- 0:03Speaker 1: This is a podcast called twenty five whist talking parts
- 0:08Speaker 1: and they all wear a whistle yet too bad? But
- 0:12Speaker 1: what did you expect? It's a podcast called twenty five Whistles.
- 0:19Speaker 1: I don't know that sports gets weird? Doesn't It like
- 0:22Speaker 1: scares me? It just felt like somebody's yelling R. But
- 0:26Speaker 1: it said sports. That's what's up, everybody. Twenty five Whistles
- 0:28Speaker 1: brought to you by a Draft King sports Book, an
- 0:30Speaker 1: official sports betting partner of the NBA. Download the Draft
- 0:33Speaker 1: King zapp used to code Bobby Sports to get in
- 0:35Speaker 1: on the action. And the question is did kept could
- 0:38Speaker 1: choke or did Rom just come to play? Wait? Think Kevin.
- 0:44Speaker 1: I think Rom is a savage man. I love watching
- 0:47Speaker 1: him play, especially that last day. Kevka is known for choking,
- 0:49Speaker 1: but Rom just has that look in his eyes, like
- 0:51Speaker 1: I know it's for the taken and it's gonna be mine.
- 0:54Speaker 1: I like the Rom one because I think he deserves
- 0:57Speaker 1: the Masters, and sometimes some of the other major win.
- 1:00Speaker 1: The Masters seems like the most elusive one, the hardest
- 1:02Speaker 1: one to get because the most biggest deal is made
- 1:04Speaker 1: about it. I mean, heck, they got their own app.
- 1:06Speaker 1: There no phones. I liked I think he deserved to
- 1:10Speaker 1: win it at some points. I'm glad to see it happen.
- 1:13Speaker 1: I think kept could choked too, mostly because what did
- 1:17Speaker 1: he play like, twenty over twenty holes and no birdies? Yeah,
- 1:22Speaker 1: I mean I think if you said, hey, Bob, you
- 1:24Speaker 1: get twenty holes, see if you get a birdie, I'm
- 1:26Speaker 1: probably still not gonna get one. But maybe, And he's
- 1:30Speaker 1: a pro. He had no birdies. He went twenty three
- 1:33Speaker 1: straight holes. Now, you gotta be honest and fair that
- 1:36Speaker 1: it was pouring down rain for some of that as well,
- 1:39Speaker 1: and it was hard to do anything with the rain
- 1:40Speaker 1: just because it came hard, it came light, and then
- 1:44Speaker 1: it came hard, and then it stayed hard for a while.
- 1:47Speaker 1: But man, once they got pretty, it was awesome again. Yeah,
- 1:49Speaker 1: Sunday it was beautiful. I felt bad for those guys
- 1:50Speaker 1: that played later in the day on day two because
- 1:53Speaker 1: they got their rounds one that was really wet, and
- 1:56Speaker 1: then two it was suspended. They had to get up
- 1:58Speaker 1: early in the morning and play even earlier again. So
- 2:02Speaker 1: I think Justin Thomas was a victim of that at
- 2:04Speaker 1: getting stuck in the bad weather. Not that he played
- 2:07Speaker 1: great anyway, but you're just not going and then the
- 2:09Speaker 1: greens are wet, and so you're having to play different
- 2:11Speaker 1: distances because your ball is not going to spend as much.
- 2:13Speaker 1: There are a lot of different things that I would
- 2:15Speaker 1: like to have learned since I started playing golf. But
- 2:17Speaker 1: I don't do that crap either, not good enough too.
- 2:19Speaker 1: So I've heard about it and I was watching it too.
- 2:22Speaker 1: They were all short. Everybody was short with the rain,
- 2:24Speaker 1: with the greens no role. So but I'm gonna go
- 2:28Speaker 1: more of a Kepta choke. But Rom was there the
- 2:32Speaker 1: first hole day one. I think he double bogie the sucker. Yeah,
- 2:36Speaker 1: and he four putted. Is that what happened? Yeah, four putted,
- 2:39Speaker 1: double bogie. I mean I do it all the time.
- 2:41Speaker 1: A little four putting four putt never hurts me. No,
- 2:43Speaker 1: not what I'm trying to win anyway. But yeah, there
- 2:46Speaker 1: you go. John Rom two time major champion, twenty twenty
- 2:49Speaker 1: one US Open being his other one. He is the
- 2:51Speaker 1: fourth Spanish golfer to win the Masters, the first one
- 2:54Speaker 1: since Sergio in twenty seventeen. It was his fourth PGA
- 2:57Speaker 1: win of twenty twenty three. John Rom, killer, You're right,
- 3:02Speaker 1: he's a killer like that. He's kind of got a
- 3:04Speaker 1: fat belly like his tall skinny gal with fat belly,
- 3:06Speaker 1: and I like that. And he was eating like last
- 3:07Speaker 1: five holes. Yeah, like I like. I like tall skinny
- 3:10Speaker 1: gal with fat belly guy because he's putting in the
- 3:12Speaker 1: work obviously to play golf. You know what, if he
- 3:16Speaker 1: wears a tight shirt, he doesn't care. He doesn't he
- 3:17Speaker 1: doesn't care other people think about him. That's what I
- 3:19Speaker 1: like about that dude. He can't have fat belly, You're
- 3:21Speaker 1: gonna be skinny everywhere else. He's gonna tuck a shirt
- 3:24Speaker 1: in and if you don't like his belly, that's on you.
- 3:26Speaker 1: Skinny fat. I can admire somebody's skinny fat because I
- 3:29Speaker 1: lived some of my life Skinny fat kept good six
- 3:33Speaker 1: Bogeis in that twenty three holes and finished tied with Phil, which,
- 3:37Speaker 1: by the way, Phil Mixing shot a sixty five. The
- 3:41Speaker 1: crowd just kind of didn't care. Some would be like,
- 3:44Speaker 1: there you'll Phil. The Phil's an endomy because Phil was
- 3:48Speaker 1: like the spokesperson of Live maybe not spokesperson who we
- 3:52Speaker 1: feel was like the guy that represents them because he
- 3:55Speaker 1: went for a bunch of money. He wears all black now,
- 3:57Speaker 1: which is weird, Like he totally took on the Hollywood
- 3:59Speaker 1: Hogan roll. I wasn't rooting for film Mickelson and I
- 4:02Speaker 1: always root for film Michelson absolutely, and he kind of
- 4:05Speaker 1: just shot up in that last day, ended up in second,
- 4:09Speaker 1: slowly step step step. Speef also was playing some really
- 4:14Speaker 1: good golf yesterday. He hit that one to the left
- 4:17Speaker 1: in the woods. I don't think he was ever going
- 4:19Speaker 1: to come back and compete to win it, but he
- 4:22Speaker 1: was a couple of strokes back from Whomember was in
- 4:26Speaker 1: second place, which probably kept at that point, and he
- 4:29Speaker 1: I think on seventeen or eighteen maybe eighteen, he pulled
- 4:33Speaker 1: it into the woods and then he was kind of
- 4:36Speaker 1: done from there. But SpeI played really well. Was awesome. Yeah,
- 4:38Speaker 1: I like Jordan's gotta play golf him twice. Super nice guy. Wow,
- 4:41Speaker 1: super fun guy. Really played with them at the Colonial
- 4:45Speaker 1: and the proem there, And it's not like I just
- 4:47Speaker 1: gotta play with Jordan Speed. But the Colonial had a
- 4:50Speaker 1: prom They invited me and they said, hey, come out
- 4:53Speaker 1: and it's a celebrity proem. Is there anybody that you'd
- 4:58Speaker 1: like to play with. I didn't know any golfer. I
- 5:00Speaker 1: don't know any pro golfers anyway, and so I called
- 5:03Speaker 1: Jaco and and I said, hey, who should I play with?
- 5:05Speaker 1: And he staid of Jordan playing. I said, yeah, I
- 5:07Speaker 1: go play with Jordan. I'll call him and says okay.
- 5:10Speaker 1: And so he calls him and he's like, okay, cool
- 5:12Speaker 1: you that was it. That's Jake and Jordan are buddies.
- 5:15Speaker 1: Like a full round with him. We played uh at
- 5:19Speaker 1: least nine maybe more than that. Wow. And then we
- 5:22Speaker 1: ended up playing at Pebble Beach. We played a part
- 5:25Speaker 1: three course together. We hit he just I mean, he
- 5:28Speaker 1: came sat with us when we ate, but M and
- 5:30Speaker 1: Jaker buddy. So I've just through association, I've gotten to
- 5:34Speaker 1: know him. I don't have his phone number. Okay, let's
- 5:36Speaker 1: get him on the pod. I know I don't have
- 5:38Speaker 1: his phone number, but I do have Jim Nances. That's true,
- 5:41Speaker 1: that's probably yeah, even better, Yeah, even better. I'm just
- 5:45Speaker 1: scared to call Jim Nance. Still haven't called. No. It
- 5:48Speaker 1: ended yesterday. It is last night. I assume we took
- 5:51Speaker 1: a private flight home, but maybe later on this week. Okay,
- 5:54Speaker 1: read Would you be intimidated to text Jim Nance? Um?
- 6:00Speaker 1: I would say, go for it. Would you be intimidated
- 6:02Speaker 1: to text Jim nance Okay, yeah, I would be, But
- 6:06Speaker 1: why are you saying, go I'm gonna have to but
- 6:08Speaker 1: why why would you tell me just go for it?
- 6:10Speaker 1: I mean I would if you wouldn't do it, I
- 6:12Speaker 1: mean I don't know. I think I think if you
- 6:17Speaker 1: got his number, just you know, just sending him a
- 6:19Speaker 1: follow up like hey man, I hope you're doing good.
- 6:23Speaker 1: What would you say to say hope you're doing good?
- 6:26Speaker 1: Be like, hey man, you sounded great on the Master.
- 6:29Speaker 1: I can't do that. I can't do that. I can't
- 6:31Speaker 1: go with a compliment, like a normal every day compliment.
- 6:33Speaker 1: This is but like, hey were you busy last week? Okay? Sorry,
- 6:38Speaker 1: I mean go ahead. Oh no, that's all I would say.
- 6:41Speaker 1: You would just say, hey, you sounded good on the Masters.
- 6:43Speaker 1: On the Masters, yeah you sounded incredible in the Masters. Okay,
- 6:47Speaker 1: but what's my action point? Because I need to you
- 6:50Speaker 1: get to ask like a question or have a direction,
- 6:54Speaker 1: because if I just go, hey, man's bobones here he
- 6:56Speaker 1: sounded great as the Masters, all he's gonna reply back
- 6:59Speaker 1: with it all thanks man in yeah that's true. I
- 7:02Speaker 1: treated like your's a it's a girl you're wanting to
- 7:04Speaker 1: date and you text her and you got to chum
- 7:07Speaker 1: something back. You can't just be like, hey, you looked
- 7:10Speaker 1: great yesterday. You gotta play a little hard to get
- 7:13Speaker 1: I don't know if I can play hard with Jim.
- 7:14Speaker 1: Nance's true. That's true, Mike. What do you think I
- 7:16Speaker 1: think you go for ask for the dinner, ask him
- 7:18Speaker 1: on a date at dinner. I'm not trying to get
- 7:19Speaker 1: him on the podcast here. Now, you gotta go for it.
