- 1:03Speaker 1: Here is new Eagles offensive coator Sean Mannion two years
- 1:08Speaker 1: ago when he was introduced as the Packers quarterback coach.
- 1:14Speaker 3: Blessed throughout my playing career, you know, to get to
- 1:16Speaker 3: play for a long time. I think that's an asset
- 1:18Speaker 3: that I have in my arsenal to really supplement the
- 1:21Speaker 3: quarterback room. And then, you know, I was really lucky
- 1:24Speaker 3: throughout my playing career to cross paths with a number
- 1:26Speaker 3: of great coaches, and for me as a player, I
- 1:29Speaker 3: always knew that this would be the next step. So
- 1:31Speaker 3: I was really attacking my playing career with this kind
- 1:33Speaker 3: of in the back of my mind of soaking up
- 1:35Speaker 3: as much knowledge as I could to weaponize it for
- 1:38Speaker 3: now this new.
- 1:39Speaker 4: Role that I'm in here now.
- 1:40Speaker 1: Audio is thanks to Jeff Skavsky's YouTube page via Jeff
- 1:45Speaker 1: Mosher's article at Phillyvoice dot com. Jeff joins us right
- 1:49Speaker 1: now here on the sports bashel and nice of a
- 1:51Speaker 1: three ESPN. Jeff, It's a very interesting word man, you
- 1:55Speaker 1: used a couple of years ago about weaponizing everything he
- 2:00Speaker 1: has learned over the years.
- 2:02Speaker 4: Yeah. I like it. I mean that was a deliberate
- 2:05Speaker 4: word choice. Most people will tell you that they're just
- 2:08Speaker 4: learning and trying to soak up as much as information
- 2:12Speaker 4: as possible and apply it. But I like how he
- 2:14Speaker 4: used the word weaponize it, and I think it's pretty
- 2:18Speaker 4: appropriate given that the foundations of the offenses that he's
- 2:25Speaker 4: played under or coached under. They all they're not the same,
- 2:30Speaker 4: but a lot of them are similar in how they
- 2:33Speaker 4: are designed, and weaponizing is a good way to use
- 2:36Speaker 4: the way you think of some of these coaches who
- 2:39Speaker 4: he coached or played for.
- 2:41Speaker 1: And one of the things you highlight and people give
- 2:43Speaker 1: read the full article at Phillyvoice dot com of all
- 2:46Speaker 1: the people that he has worked with over the years.
- 2:48Speaker 1: But I think one of the interesting parts of the
- 2:51Speaker 1: list that you put out there, Jeff, because again it's
- 2:53Speaker 1: been many different people that Mannion has kind of gleaned
- 2:57Speaker 1: and gathered from from basically over a day decade, either
- 3:00Speaker 1: playing or coaching in the NFL now. But I think
- 3:03Speaker 1: two of the names that are interesting are the back
- 3:05Speaker 1: to back names of the father and son duo, Gary
- 3:10Speaker 1: and Clint Kubiak. You know, two guys you maybe don't get,
- 3:14Speaker 1: you know, looked at enough in this conversation.
- 3:16Speaker 2: Jeff.
- 3:17Speaker 1: I'm glad you highlighted them because you're talking about a
- 3:20Speaker 1: guy and Gary Kubiak a direct branch off of the
- 3:24Speaker 1: Mike Shanahan tree. And then of course Clint his son
- 3:28Speaker 1: is now got Sam Donald and the Seahawks in Super
- 3:33Speaker 1: Bowl sixty.
- 3:35Speaker 4: Yeah. I mean you talk about two a family of offensive
- 3:39Speaker 4: minds who've accomplished a lot. Gary has mentioned three Super
- 3:43Speaker 4: Bowl rings, two of the coordinator, one of the coach.
- 3:45Speaker 4: Clint might get one here on Sunday, which I expect
- 3:49Speaker 4: that he will. And I can't imagine. I don't know
- 3:52Speaker 4: how many. I suppose because of Mike and Kyle Shanahan.
