- 0:00Speaker 1: You're listening to KFI AM six forty the Bill Handles
- 0:04Speaker 1: Show on demand on the iHeartRadio app and now Handle
- 0:14Speaker 1: on the news. Ladies and gentlemen, here's not Bill Handle.
- 0:20Speaker 2: Oh boy. KFI AM six forty live everywhere on the
- 0:24Speaker 2: iHeartRadio app. Good Friday morning, Neil Sevader in the Morning
- 0:28Speaker 2: Crew with you. Handle is out today and Amy King
- 0:31Speaker 2: is out today. Heather Brooker filling in. Hello, good Morgan.
- 0:36Speaker 3: How lovely that we started the week together and we
- 0:39Speaker 3: are finishing the week together.
- 0:41Speaker 2: They can't push us down.
- 0:42Speaker 3: You can't keep the B team down.
- 0:46Speaker 2: Are all. We've moved up to the B team. That's great.
- 0:49Speaker 3: No, no longer the D team.
- 0:50Speaker 2: Wow, nice to see you.
- 0:53Speaker 3: You too.
- 0:53Speaker 2: Tired of them trying to you know, the man trying
- 0:56Speaker 2: to keep us down. We pushed through.
- 0:57Speaker 3: That's right.
- 0:59Speaker 2: God only knows what's going on with Handle. We know
- 1:01Speaker 2: that Amy King was coughing up what a pro you
- 1:06Speaker 2: never heard it on the air, unlike Handle, but that
- 1:10Speaker 2: she you know, has the consumption or something. Apparently she
- 1:14Speaker 2: was coughing all over everything, starting to tell people she'll
- 1:18Speaker 2: be there, huckleberry, things like that. That seemed weird.
- 1:22Speaker 3: She she she started when you start to sound like
- 1:25Speaker 3: you and smoking for forty years, you know.
- 1:27Speaker 2: Yeah, Brenda Vacaro on a tampon commercial from the eighties.
- 1:31Speaker 2: What you don't remember that reference? Huh? Yeah, I'd like
- 1:35Speaker 2: to talk to you about.
- 1:36Speaker 3: Oh the wait, the tampon commercial or the throat cancer commercial.
- 1:41Speaker 2: No, I'm not gonna mock a throat cancer commercial for
- 1:45Speaker 2: Pete's sake.
- 1:46Speaker 3: She wick is maybe Bill's rubbed off.
- 1:50Speaker 2: No, he does, unfortunately. But yeah, it was an old
- 1:56Speaker 2: tampon commercial with Brenda Vcaro and she just had this
- 1:59Speaker 2: high brin the a girl for Tampex when I was
- 2:03Speaker 2: a kid, and that's what I remember is that.
- 2:07Speaker 3: Tax makes you smoke.
- 2:08Speaker 2: It's a weird pull. It's not a very niche Rex
- 2:12Speaker 2: the Wonder Horse, But I do what I can with
- 2:14Speaker 2: my weird references like handle. It's nice to have you here.
- 2:19Speaker 2: I'm sure we'll get into the fact that you've got
- 2:21Speaker 2: some stand up coming up. We'll push people your way
- 2:25Speaker 2: for a night of good times and laughter. Who doesn't
- 2:29Speaker 2: love comedy?
- 2:31Speaker 3: Serial killing?
- 2:34Speaker 2: It's horrible people. Horrible people don't like baby haters. There
- 2:40Speaker 2: there's something about the smell and vibe and everything about
- 2:46Speaker 2: a comedy club that I dig.
- 2:48Speaker 3: Totally agree, you know. And it's also just the sort
- 2:52Speaker 3: of communal nature that you're all just gonna forget about
- 2:55Speaker 3: the worries of the world for a minute and see
- 2:57Speaker 3: if somebody can make you laugh and just be you know,
- 3:01Speaker 3: just have fun.
- 3:02Speaker 2: Just unless you hang out in the green room some
- 3:04Speaker 2: of the most depressing people I've ever heard.
- 3:07Speaker 3: It's also like the newsroom, very much like, very much
- 3:10Speaker 3: like they can't find newsroom.
