- 0:06Speaker 1: And here we go solo Joe without the introduction. Yeah,
- 0:15Speaker 1: Rob is dealing with something. I don't exactly know what it's. Okay,
- 0:21Speaker 1: I have some good stuff for you anyway, regarding my segment,
- 0:25Speaker 1: and hopefully he comes in for the second half, but
- 0:30Speaker 1: if not, we are going to talk about some DPD
- 0:35Speaker 1: lesser known officers. And it's kind of a follow up
- 0:41Speaker 1: on our last week's show where we talked about Lavelle
- 0:45Speaker 1: and our members only, where we talked about Elsie Graves
- 0:50Speaker 1: and yeah we are here we go solo Joe. So
- 1:00Speaker 1: I just want to start off with something because I
- 1:02Speaker 1: think some people misinterpreted what Rob and I were trying
- 1:07Speaker 1: to convey last week. Rob and I had a few
- 1:11Speaker 1: long discussions about how maybe to keep the show a
- 1:16Speaker 1: little bit shorter and not go on these two hour,
- 1:19Speaker 1: three hour marathon shows, and we were accused by a
- 1:23Speaker 1: bunch of people keyboard Warriors in the comment section of
- 1:27Speaker 1: hiding things behind the paywall. And no, we're not Jefferson Morley,
- 1:34Speaker 1: We're not in this for money. Robison had a job
- 1:37Speaker 1: for like the same job for like thirty years. I
- 1:40Speaker 1: have a job consulting job and I'm taking a class
- 1:46Speaker 1: a paralegal class. So we don't do this for money.
- 1:49Speaker 1: I think you guys can tell the people that tune
- 1:51Speaker 1: in regularly that we do this for passion. And the
- 1:56Speaker 1: people that in the comment section accusing us of you know, hiding, hiding.
- 2:03Speaker 2: Research behind a paywall and and all this other stuff. No,
- 2:09Speaker 2: just like we said, we are experimenting as the landscape
- 2:13Speaker 2: of the podcast universe is changing. And just like we
- 2:18Speaker 2: decided to go live when I came aboard every week
- 2:25Speaker 2: and the date was, you know, two and a half
- 2:30Speaker 2: years ago, we haven't changed our members only format. We
- 2:35Speaker 2: have been doing members only since October sixteenth, twenty twenty four.
- 2:41Speaker 2: So for all you skufuzas in the comments section, a
- 2:45Speaker 2: very nice fuck off. And I know I could speak
- 2:50Speaker 2: to I speak for Rob with that. He was going
- 2:55Speaker 2: to go on a Corey Hughes rantal. I guess we'll
- 2:57Speaker 2: wait on that. But yeah, so let's get into it.
- 3:05Speaker 2: It's gonna be really hard for me to for me
- 3:07Speaker 2: to keep.
- 3:08Speaker 1: Up with the chat as I work with these layers
- 3:11Speaker 1: and share my PowerPoint and read from it. So if
- 3:15Speaker 1: I don't see your comment or your question, please keep
- 3:19Speaker 1: it for the end. I appreciate that, and we're just
- 3:28Speaker 1: gonna have to keep it in one corner for now,
- 3:30Speaker 1: which is okay, right, all right, So here we have
- 3:34Speaker 1: the list of everyone, and I'm sorry about that. Everyone
- 3:38Speaker 1: in the basement during or some of them during the
- 3:44Speaker 1: personal transfer at the time of when leehard v Oswald
- 3:48Speaker 1: was shot by Jack Ruby. You have mister Forrest Sarles
- 3:51Speaker 1: of the Secret Service. Mister Thomas Kelly of the Secret Service.
- 3:56Speaker 1: I'm sorry about that, guys, Jim Book out of the FBI.
- 4:00Speaker 1: City Detective L. D. Montgomery, L. C. Graves, who if
- 4:05Speaker 1: you are a member. We went into a great detail
- 4:08Speaker 1: and I have a couple of slides on him later
- 4:11Speaker 1: in the power point E. I believe it's H. Beck,
- 4:16Speaker 1: Jim Levell, C W. Doherty, C W. Brown. You have
- 4:21Speaker 1: mister Harry Holmes of the Post Office Inspector's Office, Post
- 4:26Speaker 1: Office Inspector's Office. It's interesting recording. City Detective TL Baker,
- 4:33Speaker 1: and Captain J. W. Fritz. So this is a report
- 4:41Speaker 1: from C. I messed it up and with H because
- 4:47Speaker 1: it's hard to tell Doherty. On Sunday, November twenty fourth,
- 4:52Speaker 1: nineteen sixty three, at about nine thirty am, Captain Fritz
- 4:55Speaker 1: directed detectives JR. Levell, LC Graves and myself to go
- 5:01Speaker 1: to the fifth floor jail cell. You know what, Actually,
- 5:04Speaker 1: hold on one second. I am going to share this
- 5:10Speaker 1: first because this is the context and as you know,
- 5:18Speaker 1: we like context on this show. And if you don't
- 5:28Speaker 1: get the sound here, that is okay because we might
- 5:31Speaker 1: get copyrighted if we do it. Because it is from CNN,
- 5:36Speaker 1: we of course want to give them their credit. But
- 5:39Speaker 1: this is the fifty three second clip of the slaying
- 5:45Speaker 1: of OSWALTA eric Now.
- 5:48Speaker 2: The person.
- 5:53Speaker 3: Let me have it. I want to let out. Uh
- 6:01Speaker 3: gotta bridge.
- 6:03Speaker 1: It's Captain Furtz right here you could see level Graves
- 6:07Speaker 1: and Oswald coming out with him. Graves is on his
- 6:11Speaker 1: right arm Leavell on his left. You could hear the honking.
- 6:17Speaker 3: But there is Leon. He's been shot. Shot herey Oswald
- 6:25Speaker 3: has been shot. There's a man with a gun. Absolute panic,
- 6:30Speaker 3: absolute panic here in the basement of Dallas Police headquarters.
- 6:33Speaker 3: The detectives have their guns.
- 6:35Speaker 1: You're on.
- 6:36Speaker 3: There is no question about it. Oswald has been shot.
- 6:39Speaker 1: A blank blank rings fired into his stummay he is
- 6:43Speaker 1: he is shot.
- 6:47Speaker 3: The man has shot the man is the man that
- 6:50Speaker 3: shot the man.
- 6:56Speaker 1: So just to give that context. There you could see
- 7:00Speaker 1: all some of the skifuzas in the DPD that we
- 7:04Speaker 1: are going to be talking about, and meant to share
- 7:07Speaker 1: that first, I apologize.
- 7:15Speaker 2: And.
- 7:18Speaker 1: So we brought Oswalt to Captain Fritz's office where he
- 7:21Speaker 1: was interrogated by Captain Fritz, mister Kelly of the Secret Service,
- 7:25Speaker 1: mister Sorels of the Secret Service, and mister Holmes of
- 7:28Speaker 1: the Postal Department. They talked to Oswalt until about eleven
- 7:32Speaker 1: ten am. Hey thousand, Winston Smith from Scotland, thank you
- 7:39Speaker 1: for joining in. And mister Holmes. They talked to Oswalt
- 7:45Speaker 1: about eleven until about eleven ten am. Chief Curry came
- 7:50Speaker 1: into Captain Fritz's office when the interrogation was going on.
- 7:55Speaker 1: At the end of the interrogation, Captain Fritz gave me
- 7:58Speaker 1: the keys to his car and told me to park
- 8:03Speaker 1: it along the door from the jail office in the basement.
- 8:08Speaker 1: I went to the basement and unlocked Captain Fritz's car.
- 8:15Speaker 1: And I don't get what if they're talking about, like
- 8:17Speaker 1: a car that Fritz was using or was actually his
- 8:21Speaker 1: personal car, but and he proceeded to drive the car
- 8:25Speaker 1: into the driveway. There was a plain black police car
- 8:29Speaker 1: in front of me, and the officers who I could
- 8:31Speaker 1: not recognize, drove this car up the ramp to the
- 8:35Speaker 1: main street exit. I was backing Captain Fritz's car in
- 8:40Speaker 1: front of the jail office and was having trouble getting
- 8:43Speaker 1: through the news reporters that had jammed the ramp driveway.
- 8:49Speaker 1: So you could have obviously see there's a lot of
- 8:52Speaker 1: chaos going on, and how easy it could be for
- 8:58Speaker 1: mister Jack Ruby to get in there. While I was
- 9:01Speaker 1: backing up, I was turned around in the seat looking
- 9:05Speaker 1: back to keep from running over the reporters. Captain Fritz
- 9:10Speaker 1: came up, came out of the jail door, followed by
- 9:13Speaker 1: Jim Ovell, handcuffed to Oswalt. Detective Elsie Graves was to
- 9:17Speaker 1: Oswalt's left. They were walking to the car while I
- 9:21Speaker 1: was still moving the car back. Captain Fritz opened to
- 9:24Speaker 1: the right rear door of the car I was driving,
- 9:27Speaker 1: and I noticed a man moved quickly across the right
- 9:30Speaker 1: rear of the car. This man moved to Oswald and shot.
- 9:35Speaker 1: I recognized this man as Jack Ruby, a man I
- 9:39Speaker 1: had seen a few times before in previous years. Probably
- 9:50Speaker 1: pretty we're probably extending it there the timeline when Ruby
- 9:57Speaker 1: shot Detective Graves or when Ruby sh shot Oswalt. Detective
- 10:01Speaker 1: Graves grabbed the pistol Ruby had in his hand. The
- 10:05Speaker 1: crowd of reporters closed in with the police officers, and
- 10:08Speaker 1: I jumped out of his car and went into the
- 10:11Speaker 1: jail office. The officers had Ruby, and the detective level
- 10:16Speaker 1: was being unhandcuffed from Oswalt, because of course Levell was
- 10:22Speaker 1: handcuffed to Oswalt, and Elsie Graves only had Oswalt by
- 10:27Speaker 1: his left hand, a shoulder arm. I guess Captain Fritz
- 10:32Speaker 1: directed me to return to the basement and have the
- 10:34Speaker 1: supervisor's officer to obtain the names of everyone in the basement.
- 10:40Speaker 1: And I went to Captain C. E. Talbert and gave
- 10:45Speaker 1: him Captain Fritz's message. I then moved Captain Fritz's car
- 10:50Speaker 1: out of the driveway where the ambulance could get to
- 10:53Speaker 1: the jail office. When the ambulance came, I wrote it
- 10:56Speaker 1: in the ambulance with Oswald to Parkland Hospital. I stayed
- 11:01Speaker 1: at Parkland Hospital until Oswalt was pronounced dead Detective C. W.
- 11:06Speaker 1: Brown We'll get to his statement later, and I went
- 11:10Speaker 1: with Oswalt's body to the morgue where we waited. Where
- 11:17Speaker 1: we waited until doctor Earl Rose, who he was the
- 11:22Speaker 1: same guy who made the big The autopsy has to
- 11:27Speaker 1: be done in Texas, right, correct me if I'm wrong.
- 11:30Speaker 1: Chat made his preliminary pictures of the body prior to
- 11:34Speaker 1: the autopsy. I turned over Oswalt's clothing to doctor Earl Rose,
- 11:38Speaker 1: and he returned to the Homicide office in the City
- 11:42Speaker 1: Hall at approximately five thirty PM. I stayed in the
- 11:45Speaker 1: homicide office with mister Stewart and went through the property
- 11:50Speaker 1: of Oswalt. I'm guessing that's personal property. I made copies
- 11:54Speaker 1: of letters and identification form from Oswalt's property for mister Stewart.
- 12:00Speaker 1: I also made coffees of all the affid davids that
- 12:02Speaker 1: had been taken by the Homicide office and Sheriff's office
- 12:09Speaker 1: for mister Sorels of the Secret Service. So I want
- 12:16Speaker 1: to get to this guy, mister Earlson. Sorry, I'm looking
- 12:27Speaker 1: at the chat. At the chat as I do this,
- 12:35Speaker 1: there's some skuffoozery going on with W. J. Harrison's statements.
- 12:41Speaker 1: I think this is an undated statement. I think it's
- 12:46Speaker 1: his initial one, but it's undated. So I can't prove it.
- 12:50Speaker 1: About seven or eight minutes before the shooting, I assisted
- 12:53Speaker 1: a patrolman driving a squad car to go out to
- 12:56Speaker 1: Main Street ramp because the Commerce Street ramp was blocked.