- 3:55Speaker 4: I was trying to think of how many quarterbacks or
- 3:57Speaker 4: players were coached by a father and son Tombo, But like,
- 4:01Speaker 4: I don't know if anybody's in separate, Stints has done it.
- 4:06Speaker 4: You know, he was with the Vikings when Kevin Stefanski
- 4:11Speaker 4: was the offensive coordinator. That was his first year with
- 4:13Speaker 4: the Vikings and Gary Kubiak was the assistant offensive head
- 4:16Speaker 4: coach as as the head coach slash something on offense.
- 4:19Speaker 4: But and then you know, he left for Seattle, didn't
- 4:22Speaker 4: make the team, came back and then all of a
- 4:24Speaker 4: sudden clink, Kubiak is the offensive coordinator. So it was
- 4:27Speaker 4: really interesting there how he's been in under both Kubiaks.
- 4:33Speaker 4: Two are not necessarily the same. I mean I think
- 4:36Speaker 4: that was one of the things that going through writing
- 4:38Speaker 4: the story about the mcveay, Shanahan Kubiak tree is how
- 4:44Speaker 4: different similarly structured, but how they get there differently now,
- 4:49Speaker 4: especially McVeigh who's really adapted his offense a lot from
- 4:53Speaker 4: when he first became the Rams head coach. And then
- 4:56Speaker 4: you look at Kyle Shanahan, whose offense has adapted from
- 5:00Speaker 4: Mike Shanahans, but it itself has really remained the same
- 5:04Speaker 4: for as long as he's been the forty nine Ers
- 5:06Speaker 4: head coach.
- 5:08Speaker 1: When you look at you just mentioned, you know, all
- 5:11Speaker 1: the there's all these slight variations. So then what is
- 5:15Speaker 1: obviously we can't fully predict this, but like, what do
- 5:17Speaker 1: you think the variation might be for a former quarterback doing.
- 5:23Speaker 2: One of the systems, because one of these people might
- 5:24Speaker 2: not remember, is you know.
- 5:26Speaker 1: Kyle Shannon's a former wide receiver, he never actually played
- 5:29Speaker 1: quarterback at any major levels, whereas a guy like Gary
- 5:33Speaker 1: Kubac was john always backup as a quarterback. So is
- 5:38Speaker 1: there maybe maybe a and I'm maybe I'm I'm really
- 5:41Speaker 1: strip on here, but maybe is there maybe a more
- 5:43Speaker 1: fluid connection between Gary Kubiak and a guy like Sean
- 5:48Speaker 1: Mannion versus maybe some of the other coaches.
- 5:51Speaker 4: Well, I mean, Kellen Moore was a quarterback, so if
- 5:54Speaker 4: we're if we're looking for that kind of reason to
- 5:58Speaker 4: if we're wondering with Sean what his impact as a
- 6:01Speaker 4: quarterback will be on the offense. And you hear him talk,
- 6:05Speaker 4: you know, he's really big on and this is something
- 6:07Speaker 4: that of course not only Gary Kubiak and Clinton and Shannan,
- 6:11Speaker 4: although really good offensive minds are all about is your
- 6:14Speaker 4: timing and your footwork, and then secondarily to that, from
- 6:18Speaker 4: a play calling standpoint, making sure that there's the right
- 6:21Speaker 4: kind of marriage between your run game and your pass
- 6:24Speaker 4: game based on your timing and your footwork so that
- 6:26Speaker 4: everything makes sense, so that when you're taking say your
- 6:29Speaker 4: third step and a drop, that is exactly the same
- 6:32Speaker 4: time that a receiver is making the correct break, so
- 6:36Speaker 4: that you can throw a ball in a window where
- 6:38Speaker 4: that receiver is supposed to be as opposed to waiting
- 6:41Speaker 4: for him to get open. That's all supposed to have
- 6:43Speaker 4: the right type of timing and rhythm to it. As
- 6:46Speaker 4: the tenant, right, the basic tenant of a Bill Walsh offense,
- 6:51Speaker 4: or that Paul Brown and Bill Walsh, that trickle down
- 6:54Speaker 4: to Mike Homegrin, to Andy Reid, to Mike Shanahan, all
- 6:57Speaker 4: the people that we speak of today that run some
- 6:59Speaker 4: kind of veryation of the West Coast offense. So I
- 7:02Speaker 4: would I would say, like, that's really what you're looking for,
- 7:05Speaker 4: that to be brought to the Eagles with Sean Mannion.
