- 2:33Speaker 1: Okay, let's go ahead and bring in my co host
- 2:36Speaker 1: Marshall Marshallman. Week seven had a lot of fun, you know,
- 2:43Speaker 1: fun stuff to talk about. We'll get to the Penn
- 2:48Speaker 1: State Franklin stuff, but let's stay on the field. First
- 2:51Speaker 1: of all, how you doing. And second of all, the
- 2:53Speaker 1: Indiana Hoosiers are for real.
- 2:58Speaker 3: I'm good, brother. I got the week off of school,
- 3:02Speaker 3: so it's a little nice to have a little bit
- 3:03Speaker 3: of a mental break from the kids. And then got
- 3:06Speaker 3: a bachelor party coming up soon, so it's that life's
- 3:09Speaker 3: going okay over here. I don't have to work too
- 3:11Speaker 3: much this month or next month. So hey, we talked
- 3:16Speaker 3: about it last week. H You know, Indiana's head coach
- 3:22Speaker 3: was mentally prepared for the game, because I think he
- 3:24Speaker 3: is meant prepared to win every game. It's the kind
- 3:26Speaker 3: of guy to respect the guy. I'm sure there's a
- 3:28Speaker 3: lot of people that think Sinnetti's a bit of a prick,
- 3:30Speaker 3: but the dudes winning games. And last year he had
- 3:34Speaker 3: the tough challenge to face Notre Dame and Ohio State
- 3:38Speaker 3: and lost. I do remember the Ohio State game to me.
- 3:42Speaker 3: I remember talking to you on the show about how
- 3:44Speaker 3: the had a couple of like kind of fluky scores,
- 3:47Speaker 3: like there was a special teams touchdown, some defensive work.
- 3:50Speaker 3: It was I thought the the head to head play
- 3:53Speaker 3: was pretty fair. One of the score indicated. I was like, okay,
- 3:55Speaker 3: you know, but he's still lost and this year. Maybe
- 4:00Speaker 3: new quarterback, maybe it's that wide receiver, maybe it's just
- 4:02Speaker 3: his second year there. But dude, you could argue they
- 4:08Speaker 3: probably had the win the win of the year. You
- 4:12Speaker 3: may maybe Georgia at Tennessee would rival it because that
- 4:16Speaker 3: was a tough environment with a fair competition level. Uh
- 4:19Speaker 3: and truly, you know how truly good is Oregon? We're
- 4:23Speaker 3: not quite sure yet, but this definitely is the top
- 4:25Speaker 3: three win of the year. And hey, hats off to them, man,
- 4:29Speaker 3: because again I've said it all year. Besides this year
- 4:32Speaker 3: of Indiana football. I knew Randa Ll was a badass,
- 4:36Speaker 3: cool dude when I was in elementary school. I was like, man,
- 4:38Speaker 3: I want to be Randal L when I'm playing football
- 4:40Speaker 3: in the fall of my buddies because he's a dual
- 4:42Speaker 3: threat quarterback. Like and since Randal LL, I've not thought
- 4:48Speaker 3: of Indiana football. And yes there's money, yes there's nil deals,
- 4:52Speaker 3: but shit, you gotta sell real estate, Chris, And what
- 4:56Speaker 3: part of Indiana? Who's your island is exotic and funny?
- 4:59Speaker 3: Like we're are there, Barista is there? We're not aware
- 5:01Speaker 3: of This is Cana Hoosier. This is basketball country, and
- 5:04Speaker 3: they done shit in basketball for a while either, So
- 5:08Speaker 3: whatever magic he does to produce the team he has,
- 5:13Speaker 3: it's a potion that works. I think that is just
- 5:17Speaker 3: a really really impressive win that that probably, barring melt down,
- 5:21Speaker 3: that probably kind of almost shoots them in the playoff
- 5:23Speaker 3: because their schedules that insanely hard like Florida or some
- 5:25Speaker 3: mothers in the SEC. But tremendous win. Since we've been
- 5:31Speaker 3: doing this podcast for over ten years, you know, it's
- 5:34Speaker 3: probably a count of one hand the amount of times
- 5:36Speaker 3: that Oregon's lost a big game at home to the
- 5:40Speaker 3: best of my knowledge, Chris, I know freaking USC or
- 5:43Speaker 3: watching can ever seem to be in their two teams
- 5:45Speaker 3: that kind of cheered for against him over the times
- 5:47Speaker 3: the Civil War, maybe a little bit here thee I think.
- 5:50Speaker 2: They're eighteen in row at home or something like that.
- 5:52Speaker 3: Yeah, so winning at Austin's hard to do. But to
- 5:56Speaker 3: win by ten points like hats off to see he
- 6:00Speaker 3: had his boys ready then Iowa Hiccup almost got him.
- 6:04Speaker 3: But to go to Oregon and whoop their ass. I mean,
- 6:06Speaker 3: they played a great game. That that's a hard victory.
- 6:09Speaker 3: But this guy's hardened doubt. Again, he's a very confident man,
- 6:13Speaker 3: but I'd be confident too if my guy's walked in.
- 6:15Speaker 3: Doson got a.
- 6:15Speaker 1: W Chris, Yeah, I mean they're a better team this year.
- 6:21Speaker 1: Mendoza is a better much well, i'd say a fairly
- 6:24Speaker 1: like i'd say.
- 6:25Speaker 2: A much better quarterback.
- 6:28Speaker 3: He was decent.
- 6:29Speaker 1: Yeah, he's decent. Mendoz is better than him though by
- 6:33Speaker 1: a fair amount because he can move as well. And
- 6:36Speaker 1: remember that dude was hurt and he was like he
- 6:38Speaker 1: had had a bunch of surgeries on his knee and
- 6:42Speaker 1: he just was kind of in the pocket a lot.
- 6:45Speaker 1: But to your point, the offense is what was missing
- 6:50Speaker 1: in those two games against Ohio State and against Notre Dame. Yes,
- 6:55Speaker 1: that was a big thing. Defense didn't look like it
- 6:58Speaker 1: was lost. The team will all competitiveness and all that
- 7:01Speaker 1: didn't look like it was lost.
- 7:03Speaker 2: It did.
- 7:03Speaker 1: They just couldn't do what they had been doing. But
- 7:09Speaker 1: you know, like they've upgraded sarat and I think it's
- 7:14Speaker 1: Cooper or whatever. Both those guys are legit. Like I said,
- 7:17Speaker 1: Mendoza can run. I mean, you know, he picks and shoeses,
- 7:21Speaker 1: but he can run. And when I think it is
- 7:27Speaker 1: the best win by the way of the year. Yeah,
- 7:31Speaker 1: because obviously now that Penn State's three and three.
- 7:35Speaker 2: You can't give that to Oregon, right, true.
- 7:39Speaker 1: Because you know, traveling across the country, that was huge,
- 7:42Speaker 1: especially all the way across the country for that and
- 7:46Speaker 1: that one, but Indiana had to travel a fair amount.
- 7:49Speaker 1: So I think when it was twenty to thirteen, they
- 7:56Speaker 1: had the ball and they and they threw that pick
- 7:58Speaker 1: is pretty bad decision or whatever, picked six, and I'm like, oh, man, like, uh,
- 8:05Speaker 1: what are we gonna do. Let's see how they were
- 8:07Speaker 1: spawning boom. They went down to score and they got
- 8:09Speaker 1: two more I INT's so they got the pressure to
- 8:14Speaker 1: Dante more. He showed some of his youth in that game,
- 8:18Speaker 1: and just in general to contain you know, the running
- 8:22Speaker 1: game was huge. It was like Indiana rush just enough.
- 8:27Speaker 1: But yeah, I was. I was really amazed how they
- 8:31Speaker 1: they did it. And going into that, they were oha
- 8:35Speaker 1: forty six all time on the road versus an ap
- 8:39Speaker 1: top five opponent. It was the most losses without a
- 8:44Speaker 1: win in the nation. So you know, there's teams that
- 8:49Speaker 1: are probably like two or one and you know, fifty
- 8:54Speaker 1: eight or who knows, right, yeah, but oh, forty six
- 8:58Speaker 1: in that spot and they come up.
- 9:01Speaker 2: And really, you know, without that pick six.
- 9:05Speaker 1: You know, that's thirteen points that the defense held that
- 9:09Speaker 1: offensive team.
- 9:10Speaker 2: So it was going into it. They had won thirteen
- 9:14Speaker 2: straight at home.
- 9:15Speaker 1: That was the longest one. The other one obviously just
- 9:18Speaker 1: fell as well with Bama beaton Georgia and then they
- 9:21Speaker 1: also Oregon. They had won twenty three regular season games
- 9:26Speaker 1: in a row, so oh yeah, true, you know what
- 9:29Speaker 1: I mean, So that that was huge and basically wins
- 9:36Speaker 1: against even ap top ten opponents. They had three Indiana
- 9:41Speaker 1: from nineteen sixty eight to twenty twenty three they had three,
- 9:46Speaker 1: So I mean, that's pretty freaking quick.
- 9:50Speaker 2: To turn that thing around.
- 9:52Speaker 1: And obviously, you know we'll get into the Penn State stuff.
- 9:55Speaker 1: But I mean, you know, for the Indie fans, you
- 10:00Speaker 1: hope that that's not where he goes because that would
- 10:03Speaker 1: really suck for them. But they they've had a hell
- 10:05Speaker 1: of a run in this year. It feels like they
- 10:10Speaker 1: can go even deeper. Bama gets by Maszoo. I felt
- 10:16Speaker 1: pretty good when it was twenty seven to seventeen. I
- 10:19Speaker 1: had the two and a half minus two and a half,
- 10:21Speaker 1: felt really good, and then all of a sudden, I
- 10:23Speaker 1: started feeling like, oh, hold on, wait a second, it's
- 10:27Speaker 1: three points and they got the ball kind of freaking
- 10:29Speaker 1: out a little bit, you know, the fake punt.
- 10:34Speaker 2: It looked like the direct snap.
- 10:36Speaker 1: It looked like that guy got to it, got to
- 10:40Speaker 1: the first down, which obviously led to points for Bama
- 10:43Speaker 1: because it was a turnover on downs. The quarterback Bo
- 10:49Speaker 1: Prebulah or whatever his name is. You know, once they're
- 10:52Speaker 1: not once they're out of run mode, and they got
- 10:55Speaker 1: a pass more. He definitely showed that he needs to
- 10:59Speaker 1: develop there through some kind of bad picks and just
- 11:01Speaker 1: bad balls in general. But for a while there, I
- 11:05Speaker 1: mean Bama did pretty good because if you think about it,
- 11:09Speaker 1: Hardy was going nuts. And first of all, they only
- 11:12Speaker 1: gave twelve carries for fifty two. But to limit them
- 11:15Speaker 1: as a hole to twenty eight carries and eleven of
- 11:18Speaker 1: those are from your quarterback, that's a big win. Now,
- 11:22Speaker 1: they didn't rush a ton that jam Miller, who they
- 11:25Speaker 1: need to stay healthy, had a pretty good day. They did,
- 11:28Speaker 1: you know, over go past one hundred yards rushing, but
- 11:32Speaker 1: I thought, you know, just quarterback for quarterback when it
- 11:36Speaker 1: comes to throwing, Ty Simpson did his thing. There was
- 11:39Speaker 1: a big like fourth and eight play down the stretch.
- 11:42Speaker 1: Of that game that it was like maybe a fifteen
- 11:45Speaker 1: to twenty hour pick up.
- 11:46Speaker 2: Right on the sidelines. That was one of the plays
- 11:49Speaker 2: of the game. But ma'n Mazoo was close, but they
- 11:53Speaker 2: just couldn't get over the hump. Although I did think
- 11:56Speaker 2: that they got fucked on that fake punt play.
- 12:00Speaker 3: Yeah, you know, I I I hope besides my guy kids,
- 12:04Speaker 3: and I hope that it just can start to love
- 12:06Speaker 3: my coaches on my teams, because I guess I'm neutral
- 12:09Speaker 3: Lincoln Riley, but drink Witz again, great win loss records.
- 12:13Speaker 3: Still not the biggest fan of him, as I haven't
- 12:15Speaker 3: been for the last three years. Hey, this would have
- 12:19Speaker 3: been probably the win of his of his tenure so far,
- 12:21Speaker 3: just because again Missoo's become really good at winning games
- 12:25Speaker 3: are supposed to him. But it still it's like, man,
- 12:27Speaker 3: could you ever just beat Georgia or Alabama at home?
- 12:30Speaker 3: For once? This definitely was a chance. I really thought that.
- 12:37Speaker 3: And I've been not as high and Ti Simpson as
- 12:39Speaker 3: others have been so far this year, but I will
- 12:41Speaker 3: I will tip my cap today. I really thought that
- 12:44Speaker 3: he just did a great job of passing the ball.
- 12:47Speaker 3: I said that because when you see the highlights like
- 12:51Speaker 3: or maybe or maybe it was more so an exposure
- 12:54Speaker 3: of Miszoo's secondary because a lot, a lot of a
- 12:56Speaker 3: lot of wide receivers and Crimson were open and he
- 13:00Speaker 3: wasn't missing them either. So I will give Simpson credit.
- 13:03Speaker 3: I thought he had one of his better games of
- 13:05Speaker 3: the year. I thought they got a little traditional with
- 13:08Speaker 3: their offense there last week. But hey, he slung the
- 13:11Speaker 3: ball around. I don't think I can cush it. He
- 13:13Speaker 3: fell in his head pretty hard, though. I'm sure my
- 13:15Speaker 3: Tennessee's sister Will will pray that he's out this week.
