- 0:00Speaker 1: The Force will be with you always. Hello, everyone's back
- 0:19Speaker 1: to another episode of Star Wars Lights your Home on
- 0:22Speaker 1: the Geek Ultimate Lined Podcast. Now we're friendly and all
- 0:25Speaker 1: the things of Star Wars. I'm your host, Katie, and
- 0:27Speaker 1: with me like always is Clay. And for once, we
- 0:31Speaker 1: hate go live at seven o'clock on the Dot.
- 0:35Speaker 2: Yeah, it's it's been a while since we've done that.
- 0:41Speaker 1: Y'all have the life of young parents. It's the nice
- 0:46Speaker 1: and people who have been sick ridiculously. If you have
- 0:49Speaker 1: not listen to our other episode yet, which I don't
- 0:54Speaker 1: blame you if you have not, but we apologize for
- 0:57Speaker 1: not being here last week.
- 0:59Speaker 2: Clay.
- 1:00Speaker 1: Clay was sick for once, not me.
- 1:02Speaker 2: Yes, yes, it does in fact happen sometimes, not all
- 1:06Speaker 2: the time. But yeah, it's been going around my entire
- 1:12Speaker 2: office so like everybody has the sniffles, everybody is coughing.
- 1:17Speaker 2: It's absolutely disgusting. But I am here, I am feeling better,
- 1:24Speaker 2: and we will eventually get back into that rotation of
- 1:29Speaker 2: comics that we were supposed to be reviewing.
- 1:31Speaker 1: So yes, but Clay, I just need to let you
- 1:37Speaker 1: know that theories is spelled wrong.
- 1:40Speaker 2: Ah really, I was doing it like super quick see
- 1:45Speaker 2: I spelled it correctly on the actual live which is
- 1:50Speaker 2: totally fine. Yes, and I can actually just swap this
- 1:53Speaker 2: out really.
- 1:57Speaker 1: Greg is in the chat. Hello Greg, Hello, Hello, says
- 2:01Speaker 1: he feels for us. His daughter starts college this year.
- 2:04Speaker 1: Holy cramp. It's been a while, like five years. We
- 2:10Speaker 1: realized that last night. It has been five years of
- 2:13Speaker 1: the GUA. Guys. Yeah, and I kind of was podcasting
- 2:20Speaker 1: before the GUA, but like not really, but this has
- 2:23Speaker 1: been five years of me podcasting consistently, so very very nice,
- 2:31Speaker 1: big milestone for me at least. But guys, we are here,
- 2:36Speaker 1: We're going to be talking about some news from the
- 2:40Speaker 1: past two weeks. We have a big one and then
- 2:43Speaker 1: we have some small ones, and then we're gonna kind
- 2:47Speaker 1: of be going through all of the different and or
- 2:50Speaker 1: season two theories and like interviews that have come up,
- 2:54Speaker 1: like in particular Tony Gilroy being like canon, what's canon?
- 3:00Speaker 1: And K two s all the stuff around.
- 3:06Speaker 2: Yeah, just to give you some small highlights of what
- 3:10Speaker 2: we will be talking about in regards to canon, which
- 3:14Speaker 2: actually kind of got me a little fired up, as
- 3:18Speaker 2: as far as like shaking my fist at Tony Gilroy.
- 3:23Speaker 2: There's a huge debate on the K two s O
- 3:27Speaker 2: and like whether we should have gotten it or not.
- 3:31Speaker 2: There's also one regarding mod Mathma and the speech and
- 3:37Speaker 2: how in regards to like rebels and how that works
- 3:40Speaker 2: into canon and everything else. But yeah, very interesting reads.
- 3:47Speaker 1: But Katie and just for where because we didn't like
- 3:54Speaker 1: talk about these actively throughout the sixth because again, three
- 3:57Speaker 1: episodes a lot to talk about out in one show.
- 4:03Speaker 1: So we are pulling like summaries of these interviews from
- 4:07Speaker 1: sites like Star Wars News Net and Utini as well
- 4:10Speaker 1: as Collider, so they have really great summaries on all
- 4:16Speaker 1: the topics involved, guys. So if you're looking for written
- 4:19Speaker 1: synopsis is that's where to go. But first things first, Clay,
- 4:24Speaker 1: where do you want to go with news?
- 4:27Speaker 2: I think, uh, we should probably go in the sequential
- 4:34Speaker 2: order of how we received them. So looking at the
- 4:38Speaker 2: uh actual Star Wars Alliance chat, I see that the
- 4:43Speaker 2: Mia Goth Maya Goth Miya Miya Maya. I think it's
- 4:46Speaker 2: Mia mia Goth news. This was actually announced on the
- 4:55Speaker 2: six though it's like almost two weeks since we I've
- 5:00Speaker 2: gotten this news. But Mia Goth has been cast in
- 5:03Speaker 2: Sean Levy's Star Wars Starfighter movie alongside Ryan Goslin. Now,
- 5:10Speaker 2: from what I understand, this is the.
- 5:18Speaker 1: I think it's the villain.
- 5:19Speaker 2: It's the villain role that the other uh actress from
- 5:30Speaker 2: that one really controversial movie that came out this year
- 5:33Speaker 2: or last year. I can't remember which one had turned
- 5:36Speaker 2: Aura one, yes, Anora, yeah, I believe she had turned
- 5:41Speaker 2: it down. And so now Mia Gough has the role.
- 5:46Speaker 1: Guy hate Snyder so much I clicked his link in
- 5:49Speaker 1: the post. I will never click another one, because dude,
- 5:53Speaker 1: what the fuck?
- 5:54Speaker 3: Like, I want to see the details. You're publishing this wide,
- 6:00Speaker 3: Like at least with the Daniel Daniel J stuff whatever
- 6:06Speaker 3: his name is, RpK Daniel RpK uh, Like, at least
- 6:11Speaker 3: with his stuff. He's like, Oh, I have a Star
- 6:13Speaker 3: Wars scoop here for you guys, and then like post
- 6:16Speaker 3: the Star Wars scoop in the sneak peeks, don't post
- 6:20Speaker 3: the title, and then go, oh, if you want the details,
- 6:24Speaker 3: like you've got to. Yeah, that's simple.
- 6:29Speaker 2: It's it's kind of scummy, to be completely honest. It's
- 6:33Speaker 2: just how things are nowadays.
- 6:36Speaker 1: It's descriptions. Yay. Oh, I feel like this gift of
- 6:43Speaker 1: mi a Goth below the discussing film one, and it's
- 6:48Speaker 1: just like.
- 6:50Speaker 2: Like, no, yeah, yeah, yeah, but overall this mhm, I
- 6:58Speaker 2: have I personally have not really been following Mia Goth's
- 7:07Speaker 2: Hollywood career. From what everybody else has been saying, this
- 7:16Speaker 2: is a really good get. Yes, I am not entirely
- 7:26Speaker 2: sure how I'm going to feel about it, and I'm
- 7:32Speaker 2: not entirely sure if because of the type of movies
- 7:36Speaker 2: she has been so far from what I have heard,
- 7:39Speaker 2: I'm not entirely sure how I feel about going into
- 7:42Speaker 2: her Hollywood library and being like, Oh, let me see
- 7:47Speaker 2: what kind of character actor she is for when she
- 7:52Speaker 2: does eventually come into Star Wars, you know. Yeah, but
- 7:56Speaker 2: that's just me.
