- 1:06Speaker 1: when I was watching one of the videos that that
- 1:08Speaker 1: Whiskey sixty one hat was not exactly where I wanted it.
- 1:14Speaker 1: But we've got the cell like it may have a
- 1:17Speaker 1: little too much stuff on there, but I think we've
- 1:20Speaker 1: got a Mike Leech signed football there all the way
- 1:23Speaker 1: over there on the left side. I think I'm not
- 1:28Speaker 1: giving that away. If he was still alive, I would,
- 1:31Speaker 1: but I'm not giving that away. I got a couple
- 1:33Speaker 1: other things back there from when Leech was in studio
- 1:37Speaker 1: that he signed, but can't can't give any of that
- 1:40Speaker 1: away anymore. That's a treasure, all right, we would like
- 1:46Speaker 1: to hear from you. I'm about to tell you about
- 1:49Speaker 1: a really cool wine dinner at Taste Italian Kitchen. But first,
- 1:54Speaker 1: the Dancing Rabbit golf text line is six h one
- 1:58Speaker 1: eight eight five three seven seven six. You can find
- 2:03Speaker 1: us on x at bo Bounds. I just tweeted to
- 2:07Speaker 1: Wally Cummins. Chef Whally Cummins. He's one of the four
- 2:13Speaker 1: to six chefs that we have as far as are
- 2:16Speaker 1: like in residence chefs for the Out of Bounds Show.
- 2:21Speaker 1: Wally will be cooking for us soon. And he's blown
- 2:26Speaker 1: up on TikTok. He's got I mean, it's unbelievable, just
- 2:31Speaker 1: insane and uh so he cooks, talks about it so on.
- 2:37Speaker 1: And what was my point in that he needs to
- 2:41Speaker 1: cook for us? I just oh find us on x
- 2:44Speaker 1: at bo Bounds. I just tweeted too Wally Cummins to
- 2:47Speaker 1: put pressure on him. Now I'm saying it on the air.
- 2:51Speaker 1: It's time to cook some burgers and bring them in
- 2:54Speaker 1: studio so that we can have a burger feast maybe
- 2:57Speaker 1: with Bar two next week. Bar two gets here at
- 3:00Speaker 1: nine o'clock in the morning. We'll get him over here
- 3:03Speaker 1: from the airport by ten hopefully and uh and then
- 3:08Speaker 1: we'll do a show after our show just on YouTube,
- 3:11Speaker 1: and then we'll book it to Pearl River Resort on Tuesday,
- 3:15Speaker 1: do an afternoon show just on YouTube, and then a
- 3:18Speaker 1: big Wednesday morning SEC Media Day show from Pearl River
- 3:23Speaker 1: Resort with Diamond Dave bar two Matrix Analytical and he
- 3:27Speaker 1: is on a roll. He sent me forty seven graphics
- 3:30Speaker 1: last night. It's like a total dissertation trying to unpack that.
- 3:37Speaker 1: I will tell you's got Jeff Levy ranked one hundred
- 3:39Speaker 1: and twenty ninth out of one hundred and thirty two coaches.
- 3:42Speaker 1: We'll hit all that next week. John summerwll Peete Golden.
- 3:45Speaker 1: It's tough to get you read on Golding because you
- 3:47Speaker 1: can't you don't know. It's totally unknown to be determined, right,
- 3:52Speaker 1: But he's got numbers on Alex Golish at Auburn Lane,
- 3:55Speaker 1: at LSU Deboor, Elko Beamer, silver Field Old Again. I
- 4:01Speaker 1: think I think the biggest like improvement from the team
- 4:07Speaker 1: this year in the SEC will be Florida. So we'll
- 4:10Speaker 1: see how that looks now. Y'all know we love good food.
- 4:13Speaker 1: I love local food, I love we love dieve bars,
- 4:16Speaker 1: we love fantastic restaurants, and we we love all kinds
- 4:23Speaker 1: of different food and you know all of Veno if
- 4:25Speaker 1: you've listened to the show, So uh taste. Italian Kitchen
- 4:29Speaker 1: is doing back to back wine dinners with Orange Swift,
- 4:35Speaker 1: which is a hell of a winemaker. And so let
- 4:40Speaker 1: me give you the line up. They're doing one on
- 4:43Speaker 1: Monday and start well it tastes Italian Kitchen Orne Swift
- 4:47Speaker 1: Wine Dinner and one on Tuesday in Ridgeland Orne Swift
- 4:51Speaker 1: Wine Dinner. I'll run through it here. You've got a
- 4:56Speaker 1: seafood salad with a blank stare solving on blanc. Sounds fabulous.
- 5:02Speaker 1: You got a wild mushroom risotto, which I'm all in
- 5:06Speaker 1: with a mannequin chardonnay. You've got wild boar ragu Are
- 5:12Speaker 1: you kidding me? Eight years in the desert Ziffindale blend.
- 5:18Speaker 1: I'm all about that. That sounds ridiculous. Good grief.
- 5:26Speaker 2: Uh.
- 5:26Speaker 1: Then you've got a beef braciole with marinera, parmesan and polenta.
- 5:33Speaker 1: How about this pairing from Orange Swift A Machete, Petite
- 5:37Speaker 1: Sarah Sarah, and Grenache. If you've listened to the show,
- 5:40Speaker 1: those are three of my favorite grapes, maybe my three
- 5:44Speaker 1: most favorite grapes. So that's a blend that sounds heaven
- 5:47Speaker 1: and like it's gonna have some body to it, and
- 5:51Speaker 1: that beef Bracioli I'm in. And then uh, steak Florentine.
- 5:55Speaker 1: I mean, how about this dinner? Are y'all? Are you
- 5:57Speaker 1: ready to roll? I mean you're either in and you're
- 6:00Speaker 1: ready for SEC football and you're locked in and you're
- 6:03Speaker 1: in the arena, or you're not. Steak Florentine is a
- 6:09Speaker 1: mercury head Cabernet savignon. That's gonna be a big boy
- 6:13Speaker 1: wine with some which I'm all about. So that's the
- 6:18Speaker 1: lineup at Tastes Italian Kitchen in start Well on Monday
- 6:23Speaker 1: and in Ridgeland on Tuesday. Taste Italian Kitchen dot com.