- 13:18Speaker 3: You know that that definitely could have been concussion. I
- 13:20Speaker 3: know they I think they checked him, but I guess
- 13:22Speaker 3: he came back. Yeah, that that looked ugly. Hopefully hopefully
- 13:26Speaker 3: he is okay. But yeah, another situation for Missoo where
- 13:31Speaker 3: it's like, dude, you had, you had a chance, and
- 13:33Speaker 3: you just let one slip again at home. So just
- 13:40Speaker 3: you're you're, you're you're a really good B level team.
- 13:43Speaker 3: Uh Now, thankfully their schedule is pretty late this year.
- 13:47Speaker 3: They still do have a chance of making a playoff,
- 13:49Speaker 3: but they can't afford to slip up versus anyone else
- 13:52Speaker 3: from the top again, so we'll see what happens. You're right,
- 13:56Speaker 3: Probula had a decent game, a couple of costleague picks though,
- 14:00Speaker 3: and again you just didn't make enough plays. Your defense
- 14:02Speaker 3: has to play better. And hey, if you're Bama, you
- 14:05Speaker 3: know the everyone in the world wanted Canada bar fired. Yeah,
- 14:10Speaker 3: after you lose epis you You've now won three hard
- 14:13Speaker 3: games in a row. Not any teams in the country
- 14:15Speaker 3: can do that, you know. So you beat, you beat Georgia,
- 14:22Speaker 3: you beat and you go to Miszoo and I got Tennessee, Like, dude,
- 14:27Speaker 3: that that's a hell of her. Most teams aren't gonna
- 14:29Speaker 3: go three and one or possibly four in that run.
- 14:33Speaker 3: And you know, the tusk loosive people probably call him
- 14:35Speaker 3: down a little bit now, but hey, hats off to Bama.
- 14:38Speaker 3: That's another another song win because Chris only get that
- 14:41Speaker 3: little bit of a break of an easier opponent. Uh,
- 14:44Speaker 3: Tennessee ain't gonna be an easier.
- 14:47Speaker 2: Yeah, exactly. And I can't really remember a run.
- 14:50Speaker 1: I'm sure you know Saban was there forever and we
- 14:53Speaker 1: know not forever, but two thousand and seven or whatever.
- 14:56Speaker 1: And we know he's the best minor day coach I
- 14:59Speaker 1: would say the best coach of all time.
- 15:01Speaker 3: Yeah, but do you.
- 15:02Speaker 2: Recall four straight ranked teams when they had divisions? I
- 15:07Speaker 2: don't know. Maybe there is, you know, maybe there is
- 15:10Speaker 2: and we just don't remember it.
- 15:11Speaker 3: But he didn't.
- 15:14Speaker 2: They didn't have a schedule like this. I'll tell you that.
- 15:16Speaker 1: No, no, because they could control it more, you know.
- 15:22Speaker 1: So yeah, I mean they've turned it around. They're looking good.
- 15:26Speaker 2: Uh.
- 15:26Speaker 1: Sometimes just about a fit. And clearly old boy last
- 15:30Speaker 1: year wasn't a good fit. And Ty Simpson is. And
- 15:32Speaker 1: you know, credit to Simpson, he stayed around. He stayed,
- 15:36Speaker 1: you know, multiple years and could have dipped. Obviously he's
- 15:39Speaker 1: a good quarterback, so he could have left and he didn't.
- 15:42Speaker 1: And now he's I think he's got another year eligibility
- 15:45Speaker 1: after this, but he better. If he keeps playing like this,
- 15:47Speaker 1: he may just go. I want to talk about two
- 15:52Speaker 1: two games. There we go, the Red River rivalry to
- 15:58Speaker 1: shoot out. Okay, want to talk about the Sooners and
- 16:02Speaker 1: the Longhorns. Sooners got up what six to three or whatever,
- 16:05Speaker 1: and I think it was twenty to zero in the
- 16:08Speaker 1: second half. I liked the short passing instead of you know,
- 16:11Speaker 1: too many times Manning has just tried to push and
- 16:14Speaker 1: I'm not saying it was always like called because a
- 16:19Speaker 1: lot of times it'd be him getting outside the pocket
- 16:21Speaker 1: because he hasn't had a ton of protection. And they
- 16:24Speaker 1: finally got a run game going Wiser look good. But
- 16:27Speaker 1: I like the short passing more this this week rather
- 16:30Speaker 1: than I always trying to truck the damn ball down
- 16:32Speaker 1: the field. So I want to give your take just
- 16:35Speaker 1: in general because you were there, and then also kind
- 16:39Speaker 1: of double it up. USC beats Michigan, and the most
- 16:42Speaker 1: impressive thing with that one is they out Michigan Michigan
- 16:46Speaker 1: just like I said in the beginning, to not only
- 16:49Speaker 1: be able to contain Michigan's run, which they did, but
- 16:52Speaker 1: also to pour it on them with the run game
- 16:57Speaker 1: is a sign of great things that come. They got
- 16:59Speaker 1: to difficult schedule. I'm not saying this year they're they're
- 17:02Speaker 1: ready to win it all. But we know it's a
- 17:04Speaker 1: young team. We know they have a quarterback that is
- 17:08Speaker 1: going to return next year. Like they're starting to really
- 17:13Speaker 1: look the part of a team that still played a
- 17:16Speaker 1: lot of young guys, you know, the running back room.
- 17:19Speaker 1: They had to play a walk on freshman. So we'll
- 17:21Speaker 1: see how badly hurt. Those guys are but no matter what,
- 17:25Speaker 1: it was a very solid win, especially the way they
- 17:28Speaker 1: did it. Let's talk about those two games.
- 17:31Speaker 3: Well, I was hoping, honestly for like a three and
- 17:34Speaker 3: oh day where missoo, Oklahoma and USC would win, but
- 17:38Speaker 3: that that would have been beautiful. I would have been
- 17:40Speaker 3: dancing today, but that didn't happen. I guess I'll take
- 17:43Speaker 3: one in two compared to all in three for Oklahoma.
- 17:49Speaker 3: I do think their their defense played up to the
- 17:51Speaker 3: name they'd had this year. But I also think that
- 17:55Speaker 3: in person, arch Many made a couple of throws that
- 17:58Speaker 3: he hadn't made this year, had some just like solid
- 18:01Speaker 3: good throws where he uh. There's a couple of plays
- 18:04Speaker 3: where like he literally he predicted and knew where the
- 18:06Speaker 3: receiver was gonna be on some decent coverage.
- 18:09Speaker 4: Uh.
- 18:09Speaker 3: And Oklahoma did make a couple of mistakes too, and
- 18:12Speaker 3: that one of those touchdowns where the secondary just kind
- 18:15Speaker 3: of forgot about a guy, so Manning didn't throw a pick.
- 18:18Speaker 3: He didn't look too frazzled. Again, I don't think their
- 18:21Speaker 3: offense was elite, but it was better than Oklahoma, So
- 18:25Speaker 3: hats up to him. That was a win. That the
- 18:28Speaker 3: Texas fans definitely wanted and needed. I can't say I
- 18:32Speaker 3: enjoy that, But for ou Man, this was not the
- 18:37Speaker 3: same team we saw play Michigan, just because Matier looked
- 18:40Speaker 3: so much of a dual threat that game, and just
- 18:44Speaker 3: from from my perspective of my Todd mcshae marshall roar
- 18:48Speaker 3: to draft knowledge expertise, he had like five or six
- 18:52Speaker 3: passes where he was like legit behind the receiver. So
- 18:55Speaker 3: I don't think that hand was probably fully healed. I know,
- 18:59Speaker 3: talking to my close friend who took me to the game,
- 19:02Speaker 3: who's a big Oklahoma guy in that season tickets, you know,
- 19:05Speaker 3: when I text him earlier the last week, he's like, Oh,
- 19:07Speaker 3: they're expecting Materier back after the maybe after Texas or
- 19:11Speaker 3: the week after that. And so I think they bumped
- 19:14Speaker 3: up his timeline, Chris, to get him out there earlier
- 19:16Speaker 3: because they don't want to trot the backup out there,
- 19:18Speaker 3: which makes sense from a coaching standpoint, So like, we'd
- 19:21Speaker 3: rather have you on your B level than your quarterback
- 19:24Speaker 3: on his Z level for backup. But his B level
- 19:27Speaker 3: was not good enough versus Texas defense. I was probably motivated. Again,
- 19:32Speaker 3: this is a massive rivalry game because these kids don't
- 19:34Speaker 3: like each other. You know, a lot of natural competition,
- 19:37Speaker 3: maybe some teammates playing each other, and just a regular
- 19:41Speaker 3: top tier quarterback doesn't throw behind a guy four to
- 19:43Speaker 3: five times. And there's a couple of passes he made
- 19:46Speaker 3: where you know, they just they didn't get you rhythm
- 19:48Speaker 3: going and one of the big turning points of the
- 19:51Speaker 3: game us he was going into half, they did one
- 19:53Speaker 3: of the worst too many drills I've seen all year.
- 19:55Speaker 3: They should be they should have at least had three
- 19:57Speaker 3: points maybe an extra seven going into half, but they
- 20:00Speaker 3: completely butchered the clock. Like I won't go, I won't
- 20:04Speaker 3: break it down because that's not necessary. But they affed
- 20:06Speaker 3: up a two minute drill really really badly, and they
- 20:08Speaker 3: left points on the field, which in the low scoring
- 20:11Speaker 3: game that came back to hurt you, and that gave
- 20:14Speaker 3: Texas momentum going into half and and all you kind
- 20:16Speaker 3: of lost it. So I wish I you know, it
- 20:20Speaker 3: was fun environment though, so cool to have a stadium
- 20:22Speaker 3: split down the middle with both fans here and make
- 20:24Speaker 3: a lot of noise. I enjoyed it. I just wished
- 20:26Speaker 3: the ourd team would have won. And hey, for UFC
- 20:29Speaker 3: USC you beat her eight team, who I think you
- 20:31Speaker 3: were definitely better then ran the ball, consistently, took care
- 20:37Speaker 3: of defensively, and if you're Michigan again, that's another kind
- 20:40Speaker 3: of top primetime game where you only scored, you know,
- 20:43Speaker 3: in the teams just like I think they was scored.
- 20:45Speaker 3: The teams are less versus Oklahoma. So you know, they
- 20:48Speaker 3: paid a lot of money Chrisopher Underwood, a lot of money.
- 20:51Speaker 3: And I'm not saying the guy is complete like fraud
- 20:54Speaker 3: or he's not that good, but I don't. I think
- 20:56Speaker 3: with what they paid for him to get him from LSU,
- 20:59Speaker 3: they probably will expect little bit more and we've not
- 21:01Speaker 3: quite seen that developed yet, which you know, in a
- 21:04Speaker 3: day of where people have short patients, as we saw
- 21:06Speaker 3: it in Penn State this weekend, I think Michigan fans
- 21:09Speaker 3: probably opened for a bit more from Underwood overall for
- 21:12Speaker 3: the season so far.
- 21:14Speaker 1: Well, I would push pretty far back on that just
- 21:17Speaker 1: because he's a true freshman.
- 21:20Speaker 3: You paid a lot of money though for the kid.
- 21:22Speaker 1: Right, but over three and four years worth the money,
- 21:26Speaker 1: it's like a contract. So how many true freshmen are
- 21:31Speaker 1: great just walking in? You know, how many times have
- 21:36Speaker 1: we seen that. Now there's a kid at kitt who
- 21:39Speaker 1: sat on the bench and now he's the starter.
- 21:41Speaker 2: He's looking good.
- 21:44Speaker 1: There's some right the kid at Cal. He's up and down,
- 21:47Speaker 1: but he's pretty good. For a true freshman. It's hard
- 21:51Speaker 1: to be a red shirt freshman.
- 21:52Speaker 2: Let alone a true freshman, you know.
- 21:54Speaker 1: So if they expected him to go out and be
- 21:59Speaker 1: like an all conference player as a true freshman, then
- 22:03Speaker 1: I think their expectations backwards.
- 22:05Speaker 3: Well maybe let me say this, would you expect him
- 22:07Speaker 3: as a fan base to win the win these primetime games?
- 22:13Speaker 3: I mean, maybe that's a better way to put it.
- 22:17Speaker 1: Those both those Oklahoma in that at least, you know,
- 22:22Speaker 1: I mean I picked USC but not confidently last year week,
- 22:26Speaker 1: but tofically.
- 22:27Speaker 2: I thought they were due.
- 22:28Speaker 1: But no, I honestly I've watched everyone in almost every
- 22:32Speaker 1: one of his games, and there are some ones he
- 22:37Speaker 1: put in the dirt. There's a couple that he overthrew,
- 22:40Speaker 1: but there's also a couple that you're like, Okay, there
- 22:44Speaker 1: was like probably six or seven that where they started mounting.
- 22:48Speaker 2: Uh uh, you know, like they were gonna do something.
- 22:51Speaker 2: But as a true I don't understand a true freshman.
- 22:56Speaker 2: I just you just rarely see it. You rarely see
- 22:59Speaker 2: a true freshman even play meaningful minutes. So I wouldn't
- 23:04Speaker 2: think that he should be better as a true freshman
- 23:07Speaker 2: now going into next year, in the year after, if
- 23:10Speaker 2: he doesn't show more of the positives than the misfires,
- 23:14Speaker 2: then I'd say it's time for some heavy criticism. But Okay,
- 23:19Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 23:19Speaker 1: I just think that's that's kind of pushing it personally,
- 23:24Speaker 1: But you know, it is what it is.
