- 1:01Speaker 3: Good evening, and welcome to Believe in the Journey Podcast,
- 1:04Speaker 3: where I am your host, Trevita Harris, and I have
- 1:07Speaker 3: a very amazing guest tonight, Miss Elizabeth, and we're gonna
- 1:11Speaker 3: talk to her about her journey from through trials to
- 1:14Speaker 3: triumph and it's an amazing story. You guys do not
- 1:18Speaker 3: want to miss it. But you know we can't do
- 1:20Speaker 3: anything without going to God in prayer, So let's do that.
- 1:24Speaker 3: Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for bringing us together as
- 1:26Speaker 3: you do each and every time we're in front of you.
- 1:29Speaker 3: Let the words of my mouth fall upon the ears
- 1:31Speaker 3: that need to hear. Let those who are struggling with
- 1:34Speaker 3: anything that they can't handle them on their own, let
- 1:37Speaker 3: them know that they can lay it at your feet
- 1:39Speaker 3: and you will take it from there. They don't need
- 1:42Speaker 3: to do anything else but be patient and let you
- 1:45Speaker 3: work it out on their behalf. Because there are things
- 1:48Speaker 3: that we don't know that you already have gone ahead
- 1:51Speaker 3: and fought and won that battle for us. So allow
- 1:54Speaker 3: us to be patient with you and let you do
- 1:57Speaker 3: the work that only you can do. So let us
- 2:00Speaker 3: us go to the conversation that you will lead as
- 2:03Speaker 3: you do each and every time we are in front
- 2:06Speaker 3: of you. So let the words of our mouths fall
- 2:08Speaker 3: upon the ears that need to hear. Let it lead
- 2:11Speaker 3: others to you in a way that they may be
- 2:14Speaker 3: falling distance or falling short and don't know how.
- 2:17Speaker 4: To get to you.
- 2:18Speaker 3: Let us be those vessels that bring them closer to
- 2:20Speaker 3: You and your precious and holy name, Jesus, I pray amen.
- 2:25Speaker 3: All right, Hello, miss Elizabeth, how are you doing tonight?
- 2:30Speaker 2: I am very blessed plused to be here.
- 2:32Speaker 4: How are you?
- 2:34Speaker 3: I am good, and I thank you for being here. Well,
- 2:38Speaker 3: I want you to go ahead and introduce yourself and
- 2:41Speaker 3: tell them a little bit about you, and then we're
- 2:43Speaker 3: gonna get into the conversation.
- 2:45Speaker 2: Okay, my name is Elizabeth Meggs. I am an inspirational speaker,
- 2:51Speaker 2: transformational life coach also known as the Americal Power Empowerment Coach,
- 2:58Speaker 2: and I am just very blessed to be here. I'm
- 3:01Speaker 2: also a best selling author and just blessed to be
- 3:06Speaker 2: able to deliver our message of hope and feeling to
- 3:11Speaker 2: how empower others to be able to overcome and rise
- 3:14Speaker 2: above their obstacles so that they can find the same
- 3:18Speaker 2: piece and freedom, life of fulfillment and abundance that I have.
- 3:24Speaker 5: And that is a beautiful way to put it.
- 3:26Speaker 3: Now, my first question I'm going to ask is that
- 3:29Speaker 3: you had a devastating car accident while you were in
- 3:34Speaker 3: high school that led you down this journey. That is
- 3:38Speaker 3: significant for your triumphs, but your trials is what led
- 3:42Speaker 3: you here. So can you give us a little bit
- 3:45Speaker 3: of background about that and how your life changed.
- 3:48Speaker 2: Yes, So, twenty five years ago, at the age of fourteen,
- 3:53Speaker 2: I was chased in my dreams. I had been singing
- 3:57Speaker 2: and performing for over half. My life was known for
- 4:01Speaker 2: my voice, and everything was moving full speed ahead for
- 4:05Speaker 2: me to move to Nashville to pursue a career in
- 4:08Speaker 2: country music as soon as I graduated high school. My
- 4:12Speaker 2: voice was my identity and I was just It was
- 4:16Speaker 2: effortless and my life was easy. I was popular, play
- 4:20Speaker 2: a resport, and everyone wanted to be my friend. But
- 4:25Speaker 2: then one week in my freshman year of high school,
- 4:28Speaker 2: my entire world came crashing down around me. I was
- 4:34Speaker 2: injured in a car accident where I suffered a traumatic
- 4:36Speaker 2: brain injury that left me finally for my life. I
- 4:40Speaker 2: was given less than twenty five percent survival rate. The
- 4:44Speaker 2: doctors were basically preparing my family for my death because
- 4:50Speaker 2: it wasn't looking like I was going to survive. But
- 4:55Speaker 2: after three weeks of being in the coma, I awoke
- 4:59Speaker 2: and essentially had to relearn how to do everything. There
- 5:03Speaker 2: was three full months of intensive hospitals and rehabs before
- 5:08Speaker 2: I made it back home for good. Once back home,
- 5:12Speaker 2: this was when I discovered the biggest challenge that I
- 5:15Speaker 2: would ever face. Because I was no longer that same independent,
- 5:22Speaker 2: popular cheerleader, singer, songwriter, play every sport. I was facing
- 5:28Speaker 2: challenges every single day. I dealt with judgment. I dealt
- 5:32Speaker 2: with rejection from people that would see something physically wrong
- 5:36Speaker 2: with me and decide that I wasn't worth their time.
