- 0:23It is time to leave your worries outside and join me Daniel Mallley, Trade
- 0:30Trendholme and Raj Sharma inside the Treehouse. Let's get stupid, and by stupid,
- 0:43I mean let's come off of our Treehouse Plus episode on patreon dot com
- 0:49slash Treehouse on air, where you can catch bonus episodes each week inside the
- 0:54Treehouse for a five dollars a month, to which you will get in exchange
- 0:58for your five dollars more stupid, or in the case of this week's Treehouse
- 1:06Plus episode, a Treehouse full of tears and laughter. It's an emotional episode
- 1:11like an eighties sitcom that got serious once per season. Oh yeah, and
- 1:19we all shed some tears, mostly Trey. And it turns out that in
- 1:26order to fight his depression, Trey decided to watch WrestleMania to feel better.
- 1:36Did it work because seeing you mentioned WrestleMania or Raj mentioned it right before we
- 1:42started, and you lit up. You lit up like the rock standing in
- 1:47the middle of the ring doing the eyebrow or sniffing the air or whatever.
- 1:52Like you lit up. Man, You're like, it's it's almost like you
- 1:55saw macho man. Randy Savage back from the dead. You kind of lit
- 1:59up doing your impression of the Rock just now, Well, the only thing
- 2:02I can do is the sniff. I can't do the independent eyebrow thing that
- 2:06that's about as good as I can get, and that's not exactly independent,
- 2:08that's still connected to the other side. Yeah, I watched I hadn't watched
- 2:14a WrestleMania in ages, like late nineties, early two thousand. I was
- 2:21all in, I raw, you know, any pay per view. I
- 2:25mean, they were just they were great. It was the name like Stone
- 2:30Cold and the Rock and the Undertaker, Triple h and and all these people,
- 2:34and yeah, it was just it was fun to watch. It was
- 2:36a great storyline, it was great writing. It was it was, you
- 2:38know, a soap opera with you know, athleticism thrown in and uh oh,
- 2:43I was just going to say men in underwear, but whatever, well
- 2:46okay, and uh but like Trey's like, you know, and I don't
- 2:50care what they were as long as as long as it has the story behind
- 2:53it, you know. And and in reading, if you've read anything about
- 2:58it, and not that it's a real shocker that Vince McMahon is a scumbag.
- 3:01But I was partly curious because this was you know, Triple H who
- 3:08was married to Stephanie McMahon and and you know he is basically and w Dowe
- 3:13has been taken over or merged with basically yeah, and uh so I was
- 3:21kind of curious what they were gonna do and everything, and man, it
- 3:23was they it was like the old days. They did it right. It
- 3:27was great, theatrics, great storyline. Uh. You know Cody Rhodes,
- 3:31who I mean, I sadly I remember his daddy Rhodes, the American Oh
- 3:38it's it's it's Dusty Rhodes boy. Yeah, oh okay, Because I saw
- 3:43like a brief clip of some girl with a microphone announcing Cody Rhodes as the
- 3:47undisputed champion of sman wrestled me whatever. And I saw it was said Cody
- 3:53Rhodes, and I thought it just sounded to me like some guy who wandered
- 3:55into the ring thinking it was an open mic in nack and he's trying to
- 4:00get his single on the radio. Cody Roads. I didn't realize it was
- 4:03son of Dusty, Yeah, the brother of Dustin Roads. And uh he
- 4:10uh yeah, So you know, daddy was the American dream and you know,
- 4:14Cody is the American Nightmare and incredibly popular, and he is. I
- 4:19knew he had been on a long journey in and out of of WWE and
- 4:25everything else, but it was just it was a great show. In that
- 4:28final match with Roman Reigns, Uh, it was just fantastic. I mean,
- 4:32you have the Rock and then the Undertaker appears, in which I was
- 4:38the crowd went nuts when that Bell told let me ask you this, I
- 4:45just got to chill down my spine bes I can hear it in my head.
- 4:46I was like, oh, that's good. Well, the Rock is
- 4:48in. The Rock is in the middle of the ring, and he's you
- 4:51know, he's got a belt that says Mama Roads and he's he's So the
- 4:55Rocks now turned to taking a turn toward as a heel. He's a bad
- 4:58guy now, yeah, and so he's And then you didn't pick anybody to
- 5:02endorse for president. He's doing it on the w w E side of things.
- 5:05He's going to run for president one day. Yeah, that's the thing.
- 5:10When he found out the statistic that sixty four percent of the country would
- 5:13actually vote for him, I think I'll do that. He should start now.
- 5:18He could win. Actually, yeah, what I think I would vote
- 5:25for the people's elbow. I'm being I'm just saying, i mean, what
- 5:29else do we need to show to the world. We had the guy from
- 5:30The Apprentice, and now we've got the Rock. We've already had a wrestler
- 5:34be governor. I mean, come on, you know, yeah, but
- 5:39at least he was a Navy seal before all that. Yeah, this guy
- 5:43worked at a Bally's Fitness. He's also that ship crazy. Oh I'm not.