- 23:26Speaker 2: Uh do what was that?
- 23:31Speaker 3: Oh?
- 23:31Speaker 2: Yeah, but that?
- 23:32Speaker 1: But are you gonna start giving credit to your other
- 23:35Speaker 1: I know you like the quarterback at Louisville who transferred,
- 23:38Speaker 1: But are you gonna at least say something about the
- 23:41Speaker 1: current USC quarterback because he's one of the best quarterbacks
- 23:44Speaker 1: in the whole country right now that you.
- 23:47Speaker 3: Come in or no, I suppose I should give some
- 23:50Speaker 3: credits to me my Maeva, right, Mava, Like it's a
- 23:58Speaker 3: tricky name.
- 23:59Speaker 2: I am a I got to say more than you'll
- 24:02Speaker 2: know how to say it.
- 24:03Speaker 3: That's true. Hey, you're right, You're right. Uh, And that
- 24:07Speaker 3: is one thing that you know, Lincoln has done a
- 24:09Speaker 3: good job of being a quarterback whisper. And yes, I
- 24:12Speaker 3: was still kind of wishing Miller moster there, but he ain't.
- 24:14Speaker 3: But hey, Miama has taken care of the ball.
- 24:18Speaker 2: You can't say he's better than this guy though.
- 24:20Speaker 3: No, I never snow he's. No, he's not because that
- 24:24Speaker 3: Miller Moss. He's he's turnover prone. He's flashy bit turnover prone. Hey,
- 24:30Speaker 3: and despite what we think about Michigan's offense and where
- 24:32Speaker 3: the quarterbacks should be or not, Michigan always has a
- 24:35Speaker 3: preestyle defense. And you were able to score a touchdown
- 24:38Speaker 3: every quarter. You had thirty one which ran on him too. Yeah,
- 24:43Speaker 3: and with with a with a freshman walk on which
- 24:45Speaker 3: probably he was probably a bit surprised to get the
- 24:47Speaker 3: time he did. But hey, eighteen carries buck fifty eight
- 24:51Speaker 3: for King Miller. I was said, King Henry wrong team.
- 24:54Speaker 3: Uh hey, yeah, that that's a good win for USC.
- 24:57Speaker 3: Now again, you have kind of a you gotta fought.
- 25:02Speaker 3: You got to add on to your confidence and face
- 25:04Speaker 3: leader damps. Miamis having a nice here. I will say that,
- 25:08Speaker 3: and that's that's credit, rightfully, So that's that's due.
- 25:11Speaker 2: He's more than nice.
- 25:13Speaker 1: He's more than just a nice quarterback. He's a great
- 25:16Speaker 1: quarterback of college for college. Yeah, look at his numbers, dude,
- 25:19Speaker 1: It's it's undeniable, all right. South Florida North Texas close
- 25:24Speaker 1: game until it wasn't twenty eight to seven in the
- 25:27Speaker 1: third quarter. They just ran them over that I had
- 25:30Speaker 1: the one and a half. I was feeling pretty good
- 25:33Speaker 1: with South Florida and they I didn't expect. I wasn't
- 25:36Speaker 1: feeling that good. So we got to keep an eye
- 25:38Speaker 1: on South Florida as far as you know. They're only
- 25:41Speaker 1: one loss to Miami, you know, so they're looking pretty
- 25:46Speaker 1: damn good.
- 25:46Speaker 3: Ohio, hey quickly, Hey them in Memphis, could be a
- 25:50Speaker 3: huge game for that. The small school gets the spot game,
- 25:55Speaker 3: that could be a huge game.
- 25:57Speaker 2: Definitely. Illinois was able to get the double digits against
- 26:02Speaker 2: Ohio State, so I mean it took them, you know,
- 26:05Speaker 2: until the third quarter to get a touchdown. But hey,
- 26:07Speaker 2: Ohio State actually gave up double digits for the first time.
- 26:11Speaker 2: But they pretty much handled their business pretty much. No
- 26:14Speaker 2: no problem.
- 26:15Speaker 1: They're old miss got caught almost in the look ahead
- 26:19Speaker 1: twenty four to twenty one. They better that shit up.
- 26:23Speaker 1: Florida hung around with A and M until they didn't.
- 26:27Speaker 1: It was like thirteen to three down the stretch. They
- 26:29Speaker 1: opened it up on them, and it was.
- 26:32Speaker 2: It was a competitive game, but A and M, you know,
- 26:35Speaker 2: showing they can win in a variety of ways. Their
- 26:37Speaker 2: defense still probably needs some work, but they're six and
- 26:40Speaker 2: oh and they got a doable schedule. I'd say.
- 26:45Speaker 1: Texas Tech, dude, I mean twenty one to zero in
- 26:48Speaker 1: the second half. Now, they did get their their quarterbacks
- 26:51Speaker 1: banged up, so we'll see where that goes. But right now,
- 26:55Speaker 1: man six and oh, three and oh, the Big twelve
- 26:58Speaker 1: just doing their thing. LU actually ran the ball a
- 27:03Speaker 1: little bit.
- 27:04Speaker 2: Against South Carolina twenty to ten.
- 27:06Speaker 1: It seems like they're right in that that ten to
- 27:08Speaker 1: seven point game. They just can't pull away from folks,
- 27:14Speaker 1: but they did.
- 27:15Speaker 2: They got it.
- 27:15Speaker 1: Speaking of polling away, Tennessee couldn't quite do that to Arkansas,
- 27:19Speaker 1: who scored fourteen in the fourth quarter, thirty four to
- 27:22Speaker 1: thirty one. That Green keeps putting up numbers. But Tennessee,
- 27:26Speaker 1: you know, got the job done, as did Georgia Tech.
- 27:29Speaker 1: They stayed unbeaten. Notre Dames still doing their thing. Thirty
- 27:33Speaker 1: six to seven. Great game between BYU and Zona. I
- 27:37Speaker 1: thought Zona was gonna win that game, BYU stayed in
- 27:40Speaker 1: it won in overtime, and then Arizona State their quarterback
- 27:44Speaker 1: didn't play. They had sims who I think came from
- 27:48Speaker 1: Nebraska if I remember. Utah just dominated and they got
- 27:51Speaker 1: a big game coming up. Between those two winners, Utah
- 27:54Speaker 1: and BYU, Colorado got a ranked game win. Salter looked good.
- 28:01Speaker 1: They actually look pretty good in that game. Iowa State's
- 28:04Speaker 1: having some you know, injury issues. We saw Penn State
- 28:08Speaker 1: lost three in a row. Florida State did two. Not
- 28:12Speaker 1: quite the same you know point differentials of course, as
- 28:15Speaker 1: far as heading into it odds wise, but Pitt with
- 28:19Speaker 1: that young quarterback who's last two weeks have been going
- 28:22Speaker 1: off for three weeks now. But Florida State, man, they
- 28:25Speaker 1: start with that big Bama win only to turn right
- 28:28Speaker 1: around and lose three.
- 28:30Speaker 2: In a row.
- 28:30Speaker 1: I'm not gonna lose too much sleep. The one game, though,
- 28:34Speaker 1: I wanted to talk about was Georgia Auburn, and that
- 28:37Speaker 1: first half Auburn was run, run, running. They're playing really
- 28:43Speaker 1: good defense. There was a point where they had like
- 28:46Speaker 1: one hundred and one hundred and maybe sixty rushing yards
- 28:51Speaker 1: to negative three or something like that. But the second half,
- 28:57Speaker 1: there is some.
- 28:58Speaker 2: Stats here when the game was still in doubt, but dude,
- 29:04Speaker 2: it was in the second half. There was a moment there.
- 29:07Speaker 1: Forty plays to fourteen from Georgia one hundred and ninety
- 29:12Speaker 1: five to fifteen yards in almost twenty minutes of time possession.
- 29:19Speaker 1: A tale of two halfs. But if you're an Auburn fan,
- 29:23Speaker 1: you gotta start feeling like, what the hell can we
- 29:26Speaker 1: just get one of these? And between this and the
- 29:29Speaker 1: Oklahoma game, especially the Oklahoma game in general, but they
- 29:33Speaker 1: keep getting the short end of the stick. But man,
- 29:36Speaker 1: I mean, the way they started that game was really impressive.
- 29:41Speaker 1: But then once you gotta start coming back and Arnold
- 29:44Speaker 1: has to be relied on to throw the ball, it's
- 29:47Speaker 1: just not going to go as well.
- 29:50Speaker 3: Yeah, and you know, I I'm not like that. I'm
- 29:54Speaker 3: not an Auburn fan, but I you know, sometimes the
- 29:57Speaker 3: ref cost you, but you could you you can make
- 30:00Speaker 3: a strong argument without sounding crazy as an Auburn fanny. Like, man,
- 30:03Speaker 3: the refs kind of have it in for us this year.
- 30:06Speaker 3: The Ou game had lots of calls. I if I
- 30:10Speaker 3: had to vote, I would say that the guy I
- 30:13Speaker 3: scored a touchdown and obviously it was super close. You
- 30:17Speaker 3: might have different perspective if you're a George fan. I
- 30:19Speaker 3: didn't have any money on it, but I really thought
- 30:21Speaker 3: that he scored. And obviously you can't predict the future,
- 30:25Speaker 3: but if Aubury got up seventeen zero there, they probably
- 30:29Speaker 3: win that game, just because they had so much crazy momentum.
- 30:32Speaker 3: I kind of really wanted to went to because we
- 30:34Speaker 3: literally talked about this on the show, like, you know,
- 30:36Speaker 3: George is having a better year, but hey, those those
- 30:39Speaker 3: shrubs at night in Auburn, like that's where magical shit happens.
- 30:42Speaker 3: I literally had that conversation with you, But that was
- 30:47Speaker 3: that was a tough call because you go from being
- 30:49Speaker 3: up seventeen zero to only up ten to three, and
- 30:52Speaker 3: I kind of sucked the momentum out. And athletes are humans,
- 30:56Speaker 3: and so I'm sure when they went into halftime you
- 30:59Speaker 3: could see the coach is pissed off talking to the reporter,
- 31:03Speaker 3: and I'm sure the guys are pissed off too, Like
- 31:05Speaker 3: you know, you're nationally gonna have a bit of a
- 31:06Speaker 3: letdown and hate the refs and then you lose focus.
- 31:09Speaker 3: And as much as George drives me crazy, they're they're
- 31:13Speaker 3: always a pretty damn focused team. Uh, say what you
- 31:16Speaker 3: want like h George's now had the gritty win at
- 31:19Speaker 3: Tennessee and greedy win Auburn, and those are two tough
- 31:22Speaker 3: places to win.
- 31:24Speaker 1: So in a very winnable game against Alabama, had they
- 31:27Speaker 1: just tightened up a little bitter.
- 31:28Speaker 3: Yeah, so this George team is tested. If they make
- 31:32Speaker 3: the playoffs, I wouldn't want to play them because they're
- 31:34Speaker 3: kind of one of those like Castle nine lives, like
- 31:36Speaker 3: you have under control and then something happens and then Curby,
- 31:40Speaker 3: you won't go away. Now that timeout clapp and Ship
- 31:42Speaker 3: I think is absolutely ridiculous. That that, But for the
- 31:45Speaker 3: rest you know, that just makes the refs angle look
- 31:48Speaker 3: even worse.
- 31:48Speaker 2: It's like, dude, it really does because it's Foy. He
- 31:51Speaker 2: made this big deal. He's clapping to all these people. No,
- 31:54Speaker 2: I was clapping. And then you look at the replay.
- 31:58Speaker 3: That's the that's the universal time for code for time
- 32:01Speaker 3: out across the world. So yeah, that.
- 32:05Speaker 2: It was.
- 32:07Speaker 3: And then if you're an Auburn fan, you know, and
- 32:09Speaker 3: who know, made that time I could have been helpful.
- 32:12Speaker 3: You know that that could have been useful to maybe
- 32:14Speaker 3: at some point, you know, you get a freak time out.
- 32:16Speaker 3: That's right now, How colle football is supposed to work.
- 32:18Speaker 3: So yeah, if you're Auburn, hey dude, the gods aren't
- 32:23Speaker 3: on your side this year, but there's long ways to
- 32:25Speaker 3: go by. I doubt they view it that way right now. Yeah,
- 32:28Speaker 3: that that was a tough one, so I wish my
- 32:30Speaker 3: prediction would have been to write it was close. It was.
- 32:33Speaker 3: It was maybe three inches of football close, but fortunately
- 32:36Speaker 3: came up short. And that's if you're if you're a
- 32:38Speaker 3: War Eagle fan, you just keep drinking your favorite beer
- 32:41Speaker 3: whiskey and hopefully get a win sometime soon.
- 32:46Speaker 1: Yeah, and as far as that end zone play to
- 32:49Speaker 1: put them up that much, it probably would have done it.
- 32:52Speaker 1: It's tough to say though, of course. Yeah, I guess
- 32:54Speaker 1: they did end up scoring twenty points, but you know,
- 33:00Speaker 1: if it would have been called a touchdown, it would
- 33:02Speaker 1: have stayed a touchdown. I think that's fair. I think
- 33:06Speaker 1: everybody can agree with that.
- 33:08Speaker 3: I do.
- 33:09Speaker 2: The ball did come loose before it got hit, so
- 33:12Speaker 2: it was a close play. But man, it's just like
- 33:14Speaker 2: you said this year that everything has just gone against them, including.
