- 0:03Speaker 1: Hello and welcome to Outspoken.
- 0:05Speaker 2: It's your dose of the hottest influencer and pop culture
- 0:08Speaker 2: news twice a week.
- 0:10Speaker 1: I'm Kate Torber.
- 0:11Speaker 2: I'm Sophie Torber. And I'm Amy Torber. And coming up
- 0:14Speaker 2: on today's show, Ashley Bynes shuts down her brand in
- 0:17Speaker 2: New Zealand. Justin McKeon is facing bankruptcy ahead of a
- 0:21Speaker 2: new court case. Sammy Guggenheimer reveals she was sued last year.
- 0:26Speaker 2: Molly May responds to the Venezuela wedding backlash. and the
- 0:30Speaker 2: deepfake scandal plaguing Louis Tomlinson and Zara McDermott. But first,
- 0:35Speaker 2: the internet has a new obsession, dot cakes. These have
- 0:39Speaker 2: been popping up all over my For You page. I've
- 0:41Speaker 2: got to admit, I had no idea what you were
- 0:44Speaker 2: talking about when you brought this up as a topic.
- 0:47Speaker 2: And now it's like my phone was listening into our conversation,
- 0:49Speaker 2: which I'm sure it was, because they have infiltrated my
- 0:52Speaker 2: feed and I am desperate to taste one of them.
- 0:54Speaker 2: I'm a sucker for hundreds and thousands. I reckon these
- 0:56Speaker 2: haven't been popping up for you, Kate, because people have
- 0:58Speaker 2: been recreating their own dot cakes at home and they're
- 1:01Speaker 2: using packet cakes to make them and you are hate
- 1:04Speaker 2: a packet cake. You've been known to absolutely slam anyone
- 1:06Speaker 2: who uses them. Oh, I think that's a bit harsh.
- 1:08Speaker 2: I literally just said I prefer the taste of home-cooked cakes.
- 1:11Speaker 2: I don't care if people, I just said you can
- 1:13Speaker 2: tell the difference. Okay.
- 1:15Speaker 1: Which you can.
- 1:15Speaker 2: And just in case any listeners have been living under
- 1:18Speaker 2: a rock like Kate, it's quite self-explanatory, but the dot
- 1:21Speaker 2: cakes are this single serve sponge cake that are dipped
- 1:24Speaker 2: in hundreds and thousands. And they first started popping up
- 1:27Speaker 2: on TikTok after influencers spotted them at a New York bakery.
- 1:31Speaker 2: So everyone has been doing these ASMR taste tests. All
- 1:35Speaker 2: of the influencers do the same thing. They scrape their
- 1:37Speaker 2: spoon against the hundreds and thousands, which actually is quite
- 1:40Speaker 2: unappealing to me because it makes it seem like the
- 1:43Speaker 2: cake has been in the fridge for a long time.
- 1:45Speaker 2: I was wondering who came up with the concept of
- 1:48Speaker 2: the dot cake because I've only been seeing people making
- 1:50Speaker 2: their own. I didn't know that it was from this
- 1:52Speaker 2: famous bakery. Someone who's not... happy about it is taylor
- 1:56Speaker 2: demir she thinks that people have gone crazy let's have
- 1:59Speaker 2: a listen to what she said.
- 2:01Speaker 1: No offense to the people doing it but.
- 2:06Speaker 3: Dot cakes guys it's a fucking cupcake it is literally
- 2:11Speaker 3: a cupcake with sprinkles my daughter gets them once a
- 2:14Speaker 3: week at a cafe like what are you doing why
- 2:17Speaker 3: are you falling for this why are you all racing
- 2:20Speaker 3: off to film your little it's a cupcake.
- 2:24Speaker 2: When I first saw these popping up, I 100% agreed
- 2:26Speaker 2: with Taylor. I was like, this is just a cupcake
- 2:29Speaker 2: with sprinkles on it. But since they've continued to pop
- 2:32Speaker 2: up in my feed, I found myself continually thinking about
- 2:36Speaker 2: them and craving them to the point where I've asked Dale,
- 2:39Speaker 2: when he comes home from work, I need you to
- 2:41Speaker 2: pick up hundreds and thousands. I've heard though that hundreds
- 2:43Speaker 2: and thousands are really hard to get now because it's
- 2:46Speaker 2: sort of like when everyone was making those cottage cheese
- 2:48Speaker 2: and sweet potato bowls, all of the shelves are bare.
- 2:51Speaker 2: These trends must really be passing me by because I
- 2:53Speaker 2: don't even know what you're talking about for the sweep.
- 2:55Speaker 3: Really?
- 2:55Speaker 2: Is that why I can't get any cottage cheese? I
- 2:57Speaker 2: thought it was just the bodybuilders eating it. I mean,
- 2:58Speaker 2: all these trends seem to be missing me.
- 3:01Speaker 1: If you're looking to.
- 3:02Speaker 3: Make some probably very good money and wanting to help
- 3:06Speaker 3: me out, this video is for you.
- 3:09Speaker 2: Sam Guggenheimer has revealed she was sued last year. The
- 3:13Speaker 2: 24-year-old made the confession during an episode of her podcast,
- 3:17Speaker 2: Hotter Than Yesterday.
- 3:18Speaker 1: Yeah, and she dropped.
- 3:19Speaker 2: The juicy details while interviewing comedian Fergus Neal. And there's
- 3:23Speaker 2: an interesting background between these two because it was only
- 3:26Speaker 2: last year that she went viral on his podcast, On It,
- 3:29Speaker 2: Off It, after teasing a liaison with a famous rapper.
