- 0:10Speaker 1: Warning, The Root, The Root, the Roots on fire.
- 0:14Speaker 2: You're about to experience the most high octane, pedal to
- 0:16Speaker 2: the metal controversial show of your life. Please buckle up
- 0:20Speaker 2: and hold on tightly. This station is not responsible for injuries.
- 0:24Speaker 2: This is Wayne Alan Root, direct from the entertainment capital
- 0:27Speaker 2: of the world, Las Vegas.
- 0:29Speaker 1: What time is it? It's time war War. Here's your host.
- 0:35Speaker 2: One hundred percent raw Truth, one hundred percent American made
- 0:39Speaker 2: the Warrior, Wayne Alan Root.
- 0:57Speaker 1: Howry do I go, Ladies and gentlemen, our two on
- 1:00Speaker 1: the route reaction. I'm a little more calm. I won't
- 1:03Speaker 1: continue to go over this, but I had a little
- 1:05Speaker 1: bit of a in studio, not a meltdown. Just I
- 1:09Speaker 1: don't again. I'm gonna go back to it. I can't
- 1:10Speaker 1: help it. It's just going to be in my head.
- 1:12Speaker 1: I don't get technology. I never will. But anyway, my
- 1:15Speaker 1: name is Lee Elsie. I appreciate you very much for
- 1:18Speaker 1: being part of the show, being here for the entire
- 1:20Speaker 1: couple of hours that we're broadcasting on this amazing network. Right, so,
- 1:25Speaker 1: you've got Untamed Nation dot com. You can watch. You
- 1:28Speaker 1: can watch on Rumble, you can watch on x, you
- 1:30Speaker 1: can watch on Getter at real Wayne route. Now, why
- 1:34Speaker 1: isn't Wayne here? Well, Wayne's down in Florida at mar
- 1:37Speaker 1: A Lago right about now. He's probably all up in
- 1:40Speaker 1: the tux seedo. Maybe this thing had to product probably
- 1:44Speaker 1: already start right by now. Sure, and probably he's out
- 1:46Speaker 1: there given a speech or two, shaking hands, doing all
- 1:49Speaker 1: of that. But he's down at a big Lincoln Day
- 1:52Speaker 1: dinner in mari Lago with President of the United States
- 1:56Speaker 1: Donald Trump. And again he is the master of ceremonies.
- 1:59Speaker 1: So you get your truly tonight. And we had a
- 2:02Speaker 1: little bit of a rocky beginning, but we're going to
- 2:04Speaker 1: give you a couple at least an hour here of
- 2:07Speaker 1: a NonStop hopefully hopefully radio and television entertainment as best
- 2:11Speaker 1: I can do. So I listen, it's the end of
- 2:13Speaker 1: the week. I've been broadcasting constantly for seemingly all five days.
- 2:17Speaker 1: So I'm going to up the ante here, and I
- 2:22Speaker 1: want to talk a little bit about freedom again, because
- 2:26Speaker 1: we didn't really get a good chance to talk about that,
- 2:28Speaker 1: or at least some of the things that are protected,
- 2:30Speaker 1: some of the key freedoms that are protected in the
- 2:33Speaker 1: United States, things that you don't get necessarily in other countries.
- 2:37Speaker 1: Freedom of speech. You have a right that most people
- 2:43Speaker 1: do not get a chance to celebrate. You understand that
- 2:46Speaker 1: the protection of the First Amendment allows you to express
- 2:51Speaker 1: opinions without government interference. It allows me to be on
- 2:55Speaker 1: all of these networks tonight and talk about the chaos
- 3:01Speaker 1: that is happening in this country. It allows individuals to
- 3:06Speaker 1: express opinions, again, no interference, no government stuff, all of that.
- 3:12Speaker 1: And again that doesn't happen everywhere. Colonial America faced censorship
- 3:20Speaker 1: under British rule. Freedom of speech became a rallying cry
- 3:25Speaker 1: for all of the patriots. That was the difference man,
- 3:28Speaker 1: being able to speak your mind, being able to get
- 3:31Speaker 1: on a corner and talk in a town square about
- 3:36Speaker 1: all kinds of different things that maybe England wasn't four
- 3:42Speaker 1: And in countries like China or North Korea, speech is
- 3:45Speaker 1: heavily censored and dissent is punished. Here it's it's almost
- 3:51Speaker 1: celebrate celebrated, I guess to a certain extent. So you've
- 3:55Speaker 1: got freedom of speech, you've got freedom of religion. Try
- 3:59Speaker 1: that other countries. This is what makes America the most
- 4:02Speaker 1: amazing place on earth. Right, and we don't talk about
- 4:06Speaker 1: this enough. We're lucky to be born here, Like we're
- 4:09Speaker 1: lucky if you migrated here and became a citizen, you're lucky.
