- 0:04Speaker 1: Hello, friends from across the nation and around the world.
- 0:07Speaker 1: I'm Martin, and you are listening to Dad's Bedtime Stories,
- 0:12Speaker 1: the podcast that takes listener ideas and turns them into
- 0:16Speaker 1: bedtime stories. Now, as many of you know, I ran
- 0:20Speaker 1: a contest in March, a social share contest where if
- 0:24Speaker 1: you shared the podcast, you were entered into a draw
- 0:27Speaker 1: for a guaranteed story idea. The winner of that draw
- 0:33Speaker 1: was Will, and I did a little interview with Will
- 0:37Speaker 1: this past weekend to check out his story idea and
- 0:41Speaker 1: ask him a few other questions. So I think it's
- 0:44Speaker 1: time to check that out now.
- 0:47Speaker 2: So Will tell me about your story idea.
- 0:50Speaker 3: Some of my story is a magic library idea. And
- 0:53Speaker 3: you go into a fishing book, you go fishing, and
- 0:58Speaker 3: there are these people who ask you if you want
- 1:00Speaker 3: to go fishing, and then like they take you a
- 1:03Speaker 3: different part of the river that you've never been before,
- 1:07Speaker 3: and they don't tell you the like the water is toxic.
- 1:13Speaker 3: So then you catch a musemant fish and it chases.
- 1:16Speaker 4: You out of the book, and then you've got to
- 1:18Speaker 4: go into another book to find someone to help you
- 1:24Speaker 4: fight it and put it into the actual book.
- 1:28Speaker 1: All right, I like it is the Magic Vibrary one
- 1:32Speaker 1: of your favorite series.
- 1:33Speaker 4: Or yeah, it's one of my favorites.
- 1:37Speaker 2: What other ones do you like?
- 1:39Speaker 3: I like the Quantum Computer.
- 1:42Speaker 1: Oh, I need to do more of those. If you
- 1:44Speaker 1: could travel into one of the worlds, which one would
- 1:47Speaker 1: it be?
- 1:48Speaker 3: Oh, definitely the Quantum Computer.
- 1:50Speaker 2: What do you like about it?
- 1:52Speaker 3: I just like, like, I'm very creative and like I
- 1:56Speaker 3: would like to see, like what the computer looked like.
- 2:01Speaker 2: That's cool.
- 2:01Speaker 1: I'll have to do more of both of those, the
- 2:03Speaker 1: Magic Library and the Quantum Computer. And based on that
- 2:07Speaker 1: suggestion of that conversation I had with Will, that's exactly
- 2:10Speaker 1: what I decided to do this week because I released
- 2:13Speaker 1: a Quantum Computer episode, which I haven't done in quite
- 2:16Speaker 1: a while, on Sunday, and today we're going back to
- 2:20Speaker 1: the Magic Library. Anyways, Will and I did talk for
- 2:25Speaker 1: a longer time than that, but I thought those would
- 2:28Speaker 1: be kind of the relevant portions for today's episode, because
- 2:33Speaker 1: it's now that time again. Time to get as comfy
- 2:37Speaker 1: as you can in that bed, close your eyes and
- 2:41Speaker 1: imagine yourself doing what the kid in the story does.
- 2:48Speaker 1: Imagine yourself sitting around in your room once again. Yeah,
- 2:53Speaker 1: it's kind of one of those boring days where you're
- 2:56Speaker 1: not sure exactly what else to do. And that's when
- 3:01Speaker 1: you see it. The key, the key to the magic Library,
- 3:08Speaker 1: and suddenly all of your problems of boredom are gone.
- 3:14Speaker 1: You hop up off of your bed, walk over and
- 3:18Speaker 1: pick up the key. It feels cool and heavy in
- 3:22Speaker 1: your hand. You move over to a blank section of
- 3:26Speaker 1: the wall and hold the key out toward it. Just
- 3:30Speaker 1: before the key touches the wall, a key hole appears.
