- 0:03Speaker 1: Hey, everybody.
- 0:17Speaker 2: It's I Do Part Two. I am your celebrity mentor,
- 0:19Speaker 2: Bob Guinea, joined by two great fellow Bachelor of the
- 0:21Speaker 2: Nation alums, Deanna Pappas, who I always say her name correctly, and,
- 0:26Speaker 2: of course, Joan Vasos. So, ladies, I Do Part Two.
- 0:29Speaker 2: We all have been through our own schtick and our
- 0:31Speaker 2: own stuff. But it's the weekend. It's the freaking weekend.
- 0:34Speaker 2: And I know one of the best things to do
- 0:36Speaker 2: on the weekend for some of us would be to
- 0:38Speaker 2: Netflix and chill, which we know what that means. And
- 0:42Speaker 2: for the others would be to curl up on the couch,
- 0:44Speaker 2: pop some corn, watch a good movie or a good
- 0:47Speaker 2: TV show, which we are going to talk about today.
- 0:49Speaker 2: So if you're in Chapter 2, we wanted to take
- 0:51Speaker 2: this time to recommend some things that we think you
- 0:53Speaker 2: should be watching this weekend. And, you know, we've had
- 0:58Speaker 2: an opportunity to kind of talk through some things. But
- 1:00Speaker 2: before we get into our recommendations– We have all, we
- 1:03Speaker 2: are all divorcees, right? We've all been through it. We've
- 1:06Speaker 2: all had either divorce or loss. Um, and, and we've
- 1:10Speaker 2: become single at different stages in our lives than maybe
- 1:13Speaker 2: the folks who get married right out of high school
- 1:15Speaker 2: and stay together for 60 years.
- 1:16Speaker 1: Right.
- 1:17Speaker 2: So when you were going through your time of loss for, for,
- 1:22Speaker 2: for Joan and divorce for Deanna and myself, were there
- 1:26Speaker 2: TV shows and movies that you were drawn to? If so,
- 1:29Speaker 2: was it a specific genre? And then were there some
- 1:33Speaker 2: things you were avoiding at the same time? And ladies,
- 1:36Speaker 2: take it away.
- 1:36Speaker 3: I think you and I, in some of our little chats,
- 1:39Speaker 3: kind of feel the same way that I think I
- 1:42Speaker 3: was avoiding feelings. So I was trying to watch a
- 1:45Speaker 3: really mindless TV. I was so worried. I had all
- 1:49Speaker 3: these things going, playing through my head. My kids had
- 1:51Speaker 3: just lost their father. They were grown, but still, it
- 1:54Speaker 3: was a huge loss. It was a time in their
- 1:55Speaker 3: lives where they still needed their father so much. I
- 1:58Speaker 3: had boys that needed mentoring. I had girls that need
- 2:00Speaker 3: their daddy. You know, I had a brand new grandchild.
- 2:03Speaker 3: And so I felt all this guilt and I felt
- 2:06Speaker 3: all these feelings. And so I was avoiding them as
- 2:08Speaker 3: much as I could because they were in my head
- 2:09Speaker 3: all the time. So kind of my time to watch
- 2:12Speaker 3: TV is in the evenings when I kind of like
- 2:14Speaker 3: retreat to my bedroom and just try to decompress. And
- 2:17Speaker 3: the last thing I wanted was anything that was going
- 2:18Speaker 3: to remind me of this stuff. So I did stupid
- 2:20Speaker 3: things like HGTV and like any like, you know, old
- 2:25Speaker 3: sitcoms and like Big Bang Theory. I think I've watched
- 2:29Speaker 3: every episode of that like a thousand times just because
- 2:32Speaker 3: I needed things that didn't remind me of like what
- 2:35Speaker 3: I'd been doing all day.
- 2:36Speaker 4: Yeah, I think that grief and, you know, we have
- 2:39Speaker 4: all had this conversation. Bob, you and I had this
- 2:41Speaker 4: conversation most recently. Grief comes in many different forms and
- 2:45Speaker 4: different waves. And while I was not trying to avoid
- 2:50Speaker 4: the feelings, I think I did an exceptional job of
- 2:53Speaker 4: feeling every last wave of grief, good and bad and
- 2:57Speaker 4: sad and angry and all of the things. There were
- 3:00Speaker 4: times where I just needed to just check out. And
- 3:05Speaker 4: I love a good binge session because I'm actually kid-free
- 3:08Speaker 4: this weekend. So I'm so stoked that we're doing this
- 3:10Speaker 4: because I am still finding my footing as a single mom.
- 3:15Speaker 5: You know what I mean?
- 3:16Speaker 4: And I use the word single very clearly. I am
- 3:19Speaker 4: a single woman. I am a single mom. And so
- 3:23Speaker 4: when the kids leave, I'm still finding my footing in
- 3:25Speaker 4: a sense of like, I'm not dating anyone. So it's
- 3:28Speaker 4: not like I have someone to spend quality time with
- 3:30Speaker 4: on the weekends.
- 3:31Speaker 6: So when the kids leave, I am still.
- 3:34Speaker 5: you know, wrestling with those feelings of like, okay, they're
- 3:37Speaker 5: here for a week.
- 3:38Speaker 4: By the time they leave, I am exhausted. I have cooked,
- 3:41Speaker 4: I've cleaned, I've wiped butts. I've done all of the
- 3:43Speaker 4: things for a week. And then it is that like
- 3:46Speaker 4: inner torture, you guys, like the second they leave, I'm like, oh, oh.
- 3:52Speaker 5: I miss the kids. Where are they?
- 3:54Speaker 6: You know what I mean?
- 3:54Speaker 4: So I am still trying to figure it out and
- 3:58Speaker 4: kind of gauge filling myself up when the kids are gone.
- 4:02Speaker 5: And for me, that does look.
- 4:03Speaker 4: Like the first day that they leave, I usually just
- 4:07Speaker 4: isolate and lock myself in the house. And I find
- 4:10Speaker 4: something really good to binge.
- 4:13Speaker 5: Because I just need to check out. I just need
- 4:14Speaker 5: to mentally check out. Yeah.
- 4:16Speaker 2: And I understand that. I mean, I think it's interesting though.
- 4:19Speaker 2: Mom's Moms and dads are wired a little bit differently.
- 4:22Speaker 2: You know, like, you know, they always talk about mom guilt.
- 4:25Speaker 5: Right.
- 4:25Speaker 2: And there's that thing where, you know, like you just
- 4:28Speaker 2: said it, Deanna, like the whole week you're doing, you're
- 4:30Speaker 2: probably amped it up even more than when you when
- 4:33Speaker 2: you had a partner to parent with.
- 4:35Speaker 5: Right.
- 4:35Speaker 2: Like you've probably taken it to the next level knowing you.
- 4:38Speaker 2: Where it's like, you know, where before you would just,
- 4:40Speaker 2: you know, throw it, you know, I was watching your
- 4:43Speaker 2: post the other day about your ramen noodles.
- 4:45Speaker 5: They're so good, Bob.
- 4:46Speaker 2: I was thinking about you, though, because you're so sweet.
- 4:49Speaker 2: And it's like, you know, I bet, you know, it's
- 4:51Speaker 2: become a thing now where you're probably putting together gourmet
- 4:53Speaker 2: meals for the kids, whereas before it wouldn't have been
- 4:55Speaker 2: that way, right? Or it would have been, okay, chicken
- 4:57Speaker 2: nuggets every night or something. But it's like, you know,
- 5:00Speaker 2: now that you only have them like for that week,
- 5:02Speaker 2: you probably are putting on the, you know, it's putting
- 5:04Speaker 2: on the Ritz type of thing.
- 5:05Speaker 5: It's balls to the walls for seven days straight. And
- 5:08Speaker 5: then the kids leave.
- 5:08Speaker 4: And the other thing that I underestimated is, like, I
- 5:11Speaker 4: can describe many things about my marriage that I could
- 5:14Speaker 4: take it or leave it, but there at least was
- 5:16Speaker 4: a second set of hands.
- 5:18Speaker 5: By the end of the day, you know, you're just tapped, right?
- 5:21Speaker 4: We have these tiny humans that we're trying to raise
- 5:23Speaker 4: and just make them good people. That's what I want, good,
- 5:26Speaker 4: kind people.
- 5:26Speaker 5: And I do.
- 5:27Speaker 4: I put every ounce of me into that. So I
- 5:31Speaker 4: underestimated when I got divorced and became a single mom
- 5:34Speaker 4: how overstimulated I would be by the end of the day.
- 5:38Speaker 4: And now my kids are a little bit older now,
- 5:39Speaker 4: so they're a little bit more self-sufficient. But I just
- 5:42Speaker 4: find that when they leave, I don't want to cook.
- 5:45Speaker 4: I don't want to clean. I don't want to take
- 5:47Speaker 4: care of anyone else. or anyone else's big feelings, I
- 5:51Speaker 4: need to fill me up in that period of time
- 5:53Speaker 4: so that when they do return in a week, I
- 5:56Speaker 4: can go back to being a really exceptional mother.
- 5:58Speaker 5: Which I am.
- 5:59Speaker 2: Yeah. No, I get that. I do. I mean, I
- 6:02Speaker 2: didn't have kids when I got divorced. So it was,
- 6:06Speaker 2: you know, having children now, later in life and post-divorce,
- 6:10Speaker 2: is a totally different experience for me.
- 6:12Speaker 5: Right.
- 6:12Speaker 2: But, but I do know, like I go, I go
- 6:15Speaker 2: host things on the weekends and stuff like that. And
- 6:17Speaker 2: I don't, other than me missing them, I don't feel
- 6:20Speaker 2: the mom guilt. Right. So like I go and I'm like, Oh,
- 6:23Speaker 2: I'm going to go have this really fun. You know?
- 6:24Speaker 2: And then when I come back, I'll be even a
- 6:26Speaker 2: more energized and excited dad or something. But I know
- 6:29Speaker 2: my wife, I know Canyon would probably be feeling so
- 6:31Speaker 2: much guilt, you know, going away and just doing the
- 6:34Speaker 2: dumb stuff that I do. But you know, when you
- 6:36Speaker 2: said that Joan about what you were watching, I will
- 6:38Speaker 2: tell you, I watched friends reruns all the way through.