- 4:12Speaker 1: This is amazing. I mean, you don't get freedom of
- 4:16Speaker 1: religion in other countries. You don't get it in Saudi Arabia,
- 4:19Speaker 1: you don't get it in Iran. But freedom of religion
- 4:23Speaker 1: is guaranteed by the First Amendment. Have to get it.
- 4:27Speaker 1: Historical references. Again, we're talking about people fled Europe seeking
- 4:34Speaker 1: that freedom, to be able to worship however they wanted
- 4:39Speaker 1: here in this country. You know what, it's one of
- 4:43Speaker 1: the favorites. You have a right to bear arms, the
- 4:46Speaker 1: protection the Second Amendment. This country was built on the
- 4:54Speaker 1: idea of being able to self protect, freedom of speech
- 4:57Speaker 1: and self protection, and the idea that if a tyrannical
- 5:00Speaker 1: government began to morph from what we have now into
- 5:06Speaker 1: this tyranny, we would be able to fight back. And
- 5:11Speaker 1: in the UK, in Australia, stringent gun control laws limit ownership,
- 5:16Speaker 1: and that's what they want here. And as we've talked
- 5:20Speaker 1: about a million different times, restricting gun ownership, what does
- 5:23Speaker 1: that do? All it does is embolden and enable criminals
- 5:27Speaker 1: to be better armed than the people that they want
- 5:31Speaker 1: to rob Here in this country, you have a right
- 5:36Speaker 1: to do process that's en trined in the fifth and
- 5:40Speaker 1: fourteenth Amendments, the Magna Carta. Other authoritarian regimes like Russia,
- 5:46Speaker 1: due processes often undermined my government influence. Once again, I'm
- 5:52Speaker 1: just trying to point out how lucky we are to
- 5:55Speaker 1: be here in this country at this time. And I
- 6:00Speaker 1: know we fight about the partisanship. I even talked about
- 6:03Speaker 1: it tonight. This country's very partisan. We're very divided, but
- 6:06Speaker 1: these are some of the things that we all share together.
- 6:09Speaker 1: These freedoms, they're amazing. We have a freedom of the press,
- 6:14Speaker 1: although they've let us down time and time again. Protected
- 6:16Speaker 1: by that First Amendment, it's supposed to enable transparency and
- 6:21Speaker 1: accountability in government. But they failed us certainly of late.
- 6:25Speaker 1: They failed us historically, and in countries like Turkey, journalists
- 6:33Speaker 1: are actually imprisoned for exposing corruption. Here in this country,
- 6:38Speaker 1: we want our journalists to find corruption. That's the fourth estate.
- 6:45Speaker 1: That's what they should aspire to. That's what they should
- 6:47Speaker 1: go out and try to accomplish. Real journalism is finding
- 6:51Speaker 1: the truth amongst the lies and letting everybody know about it.
- 6:56Speaker 1: Here in this country, we have a right to assemble
- 6:58Speaker 1: in petition again. Iran no, other countries no. China no.
- 7:04Speaker 1: Again guaranteed in the first Amendment. This past weekend, we
- 7:09Speaker 1: saw a bunch of misguided folks rally in different places
- 7:13Speaker 1: around the country, right under the different flags of pseudo communism.
- 7:19Speaker 1: But they came out in the thousands in some places
- 7:23Speaker 1: to protest against Donald Trump. I think they would get
- 7:28Speaker 1: that right in different country, if Trump was in fact
- 7:30Speaker 1: the king. You wouldn't get that right in different country,
- 7:32Speaker 1: would you. No, we have a right to privacy here
- 7:37Speaker 1: in this country. Other countries don't give that. China again,
- 7:41Speaker 1: mass surveillance. China has a facial recognition program unlike any other,
- 7:46Speaker 1: and they actually they hand out strikes if you are
- 7:50Speaker 1: jaywalking or doing things that are illegal without even you
- 7:53Speaker 1: knowing it. They're handing out tickets, etc. Over in China.
- 7:57Speaker 1: We don't have that here, at least we don't have
- 7:59Speaker 1: it yet, although that does seem like that may come.