- 3:13Speaker 2: It's funny because I used to I have friends that
- 3:16Speaker 2: are comics, and I used to go constantly to clubs
- 3:20Speaker 2: all the time, and I was in the green rooms
- 3:22Speaker 2: and met some phenomenal comics. And once they found out
- 3:28Speaker 2: that I was a theologian and stuff and what I
- 3:30Speaker 2: do on the radio working on the Jesus Show, they'd
- 3:34Speaker 2: want to ask me theology questions and it would get deep.
- 3:38Speaker 2: It would get deep. Yeah, but some brilliant, big name
- 3:42Speaker 2: comics would just corner me and ask questions, and phenomenal people,
- 3:48Speaker 2: incredibly smart.
- 3:50Speaker 3: Comics in general are very smart people.
- 3:53Speaker 2: You have to that's how you We were thrilled when
- 3:58Speaker 2: we found out that our nine year old boy had
- 4:00Speaker 2: a sense of humor. Oh that's the best thing. I
- 4:03Speaker 2: was just like, this is going to be great because
- 4:04Speaker 2: your parents are weird. It's going to be helpful all
- 4:07Speaker 2: the way around. Well, nice to see you. You too,
- 4:11Speaker 2: And of course producer Ann, who is in the middle
- 4:16Speaker 2: of a pivot because all this handle stuff went down
- 4:21Speaker 2: while she was asleep.
- 4:23Speaker 3: Yeah, but it's all good. I'm excited to work with you.
- 4:26Speaker 2: Look at us, pals. You don't have any weirdness. And
- 4:31Speaker 2: Cono is here, but is Jesse.
- 4:34Speaker 3: That's uh, yeah, this is Jesse.
- 4:36Speaker 2: Cono's behind me or he's behind all of us. He's like, uh,
- 4:42Speaker 2: he's like the monkey on your back.
- 4:44Speaker 3: Man, don't look now, there's a monket o your.
- 4:49Speaker 2: Yeah, only he's a little more furry, just as back.
- 4:54Speaker 2: The same thing too, it's back. How dare you only
- 4:59Speaker 2: I joke about it? Is protective of Codo. I only joke,
- 5:03Speaker 2: you know, I was telling him. It's like, uh, I said, Cono,
- 5:06Speaker 2: you know, I only I only joke. It's like calling
- 5:09Speaker 2: someone ugly. That's not ugly. You only joke about those
- 5:11Speaker 2: things because they're not true. I mean, you joke about
- 5:15Speaker 2: me being fat and he goes, yeah, So I don't know.
- 5:22Speaker 2: It's seemed like maybe it wasn't reciprocal. And Will, I
- 5:27Speaker 2: don't need to see you to know you're there, my friend.
- 5:29Speaker 1: I'm you're apparently everyone else got invited to the private
- 5:33Speaker 1: Zoom the private Neil Zoom room.
- 5:37Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean I'm in the Handle room by myself.
- 5:39Speaker 3: You're on that email.
- 5:40Speaker 2: Oh you are on that email? Oh it was an email.
- 5:43Speaker 3: I just don't think Will knows how to do that.
- 5:45Speaker 2: What do you think I send it by carry? I
- 5:47Speaker 2: thought it was on teams email. Yeah, you're the only
- 5:51Speaker 2: person that hits me up on teams.
- 5:53Speaker 3: Me too, I'm almost Will and management.
- 5:56Speaker 2: Oh no, wonder you ignore me?
- 5:58Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 5:59Speaker 2: I don't or you you ask me that for a
- 6:02Speaker 2: pot a pan? Hey, Neil, I need advice and a pan,
- 6:06Speaker 2: and I'm on it. That's what the folky porter does.
- 6:09Speaker 2: We'll figure this zoom thing out. I thought you just
- 6:11Speaker 2: left me out. WHOA, I'm not handled. I'm not handled.
- 6:18Speaker 2: I keep trying to tell everybody that I don't you
- 6:21Speaker 2: know what to go up and down in my house.
- 6:25Speaker 2: I have to make the noise of an elevator because
- 6:28Speaker 2: I don't have one.
- 6:29Speaker 3: No is handle It is in his house right.
- 6:33Speaker 2: Yes, And it's more like a bank tube but yeah,
- 6:39Speaker 2: but I also have a one story so it's not
- 6:41Speaker 2: a big deal.