- 7:58Speaker 1: I have definitely not seen anything. I've heard really good
- 8:01Speaker 1: things about the ex franchise with ex Pearl, and I
- 8:06Speaker 1: think vaccine is also a part of that. Or no,
- 8:10Speaker 1: Pearl is not a part of that, No it is.
- 8:12Speaker 1: I'm kidfieves. Anyways, Yeah, I've not seen any of her
- 8:16Speaker 1: stuff because once I got pregnant, I fell way off
- 8:19Speaker 1: on the movie train. So I'll be interested to see
- 8:23Speaker 1: what happens. I A lot of people have praised her performance. Uh,
- 8:29Speaker 1: so I'm excited to see what happens. I definitely hope
- 8:32Speaker 1: she's a character, like a big character. So yeah, probably
- 8:38Speaker 1: the first thing it looks like i'll see her in
- 8:42Speaker 1: is Diamo del Toro's uh Frankenstein.
- 8:45Speaker 2: So oh that's true. Yeah, I forget that she was
- 8:49Speaker 2: going to be in that movie.
- 8:50Speaker 1: Yeah, because Oscar Isaac is in that one as well,
- 8:54Speaker 1: and I'm really excited about that. So uh yeah, it'll
- 8:59Speaker 1: be interesting to see what happened.
- 9:02Speaker 2: All right. And then after that, I believe the next
- 9:08Speaker 2: thing up on our list is two new comic new comics. Yes,
- 9:18Speaker 2: you posted this yesterday. I had seen like a small
- 9:23Speaker 2: glimpse of this, and I was like, you know what,
- 9:25Speaker 2: we're probably gonna talk about it on the show, So
- 9:27Speaker 2: I'm going to just be surprised. So Katie, enlighten me.
- 9:33Speaker 2: What are these two comics going to be about?
- 9:37Speaker 1: So the Black, lat White, and Red. I would call
- 9:42Speaker 1: this a franchise at this point because this is just
- 9:44Speaker 1: something that Marvel does typically, I feel like with some
- 9:48Speaker 1: of like the villains or like the most bloody gory
- 9:51Speaker 1: of characters.
- 9:53Speaker 2: Yea.
- 9:55Speaker 1: So we've had Darth Vader and then Darth Maul for
- 10:00Speaker 1: this series. So now we're getting a bulb of fet
- 10:03Speaker 1: comic and it looks like this is coming out in September,
- 10:09Speaker 1: and I got that off of Star Wars explains Instagram page,
- 10:15Speaker 1: and it looks like it kind of is just maybe
- 10:19Speaker 1: what is it? The solicits for September are just out because.
- 10:24Speaker 2: They they do come out this week. Of course it
- 10:31Speaker 2: is my job, so the July for August solicits uh
- 10:39Speaker 2: will be live this week Marvel usually does. There's Thursday
- 10:46Speaker 2: or Friday. I can't remember exactly off the top of
- 10:49Speaker 2: my head, but this does look pretty exciting. Like you said,
- 10:56Speaker 2: it is a little bit of a franchise. There has
- 11:00Speaker 2: been a lot of black, white and reds that have
- 11:06Speaker 2: come out in the last five years. Like you said,
- 11:09Speaker 2: we've gotten Darth Vader, We've gotten Darth Maul. Dynamite has
- 11:13Speaker 2: done it with Red Sonia, d C has done it
- 11:16Speaker 2: with Harley Quinn. It is a very popular thing, and
- 11:20Speaker 2: I do believe there is even one regarding either aliens
- 11:25Speaker 2: or predators. I can't remember which one it was, but
- 11:29Speaker 2: it has become a much bigger thing recently, and I
- 11:34Speaker 2: think it is a very easy money grab for these
- 11:37Speaker 2: for these companies, you know, Yeah, it's it's you know,
- 11:44Speaker 2: good artistic visuals with quote unquote less work on the colors,
- 11:53Speaker 2: because I mean, either way, it is still an art form.
- 11:57Speaker 2: And I'm not gonna say that, oh it's so easy,
- 11:59Speaker 2: becau because it's not. It's it's art. But I am
- 12:03Speaker 2: going to enjoy this a lot. First issue is going
- 12:07Speaker 2: to be written by Benjamin Percy with art by Chris Allen,
- 12:11Speaker 2: and the cover is by Alex Malieve. Benjamin Percy. Uh
- 12:16Speaker 2: oh that was another one. Uh. Wolverine also had a black,
- 12:21Speaker 2: white and red. Yeah. Benjamin Percy is very famous for
- 12:25Speaker 2: writing uh Wolverine ghostwriter. He's even done some night Wing stuff.
- 12:35Speaker 2: I really enjoy his writing style. It's gonna be very
- 12:38Speaker 2: interesting to see how he takes his style and uh
- 12:45Speaker 2: implements it with bubble fat.
- 12:47Speaker 1: Yeah, because I think this is the first time he's
- 12:50Speaker 1: written anything for Star Wars, so it'll be good to
- 12:54Speaker 1: see new blood in Stars for sure. It's probably not
- 13:01Speaker 1: something that I'll check out immediately because like I got
- 13:04Speaker 1: the Darth Vader one, uh, thinking it was the trade
- 13:07Speaker 1: and instead I got a Treasury edition and I'm like, okay,
- 13:13Speaker 1: now it's like I haven't picked up the Darth Maul
- 13:16Speaker 1: one because I don't want to buy a Treasury edition.
- 13:18Speaker 1: I wanted to fit on my freaking shelf. Like, So, yeah,
- 13:24Speaker 1: we'll see what happens, but this will probably be one
- 13:26Speaker 1: that I get later on when I can verify the
- 13:29Speaker 1: size and store myself. So the other comic that uh
- 13:35Speaker 1: is due to come out in September. This one is
- 13:38Speaker 1: out September third, and it is also a Marvel comics.
- 13:42Speaker 1: This one is Han Solo Hunt for the Falcon, and
- 13:47Speaker 1: we're getting old Han Solo, we got white haired Solo.
- 13:53Speaker 2: I dig this a little bit.
- 14:00Speaker 1: Little bit.
- 14:01Speaker 2: Yes, Hunt for the Falcon is the is the title
- 14:09Speaker 2: the subtitle. I don't know how I feel about, like, hm,
- 14:18Speaker 2: you know it. I feel like I'm about to kind
- 14:21Speaker 2: of contradict a little bit of what I said in
- 14:25Speaker 2: our Trials of the Jedi review, which is also out
- 14:31Speaker 2: by the time podcasters are listening to this. If you
- 14:34Speaker 2: are subscribed to our Patreon right now on Wednesday, you
- 14:38Speaker 2: can listen to it now. But I just with the
- 14:44Speaker 2: way these are coming out sequentially, you know, it's just
- 14:51Speaker 2: something that's a little bit of a pet peeve of mine.
- 14:54Speaker 2: Of course, they thought about this story after the fact,
- 14:57Speaker 2: and so it doesn't really line up too much with
- 15:03Speaker 2: how Han was acting in Force Awakens, you know, in
- 15:11Speaker 2: the sense of like, I don't remember anything, and it's
- 15:14Speaker 2: actually been a little bit since I've watched Force Awakens,
- 15:18Speaker 2: But uh, I don't remember him making any comments about
- 15:27Speaker 2: actively searching excuse me for the falcon and that first
- 15:33Speaker 2: like fifteen twenty minutes of seeing Han in the movie.