- 8:02Speaker 1: And our right to privacy has certainly been eroded slowly,
- 8:06Speaker 1: and I think a lot of that has to do
- 8:08Speaker 1: with the fact that we have welcomed these cell phones
- 8:11Speaker 1: into our homes, into our beds, into every aspect of
- 8:14Speaker 1: our lives. I mean, it's NonStop cell phone action. And
- 8:18Speaker 1: you're always willing, seemingly to give away your security or
- 8:22Speaker 1: your privacy if you will, for security, or what you
- 8:24Speaker 1: assume to be security, or maybe even an ease of
- 8:28Speaker 1: certain things in your life. You're willing to give away
- 8:30Speaker 1: social security number, other numbers. And it's very dangerous. So
- 8:33Speaker 1: maybe we have a right to privacy, but we're certainly
- 8:37Speaker 1: seeding that to the powers that be. It's a very
- 8:40Speaker 1: dangerous situation. And what it is is, you know, without
- 8:44Speaker 1: these protections, tyranny thrives. It does Nazi Germany, the Soviet Union.
- 8:52Speaker 1: These are things that they didn't have, and that's why
- 8:54Speaker 1: there was a boot of oppression on their neck. The
- 8:57Speaker 1: American Revolution demonstrated the necessity of resisting centralized controlled government
- 9:05Speaker 1: over freedoms. And again, we have a huge debt that
- 9:11Speaker 1: we can never repay to our founding fathers who, through
- 9:14Speaker 1: their brilliance and bravery and unselfishness, actually built this amazing
- 9:21Speaker 1: country that we live in right now. It's pretty incredible.
- 9:23Speaker 1: And again we criticize it all the time. I criticize it.
- 9:26Speaker 1: I get behind this microphone all the time and criticize it,
- 9:29Speaker 1: but it really is an amazing place to live. And again,
- 9:36Speaker 1: the big ones, the ones that always pop up, are
- 9:40Speaker 1: the ones that we talk about. We're also overwhelmed or
- 9:44Speaker 1: awash in subtle freedoms that other countries don't get a
- 9:48Speaker 1: chance to enjoy. We talk about the big ones, you know,
- 9:50Speaker 1: freedom of speech, freedom of religion, gun rights, etc. But
- 9:54Speaker 1: there are so many little integral parts of this machine
- 10:00Speaker 1: that was imagined and dreamed up by our forefathers and
- 10:03Speaker 1: put together and put down on paper and has evolved
- 10:06Speaker 1: over two hundred and fifty years to what it is
- 10:08Speaker 1: right now, and it certainly is worth saving. And I
- 10:13Speaker 1: think as a collective we should understand and cherish these freedoms.
- 10:18Speaker 1: They're rare in the history of the world. Democracies usually fail,
- 10:24Speaker 1: which is why I've been beating the drum along with
- 10:26Speaker 1: some others about the debt, because this is where democracies,
- 10:30Speaker 1: as they sit usually begin to wobble and fade. If
- 10:35Speaker 1: you look at the history of the world, there is
- 10:37Speaker 1: definitely an arc to democracies. They last only a certain
- 10:41Speaker 1: amount of time. Once the people begin to vote themselves
- 10:45Speaker 1: the treasures of that democracy, it begins to fail. So
- 10:49Speaker 1: We have to understand that it's rare to be where
- 10:51Speaker 1: we are. So educate your friends, Educate future generations. Tell
- 10:56Speaker 1: them about the sacrifices that were made. Stand vigilant whenever
- 11:01Speaker 1: anybody attempts to erode these freedoms that we have enjoyed
- 11:05Speaker 1: so very, very much. The show is called The Root Reaction.
- 11:09Speaker 1: Your host is Wayne Allen Ruth. I am not Wayne
- 11:12Speaker 1: Allen Ruth. Wayne Allen Root is Robin Elbows with the

- 11:50Speaker 3: Not only has gold been the greatest thing in the
- 11:52Speaker 3: world the entire time since Trump won the election, you
- 11:54Speaker 3: might think gold would have gone down Newalk's m eyes
- 11:57Speaker 3: every day, and was it the greatest thing last week?
- 11:59Speaker 3: When everything else is dropping, golds held its own. Gold
- 12:02Speaker 3: is just flying central bankster buying on they get their
- 12:04Speaker 3: hands on. There is no physical goal, very hard to get.

- 13:51Speaker 3: a personal story that really changed my life. I'm so
- 13:54Speaker 3: allergic to wheat and grains and gluten that I had
- 13:56Speaker 3: to give up bread. And then recently I found gyms
- 13:59Speaker 3: amazing bread and it's amazing.
- 14:01Speaker 1: It changed my life.
- 14:02Speaker 3: Now I can eat bread again.
- 14:03Speaker 1: I love it.
- 14:04Speaker 3: I eat toast for breakfast and sandwiches for lunch with
- 14:06Speaker 3: no allergy or stomach issues. What makes Jim's Amazing Bread
- 14:10Speaker 3: so amazing? It was inspired by Jim's daughter, who was
- 14:12Speaker 3: diagnosed with an autoimmune disorder. This loving father was determined
- 14:16Speaker 3: to create a delicious, all natural, digestion friendly bread.
