- 0:00Happy Wednesday morning. Everybody from Grand Cayman
- 0:05Islands got some big ships parked next to us.
- 0:10There's the island right over there.
- 0:15It's always so beautiful. Boy, we got a special 1 today.
- 0:19I am with my friend Ed Balkovic. We're in his room.
- 0:24I said, Eddie, you want to do coffee with Kenny?
- 0:28And he said, come on, buddy, let's do it.
- 0:30So there's the legend. There's his wife.
- 0:34Look at there, Diane and Ed Balkovic, good friends of mine,
- 0:40Ed and Diane. Diane, when you get a chance,
- 0:43maybe shut that door. I don't want the.
- 0:45I don't want the. I don't want the.
- 0:46How you doing, sweetheart? Hey, how are you?
- 0:49Are you going on? Are you going on the island
- 0:50today? Yes, I am.
- 0:51We're going on the beach. All right, All right, here's my
- 0:55long time friend, the great Ed Balkovic, Eddie.
- 0:59Eddie got the sticker ready to go.
- 1:01AM. I coffee with Kenny.
- 1:02Shirt Oh looky there. Hey, by the way, shop
- 1:07kennywallace.com is doing a hell of a business.
- 1:10Eddie, Are you ready to do coffee with Kenny?
- 1:13Yes, I am. Let's get right to it,
- 1:15everybody. All right?
- 1:17We got a lot to get to today. We're going to try to do it
- 1:19right and efficient. OK?
- 1:22Yesterday, Nas Court, that's what we're calling it, NASCAR,
- 1:27but they're in court. Get it?
- 1:28NASCART boy, Eddie, the big one to me right away was they showed
- 1:34Rick Hendrick wrote a letter to the owner of NASCAR.
- 1:38Rick Hendrick wrote a letter to Jim France.
- 1:40Did you read it? Nope, I didn't read it yet.
- 1:42Eddie, I love. I love that.
- 1:44Eddie, I love. You helped me advertise, OK?
- 1:47Rick Hendrick says. Mr. France, I admire you for
- 1:51what you've done for NASCAR. Your family's awesome.
- 1:54However, your business model right now is not sustainable.
- 2:00And we won two championships in five years and we lost $20
- 2:06million. And Eddie, this letter went on
- 2:11the the letter was rough because Rick Hendrick choose Jim Francis
- 2:15ass out the letters out there for everybody to see.
- 2:19It came out late last night and Rick, Rick Hendrick says, Jim, I
- 2:23don't like it that you are always on all of our asses that
- 2:28we don't do enough for NASCAR, he says.
- 2:31We tried to hold ourselves to the highest standards.
- 2:35Our drivers work hard for NASCAR, but you know, you need
- 2:41to quit roughing us up and we need to have a meeting and get
- 2:44together right now. And this letter, I paraphrase
- 2:48it, if this is on YouTube, you know, my Charlie model most
- 2:53likely is going to drop it right in.
- 2:54But Eddie Rick Hendrick says that in in five years they won
- 3:00two championships. I'm sure that was with Chase
- 3:03Elliott and would have been Kyle Larson.
- 3:08How would you like to won two NASCAR championships and lost
- 3:12$20 million? But as you always tell me,
- 3:15Kenny, money buys speed. It really does.
- 3:19And I guess 20 million buys a lot of speed.
- 3:21Well, you know, what happens is it's like father John said, you
- 3:24know, he said be careful competition to kill.
- 3:27You see, you know, Mr. H is there getting his ass beat by,
- 3:32you know, say Joe Gibbs race and it's it's a monkey see, monkey
- 3:35do business. But man, I'm I'm going to end
- 3:38this segment like this. I told all of you that Michael
- 3:43Jordan was only the scapegoat. I told you that.
- 3:47And now you see that Richard Schiller is pissed.
- 3:50He didn't want to sign it. And this letter comes out.
- 3:53So it's true. All the car owners just say
- 3:56we're tired of Jasmine. With you and Michael Jordan
- 3:59went, I got y'all's back and they all decided to sign the
- 4:05charter. But boy, now it's coming out how
- 4:07bad all these car owners are upset with NASCAR.
- 4:11OK, so that read that letter out there.
- 4:14It is not a good letter. Rick Hendrick writes a scathing
- 4:17letter to NASCAR and literally lights into Jim Fransen.
- 4:21But at the end of the letter, it's like, hey, we can be
- 4:22friends. Let's get together.
- 4:26Richard Childress owns 60% of Richard Childress Racing.
- 4:30I always knew this and that. It's not a surprise, Eddie,
- 4:33because Roush, you know, it's Roush Fenway Keselowski.
- 4:38But anyway, Richard gets pissed on the stand because NASCAR
- 4:44found out that Richard about 8 months ago tried to sell part of
- 4:48his team to Bobby Ellen. Now Richard's pissed because he
- 4:52signed a non disclosure. In other words, nobody should
- 4:56have known. So Richard Shilson, his
- 4:58executives are on NASCAR's butt right now.