- 6:45Speaker 2: And it was because for me, it was funny. It was, um,
- 6:49Speaker 2: I didn't have to think too much. It was very
- 6:51Speaker 2: high level.
- 6:52Speaker 1: Right.
- 6:52Speaker 2: So it wasn't like I was having to, you know,
- 6:55Speaker 2: see something that's going to make me cry. You know,
- 6:57Speaker 2: it was like, I'm going to stay happy. I'm going
- 6:58Speaker 2: to stay light. Um, and I found myself drawn to that.
- 7:02Speaker 2: I did, however, find myself musically going down weird rabbit holes.
- 7:06Speaker 2: Like that was when, um, Oh my gosh. Uh, the band,
- 7:09Speaker 2: the script had just come out, you know, and it's like, uh,
- 7:13Speaker 2: you know, that song, when your heart breaks, don't break even.
- 7:15Speaker 2: I'm like, I know, right?
- 7:17Speaker 4: You just never know which personality you're going to get
- 7:20Speaker 4: fresh out of grief and divorce. Like, am I going
- 7:23Speaker 4: to be a crazy person or am I going to
- 7:24Speaker 4: be a sad person? Am I going to be a
- 7:26Speaker 4: kind person? Will I be joyful, happy, and free that day?
- 7:28Speaker 5: I don't know.
- 7:29Speaker 4: I really avoided like love stories. And one of my
- 7:33Speaker 4: top 10 favorite movies is The Notebook. It's that like,
- 7:37Speaker 4: It's that one for me that every time it comes
- 7:39Speaker 4: on TV, I will always watch it. It doesn't matter
- 7:41Speaker 4: how many times I've seen it. I will always watch it.
- 7:44Speaker 5: But I could not.
- 7:45Speaker 4: And really, y'all, I'm almost four or five years post-separation.
- 7:51Speaker 5: Divorce was final three years ago.
- 7:54Speaker 4: I'm just now to where I can read a love
- 7:57Speaker 4: story or sit and tolerate a love movie because I'm so...
- 8:03Speaker 4: I don't know, maybe I'm cynical and I'm jaded now.
- 8:05Speaker 2: I'm like, oh, it's bullshit.
- 8:06Speaker 5: That's not real. There's no way they like each other
- 8:08Speaker 5: that much. There's no way they can stand it. There's,
- 8:10Speaker 5: you know, like I, I'm jaded.
- 8:12Speaker 4: So like, I have to like, I went through my crime,
- 8:15Speaker 4: crime docu-series time where like everybody was getting murdered.
- 8:19Speaker 2: Oh, there you go. That's, See, I always worry, like
- 8:21Speaker 2: I tell a lot of my buddies, I'm like, you know,
- 8:23Speaker 2: you know, you're in trouble when you come home and
- 8:25Speaker 2: your wife's watching, you know, murder. This is what happens when,
- 8:29Speaker 2: you know, your wives who kill their husbands type shows.
- 8:32Speaker 6: Yeah, with antifreeze in their coffee.
- 8:33Speaker 5: Yeah, a true psychotic would watch it right before bed.
- 8:37Speaker 6: So I was kind of the opposite of you, Deanna.
- 8:40Speaker 3: I don't have a problem watching love stories because like
- 8:43Speaker 3: I still have my love story.
- 8:44Speaker 6: Like he was my person. I lost him because he
- 8:47Speaker 6: passed away.
- 8:47Speaker 3: So I still love a love story, but I look
- 8:51Speaker 3: at it through a different lens now.
- 8:53Speaker 6: Like I think, will this ever happen to me again?
- 8:55Speaker 6: Not like I'm jaded. I know it can happen.
- 8:58Speaker 3: Now I look at it and I go like, did
- 9:00Speaker 3: I have my one and only, you know, or, you know,
- 9:03Speaker 3: am I, am I with the right person now? Like I,
- 9:06Speaker 3: you know, I it's hard to have had the one
- 9:10Speaker 3: and then try to find somebody else.
- 9:12Speaker 6: Like it's hard to, Like, get those feelings back.
- 9:15Speaker 2: It's impossible not to compare, isn't it? Yeah. Yeah, it is.
- 9:18Speaker 3: And I really try not to because it's not fair
- 9:20Speaker 3: and you can't ever live. And you know what the
- 9:22Speaker 3: other thing about when you lose somebody, you forget the
- 9:25Speaker 3: bad parts.
- 9:27Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 9:27Speaker 3: So it's been five years for me and I only
- 9:30Speaker 3: remember the great things about John, which is crazy because our–
- 9:34Speaker 3: our marriage wasn't perfect by any means. I mean, you know,
- 9:36Speaker 3: we had lots of, lots of stuff that we went through.
- 9:38Speaker 3: I mean, you know, we were always in love, but
- 9:40Speaker 3: we went through some shit and everybody does. And I
- 9:43Speaker 3: only remember the good stuff. Like I remember him like in,
- 9:47Speaker 3: like it's at such a level now that it's really
- 9:50Speaker 3: unrealistic the way I remember him.
- 9:52Speaker 6: So it's so not fair to compare.
- 9:53Speaker 5: Man.
- 9:54Speaker 4: I wish that was the case. I only remember the
- 9:56Speaker 4: bad stuff, Bob. I only remember. I'm like, sorry, I
- 10:00Speaker 4: have to rack my brain to be like, how did
- 10:02Speaker 4: I end up with that person?
- 10:04Speaker 2: Yeah. Well, I mean, that was, and that's the difference, right?
- 10:07Speaker 2: I mean, like, you know, in my divorce too, what
- 10:09Speaker 2: was interesting was we, we just grew apart, right? We
- 10:12Speaker 2: were living on opposite coast. We never had like that,
- 10:15Speaker 2: you know, that catastrophic moment or anything like that was
- 10:18Speaker 2: more like a, wow, what a bummer when I were here,
- 10:21Speaker 2: you know? And so it was never like, I still
- 10:24Speaker 2: speak fondly of her and I know she does of me.
- 10:25Speaker 2: And so it's like, you know, that kind of situation
- 10:28Speaker 2: is a little different than what you went through too, Deanna, obviously.
- 10:30Speaker 2: But I was going to say, Joan, not to be
- 10:32Speaker 2: flippant about what you were saying, but I remember saying
- 10:34Speaker 2: to someone, they were dating someone who had lost their spouse,
- 10:39Speaker 2: like they had passed away. And I remember saying this,
- 10:42Speaker 2: we were talking one night and I said, man, it's
- 10:44Speaker 2: really difficult to And again, I don't mean this. I
- 10:47Speaker 2: hope this doesn't.
- 10:48Speaker 6: You won't offend me.
- 10:49Speaker 2: I was like, it's really difficult to compete with a ghost, right? Yeah,
- 10:53Speaker 2: people say that. And I was like, you know, because
- 10:55Speaker 2: when people pass away and that's, I think, the biggest
- 10:58Speaker 2: difference between loss and divorce. There is that dividing line where,
- 11:03Speaker 2: you know, when someone dies, it's like there's so all
- 11:07Speaker 2: these things we didn't get to do yet, right? Whereas
- 11:10Speaker 2: when you get divorced is all these things that I
- 11:13Speaker 2: wish we hadn't done. or whatever, you know, it's like
- 11:16Speaker 2: just differing angles of those feelings.
- 11:17Speaker 5: Or like death, you don't choose that. You don't choose
- 11:22Speaker 5: like that kind of loss.
- 11:24Speaker 3: And the thing is, when somebody passes away, when somebody dies,
- 11:28Speaker 3: your future kind of goes with them.
- 11:29Speaker 6: So, like, I remember, like.
- 11:31Speaker 3: All my future revolved around John and I being together
- 11:34Speaker 3: and the things that we were going to do together.
- 11:35Speaker 3: And our kids were growing up. And our last child
- 11:37Speaker 3: was in college when he passed away. You know, he
- 11:39Speaker 3: graduated right as John passed away. And so, like, all
- 11:42Speaker 3: of the future kind of disappeared.
- 11:45Speaker 6: So, it left.
- 11:45Speaker 3: And, like, with him, like, my future looked like a
- 11:48Speaker 3: black hole. I just had no concept of it. When
- 11:51Speaker 3: you get divorced, I imagine, and I could be wrong,
- 11:54Speaker 3: you guys can tell me, that you see a future
- 11:56Speaker 3: that's happier. You're like, okay, I have to be away.
- 11:59Speaker 6: From this thing that's been making me unhappy.
- 12:01Speaker 2: Eventually, yeah.
- 12:02Speaker 3: I just have to get to the next side and
- 12:04Speaker 3: find that happiness. I still have a hard time seeing
- 12:08Speaker 3: what the future looks like still because I spent so
- 12:10Speaker 3: many years with him.
- 12:11Speaker 6: We were together for over 30 years.
- 12:13Speaker 5: Yeah, that's a lifetime.
- 12:14Speaker 1: It is.
- 12:15Speaker 2: It was, yeah.
- 12:17Speaker 4: It's interesting how you all have the same grand– scheme
- 12:20Speaker 4: of the word in grief, but the different layers of
- 12:25Speaker 4: what we have each experienced. We've walked a similar path
- 12:29Speaker 4: in the fact that it is this one thing, but
- 12:32Speaker 4: there are so many different branches to it.
- 12:34Speaker 5: You know what I mean?
- 12:35Speaker 2: Yeah. No, it's so true. Well, I know that we
- 12:49Speaker 2: have all had our moments, obviously, but I think in particular,
- 12:53Speaker 2: we've probably gotten through them with some good binge watching, right?
- 12:57Speaker 2: And some good movies and some good TV shows. And Joan,
- 13:00Speaker 2: you mentioned one. Well, we have one in common. I
- 13:03Speaker 2: know you have another one that you mentioned that you
- 13:06Speaker 2: had watched that you really enjoyed. And why don't we
- 13:09Speaker 2: talk about that one first? Sure. So it's a book club.
- 13:12Speaker 6: And I think that It was kind of an iconic film.
- 13:16Speaker 3: Just because the actors and actresses that are in it
- 13:18Speaker 3: are like the elite Hollywood. So it stars Diane Keaton
- 13:23Speaker 3: and Jane Fonda, Candice Bergen, Mary Steinbergen, Craig T. Nelson,
- 13:29Speaker 3: Andy Garcia, and Don Johnson.