- 14:19Speaker 1: Jim found a gently crushed wholesale.
- 14:22Speaker 3: Wheat that keeps gluten cells from activating.
- 14:24Speaker 1: The results a soft, wholesome wheat bread that's easier to digest.
- 14:28Speaker 1: Customers with gluten.
- 14:29Speaker 3: Sensitivity, blood sugar concerns, cut health issues, inflammation issues, and
- 14:33Speaker 3: some autoimmune diseases have found tremendous relief. But this bread

- 15:08Speaker 1: Right, everybody, welcome back. This is root reaction. Rayne Alan
- 15:12Speaker 1: Rut again is off tonight. I just want to remind
- 15:14Speaker 1: you guys, he's down in mar A Lago living it up.
- 15:17Speaker 1: A well deserved MC, the MC Master of Ceremonies of
- 15:22Speaker 1: a huge event in Florida, and I'm sure he'll tell you
- 15:25Speaker 1: about it when he gets back on Monday. My name
- 15:27Speaker 1: is Lee Elsie. Thanks for joining us. We'll have Hans
- 15:29Speaker 1: de Spain joining us after the bottom of the hour,
- 15:31Speaker 1: and Hans is an economic professor at UMass Amherst and
- 15:36Speaker 1: I'm looking forward to our sit down talking about some
- 15:38Speaker 1: of the things that are happening here in a country.
- 15:41Speaker 1: As far as the economy goes, everybody's paid and plugged
- 15:43Speaker 1: into the economy. This segment is the show is sponsored
- 15:46Speaker 1: by Energized Health. Now you have heard Wayne talk about
- 15:50Speaker 1: how Energized Health has changed his life. He lost twenty
- 15:54Speaker 1: five pounds of fat and that actually includes that dangerous
- 15:59Speaker 1: inner body, a visceral fat. He gained ten pounds of
- 16:02Speaker 1: muscle and intercellular hydration in only eighty eight days. So
- 16:06Speaker 1: now over four years later, he says he feels the
- 16:11Speaker 1: best he's felt in his entire life. So here's the deal.
- 16:14Speaker 1: He gives all the credit to Energize Health. And if
- 16:16Speaker 1: you are on some traditional weight loss program, time for
- 16:20Speaker 1: you to get on Energized Health. It's not a traditional
- 16:23Speaker 1: weight loss program. Those do not work. It's a fat
- 16:26Speaker 1: loss program. The program is simple, healthy and easy. It's
- 16:30Speaker 1: all based on the foundation of life, game changers, extra
- 16:33Speaker 1: intracellular hydration, and here's your chance to be just like Wayne.
- 16:38Speaker 1: Energized Health can change your life and supercharge your health,
- 16:41Speaker 1: just like it did for Wayne Allen Route. Right now,
- 16:43Speaker 1: Energized Health is offering the War. Offering the War forty
- 16:46Speaker 1: percent off, action discount forty percent off. Just say war.
- 16:51Speaker 1: Go to energizedealth dot com. That's energized health dot com.
- 16:57Speaker 1: I was going to talk about something, but then I
- 16:59Speaker 1: just read this story and I want to spend at
- 17:02Speaker 1: least ninety seconds on this before we get to the break.
- 17:05Speaker 1: So they were in session today and the Democrats were
- 17:10Speaker 1: sparring with a whistleblower who exposed a children's hospital for
- 17:15Speaker 1: performing trans surgeries on miners. And they went after this guy.
- 17:23Speaker 1: He's a whistleblower, he should have whistleblower protections. But can
- 17:27Speaker 1: somebody please tell me this is the kind of thing
- 17:30Speaker 1: that makes it impossible for us to be on the
- 17:32Speaker 1: same page. This is the kind of thing when we say, oh,
- 17:34Speaker 1: we have to find a place a middle ground, and
- 17:37Speaker 1: the partisanship is it's divisive and it's bad for the country.
