- speaker-0: To be clear, I think your identity is given. I don't think anybody gets to choose it. It's like gravity. And so that's the biggest gift you can have as a Christian. And most Christians are still walking around misunderstanding that. speaker-1: What do you feel is the biggest challenge that young are facing right now? speaker-0: Young adult Christians are Answer, huh? tense. Not getting Yeah, I think I think I think the big I I think I'm gonna go broad and then deeper, right? Okay, so so so the big one is this idea of both identity and calling. ⁓ and we talked about this earlier. They get mixed up and think they can do anything, so they have to do all these important things and tell people telling it to find that hidden the heart. That causes a lot of stress, and then that flows into this misunderstanding that they have to choose their identity. To be clear, I think your identity is given. I don't think anybody gets to choose it. It's like gravity. And so that's the biggest gift you can have as a Christian. And most Christians are still walking around misunderstanding that. Secondly, is is that ex gets exacerbated then by technology that really hurts relationships. And then and I and I hate to do this on a quick answer, but to go deep, ⁓ I I watch particularly pornography and and gaming addictions wreck so many lives of young men because the two things that God has given to men, the the level, the desire to want to achieve. And the desire to create both get extremely twisted in those two things and it makes it false. So there's an illusion that you are achieving in a game and you're creating through the addiction of pornography ⁓ in a way that keeps you from doing either. And then that creates this tight loop of identity and and vocation. Like that actually exacerbates and makes all those things worse and causes those young adults to really spiral in a way that I think is quite tragic. Those are not small problems. But there are problems that have answers. And so for our young those listening to it, what I wanna say is that okay, that that's a common thing. So you're not alone. And also there are answers to this.