- 7:09Speaker 4: But that's a kind of a wait and see because,
- 7:11Speaker 4: as I mentioned in a different story, you know, Kellen
- 7:14Speaker 4: Moore came in here and tried to bring concepts to
- 7:17Speaker 4: the offense that he didn't blend with both the Eagles
- 7:20Speaker 4: were doing, but you hoped would and didn't really in
- 7:22Speaker 4: the end, and the Super Bowl kind of covered it up.
- 7:25Speaker 4: But the pass offense wasn't in decline outside of the
- 7:29Speaker 4: you know, the breakout in the Conference championship in Super Bowl.
- 7:33Speaker 1: Talking with Jeff Motion from the Inside of the BIRS
- 7:35Speaker 1: podcast Inside the BIRS dot Com also Phillyvoice dot Com
- 7:39Speaker 1: his latest article about the influences of new Eagles offensive
- 7:42Speaker 1: coordinator Sean Mannion. Jeff, we know that Mannion is very
- 7:48Speaker 1: highly regarded by you know, guys like Nick Foles. Thinks
- 7:51Speaker 1: he's extremely bright, and a lot of good things to
- 7:53Speaker 1: say about him on his season podcast. But coming off
- 7:58Speaker 1: of the Kevin Batulo one year era, what is a
- 8:02Speaker 1: realistic expectation for a galie Sean Manu, Because you know, Jeff,
- 8:06Speaker 1: you heard the comments many of us heard people are
- 8:09Speaker 1: fans saying anyone's better than this guy at Patula. Well,
- 8:13Speaker 1: Sean Manum fits into the category of anyone.
- 8:17Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean, I really don't know what to expect.
- 8:19Speaker 4: And you keep hearing comparisons and Kellen Moore comes up.
- 8:23Speaker 4: And Kellen Moore is a guy who before he got
- 8:25Speaker 4: to the Eagles, obviously, you know, was a quarterback in
- 8:28Speaker 4: the NFL for a few years, retired immediately, like literally immediately,
- 8:32Speaker 4: I believe, became the quarterbacks coach of the Cowboys. That's
- 8:36Speaker 4: big swing right there, to not even making like a
- 8:38Speaker 4: quality control and it's unconventional. And then a year later
- 8:41Speaker 4: he is a play calling offensive coordinator for the Cowboys
- 8:44Speaker 4: and they have the number one offense. So there's a
- 8:48Speaker 4: precedent by a person who played that position the way
- 8:52Speaker 4: Manion did back up, learned under different you know, his
- 8:55Speaker 4: influence with Scott Scott Linehan right, different kind of offense,
- 9:00Speaker 4: but he obviously clearly took what he learned and applied
- 9:02Speaker 4: it immediately and had success. I actually wrote a story
- 9:05Speaker 4: for Philly Voice today, Josh that looked at the last
- 9:08Speaker 4: five or six Eagles offensive play callers who did it
- 9:11Speaker 4: for the first time and what level of success that
- 9:15Speaker 4: they had. And it's a mixed bag. And very few
- 9:18Speaker 4: of them, by the way, are a whit manion, and
- 9:20Speaker 4: that they just came straight from literally retiring as a player.
- 9:24Speaker 4: You know, it's just not a path you're ordinarily going
- 9:26Speaker 4: to see. But we obviously know what happened at Patulo.