- 6:29Speaker 1: Taste Italian Kitchen dot com for more information, or follow
- 6:33Speaker 1: them on Facebook and Instagram. They're posting about this all
- 6:35Speaker 1: the time. That's a heck of a lineup of fabulous
- 6:39Speaker 1: food and absolutely delicious wine. Grab another couple, have a
- 6:44Speaker 1: great night, celebrate local restaurant at Taste Italian Kitchen, Orne
- 6:48Speaker 1: Swift Wine Dinner Monday and Tuesday. Oh Erseamlier will be
- 6:53Speaker 1: in studio tomorrow. She thought about it and we're gonna
- 6:55Speaker 1: drink some wine. I don't know what she's bringing, but
- 6:57Speaker 1: I've known Bobby for years. She's insanely talented. I met
- 7:02Speaker 1: her ten years ago, I guess at restaurant Tyler, and
- 7:09Speaker 1: then I've seen her at some wine dinners around the state.
- 7:16Speaker 1: She's very, very knowledgeable, and so Chef Crag and the
- 7:20Speaker 1: crew bring her in. She is now the sum and
- 7:22Speaker 1: they're they're rolling out more restaurants and she's the somblier,
- 7:30Speaker 1: which is great. And she'll be in studio tomorrow and
- 7:33Speaker 1: we'll we'll talk a little wine. And I don't know
- 7:36Speaker 1: about you, but I love local food. That's and this
- 7:41Speaker 1: show has been built on having mills together and sharing
- 7:46Speaker 1: them and then enjoying family, friendship and sports, which I
- 7:51Speaker 1: think is just this. I may not have made an money,
- 7:53Speaker 1: but we've had some amazing experiences the last twenty plus years.
- 7:58Speaker 1: God have had amazing dinners coast coast with fascinating people,
- 8:02Speaker 1: which is really, really, really cool. Does it get any
- 8:06Speaker 1: better than a two hour dinner possibly three with family
- 8:09Speaker 1: and friends, and just I mean, isn't that what they've
- 8:13Speaker 1: been doing since the beginning of time? Breaking bread with interesting,
- 8:18Speaker 1: fascinating people, which stimulates the brain and the senses, which
- 8:24Speaker 1: then gives you great conversations and experiences. Hell, yes, I'm
- 8:29Speaker 1: in so anyway, Bobby's going to be She'll bey in
- 8:31Speaker 1: studio tomorrow. We'll sip on some wine and we'll talk
- 8:36Speaker 1: good food at Taste. And they're orange Swift wine dinner,
- 8:41Speaker 1: which is right up my alley, Risotto, wild mushroom. Let's go.
- 8:47Speaker 1: I'm in Taste Italian Kitchen dot com. Jackson Meadows is
- 8:51Speaker 1: now starving. He's been nodding his head the whole time.
- 8:54Speaker 1: I'm hungry. He's hungry. We're hungry. Let's all be hungry
- 8:58Speaker 1: together and go to a local place for lunch today.
- 9:02Speaker 1: I love you all right, man. Jake Thompson was good
- 9:06Speaker 1: on this Insider. We taught Terrence Metcalf. I can remember
- 9:11Speaker 1: when Tubberville beat out Cheryl and Cheryl won a lot
- 9:14Speaker 1: of battles, but Tuberville beat out Cheryl for Metcalf Clarkstille, Mississippi.
- 9:21Speaker 1: They both had some players out of Clark, Mariohagen, damn
- 9:26Speaker 1: Nations for Mississippi State Linebacker crew. You need a Mario Haagen.
- 9:30Speaker 1: You talking about the player. He wasn't fast, but that
- 9:33Speaker 1: guy was always around the ball crazy, Like you know,
- 9:37Speaker 1: Jerry Rice never broke a sub four six forty, but
- 9:40Speaker 1: was always running past people. I don't understand. We get
- 9:43Speaker 1: all into four three eight forties back in a second.
- 10:15Speaker 1: Oh wow, good morning. Out of bounds. Jackson Meadows is
- 10:21Speaker 1: wearing the Tito's hat. I like it. That's one of
- 10:24Speaker 1: the They have good looking stuff left and right. Those
- 10:27Speaker 1: two hats go to listeners over there on the right,
- 10:29Speaker 1: those are cool looking. I love that patch. But you
- 10:31Speaker 1: got a good looking one on too. You like that lid,
- 10:35Speaker 1: don't you know? I really like the lid man. You
- 10:37Speaker 1: know it's got that uh it's got that weather proofed
- 10:40Speaker 1: material that drive HiT's that's right, it's a nice uh.
- 10:44Speaker 2: Well.
- 10:44Speaker 1: With all the working out that you're doing, right, ye sweat, yeah,
- 10:48Speaker 1: I mean I'm you know, I'm putting the work in.
- 10:50Speaker 1: You are, and uh that's brought to you by Grit
- 10:52Speaker 1: Fitness and Training. You're still supposed to go do something there.
- 10:55Speaker 1: I don't remember what Mandy and I were talking about.
- 10:59Speaker 1: But you you don't even have to do a full workout,
- 11:01Speaker 1: even if you would just do like fifteen or twenty minutes. Yeah,
- 11:04Speaker 1: I'm an throw up at eight. That'd be awesome. May
- 11:07Speaker 1: be great. Grit Fitness and Training, Lakeland Drive, I mean
- 11:12Speaker 1: indoor batting cages, Hello, Baseball Softball World Series Champ. Jay Powell,
- 11:20Speaker 1: director of Baseball Operations, monthly memberships, they do all the classes.
- 11:26Speaker 1: Mandy does a great job. Grit Fitness and Training Flowwood
- 11:30Speaker 1: Lakeland Drive right behind ergon Mirror Lake are just about
- 11:35Speaker 1: you know where I'm talking about, though, because Flowood's pretty
- 11:38Speaker 1: big and so Grit Fitness and Training where Jake Mangham,
- 11:45Speaker 1: a guy named Connor Griffin and JT. Gin and Tanner
- 11:49Speaker 1: Allen among others work out. They've totally renovated the facility.
