Transcript
- 0:03Speaker 1: Hello and welcome to Outspoken. It's your dose of the
- 0:06Speaker 1: hottest influencer and pop culture news twice a week. I'm
- 0:10Speaker 1: Amy Torber.
- 0:11Speaker 2: I'm Kate Torber.
- 0:12Speaker 1: And I'm Sophie Torber. And coming up on today's show,
- 0:15Speaker 1: Tammy Hembrough stirs up a cheating scandal. A Perth influencer
- 0:20Speaker 1: is criticised for leaving her baby alone in a hotel room.
- 0:24Speaker 3: Brittany Saunders hits back at critics.
- 0:26Speaker 1: Over Fate Estate and why the internet still hasn't forgiven
- 0:30Speaker 1: Anna Paul. But first, a couple of weeks ago, we
- 0:33Speaker 1: joked on the podcast that if we ever get merch made,
- 0:36Speaker 1: we need the phrase kick to the dick printed on it.
- 0:40Speaker 1: Because we seem to say it a lot. It seems
- 0:41Speaker 1: to pop up in conversation. You in particular, Kate, this
- 0:45Speaker 1: phrase just seems to roll off your tongue.
- 0:47Speaker 2: I didn't even know I was saying it until recently
- 0:49Speaker 2: when we said it twice in an episode. And I
- 0:50Speaker 2: was like, oh, when I was listening back, I was like,
- 0:52Speaker 2: probably should rein that in a little bit. And it
- 0:55Speaker 2: seems to have annoyed one of our longstanding listeners. So
- 0:58Speaker 2: a listener called Madison left a review on Apple podcast saying,
- 1:02Speaker 2: Please stop saying kick to the dick.
- 1:03Speaker 1: Please.
- 1:04Speaker 2: It's so gross to hear.
- 1:06Speaker 1: I thought this was so funny. I had to screenshot
- 1:08Speaker 1: it and put it up on our Instagram story. I
- 1:10Speaker 1: love that you say you had to screenshot it. You
- 1:12Speaker 1: firstly sent it to Kate and I. Every new review
- 1:15Speaker 1: we seem to get, despite Kate and I saying we
- 1:16Speaker 1: don't want to see it, you send through to us.
- 1:19Speaker 1: I send through the nice ones now as well.
- 1:22Speaker 2: Anyway, I shared the.
- 1:24Speaker 3: It's just a negative.
- 1:26Speaker 1: I shared the screenshot on Instagram and said, well, this
- 1:28Speaker 1: person clearly isn't interested in merch.
- 1:30Speaker 3: And this post received a massive response.
- 1:34Speaker 1: It seems like you guys are on the same page
- 1:36Speaker 1: as us and love the phrase. One listener wrote, Madison
- 1:39Speaker 1: is dead wrong. I've started incorporating this into my vocab.
- 1:43Speaker 1: Another said, I'm waiting for the exact right moment to
- 1:46Speaker 1: use this in conversation.
- 1:48Speaker 3: Whilst another said, ha ha ha ha ha. Please never stop.
- 1:52Speaker 2: To be fair, there was another listener who wasn't a
- 1:54Speaker 2: massive fan of the phrase. So they said that they
- 1:57Speaker 2: expected that sort of phrase from Lucy and Nikki, but
- 2:00Speaker 2: not from us because we're journalists.
- 2:01Speaker 1: Is this because we're not as cool as Lucy and Nikki?
- 2:03Speaker 3: Or is this like a backhanded?
- 2:05Speaker 1: Because the funny thing is, I actually think we picked
- 2:08Speaker 1: up this phrase from the newsroom. Like I swear at
- 2:11Speaker 1: Channel 10, they used to say kicked in the dick. Yeah,
- 2:14Speaker 1: because in newsrooms, journos swear all the time and they
- 2:16Speaker 1: use this sort of like phrasing. It's funny because when
- 2:18Speaker 1: this listener said, oh, I expect this from Lucy and
- 2:21Speaker 1: Nikki and not you guys, it made me want to
- 2:23Speaker 1: use it more because I think that Lucy and Nikki
- 2:26Speaker 1: are pretty iconic.
- 2:26Speaker 2: It was funny because when all this feedback was flowing through,
- 2:29Speaker 2: I was like, hang on. Did we create the saying?
- 2:33Speaker 3: I'm sure we didn't.
- 2:34Speaker 2: I've heard it plenty of times before.
- 2:35Speaker 1: There was some feedback that we say kick to the
- 2:38Speaker 1: dick when I think most people say.
- 2:39Speaker 3: Kick in the dick.
- 2:41Speaker 1: Regardless, would people like this on a shirt or would
- 2:44Speaker 1: people like this on a hat?
- 2:45Speaker 3: I mean, Amy will get them printed.
- 2:47Speaker 1: Yeah, because I've been offering to get merch done for
- 2:49Speaker 1: ages and you guys have been like, no, no one
- 2:50Speaker 1: will want it. And now it's shocked me that you
- 2:52Speaker 1: guys actually want that phrase on like a hat.
- 2:55Speaker 3: Would you actually wear it? Like, would you wear it
- 2:57Speaker 3: out and about? Yes, 100%.
- 2:59Speaker 2: I definitely would. I actually noticed the other day that
- 3:03Speaker 2: I was wearing, it's actually a pajama shirt from Grey
- 3:05Speaker 2: Lines and it had the phrase, like have a fucking
- 3:08Speaker 2: pavlova or something. And I was like, oh, should I
- 3:11Speaker 2: not be wearing a shirt that says fuck on it
- 3:13Speaker 2: now that I'm a mum?
- 3:14Speaker 1: Wait, was it the actual word fuck?
- 3:17Speaker 2: No, it said have a fucking pav or something on it.
- 3:19Speaker 3: You know what?
- 3:20Speaker 1: I reckon if we do the writing in cursive, kick
- 3:23Speaker 1: to the dick in cursive, it's more difficult to read
- 3:25Speaker 1: so maybe less rude.
- 3:26Speaker 3: I don't know. Let's float some ideas.
- 3:28Speaker 1: I don't know if you'd actually write the word dick.
- 3:30Speaker 1: I feel like it would be a censored thing.
