- 2:55Speaker 3: the side, when they drop the caesar, you can take
- 2:57Speaker 3: the creutons and put it in the sauce around the
- 3:01Speaker 3: World Famous meatball, which they make in house homemade.
- 3:05Speaker 1: It's delicious. Now they've got a smoke tomate abysk that's ridiculous.
- 3:09Speaker 1: And you can also get your Caesar Caesar on the side.
- 3:13Speaker 1: Creutons come out, drop them in the smoke to Bata bisk.
- 3:20Speaker 1: I'm giving you all the secrets. I don't know what
- 3:22Speaker 1: else to do. Compair it with the Tito's Espresso martini.
- 3:26Speaker 1: You're popping easy. Okay. It's a beautiful bar. They're about
- 3:30Speaker 1: to open. They're outside area, which there will be nothing
- 3:35Speaker 1: like it in the state of Mississippi. We have some
- 3:37Speaker 1: beautiful places, great spots. They're basically building another restaurant outside
- 3:43Speaker 1: of Taste right beside it temperature control. I walked through
- 3:49Speaker 1: it the other day. It's incredible. When they open that
- 3:52Speaker 1: bad boy, it doesn't matter if it's one hundred and
- 3:54Speaker 1: five degrees out or fifteen degrees. You can hang out
- 3:59Speaker 1: in there, have your beverage of choice and some amazing food.
- 4:05Speaker 1: It tastes Italian kitchen and ridgelin. But you can see it.
- 4:08Speaker 1: I mean, it's like a whole nother structure right in
- 4:11Speaker 1: between Taste, in the in the jewelry store. It's gonna
- 4:14Speaker 1: be great. It'll be great to watch games. It's gonna
- 4:17Speaker 1: be great to go on a date. It's gonna be
- 4:19Speaker 1: great to beat friends when they open it up. It's
- 4:22Speaker 1: gonna be awesome. And you can do what Jackson's doing,
- 4:24Speaker 1: inviting his family there to enjoy wood fired pizzas at
- 4:27Speaker 1: taste and fried ravioli and some shrimp scampy.
- 4:31Speaker 3: Yeah, God, I'm hungry. Huh what is it? Lobsta, Yeah,
- 4:38Speaker 3: lobster Risotta. That's the best thing ever.
- 4:41Speaker 1: Yeah, it's fantastic. I'm a big Rosotta fans. We have
- 4:46Speaker 1: a listener here that's ranking the Oxford area restaurants on
- 4:51Speaker 1: the Dancing Rabbit Golf text line. All right, so we've
- 4:53Speaker 1: got excellent, No, that's not on there. He's got every
- 4:59Speaker 1: Day Volta, Proud Dairies. I've been there, Handy Andyes, I've
- 5:07Speaker 1: been there, Upscale bou Ray, I've been there, the Velvet Ditch.
- 5:13Speaker 1: I've been there, but only for a drink. And Saint
- 5:16Speaker 1: Louis Leo and I've been there. So miscellaneous did not
- 5:20Speaker 1: make it. The sip didn't make it. You know. Of course,
- 5:25Speaker 1: City Grocery, I mean Current started this whole thing and
- 5:28Speaker 1: so on. So uh, all right, but yeah, I mean,
- 5:30Speaker 1: everybody's got their own thing, and that's great. I love
- 5:33Speaker 1: to hear your food recommendations as you travel, and let's go,
- 5:41Speaker 1: so that's why you travel, that's right. Oh man. We
- 5:45Speaker 1: had some we had some fun, good food in Louisville, Kentucky,
- 5:51Speaker 1: and we were able to break bread with with good
- 5:54Speaker 1: people and fun people and it was great, just a
- 5:59Speaker 1: I wish I would remember where we went. We went
- 6:02Speaker 1: to Chickencock Distillery, but then we went across the street
- 6:05Speaker 1: to eat a late lunch and it was really good.
- 6:10Speaker 1: I can't remember the name of it. I'll have to
- 6:13Speaker 1: text the crew that I was with. Fantastic though, I mean,
- 6:18Speaker 1: we had just a it was like a shared plates
- 6:22Speaker 1: deal really what we did the whole time, and we
- 6:25Speaker 1: just ordered a bunch of stuff that hit the table.
- 6:27Speaker 1: People grabbed a little bit of it and passed the
- 6:29Speaker 1: plate around, which is my kind of deal. Blake would
- 6:32Speaker 1: have thrown a fit. I love Blake, but Blake got
- 6:36Speaker 1: so if y'all remember several years ago we got in,
- 6:38Speaker 1: I mean he got really feisty with me. That'd be
- 6:41Speaker 1: Blake Scott, not Blake Shaping and Blake Shapan's from Louisiana,
- 6:44Speaker 1: even though he played at Baylor and then at Misissippi State.
- 6:47Speaker 1: I said that he was from Texas earlier. But Blake
- 6:49Speaker 1: Scott former producer, He's in the Hall of Fame of
- 6:53Speaker 1: the Out of Bound show. Blake Scott got upset with
- 6:58Speaker 1: me because I talked about how much fun it is
- 7:01Speaker 1: to get like a a tomahawk at a restaurant and
- 7:06Speaker 1: just a lot of times the kitchen will will slice
- 7:09Speaker 1: it up. So you say, hey, I want to own
- 7:11Speaker 1: a medium rare tomahawk, and I want you to drop
- 7:15Speaker 1: it in the middle, slice it and people can just grab.
- 7:18Speaker 1: And I mean, he was defiant, I have to have
- 7:21Speaker 1: my own steak. I'm like, dude, I get that. Do
- 7:25Speaker 1: you know how many unbelievable meals I've had where we
- 7:28Speaker 1: were like, all right, let's order the ribbi, the strip
- 7:31Speaker 1: and the filet, have them slice them up and you
- 7:34Speaker 1: can just you know, grab, that's fun. Yeah.