- 11:57Speaker 1: Indoor turf, indoor pitching mounds, indoor batter cages plus outdoor
- 12:01Speaker 1: t urf DA DA da da da, and then they
- 12:04Speaker 1: got all the classes and I look, I've been in
- 12:10Speaker 1: there when Connor Griffin was working out, and that dude
- 12:14Speaker 1: locked in is locked in. And you know, Jay Powell
- 12:18Speaker 1: made the comment that when Jake Mangham goes in to
- 12:21Speaker 1: Grit Fitness and Training in the well, there is no
- 12:24Speaker 1: off season. But when he's here, he's locked in. Yeah,
- 12:28Speaker 1: he's not there to visit, he's there to train. So
- 12:32Speaker 1: you think Jake May or Jay made their me like
- 12:35Speaker 1: some BP or something. Yes, you think I take it yard? No, okay,
- 12:40Speaker 1: you think I hit it? Yes, I think you can
- 12:43Speaker 1: make contact. I don't know about how many line drives
- 12:47Speaker 1: you're gonna get clost. I mean Jay has been working out,
- 12:52Speaker 1: is huge, Jack, He's problem. He's not only Director of
- 12:55Speaker 1: Baseball opps AE Grit Fitness and Training. He's been working
- 12:58Speaker 1: out looks like the strength and conditioning coach. It's big,
- 13:02Speaker 1: no doubt. All right, I got it, man, I knew
- 13:04Speaker 1: he was tall, but I know he'll swow. I know, Dick.
- 13:09Speaker 1: I know the MSU Baseball players better get it, get
- 13:12Speaker 1: after in the weight room from now through February, because
- 13:17Speaker 1: you know Jay is the MSU Baseball color analyst too. Well,
- 13:21Speaker 1: he's also coaching some players right now up in the Cape.
- 13:24Speaker 1: So there. I've seen the pictures and and I don't
- 13:27Speaker 1: know when Jay gets back from the Cape, but I
- 13:31Speaker 1: know he enjoyed it. The last couple of years and
- 13:33Speaker 1: up there like four to six weeks or something. Is
- 13:37Speaker 1: where'd I want to go with this? Oh? Guys trips?
- 13:41Speaker 1: You ready? I'm ready? All right? So uh so you
- 13:46Speaker 1: got the you got bachelor parties, and then you've got
- 13:48Speaker 1: guys trips, all right, and and a lot of bachelor
- 13:54Speaker 1: parties are a ton of fun. Guys trips should be great, right,
- 13:58Speaker 1: But what happens when and you have the guy that
- 14:02Speaker 1: never cleans up, like when you go on the guys trips?
- 14:09Speaker 1: All right? What about selective tab guy picks up the
- 14:14Speaker 1: check sometimes strategically when it makes him look good. One
- 14:19Speaker 1: thing you can't have is split checks. Guy, you just
- 14:22Speaker 1: got to throw cards. You're on a guys trip, you
- 14:24Speaker 1: throw Now, if someone at the table is ordering a
- 14:27Speaker 1: bunch of orange swift wine or a bunch of big wine,
- 14:31Speaker 1: and they then you what, first of all, that person
- 14:34Speaker 1: should know I'm getting the wine if you're drinking most
- 14:37Speaker 1: of it, right, or if you're at the table and
- 14:40Speaker 1: you're not drinking wine, there's a little bit different thing.
- 14:43Speaker 1: But ninety something percent of the time you're just throwing cards, right,
- 14:47Speaker 1: That's that's the deec should be. What about the elite
- 14:50Speaker 1: moucher never pays, always has an excuse somehow still invited.
- 14:55Speaker 1: Do you know a guy like that? A bunch of them? Okay,
- 14:58Speaker 1: elite moucher, that's not what you want to be. Now,
- 15:02Speaker 1: all right, we're talking guys trips and bachelor parties.
- 15:05Speaker 2: All right?
- 15:05Speaker 1: What about this kicks in extra guy. That's the unsung
- 15:10Speaker 1: hero who throws in extra every single of it. Guys
- 15:15Speaker 1: love it. Kick in Extra guy. He's the Foxhole guy. Yeah,
- 15:20Speaker 1: he's the guy. And then you have the guy every
- 15:25Speaker 1: now and then who just picks up the whole check. Yeah. Yeah,
- 15:30Speaker 1: So we had a Christmas get together and I don't
- 15:34Speaker 1: know how many of us, it was eight nine, ten.
- 15:39Speaker 1: Dude didn't even say anything. Now this is this is
- 15:44Speaker 1: this is elite stuff. Picked up the tab. I mean
- 15:47Speaker 1: it was I don't know what it was, two grand,
- 15:50Speaker 1: way out of my budget. Well me the quest alright, said,
- 15:56Speaker 1: this is the question I have is at what point
- 15:57Speaker 1: do you get Do you have like that friend that's
- 15:59Speaker 1: done really really, really really well. This guy's made a
- 16:03Speaker 1: fortune and also enjoys buying dinner first friends every now
- 16:07Speaker 1: and then, see, I mean when it's like that, I
- 16:08Speaker 1: mean they you know, they guy's picking up the cha
- 16:10Speaker 1: there's no splits, no, and not that it and he
- 16:14Speaker 1: was cool and everybody just said thank you and moved
- 16:17Speaker 1: on and that's all he wanted. And that's it. That's
- 16:19Speaker 1: the way it should be. Yeah. Now, if you get
- 16:21Speaker 1: the like big time money, you should pay for all
- 16:23Speaker 1: of them, a big time money, okay, like bebby if
- 16:27Speaker 1: you got it like that. Yeah, and your homies, I mean,
- 16:30Speaker 1: you got to feed the homies. I'm with you, Okay,
- 16:33Speaker 1: I'm with you. I don't know what that number is,
- 16:34Speaker 1: but that's a great wells different for everybody. Absolutely, everybody's
- 16:39Speaker 1: numbers different, as it should be. Textas are you the
- 16:42Speaker 1: moocher or do you know one? On the Dancing Rabbit
- 16:46Speaker 1: golf text line, if I get a good story, you're
- 16:48Speaker 1: winning a swag bag. If I get a good story,
- 16:52Speaker 1: you are winning a swag bag. I'll give away two, three, four, whatever.
- 16:56Speaker 1: It doesn't matter to me. We've got so much s
- 16:59Speaker 1: balone tekilis uh, it's insane. But are you the moocher
- 17:05Speaker 1: or do you know one? Six oh one, eight, eight, five, three, seven,
- 17:09Speaker 1: seven six, or you can rate yourself from one to
- 17:13Speaker 1: ten on the split checks guy scale. Yeah, all right?