- 3:35Speaker 1: This is still amazing, you mutter yourself. You slide the
- 3:40Speaker 1: key into the magic new key hole, turn it, and
- 3:45Speaker 1: hear a familiar click. At once, the glowing outline of
- 3:50Speaker 1: a door appears in the wall. You pull it open
- 3:54Speaker 1: and step through down the stone stairs, through the long
- 4:00Speaker 1: corridor lit with what look like magical blue torches, until
- 4:05Speaker 1: you reach the great wooden door at the far end.
- 4:10Speaker 1: You open it up and step into the magic Library.
- 4:16Speaker 1: It's just as incredible as ever. Books stretch upward on
- 4:20Speaker 1: shelves that seem to go on well forever. Staircases wind
- 4:26Speaker 1: around railings and balconies. Cozy reading nooks are tucked here
- 4:31Speaker 1: and there between the stacks and overhead books drift through
- 4:37Speaker 1: the air flapping their covers like little wings as they
- 4:42Speaker 1: fly from place to place. Welcome back, says the librarian.
- 4:48Speaker 1: You look around, though, of course, you know that you're
- 4:51Speaker 1: not actually going to see anyone. The librarian is well,
- 4:55Speaker 1: sort of just the voice of the library itself, a
- 4:59Speaker 1: magic consciousness built into it, or something, at least that's
- 5:04Speaker 1: what you assume. Hey, librarian, you say, I think I
- 5:10Speaker 1: want something a little calmer today.
- 5:13Speaker 2: Calmer. The voice replies.
- 5:16Speaker 1: That's an unusual request for you, but I believe I
- 5:22Speaker 1: can manage it. You head down the circular stairs towards
- 5:27Speaker 1: the big reading area in the center of the library,
- 5:31Speaker 1: where couches and pillows and blankets sit in a giant
- 5:34Speaker 1: cozy ring.
- 5:36Speaker 2: Perhaps, says the librarian.
- 5:39Speaker 1: A nice outdoor adventure, something peaceful. Ah, sure, that sounds perfect,
- 5:47Speaker 1: Maybe like a camping story or hiking or I don't know, fishing. Fishing,
- 5:54Speaker 1: says the librarian. Excellent choice. One of the lying books
- 6:01Speaker 1: glides down from above, turns neatly in the air, and
- 6:06Speaker 1: lands in your hands. You look at the cover the
- 6:10Speaker 1: secret fishing spot. Oh nice, You say that sounds relaxing. Yes,
- 6:18Speaker 1: says the librarian, very relaxing. Now will you do in fact,
- 6:25Speaker 1: notice the slightly strange way he says that particular phrase.
- 6:30Speaker 1: You decide to settle into one of the soft couches
- 6:33Speaker 1: and pull a blanket up over your legs. Anyways, you
- 6:38Speaker 1: open the book. Instead of ordinary pages, a swirling portal
- 6:44Speaker 1: glows inside the cover. You lean toward it, and instantly
- 6:50Speaker 1: you feel your whole body pulled forward, as though the
- 6:54Speaker 1: book has suddenly become a tunnel, or well, a portal.
- 7:00Speaker 1: When you open your eyes again, you're somewhere completely different.
- 7:06Speaker 1: You're sitting on a small fishing boat drifting gently down
- 7:10Speaker 1: a river. Tall trees lean out over the water, their
- 7:15Speaker 1: leaves rustle softly in the breeze. The current is slow
- 7:20Speaker 1: and steady, and the boat rocks in the most peaceful
- 7:23Speaker 1: way imaginable. You look down and see that you're wearing
- 7:28Speaker 1: fishing boots, a vest with way too many little pockets,
- 7:33Speaker 1: and a hat that makes you feel like you probably
- 7:36Speaker 1: know what you're doing. In your hands is a fishing rod.
- 7:41Speaker 1: And then you hear the familiar voice of the librarian
- 7:46Speaker 1: narrating the story.