- 13:31Speaker 2: Okay.
- 13:31Speaker 3: So the men are all handsome and awesome. Well, not
- 13:33Speaker 3: all handsome, but they're all like iconic. And the women
- 13:36Speaker 3: are like.
- 13:36Speaker 6: Kind of my generation, maybe a little bit older than me.
- 13:39Speaker 6: Maybe not.
- 13:39Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 13:40Speaker 3: I didn't look up their ages. I think Jane Fonda
- 13:41Speaker 3: is a little older, but I hope to be her
- 13:43Speaker 3: one day. And so the actors and actresses are iconic.
- 13:48Speaker 3: But the theme of this movie is so good because
- 13:52Speaker 3: it spans across.
- 13:54Speaker 6: So many themes of love.
- 13:58Speaker 3: So there are four women who met in college. And
- 14:02Speaker 3: you see just a glimpse of that, like who they married,
- 14:04Speaker 3: what they did, career path.
- 14:06Speaker 6: One becomes a judge.
- 14:08Speaker 3: Three of the four get married and it shows them
- 14:10Speaker 3: now 40 years later at their monthly book club event,
- 14:15Speaker 3: which really is very little about books and way more
- 14:18Speaker 3: about drinking wine and challenging each other about where they
- 14:21Speaker 3: are in life and like what they're doing. And one
- 14:24Speaker 3: of the books they decide to read is Fifty Shades
- 14:26Speaker 3: of Grey.
- 14:27Speaker 5: Yum, yum, yum, yum, yum.
- 14:28Speaker 6: Yeah, good book. Bob, did you read that? I just
- 14:30Speaker 6: have to know. Do men read that book?
- 14:32Speaker 2: Men did not read. Well, I shouldn't say that. I
- 14:35Speaker 2: didn't read that one or The Vampire Thing. I didn't
- 14:37Speaker 2: read that.
- 14:37Speaker 5: No, I loved both of those, Bob. It gave women
- 14:40Speaker 5: everywhere the gift of sexuality.
- 14:43Speaker 3: It's just like it just put it right out there
- 14:44Speaker 3: in the open. It's like the door is now open.
- 14:47Speaker 3: So anyway, so they read Fifty Shades of Grey, and
- 14:50Speaker 3: it eventually has them all kind of questioning their own
- 14:53Speaker 3: intimacy and what they're doing in life. And so it
- 14:57Speaker 3: takes you through the journeys of almost all kind of loves,
- 15:02Speaker 3: except for somebody that had just a normal, lovely.
- 15:06Speaker 6: Easy marriage kind of thing.
- 15:08Speaker 3: So it starts out with one of the themes is
- 15:11Speaker 3: a woman who was never married. And of course, I
- 15:14Speaker 3: know you can probably guess this is Jane Fonda. And
- 15:17Speaker 3: so she had never been married and she finds, she
- 15:20Speaker 3: happens to out in the wild meet a man that
- 15:23Speaker 3: she had had a relationship with when she was much
- 15:25Speaker 3: younger and him trying to rekindle that relationship. And her
- 15:30Speaker 3: clearly had never been married, was kind of a corporate woman,
- 15:33Speaker 3: had this fear of commitment. And even though you could
- 15:36Speaker 3: see that there was this huge connection and she was
- 15:38Speaker 3: allowing it to be physical, but wasn't really allowing the
- 15:41Speaker 3: emotional part of it to happen and how she navigates
- 15:43Speaker 3: that later in life. Like this is her second chance
- 15:46Speaker 3: and she figures it out at the end of this movie.
- 15:49Speaker 3: I don't want to like spoil it for anybody, but
- 15:51Speaker 3: it's just really interesting how she navigates it. And then
- 15:53Speaker 3: there's Candace Bergen, who is, I bet you can guess,
- 15:56Speaker 3: she's like the federal judge. And she has been married,
- 15:59Speaker 3: but they're divorced. And he is with a younger woman,
- 16:03Speaker 3: she discovers. And how like that is such a hurt
- 16:06Speaker 3: on your ego. And she decides with these pushing of
- 16:10Speaker 3: her friends that she decides she's going to date online.
- 16:13Speaker 3: And it shows the funny online dates, which I know
- 16:15Speaker 3: we've all had. And it's that it should probably just
- 16:18Speaker 3: be a podcast all by itself. People's bad dating stories.
- 16:22Speaker 3: And she's right in the middle of those and how
- 16:23Speaker 3: she meets the, you know, the young new girlfriend who
- 16:26Speaker 3: they end up being engaged and all this. So then
- 16:29Speaker 3: that's another thing. Then there's this thing that I really
- 16:31Speaker 3: related to. So Diane Keaton plays a woman who recently
- 16:35Speaker 3: lost her husband. He's been gone for a year. She
- 16:37Speaker 3: has two grown daughters and her daughters are treating her
- 16:39Speaker 3: like she's really old. And they're saying, you should come
- 16:42Speaker 3: live in Arizona with us. And they're trying to convince
- 16:44Speaker 3: her of this. You don't feel like she's old. She
- 16:46Speaker 3: feels she's funny and she's fit and she's drinking wine
- 16:49Speaker 3: with her friends, but hasn't gone down the path of
- 16:53Speaker 3: dating again. And she's kind of allowing them to talk
- 16:55Speaker 3: her into that she's getting old and that they're going
- 16:58Speaker 3: to need to take care of her. And they convince
- 17:00Speaker 3: her to come to Arizona to see the basement apartment
- 17:03Speaker 3: they've made for her. And she meets a man on
- 17:06Speaker 3: the plane. And so she meets him out in the wild.
- 17:08Speaker 2: It's the dream.
- 17:09Speaker 6: It's the dream to meet out in the wild. Does
- 17:11Speaker 6: it ever happen anymore? I just want to know.
- 17:13Speaker 3: So she's on this plane. And I always picture it
- 17:16Speaker 3: could happen on a plane, right? So she meets him
- 17:18Speaker 3: on the plane. And she really likes him. And she
- 17:20Speaker 3: is making an effort without telling her daughters that she's good.
- 17:23Speaker 6: And she meets up with him.
- 17:24Speaker 3: And they track her down during a date and derail
- 17:29Speaker 3: the whole thing. And she leaves the guy. She's feeling
- 17:31Speaker 3: immense guilt about dating after only being... um, after only being,
- 17:35Speaker 3: you know, widowed for a year and about the, the
- 17:38Speaker 3: daughter's making her feel guilty. Like you've only been widowed
- 17:41Speaker 3: for a year and how could you do this? And
- 17:43Speaker 3: she's feeling this terrible guilt and leaves the love interest
- 17:45Speaker 3: behind and how this all comes around to her. Now,
- 17:49Speaker 3: coming back to the fact that she's really not old,
- 17:50Speaker 3: she does have a second chapter. She's entitled to it.
- 17:53Speaker 3: And she tells her daughters that, and you know, she
- 17:55Speaker 3: has her second chapter. And then lastly, we have the
- 17:59Speaker 3: woman who's been married for the whole time. She's still
- 18:01Speaker 3: married to the guy, but they're going through like life changes,
- 18:03Speaker 3: like as you get older. So this is all about
- 18:05Speaker 3: women getting older and about like the relationships and they're
- 18:08Speaker 3: getting older and he's retiring. And all of a sudden
- 18:10Speaker 3: he is not interested in having sex anymore. And she
- 18:13Speaker 3: thinks it's her and she's trying to dress up in
- 18:14Speaker 3: sexy outfits and she's trying to recreate their connection. And
- 18:18Speaker 3: he isn't going for it because it's all in his head.
- 18:21Speaker 3: She even sits in my Viagra in one.
- 18:24Speaker 2: Part of it.
- 18:25Speaker 3: And he's walking around, you know, with this thing happening
- 18:28Speaker 3: down there and he's like pissed at her. He's not
- 18:30Speaker 3: happy about it. He's not excited to have sex with her.
- 18:32Speaker 3: He's mad at her.
- 18:33Speaker 6: So it just goes through kind of all the themes
- 18:35Speaker 6: and how they all come around. And you know what?
- 18:38Speaker 3: The biggest thing for me in this thing is that
- 18:40Speaker 3: it's all about community. So they have each other to
- 18:43Speaker 3: like bounce things off of and to challenge them. And
- 18:47Speaker 3: it makes me think about my group of friends. And,
- 18:49Speaker 3: you know, I have groups that I go out with,
- 18:51Speaker 3: you know, at least once a month that, you know,
- 18:54Speaker 3: we kind of check in with each other and we
- 18:56Speaker 3: keep each other accountable that we're not letting our lives
- 18:58Speaker 3: just become boring and that we, you know, are still
- 19:01Speaker 3: doing things in our second chapter of life that are
- 19:04Speaker 3: meaningful and keep us involved and give our life meaning.
- 19:08Speaker 3: And it seems like, like, of all the things, I
- 19:11Speaker 3: loved all the love stories and the love connections and
- 19:13Speaker 3: how they kind of all figured things out, but I
- 19:15Speaker 3: loved their community. And that they relied so much on
- 19:18Speaker 3: each other and that they got each other to the
- 19:20Speaker 3: place they needed to be.
- 19:21Speaker 2: That's nice. I like that. I did not get to
- 19:24Speaker 2: read Fifty Shades of Grey, nor did I want to.
- 19:26Speaker 5: Bob, you should read it and give you and Canyon
- 19:30Speaker 5: some ideas, man.
- 19:32Speaker 6: Maybe they don't need it.
- 19:33Speaker 2: Canyon read it. Canyon read it.
- 19:35Speaker 6: But you were happy.
- 19:36Speaker 2: She loved it.
- 19:37Speaker 6: Here's volume two.
- 19:38Speaker 4: Yeah, Bob, you.
- 19:39Speaker 5: Reaped the benefits of that one. Let's be honest.
- 19:42Speaker 2: It's not a bad idea to be the guy when
- 19:44Speaker 2: your wife comes home from that book club.
- 19:45Speaker 6: A couple glasses of wine.
- 19:48Speaker 2: Look what I learned, honey.
- 19:49Speaker 5: You want to try it?