- 3:33Speaker 2: So during that interview... she revealed that she had been
- 3:37Speaker 2: speaking on FaceTime to someone, quote, very famous, and she
- 3:41Speaker 2: admitted that they said that they would pay a lot
- 3:43Speaker 2: of money to subscribe to her OnlyFans account if she
- 3:46Speaker 2: had one. Now, during that interview, Fergus and his co-hosts
- 3:49Speaker 2: were really pushing Sam to spill the details on who
- 3:52Speaker 2: it was, and she said, oh, okay, I'll tell you
- 3:54Speaker 2: if you beep it out. Now, they did censor out
- 3:57Speaker 2: the name, but the conversation that followed made it really
- 4:01Speaker 2: obvious to who it was, And many people started tagging
- 4:05Speaker 2: the rapper who was Central C. I feel positively ancient.
- 4:09Speaker 2: I have no idea who Central C is. I have
- 4:12Speaker 2: no idea, but apparently he is very famous and a
- 4:14Speaker 2: lot of people clocked it straight away. Now, in this
- 4:17Speaker 2: recent episode, Sam and Fergus were reflecting on that past
- 4:20Speaker 2: episode and Fergus said to Sam, oh, you seem a
- 4:23Speaker 2: lot happier and less stressed than when we spoke last year.
- 4:26Speaker 1: And then Sam replied this. I'm chill now. I'm just like,
- 4:30Speaker 1: what will be, will be. I'm an easier person to
- 4:32Speaker 1: be around. Do you think that was going to London?
- 4:34Speaker 1: I think it was being sued.
- 4:35Speaker 2: That'll do it.
- 4:40Speaker 1: Yeah, that'll do it.
- 4:41Speaker 2: Yeah, so getting sued, it really puts into perspective, like,
- 4:45Speaker 2: gratitude and, like, I'm grateful for the ocean, grateful for.
- 4:48Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 4:49Speaker 2: It sounds like she was going through a hell of
- 4:51Speaker 2: a lot last year. Now, she didn't elaborate further, but
- 4:55Speaker 2: the comment comes off the back of Sam revealing in
- 4:58Speaker 2: April that she had been silenced due to ongoing legal
- 5:02Speaker 2: and representation issues dating back to the middle of last year.
- 5:06Speaker 2: She said she'd love to be honest and tell her
- 5:08Speaker 2: audience the full law, but is unable to as contract
- 5:11Speaker 2: negotiations were still going on behind the scenes. Now, at
- 5:14Speaker 2: the time, we speculated that it seemed like she was
- 5:17Speaker 2: referring to issues surrounding her now-defunct podcast that she co-hosted
- 5:21Speaker 2: with fellow influencer and former best friend Izzy Armitage. I mean,
- 5:26Speaker 2: it makes a lot of sense because if you're being
- 5:27Speaker 2: sued and going through that legal process, then you can't
- 5:30Speaker 2: publicly comment on it. You have to abide by confidentiality agreements. Unfortunately,
- 5:34Speaker 2: this makes me think we're not actually going to hear
- 5:37Speaker 2: what really went on because if this has been finalised
- 5:40Speaker 2: in court, then all of the parties would have signed
- 5:42Speaker 2: confidentiality agreements. So we're just going to have little breadcrumbs
- 5:45Speaker 2: dropped here and there when these influencers jump on a podcast.
- 5:50Speaker 2: Ashy Binds has quietly shut down her fragrance brand hideaway
- 5:54Speaker 2: in New Zealand. Operations will cease across the ditch in
- 5:57Speaker 2: June with Kiwi customers being urged to stock up while
- 6:00Speaker 2: they can. Well, it wasn't actually Ashy who broke this
- 6:03Speaker 2: news because she is yet to announce this on her
- 6:06Speaker 2: social channels. Instead, the update was posted on Hideaway's New
- 6:10Speaker 2: Zealand website. It read, after 10 years building Hideaway globally
- 6:14Speaker 2: and two years running our New Zealand site, we've made
- 6:16Speaker 2: the decision to shut it down for good. When the
- 6:19Speaker 2: New Zealand site closes on June 17, we won't be
- 6:22Speaker 2: shipping to New Zealand from Australia either. So this sale
- 6:25Speaker 2: is genuinely your last chance to get Hideaway.
- 6:28Speaker 1: It's very clear.
- 6:29Speaker 2: That they are keen to get rid of this stock
- 6:30Speaker 2: because they said they've got 16,000 units left in their
- 6:34Speaker 2: Auckland warehouse. And after June 17, it's being shipped back
- 6:37Speaker 2: to Australia and, Now, they've dropped their perfume that's normally
- 6:40Speaker 2: priced at $ 50 down to $ 20. I had a look
- 6:43Speaker 2: at how much it's selling for in Australia, though, and
- 6:47Speaker 2: they must be having issues moving stock here because they
- 6:50Speaker 2: currently have a deal in Australia, five perfumes for $ 100,
- 6:53Speaker 2: which is essentially the same as the New Zealand deal.
- 6:55Speaker 2: I mean, it's not ultra surprising that they're shutting up
- 6:58Speaker 2: shop in New Zealand. It was just last April. when
- 7:01Speaker 2: they got a lot of backlash for launching perfume into
- 7:04Speaker 2: the country. So Ashi and Hideaway were slammed for running
- 7:07Speaker 2: an offensive marketing campaign that used Maori slang. I remember
- 7:10Speaker 2: we covered this story in depth. I think our headline
- 7:13Speaker 2: or title for the episode was Ashi Bynes Thinks You Stink.
- 7:16Speaker 1: Was that right?
