- 0:35Speaker 2: made into a movie. In fact, I wouldn't be shocked

- 0:54Speaker 2: of this podcast delivered right to your phone, tablet, or
- 0:58Speaker 2: computer by subscribing wherever you get your podcasts. It's the
- 1:02Speaker 2: greatest thing since Why We Love Baseball. That's the name
- 1:07Speaker 2: of a book by former Cincinnati sports writer Joe Posnansky.
- 1:11Speaker 2: That's a countdown of fifty memorable moments in baseball history,
- 1:15Speaker 2: some famous, some obscure. For example, in nineteen sixty two,
- 1:21Speaker 2: as rookie pitcher Gaylord Perry took batting practice, his manager
- 1:25Speaker 2: Alvin Dark remarked that we'll have a man on the
- 1:28Speaker 2: moon before he hits a home run. Seven years later,
- 1:32Speaker 2: exactly thirty four minutes after Neil Armstrong became the first
- 1:36Speaker 2: man to walk on the moon, Perry hit the first
- 1:39Speaker 2: of his six career home runs. The book is filled
- 1:43Speaker 2: with great stories like that, and nobody tells them better
- 1:47Speaker 2: than Joe Posnansky. So while this is a Bengals podcast,
- 1:51Speaker 2: I think just about any sports fan would enjoy the
- 1:54Speaker 2: book Why We Love Baseball. Now, let's get to football
- 1:59Speaker 2: and the race me a replays from last night's win.
- 2:02Speaker 2: Sports history is filled with memorable stories of great athletes
- 2:07Speaker 2: overcoming injuries and illness to triumph.
- 2:10Speaker 1: The Michael Jordan flu game, Kurt Schilling.
- 2:14Speaker 2: In his bloody sock, and Tiger Woods winning a US
- 2:17Speaker 2: Open on a broken leg. Tonight, Joe Burrow will gut
- 2:22Speaker 2: it out and try to lead the Bengals to a
- 2:25Speaker 2: badly needed victory despite a nagging calf injury. It's a
- 2:29Speaker 2: rematch of Super Bowl fifty six the Bengals and Rams
- 2:33Speaker 2: on Monday Night Football, and it is time for the
- 2:37Speaker 2: pigskin to fly in the jungle. Stafford sends Nikua in motion,
- 2:42Speaker 2: fakes a handoff, looks to throw under pressure and sacked
- 2:47Speaker 2: by DJ Rider back at the thirteen yard line to
- 2:51Speaker 2: snap the placement and the right footed kick. It is
- 2:54Speaker 2: right down the middle and the Rams are on the scoreboard.
- 2:58Speaker 2: But they get three seven and take a three to nothing.
- 3:02Speaker 2: Leave Money Matt two for four and his field goal
- 3:04Speaker 2: attempts this season. He missed from fifty six in the
- 3:08Speaker 2: first quarter. This will be a forty nine yard try
- 3:10Speaker 2: from the left. Hash Adam might as well snap, Robbins
- 3:14Speaker 2: will hold. Here comes, the kick gets on its way
- 3:16Speaker 2: and it is good and the Bengals tie it on
- 3:22Speaker 2: a forty nine yard field goal by Evan Macpherson. The
- 3:25Speaker 2: Rams at their own thirty Stafford back to throw, has
- 3:29Speaker 2: to scramble sidearm.
- 3:30Speaker 3: Throw pick picked off, intercept it at the forty one
- 3:34Speaker 3: by Logan Wilson, and the Bengals will start in Rams
- 3:39Speaker 3: territory with three point thirty eight left in the half.
- 3:42Speaker 4: A big assist to Trey Henderson. His pressure caused that interception.
- 3:47Speaker 1: Here comes the fifty three yard kick.
- 3:50Speaker 2: It looks like the tray down the middle, and it
- 3:53Speaker 2: is good to tie the score. At halftime, the Rams
- 3:58Speaker 2: will go empty. Three received right to left, Stafford ready
- 4:02Speaker 2: at well, goes in jet motion.
- 4:04Speaker 1: Stafford to throw.
- 4:05Speaker 2: Patrickson has him and Saxon at the twenty five. That's
- 4:10Speaker 2: the matchup right now, Trey Hendrickson against the backup left
- 4:14Speaker 2: tackle Zach Thomas. Sixty one yards on the drive so far.
- 4:18Speaker 2: The Bengals started at their own twenty five. They're down
- 4:20Speaker 2: to the fourteen of LA, trailing by three. Burrow gives
- 4:24Speaker 2: to Mixing, Joe.
- 4:25Speaker 1: Finds him up the middle. He runs into the end zone.
- 4:30Speaker 3: Touchdown Bengals, and now he does a jungle jump into
- 4:36Speaker 3: the crowd, sitting with the fans after scoring a go
- 4:40Speaker 3: ahead touchdown with five point thirty four left in the
- 4:44Speaker 3: third quarter.
- 4:45Speaker 4: It's the first lead of the season for the Cincinnati Bengals.
- 4:49Speaker 4: They finally are playing with a.
- 4:51Speaker 2: League quick snap. Stafford to throw again over the middle,
- 4:55Speaker 2: deflected and picked off at the twenty two.
- 4:57Speaker 3: It was deflected Wilson and picked.
- 5:00Speaker 1: Off by Logan Wilson.
- 5:02Speaker 2: Hilton deflected it gets up begins celebrating with his teammates.
- 5:07Speaker 2: The Bengals get their second pick, both by Logan Wilson,
- 5:11Speaker 2: and have it at the twenty one yard line. First
- 5:14Speaker 2: and ten Bengals at their own twenty five. They lead
- 5:16Speaker 2: by four four to forty eight left in the third quarter.
- 5:19Speaker 2: Now they line up in a pistol formation. They fake
- 5:21Speaker 2: a toss to the left. Burrow throws downfield. Chase catches
- 5:25Speaker 2: at the fifty, looks for a cutback and gets tackled
- 5:29Speaker 2: inside the thirty five. He's brought down at the thirty
- 5:32Speaker 2: two by Jordan Fuller forty three yards to Newmero.
- 5:37Speaker 1: Uno the gadget.
- 5:39Speaker 4: The gimmick called at a perfect time man. That was beautiful.
- 5:43Speaker 1: Stafford back to pass again.
- 5:45Speaker 2: Here comes the rushho nailed by Hendrickson, who is abusing
- 5:50Speaker 2: Zack Thomas.
- 5:51Speaker 1: Hey sack Stafford at the twelve yard line.
- 5:54Speaker 2: This will be a fifty four yard field goal attempt
- 5:58Speaker 2: for Evan McPherson. He's made three field goals so far tonight,
- 6:02Speaker 2: one from fifty plus. Here comes the right footed kick.