- 5:50When I saw his name on the short list for Robert Kennedy Junior's pick
- 5:57of VPS, I was like, I'm out. Oh no, I was
- 6:00all that. That made me go all in. I'm like, that's the
- 6:02craziest ticket on the planet. Robert, Robert Kennedy and Jesse Ventura. Yeah,
- 6:10anyone from the Kennedy clan and Jesse Ventura. That is an interesting match.
- 6:15That is a match, sounds like an actual match, which gets us
- 6:17back to WrestleMania. So I must I must admit I I don't know if
- 6:23I've ever actually seen a WrestleMania. Now. I watched wrestling. Me and
- 6:28my cousin we were a little back when I was into wrestling, that was
- 6:32when they had the little wrestling pillow guys. So we had like the rest.
- 6:39It was when Hulk Holgan before Hulk Holgan went to the Black Stuff,
- 6:44and this was when it was still yellow and red Hulk Holgan shirt, the
- 6:49Hulkamania Bacho Mane the and the black was when he was New World Order and
- 6:57yeah, so I was out before all that. Back when they had the
- 7:00little wrestling buddies that you can wrestle, that's when I was in. The
- 7:03Taker Undertaker was there that was loved the Undertaker. That was when I was
- 7:09into wrestling. So it was a very small window. But when WrestleMania happened,
- 7:13there was no way that my mom or my grandmother was going to fork
- 7:15over the money on a pay per view for me to watch WrestleMania. So
- 7:17I never saw WrestleMania live. Tray's right, and the writing is back to
- 7:23the old days, like the Attitude era is what it was called when Vince
- 7:26switched it over, and it's really really clever writing that's really really good.
- 7:30It keeps you looped in week after week. And then that WrestleMania was just
- 7:34phenomenal, made phenomenal because like I said, I've never seen a WrestleMania to
- 7:42my recollection. So one thing was so the match itself, it's been a
- 7:49saga with Cody Rhodes for two years, yeah, I mean for this last
- 7:56kind of run. Yeah, because he left aw tears ago. Yeah,
- 7:59and so the final match is you've got So they wrestled. They did a
- 8:05tag team event Saturday night, which Rose correct me if I'm wrong. That
- 8:09determined the rules for the Sunday night. Yes, so, and Roman Reigns
- 8:13won and so it was blood drawing rules, which basically, yeah, anything
- 8:16goes. And so WrestleMania was a two night event. Yes, yeah,
- 8:20it's kind you have to understand the best story on the two There was a
- 8:24pivot because it was supposed to be The Rock versus Roman Rings, but Cody
- 8:28Rhodes won the Royal Rumble and that used to be back in the day that
- 8:31whoever won the Rumble was the number one contender, and so they got to
- 8:35fight the current champion. Well, they had this whole thing because the Rock
- 8:39was coming back and he was going to be a good guy because Roman Reigns
- 8:43is a bad guy and he was going to win everything back for the good
- 8:46guys and it was gonna be the Rock and Roman reigns Cousin against cousin and
- 8:50uh, the Cody wrote, I can't remember what the hashtag was went uber
- 8:56viral, like how are you guys ignoring the fact that he won and you
- 9:01did this to him last year because he won the Royal rub the last year
- 9:03and he didn't get to fight the champion, and like, enough is enough.
- 9:05We love the Rock, he's great, but you got to cut this
- 9:09crap out, and that's what they So the Rock came out to being booed
- 9:13for the first time. Uh. And they made an on stage It was
- 9:18brilliant. They made an ons this a couple of weeks ago, a couple
- 9:20of months ago. Yes, they made an on stage pivot, and he
- 9:24turned against Cody and joined the faction that is the the tri the tribe because
- 9:30Rommerains is a tribal chief and their cousins and so on stage they made this
- 9:35pivot and that's what made this this WrestleMania bigger than probably most WrestleManias because it
- 9:43was the first time the People's Champ was booed at every appearance that he made
- 9:48leading up to and then he started to fight with he was like, you're
- 9:52you know, you're twenty years younger than your siblings with Cody Rhodes and he's
- 9:54like that you were a mistake, like went after the mom and and I
- 10:00remember this because he took a heel turn back in the day. He is
- 10:05one of the best, biggest, he could be the biggest and best dick.
- 10:09I think he's brutally Oh, they showed it on on the jumbo Tron
- 10:13where they had kids, Like they had tiktoks that they put up of kids
- 10:16crying because the Rock's a bad guy. Yeah, Like that's how good he
- 10:20was, Like how believable he was. Like So that's how you're saying the
- 10:22w w E is back is it's made its triumphant return making children cry.
- 10:30Well, that's what it did a long time ago, and that's what I'm
- 10:33saying. It's like, so they brought that element back. And that's why
- 10:35you guys are, well what when when ww At the time WWF really took
- 10:41off was because Vince McMahon hired soap opera riders to come in and write storylines
- 10:46and developed them. And that's yeah, and that's that's when it blew up.