- 3:31Speaker 3: What, like an eggplant or something?
- 3:33Speaker 2: Not to sound like a lazy influencer that's like, oh,
- 3:36Speaker 2: please give me ideas because I can't be bothered to
- 3:38Speaker 2: come up with them myself. But I'd be really interested
- 3:40Speaker 2: if there are other phrases that we say a lot
- 3:43Speaker 2: that we could also get printed on merch.
- 3:45Speaker 1: That's like somehow it came up in conversation with our
- 3:47Speaker 1: best friend. that each of us have an apparent phrase
- 3:51Speaker 1: when we're angry at each other. Like mine is, all right.
- 3:54Speaker 1: I can't remember what you guys say.
- 3:55Speaker 3: I reckon our OG listener, Rodney, he'll have a few
- 4:00Speaker 3: up his sleeve.
- 4:02Speaker 2: I'm so excited. I have no idea what to expect.
- 4:05Speaker 1: Tammy Hembrough has celebrated her 32nd birthday by seemingly taking
- 4:10Speaker 1: a swipe at her ex-husband, Matt Sikowski. Now, Kate, this
- 4:13Speaker 1: seemed like a strange move considering she seemed very loved up.
- 4:17Speaker 2: Yeah, I really wasn't expecting this because it seemed like
- 4:19Speaker 2: Tammy was having quite a wholesome birthday. So it appeared
- 4:22Speaker 2: that she was on set alongside her boyfriend, Grayson Timoana.
- 4:26Speaker 2: It looked like he bought her a birthday cake to enjoy.
- 4:29Speaker 2: They also had dinner out with some of her friends
- 4:32Speaker 2: and her manager. And as predicted, he's appearing more and
- 4:35Speaker 2: more on Tammy's socials. So she actually ended up resharing
- 4:39Speaker 2: a picture her manager took of him and her out
- 4:41Speaker 2: at dinner. He also featured in Tammy's throwback photo dump
- 4:45Speaker 2: to their Noosa getaway. So there was a blurred photo
- 4:47Speaker 2: of him throwing Tammy over a shoulder. So it seems
- 4:50Speaker 2: like she's really moved on and is happy.
- 4:52Speaker 3: As someone who has.
- 4:53Speaker 1: A partner that's younger than them, it's always awful when
- 4:56Speaker 1: your birthday rolls around and you take over to an
- 4:59Speaker 1: extra year older than them.
- 5:00Speaker 3: He's 23, isn't he?
- 5:02Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 5:02Speaker 1: So like their ages are like opposites, you know, 23, 32,
- 5:05Speaker 1: like the numbers if you reverse them. Yeah, but I
- 5:08Speaker 1: don't think he, I think he likes dating an older woman.
- 5:10Speaker 2: Yeah, but I'm guessing she probably doesn't like the fact
- 5:12Speaker 2: that it's always brought up that he's 23 and now
- 5:15Speaker 2: she's 32.
- 5:15Speaker 1: It could be seen as a bit of a flex though.
- 5:17Speaker 1: I wonder if the age difference is getting to her
- 5:19Speaker 1: a bit though, because she uploaded a TikTok. miming to
- 5:22Speaker 1: a quote from Carrie Bradshaw saying, it's my birthday and
- 5:25Speaker 1: I'm officially old. This is something I would do. Well,
- 5:27Speaker 1: not so much the miming, but the wallowing in getting older.
- 5:30Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 5:31Speaker 1: The same person that removed their year of birth from
- 5:33Speaker 1: their Facebook profile when they turned 25. I have to
- 5:36Speaker 1: say 25 was a tough year for me, actually.
- 5:40Speaker 2: It's funny because when I saw this video, I was like,
- 5:42Speaker 2: it's so awkward because obviously Grayson is the one filming it. Like,
- 5:45Speaker 2: was it based off a conversation that they had? Like
- 5:47Speaker 2: maybe he was rubbing it in that she's 32 and
- 5:50Speaker 2: he's only 23 and then they filmed it. Like I
- 5:53Speaker 2: would love to know what went on behind the scenes
- 5:55Speaker 2: that led to that video.
- 5:56Speaker 3: I know exactly what would have happened.
- 5:57Speaker 1: He, this would be his little banter that he's teasing
- 6:00Speaker 1: her that you're old and I'm so young. And like
- 6:04Speaker 1: this would, that would literally, he would be in her
- 6:05Speaker 1: head about it.
- 6:06Speaker 2: I just can't get my head around the fact that
- 6:08Speaker 2: it's already been a year since we were on Matt
- 6:10Speaker 2: Sikowsky watch at Tammy's last birthday, because If you remember,
- 6:14Speaker 2: he was a notable absentee. He also wasn't there at Easter.
- 6:18Speaker 2: He has confirmed that they actually broke up in February,
- 6:21Speaker 2: so that's why he wasn't there.
- 6:23Speaker 1: It's also the day that she chose to launch her
- 6:25Speaker 1: supplements brand, Selfish Supps, which again, I can't wrap my
- 6:28Speaker 1: head around that that's been a whole year.
- 6:29Speaker 3: The more and.
- 6:30Speaker 2: More that I get to know Tammy Hambro through her socials,
- 6:34Speaker 2: the more I think that she must really love drama
- 6:36Speaker 2: because she's seemingly had this wholesome birthday where Her boyfriend
- 6:40Speaker 2: seems to have been really nice. I mean, she was
- 6:42Speaker 2: holding a bunch of flowers in the photo that we saw.
- 6:44Speaker 2: He bought her a birthday cake. He's ticking all the boxes.
- 6:47Speaker 2: But the following day, she uploaded a reel of her
- 6:51Speaker 2: eating a sandwich. And in the video, it was all
- 6:54Speaker 2: spilling out everywhere.
- 6:55Speaker 3: I was like, good on.
- 6:57Speaker 2: You for being so comfortable eating that sandwich because It
- 7:00Speaker 2: was kind of like vision that you wouldn't want someone
- 7:03Speaker 2: else to see if you get that vibe.
- 7:04Speaker 1: Is that one of those massive sandwiches where there's so
- 7:06Speaker 1: much filling that it's just impossible to eat nicely in public?