- 33:20Speaker 1: That Oklahoma game that you know right away they it
- 33:25Speaker 1: looked like the guy it was a scoop and score,
- 33:27Speaker 1: you know, but it is what it is. Georgia's a
- 33:32Speaker 1: very good team. They're not great, but you know, Kirby
- 33:37Speaker 1: was working the sidelines left and right, no doubt about it. Okay,
- 33:39Speaker 1: So last week after the Ukuala win a twenty four
- 33:45Speaker 1: and a half point underdog, we did discuss that they
- 33:50Speaker 1: got to tighten this up because not that we for
- 33:53Speaker 1: sure thought Franklin was gonna be gone or anything, but
- 33:57Speaker 1: we talked about how they're gonna lose a lot of
- 34:00Speaker 1: people to the draft.
- 34:02Speaker 2: No matter what. They don't have eligibility anymore. A lot
- 34:05Speaker 2: of them came back.
- 34:08Speaker 1: Now you could say their best two players left, you know,
- 34:11Speaker 1: for the draft last year, the defensive end and the
- 34:13Speaker 1: tight end. But like so they're already gonna lose that.
- 34:17Speaker 1: And then you think of the young players, whether they're
- 34:20Speaker 1: on the roster or the recruits, which the top running
- 34:24Speaker 1: back recruits already said that hold on, I'm gonna open
- 34:27Speaker 1: back up, and you thought, man, if he doesn't get
- 34:30Speaker 1: a hold of this locker room right now, they might
- 34:33Speaker 1: start losing those players, the young players that haven't developed
- 34:38Speaker 1: fully yet in recruiting and all that it could go
- 34:41Speaker 1: south and then to be another twenty was it twenty
- 34:45Speaker 1: twenty and.
- 34:45Speaker 3: A half something like that, Yeah, I think it was
- 34:47Speaker 3: twenty and a.
- 34:48Speaker 1: Half twenty a half, I think. And to lose that game,
- 34:53Speaker 1: that is just talk about it unraveling. So now they're
- 34:57Speaker 1: three and three, and dude, they were up a touchdown
- 35:02Speaker 1: in overtime, you know, like they were up in the overtime.
- 35:07Speaker 2: Against Oregon, and for it to come crashing down that way,
- 35:14Speaker 2: it's just something you don't see much at all.
- 35:17Speaker 1: And even in overtime, they didn't get the two point
- 35:21Speaker 1: conversion of Oregon, so if they would have scored and
- 35:24Speaker 1: done that, they could have won the game, you know,
- 35:25Speaker 1: So it's like, but to drop off that quickly, that's
- 35:31Speaker 1: that's crazy. Now as far as some of these other
- 35:38Speaker 1: firings as well.
- 35:39Speaker 2: The timing of them have me scratching my head.
- 35:43Speaker 1: I understand that a lot of these folks are putting
- 35:47Speaker 1: up money on the books now rather than under the table,
- 35:50Speaker 1: and they're putting up way more money than the envelope thing.
- 35:54Speaker 1: Or somehow they got a car or somehow under this
- 35:57Speaker 1: loan they got a house or whatever, putting up.
- 36:00Speaker 2: Real deal money, so there's less patience.
- 36:03Speaker 1: But I don't agree, because this is like the NBA
- 36:07Speaker 1: and NHL now where you fire your coaches way early.
- 36:11Speaker 1: I don't agree with the timing of these firings because
- 36:14Speaker 1: it's like, dude, what do you get in line for
- 36:17Speaker 1: when you're probably not gonna be some of these coaches.
- 36:19Speaker 1: You're not even to be able to get some of them,
- 36:22Speaker 1: like Asu Dillingham, they probably won't, you know, be They'll
- 36:25Speaker 1: probably be in a decent ballgame, but they I don't
- 36:28Speaker 1: see him making the conference final now, So yeah, you
- 36:30Speaker 1: could get him in December. There's some guys you can
- 36:32Speaker 1: get in December, but you're gonna be waiting anyway. A
- 36:35Speaker 1: lot of times in January. Now we know that they're
- 36:38Speaker 1: already talking. You kind of already know where people are going.
- 36:41Speaker 1: A lot of times we've seen that play out too,
- 36:43Speaker 1: where they're coaching, but you know they're gonna go someplace else.
- 36:46Speaker 1: But so the timing of it, I don't agree with
- 36:50Speaker 1: any of these early fires, But that doesn't mean that
- 36:54Speaker 1: there shouldn't be some like firing, including this one. But
- 37:00Speaker 1: Franklin's out, man. It's it's but they better do better
- 37:05Speaker 1: because if they don't, they may end up like Nebraska too.
- 37:09Speaker 1: What are your thoughts obviously you don't like Franklin, but
- 37:12Speaker 1: just in general, I mean, to be three and three
- 37:16Speaker 1: right now off of those games, it's pretty crazy.
- 37:21Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm definitely not a fan. I always thought the
- 37:24Speaker 3: guy was just kind of not a nice human, even
- 37:26Speaker 3: when he is a dan You That's why I started
- 37:28Speaker 3: not liking.
- 37:28Speaker 2: Him, Like, what do you mean not nice?
- 37:32Speaker 3: I just I just think he comes off as a
- 37:33Speaker 3: prick a lot of the time, okay human, Oh oh yeah,
- 37:38Speaker 3: just just comes off as a rude person to the
- 37:40Speaker 3: media and to the reporters. I but right, Kiffin's got
- 37:47Speaker 3: a little more of a sarcast in tense humor comparying
- 37:49Speaker 3: in my in my vote, but he does come off
- 37:52Speaker 3: like a can't think of if you don't like Kiff,
- 37:55Speaker 3: but I can see that for sure. I would say
- 37:57Speaker 3: him and Franklin a definitely different types of personalities, but.
- 38:01Speaker 2: The wrong way.
- 38:02Speaker 3: That's I won't deny that. But even this, even the fire,
- 38:08Speaker 3: I really was surprised with. Yeah, I I do think that. Yeah,
- 38:13Speaker 3: the dude was a play away from having probably his
- 38:15Speaker 3: best top tier ranked win ever in at a Penn
- 38:20Speaker 3: State field and then a few weeks later you're fired.
- 38:23Speaker 3: So you know that is crazy. I do think with
- 38:27Speaker 3: all the money that we keep throwing into not us
- 38:29Speaker 3: that that people keep thrown into college football, he does
- 38:32Speaker 3: raise the pressure. And I do feel that Penn State
- 38:35Speaker 3: feels like they're one of the top tier programs, which
- 38:38Speaker 3: I would say they're not. They're they're good, but they're
- 38:40Speaker 3: they're not. They're not Bama or Ohio State or even
- 38:43Speaker 3: what Clemson was for dabble, But I think they want
- 38:45Speaker 3: to be up there, right, And so with those expectations
- 38:49Speaker 3: comes a quicker leash. And obviously you did set history
- 38:54Speaker 3: with back to back twenty point favorite losses. But even
- 38:58Speaker 3: the fire to me is like, well damn Like you know, again,
- 39:01Speaker 3: not a fan, but the dude was there for quite
- 39:02Speaker 3: a while and had a good track record for a
- 39:05Speaker 3: very high B plus level tier team. But I think
- 39:09Speaker 3: this has just come with the age of it now, Chris,
- 39:11Speaker 3: to where you there, there's higher expectations and people have
- 39:15Speaker 3: shorter patients, and for better or worse, whether it's coaches
- 39:18Speaker 3: or players or the boosters or alumnis, people just make
- 39:21Speaker 3: quicker decisions. It doesn't means that I was gonna be
- 39:24Speaker 3: the best. Maybe sometimes it is, you know, like I
- 39:28Speaker 3: just I mean, for hell, Patina just I'm just kid
- 39:32Speaker 3: skinning me a but Patino, for I remember Patino last
- 39:34Speaker 3: year for Saint John's basketball, he had like one of
- 39:37Speaker 3: his like players that got confidence with your player, and
- 39:39Speaker 3: the dude just like left the team this year. You know,
- 39:41Speaker 3: it's like there's we're seeing just like new different ship
- 39:45Speaker 3: in college sports that we're not used to seeing, where
- 39:48Speaker 3: guys leave early or they do these tiers early, and
- 39:50Speaker 3: it's just a different mindset from a coach and a
- 39:54Speaker 3: player perspective, Like I think that kid left because he
- 39:56Speaker 3: didn't get up playing time and like the last game
- 39:57Speaker 3: of the year. You know that we're seeing new things
- 39:59Speaker 3: happen sports. For residents fans, we have to kind of
- 40:01Speaker 3: just adapt to it because we're not used to it.
- 40:04Speaker 3: But it's it's not going away either, So againting out, hey,
- 40:08Speaker 3: someone's gonna be walking into a good job. Again, it's
- 40:12Speaker 3: not Tuscaloosa, uh or maybe like LSU, but it's a
- 40:17Speaker 3: high it's a high end job. You're you're getting a
- 40:19Speaker 3: pretty diet damn good football team next year you should
- 40:21Speaker 3: have from your ranked You're gonna have the tellent you want.
- 40:23Speaker 3: Maybe're gonna lose a couple of recruits, but it's like
- 40:27Speaker 3: your recruit is not gonna fall off the map, Penn say,
- 40:29Speaker 3: You're still gonna get top to your tail there, So hey,
- 40:32Speaker 3: you made a decision again for the rest of the year.
- 40:34Speaker 3: Now kind of puts you in a weird spot though,
- 40:37Speaker 3: probably have a coordinator takeover, but you're you're end of
- 40:41Speaker 3: it for the rest of the year. How does your
- 40:43Speaker 3: team recover? Sometimes?
- 40:45Speaker 2: Like, yo, you legit they got two legit coordinators too,
- 40:48Speaker 2: Like yeah, do they just go away then?
- 40:50Speaker 1: You know, like it's it matters who they hire, of course,
- 40:53Speaker 1: but yeah, that's I don't know, man.
- 40:56Speaker 3: Yeah, but I mean sometimes they get like a guy
- 40:58Speaker 3: like Coacho who took over, and you know, sometimes this
- 41:00Speaker 3: could be a new opening for a guy to kind
- 41:03Speaker 3: of start his career and burden. But you know, you
- 41:05Speaker 3: do have to two top tier coordinators. But those are
- 41:08Speaker 3: also O season DC's, they're a head coaches, they're they're
- 41:11Speaker 3: they're they're paid to specialized in their own side of
- 41:13Speaker 3: the ball.
- 41:14Speaker 2: So but I'm saying, are they going to stay there?
- 41:16Speaker 2: You know with the new guy? That's what I'm saying. Yeah,
- 41:19Speaker 2: they they have new deals, you know.
- 41:21Speaker 3: What I mean.
- 41:21Speaker 2: So, yeah, you have to buy those guys out, you know,
- 41:24Speaker 2: like it just gets weird, that's all.
- 41:26Speaker 3: Yeah, so hey, but they made the choice. Again, definitely
- 41:29Speaker 3: a quick reaction. But again money talks, and that's the
- 41:34Speaker 3: new world we're living in for sports in a way.
- 41:36Speaker 2: I just know, Nebraska thought they were something that they weren't.
- 41:40Speaker 2: And you could even say Florida with.
- 41:42Speaker 1: Mullen, thought they were something that they they are, but
- 41:44Speaker 1: they weren't as bad as they felt.
- 41:46Speaker 2: Like they were.
- 41:47Speaker 3: You know.
- 41:48Speaker 1: So right now it's the top spot. We assume Florida.
- 41:52Speaker 1: I shouldn't say we you hear that it's gonna come open.
- 41:55Speaker 1: I don't know, but that would that would move up
- 41:58Speaker 1: a little bit above Penn State. But both of those
- 42:01Speaker 1: would be the top ones.
- 42:02Speaker 2: But when you look at you know, five finishes in
- 42:05Speaker 2: the top ten six to ten win seasons, they did
- 42:09Speaker 2: only win one Big Ten championship, but coming out of
- 42:12Speaker 2: Michigan State, Michigan and Ohio State when they're in the East,
- 42:15Speaker 2: a bunch of different Big you know Bowl games, like.
- 42:20Speaker 1: Allard had a couple of mistakes, especially down the stretch,
- 42:24Speaker 1: and or otherwise they'd be in the final game. Now,
- 42:27Speaker 1: the one thing I'll say is SMU and Boise State
- 42:31Speaker 1: to get there. We were a lighter schedule, so that helped.
- 42:35Speaker 1: Here's Tom Fernellie. Look at his stat so that Villanova
- 42:39Speaker 1: win earlier this year was one hundred and four, one
- 42:43Speaker 1: hundred and fourth win, right, so he tied for second
- 42:46Speaker 1: most all time and he wasn't able to get the
- 42:51Speaker 1: one hundred and fifth win. They fired him before that, dude,
- 42:55Speaker 1: So he's now tied for second. He's now they don't
- 42:58Speaker 1: have to give any of him back. And that's another
- 43:00Speaker 1: thing we know.
- 43:01Speaker 2: O'Brien helped right away after they lost all those scholarships
- 43:05Speaker 2: and stuff, but it's not like they had a ten
- 43:07Speaker 2: and two season with them. So compared to where Penn
- 43:10Speaker 2: State was and where he brought him, it was damn respectable.
- 43:15Speaker 2: So bo Polini and Nebraska they brought in Riley. I
- 43:20Speaker 2: think it's Mike Riley.