- 6:42Speaker 3: Is he gonna get one of those chairs that you
- 6:44Speaker 3: sit in that glide up the stairwell?
- 6:47Speaker 2: You would never, You would never. I want one, and
- 6:50Speaker 2: again we're single floor, but.
- 6:54Speaker 3: You just want one, maybe just to move around the house.
- 6:56Speaker 2: Maybe to go out back. I don't know. It looks
- 6:59Speaker 2: neat all. Right, let's get into not handle in the
- 7:03Speaker 2: news lead story money. All right, we'll get into this
- 7:10Speaker 2: story a little bit more in the seven o'clock hour.
- 7:13Speaker 2: But you've got federal authorities arresting a special operations soldier
- 7:17Speaker 2: why he was involved in the capture of Venezuelan President
- 7:22Speaker 2: Nicholas Maduro. That's not what he's you know, being looked
- 7:28Speaker 2: at and investigated for. But he pocketed more than four
- 7:31Speaker 2: hundred thousand dollars by betting, basically betting on his removal
- 7:38Speaker 2: from office. So the Justice Department says that this federal
- 7:43Speaker 2: investigation of Gannon Ken van Dyke, he put thirty three
- 7:48Speaker 2: thousand dollars on the prediction market what do they call
- 7:52Speaker 2: that poly market? Just days before President Donald Trump announced
- 7:56Speaker 2: Maduro's capture, So inside trading basically, yeah, I.
- 8:01Speaker 3: Was gonna say, so, what are they saying he knew
- 8:03Speaker 3: about it in advance.
- 8:05Speaker 2: Well, he probably had already captured him because he was
- 8:10Speaker 2: the guy, and it just hadn't been announced yet, so
- 8:12Speaker 2: that he put money down and then reaped the benefit.
- 8:18Speaker 2: And part of me is like, good for you, man.
- 8:20Speaker 2: They don't pay you enough for what you do, And
- 8:22Speaker 2: the other part is like, eh, I don't know, we'll
- 8:26Speaker 2: talk about that more.
- 8:27Speaker 3: He probably told people that was their mistake. He probably
- 8:29Speaker 3: should have just kept it to himself. But I bet
- 8:31Speaker 3: he was bragging about it. And that's why I.
- 8:33Speaker 2: Don't That's always the case, by the way, that is
- 8:35Speaker 2: always the case every single time people can't keep their
- 8:39Speaker 2: mouth shut. The most crimes are solved that way. You know,
- 8:44Speaker 2: people just end up telling somebody else. All right.
- 8:48Speaker 3: Ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon will be extended by another
- 8:51Speaker 3: three weeks. The President Trump said that he is They
- 8:55Speaker 3: just hosted the Israelian Lebanese ambassadors in the Oval Office yesterday.
- 9:00Speaker 3: The US wants to extend the Lebanon ceasefire for a
- 9:03Speaker 3: couple of reasons, to advance direct Israel Lebanon peace talks
- 9:07Speaker 3: and to prevent renewed fighting.
- 9:11Speaker 2: Handle's been saying that was coming. I look at this
- 9:15Speaker 2: and I said, it's a miracle anybody's talking when it
- 9:18Speaker 2: comes to peace in the Middle East of any kind. Yeah,
- 9:22Speaker 2: So I don't expect it to be a turnkey situation.
- 9:25Speaker 2: I don't think anybody should. So Trump has spoken out
- 9:28Speaker 2: multiple times about what we're experiencing here, some more than others,
- 9:33Speaker 2: obviously from the fires over a year ago. And he
- 9:39Speaker 2: had said that, you know, it's taking too long and
- 9:42Speaker 2: all of these things. Well, it looks like Trump spoke
- 9:44Speaker 2: for about an hour and a half on Wednesday with
- 9:48Speaker 2: Catherine Barger. I like that Catherine Barger supervisor Katherine Barker,
- 9:54Speaker 2: and Los Angeles Mayor Karen bass And appeared very receptive
- 10:00Speaker 2: to their appeal for sixteen billion in federal funding for
- 10:03Speaker 2: the city in county. We know that Trump does not
- 10:06Speaker 2: like California, because California, at least good chunks of it,
- 10:10Speaker 2: does not like him, and so he's been pretty quick,
- 10:16Speaker 2: or let's say, pretty slow with the purse strings when
- 10:19Speaker 2: it comes to anything here in California, especially Los Angeles.