- 5:41Speaker 2: It was so very difficult. I knew that everything would
- 5:44Speaker 2: be better if I was no longer here, if I
- 5:47Speaker 2: hadn't survived the accident, and I would actually beg God
- 5:51Speaker 2: to take me from the earth because I knew everything
- 5:54Speaker 2: would be easier.
- 5:56Speaker 3: That's the thought that I think most people have when
- 5:59Speaker 3: they deal with something that's life changing. Like that, I
- 6:02Speaker 3: can say I had those thoughts. I had a stroke
- 6:06Speaker 3: in two thousand and nine and had to learn how
- 6:08Speaker 3: to speak again and use my left side, so I
- 6:11Speaker 3: can relate to that. And you do go through those
- 6:14Speaker 3: thoughts and things of that nature, and it's like, Okay, God,
- 6:19Speaker 3: what is it that? Why would I be in this position?
- 6:23Speaker 3: Like what did I do to be.
- 6:26Speaker 5: Dealing with this?
- 6:26Speaker 3: So that's definitely one of those things where it's like, Okay, God.
- 6:32Speaker 5: What is it? Why me? What is this?
- 6:36Speaker 3: But you know there was something inside of you that
- 6:40Speaker 3: you didn't even know that you had in you and
- 6:43Speaker 3: talk about that.
- 6:45Speaker 2: So I would come home from school multiple days a
- 6:49Speaker 2: week for over four years and tell my parents that
- 6:53Speaker 2: I should have died. I wish ever with that, and
- 6:55Speaker 2: I wanted to kill myself, myself on my screaming at
- 7:00Speaker 2: my lungs, crying out to God, beating my fasts under
- 7:03Speaker 2: the floor, asking him why he did this to me?
- 7:05Speaker 2: What did I do to deserve this? But that's when
- 7:10Speaker 2: I would receive an answer, and it came in the
- 7:13Speaker 2: form of a voice on my heart that brought me
- 7:16Speaker 2: an overwhelming amount of comfort and peace, which was just
- 7:18Speaker 2: exactly what I needed in that moment a peace to
- 7:22Speaker 2: comfort that was divine yea, and the voice said, I
- 7:27Speaker 2: have a plan for you. You can't stop, you have
- 7:30Speaker 2: to keep going. I knew in that moment that there
- 7:35Speaker 2: was a reason that I was still here. Yeah, calling
- 7:39Speaker 2: me to become exactly who He created me to be,
- 7:45Speaker 2: so I could help others going through the same struggles
- 7:48Speaker 2: for the same suffering that felt alone, that felt invisible,
- 7:52Speaker 2: felt like and nobody felt like weren't worthy of anyone
- 7:58Speaker 2: loving or being in their life, because that's the way
- 8:02Speaker 2: I felt. I saw myself when I looked in the mirror.
- 8:06Speaker 2: I saw myself through the eyes of the people who
- 8:09Speaker 2: judged and protected me. I saw I'm a glee monster.
- 8:14Speaker 4: And so.
- 8:16Speaker 2: But God loved me enough to hold me and to
- 8:20Speaker 2: pick me up. Every time I fell down and felt
- 8:24Speaker 2: like I couldn't keep going, he would give me the
- 8:27Speaker 2: strength to keep fighting.
- 8:29Speaker 4: And Yeah, that is a.
- 8:31Speaker 3: Way of touching you in a way that it makes
- 8:36Speaker 3: you understand.
- 8:38Speaker 5: And I know that there may.
- 8:40Speaker 3: Be still days where you have those feelings when something
- 8:44Speaker 3: is getting a little harder, you get a little frustrated
- 8:47Speaker 3: with things, Because I know I still have my moments
- 8:49Speaker 3: where it's like okay, Especially when the pain is a
- 8:51Speaker 3: little bit unbearable, It's like, Okay, God, what else is
- 8:55Speaker 3: left with this? Because what else am I so supposed
- 9:00Speaker 3: to be shown with, you know, with what I'm going through?
- 9:04Speaker 3: Like have you ever had this moment in where you're like, God,
- 9:10Speaker 3: what is all of this for? And you're like that
- 9:13Speaker 3: if I'm supposed to continue, send me a sign and.
- 9:18Speaker 5: He sends you a sign, there's someone else. Have you
- 9:22Speaker 5: had a moment like that?
