- 0:00Speaker 1: Stirring the pot one morning at a time. Welcome to
- 0:05Speaker 1: the Alabama show. Do you want to have a good
- 0:16Speaker 1: day or a bad day today?
- 0:17Speaker 2: Good, please.
- 0:19Speaker 1: That's my favorite thing to ask.
- 0:22Speaker 2: Well, I do want a good day, please. What do
- 0:24Speaker 2: you have in mind? I don't know.
- 0:26Speaker 1: Just asking. I'm just seeing what kind of day you
- 0:28Speaker 1: want to have and how hard I want to mess
- 0:30Speaker 1: with you.
- 0:31Speaker 2: Who would ever say they want a bad day?
- 0:33Speaker 1: Me. Well, who would say they want you to have
- 0:36Speaker 1: a bad day?
- 0:37Speaker 2: Anyway, good morning.
- 0:39Speaker 1: Thanks for being here. If you are new to the show,
- 0:42Speaker 1: we appreciate you. Thank you for listening. You can always
- 0:45Speaker 1: call in 650 and 850. We're going to do What
- 0:47Speaker 1: the Hell Headlines at 7 o'clock. There was an incident
- 0:53Speaker 1: that happened yesterday. On the Alabama farm, which is my house.
- 0:56Speaker 1: We call it the Alabama farm. 8 o'clock, producer Blake
- 0:59Speaker 1: did something stupid that his landlords are probably going to
- 1:02Speaker 1: evict him for.
- 1:03Speaker 2: I think me and you just live these roles.
- 1:05Speaker 1: I know. But call anytime. If you got good news
- 1:08Speaker 1: you want to share, we'd love to hear it. 833-501-BAMA
- 1:11Speaker 1: is the number. That's 833-501-2262. Stop. It's What the Hell Headlines.
- 1:18Speaker 1: What the hell are you talking about?
- 1:20Speaker 3: On the Alabama show.
- 1:22Speaker 1: A dog tried to make friends with a home intruder
- 1:25Speaker 1: after they broke into a house. What the hell?
- 1:29Speaker 2: I'm guessing it's not a guard dog. No.
- 1:31Speaker 1: Nash is his name. A 90-pound golden retriever. Somebody broke
- 1:35Speaker 1: into a home in San Diego and the cameras caught
- 1:37Speaker 1: the golden retriever bringing the intruder toys, trying to get
- 1:41Speaker 1: them to play with them. This would be my dogs.
- 1:45Speaker 2: Listen to this.
- 1:46Speaker 4: We just watched it all happen from my phone. The dogs, like,
- 1:49Speaker 4: we just wanted to make sure that they were safe.
- 1:51Speaker 4: Nash was not the greatest guard dog. We thought that
- 1:53Speaker 4: he was going to be barking at people, and he
- 1:55Speaker 4: did the exact opposite.
- 1:56Speaker 1: So basically, if you're looking for a guard dog, don't
- 1:58Speaker 1: get a golden retriever.
- 2:00Speaker 4: What the hell?
- 2:02Speaker 3: Super easy trivia with The Alabama Show.
- 2:05Speaker 1: Today, producer Blake. You are contestant number one.
- 2:09Speaker 2: Let's go.
- 2:10Speaker 1: Let's go. Actually, you're contestant only one. Okay, well, I'll
- 2:15Speaker 1: take it. Super easy trivia. Call the show if you
- 2:19Speaker 1: want to win tickets to Homestead Hollow 833-501-BAMA is the number.
- 2:23Speaker 1: Producer Blake, question number one. Okay. What is something that
- 2:26Speaker 1: you hit with a hammer?
- 2:27Speaker 5: Nails.
- 2:29Speaker 2: Good job.
- 2:29Speaker 1: Yes. What ocean is off the California coast? I know
- 2:35Speaker 1: you're bad with geography and I love this.
- 2:38Speaker 2: That'd be the Pacific.
- 2:40Speaker 1: Yeah. Good job. And last one for the win.
- 2:43Speaker 2: Okay.
- 2:44Speaker 1: What Disney movie is Elsa in? Frozen.
- 2:48Speaker 2: That'd be Frozen. Yes, it is.
- 2:49Speaker 1: That's it. Congratulations, buddy.
- 3:01Speaker 3: You won.