- 19:52Speaker 2: Paint our room red.
- 19:53Speaker 6: A little tipsy and with a whip.
- 19:56Speaker 2: I don't know. Why do we have a red room?
- 19:57Speaker 2: This is strange. But yeah, I think it's so funny,
- 20:01Speaker 2: you know, I mean, it's, it's interesting too. Cause I
- 20:03Speaker 2: love that Don Johnson's in that movie. And then his
- 20:05Speaker 2: daughter is in 50 shades of gray. Yeah.
- 20:07Speaker 3: I know like kind of a weird crossover. Um, and
- 20:10Speaker 3: I love, I love that connection too, but it's a
- 20:12Speaker 3: good movie. And Don Johnson is hot as can be
- 20:14Speaker 3: even like, like the pep, like salt and pepper beard
- 20:17Speaker 3: and gray hair.
- 20:18Speaker 6: He is still hot. And Andy Garcia. Oh, I just,
- 20:21Speaker 6: I don't think he's like super great looking, but he's
- 20:23Speaker 6: so damn sexy.
- 20:25Speaker 2: Both still studs. He's great in Landman, too. I think
- 20:29Speaker 2: Andy Garcia is great in Landman, too.
- 20:30Speaker 6: He is so good.
- 20:31Speaker 3: So I think that they hit everything just right in
- 20:35Speaker 3: this movie.
- 20:36Speaker 4: It does a great job of watching the parallels of
- 20:38Speaker 4: different lives and not missing anything that we all kind
- 20:43Speaker 4: of experience in real life.
- 20:45Speaker 5: You know what I mean?
- 20:46Speaker 4: I say that because we're not living a movie, but
- 20:47Speaker 4: it really gives us the experience of real life and
- 20:52Speaker 4: also the friendships.
- 20:53Speaker 5: You know what I mean?
- 20:54Speaker 4: The peace and friendship, the way that women bond when
- 20:56Speaker 4: they're going through. And I'm sorry not to discredit men, Bob,
- 21:00Speaker 4: but the way that women bond and we walk alongside
- 21:03Speaker 4: each other and lift each other up on days when
- 21:06Speaker 4: we can't do it for ourselves.
- 21:08Speaker 5: I love this movie. I think that was a great pick, Joan.
- 21:11Speaker 6: It was really good.
- 21:12Speaker 3: I'm so glad I got to talk about it today.
- 21:14Speaker 3: So maybe kind of bring it back. I think it
- 21:15Speaker 3: came out in like 2018 or something. So maybe it'll
- 21:17Speaker 3: bring it back to people's mind and people will stream it.
- 21:20Speaker 6: You can stream it. I watched it on Prime last night.
- 21:23Speaker 6: It was for like five bucks.
- 21:24Speaker 2: Deanna, you have one too that you had as a go-to,
- 21:27Speaker 2: didn't you? Yeah, I did. You know what?
- 21:28Speaker 5: Okay.
- 21:29Speaker 4: So I told you no kids this weekend and I'm
- 21:31Speaker 4: going to do all the things to fill me up.
- 21:32Speaker 4: And that starts by being, you know, On my couch
- 21:36Speaker 4: in one direction.
- 21:38Speaker 2: Looks like a comfortable couch, by the way, if that's
- 21:39Speaker 2: your couch behind you. Right?
- 21:40Speaker 5: I love that couch.
- 21:41Speaker 6: And there's room for Bob and I.
- 21:42Speaker 2: Bob, you ready?
- 21:43Speaker 6: You guys can all come over.
- 21:44Speaker 5: I can put one there and one vertical and then one,
- 21:47Speaker 5: you know what I mean? What's fine. I'm a good sharer.
- 21:49Speaker 5: I'm a good sharer, you guys.
- 21:50Speaker 2: I'll bring apps. Yeah, there you go.
- 21:53Speaker 4: Yeah, I am always looking for the next good binge.
- 21:57Speaker 4: And what I am turned on to right now is
- 22:00Speaker 4: a show on HBO called Divorce.
- 22:02Speaker 5: Okay. Okay.
- 22:05Speaker 2: Aptly named.
- 22:06Speaker 6: I know.
- 22:06Speaker 5: All right.
- 22:07Speaker 4: I'm not so sure it would be something that I
- 22:10Speaker 4: would have jumped on, but I am always looking for
- 22:13Speaker 4: suggestions of good shows. And I'll tell you what, I
- 22:15Speaker 4: really liked it. I love Sarah Jessica Parker. She's one
- 22:19Speaker 4: of the main characters. I am the girl who grew
- 22:23Speaker 4: up on Sex and the City, loved her, loved the show,
- 22:26Speaker 4: loved these women.
- 22:28Speaker 5: You know what I mean?
- 22:29Speaker 4: I do struggle with seeing Sarah Jessica Parker in different
- 22:34Speaker 4: shows and movies and not just seeing Carrie Bradshaw.
- 22:38Speaker 6: You know what I mean?
- 22:39Speaker 4: So Sarah Jessica Parker plays this woman, Frances, and she's married,
- 22:44Speaker 4: but she's having this affair. She participates in her divorce,
- 22:48Speaker 4: and it kind of blows up. There's some really big
- 22:51Speaker 4: names in this show, and I kind of love when
- 22:55Speaker 4: they do that. Just give us one or two people
- 22:58Speaker 4: that we know from several things, and then build.
- 23:01Speaker 5: The rest of the characters. I have.
- 23:04Speaker 4: issues, and I love to build relationships with the people
- 23:07Speaker 4: that I am watching.
- 23:08Speaker 5: In a show.
- 23:09Speaker 4: I need to feel attached, you guys. Maybe it's because
- 23:12Speaker 4: I'm old and single.
- 23:13Speaker 5: Who knows? But I need to feel attached to these people.
- 23:17Speaker 4: I struggle with infidelity storylines, and that is kind of
- 23:22Speaker 4: what is taking place on this show. It ran for
- 23:25Speaker 4: three seasons from 2016 to 2019, so I had never
- 23:29Speaker 4: heard of it before. But this is what I will
- 23:32Speaker 4: be binging. For the rest of the weekend, you guys,
- 23:36Speaker 4: I loved the character dynamic between the friendships and as
- 23:42Speaker 4: well as her and her husband. So I am the
- 23:46Speaker 4: type of person when I am binging a show, I
- 23:48Speaker 4: need to be hooked by episode two, three tops or
- 23:53Speaker 4: I'm out.
- 23:53Speaker 5: I can't finish it. I need to.
- 23:56Speaker 4: Feel like I know somewhat of what is going on
- 24:00Speaker 4: and feel attached to the show. And I will say,
- 24:03Speaker 4: I only got into the first episode.
- 24:05Speaker 2: And they're quick.
- 24:05Speaker 4: They're not long, like maybe, I don't know, 30, 45 minutes.
- 24:08Speaker 5: Really easy to watch. But within the.
- 24:11Speaker 4: First episode, I got so much information, right, about herself,
- 24:17Speaker 4: her marriage, her friendships. Like everyone's lives seem to be
- 24:20Speaker 4: falling apart. And they're at that stage of life where
- 24:22Speaker 4: they have been married for, you know, 20 or 30 years.
- 24:25Speaker 4: The newness has worn off. The opening scene is like
- 24:29Speaker 4: her brushing her teeth and her husband comes in.
- 24:31Speaker 6: He's like, oh.
- 24:32Speaker 4: There's not a bathroom and it's taking too long. And
- 24:34Speaker 4: I had to poop in a Folgers coffee canister. And
- 24:37Speaker 4: you can just see the complete, like she's Sarah Jessica
- 24:41Speaker 4: Parker is unbothered in this moment, but you also see
- 24:44Speaker 4: her doing, you know, she's, she's like a normal woman.
- 24:48Speaker 4: She is like looking at her eyes. She's, you know, looking,
- 24:51Speaker 4: pulling her skin back, seeing how she's just getting older.
- 24:53Speaker 2: Right.
- 24:54Speaker 5: She lifts her shirt.
- 24:54Speaker 4: She's looking at her boobs and those girls never hang
- 24:56Speaker 4: like they used to listen.
- 24:58Speaker 2: You know what I mean?
- 24:58Speaker 5: I'm almost 45.
- 25:00Speaker 4: So I just like off the bat related to her
- 25:03Speaker 4: and her character. And she's been married to this man
- 25:06Speaker 4: who's obviously, you know, he's older.
- 25:07Speaker 5: He's gained a little weight. The sex isn't as hot.
- 25:09Speaker 5: You know what I mean?
- 25:09Speaker 4: The things that happen in marriage and long-term marriages and
- 25:12Speaker 4: stuff like that. And then they go to their friend's
- 25:14Speaker 4: house for dinner and it's just straight chaos.
- 25:16Speaker 5: It's her birthday.
- 25:18Speaker 4: Everybody's really drunk and there's some dancing and she's fighting
- 25:20Speaker 4: with her husband who she literally cannot stand. They cannot
- 25:23Speaker 4: stand each other. He stands up and gives a speech
- 25:25Speaker 4: and he's like, This woman is the worst, but like
- 25:28Speaker 4: happy 50th birthday, babe.
- 25:30Speaker 5: I got you a dog.
- 25:31Speaker 4: And she's like, what the, you know what I mean?
- 25:33Speaker 4: So the friend accidentally shoots the husband and that's where
- 25:37Speaker 4: chaos ensues in this episode. And so from that moment,
- 25:42Speaker 4: I was kind of hooked because for me, I believe
- 25:46Speaker 4: it shared the reality of how challenging it can be
- 25:50Speaker 4: in partnerships. And don't get me wrong, I believe in
- 25:54Speaker 4: companionship and partnership. And I know we opened up this
- 25:57Speaker 4: episode talking about that and some of those good memories.
- 26:00Speaker 4: I'm not sure that I have ever experienced a real, loving,
- 26:05Speaker 4: healthy relationship. So I don't know that I know how
- 26:08Speaker 4: to do that. I don't know that I've ever had
- 26:10Speaker 4: my greatest love. I would like to hope that that
- 26:14Speaker 4: happens for me, but I'm not so sure that I
- 26:17Speaker 4: have experienced that yet. And so what I loved most
- 26:20Speaker 4: is like you see these people experiencing, you know, what
- 26:24Speaker 4: is real. Sarah Jessica Parker is having an affair with
- 26:27Speaker 4: a guy who you wouldn't picture her with. He's not attractive.