- 7:10Speaker 3: Was that the vibe of the video?
- 7:11Speaker 2: Yeah, it was one of those sandwiches that was toasted
- 7:13Speaker 2: and it would have been very difficult to eat. And
- 7:15Speaker 2: there is someone sitting next to her that presumably is
- 7:18Speaker 2: Grayson and he is catching bits of the sandwich as
- 7:21Speaker 2: it drops out of Tammy's mouth.
- 7:22Speaker 3: He wasn't eating the scraps.
- 7:24Speaker 2: Potentially he was. I couldn't quite see. And then he
- 7:27Speaker 2: actually put the sandwich box under her. And Tammy captioned
- 7:30Speaker 2: the video, this kind of intimacy. Now, this obviously sparked
- 7:34Speaker 2: a lot of comments. So someone wrote, chapter what? To
- 7:37Speaker 2: which Tammy replied, chapter three, babes, keep up. Wouldn't it
- 7:41Speaker 2: be chapter four?
- 7:42Speaker 1: Yeah, I thought it'd be chapter four because there's been
- 7:45Speaker 1: Rhys Hawkins, Matt Poole, Matt Zukowski, and now this guy.
- 7:49Speaker 2: Also, she's dated other guys in between. But the fact
- 7:51Speaker 2: that she's actually saying that Grayson has his own chapter,
- 7:54Speaker 2: I think it's a pretty big deal. Anyway, the comment
- 7:56Speaker 2: that has got the most attention is actually a different comment.
- 7:59Speaker 2: So someone wrote, didn't your ex leave love letters everywhere?
- 8:02Speaker 2: Buy your favorite chocolates. To which she responded, cheated on me?
- 8:07Speaker 2: Question mark.
- 8:09Speaker 1: Oh. I mean, we were talking in Tuesday's episode how
- 8:13Speaker 1: Matt Sikowsky seems to be creating these reels to remain
- 8:17Speaker 1: relevant in this storyline.
- 8:19Speaker 3: But here's Tammy bringing him back in.
- 8:21Speaker 2: Throwing him a bone. I mean, probably not the bone
- 8:23Speaker 2: he wanted to be thrown. I mean, ever since that
- 8:25Speaker 2: Grand Prix cheating scandal broke a couple of years ago
- 8:28Speaker 2: and Matt Sikowsky was caught out DMing another woman, there's
- 8:31Speaker 2: always been a question mark about, well, was he to
- 8:34Speaker 2: blame for this breakup? was he unfaithful? And it seems
- 8:38Speaker 2: like Tammy is saying, well, yes, he was.
- 8:40Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 8:40Speaker 1: And it's interesting timing that she's dropped this, especially because
- 8:44Speaker 1: Matt has done a really good job at repairing his reputation.
- 8:46Speaker 1: Being on I'm a Celeb, I think everyone has sort
- 8:49Speaker 1: of started to question, well, was it Matt's fault, this
- 8:52Speaker 1: relationship breakdown, or did it have something to do with Tammy?
- 8:54Speaker 1: Especially after she stepped on the red carpet with Grayson,
- 8:58Speaker 1: there was almost this shift in tone that people were like, oh,
- 9:02Speaker 1: Is she the problem?
- 9:03Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, we were discussing earlier this week, has
- 9:05Speaker 2: Matt Sikowsky missed the boat in terms of releasing a
- 9:08Speaker 2: tell-all about Tammy Hembrough? But I feel like this opens
- 9:11Speaker 2: the door for him now to share his side of
- 9:13Speaker 2: the story.
- 9:14Speaker 1: It's an interesting way to drop the information because you
- 9:18Speaker 1: could say, oh, she doesn't want to make a big
- 9:19Speaker 1: deal about it because she's only commenting it back to
- 9:22Speaker 1: someone in her TikTok comment section. But she knows that
- 9:25Speaker 1: everyone picks up on every little crumb that she drops.
- 9:29Speaker 1: So she can sort of drop this subtly, but she
- 9:31Speaker 1: knows that this is going to make headlines very shortly.
- 9:34Speaker 2: And for the Daily Mail journalists who haven't yet seen it,
- 9:36Speaker 2: I'm sure they're going to write an article after they
- 9:38Speaker 2: listen to this podcast about it.
- 9:47Speaker 1: Anna Paul's recent TikTok live has proven she's still got
- 9:50Speaker 1: a long way to go to redeem herself. Despite being
- 9:53Speaker 1: cancelled by Michaela Tester more than a year ago, it's
- 9:57Speaker 1: clear the internet hasn't forgotten about the controversial... OnlyFans creator's misdemeanours.
- 10:02Speaker 2: It's funny because millennials and Gen Zers are often criticised
- 10:05Speaker 2: for having a short attention span, but it's not the
- 10:08Speaker 2: case when it comes to holding Anna Poole and her
- 10:10Speaker 2: brother Addis accountable. So those viral allegations Michaela Tester made
- 10:15Speaker 2: at the start of 2025 appear to be very fresh
- 10:18Speaker 2: in people's minds.
- 10:19Speaker 1: Yeah, I think that Anna thought maybe she'd given enough time.
- 10:22Speaker 1: People had forgotten about it. She was safe to jump
- 10:25Speaker 1: on a live TikTok. But from the get-go, she was
- 10:29Speaker 1: spammed with derogatory comments. So her friend Matthew, who she
- 10:33Speaker 1: was filming with, quickly blocked the word ooh when it
- 10:36Speaker 1: popped up, but it wasn't enough. So comments relating to
- 10:39Speaker 1: sexual abuse allegations against her brother Attis followed. And it
- 10:44Speaker 1: wasn't long until things absolutely snowballed. And she looked really rattled.
- 10:49Speaker 1: And it was clear she was trying to ignore the comments.
- 10:51Speaker 1: But that was a little bit hard when the whole
- 10:53Speaker 1: premise of the live was to respond to people's comments
- 10:56Speaker 1: that were coming in.
- 10:57Speaker 3: And everyone watching.
- 10:59Speaker 1: Could see the comments and her face reacting in real time.