- 3:01Speaker 2: Thank you. And you put all the hard ones for me.
- 3:03Speaker 2: I like that.
- 3:04Speaker 3: It's three things you need to know with the Alabama show.
- 3:08Speaker 1: We're getting a new Shake Shack on 280. There were
- 3:11Speaker 1: some building permits that were just released in Birmingham and
- 3:16Speaker 1: Shake Shack on 280 is one of them. It was
- 3:19Speaker 1: $ 1. 5 million permit issued. So it's supposed to open in
- 3:24Speaker 1: the first part of 2027. So we'll have a new
- 3:27Speaker 1: Shake Shack soon. We have 20 performers set for CMA's
- 3:30Speaker 1: Dolly Parton tribute special on ABC. So far, we know
- 3:33Speaker 1: Ella Langley, Lainey Wilson, Reba, Carrie Underwood, Brad Paisley, Zac Brown,
- 3:38Speaker 1: Lady A, Little Big Town, and so many more. It's
- 3:41Speaker 1: going to be a two-hour special on October 21st on
- 3:44Speaker 1: ABC and Disney +, with the next day streaming on Hulu.
- 3:48Speaker 1: And proceeds will benefit Dolly's Imagination Library. Amazon's prime big
- 3:54Speaker 1: deal days is happening now through tomorrow. If you've been
- 3:57Speaker 1: looking at something that you want to buy on Amazon,
- 3:59Speaker 1: some of the popular things on sale right now are
- 4:02Speaker 1: Apple devices like AirPods and smart home gadgets like blank
- 4:06Speaker 1: video doorbells, also fashion deals and home goods and kitchen
- 4:09Speaker 1: deals if you want to get more. That is three
- 4:11Speaker 1: things you need to know. More at thealabamashow.com.
- 4:16Speaker 3: The Alabama Show on demand. Free on the iHeartRadio app.
- 4:19Speaker 1: I messed up real big.
- 4:21Speaker 2: Okay, what did you do this time?
- 4:23Speaker 1: Thanks for listening to The Alabama Show. I'm Alabama with
- 4:25Speaker 1: producer Blake. I house sit for my friends when they
- 4:29Speaker 1: go out of town. And they go out of town
- 4:32Speaker 1: pretty often. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 4:33Speaker 2: This summer they have. They've been traveling.
- 4:35Speaker 1: Well, I water the plants. I play with their horses
- 4:38Speaker 1: and feed the cats and do the things.
- 4:40Speaker 2: Yeah, correct.
- 4:41Speaker 1: So yesterday, they get back in town after being gone
- 4:44Speaker 1: for a week. Okay. Okay. I forgot to clean out
- 4:47Speaker 1: the cat's litter box.
- 4:50Speaker 2: Like one time or the whole time?
- 4:52Speaker 1: For the whole week. And so what happened was my friend,
- 4:57Speaker 1: the wife, she texted me and she goes, hey, when
- 4:59Speaker 1: was the last time you cleaned out the litter box?
- 5:01Speaker 1: Because our shower is full of cat poop.
- 5:05Speaker 2: And I went, oh, never. You actually told her never?
- 5:10Speaker 1: Yeah, because they would have known that I didn't do it.
- 5:13Speaker 1: Because I usually, when I do it, I leave the
- 5:15Speaker 1: bag somewhere for them to take out. So I couldn't lie.
- 5:18Speaker 1: I was like, oh, I didn't clean it. Because I
- 5:21Speaker 1: hate cleaning the litter box. Every time I thought about
- 5:24Speaker 1: doing it, I was like, oh, I'll do it the
- 5:26Speaker 1: next time I come back.
- 5:27Speaker 2: I never did it.
- 5:29Speaker 1: And so the cat pooped all over their shower.
- 5:31Speaker 2: Yeah. You're never going to get hired again. You're never
- 5:35Speaker 2: going to get asked for help again. I know. They
- 5:37Speaker 2: didn't pay me anyway.
- 5:39Speaker 1: It's just trade for swimming in their pool.
- 5:41Speaker 2: I was about to say, you get to swim in
- 5:42Speaker 2: their pool.
- 5:43Speaker 1: I know.
- 5:43Speaker 6: You just lost pool privilege just because you couldn't clean
- 5:46Speaker 6: up some cat feces.