- 26:30Speaker 5: He's hairy.
- 26:31Speaker 4: Like he's kind of got a belly on him, but
- 26:32Speaker 4: she's like getting down. She tells her husband chaotically she
- 26:36Speaker 4: wants a divorce. And then she comes home and he
- 26:39Speaker 4: finds out about the affair. And that's where the episode
- 26:43Speaker 4: ends in episode one. He locks her out, chains the
- 26:46Speaker 4: locks on the house.
- 26:47Speaker 5: She rolls up. The snow is falling. It looks very pretty.
- 26:51Speaker 4: And he's like, hey, babe. I called your buddy and like,
- 26:56Speaker 4: I know cats out of the bag.
- 26:57Speaker 5: So you can go screw yourself. And he is like angry.
- 27:02Speaker 4: And he was like, I'm going to tell the kids
- 27:04Speaker 4: they're going to hate you to have a good life.
- 27:06Speaker 4: And that's where the episode kind of ends. And like,
- 27:10Speaker 4: I haven't been cheated on in a really long time,
- 27:12Speaker 4: but I do unfortunately know what that pain and that
- 27:14Speaker 4: betrayal feels like. And for me, I felt that coming
- 27:19Speaker 4: off of him. Like he was like bitter, resentful, angry,
- 27:23Speaker 4: and he is.
- 27:25Speaker 5: Like letting her have it. And the episode ends right there.
- 27:28Speaker 5: She kind of leaves.
- 27:30Speaker 4: And I wanted her to kind of like bust through
- 27:31Speaker 4: the door and break the glass and like come in
- 27:33Speaker 4: like a heroine, but also she's not right. She was
- 27:36Speaker 4: having an affair and, on her husband and it's just
- 27:38Speaker 4: straight chaos and I guess I'm at a season in
- 27:41Speaker 4: life where like my life is super peaceful right now
- 27:45Speaker 4: so if I can have some chaos vicariously through this
- 27:49Speaker 4: set of my television show then sign me up HBO
- 27:52Speaker 4: I'll do it.
- 27:55Speaker 2: I want to watch it now. Yeah.
- 27:56Speaker 6: You totally hooked me.
- 27:57Speaker 3: And I'm thinking, do I have any hours this weekend
- 27:59Speaker 3: where I can put into this? Cause I'm a binge watcher.
- 28:02Speaker 3: Kind of sounds a little like you. I like to
- 28:04Speaker 3: watch like five episodes. They're like, do you want next episode?
- 28:07Speaker 2: I'm like, yes.
- 28:08Speaker 1: Next episode.
- 28:08Speaker 2: Yes. Yes.
- 28:09Speaker 5: Don't call me for the next six hours. I am busy.
- 28:11Speaker 5: Do not disturb.
- 28:12Speaker 2: I think we're all like that. Netflix is all monsters.
- 28:16Speaker 6: I know, I know, but you know what?
- 28:19Speaker 3: You really can get like, kind of like, You're almost
- 28:21Speaker 3: like part of the story, like because you're watching so
- 28:24Speaker 3: many hours and I'll look at my clock.
- 28:26Speaker 6: I'm like, oh, God, it's 2 a.m.
- 28:28Speaker 5: Oh, I should brush my teeth.
- 28:30Speaker 6: I got to go to bed. This is ridiculous.
- 28:32Speaker 2: I did that last night, actually. I know that last night,
- 28:35Speaker 2: two nights ago, I got stuck watching something that is
- 28:38Speaker 2: nothing along the lines of what we're talking about called
- 28:40Speaker 2: Mayors of Mayor of Kingstown.
- 28:42Speaker 6: Oh, I've heard of it.
- 28:43Speaker 2: Is it good?
- 28:43Speaker 6: I've watched one episode, I think.
- 28:45Speaker 2: Yeah. I think it's why I couldn't even get my
- 28:48Speaker 2: thoughts together yesterday to do anything and watch anything. But yeah,
- 28:52Speaker 2: it's really good. It's got Jeremy Renner in it. And
- 28:55Speaker 2: it's based in Michigan, actually. And it's kind of crazy.
- 28:57Speaker 6: And it's like a crime thing, isn't it?
- 28:58Speaker 2: Right? Yeah. It's kind of crimey.
- 29:00Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 29:00Speaker 5: I like crimey.
- 29:02Speaker 2: Yep. I think all divorced women go through a little
- 29:04Speaker 2: true crime saga.
- 29:05Speaker 6: And it's Just imagining things were different.
- 29:08Speaker 2: Yeah, I say it all the time to Canyon whenever
- 29:10Speaker 2: we're fighting. I'm like, you know, your parents know. Your
- 29:13Speaker 2: parents know that if I go down a flight of stairs,
- 29:15Speaker 2: I didn't do it on my own.
- 29:16Speaker 6: You didn't trip.
- 29:18Speaker 5: I'm like, just put on a good trial. Like, that's
- 29:20Speaker 5: all I need. Just a good trial to watch someone.
- 29:22Speaker 6: We'll be watching Bachelor. Pushed downstairs.
- 29:25Speaker 2: It was a dark January night.
- 29:26Speaker 5: We'll side with Canyon. It's fine. We're going to side
- 29:29Speaker 5: with her anyway.
- 29:30Speaker 2: I know you guys will.
- 29:30Speaker 5: We like you a lot, but she's the great addition.
- 29:33Speaker 6: Yeah, we love your wife. So sorry, Bob, you're out.
- 29:37Speaker 2: It's so great.
- 29:38Speaker 5: How she's like always included all the events. Bob comes,
- 29:42Speaker 5: you know, because he has to be there. But like
- 29:44Speaker 5: she gets to come and we all get to like
- 29:47Speaker 5: be with her and have.
- 29:48Speaker 2: A good time. I'm the reason for the invite, but
- 29:51Speaker 2: she's the reason why we're actually there. Yeah, we know that.
- 30:02Speaker 1: All right.
- 30:04Speaker 2: We have one we share now, Joan. And this is
- 30:06Speaker 2: one I loved. Jennifer Garner, Five Star Weekend. So this
- 30:11Speaker 2: is one that I think is, I don't know. This
- 30:15Speaker 2: is one that I got all the feels watching this
- 30:18Speaker 2: one too. And I loved it because basically, long and
- 30:22Speaker 2: the short of it, it's on Peacock. Long and the
- 30:24Speaker 2: short of it is, this is one that a woman's wife,
- 30:28Speaker 2: or I'm sorry, husband dies unexpectedly. And, um, and she
- 30:32Speaker 2: decides kind of like what we were talking about earlier, Joan, with, with,
- 30:35Speaker 2: where you were at when your husband passed, you were like,
- 30:38Speaker 2: I don't want to sit here and, and go down
- 30:40Speaker 2: these rabbit holes and be depressed. Right. So she's like,
- 30:43Speaker 2: I want to have the greatest weekend ever.
- 30:45Speaker 3: Yep.
- 30:46Speaker 2: And she's become like this famous, uh, chef type of
- 30:50Speaker 2: baker and does all these awesome things. And, um, and
- 30:53Speaker 2: so like, she's making all this great food and her
- 30:55Speaker 2: friends come in and it's all these friends from different
- 30:57Speaker 2: stages of life. One in particular. who's from almost like
- 31:01Speaker 2: a fan, right? Who is very recently in her life. Yeah.
- 31:06Speaker 2: Twist that we will, we will address, but we'll, you know,
- 31:09Speaker 2: there will be spoiler alerts guys. So if you're going
- 31:11Speaker 2: to want to watch five star weekend.
- 31:13Speaker 6: If we address that theme, yes, people know you need
- 31:17Speaker 6: to go.
- 31:18Speaker 2: Yeah, we'll get there. We'll give you the la la
- 31:21Speaker 2: la hand signs, but why don't you take it away, Joe?
- 31:24Speaker 2: Tell us about this one.
- 31:25Speaker 3: So she decides to host this weekend on her own.
- 31:29Speaker 3: I think her daughter is going through some stuff. She
- 31:30Speaker 3: kind of kicks her daughter out of the house a
- 31:32Speaker 3: little bit, but her daughter keeps returning. But she is
- 31:35Speaker 3: like trying to heal. And again, like a sense of community.
- 31:38Speaker 3: So it's all about like inviting some community back in.
- 31:41Speaker 3: And for some reason, she decides that she's inviting people
- 31:44Speaker 3: from different parts of her life. So from like childhood, college,
- 31:50Speaker 3: professional life. And now this person that has been a
- 31:54Speaker 3: fan of hers online. So she does a lot of
- 31:57Speaker 3: her cooking videos online.
- 31:58Speaker 6: Maybe all of them. I think maybe she's an online person.
- 32:01Speaker 6: Like a blogger, like, yeah, yeah.
- 32:03Speaker 5: An aspiring food person like myself.
- 32:05Speaker 3: Yeah, like she's doing these beautiful, like decorating the table
- 32:09Speaker 3: kind of things.
- 32:10Speaker 6: She really is good. It's fun to watch.
- 32:12Speaker 3: And so she invites these people from the four... parts
- 32:16Speaker 3: of her life and they don't really get along very well.
- 32:18Speaker 3: They're all kind of competing to be her best friend.
- 32:21Speaker 3: And so like the high school one is nasty to
- 32:23Speaker 3: the college one and dah, dah, dah, dah. And in
- 32:26Speaker 3: the long run, she's kind of fed up with them all.
- 32:28Speaker 3: She's sick of them and they're all in different bedrooms
- 32:30Speaker 3: of the house. The house is gorgeous.
- 32:32Speaker 6: She lives, I don't know, like on long, I know like.
- 32:34Speaker 2: In the Hamptons or something. Is it Martha's Vineyard?
- 32:36Speaker 6: I was going to say Hamptons, Martha's Vineyard. She's on
- 32:38Speaker 6: a beautiful ocean on a cliff. It's gorgeous house. She
- 32:40Speaker 6: has a great life, except for she's lost his husband
- 32:42Speaker 6: that she was deeply in love with.