- 13:00Speaker 1: About four or five minutes after this, Lieutenant Pierce drove
- 13:04Speaker 1: a squad car out of the Main Street ramp. I
- 13:08Speaker 1: assisted him in getting through the crowd. This was about
- 13:12Speaker 1: two or four minutes before the shooting. Okay, so pretty
- 13:20Speaker 1: short statement here. So what do you think they had
- 13:24Speaker 1: him do? Well? They made him write another one and
- 13:27Speaker 1: this is numbered WJ. Harrison number two, but seems like
- 13:34Speaker 1: it's cut off a little bit because I don't know
- 13:37Speaker 1: if you'd start it off with. After after we took
- 13:42Speaker 1: him in the jail office and was putting the hand
- 13:47Speaker 1: cuffed on him, he Jack said, I hope I killed
- 13:53Speaker 1: that son of a bitch. That was all he said
- 13:56Speaker 1: until I felt him on the fifth floor. Sorry, Cursive
- 14:04Speaker 1: left him on the fifth floor jail with some of
- 14:08Speaker 1: the detectives. Okay, Now this is also a statement from W. J.
- 14:15Speaker 1: Harrison on November twenty four to sixty three, But this
- 14:18Speaker 1: is typed, so of course it could have been backdated.
- 14:21Speaker 1: I do not know shooting of Lee Harvey Oswalt just
- 14:30Speaker 1: laughing at some of the comments as I perused them
- 14:32Speaker 1: very quickly, Sir, I was standing about halfway between the
- 14:39Speaker 1: west wall of the driveway and the rail as the
- 14:42Speaker 1: detectives brought still WJ. Harrison brought the prisoner out. Jack
- 14:48Speaker 1: Ruby came by me from my left side with the
- 14:51Speaker 1: gun in his hand. As he came by me, the
- 14:54Speaker 1: gun was about a foot from me in Jack's right hand.
- 15:00Speaker 1: Pretty specific here, guys. As he shot, I made a
- 15:03Speaker 1: move to get him and went to the floor with him,
- 15:07Speaker 1: as there was about six of us on him at
- 15:11Speaker 1: one time, and we just viewed this. Thank you the
- 15:15Speaker 1: double B. I don't know about slaying it, but I'm
- 15:18Speaker 1: trying here solo Joe. I tried to grab the hand
- 15:27Speaker 1: that held the pistol, and the pistol was knocked out
- 15:31Speaker 1: of Jack's hand after we were on the floor. And guys,
- 15:34Speaker 1: I want you to pay attention to this statement. The
- 15:39Speaker 1: pistol was knocked out of Jack's hand after we were
- 15:43Speaker 1: on the floor. So what happened to the pistol in
- 15:46Speaker 1: the aftermath. Well, we're going to get there, I promise,
- 15:50Speaker 1: I remember. Detectives kuchin Ha and Lowry being on him
- 16:00Speaker 1: as well as other officers. I cannot say whether he
- 16:05Speaker 1: Rob is coming. I just got a text he's gonna
- 16:09Speaker 1: get He's gonna get a good laugh out of this,
- 16:12Speaker 1: as well as other officers. I cannot say where he
- 16:15Speaker 1: Jack Ruby came from. All I know is that he
- 16:18Speaker 1: came from the rear and left of us. After we
- 16:21Speaker 1: took him into the jail office and was should be
- 16:25Speaker 1: were putting the handcuffs on him. He Jack said, I
- 16:29Speaker 1: hope I killed the s ov.
- 16:32Speaker 3: Lee.
- 16:34Speaker 1: That is all he said until I left him on
- 16:37Speaker 1: the fifth floor jail with some of the detectives. And
- 16:40Speaker 1: it's very neatly signed W. J. Harrison. So I'm thinking
- 16:46Speaker 1: here they had this Skufuza who's a patrolman in the
- 16:51Speaker 1: Juvenile Bureau, kind of retype his statement right, maybe possibly backdated. No, no,
- 17:00Speaker 1: that is speculation. It just seems to me that his
- 17:04Speaker 1: initial two statements don't line up with any of the
- 17:07Speaker 1: further statements. But we're going to get even further because
- 17:11Speaker 1: on November thirtieth, nineteen sixty three, W. J. Harrison was
- 17:16Speaker 1: interviewed by Lieutenant C. C. Wallace and PG mcceren at
- 17:22Speaker 1: noon November twenty ninth. The interview was essentially the same
- 17:26Speaker 1: as his original report dated November twenty seventh, sixty three.
- 17:30Speaker 1: The following was added by W. J. Harrison. I was
- 17:35Speaker 1: assigned to the basement by Captain of course Martin Noga J. Martin.
- 17:42Speaker 1: I was there approximately ten minutes before the prisoner Oswalt
- 17:48Speaker 1: was brought out to the ramp. Prior to that, I
- 17:50Speaker 1: took up the post between the west wall the driveway
- 17:54Speaker 1: and the ramp. As I recall, the television lights were
- 17:57Speaker 1: to my left and there was a report order with
- 18:00Speaker 1: a mic. Who is I think that's meant to say known,
- 18:05Speaker 1: but it says Woon in the picture of the shooting
- 18:08Speaker 1: standing to my right. As Oswalt and the escorts came
- 18:12Speaker 1: out of the ramp, Jack Ruby, who I have known
- 18:15Speaker 1: for several years, lunged past me on my left side
- 18:20Speaker 1: and was pulling his gun at the time. I immediately
- 18:23Speaker 1: recognized him and shouted Jack. I tried to grab him
- 18:28Speaker 1: as he passed me. Let's see.
- 18:44Speaker 3: Oh yeah.
- 18:46Speaker 1: Ruby was not in the crowd prior to this time.
- 18:50Speaker 1: As the shooting was over, I held Ruby down while
- 18:53Speaker 1: another officer searched him. I believe this man was Captain King,
- 18:57Speaker 1: I recall Ruby saying you all know me, I'm Jack Ruby,
- 19:01Speaker 1: and yes they all did know him. One officer asked
- 19:05Speaker 1: him why he did it, and he answered, I hope
- 19:07Speaker 1: I killed the SOB, which of course was not in
- 19:12Speaker 1: his previous statement. Interesting Skufuzer rebound. Ruby was taken to
- 19:19Speaker 1: the jail office and then placed on the jail elevator,
- 19:24Speaker 1: which was run by officer Lewis, Captain King, myself and
- 19:28Speaker 1: another officer. How do you not recall who took the
- 19:31Speaker 1: prisoner to the fifth floor? I recall Ruby stating on
- 19:35Speaker 1: the elevator. Do you think I'm going to let the
- 19:37Speaker 1: man who shot our president president get away with it?
- 19:42Speaker 1: So here you have the Jackie angle, you know, shooting
- 19:47Speaker 1: the commed Trader narrative start. I mean it started a
- 19:52Speaker 1: little earlier, but you could see how it starts to
- 19:55Speaker 1: progress in the documents. In my humble opinion, goddamn. We
- 20:13Speaker 1: have a statement by Elsie Graves which we went through
- 20:16Speaker 1: on members only.
- 20:17Speaker 4: If you're remember you saw this, why is it going backwards? Sorry?
- 20:31Speaker 1: So one of the things we found out on our
- 20:34Speaker 1: members only here was Oswalt was pronounced dead at one
- 20:38Speaker 1: oh seven pm on Sunday, November twenty fourth, by doctor
- 20:42Speaker 1: Tom Shearers, Parkland staff detectives Lavelle Burgess and I Elsie
- 20:48Speaker 1: Graves and along with doctor Justin Bieberdorf. I'm just kidding.
- 20:54Speaker 1: His name isn't Justin wrote in the ambulance with Oswalt
- 20:58Speaker 1: to Parkland at the hospital, changed into the operating into
- 21:02Speaker 1: operating room clothing and accompanied Oswald into the operating room
- 21:07Speaker 1: and stood guard until he was pronounced dead. The pistol
- 21:10Speaker 1: I took from Jack Ruby was turned over to Captain
- 21:15Speaker 1: Fritz at Parkland Hospital, so the pistol was dropped and
- 21:20Speaker 1: we have other officers corroborating this. But for some reason,
- 21:27Speaker 1: Elsie Graves took this pistol, put it in his pocket
- 21:33Speaker 1: instead of in an evidence bag, and brought it to
- 21:36Speaker 1: Parkland Hospital. This was something I did not know and
- 21:41Speaker 1: it is a little bit sus because if it's on
- 21:44Speaker 1: the ground and it was wrestled away from him, why
- 21:47Speaker 1: not just leave it there put it in an evidence bag.
- 21:51Speaker 1: Oh hey, I could hear you. I was just sharing
- 22:03Speaker 1: this last slide that we talked about on Wednesday. Rom Yeah, okay.
- 22:13Speaker 1: I'm also going to talk about C. W. Brown, which
- 22:15Speaker 1: is on this initial list, and he says on November
- 22:21Speaker 1: twenty fourth, I reported to work at seven am driving
- 22:24Speaker 1: squad car three seven six. After an interview of the
- 22:28Speaker 1: suspect Lee Harvey Oswald by Captain Fritz, I was told
- 22:31Speaker 1: to get my car and get in position in front
- 22:34Speaker 1: of the other squad that was to carry Oswalt to
- 22:38Speaker 1: the County jail. At approximately eleven forty am, I went
- 22:42Speaker 1: to the City Hall basement and drove my car about
- 22:45Speaker 1: halfway up the south ramp which leads to Commerce Street,
- 22:49Speaker 1: and my partner Doherty, who we just read a statement.
- 22:52Speaker 1: I read it first, moved the other squad car up
- 22:56Speaker 1: behind me. We both started attempting to back up to
- 22:59Speaker 1: the jail off his door. When I heard a shot.
- 23:02Speaker 1: I immediately put the emergency brake on and ran back
- 23:05Speaker 1: to the other car. By this time, other officers had
- 23:08Speaker 1: removed Lee Harvey Oswalt and Jack Ruby into the jail
- 23:12Speaker 1: office again moving them together into the same office, which
- 23:20Speaker 1: is interesting. I went back to my car and moved
- 23:22Speaker 1: it back. Talks about a couple other people. This is
- 23:33Speaker 1: the report of duties from E. R. Beck, who was
- 23:36Speaker 1: also on that manifest list, if you will, and at
- 23:41Speaker 1: about eleven ten, Captain Fritz told detectives Doherty, Brown, and
- 23:45Speaker 1: myself to go to the basement to get one of
- 23:47Speaker 1: the cars set up for Oswalt's transfer. He told Detective
- 23:51Speaker 1: Doherty to put his car by the jail door and
- 23:56Speaker 1: for me to drive the lead car. Captain Fritz told
- 23:59Speaker 1: me that we go to Commerce, east of Commerce to Preston,
- 24:03Speaker 1: north to Maine, then west to Maine, and then we'd
- 24:05Speaker 1: get on entrances of the jail. On Maine, I was
- 24:09Speaker 1: to drive past the entrance so they could drive into
- 24:13Speaker 1: the jail. When we got into the basement, we had
- 24:16Speaker 1: trouble lining up cars because of the TV cameras and
- 24:19Speaker 1: the press. Detective Doherty was backing Captain Fritz's car into position.
- 24:25Speaker 1: Blah blah blah. An ambulance arrived and Oswaldt was placed
- 24:29Speaker 1: into the ambulance and Detective Graves, Doherty, and Lavelle went
- 24:38Speaker 1: into the ambulance. I got my car and blah blah
- 24:46Speaker 1: blah blah blah. I'm just gonna skip this a little
- 24:48Speaker 1: bit because I put some filler in here, and yeah,
- 25:00Speaker 1: he said that Lee Harvey Oswalt was immediately put into
- 25:05Speaker 1: the ambulance, which of course we know he was not
- 25:09Speaker 1: because he was put into the back room first and
- 25:14Speaker 1: then later put into the ambulance. So there's a lot
- 25:19Speaker 1: of inconsistencies happening here with the day of statements of
- 25:28Speaker 1: Jack Ruby and of the Jack Ruby shooting of Lee
- 25:32Speaker 1: Harvey Oswalt, and I highlighted a couple of rob you'll
- 25:42Speaker 1: laugh when you see the replay because I had a
- 25:45Speaker 1: couple of technical issues with the layers and such. But yeah,
- 25:51Speaker 1: we got through it, and everyone missed you, and we're
- 25:55Speaker 1: glad you're good.
- 26:00Speaker 3: Trade of popular belief. I'm alive and well, oh man.