- 17:41Speaker 1: The problem is these kinds of stories. What kind of
- 17:44Speaker 1: a person, what kind of a human being, would think
- 17:47Speaker 1: it's okay for a child, a child someone who literally
- 17:54Speaker 1: you wouldn't allow to smoke cigarettes or get a tattoo,
- 17:58Speaker 1: you would allow that child to have surgery removing their genitals,
- 18:06Speaker 1: are switching their sexes, even in some cases prior to
- 18:10Speaker 1: their puberty years. So this guy was a whistleblower on
- 18:15Speaker 1: this topic, and they went after him. The Dems went
- 18:18Speaker 1: after him ruthlessly because they're warped this kind of an
- 18:23Speaker 1: attitude towards this. You're a warped, sick individual if you
- 18:27Speaker 1: think finding enabling kids and allowing them again, enabling them,
- 18:34Speaker 1: encouraging them to get life altering surgeries before they're literally
- 18:39Speaker 1: old enough to mature enough to make a decision like that. Now,
- 18:42Speaker 1: if you're twenty five or if you're eighteen and you
- 18:45Speaker 1: want to cut off body parts, I don't care. I
- 18:47Speaker 1: don't want to pay for it. I don't care what
- 18:50Speaker 1: you do, and I don't care what you do behind
- 18:52Speaker 1: closed doors as long as you're not harming somebody. But
- 18:55Speaker 1: when you're talking about kids who you wouldn't trust your
- 19:00Speaker 1: child to make ninety percent of the decisions that you
- 19:02Speaker 1: might make on any given day, you're going to allow
- 19:05Speaker 1: them to make a decision on what gender they're going
- 19:08Speaker 1: to be. What is wrong with you people? This is
- 19:11Speaker 1: the same mindset when it comes to the transgender athletes
- 19:15Speaker 1: in sports. There's no way a male should play against
- 19:18Speaker 1: a female. It's insane. But this is even worse because
- 19:22Speaker 1: now you're changing this human being's life forever before they're
- 19:29Speaker 1: really they really have the mental acuity and aptitude to
- 19:34Speaker 1: be able to make that decision. Think about when you
- 19:36Speaker 1: were eight years old, nine years old, ten years old,
- 19:39Speaker 1: thirteen years old, you had no idea what the world
- 19:43Speaker 1: was like. You have no idea the ramifications of huge decisions.
- 19:47Speaker 1: These kids don't know what they're doing. And to have,
- 19:51Speaker 1: you know, a whole group of progressive people who think
- 19:54Speaker 1: it's okay to lop parts of a body off or
- 19:59Speaker 1: give them him hormone, dangerous hormones that we don't even
- 20:04Speaker 1: we haven't even tested to the extent they need to
- 20:06Speaker 1: be tested on children. That's child abuse. There's something seriously
- 20:10Speaker 1: wrong with folks who are behind that. One hundred percent.
- 20:13Speaker 1: My name is Lee Elsie filling in for Wayne Allen
- 20:15Speaker 1: Root once again. This is the Root reaction. Watch us
- 20:18Speaker 1: on untamed nation dot com and again you can go
- 20:20Speaker 1: to get her ex and rumble at real Wayne Root.

- 23:17Speaker 1: our favorites. I only bring on the best of the
- 23:20Speaker 1: best here on the national stage. And again he has
- 23:23Speaker 1: been with us for a couple of years and whenever
- 23:26Speaker 1: there's things that go into the economic query land, we
- 23:32Speaker 1: bring on our good friend. He is a lecturer in
- 23:34Speaker 1: economics at UMass Amhurst and he's also an author. He writes.
- 23:39Speaker 1: He's written hundreds of columns for different publications. He's our friend.
- 23:44Speaker 1: Hans Desbay. Hans, how are you tonight? I appreciate you
- 23:47Speaker 1: coming on.
- 23:49Speaker 5: I'm doing very well, Lee, thanks for having me on.
- 23:53Speaker 5: I'm excited to be here.
- 23:54Speaker 1: Well, listen a couple things, and again we're gonna steal
- 23:57Speaker 1: you for the last half hour if you don't mind.
- 23:59Speaker 1: So I'm just going to turn you loose because once
- 24:01Speaker 1: you get going, I know, you really get going. But
- 24:03Speaker 1: I just wanted to throw one thing out at your
- 24:05Speaker 1: stock market accessibility versus risk. I mean, the stock market
- 24:09Speaker 1: is often touted as a path to wealth, but it's
- 24:13Speaker 1: not an entitlement. Is risk right to this thing? Absolutely?
- 24:19Speaker 5: You know, we on your radio show had a little
- 24:24Speaker 5: bit of talk about this, and more recently I was
- 24:27Speaker 5: texting you with what the kernel was saying, not just
- 24:32Speaker 5: the risk. But I think what has happened with the
- 24:35Speaker 5: stock market is that the overwhelming consensus is uncertainty with
- 24:46Speaker 5: the tariffs in place. I think the bigger players in
- 24:51Speaker 5: financial markets are a little bit less certain, but of
- 24:54Speaker 5: course they're going to see it as an arbitrage opportunity
- 25:01Speaker 5: to make money. So I think there was a big
- 25:05Speaker 5: sell off because they expected there to be a big
- 25:09Speaker 5: sell off from those that are a little bit less informed.
- 25:15Speaker 4: So I think that it will be short lived.