- 43:21Speaker 1: I think his name is like, you better come with something,
- 43:26Speaker 1: you know, Signetti, Dillingham whatever, I don't know. Marcus Freeman,
- 43:31Speaker 1: Brent Key from Georgia Tech, Elko's names out there. Although
- 43:37Speaker 1: they have just as many resources. Now you could say,
- 43:40Speaker 1: well it's not the Big ten does to go six
- 43:43Speaker 1: or eight deep. So the seasons are easier or less difficult.
- 43:48Speaker 1: I guess you could say I've even heard many Diaz
- 43:52Speaker 1: and your boy drink events. I know he's not your boy,
- 43:56Speaker 1: you don't like him, but I don't know, Man, I
- 44:00Speaker 1: think it's I wouldn't have pulled the trigger. I remember
- 44:06Speaker 1: a couple of years back where Harbaugh had him going
- 44:09Speaker 1: up in the ten eleven wins and then they fell off.
- 44:13Speaker 1: They had that like mediocre year. The COVID year was different,
- 44:17Speaker 1: but they did have like an eight and four year
- 44:20Speaker 1: and and it it kind of looked like he made
- 44:23Speaker 1: a run and it's over, and then they stuck with
- 44:25Speaker 1: him and then it you know.
- 44:27Speaker 2: So I don't know, I wouldn't have I wouldn't have
- 44:29Speaker 2: done that.
- 44:30Speaker 1: But they better bring in someone better than him. Now
- 44:35Speaker 1: it's forty nine million, they'll probably break it up over
- 44:38Speaker 1: a couple of years. But man, that was I'd say
- 44:42Speaker 1: that was definitely shocking. Okay, let's get to week eight
- 44:45Speaker 1: because we're kind of going long. We had a lot
- 44:48Speaker 1: to talk about. You know, we have some big games
- 44:52Speaker 1: on Friday, uh Miami against a dangerous Louisville team. They
- 44:58Speaker 1: do have a good defense. They're off is kind of
- 45:00Speaker 1: up and down. Well coached, got a guy that can
- 45:06Speaker 1: slang it, but he also slangs it to.
- 45:08Speaker 2: The other side.
- 45:09Speaker 1: Yeah, Louisville and then Nebraska is ranked and they now
- 45:14Speaker 1: have two wins. I think two out of three one
- 45:17Speaker 1: score games this year. They're fairly is it? I see
- 45:23Speaker 1: like a minus eight and a half whatever. We'll get
- 45:26Speaker 1: to those games. We'll talk it three of them. But
- 45:28Speaker 1: I want to talk about some of the the really
- 45:31Speaker 1: big big matchups.
- 45:32Speaker 3: Old Miss.
- 45:35Speaker 2: Going on the road. They they almost got caught in
- 45:37Speaker 2: the look ahead.
- 45:40Speaker 1: Now their defense doesn't seem as good as there there
- 45:44Speaker 1: it was last year, but then their offense looks like
- 45:47Speaker 1: it's it's doing its thing again and it's a run pass.
- 45:51Speaker 1: I'd say Chambliss had his most mediocre game last week,
- 45:58Speaker 1: but to be fair like, it just feels like, even
- 46:02Speaker 1: though you look at the rushing yards per game for
- 46:04Speaker 1: Georgia one eighty five, it just doesn't feel like they
- 46:07Speaker 1: can do that though on a regular basis, not like
- 46:10Speaker 1: you're gonna get to one hundred and eighty five every week,
- 46:12Speaker 1: but it just doesn't seem like they can run like
- 46:16Speaker 1: they used to be able to obviously, but then again,
- 46:19Speaker 1: O Miss, they're giving up a buck fifty seven. They've
- 46:21Speaker 1: played some run heavy teams, so you got to put
- 46:24Speaker 1: that in the equation on some of these stats.
- 46:27Speaker 2: But what says you about this one?
- 46:30Speaker 3: Man?
- 46:30Speaker 2: Gunner Stockton is a good college quarterback. But if you're
- 46:35Speaker 2: if you're trailed.
- 46:36Speaker 1: Georgia needs to not get off the slow starts, man,
- 46:39Speaker 1: because then they can naturally have Gunner stocked and do
- 46:43Speaker 1: the run pass and run run and then set up
- 46:47Speaker 1: a big pass because they are better at wide receiver
- 46:51Speaker 1: this year. But what says you about this one last
- 46:54Speaker 1: year twenty eight to ten, the year before Georgia fifty
- 46:58Speaker 1: two to seventeen. Well, what are your thoughts? What are
- 47:02Speaker 1: your thoughts on this matchup?
- 47:03Speaker 2: Man?
- 47:04Speaker 3: Uh? I, you know, I don't. I don't think george
- 47:07Speaker 3: is from a betting perspective, I don't know why Georgia
- 47:10Speaker 3: should be minus seven and a half. I definitely like
- 47:13Speaker 3: old miss with a touchdown plus a half extra point.
- 47:17Speaker 3: You know, could Georgia win? For sure? They we as
- 47:20Speaker 3: we've seen, they're a resilient team. They're annoying as hell,
- 47:24Speaker 3: and Kirby's mantra and bullshit. You know. Another guy that
- 47:27Speaker 3: I'm not a huge fan of but again neither laying
- 47:29Speaker 3: Rob two rung Way two. I think it should be
- 47:33Speaker 3: a close game. I know last year Old Miss kind
- 47:35Speaker 3: of wooped their ass, and year before Georgie did it.
- 47:40Speaker 3: I do think again, like we've been saying about for Bama,
- 47:42Speaker 3: this is another hard game for Georgia. Georgia and Bama
- 47:45Speaker 3: really haven't had any sleep sleep like sleepwalking games. Like
- 47:49Speaker 3: you were just an Auburn, you had to you had
- 47:51Speaker 3: to grind that one out. Now Old Miss cops thing
- 47:54Speaker 3: to have, but that wasn't really a grindout versus Wazoo
- 47:56Speaker 3: and never you know, so, I think from a scheduling standpoint,
- 48:00Speaker 3: Old Miss is favored. From a home field standpoint, obviously Georgia.
- 48:04Speaker 3: You know, they have a record pretty much like Ottson
- 48:06Speaker 3: and Oregon where Georgia will lose much at home either
- 48:08Speaker 3: up until Bama what they'd won thirty three home conference
- 48:12Speaker 3: games in a row or something like that. So could
- 48:15Speaker 3: they lose tun or row at home, it'd be pushing
- 48:18Speaker 3: a lot. I just think it's gonna be a close
- 48:21Speaker 3: football game. And again kind of like with Miszoo and
- 48:25Speaker 3: drink with Kiff and again he keeps kind of pushing
- 48:28Speaker 3: the barrel up the hill, you know for Old Miss
- 48:31Speaker 3: keep kind of achieving new goals. This would be a
- 48:33Speaker 3: big one to win at Georgia. Now, the Old Miss
- 48:37Speaker 3: at home is raising their game up under Kiffin, but
- 48:40Speaker 3: to go to Georgia and get a win there, that
- 48:42Speaker 3: would be a big step in the right direction. I
- 48:45Speaker 3: hope they pull it off. I would definitely take Old
- 48:47Speaker 3: Miss plus the seven and a half and I'm gonna
- 48:50Speaker 3: I'm gonna say they win because I can't go against
- 48:52Speaker 3: my guy. But I think this would be a very fun,
- 48:55Speaker 3: full game to watch that I think won't be a
- 48:57Speaker 3: blot like the last couple of years have. I think
- 48:59Speaker 3: this will be a fourth quarter game because that's what
- 49:01Speaker 3: Georgia Seawan is here. Chris. Are they a great team? No,
- 49:05Speaker 3: but you know they keep shit close, but they find
- 49:07Speaker 3: ways to win, you know, for the most part. So
- 49:09Speaker 3: it should be a fun one.
- 49:12Speaker 2: Yeah, definitely.
- 49:13Speaker 1: I'm probably gonna buy something juiced up a little bit.
- 49:17Speaker 2: But I mean, I don't I agree. I don't think
- 49:20Speaker 2: they should.
- 49:21Speaker 1: Be that much of a favorite this year, just with
- 49:25Speaker 1: the current squad, But a lot of it just comes
- 49:27Speaker 1: down to that getting off to a better start. Man,
- 49:29Speaker 1: if they can get off to a better start, then
- 49:32Speaker 1: I think they're just so much better offensively. And then
- 49:35Speaker 1: also like their defense, even last year or last week
- 49:40Speaker 1: when they're playing a bad line, like they still didn't
- 49:43Speaker 1: really get as much pressure as they needed.
- 49:45Speaker 2: They got more, but that was due they they I
- 49:49Speaker 2: think last the week before that, I think, yeah, I
- 49:53Speaker 2: think the week before was their first sack of the year. Like,
- 49:56Speaker 2: Georgia is just not getting to the quarterbacks.
- 49:59Speaker 1: So if you're gonna let oh boy run around and
- 50:02Speaker 1: throw it like good luck, dude, that's not gonna be
- 50:05Speaker 1: great because olds, you know, can score. So I like
- 50:09Speaker 1: Georgia too, but I would just because like you said,
- 50:12Speaker 1: like historically speaking, are they gonna lose.
- 50:15Speaker 2: Back to back home games. Probably not.
- 50:18Speaker 1: It could take like some major injuries too for that
- 50:22Speaker 1: to happen during the game. But they don't have a
- 50:25Speaker 1: great line and they don't get a lot of pressure.
- 50:29Speaker 1: So I like the plus number. But I got Georgia
- 50:33Speaker 1: Tennessee going on the road to Bama. You know, they're
- 50:39Speaker 1: not as good defensively last year as they were Tennessee,
- 50:44Speaker 1: but re membery it was all defense, no offense. Well
- 50:46Speaker 1: it's kind of flipped around now, Tennessee given up twenty
- 50:50Speaker 1: nine points outing, which is not good at all. But
- 50:55Speaker 1: they're they're scoring with the best of them.
- 50:57Speaker 3: You know.
- 51:00Speaker 1: Get this, the volunteers thirty seven touchdowns is fourth most
- 51:04Speaker 1: according to Fox Facts, but the passing touchdowns is third
- 51:09Speaker 1: most for Crimson Tide.
- 51:10Speaker 2: So I mean, you know, and well that goes along
- 51:13Speaker 2: with receiving as well. So you know, what is the
- 51:18Speaker 2: what have we got? Fifty eight?
- 51:20Speaker 1: Man, I might go over. I don't know, that's a
- 51:22Speaker 1: good number. Fifty eight and a half. That's tough to to.
- 51:26Speaker 2: I might go over.
- 51:28Speaker 1: But you know that plus number plus eight and a half,
- 51:31Speaker 1: if you could get at ten and a half or
- 51:34Speaker 1: even nine and a half, or maybe just take it
- 51:36Speaker 1: right away, I wouldn't doubt if it comes down to
- 51:39Speaker 1: the wire, per se. But I think jam Miller, if
- 51:42Speaker 1: you could stay healthy, they'll be able to run a
- 51:44Speaker 1: little bit more. Ty Simpson better quarterback here. So I
- 51:48Speaker 1: do like Bama, But that plus number kind of looking
- 51:51Speaker 1: at it sideways. You know, in Tennessee, as we know,
- 51:54Speaker 1: they beat him last year, and then a few years
- 51:57Speaker 1: ago they beat him in that epic fifty two to
- 51:59Speaker 1: forty nine. I remember exactly who I was with and
- 52:03Speaker 1: where I watched it, But yeah, I like Bama here.
- 52:08Speaker 1: But I'm looking at those points number and thinking, hmm,
- 52:11Speaker 1: there's a lot of against the spread stuff this week
- 52:14Speaker 1: where it's got me thinking, huh, like how many bets
- 52:17Speaker 1: do I really want to make in the plus?
- 52:19Speaker 2: Though?
- 52:20Speaker 3: You know, I'll take Tennessee. And this just comes out
- 52:24Speaker 3: to a mental point of can Bama get up for
- 52:26Speaker 3: another big game? Like holy shit? Like we talked, we
- 52:29Speaker 3: preach a lot about Florida's heart schedule for Bama, like
- 52:33Speaker 3: and yes, they have great athletes, Yes they're probably bear
- 52:35Speaker 3: team in Tennessee, but dude, we're asking for a bunch
- 52:39Speaker 3: of nineteen twenty year old kids who were driving lexuses
- 52:41Speaker 3: and all sorts of crazy shit, like, Yo, you had
- 52:44Speaker 3: a huge win against Georgia, tough win against Vandy, squeaked
- 52:48Speaker 3: went out against Miszoon. Now you're at Tennessee. Like that's
- 52:51Speaker 3: four games in a row where they're all ranked teams,
- 52:55Speaker 3: and you've not had like that one little easy like
- 52:58Speaker 3: Kentucky or you know, or shit Florida or you know,
- 53:04Speaker 3: like you know, they've had a really hard schedule. So
- 53:06Speaker 3: you'd assume, just from a pure sports schedule standpoint, they're
- 53:11Speaker 3: due for letdown and obviously Tennessee you know that. I
- 53:15Speaker 3: mean it's a rivalry game, bring it up for it,
- 53:17Speaker 3: But can Bamba get up for another big game that
- 53:20Speaker 3: is more meaningful to Tennessee? Like, I don't know. I
- 53:23Speaker 3: just think I picked them to lose just off scheduling. Again,
- 53:26Speaker 3: I think they're a better team, but sometimes Chris schedules
- 53:29Speaker 3: get you. And if they can win this one, like,
- 53:32Speaker 3: I'm probably gonna throw some money on Bama to win
- 53:33Speaker 3: the national title because I don't think they'll run the
- 53:35Speaker 3: whole season table. But if you can win four ring
- 53:38Speaker 3: games in a row, what what else? I mean? Okay,
- 53:41Speaker 3: maybe they don't have Ohio States defense, but shit, Ohio
- 53:44Speaker 3: State and going through a gut like Bama's going through,
- 53:46Speaker 3: and I can tell you that.
