- 2:44Sunny mornings send you. In local news, Boston
- 2:50Marathon road closures will affect numerous streets
- 2:53this coming Monday, as city officials advise
- 2:55against driving during this busy event. Runners
- 2:59will be making their way toward the famous finish
- 3:01line on Boylston Street, leading to extensive
- 3:04road restrictions. No stopping will be allowed
- 3:07on Arlington Street, Beacon Street in Back Bay,
- 3:11Belviter Street, and several others. Residents
- 3:14and visitors are encouraged to utilize the MBTA
- 3:18or the Blue Bike system instead of driving. Be
- 3:22sure to plan ahead to avoid any inconvenience
- 3:24on Marathon Monday, a cherished day for Beantown.
- 3:32Now on to sports. Dozens of Chinese -made humanoid
- 3:37robots demonstrated their impressive athleticism
- 3:40and autonomous navigation skills. as they raced
- 3:44past human runners in a half marathon in Beijing
- 3:47on Sunday. This event showcased the rapid technical
- 3:51advances in humanoid robotics, with a smartphone
- 3:54maker, Honors Robot, setting a new world record.
- 3:58The number of participating teams surged from
- 4:0120 to over 100, and several robot frontrunners
- 4:04outpaced human winners by more than 10 minutes.
- 4:09Unlike last year, nearly half of the robot entrants
- 4:12navigated the challenging terrain autonomously
- 4:14during the 21 -kilometer race. In local sports,
- 4:19the Red Sox looked to salvage their series against
- 4:22Detroit this morning at 11 -10, with Sonny Gray
- 4:26facing the Tigers' Jack Flaherty. Boston dropped
- 4:31the first two at Fenway and sits 8 -13, so this
- 4:35one matters. Gray's been solid and needs to match
- 4:39Flaherty's pedigree in what could spark a turnaround
- 4:42for a lineup that's gone cold since sweeping
- 4:45St. Louis last week. Meanwhile, the Celtics are
- 4:50in complete control after a dominant Game 1 playoff
- 4:53victory over the 76ers, cruising 123 -91 at the
- 5:00Garden. Jason Tatum looked like Superman in his
- 5:04return, posting 25 points. 11 rebounds and 7
- 5:08assists. Jalen Brown led the way with 26 points
- 5:12on 11 for 21 shooting. Boston shot 50 % from
- 5:17the field and out -rebounded Philly convincingly.
- 5:21Game 2 is tomorrow night at 7. The Celtics are
- 5:24one win away from a 2 -0 stranglehold before
- 5:27heading to Philadelphia. The 76ers are reeling
- 5:32without Joel Embiid and couldn't generate enough
- 5:34offense. going just 4 for 23 from 3. On the ice,
- 5:40the Bruins face a must -win in Buffalo tomorrow
- 5:43night at 7 .30. They blew a 2 -0 lead with under
- 5:4710 minutes left in Game 1, losing 4 -3 in heartbreaking
- 5:52fashion. Jeremy Swayman was solid with 34 saves,
- 5:57but the late collapse stings. Boston needs to
- 6:01bounce back fast or face falling into an early
- 6:03hole against a hungry Sabres team in their first
- 6:07playoff run since 2011. In retirement, should
- 6:14you pay off your mortgage early or invest the
- 6:17extra money? Burns talked to economists and financial
- 6:21advisors to explain both sides of the debate.
- 6:25With mortgage rates hovering around 6%, homeowners
- 6:29may be tempted to make extra payments on their
- 6:31home mortgage instead of investing. Many money
- 6:35managers recommend investing heavily in stocks,
- 6:38which tend to outperform real estate over time.
- 6:42Bill Banfield, chief business officer at Rocket,
- 6:45found that more homeowners prefer to pay down
- 6:48their mortgage debt due to increased market volatility.
- 6:52He advises ensuring 6 to 18 months of emergency
- 6:55funds are available. and to tackle high -interest
- 6:58debt first. In business news, Air Canada will
- 7:04suspend service to New York's John F. Kennedy
- 7:07International Airport over the summer. The airline
- 7:10cites jet fuel shortages caused by the war in
- 7:13Iran, which have driven prices up. Service from
- 7:17Toronto and Montreal to JFK will cease on June
- 7:201 and resume on October 25. Flights to LaGuardia
- 7:25and Newark will continue. with 34 flights a day
- 7:28to those airports from six Canadian cities. Air
- 7:32Canada plans to contact affected customers with
- 7:34alternate travel options. Jet fuel prices have
- 7:38doubled since the start of the Iran conflict,
- 7:41reaching $4 per gallon, up from $2 before the
- 7:45war. In crypto movement, Bitcoin is unchanged
- 7:49over the weekend at about $74 ,000. Ethereum
- 7:54is down 2%. to about $2 ,000. And XRP is down
- 8:001 % to $1 .41. Moving on to a more local vibe.

- 9:03This meeting, which took place amid growing fears
- 9:06about the mythos model, suggests a path to rebuilding
- 9:10trust between the two sides. Concerns about the
- 9:13potential for cyberattacks have escalated, particularly
- 9:16within the banking industry, which is especially
- 9:19vulnerable due to legacy technology systems.
- 9:23Government officials from the United States,
- 9:25Canada, and Britain have met with banking leaders
- 9:28to address the threats posed by mythos. Treasury
- 9:33Secretary Scott Besant was involved in these
- 9:35discussions. And in entertainment news, the official
- 9:42title for the Spaceballs sequel is perfect. The
- 9:47search for more money is over, but the Schwartz
- 9:50still rises. At CinemaCon in Las Vegas, Amazon
- 9:54Metro -Goldwyn -Mayer revealed its slate of upcoming
- 9:57movies, chief among them the long -gestating
- 10:00Spaceballs sequel. In a pre -taped video presentation,
- 10:05comedy sage Mel Brooks revealed the title of
- 10:08the movie, explaining why it is not the title
- 10:11you thought it would be. Spaceballs 2. The search
- 10:15for more money is not going to be the title of
- 10:18this movie, Brooks stated. He added, Well, we
- 10:21did it, and the title is Space Falls, the new
- 10:25one. Well, all righty, folks, it's time for the
- 10:30quote of the day. And today, our quote comes
- 10:34from the American historian and author, David
- 10:36McCullough. And he said, history is who we are
- 10:41and why we are the way we are. And that's a wrap