- 5:47Speaker 1: She didn't even respond after I said that. I was
- 5:50Speaker 1: waiting for her to respond and say anything.
- 5:52Speaker 2: I just went, I didn't. She never said a word.
- 5:55Speaker 1: So I think she's mad.
- 5:56Speaker 2: At me too. Have you still not talked to him
- 5:59Speaker 2: at all?
- 5:59Speaker 1: No.
- 6:00Speaker 2: What have you done? You've lost pool privileges.
- 6:03Speaker 6: I know.
- 6:05Speaker 2: No more pool party for you. I'm not going to.
- 6:07Speaker 1: Be tan and golden brown anymore.
- 6:09Speaker 2: I'm so upset. Because you were.
- 6:12Speaker 1: I know. I don't know what to do. Call the show.
- 6:17Speaker 1: 833-501-BAMA is the number. Call the show. Do you ever
- 6:19Speaker 1: house sit for your friends and have you ever messed
- 6:21Speaker 1: something up? Or has anybody ever house sit for you
- 6:23Speaker 1: and forgot to do anything? 833-501-2262.
- 6:28Speaker 3: The Alabama Show, on demand, free on the iHeartRadio app.
- 6:33Speaker 1: 833-501-BAMA is the number to call the show. Katie, good morning.
- 6:36Speaker 1: Where are you calling from?
- 6:37Speaker 5: From Huntsville.
- 6:39Speaker 2: Awesome.
- 6:39Speaker 1: Thanks for listening in Huntsville. Okay, what happened when you
- 6:43Speaker 1: watched Somebody's House?
- 6:45Speaker 5: Oh, it was worse. They watched our cats for us
- 6:48Speaker 5: years ago, and we had a keyboard, and we were
- 6:52Speaker 5: gone over the weekend, so a few days. God, I
- 6:56Speaker 5: can't even. She basically left the keyboard on. It must
- 7:00Speaker 5: have gotten, like, walked on, and it was blasting random, like,
- 7:05Speaker 5: a loop of do-do-do-do-do-do, like.
- 7:08Speaker 4: Oh, no.
- 7:08Speaker 5: Max volume for days. And she was like, oh, I
- 7:12Speaker 5: thought that's what you guys would want to leave on
- 7:14Speaker 5: for the cats, ma'am.
- 7:17Speaker 1: Were the cats just screaming and going crazy when you
- 7:20Speaker 1: got home?
- 7:21Speaker 5: Like, I think they were traumatized.
- 7:22Speaker 1: Like, they were, like, silent.
- 7:26Speaker 2: Poor babies.
- 7:27Speaker 1: Every time the keyboard comes out, they run.
- 7:29Speaker 5: You're right. Like, we got rid of it, needless to say. But, like,
- 7:32Speaker 5: there was, like, no brain power in that. Like, who
- 7:36Speaker 5: does that?
- 7:36Speaker 3: Oh, no.
- 7:37Speaker 2: That's funny.
- 7:38Speaker 1: Katie, thank you for sharing.
- 7:40Speaker 5: Thank you.
- 7:40Speaker 1: Bye. Bye.
- 7:41Speaker 3: It's three things you need to know with the Alabama show.
- 7:45Speaker 1: UAB just named the interim women's soccer coach. They said
- 7:48Speaker 1: the former coach is not going to return. So Lisa
- 7:51Speaker 1: Mann is currently out. No additional information was given. Their
- 7:56Speaker 1: interim is going to be Mark Hiller. A Russian lab
- 8:01Speaker 1: worker has passed away after suspected exposure to the plague.
- 8:05Speaker 1: And it is all over the news right now. It's
- 8:07Speaker 1: still a developing situation. But according to media reports, what
- 8:11Speaker 1: we know right now, as many as 189 people in
- 8:14Speaker 1: Russia have been placed under medical observation in the area
- 8:17Speaker 1: due to exposure. As we find out more, we will
- 8:20Speaker 1: keep you updated. But do not panic. Tate McRae has
- 8:24Speaker 1: officially dropped her first perfume on a lighter note.
- 8:27Speaker 2: Go ahead and tell me more.
- 8:28Speaker 1: It's called Tate 01. They say here's what it smells like.
- 8:32Speaker 1: It has notes of bergamot and sage, orange flower, and
- 8:36Speaker 1: base notes of sensual moss and creamy tonka.