- 53:48Speaker 1: Yeah, true, that's a good point. And you know, I
- 53:52Speaker 1: definitely looking at that plus number. But you're right, I
- 53:55Speaker 1: mean it's I wouldn't even hold it against them, really,
- 53:58Speaker 1: you know, I mean they'd still only have one life
- 54:00Speaker 1: the conference as long as they won out.
- 54:02Speaker 3: Oh if they lose, Yeah, this stin't a bad loss.
- 54:05Speaker 1: No, I mean it's at home, sure, but yeah, overall,
- 54:09Speaker 1: I wouldn't look at it like now obviously if they
- 54:12Speaker 1: got you know, if it was thirty seven to seventeen
- 54:16Speaker 1: or something. But overall, yeah, I mean they it could
- 54:21Speaker 1: be just one of those things, and they're more battle tested,
- 54:24Speaker 1: and you know, nowadays, you just got to get in,
- 54:28Speaker 1: as we saw, you know with how State last year.
- 54:32Speaker 1: You just got to get in, and you gotta be talented,
- 54:34Speaker 1: of course, but you got to put it all together.
- 54:36Speaker 1: And it appears that they're putting it together. But we'll see,
- 54:42Speaker 1: all right, USC on the road they got two back
- 54:46Speaker 1: to back games on the road.
- 54:48Speaker 2: At Nebraska next week or the week after one of
- 54:50Speaker 2: the two at yeah, because they already had they had
- 54:54Speaker 2: to buy this last week UFC.
- 54:57Speaker 1: That's right, so or two weeks ago whatever after the
- 54:59Speaker 1: Illinois loss. All right, Notre Dame has gotten their shit together. Offensively,
- 55:05Speaker 1: Carr is looking like you know, we saw him against
- 55:08Speaker 1: Miami and at the start it didn't look so good,
- 55:12Speaker 1: but he made some plays, especially on those scramble plays
- 55:16Speaker 1: where you're like, wow, okay, this kid's good man. And
- 55:19Speaker 1: now they're getting more confidence in them. So offensively, i'd
- 55:23Speaker 1: say they're they're better than they were last year because
- 55:27Speaker 1: they're putting up forty points a game, but their defense
- 55:32Speaker 1: is just not where it has been for for like
- 55:35Speaker 1: a decade, it feels like. So that's troubling because USC
- 55:38Speaker 1: comes in, you know, looking really good offensively too. They're
- 55:43Speaker 1: putting up forty five points.
- 55:44Speaker 2: So you know, the two losses very close to Miami
- 55:48Speaker 2: in A and M. I mean, that's top. What's A
- 55:50Speaker 2: and M right now? Fifth? What are five losses? You know?
- 55:55Speaker 2: And we know that Notre Dame had that bad snap.
- 55:59Speaker 1: Otherwise it may go into overtime. So that now A
- 56:04Speaker 1: and M came back and scored on him, and who
- 56:05Speaker 1: knows who would have won that game, But it was
- 56:07Speaker 1: close and it's at home. I already have a plus
- 56:12Speaker 1: ten and a half on the books for your Trojans.
- 56:18Speaker 1: But you know, like here's something interesting, right and they
- 56:22Speaker 1: need obviously Love needs to continue to get better, but
- 56:26Speaker 1: the offensive line needs to be better too. It's not
- 56:28Speaker 1: just Love, but he is starting to put up yards now.
- 56:31Speaker 1: But the Trojans are third in yards overall in Division
- 56:36Speaker 1: one and then eight point two in D one. That's
- 56:41Speaker 1: the highest, that's the highest per play. Now here's the
- 56:46Speaker 1: crazy part. The Irish have eleven interceptions, and we've seen
- 56:51Speaker 1: their secondary not look good. It looks like they're starting
- 56:55Speaker 1: to make plays back, so that you know now who
- 56:59Speaker 1: they make those. That's something you know, we could we
- 57:03Speaker 1: could wonder. But the running back Sanders is done for
- 57:09Speaker 1: the year and it looks like a why a wide
- 57:14Speaker 1: receiver and a tight end tight ends questionable? Flanagan Gilbert
- 57:19Speaker 1: won't be available versus USC. But what are your thoughts
- 57:23Speaker 1: going in this game? It's a you know, it's a
- 57:25Speaker 1: it's a good rivalry. It was a fun game last year,
- 57:30Speaker 1: that's for sure. And really that that Gilbert only has
- 57:34Speaker 1: four catches, I'm checking it out right now. I remember
- 57:36Speaker 1: that touchdown, remember that name. But well, what says you
- 57:39Speaker 1: about this one? It's it's been it's two and two
- 57:42Speaker 1: in the last four games. Actually, no, I'm sorry three
- 57:45Speaker 1: and one, because they've played pretty much every year.
- 57:49Speaker 2: Notre to name the USC for a while.
- 57:51Speaker 3: Well. As a huge fan of Jordan, of Jadamyaeva, Chris,
- 57:55Speaker 3: I gotta say, I'm really liking that. I need to
- 57:59Speaker 3: make you smile. Hey, this is one of those things
- 58:02Speaker 3: where again for Lincoln, this could be a big win
- 58:05Speaker 3: in the right direction. I feel like all my teams
- 58:07Speaker 3: are going through a lot of just monu mental ship
- 58:09Speaker 3: right now, and we haven't got to MISSOI yet. This
- 58:11Speaker 3: is gonna be an emotional weekend. I gotta celebrate in
- 58:13Speaker 3: two year anniversary. Saturday is gonna be a hell of
- 58:15Speaker 3: a day, brother, I'm telling you, I might I might
- 58:17Speaker 3: need to phone in and phone or front and get
- 58:19Speaker 3: some viewership for some of these games in the past
- 58:24Speaker 3: ten years, this is the game that the USC loses, right,
- 58:27Speaker 3: you know, the You had a good win last week. Again,
- 58:29Speaker 3: I'm not Michigan's not top tier, but it was. It
- 58:31Speaker 3: was a good win. You did beat a ranked team.
- 58:33Speaker 3: You can't take that away. But Notre Dame normally has
- 58:37Speaker 3: had her number when we go there. We've had obviously
- 58:41Speaker 3: some good teams back in the day who beat them,
- 58:43Speaker 3: but normally this is a tough spot for us. But
- 58:45Speaker 3: maybe visit now again. Offenses homing, but Lincoln always has
- 58:50Speaker 3: an offense. Hell, we had offense with Clay Helton too.
- 58:52Speaker 3: But it's like the defense, like, you know, this might
- 58:55Speaker 3: be the best test that USC spaces here so far, Chris,
- 58:58Speaker 3: from a defensive standpoint, I know, I know their win
- 59:02Speaker 3: last record looks nice. I do think obviously missions quarterbacks athletic,
- 59:07Speaker 3: but uh, he's not going to give you as much pressure.
- 59:12Speaker 3: Car will probably pressure USC's defense more, and Notre Dame
- 59:15Speaker 3: can run the ball really well. I man. I will say, though,
- 59:21Speaker 3: the only thing that maybe concerns me is the points
- 59:23Speaker 3: spread is high. Like if you watch both these teams play,
- 59:27Speaker 3: I think this is Vegas's way of saying, dude, USC
- 59:31Speaker 3: is not not on the same level as Notre Dame,
- 59:33Speaker 3: because I think if you if you just watched him,
- 59:35Speaker 3: if you didn't look at the points spread, Chris, you
- 59:37Speaker 3: assumes maybe like three to five points. The fact that
- 59:40Speaker 3: it's almost ten tells me that Vegas does not respect
- 59:44Speaker 3: USC right now. So I hope we prove it wrong.
- 59:47Speaker 3: But that spread scene that unless there's an injury we're
- 59:50Speaker 3: unaware of, which I don't think there is, that's a
- 59:52Speaker 3: huge injury to a quarterback.
- 59:54Speaker 2: I mean they yeah, running backs running, yeah, which, but.
- 1:00:00Speaker 3: But that that's not gonna affect the point spread as
- 1:00:02Speaker 3: drafticly as we both think. So, hey, this would be
- 1:00:06Speaker 3: a great win for Lincoln. I hope they pulled off.
- 1:00:09Speaker 3: I think again, that quarterback's playing great, and as we've
- 1:00:12Speaker 3: seen with Notre Dame, their secondary has been a little
- 1:00:15Speaker 3: prone to leaving guys wide open. So yeah, it should
- 1:00:18Speaker 3: be a fun one. I'm gonna take my USC definitely
- 1:00:20Speaker 3: plus nine and a half. Like you, I hope they
- 1:00:22Speaker 3: can pull up the upset. Yeah, this would This would
- 1:00:26Speaker 3: be a good one for Lincoln to pull off. This
- 1:00:27Speaker 3: would be a big step in the right direction and
- 1:00:29Speaker 3: would increase their chance of being a USC playoff team.
- 1:00:33Speaker 3: We haven't said that sentence for the last time I
- 1:00:36Speaker 3: said that, so.
- 1:00:40Speaker 2: Well, that was three years ago. They would have been
- 1:00:43Speaker 2: in the playoffs.
- 1:00:43Speaker 3: If it was like this, if they would have won
- 1:00:45Speaker 3: that game. Yeah, but not that.
- 1:00:47Speaker 2: But if it was, if it was twelve, they would
- 1:00:49Speaker 2: have been in.
- 1:00:49Speaker 3: Oh true, you're a yeah, that's fair.
- 1:00:51Speaker 1: Yeah, I like Notre Dame to win the game, just barely,
- 1:00:55Speaker 1: but yeah, that point spread, I don't know about all that.
- 1:00:58Speaker 2: And you know who's Notre Dame beat? Now we know
- 1:01:00Speaker 2: who they.
- 1:01:00Speaker 1: Lost to andrespectable, but with the beat, you know that.
- 1:01:05Speaker 1: That's what I wonder too. So yeah, it's gonna be interesting.
- 1:01:08Speaker 1: It's gonna be interesting. Here's the one LS. This is
- 1:01:11Speaker 1: eleven o'clock. It's just amazing. We've mentioned this every year
- 1:01:15Speaker 1: since Fox started doing the the big noon they call it.
- 1:01:20Speaker 1: It's amazing how many great games are early now just
- 1:01:23Speaker 1: like that. Oh wow, we could start them at eleven
- 1:01:25Speaker 1: on Central and it's good. LSU at Vandy Vandy the
- 1:01:31Speaker 1: slight favorite minus two and a half.
- 1:01:36Speaker 2: You know, like we know Vandy they had a bye.
- 1:01:41Speaker 2: We correct, I'll forget, so that's huge.
- 1:01:47Speaker 1: Holding the ball keeping Vandy off the field is gonna
- 1:01:51Speaker 1: be tough, like moving the sticks. It's gonna be tough,
- 1:01:57Speaker 1: just because LSU. You know, they're lines not where it
- 1:02:01Speaker 1: normally is in their running game. They got a little
- 1:02:03Speaker 1: one going last week, but they got to continue that.
- 1:02:07Speaker 1: They have to run the ball, and I just I
- 1:02:11Speaker 1: don't know, man, I don't think they could do it.
- 1:02:15Speaker 1: But clearly it's a pick him game in Vegas's mind.
- 1:02:19Speaker 1: With I guess you could say LSU on a neutral
- 1:02:22Speaker 1: site would be a very slight favorite. But I'm thinking
- 1:02:27Speaker 1: Vanny's gonna bounce back and get the job done. I'm
- 1:02:31Speaker 1: kind of looking at taking that minus two and a
- 1:02:35Speaker 1: half because you know, I got multiple plus numbers in
- 1:02:40Speaker 1: I gotta start getting the favorites bets in there too.
- 1:02:43Speaker 3: Now, Yeah, I'm with you. I just think that, Hey, Vandy.
- 1:02:48Speaker 3: Vandy went toe to toe with Bama, and I really
- 1:02:50Speaker 3: thought in the Battle of Trenches they did pretty well.
- 1:02:54Speaker 2: So yeah, if it wasn't for those turnovers, that could
- 1:02:56Speaker 2: have been a different game.
- 1:02:57Speaker 3: Yeah, And I think that kind of just showed you
- 1:03:00Speaker 3: that after that, that that when Vandy beat Bama last year,
- 1:03:04Speaker 3: that truly was a a team franchised winning change. And
- 1:03:10Speaker 3: now they are ranked now they have some of the boys,
- 1:03:12Speaker 3: they have a quarterback, they have a coach, and it's
- 1:03:15Speaker 3: at Vandy like there's no death value support. You have
- 1:03:19Speaker 3: seen the nuss Meyer, who was a preseason Heisman candidate,
- 1:03:23Speaker 3: has really struggled, only nine touchdowns for five and five picks.
- 1:03:28Speaker 3: Brian Kelly gets very defensive of this quarterback. As you've
- 1:03:31Speaker 3: seen my reports, say, coach, what's wrong of their offense?
- 1:03:33Speaker 3: We won the game, that's all matters.
- 1:03:35Speaker 2: Don't worry about it.