- 10:50It's because all of a sudden, you have wrestling mixed with a soap
- 10:54opera element. Yeah, And but you also had it was a very kid
- 10:56friendly, like you had a wrestling buddy, right, you had one of
- 10:58those the little you know, the Undertaker, the or the little pillow and
- 11:03it was and it was yeah, and it was it was you know,
- 11:07say your prayers and eat your vitamins. And they had a legit bad guy
- 11:09and that's who you were like, no, he's not good. And then
- 11:13when you're a good guy would turn bad. You're like, this is the
- 11:15worst day of my life. And they've brought this back, but to another
- 11:18level where you have the guy who's one of the most likable people in the
- 11:22world, one of the most generous people in the world in the Rock now
- 11:24turns so devastatingly bad. Like it hooked you in, like it made you
- 11:28watch every week just in case he showed up. And now, I mean
- 11:31he said on Monday night after the rest Man, he's like, I got
- 11:35to go away for a while because he's got to go back to making movies
- 11:37and he's got to go back to doing all the other stuff that he does.
- 11:39But he's also on the board now of Yes w w E and and
- 11:45and helping the decision making process of storylines and everything else. And that's so
- 11:50now Vince really made it as time went on about himself and and Vince is
- 11:56just a horrible human being. And so now that they've got him out of
- 11:58there, and Triple H, who was his son in law, has taken
- 12:03over, and everyone I have yet to read anyone who said he's doing a
- 12:07bad job, like everyone has said he is a has been. Look who's
- 12:09look who's got I mean, he has Shawn Michaels that's in the scouting and
- 12:13in training, his old DX partner, uh and good old San Antonio boy.
- 12:18And then he's got himself who was in every storyline back in the day.
- 12:22And you've got the Rock. So you have three of the top guys
- 12:26that ever wrestled in WWE on a on a position of power in some way
- 12:31to make that, I mean, you can't go wrong with him. Well
- 12:33and then and then Vince just started to look like Dick dastardly at the end.
- 12:37I don't know what that was. Well that was I was just wait
- 12:41waiting for him to tie a girl to a trend track, like that's what
- 12:43he looked like the last time he was seen on TV. No no go,
- 12:48look it up. Like he's got like the mustache that's cut here,
- 12:52but he has got the jet black hair and he's seventy eight and he's still
- 12:56on steroids, so he just looks terrible. Like heteroids is once you start,
- 13:03you really you really can't. It's it's sort of like pringles. Once
- 13:05you start, you can't start. But Dan Dance to answer your ultimate question
- 13:09about what made it so good is so this final match, you have the
- 13:15crowd favorite Cody Rhoads Roman Reigns, who has been had the title for three
- 13:20plus years and and I wouldn't say he's disliked, he's just good back.
- 13:24Yeah, well he's he's been on top so long people are rooting for him
- 13:28to fall and and Cody Roads is a great foil for that. But you
- 13:33had and this is also a testament to Triple H and the Rock. You
- 13:35know, you have the Rock that makes an appearance in the final match,
- 13:39John Cena, who are both you know, big movie stars who don't need
- 13:43to do w WE anymore. And then you have the Undertaker comeback, which
- 13:46that was probably the most fascinating thing is for all of it when that bell
- 13:52told, and it's right at the time where the Rock is, you know,
- 13:56looking like he's just gonna end the match for Roman reigns. The bell
- 14:00tolls, the crowd goes, bananas, lights go out, bell toes again,
- 14:05come back up the rock is I mean the Undertaker standing behind the Rock
- 14:09and everyone I lost. I was like, yeah, here's here's why you're
- 14:15dais. He must have been traumatized. But here's what Here's why the fans
- 14:18went so because the rumor was it was going to Nobody had any idea the
- 14:24Undertaker was going to be there because he had his Hall of Fame thing last
- 14:26year here in doubt. Yeah, he retired and he's gone for a while.
- 14:30The rumor was it was supposed to be Stone Cold Steve Austin. So
- 14:33everybody's waiting for that glass to shatter and the Stone Cold to come out.
- 14:37And so we I remember standing with Ja McClintock, the gm over at to
- 14:41be improperb We watched it at his house and we're all like gathered around the
- 14:45TV. There's couches, there's chairs, were gathered around the TV when we
- 14:48saw Sena and we just kept whisper like waiting for the glass of shatter.
- 14:52When's the glass and shatterer? When's the glass and shot? And like we
- 14:56didn't hear it? And then that bell went. I was like, oh,
- 15:00water, great twist because they leaked. They leaked that on their own
- 15:03rumor Stone Cold's coming. Yeah, it was. It was the old the
- 15:05old baby switches. So it's interesting because what I'm getting out of this from
- 15:11you guys is, look, I was a casual wrestling fan when I was
- 15:15little. You guys have carried that into adulthood, and at some points in
- 15:20my life as an adult, I've judged other adult men like, really,
- 15:24you're still into that, partly because it turned me off a little bit because
- 15:30at a certain age when I realized that it was fake, I felt lied
- 15:33to, I felt betrayed. Uh. And then I started seeing some of
- 15:37those storylines getting more ridiculous, and it's like, how are people still believing
- 15:43this? Now? I realize that most people just they know it's a show.
