- Lynn: Hello and welcome to tonight's episode of The Occultinarium. We are the voices of The Occultinarium and tonight's hosts are... Luigi: Luigi. Adriana: Adriana. Amelie: Amelie. Lynn: Lynn. It is the 6th of September 2026. We are recording an episode about the autumnal equinox coming up because some of our people are going on vacation. So we are pre-recording about the autumnal equinox or Mabon as it is called and our wonderful pagan witch Luigi. is going to be the star of this episode with supplements from the rest of us. A little shout out if I'm allowed, It's my mom's birthday so if she's listening happy birthday belated. Luigi: happy birthday to mama. Adriana: Congratulations. Amelie: Happy birthday! Lynn: Have you! Adriana: Thank you. Thank you for giving us Lynn to us. Thank you. Yeah. Luigi: Happy Sun's Lynn: Now I Luigi: Return! Lynn: have to make her listen to it. All Adriana: Yeah Amelie: You Lynn: right. Well, I mean, that is kind of in the spirit, right? We are the autumnal equinox or autumn. When we are looking outside, when I'm looking outside, the trees are starting to get their colors. The mushrooms have started to sprout, although it's been quite dry. It's been a bit dry this season here in Norway, not terribly, but the mushrooms are a bit off and on. I actually went on a mushroom not hunt talk? I'm not sure what to call it but our botanical garden had like a thing where they would walk us around the botanical garden and we would look for mushrooms and mosses and all kinds of things. Not edible ones, they weren't any out but other interesting mushrooms. the kinds that would break down the trees and everything. And the two ladies were super mushroom nerds. So that was really nice to partake in. So full in the mushroom season and autumn season. And it's a good time to say, well, to say thank you for sure, but to evaluate what we have. grown all year long, To see what our seeds have brought forth, both the physical seeds and the not so physical ones, and to let go of things. That is also a big topic for the autumnal equinox, I think. It's like when you look at the fruit, yeah, Amelie: Just, yeah. Lynn: it's like what you keep. keep and what you should go, let go. I mean, when you look at the trees outside, you know, they're not, they're not holding tight to their leaves. They're shedding them, they're letting go of things that no longer serves them. Luigi: It's a makeover. Lynn: So we should do, we should do the same. Or it's inviting us to have a similar kind of spirit, you know, to see, to get the reserves in, like to, you know. get the stuff that will get us over the winter and see what no longer serves. Luigi: beautifully said. Lynn: you. And as this is one of our regular episodes, we are doing our little game where one of us will pull a tarot card and keep it secret from everybody else for us then to maybe guess well or badly at the end and reveal it. talk about it and see whether it has anything to do with what we've actually been talking about. If it does, then that's always fun. And the honor today goes to Amelie. So she will pick a deck of her choice and be the fateful, the fateful Miss tarot tonight. Amelie: shall let the deck shed a card for us. Luigi: a leaf from the tree. Lynn: Like a leaf from the tree Amelie: Like a leaf from the tree, like an apple that we can devour later on. Lynn: Wow! Luigi: Make it juicy, make it juicy. Amelie: Make it juicy. Adriana: dark. Lynn: Okay, this is going to be interesting. If your deck actually listens, that will be very interesting card to pull. Alright, wow! Luigi, if I can give the word to you. Luigi: Yeah, I mean, well, rather than start talking about it, I was gonna give, I was gonna answer a question with a question. How do we all individually and collectively feel about this time of the year, you know, the equinox? Whether we refer to it as the equinox or Mabon, you know, how do we feel? I'm happy to go first, but I'll give you the chance. I'm passing the gauntlet. Lynn: Well, think... You may... Okay, so I think I might have mentioned this before, but for some reason the equinoxes aren't so strong. I mean, they're strong, right? But for me, I don't celebrate them as strongly or, you know, if that makes sense, as some of the others. And I kept wondering why. And I think we've talked about this a few times and... So yeah, must say that the autumnal equinox is not something that is very big on my mind. I'm aware that it happens. And... but I mean also because it's quite a yin Sabbath, right? It's very... we're going into the darkness. For those again who are just jumping in, the equinoxes are the times. when we have equal light or equal night as it is, equi, equal and nox, night. So day and night is equal and for the Northern Hemisphere people like we are, it depends where you are from the equator of course, you will feel this or notice this more than other places. And I live in Norway which is quite north, although I'm not all the way on top. But there's quite a big difference between summer and winter, where it's either just like six hours of night or just six, five hours of day where I live. So it's very tangible and very, you you can really feel it in your body. It's really going to have an effect that there is less light or more of it. And so the equinox is always in a balance. So it's kind of a threshold. festival of a threshold Sabbath. I think all of them are in a way, but you just know, okay, now it's the same. And now we're going after that moment. We're going into the darkness. And I like the darkness, right? But we're going into the darkness. So it's a bit more silent or quiet. It's not like the sun festivals where it's all, you know, we're celebrating the sun and there's the strength and the power of the sun. It's more like giving thanks