- 15:36Speaker 1: You know, all right, y'all, we're gonna hit our first
- 15:38Speaker 1: ad break and we will be right back in three
- 15:41Speaker 1: two one. I don't remember. I know he makes comments
- 15:48Speaker 1: because he no, I think he does make them within
- 15:51Speaker 1: the first fifteen twenty minutes of his appearance, because he
- 15:55Speaker 1: specifically goes, I've been looking all over for like I
- 15:59Speaker 1: thought it was gone, And Ray's like, oh, this guy
- 16:02Speaker 1: had it on Jack Who. And He's like, I never
- 16:05Speaker 1: thought to check Jack Who.
- 16:07Speaker 2: Like, huh again, I think I'm gonna have to watch
- 16:13Speaker 2: Force Awakens pretty soon. Okay, well, if that's the case,
- 16:19Speaker 2: then foot into mouth and we can move forward. But Katie,
- 16:24Speaker 2: how do you feel about uh, this book? It is
- 16:28Speaker 2: going to be written by Rodney Barnes, which is somebody
- 16:32Speaker 2: who I'm not familiar with, and art by Roman Rosannas.
- 16:42Speaker 1: Ramon Rosanas is how I would pronounce it, But I
- 16:45Speaker 1: don't know. I'm super excited for this. I've heard really
- 16:51Speaker 1: good things just with the announcement of this about Rosana's
- 16:54Speaker 1: artwork and that they've done really good things, So that
- 17:00Speaker 1: makes me excited. And I'm also really down for this,
- 17:03Speaker 1: getting more sequel trilogy content on stuff to fill out
- 17:08Speaker 1: the trilogy that I like. Every movie they don't really
- 17:13Speaker 1: flow together, like I've said that, but stuff to make
- 17:18Speaker 1: things work, filling in those gaps I think will do
- 17:22Speaker 1: really a lot of wonders. It sounds like this also
- 17:28Speaker 1: might be the story of Han leaving Leyah uh h,
- 17:36Speaker 1: like their separation, because he says, in the time before
- 17:39Speaker 1: the Force awakens, where's the millennium Falcon? Less than satisfied
- 17:43Speaker 1: with a settled life. And I don't think if he
- 17:47Speaker 1: had left Leah that they would say, oh, he's living
- 17:51Speaker 1: a settled life currently. Yeah, so Han Sola lands on
- 17:57Speaker 1: the idea of reclaiming the falcon and returning to a
- 18:00Speaker 1: life of adventure. The problem is he can't find it.
- 18:05Speaker 1: So I'm super excited about this. How do you feel
- 18:08Speaker 1: about it?
- 18:10Speaker 2: I I am ready to dive back into the sequel series.
- 18:22Speaker 2: Like Greg says here, the sequel trilogy content depth will
- 18:27Speaker 2: make it better if it makes sense. Think about what
- 18:29Speaker 2: the prequels did for the original trilogy. I am always
- 18:38Speaker 2: on the side of expanding the story more so than oh,
- 18:49Speaker 2: we need to get these characters back together, you know,
- 18:51Speaker 2: and and you know, for Nostal's just sake, and this
- 18:55Speaker 2: is gonna be so cool, Like if the story is
- 19:01Speaker 2: worth it, I am one hundred percent down for it.
- 19:07Speaker 2: That being said, I do want to know because that
- 19:14Speaker 2: is a lingering thing. Yeah, of course you can connect
- 19:16Speaker 2: some dots. You can say like, oh, yeah, you know,
- 19:19Speaker 2: Son going to the dark side. That could cause a
- 19:21Speaker 2: lot of you know, marital problems. But I do want
- 19:27Speaker 2: to see more of the real emotion between Leah and Han.
- 19:37Speaker 1: Yeah. The Princess in the Scoundrel did such a great
- 19:40Speaker 1: job expanding on that emotion and making them feel like
- 19:45Speaker 1: a true couple that I just love it so much,
- 19:51Speaker 1: and like you just want to see that continue, like
- 19:54Speaker 1: you want to continue to build out the relationship that
- 19:56Speaker 1: we all know exists. Chewbacca will be making an appearance.
- 20:03Speaker 1: Apparently he is less than enthusiastic about me endeavor, but
- 20:10Speaker 1: we also get to see Duquine because Ducaine is the
- 20:13Speaker 1: one who stole it according to Han, and the force awakens,
- 20:17Speaker 1: so it'll be exciting. This is out September third, like
- 20:22Speaker 1: I said, distributory, so we'll see what happens. But this
- 20:29Speaker 1: looks to be very promising. Ronnie Barnes also did the
- 20:34Speaker 1: Mandalorian season one adaptation, so to see him get a
- 20:38Speaker 1: new story, it's really cool going back to Bulba Fett
- 20:44Speaker 1: Red White and Black. Greg said, isn't it funny that
- 20:48Speaker 1: all with all the new stuff, we keep going back
- 20:50Speaker 1: to the old grades Vader, mal and fed. I'll always
- 20:53Speaker 1: love it, but someone it. I'll always love it, but
- 20:56Speaker 1: let's get some Reven and Baine, maybe a little more
- 20:59Speaker 1: thron That's a juicy game. I can completely agree with Thrian.
- 21:03Speaker 1: Reven and Band haven't been fleshed out yet enough to
- 21:06Speaker 1: where I would say, oh yeah, let's do a red,
- 21:08Speaker 1: white and black on it, Like I think Stella and
- 21:12Speaker 1: I talked about this a while back when Darth Vader,
- 21:15Speaker 1: Red White and Black was announced. But basically, this Red
- 21:18Speaker 1: White and Black is basically like, hey, we can't come
- 21:20Speaker 1: up with any your original story ideas, so let's go
- 21:23Speaker 1: back to what we know works, but in a different vein.
- 21:27Speaker 1: So I would love to see some different content. I
- 21:32Speaker 1: think thron is probably I don't I don't think he's
- 21:38Speaker 1: probably off limits. I know he's off limits because of
- 21:42Speaker 1: Ahsoca season two, So I don't think we will see
- 21:47Speaker 1: any thrown book or comic material unless it's related to Ahsoka,
- 21:54Speaker 1: because like we got the Ahsoca season one adaptation, so uh.
- 22:01Speaker 1: And he said this universe is so rich with already
- 22:03Speaker 1: written stuff that average frands don't know about. Can completely agree,
- 22:08Speaker 1: but I feel like most people who are reading the
- 22:10Speaker 1: comics are going to have act are going to have
- 22:13Speaker 1: knowledge about that legends material that doesn't exist. So yeah,
- 22:18Speaker 1: all right, I think that brings us to the end
- 22:21Speaker 1: of the news.