- 7:39Speaker 3: His reluctancy there is going to be rooted in something though,
- 7:43Speaker 3: like he went to.
- 7:44Speaker 1: Eat prior as if something has something happened, he didn't.
- 7:48Speaker 1: He didn't think he got enough on the shareable kind
- 7:52Speaker 1: of let's say you put it on almost like a
- 7:54Speaker 1: wood charcouterie board. But you've got your sliced up ribbi,
- 7:59Speaker 1: you're sliced up. Maybe you got a porterhouse whatever. But
- 8:01Speaker 1: let's say you got a little bit of rib, a
- 8:03Speaker 1: little bit of strip, a little bit of flay, flank steak.
- 8:07Speaker 1: I don't care. Whatever's happening, combination, maybe rack a lamb.
- 8:12Speaker 1: Something happened and he didn't feel like he got enough.
- 8:15Speaker 3: He got cheated, Yeah, slided, whatever you want to go with. Yeah,
- 8:19Speaker 3: something happened, so I guarantee it. Okay, he was huffing
- 8:24Speaker 3: and puffing over there when I said no, it is
- 8:27Speaker 3: fun to be at a at a table and you
- 8:30Speaker 3: order a tomb I mean, you order more.
- 8:31Speaker 1: Stuff, but you start with a last year taste. For
- 8:35Speaker 1: the Texas game, did a Tomahawk special. I was with
- 8:39Speaker 1: the Bocock Brothers Bocock Brothers Premium Cigars, which they just
- 8:43Speaker 1: posted all these pictures of the Dak Prescott cigar that
- 8:47Speaker 1: they do. If you want to order one Bocock Brothers
- 8:49Speaker 1: dot com and you promo code bounced ten. They came.
- 8:53Speaker 1: They flew in from Houston for the Texas Game. We
- 8:56Speaker 1: started off with the Tomahawk steak sliced up it taste
- 9:01Speaker 1: and it was fantastic, but we ordered other things. People
- 9:04Speaker 1: were ordering trimp scampy and blah blah blah and whatever.
- 9:08Speaker 1: That dude got red and upset with I mean, he
- 9:12Speaker 1: was over there steward. They don't want anybody reaching it
- 9:14Speaker 1: his plate. I think, is that a Mississippi Is that
- 9:18Speaker 1: a Mississippi guy thing? I don't know. We shared plates.
- 9:24Speaker 1: I think shared plates is one of the most fun
- 9:27Speaker 1: things to do, which at Jesus and the Disciples believed
- 9:30Speaker 1: in it. It's why I think I've loved it since
- 9:35Speaker 1: dining in New Orleans in nineteen eighty, eighty one and
- 9:38Speaker 1: eighty two as a kid, because of Jesus and the Disciples. Yes, yes,
- 9:42Speaker 1: all right, we are the out of Bound show ESPN.
- 9:45Speaker 1: One oh five nine of the Zone. I don't want
- 10:57Speaker 1: to hear all that chit chat stuff out of Bound ESPN.

- 11:56Speaker 1: I did not see this, so you knew about this
- 12:00Speaker 1: Charles Barkley thing. I'd heard it a couple of years ago,
- 12:04Speaker 1: but I didn't do any kind of deep dive on it.
- 12:08Speaker 1: Here's what's different about Charles Barkley. He's one of the
- 12:11Speaker 1: most famous people in America. Yes, and totally approachable. You
- 12:16Speaker 1: have heard story after story of Charles Barkley being at
- 12:19Speaker 1: a bar in a restaurant, and he is open. I
- 12:24Speaker 1: think he just realizes how blessed he is. You know,
- 12:28Speaker 1: to be great at basketball. I think you can make
- 12:33Speaker 1: a strong argument top ten, top fifteen player of the world,
- 12:36Speaker 1: but definitely top fifteen, top twenty in the history of basketball.
- 12:40Speaker 1: And again he was over like so many he was
- 12:44Speaker 1: overshadowed because of MJ. But Barkley, the fact that he's
- 12:50Speaker 1: approachable to be that famous and doesn't take himself that seriously.
- 12:54Speaker 1: You hear time and time again in Atlanta, at Auburn
- 12:58Speaker 1: and all the other in the country that they travel,
- 13:02Speaker 1: whether it's through his job or just the celebrity golf
- 13:05Speaker 1: tournaments that he plays in where people come up to
- 13:08Speaker 1: him and he'll engage and have a conversation. And you've
- 13:12Speaker 1: had I mean, he's in the one percent. And then
- 13:15Speaker 1: you have people that will not let you, you know,
- 13:17Speaker 1: approach them whatsoever, that aren't even close to I mean,
- 13:20Speaker 1: they may be famous and popular however you want to
- 13:24Speaker 1: frame it up, but not in the one percent, and
- 13:31Speaker 1: they don't let you. Now, you don't want to impede
- 13:34Speaker 1: on Like if they're at a table, right, it's different
- 13:37Speaker 1: in being at the bar, being on a golf course,
- 13:40Speaker 1: you know, being in a hotel lobby. There's places to
- 13:44Speaker 1: approach these people, as some of you know and some
- 13:46Speaker 1: of you don't. But like if they're at a table
- 13:49Speaker 1: dining in a restaurant, he's with four people, you stay away.