to it and being aware that the warm days and the heat of the sun are going to dwindle now. So it's a bit like almost like a funeral for the sun or preparing, a funeral for the sun. And yeah, so I don't. I could do a bigger thing, but it's quite quiet for me, I think. It's just the recognition of that it's happening and the preparation. for the darker days and I have this you know thanking or whatnot but I like the season like if you're talking about you know just what's happening outside I quite enjoy this feeling how things prepare and how this explosive energy that we've had is just you know going down it's more my kind of energy I guess just yeah Luigi: great for the introverts. Amelie: think also exactly that you're so spot on there. It's like an introvert thing, but also a time to be with your family if you are with your family or I don't know for me, I see it a little bit like if you are, if you're a kid, it's a time where you can spend with your mom a little bit like that. You know when you, Lynn: Hmm. Amelie: because Like I for example have a pear tree, so I think I got used to the cycle and you can really tell that this is the time when the pears and it's like this for apples as well and a lot of fruits, we mentioned that. This is when you gather them and because there's so many, you want to preserve them so you can make things out of them, jams and all sorts of things. And... I guess a lot of people might think it's silly or boring, but that's also something that you can do together. And Lynn: you Amelie: it's something that you can enjoy throughout the winter as well. Whenever you, I Luigi: Very domestic. Amelie: don't know, make, yeah, make pancakes, you can have your own jam or whatever recipes you have. Yes. Lynn: quite lovely. Yeah, it's quite lovely. Luigi: Yeah, it makes me think of the Queen of Pentacles as you describe it, even though this is technically not her season, but it makes me think of Queen of Pentacles energy. Lynn: Mmm, yeah, absolutely. Amelie: Yeah, I'm thinking because Adriana: to me. Amelie: it's not only about this whole death in a sense because it's a little bit like this in between, it's a bit liminal almost. Yes, for the trees they drop the fruit so the fruit is dead for the tree I guess but it's not dead for us. It's something that we can use and enjoy. Yeah. Lynn: No, I mean it's a preparation, It's a preparation. Luigi: perspective Lynn: It's not like death doesn't come sudden for seasons normally, you know? It's a whole preparation. Amelie: Mmm. Lynn: this was also mentioned during the botanical garden walk actually, because we had... there was fallen trees of course, and the fallen trees are a source of nourishment for the mushrooms and the mushrooms... are the ones that are actually breaking it down and making it possible that the trees go back into the ground and all that. Adriana: Mm. Mm. Mm. Lynn: And there was an oak tree, or part of an oak tree that had fallen, and they weren't sure how long it's been there, but they just mentioned that oak trees, we know that they take a long time to grow and they become thousands of years old if you let them, and easily a hundred, of years. And the breakdown process, or they say they also... It takes them hundreds of years to die. And me as animist or pagan, I was like standing there and I'm thinking that that is so intriguing and interesting because we treat death often. mean, it comes sudden often, right? But if when you're old, some if there is a process, there's a whole process of dying. It's not it's not necessarily sudden unless it's an accident. There is a whole thing that happens. and something that I think should be sacred in a sense and not so not feared. We all have our fear, know, but it just really illustrated that, I think, just this thing that, OK, an oak tree takes hundreds of years to die. And then you stand there and you're like, wow. I mean, the tree is dead, right? But just the way of it going back to the ground and everything, takes a long, long time. Luigi: The cycle continues. Amelie: It's just different Adriana: So. Amelie: levels of being, different, like the Lynn: Yeah. Amelie: soul and the energy and all of that is interesting. Adriana: To me, this Lynn: Mm. Adriana: is a fantastic period of time because it's a very healing one. It can go very deep. I know this is corresponding, Mabon is between the 21st and 23rd of September. Lynn: Yes. Adriana: So it's like the end of Virgo, the end of the transition of the ninth and the 10th of this that we were studying in the tarot period. And so it's a transition, but it's a different transition because it's transition with balance. It's the balance between light and darkness. So we acquire like an equilibrium, know, like saying that we are not going dramatically towards an action. So it's like the generosity and the kindness that the universe is giving us the opportunity to take the things very kindly. First of all, we gratitude because even we come from the Sun period from Tiphareth from the ruler of the harvest and the expansion and everything is fantastic and we have plenty. Towards like the opportunity to go and prepare towards the darkness. So it's a very kind towards Yesod, towards the moon, so it's the transition between the sun towards the moon. But it's a period where things are given to us in equilibrium, in a balance is to say there is no judgment. You know, there is not 100 % darkness, there is not 100 % sun. It's a period where you have equal opportunities for you to study, to have gratitude, to reflect, to release and to plant like a new seed of in the darkness that is coming. So for you not to be afraid, it's to give you an opportunity to assess what you have got, you know, to be grateful for that. It gives you the generosity to realize what you have