- 8:40Speaker 2: I only like the last two. I don't know what
- 8:42Speaker 2: the first two are. I don't even know.
- 8:44Speaker 1: What does sensual moss smell like?
- 8:48Speaker 2: Must be good if she's wearing it.
- 8:49Speaker 1: What?
- 8:51Speaker 2: I don't know, but I like where this is going.
- 8:53Speaker 1: Get me out of here. If you want to get
- 8:55Speaker 1: her new perfume, it's available now for $ 82 a bottle.
- 8:59Speaker 1: And that is three things you need to know. More
- 9:01Speaker 1: at thealabamashow.com.
- 9:04Speaker 3: The Alabama Show on demand.
- 9:06Speaker 1: Amazing.
- 9:07Speaker 3: Free on the iHeartRadio app.
- 9:10Speaker 1: 833-501-BAMA is the number to call the show. If you
- 9:12Speaker 1: have good news you want to share. Jessica, good morning.
- 9:15Speaker 1: What's your good news? I have great news. I actually
- 9:18Speaker 1: worked the night shift without falling asleep last night.
- 9:20Speaker 3: You know what I mean?
- 9:21Speaker 1: Let's go.
- 9:23Speaker 2: Are you a nurse?
- 9:25Speaker 1: Where do you work the night shift?
- 9:27Speaker 5: I am a tech at a local hospital here in Birmingham.
- 9:30Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 9:31Speaker 5: And so I'm new. So it's just one of the
- 9:34Speaker 5: first nights that I've not actually wanted to sleep.
- 9:37Speaker 1: What are you doing to make it through the night?
- 9:38Speaker 1: Are you drinking Red Bull coffee?
- 9:41Speaker 5: Two monsters and a diet Mountain Dew.
- 9:45Speaker 6: I know.
- 9:45Speaker 1: Look, I've done night shift before. It is probably one
- 9:48Speaker 1: of the most insane shifts to ever do because you
- 9:51Speaker 1: have to try to sleep during the day now. While
- 9:53Speaker 1: the whole world's awake, living life, you got to sleep.
- 9:55Speaker 1: And then when you wake up, everybody's asleep. It's crazy. Yep.
- 9:59Speaker 1: Got to do it again tonight. Kids, I'm missing out
- 10:10Speaker 1: on my girls.
- 10:11Speaker 5: It's only three days a week.
- 10:12Speaker 1: Yeah, that's good. Only three days a week is good.
- 10:14Speaker 1: And I know that what you're doing is to probably
- 10:17Speaker 1: pay for the groceries in school and all the things
- 10:19Speaker 1: that you're doing for your kids, too. So I am
- 10:22Speaker 1: proud of you for what you're doing. And this won't
- 10:24Speaker 1: be forever. And that's awesome what you're doing. So you
- 10:26Speaker 1: know what? You're getting the air horn. You're awesome. Thank you.
- 10:31Speaker 1: Have a good day.
- 10:32Speaker 3: The Alabama Show on demand. Free on the iHeartRadio app.
- 10:36Speaker 1: I knew as soon as producer Blake was like, oh,
- 10:39Speaker 1: your friends from high school are going to be my landlords,
- 10:42Speaker 1: that this was going to be a bad idea.
- 10:44Speaker 2: It's not a bad idea.
- 10:45Speaker 1: It's a terrible idea because they're my friends. And when
- 10:47Speaker 1: you do something stupid, it's going to fall back on me.
- 10:50Speaker 2: How's it going to fall back on you? You don't
- 10:52Speaker 2: live there.
- 10:52Speaker 1: Thanks for listening to The Alabama Show. I'm Alabama with
- 10:55Speaker 1: producer Blake.
- 10:56Speaker 2: That's me.
- 10:57Speaker 1: What'd you do to the house of my friends that
- 10:59Speaker 1: you are living in?
- 11:00Speaker 6: So I've been decorating my new rooms to be like,
- 11:04Speaker 6: you know, fancy for my like gaming stuff.
- 11:06Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 11:07Speaker 2: And so I have been.
- 11:08Speaker 1: Trying to hang like pictures on the wall and stuff.
- 11:11Speaker 6: Yeah, like some of the stuff I got as gifts.