- 17:20Speaker 1: Or you can you can describe yourself you like you
- 17:23Speaker 1: can text in your own guy archetype. Yeah, is that fair?
- 17:28Speaker 1: Like that? Here's here's who I am. But here's who
- 17:30Speaker 1: maybe someone else in the group is, right, Okay, the moacher,
- 17:35Speaker 1: he may, he may facilitate a few of those roles.
- 17:39Speaker 1: That's a that's a good point. Be a blend. That's right.
- 17:43Speaker 1: He's versatile sometimes highly not in a good way, right,
- 17:46Speaker 1: but he's versatile highly. Yeah. The elite moucher and ow
- 17:49Speaker 1: the mooch. Yeah, now if you've got an elite moucher.
- 17:53Speaker 1: But they do a lot of other things. Oh, they
- 17:54Speaker 1: got to overcompensate elsewhere there there's something like they know
- 17:58Speaker 1: so they cook. Let's say you cook one night, you
- 18:02Speaker 1: cook a bunch of steaks and lobster. Whatever the hell
- 18:05Speaker 1: you're doing. Guys, let's say he cleans up every day
- 18:07Speaker 1: every day on the trip. All right, I get behind that.
- 18:11Speaker 1: I can too. That's different. I can seth because some
- 18:14Speaker 1: people have to be scholarship for whatever reason, especially if
- 18:19Speaker 1: you love them and they love the group back, and
- 18:21Speaker 1: they do things like that. Absolutely cool keeps you I mean,
- 18:25Speaker 1: they're the guy that packs the cooler. Yes, just a
- 18:27Speaker 1: little for as you get older, little things go a
- 18:32Speaker 1: long long way. You talk about it. Are the guy
- 18:36Speaker 1: that's making Bloody Mary's on Saturday morning. Hey, I'll take
- 18:39Speaker 1: care of it. I'm gonna do the bacon. I'm gonna
- 18:41Speaker 1: get the I'm gonna get the pickled okra and the
- 18:44Speaker 1: and the pickled green beans. I'm gonna have the Tito's
- 18:47Speaker 1: Bloody Mary Bar for everybody. We got game day on.
- 18:50Speaker 1: I want to do this for good. They carved themselves
- 18:53Speaker 1: out in the steaks and they hit it right and
- 18:55Speaker 1: then they stay right. Then they cook you like ridiculous
- 18:59Speaker 1: wings or something late in the afternoon on the on
- 19:02Speaker 1: the third or fourth game of the day into gruel right.
- 19:05Speaker 1: I want to hear from you on the Dancing Rabbit
- 19:07Speaker 1: Golf text line six oh one eight eight five three
- 19:14Speaker 1: seven seven six. The Out of Bounds Show is brought
- 19:18Speaker 1: to you by the Wings an ice cold stell Artois
- 19:22Speaker 1: at Martin's and Livingston. Joseph Stodgel. We need some wings
- 19:27Speaker 1: in studio. Brother. We'll be back in a second. If
- 20:13Speaker 1: you smart, you're gonna pick somebody. This three hundred pounds.
- 20:16Speaker 1: The smell like baking this rid to come up to
- 20:17Speaker 1: me because we need to beep of the blind. We
- 20:23Speaker 1: are the out of Bound show ESPN one oh five
- 20:27Speaker 1: nine of the Zone Summer Fun, Some are Loving Talking
- 20:31Speaker 1: twenty twenty six sec football mixing in guys, trips, bachelor parties.
- 20:38Speaker 1: Now we've got a good topic on the text line
- 20:41Speaker 1: dancing Rabbit golf text line six oh one eight eight
- 20:45Speaker 1: five three seven seven six So Diesel Golfer says, I'm
- 20:54Speaker 1: at backwater with my wife, kids and brother in law.
- 20:57Speaker 1: A couple of weeks ago saw it. Childhood friend of
- 21:01Speaker 1: mine went over, taught to him and his family. He
- 21:05Speaker 1: ordered us a drink, and I went to eat with
- 21:07Speaker 1: my family. When I got ready for the check, the
- 21:10Speaker 1: waitress told me Chris got yours. It wasn't cheap either.
- 21:16Speaker 1: He was already gone, but picked up the tab. He's
- 21:19Speaker 1: a dude. Yeah, that is a dude move, no doubt,
- 21:23Speaker 1: no doubt, that's an elite dude move. Absolutely. Will h says, See,
- 21:29Speaker 1: I'm an elite moocher, but for the benefit of everyone
- 21:33Speaker 1: when we're on the trip, we're getting something at a discount,
- 21:37Speaker 1: free something. I mean, I'm such a mooch. I'm sitting
- 21:41Speaker 1: at work texting the radio station trying to get something free.
- 21:44Speaker 1: Nothing wrong with that. Good point, Hey, bo, I have
- 21:49Speaker 1: a group of friends that everyone you described, there's at
- 21:52Speaker 1: least one of each that you have described in the group.
- 21:56Speaker 1: I'm normally the pick up the tab guy or pay
- 22:00Speaker 1: the tab guy, but the moocher always comes in and
- 22:04Speaker 1: eats a lot but also tells the most lies. Yeah
- 22:07Speaker 1: it's pretty good, but he's usually an entertainer. Yeah, yeah,
- 22:11Speaker 1: that's true. Okay. Yeah, so this all stemmed from I mean,
- 22:18Speaker 1: it's a big time of year for guys strips. I
- 22:20Speaker 1: know it's year round, but this is a big time
- 22:22Speaker 1: of year for guys strips. Yeah, and we're going on ours.
- 22:27Speaker 1: I don't sept week zero. We've been doing it in October.
- 22:31Speaker 1: I like that better, but couldn't figure out the schedule,
- 22:36Speaker 1: which is rare. But week zero will be final. It'll
- 22:39Speaker 1: be hot as hell, but I mean cocktails and good
- 22:42Speaker 1: food and lots of war stories from a bunch of
- 22:45Speaker 1: guys who've been together since first grade. So that's kind
- 22:48Speaker 1: of cool. Yeah. And like I said, we've never done
- 22:51Speaker 1: anything on the trip, and I'm very proud of that.