accepted, what is the things in the middle of the transition that you can change, the things that you can release, the things that you can keep with you and what it made you grow and plant in you. in the darkness, in the winter time that is coming, that you can have the hope that the foundation you got, the wisdom that you got in this transformation, it would be a positive one. So to me, it's a beautiful period. It's a period that you can use for your advantage, use for you to be kind to yourself, not to judge, but to learn and to heal. So it's an opportunity for you. to be very honest to yourself, be kind to yourself and to go inside to yourself, but with light. It's not going in the darkness, not knowing what you are going to experience, but with the opportunity to see that you can see from the light, go to the darkness to later on in the next year to come. to bring light again to something that you planted that it was selected. It's more like selecting the good seed that you put on with the hope that will flourish later in the next year. So to me, I found this a beautiful period and I'm very grateful for having these periods of transition, of kindness, of equal opportunities where there is no judgment and where you can... prepare yourself with love and kindness. So for me, that's what represents Mabon. I found that it's a beautiful, Luigi: Yeah. Adriana: very humble, it's a humble experience that you can have the opportunity to be very genuine and very honest to your own self. Luigi: Beautifully said, yeah. Adriana: as well as this. Luigi: And I think you all touched upon major themes of Mabon, one being gratitude, second being reflection and looking inwardly. The gratitude part, I suppose, can be applicable to any single Sabbath or any single time of your life, I suppose. But I guess because of the already mentioned, already known change of the seasons and the preparation that goes behind it. there's the space for gratitude. you know, we're collecting the second harvest. We are counting our blessings and storing our sustenance for the months of winter, for the months of the night, for the months of the queen of night and the months of death, and so on speaking, when the earth goes to sleep. Lynn: Mm-hmm. Luigi: So yeah, like I think one way that I like to look at Mabon is so using the legend or the myth of the- especially because you mentioned Oak, Lynn- using the legend or the myth of the Oak King or the Holly King and they don't have to be assigned to a specific gender or title and whatnot, these are just the names used throughout the myth. But yeah, I like to think of them because their crowning, so to speak, when they start taking power is during the solstice and there is in the myth- and in the tradition some battle that takes place, whether it's a physical battle or a metaphorical battle. And I like to think of the equinoxes as them taking a seat together at the table, at the round table, which can represent the wheel of the year, the round table of Camelot, the round table of justice and whatnot. But I like to see them as, As basically in the Winter Solstice, the Oak King is now alive and wins over the Holly King. So that is the battle, that is the win and defeat. Then when it comes to the Spring Equinox, they meet together, they rejoin together, and now the Holly King is passing on council to the Oak King in the Spring Equinox, and he's telling them, this is the kingdom that you're going to rule, this is the kingdom that you're going to protect. Here's some advice from you, from the season that I belong to, from the realm and the world that I pose domain over. And now in the Summer Solstice, another battle takes place and the Holly King wins over the Oak King. And Dulce Sin Fundo, find ourselves at the Equinox and I like to see them coming together again. And now the Oak King is able to give counsel to the Holly King. So in a way, the Holly King will give... pieces of wisdom or pearls of wisdom around sustainability, around perseverance, around gratitude I suppose. But now the Oak King gives some counsel to the Holly King teaching them about remember the value of life, remember about your inner and outer strength, remember about generosity and principles of abundance, because those are the principles that we're going to need to sustain us during the months of the main of the Holly King. And I think that comes very well into play, or the image kind of matches the symbolism around the season of Libra that Mabon introduces. Lynn: Mm. Mm. We're having similar traditions in the Hellenistic traditions where you have this idea that Apollo reigns the summer half of the year and then gives rain or is taken but gives rain to Dionysos for the darker times and also the temples then would switch or like the temples of Apollo then would become Dionysian temples. Adriana: Mm-hmm. Lynn: Yeah, so this is one of the things where I would like to time travel and I mean, I think I've been one of those ladies, but to see, to experience, to see, interview them, who do you like better? I have a preference, but you know. Luigi: haha Lynn: What's the vibe like in your temples with Apollo with Dionysus Amelie: You Lynn: around? like, mm-hmm. Sorry, I'm not gonna Luigi: I mean, I think you're... Lynn: wormhole more. shouldn't. Adriana: Thank Luigi: I think you're hitting something Lynn: Distractions, distractions. Luigi: with Apollo though, because I remember reading somewhere like Mabon, which derives from the Welsh tradition. In the etymology, it's basically like a Celtic version of the Roman term, or Roman term, of the Roman Apollo. I need to check it again, but I remember reading about this. Amelie: I like that you mentioned Lynn: interesting. Amelie: the changing of temples but that because that's also a thing if you have an altar for