- 32:44Speaker 3: And that story kind of unravels. And that becomes very
- 32:48Speaker 3: interesting because they're learning that the story that she has
- 32:51Speaker 3: in her head isn't the one that really existed out
- 32:53Speaker 3: in the world. And they're kind of trying to help
- 32:57Speaker 3: her through it.
- 32:57Speaker 6: And things are just going bad. one, and they all
- 33:00Speaker 6: have their own stories. So they all have their background.
- 33:02Speaker 3: One's having marital problems with a very domineering husband who
- 33:05Speaker 3: keeps calling her and like, why aren't you answering your phone?
- 33:07Speaker 6: You know, and like mean to.
- 33:09Speaker 3: Her and she's really subservient. And now she's coming out
- 33:11Speaker 3: of her shell. She's blooming a little bit amongst this
- 33:14Speaker 3: like great community of these other women. So it just
- 33:16Speaker 3: is such, it was another one that I think I
- 33:18Speaker 3: watched eight episodes in, I think one night. I couldn't
- 33:24Speaker 3: stop watching it because The way that the story unfolds,
- 33:27Speaker 3: it unravels in a really good way that you have
- 33:30Speaker 3: to watch the next one, but you can't just leave
- 33:31Speaker 3: it there.
- 33:32Speaker 2: Okay.
- 33:32Speaker 5: Jotting this one down. Tell me the name of it again.
- 33:35Speaker 6: Five star weekend.
- 33:36Speaker 2: Yeah. It's even a good one for guys.
- 33:37Speaker 6: I mean, I want to hear that.
- 33:39Speaker 2: Yeah. You know, I, I'm one of those guys. I
- 33:41Speaker 2: love rom-coms like I'm that guy. Right. So this, this
- 33:45Speaker 2: like was one of those things that, you know, um,
- 33:47Speaker 2: I don't think they necessarily make any of these types
- 33:50Speaker 2: of shows for men specifically. I've never seen one anyway. Okay.
- 33:54Speaker 2: But it's like, I actually like this kind of stuff because,
- 33:56Speaker 2: you know, you're watching it and I love the guy who,
- 33:59Speaker 2: you know, never left the vineyard or Hamptons or wherever
- 34:02Speaker 2: it is that they're at. And he comes around to
- 34:04Speaker 2: fix things. And he's like the one that got, she
- 34:07Speaker 2: was the one that got away for him.
- 34:08Speaker 1: Right.
- 34:09Speaker 2: And so he's there and he's perfectly fine being by himself.
- 34:13Speaker 2: He doesn't, he's not like, he's not like pining for her,
- 34:16Speaker 2: but at the same time, You could tell he still
- 34:18Speaker 2: loves her and he's got this very special place in
- 34:21Speaker 2: his heart for her. And, um, you know, so you're
- 34:23Speaker 2: like watching all these relationships unfold and it's like, it's just,
- 34:27Speaker 2: it's just very, I mean, I know it's still kind of,
- 34:29Speaker 2: it's still a movie, but it's very real. Like it's
- 34:31Speaker 2: very relatable, you know, this is weird for me, but
- 34:34Speaker 2: I will tell you guys, honestly, like if you were
- 34:35Speaker 2: to tell me the, the spoiler right here, it would
- 34:38Speaker 2: not ruin it for me. And I would still watch it.
- 34:40Speaker 2: And in my mind, it doesn't ruin it for me ever,
- 34:42Speaker 2: but we won't ruin anyone. We won't, we won't do
- 34:45Speaker 2: a spoiler. But we'll just say this. There's a huge–
- 34:48Speaker 2: there are several twists. But there is a huge twist
- 34:51Speaker 2: that occurs with one of the friends that is there
- 34:54Speaker 2: for the five-star weekend. And it is definitely worth the
- 34:57Speaker 2: watch because it does catch you off guard. Like it
- 35:00Speaker 2: kind of all of a sudden you're like, what? Where
- 35:02Speaker 2: did this come from?
- 35:03Speaker 6: And you see it sneaking up throughout the episode and
- 35:05Speaker 6: then you're.
- 35:06Speaker 2: Like, oh. Yeah. You're like, this can't be true. Okay.
- 35:09Speaker 5: I'm going to watch it. You guys see you've sold me.
- 35:11Speaker 5: I will watch it. I will add it to my
- 35:12Speaker 5: list after I finish Divorce.
- 35:14Speaker 6: I want you to text us and tell us what
- 35:15Speaker 6: you think.
- 35:16Speaker 5: Okay. Okay. I'm going to watch it this weekend in
- 35:18Speaker 5: all of my free time.
- 35:19Speaker 2: You know, I'll say this too. Jennifer Garner might very
- 35:22Speaker 2: well be a younger Diane Keaton. Like Jennifer Garner plays herself.
- 35:29Speaker 1: You're right.
- 35:30Speaker 2: Doesn't she? Yeah.
- 35:32Speaker 6: Always smiling, always positive. Like, okay, we can do this.
- 35:35Speaker 6: Even when things are going down the drain, she's still
- 35:38Speaker 6: positive and we can do this.
- 35:40Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 35:40Speaker 4: She is so nice. I flew her once when I
- 35:42Speaker 4: was pregnant and she rubbed my belly. She is the
- 35:45Speaker 4: nicest person.
- 35:46Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 35:47Speaker 2: I know her. I know her through Greg Grunberg.
- 35:50Speaker 6: I'm totally jealous right now of both of you.
- 35:51Speaker 2: And she is such a sweet person and she gives
- 35:54Speaker 2: of herself to her charity. She gives of herself to
- 35:56Speaker 2: her community. I mean, you're right, Deanna. Her children.
- 35:59Speaker 5: Her children.
- 36:00Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 36:01Speaker 4: She is like the epitome of like living her best
- 36:04Speaker 4: divorce life.
- 36:05Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 36:06Speaker 3: Right.
- 36:06Speaker 5: She provides a house and a home. She don't need
- 36:08Speaker 5: no man. Sister's thriving.
- 36:10Speaker 2: But she's still there for her ex-husband when he needs her,
- 36:13Speaker 2: even though he went off to marry Jennifer Lopez for
- 36:15Speaker 2: a couple of weeks, you know? I know.
- 36:16Speaker 6: And then undo that. Done with her now.
- 36:19Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah. It's like unbelievable, but she's always still there
- 36:22Speaker 2: for him too. Like they still have a friendship. It's like,
- 36:24Speaker 2: you know, it's like the perfect, I don't know. It's
- 36:26Speaker 2: the perfect storm, I guess.
- 36:27Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 36:27Speaker 6: She's not bitter.
- 36:28Speaker 2: I was going to tell you guys. So I know
- 36:30Speaker 2: you mentioned The Notebook earlier, and I have to tell
- 36:32Speaker 2: you this story. So I had never watched The Notebook.
- 36:35Speaker 6: I have never watched it, by the way.
- 36:36Speaker 5: Don't you guys have that movie when it's on TV?
- 36:39Speaker 5: You will always watch it.
- 36:40Speaker 2: Well, I want you to know I have watched it now,
- 36:43Speaker 2: and I want to tell you how this came to pass.
- 36:45Speaker 2: So I meet Canyon, my wife, and at the time
- 36:49Speaker 2: she was living in Vegas. because she was opening, um, she,
- 36:52Speaker 2: she was the director of opening operations for this company
- 36:55Speaker 2: and they were doing, they were opening a casino, a
- 36:56Speaker 2: new casino hotel property. And so she had a condo
- 36:59Speaker 2: there and I would come in on the weekends to
- 37:01Speaker 2: see her. Right. And so I come in one weekend and, um,
- 37:05Speaker 2: and she's exhausted cause she was like up all night,
- 37:07Speaker 2: like doing other things. And she had to be there
- 37:09Speaker 2: a certain time. So, uh, She puts it on. We
- 37:14Speaker 2: lay down on her bed to watch this movie. I
- 37:16Speaker 2: don't know what movie it's going to be. She puts
- 37:18Speaker 2: it on and then falls asleep with the remote like
- 37:20Speaker 2: tucked in here. And I come to realize it's The Notebook.
- 37:24Speaker 2: And this was like a running joke with us. I'm like,
- 37:26Speaker 2: I don't, I'm never watching that stupid movie, you know.
- 37:28Speaker 2: So I start watching the movie and oh my God,
- 37:32Speaker 2: I hyperventilate. I'm crying so hard. Like my, I'm like,
- 37:36Speaker 2: I wake her up, you know?
- 37:37Speaker 6: And I am so, she's like, did someone die?
- 37:41Speaker 1: Yes.
- 37:41Speaker 2: And I'm like, yes, someone did die. I'm like, you're
- 37:45Speaker 2: a bird.
- 37:46Speaker 5: I'm a bird. Right.
- 37:47Speaker 6: Who doesn't want that?
- 37:49Speaker 2: I want to be a bird.
- 37:50Speaker 5: I want to be someone's bird.
- 37:51Speaker 1: I get it.
- 37:52Speaker 2: I totally get it.
- 37:54Speaker 4: All of those, like, toxic, but yet passionate parts of
- 37:58Speaker 4: what we dream of relationships being like, they love each other.
- 38:04Speaker 5: Endlessly to the death and like the passion and the
- 38:07Speaker 5: sex is amazing. And they're doing it in a house
- 38:10Speaker 5: with no, you know what I mean?
- 38:11Speaker 4: It's like that, that's the unhealthy version of what I
- 38:14Speaker 4: dream relationships to be like that.
- 38:16Speaker 5: You know what I mean? But I'll watch it every
- 38:18Speaker 5: single time. That's the kind of love that I want.
- 38:21Speaker 2: Like, it's a high bar, right? If you get to
- 38:23Speaker 2: that point, I think. But no, but it was just like,
- 38:25Speaker 2: I'll never forget watching that. And it's one of the
- 38:28Speaker 2: things we laugh about now is like, we were only
- 38:30Speaker 2: dating at that time. And I'm like, why would you
- 38:33Speaker 2: put this on? You know, I'm not crying.
- 38:36Speaker 6: I have something in my eye.
- 38:37Speaker 5: And then they dated in real life. They won an
- 38:41Speaker 5: MTV Movie Award. where they mimic the scene where they
- 38:44Speaker 5: kiss and it's all raining. Who does not want to
- 38:47Speaker 5: be manhandled like that in the rain? And they're making
- 38:50Speaker 5: out and they're so hot.