- 7:17Speaker 2: It was. Yes, and it did create quite a lot
- 7:21Speaker 2: of downloads based on that title.
- 7:23Speaker 1: It was a good one.
- 7:24Speaker 2: So essentially what happened was they contacted Kiwi customers To
- 7:29Speaker 2: tell them they stink and that they should buy their perfume,
- 7:31Speaker 2: that was basically the crux of the campaign. The text
- 7:34Speaker 2: message read, Sure bro, you stink like Rotorua, eh? Grab
- 7:38Speaker 2: some of this mean ass perfume from the cuz around
- 7:40Speaker 2: the corner. Lara reckons it's choice as, so hook yourself up.
- 7:44Speaker 2: I mean, I can't see how it possibly offended anyone.
- 7:46Speaker 2: Who came up with this concept? Like who was in
- 7:49Speaker 2: the marketing team that was like, yep, this is a
- 7:51Speaker 2: great idea.
- 7:51Speaker 1: How do these things- Chat GPT.
- 7:53Speaker 2: But how do these things actually get approved by a
- 7:56Speaker 2: broader team? Like this isn't just an individual at home,
- 7:59Speaker 2: like an individual influencer who's like, yep, that's a good idea.
- 8:01Speaker 2: I love that they knew that they'd instantly fucked up
- 8:04Speaker 2: because it only took an hour and 20 minutes before
- 8:06Speaker 2: the brand messaged everyone saying, sorry if our last message
- 8:10Speaker 2: came off wrong. Just Kiwi banter. We've got proud Kiwis
- 8:13Speaker 2: on the team and meant no offence.
- 8:15Speaker 1: All love.
- 8:16Speaker 2: I mean, an absolute backflip there. And to put this
- 8:19Speaker 2: into perspective of just how tone deaf it was, for
- 8:22Speaker 2: listeners unfamiliar with Rotorua, it's a city in New Zealand
- 8:25Speaker 2: that's a bit of a tourist hotspot. And it's actually
- 8:28Speaker 2: situated in this volcanic region and renowned for its geothermal
- 8:33Speaker 2: activity and Maori culture. Now, the town is known for
- 8:37Speaker 2: having a distinctive sulfur smell due to the area's geothermal activity.
- 8:42Speaker 2: And basically, it releases hydrogen sulfate gas, which is known
- 8:46Speaker 2: to smell like rotten eggs. Can you just imagine if
- 8:47Speaker 2: they had put this in chat GPT and were like, fuck,
- 8:50Speaker 2: what do we say? It's all gone wrong. And chat
- 8:52Speaker 2: GPT would be like, it's not your fault that you've
- 8:55Speaker 2: made this decision. It wasn't actually in poor taste. It
- 8:58Speaker 2: might be that the people just don't understand the joke.
- 9:01Speaker 2: How about the joke won? I mean, at the time,
- 9:04Speaker 2: the mayor of Rotorua even got involved saying it was
- 9:07Speaker 2: unbelievably unfortunate that Ashley and her team in Australia thought
- 9:11Speaker 2: the message was acceptable. She went on to say, whoever
- 9:15Speaker 2: thought the marketing text sent out to New Zealanders mocking
- 9:17Speaker 2: our slang would go down well as an Australian company
- 9:20Speaker 2: missed the mark big time. I always find it amusing
- 9:24Speaker 2: when people in serious positions like this, have to comment
- 9:28Speaker 2: on influencer incidents.
- 9:29Speaker 1: Like the fact that the.
- 9:30Speaker 2: Mayor knows who Ashley Bynes is, is quite amusing. It
- 9:33Speaker 2: seems like Hideaway never recovered from this incident in New Zealand.
- 9:37Speaker 2: I'm very interested to see what happens in the next
- 9:40Speaker 2: couple of months with the brand in Australia, because it
- 9:42Speaker 2: is quite puzzling that they're doing the same sale in Australia.
- 9:47Speaker 3: Did we wake up to find out that Zara McDermott
- 9:50Speaker 3: had cheated on Louis Tomlinson with Joey Essex?
- 9:54Speaker 2: Louis Tomlinson's girlfriend Zara McDermott has been the target of
- 9:58Speaker 2: online abuse after a deep fake photo began circulating of
- 10:01Speaker 2: her sharing an intimate moment with Joey Essex. The AI-generated
- 10:06Speaker 2: clip was created off the back of innocent pap photos
- 10:09Speaker 2: taken at a reality show wrap party. Now, Soph, this
- 10:12Speaker 2: is such an interesting pairing of UK celebrities. How does
- 10:16Speaker 2: Zara and Joey Essex of all people know each other? Well,
- 10:19Speaker 2: they recently became friends after appearing alongside each other on
- 10:23Speaker 2: a cooking show called Cooking with the Stars. And they
- 10:26Speaker 2: probably have a bit in common because they also both
- 10:28Speaker 2: appeared on separate seasons of Love Island. Joey was a
- 10:32Speaker 2: celebrity contestant because he made a name for himself 10
- 10:36Speaker 2: years ago on the show The Only Way is Essex. Interestingly,
- 10:40Speaker 2: Zara also appeared on Made in Chelsea. So I mean,
- 10:43Speaker 2: as Former reality stars, they'd run in a lot of
- 10:45Speaker 2: the same circles. I completely forgot that Joey Essex was
- 10:48Speaker 2: on Love Island. But when you just said that, all
- 10:50Speaker 2: I could see was his white teeth entering the villa.