- 10:24Speaker 2: But good on him. This is very much needed. We'll
- 10:28Speaker 2: see how it rolls out. But he understands the Los
- 10:31Speaker 2: Angeles needs not a handout, but a hand up in
- 10:35Speaker 2: this particular situation.
- 10:38Speaker 3: Meta is laying off eight thousand employees, that's about ten
- 10:42Speaker 3: percent of its staff. They say they are going to
- 10:45Speaker 3: be focusing on article intelligence and experts who are experts
- 10:51Speaker 3: in artificial intelligence, high salaries performers in that area. This
- 10:56Speaker 3: comes a week after Snap laid off one thousand employees,
- 10:59Speaker 3: citing it's own push to integrate AI. Amazon also, as
- 11:03Speaker 3: we talked about on wake Up Call today, laid off
- 11:05Speaker 3: about sixteen thousand jobs earlier this year to reduce bureaucracy.
- 11:10Speaker 3: Just massive layoffs. Also Microsoft, Microsoft announced a voluntary buyout
- 11:15Speaker 3: program for seven percent of its workforce. So it's a
- 11:18Speaker 3: really tough time right now to be in tech. Artificial
- 11:22Speaker 3: intelligence is really doing what we all thought it would do,
- 11:26Speaker 3: which is take over some jobs.
- 11:30Speaker 2: Not here, Heather, we won iHeartRadio one hundred scar human
- 11:37Speaker 2: guaranteed human human max headroom. It's happening, the brooker. Okay,
- 11:45Speaker 2: I know, one hundred percent human. Yeah, that's you know.
- 11:51Speaker 2: We're and we have skipped the trades. Sadly, we have
- 11:54Speaker 2: moved out of the trades. Everybody started going to college
- 11:57Speaker 2: because that's what you're supposed to do. And I have
- 11:59Speaker 2: no problem with that obviously, but it's not the only thing.
- 12:02Speaker 2: And now we're gonna have to have a switch to
- 12:04Speaker 2: hands on things that can't be done by the robits.
- 12:09Speaker 3: So yeah, my daughter is thinking about like college already,
- 12:13Speaker 3: and she's like got some ideas in mind, and I
- 12:15Speaker 3: keep telling her do something that will be around no
- 12:19Speaker 3: matter if if Terminator happens in real life and AI
- 12:25Speaker 3: takes over. Yeah, be a welder. I don't know. We
- 12:28Speaker 3: all need we all need hands on jobs.
- 12:31Speaker 2: Buggy whips and well, didn't you have a female welder?
- 12:36Speaker 2: A guy called in about his female welding wife.
- 12:39Speaker 3: Yes, that's right.
- 12:40Speaker 2: He was thankful for her.
- 12:42Speaker 3: He said that she was thankful for him.
- 12:45Speaker 2: Is that how it went down? Yeah, it's something i'd.
- 12:48Speaker 3: Say, yeah, right or handle let'ld say yeah. The question
- 12:52Speaker 3: was what's your fandom, Like what are you a big
- 12:55Speaker 3: fan of and he said, my wife is a fan
- 12:58Speaker 3: of me.
- 13:01Speaker 2: Interesting, take wow, take my wife. Yeah that's called fans
- 13:07Speaker 2: plaining Alrighty Italian sports officials say four time champion Italy
- 13:14Speaker 2: is not interested in replacing Iran in the upcoming World Cup.
- 13:18Speaker 2: So I guess suggestions going back and forth to that
- 13:21Speaker 2: effect by the Trump administration. A particular official there Iran
- 13:26Speaker 2: is not withdrawn from what I know, Do we as
- 13:30Speaker 2: that changed or anything not that I know of.
- 13:32Speaker 3: Okay, So, uh, they're planning to play here.
- 13:35Speaker 2: Right, yeah and there despite what's going on with the
- 13:39Speaker 2: war in the Middle East. So we shall see how
- 13:42Speaker 2: that goes down. But at this point still as is.