- 25:17Speaker 1: Frankly, Okay, let me ask you this because some of
- 25:19Speaker 1: the more progressive folks who listened to me on a
- 25:21Speaker 1: regular basis, were you know, through social media, we're saying
- 25:25Speaker 1: to me, well, the big players are making multiple hundreds
- 25:28Speaker 1: of millions of dollars on these trades because they know
- 25:31Speaker 1: when it's going up, and they know when it's going down,
- 25:33Speaker 1: and the little guy gets squeezed in the process. So,
- 25:36Speaker 1: you know, when it went down two thousand or twenty
- 25:40Speaker 1: five and a seventy two hour period, then it popped
- 25:43Speaker 1: back up, went up three thousand in one day, those
- 25:45Speaker 1: big cats made a bunch of money, while the average
- 25:48Speaker 1: every day smuck kind of just stood there and either
- 25:50Speaker 1: lost summer or stay status quo. You believe that's the case, Well.
- 25:57Speaker 5: Actually, Lee, I do believe that, but I don't think
- 26:02Speaker 5: it's any you know, large surprise surprise that that's the case. Again,
- 26:09Speaker 5: it's just market anticipation. The the idea, you know, to
- 26:14Speaker 5: use an analogy. This comes from John Mayner Kines in
- 26:17Speaker 5: his very famous book.
- 26:19Speaker 4: The General Theory. Uh.
- 26:22Speaker 5: He says that the stock market is, you know, analogous
- 26:27Speaker 5: to a beauty contest. If if you're asked to pick
- 26:31Speaker 5: who you think will be the most beautiful baby, and
- 26:35Speaker 5: you win a prize if you pick the most popular one.
- 26:38Speaker 4: You don't pick the one.
- 26:40Speaker 5: That you actually think is the most beautiful. You pick
- 26:42Speaker 5: the one that you think most people will think is
- 26:45Speaker 5: most beautiful. So what I'm saying is, I think big
- 26:49Speaker 5: market players, UH know that there are a lot of
- 26:54Speaker 5: people that are going to be uncertain and sell off,
- 26:59Speaker 5: so they're going to anticipate that in in cell.
- 27:04Speaker 1: But there's nothing market there's nothing unscrupulous about that. I mean,
- 27:09Speaker 1: this is not like manufacturing, because a lot of folks
- 27:11Speaker 1: are like, well, this is a Trump doing. Trump's behind
- 27:14Speaker 1: all this. He's telling his friends what to do. That's nonsense,
- 27:16Speaker 1: right right.
- 27:18Speaker 5: And as I was speaking to uh, some friends about
- 27:22Speaker 5: this and they said, well, that's market manipulation, Well no
- 27:26Speaker 5: it's not. It's you know, what it is is anticipation,
- 27:31Speaker 5: and you know in that sense.
- 27:34Speaker 4: Again, I'm not worried. I've got some concerns.
- 27:38Speaker 5: About, uh, the tariffs and in what's happening at the international.
- 27:44Speaker 4: Level, but not the stock market.
- 27:45Speaker 5: I think the stock market is going to recover pretty quickly,
- 27:49Speaker 5: and I would discount what's happening there right now could
- 27:54Speaker 5: be wrong, but I think that will be short lived.
- 27:59Speaker 1: Hans Desbain is our guest and again we always enjoy him.
- 28:03Speaker 1: On gives us a completely different perspective a lot of times,
- 28:06Speaker 1: and it's always a great conversation. He's a lecturer in
- 28:08Speaker 1: economics at U mass Amherst. Let me ask you one
- 28:12Speaker 1: more about the stock market and then we'll get more
- 28:16Speaker 1: and deep into the tariffs. But do you think the
- 28:18Speaker 1: stock market is actually a good economic indicator?
- 28:25Speaker 5: Well, that's that's a very loaded question. Of course, it's
- 28:29Speaker 5: a very good economic indicator. Lee, Right, it's what investors think,
- 28:35Speaker 5: but at any one moment, in sort of a short
- 28:38Speaker 5: run sense, who knows.
- 28:42Speaker 4: I mean, it's you know, the the.
- 28:46Speaker 5: You know, the the the commentators will say, you know,
- 28:51Speaker 5: just for an example, but they do this every day.
- 28:55Speaker 5: You know, it goes up or down, and then they say, oh,
- 28:58Speaker 5: it's because investors think that, right, the uncertainty of the tariffs. Well,
- 29:03Speaker 5: there might be some truth to that. But then the
- 29:06Speaker 5: next day it goes up and then they say something else.
- 29:09Speaker 5: You know, it's so you know, it's it's like baseball, right,
- 29:13Speaker 5: what went wrong? Well, all the commentators have everything to
- 29:17Speaker 5: say about what went wrong, and you know it's it's overdetermined.