- 7:23Speaker 1: Tiger Woods with Drew on Sunday due to foot injury.
- 7:25Speaker 1: It did look sad and he was kind of hobbling
- 7:26Speaker 1: around the green. He aggravated a previous injury. He finished
- 7:32Speaker 1: forty seventh overall. He made the cut because Jessein Thomas didn't.
- 7:35Speaker 1: I was watching, and if Jessein Thomas would have even
- 7:38Speaker 1: fallen to plus two, no plus three, they'd have all
- 7:42Speaker 1: made it. But I think he even fell out and
- 7:44Speaker 1: Jesse Thomas did not make the cut. And I think
- 7:46Speaker 1: Eddie picked Jesse Thomas. Yes in our parley and we
- 7:50Speaker 1: did not hit that. I do want to check out
- 7:51Speaker 1: on the others in a second. But the play was
- 7:53Speaker 1: to spend it on a Friday at a time due
- 7:55Speaker 1: to those three pine trees falling over on the seventeenth toll.
- 7:58Speaker 1: Massive trees, tim Burr type trees, not just limbs coming
- 8:01Speaker 1: off a tree, full timber. The fact that nobody was
- 8:05Speaker 1: hit by anything wild wild because everybody was standing in
- 8:08Speaker 1: the area anyway because it's behind a hole. Yeah, it
- 8:11Speaker 1: was crazy. So there you go your master's recap. Congratulations
- 8:15Speaker 1: to John Rom your payouts for this. John Rom won
- 8:21Speaker 1: three point two million for finishing first. Phil Mickelson and
- 8:25Speaker 1: Kepka each one one point six million. They tied for second,
- 8:30Speaker 1: tied for fourth. Since there were three Russell Henley, Patrick
- 8:33Speaker 1: Rad and Jordan Speed, they won seven hundred and forty
- 8:35Speaker 1: four thousand dollars. Cam Young and Hoblin six hundred thousand.
- 8:39Speaker 1: Hoblins want to jumped out Day one for a while
- 8:41Speaker 1: it was like five hunder six hunder quickly, you know what.
- 8:44Speaker 1: And he played pretty well to stay there. He wasn't
- 8:47Speaker 1: expected to be up there. But you know they were
- 8:50Speaker 1: talking to Kepka. Was it Russell Henley who was playing
- 8:54Speaker 1: so slow? The group ahead of him because he said
- 8:58Speaker 1: Ram used the bathroom seven times. The pace was so slow.
- 9:02Speaker 1: That's like going to a muni and there's a sixum
- 9:05Speaker 1: ahead of you. He apposed to play with six ms,
- 9:08Speaker 1: but they set it off where two of them went
- 9:09Speaker 1: and there was four and they all just combined like
- 9:11Speaker 1: whole three to try to get one over on the system. Yeah,
- 9:14Speaker 1: whoever was ahead of them was extremely slow. And then
- 9:18Speaker 1: the um I'm gonna say his name wrong, but I
- 9:20Speaker 1: watched him on full Swing Sahath the Gala. Yeah, I
- 9:27Speaker 1: loved him on the show. That was like a dude,
- 9:29Speaker 1: You're like, that's the dude you want to hang out with.
- 9:31Speaker 1: He seems so nice, hard working. First time I moved
- 9:33Speaker 1: out of his parents house. He has an apartment. He's
- 9:35Speaker 1: doing laundry, but yeah, and he's like, I gotta make
- 9:38Speaker 1: And he finished his top ten, made half a million
- 9:40Speaker 1: dollars stoked. Scheffler did finish tenth, so we would have
- 9:43Speaker 1: hit the Scheffler top ten in the parley. Scheffler, Fitzpatrick, Morikawa,
- 9:49Speaker 1: they all finished tied for tenth four hundred and thirty
- 9:51Speaker 1: two thousand. Now, if you just made the cut, if
- 9:53Speaker 1: you so a fifty third. Keith Mitchell made forty five
- 9:56Speaker 1: thousand dollars, so they probably paid for his room and
- 9:59Speaker 1: board down in the Gusteteah making the cut what'd you
- 10:03Speaker 1: find for me? Over there? I see it just diligently
- 10:05Speaker 1: diving into I am and I'm trying to look for
- 10:07Speaker 1: Jason Day. I'm pretty sure he finished like thirty seventh.
- 10:09Speaker 1: He was doing great all weekend and then he kind
- 10:12Speaker 1: of he fell off, so like thirty seventh, and then,
- 10:15Speaker 1: like you said, the top ten we did get from
- 10:18Speaker 1: Scheffler there here. Keep looking it up. I'll do a
- 10:20Speaker 1: little commercial here. We got a lot to talk about.
- 10:23Speaker 1: But as you look that up, especially the Rudy Gobert
- 10:27Speaker 1: shoulder punch, which was hilarious. All right, let's talk about

- 11:30Speaker 1: I'll mention this before I get over to Houston Barber,
- 11:32Speaker 1: who's one of my favorite TikTok people to follow when
- 11:35Speaker 1: it comes to sports news, is that Eddie and I
- 11:39Speaker 1: and a couple of other friends went to play a
- 11:40Speaker 1: little golf on maybe Saturday. But it was cold and
- 11:43Speaker 1: it was raining. The last few times I've tried to
- 11:45Speaker 1: play golf, it's been raining, it's been terrible, and I've
- 11:47Speaker 1: played so bad. I don't even understand how I played
- 11:51Speaker 1: so bad. I don't understand how some days I can
- 11:54Speaker 1: go out and it's not just pull on it a
- 11:56Speaker 1: little or slicing in a little. Some days I can
- 11:58Speaker 1: go out and I get the ball pretty good. There
- 12:00Speaker 1: other days where I can't hit the ball and I
- 12:01Speaker 1: can't get it up in the air. And then like,
- 12:02Speaker 1: how's my body that different from one day to the next.
- 12:05Speaker 1: How's my body so different that I can't remember how
- 12:07Speaker 1: to swing. I'm not saying it wasn't a like I
- 12:10Speaker 1: wasn't just a little off, Like, oh, I had really
- 12:12Speaker 1: had a bad day. You know. I was hooking them
- 12:15Speaker 1: all a little, a little to the right because I'm
- 12:16Speaker 1: left handed. No, it's terrible. There were times where I
- 12:19Speaker 1: was just nozzling it, hozzling it, cozzling it, whatever you
- 12:22Speaker 1: call a little stick on the back side of it.
- 12:24Speaker 1: It was so stupid. Eddie and I both played so terrible.
- 12:28Speaker 1: We walked the course because we started playing at three
- 12:32Speaker 1: and it was car path only. And if you drive
- 12:34Speaker 1: a car and you do car path only, you get
- 12:36Speaker 1: up the ball and you got to walk out to
- 12:37Speaker 1: the ball, then you gotta go walk out the wrong clubs.
- 12:39Speaker 1: You gotta walk back anyway, and you got mud. So
- 12:42Speaker 1: we're like, let's just walk it about the same distance anyway. Wrong,
- 12:45Speaker 1: it was muddy and we were exhausted. We drug a
- 12:48Speaker 1: cart behind us the whole time. I don't mind walking
- 12:51Speaker 1: it as long as it eddie my caddy. I've only
- 12:53Speaker 1: ever walked with somebody caddy a fart. But we drugged
- 12:56Speaker 1: this old cart and the car was broken on the bottom.
- 12:58Speaker 1: Was the back kept falling off my cart. It felt
- 12:59Speaker 1: all the way in the mud. Once my white and
- 13:01Speaker 1: red backs covered in mud. The disaster overall, horrible day,
- 13:05Speaker 1: horrible day. So I went to the range yesterday evening
- 13:08Speaker 1: for a little bit and hit balls. And I was like, okay,
- 13:11Speaker 1: I'm good, But how come this good doesn't go out
- 13:13Speaker 1: there on the course. Yes, she was beautiful. Yeah, how's
- 13:16Speaker 1: it hitting a beautiful? Yeah? I guarantee the next time
- 13:17Speaker 1: I got the course it will not beautiful. Probably. It's
- 13:19Speaker 1: so annoying. All right, you got him? You want more time?
- 13:23Speaker 1: I need more time? You got it. If time is
- 13:25Speaker 1: what you want, time is what you get. Let's go
- 13:27Speaker 1: talk to Houston Barber. This dude, so knowledgeable, corner Blitz,
- 13:31Speaker 1: such a good account to follow, and here he is.
- 13:34Speaker 1: We talk about it all here football, basketball, well mostly
- 13:37Speaker 1: just that, but here he is. Houston, Barber Houston, what's up, dude.
- 13:41Speaker 1: I'm doing good, Bobby. How are you doing good? To
- 13:42Speaker 1: see you again? You know, everybody listening. Their corner Blitz
- 13:45Speaker 1: is one of my favorite TikTok accounts to follow. I
- 13:47Speaker 1: think Houston lays it out in a way that's not
- 13:50Speaker 1: only not insulting to hardcore sports fans, but also if
- 13:55Speaker 1: you don't know much about sports at all, it's so
- 13:57Speaker 1: entertaining that, you know, you kind of start waiting into it.
- 14:00Speaker 1: So I think that's a good compliment. You know, you
- 14:01Speaker 1: can you talk up and down to folks. That's awesome.
- 14:05Speaker 1: I'll take it. Think. So, you know, one of the
- 14:06Speaker 1: videos I haven't been waiting to talk to you about
- 14:08Speaker 1: was this FBI college basketball video that you'd put up.
- 14:12Speaker 1: It may put up a month or so ago, and
- 14:14Speaker 1: so it's kind of how the whole scandal fell apart
- 14:17Speaker 1: and how it fell apart. But I'm gonna let you
- 14:20Speaker 1: tell the story. So what was the what was the
- 14:22Speaker 1: FBI doing to begin with? So about five years ago
- 14:26Speaker 1: or so, the FBI kind of announced out of nowhere
- 14:29Speaker 1: that there was a big investigation in progress into college basketball,
- 14:33Speaker 1: and when they originally announced it, it seemed like it
- 14:36Speaker 1: was going to be an investigation that was going to
- 14:38Speaker 1: break college basketball wide open, and a lot of the
- 14:41Speaker 1: biggest names in the sport were reported to be implicated
- 14:45Speaker 1: in the investigation, and you know, media was running wild
- 14:48Speaker 1: with it talking about all that could come out of
- 14:51Speaker 1: this investigation. We saw kind of drops of news come
- 14:55Speaker 1: out of it, and then out of nowhere, the investigation
- 14:57Speaker 1: kind of stopped and no one really suffered any consequences
- 15:00Speaker 1: from it except for a few low level assistant coaches,
- 15:04Speaker 1: and a couple months ago we found out what really
- 15:07Speaker 1: happened with the investigation, which is that the FBI did
- 15:10Speaker 1: have some big names involved and they set up a
- 15:13Speaker 1: sting operation in Las Vegas. They got a hotel and
- 15:18Speaker 1: they had an FBI agent go undercover and bring basketball
- 15:22Speaker 1: coaches into Las Vegas, give them money under wire tap,
- 15:26Speaker 1: and all you know, reports are that fa sting operation
- 15:30Speaker 1: was a success and they got coaches, handed them money,
- 15:33Speaker 1: got them on tape. But what happened was with the
- 15:36Speaker 1: leftover money, the FBI agents kind of had a little
- 15:39Speaker 1: bit of a spending spree in Las Vegas, spent a
- 15:43Speaker 1: lot of the money on casinos and drinks, and by
- 15:46Speaker 1: doing that kind of ruined all of the evidence and investigation,
- 15:49Speaker 1: and it led to the FBI kind of shutting down
- 15:52Speaker 1: a lot of the funds for this investigation and ruined
- 15:56Speaker 1: a lot of you know, the good work that they
- 15:58Speaker 1: were doing and limited what I was able to accomplish
- 16:03Speaker 1: without investigation. And it got a lot of people off
- 16:05Speaker 1: the hook by doing that, which is crazy. Becauld you
- 16:07Speaker 1: just have these guys or guys meaning could be men
- 16:10Speaker 1: or women, but do you have these guys who are trained,
- 16:14Speaker 1: who have been sent there to do a job that
- 16:16Speaker 1: they've also been a part of for a long time.