- 5:01Wanted to know how did you find out about this?
- 5:05And I think Judge Bell and them are looking into is what NASCAR
- 5:10did bring up a non disclosure. In other words, non NDANDA means
- 5:16nobody should talk about this. If you talk about it, you're
- 5:19going to jail. So we'll see how that turns out.
- 5:24But Richard Childers and his boys, they're mad that NASCAR
- 5:27brought that up. But the deal died.
- 5:31Bobby Hillen didn't have enough money.
- 5:34What do you think of that one? Never know.
- 5:37Yeah, yeah, you never know. But Richard was a or you always.
- 5:42Told me you never know until the check clears.
- 5:44Yeah, right. Yeah, I I think it's sold, but
- 5:47the check hasn't cleared yet. So Richard Childress is mad at
- 5:51NASCAR because they brought up something they shouldn't have
- 5:54brought up. It was an NDA.
- 5:56I mean, what happened there? You know, this one, this one was
- 6:01pretty wild. You know, a lot of people say to
- 6:03me, Kenny, who'd even, Eddie, who do you think is winning this
- 6:07lawsuit? One of the biggest, biggest
- 6:11signs yesterday that really disappointed everybody in the
- 6:13media was Jim France, who owns NASCAR and Steve Phelps were on
- 6:19the stand. And Eddie, they must have said,
- 6:22I can't remember. I don't know.
- 6:24They must have said it 50 times. What does that tell you when the
- 6:29owner of NASCAR and the president say, I don't remember,
- 6:33I don't know. Why do they do that, Eddie?
- 6:35Selective memory. Say it again.
- 6:38Selective memory. Yeah, so all the media, you
- 6:43know, Bob Pogras, Weaver, Gluck, they're all like, man, this
- 6:48ain't looking good. Now, that's not my words, but a
- 6:51lot of people are like, man, that ain't looking good for
- 6:53NASCAR. They, you know, I watched the
- 6:55tear down with Jeff Gluck and Bianchi and they said that don't
- 7:00look good on NASCAR. They're they're the leaders.
- 7:02There's nobody higher Jim France and and then I mean, it's their
- 7:08strategy, obviously that that's their strategy.
- 7:11But they said they spent the whole time going don't remember,
- 7:16don't know. All right.
- 7:19So I just told you, you know, we don't know what's going to
- 7:22happen. But it's not looking good for
- 7:24NASCAR right now because they don't know and they don't
- 7:26remember. My God, this was interesting.
- 7:31We decided to add this one on NASCAR Attorneys asked Steve
- 7:37Phelps or no, I think I think it was Jeffrey Kessler with Michael
- 7:43Jordan. They said Steve Phelps, why did
- 7:46Furniture Row and owner Barney Visser, why did they shut down?
- 7:51Phelps said that Furniture Row Racing, when they won the
- 7:55championship with Martin Truex, spent $45,000,000 in one year.
- 8:04So Martin Truex, when he won that championship, they spent
- 8:06$45 million. Hey, that's a lot of money.
- 8:11Did you know I was their first driver?
- 8:13And I was always amazed. And I told Joe Garone, who ran
- 8:18furniture, I said Joe Barney got enough money to do this.
- 8:21He goes, oh, he's got plenty money.
- 8:24And they would spend all their money because because Barney
- 8:27Visser wanted to prove the world that they could do it out of
- 8:30Denver, Co. And so they had those furniture
- 8:34trucks going back and forth to North Carolina.
- 8:38I think they spent an extra 2,000,000 years.
- 8:40What Joe might have told me. Hey Joe, if you watch us respond
- 8:43right here, I think they spent $2,000,000 a year cars, motors
- 8:49in the furniture trucks going from Charlotte NC to Denver, Co
- 8:54all. Those mattresses for padding,
- 8:56all that equipment. Yeah, yeah, right.
- 9:00OK. So Ray Kendrick writes a tough
- 9:02letter and but he he I mean that it shocked the racing world.
- 9:06So I think in ending Eddie, NASCAR is not sustainable is
- 9:13what all the owners are saying. Richard Schilder said, the only
- 9:18reason I can afford to do this is because I make parts for the
- 9:21military and he says we build motors.
- 9:25They're all saying they lose money, everybody's losing money
- 9:28and that this this new business model, hey, it it it keeps
- 9:32getting more expensive. So we'll see what happens.
- 9:36All right, everybody, I'm sure you'll Charlie will drop that
- 9:39letter in here that Rick Hendrick.
- 9:41Remember what they say, if you want to become a millionaire in
- 9:44racing, start out as a billionaire.
- 9:47Check him out. Ed Balkovic everybody.
- 9:50One of the greatest microbiologist in America.
- 9:54Say goodbye, Eddie. Goodbye all.