example it's also a time to change it up Adriana: Yes. Amelie: a bit. But I guess altars you change up every single so eight times a year but I believe right now it's almost a little bit more important because of the equinox just as important as it was last time for the summer. So it's a bit of a like a bigger overhaul. Lynn: See, I need to get more temple, Amelie: You can also just, if you have an apple tree, just grab an apple or a few and you know. Lynn: I found a fallen leaf, know, put a fallen leaf on it. There's a lot of them. Amelie: Do you know what, Adriana: it. Amelie: yeah, do know what I really like? And I know this is a Christmas thing but as soon as it starts getting darker it makes me think of this. When you put clo... cloves? Is it cloves? Cloves? Inside Lynn: Close? Yeah. Yeah. Adriana: Yes. Amelie: a... oranges? I know it's a Christmas thing but it just smells so good so why not start with it a little bit earlier. Adriana: Yes, yes. Lynn: Yeah. Hmm. Hmm. Sure. Adriana: But there is a little Lynn: Yeah. Adriana: ritual as well. You can do is put a white candle in one side, cut an apple, you know, so across, where it shows the star, for the star, yes. And then a black candle. Just like, shoo, shoo, shoo. So, Lynn: The way of the goddess. Yes. The only true way to cut an apple. Luigi: in half a year. Adriana: and then you can ponder and meditate the things that the sun has given you, so the heart's been the gratitude and so on. And then the representation Lynn: Mm, mm. Adriana: of the apple that is the fruit that the Lynn: Mm. Adriana: star in the middle to guide you, to give you Lynn: Hmm. Adriana: that support and guidance from the spirits. And then you can turn on like the dark or black candle in order to invite the darkness to come in as well, because it's not good or evil, It's just the darkness will bring more inner side and more deep knowledge or going to your subconscious mind to whatever you need to work in. So it's like Lynn: Mmm. Mmm. Adriana: a transition into the light dark and equilibrium of both of them stay in the dark and then revert with the light. So it's like the Lynn: Mm. Mm. Adriana: justice card and go towards the death card. But by inviting the darkness inside of you, you are not creating like something woo-hoo this is bad or it's evil. No, it's part of the cycle of life and the seed grows in the darkness. And that's the thing that we have to Lynn: Thank you. Adriana: get used to is to invite darkness in our life as a positive thing, not as really something to be scared of. So I found this Mabon a beautiful experience. Lynn: No, it means... It's in many ways of traditions or many ways of life you have this polarity whether we believe in duality or polarity at all, right? But Adriana: Mm. Mm. Lynn: it's in many traditions, I mean even like the polarity of the zodiac elements that we're having is always switching from a yang sign to a yin sign and back and forth where all of the earth and the water are the darker yin and slower and the introspected yin signs and all the fire and air are the more outgoing, external, doing... yang signs and you know also the yin yang symbol where it's like you know it's there's this chinese saying that i will not pronounce in chinese because i do not speak chinese but they're you know Adriana: Yeah. Lynn: one one light like or at one time it's light then it is dark and that changes the only way It's always in a change, it's always changing and that's how it's supposed to be. Otherwise we would just stagnate. Adriana: I found that refreshing and beautiful because as a healer myself, they're always Lynn: Mm. Adriana: like inviting us to be in the light side, know, work in the light, work with the light and you know, you teach people to, for healing you have to be in the light. so, and I think I have evolved that. I think we have to embrace both sides, you know, as a unit, as you just explained, there's a cycle, Yin and Yang is, is something that complements each other. we cannot just, I think by trying to be in the light and the high vibration, whatever people want to talk about it, we are denying an aspect of our own selves. And I think it's a big mistake. I love working with you guys because yes, Lynn and Lynn: We are so We are so dark. Adriana: Luigi, yes, and Amelie is at another level, you know. Lynn: Hehehe Adriana: I love it. She's in the Void. I have learned Luigi: She's in the void. Adriana: so much to accept that the darkness is a good thing and it's a beautiful Lynn: Mm. Adriana: thing. And experiencing this and your teaching guys for me, it has been liberating and it has been a very powerful healing process. So thank you. Thank you very much. Carry on being as dark as possible, please. Luigi: Yeah. Aw, thank you. Lynn: That's... Yes! Again, it's the balance, it's the balance, right? mean, Adriana: Cheers. Lynn: yeah, yeah, yeah. I mean... Amelie: fuck balance. Luigi: We're gonna get censored. But But I like that you brought up the ritual of the apple, which is totally true, by the way. But what I did for myself, which I don't recommend to do for anyone, for everyone, but... So what I did, the very first time that I celebrated Mabon through a ritual, I did cut the apple, what I call the apple of Mabon. and I did collect the seeds from the pentacle, from the star. But rather than do that every single year, that first time that I celebrated the Sabbath, I looked deep within, again, the element of reflection of Mabon and the traditions of the Sabbath, and I sought or searched for the most deepest desires, know, the ones that you don't necessarily even speak about to your close ones. And I... Lynn: Shadow Word. Luigi: Yeah, yeah, well, I guess it can count as that. And I attach them to the seeds of the apple and I enclose them in a special place that is