- 16:19Speaker 1: But there's a little extra money and they just thought
- 16:21Speaker 1: they had to go spend it on you know, some
- 16:23Speaker 1: drinks and some gambling, and it spoiled the whole thing.
- 16:27Speaker 1: It was like, it corrupted the whole investigation. But if
- 16:30Speaker 1: that leaks out because that part of the story, did,
- 16:33Speaker 1: how come we're not seeing leaks have like the tapes
- 16:35Speaker 1: that they got of the coaches exactly? And I think
- 16:39Speaker 1: that is how a lot of programs really locked out.
- 16:42Speaker 1: And I think, you know, we obviously saw Kansas was involved.
- 16:45Speaker 1: I think, you know, a lot of the Nike schools,
- 16:48Speaker 1: you know, when this investigation was announced, were really the
- 16:51Speaker 1: nervous ones because I was kind of the crux of
- 16:53Speaker 1: what was happening was that these assistant coaches were making
- 16:57Speaker 1: side deals with the shoe companies to get their players
- 17:00Speaker 1: to sign long term deals with the shoe companies and
- 17:03Speaker 1: exchange for getting massive amounts of money to either the
- 17:06Speaker 1: coaches personally or to fund all the money from the
- 17:09Speaker 1: coaches to the players to get them to go to
- 17:11Speaker 1: their school. Even when you look at LSU and what
- 17:14Speaker 1: happened there where, you know, not this last season, but
- 17:17Speaker 1: you know, he got into some trouble and you know,
- 17:19Speaker 1: he's not coaching somewhere else. But was there was he
- 17:23Speaker 1: involved in this specifically? You know, I don't. I think
- 17:26Speaker 1: he kind of had in a whole world of trouble
- 17:28Speaker 1: under himself. But it really was a connection of you know,
- 17:31Speaker 1: the FBI was undercovering a real, you know thing that
- 17:35Speaker 1: was happening in college basketball, which was all this under
- 17:38Speaker 1: the table money, and it's really something that we knew
- 17:40Speaker 1: was happening all along, and you know, everyone kind of
- 17:42Speaker 1: turned a blind eye towards But another thing that kind
- 17:45Speaker 1: of helped out these college basketball coaches was, you know,
- 17:48Speaker 1: the start of nil And now everyone is used to
- 17:51Speaker 1: college players getting paid a ton of money. So if
- 17:53Speaker 1: you hear about, you know, a college basketball player getting paid,
- 17:56Speaker 1: you know, a million dollars, that's not quite a shocking
- 17:59Speaker 1: now as it would have been, you know, four or
- 18:01Speaker 1: five years ago. Yeah, because when the Will Wade story
- 18:03Speaker 1: came out, they had audio of a recording and not
- 18:06Speaker 1: the same. But I just imagine if he's doing it there,
- 18:08Speaker 1: he's probably up in Vegas hitting it harder too. This
- 18:11Speaker 1: is all speculation on my part, but if Will Wade's
- 18:13Speaker 1: on a phone call and they got him recorded, I
- 18:15Speaker 1: can't imagine he's not up on the luxe or you know,
- 18:18Speaker 1: going hard as well. Exactly. Yeah, and then McNee State
- 18:22Speaker 1: hired Will Wade. Is there a couple of those coaching
- 18:25Speaker 1: situations that I look at now that'd be a tough one. Also,
- 18:29Speaker 1: Old miss you know their basketball program with beer, that
- 18:34Speaker 1: would be a tough one. I mean, how eventually he
- 18:37Speaker 1: has to answer questions, right, because I've watched a couple
- 18:39Speaker 1: of depressors and he doesn't answer anything at all. Houston
- 18:42Speaker 1: what do you think that the idea is down at
- 18:44Speaker 1: old misses it just when and who cares? Is it? Yeah?
- 18:48Speaker 1: I think that's kind of a motto that you know,
- 18:51Speaker 1: they've they've seen finding a lot of success and other
- 18:53Speaker 1: programs for it. I mean, as long as you're win
- 18:55Speaker 1: and people aren't going to be asking questions, and now
- 18:57Speaker 1: it flips on its head when you start losing, then
- 18:59Speaker 1: people have all sorts of questions. But you know, you
- 19:02Speaker 1: keep the fans happy, you keep the boosters happy, you
- 19:04Speaker 1: can stay away from a lot of trouble. When you
- 19:07Speaker 1: look back at Bruce Pearl who basically cooked a hamburger
- 19:09Speaker 1: for a kid and you know, gets sent out of Tennessee,
- 19:13Speaker 1: you know, and he's at Auburn now, you know, you're right.
- 19:16Speaker 1: Sometimes things that happened now they're all okay because the
- 19:19Speaker 1: rules have changed. But when it happened ten years ago,
- 19:23Speaker 1: it's a whole offense. And you got him. You got
- 19:25Speaker 1: to cleanse the program exactly. And I think that's one
- 19:28Speaker 1: of the things that makes the ncuble a so frustrating.
- 19:30Speaker 1: There's a great example. You know, there was a kid
- 19:32Speaker 1: from a Florida state this year. He was one of
- 19:34Speaker 1: their you know, their top freshman that they brought in,
- 19:38Speaker 1: and right before the season started he got suspended for
- 19:40Speaker 1: over half the season. I think it was about twenty
- 19:42Speaker 1: games or so because he took a flight from Europe
- 19:46Speaker 1: to America when he was a teenager that was paid
- 19:49Speaker 1: for by some training company. The NC double A suspended
- 19:53Speaker 1: him twenty five games for that. It was, you know,
- 19:55Speaker 1: a three hundred dollars flight. He had a missed basically
- 19:57Speaker 1: an entire freshman season because of that. And then you have,
- 20:01Speaker 1: you know, all of it, as you mentioned, all these
- 20:03Speaker 1: coaches running around doing insane things that you know, because
- 20:06Speaker 1: they're winning, because they're more powerful, you know, they don't
- 20:09Speaker 1: have our face consequences. But GUNS double A can really
- 20:12Speaker 1: push her thumb down on people where they can find
- 20:15Speaker 1: reasons to do so and know that they won't get
- 20:16Speaker 1: a kind of push back from Were you thinking about
- 20:18Speaker 1: Reggie Bush should he get his heisman back? Absolutely? Yeah.
- 20:21Speaker 1: I mean I think at this point, I think, you know,
- 20:24Speaker 1: unless you're in jail, you should be pretty much cart
- 20:26Speaker 1: blaunched for saying getting everything back you deserve because I
- 20:31Speaker 1: think everyone is kind of reshaping in their minds what
- 20:34Speaker 1: a college athlete brings in terms of value and what
- 20:37Speaker 1: they should be receiving in terms of value, even just
- 20:39Speaker 1: gambling in general. Right, I mean, the betting culture is
- 20:42Speaker 1: now just a normal culture. I was at I was
- 20:44Speaker 1: doing an event, and I was speaking in an event,
- 20:46Speaker 1: and I was sitting next to a pastor and he
- 20:48Speaker 1: was like, Hey, what's the line on the And I'm like,
- 20:50Speaker 1: you're a pastor. But then I go, well, I shouldn't.
- 20:54Speaker 1: There's nothing it's legal, there's nothing wrong with it, and
- 20:57Speaker 1: he was like, yeah, I bet on these games sometime
- 21:00Speaker 1: times for fun. And so even that I leaned like
- 21:03Speaker 1: somebody like Pete Rose, who obviously has been banned from
- 21:07Speaker 1: baseball because the gambling he did back in the day.
- 21:09Speaker 1: But do you feel like that's different with Pete Rose
- 21:12Speaker 1: because he was betting within his sport, although he says
- 21:14Speaker 1: it's not the set his own team. Yeah, I mean,
- 21:17Speaker 1: when you're when you're gambling on a sport that you're
- 21:20Speaker 1: an active participant on, it definitely gets into murky waters.
- 21:23Speaker 1: And I think that's one of those things that you know,
- 21:25Speaker 1: any sports league should have a really hard stance on,
- 21:28Speaker 1: because you know, when you get into the actual integrity
- 21:31Speaker 1: of the games and the scores, themselves. You know, you
- 21:34Speaker 1: can kind of ruin a lot by doing that. So
- 21:36Speaker 1: I you know, on the Pete Rose thing, I've kind
- 21:38Speaker 1: of an agreement of him. You know. It's tough because
- 21:42Speaker 1: it's hard to tell the story of baseball without Pete Rose.
- 21:45Speaker 1: But you do have to suffer consequences when you are
- 21:47Speaker 1: in those waters. I'll throw one more at just Calvin Ridley,
- 21:50Speaker 1: who was suspended for All twenty twenty two basically for
- 21:53Speaker 1: betting on NFL games, and he's back, he's playing this year.
- 21:57Speaker 1: So is Pete Rose so different than Calvin Ridley? You know, honestly,
- 22:02Speaker 1: I don't think their stories are that different, you know,
- 22:04Speaker 1: I don't. I don't think Calvin Ridley is going to
- 22:07Speaker 1: be uh breaking any NFL records, and you don't have
- 22:10Speaker 1: a Hall of Fame case that Pete Rose may have.
- 22:13Speaker 1: But I think, you know, the NFL definitely used Colvin
- 22:16Speaker 1: Ridley as an example to show that, you know, if
- 22:19Speaker 1: you come close to messing with the gambling waters, you're
- 22:23Speaker 1: gonna get in trouble. And I think, actually that's a
- 22:26Speaker 1: writer instance where I'm kind of in agreement with the
- 22:28Speaker 1: NFL there. So, Houston, if you're the director of all
- 22:30Speaker 1: Sports and the Commissioner of All Sports, would you feel
- 22:33Speaker 1: that Pete Rose has served his time and now should
- 22:35Speaker 1: be allowed to be back in which then puts him
- 22:36Speaker 1: in the Hall of Fame? Or would you say no forever?
- 22:40Speaker 1: Or would you let him die and then put him
- 22:41Speaker 1: in the Hall of Fame so he can't screw anything up?
- 22:44Speaker 1: You know? In my opinion, I think he has served
- 22:48Speaker 1: his sentence in terms of punishment, and I think it
- 22:51Speaker 1: would be good before he, you know, passes away to
- 22:55Speaker 1: get him in the Hall of Fame. And I actually
- 22:57Speaker 1: feel the same way about the stair work guys as well,
- 23:00Speaker 1: just in terms of I don't think you can show
- 23:03Speaker 1: the history of baseball without mentioning Pete Road, without mentioning
- 23:07Speaker 1: Barry Bonds, those guys that are so integral to the sport.
