- 0:01Speaker 1: Now on the Voice of New York. It's the Mark
- 0:04Speaker 1: Simone Show on seven tenor Hey it's Friday.
- 0:11Speaker 2: That's good.
- 0:12Speaker 1: Got through the first week of twenty twenty six. We'll
- 0:15Speaker 1: get to Minneapolis. We'll get to Portland, We'll get to CBS,
- 0:18Speaker 1: We'll get to I ran the Ayatolm may be fleeing
- 0:22Speaker 1: at any moment. We'll get to Mom Donnie. We'll get
- 0:25Speaker 1: to a whole lot more coming up this morning. It
- 0:28Speaker 1: is the end of the first week of twenty twenty six.
- 0:32Speaker 1: We made it through all of this. I see dead
- 0:35Speaker 1: Christmas trees all over the sidewalks in New York. People
- 0:38Speaker 1: just toss them out there in the garbage and they're
- 0:40Speaker 1: lying around all over the place there. So it's going
- 0:44Speaker 1: to be warm today, but the rain starts later. It's
- 0:48Speaker 1: going to be a very rainy weekend. But whatever snow
- 0:52Speaker 1: there's left out there somewhere is going to get washed
- 0:54Speaker 1: away this weekend. So President Trump, let's go over everything. Minneapolis.
- 1:02Speaker 1: They've started to identify the ice officer who fired the shots,
- 1:06Speaker 1: his picture, his face, his name all over the internet.
- 1:10Speaker 1: Now you know how the poor woman who got killed,
- 1:14Speaker 1: They would say, well, she was a mother of a
- 1:17Speaker 1: six year old, She was a poet, she was a
- 1:19Speaker 1: wonderful woman. Was also driving a car right into a
- 1:24Speaker 1: bunch of law enforcement officers, trying to terrorize them all day.
- 1:27Speaker 1: It's not just at that moment, but she'd been there
- 1:29Speaker 1: apparently all day, trying to block them, trying to interrupt them,
- 1:33Speaker 1: trying to troll them, going after them. I could see
- 1:37Speaker 1: protesting if you're really upset about something. I could see
- 1:40Speaker 1: getting a sign and standing there waving your sign and
- 1:43Speaker 1: yelling something. But could you imagine ever getting into a
- 1:46Speaker 1: big suv and terrorizing the agents. Could you imagine would
- 1:52Speaker 1: you ever have the nerve to do that? And when
- 1:54Speaker 1: I say terrorizing, I mean she's driving into them, around them.
- 1:57Speaker 1: And if you watch, they don't show you this really
- 2:00Speaker 1: that when they show these videos right before the incident,
- 2:04Speaker 1: it all started. When the ice agents are in a
- 2:07Speaker 1: caravan of cars SUVs, they're coming down the street, right
- 2:10Speaker 1: before all this, she takes her SUV, gets in front
- 2:14Speaker 1: of them and turns the car sideways so that it's
- 2:17Speaker 1: blocking the whole street. Now, usually when you see that happen,
- 2:22Speaker 1: there's a couple of Blue Bloods episodes where you see
- 2:24Speaker 1: that where they're trying to stop Danny Reagan from taking
- 2:27Speaker 1: that witness into court. One suv turns sideways blocks the road.
- 2:31Speaker 1: Another gets behind the caravan blocks them in, so they're
- 2:34Speaker 1: boxed in, and now they start shooting at them. So
- 2:36Speaker 1: if you're these Ice agents and you see this car
- 2:40Speaker 1: ahead of you turn and just sideways block the whole
- 2:44Speaker 1: street so you can't move, your first thought is you're
- 2:47Speaker 1: going to get ambushed. Here there's going to be another
- 2:49Speaker 1: car blocking you from behind. I mean, if I were them,
- 2:52Speaker 1: I would have just rammed right through her and knocked
- 2:54Speaker 1: her car the way, but they instead stopped. They got
- 2:57Speaker 1: out of the car and try to approach her to
- 2:58Speaker 1: see what it was all about. And that's where all
- 3:01Speaker 1: this started. Now you got all these people yelling and screaming.
- 3:04Speaker 1: You got Mamdanni and of course you can always count
- 3:07Speaker 1: on him for the left wing kook response, and he's
- 3:10Speaker 1: yelling murder, murder, murder. You got the Minnesota mayor, who's
- 3:14Speaker 1: not the same thing their own Mandani yelling murder. You
- 3:18Speaker 1: got Tim Waltz, the governor, he wants to try this
- 3:21Speaker 1: cop there. And now there's a couple of things. If
- 3:22Speaker 1: you just go over the facts. Fact number one. This
- 3:26Speaker 1: cop will never ever ever get convicted of anything. He's
- 3:29Speaker 1: totally legally covered, justified. We can go over the reasons
- 3:32Speaker 1: why in a moment, absolutely total legal shooting. Now here's
- 3:37Speaker 1: the other thing. If you talk off the record to
- 3:40Speaker 1: every great law enforcement person, police commissioners, all sorts of
- 3:46Speaker 1: the top top police people, they'll tell you when they've
- 3:49Speaker 1: studied this, it's legally justified. It was legal in firing.
- 3:54Speaker 1: But they'll also tell you off the record, he shouldn't
- 3:56Speaker 1: have fired. You didn't have to fire. He did hit
- 4:00Speaker 1: him with the car. He was in front of it.
- 4:02Speaker 1: She was coming at him. She then tried to turn away,
- 4:06Speaker 1: so you can legally fire at her. But they all
- 4:09Speaker 1: said the same thing. If you were a much smarter cop,
- 4:14Speaker 1: you would have gotten out of the way. You didn't
- 4:16Speaker 1: have to fire. So you don't shoot and kill her.