- 7:47Speaker 2: All around you, ah no river. Hidden far beyond the
- 7:52Speaker 2: usual trails, there was a fishing spot known only to
- 7:59Speaker 2: a lucky few you, and on this particular day, one
- 8:04Speaker 2: kid had finally been invited there. As the words are spoken,
- 8:11Speaker 2: little flashes of memory start to move through your mind,
- 8:14Speaker 2: the way they often do in these books. Now, the
- 8:18Speaker 2: kid you will be taking the role of was known
- 8:21Speaker 2: among friends as patient, observant, and very eager to catch
- 8:27Speaker 2: the biggest fish of the summer. When two experienced fishes
- 8:33Speaker 2: offered to take you or him to their secret spot,
- 8:39Speaker 2: there was no chance that you or he were going
- 8:44Speaker 2: to say no. Across from you when the boats at
- 8:49Speaker 2: two older kids, both with rods in hand and tackle
- 8:53Speaker 2: boxes by their feet. Who I told you this place
- 8:56Speaker 2: was worth the trip, one of them says, best fishing
- 9:00Speaker 2: spot ever, says the other.
- 9:03Speaker 1: Hardly anyone knows about it. You look around at the
- 9:08Speaker 1: quiet river and grin. This place is amazing, you say.
- 9:14Speaker 1: The first fisher nods proudly. Well, you just wait till
- 9:18Speaker 1: you see what bites around here for a while. It's
- 9:23Speaker 1: really perfect. The boat drifts slowly, the trees sway, birds chirp.
- 9:30Speaker 1: You cast your line out into the water and watch
- 9:34Speaker 1: the ripples spread in little circles. You listen to the
- 9:38Speaker 1: soft sounds of the river and begin to relax. But
- 9:43Speaker 1: after a minute or two you notice something odd the
- 9:48Speaker 1: water as we have a bit of a strange color
- 9:51Speaker 1: to it. Not everywhere, just in little patches. One spot
- 9:56Speaker 1: has a faint green shimmer. Another is of purple in
- 10:01Speaker 1: a way that it shouldn't be. You squint down at it,
- 10:06Speaker 1: You say, is the water supposed to do that? The
- 10:11Speaker 1: two fishers exchange a glance to what one asks that
- 10:18Speaker 1: you say pointing the glowing Oh, says the other that yes,
- 10:27Speaker 1: you say that it's probably fine. Probably, you repeat, very probably,
- 10:36Speaker 1: says the second you narrow your eyes. That is not
- 10:41Speaker 1: a comforting answer. Listen, kid, all we know is this
- 10:46Speaker 1: is one of the best fishing spots we've ever seen.
- 10:49Speaker 1: The fish here are way bigger than anywhere else.
- 10:53Speaker 5: Ah.
- 10:53Speaker 1: We don't want to ask too many questions about why,
- 10:57Speaker 1: or you know, bring some of them environment mentalists down
- 11:01Speaker 1: here or something like that. A strange cluster of bubbles
- 11:06Speaker 1: rises near the boat. One pops with a tiny puff
- 11:09Speaker 1: of purple mist. You stare at it. Why are the
- 11:14Speaker 1: bubbles purple? Ah, minerals The fisher answers, Uh, maybe magic.
- 11:22Speaker 1: Honestly we're not really sure what it is. But again,
- 11:26Speaker 1: big fish, Hey, he says, you're getting a bite, and
- 11:32Speaker 1: he's right. Your fishing rod bends so suddenly and so
- 11:36Speaker 1: hard that you nearly get yanked out of your seat.
- 11:40Speaker 1: WHOA you showed, I got something allD on tight, says
- 11:45Speaker 1: one of the fishers. Real reel it in, shouts the other.