- 13:54Speaker 1: But if he's at a restaurant and Barkley loves premium
- 13:59Speaker 1: boutique tequila, for example, and he's there and he's chewing
- 14:05Speaker 1: the fat with the bartender you kind of do a
- 14:08Speaker 1: soft approach. He has done it a million times. He'll
- 14:11Speaker 1: visit with you. Yes, he loves talking. Auburn loves talking
- 14:14Speaker 1: hoops loves talking golf. And this is crazy this story.
- 14:22Speaker 1: Charles Barkley's closest friend for the last years of his
- 14:24Speaker 1: life was a cat litter scientist from Iowa. Not a joke,
- 14:31Speaker 1: not a bit, and almost no one knew until after
- 14:37Speaker 1: the man died. Correct in twenty fourteen. Charles Barkley is
- 14:41Speaker 1: sitting alone at a hotel bar in Sacramento. The bar
- 14:45Speaker 1: is empty except for one other person, and that person
- 14:48Speaker 1: is Lin Wang, a Chinese immigrant on a business trip.
- 14:51Speaker 1: He's the director of research and development at a pet
- 14:56Speaker 1: products company in Iowa. He's roughly five foot six, so
- 15:01Speaker 1: obviously very imposing. Basketball fan Lynn walks up to the
- 15:05Speaker 1: six foot six Hall of Famer to say hello and
- 15:07Speaker 1: ask for a photo. That's the whole meet a photo request,
- 15:12Speaker 1: except they start talking and they don't stop, and the
- 15:17Speaker 1: conversation turns into a two hour dinner and then they
- 15:21Speaker 1: go back to the bar and talk for another couple hours.
- 15:26Speaker 1: They exchanged numbers. Barkley is known to do this. He
- 15:29Speaker 1: is known to give people like you and I his
- 15:33Speaker 1: number left and right. For the next four years, they
- 15:36Speaker 1: were actually friends, not celebrity friends, real ones. Yes, they
- 15:40Speaker 1: met up when they were in the same city watch
- 15:42Speaker 1: games together. Barkley brought them onto the set of Inside
- 15:46Speaker 1: the NBA. You're obviously those clips where this cat litter
- 15:50Speaker 1: chemist from I was just hanging out with Shaq and
- 15:52Speaker 1: Kenny and Ernie and some dude named Charles Barkley the
- 15:55Speaker 1: round mound to rebound those guys. Lynn's co workers didn't
- 16:00Speaker 1: believe him. They thought he was making it up, and
- 16:04Speaker 1: they teased him about his imaginary friend Charles Barkley. His
- 16:10Speaker 1: own daughter didn't fully believe it either. When she finally
- 16:13Speaker 1: asked her dad about it, he showed her his text
- 16:16Speaker 1: thread from Barkley and she noticed the conversation looked pretty
- 16:20Speaker 1: one sided. Then in twenty fifteen, Barkley's mother died in Leeds, Alabama,
- 16:26Speaker 1: and Lyn Wang flew from Eyele to Alabama for the
- 16:28Speaker 1: funeral of a woman he had never met to stand
- 16:31Speaker 1: with his friend, and Barkley's family had no idea who
- 16:35Speaker 1: he was, and Barkley Charles Barkley remembers and I quote,
- 16:41Speaker 1: who's the Asian dude over there, and his answer was
- 16:44Speaker 1: that's my boy Lynn. Then a year later, Lynn was
- 16:48Speaker 1: diagnosed with cancer tumors in his heart and died in
- 16:51Speaker 1: He died in June of twenty eighteen, at fifty one
- 16:54Speaker 1: years old. His funeral was in Isle of the day
- 16:57Speaker 1: after the NBA Finals ended and bark was working the
- 17:00Speaker 1: finals in Cleveland. He got on a plane anyway, and
- 17:05Speaker 1: his daughter's Shirley, Lynn's daughter was standing in the room
- 17:10Speaker 1: when her friend's face changed. She turned around, standing there
- 17:12Speaker 1: soaked in sweat from the Iowa summer, towering over everyone
- 17:17Speaker 1: in the room with Charles Barkley. Nothing had nobody had
- 17:22Speaker 1: told them he was coming. So he gave the eulogy,
- 17:25Speaker 1: his words about a man he met by accident at
- 17:28Speaker 1: an empty bar, hotel bar, and I quote Barkley, he
- 17:33Speaker 1: was a selfless man. He really cared about other people.
- 17:39Speaker 1: And Lynn had had explained his side of it to
- 17:42Speaker 1: his daughter too. He admired that Barkley came from a
- 17:45Speaker 1: hard childhood and earned respect through his hard work as
- 17:49Speaker 1: an immigrant. He took it as proof as of something
- 17:53Speaker 1: I quote, as long as I do a good job,
- 17:55Speaker 1: people will respect me. So that's a pretty cool story. Really,
- 18:01Speaker 1: it's cool. And that's from I just read this from
- 18:06Speaker 1: the sports on tape, so that was Those were the quotes.
- 18:12Speaker 1: Charles Barkley played at Auburn and as y'all know, for
- 18:16Speaker 1: the seventy six ers and Rockets and maybe someone else
- 18:20Speaker 1: but me. And he was also on the ninety two
- 18:25Speaker 1: Barcelona Olympic team with Jordan's Magic Bird, Ewing, Stockton Malone
- 18:35Speaker 1: and all those guys of college boys.
- 18:40Speaker 3: Well and then warm Mouth the next day, right right right,
- 18:44Speaker 3: right right right.
- 18:45Speaker 1: So so the legend has it. At least the legend hasn't.
- 18:48Speaker 1: According to the late Chuck Dailey, who won two World
- 18:51Speaker 1: championships with the Detroit Pistons, was that one day prior
- 18:55Speaker 1: to going to Barcelona, they locked the doors in the gym.
- 18:59Speaker 1: They weren't in somewhere fancy. I don't remember where they
- 19:01Speaker 1: were training. They trained in Portland, but maybe in Mexico too.