- 23:10Speaker 1: And if you want to, you know, put an asterisk
- 23:13Speaker 1: in there, however you can, that's fine, But they were
- 23:16Speaker 1: so important into the story of baseball that you have
- 23:20Speaker 1: to show what they accomplish. That's a great point about
- 23:23Speaker 1: the steroid era in baseball. That was an era when
- 23:26Speaker 1: the strike hit and we needed something amazing, and it's
- 23:28Speaker 1: like you needed Sosa and you needed Bonds and you
- 23:32Speaker 1: need a McGuire to all come out hit all these
- 23:34Speaker 1: home runs to get people interested in the sport. But
- 23:36Speaker 1: now we're going, well, since you had all the home
- 23:37Speaker 1: runs because you were taking steroids, we're gonna make sure
- 23:40Speaker 1: you're not allowed in the Hall of Famer. It's gonna
- 23:41Speaker 1: be very difficult for you to get in. You're right, Houston,
- 23:44Speaker 1: that is very hypocritical, and I stand against I'm gonna
- 23:46Speaker 1: forget about this conversation in twenty minutes, but I stand
- 23:48Speaker 1: against it because we should let all the steroid users
- 23:51Speaker 1: in if they performed well. And I think I think
- 23:54Speaker 1: that's honestly like a similar mindset we have to the
- 23:56Speaker 1: nil now where you know, when the steroid stories where
- 23:59Speaker 1: first break in the early two thousands, all of us were,
- 24:02Speaker 1: you know, we shocked, or we were at least acted
- 24:04Speaker 1: shocked by it. And I think looking back now, a
- 24:06Speaker 1: lot of those, uh, those reactions were probably overreactions, just
- 24:12Speaker 1: because we can appreciate now twenty years back, just how
- 24:16Speaker 1: talented Barry Bonds was, how you know, impressive it was
- 24:19Speaker 1: for Mark McGwire and Sammy Silsa to go on those
- 24:21Speaker 1: home run streaks, you know, and even before the steroid
- 24:25Speaker 1: you know, uh pop Phone, Barry Bonds, he probably was
- 24:27Speaker 1: still a Hall of Fame player. You know, those guys absolutely,
- 24:31Speaker 1: you know, deserved the recognition now, and I think they've
- 24:33Speaker 1: more than suffered the consequences. They probably deserved some consequences
- 24:37Speaker 1: for you know, what they were dealing with, But they
- 24:41Speaker 1: need to be honored by Major League Baseball. I think, yeah,
- 24:44Speaker 1: we needed them to do what they did to bring
- 24:46Speaker 1: baseball back, and they did right. It was all over everywhere.
- 24:49Speaker 1: It was top of the cycle, news cycle and sports cycle.
- 24:52Speaker 1: But now we're punishing them for what we needed them
- 24:55Speaker 1: to do. We suck. Yeah, me too. We suck for
- 24:59Speaker 1: not being we love these steroids. A couple other things
- 25:02Speaker 1: I want to talk about here is San Diego State
- 25:04Speaker 1: now want to run, made it all the way to
- 25:07Speaker 1: the end, didn't win it, but all the way to
- 25:08Speaker 1: the end, and now possibly going over to the PAC twelve.
- 25:11Speaker 1: What are you hearing about this? Yeah, so you know,
- 25:14Speaker 1: San Diego State was one of those teams that was
- 25:18Speaker 1: being looked at by the PAC twelve. And you know,
- 25:20Speaker 1: I did a video about this because you know, I
- 25:22Speaker 1: thought you can make the case that San Diego State
- 25:25Speaker 1: had more pressure in that tournament than maybe any team
- 25:29Speaker 1: in tournament history, just in terms of the fact that
- 25:31Speaker 1: the future of their entire program could have very much
- 25:35Speaker 1: well been on the line in terms of whether they
- 25:37Speaker 1: were not they were going to get in the PAC
- 25:38Speaker 1: twelve at you know, the PAC twelve. Looking at San
- 25:41Speaker 1: Diego State now, I think it's very different than looking
- 25:44Speaker 1: at San Diego State a few months ago. So you
- 25:46Speaker 1: can add a team into your conference that you know,
- 25:49Speaker 1: just made a Final four, has a lot of you know,
- 25:51Speaker 1: bright future ahead of them, And at San Diego State,
- 25:54Speaker 1: you know that people would make, you know, make fun
- 25:56Speaker 1: of the amount that the PAC twelve is making in
- 25:59Speaker 1: terms of pairing it to the SEC of the Big ten.
- 26:01Speaker 1: But when you're comparing the mount the PAC twelve makes
- 26:04Speaker 1: to the Mountain West Conference, you know, in those smaller
- 26:06Speaker 1: level conferences, it's a huge difference. So san Diego State
- 26:10Speaker 1: getting Power five level money injected into their program, you know,
- 26:14Speaker 1: they can become a really good football team. They're a
- 26:16Speaker 1: pretty decent football team right now. Just with you know,
- 26:19Speaker 1: lower level conference funding. You give them PAC twelve funding,
- 26:22Speaker 1: I think they can be you know, a serious team
- 26:24Speaker 1: on the level of Utah, you know, those other Arizona,
- 26:28Speaker 1: Arizona State down, they'll be right in line with those teams.
- 26:31Speaker 1: And that's a huge momentum for the San Diego State
- 26:35Speaker 1: program and building off that tournament run. I think it's
- 26:38Speaker 1: gonna be hard for the PAC twelve to deny them. Now.
- 26:40Speaker 1: So when you talk about dan flex of cash, and
- 26:42Speaker 1: you know, I live in SEC Land and my favorite
- 26:44Speaker 1: teams an SEC team, and I understand what it can
- 26:46Speaker 1: do and what it allows, I mean, facility wise, coach wise,
- 26:50Speaker 1: you just can kind of go down the line. But
- 26:52Speaker 1: what's the difference in Mountain West and PAC twelve money?
- 26:54Speaker 1: So the PAC twelve teams make you know, somewhere between
- 26:57Speaker 1: thirty or forty million a year right now, and they're
- 26:59Speaker 1: gonna signed another media contract soon. It's kind of we
- 27:02Speaker 1: don't know yet how much money they'll make, but they'll
- 27:05Speaker 1: probably be a little bit more than they're currently making now.
- 27:08Speaker 1: Mount West, you know, team they make as little as
- 27:11Speaker 1: you know, five million a year. So you think about
- 27:14Speaker 1: a six times you know, annual revenue increase for San
- 27:18Speaker 1: Diego State. You know they can do a ton with that,
- 27:20Speaker 1: not just you know, in terms of the players they
- 27:22Speaker 1: can do. They can hire a much higher level of coaches,
- 27:26Speaker 1: you know, all across the board, you know everything that
- 27:28Speaker 1: you need to run a football program nowadays. And I
- 27:30Speaker 1: think San Diego State, you know, they knew that they
- 27:33Speaker 1: were on the precipice of getting invited joining in and
- 27:36Speaker 1: that's why I said, I think San Diego State had
- 27:38Speaker 1: as much pressure as any team because they knew that
- 27:41Speaker 1: they could make a name for themselves in that tournament
- 27:43Speaker 1: run and they pulled it off, which is pretty impressive.
- 27:46Speaker 1: I like realignment. I think it's fun. I think it's
- 27:48Speaker 1: you know, I understand it's a business. I think if
- 27:50Speaker 1: you get lost it it's not a business, then you
- 27:52Speaker 1: start to get sad. But I understand it's a business
- 27:54Speaker 1: that I also think is very fun. And so with
- 27:56Speaker 1: realignment in the SEC, we have Oklahoma and Texas coming
- 27:59Speaker 1: in nothing this year, but the next year after that?
- 28:01Speaker 1: To you, is that something that you're excited about? And secondly,
- 28:05Speaker 1: you know we've seen kind of the league. I think
- 28:08Speaker 1: when Saban went down for media days, they had who
- 28:11Speaker 1: Alabama was supposed to play, because Saban was upset, like,
- 28:14Speaker 1: what are you hearing about how these coaches are feeling
- 28:16Speaker 1: about it? And have we kind of been told who
- 28:20Speaker 1: they're not pods really, but are you in totally that
- 28:23Speaker 1: that's who each team is playing as their specific three
- 28:27Speaker 1: It seems like the teams now have a pretty decent
- 28:30Speaker 1: idea of how the scheduling it's going to work. And
- 28:32Speaker 1: it seems like, you know, you'll have about two teams
- 28:35Speaker 1: that you two or three teams that you will play
- 28:37Speaker 1: every single year. And the problem is, you know, it'll
- 28:40Speaker 1: be a good thing for some teams, a good you know,
- 28:42Speaker 1: a bad thing for other teams, but they're not going
- 28:44Speaker 1: to really keep the annual rivalries that as youc fans
- 28:49Speaker 1: will come to know, the big ones like Florida, Georgia,
- 28:51Speaker 1: you know, Auburn, Alabama, those will stay, but you know, Georgia, Tennessee, Florida, Tennessee, Arkansas, LSU,
- 28:58Speaker 1: those games may not happen on an annual basis anymore.
- 29:02Speaker 1: And again, you know, you can look at that a
- 29:04Speaker 1: good way or a bad way. I'm all for these
- 29:07Speaker 1: conference expansions. I'm really excited for and I think it's
- 29:09Speaker 1: something that is kind of being underdiscussed. But college football
- 29:14Speaker 1: is going to change so much after this upcoming season.
- 29:17Speaker 1: You think this is the last season with four playoff
- 29:19Speaker 1: teams the SEC, Big Ten, Big twelve Pack twelve are
- 29:24Speaker 1: gonna look like completely different conferences after this season is over,
- 29:29Speaker 1: you know, and even the way the conference championship games
- 29:31Speaker 1: are played, You're not going to have an East champion
- 29:34Speaker 1: in a West champion playing a championship. It's just going
- 29:36Speaker 1: to be the two teams with the best you know,
- 29:39Speaker 1: overall records and conference play are going to be playing
- 29:41Speaker 1: in these conference championship games, which means you could get
- 29:44Speaker 1: you know, an Alabama Auburn an SEC championship game, a
- 29:47Speaker 1: Michigan Ohio State Big Ten championship game. The accs are
- 29:51Speaker 1: already doing that this year. You know, the their their conference.
- 29:55Speaker 1: You know, side draw the window, so you know, you
- 29:57Speaker 1: can have a SCU Clempson playing in an ACC championship game.