- 15:48They don't care. They just accept it for the show that it is.
- 15:50But I would, I would dare you to tell them that it's fake.
- 15:54No, no, no, I'm not saying the action is fake.
- 15:56I'm just saying the storylines like trace, they were by riders, so the
- 16:00storylines were contrived. Well they even they even said that is real. Yeah,
- 16:06they even said after the match because Samantha Irwin, who is the ring
- 16:10announcer, and she just amazing. Yeah, they were like she'd said she
- 16:15did not want to know the outcome beforehand. So so that's the clip I
- 16:18saw of the ring. So she was the ring announcer, all emotional when
- 16:22she announces Cody Road new camp. Okay, I just normally they know they
- 16:26were screwing. I don't know, no, no, no that they normally
- 16:30know the drop, they know who's gonna get it so they can prepare whatever.
- 16:33Uh but I mean, I my buddy Johnny Lacusta is a great comic
- 16:37and he's also a commentator for an x T. He uh he said,
- 16:41like this, it's choreographed combat. That's that's what it is. Like they
- 16:45legitimate My buddy Lance Lance was wrestling. John Moxley used to be Dan Ambrose
- 16:49at the w W and at one points just lacing up his boots and Moxley
- 16:53is John Moxley. Now Moxley walked in with a fork and goes, uh
- 16:56amen and just looks up. He goes, I'm gonna use this, and
- 17:00they went okay, didn't say how, didn't say what he was gonna do.
- 17:03And then he they get in the ring and he just starts stabbing Lance
- 17:07in the head with a fork. Uh yeah, I'll say this if you
- 17:11saw, if you look at a picture of Cody Roads after that match,
- 17:14yeah, it ain't fair. I mean like he literally I kept watching.
- 17:18It happened early in the match. He had a gash on his shoulder and
- 17:19I'm like, he needs Yeah, yeah, I was gonna say I was.
- 17:22I was like that bump went wrong. I was like, oh that
- 17:25went wrong. I was like, this is over. If they're gonna drop
- 17:27it now, I mean he had welt and I mean it was it was
- 17:30just it's when it's done right that it's just fun to watch, and it's
- 17:37it's stupid and fun, and that's that's really what makes it. I don't
- 17:42know if you've ever been to a match, but they have a lot of
- 17:45very good looking ladies that go as well that are that are big wrestling fans.
- 17:49So that's that's always nice when you're at the concession stand. I'll mention
- 17:53that when when she asked me what I want to do when we come back
- 17:56to Texas. We're like, oh, well, you know, they have
- 17:59lots of Roger, they have lots of hot women at these things, so
- 18:02you know, yeah, I do. Like how what you're saying, though,
- 18:04it's like, what what WWE did in order to make it good and
- 18:11really great and come back into its own Like you're saying it sounds like what
- 18:15they did was they took out the evil CEO and brought in their really talented
- 18:22people that carried the entire organization for years and let them do what they do
- 18:30best without the interference of an a hole CEO. And I think now I'm
- 18:41brought back into the fall and I'm back inside the wrestling arena. I identify
- 18:49with these people so much. I as a wrestler now I think I do.
- 18:55Maybe not a wrestler, but yeah, I feel like I've been stabbed
- 18:57in the head with a fork multiple times. W W Dick, you guys
- 19:03drunkstardly. But no, that's a storyline I can certainly relate to. How
- 19:11about that? Yes, I'm gonna be quadruple A. So you now,
- 19:25if you didn't catch the Treehouse Plus episode today, that is such a good

- 22:22Big news from the other Day dead at the age of seventy six from prostate
- 22:30cancer, OJ Simpson and based on a photo that you initially shared Raj,
- 22:37and then we shared it collectively from the Treehouse on air account. I do
- 22:45think there is a massive opportunity here for a white broncohearse to lead the processional
- 22:56for OJ's funeral and internment or whatever way in which he has finished off from
- 23:00the planet. I mean, it wouldn't be his first time at the police
- 23:04escort. But I hope the song, like I said, I hope the
- 23:08song playing on the radio in his power, in his verse is a highway
- 23:12to hell. That's the whole OJ thing is such a it's such an interesting
- 23:21pop culture political thing. And it's like his name to say it's polarizing,
- 23:33is it's only like half the story saying his name is more of a lightning
- 23:37rod because it brings out so many thoughts. It's almost like someone that has
- 23:41lived four five different lives and most of us have seen every different version of
- 23:48them. I shouldn't be surprised anymore when when you know news breaks of a
- 23:55quote unquote celebrity or a well known individual dies, But for some reason,
- 24:00it surprised me a little bit seeing that he died after battling prostate cancer at
- 24:06the age of seventy six. And there's so much to dissect there. I
- 24:15hardly know where to start other than OJ died, and we all think it'd
- 24:18be great if his funeral procession was led by a white Bronco hearst. And
- 24:22that's and that's kind of my jumping off point. Yeah, and I'm glad
- 24:29it's it's I don't know how you say. You know, I lost my
- 24:33mother to cancer. So my heart goes out to his family because that's got
- 24:37to be tough because they were still family did so that's still their dad or
- 24:41their uncle or their whatever. Yeah, and you know, they had to
- 24:45figure out in life how to look past what he was charged with. And
- 24:49I guess the only solace could be, well he was found not guilty.
