- Lucas: Velkommen to another episode of Learn Danish with Fexingo. I'm Lucas. Luna: And I'm Luna. Our last episode was all about sending packages. Hope you've been practicing. Lucas: If Fexingo has been helping you make real progress with your Danish, that's exactly why we do this. We keep the show free and ad-free on purpose. Luna: Yeah. And if you want to support that, the link is buy me a coffee dot com slash fexingo. Every bit helps keep the episodes coming. Lucas: Exactly. Now let's talk about something we all deal with every day: the weather. But specifically, temperature. Luna: Good idea. We already know words like regn and sol. Now let's say if it's hot or cold. Lucas: Right. First phrase: Det er varmt. It is hot. Say it with me: Det er varmt. Luna: Det er varmt. Lucas: Perfect. So if you're outside in July, you say 'Det er varmt.' Try again. Luna: Det er varmt. Oh, that's nice. Lucas: Now the opposite: Det er koldt. It is cold. Repeat: Det er koldt. Luna: Det er koldt. Lucas: Great. So in winter, you'd say 'Det er koldt.' Let's use both. Luna, is it hot or cold today? Luna: Uhh, I'd say Det er koldt. Definitely cold. Lucas: Then you've got that one down. Now let's ask about the exact temperature: Hvor mange grader er der? How many degrees are there? Luna: Hvor mange grader er der? That's a mouthful. Lucas: Take it slowly: Hvor mange grader er der? Luna: Hvor mange grader… er der? Yes. Hvor mange grader er der? Lucas: You've got it. And the answer could be Det er 20 grader. It's 20 degrees. Luna: Det er 20 grader. So if someone asks me, I can say that. Lucas: Exactly. Let's do a quick scene. Imagine we're at the park and you ask me the temperature. Luna: Okay. Hvor mange grader er der? Lucas: Det er 20 grader. Not too hot, not too cold. Nice weather. Luna: Det er 20 grader. That's comfortable. Lucas: Now let's say it's really hot: Det er varmt. Maybe 30 degrees. Luna: Det er varmt. I'd say that on a summer day. Lucas: And when it's freezing: Det er koldt. Like minus 5. Luna: Det er koldt. Brrr. Lucas: Let's run through all four phrases again. First, 'It's hot.' Luna: Det er varmt. Lucas: It's cold. Luna: Det er koldt. Lucas: How many degrees? Luna: Hvor mange grader er der? Lucas: It's 20 degrees. Luna: Det er 20 grader. Lucas: Perfect. Now you can talk about the temperature like a Dane. Luna: I'll practice these on my morning walk. Thanks Lucas. Lucas: You're welcome. Keep listening and practicing with Fexingo. See you next time. Luna: Hej hej!