- 30:01Speaker 1: And these are big time changes that you know are
- 30:03Speaker 1: going to really affect, you know, how fans view the sport,
- 30:07Speaker 1: even how teams play, because you know, with the twelve
- 30:09Speaker 1: team playoff, a lot more teams are going to be
- 30:12Speaker 1: really invested in those final games of the year where
- 30:15Speaker 1: now you know, we come to the last two weeks
- 30:16Speaker 1: of the season, there's really only six teams that we
- 30:18Speaker 1: pay attention to in terms of national prominence. Now you know,
- 30:22Speaker 1: there's so many teams that are going to be trying
- 30:23Speaker 1: to get those last few spots, and I think it's
- 30:26Speaker 1: going to make a really fun end of November run
- 30:28Speaker 1: for college football fans. Yeah, me too. I'm pumped about
- 30:31Speaker 1: it because again, it gives more programs a reason to
- 30:34Speaker 1: be very loud, annoying, vocal program and that's awesome. I
- 30:37Speaker 1: always say, if I'm annoyed at your team, or if
- 30:39Speaker 1: I like hate you, not you Houston, I like you,
- 30:42Speaker 1: but like hate you because of your allegiance. I mean,
- 30:44Speaker 1: your team has been beating mine, and like I can't
- 30:47Speaker 1: stand tennis, I can't stand the volunteers. I hate them,
- 30:49Speaker 1: But I tell them that all the time, that it's
- 30:51Speaker 1: respecting because if you did, if you aren't a thorn
- 30:53Speaker 1: in my freaking foot, I wouldn't hate you. I hate
- 30:56Speaker 1: the long Horns. Maybe I just hate orange guys. Everything
- 30:58Speaker 1: about that may I just hate the color orange for
- 30:59Speaker 1: that reason, But it's you know, whenever you really despise
- 31:03Speaker 1: a team, it's because usually they've gotten the better of
- 31:05Speaker 1: view a bunch of times. But this is going to
- 31:07Speaker 1: make more programs unbearable for longer and I'm all for
- 31:11Speaker 1: it because that means I'm invested in I love the twelve.
- 31:14Speaker 1: Let's go to sixteen before even get the twelve going,
- 31:16Speaker 1: I say, it's gonna happen. Yeah, we see that in
- 31:19Speaker 1: college basketball, we will pass forty years teams seep getting
- 31:22Speaker 1: added to the tournament. It's going to happen in college
- 31:23Speaker 1: football as well. What do you think? I got a
- 31:26Speaker 1: couple more questions for you, but NIO you know as
- 31:28Speaker 1: far as what's happening in the NIL space now, And
- 31:31Speaker 1: I will tell you that I've done a few INNIL
- 31:32Speaker 1: deals with players myself, so like, I am educated on
- 31:36Speaker 1: the process. However, what I probably am not educated enough
- 31:39Speaker 1: on is what rules maybe put into place soon to
- 31:43Speaker 1: kind of corral in the old wild West right now? Like,
- 31:46Speaker 1: what are you hearing in io wise that somebody could
- 31:48Speaker 1: do to just not make this a land of I'll
- 31:51Speaker 1: give you a million bucks and literally you've got to
- 31:52Speaker 1: come and sign a piece of paper. I mean, it's
- 31:54Speaker 1: almost there are no rules at all. What's going to
- 31:56Speaker 1: change exactly? And unfortunately, I honestly don't see that changing
- 32:00Speaker 1: anytime soon because the NC Double A right now is
- 32:02Speaker 1: making the same mistake that it's made for the past,
- 32:05Speaker 1: you know, twenty thirty years or so, which is they're
- 32:08Speaker 1: hoping that, you know, Congress is going to fix all
- 32:10Speaker 1: their problems for them. They're trying to go through Congress,
- 32:13Speaker 1: through their senators to create you know, a national NIL bill,
- 32:17Speaker 1: and there's just not support for that, and I don't
- 32:19Speaker 1: think the NCAA is gonna have any success with that,
- 32:22Speaker 1: you know. And short of that, the NCAA doesn't seem
- 32:24Speaker 1: to have any real interest in creating you know, NIL
- 32:27Speaker 1: barriers themselves. They probably know that, you know, as an institution,
- 32:31Speaker 1: they're not powerful enough to keep these NIL deals. And so,
- 32:35Speaker 1: you know, at this point, I think the NCUBLE kind
- 32:37Speaker 1: of has its hands behind us back, and you know,
- 32:40Speaker 1: we're only going to see these NIL shoots grow unless
- 32:43Speaker 1: conferences come together. You know, the n SEC in the
- 32:46Speaker 1: Big Ten decide, hey, we're going to do this. We're
- 32:49Speaker 1: going to set these laws ourselves. We don't care what
- 32:51Speaker 1: the rest of the nc DOUBLE is doing, but we're
- 32:53Speaker 1: gonna make these laws just for a SEC teams, just
- 32:56Speaker 1: for Big Ten teams. And you know, dat spurs further
- 32:59Speaker 1: points of what people have been saying the future of
- 33:01Speaker 1: college football is, which is just the SEC in the
- 33:04Speaker 1: Big Ten separating away from the NC Double A, and
- 33:07Speaker 1: I think that may be the spur of all of this.
- 33:09Speaker 1: And same question about the portal again new ish, but
- 33:14Speaker 1: I feel like there have got to be some sort
- 33:17Speaker 1: of rules, especially when it comes to poaching. We saw
- 33:20Speaker 1: the you know, some of the guys that were in
- 33:22Speaker 1: the tournament saying we're already being poached and we're still
- 33:24Speaker 1: playing in the NCAA tournament. You know, do you see
- 33:27Speaker 1: the NC DOUBLEA or any governing body stepping in and
- 33:30Speaker 1: making any new rules about the portal. I think the
- 33:32Speaker 1: transfer portal is one area where that the NCAA actually can,
- 33:36Speaker 1: you know, make some changes for the better, because on
- 33:38Speaker 1: the whole, I think the transfer portal has been a
- 33:40Speaker 1: really great thing overall for both football and basketball, and
- 33:44Speaker 1: especially for the players as well. We've seen already that,
- 33:48Speaker 1: you know, football, they have these transfer windows now which
- 33:50Speaker 1: weren't there before. So you have a couple of weeks
- 33:52Speaker 1: after the season ends, and we're gonna have the transfer
- 33:54Speaker 1: portal open back up here in a few weeks after
- 33:56Speaker 1: spring practice ends. You know that that organizes it a
- 34:01Speaker 1: little bit as far as the tampering goes. I don't
- 34:03Speaker 1: know how that you're going to settle that issue, because
- 34:06Speaker 1: if you know, next to even wants a player that's
- 34:08Speaker 1: on a lower level college football team, he's probably going
- 34:11Speaker 1: to get the word out to him. You know, that
- 34:13Speaker 1: guy probably wants to hear from Alabama himself. You know.
- 34:16Speaker 1: Final question, final final question. I've already asked the final
- 34:18Speaker 1: best in the final final is a double final? If
- 34:21Speaker 1: you were stock marketing these SEC football teams, I assume
- 34:25Speaker 1: you're a Bulldog fan. I'm not. I know where you live.
- 34:27Speaker 1: Are you a big Georgia fan? You know? Actually not.
- 34:29Speaker 1: I graduated from a Florida state, so I'm a seminal
- 34:32Speaker 1: fan at part. I try to be as impartial as possible.
- 34:36Speaker 1: One comes to FSU. It's a little tough. You guys
- 34:38Speaker 1: should come to the SEC too, like you guys in
- 34:40Speaker 1: Clemsons should both just come over and join the fine,
- 34:42Speaker 1: don't you agree? You your mouth to God's ears. I
- 34:45Speaker 1: have that happen. So if you were good, then you're
- 34:47Speaker 1: not into a team stock market up? What SEC team
- 34:51Speaker 1: do you look at and go? Man? If I were
- 34:53Speaker 1: buying right now, that will be the one I would
- 34:54Speaker 1: jump into. You know, I really like LSU you know,
- 34:57Speaker 1: I value bringing back starting quarter backs. LSU's bringing back
- 35:01Speaker 1: a pretty good one. They've got another really good one
- 35:03Speaker 1: waiting in the wings. And I think, you know, as
- 35:05Speaker 1: much as we all make fun of coach Kelly down there,
- 35:08Speaker 1: I think he's a great college football coach. And you know,
- 35:11Speaker 1: I think Elsie's going to be a problem for a
- 35:13Speaker 1: lot of teams. Um, you know, Georgia, I don't think
- 35:18Speaker 1: i'd buy stock and Georgia's because their stock price is
- 35:20Speaker 1: probably more than I could afford right now. But but
- 35:24Speaker 1: you know, ls here is the team that I'm eyeing,
- 35:26Speaker 1: and you know, with Texas joining the STECC you know,
- 35:31Speaker 1: I think the amount of money that they're throwing into
- 35:33Speaker 1: that Texas program, it's almost going to be impossible for
- 35:36Speaker 1: them not to be good coming up here in the
- 35:38Speaker 1: next few years. I'm gonna start market up South Carolina
- 35:41Speaker 1: and beemer what they're doing over there, and just in
- 35:43Speaker 1: every way, it's just positive, positive, positive. They're getting recruits.
- 35:46Speaker 1: I don't think they're going to national championship next year.
- 35:48Speaker 1: But you know, that's a stock that doesn't cause a
- 35:50Speaker 1: whole lot that i'd buy right now because it just
- 35:53Speaker 1: is continuously exactly how they ended their season. Not many
- 35:58Speaker 1: teams ended as a press of a season that South
- 36:00Speaker 1: Carolina did. I cursed Clemson. That's why they lost. I
- 36:02Speaker 1: got on the air and I cursed Clemson, and that's
- 36:04Speaker 1: why Clemson lost South Carolina. Okay, final part of the
- 36:07Speaker 1: same question, who do you sell? Because stock's going down.
- 36:12Speaker 1: I'm doing a lot of bad vibes out of Gamesville
- 36:14Speaker 1: right now. You know, the the Skaters programming, you know,
- 36:17Speaker 1: a starter with their disastrous recruiting pitch to their quarterback.
- 36:21Speaker 1: They lost their you know, big time recruit you know,
- 36:24Speaker 1: they lost a lot of guys that were gonna be
- 36:26Speaker 1: you know, starters or potential starters for them to the
- 36:29Speaker 1: transfer portal, you know. And Napr you know, I think
- 36:32Speaker 1: he hasn't shown, you know, to be a really bad
- 36:35Speaker 1: coach in my mind, but I'm not sold on him
- 36:38Speaker 1: being able to build the Florida program into what the
- 36:40Speaker 1: fans expect. And if you're not building a media championship
- 36:44Speaker 1: roster for those Florida fans, they are going to get
- 36:46Speaker 1: you pretty quick. And I sell Tennessee because they hate him,
- 36:49Speaker 1: that's all. I just don't want to my portfolio. I
- 36:51Speaker 1: just don't want over and so get rid of it. Okay, listen, everybody,
- 36:53Speaker 1: you guys follow on Twitter and TikTok the corner Blitz
- 36:57Speaker 1: Houston does great work. I'm telling you, if a hardcore
- 37:00Speaker 1: sports fan or just a novice like he does the
- 37:03Speaker 1: kind of stuff that's entertaining and interesting and really gets
- 37:06Speaker 1: into the weeds on some of this stuff. So go
- 37:08Speaker 1: follow the corner Blitz Houston man, keep doing what you do.
- 37:11Speaker 1: I love having you on and we'll talk to you
- 37:13Speaker 1: again soon. I appreciate it. Yeah, I always love talking
- 37:15Speaker 1: to you. All Right, there is thanks to Houston. Love
- 37:20Speaker 1: that dude. I'm sure we'll get him on the next
- 37:21Speaker 1: couple of months. Again. Reminder the twenty five whistles brought
- 37:24Speaker 1: you by Draft King sports Book. Download the Draft King zapp,
- 37:27Speaker 1: use the code Bobby sports and get in on the action. Listen,
- 37:31Speaker 1: it's playoff basketball now and we're gonna talk about just
- 37:35Speaker 1: the playoffs are set in the playing games. Finally that West.