- 9:24Speaker 2: I've had many moments like that. I twenty years after
- 9:30Speaker 2: my accident, I found myself in a toxic relationship, toxic
- 9:36Speaker 2: marriage where I was been verbally and emotionally abused as
- 9:41Speaker 2: God was opening doors for me to continue my speaking
- 9:46Speaker 2: and touching the lives of those who were right suffering
- 9:51Speaker 2: the same place I once was. My ex husband would
- 9:55Speaker 2: tell me that no one would ever pay me to
- 9:59Speaker 2: share my story. The only financial security I would ever
- 10:03Speaker 2: have would be through my degree as an occupational therapist.
- 10:07Speaker 2: But the thing with that was that my heart was
- 10:12Speaker 2: no longer I was no longer being fueled by doing
- 10:16Speaker 2: my degree job. I was being fueled when I would
- 10:20Speaker 2: get up on a stage or speak to one of
- 10:23Speaker 2: my patients and providing hope, but more one of my
- 10:26Speaker 2: one on one clients providing hope and helping them to
- 10:30Speaker 2: find a way out. But God's a place was always
- 10:34Speaker 2: so much stronger, brought me comfort and peace, didn't have
- 10:38Speaker 2: any of the chaos and confusion like my ex husband's
- 10:41Speaker 2: voice brought. And April of twenty twenty three, God basically
- 10:52Speaker 2: brought someone back into my life who had been in
- 10:55Speaker 2: my life six years earlier. I hadn't seen this person
- 10:59Speaker 2: in number four and a half years, and I thought
- 11:01Speaker 2: to myself, Okay, God, if you need me to leave,
- 11:06Speaker 2: I need you to give me a sign. Twenty four
- 11:10Speaker 2: hours and no signs came. Thirty six hours, I received
- 11:14Speaker 2: a sign, and I was just like, okay, God, I've
- 11:17Speaker 2: got it loud and clear. Now if you need me
- 11:20Speaker 2: to leave, I don't know how I'm gonna do it,
- 11:23Speaker 2: So I need you to help make away if that's
- 11:26Speaker 2: what you need. I prayed to him as soon as
- 11:29Speaker 2: I got the sign. But I've learned that it doesn't
- 11:35Speaker 2: happen one way. He doesn't do all of the work.
- 11:37Speaker 2: He moves mountains, but it takes you moving to the
- 11:41Speaker 2: door or the window so that you can see the
- 11:44Speaker 2: mountains being moved and then the next steps forward. So
- 11:48Speaker 2: as soon as I got done with that prayer, I
- 11:50Speaker 2: called my boss at the hospital where I worked, as
- 11:53Speaker 2: they needed me. It was the meanting full time, and
- 11:56Speaker 2: I was like, okay. I explained my situation and I said,
- 12:02Speaker 2: I need to see if I can transfer back to
- 12:06Speaker 2: Waco because I have to get out. I can't stay
- 12:11Speaker 2: here because if I stay here, God basically told me,
- 12:14Speaker 2: if you're stay in this marriage, you're not ever gonna
- 12:16Speaker 2: be able to fulfill My will for your life. And
- 12:20Speaker 2: so less than an hour later, my boss gave me
- 12:24Speaker 2: a call. I was able to transfer from Dallas back
- 12:27Speaker 2: to Waco, and the next twenty four hours I found
- 12:31Speaker 2: a place that I could afford to live, and within
- 12:34Speaker 2: four days he made away for there was no way.
- 12:38Speaker 5: And that's what God does.
- 12:40Speaker 3: You have to have undeniable faith and trust in Him
- 12:45Speaker 3: because if.
- 12:46Speaker 5: You ask him to give you.
- 12:48Speaker 3: A sign, he's gonna give you that sign. Yeah, gotta
- 12:52Speaker 3: be willing to move when he says move. And that's
- 12:57Speaker 3: been one of the hardest things I think for most
- 13:00Speaker 3: people to do, is because they'll reject the answer that
- 13:04Speaker 3: God gives when when they pray. Because it doesn't look
- 13:09Speaker 3: like what they expected to look like exactly exactly.
- 13:13Speaker 2: He can't do that. It also takes learning how to
- 13:17Speaker 2: live open to all of the possibilities. Like twenty five
- 13:21Speaker 2: years ago or at the age of seven, my dream
- 13:25Speaker 2: was being on a stage, but it was singing, using
- 13:29Speaker 2: and being on a stage to touch people.
- 13:31Speaker 5: Mmhmm.
- 13:33Speaker 2: My dream is still the same, being on stages, but
- 13:38Speaker 2: it's not singing. It's connecting with my voice and letting
- 13:42Speaker 2: Him speak through me so that I can help empower
- 13:46Speaker 2: and encourage and be the voice of hope for everybody
- 13:50Speaker 2: in this world, just as here was the voice of
- 13:52Speaker 2: hope for me years ago.