- 19:03Speaker 1: I can't remember why they would have been there, but anyway,
- 19:06Speaker 1: they were somewhere and they locked the doors and they
- 19:10Speaker 1: went five the best five against the best vibe and
- 19:13Speaker 1: Chuck Dalley would say for years it was absolutely, without
- 19:18Speaker 1: a doubt, the best basketball game I've ever watched or
- 19:24Speaker 1: witnessed in my life. That was the Stars. That's right,
- 19:28Speaker 1: didn't They had the college and evidently Barkley and Jordan
- 19:31Speaker 1: got after it, and people claim during that time that
- 19:36Speaker 1: Barkley was within a whisker of Jordan as a player.
- 19:41Speaker 1: In nineteen ninety two, we're live in the Bank Plus Studio.
- 19:47Speaker 2: Right McDonalds assist us.

- 23:51Speaker 4: I appreciate the compliment, but no, Bill Snyder absolutely ruined
- 23:54Speaker 4: my childhood and subsequently my fandom for the rest of
- 23:57Speaker 4: my life. Moved to New Manhattan, Kansas in ninety three
- 24:02Speaker 4: when k State football got to go to their first,
- 24:04Speaker 4: well second bowl game, but the first of my lifetime.
- 24:07Speaker 4: And yeah, the expectations couldn't be higher. Always thank you
- 24:11Speaker 4: Bill for making sure that nine wins is the floor.
- 24:16Speaker 1: That guy was incredible. I mean, he went to arguably
- 24:20Speaker 1: the worst football program in America and then all y'all
- 24:24Speaker 1: did was win for like fifteen years or maybe a
- 24:26Speaker 1: little bit more, and.
- 24:28Speaker 4: It's actually crazy. He does not get as much credit.
- 24:31Speaker 4: Yeah that he should. I know what we just saw
- 24:34Speaker 4: coach Signetti do last year and last couple of years
- 24:36Speaker 4: there in Indiana has been.
- 24:37Speaker 5: Nothing short of incredible as well.
- 24:39Speaker 4: But I do think we laugh about some of these
- 24:42Speaker 4: teams playing cupcakes, and that's what Bill did in the nineties.
- 24:45Speaker 4: That's all they did is play cupcakes those first few games,
- 24:48Speaker 4: work out the kinks, figure out who your starters were,
- 24:50Speaker 4: and get you ready for at the time Big eight
- 24:53Speaker 4: play and then of course Big twelve later.
- 24:56Speaker 1: On Hall of Famer. Great coach. I'm trying thing, who's
- 25:00Speaker 1: your favorite player from that time from.
- 25:02Speaker 4: Kho oh Jared Cooper hands down. We just had this
- 25:05Speaker 4: conversation the other day, me and someother K State fans.
- 25:08Speaker 4: He was a strong safety in the late nineties early
- 25:12Speaker 4: two thousands, and he was an absolute utter madman. He
- 25:15Speaker 4: was always all over the field. He was always the
- 25:18Speaker 4: guy getting the crowd hypes. He was just a bulldozer.
- 25:21Speaker 4: He went on to win a Super Bowl actually with
- 25:22Speaker 4: the Carolina Panthers.
- 25:23Speaker 1: Nice Okay, Kelly and Vegas on the Out of Bound
- 25:27Speaker 1: Show ESPN one oh five nine, The Zone, Splash Sports
- 25:31Speaker 1: and football season is here? Good time to have Kelly on.
- 25:35Speaker 1: She went to SEC Media Days? Were you you were
- 25:38Speaker 1: at SEC Media Days? Yeah? Yeah, okay, So Lane, you
- 25:42Speaker 1: know we've got Ole, miss and Mississippi State here and
- 25:45Speaker 1: our border schools, Kelly, are LSU and Bama. You know,
- 25:49Speaker 1: you can be in Tuscaloosa or Baton Rouge in two
- 25:53Speaker 1: and a half hours. And so now Lane jumpship and
- 25:56Speaker 1: goes to Baton Rouge. What, in your opinion, how did
- 26:00Speaker 1: Lane do at SEC Media Days? Considering he's a media
- 26:05Speaker 1: hound and anything he says, we all freak out, you know,
- 26:09Speaker 1: And that's what I wanted.
- 26:10Speaker 5: I told I was there with my best friend Ariel.
- 26:12Speaker 4: There was a couple of things in the works that
- 26:15Speaker 4: we already had prior commitments when we decided, hey, we
- 26:17Speaker 4: should also just cruise up the road to Tampa and
- 26:20Speaker 4: go to SEC Media Days.
- 26:21Speaker 5: And I told her, I said, we have to be
- 26:24Speaker 5: there for Lane.
- 26:25Speaker 4: And whoever did the scheduling did a great job because
- 26:27Speaker 4: they said, all right, you want everybody to stay all week,
- 26:29Speaker 4: you got to make Lane on Thursday. And so there
- 26:33Speaker 4: I am like waiting, waiting, waiting, come on, Lane, let's
- 26:36Speaker 4: hear it.
- 26:36Speaker 5: And he was on a very short leash.
- 26:38Speaker 4: I think someone has not only basically said stay off
- 26:42Speaker 4: social media, but you better be on your best behavior.
- 26:44Speaker 4: So from that standpoint, I was a little disappointed, but
- 26:47Speaker 4: of course, per usual, Lane said all the right things right,
- 26:50Speaker 4: He's got his team ready. The expectations could not be
- 26:53Speaker 4: higher there in Paton rouge, and I think that's a
- 26:56Speaker 4: detriment unfortunately for certain teams.
- 26:58Speaker 2: Right.