- 37:37Speaker 1: We just had to get that in some sort of
- 37:39Speaker 1: condition to even understand what's going on. But it's there.
- 37:42Speaker 1: But here we go to the playing games. Hawks and
- 37:44Speaker 1: Heat Heat minus five. Boy. NBA games to me are
- 37:49Speaker 1: like NFL games as then I never really know. I'm
- 37:52Speaker 1: just kind of throwing a dart at a board on
- 37:55Speaker 1: NBA games or NFL games. And when I do really know,
- 37:57Speaker 1: that's when I really don't know. When I remember about it,
- 38:00Speaker 1: I'm like, oh, yeah, the Colts, for sure, we're gonna
- 38:01Speaker 1: go Colts by forty. So let me just pick one
- 38:05Speaker 1: of these games that I feel good about it. So
- 38:07Speaker 1: Hawks at Heat Heat minus five, Timberwolves at Lakers, Lakers
- 38:12Speaker 1: or six and a half point favorites. I would just
- 38:16Speaker 1: take a Laker's money line. They're all pretty big spreads, five,
- 38:20Speaker 1: six and a half, five and five. I would go
- 38:22Speaker 1: Lakers and Heat money line and leave it at that.
- 38:23Speaker 1: You're gonna make a ton of money on that, Yeah,
- 38:26Speaker 1: but you're gonna lose either. Don't listen to me for
- 38:27Speaker 1: NBA game betting. Just don't. I tell you. I'm I'm
- 38:31Speaker 1: really good at college football. I'm probably average at NFL
- 38:38Speaker 1: NBA below average because I have an NBA Sunday ticket.
- 38:41Speaker 1: You know that's right, Well, it's not called that, that's
- 38:44Speaker 1: called league pass. I call an NBA Sunday ticket. U
- 38:47Speaker 1: Bulls at Raptors, Raptors five point favorite, Thunder at Pelicans
- 38:51Speaker 1: Pelicans five point favorite. I'll like the thunder win the game.
- 38:54Speaker 1: I'd like to thunder get in if you want to
- 38:57Speaker 1: take twenty five whistles parla, which we'd put up what
- 38:59Speaker 1: you're not doing today because I'm not gonna give you
- 39:01Speaker 1: something that confident. We're not gonna give you one of those.
- 39:03Speaker 1: But if they have all kinds of parlays, easy bets
- 39:06Speaker 1: for you. New users used the code Bobby Sports when
- 39:08Speaker 1: we download the app twenty one and up A most
- 39:09Speaker 1: eligible states, but age varies by jurisdiction. Eligibility restrictions apply
- 39:14Speaker 1: if you have gambling problem one hundred gambler in New
- 39:16Speaker 1: York called eight seven seven eight Hope and Why or
- 39:18Speaker 1: text hope and Why four six seven three six nine
- 39:20Speaker 1: See show notes four full to tells how are you feeling?
- 39:23Speaker 1: I think we're good. Okay, So we had in the
- 39:25Speaker 1: top ten. So we had in top ten Scheffler, Where
- 39:28Speaker 1: did you finish ten? Okay? So far one for one?
- 39:31Speaker 1: Baby who's top twenty top twenty was jt Okay, that
- 39:35Speaker 1: was Eddie. That was Eddie who puts Cheffler in at ten?
- 39:38Speaker 1: You four? We went off of who do we talk
- 39:41Speaker 1: to you? Last? Week. Oh that was Roddick. Yes, Cheffler
- 39:45Speaker 1: in the top ten. So he hit Jessin Thomas, justin
- 39:48Speaker 1: Thomas top twenty to not hit Eddie. I know. I
- 39:51Speaker 1: can't really say anything though, because Jason Day top thirty,
- 39:54Speaker 1: tied for thirty ninth, Kevin, I know. And then mine
- 39:58Speaker 1: was speed right speed top four. He finished four. Hey, hey,
- 40:01Speaker 1: nailed now and did not babies. Yeah yeah, yeah, we
- 40:04Speaker 1: didn't hit that. We blame Eddie, right, yeah, you kind
- 40:06Speaker 1: of sucked too. But when you said yours, I was like,
- 40:09Speaker 1: Jason Day, huh. But then when I was watching Day
- 40:12Speaker 1: stay top of leaderboard, I was like, look at Kevin,
- 40:15Speaker 1: he knows. Oh he watched that thing. Good bomb. I'm
- 40:19Speaker 1: out of there. NBA Playoffs they start tomorrow night, unless
- 40:24Speaker 1: you're listening to this on Tuesday. Then they start tonight.
- 40:27Speaker 1: The Bucks of the Favorite twenty at all plus two
- 40:28Speaker 1: sixty five, the Celtics at plus three twenty, the Sons
- 40:31Speaker 1: of plus four fifty, and the Sixers and Warriors a
- 40:35Speaker 1: plus nine fifty. Might take some of that sixer's action
- 40:39Speaker 1: for plus nine fifty if they're gonna win it. But
- 40:43Speaker 1: I'm just playing the odds here. Plus nine fifty for
- 40:46Speaker 1: the sixers. Why are you looking at me like that.
- 40:48Speaker 1: I was gonna well, then you said maybe not to
- 40:51Speaker 1: win it, because that's like you really trust them be
- 40:52Speaker 1: But I would take them to win it. But just
- 40:55Speaker 1: because the odds are I feel like a plus nine fifty,
- 40:57Speaker 1: that's a good bet to make that if you were
- 40:59Speaker 1: to bet at ten times, one out of those ten
- 41:02Speaker 1: times it hits. I agree. I mean the odds are great.
- 41:06Speaker 1: And also you could bet it and they get to
- 41:08Speaker 1: the finals. You can just well, they got to get
- 41:10Speaker 1: through obviously, Milwaukee, Boston, maybe both, maybe just one, maybe
- 41:15Speaker 1: none if they don't play them and they lose first round.
- 41:17Speaker 1: But if they can just get to the finals, cash out, baby,
- 41:21Speaker 1: take your money. Cash out. You know, I gotta win
- 41:24Speaker 1: at all. Yeah, that's true. But the East is gonna
- 41:26Speaker 1: be hard. I don't know. But Phoenix is gonna be
- 41:28Speaker 1: tough too. I mean, it's probably gonna be Phoenix in Boston, right,
- 41:32Speaker 1: I'd love to see that. I know, you're a big
- 41:33Speaker 1: Celtics guy. Yeah, I love it. Or I mean they
- 41:35Speaker 1: could be Phoenix and Milwaukee Golden State though, but I
- 41:40Speaker 1: don't know. Tuesday playing games Hawks at heat winner plays
- 41:45Speaker 1: the Celtics. Loser plays the winner of the Bulls and Raptors,
- 41:49Speaker 1: which is another one of those playing games. So if
- 41:51Speaker 1: you win it, you're in. Winner plays the Celtics. Congratulations,
- 41:55Speaker 1: you just won the Is this the playoffs? By the way,
- 41:57Speaker 1: is the play in the playoffs? I say yeah, it
- 42:00Speaker 1: is too. It's the postseason. Yeah. And people say that
- 42:03Speaker 1: the in the NCAA tournament the round of sixty eight,
- 42:05Speaker 1: they call that the NC douba A tournament. Those games
- 42:07Speaker 1: to get you in the sixty four. So this is
- 42:09Speaker 1: the playoffs. Yeah. Some people say the ruly the playoffs.
- 42:13Speaker 1: I mean, if you can lose and go home, I
- 42:14Speaker 1: consider it the playoffs. And do they say that to
- 42:17Speaker 1: the two eleven seeds that are playing in the round
- 42:18Speaker 1: of sixty eight, that's not the NC doable A tournament.
- 42:20Speaker 1: Yes it is. You're in the tournament, and if you win,
- 42:22Speaker 1: you're already bracking it up against the person that's coming up. Yeah.
- 42:24Speaker 1: So I'm gonna say it is the playoffs. Hawks and
- 42:27Speaker 1: Heat winner plays the Celtics, timber Wolves and Lakers winner
- 42:32Speaker 1: plays Memphis. I think if the Lakers win this, I
- 42:38Speaker 1: think they could beat Memphis. I do I know you're
- 42:43Speaker 1: not a believer. You're sealing them on, like what second round?
- 42:45Speaker 1: Second round? So I do think they could beat Memphis.
- 42:48Speaker 1: The only thing is, I don't know if they can
- 42:49Speaker 1: hang with them night tonight. They don't have to athleticism
- 42:52Speaker 1: and there's a couple. Yeah, but I would I'd be
- 42:56Speaker 1: surprised if they beat them. No, I wouldn't. Well, that's
- 42:59Speaker 1: that's we hate answers like that because it gives you
- 43:01Speaker 1: a yes and and now. And if I had a shock,
- 43:04Speaker 1: if I were able to take it like a little
- 43:05Speaker 1: shock caller and strap it to you guys as testicles
- 43:07Speaker 1: anytime you did something, anytime you did something, I was like,
- 43:10Speaker 1: that's not cool. Shock you on that one. Yes, because
- 43:12Speaker 1: that's the poser alert. Can't do that for fun testicle shocking. Yeah,
- 43:16Speaker 1: you do your own, Okay, let us know. Yeah, get
- 43:18Speaker 1: back to this. So, yeah, Tuesday night, those are the
- 43:20Speaker 1: games there at Wednesday night Bulls at Raptors, and you
- 43:23Speaker 1: gotta win this to go up, not into the playoffs,
- 43:26Speaker 1: but to play the loser that came down from the
- 43:28Speaker 1: other game. Loser gets eliminated and then nine thirty Eastern
- 43:33Speaker 1: subby thirty Central Thunder at Pelicans. Let's go Thunder. Yeah,
- 43:38Speaker 1: that'll be fun. Roll well, Garth, I saw that the
- 43:43Speaker 1: average age of the Thunder was like twenty one and
- 43:46Speaker 1: a half. So young, it's like the youngest NBA team.
- 43:51Speaker 1: All Right, here we go, Seatings, Calves and Knicks will
- 43:54Speaker 1: play first round. I'm going I'm going with Calves there,
- 44:00Speaker 1: but barely see me a fun one. I agree, Sixers
- 44:05Speaker 1: and Nets. The Nets are playing so good. If they
- 44:10Speaker 1: beat Philly in round one, that's trouble for everybody that
- 44:16Speaker 1: wears a Sixers uniform, including Doc Rivers may wearing uniform,
- 44:20Speaker 1: but he's over there next to people wearing uniforms. Absolutely,
- 44:23Speaker 1: But the Nets have been playing so I mean, they've
- 44:25Speaker 1: been so good consistently ever since Kyrie left. Yeah, but
- 44:29Speaker 1: I'm still gonna go with the seventy sixers. So I
- 44:31Speaker 1: got Calves, Sixers, Celtics are gonna beat the heat Hawks winner,
- 44:35Speaker 1: and the Bucks are gonna beat whoever wins out of
- 44:37Speaker 1: the play playing game. Western Conference Suns and Clippers. That's
- 44:43Speaker 1: gonna be a Sons when they're as long as Kadi
- 44:48Speaker 1: is healthy enough to make people think he's healthy because
- 44:53Speaker 1: he gets so much attention that in order for them
- 44:57Speaker 1: to stop the Suns consistently. They're gonna stop Katie if
- 44:59Speaker 1: he's sealthy or they think he's healthy. They you have
- 45:02Speaker 1: to give him that attention, which opens it up and
- 45:05Speaker 1: leave so much space for everybody else. Yeah, including Booker,
- 45:10Speaker 1: Kings and Warriors. That sucks for the Kings. Said this
- 45:14Speaker 1: a couple of weeks ago. It sucks for the Kings.