- 13:56Speaker 3: I was telling a coworker yesterday, as a matter of fact,
- 13:59Speaker 3: we were talking and about how God has a great
- 14:03Speaker 3: sense of humor, and it was a joke that I
- 14:06Speaker 3: saw in the comic when I was about twelve years old,
- 14:08Speaker 3: and it was if you ever want to know how
- 14:11Speaker 3: God's sense of humor works is told him your plans
- 14:15Speaker 3: and watch how he changes them. And it was one
- 14:19Speaker 3: of those things where it's like, Okay, you may have
- 14:22Speaker 3: plans for the next day or whatever, or you may
- 14:25Speaker 3: have plans for the future, and you may have it
- 14:28Speaker 3: planned out a certain way. And just like you said,
- 14:31Speaker 3: your plan was to be on stage and to use
- 14:34Speaker 3: your voice to sing. God is using your voice to
- 14:37Speaker 3: be on stages, but it's not for singing, and you
- 14:40Speaker 3: have never even.
- 14:42Speaker 5: Thought of it in that way. And God is God
- 14:46Speaker 5: all by.
- 14:47Speaker 3: Himself, and the plans that he has for us is
- 14:50Speaker 3: exactly what it is. He never has made a mistake,
- 14:53Speaker 3: and the plans that he has for us, it's just
- 14:56Speaker 3: for us to be obedient to his instructions. And when
- 15:00Speaker 3: we can be obedient, God knows that he has us
- 15:04Speaker 3: the way that we won't.
- 15:05Speaker 5: We get distracted.
- 15:07Speaker 3: We try to do our own things sometimes and God
- 15:10Speaker 3: is like going after.
- 15:13Speaker 2: Becomes chase an afters no. I made the choice to
- 15:16Speaker 2: get in that marriage, but he knew that was going
- 15:20Speaker 2: to happen, and that's why in twenty seventeen, he brought
- 15:23Speaker 2: someone into my life. It was actually the first person
- 15:27Speaker 2: whoever truly saw me. It was the first outsider who
- 15:31Speaker 2: actually saw my heart and believed in me and wouldn't
- 15:34Speaker 2: let me forget it. And two months after I met
- 15:37Speaker 2: this person, he spoke to me about him and he said,
- 15:41Speaker 2: I brought you two together to bring you both closer
- 15:43Speaker 2: to me. You have to tell him this, You have
- 15:46Speaker 2: to tell him that you love him, and I love him.
- 15:48Speaker 2: I've known this person for two months. Oh well, was
- 15:52Speaker 2: I afraid to tell him? No? Because when God speaks
- 15:55Speaker 2: to you audibly, you have absolutely in your mind from God.
- 16:03Speaker 2: Piece and comfort that he brought me in high school
- 16:06Speaker 2: was like when Pal sometimes amplified when he spoke to
- 16:10Speaker 2: me audibly. So it was just yeah, so it's just
- 16:15Speaker 2: the way he moves. He's always right there. Yeah, gonna
- 16:20Speaker 2: come to the rescue. But again, you have to be
- 16:24Speaker 2: willing to turn to him.
- 16:26Speaker 3: Yes, And whenever you are praying and asking God for
- 16:30Speaker 3: certain things in certain directions or whatever the case may be,
- 16:34Speaker 3: understand that what you see is definitely gonna be a
- 16:38Speaker 3: little different than.
- 16:38Speaker 5: What God sees.
- 16:40Speaker 3: And He's still gonna get you in the space in
- 16:42Speaker 3: which you want to go, but he's gonna multiply that
- 16:46Speaker 3: in different ways. Like me doing this podcast was not
- 16:49Speaker 3: something I saw. But He's sent me visions, you know,
- 16:53Speaker 3: like you have vivid dreams, And whenever you have the
- 16:56Speaker 3: vivid dreams, those are God sending you those signals. And
- 17:00Speaker 3: and I was cleaning up one day and just out
- 17:04Speaker 3: of the blue, I got this random vision and it
- 17:07Speaker 3: was like, Okay, you're gonna be in front of a
- 17:09Speaker 3: podium speaking to people. And I'm like, God, I think
- 17:13Speaker 3: you delivered that to somebody else. That's not for me.
- 17:16Speaker 3: And it was like, no, this is for you. So
- 17:21Speaker 3: this is what I need you to do. And I
- 17:23Speaker 3: hadn't even written a book at all at this time,
- 17:27Speaker 3: so it was like, God, I think you have gotten
- 17:31Speaker 3: me mixed up with somebody else.
- 17:32Speaker 5: This is not what I'm supposed to be doing.
- 17:35Speaker 3: But here I am now doing exactly what I've been
- 17:39Speaker 3: shying away from. But it was like, no, this is
- 17:42Speaker 3: what I need you to do, because this is what
- 17:45Speaker 3: I've called you to do. There's something that I need
- 17:47Speaker 3: you to share with other people and the people that
- 17:51Speaker 3: you come in contact with. And so it's like, God, Okay,
- 17:55Speaker 3: I'm not sure if I'm doing it the right way.