- 11:02Speaker 2: It was really awkward because she was looking at Matthew
- 11:04Speaker 2: and trying to tell him to block the comments without
- 11:07Speaker 2: people noticing. And someone's commented saying, I thought you didn't care.
- 11:11Speaker 2: And she's like, oh yeah, it's not bothering me. It's
- 11:14Speaker 2: just because it's spam. And then Matthew made a comment
- 11:17Speaker 2: to the effect of it actually kind of drives engagement.
- 11:20Speaker 2: So it's actually kind of better to which Anna responded saying, yeah,
- 11:24Speaker 2: the views to go up. That's so fun.
- 11:25Speaker 1: Interesting that she's referring to it as spam, because I'm
- 11:28Speaker 1: wondering if she's trying to infer that Michaela Testa has
- 11:32Speaker 1: a number of bot accounts who are sending through these comments.
- 11:34Speaker 3: It's not actually people.
- 11:36Speaker 1: Who legitimately dislike her because it's When all of the
- 11:39Speaker 1: cancellations happened last year, they were both saying, oh, you've
- 11:42Speaker 1: got fake accounts and you've got fake accounts making comments.
- 11:45Speaker 3: The thing is, Matthew's right.
- 11:46Speaker 1: All of those comments would be driving up her engagement,
- 11:49Speaker 1: but I don't know if it's the best look.
- 11:51Speaker 2: It's pretty interesting because Matthew is actually the fiance of
- 11:54Speaker 2: Anna's manager and business partner, Sam Mangan. And the pair
- 11:58Speaker 2: appear to have struck up quite a strong friendship over
- 12:00Speaker 2: the last couple of years because Matthew has featured quite
- 12:03Speaker 2: heavily in Anna's Coachella content. some people were actually saying, oh, Anna,
- 12:07Speaker 2: is Matthew your boyfriend? And she's like, no, he has
- 12:10Speaker 2: a fiance.
- 12:11Speaker 1: Well, it kind of makes sense that he's saying comments like, oh,
- 12:14Speaker 1: this will do better for your engagement, considering his fiance
- 12:17Speaker 1: is her manager.
- 12:18Speaker 3: You know what I mean? He's thinking from a business perspective. Okay,
- 12:20Speaker 3: don't worry. This will just drive up, make you more popular.
- 12:23Speaker 1: I just think he said it because he was trying
- 12:25Speaker 1: to make her feel better about being trolled. It's like
- 12:27Speaker 1: when someone sends you hate and you're like, oh, whatever,
- 12:29Speaker 1: go for it.
- 12:30Speaker 2: It's just making this podcast bigger. I get what you're saying,
- 12:33Speaker 2: but the awkward thing is a lot of that commentary
- 12:36Speaker 2: was around serious allegations about her brother. And I think
- 12:41Speaker 2: by saying, oh, don't worry, it just drives up engagement.
- 12:43Speaker 2: You know, this works for you. It was a little
- 12:47Speaker 2: bit off. I mean, Michaela Testa ended up commenting saying,
- 12:50Speaker 2: you know, how terrible that was to say. I mean,
- 12:52Speaker 2: this is the thing with TikTok live and this is
- 12:54Speaker 2: why so many people jump on them because you see
- 12:56Speaker 2: these awkward things happening that probably it should have been
- 12:59Speaker 2: a conversation off camera. But you're so panicked because you're
- 13:02Speaker 2: getting all this trolling that you're saying things that you
- 13:04Speaker 2: wouldn't normally say when a camera was on.
- 13:06Speaker 1: It reminded me a bit of all the lives that
- 13:08Speaker 1: Tiki Toki guy was doing on the Manosphere documentary. And
- 13:12Speaker 1: you could just tell that all of those Manosphere creators,
- 13:15Speaker 1: they were willing to say outrageous things like that comment
- 13:18Speaker 1: in order to get more clicks and views because money
- 13:21Speaker 1: was ultimately their number one aim. I feel like Anna
- 13:23Speaker 1: must have been feeling a lot of pressure in this
- 13:25Speaker 1: live to answer some of these questions because she actually
- 13:28Speaker 1: addressed a comment about her brother in Addis Poll.
- 13:31Speaker 3: Let's take a listen to what she said.
- 13:33Speaker 2: Are you showering with your bro anytime soon?
- 13:36Speaker 3: I shower with him every single day.
- 13:38Speaker 2: I'm actually dating my brother. Did you not know this?
- 13:42Speaker 2: Now this comment about showering together is in reference to
- 13:45Speaker 2: that disturbing footage that resurfaced on Reddit from Anna's OnlyFans
- 13:50Speaker 2: account in March. And for those who haven't seen the vision,
- 13:53Speaker 2: Anna is topless in the shower alongside her brother's then girlfriend,
- 13:57Speaker 2: Michaela Tester. And a man behind the camera begins directing them.
- 14:01Speaker 2: And it sounds a lot like Anna's brother, Attis Paul. Now,
- 14:05Speaker 2: last month, Michaela Testa addressed the vision, claiming it proved
- 14:08Speaker 2: her point that Attis filmed his sister's explicit OnlyFans content.
- 14:12Speaker 1: It got worse because off the back of Anna trying
- 14:15Speaker 1: to joke about dating her brother, another user wrote, stop
- 14:19Speaker 1: earning from OnlyFans content with M, M obviously referring to Michaela.
- 14:23Speaker 1: And Anna started reading that comment out before looking startled
- 14:27Speaker 1: and quickly changing her The subject. I don't think she's
- 14:30Speaker 1: going to be jumping on another live anytime soon. Yeah.
- 14:33Speaker 1: Whose idea do you think this was for her to
- 14:35Speaker 1: go live? Because it seems like it was a disaster.
- 14:38Speaker 2: I mean, I'm guessing it was financially driven because you
- 14:40Speaker 2: can make a lot of money from live streams. Viewers
- 14:43Speaker 2: can send you virtual gifts, which you can convert to
- 14:46Speaker 2: real money. I mean, it's pretty ironic because the more
- 14:48Speaker 2: views and engagement you generate, the higher your earning potential is.
- 14:52Speaker 2: So all of those people who were hate watching and
- 14:54Speaker 2: spamming the comments were effectively helping her earn money.
