- 0:13SPEAKER_01: This year feels like it's been filled with heavy news, both globally and closer to home.
- 0:19SPEAKER_01: I've had numerous friends and family members who are struggling with life and death situations, and my heart feels the heaviness of the grief and the struggle.
- 0:30SPEAKER_01: One friend said to me the other day, Christmas is not supposed to be like this.
- 0:35SPEAKER_01: And I get it.
- 0:37SPEAKER_01: It feels like Christmas should be full of the comfort of home filled with all the people we love.
- 0:42SPEAKER_01: And I know many who are facing a first Christmas without someone or a last Christmas with somebody they hold dear.
- 0:50SPEAKER_01: My friend is right.
- 0:51SPEAKER_01: It's not supposed to be like this.
- 0:54SPEAKER_01: As the words of joy to the world describe, we live in a world where sin and sorrow grow and thorns infest the ground.
- 1:02SPEAKER_01: While we celebrate the coming of Jesus, we live in the fallenness of the world that He is coming to save.
- 1:09SPEAKER_01: The good news is found in another phrase in that same song.
- 1:13SPEAKER_01: It says, He comes to make his blessings flow far as the curse is found.
- 1:19SPEAKER_01: For whatever place we find ourselves in this fallen world, God's blessings flow as far as the curse is found.
- 1:27SPEAKER_01: For all my friends and family who are struggling, his blessings flow to every part of their lives too.
- 1:34SPEAKER_01: This is my hope for this Christmas for every place of sin and sorrow.
- 1:38SPEAKER_01: May our hearts be able to see the blessings of God flowing in the midst of the hard places.
- 1:44SPEAKER_01: His blessings are flowing, bringing the fullness of himself to meet you in the midst of your every need.
- 1:52SPEAKER_01: In Isaiah 9, 6 and 7, God proclaims who the Messiah will be.
- 2:00SPEAKER_01: The names used to describe him cover every type of situation we find ourselves in.
- 2:06SPEAKER_01: Are you in situations that feel too big for you?
- 2:10SPEAKER_01: He is wonderful, able to do more than you can imagine.
- 2:15SPEAKER_01: Unsure of what to do?
- 2:17SPEAKER_01: He is your counselor.
- 2:20SPEAKER_01: Do you need someone to fight for you?
- 2:23SPEAKER_01: He is mighty.
- 2:26SPEAKER_01: Do you need a miracle?
- 2:29SPEAKER_01: He is a God.
- 2:32SPEAKER_01: Is the future uncertain or the past overwhelming?
- 2:36SPEAKER_01: He is everlasting.
- 2:39SPEAKER_01: Are there wounded places in you that need healing?
- 2:44SPEAKER_01: He is your loving father.
- 2:47SPEAKER_01: Are you scared or uncertain?
- 2:50SPEAKER_01: He is your prince of peace.
- 2:52SPEAKER_01: And here's the best part of Isaiah 9.
- 2:56SPEAKER_01: It promises he is those things in abundance to us that never runs out.
- 3:01SPEAKER_01: If our struggles increase, so does his abundance.
- 3:04SPEAKER_01: His blessings flow far as the curse is found.
- 3:10SPEAKER_01: We're praying for you to receive the blessing of him, his joy, his peace, his strength, his love.