now part of the altar. And so what I do year by year, every Mabon, I not keep track, but I check in and I try and explore with myself and the guides how much we've done so far, how much more is there to do, you know, to truly manifest this desire, this dream. And obviously the reason why I don't repeat it every year because then rather than adding dreams and dreams and dreams, again, I was looking for those essentials, know, like those building blocks of my existence that I truly want to see being created and manifested and tangible into my life. And every single year, every Mabon, there's like a regular check-in. So it's not to put pressure on myself or on anyone who wants to try it. But that was the personal, I suppose, tradition of mine. What I do on a reoccurring basis, again focusing on the symbol of the apple, and maybe I borrow some of this from the Magic of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, I give a desire for the Sabbath season and I incorporate it in the apple and through consuming the apple and there is some chanting and some lighting on incense and candles and some readings and whatnot, but essentially the consumption of the apple, of what I like to call the apple of Mabon. is the... What's a good word for it? It's the processing as well as the Lynn: the essence. Luigi: embodiment of the wish or of the desire or of the Adriana: Okay. Luigi: goal that wants to be manifested in that particular season. Lynn: find it so interesting how some traditions focus much on desire and manifestation and other traditions focus much more on letting go of the desires and being nothing. So that just struck me right now. It's very interesting. Luigi: Yeah. Well, I guess because where you mentioned Adriana: Mm. Luigi: the combination of certain tradition matching with desires and other matching with releasing. guess in this one, because obviously Mabon is heavily associated, not heavily associated, Mabon is the autumn equinox. And the term Mabon came around the 70s, I think by what's his name again? Aidan Kelly, perhaps. and then it was applied in Wiccan tradition and Neo-Pagan tradition. But in terms of the Autumn Equinox, the most important, one of the most important myths that I think is also one of the building blocks of Western esotericism and maybe global esotericism and occult, because he explores the principles of death and life. Again, the kidnapping. of Persephone from Hades out of his desire to have a companion. Out of his desire to have a companion during the season of Libra, the house, the seventh Lynn: Mm. Mm. Luigi: house of companionship and relationships and contracts and unions. So that's really, really intriguing. Adriana: Yeah, the myth of Persephone suggests it fits perfectly with this equation that is, you know, from life Lynn: Mm. Adriana: to death and back from the Hades. So, yes, it's that sense of dealing with your darkness and come back to life again with a new thing, a transformation. So that is what is wonderful. I think that is a beautiful season to celebrate. It's extremely healing to me. Because I know people celebrate like the second harvest or the gratitude, but this period allows you to go so far. It's extremely flexible and it spans into light and darkness. it's not like, yeah, the binary points, you know, but it's in between the whole trajectory and go back to the cycle, you know. So I found it's a beautiful season. Yeah. Lynn: As for the Norse traditions, because I usually talk about that or mention it in these episodes as well, and as far as the equinoxes go, officially they weren't very big in Norse traditions either. There were, last, when you talked about the vernal equinox, I talked a bit about Disthing , because that was a bigger festival, and that is kind of like the vernal equinox. It was celebrated around the time. For the autumnal equinox, that also wasn't really marked much. However, they had a festival shortly after, it's like a week after, usually around the 29th of September, which was called Michaelmas there, and that is a... a mirroring in a sense some of the spring celebrations. There was also Thorrablot in the spring, which is where they start making the first beers, I think. And that's where you stop having candles. It was forbidden to use candles anymore because people would, you know, burn their house down. And The mirrored version now is that at for Michaelmas, the first candles would be lit. So that the start to season where people used candles again during the next half of the year. And it's very much a harvest festival and a Thanksgiving festival where people would come together and drink beer together and reminisce about what they've done with the harvest and what went well and what didn't. around like a beer with pieces of bread in it and you know and and share that and there was you know and yoo hey and all that and Luigi: haha Amelie: It kind of falls Lynn: candles Amelie: on the, on the full moon, the harvest, the harvest. Is that the, that's the one, the harvest, the full moon. I think it's, yeah, the harvest moon. Lynn: Yeah, yeah, the harvest moon. Yes, harvest. It should be. Amelie: I had to put in the full in there for some reason. Lynn: Although harvest month is August, but like, so, but yeah, it should be harvest. Amelie: I think that the full moon is at the end of the month. If I'm not, not really-ish. 26, so. Lynn: yeah, mean, we're having new moon coming out now. Yeah, we're having new moon coming out now. Adriana: Yes. Lynn: So yeah, it's in two weeks time. Luigi: Next New Moon is on the 26th of September, which will be a few days just after the Amelie: Yeah, 26, yeah. Luigi: equinox, so just after Mabon. Lynn: Mm. Mm. Adriana: Okay, guys, I took the liberty to prepare a little tarot spread for the Mabon And I think it's a beautiful