- 10:53Speaker 2: Like I feel like his teeth entered the villa before
- 10:55Speaker 2: he did. It's clear he's trying to revive his career
- 10:58Speaker 2: because he's been on a lot of reality shows. He
- 11:00Speaker 2: was recently on I'm a Celeb, the Australian version as well.
- 11:04Speaker 2: All I remember about Joey on The Only Way is
- 11:06Speaker 2: Essex is that he'd buy shoes that were two sizes
- 11:09Speaker 2: too small for him because he said he didn't like
- 11:11Speaker 2: the fold.
- 11:12Speaker 1: In the shoe.
- 11:13Speaker 2: And so we'd like waddle around in these awful shoes.
- 11:17Speaker 2: I remember I used to call girls salty potatoes as well.
- 11:20Speaker 2: That was like a hot girl was a salty potato
- 11:22Speaker 2: because who doesn't like salty potatoes? It still blows my
- 11:24Speaker 2: mind that Louis Tomlinson and Zara McDermott are a couple.
- 11:28Speaker 1: I remember when that came out and it was so weird.
- 11:30Speaker 1: I was like, what? It was like two worlds colliding.
- 11:33Speaker 2: Yeah. Well, they've been dating since early 2025. And a
- 11:36Speaker 2: lot of fans were heartbroken when these pap photos emerged
- 11:39Speaker 2: of them holding hands and dining out together. There's almost
- 11:43Speaker 2: this element of snobbery from Louis' fans because a lot
- 11:46Speaker 2: of them seem to think that she's not famous enough
- 11:48Speaker 2: to be dating Louis. And because she came from a
- 11:51Speaker 2: reality TV background, it's like she's not good enough for
- 11:54Speaker 2: their man. I mean, no disrespect to Zara, but I
- 11:57Speaker 2: suppose when you compare her level of fame to, say,
- 12:01Speaker 2: Harry Styles' girlfriends, you've got Taylor Swift and Zayn Malik was.
- 12:05Speaker 1: well, we had a baby with Gigi Hadid.
- 12:07Speaker 2: I suppose on that level of fame, you know, and
- 12:10Speaker 2: I think Zara being the girl next door, being on
- 12:12Speaker 2: a reality show, people look at her and go, that
- 12:16Speaker 2: should be me.
- 12:16Speaker 1: It's that element.
- 12:17Speaker 2: I mean, look, they'd never be happy with whoever he
- 12:20Speaker 2: chose to date. They would like him to be eternally single. Now,
- 12:24Speaker 2: back in March, 2025, Louis and Zara were dropping a
- 12:29Speaker 2: They then went Instagram official with a cute photo of
- 12:32Speaker 2: them kissing on Instagram. He also opened up about his
- 12:35Speaker 2: relationship with Zara during his interview on the Diary of
- 12:39Speaker 2: a CEO. He said, I'm a deeply, deeply romantic person. Adding,
- 12:43Speaker 2: for me, I have to be living it. It has
- 12:45Speaker 2: to be literal. It has to be real to me.
- 12:48Speaker 2: So if I wasn't feeling so good like right now,
- 12:50Speaker 2: I wasn't feeling so in love, the record probably would
- 12:53Speaker 2: have a slightly different.
- 12:54Speaker 1: Feel to it.
- 12:55Speaker 2: So a lot of fans... heartbroken that these love songs
- 12:59Speaker 2: are clearly about Zara McDermott. It gets a bit tiresome
- 13:02Speaker 2: how jealous the 1D fans are. Like, I understand you
- 13:06Speaker 2: love these boys, but they have to move on. Like,
- 13:08Speaker 2: don't you want them to actually, you know, in.
- 13:10Speaker 1: Their 30s have a girlfriend?
- 13:12Speaker 2: Yeah, but Soph, can you stop with the voodoo doll
- 13:14Speaker 2: of Zara McDermott? Oh my God, I like Zara McDermott.
- 13:18Speaker 2: I keep going to say Zara McDonald. I'm worried that
- 13:21Speaker 2: someone's going to say it. Their names are obviously so similar.
- 13:24Speaker 2: Now that we all know the main players, let's jump
- 13:26Speaker 2: into what actually went down. So Zara and Joey were
- 13:30Speaker 2: attending a wrap party to mark the end of Cooking
- 13:32Speaker 2: with the Stars and they were papped walking out of
- 13:36Speaker 2: the party. To put this into context, it's not like
- 13:38Speaker 2: they were hiding. They were literally standing in front of
- 13:40Speaker 2: a large window. Now in the photos, Joey gave Zara
- 13:44Speaker 2: a peck on the cheek and she briefly wrapped her
- 13:47Speaker 2: arm around him. They then went their separate ways and
- 13:50Speaker 2: Zara jumped into a waiting car. So it was all
- 13:53Speaker 2: very innocent. But if you didn't know the context that
- 13:55Speaker 2: they actually do know each other because they've just appeared
- 13:58Speaker 2: on a reality show together, you'd be like, why are
- 14:00Speaker 2: they hanging out?
- 14:00Speaker 1: This is weird.