- 9:30Speaker 4: You know, Brian Johnson in retrospect, there's two ways to
- 9:33Speaker 4: look at it. He actually finished with the top ten offense.
- 9:35Speaker 4: And you know, if you go look at the where
- 9:37Speaker 4: the Eagles offense ranked under Brian Johnson, you would have said, man,
- 9:41Speaker 4: if he was the play caller this year, they would
- 9:43Speaker 4: have won the Super Bowl, even if he's not great,
- 9:45Speaker 4: because he was with without even think Klon Barkley, able
- 9:48Speaker 4: to produce a functional offense that did well in categories.
- 9:52Speaker 4: But then you do look at the implosion in the
- 9:53Speaker 4: one and seven or one in six stretch. There they
- 9:56Speaker 4: scored less than twenty points about five times seven games,
- 10:00Speaker 4: so they were clearly on a decline, and it's understandable.
- 10:04Speaker 4: You go back to Doug Peterson. Tug Peterson never called
- 10:07Speaker 4: plays until they became head coach of the Eagles, and
- 10:10Speaker 4: he also didn't have a ton of coaching experience under
- 10:12Speaker 4: Andy Reid as well. You know, quarterbacks coach, offensive coordinator
- 10:16Speaker 4: who didn't call out plays for a few years, did
- 10:18Speaker 4: a good job in year one, but then really started
- 10:21Speaker 4: to hit his decline. I'm sorry. Year one was decent.
- 10:24Speaker 4: Year two they win a Super Bowl, was great, and
- 10:26Speaker 4: then a decline in each of the last three years.
- 10:27Speaker 4: And the same thing happened to him in Jacksonville, where
- 10:30Speaker 4: that first year he had a top seve offense and
- 10:32Speaker 4: then declined client So what it showed me was that
- 10:35Speaker 4: Doug was not a bad terrible play caller, but he
- 10:38Speaker 4: was unable to counter punch to the adjustments made to
- 10:41Speaker 4: his success. Chip Kelly was a great play caller in
- 10:44Speaker 4: college and had two top five offenses in his first
- 10:48Speaker 4: few years with the Eagles, but he also inherited Leshan
- 10:51Speaker 4: McCoy to de Shawn Jackson, Jerry Macklin, Michael Vig, Nick Foss,
- 10:54Speaker 4: so it was almost unfair to judge him and if
- 10:56Speaker 4: he actually go through his first year or two, man,
- 10:59Speaker 4: did they get fat off some really bad teams scoring
- 11:02Speaker 4: forty at fifty points? There were a lot of twenty
- 11:04Speaker 4: to twenty five point games or lower in his first
- 11:08Speaker 4: two years, And then of course we saw what he
- 11:09Speaker 4: did in s Everything's going then this year as Las Vegas.
- 11:13Speaker 4: So it's a mixed bag. The one thing I think
- 11:15Speaker 4: I gleaned from it, Josh, is that some of these
- 11:17Speaker 4: guys like Andy Reid, first time play caller after seventeen
- 11:20Speaker 4: years of coaching, gets hired by the Eagles, right, first
- 11:23Speaker 4: time play caller, first year, I think the thirtieth frank
- 11:27Speaker 4: confidence because they didn't have that much offensive firepower, but
- 11:31Speaker 4: then he emerged into one of the elite play callers
- 11:33Speaker 4: in the league. How much will Sean Manion be given
- 11:38Speaker 4: an opportunity to go through maybe some first year struggles
- 11:42Speaker 4: that ordinarily you would expect from somebody, and then be
- 11:45Speaker 4: able to stick around if things go haywire next year.
- 11:48Speaker 4: I think that's the big question. And clearly it got
- 11:50Speaker 4: the best of Brian Johnson. He didn't get a chance
- 11:53Speaker 4: to improve upon what was not a disastrous first year,
- 11:57Speaker 4: just not a good one. So that's where you're left
- 12:00Speaker 4: wondering about the future of the franchise. If if twenty
- 12:03Speaker 4: twenty six isn't so good, what does that mean for.