- 6:06Speaker 2: He has the distance.
- 6:08Speaker 1: It is good money. Mac delivers.
- 6:13Speaker 2: He's hit from forty eight, forty nine, fifty three and
- 6:18Speaker 2: fifty four and the Bengals have a ten point lead
- 6:22Speaker 2: nineteen to nine. With seven thirteen to go, Miles Murphy
- 6:26Speaker 2: checks in for fresh legs. Stafford back to pass under pressure,
- 6:30Speaker 2: sacked Sam Hubbard's got him at the forty yard line
- 6:35Speaker 2: for a seven yard sack. The Rams looking for a
- 6:37Speaker 2: touchdown to pull within three. At Well goes in motion
- 6:40Speaker 2: out to the left. Stafford looking his way, he throws
- 6:43Speaker 2: nobody near two two at Well he makes the catch
- 6:46Speaker 2: for a Rams touchdown. With sixty three seconds left in regulation,
- 6:51Speaker 2: one oh three to go. Maher ready for the on
- 6:54Speaker 2: side kick, the Bengals up three. He dribbles it forward,
- 6:58Speaker 2: the Bengals recoverent Mitchell Willcox grabbing the ball at the
- 7:03Speaker 2: forty six and that is coffin nails.
- 7:08Speaker 1: Bam bam bam you, sir, Mitchell will Cox. Big play
- 7:13Speaker 1: right there.
- 7:13Speaker 2: Burrow takes the snap, he takes a knee. The Rams
- 7:16Speaker 2: cannot stop the clock and the final thirty three seconds
- 7:20Speaker 2: will tick down as the Bengals get a desperately needed
- 7:24Speaker 2: win and beat the Rams nineteen to sixteen. So let's
- 7:30Speaker 2: get to Joe Burrow. He said after the game that
- 7:32Speaker 2: his calf started to improve on Friday, and by Sunday
- 7:37Speaker 2: he knew he would be able to play, But Jamar
- 7:39Speaker 2: Chase says he didn't know his quarterback would play until
- 7:43Speaker 2: the pregame warm ups.
- 7:45Speaker 1: I didn't want him to play for I told him
- 7:47Speaker 1: that again after the game.
- 7:48Speaker 5: I was like, you got nuts, boil.
- 7:49Speaker 2: I didn't want you to play NALS.
- 7:50Speaker 1: So I mean, let's just show us that. You know,
- 7:52Speaker 1: Joe's part headed, but you know he's a football player, man,
- 7:56Speaker 1: and you can't knock him from being tough like that.
- 7:58Speaker 5: And they don't make too.
- 7:58Speaker 2: Many quarterbacks toff like that. He said, Oh yeah, man,
- 8:02Speaker 2: if you gonna come to practice like that.
- 8:04Speaker 1: You want to you gonna have that type of work ethicity, you.
- 8:06Speaker 5: Know what I'm saying.
- 8:07Speaker 2: And it takes a lot to be a quarterback and
- 8:09Speaker 2: still play injured.
- 8:10Speaker 5: You know what I'm saying.
- 8:10Speaker 1: You're gonna rust every play.
- 8:11Speaker 2: You got a drop every play, So you know he
- 8:13Speaker 2: got a lot of balls to be all definitely. Burrow
- 8:15Speaker 2: finished twenty six for forty nine for two hundred and
- 8:18Speaker 2: fifty nine yards, with no touchdowns, one pick, and a
- 8:21Speaker 2: passer rating of fifty nine point eight. Those numbers would
- 8:24Speaker 2: have been better if not for some uncharacteristic drops by
- 8:28Speaker 2: t Higgins. Most importantly, Burrow said after the game that
- 8:32Speaker 2: there were no setbacks and his calf feels much better
- 8:35Speaker 2: than it did. After the Baltimore game, Dave Lapham talked
- 8:39Speaker 2: to Burrow in the locker room.
- 8:42Speaker 4: I gotta congratulate you as much as anything. I'm telling you,
- 8:44Speaker 4: his former offensive lineman. You inspired me, man, I mean
- 8:48Speaker 4: that was an inspirational performance. Toughness, physical, mental, How do
- 8:54Speaker 4: you do it?
- 8:55Speaker 6: Well?
- 8:55Speaker 7: We got through it. We got through it. That's the
- 8:57Speaker 7: game you find through injuries. That's part of it. We
- 8:59Speaker 7: gotta get better. I wasn't good enough tonight, but it
- 9:02Speaker 7: was good enough to win, good enough to win.
- 9:04Speaker 4: And I'll tell you, man, I mean the leadership that
- 9:06Speaker 4: you showed tonight. I mean you lifted your football team
- 9:10Speaker 4: by just going out there and doing what you did.
- 9:12Speaker 4: I mean, I'm not sure that you have a full
- 9:15Speaker 4: I guess you probably do have a full grasp of
- 9:17Speaker 4: what you mean to this football team. Was that part
- 9:20Speaker 4: of your thought process whether you we're gonna play or not?
- 9:23Speaker 1: Yeah, well we needed this one.
- 9:24Speaker 7: We needed this one. You can't go in three and
- 9:26Speaker 7: expect to reach the goals that you want to reach.
- 9:29Speaker 7: I know it's a long season, but you start out
- 9:32Speaker 7: owing three, it's gonna it's going to sell you back.
- 9:35Speaker 7: So we needed this one bad. So I wanted to
- 9:37Speaker 7: be out there for my guys.
- 9:38Speaker 4: I'll give you a stat to back up your comment
- 9:40Speaker 4: on that two hundred and fifty one game. Since the
- 9:43Speaker 4: Super Bowl era two hundred and fifty one teams have
- 9:45Speaker 4: started owing three, six have made the playoffs.
- 9:49Speaker 1: So it's big.
- 9:50Speaker 4: This is big now since twenty twenty when they redid
- 9:54Speaker 4: the playoff format, one in two teams thirty almost one
- 9:57Speaker 4: out of every three make the playoffs.
- 9:59Speaker 5: This was huge.
- 10:00Speaker 1: It wouldn't Yeah, we needed it.
- 10:01Speaker 7: We needed a bad defense stepped up big time. They
- 10:04Speaker 7: played really well all night. Oline played really well all
- 10:06Speaker 7: night as well. We got a lot to improve on,
- 10:09Speaker 7: but it's a good start.
- 10:10Speaker 4: And finally, was there any point in the game where
- 10:14Speaker 4: man suck a jazzed a little bit on me? I mean,
- 10:16Speaker 4: or did you did you have to fight through anything
- 10:18Speaker 4: like that or how did it go for it?
- 10:20Speaker 2: No?
- 10:20Speaker 7: No, we got through it. We got through it. So
- 10:21Speaker 7: I I'm feeling good. It's gonna feel better this week.