- 13:48Speaker 3: So Yeah, this local story just keeps getting more and
- 13:52Speaker 3: more terrifying and horrific as the details come out with
- 13:57Speaker 3: that singer David, he was like a TI Talk singer
- 14:01Speaker 3: and performer, David his cell phone. We have now learned
- 14:06Speaker 3: Caine contained a significant amount of child pornography. The LA
- 14:13Speaker 3: assistant Da Beth Silverman, she said during the corporceeding yesterday
- 14:20Speaker 3: that they found a ton of child porn. Now, David,
- 14:25Speaker 3: as you may or may not know, he is accused
- 14:28Speaker 3: of murdering fourteen year old Celeste Revas Hernandez. She was
- 14:31Speaker 3: found her dismembered body was found in the trunk of
- 14:35Speaker 3: his tesla.
- 14:37Speaker 2: Yeah, and they're saying that the whole the motive might
- 14:40Speaker 2: have been that he had sex with her or she
- 14:44Speaker 2: was privy to seeing certain deplorablacks and said that she
- 14:51Speaker 2: would tell something like that. So a horrible story all
- 14:55Speaker 2: the way around, just disgusting if he did it, I
- 15:01Speaker 2: hope he gets everything he deserves. Who of course, the
- 15:06Speaker 2: World Health Organization more than one hundred million vaccine doses
- 15:13Speaker 2: have been delivered to eighteen zero point three million children
- 15:18Speaker 2: worldwide since twenty twenty three, so that's under a global
- 15:23Speaker 2: dive to reverse the pandemic related declines in childhood immunizations.
- 15:28Speaker 2: So this is something that we battle here because we
- 15:31Speaker 2: have different frames, you know, different schools of thought. One's
- 15:37Speaker 2: completely batcrap and then one is based on science. So
- 15:41Speaker 2: we're kind of wrestling with those things here. It was
- 15:46Speaker 2: it's scary. Now your daughter is what thirteen or fourteen?
- 15:50Speaker 2: Thirteen thirteen? My boy's nine. So during the pandemic, when
- 15:58Speaker 2: the vaccine came out, you know, that's a lot to
- 16:02Speaker 2: think about as a parent. But of course we did it.
- 16:08Speaker 2: And there's a certain amount of trust you have to
- 16:11Speaker 2: give in certain systems in life. And it's not that
- 16:15Speaker 2: everybody's going to come out clean. We know that about
- 16:17Speaker 2: any medication or certain foods for that matter. People can
- 16:21Speaker 2: respond to differently. But I remember going talking that over
- 16:25Speaker 2: with my wife and going through the pros and cons
- 16:28Speaker 2: and everything that we could know as lay people, and
- 16:32Speaker 2: you make that decision. And now we're seeing the rise
- 16:35Speaker 2: of all kinds of once muted, Yeah, muted and squelched
- 16:43Speaker 2: and all of that. All right, let's try and squeeze
- 16:45Speaker 2: one one more, just because it keeps us on track.
- 16:48Speaker 3: Okay, more than two hundred thousand pairs of heated socks
- 16:52Speaker 3: sold at Costco are being recalled where's Bill handle? When
- 16:55Speaker 3: we know for this story, I have those these recalls
- 17:00Speaker 3: for thirty two degree heated socks because apparently they get
- 17:04Speaker 3: a little too hot, causing hazard and like injuries and
- 17:08Speaker 3: burns when the user is performing high sense or high
- 17:12Speaker 3: intensity activities rather too.
- 17:16Speaker 2: I recall them. Yeah, just rebrandom is kindling or fire starters.
- 17:20Speaker 3: Or fire start of socks hot suck.
- 17:23Speaker 2: So yeah, maybe that's what handles out check what sucks
- 17:26Speaker 2: that Burbank home invasion, murder, the stabbing. How crazy is
- 17:30Speaker 2: that we've been talking about it. Burbank is gorgeous, obviously,
- 17:35Speaker 2: It's where our studio is. There's so many lovely parts.