- 12:05Speaker 1: Mannin if I get backtrack something you brought about about
- 12:08Speaker 1: Doug Peterson, I think one of the parts that gets
- 12:11Speaker 1: overlooked at times as well, what the Doug Peterson era was.
- 12:15Speaker 1: There were differences, Jeff for the Eagles between when Doug
- 12:20Speaker 1: had Frank Reich and when he didn't have Frank Reich.
- 12:23Speaker 1: And it wasn't all bad without Frank, but there were
- 12:25Speaker 1: some obvious things.
- 12:26Speaker 2: So could we maybe look at the hiring of.
- 12:30Speaker 1: Josh Gizard being maybe a bit to Sean Manning what
- 12:34Speaker 1: Frank Reich was to Doug Peterson.
- 12:37Speaker 4: Yeah, and I don't want to discount I know at
- 12:39Speaker 4: ITV we might be considered having a little bit of bias,
- 12:42Speaker 4: but I think it's it's fair and deserve. But can
- 12:45Speaker 4: also discount John p. Filippo his impact on the offense
- 12:48Speaker 4: and the coaching of Carson Wentz those first two years
- 12:51Speaker 4: because when he left, along with Frank right leaving, that's
- 12:56Speaker 4: when the offense really started to hit the Skins. And
- 12:58Speaker 4: we know that both Frank and de Filippo John were
- 13:02Speaker 4: involved in situational offense. One of them did third down
- 13:05Speaker 4: theers at red doone. I forget offhand which one was
- 13:07Speaker 4: in charge of which. But the Eagles were very good
- 13:09Speaker 4: situationally underdog for the first two years there. So those
- 13:13Speaker 4: were two big losses. And then so to relay that
- 13:17Speaker 4: to this with having Joskar Zard, Yeah, I think you're
- 13:20Speaker 4: asking if if it sort of helps to have that
- 13:22Speaker 4: second experience play caller, slash court pass name coordinator in
- 13:28Speaker 4: manu ins fact pocket.
- 13:31Speaker 2: Yeah, you know, having another guy in his ear.
- 13:33Speaker 1: I think one of the problems, at least my perception was,
- 13:37Speaker 1: you know, when you have a guy like Petullo, m
- 13:40Speaker 1: the most experienced guy on the staff was what Scott.
- 13:43Speaker 4: Leffler right right, There was nobody there to be able
- 13:48Speaker 4: to give a life preserver to Patullo. That is absolutely fair.
- 13:51Speaker 4: Nick tried to help, he said it, he said, I
- 13:54Speaker 4: was more involved with the offense, and the offense continued
- 13:57Speaker 4: to stink. So that's all you need to know about that.
- 14:00Speaker 4: I do think Grizzard will obviously be helpful, and what
- 14:04Speaker 4: I think it means most though, Josh is the team's
- 14:07Speaker 4: commitment to implementing a kind of offense that we haven't
- 14:12Speaker 4: seen here because obviously Bizarre coached under both Mike McDaniel
- 14:16Speaker 4: and Liam Cohen. So you're talking about the Shanahan Tree
- 14:20Speaker 4: and McVeigh tree, and we're sitting here talking about the
- 14:23Speaker 4: same thing about Sean Manyon, who is from the quote
- 14:27Speaker 4: unquote Kukak Shanahan Tree and McVeigh tree right. So to me,
- 14:31Speaker 4: by bringing him in, you're not just giving him an
- 14:33Speaker 4: experienced play caller slash offensive mind, but someone who sees
- 14:39Speaker 4: the game similarly and these offensive concepts similarly to the
- 14:43Speaker 4: way that Mannion does. So that that help. That's helpful
- 14:47Speaker 4: when you're trying to put together an offense and put
- 14:49Speaker 4: together your situational packages. You're third down here, fourth down,
- 14:52Speaker 4: your red zone and everything that these two guys are
- 14:55Speaker 4: very likely to be on the same page because they
- 14:57Speaker 4: have similar backgrounds and want to do similar things. I
- 15:01Speaker 4: would say we've seen the results of this the other way,
- 15:06Speaker 4: Like when you have Sewan Desai and Matt Patrician, two
- 15:09Speaker 4: guys in two different backgrounds trying to come together and
- 15:12Speaker 4: put a defense together, that went to you know what,
- 15:15Speaker 4: and then one had to go over to the other
- 15:16Speaker 4: and they were unfamiliar with each other schemes and it
- 15:19Speaker 4: was a total disaster.