- 26:59Speaker 4: I mentioned Bill Snyder earlier and what my expectations are.
- 27:01Speaker 4: My expectations as a Kansas State fan are never national championships.
- 27:05Speaker 4: If you're an LSU fan, it is national championship or bus.
- 27:09Speaker 1: No doubt, no doubt. Kelly Stewart on the Out of
- 27:13Speaker 1: Bounds Show Splash Sports. Okay, let's talk about this. You're
- 27:17Speaker 1: hosting a two hundred thousand dollars college football survivor contest
- 27:23Speaker 1: on Splash Sports. Walk me through it, Kelly.
- 27:25Speaker 4: Yeah, this is our third year doing it. This was
- 27:27Speaker 4: something different. I lived in Vegas for a very long time.
- 27:31Speaker 4: NFL survivor contests started to get really big out there.
- 27:34Speaker 4: I think we've all probably played in them with our
- 27:36Speaker 4: buddies back in the day, whether it was office football
- 27:38Speaker 4: pool or one of those sites well, the Splash guys
- 27:40Speaker 4: bought all of those sites up and said, hey, we're
- 27:42Speaker 4: gonna put everything in one spot. I don't know if
- 27:44Speaker 4: you've ever forgotten to put in a pick. It is
- 27:47Speaker 4: the most excruciatingly painful thing you could ever do to yourself,
- 27:51Speaker 4: especially when you're later on into the season. But now
- 27:54Speaker 4: with everything in one spot, it sends you an email
- 27:56Speaker 4: and says, hey, you are missing an injury, so get
- 27:58Speaker 4: on it.
- 27:59Speaker 5: But we did. I think we did fifty.
- 28:01Speaker 4: Thousand the first year, one hundred thousand last year. This year,
- 28:03Speaker 4: Splash and I are guaranteeing two hundred thousand dollars. But
- 28:07Speaker 4: we made it a little bit harder because the past
- 28:09Speaker 4: few seasons we had people tie and I don't want ties.
- 28:12Speaker 4: I want someone to get a take home that whole prize.
- 28:15Speaker 4: So we're doing Big twelve, Big ten. In sec we
- 28:19Speaker 4: had to kick out the acc because they're not any
- 28:21Speaker 4: good anyway, I digress on that note. But you're picking
- 28:25Speaker 4: two teams per week, Okay, it gets a little spicy there.
- 28:29Speaker 4: Week six looks a little tough. Week twelve is always
- 28:31Speaker 4: a little tough. So keep in mind there as you're
- 28:34Speaker 4: mapping out your season and That's the other thing about
- 28:36Speaker 4: splash You can map out your entire season ahead of time.
- 28:39Speaker 4: Go through on the app or the website, and you
- 28:42Speaker 4: can map out the entire season hundred bucks to enter.
- 28:44Speaker 4: You can have up to sixty six entries, which is great.
- 28:47Speaker 4: So if you want to have multiple entries and map
- 28:50Speaker 4: out different strategies, I think that's the way to go.
- 28:54Speaker 4: I'll probably have five or six myself, depending on how
- 28:57Speaker 4: full this gets. You know, we got what four weeks
- 29:01Speaker 4: ish a little bit till college football season starts September fifth,
- 29:04Speaker 4: so exactly, actually a month from today is when this
- 29:07Speaker 4: contest is going to close.
- 29:09Speaker 1: All right, this is cool. Kelly Stewart on the show
- 29:12Speaker 1: Splash Sports. They've got the app she just mentioned. I
- 29:14Speaker 1: think that's the easy way to do this, and she's
- 29:18Speaker 1: hosting a two hundred thousand dollars college football survivor contest
- 29:23Speaker 1: on Splash Sports. They've been doing it, They've upped it
- 29:26Speaker 1: fifty hundred now two hundred k. She doesn't want Eby
- 29:29Speaker 1: to tie. She wants somebody to go home with the
- 29:31Speaker 1: two Hundai, all right, And that way you can have
- 29:34Speaker 1: a big time over Christmas holidays in the new year. Also,
- 29:38Speaker 1: you've You've got the biggest NFL survivor contest ever on
- 29:44Speaker 1: splash Sports in the app A ready, guys are this
- 29:48Speaker 1: is crazy?
- 29:48Speaker 5: Crazy? These guys are crazy. I know the owners of
- 29:51Speaker 5: splash up and with them.
- 29:53Speaker 4: This will be my fourth football season with these guys.
- 29:56Speaker 4: And when we first met, we met her my eighties
- 29:59Speaker 4: and hey, are you gonna make these They got a
- 30:00Speaker 4: really interesting concept here and I'm thinking, okay, but it's
- 30:03Speaker 4: never going to match up to Vegas. Well guess what
- 30:05Speaker 4: here we are. This is now the largest one in
- 30:08Speaker 4: the country, probably the world. Twenty one million dollars is guaranteed,
- 30:12Speaker 4: so even if the contest does not fill up, they're
- 30:15Speaker 4: putting up the money.
- 30:16Speaker 5: And what they've really.
- 30:17Speaker 4: Started to figure out is that instead of having a
- 30:20Speaker 4: fly to Vegas, get a hotel room, hire a proxy,
- 30:23Speaker 4: do all these other things that there are people in
- 30:25Speaker 4: other states that just don't have that ability. So thirty
- 30:28Speaker 4: five states right now they are legal in you can.
- 30:30Speaker 4: Also a new thing that they're having for this contest
- 30:34Speaker 4: and others is you can split your entry with your buddies.
- 30:36Speaker 4: So they're doing a new marketplace they just launched the day.