- 14:01Speaker 2: Why is she catching up with Joey Essex behind Louis
- 14:04Speaker 2: Tomlinson's back? Now, when these photos were first published, a
- 14:08Speaker 2: source told The Sun, Zara and Joey grew close during
- 14:11Speaker 2: filming and have become good friends. adding, they got on
- 14:14Speaker 2: really well, but it's all very innocent. She's head over
- 14:17Speaker 2: heels with Louis and they're totally committed to each other. Now,
- 14:20Speaker 2: these photos have been all over my For You page
- 14:23Speaker 2: and a lot of Louis' fans were reading into this
- 14:25Speaker 2: very innocent moment and creating reaction videos to it. And
- 14:30Speaker 2: off the back of these pap photos, someone went as
- 14:33Speaker 2: far as creating a deep fake. So the deep fake
- 14:36Speaker 2: showed the pair actually kissing. And this image has been
- 14:39Speaker 2: doing the rounds on social media. Thousands of Louis fans
- 14:43Speaker 2: who refer to themselves as Louis began sharing this image
- 14:46Speaker 2: in an effort to expose Zara. One fan tagged Louis
- 14:50Speaker 2: to let him know that his girlfriend is a notorious cheater,
- 14:53Speaker 2: adding they knew this would happen. Now, this comment is
- 14:57Speaker 2: in reference to how Zara's last relationship ended. So in 2019,
- 15:01Speaker 2: she cheated on her previous partner, Sam Thompson, with a
- 15:04Speaker 2: music label exec. which created an infamous Made in Chelsea
- 15:09Speaker 2: scene featuring her crying and begging for forgiveness. Now, Sam
- 15:13Speaker 2: forgave Zara and they stayed together for five years.
- 15:17Speaker 1: I mean, that's the thing.
- 15:18Speaker 2: If Sam was happy to forgive Zara, why can't Louis'
- 15:21Speaker 2: fans forgive her for this moment? I mean, the outpouring.
- 15:24Speaker 1: Because they're jealous.
- 15:25Speaker 2: Well, yeah. They keep saying, once a cheater, always a cheater.
- 15:28Speaker 2: It's because they want to manifest it. The more they
- 15:30Speaker 2: say it, the more trouble they can cause for this
- 15:32Speaker 2: relationship in the hope that Louis will dump her.
- 15:34Speaker 1: No, Sophie, I think you're wrong.
- 15:35Speaker 2: I think they're looking out for him.
- 15:37Speaker 1: Note the sarcasm.
- 15:40Speaker 2: Well, journalist Dani Scott, who writes for the Metro, she
- 15:43Speaker 2: put together an opinion piece slamming Louis' fans. She wrote,
- 15:46Speaker 2: Louis Tomlinson's fans have sharpened their pitchforks in a misogynistic
- 15:50Speaker 2: witch hunt against his girlfriend, Zara McDermott. I mean, this
- 15:54Speaker 2: is a real attempt to destroy their relationship or at
- 15:57Speaker 2: least make things difficult for them. If you were Zara,
- 16:00Speaker 2: you would be slightly annoyed that Louis hasn't come out
- 16:03Speaker 2: and defended her.
- 16:03Speaker 1: Against his fans.
- 16:05Speaker 2: I mean, to be fair to Louis' fans, I'm sure
- 16:07Speaker 2: the majority of them who saw that photo didn't know
- 16:09Speaker 2: it was a deep fake.
- 16:09Speaker 1: I mean, that is the danger of deep fakes.
- 16:12Speaker 2: Yeah, but Kate, you're acting like these fans are teenage girls.
- 16:15Speaker 2: It's most likely women in their 30s who are aware.
- 16:19Speaker 2: the deep fakes are inexistent. Yeah, but if the media
- 16:22Speaker 2: have already reported that she's been spotted with Joey Essex
- 16:26Speaker 2: and it looked like there was potentially something between them,
- 16:29Speaker 2: and then off the back of that, you then see
- 16:31Speaker 2: this other photo of them actually kissing, it.
- 16:33Speaker 1: Already strengthens the information that was out there.
- 16:35Speaker 2: Yeah, but again, even if she was cheating on Louis
- 16:38Speaker 2: Tomlinson with Joey Essex and she'd been caught out There's
- 16:42Speaker 2: no excuse for some of the nasty bullying comments that
- 16:45Speaker 2: have been thrown her way. I don't think you can
- 16:47Speaker 2: ever condone that sort of bullying. I'm not condoning it,
- 16:50Speaker 2: but I am not surprised. That is just how the
- 16:52Speaker 2: internet reacts, particularly to women that they don't like or
- 16:55Speaker 2: are jealous of. Well, this deepfake has been reported to
- 16:58Speaker 2: the police. And when it comes to deepfakes, celebrities can
- 17:02Speaker 2: sue the creators of them in civil court for defamation
- 17:06Speaker 2: because in this case, this image is has the potential
- 17:09Speaker 2: to have ruined Zara's reputation. She could have lost brand
- 17:13Speaker 2: deals off the back of this or potential work opportunities.
- 17:17Speaker 2: I mean, this deepfake wasn't of an explicit nature, but
- 17:21Speaker 2: it could have been triggering for her because she has
- 17:23Speaker 2: experienced revenge porn in the past. In 2021, she hosted
- 17:27Speaker 2: a BBC documentary where she spoke about her own experience
- 17:31Speaker 2: with it. And she was really applauded for her work
- 17:33Speaker 2: in this space. Now, neither Zara or Louis have commented
- 17:37Speaker 2: on the scandal. And Dani from the BBC was calling
- 17:41Speaker 2: on Louis to come out and defend his girlfriend. She said,
- 17:44Speaker 2: while Louis is a deeply private person, the responsibility falls
- 17:48Speaker 2: on him to bring his fans into line. So she
- 17:51Speaker 2: urged him to step in and protect Zara from his
- 17:53Speaker 2: own fan base. What do you guys think about that?