- 15:20Speaker 1: And I think that brings us to the other part
- 15:22Speaker 1: of this conversation with Jeff most from the Inside the
- 15:24Speaker 1: Bird podcasts Inside the Bird dot com like subscribe Della
- 15:27Speaker 1: over get your podcasts or pubscribe to them on YouTube
- 15:30Speaker 1: is which I do. Also Philly Voice dot com Jeff
- 15:33Speaker 1: Mosher's latest article with all the coaches that you listed
- 15:37Speaker 1: management influenced by and knowing you know some about Mannion
- 15:40Speaker 1: as we do. Now, what do you think this ultimately
- 15:45Speaker 1: means when it comes to communicating with the quarterback Jillen
- 15:49Speaker 1: Hurts Because we have seen certain coaches, Jeff, they have
- 15:53Speaker 1: been able, like Lincoln Riley at Oklahoma, Shane Steichen in
- 15:57Speaker 1: twenty twenty two. Some of these coaches have really gotten
- 16:00Speaker 1: some good things out of Jillen Hurts, while others not
- 16:03Speaker 1: so much.
- 16:05Speaker 4: Yeah, I think it's a good question. And also I'm
- 16:08Speaker 4: very interested to see if there are other moves on
- 16:11Speaker 4: the Eagles offensive staff to bring in more people that
- 16:16Speaker 4: you know, I have no idea what will happen to
- 16:17Speaker 4: Scott Offler. Will see if he keeps a job or not,
- 16:20Speaker 4: or maybe if there's like an assistant quarterbacks coach who's
- 16:23Speaker 4: a little bit more from that tree where the timing
- 16:27Speaker 4: and the anticipation throws are all within sync of the
- 16:30Speaker 4: footwork that you're taught and the drops that you're taking.
- 16:34Speaker 4: So I do think it's important to have that. And yeah,
- 16:36Speaker 4: we're we're going to see if this style of coaching
- 16:39Speaker 4: and the style of offense blends with what Jale Hurts
- 16:44Speaker 4: can do. We know he hasn't done it before because
- 16:47Speaker 4: he hasn't been asked to play in the style of offense.
- 16:49Speaker 4: I never put a lid on anybody. I love the
- 16:51Speaker 4: opportunity to see it, and I'll believe that Jale Hurts
- 16:54Speaker 4: will have the capacites to it until proven otherwise. So
- 16:58Speaker 4: it's one kind of one of the things in twenty
- 16:59Speaker 4: twenty's I think most of us observers are really interested
- 17:02Speaker 4: in finding out.
- 17:04Speaker 1: Oh, I'm very fascinated because again, you look through all
- 17:07Speaker 1: the voices that have been it hurts his ear over
- 17:09Speaker 1: the years, and it's apparent that he has responded to
- 17:13Speaker 1: certain guys better than others, and frankly, you know, I
- 17:17Speaker 1: look at a guy like Jillen Hurts, I don't think
- 17:19Speaker 1: he's this like obstinate, stubborn SOB who's like, you know.
- 17:23Speaker 2: I only give this one Like, I don't think he's
- 17:25Speaker 2: that guy necessarily.
- 17:27Speaker 1: I do think he might have some elements to his
- 17:30Speaker 1: personality that are not very relatable, and maybe it's hard
- 17:33Speaker 1: to connect with a guy like that. But I don't
- 17:35Speaker 1: think that he's like walking around the building till everybody
- 17:37Speaker 1: go f off all the time.