- 4:19Speaker 1: You just either get the local police to capture her later,
- 4:23Speaker 1: or you chase her and capture He didn't need to
- 4:26Speaker 1: fire the shots. Now, he's legally covered because she did
- 4:30Speaker 1: hit him with the car. You can see that in
- 4:31Speaker 1: the videos from the front. And also if you're watching
- 4:35Speaker 1: Stephen Colbert, you wouldn't know any of this. Last night
- 4:37Speaker 1: he did this whole thing about her. He just shot
- 4:39Speaker 1: her from the side of the car. He was on
- 4:41Speaker 1: the side of the car shooting at her. Now, actually
- 4:43Speaker 1: he was in front of the car for the first shot.
- 4:45Speaker 1: Because the first shot, and this is the key to
- 4:47Speaker 1: everything if it ever were to go into a courtroom,
- 4:50Speaker 1: the first shot goes through the front windshield, and that's
- 4:55Speaker 1: impossible to do if you're on the side of the car.
- 4:58Speaker 1: The first shot goes right through the front windshield. And
- 5:01Speaker 1: that's because he was in front of the car. If
- 5:02Speaker 1: you look at the other videos, which they'd never show you,
- 5:04Speaker 1: from the front the car hit some reason, he's on
- 5:07Speaker 1: the side. The car hit him and knocked him to
- 5:09Speaker 1: the side. But again, he's legally justified. He's legal in
- 5:14Speaker 1: the shooting. But off the record, every law enforcement guy say,
- 5:18Speaker 1: you didn't have to fire those shots. You could have
- 5:19Speaker 1: just let it go. But he will get a federal investigation.
- 5:25Speaker 1: They will not convict him. Even the biggest Trump hating prosecutors,
- 5:31Speaker 1: the Andy McCarthy types, will tell you it's a legally
- 5:34Speaker 1: justified shooting. They can't convict him of anything, but fed's
- 5:38Speaker 1: will go after him. Now, the Minnesota officials, the crazy
- 5:41Speaker 1: left wing mayor and Waltz. They want to try him,
- 5:44Speaker 1: they want to put him on trial, they want to
- 5:45Speaker 1: go after him. It's good for them politically, it's a
- 5:48Speaker 1: good issue for them to latch onto. That's the other
- 5:52Speaker 1: problem with this. It's a terrible incident, tragic, awful, even
- 5:55Speaker 1: though it's legal. It's probably unnecessary, but it's legal. But
- 6:00Speaker 1: if you're a Democrat and you hate Trump and your
- 6:02Speaker 1: whole life is trying to get Trump, this is perfect.
- 6:05Speaker 1: You can use this for the next year, and you
- 6:08Speaker 1: got midterm elections coming up. So if you're a Democrat.
- 6:12Speaker 2: This is great.
- 6:13Speaker 1: This footage the cops shooting the woman. As you read
- 6:16Speaker 1: these articles in the left wing news media, she was
- 6:20Speaker 1: a poet, she was a mother, she was how could
- 6:22Speaker 1: they shoot her? But again, if you're a poet and
- 6:26Speaker 1: a mother, you generally wouldn't be the type would you
- 6:28Speaker 1: to be taking your suv and trying to run over
- 6:31Speaker 1: cops or try to bust up a police operation. That's
- 6:35Speaker 1: highly unusual behavior. But these Democrats, with the rhetoric, these
- 6:40Speaker 1: Colberts and Stephanopoulos's and all the media and all the
- 6:44Speaker 1: Democrats and all the they've riled up these people they've
- 6:48Speaker 1: inflamed them. They've weaponized these white liberal women with their
- 6:53Speaker 1: liberal arts degrees to go crazy. But Tim Waltz, who's
- 6:57Speaker 1: had to withdraw from the governor his race in total disgrace,
- 7:01Speaker 1: This might be a turning point for him. Maybe you
- 7:03Speaker 1: can save himself. That's why he wants to do the investigation.
- 7:06Speaker 3: Yesterday, the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, the BCA spent
- 7:10Speaker 3: the day yesterday attempting to get that accountability. We have
- 7:13Speaker 3: learned that the Trump administration has now denied the state
- 7:16Speaker 3: that ability to participate in the investigation. And I always
- 7:19Speaker 3: want to make this as clear as possible to everyone.
- 7:22Speaker 3: Minnesota must be part of this investigation.
- 7:26Speaker 2: Right now.
- 7:27Speaker 1: Gotta give this guy credit for the first ten seconds.
- 7:29Speaker 1: Boy does he sound.
- 7:30Speaker 3: Official yesterday the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, the bc.
- 7:34Speaker 1: Ooh, the bc other, Minnesota Bureau of Criminal and Apprehension.
- 7:38Speaker 1: It sounds impressive. Then he said, well, wait a minute,
- 7:40Speaker 1: you just had eighteen billions stolen right under your nose.
- 7:43Speaker 1: You didn't even know it, and now that you know
- 7:45Speaker 1: it's stolen, you haven't done a damn thing about it.
- 7:47Speaker 3: A spent the day yesterday attempting to get that accountability.
- 7:50Speaker 1: Accountability, that's that's his middle name, accountability. Again. Eighteen billions stolen.
- 7:56Speaker 1: He didn't notice, he didn't see, he didn't look. Now
- 7:58Speaker 1: that they know it was stolen, and you'll never hear
- 8:01Speaker 1: a word about it from him. He'll never mention. It
- 8:03Speaker 1: looks the other way. So it's it's just silly, it's
- 8:07Speaker 1: just ridiculous. So we'll see what happens. There will be
- 8:12Speaker 1: a federal investigation. Now you got the Portland incident on
- 8:14Speaker 1: top of that, and again it's the same thing. You know,
- 8:18Speaker 1: people weaponizing cars, trying to drive into you don't wherever
- 8:22Speaker 1: there's a shooting, a gun incident, they always call for
- 8:25Speaker 1: banning guns. You've had people use cars now as weapons.
- 8:29Speaker 1: We'll see what happens. Car attacks, now here's here's one
- 8:33Speaker 1: reason the ICE agents are really really on edge over
- 8:37Speaker 1: this attacks with people using cars to run down ICE agents.