- 24:52That might be some solace on their part. I've also come to think that
- 24:56over the decades, you really didn't have to worry about catching the wrath of
- 25:02OJ as long as you were not romantically involved with him, romantically involved with
- 25:07someone he was romantically involved with. Or or stole his memorabilia or taking some
- 25:14of his stuff or purchased it off of someone that stole it from him.
- 25:18If you're not falling in one of those two categories, he was probably a
- 25:22swell dude. Yeah. My favorite part of the memorabilia thing that when he
- 25:29when he held the guy up a gun point, he in court goes,
- 25:32I didn't know I wasn't doing anything illegal. Well, because he said that
- 25:36he didn't know that they had guns, he had a gun. See,
- 25:41this is this is part of the this is I think this is like the
- 25:44whole OJ thing was sort of the start of information misinformation type stuff, because
- 25:51you know, we kind of followed that story a little bit with the hold
- 25:53up in the Vegas hotel. OJ is trying to get his memorabilia back.
- 25:57Yeah. My my recollect of it was not that he had a gun,
- 26:02but a couple of these guys in his posse did and he tried claiming that
- 26:06he didn't know they had guns. Well, he was like one of the
- 26:10guys came out, he was smart. Before they went in the room,
- 26:12he gave his gun to one of the guys. Other guys had guns as
- 26:15well, but he gave his to the other guy because like, I'm gonna
- 26:18do the talking, gotcha. So what he went in in front of a
- 26:22corner, in the front of the judge, Like, I didn't do anything,
- 26:26So how is it? Then this this is what this is part of
- 26:27what this is fascinating to me about because it's racial stuff, it's domestic violence
- 26:37stuff, it's systemic racism, possibly within police forces. You've also got the
- 26:47entire justice system. You've also got the culture of being a celebrity athlete and
- 26:52the effects that has on the rest of society and everything I just said before
- 26:57it Yeah, that's why it's so layered in this and that is the life
- 27:03of OJ. Yeah, and it's you know, there's there's the thing you
- 27:07know when you're talking about the l A PD already had an issue with Rodney
- 27:11King, and then you have this happened where Mark Furman, the notorious racist
- 27:15at one point and then there was one point where they drew blood from OJ
- 27:21to test against what they were going to find if they were forensics might have
- 27:25found it the scene, and then that officer goes with the vial of blood
- 27:30to the crime scene and so that's how they disproved that as They're like,
- 27:33well, he took the he could have dropped it all there, So there's
- 27:37all that they didn't disprove it, they gave it, gave reasonable possible the
- 27:42probably if we if we, if that trials held the day OJ's convicted,
- 27:48because the DNA evidence is there, they just and this is one of those
- 27:51things they didn't DNA was so new at the time they didn't know how to
- 27:55deal with it. I mean, and that's one of the most bungled prosecutions
- 27:57ever. Do wonder did SNL ever take the OJ trial the trial of the
- 28:04century and cross it over with one of my favorite Phil Hartman sketches, The
- 28:10Caveman Lawyer, because there were times that it seemed like the prosecution was acting
- 28:15like the Caveman lawyers, saying, yeah, you know, I was frozen
- 28:18and ice for thousands of years. I don't even know this DNA stuff,
- 28:22but it seems whack. You get the idea. I just my favorite.
- 28:27And I watched so much of that trial because I mean, that was we
- 28:33all did. Yeah, but I sit there and watched like an hour of
- 28:37it in the afternoon when I get home from school with my grandmother. There
- 28:41was this one. It was judge Eto, and it was Christopher Darden for
- 28:47the prosecution, and this is what you know, this trial had already gone
- 28:51on for so long, and Ito goes, listen, you need to ask
- 28:56him this, this, and this. That's it. Three hours later and
- 29:03you know what I think, And I think that's one of the one.
- 29:06Again, there's so many takeaways from the life of oj but that trial is
- 29:11like an onion. It's just layer after layer. That was one of the
- 29:14first times I realized that the people I thought in this world that were leaders
- 29:21or statesmen, people that are supposed to be of high intelligence and high character
- 29:27and integrity and all these things, seems like a lot of them are just
- 29:33fucking stupid. And that's a great example. It's like, here's the judge
- 29:37telling you you can't ask this, this, and this, and then what
- 29:40happens. He doesn't listen to any of it, and it's three more hours
- 29:42of it. Wouldn't say you can't ask this, He was literally, these
- 29:47are the three questions you need to ask this witness. That's it. But
- 29:52that's just I mean. But then, so you know that's the thing,
- 29:55right, the burden of proof lies on the state, Right, who's brought
- 29:57these charges again, so they just had to pick it apart and that's all
- 30:00they did. Uh. You know, there's conspiracy theories that that I have
- 30:06followed that I can follow conspiracy theories that one of them is is plausible to
- 30:12me. I could see, there's a couple of scenarios that I could see
- 30:18briefly let me hear that he didn't do it. I think one of the
- 30:22big reasons was it was widely known that they both had an affinity for the
- 30:30nose candy. Who's who's who's them? Both oh J and cole Bron Simpson.