- 26:09Speaker 1: Do you have a good story for us or no?
- 26:11Speaker 3: Or not? Sy if you want to hear it.
- 26:15Speaker 1: It's a sad one.
- 26:16Speaker 3: Yeah, uh, hang on, let's fix this.
- 26:19Speaker 1: Uh yeah, we got it.
- 26:22Speaker 3: Let's fix this, kafuza, because you're not in the proceeds.
- 26:26Speaker 1: There we are, Uh, I don't know, it's up to you, sir.
- 26:32Speaker 3: Well, yeah, yesterday, sadly, I got home from work and
- 26:39Speaker 3: my my inherited kitty had passed away. Yeah, RP kitty.
- 26:50Speaker 3: So I get home at like, I don't know, five
- 26:55Speaker 3: point thirty. It's already dark, and I'm like, you know,
- 27:00Speaker 3: the cat normally comes out to greet me when I
- 27:03Speaker 3: get home. You know nothing. I'm like, what the hell?
- 27:08Speaker 3: So I go up in my in my kids room
- 27:11Speaker 3: and that's when after he moved out, it's her room now.
- 27:15Speaker 3: So but yeah, man, she was just curled up, slumped
- 27:21Speaker 3: out that this could be.
- 27:25Speaker 1: I was like, man, damn yeah, that fucking sucks. Bro.
- 27:33Speaker 3: Yeah, you know what else sucks? Digging a hole in
- 27:37Speaker 3: your backyard and frozen ground in the dark.
- 27:40Speaker 1: Oh no, yes.
- 27:44Speaker 3: So I'm out there last night digging a hole because
- 27:47Speaker 3: the snowstorm is coming. And you know, I don't know
- 27:54Speaker 3: how I guess. I mean, she could have She could
- 27:56Speaker 3: have been dead for at least ten hours by that point,
- 28:01Speaker 3: you know who knows, right, So I was like, man,
- 28:07Speaker 3: I gotta, I gotta. I didn't know what to do
- 28:10Speaker 3: with her. So I was like, I got to dig
- 28:13Speaker 3: a hole. So damn man, last night. It took shit,
- 28:23Speaker 3: probably two hours. I was like, this is going to
- 28:26Speaker 3: be a shallow a shallow one. But you know, the
- 28:30Speaker 3: ground as hard as a rock. And like I said,
- 28:33Speaker 3: the storm's coming. Today was Friday. I couldn't take off work.
- 28:37Speaker 3: I had ship to do. So I did all that
- 28:42Speaker 3: and I had to get up, and I had to be
- 28:43Speaker 3: at work early this morning because we had to go
- 28:45Speaker 3: off site to somewhere else. So then I have to
- 28:51Speaker 3: go to the grocery store on a Friday before the snowstorm,
- 28:54Speaker 3: and it's a fucking madhouse.
- 28:56Speaker 1: Oh my god, man, I went to the grocery store today.
- 28:59Speaker 1: It was nuts.
- 29:03Speaker 3: So I got home, put all the shit away, and
- 29:07Speaker 3: I sat down on my lazy boy chair, which I
- 29:09Speaker 3: shouldn't have done at six fifteen, and fell asleep. My
- 29:16Speaker 3: alarms are in my other in my bedroom. I didn't
- 29:20Speaker 3: hear nothing, So all is well for me, not for
- 29:28Speaker 3: not for Kitty, sadly, but she lived a good long life.
- 29:32Speaker 3: There was unaware I inherited a cat from my mother
- 29:34Speaker 3: who passed away two years ago, and Kitty was probably
- 29:42Speaker 3: eighteen nineteen, maybe twenty years old, I don't know. They
- 29:46Speaker 3: found it in a at the landfill of all places,
- 29:50Speaker 3: wandering around and brought it home.
- 29:51Speaker 5: So wow, No, there's moons ago.
- 29:55Speaker 1: I'm sorry about that. Losing a pet is is horrible
- 30:01Speaker 1: and I just want to update you on I'm sure
- 30:05Speaker 1: you'll see the replay and laugh your ass off and
- 30:07Speaker 1: maybe delete some parts of it. I was muted for
- 30:12Speaker 1: part of it. As I tried to share my screen,
- 30:17Speaker 1: I saw.
- 30:17Speaker 3: It no no sound, no sound.
- 30:20Speaker 1: Yeah, but I essentially just went over C. N. Doherty's
- 30:27Speaker 1: a couple of the statements of the list of personnel
- 30:31Speaker 1: at the time of the Oswald transfer. I played the
- 30:36Speaker 1: video of the shooting, and then SKUFFOOZERI by W. J. Harrison,
- 30:48Speaker 1: which is some patrolman in the Juvenile Bureau, if you will.
- 30:56Speaker 3: I believe the father of uh JFK researcher Jay Harrison.
- 31:07Speaker 3: Oh really, I think so.
- 31:11Speaker 1: Well. We we had a cold open because I didn't
- 31:14Speaker 1: start the music. Uh So it was a little bit
- 31:18Speaker 1: of a mess, but it was kind of It's kind
- 31:20Speaker 1: of funny for people that don't take life too seriously.
- 31:23Speaker 3: And went over it happens, folks.
- 31:26Speaker 1: Yeah it is, and uh and his statements kept changing
- 31:31Speaker 1: and getting more more details. You know, memory starts getting
- 31:37Speaker 1: better with time, right and uh yeah, yeah. His first
- 31:43Speaker 1: statement was like I was there and that's like and
- 31:48Speaker 1: then like later he's like giving all these details. Then
- 31:53Speaker 1: I briefly went into Elsie Graves and how he said
- 31:57Speaker 1: that he took uh Ruby's gun, even though I think
- 32:02Speaker 1: it was Doherty's statement, how he took the gun to
- 32:09Speaker 1: Parkland and we went over this and members only if
- 32:11Speaker 1: you remember, you would have known this. He took the
- 32:15Speaker 1: gun to Parkland Hospital. But if it was wrestled out
- 32:18Speaker 1: of your hand and put into the ground, why would
- 32:21Speaker 1: you pick it up and put in your pocket with
- 32:24Speaker 1: all these officers present? And then read something from C. W.
- 32:28Speaker 1: Brown and.
- 32:32Speaker 3: I'll kitchen on the replay.
- 32:33Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm sure, but yeah, I I I missed you, Brah,
- 32:39Speaker 1: I missed you. It was a mess, not that bad.
- 32:43Speaker 1: But how did eight about seven fifty five issue?
- 32:49Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 32:50Speaker 1: Yeah, so yeah, I guess that that makes sense seeing
- 32:57Speaker 1: as the broadcast started thirty seven minutes ago. But uh, yeah,
- 33:01Speaker 1: I know you have some other DPD officers to go into.
- 33:04Speaker 1: We had a we had, uh get the horn ready
- 33:09Speaker 1: here as I go all the way back. Oh I
- 33:13Speaker 1: did hear the and guess what your boy was gifted
- 33:21Speaker 1: another membership? Oh man, horrible?
- 33:25Speaker 3: Right?
- 33:28Speaker 1: Uh? But the double B gifted five and then he
- 33:32Speaker 1: did another super chat, so get it ready again?
- 33:36Speaker 5: Yeah, yes, thank you, sir.
- 33:41Speaker 1: And I actually called him. I was like, what do
- 33:44Speaker 1: I do? I was like, Rob told me just to
- 33:50Speaker 1: go live after Uh, but I'm not as good as
- 33:58Speaker 1: this as you are. So but we made it through.
- 34:01Speaker 1: And yeah, so let's talk about you know, we've been
- 34:06Speaker 1: talking about some DPD officers that are like lesser known,
- 34:10Speaker 1: and I believe you're going to talk about a couple
- 34:12Speaker 1: more of them.
- 34:15Speaker 3: Yeah, no, Paul, she always does that every show.
- 34:18Speaker 1: So, and and I went on a rant of skaffoozie
- 34:26Speaker 1: in the comments section and people misinterpreting our last announcement.
- 34:36Speaker 3: Yeah I did.
- 34:37Speaker 1: I mean I didn't do it as much as probably
- 34:41Speaker 1: if you were here, but I did a minor part
- 34:44Speaker 1: of it. And how you know, shut the fuck up.
- 34:51Speaker 3: Kind of thing.
- 34:52Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, keep your comments to yourself and if you
- 34:55Speaker 1: want to just comment free Predator every time, we're going
- 35:02Speaker 1: to delete it from now on. And yeah, it was
- 35:08Speaker 1: a little rant. It was like a minor It probably
- 35:10Speaker 1: wasn't It wouldn't be as good. It wasn't as good
- 35:12Speaker 1: if you were here, But I tried, and I said, like, listen,
- 35:17Speaker 1: Rob and I have had discussions about how to improve
- 35:21Speaker 1: the product, and we're not hiding research in the members only.
- 35:26Speaker 1: That's bullshit.
- 35:29Speaker 3: And new entire shows that you never heard.
- 35:32Speaker 1: Yeah, we're adding more contact.
- 35:34Speaker 3: No you were missing anything, And.
- 35:37Speaker 1: In fact, a couple of the slides I had on
- 35:39Speaker 1: my power point were from the Wednesday show, So we're
- 35:43Speaker 1: not hiding anything. We were bringing the fire and uh, yeah,
- 35:48Speaker 1: it's it's maybe a little cringe, but it is what
- 35:51Speaker 1: it is.
- 35:51Speaker 3: Yeah, And it's those concerned that you know, we don't
- 35:54Speaker 3: we don't do enough debunking around here about things. Well,
- 35:58Speaker 3: we do and have done plenty of debunking on the
- 36:01Speaker 3: show before. In case you've missed it, I don't know
- 36:05Speaker 3: where you've been. But more specifically, we were chastised for
- 36:14Speaker 3: not debunking Janet Banister. Well, i'll tell you like this.
- 36:21Speaker 3: We were the first JFK related podcast to ever have
- 36:25Speaker 3: Janet Banister on the show. Sure, we didn't know anything
- 36:30Speaker 3: about her personal views on the case before we asked
- 36:32Speaker 3: her on here. We simply had her on here because
- 36:37Speaker 3: she's got Banister's great niece. Why would you not want
- 36:42Speaker 3: her on the show. And you know, we didn't let
- 36:47Speaker 3: her go off on tangents when we had her on.
- 36:50Speaker 3: We asked a lot of specific questions to her about
- 36:54Speaker 3: things she did not control that interview. And you know,
- 37:00Speaker 3: while there might be some people out there that are
- 37:02Speaker 3: upset about her personal views on the case. Again, that's
- 37:07Speaker 3: formed from her life experiences. You know. So she has
- 37:12Speaker 3: her own podcast, so you can choose not to listen
- 37:16Speaker 3: to her or not, you know what I mean. Like,
- 37:22Speaker 3: it's not up to us to debunk her. No, that's
- 37:26Speaker 3: not what we're here for.
- 37:28Speaker 1: Yeah, people accused us of not going harder at her,
- 37:32Speaker 1: but we're just trying to gain context unintended the guy
- 37:38Speaker 1: who is Guy Banister, right, Like, that's what we're trying
- 37:42Speaker 1: to figure out. And we learned a lot of new
- 37:44Speaker 1: shit during that episode, a lot about him, his life,
- 37:49Speaker 1: his correspondence with Hoover.
- 37:51Speaker 3: Told her a lot about her great uncle that she
- 37:53Speaker 3: didn't know, you know, and behind the scenes, I supplied
- 37:58Speaker 3: her with a ton of documents about her great uncle
- 38:01Speaker 3: that she didn't have before.
- 38:03Speaker 1: Rob Ranton coming, Yeah, right.
- 38:07Speaker 3: And secondly, Cory Hughes and the whole you know what,
- 38:18Speaker 3: right Israel behind everything?
- 38:23Speaker 1: Yeah, it's the trend these days.
- 38:26Speaker 3: I'm going to debunk Corey Hughes in five minutes, probably
- 38:32Speaker 3: less than five minutes.
- 38:33Speaker 1: Just I didn't. I didn't go on that part. I
- 38:37Speaker 1: said you were.
- 38:40Speaker 3: Simple for the folks in the back, pay attention, pay
- 38:45Speaker 3: very good attention. He is wrong about his theory that
- 38:53Speaker 3: Jack Valente was on the grassy knoll and shot Kennedy.
- 38:58Speaker 3: And here's why I can disprove that theory in less
- 39:00Speaker 3: than five minutes. He claims, after Jack Valente shot the President,
- 39:10Speaker 3: he discarded the rifle somewhere and ran down the grassy
- 39:14Speaker 3: knoll on the other side of the underpass and hopped
- 39:19Speaker 3: on to the Queen Mary the Secret Service follow up car.