- 17:58Speaker 3: And it's always the comfort information each and every time
- 18:02Speaker 3: that I do this and each and every guest that
- 18:04Speaker 3: I have, Like we were talking earlier about you doing
- 18:10Speaker 3: a conference that you had submitted a video for and
- 18:13Speaker 3: they didn't accept it, but you're still gonna be accepted
- 18:19Speaker 3: and where God wants you to be where you need
- 18:21Speaker 3: to be and how. And it's like every guest that
- 18:25Speaker 3: I have is the confirmation that I'm doing exactly what.
- 18:30Speaker 5: I'm supposed to be doing.
- 18:31Speaker 3: And it's not by coincidence, it's always by God's design.
- 18:36Speaker 3: And so it's one of those things that if you
- 18:42Speaker 3: are really obedient and really take the time to listen
- 18:46Speaker 3: to what God is telling you, you're never gonna be off.
- 18:50Speaker 5: Course, you know it, make it hard, but go.
- 18:52Speaker 2: Ahead, right.
- 19:06Speaker 4: Right mm hm.
- 19:15Speaker 5: Yes, yes, exactly, yes, mm hmm.
- 19:42Speaker 4: Yeah, hm hm seven on.
- 20:35Speaker 6: One mhm exactly yeah, mh.
- 21:41Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, yes.
- 21:58Speaker 5: That I agree with that one hundred percent.
- 22:00Speaker 3: Said, were there things that you did on a regular
- 22:03Speaker 3: basis that helped you even in those dark times and
- 22:08Speaker 3: those hard moments? And the one thing that you did
- 22:11Speaker 3: say that you went to bed with a grateful heart.
- 22:14Speaker 3: What other things did you do that helped you?
- 22:59Speaker 7: Mm hmm yeah, yeah, uh huh.
- 23:40Speaker 3: I think that plays a major part to having a
- 23:42Speaker 3: great support system because I can say for me, when
- 23:48Speaker 3: I had my stroke and then had my flare up
- 23:52Speaker 3: with my condition and I lost my ability to speak,
- 23:56Speaker 3: it was one of those things where I was able
- 23:59Speaker 3: to Okay, I'm reading a chat in here. I got
- 24:10Speaker 3: something for you at the end, so be excited about that.
- 24:14Speaker 3: But anyway, it was one of those things where my
- 24:19Speaker 3: family was very supportive of me, my children mainly. I
- 24:26Speaker 3: know I'm not the easiest patience when it comes to
- 24:33Speaker 3: doing what I'm supposed to.
- 24:36Speaker 4: At all, So.
- 24:39Speaker 3: My kids were not willing to allow me to sit in.
- 24:45Speaker 5: My misery, so to speak.
- 24:47Speaker 3: And I didn't realize this. This is something I told
- 24:50Speaker 3: my kids when they were younger. And you don't really
- 24:53Speaker 3: think little kids are paying you any attention when you
- 24:55Speaker 3: tell them things, and so I didn't pay it any attention.
- 24:58Speaker 3: So my kids were about out twelve, seven and five,
- 25:03Speaker 3: and so I told them that when you are going
- 25:07Speaker 3: through life, you're gonna have a bunch of emotions that
- 25:09Speaker 3: are going on in life. The one that you spend
- 25:12Speaker 3: the most time in, whether it's happiness, sadness, mad, angry, whatever,
- 25:18Speaker 3: if that's the one that you focus on the most,
- 25:20Speaker 3: to give that energy to that, that's where you're gonna be.
- 25:24Speaker 3: And so when I was going through and I had
- 25:27Speaker 3: lost my ability to speak doctors, not really knowing what's
- 25:30Speaker 3: going on and trying to get answered. I come home
- 25:34Speaker 3: from the doctor, my boys have been outside playing, and
- 25:37Speaker 3: my oldest son came in the house and I was
- 25:40Speaker 3: telling him and then I was so frustrated at them
- 25:43Speaker 3: being upbeat and happy that it was making me angry.
- 25:48Speaker 3: And so my son turns to me and at this time,
- 25:51Speaker 3: he's like thirteen, and he's like, well, it's your fault
- 25:55Speaker 3: that we're this way, and I'm like, what do you
- 25:58Speaker 3: mean it's my fault that y'all are or like this?
- 26:00Speaker 3: He said, you told us that the emotion that we
- 26:04Speaker 3: give the most energy to is the one that controls us.
- 26:07Speaker 3: So either you're gonna be mad about what you're going through,
- 26:10Speaker 3: you're gonna be sad about it, or whatever, but whatever
- 26:13Speaker 3: you choose, it wins. So I'm gonna tell you this.