- 8:43Speaker 1: Car attacks on ICE agents over the last year are up.
- 8:47Speaker 1: They have spiked up thirty two hundred percent in one year.
- 8:52Speaker 1: Thirty two hundred percent in one year. There's a massive
- 8:56Speaker 1: number of incidents. The one reason this cop was so
- 8:59Speaker 1: quick to fire was months ago he was in another
- 9:04Speaker 1: incident where a car tried to run him down and
- 9:06Speaker 1: the car he got caught with his arm in the car,
- 9:10Speaker 1: and the car dragged him for hundreds and hundreds of feet,
- 9:13Speaker 1: almost tore his arm off. In fact, he was seriously injured.
- 9:17Speaker 1: He had something like forty five stitches and his arm.
- 9:20Speaker 1: He still hasn't gotten full use of his arm. So,
- 9:23Speaker 1: you know, the victim who was shot, you'll hear about
- 9:26Speaker 1: what a wonderful she was, a mother, she was this Well,
- 9:29Speaker 1: you could do the same thing with the cop. Everybody
- 9:31Speaker 1: describes him as a wonderful man, a really kind, wonderful neighbor,
- 9:36Speaker 1: a guy who went to church all the time. And
- 9:38Speaker 1: he's married to an immigrant. You know, he's not an
- 9:41Speaker 1: anti immigrant guy. He's been on the Ice Force for
- 9:44Speaker 1: twelve years. He was, for that, a war veteran, So
- 9:48Speaker 1: I mean, a model citizen. But this will continue. You know,
- 9:55Speaker 1: it doesn't matter what the real deal is. Democrats are
- 9:58Speaker 1: running for mid term aline. They need to use this.
- 10:01Speaker 1: They want to destroy Trump should they take office. They
- 10:04Speaker 1: want to impeach them. This would be perfect. Are they
- 10:06Speaker 1: going to play this up like crazy? You're gonna hear
- 10:10Speaker 1: all about this. You're going to see more rioting. Now,
- 10:12Speaker 1: we hope this doesn't turn out to remember the last
- 10:14Speaker 1: time we had the riots start, it went on for
- 10:16Speaker 1: an entire summer, all through the election year, and this
- 10:20Speaker 1: will be an election year, so you know, you've got
- 10:23Speaker 1: a couple other things going on. The Affordable Care Act
- 10:25Speaker 1: is it turned out this Obamacare, they call it the
- 10:28Speaker 1: Affordable Care Act, but it's not affordable. It turned out
- 10:31Speaker 1: to be a total disaster. Drove the cost of healthcare
- 10:34Speaker 1: up like crazy. So to fix that, the government has
- 10:38Speaker 1: to give you subsidies. It's so unaffordable you have to
- 10:41Speaker 1: get huge government subsidies to pay for it, and those
- 10:45Speaker 1: have expired. That's what the shutdown was all about. So
- 10:48Speaker 1: we're headed to another shutdown in two weeks. About those substies, well,
- 10:53Speaker 1: yesterday this week Congress started to pass the patch for that.
- 10:58Speaker 1: We thought they'd do like a a one year patch
- 11:01Speaker 1: continue the subsidies to give everybody time to figure out
- 11:04Speaker 1: how to fix the system. But instead it was three years,
- 11:07Speaker 1: so for three years the subsidies will continue. Now this
- 11:11Speaker 1: is bad for Democrats in the midterms because if if
- 11:15Speaker 1: the whole thing expired, healthcare costs would have gone way up.
- 11:18Speaker 1: It would have helped Democrats run for the midterms, but
- 11:22Speaker 1: they've lost this issue now by putting in this patch.
- 11:25Speaker 1: So apparently what Democrats want to do is they want
- 11:29Speaker 1: to use these incidents with ice as the big midterm election.
- 11:34Speaker 1: They'll try affordability. But the problem is, and I think
- 11:36Speaker 1: they kind of know this, as we head into the summer,
- 11:39Speaker 1: prices are going to come way down. Inflation has been dropping.
- 11:42Speaker 1: Everything is. Prices have been dropping, the economy has been
- 11:45Speaker 1: picking up steam. The tax cuts from the big beautiful
- 11:48Speaker 1: bill now kick in starting this month. People will be
- 11:51Speaker 1: getting more in their paychecks. So affordability economy, that might
- 11:56Speaker 1: not be the greatest issue. But they're going to use
- 11:58Speaker 1: ice as the midtermshoe. So in fact, they're talking about
- 12:04Speaker 1: maybe another government shutdown over ice, over getting rid of ice.
- 12:08Speaker 1: There'll be a defund the ice movement coming, so keep
- 12:13Speaker 1: an eye out for that.
- 12:14Speaker 2: Hey.
- 12:14Speaker 1: Iran is amazing situation. You know, you've always wanted to
- 12:18Speaker 1: get rid of this iatolem. You always thought, maybe, you know,
- 12:20Speaker 1: if you stir up a rebellion revolution in Iran, maybe
- 12:25Speaker 1: that will put well, we didn't have to do a thing.
- 12:27Speaker 1: It already rows up on its own. The people of
- 12:31Speaker 1: Iran are rebelling like crazy, protesting all of this. It's
- 12:36Speaker 1: gotten so out of hand that Iran has shut down
- 12:40Speaker 1: their internet as a way to stop that. You see
- 12:43Speaker 1: signs now death to the Ayatola, which usually would get
- 12:47Speaker 1: you killed in a second, but the revolution is so
- 12:50Speaker 1: bold right now. They've got these signs up. And apparently
- 12:53Speaker 1: the Ayatola, who's very old, is making plans. He thinks
- 12:58Speaker 1: there's a good chance he may have to flee the
- 13:00Speaker 1: country and leave that the revolution may be successful if
- 13:04Speaker 1: the Iototla leaves. Apparently he's planning to go to Russia
- 13:08Speaker 1: where they will take care of him. And he's got
- 13:12Speaker 1: about twenty people he wants to take with him inner
- 13:14Speaker 1: circle family, so that would be fascinating. He leaves, and
- 13:18Speaker 1: then the revolution, if it's successful, you get a normal government,
- 13:22Speaker 1: normal some kind of sort of democratic government. So you'll
- 13:26Speaker 1: have that in Venezuela, you'll have that in Iran. If
- 13:30Speaker 1: President Trump keeps going on the path he's going on,
- 13:32Speaker 1: you'll probably end up with some kind of democracy in
- 13:35Speaker 1: Cuba Columbia. He'll bring down these dictators. Now, the meeting
- 13:40Speaker 1: is today with all the oil companies. The president wants
- 13:44Speaker 1: the big oil companies to go into Venezuela and fix
- 13:48Speaker 1: the oil, drilling, the infrastructure. It's all decayed and gone. Venezuela,
- 13:54Speaker 1: believe it or not, has twenty percent of the world's oil.
