- 0:04Coop podcast. My name is Kim Johnson and I am
- 0:07a mastermindset coach, creative strategist, and also happened to
- 0:10be a farmer. This is my chicken coop and I
- 0:12come out here every day to record a podcast to teach
- 0:16distinctions, possibilities, new ways of thinking, and just bring
- 0:20some joy into the world. So welcome to the coop, and
- 0:23let's start your day off in a fantastic way.
- 0:27Hey everybody, good morning from the chicken coop.
- 0:31Yesterday I had the privilege of spending the entire day out in
- 0:35my garden. I literally spent from very
- 0:39early, like I think it was both 745 all the way through until
- 0:45something when I finally decided to call it quits and go in.
- 0:49It was hot, it kept raining. The sun would go in, I would
- 0:53have a nice time, the breeze would pick up, it would go back
- 0:56and forth, and it was just a really awesome time to just
- 1:01spend time in the garden. And for me, I made the decision
- 1:05to do that because I kept telling myself that I had to
- 1:09work on my Wellness because I hadn't been in the garden in
- 1:12weeks where I could just stay and do it because, you know,
- 1:14springtime, I'm in there every day and I'm really working on
- 1:18the garden, but it's working on my mental Wellness at the same
- 1:20time. And the truth is, if you don't
- 1:22make time for your Wellness mentally and physically, you
- 1:25will be forced to make time for your illness.
- 1:29Think about that. If you don't do what's right for
- 1:32to be healthy mentally and physically, you will make time
- 1:35for the illness when you have to be taking the drugs, going to
- 1:39the doctor, having the past, having the surgeries, all of
- 1:42these other things. And I, I pride myself on the
- 1:47fact that I recognize when I get to the tipping point and and
- 1:51say, okay, enough is enough. I have to stop myself now and I
- 1:54need to take a break and I need to pull myself back in and I
- 1:57need to just chill out and do what I need to do in order to
- 2:01feel better. And for me, that is often most
- 2:05of the time gardening really like getting into the garden,
- 2:07digging, spending my time out there doing what I need to do in
- 2:11order to feel really good about, you know, just getting dirty,
- 2:16like being filthy. And when I got like to the end
- 2:20of the day, I was like, God, I like, I am dirty.
- 2:24Everything about me is dirty. My feet are dirty, my hands are
- 2:27dirty, I stink. And I couldn't have been
- 2:29happier. I was just a complete pigpen of
- 2:32a mess. But I was so happy.
- 2:35And those days, those days, whether it's digging in the dirt
- 2:39or you know, binge watching movies on Netflix or doing
- 2:43something that serves your heart in a different way, I could not
- 2:47recommend more. They make you feel different on
- 2:50the other side, they make you feel like encompassed in that
- 2:55love of just the universe feeling you like, all right, I
- 2:59got this like nice, like warm, comfy feeling about myself.
- 3:04And it's important to execute on that.
- 3:06So if you haven't done that recently, you need to put it on
- 3:10your schedule and plan it. Now, this one was not planned
- 3:13for me. It was based on the weather.
- 3:15Like, honestly, I've been looking for a spot where I could
- 3:17just go out there, but it's been hot, hot, hot.
- 3:20We had, you know, too much rain. Then we had no rain and we had
- 3:24all this heat and humidity and it was disgusting.
- 3:27And it was just dragging on and on.
- 3:29So one of the things I had to do was look at it and say, OK, when
- 3:32when this next spot opens up, I'm really going to take
- 3:34advantage of it and I'm going to do something.
- 3:36And all of a sudden, the spot opened up and I took advantage
- 3:39of it. And it was like this grand
- 3:41moment of like, there was a tropical storm off the shore.
- 3:45It was pushing the rain up. We were getting these little
- 3:49bands of rain, but it had cooled off just enough where it wasn't
- 3:51so sticky and gross. And I saw it and I was like,
- 3:54this is it. This is my opportunity and I'm
- 3:56going for it. And it felt brilliant.
- 4:00So I'm going to encourage you to look for that spot, find that
- 4:04spot, see where you can bring it in for yourself.
- 4:06Because if there's one thing I know for sure doing that works,
- 4:11it works every single time. And it doesn't matter what it
- 4:13looks like. It doesn't matter if you want a
- 4:15color for the day, talk for the day, read for the day, watch
- 4:18movies, do what I did. Do something because I promise
- 4:21you, it'll work. All right, my friends, I hope
- 4:23you have a blessed day and I'll see you tomorrow.
- 4:25Bye.