- 22:24Speaker 2: Yes, that is the end, And so we will move
- 22:30Speaker 2: on to our main topic, which is and Or season
- 22:34Speaker 2: two theories and interviews. And we've kind of touched up
- 22:42Speaker 2: on the theory thing. I think it is worth exploring
- 22:45Speaker 2: again because there was a conversation between Gilroy and Diego
- 22:53Speaker 2: Luna in regards to the last scene of season two,
- 22:57Speaker 2: so we will touch up on that. But the one
- 23:01Speaker 2: that a lot of people have been talking about, which
- 23:04Speaker 2: I would like to bring up first. Even at the
- 23:08Speaker 2: time of reviewing and Or season two, Andrew advid listener
- 23:17Speaker 2: and sometimes is here on YouTube when we are live.
- 23:22Speaker 2: He asked the question regarding this, and we're like, hey,
- 23:25Speaker 2: we're gonna do an episode on this, you know, just
- 23:28Speaker 2: come back when when we're doing this episode. So, in
- 23:32Speaker 2: an earlier version of and Or season two, K two
- 23:36Speaker 2: SOO was introduced tearing through a ship in a sequence
- 23:39Speaker 2: reminiscent of both the Alien and Predator movie franchises. Instead,
- 23:45Speaker 2: the final scripts incorporated Imperial k X units into the
- 23:50Speaker 2: Gorman massacre sequence. So I haven't really seen any like
- 24:00Speaker 2: actual footage of Gilroy saying this, Uh so, I don't
- 24:05Speaker 2: know what the extent of the actual scene is other
- 24:10Speaker 2: than K twos. So literally, like it said here, tearing
- 24:14Speaker 2: through the whole of a ship. How do you feel
- 24:20Speaker 2: because a lot of people are like, oh man, we
- 24:21Speaker 2: could have gotten like horror movie Star Wars. You know.
- 24:25Speaker 1: I remember reading the interview with Tony Gilroy on that comment,
- 24:32Speaker 1: and it kind of goes into his thoughts on integrating
- 24:38Speaker 1: with Canon because a long time ago, when Rogue one
- 24:42Speaker 1: came out, Disney was really big into Okay, we're gonna
- 24:45Speaker 1: have publishing where to have comics that kind of relate
- 24:49Speaker 1: to what's going on, And so there were several one
- 24:52Speaker 1: shots related to wrote one one in particular, how did
- 24:58Speaker 1: cassiean and Or and K two sl meet and clearly
- 25:03Speaker 1: what we got in season two disagrees with that comic.
- 25:07Speaker 2: Yes, uh there is uh an I actually have it here.
- 25:16Speaker 2: I had made this comment to everybody at the Geek
- 25:22Speaker 2: First Discord when we were talking about this, because Travis
- 25:30Speaker 2: shared the comment from Gilroy saying basically, like, you know,
- 25:38Speaker 2: f that dude for making that comic on my character.
- 25:42Speaker 2: Blah blah blah blah blah, which I think is a
- 25:48Speaker 2: little ridiculous within itself.
- 25:52Speaker 1: Because you know who greens light that stuff. Lucasfilm.
- 25:55Speaker 2: It's Lucasfilm. Yeah, Like sorry, dude, Like I understand, and
- 26:00Speaker 2: you are a big shot, you know, in making movies,
- 26:06Speaker 2: but when you create a character in a IP that
- 26:12Speaker 2: is much larger than yourself, you get the same treatment
- 26:17Speaker 2: as every other creator in comics. Hey, this is ours.
- 26:22Speaker 2: You don't get residuals for any of this because we
- 26:25Speaker 2: own it. That's just how it is. That's how it is.
- 26:28Speaker 1: And at the end of the day Lucas goes to
- 26:32Speaker 1: everyone we've talked with Tom from Random House Worlds. They
- 26:40Speaker 1: have story ideas and then they go to the author.
- 26:43Speaker 1: They go, Okay, I think this author would be really
- 26:45Speaker 1: good for this, and they go to the author and
- 26:47Speaker 1: they pitch it to them and they say yes or no. Like,
- 26:51Speaker 1: so this is not Hey, an author comes, like an
- 26:55Speaker 1: author may come, but it has to get approved by Lucasfilm.
- 27:00Speaker 1: Well you should have a problem with Lucasfilm and not
- 27:03Speaker 1: the author of that creation.
- 27:06Speaker 2: Yep, like.
- 27:08Speaker 1: Point blank, point blank.
- 27:13Speaker 2: And so when it comes to the actual idea of
- 27:19Speaker 2: the oh reminiscent of Aliens and reminiscent of Predator, I
- 27:24Speaker 2: think that is a really cool concept. I think that
- 27:28Speaker 2: it is something that is worth exploring in some sort
- 27:34Speaker 2: of capacity in the future. But like, we cannot, guys,
- 27:42Speaker 2: we absolutely cannot, because it just hurts my brain when
- 27:46Speaker 2: people do this with fandoms. We cannot what if this
- 27:50Speaker 2: to death correct, because you are basically just throwing away
- 27:57Speaker 2: the masterpiece, that is the final product that we all
- 28:01Speaker 2: gushed over for a whole month.
- 28:07Speaker 1: And if you keep up with a what if fantasy,
- 28:11Speaker 1: you will never actually be satisfied by what's in front
- 28:14Speaker 1: of we can have. I mean we talked about it.
- 28:17Speaker 1: With Trials of the Jedi. We both had expectations, Oh
- 28:21Speaker 1: my gosh going into Trials of the Jedi. Yes, but
- 28:27Speaker 1: you have to kind of set those aside at the
- 28:29Speaker 1: end of the day and go, Okay, now this is
- 28:32Speaker 1: what I got. How do I feel about this, instead
- 28:35Speaker 1: of going, well, what if we had that? What if
- 28:37Speaker 1: we had that? That doesn't make anybody happy. You will
- 28:40Speaker 1: never be happy with that excuse by hiccups, guys, Oh
- 28:44Speaker 1: my godness. So I think a horror like that horror
- 28:52Speaker 1: element with K twos so could have been fun, and
- 28:56Speaker 1: it probably fit very well in the five season plan
- 29:02Speaker 1: that was originally done for and Or. Yeah, but when
- 29:06Speaker 1: you only have twenty four episodes to tell five years
- 29:10Speaker 1: worth the story, you do have to cut things at
- 29:13Speaker 1: the end of the day. And I think ultimately, well,
- 29:16Speaker 1: I would have liked K twos so to come in sooner.
- 29:20Speaker 1: I think it makes sense where he came in, and
- 29:25Speaker 1: at the end of the day I liked what we got. No.
- 29:29Speaker 2: Yeah, I think it played very well with the of
- 29:33Speaker 2: course theme of the Gorman massacre and like it has
- 29:41Speaker 2: this weird like kind of nuance of like I get
- 29:49Speaker 2: to take the enemy weapon and make it my own,
- 29:55Speaker 2: which I think is clever in some sense. So I
- 29:58Speaker 2: do like that. So, yeah, we've discussed the idea of
- 30:05Speaker 2: genres in Star Wars. We got a little bit of
- 30:08Speaker 2: that with Skeleton Crew and with how this legitimate legitimized
- 30:20Speaker 2: the idea of like a political drama genre within Star Wars.
- 30:27Speaker 2: I think that there is like hope for a horror
- 30:35Speaker 2: Star Wars in the future.