- 11:50Speaker 1: You brace your feet against the bottom of the boat
- 11:53Speaker 1: and start reeling with all of your strength. Whatever is
- 11:57Speaker 1: on the end of the line must be huge. It
- 12:01Speaker 1: pulls so hard that the whole boat lurches sideways. This
- 12:06Speaker 1: is not a normal fish, you say. That means you
- 12:10Speaker 1: got a good one, one of the fishers replies. The
- 12:14Speaker 1: line slices through the water, the boat drifts faster. You
- 12:19Speaker 1: keep reeling and reeling, until suddenly, with an enormous splash,
- 12:25Speaker 1: the creature bursts from the river. At first, all you
- 12:29Speaker 1: can process is its size. It's a gigantic fish, bigger
- 12:34Speaker 1: than any fish you've ever seen, closer in fact, to
- 12:38Speaker 1: the size of well, a shark. Then you notice the
- 12:44Speaker 1: rest its scales, shimmer and strange glowing patches of green
- 12:49Speaker 1: and blue seaweed hangs from its back like messy hair,
- 12:54Speaker 1: though you're pretty sure it might actually be attached to
- 12:58Speaker 1: the thing's eyes bulge kind of oddly. It's fins twitch
- 13:04Speaker 1: in the wrong direction, and then very disturbingly, a pair
- 13:10Speaker 1: of little arms unfolds from its side.
- 13:13Speaker 2: You freeze.
- 13:15Speaker 1: The fish lands on the edge of the boat with
- 13:18Speaker 1: a wet slap and grins at you. The fish can grin.
- 13:26Speaker 2: Oh, the fish says, cheerfully, a new one. Hello, welcome
- 13:34Speaker 2: to the river. You should come in the Water's wonderful.
- 13:40Speaker 2: You blink? Did did the fish just talk? Of course,
- 13:47Speaker 2: I docked, said the fish. That's one of the upgrades
- 13:51Speaker 2: you get to this water.
- 13:54Speaker 1: Then, with a horrible sort of sclching sound, it grows
- 13:59Speaker 1: longer arm and from beneath its body, two strong back
- 14:04Speaker 1: legs unfold kind of awkwardly. You take a step backward
- 14:09Speaker 1: in the boat. Nope, Nope, perhaps absolutely not, you say.
- 14:16Speaker 1: The fish tilts its head.
- 14:18Speaker 2: Don't be rude. I'm being friendly.
- 14:22Speaker 1: You're a fish with arms and legs, Yes, it says proudly,
- 14:28Speaker 1: And I don't want to be the only one you
- 14:33Speaker 1: stare at it. Sorry what The fish leans closer. You
- 14:40Speaker 1: should come into the water, it says, in a weirdly
- 14:44Speaker 1: cheerful voice. It tingles it first, but then you get
- 14:49Speaker 1: used to the extra parts extra parts.
- 14:54Speaker 2: You shout, The fish nods. Do you know how lonely
- 14:59Speaker 2: it is being the old what around here with fins
- 15:02Speaker 2: and elbows?
- 15:04Speaker 1: I guess I don't you reply, Oh, it's lovely. Once
- 15:09Speaker 1: you accept it, we could all swim together, muted friends forever.
- 15:18Speaker 1: One of the fishers raises their hand. Ah, to be fair,
- 15:23Speaker 1: he does seem kind of lonely. You look back at
- 15:26Speaker 1: the fish. Oh, it says. You're saying no, aren't you. Yes,
- 15:35Speaker 1: You reply, the fish size dramatically. You're being very closed
- 15:43Speaker 1: minded about mutation. I'm being the correct amount of closed
- 15:48Speaker 1: minded about mutation.
- 15:50Speaker 2: You reply. The fish's eyes narrow. Then maybe it says,
- 15:57Speaker 2: I just need to get you in the river myself.
- 16:03Speaker 1: With that, it slams its tail into the side of
- 16:06Speaker 1: the boat. Crack, one of the boards, splits, open water
- 16:11Speaker 1: starts rushing in. Okay, this is not relaxing in any way.
- 16:16Speaker 2: You shout.
- 16:18Speaker 1: The fish clambers further into the boat, flopping and stomping
- 16:23Speaker 1: its little weird fish legs, smashing tackle boxes and knocking
- 16:27Speaker 1: over fishing gear everywhere as it makes its way toward you.