- 13:57Speaker 1: Seventeen trillion in oil is under the ground there, three
- 14:00Speaker 1: hundred billion barrels. They've got more oil than the Saudis do.
- 14:05Speaker 1: So the problem is they don't have any oil industry.
- 14:07Speaker 1: They let all the wells, the infrastructure totally decay. They
- 14:10Speaker 1: can't get it out of the ground. But you send
- 14:13Speaker 1: these oil companies in there. They know want to fix
- 14:15Speaker 1: that stuff. Take a while, but they'll fix it. Get
- 14:17Speaker 1: the oil pumping, and then Venezuela could not only be
- 14:20Speaker 1: a democracy, it could be the most wealthy, booming economy
- 14:24Speaker 1: as it was way back when before the socialists came in.
- 14:27Speaker 1: Now here's the only catch. President has the oil company
- 14:30Speaker 1: executives coming in today to talk to them about going
- 14:34Speaker 1: down there and fixing everything. Now, they would love to
- 14:36Speaker 1: do this because you can make a lot of money
- 14:38Speaker 1: pumping all that oil.
- 14:40Speaker 2: But and they're gonna.
- 14:43Speaker 1: Be very careful with the President. They're not going to
- 14:44Speaker 1: really come out and say this. They're going to kind
- 14:46Speaker 1: of stall for time. Because they don't really want to
- 14:49Speaker 1: go in there. Here's the problem, and they're not wrong
- 14:52Speaker 1: about this. It'd be great if Trump's in office. They
- 14:55Speaker 1: will go down there, fix the oil, infrastructure, oil beflow,
- 14:59Speaker 1: everything great. But they got to think to them, so, well,
- 15:03Speaker 1: what if the Republicans lose Congress in November, what if
- 15:07Speaker 1: Democrats take over? They won't pack us up. We won't
- 15:09Speaker 1: get the protection we need, the money we need. And
- 15:12Speaker 1: then they got to think, what if in a couple
- 15:14Speaker 1: of years that Democrats take the White House, if it's
- 15:16Speaker 1: a democratic government, they'll be stuck down there in Venezuela
- 15:20Speaker 1: without the federal backup and protection. So they're not too
- 15:23Speaker 1: crazy about going in there right now. So, hey, we
- 15:26Speaker 1: got a lot to get to this hour. Oh we'll
- 15:28Speaker 1: get to CBS that Barry Weiss, the new person running it,
- 15:32Speaker 1: is cleaning things up. That Evening News now is a
- 15:35Speaker 1: little more balanced. And apparently she's all over sixty minutes
- 15:40Speaker 1: stopping some of their stories because they're totally unbalanced, letting
- 15:45Speaker 1: some of their stories go if they agree to put
- 15:47Speaker 1: in both sides. This has got CBS people very upset.
- 15:51Speaker 1: So we'll get to that in a lot more coming up.
- 15:54Speaker 1: We'll take some calls. Next, eight hundred three to two
- 15:57Speaker 1: one zero seven ten is the number one hundred three
- 16:01Speaker 1: to two one zero seven ten. Now back to the
- 16:04Speaker 1: Montimone show on WR Hey, let's take some calls. Eight
- 16:10Speaker 1: hundred three to two one zero seven ten is the
- 16:13Speaker 1: number eight hundred three two one zero seven ten. Let's
- 16:17Speaker 1: go to Shelley in Long Island. Shelley, how you doing.
- 16:21Speaker 4: Hey, good morning?
- 16:22Speaker 2: Mark.
- 16:22Speaker 4: Loved the show. Mark. We have not seen one high
- 16:26Speaker 4: profile arrest. Day after day we see governors, mayors threaten
- 16:31Speaker 4: the President and I and no one gets arrested. It's
- 16:35Speaker 4: so fatiguing arrest.
- 16:36Speaker 1: Governors and mayors and I can't arrest them. They're allowed
- 16:39Speaker 1: to be idiots. It's not a crime to be stupid.
- 16:43Speaker 4: So why are we going to see a high profile
- 16:45Speaker 4: arrest any any time?
- 16:47Speaker 1: I think you saw on Saturday Maduro that was pretty
- 16:49Speaker 1: high profile.
- 16:51Speaker 4: Well, I mean in the United States.
- 16:53Speaker 1: Well you've seen the Letitia James and she's beaten the
- 16:57Speaker 1: last couple of charges, but they'll get her eventually.
- 17:00Speaker 4: All Right, Okay, you think you're sing positive. I'm trying
- 17:03Speaker 4: to stay positive here, but I don't know. I feel
- 17:05Speaker 4: like we keep getting defeated.
- 17:07Speaker 1: But I don't know, who do you want arrested? I mean,
- 17:09Speaker 1: look at look at Ice. They've arrested something like three
- 17:12Speaker 1: hundred thousand illegals.
- 17:13Speaker 5: That's pretty good, right, I don't know.
- 17:16Speaker 4: I guess these mayors, these governors.
- 17:18Speaker 1: Who are But you can't arrest somebody for being an idiot,
- 17:22Speaker 1: for being crazy. You can't arrest them. But thanks for calling.