- 10:23Speaker 7: It's just gonna take time. So we'll take it day
- 10:27Speaker 7: by day, and.
- 10:29Speaker 4: I guess I lied one fund. When you get hit
- 10:31Speaker 4: like you did, I was like, man, I was holding
- 10:33Speaker 4: my brother. I might come on, Joe, get up, man.
- 10:35Speaker 4: I mean that Did you feel anything on that or
- 10:38Speaker 4: was that just at another day at the office.
- 10:40Speaker 7: Another day at the office.
- 10:41Speaker 1: That's that's football.
- 10:42Speaker 7: You're gonna get hit. Defense alignement are too good. They're
- 10:45Speaker 7: gonna get back there. It's you just gotta take them
- 10:46Speaker 7: and move on to the next one.
- 10:49Speaker 2: The Bengals Booth podcast is brought to you by Kettering Health,
- 10:52Speaker 2: the official health care provider of the Bengals. With more

- 11:05Speaker 2: The Bengals still have not scored an offensive touchdown in
- 11:09Speaker 2: the first half this year, but on their first possession
- 11:12Speaker 2: of the second half, they put together a ten plays,
- 11:15Speaker 2: seventy five yard drive that ended with Joe Mixon's fourteen
- 11:19Speaker 2: yard touchdown run. It gave them a lead they never relinquished.
- 11:24Speaker 2: Joe finished with nineteen carries for sixty five yards to
- 11:28Speaker 2: help the Bengals avoid zero to three. Joe, how badly
- 11:33Speaker 2: did you need this tonight?
- 11:34Speaker 4: You needed a.
- 11:35Speaker 8: Bet, you know, as a unit, as a whole team.
- 11:38Speaker 8: It was ugly first half, but you know we got
- 11:41Speaker 8: it together, came out with the dough. It was the
- 11:43Speaker 8: most important.
- 11:43Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 11:44Speaker 1: So it's a.
- 11:45Speaker 8: Great thing, a great villain and half described the touchdown run. Yeah, man,
- 11:50Speaker 8: so pretty much got a double team up to the
- 11:53Speaker 8: linebacker and it blocked they will, I hit it backside
- 11:57Speaker 8: cut back and just you know, ran a safety and
- 12:01Speaker 8: ran into the touchdown.
- 12:02Speaker 5: What was it mean?
- 12:03Speaker 2: Everybody in the room that Joe Burrow goutted it out
- 12:05Speaker 2: and played.
- 12:07Speaker 8: I mean, it was a great thing man, to you know,
- 12:09Speaker 8: show his grit and you know, his will and want
- 12:11Speaker 8: two to pull up with us and to play this
- 12:13Speaker 8: here Monday night and come through and deliver.
- 12:16Speaker 5: So it was a great thing for us.
- 12:18Speaker 2: Six sacks to take aways for the defense against a
- 12:20Speaker 2: really good offense. What'd you think?
- 12:22Speaker 5: Man? They played their ass off. They played great football.
- 12:26Speaker 8: All of them guys was hyped up. They was playing
- 12:28Speaker 8: with energy and it was all will and want two
- 12:30Speaker 8: and I'm just you know, happy to them guys. Was
- 12:32Speaker 8: getting to the quarterback and they always looking damn good,
- 12:35Speaker 8: so you know, I'm just happy for them.
- 12:37Speaker 2: It's really hard to come back from zero to three
- 12:40Speaker 2: to make the playoffs.
- 12:41Speaker 1: So to get this one, how important is it to
- 12:43Speaker 1: the group.
- 12:45Speaker 5: It was very important.
- 12:46Speaker 8: We've been in this position before and we didn't got
- 12:49Speaker 8: out of it and obviously got on top and real close.
- 12:53Speaker 5: To the finish line.
- 12:54Speaker 8: So I think we'll get back as long as, you know,
- 12:57Speaker 8: we just keep handling it, handling it one week at
- 12:59Speaker 8: a time, one day at a time, just keep going
- 13:02Speaker 8: and keep studying, doing all the little things, and I
- 13:04Speaker 8: feel like we'll be in a great position.
- 13:06Speaker 5: Man.
- 13:07Speaker 2: Is it elation or relief to get the win tonight?
- 13:11Speaker 5: It was more so.
- 13:12Speaker 8: We firmly got that first one out of the way,
- 13:15Speaker 8: and uh, it's a big si relief and now it's
- 13:17Speaker 8: time to you know, get ready for Tennessee.
- 13:22Speaker 2: Perhaps the biggest key to the win with Cincinnati's pass rush,
- 13:25Speaker 2: the Bengals had six sacks and ten quarterback hits. Trey
- 13:29Speaker 2: Hendricks said had two of the sacks and two more
- 13:32Speaker 2: that were negated by penalties. The Bengals also had a
- 13:35Speaker 2: pair of takeaways on interceptions by linebacker Logan Wilson bog proud.
- 13:42Speaker 2: Are you of the entire group tonight?
- 13:45Speaker 10: Yeah?
- 13:45Speaker 6: When we stayed together the entire game and found a
- 13:47Speaker 6: way to win. Sometimes it's not always pretty to get
- 13:50Speaker 6: wins in this league, and that's a good team. Got
- 13:52Speaker 6: a lot of respect for him and at the end
- 13:54Speaker 6: of the day, we're fund about to get to win.
- 13:55Speaker 5: That's the most fun thing.
- 13:56Speaker 2: We'll get to your interceptions, I promise, But the pass
- 13:58Speaker 2: rush sacks a couple that were negated by penalties for
- 14:03Speaker 2: pressure rush relentless.
- 14:04Speaker 5: Absolutely.
- 14:05Speaker 6: I mean even there are all my interceptions, there was
- 14:06Speaker 6: a tim ball that night, so I was when that
- 14:08Speaker 6: most pressure.
- 14:09Speaker 5: So we were getting after all night. I'm not letting
- 14:11Speaker 5: him get comftable, because.
- 14:12Speaker 6: If you let a quarterback like that get comfortable, he's
- 14:13Speaker 6: actually going to pick your apartment.
- 14:15Speaker 2: All right, let's talk about the interceptions now, you described one.
- 14:19Speaker 2: You've had a knack for this throughout your NFL career.
- 14:21Speaker 2: I think that's nine picks now, yeah.
- 14:23Speaker 6: Yeah, I mean you got to take the ones that
- 14:24Speaker 6: they come to you. And I had two opportunities to
- 14:26Speaker 6: make play on the ball and I just ended up
- 14:28Speaker 6: making workplace.
- 14:29Speaker 2: What it means that Joe answered the Bell and played
- 14:32Speaker 2: this game.
- 14:32Speaker 6: Yeah, it's a tough, gutsy performance from our franchise quarterback.