- 39:24Speaker 3: And also on this follow up car was David Morales,
- 39:27Speaker 3: David Sanchez Morales, okay, and six other secret legit Secret
- 39:33Speaker 3: Service agents. Okay, it's real, simple, folks. The only other
- 39:41Speaker 3: person to ever say that anybody that they saw anybody
- 39:48Speaker 3: running down that side of the overpass on the other
- 39:52Speaker 3: side of the train track the triple overpass was a
- 39:58Speaker 3: Dallas police officer named Thomas Tilson. He said he saw
- 40:04Speaker 3: somebody running down that hill that looked like Jack Ruby
- 40:12Speaker 3: and get in a car, a black car, which he
- 40:14Speaker 3: proceeded to follow and had his daughter write down the
- 40:17Speaker 3: license plate. This DPD officer did not say that he
- 40:25Speaker 3: hopped on the Secret Service follow up car. And oh,
- 40:32Speaker 3: by the way, there was a photographer on the other
- 40:34Speaker 3: side of the overpass and took several pictures of the
- 40:40Speaker 3: limousine and the follow up car as they're coming up
- 40:46Speaker 3: to get on.
- 40:48Speaker 1: The the what was it the.
- 40:52Speaker 3: Uh the freeway? Was it called Simmons Freeway? And at
- 41:01Speaker 3: no time do we see pictures or video or anything
- 41:07Speaker 3: of the follow up car stopping to pick up somebody
- 41:11Speaker 3: running down the hill. And oh, by the way, if
- 41:17Speaker 3: you look at the Altins photo, the Autun's six photo,
- 41:23Speaker 3: what are we saying here that David Morales is pretending
- 41:28Speaker 3: to be a Secret Service agent? Comean, come on man,
- 41:33Speaker 3: come on man. If you had just one witness who
- 41:38Speaker 3: said that the Queen Mary, the Secret Service follow up
- 41:41Speaker 3: car stopped on the other side of the Triple overpass
- 41:44Speaker 3: and somebody ran and got in the car, maybe you
- 41:47Speaker 3: have a case. Okay, But again, this is just some
- 41:52Speaker 3: fool using photographic evidence a picture to make a very
- 42:02Speaker 3: speculative accusation that is factually incorrect. Why people can't seem
- 42:13Speaker 3: to realize this, I don't know. But again, it's not
- 42:21Speaker 3: worth the effort to get on here and do an
- 42:23Speaker 3: entire show about debunking this dude's theory when it's completely
- 42:28Speaker 3: off track, it's completely off the rails, it's completely unhinged.
- 42:35Speaker 3: And there wasn't a line of what do they call
- 42:39Speaker 3: them do is to drive the little cars?
- 42:42Speaker 1: Bumper?
- 42:43Speaker 5: No, no, funny hats.
- 42:51Speaker 3: You know what I'm talking about, right, You know they
- 42:55Speaker 3: do a lot of good, good things for the kids,
- 42:58Speaker 3: the Shriners. Yeah, yeah, or somebody like him. You know,
- 43:04Speaker 3: we're not lined up fifty deep on Houston Street. Okay,
- 43:09Speaker 3: it's ridiculous on its face. Yeah, everything he says is
- 43:13Speaker 3: ridiculous on his face.
- 43:14Speaker 1: Yeah, it might be worse than the driver shot turned
- 43:19Speaker 1: around and shot JFK and that's why Jackie was getting away,
- 43:22Speaker 1: or Frank Sturgis was your tramp or on and on
- 43:26Speaker 1: and on you go. Yeah, it might be that bad
- 43:31Speaker 1: of a take. And if you have that type of take,
- 43:34Speaker 1: your opinion means absolutely nothing to us whatsoever. We're not
- 43:39Speaker 1: going to address it, but I do want to say
- 43:41Speaker 1: something really quickly before you enter your rant. Friend of
- 43:44Speaker 1: the show, Paul Abbott, came in the chat Janet Banister,
- 43:49Speaker 1: is this sh is good on you guys?
- 43:51Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 43:51Speaker 1: And I mean listen, we're not here to like hate
- 43:54Speaker 1: on our great uncle. We're here to learn some context.
- 43:58Speaker 1: And she's an extreme on the guy. Guy Banister unk
- 44:02Speaker 1: tis again and you know, we met her at Lancer,
- 44:08Speaker 1: I met her on the Knoll. Actually, ironically, she's a
- 44:12Speaker 1: she's trying to figure out, like what her.
- 44:16Speaker 3: Great she's pretty much a visit her like Joe under
- 44:21Speaker 3: her head. Though she probably will say Oswall was a
- 44:24Speaker 3: lone nut, but that doesn't mean that there wasn't a conspiracy,
- 44:28Speaker 3: some kind of conspiracy against her involving her uncle. She's
- 44:31Speaker 3: very much open to that theory.
- 44:34Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah, and we we we we pressed her on
- 44:38Speaker 1: that as well. And like I said, there's always context
- 44:42Speaker 1: to be gained, no matter and and she has a
- 44:47Speaker 1: lot of interesting documents and stories from her great uncle.
- 44:51Speaker 1: So yeah, we're going to talk to her. And she's
- 44:54Speaker 1: a sweetheart and I really enjoy her, And yeah, I
- 45:00Speaker 1: I enjoy listening to her podcast, even if I don't
- 45:02Speaker 1: agree with everything. So hey, Paul, and thank you for
- 45:05Speaker 1: your comment.
- 45:06Speaker 3: So when Corey Hughes has something better than stealing John
- 45:09Speaker 3: Armstrong's research and trotting it out like his own and
- 45:13Speaker 3: making ridiculous, fucking speculations that have no bearing whatsoever on
- 45:19Speaker 3: the assassination, then come tell me something I don't know
- 45:25Speaker 3: until then, he's on the shelf as a Kook. He's
- 45:30Speaker 3: right up there with Jim Fetzer sitting right beside him,
- 45:33Speaker 3: Ralph sin Kay sitting right beside him, Corey Hughes. He's
- 45:41Speaker 3: one of these jackasses that speaks authoritatively like he knows everything,
- 45:45Speaker 3: and he doesn't know shit. He knows nothing nothing. He
- 45:52Speaker 3: likes to hear himself talk, so he got himself a
- 45:53Speaker 3: podcast and you know what, more power to you. But
- 46:00Speaker 3: it's not even worth our time. So there you go,
- 46:05Speaker 3: jack ass. Hope you're happy there's our thoughts on it.
- 46:09Speaker 3: I just debunked it in less than five minutes because
- 46:12Speaker 3: it's total horseshit. Okay, it's not worth our time, worth
- 46:16Speaker 3: the time.
- 46:19Speaker 1: Yeah, and uh, Paul, one more thing is uh yeah
- 46:22Speaker 1: she is. She is. I think she is well reasoned
- 46:26Speaker 1: and well intended. And I would like if you, if
- 46:30Speaker 1: I don't know, if you caught the beginning of it,
- 46:32Speaker 1: to hear your thoughts on this patrolman W. J. Harrison,
- 46:36Speaker 1: who seems to have added a lot of context to
- 46:42Speaker 1: his story as the days went on. Ah you being
- 46:51Speaker 1: uh an expert on the basement because this uh I
- 46:56Speaker 1: was going through statements and I was like, what's going
- 46:58Speaker 1: on here? He's likeaging the story. He's like adding a
- 47:01Speaker 1: million things, so definitely would like to get your thoughts
- 47:06Speaker 1: on that in the future.
- 47:07Speaker 3: Your man crust, take your thing one. I'm kidding, Paul.
- 47:13Speaker 3: We love you and you're answer.
- 47:16Speaker 1: We do.
- 47:20Speaker 3: All right? You ready for this, Joe, Let's do it? Yah?
- 47:25Speaker 3: All right? First up, I got a report from C. W. Brown.
- 47:37Speaker 3: I ever heard of him.
- 47:39Speaker 1: I read a brief, very brief statement right before you
- 47:43Speaker 1: came on from him.
- 47:44Speaker 3: Oh you did? Are you sure it wasn't C. W. Doherty?
- 47:48Speaker 1: Yes?
- 47:50Speaker 3: What did you read from C? W. Brown?
- 47:52Speaker 1: Uh?
- 47:54Speaker 3: It was his. I'm going to make sure we don't
- 47:57Speaker 3: have the same thing.
- 47:57Speaker 1: Here report of duties in regards to Oswald's death. But
- 48:01Speaker 1: it was only one slide, and it ended with the
- 48:10Speaker 1: emergency room and the immediately put on the emergency brake
- 48:17Speaker 1: and ran back to the other car. Blah blah blah,
- 48:20Speaker 1: moving of cars. It was probably not the same thing
- 48:23Speaker 1: you have. It was only one slide.
- 48:33Speaker 3: Let me see it real quick. If you got to
- 48:34Speaker 3: hand me. I was to be sure that we got
- 48:37Speaker 3: something different here.
- 48:38Speaker 1: Okay, common up, I can't. I can't extend it when
- 49:03Speaker 1: you're not on. But this is the only thing I.
- 49:05Speaker 3: Had Okay, yeah, because I have the same thing. I
- 49:08Speaker 3: have a report on officers duties, right, but mine is
- 49:11Speaker 3: from November twenty second. Okay, so we got something totally different.
- 49:13Speaker 3: Ye okay, same guy.
- 49:20Speaker 6: Oh mm, well, how do you always end up inking
- 49:37Speaker 6: me disappear?
- 49:40Speaker 1: I don't know. Maybe maybe maybe maybe I tried to intentionally.
- 49:46Speaker 3: I already wasn't here most of the show. Okay, now
- 49:52Speaker 3: that we're clear that I have something different, Okay, same guy,
- 49:56Speaker 3: different subs story. So this is from his what he
- 50:01Speaker 3: did on November twenty second, nineteen sixty three. He says,
- 50:04Speaker 3: I reported for work at ten am. My partner was C. N.
- 50:10Speaker 3: Doherty and it was his day off and I was
- 50:13Speaker 3: working alone. At approximately eleven am, Detective Lavell and myself
- 50:20Speaker 3: started looking for a colored man that was wanted for
- 50:23Speaker 3: armed bribery. At twelveoint fifteen. We arrested this subject at
- 50:28Speaker 3: twenty four twenty one Ellis Street and brought him to
- 50:31Speaker 3: the homicide office for booking. So again, this is Jim
- 50:35Speaker 3: Levell and C. W.
- 50:38Speaker 1: Brown on the morning of the assassination.
- 50:40Speaker 3: Warning of the assassination. While Lavell and myself were booking
- 50:45Speaker 3: this prisoner, we heard the police radio announced that the
- 50:47Speaker 3: President had been shot and en route to Parkland. Leavell
- 50:51Speaker 3: and I placed this prisoner in jail and proceeded to
- 50:53Speaker 3: the location of the shooting at Elmen Houston. When we
- 50:57Speaker 3: arrived at the location, we found that the book depository
- 50:59Speaker 3: was sealed off for a search. Lavelle went in one
- 51:04Speaker 3: direction and I went to the rear of the building
- 51:07Speaker 3: and entered. I saw several officers and proceeded to the
- 51:11Speaker 3: sixth floor. I contacted Captain Fritz. Captain Fritz advised me
- 51:16Speaker 3: and Detective Sinkle, who was already there, to bring the
- 51:21Speaker 3: employees of this building to the homicide office and get
- 51:24Speaker 3: affidavids from them. Now, that's a lot of people to
- 51:28Speaker 3: transport down to the jail and get statements from. I
- 51:33Speaker 3: can see any statements, but that's a lot of people
- 51:40Speaker 3: to bring on down to the station. But Cinkl and
- 51:45Speaker 3: I brought three of them to the office, and I
- 51:49Speaker 3: took an affidavid from William Shelley, White, male thirty seven.