- 30:36They both like their their party drugs. And he had had it's like
- 30:41a medical skill or whatever. But he got sober so he stopped doing all
- 30:45of it. She did not, but he was paying the bill for it
- 30:48and he stopped. So this is one of the theories is he got That's
- 30:51why he left for that flight randomly for no reason, to Chicago and then
- 30:56came back the next day. Was the drug The drug dealers were like,
- 31:00hey, this is how much we're owed and he's like, I'm not paying
- 31:02it and they're like, well, if you don't, we're gonna take care
- 31:06of business. And he's like I don't know shit, I'm not saying anything.
- 31:10I didn't see anything. See y'all later. And he got on a
- 31:11plane for no reason. I know. I know. One theory that I
- 31:15heard that at one point seemed plausible if you were to go the angle that
- 31:21he did not do it was that his son had son did it. Yeah,
- 31:23so that's why his his brunal molly footprint. I saw that one as
- 31:26well. That was believable, like, and then there's the other very obvious
- 31:30thing. And if you were to dig up my grandmother she'd happily scream at
- 31:33the TV. Once again he did it. Yeah, oh yeah, yeah.
- 31:37The one the one that the reason why his bloody footprints was there is
- 31:41his son's hat had fallen off in the in the murder, and so he
- 31:45went to retrieve his hat so his son didn't get popped for it because there
- 31:48was a big I think the thing I think the thing that's really hard because
- 31:55I said, yeah, the people who were you know, my staff is
- 31:57they're all in their twenties. They don't know, they don't know anything about
- 32:01like just what they've read or anything else. OJ was the first in my
- 32:08unless I'm can think of someone else first black athlete. I mean, I
- 32:12mean, he was truly great. I mean, but he was the first
- 32:15crossover where you know, he's doing AVOs was it as or Hurts but yeah,
- 32:20her car rental commercials, and then he's in the neked Gun movies.
- 32:22And he was a true crossover star and just seemed lovable and at that time,
- 32:30and yes, this is just deeply rooted in racism. Of he was
- 32:34the lovable black guy, right, and that was one thing. One of
- 32:37one of his most famous quotes was that I'm not black, I'm oj Yeah,
- 32:43And it's kind of hard to argue that because he was he was one
- 32:47he was universally liked. And and then obviously his wife ends up practically decapitated
- 32:53with her friend Ron and we're all wondering why, I like how they're saying
- 32:58that now with her friend, because when the trial started, he was just
- 33:00a random whiter that was bringing back glasses because she had left him at the
- 33:05restaurant. And that was a pile of ship because they were they were hooking
- 33:08up because she walked. They had there was ice cream on the counter that
- 33:12when they when the police shut up, that was melted. Uh. There
- 33:15was a movie that was rented. Uh and she was. Now I have
- 33:19also hang on, now I have also there is a that that was not
- 33:22like he was actually gay, and that's that they were just friends. That
- 33:27that that's another theory I heard as well. But and that's why maybe she
- 33:30was comfortable in the lingerie to watch a movie and need some ice cream.
- 33:34You know what, at the end of the day, all three of those
- 33:36people are are now gone to obviously uh uh you know, sooner and against
- 33:42their will. And that was OJ, you know, was against his will.
- 33:45I'm sure. But yeah, it's like I said, it's just it's
- 33:52it's a fascinating individual because it affected so many people's lives. It was the
- 33:58beginning of where like to me, every single courtroom drama that is successful now
- 34:05has a portion to think, a portion of their success to think the the
- 34:09O. J. Simpson trial. I also blame OJ Simpson for the birth
- 34:15of the Hollywood clan, that is, the Kardashians. Without without his situation,
- 34:21they may not exist. Kylie might not only not be a billionaire,
- 34:25but she might be stuck with the face she was born with along with the
- 34:29rest of them. Basically, the ripple effects of OJ throughout society despite what
- 34:37he did or didn't do, are really impressive but also terrifying. But I
- 34:42mean, Chloe's still his, right, I mean, that's that's the thing.
- 34:44That's another conspiracy. We don't know. Was she his? Was she
- 34:47she won't take us, she won't take a DNA test. That's fine.
- 34:51But if you look at them, they all that entire legal council. I
- 34:54believe all die to cancer. Johnny Cochran had brand cancer, Okaylee Bailey had
- 35:00prostate cancers, while I believe oj had cancer. And I can't believe.
- 35:04What's the other guy. Robert Kardashian, No, yeah, he had brain
- 35:08cancer. Same thing. Uh so, Robert Kardashian brain cancer. Johnny Cochran,
- 35:14I think, had brain cancer. And then Aflee Bailey was old.