- 45:17Speaker 1: They're finally in. They're a three seed and they got
- 45:19Speaker 1: to play the Warriors that are only a six because
- 45:21Speaker 1: they've had a lot of their guys out all year.
- 45:24Speaker 1: The Grizzlies will play the winner of the Lakers and Pelicans.
- 45:26Speaker 1: If it's the Lakers, I'm taking the Lakers over the
- 45:28Speaker 1: two seed, and the Nuggets will play the winner of
- 45:31Speaker 1: the final playing game. So there you go. It's fun though.
- 45:36Speaker 1: It's fun because Lebron's back in love him or hate him.
- 45:39Speaker 1: Lebron brings eyeballs. It's fun that Golden State is a
- 45:44Speaker 1: sixth seed. It's fun to see the Kings have such
- 45:48Speaker 1: a high seed. So it's a little credibility to those
- 45:51Speaker 1: guys because that was such a losing I was just
- 45:55Speaker 1: they were just Loserville, man. Everything about him a Loserville. Yeah,
- 45:59Speaker 1: you're going too the arena wall. I'm Louise vill population
- 46:00Speaker 1: five on our side. I mean it was a bad,
- 46:03Speaker 1: bad situation, so super excited to see that. On the East,
- 46:08Speaker 1: you got what you expect. Janis obviously the Celtics, who
- 46:14Speaker 1: have two superstars, the Sixers. This probably the final go
- 46:23Speaker 1: at it unless they go at it. I can't see
- 46:26Speaker 1: Hardens staying if they fail flame out. I can't see
- 46:29Speaker 1: Doctor Rivers being kept if they fall around one. I
- 46:33Speaker 1: saw harden Is in the playoffs for the fourteenth straight time.
- 46:37Speaker 1: Fourteen doesn't even seem like he's been around that long.
- 46:39Speaker 1: I mean, it seems like he's been around a love
- 46:41Speaker 1: wild but wow, you know, speaking of the playoffs, I
- 46:44Speaker 1: do see now where the NBA's investigating the Mavericks for
- 46:47Speaker 1: sitting folks and then also pulling Luca like first quarter,
- 46:51Speaker 1: early second Yeah, right at the first quarter. I'm cool
- 46:57Speaker 1: with teams tanking. It's strategy. Competition has as much strategy
- 47:02Speaker 1: as it is anything else. Now, if it we're an
- 47:04Speaker 1: owner who was tanking, or an owner was doing something
- 47:07Speaker 1: getting bad players because he didn't want to pay, that's
- 47:09Speaker 1: one thing to me, because you're not giving your fans
- 47:12Speaker 1: a fair chance. But if you feel like for your fans,
- 47:14Speaker 1: the most fair chance at a championship is getting a
- 47:16Speaker 1: better draft pick, and you're gonna take You're gonna go
- 47:18Speaker 1: full lucky charms. Then I get it. Now, let me
- 47:21Speaker 1: tell you about lucky charms. When I am a lucky charms,
- 47:23Speaker 1: ate all the oats first, ate the marshmallows second, so
- 47:25Speaker 1: I could have my prize at the end. Some people
- 47:27Speaker 1: take the spoon and they have balance in their life.
- 47:30Speaker 1: They take the spoon, They go oats marshmallows all together.
- 47:33Speaker 1: Not me. I will suffer through the oats and at
- 47:36Speaker 1: the end have all marshmallows and it is a little
- 47:38Speaker 1: too sweet sometimes, yes, but that's okay. But I'll go
- 47:41Speaker 1: full oats a little bit of mark for a little
- 47:44Speaker 1: bit of marshmallows that are all clumped together at the
- 47:46Speaker 1: very end. And if you're a basketball team, or you're
- 47:49Speaker 1: a football team, or you're a base not really baseball
- 47:53Speaker 1: is a drafts different situation there. But if they want
- 47:56Speaker 1: to lose in order to have a strategic advantage to
- 47:59Speaker 1: get better fast, I got no problem with that, especially
- 48:02Speaker 1: if there are no real roles against it. What they've
- 48:04Speaker 1: tried to do to stop tanking is make it all
- 48:06Speaker 1: percentage based, so if you're the number one losing team,
- 48:09Speaker 1: you dont automatically gets the first pick. It's all percentage based. Well,
- 48:11Speaker 1: you got a twelve percent chance you got it. And
- 48:13Speaker 1: so to other teams who didn't finish as bad as you.
- 48:16Speaker 1: What happened was Harry Rban didn't play, Hardaway Junior didn't play,
- 48:23Speaker 1: Josh Green didn't play, Christian Wood didn't play. All these
- 48:26Speaker 1: people are playing on Friday, Luca goes in, and you
- 48:30Speaker 1: know why, I think he went in. I don't know
- 48:32Speaker 1: it's for sure, but where is he from? Whatever it was,
- 48:36Speaker 1: they were having like an appreciation for like the people
- 48:38Speaker 1: like his his folks. Yeah, they came from that country.
- 48:42Speaker 1: I think that's what it was like about Slovenia appreciation night.
- 48:46Speaker 1: I'm not kidding. Looked at up to make sure I'm
- 48:48Speaker 1: not crazy. It was some sort of appreciation night. I
- 48:51Speaker 1: think the only reason he played, and then he came
- 48:53Speaker 1: out of the game. And so had they won that game,
- 48:58Speaker 1: they would have been in as the ten playing for
- 49:02Speaker 1: that spot to get that eight. You're correct, the second
- 49:05Speaker 1: annual it was that's the only reason he played. Wow,
- 49:09Speaker 1: So what are they gonna do they're not gonna win.
- 49:12Speaker 1: So let's say they get the ten. Let's say they
- 49:14Speaker 1: win the play in to get to the eight. All
- 49:17Speaker 1: they're doing is making their draft pick worse. They're not
- 49:20Speaker 1: gonna win the title, So I'm totally down. I'm good
- 49:24Speaker 1: as long as your team isn't trying to cut budget
- 49:28Speaker 1: so the owner doesn't have to pay. Cuban, you know,
- 49:30Speaker 1: wants to win, no doubt about it. Whenever they missed
- 49:34Speaker 1: that shot at them the game because Dallas had a
- 49:36Speaker 1: chance to win at the end of the game off
- 49:37Speaker 1: the side of the backboard, and then you see Cuban
- 49:38Speaker 1: his hands are in his head. You're like, bro, you're
- 49:41Speaker 1: just covering your face because you're smiling exactly, face sad, exactly. Yeah,
- 49:45Speaker 1: I have no problem with tanking if it's if it's strategy.
- 49:50Speaker 1: We all every game we play, we have some sort
- 49:51Speaker 1: of strategy with it. This is part of it. The
- 49:55Speaker 1: Rudy Gobert Kyle Anderson I don't know finger quotes fight
- 49:58Speaker 1: was hilarious, especially now that you know what they said.
- 50:02Speaker 1: Because if I feel like Kyle Anderson said to Rudy Gobert,
- 50:09Speaker 1: block some shots. They said some bad words. Trying to
- 50:11Speaker 1: remember this because I don't think I have it down.
- 50:14Speaker 1: And then Kyle Anderson said to Rudy Gobert and the
- 50:18Speaker 1: word the b words on around, why don't you get
- 50:21Speaker 1: a rebound? And then Gobert, who's ninety four ft tall,
- 50:26Speaker 1: long swing who adam him in the shoulder. But they
- 50:29Speaker 1: sent Gobert home like a kid who got in trouble.
- 50:31Speaker 1: I know, kid, we got in trouble at recess fighting
- 50:34Speaker 1: with somebody. Time to go home. Great, Kyle Anderson stayed
- 50:38Speaker 1: in the game. Gobert apologized. He even put up to
- 50:43Speaker 1: the picture of Umu who got in the fight with
- 50:50Speaker 1: the Warriors. M Raymond, Yeah, Draymond and Jordan Pool Pool. Yes,
- 50:54Speaker 1: he put the picture of Draymond anyway, I don't know
- 50:59Speaker 1: about Timberwolves. Did you also see Jade McDaniels, the other
- 51:02Speaker 1: guy that he had He left the game where he
- 51:04Speaker 1: got pushed or in the locker room and he punched
- 51:07Speaker 1: something broke. He broke his hand. That's right. Oh, that's
- 51:11Speaker 1: a disaster. What a day. The Warriors sitting ANYBA record
- 51:14Speaker 1: fifty five points in the first quarter versus the Blazers.
- 51:16Speaker 1: They won one fifty eight one oh one. Clay Thompson
- 51:18Speaker 1: dropped five three pointers in the first five minutes of
- 51:20Speaker 1: the game. He had twenty points in twenty two minutes.
- 51:24Speaker 1: Thompson joined Curry and Harden as the only players did
- 51:26Speaker 1: three hundred plus three pointers in a single season. That's
- 51:29Speaker 1: pretty awesome. They have the sixth seed, Warrior, so no
- 51:32Speaker 1: play in game. Can they come out of the West?
- 51:36Speaker 1: Yes or no? Yeah, I'll always say yes to them.
- 51:39Speaker 1: I think if they because obviously you have to win
- 51:41Speaker 1: your first round. But I think what actually is advantageous
- 51:43Speaker 1: to them is they're playing a really good team first.
- 51:47Speaker 1: So if they win this round, they're not having to
- 51:50Speaker 1: pop up and play the one. They'll have to play
- 51:52Speaker 1: the two because one, four, two. But still before that
- 51:58Speaker 1: you're going to eight. So one, eight, two, seven, three,
- 52:02Speaker 1: six right four five. If they beat that three, they're
- 52:06Speaker 1: basically the three. Then they would play the two. So
- 52:10Speaker 1: that means counted down with me from the West, one
- 52:13Speaker 1: is Denver, So they're not playing Denver. No, They're gonna
- 52:17Speaker 1: play the two, which will be either Memphis or the Lakers.
- 52:21Speaker 1: But if they should say Lakers, but let's say they
- 52:25Speaker 1: play the Lakers or Memphis, I would much rather play
- 52:27Speaker 1: the Lakers or Memphis. Than Denver or the Suns. If
- 52:31Speaker 1: they win the first round. I think they got a
- 52:33Speaker 1: better second round draw. I don't know, but it also
- 52:37Speaker 1: depends on who the Lakers. You heard what I said, Lakers? Hey,
- 52:40Speaker 1: all right, I'll in on the Lakers. Hear what I said?
- 52:43Speaker 1: Tyree Hill says it. We retired after his contract ends.
- 52:45Speaker 1: And that's always easy to say when you're in a
- 52:46Speaker 1: new contract. I've done this myself a few times. I'm
- 52:49Speaker 1: not a big deal here. I'm out after this one. Yeah,
- 52:52Speaker 1: about three fourths of the way through. You got a lifestyle.