- 14:36Speaker 6: You know, he doesn't need to be coming out you're
- 14:37Speaker 6: going to do that, but he had the sands, the
- 14:38Speaker 6: important on at the end. That's so, this is the
- 14:41Speaker 6: type of guy you want leading this team, lead this organization.
- 14:44Speaker 5: That's why I'm paying the big bucks.
- 14:45Speaker 2: I'm always hesitant to use the term must win. It's
- 14:48Speaker 2: so early in the season, a lot of things can happen,
- 14:51Speaker 2: but it's obviously a critically important win.
- 14:53Speaker 4: Yes.
- 14:54Speaker 6: Absolutely, you always want to get back in the win
- 14:55Speaker 6: columb You don't want to go in three you start.
- 14:57Speaker 5: The season because then your chances obviously.
- 14:58Speaker 6: Of getting to the playoffs or pretty slim. We understood that,
- 15:01Speaker 6: and we kind of view this as a game we
- 15:03Speaker 6: needed to win anyway in front of our homecount and
- 15:05Speaker 6: they they'd certainly helped the sign.
- 15:07Speaker 2: The Rams offense was off to a great start this season.
- 15:10Speaker 2: To shut them down to that extent, it was a
- 15:12Speaker 2: pretty remarkable performance.
- 15:14Speaker 5: Yeah. Absolutely.
- 15:15Speaker 6: I mean, we had a good game plan all week,
- 15:16Speaker 6: best we can practice going in and we were able
- 15:19Speaker 6: to execute.
- 15:20Speaker 5: Grants on the way. Thank you.
- 15:22Speaker 2: We had to win the Bengals are one and two
- 15:24Speaker 2: and a game behind the other three teams in the
- 15:26Speaker 2: AFC North Pittsburgh, Baltimore, and Cleveland are all two and one.
- 15:31Speaker 2: The Ravens and Browns face each other this week in Cleveland.
- 15:34Speaker 2: The Steelers have a road game at Houston. Now let's
- 15:38Speaker 2: hear from head coach Zach Taylor, who spent a few
- 15:41Speaker 2: minutes with Lap after the game.
- 15:43Speaker 4: Win number one. It's always hardest to get the first one,
- 15:46Speaker 4: and you got it.
- 15:47Speaker 5: Yeah, you're speaking the truth. You know.
- 15:49Speaker 10: It was like pulling teeth to get this first win.
- 15:51Speaker 10: But now that we got that off our back, you're
- 15:52Speaker 10: gonna see this team free up. And by the way,
- 15:54Speaker 10: we know how to play.
- 15:56Speaker 4: You got that lead and then you built on the lead.
- 15:58Speaker 4: I mean, it's took a while to get that first
- 16:01Speaker 4: lead of the season. How different is it calling plays
- 16:04Speaker 4: when you're calling plays with the lead.
- 16:06Speaker 10: Yeah, it's nine to day different, you know. And it
- 16:08Speaker 10: allows the defense to play a lot free er too.
- 16:10Speaker 10: There's not so much pressure on them to give up
- 16:12Speaker 10: points and the other team expand on the lead. So
- 16:14Speaker 10: I thought in the second half, we had great team
- 16:16Speaker 10: effort in all three phases and allowed us to get away.
- 16:18Speaker 2: With this one.
- 16:19Speaker 4: What can you say about Joe Burrow? I mean he
- 16:21Speaker 4: was inspirational as a former player. I'm like, boy, this dude,
- 16:24Speaker 4: I'd follow him anywhere. If he told me to put
- 16:26Speaker 4: on a gasoline suit and walk through Hell, I'd do it.
- 16:28Speaker 10: Yeah, we can't take it for granted. You know, a
- 16:30Speaker 10: guy playing through an injury like that at the position
- 16:32Speaker 10: he is, there's so much mental that goes on and
- 16:35Speaker 10: he's got to deal with the physical as well, and
- 16:37Speaker 10: so probably that he's our quarterback.
- 16:38Speaker 4: What about Jamar Chase twelve receptions for one hundred and
- 16:42Speaker 4: forty one yards, one short of the team record, a
- 16:45Speaker 4: career high for him obviously. How big was Jamar today?
- 16:48Speaker 10: Yeah, it's tough because they were trying to cloud him
- 16:49Speaker 10: and move around with them the whole game, and so
- 16:51Speaker 10: we were just finding different ways to get him the
- 16:53Speaker 10: ball and he made it paid off for us big
- 16:55Speaker 10: time whenever he was going to get his hands in
- 16:57Speaker 10: the ball.
- 16:58Speaker 4: Did the la Rams defensively do anything that you didn't anticipate?
- 17:02Speaker 4: Made quick adjustments if they did.
- 17:04Speaker 10: Yeah, they play a lot of two say if you looks,
- 17:06Speaker 10: try to keep things in front, minimize the explosives. Let
- 17:08Speaker 10: Aaron Donald go to work. And I thought our offensive
- 17:11Speaker 10: line did an outstanding job controlling their front and allowing
- 17:14Speaker 10: Joe to have the time to throw the ball.
- 17:16Speaker 4: I thought both defenses were tough to work against. Aaron Donald,
- 17:20Speaker 4: obviously inside is a dominant figure. Trey Hendrickson on the edge,
- 17:24Speaker 4: he had four sacks, only two of them counted. Unfortunately
- 17:26Speaker 4: there were a couple that were deleted by penalty. But
- 17:29Speaker 4: he was given Thomas a real world of problems on
- 17:33Speaker 4: that edge.
- 17:33Speaker 5: He sure was. And Trey had a great game.
- 17:35Speaker 10: And usually when he's having a great game and these
- 17:37Speaker 10: the other guys are doing their job and eating the
- 17:39Speaker 10: box as well, and he's finished it off. So really
- 17:41Speaker 10: proud of our defense as a whole today.
- 17:43Speaker 4: The defense third down, they were zero for ten. They
- 17:47Speaker 4: go one for eleven because they get a third down
- 17:50Speaker 4: on the touchdown, So they were zero for three in
- 17:53Speaker 4: the red zone and they get the third down, they're
- 17:55Speaker 4: only third down conversion, they're only touchdown on that same play.
- 17:58Speaker 4: But that is a dominant performance.
- 18:00Speaker 5: It sure is.
- 18:00Speaker 10: You know, when a team can't extend the drives to
- 18:02Speaker 10: where they are and they got to be so efficient
- 18:04Speaker 10: on first second down, makes it really difficult, and so
- 18:06Speaker 10: again our defense did a great job. Lou did a
- 18:08Speaker 10: great job mix up the calls, put them in really
- 18:10Speaker 10: good positions. That was great to see.