- 17:26Speaker 1: Let's go to Mike in Florida. Mike, how you doing,
- 17:29Speaker 1: Good morning, Mark, that's Mike.
- 17:32Speaker 6: One of the things I always find interesting about these
- 17:34Speaker 6: stories like the Minnesota shooting is well, first of all,
- 17:37Speaker 6: the Democrats lovet is. Jane Fonder reminded us. They love
- 17:40Speaker 6: these kinds of things because they can make hay from it.
- 17:43Speaker 6: But it's also the takes people have that it's like
- 17:46Speaker 6: some random event, like she was out looking for a
- 17:49Speaker 6: loaf of bread and she got lost and she was
- 17:50Speaker 6: shot by this you know, by this rogue cop. You know,
- 17:54Speaker 6: these the cops have intel, they know what's going on
- 17:57Speaker 6: the other side. Is there for reasons? And I wouldn't
- 18:00Speaker 6: put it past the Democrats in the left hope that
- 18:03Speaker 6: somebody gets shot because then they have fodder for their
- 18:07Speaker 6: you know, like you said, riots all summer, you know,
- 18:10Speaker 6: and that unnerves the voting public.
- 18:12Speaker 1: As I said, again, if you're a left wing crazy
- 18:15Speaker 1: uh liberal, that's fine. And if you want to get
- 18:18Speaker 1: a sign and go protest ice and put a sign,
- 18:21Speaker 1: call on them all kinds of names you want to
- 18:22Speaker 1: scream at them, that's great, that's fine. But who think
- 18:27Speaker 1: I'll take my big SUV and just drive right into them.
- 18:29Speaker 6: I'll block their up exactly exactly. And and like you said,
- 18:33Speaker 6: there's been enough tick of three thousand percent, so it's
- 18:36Speaker 6: a planned saying.
- 18:38Speaker 1: All right, well, thanks for calling. Somebody put out a
- 18:40Speaker 1: book called how Not to Get Shot by Ice. It's
- 18:45Speaker 1: one page. The one page says don't run your car
- 18:48Speaker 1: into them. It's pretty much that simple. Let's go to
- 18:51Speaker 1: Bob Montvale, New Jersey.
- 18:53Speaker 5: Thanks Mark for taking my call. But this Minnesota thing
- 18:57Speaker 5: is interesting because it brings into play like child's care.
- 19:02Speaker 5: The reportal is in the post, so that the childcare center,
- 19:05Speaker 5: it was like the meeting point for this group. Interesting,
- 19:09Speaker 5: isn't it? So here for their childcare is bogus and
- 19:12Speaker 5: the other half is tainting little children.
- 19:15Speaker 1: And yeah, well, in their defense, the childcare centers had
- 19:18Speaker 1: no children in them. They were empty, so I might
- 19:20Speaker 1: as well rent them out to crazy left wing protesters
- 19:23Speaker 1: do something with them. Let's go to Michael in beautiful
- 19:25Speaker 1: Oyster Bay. Michael, how you doing?
- 19:28Speaker 2: Oh good? How are you?
- 19:29Speaker 1: I'm good.
- 19:31Speaker 6: Twenty thirteen, there was a shooting at the Capitol. I
- 19:34Speaker 6: don't know if you remember the woman who hit a
- 19:36Speaker 6: Capitol police officer near the White House, kept driving towards
- 19:39Speaker 6: the Capital.
- 19:39Speaker 2: Yeah, get a baby in the car.
- 19:41Speaker 6: They shattered dead. No, no, no question that.
- 19:43Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 19:44Speaker 1: Well, it depends if you're a Democrat.
- 19:45Speaker 2: It's bad.
- 19:47Speaker 1: It's good a republic and it's bad. It depends. You
- 19:50Speaker 1: got to d buy your name. You get a democratic
- 19:53Speaker 1: community on those things. Let's go to sewn in New Jersey. Sean,
- 19:56Speaker 1: how you doing?
- 19:57Speaker 6: Good morning, Mark, very well. See. I don't know why
- 20:01Speaker 6: we keep using the word that this was a tragedy.
- 20:04Speaker 6: It's terrible. We never want someone being killed or shot,
- 20:08Speaker 6: but this wasn't an innocent person. If a bystander, if
- 20:12Speaker 6: a protest and that's just standing there holding a sign
- 20:14Speaker 6: like you said, got shot and killed, that's a tragedy.
- 20:17Speaker 6: If I took my car out right now and try
- 20:19Speaker 6: to run over a police officer and I got shot.
- 20:20Speaker 6: No one would say it's a tragedy. This is not
- 20:23Speaker 6: a tragedy'ble.
- 20:24Speaker 1: Again, it depends are you a Democrat, are you a Republican.
- 20:27Speaker 1: If she's a Democrat, it's a tragedy. If you're a publican,
- 20:30Speaker 1: if you're Ashley Babbitt, good exactly. Hey I'm not exaggerating,
- 20:35Speaker 1: by the way, go look at my Twitter. We found
- 20:36Speaker 1: these Keith Oberman tweets. When Ashley Babbitt, the war veteran,
- 20:40Speaker 1: was shot for no reason by a cop. Oberman is
- 20:44Speaker 1: tweeting justice has been done, but with this case murder
- 20:50Speaker 1: of a Yeah, that's psycho Keith Oberman. He's still out there,
- 20:54Speaker 1: but he sometimes tweets from the unemployment line and puts
- 20:58Speaker 1: those crazy things up. Yeah, it's just I mean, listen,
- 21:01Speaker 1: it's one thing to rile up your base. It's one
- 21:03Speaker 1: thing to weaponize these angry white liberal women with the
- 21:07Speaker 1: liberal arts degrees, with the nose rings. It's one thing
- 21:10Speaker 1: to rile them up. But to get them to start
- 21:12Speaker 1: using their SUVs they're soccer mom SUVs to run over
- 21:17Speaker 1: police or try to drive right into the middle of
- 21:19Speaker 1: a police operation and bust It's insane. It's crazy. And
- 21:24Speaker 1: again these suv trying to hit the police. Those incidents
- 21:28Speaker 1: are up thirty two hundred thirty two hundred percent in
- 21:33Speaker 1: the last year. Hey, when we come back, some entertainment news. Actually,
- 21:37Speaker 1: we'll talk to Roger Friedman. I got a lot of
- 21:38Speaker 1: things to talk to him about. We'll get to Nick Reiner,
- 21:41Speaker 1: and we'll get to Marty Supreme and a whole lot
- 21:44Speaker 1: more coming up on seven to ten wor.