- 14:58Speaker 1: Well, that's essentially what Matthew was probably referring to then saying, hey, babe,
- 15:01Speaker 1: don't worry about it. We're making plenty of money with
- 15:03Speaker 1: all these comments rolling in.
- 15:05Speaker 2: Do you think it's possible that she knew the reception
- 15:07Speaker 2: that she was going to get and went ahead with
- 15:09Speaker 2: it anyway? Because we all know how much drama boosts
- 15:13Speaker 2: visibility and perhaps she needs it because as much as
- 15:16Speaker 2: she wants to hide it, she lost a massive chunk
- 15:19Speaker 2: of followers last year. She went from over 7 million
- 15:21Speaker 2: followers TikTok followers to 5.6 million and while she still
- 15:26Speaker 2: has a lot of people following her it's likely that
- 15:29Speaker 2: 1.5 million people who unfollowed her now dislike her.
- 15:33Speaker 1: I feel like she's just a bit irrelevant now I
- 15:35Speaker 1: think people don't really know what to do with her
- 15:38Speaker 1: I mean I unfollowed her when all of the drama
- 15:40Speaker 1: unfolded and because I don't follow her now I sort
- 15:42Speaker 1: of forget that she puts content out there she really
- 15:46Speaker 1: owned that whole wholesome sort of girl next door, TikTok
- 15:50Speaker 1: sweetheart vibes. And now I don't think she really knows
- 15:53Speaker 1: where to place herself and who she is and what
- 15:55Speaker 1: sort of content to create. Oh, I completely agree. I
- 15:58Speaker 1: think this was a very strategic move because TikTok lives boost.
- 16:02Speaker 2: Your engagement way more than regular posts. So it's a
- 16:05Speaker 2: way of keeping her at the top of the algorithm
- 16:07Speaker 2: and she potentially needs it after losing so many followers.
- 16:11Speaker 1: There are a lot of influencers who are really good
- 16:14Speaker 1: at responding to criticism or drama in real time during
- 16:18Speaker 1: these sorts of lives. But I think Anna should have
- 16:20Speaker 1: learnt that that is not within her skill set at
- 16:23Speaker 1: the moment, particularly after that awful apology video that we
- 16:26Speaker 1: saw last year.
- 16:27Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, I think this just proves how moderated
- 16:30Speaker 2: her comments section must be. And it does blow my
- 16:33Speaker 2: mind that she would actually put herself in this position,
- 16:35Speaker 2: particularly because you can't filter what's going on in a live.
- 16:39Speaker 2: It's very difficult to control the comments. And it was
- 16:42Speaker 2: hard to watch her scrambling in real time to moderate
- 16:45Speaker 2: those comments while she had to grin and bear it.
- 16:48Speaker 1: As we have come to expect, Anna's nemesis, Michaela Testa
- 16:51Speaker 1: weighed in. On a screen recording of one of Anna's lives,
- 16:54Speaker 1: she wrote, to see people still caring about the suffering myself,
- 16:58Speaker 1: Alice and Jemaya went through is so kind. Thank you
- 17:01Speaker 1: guys for always trying to keep people accountable, especially when
- 17:04Speaker 1: they refuse to. And I think that she would be
- 17:07Speaker 1: feeling a huge sense of relief and that her coming
- 17:11Speaker 1: out and exposing the Paul family in this way wasn't
- 17:14Speaker 1: for nothing because it took a lot out of her
- 17:17Speaker 1: to do.
- 17:18Speaker 3: All of this.
- 17:18Speaker 1: And the fact, you know, sometimes you think, oh, people
- 17:20Speaker 1: are just going to forget about it in a year.
- 17:22Speaker 1: We've seen people sort of be cancelled for a short
- 17:25Speaker 1: amount of time and then people just forget about the misdemeanors.
- 17:27Speaker 1: But in this case, people have not forgotten and people
- 17:30Speaker 1: are still angry.
- 17:31Speaker 2: A Perth influencer has apologised to her followers after leaving
- 17:36Speaker 2: her six-month-old son alone in a Bali hotel room while
- 17:40Speaker 2: she got a massage. So before we get into it,
- 17:43Speaker 2: can you get us up to speed with who the
- 17:45Speaker 2: influencer in question is?
- 17:46Speaker 3: Well, her name is Talia Sky.
- 17:48Speaker 1: She is a 24-year-old mother of two who shares motherhood
- 17:52Speaker 1: and lifestyle content on social media. She has 74,000 followers
- 17:56Speaker 1: on TikTok and 16,000 on Instagram. Now following the backlash,
- 18:01Speaker 1: she actually made her Instagram account private.
- 18:05Speaker 3: I'm guessing that's because the media kept.
- 18:07Speaker 1: Taking pictures of her from there to use in their stories.
- 18:11Speaker 1: I'm sure she'll make her page public again once this
- 18:14Speaker 1: is all settled down.
- 18:15Speaker 2: Yeah, and I'm sure she'll have a lot of friend
- 18:17Speaker 2: requests as well to approve. Now, Talia is currently holidaying
- 18:21Speaker 2: with her husband and two young sons in Bali. And
- 18:24Speaker 2: as you do when you're a TikToker, she's been vlogging
- 18:26Speaker 2: the trip. So in a daily vlog, she shared that
- 18:29Speaker 2: she had left her six-month-old son alone in her hotel
- 18:32Speaker 2: room while she went out to get a foot massage. Now,
- 18:35Speaker 2: this was while her husband and their four-year-old son were
- 18:38Speaker 2: out quad bike riding. And in the vision, Talia showed
- 18:41Speaker 2: herself walking around the resort holding the baby monitoring screen. Now,
- 18:45Speaker 2: allegedly in the video, she made a comment about how
- 18:48Speaker 2: the massage was next door to the resort and she
- 18:51Speaker 2: hoped the monitor would stay connected. I have to say,
- 18:54Speaker 2: I haven't actually seen the footage myself because she swiftly
- 18:57Speaker 2: deleted it after the backlash set in.
- 19:00Speaker 1: Everyone also knows how dodgy the internet is in Bali.
- 19:02Speaker 1: This makes me feel super uncomfortable. I mean, the thing
- 19:05Speaker 1: that I don't understand is even though you can see
- 19:08Speaker 1: your baby on the monitor, well, if you're that far away...