- 11:14Speaker 6: I'm hanging up on behind my wall to the side
- 11:16Speaker 6: of my wall where it's all in a camera shot
- 11:18Speaker 6: for my streaming stuff. And I noticed that they weren't
- 11:22Speaker 6: in the right places. So now there's just random holes
- 11:25Speaker 6: in my wall.
- 11:26Speaker 1: Yeah, but how were you making the random holes in
- 11:29Speaker 1: your wall? Because you didn't have a hammer. Correct.
- 11:33Speaker 6: I did not have a hammer, so I had a
- 11:35Speaker 6: mini fan, you know, one of the Dyson fans that
- 11:38Speaker 6: have no blades in them, and it doesn't work, so
- 11:40Speaker 6: I went around.
- 11:41Speaker 2: And started hitting them really hard into the wall.
- 11:44Speaker 1: Were you hitting nails into the wall?
- 11:46Speaker 2: Yeah, that's correct, with my fan.
- 11:49Speaker 6: And now there's random holes, but they're covered up by
- 11:52Speaker 6: my vinyls that are hanging up on the wall.
- 11:54Speaker 1: But what you're saying is you have a bunch of
- 11:57Speaker 1: random holes, and I'm sure that they're not nail-sized because
- 12:01Speaker 1: you weren't even hitting them with a hammer. Are they
- 12:03Speaker 1: the right— did any of them get bigger? Some.
- 12:06Speaker 3: Some.
- 12:08Speaker 2: A few, maybe. How big?
- 12:10Speaker 6: Okay.
- 12:11Speaker 1: Is there a dime-sized hole in the wall?
- 12:13Speaker 2: I don't think it's that big.
- 12:15Speaker 1: Because if you didn't have a hammer, you weren't hitting
- 12:17Speaker 1: it into studs. You were just hitting it into drywall.
- 12:20Speaker 2: Correct. And so I think.
- 12:22Speaker 1: I see the panic in your face.
- 12:24Speaker 2: Some of the nails might have went through.
- 12:26Speaker 3: All the way.
- 12:27Speaker 6: So now I can't find some of the nails. So
- 12:30Speaker 6: I think they fell through the wall. So now they're
- 12:33Speaker 6: behind the drywall.
- 12:34Speaker 1: We're on TikTok Live right now. Follow Alabama Radio if
- 12:37Speaker 1: you ever want to see what happens behind the scenes.
- 12:39Speaker 1: Your landlord is here. I'm waiting on her to make
- 12:41Speaker 1: a comment about these holes in the wall. Did you
- 12:43Speaker 1: put down a security deposit? No. Because they got to
- 12:47Speaker 1: fix that when you leave, you ding-dong.
- 12:49Speaker 2: I can fix it. And they want to sell the house. Yes,
- 12:52Speaker 2: I can.
- 12:53Speaker 1: Obviously, your carpentry skills are amazing from the story you
- 12:56Speaker 1: just told about you hammering nails through a whole wall
- 12:59Speaker 1: with an old fan.
- 13:00Speaker 2: Yeah, but it wasn't meant to be a permanent fix.
- 13:02Speaker 1: You sound really confident with that. I am.
- 13:05Speaker 2: I know what I'm doing, but this is like a semi-solution.
- 13:08Speaker 2: It's not meant to be permanent.
- 13:09Speaker 1: If you are a landlord and people have ever ruined
- 13:13Speaker 1: your house, or if you... I have rented from somebody
- 13:15Speaker 1: and done something like this. I want you to call
- 13:18Speaker 1: the show. 833-501-BAMA is the number. That's 833-501-2262. The Alabama
- 13:25Speaker 1: Show on demand.
- 13:26Speaker 3: Free on the iHeartRadio app.
- 13:28Speaker 1: Are you ready to go home? Yeah. Don't sound so excited.
- 13:32Speaker 1: You love working with me. I'm an awesome coworker.
- 13:37Speaker 2: Yeah, let's not leave then. Let's stay longer. No, we're going.
- 13:41Speaker 1: We're done. Keep listening today, though. There's more chances for
- 13:43Speaker 1: you to win $ 1, 000. Enjoy the rest of your day.
- 13:46Speaker 1: We'll see you tomorrow.
- 13:47Speaker 3: Thanks for listening to The Alabama Show On Demand.