- 21:48Speaker 4: This is to the Mark Somemon Show on seventen wor.
- 21:56Speaker 1: Well, we'll talk to Roger in a moment. We're all
- 21:59Speaker 1: hunting for as we speak. Little controversy yesterday the Health
- 22:05Speaker 1: and Human Services, you know, the Robert F. Kennedy and
- 22:08Speaker 1: doctor Oz was there, Brooke Rollins for this thing. They
- 22:11Speaker 1: redid the food pyramid. I don't know if it's good
- 22:14Speaker 1: or bad. But do you know anybody actually looks at
- 22:17Speaker 1: this food pyramid? Do you know anybody that follows the
- 22:19Speaker 1: before you eat these say, let me check that food pyramid.
- 22:22Speaker 1: So they want you to eat more protein. The good
- 22:24Speaker 1: part is less sugar. That's the good part. We'll get
- 22:26Speaker 1: back to that anyway. But Roger Friedman, the Great entertainment reporter,
- 22:30Speaker 1: his website. You should check it every day. There's always
- 22:32Speaker 1: great stories. Showbiz for one dot com, Showbiz for one
- 22:37Speaker 1: dot com. Roger Friedman, how you doing. I'm great, Good morning.
- 22:42Speaker 1: How are you good? Hey. We haven't talked to a
- 22:44Speaker 1: couple of weeks. I got to catch up on a
- 22:45Speaker 1: few things. One Okay, Marty Supreme. They talked about it
- 22:50Speaker 1: as the biggest movie of the year. It's doing okay, but.
- 22:53Speaker 2: It's doing great. Did you see that I used your picture? Yeah,
- 22:58Speaker 2: and I featured.
- 22:59Speaker 1: You know, it was great. I actually knew the real
- 23:02Speaker 1: Marty Supreme, who, by the way, had nothing to do
- 23:05Speaker 1: with this movie. He was the ping pong champion.
- 23:08Speaker 7: But this stuff that they was inspired by him, the
- 23:11Speaker 7: idea movie is inspired by him.
- 23:13Speaker 1: Yeah, but with the chasing, the women, the gangsters, the shootings,
- 23:16Speaker 1: the car chases, none of that really happened with him.
- 23:18Speaker 1: He was actually a pretty boring guy in real life.
- 23:23Speaker 1: But I'm looking at the box office. It's always like
- 23:26Speaker 1: number two or three. It's not like number one.
- 23:28Speaker 2: Every week.
- 23:29Speaker 7: Well, you know, Avatar is out, so that's like the
- 23:33Speaker 7: big commercial movie at the moment. But Marty Supreme is
- 23:37Speaker 7: up to like sixteen million dollars. I think after just
- 23:41Speaker 7: a couple of weeks, that's great. Are you kidding? Okay,
- 23:43Speaker 7: that's wonderful.
- 23:44Speaker 1: It's a great movie.
- 23:45Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean it's actual a great movie.
- 23:48Speaker 1: Everybody should go see it. When does it start streaming
- 23:50Speaker 1: because some people wait for that.
- 23:52Speaker 2: Oh it's not. It's a sixty one million.
- 23:55Speaker 7: That's fantastic after twenty days, and the first few days
- 23:58Speaker 7: were not really they were just in two theaters. No,
- 24:03Speaker 7: it's doing great. It won't be streaming for a long time.
- 24:07Speaker 7: It's got to get through the awards season. You know,
- 24:10Speaker 7: Tomorrow Sunday night is the Golden Globes. This past weekend
- 24:14Speaker 7: was the Critics' Choice Awards, which he won Timothy Challamay.
- 24:19Speaker 7: And then we're gonna have the Golden Globes. Then we're
- 24:22Speaker 7: gonna have Oscar nominations. Then we're going to have things
- 24:25Speaker 7: like the SAG Awards, and then finally the Oscars on
- 24:28Speaker 7: March fifteenth. I don't think you'll see Marty Supreme streaming
- 24:32Speaker 7: until after March fifteenth, but that's not bad it Eventually
- 24:37Speaker 7: it'll get there. But the two big movies of this
- 24:40Speaker 7: Oscar season are Marty Supreme and One Battle after Another,
- 24:45Speaker 7: and they're going to battle for the Oscar. I think
- 24:49Speaker 7: one battle will win the Oscar mar and Timothy Challey
- 24:52Speaker 7: will win the Best Actor award.
- 24:55Speaker 6: It is.
- 24:56Speaker 1: It is a great movie. Everybody should go see Marty Supreme.
- 24:59Speaker 1: You love it.
- 25:00Speaker 2: It's a great movie.
- 25:01Speaker 7: And it's funny because after you said you knew him
- 25:03Speaker 7: and you had pictures, a few other people turned up
- 25:07Speaker 7: in the papers saying that they had known him also,
- 25:10Speaker 7: and one of them was Tina Brown, whose husband, Harry Evans,
- 25:14Speaker 7: the famous editor, was sort of like my mentor. And
- 25:17Speaker 7: I had no idea that Marty Riceman had written a
- 25:22Speaker 7: second book that was never been published, and he wanted
- 25:26Speaker 7: Harry Evans to publish at a random house. So he
- 25:28Speaker 7: kept going to and Harry put a ping pong table
- 25:31Speaker 7: in his basement on fifty seventh Street, and Marty was
- 25:35Speaker 7: going over there and playing ping pong to the disgust
- 25:39Speaker 7: of Tita Brown, who didn't like him and didn't want
- 25:41Speaker 7: him in her house. But Harry loved it, and all
- 25:45Speaker 7: they did was play ping pong night and day.