- 19:11Speaker 1: How can you do anything about it if they wake
- 19:13Speaker 1: up or something terrible happens? I just don't understand the
- 19:17Speaker 1: reasoning or the thought behind this.
- 19:19Speaker 2: Yeah, it is difficult to get your head around. It's
- 19:21Speaker 2: also rather awkward because the baby monitor Talia was using
- 19:25Speaker 2: was actually gifted to her as part of a paid partnership.
- 19:28Speaker 3: Oh, they'd be spewing.
- 19:29Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 19:30Speaker 2: So in October, she posted a video talking about the
- 19:33Speaker 2: benefits of the baby monitor and And uncomfortably, one of
- 19:36Speaker 2: those that she highlighted was how amazing the monitor's range was.
- 19:41Speaker 2: So she spoke about how she was able to still
- 19:43Speaker 2: pick up the monitor five houses away while she was
- 19:46Speaker 2: watching her oldest son on his bike. Surprisingly, that vision
- 19:49Speaker 2: is still up on TikTok.
- 19:52Speaker 3: Probably not the best promotion for the baby monitors.
- 19:54Speaker 1: I wonder if they'll be asking her to take that
- 19:57Speaker 1: content down because they won't want.
- 19:58Speaker 2: To be associated with her.
- 19:59Speaker 1: Now, concerned followers posted Talia's video on Facebook page Tea
- 20:04Speaker 1: Time as well as Reddit. And from there, the story
- 20:07Speaker 1: went viral and made international mainstream news. Even People magazine
- 20:11Speaker 1: in the US have covered this story.
- 20:13Speaker 2: I think a big part of the reason it has
- 20:16Speaker 2: generated such a strong response and, you know, internationally as
- 20:20Speaker 2: well is because many people are drawing parallels with the
- 20:24Speaker 2: Madeleine McCann case. So Madeleine disappeared in 2007 after her
- 20:29Speaker 2: parents left her in a Portugal apartment with her siblings
- 20:32Speaker 2: when they dined at a tapas bar. And I think
- 20:35Speaker 2: the fact that Talia was off doing something that is
- 20:39Speaker 2: considered self-indulgent, getting a foot massage, caused this uproar. Because
- 20:43Speaker 2: I remember at the time, Madeleine McCann's parents were absolutely
- 20:46Speaker 2: slammed because they were out to dinner and had left
- 20:49Speaker 2: their child alone. I feel like if Talia had posted saying,
- 20:52Speaker 2: oh my God, I've had to pop out of the
- 20:54Speaker 2: hotel room to attend to some emergency and I've popped
- 20:57Speaker 2: the baby monitor on, people would have been like, oh,
- 20:59Speaker 2: that's okay. But because it was something for her and
- 21:02Speaker 2: something that she didn't really have to do, it's angered
- 21:06Speaker 2: a lot of people.
- 21:06Speaker 3: It reminds me of a story we covered a couple
- 21:08Speaker 3: of years ago.
- 21:09Speaker 1: There was a US couple called Matt and Abby Howard,
- 21:12Speaker 1: and they were criticized for doing a similar thing. So
- 21:14Speaker 1: they were on a cruise ship and they got a
- 21:18Speaker 1: huge amount of backlash because they posted a photo of
- 21:21Speaker 1: them watching their baby monitor whilst they were out at
- 21:24Speaker 1: a restaurant on board.
- 21:25Speaker 3: They did have to clarify that.
- 21:27Speaker 1: Their sons were not alone when they went to dinner
- 21:29Speaker 1: and that they had someone with their kids at all times.
- 21:32Speaker 1: I think it was one of their parents was apparently
- 21:34Speaker 1: in the room with them. People didn't really believe them though.
- 21:37Speaker 1: They thought, oh, they were just trying to save themselves
- 21:39Speaker 1: from some of the criticism.
- 21:40Speaker 2: I can understand why they felt the need to defend
- 21:42Speaker 2: themselves because there is no backlash like the backlash you
- 21:46Speaker 2: receive when you're perceived to be a negligent parent, particularly
- 21:51Speaker 2: a negligent mother. And while I really don't understand what
- 21:55Speaker 2: Talia was doing in this situation, I mean, it's incredibly dangerous.
- 22:00Speaker 2: There's a part of me that feels really, really sorry
- 22:03Speaker 2: for her because the mum shaming and the pile on
- 22:06Speaker 2: going on at the moment would be so difficult to
- 22:09Speaker 2: deal with. And I think that one incident shouldn't shape
- 22:13Speaker 2: how someone is viewed as a parent.
- 22:15Speaker 1: I think it'll make her and a lot of other
- 22:17Speaker 1: parents who maybe do similar things reflect and realise maybe
- 22:21Speaker 1: that's not the right thing to do, particularly when you're
- 22:24Speaker 1: in a foreign country.
- 22:25Speaker 2: The crazy part to me is the fact that this
- 22:27Speaker 2: isn't something that people have caught her out doing. It's
- 22:30Speaker 2: something that she actually chose to post in her vlog.
- 22:34Speaker 2: So clearly it wasn't something that she thought there was
- 22:36Speaker 2: any issue with. I wonder how that feels when you
- 22:39Speaker 2: put a piece of content out like that and you're
- 22:41Speaker 2: clearly not expecting any backlash and then it just erupts
- 22:44Speaker 2: like it has.
- 22:45Speaker 3: Yeah, well, I definitely don't think she'll be doing it again.
- 22:48Speaker 1: She issued a statement on Instagram which read, I want
- 22:51Speaker 1: to address what's been circulating online. I made a poor
- 22:54Speaker 1: decision and I take full responsibility for it. Although I
- 22:57Speaker 1: was only metres away from the locked resort room and
- 23:00Speaker 1: had constant monitoring, I recognise that this did not make
- 23:03Speaker 1: the situation safe. We do have a lovely nanny here
- 23:07Speaker 1: in Bali who was unavailable that day.
- 23:09Speaker 3: That is not a justification, just context.