- 29:23Speaker 5: It's too complex to reduce it down to one simple thing.
- 29:27Speaker 4: So in that sense, yeah, yeah, no, go ahead.
- 29:30Speaker 5: And in that sense, it's a week long it's a week
- 29:33Speaker 5: long long term.
- 29:34Speaker 4: It's a week long term indicator.
- 29:37Speaker 1: Right, But it doesn't necessarily affect the construction worker, the bartender,
- 29:43Speaker 1: the consito dealer, the you know, the person who's driving
- 29:46Speaker 1: a truck. Unless they are heavily invested or invested in
- 29:50Speaker 1: some you know, capacity in the stock market, their life
- 29:53Speaker 1: doesn't change very much. Tis if it goes up three
- 29:56Speaker 1: thousand or goes down fifteen hundred.
- 29:57Speaker 4: Right, that's I would say that.
- 30:04Speaker 5: You know, I I have a portfolio, but you know,
- 30:08Speaker 5: my life is not that affected.
- 30:09Speaker 4: I I have not done anything with my portfolio. Frankly,
- 30:17Speaker 4: I haven't even looked at it.
- 30:18Speaker 5: So maybe maybe I'm more affected than I think, but
- 30:23Speaker 5: I don't have you know, it's not going to be
- 30:25Speaker 5: a life changing phenomenon. And I probably have more than most.
- 30:30Speaker 5: In fact, let me be a little more accurate that
- 30:33Speaker 5: I for sure have more than most. But that's correct.
- 30:36Speaker 5: It's uh, you know, there are a lot of Americans
- 30:39Speaker 5: that have four oh one k's and these sorts of things.
- 30:42Speaker 5: But you know, in the long term, it's going to
- 30:46Speaker 5: have no effect.
- 30:47Speaker 1: Well, unless you're moving all of your assets in that
- 30:50Speaker 1: one block of time when it took the dip, you're
- 30:54Speaker 1: you're almost exactly the same as you were, you know,
- 30:57Speaker 1: a week ago. It doesn't it really shouldn't affect people
- 30:59Speaker 1: that much. And I think there's a lot of hoo
- 31:02Speaker 1: haha about that and not a lot of impact to
- 31:05Speaker 1: the average every day American. Maybe I'm wrong, all right,
- 31:07Speaker 1: let me switch gears. Tariffs Are they a regressive tax
- 31:10Speaker 1: in your mind?
- 31:13Speaker 4: Well?
- 31:17Speaker 5: Again, I think tariffs are And I say I'm saying
- 31:21Speaker 5: again because you and I have spoken about this, but
- 31:24Speaker 5: we have a lot of listeners that haven't heard our
- 31:27Speaker 5: exchanges on these sorts of things.
- 31:30Speaker 4: Uh, tariffs are are complex. You know.
- 31:34Speaker 5: I would agree with the former trade representative of of
- 31:41Speaker 5: of Trump in the in the first Trump administration that
- 31:47Speaker 5: tariffs are a good thing to to protect American workers,
- 31:52Speaker 5: and in his book uh No Trade is Free, he
- 31:59Speaker 5: makes a pretty strong case that we need to do
- 32:02Speaker 5: a better job of protecting American workers than what we
- 32:07Speaker 5: have done since the advent of the World Trade Organization
- 32:11Speaker 5: in nineteen ninety five and the joining of China in
- 32:19Speaker 5: two thousand and two.
- 32:21Speaker 1: Hans Desban again is our guest lecturer in economics, UMass Amhurst.
- 32:26Speaker 1: It's always a pleasure to talk with him. And we're
- 32:28Speaker 1: going to cover a couple of other things here before
- 32:31Speaker 1: we run out of time. But I do want to
- 32:32Speaker 1: keep him over into the next round, and that's the
- 32:36Speaker 1: music that I was anticipating, So we'll come back in
- 32:40Speaker 1: a couple of minutes. Once again, if you're out there
- 32:42Speaker 1: on your listening, we're on all these great radio stations
- 32:46Speaker 1: from one coast to another on the Talk Media network.
- 32:49Speaker 1: You can watch right now in living color see the
- 32:52Speaker 1: beauty and the brilliance that is Hans Desbaan. If you

- 33:05Speaker 1: all of that great stuff. So we'll come right back.