- 30:37Speaker 1: Correct, Yes, we're gonna go into our second ad break
- 30:42Speaker 1: and we'll be right back going back to what you
- 30:47Speaker 1: had said about Tony Gilroy with Cannon and talking about
- 30:50Speaker 1: Star Wars rebels and all this other stuff. So I
- 30:53Speaker 1: have the direct quote in front of me. So he says,
- 30:56Speaker 1: there are certain things in canon that we are beholden
- 30:59Speaker 1: to and that are really great opportunities for us. The
- 31:05Speaker 1: massacre at Gorman is a big opportunity. Everybody knows that
- 31:10Speaker 1: myn Mathma leaves the Senate because Gorman. At the same time,
- 31:14Speaker 1: there isn't a single thing written about Gorman. Gorman's a
- 31:17Speaker 1: blank slate. There's no consistency between what legends says about it.
- 31:22Speaker 1: And they're a lot of ugh oh my gosh, sorry, guys,
- 31:27Speaker 1: and a lot of conflicts within the canon itself. The
- 31:30Speaker 1: highlights of the Star Wars canon are on the calendar,
- 31:34Speaker 1: but after ten years, we've invented vastly more cannon than
- 31:38Speaker 1: we've ever had to it here too, talking about the
- 31:41Speaker 1: differences between what Rope one had and what you have
- 31:44Speaker 1: now with Andrew season two. So we honor the calendar
- 31:48Speaker 1: and we've made our choices. Some are sneaky, some are bold,
- 31:52Speaker 1: some are right in your face. Everybody at Lucasfilm knows
- 31:55Speaker 1: what we've been doing. We haven't had any arguments. We've
- 31:59Speaker 1: straightened some stuff out.
- 32:00Speaker 2: I help.
- 32:03Speaker 1: I do have an issue with what he says about
- 32:06Speaker 1: Legends here because I feel like saying there's no consistency
- 32:12Speaker 1: between what Legend says about it. Okay, but there doesn't
- 32:16Speaker 1: have to be consistency. You can pick and choose what
- 32:19Speaker 1: you want from Legends. That's the beauty of having material
- 32:22Speaker 1: to choose from, but also saying, hey, we're choosing to
- 32:26Speaker 1: ignore that and that is Legends material, but you can
- 32:30Speaker 1: bring it in if you want. I have a lot
- 32:34Speaker 1: of issues with that statement personally. What do you think
- 32:37Speaker 1: about it?
- 32:43Speaker 2: I So I'll tell you this. I have a lot
- 32:47Speaker 2: of bad things to say about Tony Gilroy only because
- 32:53Speaker 2: he is like a I raise my nose that you, sir,
- 32:56Speaker 2: because I know film like I hate that kind of thinking.
- 33:04Speaker 2: And I'm gonna go ahead and say it, s now
- 33:06Speaker 2: you got a little bit of it too. And what
- 33:08Speaker 2: you do, sorry, Bud, you know you do. But like
- 33:12Speaker 2: there's these moments that he also says about like the
- 33:15Speaker 2: cheesiness of like how the original Star Wars was and
- 33:21Speaker 2: all these other things, and it's like, oh, well, you know,
- 33:24Speaker 2: we're not gonna do the cheesy We're gonna do real movies.
- 33:26Speaker 2: It's just like you're making a movie about Star Wars,
- 33:30Speaker 2: you know that, right? Like, And I think sometimes I
- 33:35Speaker 2: think people forget the plot, like they forget the whole
- 33:40Speaker 2: reason why we're here, you know. And I do think
- 33:44Speaker 2: that Gilroy is a little lost in the sauce when
- 33:47Speaker 2: he makes these types of comments. He he is the
- 33:55Speaker 2: I'm not gonna say he's the exception to the rule,
- 33:58Speaker 2: because yes, and Or is a beautiful series. I think
- 34:02Speaker 2: and Or is exactly what Star Wars needed in a
- 34:11Speaker 2: like in such a weird time where like even that
- 34:17Speaker 2: of like Obi One had people criticizing it when we
- 34:24Speaker 2: legitimately thought, oh, this is gonna be a home run,
- 34:26Speaker 2: like it's it's obi wan kenobi. You know. Star Wars
- 34:30Speaker 2: Live Action had not been hitting the hardest, so for
- 34:37Speaker 2: Indoor Season two to make as much noise as it did,
- 34:43Speaker 2: it's a good thing. Yeah, it's one thing. But I
- 34:49Speaker 2: just have issues with the way Tony Gilroy just has
- 34:57Speaker 2: like these these like like it's the same thing that
- 35:04Speaker 2: I have this issue with people who write DC and
- 35:09Speaker 2: Marvel too, is they're like, Oh, that's just not how
- 35:13Speaker 2: my Superman would do it, or that's not how my
- 35:16Speaker 2: Spider Man would do it, And I'm like, dude, Spider
- 35:19Speaker 2: Man was literally created decades before you were even born,
- 35:24Speaker 2: so like.
- 35:25Speaker 1: There's always something that needs to kind of go hand
- 35:29Speaker 1: in hand with Spider Man, with Luke Skywalker.
- 35:32Speaker 2: Like yeah, yeah, things you do have to make.
- 35:36Speaker 1: Sense for the bones of the character. And I think
- 35:43Speaker 1: while I do have issues with what Tony Girouy has
- 35:45Speaker 1: said in some ways, I do think what he's done
- 35:49Speaker 1: for Star Wars is immeasurable when it comes down to it,
- 35:53Speaker 1: because he's expanded the genre so much. And yes, I'm
- 35:57Speaker 1: calling Star Wars genre because yeah, like why not. So
- 36:03Speaker 1: I do think he's done a lot of really good things.
- 36:07Speaker 1: I do think at some points his take on okay, well,
- 36:14Speaker 1: I don't really want to pay attention to Cannon. In
- 36:18Speaker 1: some ways that's refreshing because then we have people like
- 36:22Speaker 1: Dave Filoni who's like, I'm gonna bend Canon to the
- 36:25Speaker 1: best of my abilities to get everything I want. Yeah,
- 36:30Speaker 1: in this, whereas Tony Gilroer was like, yeah, like I
- 36:33Speaker 1: like showing the hist dream moments of it, but like
- 36:36Speaker 1: everything else like screw at Like.
- 36:38Speaker 2: Yeah, like because there's even this comment here that he
- 36:41Speaker 2: was making about mon month of speech, right, he had
- 36:44Speaker 2: a lot to say about the speech about how uh
- 36:48Speaker 2: you know, the really sad part about her speech is
- 36:50Speaker 2: like you could literally throw her speech anywhere in the
- 36:54Speaker 2: past six thousand years of world history and somebody would
- 37:00Speaker 2: feel some sort of emotions like she's talking about their time.
- 37:05Speaker 2: And he says here in regards to season three episode
- 37:13Speaker 2: Secret Cargo of Rebels, he says, we are hijacking Cannon.
- 37:19Speaker 2: In Cannon, she's rescued by the Gold Squadron, and the
- 37:22Speaker 2: speech that they give in the cartoon, which was a
- 37:26Speaker 2: canontical show, is on that ship and Danny's like in
- 37:33Speaker 2: Danny Gilroy, his brother said, do I really have to
- 37:38Speaker 2: stick with this fucking speech? Like yeah, like I it's
- 37:45Speaker 2: comments like this that I'm just like guys, like I
- 37:52Speaker 2: get it. I understand there's this mentality of like, you know,
- 37:57Speaker 2: I raise my nose at you. I could do a
- 37:59Speaker 2: lot better than this, but this is the source material
- 38:04Speaker 2: that you're creating your show off of. Yeah, you know,
- 38:08Speaker 2: I'm not saying that her speech wasn't amazing in and
- 38:11Speaker 2: Or I would never say that, but it's just really
- 38:18Speaker 2: hard to give them an inch when they take a
- 38:26Speaker 2: mile in this direction.