- 17:39Speaker 4: No, but I'm to your point on that. I'm not
- 17:42Speaker 4: sure because I do remember him once in a press
- 17:45Speaker 4: conference and you can't you know, words or words, but
- 17:48Speaker 4: somebody asked him about the construct of the offense, I
- 17:51Speaker 4: think in the middle of the year, how it's gonna look,
- 17:53Speaker 4: and he said, like, the offense is going to look
- 17:55Speaker 4: the way I want it to look, Okay, And that
- 17:57Speaker 4: can be interpreted a whole lot of different ways, including
- 18:00Speaker 4: the way you were saying you don't think he should
- 18:02Speaker 4: be viewed as I think that that gave you evidence
- 18:05Speaker 4: to say maybe he should be viewed as that kind
- 18:08Speaker 4: of guy who's going to run the office where he
- 18:10Speaker 4: wants to, not the way somebody tells him that they
- 18:12Speaker 4: want it to be run. So but I don't know.
- 18:14Speaker 4: I don't want to take one quote from a press
- 18:16Speaker 4: conference set to me, it's a very clear quote and
- 18:19Speaker 4: in context, but I don't want to overexaggerate it because
- 18:21Speaker 4: a lot of things are said. That's why I'm using
- 18:23Speaker 4: this upcoming year as sort of a the litmus test
- 18:26Speaker 4: to say.
- 18:28Speaker 1: Yeah, and to that point about this upcoming year, Jeff,
- 18:30Speaker 1: I think that's where we can we can start winding
- 18:33Speaker 1: this down, which is, you know, with a guy like Manion,
- 18:37Speaker 1: you know, maybe he can have a conversation with Hurtz
- 18:41Speaker 1: that maybe you know, Petullo couldn't, you know, or maybe
- 18:44Speaker 1: like a Brian Johnson couldn't where maybe Johnson's like I've
- 18:47Speaker 1: known this guy since he.
- 18:48Speaker 2: Was a kid. Maybe Petullo's like, everybody likes me in
- 18:50Speaker 2: the building.
- 18:51Speaker 1: I don't want to be the bad guy, you know,
- 18:52Speaker 1: and where whereas you know, maybe Manion could be the
- 18:55Speaker 1: outsider coming in and you know, be the kind of
- 18:58Speaker 1: guy who walks in and he'd just be like, hey, guys,
- 19:02Speaker 1: you know, we're gonna we're gonna clean some stuff up
- 19:04Speaker 1: here because I've been watching you from the outside.
- 19:06Speaker 2: I'm a new set of eyes here.
- 19:08Speaker 1: And maybe that's where this team needs, is just a
- 19:10Speaker 1: guy who is not the same old person in the building.
- 19:14Speaker 4: It's possible, Josh. It's possible that it's the right person
- 19:17Speaker 4: in the right time too. You know, it's maybe a
- 19:20Speaker 4: couple of years ago with Kellen who probably wanted to
- 19:23Speaker 4: do some more things offensively that didn't happen. It's possibly
- 19:26Speaker 4: you could think that Jalen Hurts was, you know, coming
- 19:29Speaker 4: off of an implosure. But I still won eleven games
- 19:34Speaker 4: that year and the year before they were in the
- 19:35Speaker 4: super Bowl, and he played great, and he just wasn't
- 19:38Speaker 4: ready at that time to think that wholesale changes were needed.
- 19:41Speaker 4: But now, even after winning the Super Bowl in twenty
- 19:44Speaker 4: twenty four and struggling with a pass offensive then the
- 19:47Speaker 4: way it was here in twenty twenty five, maybe it's
- 19:49Speaker 4: the right time and the right place, the right person
- 19:52Speaker 4: with manion relatability to convince Hill and that wholesale changes
- 19:57Speaker 4: really are necessary and that it always does start with
- 20:00Speaker 4: the quarterback.
- 20:03Speaker 1: Absolutely, He's Jeff Most got his full article of all