- 16:32Speaker 1: You duck as its tail swings over your head. Come
- 16:36Speaker 1: on in the fish says, the water is strange, but honestly,
- 16:41Speaker 1: you get used to it. No, thank you, Uh, librarian,
- 16:48Speaker 1: get me out of here. This isn't relaxing at all, understood.
- 16:54Speaker 1: A glowing portal appears beside you, the exit. You don't
- 16:59Speaker 1: has it for a second. You leap straight through the thing.
- 17:04Speaker 1: The last thing you hear before you dive through is
- 17:07Speaker 1: the strange mutant fish shouting don't.
- 17:10Speaker 2: Run from your destiny.
- 17:13Speaker 1: You tumble out onto the couch and the magical library,
- 17:17Speaker 1: landing in a pile of pillows, thinking that you're safe,
- 17:23Speaker 1: and that's when you hear the same strange, squishy noise
- 17:29Speaker 1: behind you. You turn to see the mutant fish dragging
- 17:35Speaker 1: itself out of the still open book. Oh no, I
- 17:39Speaker 1: forgot to close the book.
- 17:41Speaker 2: Oh good, it says, a new place. This place needs
- 17:47Speaker 2: more water. What are you doing in the library?
- 17:52Speaker 1: You ask, and the librarian answers immediately because he says,
- 17:59Speaker 1: you left the book open again.
- 18:02Speaker 2: Ah, I forgot about that. Well by now, I thought
- 18:07Speaker 2: you'd remember. I think it's a fair expectation. At this point,
- 18:13Speaker 2: the mutant.
- 18:13Speaker 1: Fish flops down off of the table and starts stomping
- 18:18Speaker 1: through the reading area. Books scatter into the air, chairs,
- 18:23Speaker 1: tip over. Its tail, sweeps across a low shelf, and
- 18:27Speaker 1: knocks a stack of books onto the floor. This blaze
- 18:31Speaker 1: is too dry, the fish complains, and also not nearly
- 18:37Speaker 1: mutanty enough. Hey, leave my library alone. No mutating it,
- 18:45Speaker 1: the librarian says. From all around you, Oh, I think
- 18:51Speaker 1: I just might. It would improve it. You duck behind
- 18:56Speaker 1: a couch as the fish lungest towards you.
- 18:59Speaker 2: There you are, come along. You will look great with gears.
- 19:06Speaker 2: I don't want gills. You say that, now, says the fish.
- 19:11Speaker 2: But wait until you try breathing sideways underwater. It's amazing.
- 19:19Speaker 1: It lunges again, and you jump on to the back
- 19:22Speaker 1: of the couch, then up to a nearby railing. The
- 19:26Speaker 1: fish crashes into the couch, sending pillows everywhere. You run
- 19:31Speaker 1: along the railing, trying to think, how are you supposed
- 19:35Speaker 1: to stop a giant, talking mutant fish. Maybe you should
- 19:40Speaker 1: have just finished the book, but well, it's too late
- 19:44Speaker 1: for that now. Now you need some way to get
- 19:47Speaker 1: this thing back inside its own book, and well close
- 19:52Speaker 1: it preferably forever. Then your eyes land on a table
- 19:58Speaker 1: near the reading area. Sitting on it is another book.
- 20:03Speaker 1: One that you've read before the Dragon King. Of course,
- 20:10Speaker 1: you skid to a stop, grab the book and flip
- 20:13Speaker 1: it open right to the end. The portal glows. That
- 20:19Speaker 1: says the librarian is either an.
- 20:21Speaker 2: Excellent plaid or a terrible one.
- 20:25Speaker 1: I'm hoping I'm excellent, you say, as you dive into
- 20:28Speaker 1: the portal. A moment later, you're back inside the world
- 20:33Speaker 1: of Eldoria, racing through the final chamber where the golden
- 20:38Speaker 1: armor and flute weight. Because you've done it before, you
- 20:43Speaker 1: already know exactly what you need. You grab the armor,
- 20:47Speaker 1: snapping it into place piece by piece. Golden plates slide
- 20:52Speaker 1: over your arms and chest. Then you snatch up the
- 20:56Speaker 1: flute before immediately jumping through the eggs at portal. You
- 21:02Speaker 1: land in the library once again, this time wearing shining
- 21:06Speaker 1: gold armor. The mutant fish stops mid stomp and blinks
- 21:12Speaker 1: at you. Oh, it says you changed, Yeah, you say,
- 21:19Speaker 1: lifting the flute and you are going back in your book.
