- 0:23chickens. Hey everybody.
- 0:28Good morning from the chicken coop.
- 0:30So I want to give you a thought about how creativity helps and
- 0:36how ideas are such a gift to us. You know, theoretically
- 0:41scientists don't even understand how ideas come into our head.
- 0:44I've Heard lots of different theories on it, there's nothing
- 0:47definitive. I've Heard lots of different
- 0:49speculations on it, nothing definitive, I've had lots of
- 0:53discussions with spiritual people about it, with pastors
- 0:58about it. You know, where do ideas come
- 1:00Come from. Well, me personally, I will tell
- 1:03you, I think ideas. Well, you know, I'm a big.
- 1:06Proponent of everything is energy.
- 1:09There isn't anything out there? That's not energy.
- 1:11Everything is energy, trees rocks.
- 1:15They just are at a different energy than we are at and our
- 1:18inability to grasp and speak their language does not mean
- 1:22it's not energy. So, ideas are the same thing.
- 1:26And for me, I really truly believe that an idea is
- 1:30something That is alive. I think it comes into our head
- 1:34and it's meant for us to make manifest of the idea that comes
- 1:38in. You know, we often discount
- 1:42ideas, we go down this road and say well it was a stupid idea,
- 1:47maybe it was, maybe it wasn't, but if you don't give it a shot
- 1:50or you don't start to think about it or you don't start to
- 1:52cultivate it. How will you ever know if it's a
- 1:54legitimate idea? Or it's just you being harsh on
- 1:57yourself and so many of us are so willing to just Move on, but
- 2:02you got to remember the guy who made the Eskimo Pie, it was just
- 2:05ice cream and chocolate, and he dipped it in and he made a
- 2:07fortune with it. And there are millions of others
- 2:11examples like that, and it doesn't matter.
- 2:14Simple things. I mean, think about people,
- 2:17that, you know, Colonel Sanders Fried Chicken, right?
- 2:19Turned it into an Empire and sometimes it's recognizing
- 2:24somebody else's idea, you know, McDonald's for what it's worth,
- 2:28was not created by Roy. A Croc.
- 2:31He had the idea to turn it into the franchise that it is and the
- 2:34business. But it was originally by two
- 2:36other guys who had this idea for burgers and most people didn't
- 2:39think that it would ever work. So in this type of realization,
- 2:46when you start to really pay attention to your ideas, what do
- 2:49you do when you have a whole flood of them?
- 2:51Like I am constantly flooded by creativity.
- 2:54It's just, I always say it's my gift and my curse because
- 2:57there's always so much of it. I never know what to do with it.
- 3:00So I Give you guys a little hint, I keep a notebook called a
- 3:04parking lot and in the parking lot.
- 3:06I put all these crazy random ideas that I have and I write
- 3:11them down and I want to capture them because I don't want them
- 3:14to fly away because I really believe that ideas are alive.
- 3:17And when they come to us, we have the chance to actually do
- 3:20something with them. And if we don't, they'll go to
- 3:23somebody else. That's why we often see them out
- 3:25there. And we'll say, oh my God, that
- 3:26was my idea. I had that years ago but you
- 3:29never did anything with it. And then it Went to somebody
- 3:31else and that's why I when I first heard this whole concept
- 3:34of them being you know, energy alive energy and then they move
- 3:37on to find someone where they can be actualized, that's why it
- 3:41happens. So, from my perspective, if I
- 3:44capture them in the parking lot, then at the end of every month I
- 3:47can go to my parking lot and I can look and I can say, Okay are
- 3:50any of these inspiring me? Do any of these make me feel
- 3:52good? Well, the reason that I'm
- 3:54sitting in a chicken coop, doing a podcast for you is because
- 3:57that was one of those moments where I was like, well Is my
- 4:01place to thrive. I mean this might be some place
- 4:03for me to do my podcast because I would have done a podcast
- 4:07years ago, but I just didn't have an idea of where I would do
- 4:09it, or how what it would look like or how would I make it
- 4:12work? And then once I had the idea, I
- 4:14was like holy cow. This makes all the difference in
- 4:16the world. So I think it cultivating your
- 4:20your concept of putting your ideas in a parking.
- 4:24Lot is incredibly important because they're safe and they're
- 4:26there until you're ready to drive them just like a car and
- 4:30you can go Go into it at the end of every month and you can say,
- 4:33you know, and for me, it's like, you know, I like to look at the
- 4:36end of every week, but I forced myself to wait a month because I
- 4:38have so many different ones. So I would suggest you do it in
- 4:42your time frame. It could be every month, it
- 4:44could be every quarter, it could be once a year, but you go in.
- 4:47And then you look and you say, okay, now that I'm not in the
- 4:50emotion of creating the idea, let me look at it and see, is
- 4:53there something in here that's valid that I can actually pull
- 4:55out and drive that I want to move forward with.
- 4:58And this is exactly what happened with the chicken coop.
- 5:00This is exactly how it all took place.
- 5:03So I wanted you guys to know this because I love when we get
- 5:07up towards the end of the year. And we start thinking about,
- 5:10okay, well, how are we finishing the year, we going to finish
- 5:12strong, what do we need to accomplish?
- 5:14What things do we need to still do?
- 5:16And what things do we want to start thinking about for next
- 5:18year? So right now we're at the point
- 5:21where we're thinking, let's talk about finishing strong, let's
- 5:23talk about stuff. So if you have ideas that you've
- 5:26been sitting on and waiting on Heck, look at them, start to
- 5:29think about what Value, they could bring to the world because
- 5:32I like to think that my little chicken coop.
- 5:34Idea is bringing value to you guys.
- 5:36So go out and find your version of that because it surely makes
- 5:40me incredibly happy doing this for all of you.
- 5:42And I don't know, I think the chickens are pretty happy
- 5:45listening to them all the time. They seem to be.
- 5:47They like to come sit around and listen.
- 5:49So, I hope you guys have a blessed day and I hope it's
- 5:51super creative. And I hope you're flooded with
- 5:53ideas and I can't wait to hopefully hear some of them
- 5:57someday when you guys reach out and let me know what they are.
- 6:00All right, my friends. I will see you tomorrow.
- 6:02I hope you have a blessed day. Bye.