- 23:12Speaker 1: I understand the seriousness of my actions and I can
- 23:15Speaker 1: confidently say that this is the first and last time
- 23:18Speaker 1: it will ever happen. I don't mean to pick apart
- 23:20Speaker 1: her statement because she is a 24-year-old mum and while
- 23:24Speaker 1: the term influencer is being bandied around, I feel like
- 23:28Speaker 1: she's quite a micro-influencer in a sense.
- 23:30Speaker 2: I'd never heard of her before. She's only got a
- 23:33Speaker 2: following of 74,000 people. I doubt she has a PR
- 23:37Speaker 2: team or a management team around her. So she's clearly
- 23:39Speaker 2: written that herself. But I found the comment around, oh,
- 23:43Speaker 2: we have a lovely nanny, but she wasn't available that day.
- 23:46Speaker 2: It's like, well, then why not wait for another day
- 23:47Speaker 2: to get a foot massage? It doesn't make it any better.
- 23:50Speaker 1: I mean, it's not like getting a foot massage is
- 23:52Speaker 1: a necessity. I mean, she could have waited till her
- 23:55Speaker 1: husband and son were back from their quad biking. or
- 23:58Speaker 1: even just brought the baby along with her while she
- 24:00Speaker 1: was getting it done.
- 24:01Speaker 2: It's clear this statement didn't satisfy her naysayers because the
- 24:05Speaker 2: next day Talia released a follow-up statement addressing what she
- 24:09Speaker 2: called misinformation that was circulating online. So she wrote, I
- 24:13Speaker 2: did not leave the resort. I did not attend an appointment.
- 24:16Speaker 2: The hotel room was in my direct sight. The pool
- 24:19Speaker 2: and wellness area were only meters away. I was not
- 24:22Speaker 2: away from the room for a long period of time.
- 24:24Speaker 2: I was watching him on the monitor the entire time
- 24:27Speaker 2: and was close enough that I could access the room
- 24:29Speaker 2: in seconds if I needed to. She then finished up
- 24:32Speaker 2: by saying it wasn't an excuse, but she wanted to
- 24:34Speaker 2: correct what was being said online. Side note, how.
- 24:38Speaker 1: Stressful would it be if you did this and your
- 24:40Speaker 1: baby started waking up whilst you're midway through a foot massage?
- 24:44Speaker 3: Like, you know, what do you be like?
- 24:45Speaker 2: Oh, sorry.
- 24:45Speaker 3: Can we cut this short?
- 24:47Speaker 2: You know what I mean?
- 24:48Speaker 3: I don't even get how this is supposed to work.
- 24:50Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 24:50Speaker 2: I mean, could you just quickly wipe that oil off
- 24:51Speaker 2: my feet while I run to my hotel room?
- 24:53Speaker 1: The other thing I don't get is in Bali, a
- 24:55Speaker 1: lot of these services you can request from your room
- 24:58Speaker 1: or villa. I mean, when we were in Bali for
- 25:00Speaker 1: our 30th, which seems like a lifetime ago now, we
- 25:03Speaker 1: had people come to the villas to do massages for us.
- 25:06Speaker 3: I wonder if that was a service that they offered.
- 25:09Speaker 2: I'm thinking back to our honeymoon. We literally had masseuses
- 25:12Speaker 2: come in and give us massages in the living room.
- 25:15Speaker 2: So yeah, it doesn't really make a lot of sense.
- 25:18Speaker 1: As you can expect, Talia has limited comments on her
- 25:21Speaker 1: TikTok because what she's probably receiving at the moment is
- 25:25Speaker 1: absolutely awful.
- 25:26Speaker 3: What's made it a little.
- 25:27Speaker 1: Bit awkward though is she has allowed a couple of
- 25:29Speaker 1: comments to come through where people are throwing their support
- 25:32Speaker 1: behind her, calling her a great mum. It just looks
- 25:35Speaker 1: a bit strange when there's only a handful of comments
- 25:37Speaker 1: and then everything else is just quiet.
- 25:39Speaker 2: My advice to her is don't go live on TikTok
- 25:41Speaker 2: for a while.
- 25:43Speaker 4: No.
- 25:45Speaker 2: Darling, you're a loser.
- 25:47Speaker 6: Honestly.
- 25:49Speaker 1: Brittany Saunders has hit back at critics who slammed her
- 25:52Speaker 1: clothing brand's first influencer trip. The event dubbed Fate Estates
- 25:56Speaker 1: saw influencers whisked away to a Tuscan-inspired villa in Byron
- 26:00Speaker 1: Bay for the weekend. Now, Kate, we spoke about this
- 26:03Speaker 1: on Friday's show because the event quickly began trending on TikTok.
- 26:07Speaker 2: Yeah, and the feedback was mostly positive. So many people
- 26:09Speaker 2: were praising Fate's inclusive guest list. However, there was a
- 26:14Speaker 2: corner of the internet who started questioning why competition winners
- 26:18Speaker 2: were put up in hotels instead of staying alongside influencers
- 26:22Speaker 2: at the estate. On Friday's show, we discussed how ridiculous
- 26:25Speaker 2: it was and people actually need to give Britt Saunders kudos. Now,
- 26:29Speaker 2: since then, Brittany has come out and defended her decision.
- 26:33Speaker 2: Let's take a listen to what she said on TikTok.
- 26:36Speaker 4: Newsflash, I didn't stay at the Fayette Estate house, neither
- 26:38Speaker 4: did myself. We stayed in some accommodation down the road.
- 26:43Speaker 2: But that's not the point.
- 26:44Speaker 4: The point is, no matter what you do, especially when
- 26:47Speaker 4: you're a female business owner in Australia, people are always
- 26:50Speaker 4: going to think that it's not good enough. And I
- 26:52Speaker 4: think my biggest takeaway from doing Fade Estate, there's a lot,
- 26:56Speaker 4: is that I don't give a shit anymore because what
- 27:00Speaker 4: I'm doing is for the people that want to be
- 27:02Speaker 4: a part of it and support it. And if people
- 27:06Speaker 4: aren't for supporting a female-owned and funded and focused business
- 27:10Speaker 4: in Australia, solo-owned and funded, may I add, then they
- 27:15Speaker 4: can just go and support and be part of something else.