- 17:55Speaker 2: Is that Louis' responsibility? I think it's a bit ridiculous
- 17:58Speaker 2: that this journalist is coming out and essentially blaming Louis
- 18:01Speaker 2: for the behavior of his own fans. I actually think
- 18:03Speaker 2: it's a clever PR move not to say anything about
- 18:06Speaker 2: this because If he talks on the topic, it's only
- 18:08Speaker 2: going to increase the attention on it. I mean, all
- 18:12Speaker 2: of the guys from One Direction are in a really
- 18:14Speaker 2: difficult position because you don't want to bite the hand
- 18:16Speaker 2: that feeds you. You don't want to offend all of
- 18:17Speaker 2: your fans and kick off about a girlfriend that you
- 18:20Speaker 2: might not be with in the future. But at the
- 18:22Speaker 2: same time, I can understand how it would be incredibly
- 18:24Speaker 2: hurtful if you.
- 18:25Speaker 1: Were said girlfriend.
- 18:26Speaker 2: But it's also, if he says one thing about Zara...
- 18:30Speaker 2: then it sets the precedence that every other girlfriend, if
- 18:33Speaker 2: he has more in the future, he's then got to
- 18:35Speaker 2: defend them. Well, it's kind of like when Prince Harry
- 18:37Speaker 2: issued a statement defending his wife. And a lot of
- 18:40Speaker 2: the people in the UK got their backs up because
- 18:42Speaker 2: they're like, hold on, you're ours. Why are you defending
- 18:45Speaker 2: this woman that we hate? Like they were shocked that
- 18:48Speaker 2: Meghan's own husband would be defending her over the UK public.
- 18:52Speaker 2: I personally think Louis is not saying something because he
- 18:55Speaker 2: doesn't want to act bothered by it. Because I think
- 18:57Speaker 2: the worst thing you can sometimes do in these situations
- 18:59Speaker 2: is to even give a rumor like this oxygen well
- 19:02Speaker 2: louis has actually hit out at fans before but he
- 19:05Speaker 2: kept the details very vague so in july 2025 he
- 19:09Speaker 2: wrote the last few months have made it impossible to
- 19:11Speaker 2: be on here that was in reference to x all
- 19:14Speaker 2: the conspiracy chats about my relationship my son or even
- 19:18Speaker 2: stretching sometimes to opinions on my mom it's just too
- 19:21Speaker 2: much and too hurtful for me to see Thank you
- 19:24Speaker 2: to everyone who always has my back.
- 19:26Speaker 3: Okay.
- 19:26Speaker 2: Well, with that context, maybe he should come out and
- 19:29Speaker 2: say something if he has spoken about issues like this before.
- 19:32Speaker 1: I've changed my mind.
- 19:32Speaker 2: But it's crazy how offended some of the 1D fans are.
- 19:35Speaker 2: Like this video popped up of Harry Styles going for
- 19:38Speaker 2: a run in Amsterdam and this female fan literally chased
- 19:41Speaker 2: after him and was like, Harry, can I please get
- 19:44Speaker 2: a photo? And he's still running. He's like, I'm sorry,
- 19:46Speaker 2: maybe not.
- 19:47Speaker 1: And kept running.
- 19:47Speaker 2: And everyone's like, I can't believe he didn't see.
- 19:50Speaker 3: Stop.
- 19:50Speaker 1: It's like, what about the girl chasing him?
- 19:52Speaker 2: If he's going for a run, he clearly doesn't want
- 19:54Speaker 2: to be stopped. I saw people saying that this was
- 19:57Speaker 2: literally their nightmare to be rejected for.
- 19:59Speaker 1: A fan photo like this.
- 20:00Speaker 2: I had secondhand embarrassment for her. Like I was like,
- 20:02Speaker 2: just be happy that you saw him in person.
- 20:05Speaker 1: Don't go and embarrass yourself. And why share the video?
- 20:08Speaker 1: But also read the situation.
- 20:10Speaker 2: Like someone is not going to stop to pose for
- 20:12Speaker 2: a photo if they're running, particularly because we know Harry
- 20:15Speaker 2: Styles has been getting into marathon training.
- 20:17Speaker 1: I mean, he was obviously busy.
- 20:19Speaker 2: Well, there was another TikTok where he actually stopped to
- 20:21Speaker 2: sign autographs for fans. And Zoe was also in this
- 20:24Speaker 2: photo and everyone's like, oh, she's pretty rude. Like she's
- 20:27Speaker 2: got her back to the fans. And someone commented, Well, actually,
- 20:30Speaker 2: they were lining up to get ice cream and she
- 20:32Speaker 2: was just standing in the line. It's funny how they
- 20:35Speaker 2: can take these photos so out of context. She probably
- 20:37Speaker 2: knows that the fans don't want to see her either.
- 20:40Speaker 1: They want their individual.
- 20:41Speaker 2: Photo with Harry. Now, in an attempt to put these
- 20:44Speaker 2: rumours to bed, Zara attended Louis' recent set, which was
- 20:47Speaker 2: at Radio 1's Big Weekend, and she ended up standing
- 20:51Speaker 2: stage side. So she could be seen. This was quite
- 20:54Speaker 2: a moment. it was a big F you to all
- 20:57Speaker 2: of the Louis fans. They would have been spewing seeing
- 20:59Speaker 2: her there. I've noticed people have been filming Zoe Kravitz
- 21:02Speaker 2: at Harry's concerts and saying, oh, okay, I'm happy. She's
- 21:05Speaker 2: been singing every single lyric. It's like this poor woman
- 21:08Speaker 2: has to prove herself so much. Oh, they analyze every
- 21:11Speaker 2: single moment of them there, don't they? Like from what
- 21:14Speaker 2: they're wearing to, as you say, if they know the songs,
- 21:16Speaker 2: if they're getting into it enough, it's like I saw
- 21:19Speaker 2: one comment, oh, just another one of the girls that
- 21:22Speaker 2: Harry is parading in front of us at his tour.