- 38:30Speaker 1: Yeah, And I feel like I've got that quote in
- 38:32Speaker 1: front of me now, and I just feel like maybe
- 38:38Speaker 1: that didn't need to be set because what you did
- 38:41Speaker 1: still made it work. You literally say, hey, the rebellion
- 38:46Speaker 1: wants her to make another speech, and like make sure
- 38:49Speaker 1: it's broadcast far and wide. Like everything they did in
- 38:55Speaker 1: that episode fit with what's in Cannon completely. Yeah, Like
- 39:01Speaker 1: so yes, you had to respect it, but you didn't
- 39:05Speaker 1: have to stick to that speech for what she gives
- 39:08Speaker 1: because you were able to give her another speech that's
- 39:11Speaker 1: like directed to the Senate and like corussigned basically yeah, so.
- 39:19Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, it just makes me feel a certain way
- 39:24Speaker 2: that I'm just like, like, I appreciate what you did
- 39:26Speaker 2: for Star Wars with the and or, but that's that's
- 39:30Speaker 2: kind of all I'm giving you.
- 39:32Speaker 1: Yeah, Like, because they're like, in a really sneaky way,
- 39:35Speaker 1: we're minimizing what they did in Star Wars Rebels, but
- 39:37Speaker 1: we're keeping it consistent. Yes you did, but you didn't
- 39:41Speaker 1: minimize Star Wars Rebels like Star Wars Rebels. Is it
- 39:47Speaker 1: boiled down for kids? Because at the end of the day,
- 39:51Speaker 1: it premiered on Disney Xidy, which is four kids. Like,
- 39:57Speaker 1: you made an adult version of what happened in Star
- 40:01Speaker 1: Wars Rebels.
- 40:03Speaker 2: Why is that so.
- 40:04Speaker 1: Hard to just say, yeah, we took what was in
- 40:07Speaker 1: the kids show and it made it for adults.
- 40:11Speaker 2: Like it shouldn't be hard to say, but I like
- 40:17Speaker 2: I and we have said this many of times. You
- 40:24Speaker 2: do not have to punch down at the art form
- 40:28Speaker 2: that is animation just because you like live action films.
- 40:37Speaker 2: Animation is just as much of an art form as
- 40:43Speaker 2: live action movies or live action TV shows. Yeah, so,
- 40:48Speaker 2: like making these types of comments doesn't help, especially also
- 40:56Speaker 2: before and or people's opinions on animation was Oh, this
- 41:03Speaker 2: is the best Star Wars that we have.
- 41:07Speaker 1: Yep.
- 41:08Speaker 2: So like, I'm sorry, it's like it irks me. Like
- 41:13Speaker 2: I said, it irks me. I was a little fired
- 41:15Speaker 2: up when reading these articles to prepare for this conversation,
- 41:20Speaker 2: so I was like, Ah, but one that I did
- 41:24Speaker 2: want to also bring up that I do want to
- 41:28Speaker 2: know your your legitimate opinion on because I recently finished
- 41:37Speaker 2: last month the book Star Wars Princess Leah. That was
- 41:47Speaker 2: a book that took place when Lea is at the
- 41:53Speaker 2: age of I believe sixteen. She is very young, She's
- 41:58Speaker 2: getting a lot of responsibility, and there are moments where
- 42:03Speaker 2: she does interact with mon Mathma in this article. The
- 42:07Speaker 2: article is titled Tony Gilroy reveals he considered using Princess
- 42:11Speaker 2: Leah while reflecting on Andor's finale. Now, do you feel
- 42:20Speaker 2: like Lea would have been too much for the show?
- 42:29Speaker 1: I do, because you have the moments from Bail, you
- 42:35Speaker 1: have the moments from mine. I feel like if you
- 42:39Speaker 1: had included Leah it would have been too much because
- 42:45Speaker 1: you're going, like Tony, and it's again going back to
- 42:48Speaker 1: what Tony Gilroy has said, Oh, I want it to connect,
- 42:51Speaker 1: but I don't want to connect, like, I want it
- 42:54Speaker 1: to stand on its own. So with the fact that
- 42:58Speaker 1: it is there and it's does stand on its own, like,
- 43:02Speaker 1: I think it makes a lot of sense not to
- 43:05Speaker 1: have her there because I think if you do, it's
- 43:10Speaker 1: just like, yeah, now Leah is here. Now I want
- 43:14Speaker 1: all these things involved. You have more what ifs if
- 43:19Speaker 1: you will well.
- 43:21Speaker 2: And that was the thing. So like his actual quote
- 43:24Speaker 2: here is there were some conversations early on. I was
- 43:27Speaker 2: trying to get the most out of the out of
- 43:33Speaker 2: that investiture week and those parties, and we were trying
- 43:39Speaker 2: to find out on the timeline where she would be
- 43:42Speaker 2: in the Senate. There were some nutrients for a scene
- 43:47Speaker 2: between her and Mathma if she was going there at
- 43:51Speaker 2: sixteen and Mathma had gone to the Senate when she
- 43:54Speaker 2: was sixteen. There were some basic cool things for a scene,
- 43:58Speaker 2: but it never got past that, and it never went
- 44:01Speaker 2: to the to the casting stage, or it never got
- 44:04Speaker 2: more real than that. I remember talking to Kathy Kathleen
- 44:09Speaker 2: Kennedy about it and talking to Pablo Hidalgo about it,
- 44:15Speaker 2: but never got traction, and then it became a distraction. Uh.
- 44:24Speaker 2: I think that for one, I do think that I
- 44:34Speaker 2: think Kathleen would have let him do it. For one,
- 44:37Speaker 2: I think that she would have let him. We could
- 44:41Speaker 2: have legitimately seen a newly casted Leah for the age
- 44:49Speaker 2: of sixteen, because I highly doubt no, you could have if.
- 44:55Speaker 1: You wanted to have Leah with I can't remember her name,
- 44:59Speaker 1: but the you want Kenobi actress, you would have needed
- 45:02Speaker 1: to have her in like Mon Mathma's wedding. Yeah, the
- 45:07Speaker 1: not not Mon Mathma's wedding Lea Yeah.
- 45:12Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 45:13Speaker 1: And we're about to jump into our third ad, y'all.
- 45:17Speaker 1: We promise we'll be right back. We promise.
- 45:20Speaker 2: With this though, I think that it would have been
- 45:28Speaker 2: too much, because we have the idea, and I do
- 45:34Speaker 2: think that this this is the part of the distraction
- 45:37Speaker 2: portion that Gilbory probably was thinking about. Was she's gonna
- 45:42Speaker 2: steal the scenes mm hmm. It's going to take away
- 45:46Speaker 2: from Mathma, it's gonna take away from and Or, it's
- 45:50Speaker 2: gonna take away from Luthen. It's not really important because
- 45:58Speaker 2: the stepping stones that we need for Leyah's role within
- 46:08Speaker 2: the Star Wars timeline is not what Andor is about
- 46:15Speaker 2: ye and it and that is where the distraction takes place.