- 26:18Speaker 3: I'm gonna give you thirty minutes for you to have
- 26:21Speaker 3: your little pity party. After that, we're gonna move on
- 26:24Speaker 3: from this. And I couldn't say anything because number one,
- 26:30Speaker 3: I was shocked that he remembered that I said it.
- 26:32Speaker 3: Number two, I was like, Okay, I guess I got
- 26:39Speaker 3: thirty minutes to get myself together and move on from this.
- 26:44Speaker 3: And that's basically what I did. And it was like, okay,
- 26:49Speaker 3: I have my pity party. And that's really what I
- 26:52Speaker 3: give myself permission to do now is I'll give myself
- 26:55Speaker 3: thirty minutes to feel whatever emotion it is that I'm feeling.
- 26:58Speaker 3: If I feel frustrated, my body's hurting, I'm in a
- 27:01Speaker 3: lot of pain.
- 27:02Speaker 4: I don't know what to do.
- 27:03Speaker 3: This is just too much to bear. I give myself
- 27:06Speaker 3: thirty minutes to feel that. And then it's like, Okay, God,
- 27:09Speaker 3: what is it that I need to do after this?
- 27:12Speaker 3: Because I know my time is not up.
- 27:14Speaker 5: This is not what I need to be doing.
- 27:16Speaker 3: But what's the confirmation that I need to move out
- 27:20Speaker 3: of my little penny party? I can sleep on it tonight.
- 27:23Speaker 3: And so what I've learned for me, and this is
- 27:26Speaker 3: what I do every night is I write in my journal.
- 27:30Speaker 3: I write it's basically like a Dear God letter every
- 27:33Speaker 3: night in my journal. And so I'm like, God, you
- 27:37Speaker 3: know I'm dealing with this. I don't know which way
- 27:39Speaker 3: I'm supposed to go. So I'm going to hand it
- 27:42Speaker 3: to you and then allow you to give me direction.
- 27:45Speaker 3: Now I have to tell you that, God, I'm still
- 27:48Speaker 3: a little stubborn and I'm a little hard headed. And
- 27:51Speaker 3: you know this about me So just if I'm not
- 27:55Speaker 3: doing what exactly you're telling me to do, go ahead
- 27:57Speaker 3: and nudge me and make sure that I stay on
- 27:59Speaker 3: the right, because you know we'll go off on our
- 28:03Speaker 3: own little tangent and trying to do our own little thing.
- 28:06Speaker 3: And God is like, no, you're on the wrong path.
- 28:08Speaker 3: Get back over here, because I didn't tell you to
- 28:10Speaker 3: go down that way. You took a left and I
- 28:12Speaker 3: told you to take a right, So get back over here.
- 28:17Speaker 3: But your story of resilience, not just resilience, but strength,
- 28:25Speaker 3: determination and focus to show that just because it looks
- 28:31Speaker 3: like it's not going to get any better, that there
- 28:34Speaker 3: is more to come and you just got to keep
- 28:37Speaker 3: putting one foot in front of the other. And just
- 28:40Speaker 3: that alone shows that God isn't finished. Just because it
- 28:45Speaker 3: may look like it's over. God has so much more,
- 28:49Speaker 3: And if you trust Him to give you the strength
- 28:52Speaker 3: to get through, He's gonna show you just what you
- 28:55Speaker 3: can do. Because I feel like this God gives us
- 28:58Speaker 3: everything that we need and it's up to us to
- 29:03Speaker 3: figure out what he's placed in us.
- 29:06Speaker 5: And go ahead, mm hm.
- 29:22Speaker 4: Mm hm, yes, yes, yes, h yes, m y mm
- 30:34Speaker 4: hmm mm hm. Yes, it is what you do mm
- 30:49Speaker 4: hm isactly. Yeah. I'm grateful for it.
- 31:16Speaker 5: Because it's like it sounds like.
- 31:22Speaker 4: You never gave in.
- 31:25Speaker 3: Yeah, you were having those moments of God, why me?
- 31:28Speaker 2: Why me?
- 31:29Speaker 3: But you deep down you knew that there was a
- 31:32Speaker 3: greater purpose and you were trying to get God to
- 31:36Speaker 3: tell you in that instant right then, like tell me why.
- 31:41Speaker 4: And yes.
- 31:52Speaker 6: Yeah hm hm.
- 32:10Speaker 4: No right, yeah.
- 32:20Speaker 5: Yeah mm hm.
- 32:34Speaker 4: Real yeah.
- 32:51Speaker 5: Right, yeah, that is the thing, and you I agree
- 33:06Speaker 5: with that one hundred percent.
- 33:07Speaker 3: The reason is because I know when I'm facing opposition
- 33:11Speaker 3: or challenge that and especially if I feel uncomfortable. When
- 33:16Speaker 3: I'm uncomfortable, I know that there is something that God
- 33:19Speaker 3: is about to do. And when I get too comfortable,
- 33:22Speaker 3: it's like, oh, I'm not doing something right. But the
- 33:25Speaker 3: instent i'm uncomfortable, it's.