- 21:24Speaker 1: It's like, oh my God, get a fucking life.
- 21:28Speaker 2: Justin McKeon is set to front court next week over
- 21:30Speaker 2: 100 charges relating to his time as head of finance
- 21:34Speaker 2: at Rocket Brands. Charges were first laid against the 38-year-old
- 21:38Speaker 2: in March following a 15-month investigation by police. At the
- 21:42Speaker 2: same time as the criminal proceedings are going ahead, McKean
- 21:46Speaker 2: is also facing bankruptcy after failing to comply with a
- 21:49Speaker 2: court order to pay his former employer more.
- 21:52Speaker 1: Than $ 550, 000.
- 21:53Speaker 2: Now, that court order is in relation to the civil
- 21:58Speaker 2: case that Justin's former employer took out against him. In March,
- 22:03Speaker 2: Justin was found to have breached his contract and duties
- 22:06Speaker 2: and was ordered to pay back the money he allegedly stole,
- 22:10Speaker 2: plus interest and legal costs. That is yet to happen though,
- 22:14Speaker 2: and now he is being pursued in the Federal Circuit
- 22:17Speaker 2: Court for the money. Yeah, and this saga has been
- 22:19Speaker 2: going on since October 2024, and it keeps getting messier.
- 22:24Speaker 2: So it all started when Rocket Brands discovered a number
- 22:27Speaker 2: of allegedly unauthorized transactions. So bank and accounting records revealed
- 22:32Speaker 2: that between the 24th of June 2024 and And the
- 22:36Speaker 2: 7th of October, 2024, Justin allegedly made 114 bank transfers
- 22:41Speaker 2: totaling just over $ 480, 000 to his personal bank account. Now,
- 22:47Speaker 2: Justin is yet to enter a plea for the criminal
- 22:50Speaker 2: case and will be back in court next Friday while
- 22:53Speaker 2: the bankruptcy hearing is scheduled for the following week. Now,
- 22:57Speaker 2: fairly recently, Justin's ex-girlfriend, Tani Leeson, who is the mother
- 23:01Speaker 2: of his child, came out and shed some light on
- 23:04Speaker 2: their relationship breakdown. It was quite obvious they weren't together
- 23:08Speaker 2: because Justin didn't appear in any of the birth announcement.
- 23:12Speaker 2: She's made a few comments that she was doing it
- 23:14Speaker 2: all on her own, which was in contrast to what
- 23:17Speaker 2: actually happened when this news broke because it seemed like
- 23:19Speaker 2: she was standing by him. Now, they were actually together
- 23:22Speaker 2: when the legal dispute came out and it seemed like
- 23:24Speaker 2: she was standing by him. They controversially announced their pregnancy
- 23:29Speaker 2: off the back of his legal issues. Now on Mother's
- 23:32Speaker 2: Day this year, Tani ended up sharing a post that said,
- 23:35Speaker 2: I chose to leave a really awful environment and put
- 23:37Speaker 2: myself and my baby first. And honestly, I haven't looked
- 23:40Speaker 2: back once. She then went on to say, it's true
- 23:43Speaker 2: that it takes a village to raise a child. And
- 23:45Speaker 2: while she's parenting solo, she's had amazing support. I really
- 23:49Speaker 2: feel for Tani. This is a situation that no new
- 23:52Speaker 2: mother would want to be in. I also feel for
- 23:54Speaker 2: Olivia Rogers too, his ex-wife. She's recently had a baby
- 23:58Speaker 2: this month. And it would be difficult to have your
- 24:01Speaker 2: ex-partner constantly being brought up in the media with your
- 24:04Speaker 2: name associated with him. Yeah. A lot of the headlines
- 24:08Speaker 2: are like Olivia Rogers, ex-husband. I understand that that's how
- 24:12Speaker 2: people know him. That's why these news articles are being written.
- 24:16Speaker 2: But at some point, the media need to detach Olivia
- 24:20Speaker 2: Rogers from this situation.
- 24:21Speaker 1: They broke up years ago. She's moved on. She's had
- 24:23Speaker 1: a baby.
- 24:24Speaker 2: And I think the timing of This court case was
- 24:27Speaker 2: really bad considering, you know, she's only just had the
- 24:30Speaker 2: baby and they were melding the story together like a
- 24:32Speaker 2: birth announcement plus he's, you know, facing bankruptcy. I don't know.
- 24:37Speaker 2: I should have thought there's probably going to be pictures
- 24:39Speaker 2: and videos that will come out. Molly May has responded
- 24:44Speaker 2: to backlash following her outfit choice at her niece Venezuela
- 24:47Speaker 2: Fury's wedding. The influencer, who is now 38 weeks pregnant,
- 24:51Speaker 2: was trolled for wearing a black jumpsuit and having visible roots, Kate.
- 24:55Speaker 1: Now, Molly addressed.
- 24:56Speaker 2: The backlash on her YouTube channel, calling the comments humbling.
- 25:00Speaker 2: She said she didn't realize wearing black to a wedding
- 25:02Speaker 2: was considered unacceptable and said she thought it was okay
- 25:05Speaker 2: as long as you didn't wear white. I mean, she
- 25:07Speaker 2: was trying to point out that she actually did go
- 25:09Speaker 2: to a bit of effort with this outfit because she
- 25:11Speaker 2: ended up getting it tailored. And she said, oh, I
- 25:14Speaker 2: didn't actually realize that there would be so much attention
- 25:16Speaker 2: and focus on what I was wearing.
- 25:18Speaker 1: She said I was merely acting.