- 1:03:36Speaker 3: You can have a shitty offense, will still be a
- 1:03:38Speaker 3: good football team. Like that does happen two thousand ravens,
- 1:03:41Speaker 3: you know, But I just LSU was.
- 1:03:45Speaker 2: Kind of like that years ago. First one say that, actually.
- 1:03:49Speaker 3: Yeah, you're you're right, So I I just think that
- 1:03:52Speaker 3: I'm with you. I think these are two pretty evenly
- 1:03:54Speaker 3: keeled teams. But I think that not being the death
- 1:03:57Speaker 3: value is helpful for Vandy. They do have a bye
- 1:03:59Speaker 3: to readjust and yeah, that's pretty key. Yeah, but I
- 1:04:04Speaker 3: just think the way they handled the trenches versus Bama
- 1:04:06Speaker 3: shows me you need versus l s U. And Pavia
- 1:04:10Speaker 3: is gonna hopefully do his part there because I'm probably
- 1:04:12Speaker 3: gonna be with you. I'm probably gonna bet Bandy as well,
- 1:04:14Speaker 3: so I'll take an L I'll take a Vandy win.
- 1:04:18Speaker 3: And yeah, I just think, now if it's in Death Valley,
- 1:04:20Speaker 3: different situation, but it's not Death Valley, and I'm not
- 1:04:22Speaker 3: saying Bandy's gonna be lit. But yeah, I'm sure probably
- 1:04:25Speaker 3: a sell out there for sure. But it's eleven AM.
- 1:04:27Speaker 3: That's bad. Sure, Yeah, yeah, man, there's a lot, there's
- 1:04:33Speaker 3: a lot of football games to watch on hell the
- 1:04:35Speaker 3: SEC alone. You got LSU Vandy at eleven h the
- 1:04:41Speaker 3: two point thirty ish Tennessee Obama and then I I mean, dude,
- 1:04:47Speaker 3: a great SEC day plus many others.
- 1:04:49Speaker 2: Yeah, and we're not done just yet.
- 1:04:52Speaker 1: Two games I want to put together, Utah at b Yu,
- 1:04:58Speaker 1: their favorite three and a half points. B Yu I
- 1:05:02Speaker 1: think has the better quarterback, especially if it's you know, passing,
- 1:05:07Speaker 1: but you know, Utah they looked the part. Then they
- 1:05:11Speaker 1: just got their ass whooped. But then again, now Dan
- 1:05:14Speaker 1: Pier's back. I don't know Byu could have lost last
- 1:05:17Speaker 1: week to neither of them have like a bunch of
- 1:05:19Speaker 1: quality wins or like two quality wins or nothing like that.
- 1:05:22Speaker 2: So it's the Holy War. I want you to take
- 1:05:25Speaker 2: on that.
- 1:05:25Speaker 1: And then Missouri going to Auburn, and I just gotta
- 1:05:29Speaker 1: think Auburn's do because they have talent and at some
- 1:05:33Speaker 1: point the ship's just gonna bounce their way.
- 1:05:36Speaker 2: What says you about those two matchups?
- 1:05:40Speaker 3: Man? I am, I am a little bit surprised that
- 1:05:42Speaker 3: Utah's favored at Uyu. Bachmeyer I believe is healthy should
- 1:05:48Speaker 3: be good to go for Buyu. I I yeah, uh man.
- 1:05:53Speaker 3: And this is a bad blood Lib rivalry. I know
- 1:05:55Speaker 3: it doesn't get up there with the news of like Minnesota,
- 1:05:58Speaker 3: Wisconsin or Bama Auburn, you know, Carolina Duke whatever sport,
- 1:06:02Speaker 3: but this is they really don't they really hate each other.
- 1:06:04Speaker 3: This is a lot of ferocity. I guess you could
- 1:06:07Speaker 3: say in Utah mormonland. I do think that Byu wins Uh,
- 1:06:13Speaker 3: it's hard for me to block out the fact that
- 1:06:15Speaker 3: Utah got like boat raced by Texas Tech. I know
- 1:06:20Speaker 3: Texas Tech is a legitimate squad, which is could be
- 1:06:24Speaker 3: a Final four team this year the way they're playing.
- 1:06:26Speaker 3: But I'll take the home team, especially home team getting
- 1:06:29Speaker 3: points in a huge droughtvery game. And for Maszoo, hey,
- 1:06:32Speaker 3: you had you had a hiccup against Bama or a
- 1:06:35Speaker 3: letdown or whatever you want to call it. Whatever. Uh,
- 1:06:37Speaker 3: but if you want to make the playoffs year, which
- 1:06:39Speaker 3: you can still do because you have an easier schedule,
- 1:06:41Speaker 3: you gotta win this one. You can't leave. You don't
- 1:06:43Speaker 3: let one loss become two. I think Miszoo has a chance,
- 1:06:48Speaker 3: But if I mean chat, I can see this going
- 1:06:51Speaker 3: two ways. Chris auburns like, dude, what the f We're deflated?
- 1:06:55Speaker 3: Miszoo comes up for in cavin easy win? Or hey
- 1:06:59Speaker 3: it's seven o'clock a night, the shrubs and the bushes
- 1:07:01Speaker 3: are cut tight, right role we need to freaking win.
- 1:07:04Speaker 3: We're gonna go and hate the world and kick Maszoo's ass.
- 1:07:06Speaker 3: That could happen to I think this game is completely
- 1:07:09Speaker 3: flipping the coin. I hope Miszoo wins. I hope the
- 1:07:13Speaker 3: Auburn just is a little mentally defeated from their weird
- 1:07:16Speaker 3: ref and bad calls. So I'm gonna pick Missouri win.
- 1:07:20Speaker 3: But again, when when it's light squad in Auburn and
- 1:07:23Speaker 3: it's at that field to night, weird stuff happens with
- 1:07:25Speaker 3: Georgia was going through for the first twenty eight minutes
- 1:07:28Speaker 3: of that game.
- 1:07:30Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, looking back, you know, Auburn just ran
- 1:07:34Speaker 1: the ball on Baylor.
- 1:07:35Speaker 2: I looked.
- 1:07:36Speaker 1: I thought, hey, man, wow, And if they make a
- 1:07:39Speaker 1: couple pass plays a game to their go to guy,
- 1:07:44Speaker 1: they could be a pretty good team. The defense is
- 1:07:46Speaker 1: legit and all that, but it turns out Baylor sucks
- 1:07:50Speaker 1: on defense.
- 1:07:51Speaker 2: You know.
- 1:07:51Speaker 1: So it's like, I don't know, man, there's just something
- 1:07:57Speaker 1: like I'm staying away from this one. But something tells
- 1:08:01Speaker 1: me Auburn's finally going to break through. But is it
- 1:08:03Speaker 1: against the missou who's going to be trying to salvage
- 1:08:07Speaker 1: what they have to salvage. So I'll pick Auburn for
- 1:08:11Speaker 1: the sake of having to pick on the on the
- 1:08:14Speaker 1: on the show, because we don't duck picks.
- 1:08:17Speaker 2: But I'm not confident that not confident at all. Okay,
- 1:08:21Speaker 2: Louisville could they could they cover as the dog?
- 1:08:26Speaker 1: I have them play right now, it's right around fourteen minus,
- 1:08:30Speaker 1: you know, minus fourteen Miami or minus thirteen and a half.
- 1:08:33Speaker 1: I have a plus fourteen and a half already booked,
- 1:08:38Speaker 1: so that game, and also that's Friday night. There's two
- 1:08:40Speaker 1: Friday night games, Nebraska, Minnesota. Minnesota's actually had Nebraska's number,
- 1:08:48Speaker 1: but you know, it feels like, you know, it just
- 1:08:52Speaker 1: feels like they're they're looking a lot better. They can
- 1:08:55Speaker 1: put up a bunch of points. But I think it
- 1:08:58Speaker 1: could be a good game. I'm hoping it obviously is.
- 1:09:01Speaker 1: But then Georgia Tech at Duke. I saw it at
- 1:09:05Speaker 1: three Duke. I've seen it at one and a half.
- 1:09:07Speaker 1: I'm looking at Fox right now. It says minus two
- 1:09:10Speaker 1: and a half. Georgia Tech doesn't have too many acc
- 1:09:14Speaker 1: games that are really gonna test them. Obviously, they got
- 1:09:17Speaker 1: to finish from Georgia. But you know, this is they've
- 1:09:22Speaker 1: been you know, Wake Forest, they barely got by. They're
- 1:09:26Speaker 1: better when they're the dog, and they are the dog
- 1:09:29Speaker 1: here technically.
- 1:09:31Speaker 3: All right, for all three of those, I think that
- 1:09:34Speaker 3: the d NS are gonna scare the ship out of
- 1:09:36Speaker 3: Miller Mohas. That scares me as a Louisville fan. Your
- 1:09:38Speaker 3: defensive ends for Miami have really been good this year,
- 1:09:41Speaker 3: better than not.
- 1:09:42Speaker 2: But sewing it into that bullshit in the air, I'll tell.
- 1:09:44Speaker 3: You when he panics, I think that's gonna get a
- 1:09:46Speaker 3: little scary. Now. Again, I think Jeff Brown is a
- 1:09:49Speaker 3: great mastermind. He's pulled off some upsets. I don't see
- 1:09:51Speaker 3: this one happening though, because that Louisville defense is still
- 1:09:55Speaker 3: not up to par, So going to Miami is gonna
- 1:09:57Speaker 3: be a tricky one. So I do think Miami covers.
- 1:10:02Speaker 3: I also think your Gophers win, so I'll take the
- 1:10:05Speaker 3: Gopher money line Nebraska and the last meet just said,
- 1:10:09Speaker 3: I'm sorry, brain fog uh oh Duke, oh h yeah. Hey,
- 1:10:18Speaker 3: if you're George Tech, your playoff chances are looking really good.
- 1:10:21Speaker 3: And you're right though they do enjoy being the dog.
- 1:10:23Speaker 3: Their coach has a dog as a record, It has
- 1:10:25Speaker 3: a tremendous record. But I think Duke's get a little
- 1:10:29Speaker 3: too much hype this year. Like that that points spread
- 1:10:32Speaker 3: versus Illinois was incredibly low for a game that turned
- 1:10:35Speaker 3: out to be tough in the second half. So again,
- 1:10:37Speaker 3: I think for whatever reason, Vegas enjoys Duke as team,
- 1:10:41Speaker 3: and I'm not saying they're awful, but I think you're
- 1:10:43Speaker 3: against some extra hype again. So I will take Haynes
- 1:10:46Speaker 3: King to gut out another victory and we could, Man,
- 1:10:50Speaker 3: we might have a Georgia Tech Texas Tech opening week game.
- 1:10:54Speaker 3: That'd be That'd be a fun one, Chris, Honestly, two
- 1:10:57Speaker 3: teams we probably don't think about making the playoff, but
- 1:10:58Speaker 3: both have a legit chance. So a Georgia Tech Texas
- 1:11:01Speaker 3: Tech could be a Legitim you talking about I'm sorry.
- 1:11:05Speaker 2: A first round are you're talking about? Yeah?
- 1:11:07Speaker 3: Yeah, okay, a little unexpected, but a fun one. Oh yeah,
- 1:11:11Speaker 3: here's the game. I will bet Cal minus ten and
- 1:11:14Speaker 3: a half against North Carolina. Dude, just s fade Belichick
- 1:11:18Speaker 3: that that team is in disarray. I know Cal' quarterback
- 1:11:23Speaker 3: might have got hurt, but I will take Justin Wilcox
- 1:11:26Speaker 3: in Cal and nine thirty at nine on the West Coast.
- 1:11:29Speaker 3: I will for sure bet Cal first half, second half, whatever,
- 1:11:33Speaker 3: fade the Tarios. I'm a basketball fan, not a football fan,
- 1:11:36Speaker 3: never have been. Caroline is in a tough spot and
- 1:11:39Speaker 3: then going to Cal's never easy. For anyone. Oh that's Friday.
- 1:11:41Speaker 3: Oh that shit, that's Friday night. After your Gophers win,
- 1:11:44Speaker 3: I'll switched over to the Cal Carolina game.
- 1:11:46Speaker 1: Oh that's right, that's a late late one. You think
- 1:11:50Speaker 1: he's going to be up for that? I mean he's
- 1:11:52Speaker 1: getting up there in age. You know, Belichick might not
- 1:11:55Speaker 1: be even awake.
- 1:11:56Speaker 2: At that time.
- 1:11:57Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, his boy. Yeah, it's a twelve twelve thirty
- 1:12:00Speaker 3: night kickoff for the Targos. Is probably all been partying.
- 1:12:03Speaker 3: I yeah, take cow.
- 1:12:07Speaker 2: His girlfriend though, should be up.
- 1:12:10Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:12:10Speaker 2: Yeah, So I like Washington, I got him plus. I
- 1:12:14Speaker 2: see it around five and a half six Michigan favorite.
- 1:12:17Speaker 2: I like Washington plus I got a plus six and
- 1:12:19Speaker 2: a half number. And then also I see it right
- 1:12:23Speaker 2: around a minus nine and a half ten.
- 1:12:26Speaker 1: For Clemson SMU. I think SMU could stay around. I
- 1:12:31Speaker 1: haven't bet it, but that plus sure, I'm eyeballing, like,
- 1:12:35Speaker 1: are we sure Clemson could be the okay team by
- 1:12:38Speaker 1: more than ten points?
- 1:12:39Speaker 2: Because I'm not sure?
- 1:12:41Speaker 3: What what has Clemson done to be over a touchdown
- 1:12:46Speaker 3: favorite versus a respectably good team?