- 51:55Speaker 3: While I was taking this affidavid from mister Shelley, a
- 51:58Speaker 3: group of officers brought a Lee Harvey Oswald in and
- 52:05Speaker 3: these officers stated that he was the one that shot
- 52:08Speaker 3: officer J. D. Tippett. Mister Shelley saw this Oswald guy
- 52:13Speaker 3: and told me that he was one of his employees
- 52:15Speaker 3: at the bookstore. After I took the affidavit from mister
- 52:19Speaker 3: Shelley in regards to his whereabouts in action after the shooting,
- 52:23Speaker 3: I took a second one from him relating to his
- 52:25Speaker 3: employment and job supervision supervision of Oswald. Detective Sinkle took
- 52:32Speaker 3: an Alpha David from a Bonnie Ray Williams. So this
- 52:38Speaker 3: is from the little group that got arrested. That was
- 52:41Speaker 3: the famous photo, right, Bonnie Ray, Bill Shelley, Danny Arsay
- 52:50Speaker 3: and dort and Charles. Yeah, dumb, dumb Dorty Yeah.
- 52:58Speaker 1: Fun fact Doherty not that Jack Doherty was a pallbearer
- 53:04Speaker 1: at Ruby's burial. That's interesting. Comes from mister Rabbit.
- 53:15Speaker 3: Nice.
- 53:16Speaker 1: Yeah, that's that's weird. I don't know what to make
- 53:20Speaker 1: about that.
- 53:24Speaker 3: So that is C. W. Brown all right?
- 53:28Speaker 1: Yeah, No, I read his November twenty fourth only one
- 53:31Speaker 1: page of a statement, not twenty second. But I think
- 53:35Speaker 1: we touched on Lavelle having arrested the guy for burglary
- 53:41Speaker 1: earlier that day on the twenty second last week.
- 53:46Speaker 3: Now, next up, there was supposed to be a report
- 53:52Speaker 3: from C. W. Brown concerning someone named Hank Farmer.
- 53:59Speaker 1: Hank Horror. Yeah, I've never heard of him.
- 54:04Speaker 3: But apparently, uh, it has been lost to history somewhere
- 54:13Speaker 3: because C. W. Brown wrote on this FBI memorandum in handwriting.
- 54:18Speaker 3: Here it says the man at the man interrogated at
- 54:29Speaker 3: Dallas PD eleven twenty two sixty three by something and
- 54:39Speaker 3: PD statement and then it signed C. W. Brown Lead C. Brown.
- 54:46Speaker 3: And there's a note in here that says not in
- 54:47Speaker 3: DPD files. So this is an FBI memorandum from eleven
- 54:51Speaker 3: twenty two sixty three from an FBI agent named Joe
- 54:56Speaker 3: Pierce to the special Agent in charge of Dallas concerned
- 55:00Speaker 3: in the assassination of Kennedy. And it says today, which
- 55:03Speaker 3: is eleven twenty two sixty three, at five thirty six,
- 55:08Speaker 3: Hank Farmer of Dallas telephonically contacted the FBI office and
- 55:16Speaker 3: advised he was standing on the southeast corner of Elman
- 55:19Speaker 3: Houston Streets at the time when President Kennedy was shot.
- 55:23Speaker 3: He stated he saw Kennedy hit by the bullet and
- 55:26Speaker 3: felt that bullet entered Kennedy's face. He stated he then
- 55:31Speaker 3: saw Governor Connolly's shot and this shot entered Connolly's back.
- 55:37Speaker 3: Farmers stated, therefore, it is his opinion that the two
- 55:40Speaker 3: shots were fired by two individuals from opposite directions, and CW.
- 55:49Speaker 3: Brown conveniently lost the guy's DPD statement.
- 55:55Speaker 5: Imagine that, Joe, imagine that that son of bitch.
- 56:01Speaker 3: It doesn't match the narrative.
- 56:03Speaker 1: Therefore, Yeah, yeah, it happens. Uh didn't Stringfellow also go
- 56:13Speaker 1: against the narrative as well later in life?
- 56:16Speaker 3: Yeah? Next up, Let's see we have here? Who's this cafuser?
- 56:27Speaker 1: There are a lot of them.
- 56:29Speaker 3: Joe Cody? Okay? Uh?
- 56:34Speaker 1: C O d y or Kody?
- 56:41Speaker 3: He was a Dallas Police Department Uh what was?
- 56:44Speaker 1: He?
- 56:44Speaker 3: A patrol officer, a traffic officer, a motorcycle sergeant, and
- 56:48Speaker 3: later a detective and narcotics, intelligence and homicide. Cody said
- 56:53Speaker 3: his most remb moments came from his time of service
- 56:56Speaker 3: in the burglary and theft department. I had a friend
- 56:59Speaker 3: by the name of Jack Ruby. He ran a nightclub downtown,
- 57:03Speaker 3: Joe Cody said. Cody and some of the officers he
- 57:07Speaker 3: worked with became friends with Ruby and would visit him
- 57:09Speaker 3: at his club. The carousel went off duty. If you
- 57:12Speaker 3: know what I'm saying, they would get free, free ladies
- 57:15Speaker 3: and free drinks. Joe, Yeah, can't turn that down.
- 57:21Speaker 1: I wouldn't, He says.
- 57:24Speaker 3: We get off at eleven thirty at night and we
- 57:26Speaker 3: want to go have a beer or two or something
- 57:28Speaker 3: like that, blow off some steam. But all the beer
- 57:31Speaker 3: joints closed at midnight. Ruby would let us in his
- 57:33Speaker 3: club and he locked the door so it was no
- 57:35Speaker 3: longer public, and we could sit there and drink till
- 57:38Speaker 3: two or three in the morning. One day, about a
- 57:43Speaker 3: year before the Kennedy Assassin Nation, Ruby called Cody to
- 57:47Speaker 3: ask him for a favor. Jack called me and he said, Man,
- 57:53Speaker 3: I've got a problem, Joe. Every night I leave with
- 57:55Speaker 3: twenty five hundred or three thousand cash in my pocket.
- 57:58Speaker 3: I'm afraid somebody's gonna rob me. I want to get
- 58:01Speaker 3: a safe Joe said. He went with Ruby to look
- 58:07Speaker 3: at burglar boxes that could be installed to keep money secure,
- 58:11Speaker 3: but at the same time they cost five thousand dollars,
- 58:14Speaker 3: and Ruby told him, man, I can't afford that. Did
- 58:18Speaker 3: save saves really cost five thousand dollars back then? I mean,
- 58:24Speaker 3: that must be a hell of a burglar box.
- 58:26Speaker 1: Bro yeah, yeah, I mean yeah, it was.
- 58:30Speaker 3: He installing a fucking bank vault in the Carosel Club.
- 58:33Speaker 1: I mean, I mean, we know he had a vault
- 58:35Speaker 1: in there, but uh.
- 58:38Speaker 3: Yeah, it is a little shitty safe.
- 58:39Speaker 1: But I mean, right, a safe brand a safe, not
- 58:43Speaker 1: a vault, right, not fifty plus grand in today's purchasing power.
- 58:51Speaker 3: So I said, well, why don't you just get a pistol, Jack,
- 58:55Speaker 3: put it in your pocket. If somebody tells you stick
- 58:57Speaker 3: them up, you tell him just wait a minute, then
- 59:01Speaker 3: reach in there and pull the pistol out and bang,
- 59:03Speaker 3: bang bang. So Cody took Ruby down to Greg Brantley's
- 59:11Speaker 3: hardware store and looked at all the guns. Ruby then
- 59:15Speaker 3: asked for advice, saying he never owned a pistol before.
- 59:21Speaker 3: Cody recommended a pistol like his own, a Colt Cobra
- 59:24Speaker 3: thirty eight Special Joe. It's made out of illuminum and
- 59:29Speaker 3: it's real light, Cody said. But Cody didn't just pick
- 59:34Speaker 3: out Ruby's new gun, he also helped him buy it.
- 59:38Speaker 3: Although Ruby had twenty five, one hundred or three thousand
- 59:40Speaker 3: in his pocket, he owed four thousand to the irs,
- 59:44Speaker 3: so he didn't have a lot of money. The pistol
- 59:46Speaker 3: was sixty two dollars fifty cents, and I think there's
- 59:50Speaker 3: about seven dollars tax on it, so close to seventy bucks.
- 59:54Speaker 3: So I bought the pistol because policemen didn't pay the tax.
- 59:57Speaker 3: I bought the pistol and gave Jack, and Jack gave
- 1:00:00Speaker 3: me the money. Jack later had a modification added to
- 1:00:05Speaker 3: the gun that would keep the hammer from catching when
- 1:00:08Speaker 3: you pull it out of a coat pocket, so he
- 1:00:11Speaker 3: had the hammer shaved down, but he didn't know anything
- 1:00:15Speaker 3: about gun. In addition to purchasing the gun used to
- 1:00:21Speaker 3: shoot Oswald, Cody also played an initial role in the
- 1:00:24Speaker 3: assassination investigation. It was November twenty second, a date if
- 1:00:29Speaker 3: you would ever forget, this is from No More Silence,
- 1:00:36Speaker 3: he says. By the time, it was probably ten minutes
- 1:00:39Speaker 3: after the shooting. While we were there, I searched the
- 1:00:42Speaker 3: plaza and found a bone lying in the gutter that
- 1:00:46Speaker 3: apparently came out of the back of the President's head.
- 1:00:49Speaker 3: So Joe Cody is apparently the one that found or
- 1:00:53Speaker 3: he's taken credit for finding the Harper fragment, not the
- 1:00:57Speaker 3: Cody fragment, but the Harper fragment. Uh yeah, then the
- 1:01:06Speaker 3: officers searched the nearby school book depository. My partner ran
- 1:01:09Speaker 3: upstairs and he found the rifle and the two bullets there.
- 1:01:16Speaker 3: Two two. It's amazing what you find when you read
- 1:01:22Speaker 3: what people say, which is why we do it, he says.
- 1:01:28Speaker 3: My partner ran upstairs and he found the rifle and
- 1:01:31Speaker 3: the two bullets there, and the rifle had one empty
- 1:01:34Speaker 3: shell in it. Hmm. But here's where it gets interesting, Joe. Okay,
- 1:01:47Speaker 3: before long, homicide detectives, we're securing. We're scouting, sorry, scouring
- 1:01:57Speaker 3: the city on search of the Kennedy's killer. Meanwhile, Oswald
- 1:02:01Speaker 3: was brought in for shooting JD. Tippett. But Cody said
- 1:02:05Speaker 3: the police officers and the Hori Homriy Homicide and Robbery
- 1:02:09Speaker 3: department did not realize that two shootings were related right
- 1:02:13Speaker 3: away because they're kind of slow, despite having a ninety
- 1:02:17Speaker 3: eight percent clearance rate. They tried to get Oswald at
- 1:02:26Speaker 3: homicide and robbery, but homicide and robbery wouldn't have anything
- 1:02:31Speaker 3: to do with him. They said, we're hunting the killer
- 1:02:37Speaker 3: of the president. You take that punk somewhere else, So
- 1:02:42Speaker 3: they brought him to burglary and theft instead, and that's
- 1:02:45Speaker 3: where Cody met Oswald for the first time. Uh. Cody
- 1:02:53Speaker 3: asked for the subject's name and also learned that he'd
- 1:02:57Speaker 3: been working at the school book depository that day. I
- 1:03:00Speaker 3: looked at him and he was about five foot seven,
- 1:03:03Speaker 3: Cody said. He didn't have on the same clothes that
- 1:03:06Speaker 3: the killer had on, but he sure fit the killer's description.
- 1:03:10Speaker 3: He was a scrawny little guy. He was real quiet
- 1:03:13Speaker 3: and had a black eye. He was just a little nothing.
- 1:03:18Speaker 3: He had a little feminine type voice. Yeah, Cody said.
- 1:03:25Speaker 3: He began to suspect that Oswald was the man police
- 1:03:27Speaker 3: were searching for in connection with the assassination. He then
- 1:03:31Speaker 3: reported that to the homicide department. I said, captain, who
- 1:03:34Speaker 3: are you hunting? He got upset and said they were
- 1:03:37Speaker 3: looking for the presidential killer. Cody asked for the suspect's
- 1:03:41Speaker 3: name and confirmed that Lee Harvey Oswald was the person
- 1:03:45Speaker 3: they were looking for, and that Lee Harvey Oswald was
- 1:03:48Speaker 3: the person that they already had in custody for the
- 1:03:51Speaker 3: murder of Officer JD. Tippett, and they couldn't tell who
- 1:03:55Speaker 3: it was. Then they said the killer was Jack Leon Ruby. Well,
- 1:04:01Speaker 3: I know who he was then, so I came back.
- 1:04:04Speaker 1: The killer of Tippett.
- 1:04:10Speaker 3: No, this is after he shot Oswald. Sorry, okay, okay,
- 1:04:14Speaker 3: they cut off the bottom of that one paragraph. As
- 1:04:19Speaker 3: a police officer and friend, Cody said he was the
- 1:04:21Speaker 3: first of the few allowed to visit Ruby after the shooting.