- 33:27Speaker 5: Like, Okay, God, what is it that I need?
- 33:30Speaker 3: And I say that life is full of puzzle pieces
- 33:33Speaker 3: and each piece is connected to where we're going, you know.
- 33:37Speaker 3: So we got to collect those pieces to the bigger picture.
- 33:41Speaker 3: But if God was to show us everything that we
- 33:44Speaker 3: were going to go through right then when we asked him,
- 33:48Speaker 3: a lot of us would not fall, we would not
- 33:51Speaker 3: follow suit, we would quickly back away because be like, no,
- 33:55Speaker 3: I don't want to go through that. I was telling
- 33:57Speaker 3: my sister the other day. She always wants to get
- 34:01Speaker 3: to the finish line, but she doesn't want to go
- 34:04Speaker 3: through any of the hard stuff to get there. And
- 34:07Speaker 3: I'm like, baby, it doesn't work like that. You may
- 34:09Speaker 3: be wanting to go directly across the street, but to
- 34:13Speaker 3: get there, you gotta go down it's the little embankment.
- 34:16Speaker 3: It's a little steep, little hill.
- 34:18Speaker 5: You know, you got to climb over that.
- 34:19Speaker 3: It might be a puddle at the end of that hill,
- 34:21Speaker 3: so you might get a little dirty, but you still
- 34:24Speaker 3: gotta go across the street. And there's no easy detour
- 34:28Speaker 3: around that. To get across the street. You just gotta
- 34:32Speaker 3: do it. And if you want to get there, you
- 34:34Speaker 3: gotta go through it. And she's like, but since I
- 34:37Speaker 3: don't want to do any of that, no one cares.
- 34:40Speaker 3: If you prayed and ask God to get you where
- 34:43Speaker 3: you want to go, you gotta go through some things.
- 34:46Speaker 3: And she was asked she was frustrated because she was
- 34:50Speaker 3: doing like she had a job or something she was
- 34:53Speaker 3: working with, and she was like, she didn't understand why
- 34:58Speaker 3: she was going through such opposition and so much struggle,
- 35:03Speaker 3: and I was like, well, there's some things that you're
- 35:05Speaker 3: not ready for right now, and since you're not ready
- 35:09Speaker 3: for it, God is putting you through the test in
- 35:12Speaker 3: order to see if you're really ready for it. And
- 35:15Speaker 3: if you keep repeating it over and over again, then
- 35:18Speaker 3: you're not ready. You haven't passed the test. The only
- 35:21Speaker 3: way to get to the other level is if you
- 35:24Speaker 3: pass the test. So if you're repeating it, you're not
- 35:28Speaker 3: passing because you haven't learned the lesson. And God's not
- 35:32Speaker 3: gonna put you in a bigger position if you can't
- 35:35Speaker 3: pass the one that you're on. Okay, okay, hm hm.
- 36:13Speaker 5: Right where.
- 36:33Speaker 4: H yeah, exactly, mm hmm.
- 37:42Speaker 3: It's always good when you know that God has your
- 37:46Speaker 3: back like nobody else. And that's one of the things
- 37:49Speaker 3: that I say that God knows that we're gonna have
- 37:53Speaker 3: our stupid moments and he accounts.
- 37:57Speaker 5: For those for us. Yes, So if you know that
- 38:04Speaker 5: God accounts for your.
- 38:06Speaker 3: Stupid moments, just don't get carried away with making too
- 38:09Speaker 3: many of them.
- 38:11Speaker 5: But He's gonna get you where you need to go.
- 38:14Speaker 3: And sometimes our own stubbornness and our own heardheadedness gets
- 38:19Speaker 3: us in situations where it's like, God, I know I
- 38:22Speaker 3: should have listened to you, but what do I do now?
- 38:25Speaker 5: And He's like, yeah, I knew you were gonna do that.
- 38:27Speaker 5: Just be patient. I got some coming up for you.
- 38:30Speaker 5: Just hold your horses.
- 38:32Speaker 3: And that's usually what happens in those situations.
- 38:38Speaker 8: Yeah, yes, okay, okay, heven hevenen heen.
- 40:20Speaker 5: Oh wow, yes.
- 40:45Speaker 2: It does.
- 40:56Speaker 4: Mm hmm. Yeah.
- 41:01Speaker 5: God has that. He definitely is. But I look at
- 41:12Speaker 5: it like this.
- 41:13Speaker 3: It's like I prayed a prayer in twenty nineteen, and
- 41:16Speaker 3: my prayer was to remove the people who were not
- 41:20Speaker 3: connected to my destiny and bring the people who were connected.
- 41:24Speaker 5: To the plans that he had for me.
