- 0:01Speaker 1: Good mor than everybody. This is Gil and today is Tuesday,
- 0:05Speaker 1: October twenty nine. Halloween is a couple of days away.
- 0:08Speaker 1: We also have the presidential election in like six days
- 0:12Speaker 1: or so, six or seven days. Today, I wanted to
- 0:15Speaker 1: speak to you about discipline according to the King James
- 0:19Speaker 1: version of the Bible. I'm having some issues with discipline.
- 0:25Speaker 1: I don't believe that we should discipline out of anger.
- 0:28Speaker 1: My wife and I have two separate views on discipline.
- 0:33Speaker 1: We both share that punishment is a part of discipline,
- 0:37Speaker 1: of course, but the approach to it is different. So
- 0:41Speaker 1: today I did an essay based on the King James version.
- 0:44Speaker 1: The research that I could find on the King James
- 0:47Speaker 1: version of discipline. Discipline is a crucial aspect of guidance
- 0:51Speaker 1: and education, especially in the context of parenting and personal development.
- 0:56Speaker 1: The King James version of the Bible offers timeless wisdom
- 0:59Speaker 1: on the principles and practices of discipline, emphasizing the importance
- 1:03Speaker 1: of love, correction, and instruction. This essay explores Biblical teachings
- 1:09Speaker 1: on discipline, drawing insights from various scriptures to provide a
- 1:12Speaker 1: framework that is both compassionate and effective. I remember when
- 1:17Speaker 1: my son probably four or five six years old, first
- 1:20Speaker 1: went to Westminster Christian Academy. They took it upon themselves
- 1:24Speaker 1: to teach you how to use the roth, in other words,
- 1:28Speaker 1: how to whip a child, how to spank a child.
- 1:31Speaker 1: How it's not done out of anger, How it's done
- 1:33Speaker 1: out of love, It's done out of compassion, and it's
- 1:37Speaker 1: done with the end result of making and creating a
- 1:41Speaker 1: better human being. And once I found out that anger
- 1:45Speaker 1: has nothing to do with discipline, my relationship with my
- 1:48Speaker 1: children became better. I became a bread of father, and
- 1:51Speaker 1: there was a clearer focus and more clear focus on
- 1:56Speaker 1: the discipline, on the problem at hand, and why you
- 1:59Speaker 1: shouldn't this, and why.
- 2:01Speaker 2: This should happen. But anyway, the purpose of discipline.
- 2:04Speaker 1: The Bible teaches that discipline is an essential component of
- 2:07Speaker 1: growth and development. In Proverbs three eleven twelve, it has written,
- 2:11Speaker 1: my son despise not the chastening of the Lord, not
- 2:14Speaker 1: to be weary of his correction. For when the Lord loveth,
- 2:17Speaker 1: he correcteth, even as a father the son in whom
- 2:21Speaker 1: he delighteth. This passage illustrates that correction is rooted in love.
- 2:27Speaker 1: The purpose of discipline is not punishment, but rather nurturing
- 2:30Speaker 1: and guiding to lead individuals towards positive behavior and spiritual maturity.
- 2:36Speaker 1: So I think the punishment is a portion of the
- 2:40Speaker 1: love and the nurturing and the caring. It shouldn't be
- 2:43Speaker 1: the objective. Discipline serves as a means to instill value
- 2:47Speaker 1: such as respect, responsibility, and self control. It is an
- 2:50Speaker 1: opportunity for teaching rather than merely reacting to undesirable behavior.
- 2:56Speaker 1: The King James version encourages parents and leaders to approach
- 2:59Speaker 1: discipline and understanding of its purpose shaping character and encouraging growth.
- 3:04Speaker 1: Now there are methods of discipline according to the Bible.
- 3:07Speaker 1: The first discorrection and instruction. The Bible emphasizes the need
- 3:11Speaker 1: for correction and Proverbs twenty two to six. It states
- 3:14Speaker 1: train up a child in the way he should go,
- 3:16Speaker 1: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.
- 3:19Speaker 1: This passage underscores the importance of establishing a foundation for
- 3:22Speaker 1: behavior early in life. Training involves both instruction and correction,
- 3:26Speaker 1: guiding individuals toward making wise choices. I wish that I
- 3:31Speaker 1: could find more about how you discipline with the absence
- 3:36Speaker 1: of anger. I think that's one of the most important
- 3:39Speaker 1: things of disciplined children. Number two, use of words. That's
- 3:42Speaker 1: a very big thing. Also the use of words, the reasoning,
- 3:46Speaker 1: I don't believe he should demean, call names, belittle.