- 1:04:25Speaker 3: I went down to talk to Ruby and ask him
- 1:04:26Speaker 3: why he did it. He said, well, don't you understand
- 1:04:32Speaker 3: the court wasn't going to give him any time or
- 1:04:34Speaker 3: do anything to Nie. I didn't think he ought to
- 1:04:36Speaker 3: kill the president and get away with it. Cody said
- 1:04:39Speaker 3: he didn't believe any of the speculation that there may
- 1:04:42Speaker 3: have been a conspiracy behind either the assassination of Kennedy
- 1:04:46Speaker 3: or the shooting of Oswalt. If there was a conspiracy
- 1:04:50Speaker 3: behind it, I don't know anything about it. And believe me,
- 1:04:54Speaker 3: our police department investigated everything, despite the investigation being taken
- 1:05:03Speaker 3: from the Dallas Police Department within twenty four hours. But
- 1:05:07Speaker 3: what do I know. Cody acknowledged that there may have
- 1:05:12Speaker 3: been some loose talk by people who wish Kennedy or
- 1:05:16Speaker 3: Oswald were dead, but he doubts that there was any
- 1:05:19Speaker 3: organized plans to carry it out. At one point, Cody
- 1:05:23Speaker 3: said they took a rifleman to the place Kennedy was
- 1:05:25Speaker 3: shot to see how it would sound when the shots
- 1:05:29Speaker 3: were fired, and he said, you could hear echoes all over,
- 1:05:33Speaker 3: you know, depending on something. I guess you know where
- 1:05:39Speaker 3: the buildings were or whatever. Let's see if there's one
- 1:05:48Speaker 3: more relevant section here. Oh no, that is the bottom
- 1:05:55Speaker 3: of the part.
- 1:06:00Speaker 1: He says.
- 1:06:00Speaker 3: I worked in the police department for over thirty years.
- 1:06:03Speaker 3: You get involved in the politics and everybody's trying to
- 1:06:06Speaker 3: get ahead, and it gets cut throat. He says, I
- 1:06:09Speaker 3: don't miss the police department at all after retiring. Now,
- 1:06:16Speaker 3: what's interesting about Joe Cody is not only did he
- 1:06:19Speaker 3: buy the gun for Ruby that ended up shooting and
- 1:06:22Speaker 3: killing Oswald. Joe, if you remember when I had ed
- 1:06:30Speaker 3: ladoue on, not when we had ed La Due. When
- 1:06:33Speaker 3: I had ed la Due on bj we did a
- 1:06:37Speaker 3: show about ten twenty six now was Beckley called the
- 1:06:40Speaker 3: Beckley Bunch.
- 1:06:42Speaker 1: I do remember this vaguely.
- 1:06:47Speaker 3: Well, there was somebody believed to be Joe Cody's nephew
- 1:06:55Speaker 3: staying at the rooming house at the same time as Oswald,
- 1:06:59Speaker 3: whose name was Jack Cody.
- 1:07:06Speaker 1: It rings a bell.
- 1:07:08Speaker 3: Also, there is a name Joe in Oswald's phone book
- 1:07:24Speaker 3: for Kenneth Cody, who is also related to these Kafuzas
- 1:07:28Speaker 3: in some form or fashion, who was some type of
- 1:07:32Speaker 3: real estate agent. I guess he had written down his
- 1:07:36Speaker 3: name and number from uh, you know, going around looking
- 1:07:41Speaker 3: for rooming houses or places to stay.
- 1:07:44Speaker 1: That that's possible, But Kenneth Cody was not the same
- 1:07:48Speaker 1: guy staying at Oswalt's from No.
- 1:07:50Speaker 3: That was Jack Cody. Joe Cody is on the DPD
- 1:07:56Speaker 3: and believes to be Jack Cody's uncle, possibly Kenneth cody brother.
- 1:08:02Speaker 3: So it's a little gets a little weird there, Joe.
- 1:08:07Speaker 3: It gets a little weird there. And I saw a
- 1:08:15Speaker 3: little something something about a DPD officer named Jack Faulkner
- 1:08:22Speaker 3: who is also in No More Silence Hilarry Sneed book
- 1:08:26Speaker 3: that we reviewed, and he tells what he did that day.
- 1:08:30Speaker 3: This is Jack Faulkner. I'd never heard of this dude before,
- 1:08:34Speaker 3: but he was in the Criminal Intelligence Investigation Division of
- 1:08:37Speaker 3: the Dallas County Sheriff's Department. Sorry, not DPD, but he
- 1:08:41Speaker 3: was with the Dallas Sheriff's Office. He says, Uh, I
- 1:08:48Speaker 3: was a criminal investigator working out of the Sheriff's office
- 1:08:50Speaker 3: downtown and was standing outside the office waiting to see
- 1:08:53Speaker 3: the president, as were many other deputies, since the Sheriff's
- 1:08:57Speaker 3: department had no role in security for the parade. This
- 1:09:00Speaker 3: was not unusual since Dallas Police were responsible for events
- 1:09:03Speaker 3: inside the city, while the Sheriff's department dealt with matters
- 1:09:06Speaker 3: outside the city but still inside Dallas County. Much has
- 1:09:11Speaker 3: been written about how unpopular JFK was in Dallas, But
- 1:09:15Speaker 3: as the presidential parade came down Main Street right in
- 1:09:17Speaker 3: front of the office where the deputies were standing, that
- 1:09:21Speaker 3: obviously wasn't true, because I saw the crowds cheering him
- 1:09:25Speaker 3: as he drove by. I certainly didn't see anybody that
- 1:09:30Speaker 3: hated him. The sheriff was in the parade, Decker Bill Decker,
- 1:09:36Speaker 3: along with Chief Curry, who will get to in a minute,
- 1:09:41Speaker 3: and leading the parade in the league car. But of
- 1:09:45Speaker 3: course everybody wanted to see the president. I recalled very
- 1:09:47Speaker 3: well Jackie wearing the pink outfit and the smiles, and
- 1:09:50Speaker 3: John Kennedy. When they turned the corner and made in Houston,
- 1:09:53Speaker 3: it was all very inspiring. And when they turned back
- 1:09:56Speaker 3: onto Elm Street and headed towards the trip under Pass,
- 1:09:59Speaker 3: I heard three very distinct shots I'll never forget the sequence.
- 1:10:02Speaker 3: There was a pause between one and two, and then
- 1:10:06Speaker 3: number two and three were rapid very close together, like
- 1:10:09Speaker 3: bang bang bang. Uh. At that point actually thought someone
- 1:10:17Speaker 3: had attempted to shoot the president and that the Secret
- 1:10:19Speaker 3: Service had shot back. It was that fast. So uh
- 1:10:25Speaker 3: A D. Mccurly, who I believe you? Did you talk
- 1:10:28Speaker 3: about him earlier?
- 1:10:30Speaker 1: Oh?
- 1:10:30Speaker 3: No, it was either one. You couldn't find nothing on
- 1:10:35Speaker 3: You're muted, don't.
- 1:10:38Speaker 1: I misspelled his name?
- 1:10:44Speaker 3: What did you? What did you call him?
- 1:10:55Speaker 1: I misspelled it, curly, So I was leaving it to you, sir.
- 1:11:05Speaker 3: Okay, Well, as we were crossing Elm Street, mccurly picked
- 1:11:12Speaker 3: up a white piece of bone near the north curb
- 1:11:17Speaker 3: and he asked me, you think this is part of
- 1:11:19Speaker 3: his skull? So we have Joe Cody supposedly finding a
- 1:11:26Speaker 3: bone fragment, You have mccurly and Faulkner finding a bone fragment,
- 1:11:34Speaker 3: and then well the next day somebody named Harbor excuse me,
- 1:11:38Speaker 3: found another bone fragment. So I mean this dude's skull
- 1:11:42Speaker 3: must have been blasted away, like blasted away. Yeah, big pieces,
- 1:11:49Speaker 3: like big enough to find on the street, big enough
- 1:11:53Speaker 3: to stop and pick it up and say, domn, you
- 1:11:56Speaker 3: think this is a piece of a skull.
- 1:11:59Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:12:02Speaker 3: In any case, we reached the grassy Knoll when people
- 1:12:04Speaker 3: were lying down trying to dodge the bullets. There was
- 1:12:08Speaker 3: quite a few people. An officer was searching the parking
- 1:12:10Speaker 3: lot and going through railroad cars in the railroad yards,
- 1:12:12Speaker 3: but of course didn't find anything except the three trams.
- 1:12:18Speaker 3: I really didn't do that myself. There was probably as
- 1:12:20Speaker 3: much confusion as you can imagine, and no one was
- 1:12:23Speaker 3: in charge, but everyone was doing but that they were
- 1:12:25Speaker 3: trained to do. I know my partner, who was on
- 1:12:28Speaker 3: the other side of the street, started gathering people to
- 1:12:30Speaker 3: take statements. And when we went up in front of
- 1:12:33Speaker 3: the Texas Schoolook Depository building, a little black boy was
- 1:12:36Speaker 3: telling the police sergeant then he'd seen a man shoot
- 1:12:39Speaker 3: out of that building, so this would have been to
- 1:12:42Speaker 3: amos Ewans. The sergeant didn't related to that information to us.
- 1:12:47Speaker 3: So Bill Wiseman, Ad McCurley, Joe Lorraine, who had been
- 1:12:51Speaker 3: a former deputy and who was now working for the
- 1:12:54Speaker 3: State Labor Board, and I took it from there and
- 1:12:56Speaker 3: went in the front door of the building, guns blazing.
- 1:13:00Speaker 3: This was about ten minutes after the shooting. At that time,
- 1:13:04Speaker 3: the building had not yet been sealed by the police.
- 1:13:10Speaker 3: Ten minutes after the shooting, the building is still not sealed.
- 1:13:18Speaker 3: We contacted the manager who said, well, everybody's here, it
- 1:13:23Speaker 3: was here when the parade went through when the shooting occurred,
- 1:13:26Speaker 3: except Lee Harvey Oswald. So ten minutes after the shooting,
- 1:13:32Speaker 3: as soon as they walked in the front door, they
- 1:13:34Speaker 3: encounter the manager who says, well, everybody's here except for
- 1:13:38Speaker 3: this guy, Lee Harvey Oswald. I don't think that's a
- 1:13:43Speaker 3: very likely story.
- 1:13:44Speaker 1: No, I think we know Givens was missing as well.
- 1:13:48Speaker 3: Right, well, they wouldn't know ten minutes into it who's
- 1:13:51Speaker 3: there and who's not. Half the people were outside watching
- 1:13:54Speaker 3: the damn thing, you know what I mean, Like, how
- 1:13:57Speaker 3: would they know at that point, right, and he had
- 1:14:00Speaker 3: done their row call in ten minutes. The building's not
- 1:14:03Speaker 3: even sealed.
- 1:14:04Speaker 1: Yet, right exactly. Yeah, it's not an hour and ten
- 1:14:08Speaker 1: minutes after, No, ten minutes after that's a big difference.
- 1:14:13Speaker 3: Yeah, this is this sounds like a story, you know,
- 1:14:16Speaker 3: he says. We then it went up the freight elevator
- 1:14:18Speaker 3: and started searching. I was expecting to see someone with
- 1:14:21Speaker 3: the gun, so I had my gun out as they
- 1:14:23Speaker 3: had already shot the president. After a while, it seemed
- 1:14:26Speaker 3: as though the building was just full of officers, so
- 1:14:30Speaker 3: we more or less concentrated the search on the sixth floor.
- 1:14:34Speaker 3: They were even looking up in the ceilings trying to
- 1:14:36Speaker 3: find a gun that had been laid up in the rafters. Uh.
- 1:14:43Speaker 3: When we arrived on the sixth floor, and I pay
- 1:14:45Speaker 3: close attention here, Joe, there were skill saws and plywood
- 1:14:51Speaker 3: lying all over the floor. Okay, this is, of course,
- 1:14:56Speaker 3: from the floor crew was laying floor on the sixth
- 1:15:01Speaker 3: floor that morning. Yeah, I observed the location from where
- 1:15:11Speaker 3: the shots were fired. Boxes were arranged like a bird's
- 1:15:15Speaker 3: nest around that window in the corner. If anyone had
- 1:15:19Speaker 3: come up from behind, they couldn't have seen what was
- 1:15:21Speaker 3: going on in that area. I saw three holes which
- 1:15:25Speaker 3: were very close together. So this guy says he saw
- 1:15:29Speaker 3: three shells still on the floor, not two, not two.