- 38:51Speaker 4: And then they mimicked it at the MTV, I think
- 38:54Speaker 4: it was MTV Movie Awards years ago, where she runs across.
- 38:57Speaker 5: The stage and he's so hot. You know what I mean?
- 39:00Speaker 5: He picks her up and she's got the one leg
- 39:02Speaker 5: up and they make out. It looks so dreamy. Sell
- 39:05Speaker 5: me that. I want that.
- 39:06Speaker 4: That's what I want my second portion of my life
- 39:08Speaker 4: to be like, Bob. So introduce your girl to your friends.
- 39:11Speaker 4: that's what I'm looking for.
- 39:13Speaker 2: I don't have any friends like that. I can promise
- 39:15Speaker 2: you that, but I wish I did.
- 39:17Speaker 5: That's why I have to be very careful.
- 39:18Speaker 4: The shows that are movies that I get obsessed with
- 39:21Speaker 4: because it runs me down the rabbit hole of like,
- 39:23Speaker 4: what is not realistic?
- 39:25Speaker 5: You know what I mean? Life comes in sessions and
- 39:29Speaker 5: waves and it's, it's, you know, always moving and changing
- 39:32Speaker 5: and relationships have to do that. And when you find
- 39:35Speaker 5: a good partner or companion, hopefully you're able to do
- 39:39Speaker 5: that together, but that's what life kind of teaches us, right?
- 39:41Speaker 5: No two people are the same.
- 39:44Speaker 4: And when I watch movies like The Notebook, It gives
- 39:49Speaker 4: me this unrealistic expectation of what I believe love to
- 39:53Speaker 4: be and what I think I need in my life.
- 39:55Speaker 4: And the truth of the matter is it ebbs and flows, right?
- 39:59Speaker 4: Sometimes we're not on the same page. Sometimes the sex
- 40:02Speaker 4: is not mind-blowing. Sometimes we are... tired and exhausted trying
- 40:07Speaker 4: to keep our children alive and make good humans.
- 40:09Speaker 5: You know, life is always in session.
- 40:12Speaker 4: And I have to be really careful, me personally, with
- 40:14Speaker 4: stuff like that, especially as a single woman in the
- 40:17Speaker 4: second part of my life, because then I start idolizing that.
- 40:20Speaker 4: That's what I think that relationships need to match up to.
- 40:23Speaker 3: Well, I feel like that's why you need to have
- 40:24Speaker 3: like kind of mindless movies. Like my one that I
- 40:28Speaker 3: will always watch, I have two that I will always watch.
- 40:31Speaker 6: One of them is Mrs. Doubtfire. I love that movie.
- 40:34Speaker 6: And it has like heartfelt moments and it has great
- 40:37Speaker 6: humor and has him loving his kids, but like, you know,
- 40:41Speaker 6: willing to do anything for him.
- 40:42Speaker 3: And it's just so, so, so funny. And I will
- 40:44Speaker 3: also always watch Elf. So those are my two. You
- 40:48Speaker 3: watch really good movies like The Notebook, I watch Elf.
- 40:50Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 40:51Speaker 5: Mindless humor though. Elf is like, that's a great movie.
- 40:55Speaker 2: It is.
- 40:56Speaker 4: The kids and I watch that all the time at
- 40:57Speaker 4: Christmas and then they think they're allowed to say bad words.
- 40:59Speaker 5: And I'm like, well, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.
- 41:02Speaker 2: My kids think I'm elf. They honestly think I am.
- 41:04Speaker 5: Mom, I could see that.
- 41:05Speaker 2: I could see that. I bet you do. Oh my God.
- 41:08Speaker 3: I feel like where I catch up the most on
- 41:10Speaker 3: things that I'm missing on TV is when I'm flying.
- 41:13Speaker 3: And I have a long flight because I live in Maryland,
- 41:16Speaker 3: so I go back and forth to L.A.
- 41:18Speaker 2: A lot.
- 41:19Speaker 3: And I most recently watched the entire, I think, almost
- 41:24Speaker 3: eight seasons of Shrinking.
- 41:25Speaker 6: I probably watched five of the eight seasons. Have you
- 41:28Speaker 6: guys seen Shrinking?
- 41:29Speaker 2: I love that show.
- 41:30Speaker 5: I've never seen it.
- 41:32Speaker 2: Oh, my gosh.
- 41:34Speaker 3: You have the watching of your next five weeks alone, like.
- 41:40Speaker 6: Ready for you.
- 41:41Speaker 2: You're done.
- 41:41Speaker 3: You can just write it down, program it in the
- 41:44Speaker 3: TV and just get a glass of wine.
- 41:47Speaker 6: It's so good.
- 41:48Speaker 4: But tell me a little bit, like you heard me
- 41:50Speaker 4: say I need to be like sold by like episode two, three.
- 41:54Speaker 4: So like, give me like a short synopsis of what
- 41:56Speaker 4: I'm expecting here.
- 41:57Speaker 3: Okay, it's three therapists who practice together. Harrison Ford is
- 42:02Speaker 3: the head of the practice. Anyway, one of them, who's
- 42:04Speaker 3: kind of the main character in the beginning, has lost
- 42:07Speaker 3: his wife.
- 42:07Speaker 6: She's died. And he has a daughter who.
- 42:09Speaker 3: Is angsty, very angsty. And he is very awkward around
- 42:13Speaker 3: her because she's so angsty. And they have a neighbor
- 42:16Speaker 3: that she's kind of flocked to, a woman who's kind
- 42:19Speaker 3: of like been her replacement mom.
- 42:21Speaker 6: And he also.
- 42:23Speaker 3: Harrison Ford is now dealing suddenly that he has Parkinson's
- 42:26Speaker 3: and he's becoming a little more disabled and a little
- 42:28Speaker 3: more feeble and him going through that and him finding
- 42:31Speaker 3: kind of love through his doctor. And it's just it's
- 42:36Speaker 3: just really I'm trying to describe like it's a comedy.
- 42:40Speaker 6: It's definitely funny.
- 42:42Speaker 2: It's a comedy. Yeah, it's a comedy, but it's got
- 42:45Speaker 2: a lot of heartfelt moments.
- 42:46Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 42:47Speaker 2: You know, a lot of like, yeah. I wouldn't say
- 42:50Speaker 2: it's a dramedy either because it's not really a drama,
- 42:52Speaker 2: but it is.
- 42:52Speaker 6: It's not.
- 42:53Speaker 2: It's funny. Their next door neighbors are hilarious. I love them.
- 42:57Speaker 2: Who's the woman? Who are they? I can't know.
- 42:58Speaker 6: I don't know any names of any stars ever.
- 43:01Speaker 5: Okay, well, I'll try it.
- 43:02Speaker 6: I feel like we didn't sell it well.
- 43:04Speaker 4: I just keep a running notes section in my phone.
- 43:06Speaker 4: I just need like good shows to watch. And so
- 43:09Speaker 4: I like will keep it in my notes section.
- 43:11Speaker 5: I'll give it a shot. I'll try it.
- 43:13Speaker 3: I so did not sell that well.
- 43:15Speaker 6: It's really, really good. Bob, can you redo my sales
- 43:18Speaker 6: for that one, please?
- 43:19Speaker 2: No, you were so good. I'm watching it.
- 43:22Speaker 6: It really was a... Watch one episode.
- 43:24Speaker 2: I will watch it.
- 43:25Speaker 4: I will give it a shot. I will give it
- 43:26Speaker 4: an honest shot. If you tell me you liked it
- 43:28Speaker 4: and you thought it was good, I will give it
- 43:30Speaker 4: an honest try.
- 43:31Speaker 6: I will buy you dinner if you don't like it.
- 43:33Speaker 5: Joan, I love dinner.
- 43:34Speaker 2: I love to eat. She's going to say she doesn't
- 43:37Speaker 2: like it even if she loves it.
- 43:39Speaker 6: It's a win-win for me.
- 43:40Speaker 2: Yeah, there you go. Just try it.
- 43:41Speaker 6: Okay, just try it.
- 43:52Speaker 2: Let's talk about some other great ones. You guys ready?
- 43:55Speaker 2: All right. I got a couple here. Actually, I was
- 43:57Speaker 2: going to say Mr. Mom is one of my favorites.
- 43:58Speaker 2: Do you guys remember that movie?
- 43:59Speaker 1: Oh, Bob, I love that movie.
- 44:00Speaker 6: Great movie.
- 44:01Speaker 2: So dumb. I love it.
- 44:02Speaker 6: So good.
- 44:03Speaker 2: Yeah, Michael Keaton. I use lines from it all the time.
- 44:06Speaker 2: Like I literally just said to Kanye the other day,
- 44:08Speaker 2: I'm like, babe, if you need me, I'll be at
- 44:10Speaker 2: the gym or the gun club.
- 44:11Speaker 6: All you men have these stupid one-liners. Do women do one-liners?
- 44:14Speaker 2: No.
- 44:14Speaker 5: Men don't.
- 44:15Speaker 2: No, no, no.
- 44:17Speaker 4: No, I'm bad with sayings and movie quotes and all
- 44:19Speaker 4: of the things. Do not ask me what movie it's from.
- 44:22Speaker 4: It's not going to register.
- 44:23Speaker 2: So Kiana is pretty good. She's good. I've gotten her to,
- 44:26Speaker 2: I've gotten her to like match me line for line
- 44:29Speaker 2: from like Horrible Bosses. The movie Horrible Bosses. I love
- 44:33Speaker 2: that movie. Also good, by the way. Yeah, I love it.
- 44:35Speaker 2: So ones that are about this kind of stuff, though,
- 44:37Speaker 2: we got, okay, this one came up earlier. How Stella
- 44:40Speaker 2: got her groove back.
- 44:41Speaker 5: Listen, listen, we got to have a whole sidebar right now.
- 44:44Speaker 6: How'd you get a groove back, Deanna?
- 44:45Speaker 2: Mountain, man.
- 44:46Speaker 5: That could have a sidebar.
- 44:48Speaker 6: Tell me, Bob, tell how they got the groove back.
- 44:50Speaker 2: I don't know how Stella got her groove back. I
- 44:52Speaker 2: heard it was with a mountain man. I do.