- 25:20Speaker 2: As Bambi's chaperone that day. And I thought that the
- 25:23Speaker 2: focus would be on the couple getting married, not me.
- 25:26Speaker 2: I still don't really understand what was wrong with her
- 25:28Speaker 2: outfit at all. I mean, it had beautiful floral detailing.
- 25:31Speaker 2: Like I've seen heaps of people wear black dresses to
- 25:34Speaker 2: a wedding. I mean, this snippet of Molly Mae was
- 25:36Speaker 2: going viral on TikTok and a lot of people were
- 25:38Speaker 2: actually posting the black dresses they had worn to a wedding.
- 25:41Speaker 1: I went to a.
- 25:42Speaker 2: Wedding recently and the theme was black. Like even the
- 25:45Speaker 2: men had to wear black shirts as opposed to white shirts.
- 25:48Speaker 2: It's a very popular wedding trend. I mean, let's also
- 25:51Speaker 2: not forget the fact that she was heavily pregnant. It
- 25:52Speaker 2: is incredibly hard to dress when you are that pregnant.
- 25:56Speaker 2: I mean, it's lucky she didn't rock up in trackers.
- 25:58Speaker 2: I mean, I would have been tempted to if I.
- 25:59Speaker 1: Was 38 weeks pregnant.
- 26:00Speaker 2: But isn't this also such a mum mentality? She said
- 26:02Speaker 2: there was no part of me the thought about what
- 26:05Speaker 2: I was going to look like.
- 26:06Speaker 1: I was concentrating on my.
- 26:07Speaker 2: Daughter, which I mean, as a mom, you barely get
- 26:10Speaker 2: any time to get ready. And I mean, she did
- 26:13Speaker 2: admit that she went to the lengths of getting a
- 26:15Speaker 2: professional updo, but she ended up taking it out and
- 26:17Speaker 2: doing her own slick back. I couldn't believe the commentary
- 26:20Speaker 2: around her hair. It's like, she's literally wrangling a toddler. Like,
- 26:23Speaker 2: of course you're going to want to slick your hair back.
- 26:25Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 26:25Speaker 2: I mean, with minimal help as well. I mean, her,
- 26:27Speaker 2: her fiance, Tommy Fury was not there. He was at
- 26:30Speaker 2: a boxing training camp. Molly also revealed that it was
- 26:33Speaker 2: pretty touch and go as to whether they were actually
- 26:35Speaker 2: going to attend the wedding because she thought she might
- 26:38Speaker 2: have given birth by then. This is, I mean, emphasizing
- 26:40Speaker 2: just how pregnant she actually is. Molly May actually celebrated
- 26:44Speaker 2: her birthday this week and I couldn't quite wrap my
- 26:46Speaker 2: head around it because she's been in the public eye
- 26:48Speaker 2: for so long and achieved so much. I'm like, she
- 26:50Speaker 2: can't be 27. How is she 10 years younger than me?
- 26:54Speaker 2: Also the fact that she's pregnant with her second child,
- 26:56Speaker 2: like It just doesn't make sense to me.
- 26:57Speaker 1: I can't compute it.
- 26:58Speaker 2: I was actually surprised she was 27 because it seems
- 27:01Speaker 2: like she's been early 20s for so long. And 27
- 27:05Speaker 2: was my scary age. That's when I was like, oh
- 27:07Speaker 2: my God, I'm closer to 30 than I am 20.
- 27:10Speaker 2: I've got to get my life in order.
- 27:11Speaker 1: What's going on?
- 27:12Speaker 2: Her 30th is really going to rock me, I think.
- 27:14Speaker 2: That's only a couple of years away. Well, on that note,
- 27:17Speaker 2: you know, I don't like talking about big birthdays, Kate.
- 27:19Speaker 2: But before we go, we have recently dropped a new
- 27:21Speaker 2: episode of The Mums Group where we discussed some very
- 27:24Speaker 2: outdated opinions from a pediatrician. I mean, I actually still
- 27:29Speaker 2: can't believe that these were written in a book in
- 27:31Speaker 2: the 80s. This is something that all of our mums
- 27:33Speaker 2: would have had to go by. I mean, it is
- 27:35Speaker 2: incredibly disturbing, but also you've got to see the humorous side.
- 27:39Speaker 2: I mean, I genuinely would have thought it was satire
- 27:41Speaker 2: if I didn't see the physical copy.
- 27:42Speaker 1: Of the book.
- 27:43Speaker 2: I mean, this was a guy who was writing for
- 27:45Speaker 2: the Women's Weekly at the time. So It's scary to
- 27:48Speaker 2: think about the rhetoric that was so normalized then because
- 27:52Speaker 2: it was all about pleasing your husband and feeling sorry
- 27:54Speaker 2: for them during the newborn bubble, not focusing on yourself.
- 27:57Speaker 2: But yes, make sure you do tune into that and
- 27:59Speaker 2: make sure you are following The Mums Group on Spotify
- 28:02Speaker 2: and also Apple Podcasts because the episode will then drop
- 28:05Speaker 2: automatically into your feed. And if two episodes of Outspoken
- 28:07Speaker 2: and one episode of The Mums Group isn't enough for you,
- 28:09Speaker 2: we also drop a bonus episode of Outspoken every every
- 28:13Speaker 2: Thursday for Outspoken Plus subscribers. All the details to sign
- 28:17Speaker 2: up are in our show notes. This podcast was recorded
- 28:20Speaker 2: on the traditional land of the Kaurna people of the
- 28:22Speaker 2: Adelaide Plains.
- 28:23Speaker 1: We pay respect to elders past and present.