- 17:40Speaker 2: We actually, my wife and I actually thought about moving
- 17:43Speaker 2: there when we were looking for houses because it's just
- 17:46Speaker 2: it's a really neat community, great police department and everything
- 17:53Speaker 2: over there, so it's rare to hear these stories. You
- 17:56Speaker 2: have this particular gruesome murder, an attempted murder a mother
- 18:02Speaker 2: and daughter in Burbank between three am and six am
- 18:06Speaker 2: on April twenty. It's just four or five days ago.
- 18:10Speaker 2: Sergio Meza Frere. He broke into the home of these
- 18:18Speaker 2: women while the victims one sixty nine and the other
- 18:21Speaker 2: twenty five. While the victims were sleeping, He entered one
- 18:24Speaker 2: of the victim's bedrooms repeatedly stabbed both women. That's what
- 18:30Speaker 2: prosecutors are alleging, of course, and they don't think that
- 18:35Speaker 2: it's random.
- 18:38Speaker 3: Well, what's interesting here is that it says the daughter
- 18:42Speaker 3: is a mental health advocate. That's how they described her.
- 18:46Speaker 3: And it made me wonder if maybe I'm totally conjecturing here,
- 18:50Speaker 3: but maybe there's some connection there that you know, she
- 18:54Speaker 3: was working with someone with mental health challenges. I don't know.
- 18:57Speaker 3: I'm sure more details you do.
- 18:59Speaker 2: Have to want, and that's not a bad hypothesis when
- 19:03Speaker 2: you think about it, and I'm sure the first tip
- 19:05Speaker 2: off is nothing stolen, or they probably look at you
- 19:09Speaker 2: know the way things went down, but what a horrific
- 19:13Speaker 2: way to go. These are beloved individuals in Burbank and
- 19:18Speaker 2: still I remember when the story came out, reading through
- 19:22Speaker 2: it online and in social media to see a lot
- 19:25Speaker 2: of the responses, obviously being local here, a lot of
- 19:29Speaker 2: the responses being you know, I knew her, she was
- 19:32Speaker 2: my teacher at one point, or this is just horrific.
- 19:37Speaker 3: All right. A hiker in San Bernino County found remains
- 19:43Speaker 3: of a human skull.
- 19:44Speaker 2: Sure they did.
- 19:47Speaker 3: The explorer was We're twenty nine palms when it happened,
- 19:52Speaker 3: and this was on Wednesday. After the discovery, the hiker
- 19:56Speaker 3: placed an emergency call and deputies came out and for requested.
- 20:01Speaker 3: They requested aid from homicide detectives, and uh yeah, it
- 20:05Speaker 3: turns out it was a skull that was found on
- 20:08Speaker 3: the trail. DNA gathered from the scene is also being tested.
- 20:13Speaker 2: So just a curiosity, you guys, you go going on
- 20:17Speaker 2: a hike somewhere, come across the human skull, call the cops,
- 20:21Speaker 2: or take it home and keep it.
- 20:23Speaker 3: I mean, I'm not Indiana Jones or anything. I'm not
- 20:26Speaker 3: trying to keep skulls around.
- 20:28Speaker 2: My own logs in a museum.
- 20:30Speaker 3: I'm not trying to keep skulls. I don't think I
- 20:33Speaker 3: would probably. I mean, if it was just sitting there,
- 20:37Speaker 3: like out in the open, like a skull like you
- 20:40Speaker 3: see in the movies, I'd be like huh and then
- 20:44Speaker 3: keep walking. I don't know that I would stop and
- 20:46Speaker 3: call the police and start investigating. I don't know.
- 20:51Speaker 2: Uh, Heather, see my face?
- 20:52Speaker 3: Yeah, I see your face.
- 20:56Speaker 2: Wasn't really an honest question, but I'm fascinating by your answer.
- 21:02Speaker 3: I mean, first of all, how long is the hike?
- 21:05Speaker 3: Am I halfway through? Did I just sorry? Why does
- 21:10Speaker 3: it look like a human skull or does it look
- 21:12Speaker 3: like a coyote? School? Because honestly, I don't know the difference.
- 21:15Speaker 3: I'm not a scientist.
- 21:17Speaker 2: Listen, you ever enjoyed yourself some Halloween time? Did you
- 21:22Speaker 2: know the difference between a human skull and a coyote skull?
- 21:26Speaker 3: For the love god, Halloween, we do like disneyfied Halloween
- 21:31Speaker 3: with a little like Casper the Ghost And.