- 18:12Speaker 4: You had some difficulty on third down because you were
- 18:14Speaker 4: facing so many third and ten or more. It was crazy.
- 18:17Speaker 4: I mean in the first half all seven of you
- 18:19Speaker 4: third down conversions that weren't converted were ten yards or more,
- 18:23Speaker 4: and there were some false starts and penalties that created
- 18:25Speaker 4: problems for you. There's always things to clean up. That
- 18:28Speaker 4: seems to be a big one.
- 18:29Speaker 10: Yeah, first half we just didn't play good enough. Whether
- 18:31Speaker 10: it was penalties, whether it was bad play calls to
- 18:33Speaker 10: get us out of rhythm, whether it was drops. We
- 18:36Speaker 10: just weren't weren't all on the same page. I thought
- 18:38Speaker 10: we'd really cleaned it up and did a much better
- 18:39Speaker 10: job than second eighty.
- 18:41Speaker 4: Joe Mixing all year long, has finished every run. I
- 18:44Speaker 4: mean I can't think of a run where he was
- 18:47Speaker 4: he's been knocked backwards. I mean, he seems to be
- 18:49Speaker 4: running behind his pads and finishing everything.
- 18:52Speaker 10: Yeah, I think Joe's giving us exactly what we need
- 18:54Speaker 10: from him and the run in the pass game. So
- 18:56Speaker 10: that's been really good to see.
- 18:57Speaker 4: Coach, Now, have you had a long week and now
- 19:00Speaker 4: you have the Monday night game? Have a short week.
- 19:03Speaker 4: I'm sure you've got this, this whole thing planned out,
- 19:05Speaker 4: but how difficult is a short week of preparation in
- 19:09Speaker 4: the National Football League.
- 19:10Speaker 10: It's challenging for the coaches. You've got to put together plan.
- 19:12Speaker 10: But they've already been working on that. So we'll get
- 19:14Speaker 10: the players extra day off of the legs here, do
- 19:16Speaker 10: a walk through on Wednesday, and get back to full
- 19:18Speaker 10: speed on Thursday.
- 19:19Speaker 4: Appreciate your time. Congratulations on the big win. Here we go. Now,
- 19:23Speaker 4: you guys are known for springing a few together, coach,
- 19:25Speaker 4: so we're expected it.
- 19:26Speaker 1: That's what we're going on the other man.
- 19:28Speaker 5: Appreciate you.

- 19:45Speaker 2: recap lap Last Monday night, the Steelers beat the Browns
- 19:51Speaker 2: because of Pittsburgh's defense, they scored a couple of touchdowns.
- 19:54Speaker 2: The offense really didn't do much. They didn't have to
- 19:57Speaker 2: The Bengals offense was better tonight then the Steelers offense
- 20:02Speaker 2: was last week. But the defense won this game.
- 20:04Speaker 4: There's no doubt. I mean when you look at some
- 20:07Speaker 4: of the critical stats. I mean, they were zero for
- 20:11Speaker 4: ten on their first ten third downs. They converted one
- 20:16Speaker 4: and it happened to be the touchdown at the end
- 20:18Speaker 4: of the football game. So they get a third down conversion.
- 20:21Speaker 4: They get their only red zone touchdown on the same play.
- 20:25Speaker 4: So three possessions before that, three field goals, one for
- 20:29Speaker 4: four in the red zone, one for eleven on third down?
- 20:32Speaker 4: Are you kidding me? Against the team that came into
- 20:36Speaker 4: the league. It came into the game second in the league,
- 20:39Speaker 4: and third down percentage, I mean, it's crazy. The Bengals
- 20:45Speaker 4: defense definitely stepped up and said, we've got a quarterback
- 20:49Speaker 4: that's sucking it up. He's inspirational, we're inspired. We're going
- 20:53Speaker 4: to play inspired, and they did.
- 20:55Speaker 2: The forty nine Ers have a great defense. The Rams
- 20:58Speaker 2: went up and down the field against San Francisco last week.
- 21:02Speaker 2: Now San fran ultimately won the game by seven, but
- 21:05Speaker 2: it wasn't because the forty nine Ers defense dominated. It
- 21:08Speaker 2: was because the offense was great, whereas the Bengals were
- 21:12Speaker 2: able to do a much better job against that Rams
- 21:15Speaker 2: offense than even the great forty nine Ers defense did.
- 21:17Speaker 4: Absolutely, they controlled the ground game that wasn't an issue.
- 21:21Speaker 4: And then they teed off on Stafford, I mean teed
- 21:23Speaker 4: off on him, and lu An Arumo was at his
- 21:26Speaker 4: doctor defense best. I mean he had seven guys at
- 21:29Speaker 4: times in the box and Staffords seeing ghost, who's coming,
- 21:33Speaker 4: who's not, you know, simulated pressures and it was it
- 21:37Speaker 4: was remarkable. And then you had Trey Henderson just dominating Thomas.
- 21:42Speaker 4: Thomas is gonna have nightmares TONI when he closes his eyes,
- 21:45Speaker 4: he's going to see ninety one blown by him up
- 21:47Speaker 4: the football field, tom So. And then you know, others
- 21:51Speaker 4: did their job as well. I mean, Trey was a
- 21:53Speaker 4: huge factor. He was the initial pressure guy, and other
- 21:57Speaker 4: guys were in the lanes they were supposed to be in.
- 21:59Speaker 4: Sam Hard got his sack and other guys, you know,
- 22:01Speaker 4: get pressures as well. But Matthew Stafford was not comfortable.
- 22:07Speaker 4: They made him get off his spot and he was
- 22:12Speaker 4: very inaccurate, and he came into the league, into the game,
- 22:15Speaker 4: I should say, top five in the league in attempts completions,
- 22:19Speaker 4: and yards, and tonight wasn't like that.
- 22:23Speaker 2: At six ZHO two tonight, Joe Burrow walked out of
- 22:26Speaker 2: the tunnel onto the field a little more than two
- 22:28Speaker 2: hours before kickoff. He sat down on the bench. Jamar
- 22:31Speaker 2: Chase sat down next to him. Jamar said he didn't
- 22:33Speaker 2: know at that point whether Joe was going to play
- 22:35Speaker 2: or not, and Jamar told him not to. He continues
- 22:39Speaker 2: to insist that he just wants Joe to take however
- 22:42Speaker 2: much time is needed to fully recover. Well, Joe Burrow
- 22:45Speaker 2: was going to do that. If he could walk tonight
- 22:48Speaker 2: without excruciating pain, he was going to play. And I think,
- 22:52Speaker 2: with the possible exception of Jamar Chase, everybody else in
- 22:56Speaker 2: that locker room really was wowed by the fact that
- 23:02Speaker 2: he would gut it out and do whatever was necessary
- 23:04Speaker 2: to win this game.