spread that it is an invitation for you, as I say, as a healer. I think I'm always based to find something that is productive and useful for you and to evolve and to prosper and to be happy and so on. So the little spread that I created that Lynn is going to put the picture on is based in the meaning and in the teachings that we can use for Mabon. So it's a spread of eight cards. and you put justice in the middle. Because justice is probably what represents Mabon, is the balance and the equilibrium into light and darkness and is the clarity and the truth that this brings. And it's like looking to the harvests of our choices with no judgment and what is in balance and what is out of balance and what they need to be aligned to the next cycle. Then you put The card number one, will be the harvest. That is what I have cultivated this year. What is the effort, the growth and the experience. Then the number two that harvest is something that we have planted and is right there. But number two is the fruit is what is I'm ready to receive. What I'm... You know, because sometimes we have things around us and we don't see it or we don't accept it, we don't admit it. So it's like what we have or what we are ready to receive, what are the blessings or the results or what is the abundance available to us. Then we have the third card that is the shadow card. They will be the balances that I need to acknowledge. What's the thing that have been avoiding or what is the thing that have denied or what's thing that have given away? What is the energy have given? Is too much, too little. So again, it's an invitation for you to reflect without any judgment. The fourth card is the release is what has completed its purpose and need to let go. And Lynn talked about that in the beginning is the main message is what is the thing that I have achieved and what is the things that are there that I manifested this year but I don't need any longer and what I have to let go. Then we have like the transition from the sun, the harvest and the fruit and the going towards the shadow then goes the release and then we go to descend into the darkness like going from Tiphareth to Yesod and is the descent that is asking. What are the hidden truths? So it's more the influence from the moon, it's the influence from the Yesod here, that is, what are the hidden truths that I have not been able to see? What are the things I need to come out? What is from the subconscious mind that I need to show up for me to see? Then we have the seed as well. We are going into the darkness process that is to that, from light to darkness. The seed is what I should carry to the next seasons, that inner wisdom that allow me to grow up and to evolve. What is the foundation that already like just sort of period that I have to plant in order to get manifested later on in Malkuth. And then we have the return that is what you were saying about Persephone. You know, the cycle, they go to darkness and come back to the light. It will be the return is what can emerge after facing the darkness from the transformation. What is the next chapter after surrendering? So I think it's a very positive thing that you can do at home. trust your cards, trust your intuition. I think the anchor here is the justice card that you can base on that and ponder on as your anchor to have no judgment, but to have clarity and truth. So I hope that you enjoy this little tarot spread for Mabon Lynn: Thank you. We can post it Luigi: Excellent. Lynn: on Instagram after for example so people can check it out. Amelie: Yeah, of course. Luigi: Yeah, thank you, Adriana. Adriana: No, that is the healer hat, as usual. Amelie: I also... Lynn: All righty. is it time to reveal the card yet? Luigi: Review the card Adriana: Yeah, okay. Lynn: Or, yeah. Amelie: There's, there's, well, while Lynn was talking before, it just, clicked in my head and it made me think Lynn: Mm-hmm. Amelie: of another card from the Terra Volatile. Just because Luigi told me how to pronounce it, I'm really trying hard, but Lynn: Mm-hmm. Luigi: You Amelie: I'm constantly butchering it. Luigi: I'm impressed. Lynn: It's beautiful Amelie: Volatile. I wish I could say it perfectly. Lynn: you Luigi: precisely. Amelie: Exactly. Luigi: You did, you did. Volatile. Amelie: This deck has, everybody knows that I like the Temperance card, but this deck also has an art card just like the Thoth deck has. But specifically in the depiction of this deck is a woman that is baking and it just really made me think of the fruits Adriana: Mmm. Amelie: that you take and you make it into something different. by making sure that there is enough sugar, enough heat. It's, you know, you have to boil it for a long time. It just really make me think. It's Lynn: Hmm. Hmm. It's al- yeah. It's alchemy. Yeah. Yeah. Amelie: alchemy, but it's Mabon alchemy. Adriana: Mmm. Lynn: Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Amelie: So I just wanted to share that card because it's so cute. It also reminds me of like my grandma for some reason, not because that she looked like Lynn: Mm. Amelie: this, but. Lynn: Mm. Amelie: She made great food. Luigi: Bless the grandmas. Lynn: The best memories, the best memories of grandmothers. Amelie: Yeah. Adriana: But this is a period as well to like invoke the ancestors, isn't it? It's like the support from Lynn: you Adriana: the ancestors Luigi: Yeah, yeah. Adriana: that it brings us that Lynn: For sure Adriana: little comfort that it prepares us to something new that is coming. So it's beautiful. I know, Amelie, you are wearing your grandfather's hat. And I think that is very moving that you choose that day, like, you know, feeling that presence, that warm and cozy, like being in a womb, you know. hot and protected that is preparing you to grow for exploring