- 22:53Speaker 1: There's not been one round of golf, one tennis match,
- 22:56Speaker 1: or one pickleball game. I don't even know if we've
- 23:00Speaker 1: done anything out on the beach with like a paddle
- 23:04Speaker 1: Ball's be through that. We have two guys, Chad and Jeff,
- 23:07Speaker 1: that I think they would be the most prone to
- 23:12Speaker 1: to do something. They're more games guys. They play golf,
- 23:17Speaker 1: Norris plays a ton of tennis, you know. But they
- 23:22Speaker 1: seem to be just fine when we get there and
- 23:24Speaker 1: we just walk out to the beach and get under
- 23:25Speaker 1: the umbrella and everybody's having their cold beverage of choice.
- 23:30Speaker 1: But yeah, we had to move it up to week
- 23:31Speaker 1: zero that there's actually some powerfour games. Yes, not bad.
- 23:36Speaker 1: I mean, hell, several will have some action on the
- 23:40Speaker 1: games and so on and so forth. But this started
- 23:43Speaker 1: with with guys trips kind of bachelor parties. But the
- 23:49Speaker 1: never clean up guy, selective tab guy, the guy that
- 23:54Speaker 1: you know, short art can't can't go back to the
- 23:56Speaker 1: back pocket or the front pocket to get the wallet,
- 24:00Speaker 1: split checks guy, Let me see the let me see
- 24:02Speaker 1: the bill, let's break it down. Come on, here we go.
- 24:05Speaker 1: I think I had some lettuce and a side of mushrooms.
- 24:11Speaker 1: What the hell are we doing here? We're at a steakhouse.
- 24:13Speaker 1: We just ran up a tab for twenty four hundred bucks.
- 24:15Speaker 1: He ain't coming back, all right. I don't have any
- 24:17Speaker 1: of those dudes. By the way, isn't that crazy? We
- 24:20Speaker 1: do not have an elite moucher in our group. That
- 24:22Speaker 1: is pretty not even close convenient. Nobody care. People are
- 24:26Speaker 1: grabbing stuff paying for Okay, I'll get whatever. The elite
- 24:31Speaker 1: moucher that's another one, and then kicks in extra guy.
- 24:34Speaker 1: That's the guy who picks up the tab and or
- 24:37Speaker 1: covers a large chunk of it. So let's go back
- 24:39Speaker 1: to the dancing rabbit golf text line. Both slightly different topic.
- 24:46Speaker 1: Destination weddings. Okay, we've all been invited to those, all right,
- 24:50Speaker 1: you're and it's even more so now than when I was.
- 24:54Speaker 1: It's been too long since I was young. We actually
- 24:56Speaker 1: had normal weddings basically from Atlanta to Dallas. Now people
- 25:00Speaker 1: are going to you know, Saint Lucia Yard Nuts. But anyway,
- 25:08Speaker 1: slightly different, all right, So destination weddings, you're invited out
- 25:11Speaker 1: of the country, all right, So who covers what hotel, flight,
- 25:17Speaker 1: et cetera. You're in the wedding, okay, So if you're
- 25:20Speaker 1: in the wedding, that's way different. And it's out of
- 25:23Speaker 1: the country. You're dealing with one or both families have resources,
- 25:29Speaker 1: so I would think everything's picked up except possibly your airfare.
- 25:34Speaker 1: All right, so I and I'd be good with that.
- 25:36Speaker 1: I mean got it. If they're gonna put you up
- 25:38Speaker 1: and feed you the whole time, great, I'll pay for
- 25:41Speaker 1: the flight, or you just don't need to go right now.
- 25:43Speaker 1: Some are going to pick up everything, okay, fine, but
- 25:47Speaker 1: I don't think if you're in it, you're gonna pay
- 25:50Speaker 1: for everything. You're not gonna pay for your flight. You're
- 25:51Speaker 1: lodging in, you know, food and booze other than the wedding. Now,
- 25:55Speaker 1: the one thing when you go in you've got several
- 25:58Speaker 1: different things going on where the food and booze is
- 26:00Speaker 1: taken care of, night before day of whatever. I mean, hell,
- 26:06Speaker 1: I thought it was a big deal. In nineteen ninety six,
- 26:08Speaker 1: when the buddy of mine got married, they rented out
- 26:10Speaker 1: of steakhouse for one of the most pre eminent steakhouses
- 26:13Speaker 1: in the metro area for lunch. Let's go for forty people.
- 26:20Speaker 1: I was like, that's big living. That is okay, that's
- 26:24Speaker 1: that's a different I mean we're having cocktails and wine
- 26:28Speaker 1: and at noon. I mean, I know people do that
- 26:32Speaker 1: on wedding weekends, but at a steakhouse they rent out
- 26:35Speaker 1: the whole steakhouse. It's pretty tired. Yeah, I mean that's
- 26:39Speaker 1: a bill. Yeah right, yeah, that's a bill. Lee Dog says,
- 26:48Speaker 1: my buddy is that I got to go to the
- 26:50Speaker 1: bathroom right before the check comes guy? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 26:55Speaker 1: that's sometimes that guy's got to get caught eventually. But
- 26:59Speaker 1: I mean sometimes it's just the guy that can somehow
- 27:02Speaker 1: be that guy for the whole long run of guys'
- 27:08Speaker 1: trips and friendships. Yeah, drug Dog, here's my story, Miss
- 27:15Speaker 1: drug Dog, and I like to go to mcbee's frequently.
- 27:19Speaker 1: Occasionally one of her students parents will see her at
- 27:22Speaker 1: mcbee's almost all the time. They will pick up our
- 27:25Speaker 1: tab without us knowing. Very cool, moved by the peah,
- 27:27Speaker 1: that's cool. That is cool. That is And they may
- 27:30Speaker 1: be trying to get a bump in grades, and I'm
- 27:32Speaker 1: okay with that. Give me the bumps. Just like recruiting
- 27:35Speaker 1: under the table money, you know, get influenced somewhere. Yeah,
- 27:39Speaker 1: I mean, uh, you have an eighty eight and all
- 27:41Speaker 1: of a sudden your kids got a ninety two. Wow,
- 27:46Speaker 1: you know, be doing they right? Weren't you?
- 27:50Speaker 2: Was?
- 27:50Speaker 1: You were a star student? Now what was it called star?