- 1:12:48Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean we know SMU is not as good
- 1:12:51Speaker 2: as last year. They lost talent or whatever, but they're
- 1:12:53Speaker 2: not bums.
- 1:12:54Speaker 3: So no, oh, actually let me check, because so I
- 1:12:59Speaker 3: don't to Franklin being fired. Penn State was minus ten
- 1:13:04Speaker 3: and a half at Iowa. That spread is now Iowa
- 1:13:07Speaker 3: minus student Now oh so if you got Iowa plus
- 1:13:09Speaker 3: ten and a half, you're lucky.
- 1:13:11Speaker 2: Solb Okay our backup quarterback too, because Alar's done for
- 1:13:16Speaker 2: the year.
- 1:13:17Speaker 3: Hey if that, dude, and that's at night, Okay, that's
- 1:13:20Speaker 3: my other auto bet. You got it. Kinnick and Knight.
- 1:13:23Speaker 3: Penn State's got to be in a bid distruct. I
- 1:13:25Speaker 3: know there's that whole win one for the gipper when
- 1:13:27Speaker 3: a coach gets fired. But you know, it's it's been
- 1:13:29Speaker 3: such a weird spot. It is Penn State right for
- 1:13:33Speaker 3: Iowa fan base, so they don't give a sue. Who
- 1:13:35Speaker 3: the course your quarterback is, Like, dude, that is Kinnick
- 1:13:38Speaker 3: and Knight all the way that that's a hard spot
- 1:13:40Speaker 3: to come into for a good team, a team that's
- 1:13:42Speaker 3: lost two games in a row and had a coach
- 1:13:44Speaker 3: fired unexpectedly. Probably like that's for sure, Iowa. I'll take
- 1:13:49Speaker 3: the Iowa night over. Uh call it at hosts in Carolina.
- 1:13:54Speaker 2: Yeah, all right, let's uh, let's close her up.
- 1:13:59Speaker 3: Hey, So last week my co host took San Jose
- 1:14:03Speaker 3: State Wild means offense, which has been not existent for
- 1:14:06Speaker 3: most of the year, just puts on a freaking air
- 1:14:09Speaker 3: raid show. In the fourth quarter. By the way, there
- 1:14:13Speaker 3: was a pick six play when when Santo's eight's quarterback
- 1:14:17Speaker 3: through the ball, it got deflected, it hit alignment's helmet
- 1:14:22Speaker 3: and skyrocketed backwards seven yards to defensive guys hands a
- 1:14:25Speaker 3: run back for a pick six. I've never seen a
- 1:14:27Speaker 3: helmet deflect the ball seven yards backwards to a d line.
- 1:14:30Speaker 3: Got That was some That was some bad luck, all right,
- 1:14:33Speaker 3: So we.
- 1:14:33Speaker 2: Can't get this segment right at the start. You give
- 1:14:37Speaker 2: me the game and then you talk.
- 1:14:39Speaker 3: I just had to. I just had rant about that.
- 1:14:41Speaker 2: You could have done that.
- 1:14:42Speaker 3: It was great.
- 1:14:43Speaker 2: It was actually well done. It just you know, it's
- 1:14:45Speaker 2: it's a we have a we have a we have
- 1:14:48Speaker 2: a format.
- 1:14:49Speaker 3: Dude.
- 1:14:49Speaker 2: When they were up two touchdowns, I was feeling, great.
- 1:14:52Speaker 3: We're going to the mac. We're going to the mac
- 1:14:55Speaker 3: mcint max. Yeah, this is we have a U usual suspect. Unfortunately, Acting,
- 1:15:02Speaker 3: You're back on the show again, baby, yet again. Actron
- 1:15:06Speaker 3: is going to ball State Monthsy Indiana. You've probably heard
- 1:15:10Speaker 3: that name. Okay, at Schumann Stadium, whether it's seventy seven,
- 1:15:15Speaker 3: you can pay eleven dollars. You can go to subway
- 1:15:18Speaker 3: or go to the stadium and get it, get food
- 1:15:20Speaker 3: or watch football game. Maybe that subway there. Accron zips
- 1:15:23Speaker 3: are two and five one and two on the ear
- 1:15:25Speaker 3: in the MAC League. Ball State's two and four one
- 1:15:29Speaker 3: to one in the MAC League. Actron has been the
- 1:15:31Speaker 3: doormat of the MAC for about the past four to
- 1:15:33Speaker 3: five years. So uh, but clearly Vegas does not respect
- 1:15:37Speaker 3: Ball State that much because Ball State's minus one and
- 1:15:39Speaker 3: a half at home versus doormat of the MAC. Chris,
- 1:15:43Speaker 3: are you ready to break down our action of the week?
- 1:15:48Speaker 2: I wish it was a true maction though on a Tuesday.
- 1:15:51Speaker 3: Yeah, hey, that that's coming though, two more weeks. Action
- 1:15:53Speaker 3: is gonna be coming.
- 1:15:54Speaker 1: And we're now in that stretch you know where there's
- 1:15:58Speaker 1: football on every night because you know tomorrow night there's
- 1:16:01Speaker 1: football is not action, but there's football. Now what is
- 1:16:07Speaker 1: it like sixty some odd days or whatever?
- 1:16:09Speaker 2: Straight?
- 1:16:10Speaker 3: Oh hell yeah, beautiful, Yah, we're in that.
- 1:16:12Speaker 2: We just started that all kay, So Ball State Akron
- 1:16:18Speaker 2: Lebron does have eligibility, so you gotta leave that door
- 1:16:23Speaker 2: open for him. But neither of them, I mean, I'm
- 1:16:27Speaker 2: gonna round up.
- 1:16:28Speaker 1: But Akron on offense averaging seventeen points, ball State averaging fourteen.
- 1:16:33Speaker 2: So this this line's up.
- 1:16:35Speaker 1: And when you're giving up thirty one and a half
- 1:16:38Speaker 1: like ball State and twenty nine Akron, that's not good.
- 1:16:42Speaker 1: And you know whoever they they both rush the ball
- 1:16:45Speaker 1: about the same one thirty one give or take a game,
- 1:16:49Speaker 1: which is okay, And they're both giving up. Dude, Akron
- 1:16:52Speaker 1: is giving up one eighty five and ball State's giving
- 1:16:55Speaker 1: up one seventy five a game on the round.
- 1:16:59Speaker 2: So they are ever to run them, it might they
- 1:17:02Speaker 2: might go for two hundred, both of them on the ground.
- 1:17:07Speaker 2: Ball State the Cardinals.
- 1:17:08Speaker 1: According to Fox Facts, of the Cardinals five touchdowns this
- 1:17:13Speaker 1: is all D one are the fewest.
- 1:17:16Speaker 2: In the whole D one.
- 1:17:19Speaker 1: Uh, they only have one thoy nineteen yards. It's the
- 1:17:22Speaker 1: fewest in the D one. I'm not used to saying
- 1:17:25Speaker 1: D one anymore. But that's pretty crazy for ball State.
- 1:17:29Speaker 2: Yeah, and their favorite I know, but Tavin Curry did
- 1:17:38Speaker 2: not play against Ohio. I don't know.
- 1:17:42Speaker 1: Let's see what Curry's got for the Okay, they're running.
- 1:17:45Speaker 1: They have another guy, so I don't know why they
- 1:17:47Speaker 1: Maybe they have a two because they have a guy
- 1:17:50Speaker 1: who is five to eleven.
- 1:17:51Speaker 2: Now, so if you look at it, they haven't played
- 1:17:54Speaker 2: a whole lot. They played in twenty twenty one ball
- 1:17:58Speaker 2: State one five and then they played in seventeen twenty
- 1:18:01Speaker 2: seventeen and Akron thirty one to three. So it's been
- 1:18:05Speaker 2: a while since they played. You know, I would say
- 1:18:11Speaker 2: beating Ohio, you know, went in twenty to fourteen, is huge.
- 1:18:15Speaker 2: But then they they faced Western Michigan and got beat
- 1:18:19Speaker 2: forty two to zero, turn right around and just got
- 1:18:23Speaker 2: their ass whooped.
- 1:18:26Speaker 1: So that's not positive. Now they both teams. Let me
- 1:18:30Speaker 1: see here. So they played Auburn, they got beat forty
- 1:18:35Speaker 1: two to thirty. Got it, Akron face anybody tough in
- 1:18:39Speaker 1: the non conference. Let me check really quick. Sorry for
- 1:18:44Speaker 1: the delay, but I like to see who they played.
- 1:18:47Speaker 2: All that does fit.
- 1:18:50Speaker 3: Wyoming ten zero loss, Nebraska sixty.
- 1:18:53Speaker 2: Eight zero dead played Nebraska and.
- 1:18:55Speaker 3: They lost to Trent Dilford thirty. Yeah.
- 1:18:59Speaker 1: I mean the fact that they they at least put
- 1:19:04Speaker 1: three points up, whereas they got skunked against the power team.
- 1:19:09Speaker 2: And then that last sentence, say that again about uh
- 1:19:13Speaker 2: Trent Dilford.
- 1:19:14Speaker 3: H UA B and formerly head coach Trent dilferd. They
- 1:19:19Speaker 3: lost at U A B one. God, they lost thirty
- 1:19:21Speaker 3: one to eight, and they oh, they.
- 1:19:24Speaker 2: Were eleven and a half. They were an underdog, eleven
- 1:19:27Speaker 2: and a half point under. Okay, So here's the thing
- 1:19:31Speaker 2: that Auburn game ball steak covered. Okay, they were a
- 1:19:36Speaker 2: plus forty two and a half underdog and they covered, dude,
- 1:19:38Speaker 2: forty two to three. They covered bro Okay.
- 1:19:41Speaker 1: So this is all lining up, dude, this is all
- 1:19:44Speaker 1: lining up. I'm going with the home squad. I understand
- 1:19:48Speaker 1: what Vegas is whether the Cardinals ball steak Cardinals, they're
- 1:19:53Speaker 1: trying to stay out the last place in the MAC.
- 1:19:57Speaker 2: I think they're gonna be able to do it. I
- 1:19:58Speaker 2: got the home team ball state, Sorry Lebron.
- 1:20:03Speaker 3: All right for the alumni battle, this is a little scary,
- 1:20:08Speaker 3: I do you know event. Nicole Brown is an actress.
- 1:20:12Speaker 3: She was on that kind of cult comedy community. Jason
- 1:20:17Speaker 3: Taylor was a Miami Dolphins tight end or a defensive
- 1:20:21Speaker 3: end who was obviously a great football player. Charlie Frye
- 1:20:25Speaker 3: was Raiders quarterback. And that's about all I got for Akron.
- 1:20:31Speaker 3: I had to type in university and I said Akron
- 1:20:34Speaker 3: famous sum Night. They put Lebron there. Lebron didn't go
- 1:20:37Speaker 3: to college, So that's three they offered. Ball State starts
- 1:20:43Speaker 3: off with David Letterman, obviously a very popular person, the
- 1:20:47Speaker 3: basketball player Bonzi Wells, who was kind of just I mean,
- 1:20:51Speaker 3: you know, just a good a good, a good vet
- 1:20:54Speaker 3: Brady Hoak, a former Michigan coach, and that that's where
- 1:21:00Speaker 3: that one really cuts off. So this is definitely kind
- 1:21:03Speaker 3: of the most oppressing I've been having a lot of
- 1:21:05Speaker 3: people I enjoy is like fans or music or whatever.
- 1:21:08Speaker 3: This one I really got.
- 1:21:14Speaker 2: That. But that's your choice.
- 1:21:16Speaker 3: Yeah, I do think David Letterman takes the cake, because yeah, yeah,
- 1:21:20Speaker 3: David Letterman for the win. So I'm taking a ball
- 1:21:24Speaker 3: State for the w and my co host has taken
- 1:21:27Speaker 3: backroam zips correct no runs, All right, hey, that.
- 1:21:37Speaker 2: Are you writing this ship down or anything. I can't
- 1:21:39Speaker 2: even get you to remember to pick a second later.
- 1:21:42Speaker 3: We're three and four, We're gonna be four and four.
- 1:21:45Speaker 3: We're going all, oh, yeah you said and no sorry, Lebron. Okay,
- 1:21:48Speaker 3: the ball State boy is gonna walk into the ackron Sam.
- 1:21:51Speaker 3: We're there. We're good, We're good, We're good.
- 1:21:53Speaker 1: Everything over under, Not that you're keeping track of that anymore,
- 1:21:56Speaker 1: but what's the over.
- 1:21:57Speaker 3: Under over under is at.
- 1:22:01Speaker 1: Neither of them can score, but neither of them can
- 1:22:03Speaker 1: stop anything. Or is it like Big ten Iowa Minnesota
- 1:22:10Speaker 1: from a couple.
- 1:22:11Speaker 4: Of years ago forty two and a half, Oh, forty
- 1:22:15Speaker 4: two and a half, I'm gonna I'm gonna go over God,
- 1:22:23Speaker 4: that's tough because they're garbage on defense.
- 1:22:27Speaker 3: So ball State alumni win. Ball State's gonna win by
- 1:22:31Speaker 3: one and a half or more, and they're gonna score
- 1:22:33Speaker 3: some points. On that note, Hey, if if you need
- 1:22:37Speaker 3: a break from SEC football, turn on ball State actor
- 1:22:40Speaker 3: on ESPN Plus. If Bama doesn't do it for you, Hey,
- 1:22:47Speaker 3: the boys are out. Have a good night. Piece