- 21:33Speaker 2: Okay, how about you know silly Symphony of the Dancing Skeletons.
- 21:40Speaker 2: How about that you did? That was Disney? You got right?
- 21:42Speaker 2: That was Disney.
- 21:43Speaker 3: So it's I mean I'm not an expert.
- 21:45Speaker 2: Oh, Neil, get a great question. I would walk by
- 21:48Speaker 2: that bitch and keep on moving. Not my problem, not
- 21:52Speaker 2: my skull, dot my shircus.
- 21:54Speaker 3: I'm gonna go Hi, am I sweating and winded from
- 21:57Speaker 3: the hike. I'm gonna keep going so you can get
- 22:00Speaker 3: the hike over with. Then I might call somebody, but
- 22:03Speaker 3: I'm not going to stop and investigate, like I'm on
- 22:06Speaker 3: CSI or something. Okay, wow, good to know.
- 22:11Speaker 2: Good to keep on moving. Not our problem, honey, not
- 22:13Speaker 2: our problem.
- 22:14Speaker 3: I've got photos to take. We got to catch that
- 22:18Speaker 3: up light.
- 22:21Speaker 2: Oh look at oh Hollywood sign all right. Federal court
- 22:25Speaker 2: has declined to rehear a appeal of that dive boat captain.
- 22:30Speaker 2: Remember this. This was back on Labor Day weekend in
- 22:33Speaker 2: twenty nineteen. Channel Islands horrific. The boat caught fire, people
- 22:38Speaker 2: couldn't get out, and Captain Jerry Boylan seventy two, was
- 22:44Speaker 2: sentenced in May of twenty twenty four to four years
- 22:47Speaker 2: in federal prison for his role in what is referred
- 22:50Speaker 2: to as the deadliest maritime disaster in modern California history.
- 22:55Speaker 2: Aboard the Conception dive boat. There horrible story in the
- 22:59Speaker 2: way it went down, but Boilin has been free this
- 23:05Speaker 2: whole time, pending the appeal. His latest court loss means
- 23:09Speaker 2: he should be soon headed to prison. Just horrific all
- 23:14Speaker 2: the way around. The life's ended, life's ruined.
- 23:19Speaker 3: All right, are you going to be doing, by the
- 23:21Speaker 3: way still to ask Neil anything?
- 23:24Speaker 2: You know? No, because I set it up for Handle.
- 23:28Speaker 2: We didn't know until late. But you know what I'm
- 23:30Speaker 2: going to do.
- 23:31Speaker 3: We answer as Handle.
- 23:33Speaker 2: You know, I thought about doing that, but you know what,
- 23:35Speaker 2: I think I'll take it to ask each of the
- 23:38Speaker 2: each of the crew some questions.
- 23:39Speaker 3: Yeah, who's about you guys?
- 23:41Speaker 2: And or will or will you guys? Yeah, this sounds
- 23:45Speaker 2: like a horrible idea. Okay, well I didn't ask you yet.
- 23:50Speaker 2: You just stand down, boy. Alrighty, let's get back to
- 23:55Speaker 2: not Handle on the news.
- 23:56Speaker 3: So, Republican chair of the House Oversight Committee some members
- 24:01Speaker 3: would support a presidential pardon for Galaine Maxwell in exchange
- 24:06Speaker 3: for her help with the committee's investigation on Jeffrey Epstein,
- 24:10Speaker 3: but he says most of them won't admit it. It's
- 24:14Speaker 3: a twenty six Republican committee. Twenty six member Republican committee,
- 24:20Speaker 3: and Comer says he opposed a pardon himself, because he thinks,
- 24:25Speaker 3: other than Epstein, she was the worst person in the
- 24:27Speaker 3: whole investigation. But he says the committee is split on
- 24:33Speaker 3: the issue, although no one has come forward to say
- 24:37Speaker 3: that they would support a pardon for her in exchange
- 24:40Speaker 3: for information he says otherwise.
- 24:43Speaker 2: Yeah, a tough That's a tough one in the emotional sense,
- 24:47Speaker 2: because everybody wants that information to come out, sure, and
- 24:53Speaker 2: it's going to be dark and dirty, and not just
- 24:55Speaker 2: the people that you think. I think there's guys.