- 23:05Speaker 5: I agree with you.
- 23:06Speaker 4: I think his offensive line was inspired, the defense was inspired,
- 23:09Speaker 4: and Jamar had twelve catchers one hundred and forty one yards,
- 23:12Speaker 4: So he ended up the beneficiary of some pretty good stuff.
- 23:16Speaker 4: He came with an impersonal high, obviously, and came within
- 23:19Speaker 4: one of tying the franchise record of thirteen by Carl Pickens.
- 23:23Speaker 4: So and I did get a chance to talk to
- 23:27Speaker 4: Joe after the game, and he said, none worse for
- 23:29Speaker 4: the wear, but still have work to do. I mean physically.
- 23:33Speaker 4: You know, he's not done with the rehab or anything. Obviously,
- 23:37Speaker 4: he's never said he's one hundred percent, so he hasn't
- 23:39Speaker 4: been one hundred percent. But for him to go out
- 23:41Speaker 4: there and do what he did. I told him, man,
- 23:44Speaker 4: when you got smashed, I was holding my breath a
- 23:46Speaker 4: little bit. He goes, you know that happens. It's the
- 23:49Speaker 4: National Football League. Guys are gonna guys are gonna hit you.
- 23:52Speaker 4: But he, uh, he is a courageous dude.
- 23:56Speaker 5: Man.
- 23:57Speaker 4: He's one tough ombre physically and mentally.
- 23:59Speaker 2: If the Bengals and Rams don't meet in the Super Bowl,
- 24:02Speaker 2: the Bengals might never have to see Aaron Donald again,
- 24:06Speaker 2: which the offensive line would appreciate.
- 24:08Speaker 4: That dude is just a game wrecker. There's no other
- 24:13Speaker 4: way to put it. He is a human bowling ball.
- 24:19Speaker 4: You know, I thought, Okay, run at him because a
- 24:21Speaker 4: lot of times he's given that first step quickness thing
- 24:24Speaker 4: and if you kind of run on him, if he
- 24:25Speaker 4: guesses wrong, you can gash him. But he was knocking
- 24:27Speaker 4: people backwards I mean, you know, he's six feet tall
- 24:30Speaker 4: and he's two hundred and eighty pounds. I mean, it's ridiculous.
- 24:33Speaker 4: He is a fire hydrant that has extreme short space quickness.
- 24:38Speaker 4: He is a genetic rarity. There is no question about that.
- 24:42Speaker 4: And you know we talk all the time in the
- 24:44Speaker 4: offensive and defensive line about leverage pad level. He's automatically.
- 24:48Speaker 4: You have to come out in your hands and knees
- 24:50Speaker 4: to get under his pads. And he's so strong and
- 24:53Speaker 4: powerful and explosive. He's got that low pad level. Then
- 24:56Speaker 4: all that other stuff to follow that is a that
- 25:00Speaker 4: is a task, that's a tall order blocking that.
- 25:02Speaker 5: Dude.
- 25:03Speaker 2: I'm going to ask you a question I asked Joe Mixon.
- 25:06Speaker 2: Is the emotion tonight elation or relief?
- 25:10Speaker 5: That's a damn good question.
- 25:13Speaker 4: I think it's both, you know, I do think I
- 25:16Speaker 4: think elation. You know, it's hard to win in the NFL,
- 25:20Speaker 4: no matter who you're playing. As we saw, there's some
- 25:24Speaker 4: huge upsets this week. I mean, who expected the Jaguars
- 25:27Speaker 4: to get handled? Who expected Denver to give up seventy
- 25:30Speaker 4: points and and twenty six yards? I mean, there were
- 25:33Speaker 4: some crazy things that took place and Denver's defense could
- 25:36Speaker 4: go out next week and play like a top five defense,
- 25:39Speaker 4: like I think they really are. So you just never know.
- 25:42Speaker 4: So you take victories, you never take them for granted.
- 25:46Speaker 4: So there's some relief there, but I think there's elation
- 25:51Speaker 4: as well.
- 25:52Speaker 2: One of those upsets yesterday was also the Colts over
- 25:55Speaker 2: the Ravens in Baltimore, and Matt Gay was the hero
- 25:57Speaker 2: with four field goals of fifty three plus. Evan McPherson
- 26:01Speaker 2: didn't do that, but he didn't miss that by much.
- 26:04Speaker 2: Forty eight, forty nine, fifty three, fifty four and a
- 26:07Speaker 2: miss from fifty six. I guess it was. I mean,
- 26:10Speaker 2: we take his greatness for granted. A forty eight yard
- 26:14Speaker 2: field goal for him seems like a twenty two yard
- 26:17Speaker 2: field goal for most kickers.
- 26:19Speaker 4: It is incredible. I mean, the fifty six yarder had plenty.
- 26:23Speaker 4: He just you know, overcooked it a little bit, just
- 26:26Speaker 4: pulled it slightly and it hooked. It hooked wide left.
- 26:30Speaker 4: But man, this guy, when he when he strikes the ball,
- 26:33Speaker 4: it's like his his leg speed is incredible and I
- 26:38Speaker 4: don't know how he doesn't dislocate his leg from his
- 26:40Speaker 4: hip when he swings, swings as hard as he swings
- 26:43Speaker 4: all the time, but he is he is a unique
- 26:46Speaker 4: and special talent. And you know what a weapon when
- 26:51Speaker 4: you have somebody like that that you know, you know,
- 26:55Speaker 4: just like Baltimore experiences, when you have great kickers and
- 26:58Speaker 4: you know it's going to come down to a potential
- 27:01Speaker 4: game winner, and all you have to do is, you know,
- 27:04Speaker 4: get the ball to the forty yard line, maybe even
- 27:07Speaker 4: the forty five. You might still have a shot. I
- 27:10Speaker 4: mean that that is ridiculous that that gives you. And defensively,
- 27:15Speaker 4: it changes the whole dynamic how you have to play defense.
- 27:17Speaker 4: I mean literally, I mean he's as big a game
- 27:20Speaker 4: changer as a kicker as Aaron Donald is as a
- 27:23Speaker 4: defensive lineman.
- 27:25Speaker 2: The sun is shining after the first win of the year.
- 27:28Speaker 2: There's only one undefeated team left in the AFC. That's Miami.
- 27:31Speaker 2: The Bengals are a game behind the first place team
- 27:34Speaker 2: in their division. It's amazing what one victory does for
- 27:39Speaker 2: the collective mindset of the team.