- 27:53Speaker 1: What the Clarion led Star student? Clarion Ledger star student?
- 27:57Speaker 1: Was that your junior or senior year? Okay? Top twelve
- 28:00Speaker 1: in the state? Okay, one of only twelve four point zero?
- 28:06Speaker 1: No no, no, no no. We were three seven is in
- 28:08Speaker 1: high school, three three in college something like that. All right,
- 28:11Speaker 1: So you had a three seven gpa in high school?
- 28:14Speaker 1: Is this the combo of Clinton and Mount Salens? Okay?
- 28:17Speaker 1: Where you named this at Clinton? Or Mount Salis? Mount Salas? Okay?
- 28:21Speaker 1: We never got into Clinton. Oh and you were so
- 28:25Speaker 1: you were a Clarion Ledger Star student. Do they still
- 28:28Speaker 1: do that? I don't know. That's a good question. I'd
- 28:31Speaker 1: like to know if any of our listeners were a
- 28:33Speaker 1: Clarion Ledger Star student or your kid the text line
- 28:37Speaker 1: six oh one eight eight five three seven seven six.
- 28:41Speaker 1: How'd you find out? I was told my school one
- 28:45Speaker 1: of my school counselors. She told me, okay, that would
- 28:47Speaker 1: helped me get in after the whoopsie. Okay, that's what
- 28:51Speaker 1: we'll call it. All right, So how many how many
- 28:55Speaker 1: weeks in your senior year did you go from from
- 28:59Speaker 1: Clinton Mount Saless who three okay, yeah, okay, good deal?
- 29:03Speaker 1: Trans in Clinton Clinton, Yeah, you transformed transformed the school
- 29:08Speaker 1: with Clinton. Did you how many students did you How
- 29:11Speaker 1: many people did you have in your grade? Roughly just
- 29:13Speaker 1: give or take three hundred plus? Yeah? How many people
- 29:17Speaker 1: did you have in your grade at Mount Selis outside
- 29:19Speaker 1: of the people who came over for undisclosed reasons? Sixteen? Okay?
- 29:24Speaker 1: Was that just wild, sir? To be in a place
- 29:27Speaker 1: with three hundred plus students in a grade moving class
- 29:31Speaker 1: to class. So the buildings, you know, full hallways and
- 29:34Speaker 1: stuff were full, right to going to a school with
- 29:38Speaker 1: sixteen kids that graduate. Our teachers moved to class, they
- 29:42Speaker 1: would just switch out. Yeah, I mean, and then you
- 29:44Speaker 1: know we also had a trailer we were in for
- 29:46Speaker 1: home room. You know, we rented out of church. It
- 29:49Speaker 1: was a lot different, a lot different. That's a six
- 29:51Speaker 1: a public or seven a public now to single a
- 29:54Speaker 1: private school? Right the difference? Right, should have gotten kicked
- 29:58Speaker 1: out a lot earlier because you liked it. Loved it, okay,
- 30:02Speaker 1: loved it had all that had everything I needed from
- 30:04Speaker 1: public school, which I'm a firm a believer in public schools. Sure,
- 30:07Speaker 1: I think they I like both. I'm a believer in
- 30:09Speaker 1: public schools. I'm a believer in m A I s
- 30:11Speaker 1: no doubt, and I'm a believer in choice. Yes, very much.
- 30:15Speaker 1: So you you you know you want to send your
- 30:17Speaker 1: kids to a private school. Great public school. Great. I'm
- 30:20Speaker 1: for all the other hybrids too. Yeah, I mean that's
- 30:23Speaker 1: you know. It was a and then the sports. So
- 30:25Speaker 1: you were a Claren Ledger star student with a three
- 30:27Speaker 1: seven gpa of course, okay, didn't need a four. That's
- 30:31Speaker 1: where the sports and all the accolades kicked in. Okay,
- 30:35Speaker 1: so the bit you didn't have to have a four
- 30:37Speaker 1: point No, Okay, it wasn't that. Like the counselor that
- 30:41Speaker 1: you're talking about who took the call, It's not like
- 30:45Speaker 1: she lobbied to get the criteria change for you. No,
- 30:48Speaker 1: I just think she lobbied to get me the award.
- 30:50Speaker 1: Good for her. Well that's what they're there for, exactly.
- 30:54Speaker 1: Those that are doing a good job as announcers or
- 30:56Speaker 1: whatever you call them, are are lobby for their kids.
- 31:00Speaker 1: Should be one thousand percent. Well you should be. Yeah, yeah,
- 31:05Speaker 1: it makes sense. Yeah, they were like twelve of us. Yeah,
- 31:08Speaker 1: actually we ended up putting two from mount Sales in there. Really.
- 31:11Speaker 1: The other one had four, like a four point one
- 31:12Speaker 1: five and he was real smart, top of his class
- 31:15Speaker 1: and Mississippi State chemical engineering. Yeah. I only walked to
- 31:21Speaker 1: the chemical engineering building to go to the restroom. Had
- 31:25Speaker 1: no idea what it was. I knew there was no way.
- 31:29Speaker 1: Now I have friends who are engineers, yes, and they
- 31:34Speaker 1: don't even know what a recession is. And they've moved away,
- 31:38Speaker 1: but you know, out of school, but they've done extraordinarily well.
- 31:42Speaker 1: Coming out of the Bagley College of Engineering's ridiculous in
- 31:45Speaker 1: that place. I mean when you get a biomedical engineering degree,
- 31:48Speaker 1: nuclear engineering degree, aerospace, biochemical chemicals, I mean the tickets written.
- 31:54Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 31:56Speaker 1: In fact, one guy just gave twenty million dollars Mississippi State.
- 31:58Speaker 1: He was in school with me, and he's younger. It
- 32:01Speaker 1: makes me think, damn, I haven't accomplished anything. But when
- 32:04Speaker 1: you live in Dubai in Nashville, pretty good gig probably
- 32:08Speaker 1: doing What did you do? He exited an energy company, boom.