- 41:27Speaker 3: And when I tell you, I didn't understand that I
- 41:32Speaker 3: was going to lose people that were important to me,
- 41:35Speaker 3: but I also prayed for me to be okay if
- 41:39Speaker 3: he did remove those people, because they were necessary.
- 41:43Speaker 5: And when I tell you the.
- 41:45Speaker 3: Circle of people that I have around me now, it's
- 41:51Speaker 3: mind blowing because those people bore into me like I
- 41:55Speaker 3: am never depleted, and I can always pick up the
- 41:58Speaker 3: phone or send a text a message, and somebody hears
- 42:02Speaker 3: me when I'm silent. They hear me when they haven't
- 42:06Speaker 3: seen me post on social media. They're checking in, are
- 42:09Speaker 3: you okay? Is anything wrong? You need anything? And sometimes
- 42:13Speaker 3: I might need something. Sometimes I'm just you know, taking
- 42:16Speaker 3: a break from social media. But it's great to have
- 42:20Speaker 3: people like that and having that source of energy that
- 42:27Speaker 3: is positive and being able to speak life into you
- 42:31Speaker 3: versus them focusing on the negative. And I'm in a
- 42:35Speaker 3: space now where if the conversation is more negative, I
- 42:41Speaker 3: remove myself away from it because it's like, you're not
- 42:45Speaker 3: about to get me in that space because I don't
- 42:47Speaker 3: want no parts of it. If we can talk about
- 42:49Speaker 3: something positive, then we can't talk at all, because I
- 42:54Speaker 3: don't got time for it, you.
- 42:55Speaker 5: Know, yes, hm, right.
- 43:23Speaker 4: Right, yeah?
- 43:28Speaker 5: Holding ont of them, Yeah.
- 43:30Speaker 3: Holding on to people that you've probably been friends with
- 43:34Speaker 3: since grade school and things of that nature, people that
- 43:37Speaker 3: you've known your whole life. You have to be okay
- 43:42Speaker 3: when God says it's time to let that person go,
- 43:45Speaker 3: because he knows he hears those conversations that we don't
- 43:48Speaker 3: hear that they're speaking about us, you know, and so
- 43:52Speaker 3: being okay with that. What is something that you want
- 43:55Speaker 3: to leave our guests with tonight? What advice did you.
- 44:00Speaker 5: Leave them with.
- 44:21Speaker 4: Mhm hm h m hm hm.
- 45:08Speaker 5: I like that and that's good advice.
- 45:11Speaker 3: Now, I mentioned to you that I have something for
- 45:14Speaker 3: you and I want to know would you like to
- 45:18Speaker 3: be a speaker at Matters of the Heart that is
- 45:23Speaker 3: coming up.
- 45:24Speaker 4: I believe in April or May, so would.
- 45:33Speaker 3: You want to be a speaker? It's virtual, all right.
- 45:47Speaker 3: I will get you more details later this week on
- 45:52Speaker 3: the date and time and everything, but we would definitely
- 45:55Speaker 3: love to have you.
- 46:09Speaker 5: Listen.
- 46:10Speaker 3: Like I told you at the beginning, it's always a
- 46:13Speaker 3: greater purpose because what may have been a denial in
- 46:18Speaker 3: one sense is always a door opening that God wanted
- 46:21Speaker 3: you to be in a different space. And that's what
- 46:25Speaker 3: it's always about, because God never puts people together that
- 46:29Speaker 3: aren't by his design. And so someone else said no,
- 46:33Speaker 3: but God always says yes.
- 46:36Speaker 5: So that's the thing.
- 46:38Speaker 3: But I want to thank you so much for being
- 46:40Speaker 3: here tonight and sharing your journey and sharing your story
- 46:43Speaker 3: because you definitely reach more people than you ever imagine,
- 46:47Speaker 3: even in passing, you know, just being able to share
- 46:54Speaker 3: and speak and being in your presence sometimes whether you're
- 46:58Speaker 3: saying anything or not, is enough to let them know
- 47:01Speaker 3: that there's a greater on the side of what it
- 47:04Speaker 3: is that they're going through right now. So continue to
- 47:08Speaker 3: be an inspiration, continue to be alike, continue to share
- 47:11Speaker 3: everything that God allows you to share with those who
- 47:14Speaker 3: come in contact. Because I am grateful that you are
- 47:17Speaker 3: here with me tonight. Yes, and you guys, I thank
- 47:34Speaker 3: you for tuning in tonight. And you know I cannot
- 47:37Speaker 3: do anything without saying this one thing, and that is
- 47:40Speaker 3: stay obedient to what God tells you to do. Stay
- 47:43Speaker 3: out of God's business. The only thing he needs you
- 47:45Speaker 3: to do is be obedient to what He's called you
- 47:47Speaker 3: to do until next time.
- 47:49Speaker 5: I'll see you guys.
- 47:50Speaker 3: Back on Thursday, March the twenty seventh, good Night.
- 48:00Speaker 2: It was the firstly used of past