- 35:15Yeah, Afte Bailey was. I can't count that because that's one of those
- 35:20you live long enough, you're going to get if you're a man, you're
- 35:22gonna get prostate cancer. Yeah. So, and then who's the who's the
- 35:24main guy? What was it? I can't remember whose name? The black
- 35:28hair Johnny Cochran, No, no, no, no, there was four
- 35:31of them. There was Cochran, Kardashian, Bailey, and there was one.
- 35:35I can't remember the other. I know you'll get it somebody, let's
- 35:39look it up. Defense team. So anyway, so the whole defense team,
- 35:44including OJ have all died of some some form of cancer, I believe.
- 35:46So he's still kicking. Now, he's got he's got serious problems of
- 35:53his own. Yeah, I think he's got like it does, doesn't he
- 35:58do like some law commercials, like for the online law stuff that you can
- 36:02do. I think he's does that. One of Ja's lawyers, very shock.
- 36:07I think it's still alive. But like, how many Robert Shapiro?
- 36:14Robert Shapiro, that's right, Yeah, yeah, how did I forget that?
- 36:16Yeah, Roberts. I don't know if he's still alive, but if
- 36:19you look it up, like almost all of them died of cancer. And
- 36:21I'm like, that's a little telly, Like that's the deal they like that.
- 36:28It's starting to sound like cancer's vindictive. Yeah, it's like, like
- 36:32I said, it's the deal that they made with the devils, Like,
- 36:34hey, uh yeah, I'm gonna get you acquitted, not guilty. You're
- 36:37als gonna lose your ass in the civil trial. But every one of you
- 36:39guys, not now, but every one of you guys couldn't die of cancer
- 36:44and they're like, cool, let's because they're all like, yeah, we'll
- 36:51beat it. They did not. But Brad Williams, I will have to
- 36:54say he won the He won the Internet yesterday with his post. I think
- 36:59a bunch of people have stolen it since then, but he if you look
- 37:01at the timestamp, he's the one who posted the joke on Twitter. He
- 37:05said, well, now oj can rest in peace knowing that the murderer of
- 37:09his wife has died, because he was like, I'm not going to rest
- 37:15until I find it. Well, you can rest in peace now because he's
- 37:19dead. Uh. Yeah. He searched every golf course in America. I
- 37:29feel like Crase one. Now you're in the visit us online a treehouseonair dot

- 37:58Jacqueline, I hear you have some big news to share. I do so
- 38:01I am looking at buying another house right now. It's not a good time
- 38:06with the interest rates, but it's a house in the neighborhood where my grandparents
- 38:12lived when I was first born, so it's neighborhood I lived in growing up,
- 38:15and it's a neighborhood where my dad was a custom home builder when I
- 38:17was really little. And I have already contacted the cooks. They're going to
- 38:21come look at my roof when I go into my option period, and of
- 38:23course my guys are going to look at the plumbing when we go into the
- 38:27option period. And then I've got a new customer who we've been doing back
- 38:30and forth business with. He's actually a home inspector, but he hired us
- 38:34to fix his plumbing, so I'm going to hire him when the time comes
- 38:37and we go into that inspection period. And prices are really high right now,
- 38:39and they're going to continue raising because hypothetically the FED is supposed to drop
- 38:44the interest rate later this year, and when that happens, prices are going
- 38:46to go up even more, and so will competition, and so one of
- 38:50the things that's going to bring down your ultimate price once you've made your offer,
- 38:52and it's been received is how you negotiate the findings in the inspections.
- 38:58So I want everybody to remember both meat and the cooks when when they're buying
- 39:02when something needs to get investigated. So I preach it all the time.
- 39:07You have to be very diligent during your inspections because it saves so much money.
- 39:10Most plumbing companies don't do that, but Jacqueline from Brooks Plumbing does.

- 39:59tray. I know you're still feeling in your feels a little bit right now,
- 40:02but there's some there's a bone that Raj has to pick with you.
- 40:05Ro go ahead, what what was the what was the name of the movies?
- 40:08That Ojison response? In naked gun, it's okay. See that's not
- 40:15that's not a word. You don't mean naked gun? Do you? Naked
- 40:22gun? Okay, it's closer. How's that word spelled when you saw it
- 40:29spelled? When you saw it spelled out for the first time, the word
- 40:31naked with an A? You went that A isn't the wrong place. It
- 40:37needs to be an e. And it's naked gun, naked gun, naked
- 40:42there he got it. Does it sound weird when you say it like that?
- 40:45I one of those words I just never really Yeah, I thought about
- 40:52that much. Naked gun, naked gun? Okay, Gray, you say
- 40:58it however you want to say it. If you want to say it's naked
- 41:00gun, then you call it the naked gun. Look I look at it
- 41:04this way. I see that there's you know, the word, there's the
- 41:07word naked, and then there's the word naked. Yeah, they are essentially
- 41:10the same word, but naked. You can look this up anywhere. Uh,
- 41:17when I'm not looking. The definition of naked is more naked. It's
- 41:25like it's like it's like an additional layer of naked. So it's like someone
- 41:30so naked they were naked. Oh gotcha? Okay, all right, how
- 41:35about this? He was in those movies from the Files of the Police Squad.