- 32:12Speaker 1: Everybody gets rich off of exits. Where's my exit? Well,
- 32:16Speaker 1: we've got to figure it out. Yeah, I just could
- 32:18Speaker 1: put it. I'll figure it out. It'll come to you
- 32:21Speaker 1: and maybe it gets figured out on the gastrip. That's
- 32:24Speaker 1: a maybe I can mooch my way there. Right, So
- 32:27Speaker 1: do you put elite moucher on your LinkedIn account? Brad
- 32:31Speaker 1: wants to know on the text line you gotta. I
- 32:35Speaker 1: mean it's a little because it's it's a negative. There's
- 32:39Speaker 1: a negative connotation, but there could be a pot there is.
- 32:41Speaker 1: You know, you could make it positive. You just gotta
- 32:44Speaker 1: do it right. You gotta do it real, right, Okay, Okay,
- 32:48Speaker 1: you're gonna have to overcome and say you're gonna have
- 32:50Speaker 1: to clean I mean right, no, no, no, the elite
- 32:53Speaker 1: moucher has to be the number one cleaner in the group.
- 32:56Speaker 1: We already established that. That's just and there's another ten
- 32:59Speaker 1: some other things, you know, like I said, yeah, carrying
- 33:03Speaker 1: the coolers, carrying the cooler to the beam, and probably
- 33:06Speaker 1: setting up the Tito's Bloody Mary bar on the first morning.
- 33:10Speaker 1: I mean, there's some things there. I mean, if it's
- 33:13Speaker 1: you know, making dinner reservations, yes, in the chair, if
- 33:17Speaker 1: it depends on if you're written chairs or chair you
- 33:19Speaker 1: should wrint chairs. I mean I'm not God, pay the
- 33:21Speaker 1: money and be done with that exactly. But if you don't,
- 33:24Speaker 1: then that guy should be hauling all this stuff. That
- 33:28Speaker 1: don't even get me started. Is the elite movetion? Does
- 33:30Speaker 1: you pitch in for where you're staying? Because I mean,
- 33:37Speaker 1: well it depends on if a friend of yours has
- 33:40Speaker 1: a spot and or if y'all all rent every year, right,
- 33:44Speaker 1: So this this plays two different ways. Yeah, I mean,
- 33:51Speaker 1: now that I think about it, my group is scholarships.
- 33:54Speaker 1: Because one guy has a plane and one guy has
- 33:56Speaker 1: a beach out. Yeah, that counts scholarship. So I guess
- 33:59Speaker 1: the other four of us are moochers. I mean, but sure,
- 34:04Speaker 1: I don't know if we're elite moucher. No, think about that. No,
- 34:11Speaker 1: I don't think so, No you're not. But guy, we've
- 34:13Speaker 1: got a great set up. So that's a good that's
- 34:16Speaker 1: a good question. I mean the guy, I mean, yeah,
- 34:20Speaker 1: what's what's the what's the one where you go really
- 34:24Speaker 1: out of all of them, never cleans up guy, selective
- 34:27Speaker 1: tab guy, split checks guy elite moocher and then of
- 34:31Speaker 1: course kicks in extra guys all the fame it's split
- 34:34Speaker 1: split check. I agree, it's because I mean, you just
- 34:36Speaker 1: don't want to do that. No, And I'm not gonna
- 34:38Speaker 1: and if you do that, that will be my verbal
- 34:39Speaker 1: That's exactly what I'll say. Come on, man, right, what
- 34:42Speaker 1: are we doing here? Right? Why don't do that? Because
- 34:45Speaker 1: I mean, how much longer that takes for the servers
- 34:50Speaker 1: while they sit there and divvy it up? Well, think
- 34:52Speaker 1: about how many times that's done it? Much every day
- 34:55Speaker 1: around the country, you know, and over a thirty don't.
- 35:00Speaker 1: When I was at case Rah before bartending, I was
- 35:03Speaker 1: waiting tables and that's a split check's lunch place, no doubt, okay.
- 35:09Speaker 1: And because people will people will just throw cards at
- 35:13Speaker 1: night at dinner, Sure, at lunch, it's just a different
- 35:19Speaker 1: vibe when I tell you you'd get a table for
- 35:22Speaker 1: eight and you're in hell. Because we were so busy,
- 35:31Speaker 1: there was no doubt, which was great. I don't want
- 35:33Speaker 1: to be in a restaurant where you're sitting there, but
- 35:35Speaker 1: I mean, starting at eleven am to one pm, if
- 35:39Speaker 1: not longer every day. Of course, the cash was the
- 35:42Speaker 1: mid if was staying hopefully asking everybody to leave, getting
- 35:47Speaker 1: cut and staying and working from one to five. You
- 35:50Speaker 1: can pick up another and this was good money in
- 35:52Speaker 1: nineteen ninety six, pick up another three hundred bucks. But
- 35:58Speaker 1: what's my point. Oh yeah, split check at lunch talking
- 36:01Speaker 1: about getting bogged down. Oh my god, Holy Mary, OL's
- 36:05Speaker 1: over some literally over like nine twelve dollars. Ridiculous. Sean
- 36:09Speaker 1: has a good story on the on the text line, Okay,
- 36:13Speaker 1: is this on the guys trip or some high school teammates? Yes? Right,
- 36:18Speaker 1: Dancing rabbit golf text line. Went on a guy's trip
- 36:21Speaker 1: with some high school classmates in our late twenties. About
- 36:25Speaker 1: eight of us flew out of Monroe, Louisiana, to Vegas
- 36:28Speaker 1: on Delta State at MGM. Grand elite moocher didn't pitch in.
- 36:34Speaker 1: Even worse, I collected chips as souvenirs from a dozen
- 36:39Speaker 1: or so casinos, which all casinos will take. He took
- 36:43Speaker 1: all those and cashed in from our room when we
- 36:46Speaker 1: separated one night. Oh my gosh, we're fighting at the MGM.
- 36:51Speaker 1: That guy's gotta be out. Well, there are elite moochers
- 36:56Speaker 1: who can stay in and be scholarship because they're just
- 36:59Speaker 1: good dudes, like and we mentioned all the other things
- 37:01Speaker 1: that they could do on the trip. What the hell
- 37:04Speaker 1: is this? Well, this is unacceptable. It is how do
- 37:08Speaker 1: you look at yourself in the mirror? There's only one
- 37:10Speaker 1: way is if you go down there and put it
- 37:12Speaker 1: on black and you hit, But then you got to
- 37:14Speaker 1: give your buddy. You got to make sure to give
- 37:17Speaker 1: your buddy get his profit. Yeah, that's probably a seventy
- 37:20Speaker 1: thirty split. You get thirty, no question your money, no
- 37:24Speaker 1: question about it. I mean you know that I've been
- 37:27Speaker 1: on a roll lately of people picking up checks.