- 44:53Speaker 5: I know how Stella got her groove back.
- 44:56Speaker 6: Do you think there's a lot of validity in getting
- 44:57Speaker 6: your groove back?
- 44:58Speaker 5: I think that, well, okay, I can only speak for myself, right?
- 45:03Speaker 4: I did not ask for divorce, so I came out
- 45:05Speaker 4: of there kind of really wounded. And I walked into
- 45:09Speaker 4: marriage feeling really independent and powerful. And listen, I don't
- 45:15Speaker 4: think I'm an unattractive woman. I, you know, but like,
- 45:19Speaker 4: I think that like, I have a pretty good face.
- 45:24Speaker 4: It took me some time after divorce to want to
- 45:30Speaker 4: even be in the company of the opposite sex. I
- 45:34Speaker 4: was not I didn't have the emotional capacity to take
- 45:37Speaker 4: on another grown man who needed me to hold his
- 45:39Speaker 4: feelings and his stuff. I was just like I needed
- 45:41Speaker 4: to like just care for me for a really long time.
- 45:43Speaker 5: So it took me some time.
- 45:45Speaker 4: And I would say that when I was ready to entertain.
- 45:51Speaker 4: Someone of the opposite sex, but also not do commitment.
- 45:57Speaker 5: I'm thinking of the best way to like say this
- 45:59Speaker 5: right now.
- 46:00Speaker 2: Were you on a whitewater rafting trip perhaps? Or maybe
- 46:03Speaker 2: you were on a hiking trip?
- 46:04Speaker 5: No, I was in a mountain town for work and
- 46:06Speaker 5: we spent like four or five days and I was
- 46:09Speaker 5: at this bar and met this cute like 30 year
- 46:12Speaker 5: old woman. And I spent a few days with this
- 46:16Speaker 5: 30 year old man and I understood.
- 46:20Speaker 6: This is a standing ovation.
- 46:21Speaker 5: I understood how Stella got her groove back.
- 46:24Speaker 4: Like once I left that mountain town, I got exactly
- 46:26Speaker 4: what I needed.
- 46:27Speaker 5: He was very kind.
- 46:28Speaker 4: Thank God he didn't murder me and kidnap me and
- 46:31Speaker 4: hang up my body parts to dry out in the woods.
- 46:34Speaker 5: I was safe.
- 46:35Speaker 4: And I spent a few days with a young man
- 46:37Speaker 4: who told me I was pretty and had the most
- 46:41Speaker 4: amazing experience.
- 46:42Speaker 1: Sex.
- 46:44Speaker 4: And I left there thinking, Oh, Oh, I'm not dead inside.
- 46:50Speaker 4: I learned how Stella got her groove back.
- 46:52Speaker 2: There you go.
- 46:53Speaker 6: I love that.
- 46:54Speaker 3: I mean, really like you needed a healing moment and
- 46:58Speaker 3: you just, it just was kind of served up to
- 47:00Speaker 3: you and you, I mean, you.
- 47:01Speaker 6: Had to do it. It wasn't your fault.
- 47:03Speaker 4: I needed something at the time to just remind me
- 47:07Speaker 4: of what a powerful woman I am, right? I am attractive,
- 47:11Speaker 4: I am kind, I am loving given the right situation,
- 47:13Speaker 4: I am loyal to a fault to.
- 47:14Speaker 5: Myself, and I just needed, I just needed to get
- 47:18Speaker 5: my mojo back, you guys.
- 47:21Speaker 2: It sounds like you did.
- 47:22Speaker 5: I did. I did that.
- 47:23Speaker 2: I did.
- 47:23Speaker 5: Now I'm still single, mind you.
- 47:26Speaker 2: There's no shame in that game.
- 47:27Speaker 6: Doesn't mean you don't have your groove.
- 47:28Speaker 5: Believe me, I am not shameful in it at all.
- 47:31Speaker 5: I am living my best life. You know what?
- 47:33Speaker 4: I don't come home and no one disrupts my peace.
- 47:35Speaker 4: I don't have to do anyone else's dishes. And when
- 47:37Speaker 4: the trash needs to go out, it goes out because
- 47:38Speaker 4: I do it.
- 47:39Speaker 2: That's right. That's right. I like it. I like it
- 47:42Speaker 2: a lot.
- 47:42Speaker 6: A lot of freedom in that.
- 47:44Speaker 2: Honestly, I don't even know how we talk about anything
- 47:47Speaker 2: else other than, you know, now that we've touched on that.
- 47:49Speaker 2: Cause I, I wanted to hear about the mountain man
- 47:52Speaker 2: and we got to hear about the mountain man.
- 47:53Speaker 4: So I can see what you're doing. You're trying to
- 47:55Speaker 4: avoid Bob, what we know about you. And I'm pretty
- 47:58Speaker 4: sure you gave a few women their groove back to
- 48:01Speaker 4: in your time. So like, don't play coy on me, Bob.
- 48:04Speaker 4: Bob Guinea, do not play coy on me. I've said
- 48:06Speaker 4: it many times. I heard it when I got into
- 48:08Speaker 4: the Bachelor Mansion when I was a bachelorette. I asked everybody,
- 48:12Speaker 4: who was the most naughty? And they were like, Bob Guinea.
- 48:15Speaker 2: No, gosh, no, no.
- 48:17Speaker 5: Oh, Bob.
- 48:19Speaker 2: I am a gentleman. And although I did find it
- 48:24Speaker 2: funny to say, I may have given... a few Stella's
- 48:27Speaker 2: their groove back over the time.
- 48:29Speaker 5: Where your badge of honor, Bob, where your badge of honor.
- 48:33Speaker 2: Although I will say this, you know, guys got to
- 48:35Speaker 2: do it too.
- 48:36Speaker 5: Right.
- 48:36Speaker 2: Like, you know, I don't know what the, you know,
- 48:39Speaker 2: Stan had to get his groove back at one point too. Right.
- 48:41Speaker 2: You go through a period of time where you think you,
- 48:44Speaker 2: you know, the, the feelings are not, uh, mutually exclusive, right?
- 48:48Speaker 2: Like a guy goes through a divorce too. And he's
- 48:51Speaker 2: kind of like, well, what the hell's wrong with me?
- 48:52Speaker 2: I got to figure out what's my vibe and who
- 48:56Speaker 2: I am again. Because, you know, and I think everyone
- 48:59Speaker 2: does it, right? Like you go through that transition in
- 49:02Speaker 2: your life from whether it's losing your partner or divorce
- 49:04Speaker 2: or whatever it might be. And you get to that
- 49:06Speaker 2: point where it's like, okay, I got to figure out
- 49:08Speaker 2: who I am moving forward. And maybe, maybe I am
- 49:12Speaker 2: the dude who says, if you're a bird, I'm a bird, right?
- 49:14Speaker 2: Maybe I'm that guy. Maybe I'll, you know, I don't know.
- 49:16Speaker 2: Maybe I'm a little more elf. Maybe I'm a little more,
- 49:19Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 49:20Speaker 5: I want to be a bird. I can be a pigeon. I,
- 49:23Speaker 5: you know what I mean?
- 49:23Speaker 2: There's a lot of birds out there.
- 49:25Speaker 5: A blue jay, a blue jay.
- 49:26Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 49:27Speaker 5: I'll be a bird.
- 49:28Speaker 2: Yeah. Pterodactyl. I mean, there's a bunch of different types
- 49:31Speaker 2: of flying things.
- 49:32Speaker 5: It doesn't do my arms justice. You know what I mean?
- 49:34Speaker 5: I'm not trying to eat them afterwards.
- 49:35Speaker 2: You do have lovely, I mean, yeah, you have the
- 49:37Speaker 2: lovely wingspan.
- 49:38Speaker 5: Lovely wingspan.
- 49:43Speaker 2: Well, I hope we gave everybody listening, you know, some
- 49:47Speaker 2: good ideas as to what to do this weekend, what
- 49:49Speaker 2: to watch this weekend, what to drink in. And especially
- 49:52Speaker 2: if you've been going through some relationship stuff, you know,
- 49:54Speaker 2: there's definitely a lot of good stuff out there that
- 49:56Speaker 2: you can watch that hopefully inspires you because it definitely
- 49:59Speaker 2: inspired us to talk about it. I know. I love
- 50:02Speaker 2: both of you women so much. And I just think, Oh,
- 50:04Speaker 2: you know what? I just saw one. I think Grace
- 50:06Speaker 2: and Frankie, did you guys ever watch that one?
- 50:07Speaker 5: Oh, I love it. I did watch that.
- 50:09Speaker 6: That's a whole series too, that I could watch like
- 50:11Speaker 6: all weekend.
- 50:12Speaker 2: I loved it. Your girl, Jane Fonda right there.
- 50:15Speaker 6: I think I have a thing for Jane Fonda.
- 50:16Speaker 3: This is disturbing.
- 50:20Speaker 6: I love her. She's so good.
- 50:22Speaker 2: I know I've said this to both of you. I
- 50:23Speaker 2: know I said it to Deanna when we were together in,
- 50:26Speaker 2: in Tahoe too. It's like, you know, Divorce isn't easy,
- 50:30Speaker 2: even if you want it, right? Divorce and loss are
- 50:32Speaker 2: definitely not easy. And if you're wanting to date again,
- 50:34Speaker 2: but you don't know where to start, well, we want
- 50:36Speaker 2: to help. So send us an email, leave us a voicemail,
- 50:39Speaker 2: all the info's in the show notes. So make sure
- 50:40Speaker 2: you follow us on the socials. It's I Do Part Two,
- 50:43Speaker 2: an iHeart podcast where falling in love is the main objective. Joan, Deanna,
- 50:48Speaker 2: thank you so much for joining us. And thanks for
- 50:50Speaker 2: letting me join you, I should say, on all the
- 50:53Speaker 2: show recaps. I love you both. I don't get to
- 50:55Speaker 2: see neither one of you enough, but hopefully we'll get
- 50:58Speaker 2: to see each other soon.
- 50:59Speaker 6: I heard you used to do better.
- 51:00Speaker 2: Bye guys.
- 51:01Speaker 6: Love you guys.
- 51:01Speaker 2: Love you guys.