- 30:39Speaker 4: I don't have all of the details fully on that,
- 30:42Speaker 4: but head over a splashboarts dot com you guys can
- 30:43Speaker 4: check that out. So you know, I got a buddy
- 30:45Speaker 4: in DC who wants to do one of these entries
- 30:47Speaker 4: with me. Perfect I go and I pay my half,
- 30:49Speaker 4: He goes in and pays his half, and now we
- 30:51Speaker 4: are each joint owners. So you know, kind of one
- 30:54Speaker 4: of those things in Vegas when I had a proxy service,
- 30:57Speaker 4: you know, people are like, how do I split this.
- 30:58Speaker 5: With my buddy?
- 30:58Speaker 4: I'm like, you better have a good lawyer and they
- 31:00Speaker 4: better write you up some airtight stuff because only one
- 31:03Speaker 4: person is allowed to own the entry. And when you're
- 31:06Speaker 4: going in for a thousand bucks and you make it
- 31:08Speaker 4: in late, you're gonna want to be able to profit
- 31:11Speaker 4: off that, whether it's hedging at a sportsbook or nice
- 31:14Speaker 4: new thing about splash as a marketplace, so you will
- 31:17Speaker 4: actually be able to sell your entry to possible prospective buyers.
- 31:21Speaker 1: How about that? Kelly Stewart, splash sports dot Com and
- 31:24Speaker 1: the Splash Sports app joining us on the at a
- 31:27Speaker 1: bound show ESPN one oh five None The Zone brought
- 31:31Speaker 1: to you by award winning Dancing Rabbit Golf Club. Okay, Kelly,
- 31:37Speaker 1: how how did you get into the business.
- 31:41Speaker 4: This question is always so funny to me because I
- 31:43Speaker 4: think I've always been a gambler of my entire life.
- 31:47Speaker 4: And again, you complimented me at the beginning. But I
- 31:50Speaker 4: graduated college in two thousand and seven, so I did
- 31:54Speaker 4: not have a job really readily available. There's a couple
- 31:56Speaker 4: of internships that I had gotten, and I thought, oh
- 31:59Speaker 4: my god, how am I gonna a job? All my
- 32:00Speaker 4: friends are getting fired right before the two thousand and
- 32:03Speaker 4: eight recession, and I told my dad.
- 32:05Speaker 5: I was like, Hey, I think I'm gonna move to Vegas.
- 32:07Speaker 4: A couple of my girlfriends are moving out there, and
- 32:09Speaker 4: He's like, uh, okay.
- 32:11Speaker 5: Go ahead. And the gambling just really took off from there.
- 32:15Speaker 4: I had some buddies that were always really impressed with
- 32:18Speaker 4: my sports knowledge, at least as far as the Big
- 32:20Speaker 4: twelve goes in Kansas State, and they said, well, why
- 32:23Speaker 4: don't you try to apply this to gambling.
- 32:25Speaker 5: You're living out in Vegas at the time.
- 32:26Speaker 4: Vegas is the only place you could bet on sports,
- 32:29Speaker 4: and it really started to blossom from there. I hit
- 32:31Speaker 4: a eighty five to one parlay and twenty thirteven, and yeah,
- 32:35Speaker 4: my phone started ringing off the hook and how'd you
- 32:37Speaker 4: do this? Did your dad help you? Did your boyfriend
- 32:39Speaker 4: help you? And I was like, no, I've been watching
- 32:41Speaker 4: these teams and these are these were some really like basically,
- 32:45Speaker 4: I'm looking for underdogs every single week that I think
- 32:47Speaker 4: and went out right six, seven, eight, nine, ten point underdogs,
- 32:50Speaker 4: and I like to just parlay them together for a
- 32:54Speaker 4: little cherry on top. Right, I'm betting them against the spread,
- 32:56Speaker 4: I'm betting them on the money line. But that parlay
- 32:59Speaker 4: is just an extra fun if I happened to go
- 33:01Speaker 4: three and ozero and it really blossomed my career in
- 33:04Speaker 4: to being able to do tons of media things and
- 33:07Speaker 4: stuff like that. And here we are thirteen years later.
- 33:10Speaker 4: It's crazy that I get to do this for a
- 33:12Speaker 4: living and it's not hard work, especially if I can
- 33:15Speaker 4: get my good friend Claude to help me out on some.
- 33:17Speaker 1: Of the model You damn right, We're on Claude all
- 33:19Speaker 1: the time, Kelly Stewart splash sports dot com. They are
- 33:23Speaker 1: ready for college football and the NFL. She joins us
- 33:26Speaker 1: on ESPN one oh five non the Zone. What an
- 33:29Speaker 1: incredible story. You hit a parlay eighty five to one.
- 33:32Speaker 1: The phone starts ringing and no pun intendage. She parlays
- 33:35Speaker 1: it into a hell of a career. Are you still
- 33:38Speaker 1: in Vegas or did you move out?
- 33:40Speaker 5: So I did move to Florida.
- 33:42Speaker 4: Twenty twenty was kind of rough out there for me,
- 33:44Speaker 4: and I said, you know what, And actually it's funny.
- 33:46Speaker 4: Mississippi was one of the states on my list, and
- 33:49Speaker 4: I was like, all right, who's getting sports gambling next?
- 33:51Speaker 4: Where can I go? And at the time, you guys
- 33:53Speaker 4: were talking about getting rid of state taxes. So I
- 33:56Speaker 4: was like, all right, we got Tennessee, we got South Dakota,
- 33:59Speaker 4: we got mississipp Who got Florida? And my family and
- 34:02Speaker 4: I decided, hey, you know what, Florida is it?
- 34:05Speaker 5: So we are down here just south of Tampa, love
- 34:07Speaker 5: and life.