something new. So yes, I think I was thinking in the ancestral connection as well is a very rewarding one. So yes, Mabon, I think is the gentleness that is plentiful and is advising you. It's like when the parents are raising us when we are little to this is dangerous, don't do that, don't do that. But at the same time, we are in a cocoon of protection. So yes, I think it's a beautiful connection. Thank you. Lynn: It's a little bit of gentleness Luigi: Yeah, better in line. Lynn: that comes before the harshness of winter. Adriana: Yes. Lynn: So enjoy it while you can. Luigi: True, true. Lynn: Also speaking of which, our... astrological weather so so we might all really want to get our bearings and and make sure we we make it well over the Venus Amelie: Enjoy while you can. Lynn: retrograde with Mars Adriana: Yes. Lynn: and Pluto squares and all that anyway not to distract from that eat the bread while it's Adriana: So eat the bread while it's hot. Yes. Luigi: Yeah. Lynn: Yeah, something like that. Okay warm get a stomach ache and Adriana: Warm, yeah. Luigi: very in line with the spiritual themes of the Sabbath. Adriana: So astrologically, where are we now? So for Mabon? Lynn: gosh, I don't really want to get into it, but we We're having Venus retrograde coming our way. And somebody here mentioned this earlier during this conversation with I don't remember what exactly it was, but the Dark Knight of soul and going into the shadow aspects of relationships Adriana: Yes. Lynn: and shadow aspects of, well. both love relationships but also family and all that and that can the introspective and dark versions of Venus are going to be very strongly activated in October and Pluto who is you know collective fear amongst other collective fear and trauma but also working through trauma is going to also activate that and then Mars who we know is a bit of an angry planet sometimes and brings all the heat and brings all the action is also going to be activated during that time so it sounds just like it's going to be a big cluster puck so I don't know we will see we will see get the popcorn Amelie: So grab the popcorn and enjoy the drama. Lynn: and yeah and don't be surprised Adriana: you Luigi: Twilight Zone. Lynn: just just you know Yeah, it will be interesting, I guess. But we shall record more things before that happens. But Samhain might just fall. Luigi: If we survive. Lynn: Samhain might fall into this time. And we know that Samhain is very strong in itself with the lifting of the veil and everything. And that's just in there Adriana: Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Lynn: as well. And ancestors coming back and forth. And so there's just a lot of stuff that is probably going to go on for a lot of people, not everybody, but there might be stuff happening. OK, that's it. my gosh. let's enjoy Mabon and especially enjoy it while it lasts. Hail, hail. OK, the card, Adriana: But wonderful. Enjoy, Mabon, for a long glass. Yes. Luigi: Hail hail! Amelie, what's the card? Lynn: the card. Amelie: Anybody wants to have a guess? Lynn: Is it fitting Luigi: is Lynn: or not? The first question. Amelie: I think it kind of is. I think it is. Lynn: Yeah, I mean if it was super... Yeah, Luigi: there's that kind of views. Lynn: if it was... Adriana: Is that Major Arcana? Lynn: If it's super fitting, I would disc, but probably not. Amelie: No, it's a court card. It's a court card. Adriana: Okay. Luigi: court cards. Lynn: But it's not... It should be the Queen Adriana: Okay. Lynn: of Pentacles because we talked about her, but I guess it's not. Adriana: No, I don't think so. Amelie: It's not, but it's very close. Lynn: It's a pantacles though Luigi: is it? Lynn: because pantacles would fit Luigi: could be the night, the night of pentacles. Adriana: Page, the princess. Lynn: No, no, show us. Amelie: Okay, it is a queen. It's the queen of wands. One of our favorites. I think it's quite fitting. Adriana: Okay. okay. Fire. Yeah. Lynn: yes. the wonderful queen. Luigi: Okay. Aww. Speaking of the shadow... Adriana: Yes. Lynn: She's so good for her samhain energy. I mean, it's just because I see her as witch. Amelie: I think it's quite... yeah, I thought about that too. Yeah, Luigi: Yeah. Adriana: Yeah. Amelie: I thought about that too. She's very like that, but at the same time I thought she's still the queen, so she still has that watery aspect of being, you know, nurturing, but... Adriana: Just save me one. Amelie: She... Yes. It's... She kind of... How to say... There's no... She's... I lost a word. I had a good word but now I lost it. Lynn: It's like... It's fine. It's like the summer when summer doesn't want to go. I mean, the seasons, they just interchange. I don't have this idea that seasons try to hold on. But if the seasons were people and they had a notion of, I don't want to go, I'm oblivious of what's coming, then the Queen of Wands could represent that. kind of when summer, because we look outside and not here, but other places I guess we look outside it might still feel like summer, it might still be super warm, there might still be people going like in t-shirts and going swimming and stuff, Luigi: It is quite warm today. Adriana: Hmm. Hmm. Lynn: right? And enjoying the sunflowers like she does, being kind of trying to be oblivious that autumn is coming and that the winds are getting cooler and all that. So it could be that energy of like, you know, not really wanting to let go yet and just enjoying the last full-blown summer days. We haven't had these Luigi: Additionally, Amelie: But Lynn: in a few days now in Norway. gotten a little, I mean, it's still about 20 degrees, but the wind is really cold and it's in this weird time Adriana: Okay. Luigi: I Amelie: Mmm. Lynn: when it's like, I kind of have to go with the jacket and