- 25:47Speaker 1: Yeah, he was an incredible ping pong player. Otherwise kind
- 25:50Speaker 1: of a dull and annoying sort of a guy, kind
- 25:52Speaker 1: of a little sweetie.
- 25:57Speaker 7: You could start of see that in the movie, actually concernacy.
- 26:00Speaker 7: As he got older, this would wear thin, you know.
- 26:03Speaker 2: Yeah, it was.
- 26:04Speaker 1: You know that the behavior's cute when you're twenty two,
- 26:07Speaker 1: when you're fifty two, right, that's cute.
- 26:10Speaker 2: Right now.
- 26:11Speaker 1: The other thing we haven't talked about it tell us
- 26:12Speaker 1: about what you know about Nick Reiner, Rob Reiner, the
- 26:15Speaker 1: whole situation.
- 26:17Speaker 2: I don't know anything more than you do.
- 26:18Speaker 7: It's such a tragic story because Rob Reiner, who I knew,
- 26:23Speaker 7: and his wife Michelle, who I also knew, were just
- 26:26Speaker 7: the greatest people. And apparently they were living with this
- 26:30Speaker 7: incredible catastrophe in their house and didn't really know what
- 26:34Speaker 7: to do, and they were doing the best they could,
- 26:37Speaker 7: and they thought, well, just you know, keep giving him
- 26:39Speaker 7: money and love and it'll turn around. And obviously the
- 26:42Speaker 7: kid was really sick.
- 26:44Speaker 2: So now he's lost his lawyer.
- 26:48Speaker 7: His lawyer withdrew from the case this week and he's
- 26:52Speaker 7: going to have a public defender. And the lawyer didn't
- 26:54Speaker 7: say why, but my guess is that the brother and
- 26:59Speaker 7: sisters not pay for the defense. This lawyer, his name
- 27:03Speaker 7: is Alan Jackson, probably costs one thousand dollars an hour
- 27:06Speaker 7: or whatever. And if you it's a tragic thing. Can
- 27:09Speaker 7: you imagine that your sibling kills your parents and then
- 27:12Speaker 7: comes to you and says, will you pay for my defense?
- 27:15Speaker 2: And what are you going to do? You know?
- 27:17Speaker 7: And I think that probably they've decided they're not going
- 27:19Speaker 7: to pay for the defense anyway. He's going to wind
- 27:21Speaker 7: up in a mental hospital some kind and they're going
- 27:25Speaker 7: to plead insanity and and it's horrible.
- 27:28Speaker 2: He's ruined all of their lives.
- 27:30Speaker 1: Apparently, apparently he's officially been diagnosed with being a schizophrenic,
- 27:35Speaker 1: and a couple of criminal lawyers told me, you have
- 27:37Speaker 1: to withdraw it because you can't deal with schizophrenics as
- 27:40Speaker 1: a lawyer.
- 27:41Speaker 2: Also, you need two lawyers. Actually, right, is it too
- 27:49Speaker 2: soon for jokes?
- 27:52Speaker 1: But now apparently the family has said they do not
- 27:55Speaker 1: want the death penalty. They've asked the DA and the d.
- 27:59Speaker 2: They don't about the death penalty for their brother.
- 28:02Speaker 1: Yeah, but the DA has said the wishes of the
- 28:04Speaker 1: family will be paramount to his decision, so they will
- 28:07Speaker 1: not seek the death penalty.
- 28:09Speaker 7: No, he's going to go to jail for the rest
- 28:11Speaker 7: of his life and he'll probably he'll die in jail.
- 28:13Speaker 7: And maybe it'll be a hospital jail because he's you know,
- 28:16Speaker 7: obviously very very very sick guy. But what he's done
- 28:21Speaker 7: is just it's unforgivable. They'll never be able to forgive
- 28:24Speaker 7: him for this, and it must be the winding down
- 28:28Speaker 7: of any state when a person is older is a
- 28:31Speaker 7: very difficult thing. That you realize that Rob Bryer was
- 28:34Speaker 7: at the height of his careers, so this must be
- 28:38Speaker 7: for these kids to have to deal with this now
- 28:41Speaker 7: is just the worst thing ever.
- 28:42Speaker 2: It's unimaginable.
- 28:44Speaker 1: Hey, let's talk about Bruno Mars. It was always a
- 28:47Speaker 1: very big deal, but somehow he got hotter than ever
- 28:49Speaker 1: and now he's announced he's going to play stadiums. How
- 28:51Speaker 1: did he get so much hotter.
- 28:52Speaker 2: All of a sudden. No, he's been hot for a while.
- 28:55Speaker 2: You know. He had this.
- 28:57Speaker 7: Huge hit with Lady Gaga over the last year. It's
- 29:00Speaker 7: a massive hit. It's called Die with a Smile. It's
- 29:03Speaker 7: a ballad and it's actually the biggest record of the
- 29:06Speaker 7: last year and a half, so that's really helps him.
- 29:10Speaker 2: He also had a.
- 29:11Speaker 7: Hit with one of the young women from Black Pink
- 29:14Speaker 7: and the Korean pop so it really reignited these two things.
- 29:18Speaker 2: Really reignited him.
- 29:19Speaker 7: So he's made a new album that's coming out of
- 29:22Speaker 7: February twenty seventh, and last night he dropped a new single,
- 29:26Speaker 7: and he's apparently in a fight online with one of
- 29:29Speaker 7: his fans, who said on Twitter. The fan said, this
- 29:34Speaker 7: guy puts out the same song all the time and
- 29:36Speaker 7: no one ever says anything, and Bretobar has attacked him
- 29:41Speaker 7: personally back on Twitter, which was hilarious. But I have
- 29:45Speaker 7: to say the song, which I can't remember, I think
- 29:48Speaker 7: it's called It Just Might, and it's a dance song
- 29:51Speaker 7: and it's fun. It sounds exactly like Leo Sayer's You
- 29:57Speaker 7: Make Me Feel Like Dancing, exact same song. And this
- 30:02Speaker 7: is not the first time Bruno Mars has done this.