- 41:43I'm kind of surprised you could say files not the only F word.
- 41:52I can say, no, it's not. Yeah, so Raj's girlfriend apparently
- 42:00neked is the time. And then she says and so, okay, it's
- 42:02monster, right she says, yeah, so it's you know, I was
- 42:06always scared of monsters when I was a kid. I was like the TV
- 42:08show the Monsters and she's like, no, like real monsters, and I
- 42:13was like, monsters, Yeah, monsters. I was like, what are
- 42:16we doing right now? What? What? What skin are we doing?
- 42:20Because yeah, that sounds like a troubling communicative relationship. Yeah, naked and
- 42:27monster, And I'm like, that's it. I kind of hope there's not
- 42:29a naked monster anywhere. I won't know what she's talking about. There's the
- 42:34nicked monster. I don't know there's a nicked monster. When Fred Grant Fred
- 42:43Gwinn, wasn't that impressive? Kind of small for a big guy, but
- 42:51Grandpa speaking of Grandpa, Okay, thank you for the segue. Our buddy
- 43:04Daniel Cook from COOKDFW Roofing and Restoration sit me this the other day and he
- 43:07wanted to make sure that I shared it with you, Trey and Raj since
- 43:10you guys are also card carrying members of AARP, are you aware of sex
- 43:16furniture that can be done right? It can be all furniture. Well,
- 43:23what you need to do is open up your AARP newsletter email a little more
- 43:28often, because, according to AARP, sex furniture adds zing and support to
- 43:34aging bodies. From benches to wedge pillows, sex furniture can take love making
- 43:39to the next level. AARP is clearly gone to the next level. Yeah.
- 43:47Sexual wellness experts say sex furniture is beneficial for two reasons. Not only
- 43:52does it push sex play beyond same old, same old, meaning eighty three
- 43:57percent of adult survey by AARP said they have sexual fantasies. It serves as
- 44:01an adaptive It serves as adaptive equipment that provides support for body parts that may
- 44:07no longer be limber. See it's beneficial sex furniture ranging from hammocks to wedge
- 44:15pillows and tantra chairs may not be a part of your current array, but
- 44:22it's more mainstream than you might think, even sold by major companies like Amazon,
- 44:27Etsy, Wayfair, and Ikea. So you're getting more than meatballs at
- 44:30Ikea. A hammock, Yeah, to me, a hammock's far too dangerous
- 44:36for even able bodied people. But I think it's specifically a sex hammock.
- 44:43Any hammock is a sex hammock if you used properly. It said. It's
- 44:47available on Amazon, so you guys talk and I will order. I'm more
- 44:57curious to know what the sex furniture on Etsy looks like. Clearly I'm on
- 45:04the younger demo for ARP, because when you say sex furniture, I'm thinking,
- 45:07you know, a bondage cross and uh, hooks in the ceiling or
- 45:12something like that. No, I totally get what you mean. And I'm
- 45:15kind of the same way when like, when I saw this story talking about
- 45:17sex furniture, I wasn't thinking about wedge pillows or something like that. I
- 45:22was thinking more like, well, there's a reason why they call it a
- 45:24pull out couch hold up to three hundred pounds over the door swing. Sex
- 45:32adults well sorry, over the door sex adult swing. Now that's a sex
- 45:37swing. Yeah, over the door. Yeah, see that's specific they're talking
- 45:42like when they that, because that's just dangerous. I mean you're dealing with
- 45:47old people. You're talking about, you know, a fall risk Jesus yeah
- 45:52on with one. Yeah, you've absolutely got to be careful. I mean,
- 45:57you can't just run around doing the happy Dolphin on the autumn and without
- 46:00some concern for safety. You can't walk into someone's living room and just start
- 46:06playing hide the lamp. Did you say lamp or lamb? Lamp? Okay,
- 46:15sex furniture not. Not one of those is inappropriate. I think that's
- 46:20important that we mentioned that because you don't want people getting the wrong impression when
- 46:23they hear sex furniture, because you don't want them doing the Luca door off
- 46:27the arm walk. What uh? What is a I see it? I
- 46:30still don't know what I'm seeing, but it is a sex slingshot. That's
- 46:37when you're done. Good to know they're selling it now and we're out or
- 47:02it's just a whole new role play of David and versus Goliath. All right,
- 47:08thanks for hanging out with us Inside the Treehouse, episode ninety one.
- 47:12We appreciate it. We'll be back in here on Friday. And I hope
- 47:15whatever you do in your hammock is safe. Close to the ground, I'm
- 47:22close to the ground, but it's Yeah, you don't want to do the
- 47:27sex a zipline. See you next time inside the treehouse. That is the
- 47:42sex sling shot. That just looks like someone tied up. Yeah on a
- 47:49trampoline. Yeah, but she's the trampoline bouncing on her when the old kangaroo
- 47:59on the trampoline got it, except
