- 0:26Speaker 1: Darrow Coles. Story of the Ark, The Flood, the Olive Branch,
- 0:33Speaker 1: The Rainbow of Promise. Story of the Ark. Now, God
- 0:40Speaker 1: saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth,
- 0:44Speaker 1: and it repented God that he had made man. But
- 0:48Speaker 1: Noah was a just man and perfect in his generation.
- 0:52Speaker 1: And Noah walked with God, and God said unto Noah,
- 0:57Speaker 1: the end of all flesh has come before me, for
- 1:00Speaker 1: the earth is filled with violence through them. And behold,
- 1:05Speaker 1: I will destroy them with the earth. Make thee an
- 1:10Speaker 1: ark of gopher wood rooms. Shalt thou make in the ark,
- 1:14Speaker 1: and shalt pitch it within and without with pitch a window.
- 1:19Speaker 1: Shalt thou make to the ark, and the door of
- 1:21Speaker 1: the ark, shalt thou set in the side thereof with
- 1:25Speaker 1: lower second and third stories, shalt thou make it, And behold,
- 1:31Speaker 1: I even I do bring a flood of waters upon
- 1:35Speaker 1: the earth to destroy all flesh, and everything that is
- 1:40Speaker 1: in the earth shall die. But with THEE will I
- 1:44Speaker 1: establish my covenant. And thou shalt come into the Ark,
- 1:48Speaker 1: Thou and thy sons, and thy wife, and thy sons
- 1:52Speaker 1: wives with THEE. And of every living thing, two of
- 1:57Speaker 1: every sort shalt thou bring into the ark to keep
- 2:01Speaker 1: them alive. With THEE. They shall be male and female,
- 2:05Speaker 1: of fowls after their kind, and of cattle, and of
- 2:09Speaker 1: every creeping thing of the earth. Two of every sort
- 2:13Speaker 1: shall come unto THEE to keep them alive. And take
- 2:18Speaker 1: thou unto THEE of all food that is eaten, and
- 2:21Speaker 1: it shall be for food for THEE and for them.
- 2:26Speaker 1: Thus did Noah according to all that God commanded him.
- 2:30Speaker 1: So did he the flood. And the Lord said, unto Noah,
- 2:37Speaker 1: come thou and all thy house into the Ark. For
- 2:40Speaker 1: THEE have I seen righteous before me in this generation.
- 2:44Speaker 1: And Noah went in, and his sons, and his wife,
- 2:49Speaker 1: and his son's wives with him into the Ark. Because
- 2:52Speaker 1: of the waters of the flood, of clean beasts and
- 2:56Speaker 1: of beasts that are not clean, and of fowls, and
- 3:00Speaker 1: of everything that creepeth upon the earth. There went in
- 3:04Speaker 1: two and two unto Noah into the ark the male
- 3:08Speaker 1: and the female, as God had commanded Noah, and the
- 3:12Speaker 1: Lord shut him in. And it came to pass after
- 3:16Speaker 1: seven days that the waters of the flood were upon
- 3:20Speaker 1: the earth. In the six hundredth year of Noah's life,
- 3:24Speaker 1: in the second month, the seventeenth day of the month.
- 3:28Speaker 1: The same day, were all the fountains of the great
- 3:30Speaker 1: Deep broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened,
- 3:36Speaker 1: and the rain was upon the earth forty days and
- 3:39Speaker 1: forty nights, and the waters increased and bare up the ark,
- 3:44Speaker 1: and it was lift up above the earth, and all
- 3:47Speaker 1: flesh died that moved upon the earth, and every living
- 3:52Speaker 1: substance was destroyed which was upon the face of the ground,
- 3:56Speaker 1: both man and cattle, and the creeping things, and the
- 4:00Speaker 1: fowl of the heaven. And Noah only remained alive, and
- 4:05Speaker 1: they that were with him in the ark, and the
- 4:08Speaker 1: ark went upon the face of the waters, and the
- 4:12Speaker 1: waters prevailed upon the earth ane hundred and fifty days.
- 4:17Speaker 1: The olive leif and God remembered Noah and every living
- 4:22Speaker 1: thing and the cattle that was with him in the Ark,
- 4:26Speaker 1: and God made a wind to pass over the earth,
- 4:29Speaker 1: and the waters assuaged the fountains also of the deep,
- 4:33Speaker 1: and the windows of heaven were stopped, and the rain
- 4:37Speaker 1: from heaven was restrained, and the waters returned from off
- 4:41Speaker 1: the earth continually, and after the end of the hundred
- 4:45Speaker 1: and fifty days, the waters were abated, and the ark
- 4:50Speaker 1: rested in the seventh month on the seventeenth day of
- 4:53Speaker 1: the month upon the mountains of Ararat, and the waters
- 4:58Speaker 1: decreased continually until the time tops of the mountains were seen.