- 27:41Speaker 4: It really is. I mean, we talked about it before
- 27:45Speaker 4: the game. If the Bengals had gone oh to three
- 27:48Speaker 4: since the Super Bowl era, I think it's two hundred
- 27:51Speaker 4: and fifty three times or whatever it is. Teams had
- 27:54Speaker 4: started oh to three and only six had gone to
- 27:57Speaker 4: the playoffs. Now with the one and two records, the
- 28:00Speaker 4: playoff format changed in twenty twenty. Almost one out of
- 28:03Speaker 4: every three is going to the playoffs with a one
- 28:05Speaker 4: and two record over thirty percent. So this one was
- 28:09Speaker 4: important and they got it up.
- 28:12Speaker 2: Next to road game against the one and two Tennessee Titans,
- 28:16Speaker 2: who lost to Cleveland on Sunday twenty seven to three.
- 28:20Speaker 2: The Titans had a total of ninety four offensive yards
- 28:24Speaker 2: in that game. They had more punts seven than first
- 28:29Speaker 2: downs six. The Bengals Booth Podcast is brought to you

- 28:45Speaker 2: Now time for this week's fun fact segment, where you
- 28:48Speaker 2: get to know the person under the pads. Time for
- 28:53Speaker 2: some fun facts with running back Chase Brown. You are
- 28:56Speaker 2: from Canada, London, Ontario, specifically roughly the same distance from Toronto,
- 29:01Speaker 2: Detroit and Buffalo. Is there anything unique to Canada that
- 29:06Speaker 2: you miss when you're in the US.
- 29:09Speaker 9: The food you know you have moms cooking, but also
- 29:12Speaker 9: like Canadian signatures like poutine. You know, there's a couple
- 29:16Speaker 9: other things that come to mind, like an elephant here.
- 29:18Speaker 9: It's just like this sweet, sugary kind of deep fried thing.
- 29:23Speaker 9: But just a little stuff like that.
- 29:25Speaker 2: You have a twin brother, Sydney, and you are mirror twins.
- 29:30Speaker 2: I am familiar with identical twins. Is there a difference?
- 29:34Speaker 9: So we're identical visually, but we're mirrored in different ways.
- 29:39Speaker 5: Like he writes with his he's.
- 29:41Speaker 9: Right hand dominant. I'm left hand dominant. You know my
- 29:45Speaker 9: mom of going in the detail of our hair curling
- 29:47Speaker 9: opposite ways, and just just kind of think of it
- 29:51Speaker 9: along the lines of that we do things opposite fascinating.
- 29:55Speaker 2: It's a term I had never heard. Says Sydney is
- 29:58Speaker 2: a great athlete. He's playing for the philadel Via Eagles.
- 30:01Speaker 2: How much did the two of you push each other
- 30:03Speaker 2: growing up.
- 30:04Speaker 9: Every single day, whether there's a practice even in the
- 30:07Speaker 9: classroom sometimes, but just having somebody that has the same goal,
- 30:11Speaker 9: same mindset, in the same standard, it's hard not to
- 30:16Speaker 9: live up to your fullest being pushed your fullest on
- 30:18Speaker 9: a daily basis. So having him was definitely the reason
- 30:20Speaker 9: why I'm sitting here today.
- 30:22Speaker 2: We're doing fun facts with Chase Brown. London, Ontario is
- 30:25Speaker 2: a hockey town, but you too obviously gravitated toward football.
- 30:28Speaker 2: What's you football like in London, Ontario?
- 30:31Speaker 9: It's growing. When we were playing, it wasn't the biggest thing.
- 30:35Speaker 9: It was kind of like a secondary sport for most
- 30:37Speaker 9: kids during the fall, but you know, starting to turn
- 30:41Speaker 9: more into a primary sport where kids are motivated to
- 30:44Speaker 9: play professionally and take the sport as far as I can.
- 30:48Speaker 2: CFL rules or American Football.
- 30:50Speaker 9: Rules, American football rules when you're young, as soon as
- 30:52Speaker 9: you're at the high school, that's where those CFL rules
- 30:55Speaker 9: start kicking in.
- 30:57Speaker 2: Your life. Story could be a movie and maybe it
- 31:00Speaker 2: will be someday. There were periods of poverty, there was illness,
- 31:06Speaker 2: there was drug addiction in the family. Did it feel
- 31:09Speaker 2: hopeless at any point?
- 31:11Speaker 5: You don't know.
- 31:14Speaker 9: Always been highly motivated no matter the situation, and just
- 31:18Speaker 9: having my brother, you know, building that connection with each other,
- 31:22Speaker 9: just knowing right from wrong and you know, stearing each
- 31:25Speaker 9: other in the right direction. Not once did it feel hopeless.
- 31:30Speaker 9: Was I worry about my family? Of course, like that's
- 31:32Speaker 9: I think that's a normal emotion. But uh, you know,
- 31:37Speaker 9: I think to get to where we ended up, it
- 31:41Speaker 9: had a lot to do with our mindset and just
- 31:44Speaker 9: ignoring the outside noise and the situation I was there
- 31:48Speaker 9: in front of us and just seeing it through every
- 31:50Speaker 9: single time.
- 31:51Speaker 2: What was the low point?
- 31:53Speaker 9: I would probably say when my mom got sick, that
- 31:55Speaker 9: was probably the lowest point. We were still in Canada,
- 31:59Speaker 9: rough situation going on at home, but at the end
- 32:01Speaker 9: of the day, we always had football and I was
- 32:03Speaker 9: a way to get away from that and keep ourselves focused.
- 32:07Speaker 2: So at the age of sixteen, your mom drove you
- 32:10Speaker 2: and your brother to Florida. Yeah, you started playing football
- 32:13Speaker 2: at a prep school, started attending that prep school. How
- 32:16Speaker 2: did it change your life?
- 32:18Speaker 9: Oh, my gosh, it's just in so many, so many
- 32:20Speaker 9: different ways. First of all academically. Second of all, you know,
- 32:24Speaker 9: we started building it like a routine that is honestly
- 32:28Speaker 9: that we keep doing to this day. You know, just
- 32:31Speaker 9: staying on top of everything, prioritizing your work, being organized,
- 32:37Speaker 9: just just little things that we didn't have before going
- 32:39Speaker 9: down there, and just thinking about how those just those
- 32:44Speaker 9: little skills developed into big time skills in our life.
- 32:48Speaker 5: Especially with the careers that we're in right now.
- 32:51Speaker 2: You lived in the host family. Describe that experience.
- 32:54Speaker 5: Weird at first. I mean, you barely know them.
- 32:56Speaker 9: You're trying to grasp a fuel fill them on a
- 32:58Speaker 9: daily basis, and then you just start clicking, and you know,
- 33:04Speaker 9: it feels like you're at home. You start getting less
- 33:07Speaker 9: and less homesick, and you know, we we became really
- 33:10Speaker 9: close with the Yates family, and we still talked to
- 33:12Speaker 9: them on daily basis to this day. They follow both
- 33:15Speaker 9: of us closely, and you know, love them to death.