- 21:25Speaker 1: The fish folds its arms. You know, if you came
- 21:28Speaker 1: into the river, you could probably grow arba naturally sort of.
- 21:34Speaker 1: It might be permanently stuck to your skin, but it
- 21:38Speaker 1: would be so fun. That sounds like a terrible idea,
- 21:43Speaker 1: and nobody wants to do that. You reply, Oh, fied,
- 21:48Speaker 1: it's mostly wishful thinking anyways. The fish admits. You raise
- 21:53Speaker 1: the flute to your lips and begin to play. The
- 21:58Speaker 1: melody pours out into the library, clear and bright and powerful.
- 22:05Speaker 1: At once, golden light shines from the open dragon king book.
- 22:11Speaker 1: A huge shadow rises. Then the golden Dragon emerges, climbing
- 22:18Speaker 1: from the portal with a slow, majestic sort of grace
- 22:22Speaker 1: that makes the entire room feel smaller. Books whirl through
- 22:27Speaker 1: the air from the wind of its wings. His golden
- 22:31Speaker 1: scales gleam in the library light. He lowers his great
- 22:36Speaker 1: head and looks first at you, then at the mutant
- 22:40Speaker 1: fish I see. The dragon says, in a deep voice,
- 22:47Speaker 1: that you have found trouble again. Huh, a little, you say.
- 22:55Speaker 1: The dragon looks at the fish that appears to be
- 23:00Speaker 1: more than a little. The mutant fish straightens up and
- 23:04Speaker 1: tries to look impressive her a big lizard. The dragon
- 23:10Speaker 1: narrows his eyes.
- 23:12Speaker 2: Fish with legs. I prefer to think of myself as
- 23:17Speaker 2: a fish with possibilities, the mutant fish replies.
- 23:22Speaker 1: Then it charges, or at least it kind of tries
- 23:25Speaker 1: to It's sort of more of like a half running,
- 23:29Speaker 1: half flopping motion, but it moves with surprising speed. The
- 23:34Speaker 1: dragon sidesteps, gracefully, swings its tail and knocks the fish
- 23:39Speaker 1: backward into a pile of cushions. The fish pops up again.
- 23:45Speaker 1: I'm not going anywhere, not alone. Oh, being a mutant
- 23:50Speaker 1: fish is such a lonely thing. Won't what have you
- 23:54Speaker 1: come with me? Perhaps you dragon? Being a mutant dragon
- 23:59Speaker 1: could be fun.
- 24:01Speaker 2: I don't think so. You will return to your river,
- 24:09Speaker 2: but it's lowly there.
- 24:12Speaker 1: Ah, then maybe you say from behind the flute, you
- 24:16Speaker 1: should stop trying to mutate everybody, That, says the fish
- 24:22Speaker 1: is how I make friends? Has that ever worked for you?
- 24:26Speaker 1: Before you ask?
- 24:29Speaker 2: We're no, not exactly, but I was hoping this would
- 24:34Speaker 2: be the first time.
- 24:36Speaker 1: The dragon takes one heavy step forward, then another. The
- 24:41Speaker 1: fish backs away. The dragon doesn't slash or bite. He
- 24:47Speaker 1: simply advances with slow, irresistible power, hurting the fish backward
- 24:54Speaker 1: across the reading area.
- 24:56Speaker 6: Back.
- 24:57Speaker 2: Says the dragon. I don't want to go back back.
- 25:03Speaker 2: You are a very repetitive dragon.
- 25:07Speaker 5: It's working, isn't it.