- 24:57Speaker 3: If she's honest and truthful, and how much can you
- 25:00Speaker 3: actually trust her?
- 25:01Speaker 2: You know, Yeah, but you're gonna have to assume there's
- 25:04Speaker 2: some backup in the documents. There's a butt ton of documents,
- 25:08Speaker 2: all right. Bed Bath and Beyond a returning in the
- 25:12Speaker 2: brick and mortar, apparently to California, And I'm not mad
- 25:16Speaker 2: about that. I used to love spending time to in
- 25:20Speaker 2: Bed Bath and Beyond until the near the end there
- 25:22Speaker 2: where it got kind of scrappy, like it was like
- 25:27Speaker 2: thinned out. You could never find any stock on certain things,
- 25:31Speaker 2: because you know, you could tell that they were kind
- 25:34Speaker 2: of going down at the.
- 25:35Speaker 3: End, like sparse.
- 25:37Speaker 2: Yeah, because we would go to the one on Vine
- 25:40Speaker 2: and it just, yeah, just kind of sparse. And that's
- 25:43Speaker 2: always sad because that's a plethora oh stuff restores.
- 25:48Speaker 3: I always feel like the indicator that something's going down
- 25:51Speaker 3: to is when you can't ever find an employee to
- 25:54Speaker 3: help you. Are you never are you? Or there's only
- 25:56Speaker 3: one person working the register that you're like, what's going
- 26:00Speaker 3: on here?
- 26:01Speaker 2: So it seems that they confirmed w returning to California
- 26:06Speaker 2: filing for bankruptcy and they shuttered all locations in twenty
- 26:09Speaker 2: twenty three. The home goods retailer will operate twelve locations
- 26:13Speaker 2: throughout the state and the combined with the Container Store,
- 26:17Speaker 2: which I also love a little expensive, but I do
- 26:20Speaker 2: love containers, and I don't know why I love.
- 26:24Speaker 3: We're learning so much about you today. We love I do,
- 26:27Speaker 3: we love containers.
- 26:28Speaker 2: You know what, There's a couple of things you should
- 26:30Speaker 2: know about me. I love bed, bath and beyond. I
- 26:33Speaker 2: love the Container Store. I love Edgar Allan Poe, and
- 26:37Speaker 2: I would not walk by a human skull without calling
- 26:40Speaker 2: the police.
- 26:41Speaker 3: Okay, that's just me, all right, we'll put that in
- 26:43Speaker 3: your bio. Yeah, I speaking of I love home goods store,
- 26:48Speaker 3: by the way, not Oh yeah, that is my videos,
- 26:52Speaker 3: that is my hashtag sponsor US. That is my happy place.
- 26:55Speaker 3: I will talk about your store all the time. All right.
- 26:59Speaker 3: So major gang boss down in Orange County. First Assistant
- 27:03Speaker 3: US Attorney Bill A. Sale says they arrested forty three
- 27:06Speaker 3: people are now in custody. They were indicted on charges
- 27:08Speaker 3: including murder, kidnapping, extortion, running an illegal gambling operation, and
- 27:13Speaker 3: drug trafficking.
- 27:16Speaker 2: Okay, and we will wrap this up with the three
- 27:20Speaker 2: major headlines that we are leaving out. That's the US
- 27:23Speaker 2: military developing plans to target Iran straight of Hormuz defenses
- 27:28Speaker 2: if this cease fire fails. One of my favorites Kellogg's
- 27:32Speaker 2: bringing back toys in cereal boxes for Toy Story five release.
- 27:37Speaker 2: I missed that. And as a kid who was broke, man,
- 27:42Speaker 2: that's fun to get a little toy in there. And lastly,
- 27:44Speaker 2: Tesla promises upgrade for customers who bought cars that can't
- 27:49Speaker 2: drive autonomously because we all need that. All right. That
- 27:54Speaker 2: was handled on the news. Stick around more to come
- 27:57Speaker 2: handles out today, as is Amy King, Heather Brookers with
- 28:01Speaker 2: me and the whole gang. So go nowhere. This is
- 28:04Speaker 2: KFI heard everywhere on the iHeartRadio app,