then I get too warm anyway. Like it's just in between right now, but it's definitely autumn. Adriana: But to me, to me it's like what she represents the authoritarian, but the managerial, the fire of inviting us to take action, but in an organized way. So it's like, again, for me is the meaning of that balance. Like they manage well the resources that you have, but take prompt action because this is not going to last for too long. So for me is an instruction that she's giving us saying, be strong, be powerful, take advantage of all the resources that you have now and take action. So yeah, I think it's Luigi: Yeah. Adriana: a teaching that she's giving us today. Amelie: Also a bit like, don't be a wimp. know, she's giving us the Lynn: You Adriana: Yes. Luigi: Yeah Amelie: taste of Samhain, right? So it's Adriana: Yes. Lynn: Mm. Amelie: like, you guys, you know what's coming. So don't be a wimp, just give in. And Lynn: Just go. Amelie: thinking of witches, it makes me think of like, she might have a broomstick there somewhere. So just like, you know, clean out the fallen leaves and whatever and just... Just look forward to what's coming because it's coming whether you like it or not. Luigi: Indeed. Lynn: for sure. Luigi: What strikes me as well, I'm picking up a couple of things. One, because we were talking about aspects of Mabon and of the Equinox season, you know, just to work and ponder on and welcome the Shadow. So the Queen that rules this season, not yet, not at the time of this recording, but at the time of the release of the episode, the Queen ruling this season would be the Queen of Swords. That meaning that her shadow would be the Queen of Wands ruling the season of spring. So Adriana: Okay. Amelie: yes. Luigi: it almost comes as a reminder of, you're entering the realm of Nyx. You're entering the realm of darkness and the night soon. Soon. again, the Equinox is more about the equilibrium between the two. But here's the light of the Queen of Wands. Store it, keep it, nourish it, and have it fuel your home, yourself, your connections. Adriana: Mmm. Mmm. Luigi: through the season of winter. That would be the first one. The second one that came out. So when it comes to the figure of Demeter, obviously I believe that the empress may be more applicable, I suppose. But if I had to pick a queen, between the queens that can embody at best Demeter, I would either go for the queen of pentacles or the queen of wands. And she reminds me then of the archetype of the Demeter Now, there is gonna... have to say farewell to her daughter descending into the underworld. know, like the authority figures of life sitting on the threshold of the next life, I suppose. Lynn: Thank you. thank you. Insightful. Amelie: I'm just looking Luigi: You Amelie: at the little black cat. Lynn: Yes. I mean, the black cat is Luigi: Always. Cerberus! Cerberus! Lynn: great. Amelie: my little black cat that comes Adriana: for you, Amelie. Amelie: to visit me. Adriana: Yes. So side of this card for Amelie, what would you like to tell us about that? What is your feeling for this? Amelie: I don't feel like there's a dark side. Is there a dark side? Lynn: always a dark side. Amelie: I know that there's a dark side, but I'm thinking like, what's... Dark sides are not always bad, you know? Luigi: Hahaha Adriana: No, we determined that. I'm fascinated by that. Lynn: Mm-hmm. Adriana: You know, I love it now. I wish I could have Luigi: But yeah, I think. Adriana: more. Luigi: think hold on to your light during this coming season, especially after the coming astrological turbulences that Lynn has mentioned. You're going to need it. Adriana: Yes. Luigi: And I guess you were talking about the Mars Square situation as well, and Mars will be ruling the Queen of Wands, so maybe it's also an invitation for us to keep in check ourselves during this period where Mars can be more temperamental than usual. Lynn: Hmm. Hmm. Amelie: Also, I guess to keep the energy, be a little bit feisty because we all know once it starts getting darker, we all kind of start feeling a little bit lethargic almost Luigi: Sarge Amelie: because it's dark and all of that. she, yes, Lynn: Light candles. Amelie: maybe she also says a little bit, it's okay to be a little bit mischievous sometimes, it's okay to, mischievous. like somebody, some people have pronounced it, it's okay because it kind of adds a little bit of fun Luigi: Mm. Amelie: to it all. It's Lynn: Ha ha ha. Amelie: not all about Lynn: being so serious. Amelie: being too serious, yes, because that can get very heavy sometimes, specifically Lynn: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Amelie: during the period when I guess a lot of people as well, they almost mourn summer. because a lot of people love summer. So it's Lynn: Mm-hmm. Adriana: Thank you. Amelie: a way of keeping it up to just, Lynn: Mm. Amelie: I don't know, prank some people, but not too bad, you Luigi: Don't take my sunflowers! Adriana: Hahaha! Luigi: Don't take my sunflowers! Amelie: Think about the cat, Adriana: Excellent. Amelie: know, what a cat can be a little bit of a ball of Adriana: you, Sherry. Amelie: mischievous pranking, you know, a little bit Luigi: Mm. Lynn: for sure. Amelie: of a scratch here and there is okay, but just don't scratch the eyes out basically. Thank you. Luigi: Very wise words. Lynn: Good advice, good advice. Luigi: Yeah, food for thoughts. Lynn: Okay. Well, Amelie: you Lynn: thank you everybody that would wrap up our episode about Mabon. Hope you enjoyed. As always, like, subscribe if you're not subscribed Adriana: No. Lynn: yet. Comment, like. Woohoo! and have a blessed beautiful Mabon and Equinox time and catch you in the next episode. Good night! Adriana: Thank Luigi: Blessed Adriana: you. Luigi: Mabon. Good night. Amelie: Bye.