- 46:19Speaker 2: You're veering, you're taking a left turn for this small
- 46:23Speaker 2: cameo that completely derails the narrative of the show.
- 46:29Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 46:30Speaker 2: So I think it's a good idea, like it's it's
- 46:33Speaker 2: a fun idea. But it was a good decision to
- 46:37Speaker 2: leave Leya out of the show, yeah.
- 46:40Speaker 1: One hundred, because it would have fully derailed things. Like
- 46:43Speaker 1: you said. Yeah, so, let's see, I had one more
- 46:51Speaker 1: in here. Okay, so that's the Princess Leiah one. I
- 46:56Speaker 1: was trying to find it. I had so many tabs
- 46:58Speaker 1: open from Star Wars news net.
- 46:59Speaker 2: Guy, Oh well there is one. This comes into the
- 47:06Speaker 2: and Or theories parts of the conversation. Okay, there is
- 47:13Speaker 2: an article on Dark Horizons dot com. I've never heard
- 47:18Speaker 2: of this thing before. It was shared in the geek
- 47:21Speaker 2: Verse discord, and Snell was very excited for this. It's
- 47:26Speaker 2: titled Disney has Plans for Bicks and it says here.
- 47:35Speaker 2: Though and Or may have finished its two season run,
- 47:37Speaker 2: they may not. That may not be the last we've
- 47:40Speaker 2: heard of some of the new characters introduced. Well, the
- 47:44Speaker 2: key characters of the series died on Scariff in the
- 47:47Speaker 2: events of Rogue One. One character who wasn't there and
- 47:52Speaker 2: continued to live on. Was Cassian's friend turned lover Bis.
- 47:58Speaker 2: The final scene in the series is the introduction of
- 48:01Speaker 2: a child. She and Cassian and Or had a child
- 48:05Speaker 2: he will never get to meet. Daniel Rpku is reporting
- 48:12Speaker 2: that there are rumblings that lucasfilm has more plans for
- 48:17Speaker 2: the Bis character. What these plans are is anybody's guests.
- 48:22Speaker 2: Some fans have speculated Oscar Isaac's Po Damren is that child,
- 48:26Speaker 2: which boo on anybody who is trying to connect these
- 48:31Speaker 2: characters to other characters of a franchise. This is what
- 48:35Speaker 2: happens when all y'all cry about last Jedi and then
- 48:41Speaker 2: get what, Yeah, it's so dumb, guys. Cassian is not
- 48:49Speaker 2: related to Po Damren. The article continues. However, about nine
- 48:55Speaker 2: years or so passed between the end of and or
- 48:59Speaker 2: in the beginning of the ma Andalorian, so Bix and
- 49:01Speaker 2: her Son's return in a Mando verse series would be
- 49:05Speaker 2: quite possible. It says here the actress who plays Bix
- 49:13Speaker 2: has previously expressed a willingness to reprise the role if asked.
- 49:19Speaker 2: So the theories again, I just mentioned a small one
- 49:24Speaker 2: which I think is absolutely stupid of people to think
- 49:26Speaker 2: that it is programmering. Like Jesus Christ, I had told you.
- 49:34Speaker 2: I can't remember if I actually said it during our
- 49:38Speaker 2: actual review of the finale, but I've had the conversation
- 49:42Speaker 2: with Travis Snell. I do not want an and Or
- 49:47Speaker 2: junior show because I think that is the wrong lesson
- 49:56Speaker 2: to learn from the success of and Or. Yes, the
- 50:02Speaker 2: one thing that investors the people who the people in
- 50:06Speaker 2: suits with all the money, they see dollar signs and
- 50:10Speaker 2: they want more dollar signs, and they think the only
- 50:12Speaker 2: thing that makes more dollar signs is the one thing
- 50:14Speaker 2: that made them dollar signs. It's why the MCU has
- 50:19Speaker 2: the mandates that it does. It's why that has kind
- 50:22Speaker 2: of gone into chaos, and they're like trying to pick
- 50:25Speaker 2: up the pieces. I don't need and Or season three
- 50:30Speaker 2: just because some dude in the suit said, Hey, I
- 50:32Speaker 2: got a lot of money from this, let's do it again.
- 50:36Speaker 1: Yeah, because you run into the issue of how a
- 50:41Speaker 1: lot of reboots are going right now, where you have
- 50:46Speaker 1: this really dumb story, in particular how I met your
- 50:50Speaker 1: father one of the dumbest things that I have ever watched.
- 50:55Speaker 2: Like I never watched the show. I considered it because
- 50:59Speaker 2: it was Hillary Duff. I'm a really big fan. First
- 51:02Speaker 2: I was like, hey, maybe this has some you know,
- 51:06Speaker 2: validity to it, but like I had also heard that
- 51:09Speaker 2: it was kind of poorly written.
- 51:12Speaker 1: It was very poorly written, Like they didn't consider at
- 51:16Speaker 1: all like they had Robin, they had Barney like make appearances. Okay,
- 51:22Speaker 1: but how does that relate to her as a character?
- 51:26Speaker 1: Like yeah, because yeah, so it's just you run into
- 51:33Speaker 1: that risk where you go, oh, okay, I'm gonna reboot
- 51:36Speaker 1: this later on. And sure, could you say I'm gonna
- 51:40Speaker 1: have and or the next generation with the Resistance, Sure
- 51:48Speaker 1: you could totally do that. But I don't want to
- 51:50Speaker 1: see Star Wars go oh the kid has to live
- 51:53Speaker 1: up to the success of the Fuck or the Mother.
- 51:57Speaker 1: Not a fan. Now, if we get and Ord like
- 52:01Speaker 1: Bix goes, you know what, I want to get involved
- 52:05Speaker 1: with the Senate and we see the Senator Bix like
- 52:13Speaker 1: en Core assign and we see little and like with her.
- 52:18Speaker 1: I don't have a problem with that. I don't want
- 52:24Speaker 1: and Or the next generation at all whatsoever.
- 52:27Speaker 2: Well, and see I have a small issue with that
- 52:30Speaker 2: as well. The reason why I have a problem with
- 52:33Speaker 2: that is Bix's character, and you know this may be
- 52:42Speaker 2: a little out of line. Uh and and people can
- 52:45Speaker 2: have their opinions, they can come at me with their
- 52:47Speaker 2: opinions after I say this, But with how we saw
- 52:53Speaker 2: the character evolve from the beginning of season one to
- 52:58Speaker 2: the farewell at the end of season two, I legitimately
- 53:05Speaker 2: don't think Bis is gonna be like, Hey, I want
- 53:10Speaker 2: to be the change that and Or you know, died for.
- 53:16Speaker 2: I want to be a part of all of these politics.
- 53:21Speaker 2: She ran away like she like she wants to live
- 53:25Speaker 2: a peaceful life. Now. The problem that I see a
- 53:30Speaker 2: rising with the and Or Junior show, if you know
- 53:34Speaker 2: this is all hypothetical of course, is it is a
- 53:39Speaker 2: Luke Skywalker retelling. M hm, that's all it is. Yeah,
- 53:45Speaker 2: like it is legitimate. Oh my father died during this
- 53:48Speaker 2: war and blah blah blah. It is legitimately a Luke
- 53:52Speaker 2: Skywalker story. Told again, you're right, You're one hundred percent right.