- 30:04Speaker 7: He did their song early in his career. I can't
- 30:07Speaker 7: read the name of it. It sounded like the Police
- 30:10Speaker 7: would sting. Every time I started playing, you thought, oh,
- 30:13Speaker 7: this is the Police. Bruno Mars is very good at
- 30:16Speaker 7: sort of copying other people's styles and then adding a
- 30:19Speaker 7: little bit of something else to make it sound new.
- 30:21Speaker 7: But he's fun, you know, he's a fun guy. He
- 30:24Speaker 7: has a great voice, and I don't mind him doing
- 30:28Speaker 7: that and Sting say at the time. I don't care.
- 30:30Speaker 7: Do whatever you want. I don't know what Leo Sayer
- 30:33Speaker 7: will say when he hears this, but I played it.
- 30:35Speaker 7: It dropped on Spotify about twelve thirty last night, and
- 30:38Speaker 7: I said, I'd better listen to this, and I'm like,
- 30:40Speaker 7: this sounds like something I know very much. So but
- 30:44Speaker 7: he's but Bruno, let's.
- 30:46Speaker 2: See, is he I'll tell you right now. Is it
- 30:47Speaker 2: a hit?
- 30:48Speaker 7: Probably it's probably number one, because you know, his people
- 30:50Speaker 7: don't even know who leos Aya was. Yeah, you know
- 30:53Speaker 7: his fans, they have no idea.
- 30:55Speaker 1: No, he had a bunch of hits mid seventies. Is
- 30:57Speaker 1: he still alive? I assuming, of course he is.
- 31:00Speaker 2: You know, I'll tell you.
- 31:01Speaker 7: I'll tell you something about Bruno Mars that is smart.
- 31:04Speaker 7: They booked him this big tour. It's number six. They
- 31:07Speaker 7: booked him this big tour. But it's not he's not
- 31:09Speaker 7: going out on his own, which is really smart. He's
- 31:12Speaker 7: going out with four other R and B stars, Let's
- 31:16Speaker 7: Girl Ray and Leon Thomas. And this is what you
- 31:20Speaker 7: have to do now because people cannot fill these stadiums
- 31:24Speaker 7: at these prices, so the tickets are so jacked up,
- 31:29Speaker 7: and you've seen a lot of calamities of tours where
- 31:32Speaker 7: you know there's like large empty areas of stadiums. So
- 31:37Speaker 7: I think that it's Bruno Marster. I really want to
- 31:39Speaker 7: see it at this Bruno Mars tour. I think it's
- 31:41Speaker 7: going to be great.
- 31:42Speaker 1: Well, you could have large empty areas if you're met life.
- 31:45Speaker 1: Jets are used to it.
- 31:46Speaker 2: Giants are used to it. A lot of empty areas in.
- 31:48Speaker 7: The well the giants. Maybe you're picking up some esteem though,
- 31:52Speaker 7: aren't they.
- 31:53Speaker 1: That's when you know you're bad. When when when you
- 31:56Speaker 1: go four and thirteen they think it was a great season,
- 31:58Speaker 1: you know you're in trouble.
- 32:00Speaker 7: So you know you're only good as you're only as
- 32:02Speaker 7: good as your last game.
- 32:03Speaker 1: Yeah, well, Roger Friedman great stuff. Check out his website.
- 32:08Speaker 1: And then there's new stories every day Showbiz four week.
- 32:11Speaker 2: I just put up a story.
- 32:12Speaker 7: I just put up a story about the Golden Globes,
- 32:14Speaker 7: which are this Sunday, and how it's changed. There's used
- 32:17Speaker 7: to be all these great Golden Globe parties and of
- 32:20Speaker 7: course it's all everything is diminished now And if you
- 32:25Speaker 7: want to read, I think it's a pretty fun story
- 32:27Speaker 7: to read about all the Golden Globe stories on Golden
- 32:30Speaker 7: Globe parties.
- 32:31Speaker 2: I've been to all right.
- 32:32Speaker 1: Yeah, go to Showbiz four one one dot com. Showbiz
- 32:36Speaker 1: four one one dot com. Roger Friedman, thanks for being
- 32:39Speaker 1: with us.
- 32:40Speaker 2: Thank you.
- 32:40Speaker 1: I take care. Hey, don't forget Noon today, Buck and Clay.
- 32:44Speaker 1: I love their show every day from noon to three.
- 32:46Speaker 1: Then you got the most listened to radio show in America.
- 32:49Speaker 1: Sean Hannity, big exclusive interview with President Trump. He'll be
- 32:53Speaker 1: talking about that. And then Jesse Kelly at six and
- 32:56Speaker 1: When a great show. You should hear this every night
- 32:59Speaker 1: at nine. Me Faila on seven to ten, wr.
- 33:03Speaker 2: Miaster New York MARKSIMO on seven ten.
- 33:07Speaker 1: Woor well, hey, we got another hour ago.
- 33:11Speaker 2: It's Friday.
- 33:11Speaker 1: We made it through the first week of twenty twenty six,
- 33:16Speaker 1: and that's that's pretty good. Now it's gonna be rainy
- 33:18Speaker 1: all weekend, but it's gonna be warm. If you got
- 33:22Speaker 1: any snow left, If you're right in the city, there's
- 33:24Speaker 1: no snow. But if you're out there in the suburbs
- 33:26Speaker 1: or further out, you got the snow. It'll all be
- 33:28Speaker 1: gone by Sunday. Warm temperatures, lots of rain. It's gonna
- 33:32Speaker 1: be heavy rain tomorrow that'll get rid of it once