- 34:08Speaker 1: Yeah, okay, So, Kansas State, do you have an adopted
- 34:13Speaker 1: you're a case state alone. Do you have an adopted
- 34:18Speaker 1: SEC team?
- 34:20Speaker 4: Right out side of Gainesville? And so I got them
- 34:23Speaker 4: a little little piece of land out there. We've been
- 34:25Speaker 4: to several Gators games. I just can't do it. I
- 34:28Speaker 4: can't be a Florida Gators fan.
- 34:30Speaker 5: I don't. I tried.
- 34:32Speaker 4: I thought, all right, this is gonna be a fun team.
- 34:34Speaker 4: Last year, I thought they were going to be better
- 34:35Speaker 4: than they were. I had USF plus the points. They
- 34:37Speaker 4: were never supposed to lose that game, and I go,
- 34:40Speaker 4: I can't do it. I don't want to be a
- 34:42Speaker 4: fan of any team. I want to be able to
- 34:44Speaker 4: bet on and bet against. I will say, however, when
- 34:48Speaker 4: k State played in Starkville, what was that? Well, over
- 34:52Speaker 4: a decade ago, we went down there, had a great time.
- 34:55Speaker 4: Old miss going to Oxford is on my bucket list
- 34:57Speaker 4: as well as Baton Rouge. But otherwise I'd almost every
- 35:01Speaker 4: other SEC team, at least the ones in Texas because
- 35:04Speaker 4: they used to be in the Big twelve. So as
- 35:06Speaker 4: long as one of them is not it, even though
- 35:08Speaker 4: I did bet Oklahoma to win the SEC this year,
- 35:12Speaker 4: as long as one of them is in a team
- 35:14Speaker 4: on my fan list, we'll call it good.
- 35:17Speaker 1: Okay, So you you went to the Mississippi statecase state game.
- 35:20Speaker 1: I think it was twenty nineteen roughly, No, it was
- 35:23Speaker 1: before that.
- 35:24Speaker 4: There was it was in it was when was it?
- 35:27Speaker 4: Because have you guys played in Manhattan?
- 35:30Speaker 1: Yeah? My producer went, Yeah, he went up to Manhattan
- 35:33Speaker 1: for the game.
- 35:34Speaker 5: Yeah, and it was in Starkville. I want to say
- 35:37Speaker 5: when Dak was the quarterback.
- 35:39Speaker 1: But I okay, wrong, Okay, I'm glad you went. You
- 35:42Speaker 1: had a good time.
- 35:43Speaker 5: Yeah, great college town.
- 35:44Speaker 4: I'm a big I love going to different college towns
- 35:47Speaker 4: and experience in it. Uh somehow still in my soul,
- 35:50Speaker 4: I am in college. So it's just one of those
- 35:52Speaker 4: fun things to go experience. Like I said, I've heard
- 35:56Speaker 4: great things about Oxford, I've heard great things about other plays.
- 35:58Speaker 5: I've been to Athens.
- 36:00Speaker 1: I thought that.
- 36:02Speaker 5: I thought it was a cool town. Gainesville I don't love,
- 36:05Speaker 5: like I mentioned. I don't know why.
- 36:06Speaker 4: I feel like there's just a lot going on over
- 36:08Speaker 4: there in this like weird area. But they have a
- 36:10Speaker 4: great stadium. Highly recommend going to see a game there
- 36:13Speaker 4: as well.
- 36:14Speaker 1: Have you been to Auburn So I.
- 36:16Speaker 4: Haven't been to Auburn. If you do, remember Auburn did
- 36:19Speaker 4: go to Manhattan, Kansas. I want to say twenty fourteen
- 36:24Speaker 4: sounds about right.
- 36:25Speaker 5: Seven and a half point favorites.
- 36:27Speaker 4: K State misses like three field goals, Tyler Lockett drops.
- 36:31Speaker 5: Two passes in the end zone.
- 36:33Speaker 4: Ill it was awful. The sec chance still haunt me today.
- 36:37Speaker 4: But I think Auburn must have.
- 36:40Speaker 5: Gotten rid of whoever their coach was at the time.
- 36:43Speaker 4: I think it was before Malason, okay, and if I
- 36:46Speaker 4: remember correctly, and then he canceled the game that would
- 36:49Speaker 4: have been.
- 36:49Speaker 1: In Auburn, Okay, all right. Kelly Stewart splash sports dot
- 36:54Speaker 1: Com on the Out of Bound show, she's now an
- 36:57Speaker 1: SEC country. I mean South Florida, Yeah, and I mean
- 37:03Speaker 1: hell SEC Media Days was in Tampa, and of course
- 37:06Speaker 1: we've got Florida in Gainesville. So Darren Sproles played at
- 37:11Speaker 1: k State, right he did? And Michael Bishop, yes, you
- 37:16Speaker 1: mentioned Lockhart. Yeah, Sprowl's is one of my favorite players.
- 37:20Speaker 5: Ever, how can he not be?
- 37:22Speaker 1: I know, I mean what Saints Eagles? There may be
- 37:26Speaker 1: another team. I'm Chargers Chargers, Yes, yes, man, I loved
- 37:31Speaker 1: watching that that guy play. I did not realize Tyler Lockett,
- 37:35Speaker 1: who all he did was catch deep balls for the
- 37:37Speaker 1: Seattle Seahawks. I didn't realize he played.
- 37:41Speaker 4: His dad and uncle both played at KY State as well.
- 37:44Speaker 4: And he's got a little brother on the team.
- 37:45Speaker 1: Right now, are you serious? That is two more?
- 37:48Speaker 4: There's two more Locketts that I'm like, please, can we
- 37:51Speaker 4: get another just just one of the twins, to be
- 37:55Speaker 4: just another version of Tyler. Tyler, Tyler was great. I
- 37:59Speaker 4: didn't mean to bash him on the drop balls versus Auburn.