- 5:02Speaker 1: And it came to pass at the end of forty
- 5:04Speaker 1: days that Noah opened the window of the ark which
- 5:07Speaker 1: he had made, and he sent forth a raven, which
- 5:11Speaker 1: went forth to and fro until the waters were dried
- 5:14Speaker 1: up from the earth. Also he sent forth a dove
- 5:18Speaker 1: from him to see if the waters were abated from
- 5:22Speaker 1: off the face of the ground. But the dove found
- 5:25Speaker 1: no rest for the soul of her foot, and she
- 5:28Speaker 1: returned unto him into the ark, for the waters were
- 5:32Speaker 1: on the face of the whole earth. Then he put
- 5:35Speaker 1: forth his hand and took her and pulled her unto
- 5:39Speaker 1: him into the ark. And he stayed yet other seven days,
- 5:45Speaker 1: and again he sent forth the dove out of the ark,
- 5:50Speaker 1: and the dove came into him in the evening, and
- 5:53Speaker 1: lo in her mouth was an olive leaf plucked off.
- 5:58Speaker 1: So Noah knew that the waters were abated from off
- 6:01Speaker 1: the earth. And he stayed yet other seven days, and
- 6:06Speaker 1: he sent forth the dove, which returned not again unto
- 6:10Speaker 1: him anymore. And Noah removed the covering of the ark,
- 6:15Speaker 1: and looked, and behold, the face of the ground was dry.
- 6:21Speaker 1: And God spake unto Noah, saying, go forth of the ark,
- 6:25Speaker 1: thou and thy sons, and thy wife, and thy son's
- 6:29Speaker 1: wives with THEE. Bring forth with THEE every living thing,
- 6:33Speaker 1: of all flesh, both of fowl and of cattle, and
- 6:37Speaker 1: of every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth, that
- 6:41Speaker 1: they may be fruitful and multiply upon the earth. And
- 6:45Speaker 1: Noah went forth, and his sons, and his wife and
- 6:49Speaker 1: his son's wives with him, every beast, every creeping thing,
- 6:54Speaker 1: and every fowl went forth out of the ark. And
- 6:59Speaker 1: Noah built and altar unto the Lord the rainbow of promise.
- 7:07Speaker 1: And the Lord said in his heart, I will not
- 7:10Speaker 1: again curse the ground any more for man's sake, For
- 7:13Speaker 1: the imagination of man's heart is evil from his youth.
- 7:18Speaker 1: Neither will I again smite anymore everything living as I
- 7:22Speaker 1: have done, while the earth remaineth seed, time and harvest
- 7:28Speaker 1: and cold, in heat and summer and winter, and day
- 7:32Speaker 1: and night shall not cease. And God blessed Noah and
- 7:37Speaker 1: his sons. And God spake unto Noah and to his
- 7:40Speaker 1: sons with him, saying, and I behold, I establish my
- 7:46Speaker 1: covenant with you, and with your seed after you, and
- 7:51Speaker 1: with every living creature that is with you, of the
- 7:54Speaker 1: fowl of the cattle, and of every beast of the earth,
- 7:58Speaker 1: with you, from all all that go out of the ark,
- 8:01Speaker 1: to every beast of the earth, I will establish my
- 8:05Speaker 1: covenant with you. Neither shall all flesh be cut off
- 8:08Speaker 1: anymore by the waters of a flood. Neither shall there
- 8:12Speaker 1: any more be a flood to destroy the earth. And
- 8:16Speaker 1: God said, this is the token of the covenant which
- 8:19Speaker 1: I make between me and you and every living creature
- 8:23Speaker 1: that is with you, for perpetual generations. I do set
- 8:28Speaker 1: my bow in the cloud, and it shall be for
- 8:31Speaker 1: a token of covenant between me and the earth. And
- 8:35Speaker 1: it shall come to pass when I bring a cloud
- 8:37Speaker 1: over the earth, that the bow shall be seen in
- 8:40Speaker 1: the cloud and I will remember my covenant which is
- 8:44Speaker 1: between me and you and every living creature of all flesh,
- 8:49Speaker 1: and the waters shall no more become a flood to
- 8:51Speaker 1: destroy all flesh. And Noah lived after the flood three
- 8:56Speaker 1: hundred and fifty years, and all the days of Noah
- 9:00Speaker 1: were nine hundred and fifty years. And of Section thirty four,