- 33:08Speaker 1: We've got one break to go. We'll ask a few
- 33:10Speaker 1: more questions about wealth and the market dynamics and taris
- 33:13Speaker 1: and the economy with our guest Hans des Spain. Don't

- 37:22Speaker 1: there's good news. There's a legal, IRS proved strategy that

- 38:07Speaker 1: is where you are again. Of course you can watch
- 38:09Speaker 1: on rumble Getter on x at Real Wayne Route, also
- 38:13Speaker 1: on Untamed Nation. Our guest is lecturing economics at UMass
- 38:17Speaker 1: Amherst our friend Hans Desbay. Hans, let me ask you
- 38:20Speaker 1: go back to Tariff's real quick and maybe we can
- 38:23Speaker 1: get a couple of questions about tariffs before we run
- 38:25Speaker 1: out of time. Tell me about tariffs and the supply
- 38:31Speaker 1: chain and the resilience, the resiliency of a supply chain
- 38:34Speaker 1: when tariffs are imposed.
- 38:39Speaker 5: Well, that's an open question of what that might you know,
- 38:45Speaker 5: what that might look like. There is some anxiety about it.
- 38:49Speaker 5: What I would recommend to people to take what's happening
- 38:56Speaker 5: with the Trump administration serious, regardless of what side of
- 39:00Speaker 5: the political spectrum that you're on, is to take a
- 39:03Speaker 5: look at Stephen Moran's user guide to Tariffs that was
- 39:11Speaker 5: released in November anticipate anticipating that he would be named.
- 39:17Speaker 4: As an economic advisor.
- 39:18Speaker 2: What she was.
- 39:19Speaker 4: He's the chairman of.
- 39:20Speaker 5: The Economic the Council of Economic Advisors.
- 39:26Speaker 4: I think Moran's.
- 39:28Speaker 5: User guide is a very serious academic statement of what
- 39:34Speaker 5: the intention is. You can look at page twenty seven
- 39:39Speaker 5: of that document and you will see that they anticipate
- 39:44Speaker 5: that it could you know that the result could be
- 39:49Speaker 5: both negative and positive for trade flows, the supply chain
- 39:54Speaker 5: to inflation and so on and so forth. So it
- 39:59Speaker 5: is a very serious intention. I would say Lee that
- 40:05Speaker 5: the primary concern that they have is China. On what
- 40:13Speaker 5: Moran has most recently said in a statement from the
- 40:17Speaker 5: Chairman of the Council of Economic Advisors straight from the
- 40:22Speaker 5: White House on April seventh, he says, there are two
- 40:27Speaker 5: public goods that the rest of the world is not
- 40:31Speaker 5: paying for, which is the US dollar as the reserve
- 40:35Speaker 5: currency of the world, and also the US military as
- 40:41Speaker 5: basically the security of the world. And they would like
- 40:44Speaker 5: to see the rest of the world participate in paying
- 40:50Speaker 5: for these two so called public goods. That's the intention.
- 40:53Speaker 5: Whether you agree with it or not, that's quite serious.
- 40:56Speaker 5: You don't get this sort of language from Trump. Trump
- 40:59Speaker 5: is much more you know, he likes to have much
- 41:04Speaker 5: more of a spectacle around what he does. But I
- 41:08Speaker 5: also think this is a political strategy. You know, as
- 41:12Speaker 5: I've predicted, I didn't think that the global tariffs would
- 41:17Speaker 5: stay in place as a phenomenon, and I think after
- 41:23Speaker 5: the ninety day reprived though most of them will disappear,
- 41:27Speaker 5: they won't disappear on China. There are a number of
- 41:31Speaker 5: China Hawks within the administration, including the Secretary of State Rubio,
- 41:36Speaker 5: but also his economic advisors. Well, his Treasury Secretary is
- 41:42Speaker 5: a China Hawk, and Navarro Moran. I'm not sure that
- 41:48Speaker 5: I would define him as such, but he certainly references
- 41:52Speaker 5: what he calls in the user guide to the tariffs,
- 41:57Speaker 5: again written in November before these were imposed. Obviously candidate
- 42:02Speaker 5: Trump was talking about them, but he wrote a very
- 42:05Speaker 5: academically inspired paper. He spends about five or six pages
- 42:11Speaker 5: on the so called China shock that occurred in two
- 42:15Speaker 5: thousand and two, you know, and loss of Trumps Hans listen.
- 42:19Speaker 1: Unfortunately we're out of time. I could talk to you
- 42:21Speaker 1: for hours about this stuff. But I want people to
- 42:24Speaker 1: read some of the things that you write. Where do
- 42:26Speaker 1: they go to read what you've written here recently? Real quick?
- 42:30Speaker 5: Yes, my most recent pieces and Worcester Telegram Gauzette is
- 42:36Speaker 5: the most generous to me, My most recent piece and
- 42:40Speaker 5: most generous paper.

- 42:43Speaker 1: a Friday night. You're one of the great gats Piece.