- 1:15:41Speaker 3: All three shells were in an area very close together,
- 1:15:44Speaker 3: probably in an area within ten inches of each other
- 1:15:48Speaker 3: and ten inches in diameter, So a very tight grouping
- 1:15:52Speaker 3: of shells, three of them to be exact. And we've
- 1:15:56Speaker 3: all seen the pictures and They're all not in a
- 1:15:59Speaker 3: ten inch area in diameter, So what the hell is
- 1:16:04Speaker 3: going on here, Joe.
- 1:16:07Speaker 1: I think they're just trying to get their story together.
- 1:16:10Speaker 1: And I think by reading these initial statements you could
- 1:16:13Speaker 1: tell that the narrative was not condensed by then.
- 1:16:19Speaker 3: Yeah, and then he says, well, that's my recollection from
- 1:16:23Speaker 3: years later looking back, that may not be correct on
- 1:16:27Speaker 3: my facts. He said, it's possible they may have been
- 1:16:31Speaker 3: moved by the time I saw him.
- 1:16:34Speaker 1: He's sitting on the fence.
- 1:16:38Speaker 3: It's possible they may have been moved by the time
- 1:16:40Speaker 3: I saw them. Now, why would you pick up some
- 1:16:44Speaker 3: holes off the floor and then throw them back on
- 1:16:47Speaker 3: the floor. You would collect the shells and be done
- 1:16:53Speaker 3: with it. You wouldn't pick them up and then, well,
- 1:16:57Speaker 3: maybe I shouldn't have touched them. I'm gonna put them
- 1:16:59Speaker 3: back on the floor. Yeah, I mean, I know some
- 1:17:04Speaker 3: of these guys aren't the brightest, but damn. He says.
- 1:17:09Speaker 3: There was also some chicken bones close by. Evidently he
- 1:17:12Speaker 3: had chicken for lunch. There were people that worked with
- 1:17:15Speaker 3: him that had maybe left, maybe at noon. I don't
- 1:17:19Speaker 3: know where they went because I didn't investigate that part
- 1:17:21Speaker 3: of it. I've also heard of a bag which carried
- 1:17:23Speaker 3: the rifle, but I never saw that. But he saw
- 1:17:27Speaker 3: the shells missed the rifle bag, Homie. Okay, he says
- 1:17:36Speaker 3: it could have been there, but I didn't notice it.
- 1:17:38Speaker 3: It's kind of hard to miss that big ass bag, right,
- 1:17:43Speaker 3: he said. I was very close to Officer Boone when
- 1:17:45Speaker 3: he spread some books aside which were packed in large
- 1:17:49Speaker 3: boxes and found the rifle. I was about six feet
- 1:17:52Speaker 3: from the rifle when I first saw it. I wasn't
- 1:17:54Speaker 3: able to identify it, but I could tell that there
- 1:17:56Speaker 3: was some kind of military rifle. I ever touched it,
- 1:18:00Speaker 3: and we left it in place until the crime scene
- 1:18:02Speaker 3: search officer, Lieutenant Day came and picked it up by
- 1:18:05Speaker 3: the strap. It wasn't long before the rifle was being
- 1:18:09Speaker 3: referred to as a Mauser. The O three Springfield is
- 1:18:13Speaker 3: a Mauser type rifle, which was our standard military rifle
- 1:18:17Speaker 3: for years. The Mauser design was copied, and possibly someone
- 1:18:21Speaker 3: saw it and said it looked like a Mauser, which
- 1:18:23Speaker 3: it did. There's no doubt in my mind, since I
- 1:18:26Speaker 3: later examined the man lik a carcano, that that was
- 1:18:30Speaker 3: the rifle found at the scene. Now there's much more here.
- 1:18:36Speaker 3: We could get into next Wednesday. But oh, by the way,
- 1:18:42Speaker 3: Joe Jack Faulkner of the Sheriff's Department was Bill Decker's
- 1:18:49Speaker 3: neighbor for fifty years. Next door neighbor, neighbor, neighbor.
- 1:19:00Speaker 1: Yeah, and this was before iPhones and shit like that,
- 1:19:05Speaker 1: so you knew your neighbor.
- 1:19:08Speaker 3: Yeah. Now what's interesting here too is he also mentions
- 1:19:13Speaker 3: that he thought about investigating a little more this other
- 1:19:23Speaker 3: person that was at the rooming house that Oswald stayed at,
- 1:19:29Speaker 3: because at this point they don't know who, you know,
- 1:19:31Speaker 3: if he's Gonnabody working with him, who his friends are, whatever, whatever.
- 1:19:36Speaker 3: But the other guy, there's another guy staying at Beckley
- 1:19:41Speaker 3: and his name was Herbert Leon Lee or h Lee.
- 1:19:47Speaker 3: Now Lee Oswald was staying at the Beckley house under
- 1:19:50Speaker 3: the name O H Lee, right right, But Herbert Leon
- 1:19:55Speaker 3: Lee was Wow, what's the exact word, I'm looking for?
- 1:20:07Speaker 3: A floor builder, a floor maintenance worker. Basically, the dude
- 1:20:14Speaker 3: laid in repaired floors for a living. Now, the interesting
- 1:20:20Speaker 3: thing about Herbert Leon Lee is he would go on
- 1:20:28Speaker 3: to become a cop later in life. He got a
- 1:20:38Speaker 3: little how do they say, disgraced as a cop and
- 1:20:49Speaker 3: he got a DUI as a cop, and he got
- 1:20:53Speaker 3: fired from his job. But yeah, let's see here, I
- 1:20:59Speaker 3: got pulled up now and Herbert Leon Lee was from Shreveport, Louisiana.
- 1:21:04Speaker 1: Joe, you can't make this stuff up.
- 1:21:09Speaker 5: You cannot make this shit up, oh man.
- 1:21:14Speaker 3: So yeah, Leon he was also in the US Navy.
- 1:21:20Speaker 1: This is.
- 1:21:22Speaker 3: He worked as a floor installer for over thirty years
- 1:21:26Speaker 3: and then joined the Jefferson, Texas Police Department. But yeah,
- 1:21:34Speaker 3: at some point he got fired, and then a year
- 1:21:38Speaker 3: later he was hired by some other backwoods ass Texas
- 1:21:43Speaker 3: Police department. He was He was forty one years old
- 1:21:51Speaker 3: and was arrested at three am on a Monday by
- 1:21:58Speaker 3: Dangerfield Police. Lee, who had had been off duty for
- 1:22:03Speaker 3: about four hours at that point, was still in uniform,
- 1:22:09Speaker 3: shit faced, driving his own car. He wasn't driving in
- 1:22:12Speaker 3: a sheriff's car, but he says, I observed him and
- 1:22:18Speaker 3: another and after talking with him, I told him I
- 1:22:22Speaker 3: was putting him on a deficit of suspension. To me,
- 1:22:25Speaker 3: this was appropriate action to take. Something has come up
- 1:22:29Speaker 3: to change my mind. So technically he was fired. So
- 1:22:35Speaker 3: he said, the man did me a good job. He
- 1:22:39Speaker 3: made some mistakes, but nothing of this magnitude. So again,
- 1:22:49Speaker 3: when you start looking at some of these folks, you
- 1:22:53Speaker 3: got another connection from the DPD to the deep, from
- 1:23:00Speaker 3: the DPD to the roomy House.
- 1:23:04Speaker 1: That's crazy, man.
- 1:23:07Speaker 3: And also there was a guy staying there at the
- 1:23:10Speaker 3: same time named Buddy Joe Palmer who was also an
- 1:23:17Speaker 3: active member of the Dallas Police Department at the time.
- 1:23:21Speaker 1: Wait, it was an active member and he was staying
- 1:23:24Speaker 1: at the roomy house.
- 1:23:25Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, Jesus, Chris. I don't know if he was
- 1:23:29Speaker 3: like a reserve or not, right, but very strange, very strange.
- 1:23:41Speaker 1: Extremely that is crazy with the Cody connection and that.
- 1:23:48Speaker 3: And don't forget John Carter, which I did an episode
- 1:23:52Speaker 3: on a couple of years ago, was also a person
- 1:24:00Speaker 3: staying at the roominghouse who was a painter who comes
- 1:24:03Speaker 3: up in New Orleans, right, but he's friends with Hank
- 1:24:13Speaker 3: kill Him, who ended up unliving himself diving through a
- 1:24:20Speaker 3: first floor window in Florida. He left Texas. He left
- 1:24:25Speaker 3: Dallas not too long after the assassination and was telling
- 1:24:29Speaker 3: his brother that they're after me, They're gonna kill me.
- 1:24:32Speaker 3: His wife, Wanda kill Him, was a dancer at the
- 1:24:35Speaker 3: Carousel Club. Yes, yes, so there's lots of interesting shit
- 1:24:45Speaker 3: going on here.
- 1:24:52Speaker 5: Wow.
- 1:24:54Speaker 3: When he starts saying, oh, this is weird.
- 1:25:01Speaker 1: It's fucking weird, that's for sure. Shit.
- 1:25:10Speaker 3: And then next up we got old Lummy Lumpkin. Lummy Lumpkin,
- 1:25:24Speaker 3: he says in his report, I believe this is too,
- 1:25:33Speaker 3: Chief Curry, he says. We then translated that it was
- 1:25:39Speaker 3: thought that president had been shot. Lumpkin asked instructions of
- 1:25:44Speaker 3: Chief Curry in the League car. So Lumpkin is in
- 1:25:46Speaker 3: the League car with Decker and Curry, and Curry instructed
- 1:25:50Speaker 3: Lumpkin to meet him at Parkland Hospital. Lumpkin proceeded to
- 1:25:54Speaker 3: Parkland with the motorcycle escort with the President's vice Press
- 1:26:00Speaker 3: residence and several other cars of the motorcade at a
- 1:26:03Speaker 3: Code three speed. Upon arrival at the hospital, was observed
- 1:26:07Speaker 3: the President was being taken from the car and into
- 1:26:09Speaker 3: the hospital. At that time, Lumpkin suggested the Chief Curry
- 1:26:13Speaker 3: that he take the homicide detectives back to elm in Houston,
- 1:26:17Speaker 3: where it was thought the shots were fired from. Uh,
- 1:26:22Speaker 3: that's a good idea, I think all reckon. Upon arrival
- 1:26:26Speaker 3: with the Schoolbook Depository, we found that Inspector Sawyer was
- 1:26:30Speaker 3: in front of the building and with assistance from other officers,
- 1:26:33Speaker 3: was in the process of detaining everyone who had knowledge
- 1:26:36Speaker 3: whatsoever of the shooting. This was discussed with Sawyer. We
- 1:26:41Speaker 3: decided that we should all get all persons in that
- 1:26:44Speaker 3: category away from the crowd by sending them over to
- 1:26:48Speaker 3: the Sheriff's Office at Maine in Houston to be held
- 1:26:51Speaker 3: for further interrogation and to give statements. Homicide Detective Turner
- 1:26:57Speaker 3: FM Turner was sent to the Sheriff's off office to
- 1:27:00Speaker 3: represent the Homicide and Robbery Bureau of the Dallas Police
- 1:27:03Speaker 3: Department and interrogating these witnesses. Detective Sinkle was released back
- 1:27:08Speaker 3: to Captain Fritz to assist in the investigation. Sawyer had
- 1:27:13Speaker 3: placed guards on the building to prevent anyone from going
- 1:27:15Speaker 3: in or coming out. Sawyer organized a detail to check
- 1:27:19Speaker 3: all persons and automobiles on the parking lots surrounding the
- 1:27:22Speaker 3: school book depository, taking their names, telephone numbers, addresses, and
- 1:27:26Speaker 3: place of his employment, and later on in the afternoon,
- 1:27:30Speaker 3: these vehicles that were not taken were checked for license
- 1:27:32Speaker 3: plate numbers. Several members of the United States Alcohol Tax
- 1:27:37Speaker 3: Unit assisted in the search. At that time, Lumpkin entered
- 1:27:42Speaker 3: the building and instructed it that it be completely sealed off.