- 33:18Speaker 9: But great people. I just I just can't even imagine
- 33:21Speaker 9: from there there and you know, just inviting two sixteen
- 33:25Speaker 9: year old boys to come live with them to you know,
- 33:28Speaker 9: study and.
- 33:28Speaker 5: Play football high school boys. So I just I just
- 33:31Speaker 5: can't imagine what they were thinking we're doing.
- 33:34Speaker 2: Friend facts from Chase Brown. Your prep school team didn't
- 33:36Speaker 2: lose a game in two years, and you and her
- 33:38Speaker 2: brother got Division one scholarship offers and eventually wound up
- 33:41Speaker 2: together at Illinois. But you started out at Western Michigan
- 33:45Speaker 2: with the dream of becoming a pilot. Correct.
- 33:48Speaker 5: That was it.
- 33:49Speaker 9: I want to be a pilot. And that's honestly almost
- 33:51Speaker 9: all I cared about the moment. I was so focused
- 33:54Speaker 9: on getting the best of both worlds, and that was
- 33:58Speaker 9: the flight school number one, and then playing Division on
- 34:02Speaker 9: football number two, and that kind of swapped once I
- 34:05Speaker 9: got there.
- 34:05Speaker 5: You just realized why.
- 34:08Speaker 9: I realized quickly that the flight thing wasn't really gonna happen,
- 34:13Speaker 9: and then football was my main priority. And then in
- 34:15Speaker 9: the back of my head, you know, why why do
- 34:19Speaker 9: that without my brother?
- 34:20Speaker 5: Right?
- 34:21Speaker 9: And you know, I eventually put my name in the
- 34:23Speaker 9: portal end up Illinois and the kind of the rest
- 34:25Speaker 9: is history. We got back in the routine of pushing
- 34:28Speaker 9: each other every single day, and it just transfer the
- 34:30Speaker 9: football field.
- 34:32Speaker 2: You had a tremendous career with a fighting a Lina.
- 34:34Speaker 2: You were fourth in the nation in rushing yards last year.
- 34:37Speaker 2: What was the highlight of your college experience?
- 34:40Speaker 5: Winning?
- 34:42Speaker 9: I mean, we we put together a good season that
- 34:45Speaker 9: that the city, the school, the community extremely excited for
- 34:53Speaker 9: kind of like what we have going on here.
- 34:54Speaker 5: Just you know, you you once you start winning games, you.
- 34:58Speaker 9: Know, you you give something the people to care about, right,
- 35:02Speaker 9: And that was that was the biggest highlight, is you know,
- 35:06Speaker 9: just doing my best for that university all four years
- 35:10Speaker 9: I was there and just leaving feeling like, you know,
- 35:14Speaker 9: I left the place better than it was when I
- 35:18Speaker 9: first got there.
- 35:20Speaker 2: You and your brother were both selected in this year's
- 35:22Speaker 2: NFL Draft. Sydney went in the third round of Philly.
- 35:24Speaker 2: He went in the fifth round of Cincinnati. Described the
- 35:27Speaker 2: draft experience.
- 35:28Speaker 9: Stressful, and then seeing my brother go on day two
- 35:32Speaker 9: and then having to wait and kind of figure out
- 35:34Speaker 9: where I was gonna go. I mean, it's just like
- 35:37Speaker 9: an instant wait off your shoulders and you can start
- 35:41Speaker 9: to visualize where you're gonna be and who you're gonna
- 35:45Speaker 9: be around as far as teammates.
- 35:46Speaker 5: And I was extremely excited as.
- 35:49Speaker 9: Soon as I got my name called, and you know,
- 35:51Speaker 9: I got to celebrate that with my brother and you
- 35:53Speaker 9: know the rest of my family. It will be a
- 35:54Speaker 9: moment I remember.
- 35:55Speaker 5: The rest of my life.
- 35:56Speaker 2: Time for some wild card topics now with Chase Brown.
- 36:00Speaker 2: Do you have any hidden talents I can juggle?
- 36:04Speaker 9: I mean, I don't know if there's a hidden talent
- 36:05Speaker 9: I can cook. Yeah, I'd say juggling and cooking, and
- 36:09Speaker 9: probably my secret talents that go on outside of the facility.
- 36:13Speaker 2: How many objects can you juggle?
- 36:15Speaker 5: Three?
- 36:15Speaker 9: I'm not like a circus person. But you know, three
- 36:20Speaker 9: is impressive enough to me.
- 36:22Speaker 2: That's three more than I can juggle. What are you
- 36:25Speaker 2: terrible at laundry?
- 36:27Speaker 9: Probably I'm kind of just I throw everything in at
- 36:30Speaker 9: once and then reap the results of that.
- 36:35Speaker 2: So I would say laundry, separate those whites and those colors.
- 36:40Speaker 5: Yup. You need to get better at that.
- 36:41Speaker 2: What is the biggest misconception that Americans have about Canada?
- 36:46Speaker 5: We don't live in igloos.
- 36:47Speaker 9: Number one, the accent isn't as crazy as people make
- 36:56Speaker 9: it sound down here. And number three, everybody's super nice,
- 37:01Speaker 9: but majority of people I us.
- 37:05Speaker 2: Do you have any tattoos, and if so, what's the
- 37:08Speaker 2: most meaningful.
- 37:11Speaker 9: I have a few tattoos. The most meaningful probably the
- 37:16Speaker 9: ones on my shoulders. It's my mom's birthday and my
- 37:19Speaker 9: grandma's birthday, just to women that are extremely important to me,
- 37:22Speaker 9: and just having that tattooed on me is something that
- 37:27Speaker 9: I want to do for them.
- 37:28Speaker 2: Final fun fact for Chase Brown. This one's a little
- 37:31Speaker 2: bit deep. If you could meet anybody in history, living
- 37:36Speaker 2: or deceased, athlete, entertainer, statesmen, whoever it might be, who
- 37:42Speaker 2: would that person be?
- 37:45Speaker 9: I would probably say, just as far as mindset and
- 37:49Speaker 9: competitive attitude, it's a Kobe Bryant. He's you know, beast
- 37:54Speaker 9: on the court, but his mindset is really what's separating
- 37:57Speaker 9: from others.
- 37:58Speaker 2: So do you try to the mama mentality.
- 38:02Speaker 9: In some whereas Yeah, like definitely focused. I'm pretty serious, dude,
- 38:07Speaker 9: I guess when it comes to work, so uh yeah, and.
- 38:12Speaker 5: With the work environment for shore, It's.
- 38:14Speaker 2: Great to have you here in Cincinnati. Best of luck
- 38:16Speaker 2: the rest of the year, and thanks for the time.
- 38:17Speaker 5: Thank you.