- 38:02Speaker 4: They weren't probably exactly the best passes, but get you
- 38:04Speaker 4: get the idea with some of those those games where
- 38:07Speaker 4: you had it buy you know, your fingertips and it
- 38:09Speaker 4: slips away.
- 38:10Speaker 1: Okay, all right, Kelly and Vegas, Kelly Stewart, Splash sports
- 38:16Speaker 1: dot Com. You need to download the app. Okay, get in.
- 38:19Speaker 1: I mean, look these She's right, Uh people, get into

- 38:27Speaker 1: football and the NFL. Get your mind right, get on
- 38:30Speaker 1: called or wherever chat and get rolling and get ready
- 38:34Speaker 1: for the year. Okay, did I miss any thing? Did
- 38:38Speaker 1: we cover everything that we needed to hit? Kelly in Vegas?
- 38:42Speaker 5: I think so.
- 38:43Speaker 4: Splash Sports dot Com Backslash Kelly in Vegas.
- 38:45Speaker 5: If you guys, go to sign up. Okay, appreciate you both.

- 39:18Speaker 1: There's no question you will double down a record twenty
- 39:21Speaker 1: one million in guaranteed prizes. That was good.
- 39:25Speaker 3: Yeah, man, if you I can't, I can't believe well,
- 39:28Speaker 3: I can't believe it. Michael Beasley graduated way so they

- 40:01Speaker 1: he paired up with Phil Jackson at the Bulls. Whoa,
- 40:03Speaker 1: he was there for a long time. What was he
- 40:06Speaker 1: there from like eighty eight to ninety eight.
- 40:08Speaker 3: Assistant from forty seven to fifty one, and then he
- 40:12Speaker 3: was the head coach at fifty three to sixty eight.
- 40:14Speaker 1: You're talking about k State, Yeah, so I was talking
- 40:16Speaker 1: about the So how long how long was he with
- 40:20Speaker 1: the Bulls, which with okay, fifteen years and then did
- 40:25Speaker 1: he join Phil with the Lakers Kobe and check that's correct,

- 40:31Speaker 1: then imagine he was out. He's out. Yeah he left
- 40:35Speaker 1: four What an unfreaking believable career. Tex Winner, the triangle offense,
- 40:46Speaker 1: the zen stuff. He and Phil Jackson were the perfect
- 40:51Speaker 1: Batman and Robin, just like MJ and Scottie Pippen. And
- 40:55Speaker 1: his name is Techs and his name's tech He sounds
- 40:58Speaker 1: like he should be a football coach, yes, but yet
- 41:01Speaker 1: he was brilliant on the basketball side. It was about
- 41:04Speaker 1: to be. He wasn't he was going to be a
- 41:06Speaker 1: Navy man. Oh well back then, hell yeah you were.
- 41:09Speaker 1: And it was it was mandatory. Oh yes, right at
- 41:12Speaker 1: that age. And then he ended up playing the ball

- 41:19Speaker 3: He ended he went to K State as an assistant
- 41:21Speaker 3: coach right after he graduated from USC.

- 41:31Speaker 1: Southern k He graduated Souther Cal.
- 41:33Speaker 3: He was there for a year. Interesting, I claim him
- 41:36Speaker 3: as k state for sure. Yeah, he was a pole vaulter.
- 41:41Speaker 1: Niceault, the guy that I met in Kentucky that I
- 41:44Speaker 1: told you about, the couple that hung out with us,
- 41:46Speaker 1: that knows the taste crew real. Well. You know, he's
- 41:49Speaker 1: been a long time coach. I told you that. Now
- 41:51Speaker 1: he's in administration, successful football coach up there and now
- 41:56Speaker 1: admin he's coaches pull Vault the in the spring and
- 42:03Speaker 1: he loves it. Yeah, He's like, I can't let it.
- 42:06Speaker 1: And then they just brought him in as like he
- 42:09Speaker 1: had not coached in a while and they brought him
- 42:14Speaker 1: in as like associate head coach this year. Of course
- 42:19Speaker 1: He's like, I did, but I didn't and now I'm
- 42:22Speaker 1: in it and I'm like, yeah, but once it's here,
- 42:24Speaker 1: you'll love it. He said, no doubt, you love being
- 42:26Speaker 1: around the kids. But anyway, you know what we got
- 42:32Speaker 1: into conversation. He and I were on one end of
- 42:34Speaker 1: the table during one of the long dinners that we
- 42:36Speaker 1: had big dinners every night Thursday, Friday, Saturday, well at
- 42:41Speaker 1: Jack Fries in Louisville, Kentucky. On Saturday night, he and
- 42:46Speaker 1: I were on that end of the table and he
- 42:49Speaker 1: said something that was very reminiscent of kind of what
- 42:53Speaker 1: Mike Leach said to me years ago. We were and
- 42:56Speaker 1: now he's from the admin side, and I was talking
- 42:59Speaker 1: about going for it all the time and all that,
- 43:02Speaker 1: and he said, well, what I don't understand is, yeah,
- 43:04Speaker 1: if you're on the plus side of the fifty and
- 43:06Speaker 1: it's doable, why not. But he said, why wouldn't you
- 43:09Speaker 1: punt and let tenth graders or sixteen year olds make
- 43:13Speaker 1: mistakes at trying to go eighty or ninety yards? And
- 43:17Speaker 1: I thought, damn, you just simplified that. But for somebody
- 43:21Speaker 1: that's been as successful as you have, you just nailed it.
- 43:24Speaker 1: We are the Out of Bounds Show ESPN one oh