- 3:51Speaker 2: Yes, they made a mistake. This is how.
- 3:53Speaker 1: We we fix it and correct it. And these are
- 3:57Speaker 1: the parameters that we're going to set the punishment, so
- 4:00Speaker 1: to speak, so that we don't repeat this behavior. Effective
- 4:05Speaker 1: discipline often involves verbal instruction. In Deuteronomy six six and seven,
- 4:10Speaker 1: it says, in these words which I command thee this
- 4:13Speaker 1: day shall be in thine heart, and thou shalt teach
- 4:16Speaker 1: them diligently unto thy children. This encourages importing values and
- 4:20Speaker 1: lessons through conversation and teaching and sharing that individuals understand
- 4:24Speaker 1: the rationale behind disciplinary actions. Number three Consequences of actions.
- 4:29Speaker 1: The Bible acknowledges that actions have consequences. In Galatians sixty seven,
- 4:34Speaker 1: it warns, be not deceived. God is not mocked. For
- 4:37Speaker 1: whoever for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.
- 4:42Speaker 1: This principle of sowing and reaping emphasizings that discipline involves
- 4:45Speaker 1: helping individuals understand the repercussions of their choices, falstering a
- 4:49Speaker 1: sense of accountability number four, Love and understanding. While discipline
- 4:54Speaker 1: can involve correction, it must always be tempered with love.
- 4:58Speaker 2: There it is no anger.
- 5:01Speaker 1: In Collosuons three twenty one in states, fathers, provoke not
- 5:04Speaker 1: your children to anger, lest they be discouraged. This verse
- 5:09Speaker 1: reminds caregivers to balance discipline with kindness and patience, avoiding
- 5:15Speaker 1: harshness that can lead to resentment. The role of forgiveness
- 5:19Speaker 1: and restoration. An essential aspect of biblical discipline is forgiveness
- 5:23Speaker 1: and the opportunity for restoration and Ephesians four thirty two
- 5:27Speaker 1: and be ye kind one to another, tend to hearten
- 5:30Speaker 1: forgiving one another, even as God, for Christ's sake, have
- 5:33Speaker 1: forgiven you. This principle teaches that after correction, it is
- 5:37Speaker 1: vital to extend grace and maintain healthy relationships. Discipline should
- 5:43Speaker 1: not lead to a cycle of shame, but rather to
- 5:46Speaker 1: reconciliation and growth.
- 5:49Speaker 2: There it is absence of anger.
- 5:53Speaker 1: Do not shame your children, but rather reconcile with them
- 5:57Speaker 1: and grow with them. That way the youth, extend grace
- 6:00Speaker 1: and maintain healthy relationships with your children. So, in conclusion,
- 6:04Speaker 1: discipline as outlined in the Bible is a multifaceted approach
- 6:08Speaker 1: that combines love, instruction, correction, and the possibility of restoration.
- 6:13Speaker 1: It says not only to correct behavior, but to foster
- 6:16Speaker 1: growth understanding in a deeper relationship with God and others.
- 6:20Speaker 1: By applying these principles, caregivers and leaders can create an
- 6:23Speaker 1: environment where individuals feel value and guide it, leading to
- 6:26Speaker 1: positive development and spiritual maturity. Embracing these biblical teachings on
- 6:31Speaker 1: discipline allows for a nurturing approach that reflects the love
- 6:35Speaker 1: and grace of God.
- 6:37Speaker 2: That's just so so important.
- 6:40Speaker 1: But anyway, so that is what we have today, or
- 6:43Speaker 1: what I have today, and that is this message was
- 6:47Speaker 1: brought on by things that are happening in my home.
- 6:52Speaker 1: I been reading and learning, and my discipline towards my
- 6:57Speaker 1: children is really the opposence anger. And my wife said,
- 7:01Speaker 1: how can you not be mad? Well, I don't need
- 7:03Speaker 1: to be mad. It's already happened. She's safe, he's safe,
- 7:07Speaker 1: there's no problems. They're not in any legal harm, they're
- 7:11Speaker 1: not in any legal trouble. So those are the things
- 7:13Speaker 1: that I thought were very important, was that we should
- 7:17Speaker 1: discipline out of anger.
- 7:18Speaker 2: And that's why I researched what I did today.
- 7:20Speaker 1: So that is my deconclusion of my essay on discipline
- 7:24Speaker 1: with the absence of anger. And this is GIL. Please like, subscribe, share,
- 7:28Speaker 1: and comment. Please let me know that you did enjoy this.
- 7:32Speaker 1: If you did, if you didn't, please let me know
- 7:34Speaker 1: that also. This is GIL. Thanks for listening. See you