- 52:54Speaker 1: You also got some things you want to build. You
- 52:56Speaker 1: want to it ain't so easy. He says he's planning
- 53:00Speaker 1: to retire at the end of his deal. He says
- 53:03Speaker 1: twenty twenty five final season. Thing is though, he's also
- 53:07Speaker 1: thirty one years old, so he'll be thirty four thirty
- 53:09Speaker 1: five or so he'll beat thirty one. Oh is that it? Yeah,
- 53:12Speaker 1: he's only I know. Oh, he's not retiring. Mark it down.
- 53:16Speaker 1: Put this in the notes of my predictions. Yeah, he
- 53:19Speaker 1: won't retire. It'd be too young. Yeah. ODB signing a
- 53:22Speaker 1: one year deal with the Ravens, which, so does that
- 53:24Speaker 1: mean that Lamar's coming back. Are they close? Is that
- 53:27Speaker 1: what you see? I saw a FaceTime of those two talking. Yeah,
- 53:29Speaker 1: and then they rode the club last night together. Right,
- 53:31Speaker 1: So everything about that says that Lamar should be coming back,
- 53:35Speaker 1: and they got him to make Lamar happy because they're
- 53:38Speaker 1: not giving Lamar exactly what Lamar wants, but they're going
- 53:40Speaker 1: to still really make them feel real special by overpaying
- 53:42Speaker 1: for OBJ Well, fifteen million guaranteed. I thought i'd be
- 53:47Speaker 1: eleven or twelve. I think I said that here. I
- 53:49Speaker 1: did not think they'd give him twenty. But it's worth
- 53:51Speaker 1: up to eighteen million with the centives, but fifteen million guaranteed.
- 53:55Speaker 1: The Ravens had been in contact with you know, ob
- 54:00Speaker 1: ob J since last year. I think, ODB, maybe I
- 54:03Speaker 1: got your money since ob J since last year. Yeah, um,
- 54:09Speaker 1: but he just hasn't played. I mean, he's been hurt,
- 54:12Speaker 1: but so as Lamar. Maybe that's what they bond. They
- 54:14Speaker 1: go to the same physical trader. They just hung out
- 54:17Speaker 1: physical therapy and they're like, hey, but hey, why are
- 54:19Speaker 1: you here? Me too? We should be on the same team.
- 54:24Speaker 1: The pitch clocks made a big impact on dead time
- 54:26Speaker 1: in baseball games. I saw one game Win an hour
- 54:28Speaker 1: and like fifty minutes. Yeah, it was like a one
- 54:31Speaker 1: oh game or two one game. I'm I'm sure which
- 54:33Speaker 1: one was. It was win an hour and fifty minutes.
- 54:35Speaker 1: That's what I'm talking about. I saw Air the movie
- 54:38Speaker 1: a bout an hour and fifty minutes. Wow, it's awesome.
- 54:42Speaker 1: It was great, by the way, Yeah, freaking amazing, amazing
- 54:47Speaker 1: if you're a sports person or you it's like the
- 54:50Speaker 1: history of Nike basically, although Mike didn't you think they
- 54:53Speaker 1: made Phil Knight kind of dopey, very dope, really cheesy,
- 54:58Speaker 1: like if that's really I feel Night is And I'm
- 55:00Speaker 1: sure there's something to it because Ben Affleck's Night is
- 55:02Speaker 1: gonna because the movie wasn't really cheesy. No, just his
- 55:05Speaker 1: character was him going for a run coming back? Yeah,
- 55:08Speaker 1: just Phil Knights seemed like a real, like dopey kind
- 55:11Speaker 1: of dude. Really, I'm sure brilliant in his own ways
- 55:15Speaker 1: because you don't build that. But it was just a
- 55:16Speaker 1: running shoe company. They didn't have any basketball players that
- 55:18Speaker 1: were any good. I'm not gonna spoil it, but the
- 55:22Speaker 1: guy they end up getting ends up being a pretty
- 55:24Speaker 1: good basketball player. Really. Yeah, I wonder who it is Yeah.
- 55:27Speaker 1: I want to tell y'all. Okay, I give you a
- 55:30Speaker 1: hey bore number twenty three. Oh, I don't don't say it.
- 55:33Speaker 1: Don't spoil it, don't spoil it. But yeah, the pitchclock
- 55:36Speaker 1: man's been been crushing as far as games are ending
- 55:40Speaker 1: a little quicker and the league batting average is up.
- 55:43Speaker 1: And that's what you want. Quicker games, more action. If
- 55:45Speaker 1: you can get them both at the same time, that's amazing.
- 55:48Speaker 1: League batting average is almost two fifty this year. It
- 55:50Speaker 1: was two thirty two at this point last year. More steals.
- 55:55Speaker 1: Eighty one percent of the steel attempts have been successful.
- 55:58Speaker 1: Let's go. We won't runs on the board this morning,
- 56:01Speaker 1: the quarterback here in the NFL. Because we're scoring points,
- 56:03Speaker 1: we won't runs. The average time of a baseball game
- 56:06Speaker 1: is down twenty five minutes. Across the board. The average
- 56:09Speaker 1: linked of ball games is two and a half hours.
- 56:11Speaker 1: There have been only four games this season that have
- 56:13Speaker 1: exceeded last season's average, So only four that exceeded the
- 56:18Speaker 1: average of last year. Hey, here we go, Marlins and Twins.
- 56:21Speaker 1: One oh our fifty seven minutes. Boom, sign me up.
- 56:25Speaker 1: That is it, and that is it for this show.
- 56:28Speaker 1: Thanks Tuston, Barbara for coming on. Thanks to Read, who's
- 56:31Speaker 1: now running our video since Eddie is out. So Need's
- 56:33Speaker 1: trying to do two things. I'm like, Read, what do
- 56:34Speaker 1: you think it's like, Well, I don't that's him Metham
- 56:39Speaker 1: with the cameras and two at the same time, he's
- 56:41Speaker 1: learning read. How is your day? It was incredible? Yeah,
- 56:44Speaker 1: it was good. I got back super late last night,
- 56:47Speaker 1: but I got some good rest and finished some work
- 56:50Speaker 1: this morning and here we go. Yeah, I kind of
- 56:53Speaker 1: how's your day here on the show, but I like
- 56:54Speaker 1: to give me the whole Easter weekend? Good where'd you go? Freestar?
- 56:57Speaker 1: I went back home to Arkansas. So the family um
- 57:01Speaker 1: ate some good food. You know, well most families, you know,
- 57:03Speaker 1: usually cooked, but my family we ordered Mexican food. But
- 57:07Speaker 1: it was it was incredible. It was good. Well Mike's
- 57:10Speaker 1: family also had Mexican. Yeah, we just call it food then. Yeah,
- 57:14Speaker 1: it's just like it is what it is. Final thought, Kevin,
- 57:18Speaker 1: mine is gonna be on a note. We don't talk
- 57:19Speaker 1: about hockey. We haven't yet. But I'm not a huge
- 57:22Speaker 1: hockey guy. Hockey Yeah, me either, but you know, these
- 57:25Speaker 1: bruins just at the NFL record yesterday they won sixty
- 57:28Speaker 1: three games. I've seen him play a couple times. I
- 57:30Speaker 1: saw him here against the Preds. In person. I don't
- 57:33Speaker 1: know a lot about hockey, but they are damn good
- 57:35Speaker 1: and they're fun to watch. I will watch in the
- 57:37Speaker 1: playoffs I usually do every year, and then especially them
- 57:39Speaker 1: being good, it's gonna be fun. Yeah. I know nothing
- 57:41Speaker 1: about hockey. I went to Man a couple of games,
- 57:43Speaker 1: but I've really live been to want to watch the
- 57:44Speaker 1: actual hockey because I want I want on the broadcast.
- 57:47Speaker 1: Once I was like a commentator for here, and I
- 57:50Speaker 1: don't know crap about hockey, so I wasn't calling any
- 57:53Speaker 1: of the game. But I went to a game I
- 57:56Speaker 1: watched maybe like Game six and Stanley Cup Finals. It
- 57:59Speaker 1: was rereads here in Nashville and the Pittsburgh Penguin that
- 58:02Speaker 1: we got beat and it was ugly, and I was like,
- 58:04Speaker 1: all right, that doesn't for me. I'm out here. We're
- 58:06Speaker 1: checking out on this one. It's funny go in person, though,
- 58:08Speaker 1: I do want to say too. My final thought was
- 58:11Speaker 1: I'd just like to compliment anybody that has anything to
- 58:14Speaker 1: do with the coverage of the Masters, because I could
- 58:16Speaker 1: basically watch any hole I could if I just put
- 58:19Speaker 1: in a little effort follow almost any golfer I wanted,
- 58:22Speaker 1: but just knowing where they were on the course, because
- 58:25Speaker 1: on the ESPN side of things, they would have a
- 58:27Speaker 1: mint corner, they'd have whole three, four or five six,
- 58:30Speaker 1: they'd have specific groups with specific It was just easy.
- 58:35Speaker 1: I have YouTube TV. It's kind of my main TV
- 58:37Speaker 1: spot two so right beside each other with Golf Channel ESPN.
- 58:43Speaker 1: The coverage was awesome for an event that's so old
- 58:47Speaker 1: and it's all tradition, and it's like Fogie Central, Like
- 58:50Speaker 1: they're really like progressive on making sure we can see
- 58:54Speaker 1: the whole thing. It's pretty cool. So I shout them out.
- 58:56Speaker 1: That's my final thought. I loved that. I love the Masters.
- 58:58Speaker 1: I think it's so much fun. Glad to see Tiger
- 59:01Speaker 1: makes cuts, sad to see him hurt his foot or
- 59:03Speaker 1: just not want to play anymore. It was raining. I
- 59:04Speaker 1: felt that too. I was lumping around two when it
- 59:06Speaker 1: was raining. Yeah. I tried to pull out of our
- 59:07Speaker 1: game with Eddie and I out of the course of
- 59:09Speaker 1: his muddy and he was like, you can't. You can't quit, dude,
- 59:10Speaker 1: you can't. Withdrawal didn't work. It wasn't a tournament, and secondly,
- 59:14Speaker 1: just get the car and go home. I was like, oh,
- 59:15Speaker 1: I should probably within draw. It's like read you have
- 59:18Speaker 1: final thought. Uh yeah, So I'm gonna skip all the
- 59:21Speaker 1: way to this coming up weekend. It's gonna be my
- 59:24Speaker 1: birthday weekend. So I'm gonna try to play a little
- 59:26Speaker 1: golf and get back to swinging my baby clubs before
- 59:30Speaker 1: I ordered the new ones because I played this last
- 59:32Speaker 1: weekend and I don't know. I don't know if I'll
- 59:35Speaker 1: psyching myself out because I knew that I needed longer clubs. Now,
- 59:39Speaker 1: I'll tall are you six? I say six two? You
- 59:42Speaker 1: said sixty three. He's sixty sixty three at least. I
- 59:44Speaker 1: mean he slouches, so that may make him six two,
- 59:46Speaker 1: but he's six three, as he tried to straighten up. Yeah,
- 59:49Speaker 1: I'm bad about it. I'm bad, but I'll take it. Yeah,
- 59:51Speaker 1: well you guys, thank you. Follow twenty five whistles on
- 59:54Speaker 1: Instagram and we will and I'll TikTok right read absolutely yeah,
- 59:57Speaker 1: I read runs us and We're done. We're done. Blow