- 37:30Speaker 2: Nice.
- 37:30Speaker 1: It's been good for me. I have two kids. Well,
- 37:33Speaker 1: Ela Hall's now out of college, but just out of
- 37:36Speaker 1: college in May. I've been on a roll. I mean,
- 37:41Speaker 1: and I need it. Yeah, I don't know what it is.
- 37:44Speaker 1: But last week, yeah, the week before and one other.
- 37:52Speaker 1: So I've been doing pretty good because I mean when
- 37:55Speaker 1: my kids now would go out to dinner, it's outrageous, right,
- 37:59Speaker 1: oh god, it went from you know easy? Is that?
- 38:05Speaker 1: No way?
- 38:08Speaker 2: Good?
- 38:09Speaker 1: Dude? You don't understand it's I'll tell you what Washington
- 38:14Speaker 1: d C. I mean, once everybody gets a drink and
- 38:18Speaker 1: just an appetizer, you're at four hundred bucks, don't It's crazy? Yeah? Yeah,
- 38:25Speaker 1: I mean cocktails, one round of cocktails and a couple appetizers.
- 38:29Speaker 1: All right, we're at four hundred all right, nobody else
- 38:31Speaker 1: eats anything else that's all you're getting. Let's see. I
- 38:39Speaker 1: like it. Oh, I like where Ronnie's going. I don't
- 38:42Speaker 1: know if we have enough time, but we got about
- 38:44Speaker 1: five minutes. I'll switch gears on this, all right. Ronnie
- 38:47Speaker 1: wants to get back in the Mississippi State football on
- 38:49Speaker 1: the out of bounds show bo Levy won't make it
- 38:53Speaker 1: back after this season if improvement isn't made, but State
- 38:58Speaker 1: will be in the same spot because they will never
- 39:00Speaker 1: go all in. Well, there there's a lot to unpack there.
- 39:06Speaker 1: Levy is on the hot seat. I don't know what
- 39:09Speaker 1: he has to win. Six or seven. Six is almost sad,
- 39:12Speaker 1: but whatever, they'll make that decision on campus. I think
- 39:16Speaker 1: you'll hemorrhage season ticket holders again if you do that.
- 39:20Speaker 1: But there is a path to six and possibly seven again.
- 39:27Speaker 1: There are several coaches that could get there with this roster,
- 39:33Speaker 1: you know, the all in thing. Yeah, no, that's a
- 39:35Speaker 1: that's a great You were one of these schools that
- 39:38Speaker 1: were slow to embrace in il and the portal, and
- 39:46Speaker 1: I could have predicted this that Ole miss would jump
- 39:48Speaker 1: right on it and that Mississippi State would pearl clutch.
- 39:52Speaker 1: You're trying to make and you know your coach passed away.
- 39:55Speaker 1: You're trying to make up for it. You know, you've
- 39:58Speaker 1: got almost thirty million in this rock. This year, Levy's
- 40:02Speaker 1: hired eighty people in the building, so you've got it's
- 40:07Speaker 1: not about staffing, it's not about money. Since he's gotten there,
- 40:10Speaker 1: he had plenty year one. I mean, Indiana didn't have
- 40:15Speaker 1: eight million in their roster year one. Now last year
- 40:18Speaker 1: they had, they had more, but they still went to
- 40:20Speaker 1: college football playoff here one under Signetti. Year two, obviously
- 40:23Speaker 1: they won the national championship. But uh, as far as commitment,
- 40:30Speaker 1: you are going to have to do a lot more.
- 40:33Speaker 1: Not just fine. I'm talking about just will power, commitment, quotion.
- 40:39Speaker 1: It's not just but you've got the money, just like
- 40:41Speaker 1: Arkansas and South Carolina and Kentucky and held Big twelve
- 40:45Speaker 1: schools at the money. But yeah, you've you've missed on
- 40:50Speaker 1: the commitment piece. The hire is an absolute head scratcher.
- 40:54Speaker 1: Knowing what you knew, you know, what had played out,
- 40:58Speaker 1: that Morehead hadn't worked, that Leech had died, that you know,
- 41:01Speaker 1: Arnett never had a chance, so that none of that
- 41:03Speaker 1: was his fault. And then where you were and you
- 41:06Speaker 1: went right back to Morehead, resume is crazy pills. To me,
- 41:12Speaker 1: I thought, I'm surprised he's there now, you know, I
- 41:19Speaker 1: think it's a disservice to your to your fan base,
- 41:22Speaker 1: but also the fan base has to step up and
- 41:24Speaker 1: raise hell and want more. I think your bar's too low.
- 41:29Speaker 1: I read gens page and six pack and shake my head.
- 41:32Speaker 1: Too large a percentage of those posts are just passive
- 41:36Speaker 1: and mad and okay and still making excuses. I mean,
- 41:39Speaker 1: you got to be up and be a shrewd, bad
- 41:42Speaker 1: m effort in this league. If you want to win
- 41:45Speaker 1: in football, you either decided to be or you can
- 41:47Speaker 1: be seven and eighteen and one in fifteen. That's other
- 41:50Speaker 1: schools would not have done this, you know, they would
- 41:54Speaker 1: have not have gone down this path. So I understand
- 41:58Speaker 1: your first and I can't read a lot of what
- 42:01Speaker 1: the text have been the last few months from some
- 42:05Speaker 1: Mississippi State fans. But uh, I think you have to
- 42:08Speaker 1: demand more and you have to raise your expectations. And
- 42:12Speaker 1: until you do that, then you're not gonna get where
- 42:14Speaker 1: you want to go. But you've got to demand that
- 42:17Speaker 1: people be confident and locked in and do the things
- 42:21Speaker 1: that are necessary on campus to give you a football program.
- 42:24Speaker 1: That you did enjoy under Mullen and bled through just
- 42:27Speaker 1: because of the massive thing that he built into Morehead
- 42:31Speaker 1: and Leech at least appear to be doing that. He
- 42:34Speaker 1: ain't even doing that. You're hiding. Yeah, she again. Ole