- 1:27:46Speaker 3: No one was allowed to leave or enter. Lieutenant Eric
- 1:27:49Speaker 3: Kaminski was placed on the inner door of the building
- 1:27:53Speaker 3: and Lieutenant Jack Revel, together with Detective HH Davis Junior
- 1:27:57Speaker 3: and Detective Tommy Tompkins and several other detectives, were instructed
- 1:28:03Speaker 3: to clear the building of any any employees, office by office,
- 1:28:08Speaker 3: floor by floor. As each office and floor was cleared,
- 1:28:12Speaker 3: the employees were stopped by Kaminski and mister Trully, manager
- 1:28:16Speaker 3: of the firm, at the front door, where their names, addresses,
- 1:28:21Speaker 3: and phone numbers were written down and they were identified
- 1:28:24Speaker 3: by Truly as to their employment. As these employees were
- 1:28:28Speaker 3: taken from their place of work, the area was searched
- 1:28:31Speaker 3: by a Revels group and looked up if the area
- 1:28:34Speaker 3: could be or locked up. If the area could be
- 1:28:36Speaker 3: locked sorry, a uniformed man was posted on the stairways
- 1:28:43Speaker 3: and elevators to allow no one with the exception of
- 1:28:47Speaker 3: police officers to pass. A few minutes after arrival with
- 1:28:52Speaker 3: the building, mister Truly, the building manager, went to Lumpkin
- 1:28:56Speaker 3: and stated that he had some information that one of
- 1:28:58Speaker 3: his employees that had been there until a few minutes earlier,
- 1:29:01Speaker 3: was now missing. Now this is apparently before they sealed
- 1:29:08Speaker 3: the building, and we're checking everybody as they were leaving.
- 1:29:11Speaker 3: So how the fuck would truly know at this point
- 1:29:14Speaker 3: that somebody's missing.
- 1:29:18Speaker 1: Something without Yeah, with all the chaos going on at
- 1:29:21Speaker 1: that time.
- 1:29:22Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah. So Lumpkin then took mister Truly to the
- 1:29:28Speaker 3: sixth floor, where he introduced him to Captain Fritz. Truly
- 1:29:33Speaker 3: related his story to Fritz about Oswald being the only
- 1:29:38Speaker 3: one missing. As the building was cleared, it was determined
- 1:29:42Speaker 3: by Fritz and several homicide detectives that the shots were
- 1:29:45Speaker 3: fired from a window on the southeast corner of the
- 1:29:48Speaker 3: sixth floor, where three cartridges were found. Lumpkin then instructed
- 1:29:55Speaker 3: Revel to organize his team against the east wall of
- 1:29:59Speaker 3: the building on the sixth floor and make a systematic
- 1:30:02Speaker 3: search from east to west, floor to ceiling, checking all boxes, creates, books, rafters, etc.
- 1:30:10Speaker 3: A member of Rebel's searching party before completion of the search,
- 1:30:15Speaker 3: found the rifle that was thought to have been used.
- 1:30:23Speaker 3: Let's see. After that, Lieutenant Carl Day and Detective Studebaker
- 1:30:29Speaker 3: arrived shortly and began processing the building for the evidence.
- 1:30:37Speaker 3: After the crime scene crew had taken over on the
- 1:30:39Speaker 3: sixth floor, Lumpkin instructed Lieutenant Dyson to organize the search
- 1:30:44Speaker 3: crew and began on the roof with the aid of
- 1:30:46Speaker 3: firemen's ladders and lights, making a complete and systematic search
- 1:30:49Speaker 3: from roof to basement, posting a man on each floor.
- 1:30:52Speaker 3: After the search was completed, to let no one back
- 1:30:54Speaker 3: in except police, Lumpkin instructed Rebel to organize the search group,
- 1:31:00Speaker 3: began his search in the basement and search to the roof.
- 1:31:04Speaker 3: Both search groups went over each other's area twice. It
- 1:31:08Speaker 3: was ascertained that no suspect was hiding in the building,
- 1:31:13Speaker 3: so they were pretty thorough about checking the building after
- 1:31:16Speaker 3: they finally got it sealed off and got everybody the
- 1:31:18Speaker 3: hell out of there. But this time, you know, yeah,
- 1:31:23Speaker 3: Pierce Almon, a Channel eight photographer, had gotten into the
- 1:31:26Speaker 3: building prior to our sealing it off and was allowed
- 1:31:29Speaker 3: to stay. He did not get in the way and
- 1:31:32Speaker 3: was very cooperative with the officers conducting the search. All
- 1:31:36Speaker 3: other persons, including the pressed, were kept out of the building.
- 1:31:40Speaker 3: Apparently Lumpkin missed Tom Aleiah, who filmed the officers searching
- 1:31:46Speaker 3: the sixth floor and missed Captain Jones who got stuck
- 1:31:56Speaker 3: inside the book depository after it mid sealed off as
- 1:31:59Speaker 3: well from Army and two.
- 1:32:00Speaker 1: Right Oh wait oh j Jones or something?
- 1:32:05Speaker 3: Yeah, mm hmm. So yeah, Joe, Uh, there's a little
- 1:32:12Speaker 3: scaffos the fuck are you going on around here?
- 1:32:15Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 1:32:17Speaker 3: And very interesting titty bits.
- 1:32:25Speaker 1: Yeah, and uh, you know, maybe we'll we'll go over
- 1:32:28Speaker 1: some more lesser known DPDS scuffusa's uh on members only
- 1:32:37Speaker 1: next Wednesday. But yeah, man, it just seems like they
- 1:32:40Speaker 1: just didn't have the story straight. There's chaos and everything
- 1:32:47Speaker 1: else that's going on right away that you know, it
- 1:32:51Speaker 1: doesn't add up.
- 1:32:52Speaker 3: Right, Yep, I'm part two. We'll have some some Jesse
- 1:32:59Speaker 3: Curry in it. Mm hmm, some interesting things from Jesse
- 1:33:02Speaker 3: Curry and uh, you know, some other some other little tidbits.
- 1:33:08Speaker 3: But yeah, but that's all we got for the show tonight.
- 1:33:17Speaker 3: Is there any questions comments? We can ask her answer
- 1:33:24Speaker 3: questions live?
- 1:33:26Speaker 1: There was one Timothy Ryan had a good one. He goes,
- 1:33:29Speaker 1: who was everyone, uh on the floor crew? And let's
- 1:33:37Speaker 1: think you got Givens you have crew? I think so.
- 1:33:49Speaker 1: I think you had Bonnie ray on there too. Denny
- 1:33:51Speaker 1: Arsay obviously Shelley was kind of managing that.
- 1:33:56Speaker 3: Givans was checking orders that day. I'm pretty sure I
- 1:33:59Speaker 3: don't think he was. Bonnie Ray, Williams, Billy Lovelady who.
- 1:34:06Speaker 1: Work up Yeah, Gibbons worked on upper floors at times,
- 1:34:10Speaker 1: so we don't know if you specifically was doing it
- 1:34:14Speaker 1: that day.
- 1:34:16Speaker 3: Well, he was the order checker for Fraser and Oswald. Right,
- 1:34:22Speaker 3: So you have all that were arrested, which is Shelley,
- 1:34:26Speaker 3: our Say, Williams, and Doherty, plus there was Billy Lovelady
- 1:34:32Speaker 3: who was not arrested, but he was later taken to
- 1:34:34Speaker 3: the station but he wasn't arrested with all them guys,
- 1:34:40Speaker 3: but the entire floor crew did manage to get dragged
- 1:34:45Speaker 3: down to the station. Mm hmmm, because they were all
- 1:34:48Speaker 3: working on the sixth floor that day.
- 1:34:51Speaker 1: Right, and they were all there by the time Oswalt
- 1:34:56Speaker 1: was brought in. So when you think about that famous photo,
- 1:35:02Speaker 1: you know, way before Oswald.
- 1:35:06Speaker 3: Was arresting, the video of Oswald getting marched by Billy
- 1:35:09Speaker 3: Lovelady in the police station. We just heard from Shelley
- 1:35:13Speaker 3: who was getting interrogated when they brought Oswald into the station.
- 1:35:19Speaker 1: We might be missing one or two.
- 1:35:21Speaker 3: He was given a statement. Now there wasn't that many.
- 1:35:25Speaker 3: It was five or six guys. Hmm, that's it. I mean,
- 1:35:32Speaker 3: how many pollocks does it take to la.
- 1:35:37Speaker 1: Hey watch it. I'm twenty five pollock. But uh yeah, man,
- 1:35:46Speaker 1: I'm glad all as well. Sorry for my SKAFFOOZERI early
- 1:35:53Speaker 1: in the show what technical difficulty is, but I think
- 1:36:00Speaker 1: we ended up having a pretty good conversation on things.
- 1:36:04Speaker 3: And yes, thanks for sticking with us, folks.
- 1:36:08Speaker 1: Yep, and uh rest in peace, kitty.
- 1:36:15Speaker 3: Yes, all right, pasy, yes, a good long life and
- 1:36:21Speaker 3: went to sleep. So hey, that's the way to go?
- 1:36:27Speaker 1: Is the way to go?
- 1:36:28Speaker 3: And uh, god says, what are the chances the floor
- 1:36:33Speaker 3: builder guy Herbert leon Leave in the roomyhouse between the
- 1:36:36Speaker 3: floors of the school boks blotter. I mean, I don't,
- 1:36:39Speaker 3: I don't know. It was just they were I think
- 1:36:42Speaker 3: they were reaching a little bit. But what are the
- 1:36:47Speaker 3: chances that a guy who builds floors is in the
- 1:36:49Speaker 3: same room the house as Lilee Harvey Oswald with the
- 1:36:52Speaker 3: same almost the same name.
- 1:36:55Speaker 1: It's weird, I mean, it's.
- 1:36:58Speaker 3: Weird, and would I would strike me as a little.
- 1:37:01Speaker 1: Odd, especially the fact that his specialty was floor building
- 1:37:08Speaker 1: guy right.
- 1:37:09Speaker 3: Yeah, thirty years you know. Apparently he did it on
- 1:37:13Speaker 3: the side as well as being a cop. So and
- 1:37:17Speaker 3: he'd like to drink.
- 1:37:22Speaker 1: Respect.
- 1:37:22Speaker 3: Then he had multi many loan stars. Though.
- 1:37:29Speaker 1: We were bullshitting earlier because Erica and I just finished
- 1:37:33Speaker 1: True Detective season one and Matthew McConaughey was like making
- 1:37:38Speaker 1: little straw men or metallic men out of his lone stars.
- 1:37:47Speaker 1: I think I brought that up on numbers only, but
- 1:37:50Speaker 1: it was funny, and yeah, a lot a couple of
- 1:37:56Speaker 1: people here didn't know about True Detective season one and
- 1:37:59Speaker 1: definitely hit that up if you haven't. That is peak.
- 1:38:06Speaker 1: It is the best season. And Rob i waskafuzaing with
- 1:38:10Speaker 1: people in the chat they are bringing season five back
- 1:38:14Speaker 1: with the Tramp's dad or son, Woody Harrelson. That's a joke.
- 1:38:22Speaker 1: Matthew McConaughey and the Girl from Yellowstone. That's going to
- 1:38:27Speaker 1: be the season five. Yeah, if I if I if
- 1:38:32Speaker 1: the add on Facebook is true, but.
- 1:38:35Speaker 3: So if I'm seasons, that would be number number one.
- 1:38:40Speaker 3: The Vince Vallen Colin Farrells be number.
- 1:38:42Speaker 1: Two, you think. So I hated that one.
- 1:38:46Speaker 5: What I didn't like that one?
- 1:38:49Speaker 1: I like the one with the black guy that loses
- 1:38:54Speaker 1: his memory. Better.
- 1:38:57Speaker 3: Oh yeah, that's that'd be third for me. And did
- 1:39:00Speaker 3: Jodie Foster be four?
- 1:39:01Speaker 1: But yeah, but I mean that should be interesting that season.
- 1:39:07Speaker 5: I'm a Colin fan, so okay, I respect that. I
- 1:39:11Speaker 5: respect that. Yeah, I did too, more when he's doing
- 1:39:17Speaker 5: comedy than drama.
- 1:39:18Speaker 1: Yes, yeah, you got you gotta branch out somewhere, right,
- 1:39:23Speaker 1: which I guess weaves it all back to me branching
- 1:39:26Speaker 1: out starting the show by myself. But I'm glad all
- 1:39:30Speaker 1: all all is relatively good. Not all good, but rest
- 1:39:36Speaker 1: in peace, Kittie and uh I have the damn dog
- 1:39:42Speaker 1: at my feet here.
- 1:39:45Speaker 3: So yes, hopefully Ruby does not mean anytime soon.
