  May 13th Growing in wisdom and courage Life can feel like a lot

  sometimes. Like genuinely a lot.

  Between school demands, the pressure to figure out your
• 0:20
  future, navigating friendships that shift, and the constant
• 0:25
  noise of social media telling you who you should be, it's easy
• 0:29
  to feel pulled in every direction at once.
• 0:32
  And underneath all of that busyness, there's often a
• 0:35
  quieter question, Am I actually going to be OK?
• 0:39
  Proverbs chapter 15, verse 33 gives us something solid to hold
• 0:43
  onto. The fear of the Lord teaches a
• 0:46
  man wisdom and humility comes before honor.
• 0:50
  This fear isn't about being terrified of God.
• 0:53
  It's about recognizing how great He is and how much we need His
• 0:56
  guidance. It's the posture of a person who
• 1:00
  says, I don't have all the answers, but I know who does.
• 1:03
  And that posture, humble, open, reverent, is actually the
• 1:07
  starting point of real wisdom. Not academic wisdom, not St.
• 1:12
  smarts, but the kind of deep grounded knowing that helps you
• 1:15
  make good choices when everything around you feels
• 1:18
  uncertain. Then Psalm 53, verse 5 says
• 1:22
  something striking there. They are in great fear.
• 1:25
  For God is with the generation of the righteous.
• 1:28
  God is with his people. Not just in the good moments,
• 1:32
  not just when things go smoothly, but especially in the
• 1:35
  hard ones, when fear tries to creep in, when peer pressure
• 1:39
  makes the wrong choice look appealing, when you feel
• 1:42
  outnumbered or outpaced, God is right there, and that changes
• 1:46
  things. Courage isn't the absence of
• 1:49
  fear. Courage is taking the next step
• 1:51
  in the right direction, even when you're afraid, because you
• 1:54
  know you're not taking it alone. And then First Corinthians
• 1:58
  chapter 16, verses 1 to 2 brings in something unexpected.

  Paul gives practical instructions about setting aside
• 2:07
  money consistently every week as an act of generosity and
• 2:10
  obedience. It might seem like an odd thing
• 2:14
  to drop into a conversation about wisdom and courage, but
• 2:17
  there's something deeply important here.

  Wisdom isn't just about what you think or feel.
• 2:23
  It shows up in your daily habits, the small, intentional
• 2:26
  choices you make over and over again, the way you handle your
• 2:30
  money, your time, your energy, the quiet, consistent actions
• 2:35
  that nobody necessarily applauds, but that reflect a
• 2:38
  heart that's submitted to God. Here's the connection.

  Big courage is usually built from small consistency.
• 2:45
  You don't suddenly become brave in one dramatic moment.
• 2:49
  You become brave by making one honest choice, then another,
• 2:52
  then another, by practicing integrity when it's
• 2:55
  inconvenient, by giving when you could be keeping, by choosing
• 3:00
  what's right when nobody's watching.

  Those daily decisions are the training ground for the bigger
• 3:05
  moments that will come. So if you're feeling overwhelmed
• 3:09
  right now, you don't need to solve everything at once.

  Start with today. Ask God for wisdom in this
• 3:14
  moment. Take one humble step.
• 3:17
  Make one intentional choice that honors Him and trust that He is
• 3:22
  with you the way He has always been with the generation of
• 3:25
  those who walk in His ways. Wisdom and courage aren't
• 3:29
  personality traits you either have or you don't.

  They're the fruit of trusting God one day at a time.
• 3:35
  Let's pray. Heavenly Father, thank You for
• 3:38
  being with me even when life feels overwhelming and
• 3:41
  confusing. I don't always know the right
• 3:43
  move, but I trust that You do. Teach me to walk in genuine
• 3:48
  wisdom, not just in big decisions, but in the small
• 3:51
  daily habits that shape who I'm becoming.
• 3:55
  Give me courage that comes from knowing you're beside me, and
• 3:58
  help me to make consistent, intentional choices that reflect
• 4:01
  your heart. I want my life to honor you in
• 4:04
  every ordinary moment in Jesus name, Amen.