- 53:57Speaker 2: And I'm saying that. And some dude that works for
- 54:03Speaker 2: Disney and Lucasfilm right now is listening to our podcast
- 54:07Speaker 2: and is saying, God damn it, it's genius, let's do it.
- 54:11Speaker 2: And I'm gonna pull my hair out like it is.
- 54:14Speaker 2: It is every like the people who are just stuck
- 54:18Speaker 2: in their ways of the original trilogy would would one
- 54:22Speaker 2: hundred percent be on board with this.
- 54:24Speaker 1: Mm hm.
- 54:26Speaker 2: But we can't keep going backwards. But oh, Clay, We're
- 54:30Speaker 2: going forwards. It's the future. No, we're in the same
- 54:33Speaker 2: timeline telling the same kind of story. Like, we can't
- 54:39Speaker 2: keep doing this, guys, we need something new. And I
- 54:45Speaker 2: don't want another Luke Skywalker story. I don't care if
- 54:48Speaker 2: he's not a Jedi. He is still in the same vein.
- 54:55Speaker 2: You're still telling the same story in the same vein,
- 54:58Speaker 2: And I just don't want it. Don't want And so
- 55:04Speaker 2: the if this show became a bis show about her survival,
- 55:20Speaker 2: about her past haunting her, you know, the regret of
- 55:28Speaker 2: you know, not letting and or in her live a
- 55:31Speaker 2: peaceful life because she sees that the the New Order
- 55:41Speaker 2: is coming around, and it's like, oh, it was all
- 55:45Speaker 2: for nothing. Like I could see that drama series being
- 55:51Speaker 2: really good, you know again, another political drama. I think
- 55:56Speaker 2: that could that could be something, but done not give
- 56:01Speaker 2: me an action adventure and or junior show. I do
- 56:07Speaker 2: not want it. I do not need this this kid
- 56:11Speaker 2: to live up to his father's name, and he gets
- 56:17Speaker 2: to meet all of the heroes that his dad worked with.
- 56:22Speaker 2: Like I, I don't need it. I don't.
- 56:28Speaker 1: So the last thing I think we have to talk
- 56:31Speaker 1: about is the ratings for like the Nielsen ratings, guys. Basically,
- 56:40Speaker 1: if you don't know what this is, this is the
- 56:41Speaker 1: smart TV looks like that tracks how much you watch basically,
- 56:47Speaker 1: so it's a decent representation of the public. So I
- 56:53Speaker 1: don't have like the distinct ratings. I have Week two
- 56:58Speaker 1: and I have Week fours civic related to all the
- 57:01Speaker 1: other shows. But so week one, with three episodes, we
- 57:06Speaker 1: had seven hundred and twenty one minutes watched, and then
- 57:13Speaker 1: week two it was eight hundred and twenty one minutes watched,
- 57:19Speaker 1: and then week three it was eight hundred thirty million minutes.
- 57:26Speaker 1: All of these are in millions, if that wasn't clear, guys.
- 57:28Speaker 1: And then the finale week it came in at number
- 57:32Speaker 1: one that finale week with nine hundred and thirty million minutes.
- 57:40Speaker 1: So overall, very good for a season two of the show.
- 57:49Speaker 1: And this is not compared to the last of us.
- 57:55Speaker 1: Where is it is this the right thing? Yes, it's
- 57:57Speaker 1: the right thing. Okay, so and Or Bluey Andrew, I was.
- 58:01Speaker 2: Gonna say number two that that within itself tells you
- 58:08Speaker 2: how crazy and Or was. Guys. Blue is a show
- 58:16Speaker 2: that is legitimately universally loved yep, Like, I have never
- 58:23Speaker 2: heard anybody say, hey, Blue, that stupid show about a
- 58:29Speaker 2: dog at that show like no, like you will never
- 58:33Speaker 2: hear anybody say that I love Bluey. For and Or
- 58:38Speaker 2: to reach nine and thirty one million hours watched minutes
- 58:48Speaker 2: minute sorry when I know for a fact there are
- 58:53Speaker 2: families that legitimately turn on Blue and then walk away
- 58:58Speaker 2: from their TV and let that show literally go all
- 59:03Speaker 2: the way to its end is absolutely insane to me.
- 59:07Speaker 1: Yeah. So, for instance, Guys, in week two of and Or,
- 59:13Speaker 1: it ranked at number six with again eight hundred and
- 59:16Speaker 1: twenty one minutes. Bluie was number four at eight hundred
- 59:20Speaker 1: and seventy minutes. Like. So it's just it's a really.
- 59:28Speaker 4: Good sign and as one of the highest rated TV
- 59:35Speaker 4: shows of all time with some of the best rated episodes,
- 59:41Speaker 4: I really hope that this results in good things at
- 59:44Speaker 4: award conventions and everything, particularly with Emmy's because that's what
- 59:50Speaker 4: Disney's looking for with this.
- 59:51Speaker 1: That's why we got this release schedule that we did,
- 59:54Speaker 1: even though they seem to be repeating with Ironheart, but
- 59:58Speaker 1: we don't know if that's because they just want to
- 1:00:00Speaker 1: get rid of the show or because they just want
- 1:00:03Speaker 1: to repeat what they did the handle. So I really
- 1:00:09Speaker 1: hope this does give good award talks for Star Wars
- 1:00:16Speaker 1: shows so that we continue to get them, because at
- 1:00:19Speaker 1: the end of the day, we do love that we
- 1:00:21Speaker 1: get Star Wars on TV point Yeah. Yeah, anything else
- 1:00:30Speaker 1: for the conversation.
- 1:00:32Speaker 2: I don't believe. So I think that is everything for
- 1:00:37Speaker 2: this week. Remember, guys, at the time of recording, Patreon
- 1:00:45Speaker 2: subscribers have access to the Trials of the Jedi review.
- 1:00:51Speaker 2: The book is officially out. It came out on Tuesday

- 1:01:22Speaker 2: Katie's electricity almost went out and so we had up
- 1:01:28Speaker 2: it was it was mild, but yeah, that was a
- 1:01:31Speaker 2: really fun review, really like and and we we gushed
- 1:01:36Speaker 2: about the High Republic at the very end of that
- 1:01:39Speaker 2: as well. Uh so go catch that on uh post
- 1:01:44Speaker 2: podcast feeds as of you know the time that you're

- 1:02:26Speaker 2: by the way, Katie, I purposely turned it right as
- 1:02:32Speaker 2: I was driving home to work. Driving home from work today,
- 1:02:36Speaker 2: I listened to chapter twenty two again. It's it's so good, guys,
- 1:02:42Speaker 2: Chapter twenty two Trials of the Jedi literally best thing
- 1:02:46Speaker 2: to ever come out of Star Wars. Ever. I'm just
- 1:02:48Speaker 2: gonna say that, and we say the same thing in
- 1:02:51Speaker 2: our review, so it's totally fine. But yeah, go check
- 1:02:57Speaker 2: out all of my socials there with Ranger Alliance, there
- 1:03:03Speaker 2: is going to be a two episode drop two weeks
