- Sinner owns Sunday! This is The Sports Reset for Monday, July 13th. In men’s tennis, Jannik Sinner took the Wimbledon final over Alexander Zverev, 6-7, 7-6, 6-3, 6-4, turning a tight opening stretch into a four-set title finish. Zverev made him work early, but Sinner’s response after the first-set tiebreak gave the match its shape, and from there he kept stacking holds and pressure until the finish line. On the PGA Tour, Tom Kim won the Genesis Scottish Open at 17 under, two shots clear of Min Woo Lee, while Steven Fisk took the ISCO Championship at 16 under. In women’s golf, Haeran Ryu won the Amundi Evian Championship at 20 under, one shot ahead of Brooke Henderson. In NASCAR, Ryan Blaney won the Cup Series race at Atlanta, with Christopher Bell second and Carson Hocevar third. In women’s tennis, Mayar Sherif won the Grand Est Open 88, and Tatjana Maria took the Hall of Fame Open. Looking ahead, the Monday board turns to the WNBA, with two regular-season games carrying the night. The Los Angeles Sparks visit the Atlanta Dream at Gateway Center, a clean early-week measuring point for two teams trying to build rhythm before the schedule tightens again. The Sparks get the first chance to set the tone on the road, while the Dream have the home-floor opportunity to turn a Monday game into a useful standings push. Later, the Phoenix Mercury visit the Minnesota Lynx at Target Center, and that is the matchup to watch tonight. Phoenix brings a road test against a Minnesota team that usually makes opponents work deep into possessions, so the first quarter matters: if the Mercury settle in early, the game can open up; if the Lynx control pace at home, the pressure shifts quickly.