- 25:10Speaker 1: The fish glances around wildly, then makes one last desperate
- 25:15Speaker 1: leap toward a shelf, as if maybe it can hide
- 25:18Speaker 1: there among the books or something. The dragon inhales and
- 25:22Speaker 1: lets out a mighty roar, Not fire, just a huge roar,
- 25:28Speaker 1: one so powerful that it shakes the room and blasts
- 25:32Speaker 1: a gust of winds so strong that the fish tumbles backward,
- 25:37Speaker 1: end over end right. In two the open fishing book,
- 25:43Speaker 1: You sprint forward, slam the cover shut, and press both
- 25:48Speaker 1: hands on it. The book wiggles once, then twice, then
- 25:53Speaker 1: it goes still. You let out a long breath. All
- 25:58Speaker 1: right it closed? Say definitely closed? Yes, says the librarian,
- 26:05Speaker 1: closing the book. A strong new strategy. I hain't get it,
- 26:11Speaker 1: you mutter. You know what else would be a strong strategy, librarian,
- 26:16Speaker 1: maybe warning me that the book I'm about to read
- 26:19Speaker 1: isn't just a relaxing sort of fishing book. It actually
- 26:23Speaker 1: has a super weird, talking mutant fish that wants to
- 26:27Speaker 1: make friends.
- 26:29Speaker 2: Well, I I thought you might enjoy a little adventure.
- 26:33Speaker 2: To be honest, you look bored. Thanks.
- 26:37Speaker 1: Next time, maybe I can decide what kind of adventure
- 26:41Speaker 1: I want.
- 26:42Speaker 2: Eh. Sorry, I won't do that again, I promise.
- 26:49Speaker 1: Anyways. Time to clean this place up. You pick up
- 26:53Speaker 1: the flute once again and begin to blow into it,
- 26:57Speaker 1: allowing your fingers to move exactly where they're supposed to go.
- 27:03Speaker 1: The flute produces a well, an almost hypnotic sort of sound.
- 27:09Speaker 1: Hearing it, the dragon turns back towards the book and
- 27:15Speaker 1: jumps into his own portal. You walk towards it next
- 27:20Speaker 1: and take off the golden armor, shoving it back into
- 27:24Speaker 1: the book along with the flute. Then you carefully close
- 27:29Speaker 1: the book tight and place it back on the table.
- 27:34Speaker 2: Well, would you like to perhaps choose another book for today,
- 27:39Speaker 2: since you apparently did not enjoy that one.
- 27:44Speaker 1: Asks the librarian. H No, I think I'm just gonna
- 27:48Speaker 1: head to bed, you say. You make your way up
- 27:53Speaker 1: the staircase back through the giant wooden door, down the
- 27:59Speaker 1: long chin amber hall full of glowing blue lights, and
- 28:04Speaker 1: up the set of stairs. You push open a little
- 28:08Speaker 1: door at the end and step back into your very
- 28:13Speaker 1: own room. You close the door behind you, turn the key,
- 28:20Speaker 1: and with a click, the outline to the door disappears.
- 28:26Speaker 1: You pull the key out of the keyhole and it
- 28:29Speaker 1: glows for a second before disappearing as well. You place
- 28:34Speaker 1: the key on a shelf and head back to your bed,
- 28:40Speaker 1: You pull the covers up over top of yourself. You
- 28:45Speaker 1: close your eyes, and you begin to simply focus on
- 28:50Speaker 1: your breath. With each breath, your shoulders grow more and
- 28:57Speaker 1: more relaxed, your arms sink down into the bed, your
- 29:06Speaker 1: legs let go of any tension at all, and you
- 29:11Speaker 1: even relax your face into a nice sort of half smile.
- 29:19Speaker 1: And as you continue to breathe, you allow your mind
- 29:24Speaker 1: to wander off off the thoughts of new dreams, new
- 29:31Speaker 1: fishing trips, and new adventures to come.
- 29:36Speaker 5: Good night, everyone, yes.
- 32:17Speaker 6: Us more never Union ACoM in New York more than Union.