- 27:19Speaker 1: I couldn't agree more with what she said. I mean,
- 27:21Speaker 1: this is just a massive case of tall poppy syndrome.
- 27:25Speaker 1: Instead of actually celebrating Brit for putting on such an
- 27:28Speaker 1: incredible event, which really gained so much traction online, people
- 27:32Speaker 1: instead wanted to pick holes with anything that they could
- 27:35Speaker 1: find it almost felt like faux outrage. Like I felt
- 27:38Speaker 1: like people were just like, oh, let's find something that
- 27:40Speaker 1: we can drag her for.
- 27:41Speaker 2: Yeah, it's disappointing that this always happens to influencers who
- 27:45Speaker 2: are trying their best. Like, okay, I'm all for holding
- 27:49Speaker 2: brands accountable that don't do the right thing. But I
- 27:52Speaker 2: think it's incredibly wrong. to go out of your way
- 27:55Speaker 2: to pick holes in something when someone is trying their
- 27:58Speaker 2: absolute best to make it as inclusive as possible.
- 28:01Speaker 1: Particularly because she did ensure that this was a hybrid event,
- 28:04Speaker 1: which celebrated both influencers and her customers. I mean, it's
- 28:08Speaker 1: very clear that not all of the influencers even stayed
- 28:11Speaker 1: at Fate Estate. Some were bussed in with the competition winners.
- 28:15Speaker 1: I mean, even Britt didn't stay at Fate Estate for
- 28:17Speaker 1: God's sake.
- 28:18Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 28:19Speaker 2: I love that Britt actually came out and stood up
- 28:20Speaker 2: for herself though, because She went on to say that
- 28:23Speaker 2: she believes her brand created history in the marketing and
- 28:27Speaker 2: influencer space by pulling off an epic event, which people loved.
- 28:31Speaker 3: She really did.
- 28:31Speaker 1: And I think that a lot of brands are going
- 28:33Speaker 1: to use her event as a blueprint for future influencer
- 28:36Speaker 1: events that they hold.
- 28:38Speaker 2: Now, Brit didn't stop there. She also addressed the commentary
- 28:42Speaker 2: on Reddit that the accommodation was quote, povo. What an
- 28:46Speaker 2: Australian word. Let's take a listen to how Brit responded
- 28:49Speaker 2: because it was classic.
- 28:51Speaker 4: I'm not doing what I'm doing for those people that
- 28:53Speaker 4: sit online and go, this isn't good enough. The customers
- 28:56Speaker 4: are in Povo accommodation. Povo had beachfront views. Thank you
- 29:02Speaker 4: very much. I wish I was staying there. You know,
- 29:05Speaker 4: it's just no matter what we do, there's always going
- 29:07Speaker 4: to be people, you know, saying something. And it's just
- 29:11Speaker 4: so rich. because you know I can be trying the
- 29:14Speaker 4: most I can be trying to include everyone I can
- 29:17Speaker 4: try to be growing my business you know which is
- 29:19Speaker 4: what I'm trying to do I'm trying to grow my
- 29:21Speaker 4: business in Australia and people will shit on it but
- 29:26Speaker 4: they're the same sort of.
- 29:26Speaker 3: People be like yeah we love supporting businesses and I'm all.
- 29:29Speaker 4: For female empowerment but then they just shit on people
- 29:32Speaker 4: trying to actually do something.
- 29:35Speaker 1: Why did Brit saying povo remind me so much of
- 29:38Speaker 1: Jamaican using the word I feel like this was a
- 29:40Speaker 1: word that we used a lot at high school but
- 29:42Speaker 1: I don't really hear it anymore yeah it.
- 29:44Speaker 2: Kind of reminds me of the word festy like you
- 29:46Speaker 2: don't hear festy a lot but when it's brought up
- 29:48Speaker 2: it just takes me back to that time in my
- 29:49Speaker 2: life when it was used a lot why does it
- 29:52Speaker 2: remind me of the word fugly as well these are all.
- 29:55Speaker 1: Jamaican anyway Britt then went on to remind her followers
- 29:58Speaker 1: that Fate is completely self-funded and she doesn't have outside
- 30:02Speaker 1: investors involved.
- 30:04Speaker 3: She isn't owned by a parent company of billionaire men.
- 30:06Speaker 1: So she's confused why people are being so critical of her.
- 30:10Speaker 1: She also pointed out that her label does sizes between
- 30:14Speaker 1: 6 and 26 in women's clothes, a feat that many
- 30:17Speaker 1: larger labels have haven't been able to achieve. I mean,
- 30:21Speaker 1: as I touched on before, it just seems like the
- 30:22Speaker 1: brands who do the most are then the most criticized
- 30:25Speaker 1: and the most under the microscope, which doesn't make any sense.
- 30:29Speaker 1: It's like, if you want to spend your time trying
- 30:32Speaker 1: to make brands do better, then go look elsewhere because
- 30:36Speaker 1: fate's already doing a good job. I want to take
- 30:39Speaker 1: some credit for Brit speaking out about this matter because
- 30:43Speaker 1: She was spurred on by Lucy Jackson, who was spurred
- 30:46Speaker 1: on by our podcast. So Lucy put up a car
- 30:49Speaker 1: rant saying this.
- 30:52Speaker 6: People are so fucking crazy online. Oh, I don't know why,
- 30:57Speaker 6: but this has really struck a chord with me. I
- 30:59Speaker 6: think because I just think Brit is actually doing the
- 31:02Speaker 6: most by being so inclusive with everyone. She gives back
- 31:07Speaker 6: to her customers. And you guys are still... Oh, going
- 31:12Speaker 6: to find something to whinge about. Like this is fucking,
- 31:16Speaker 6: I think I'm having a psychotic break. You cannot win.
- 31:19Speaker 6: And everyone that's fucking whinging, I urge you to start
- 31:23Speaker 6: a fucking business in this day and age and fucking
- 31:26Speaker 6: be able to be everything to everyone and make everyone happy.
- 31:30Speaker 5: Because I own a business.
- 31:31Speaker 6: It's fucking hard work.
- 31:33Speaker 2: I love how passionate she was about this. Her TikTok
- 31:36Speaker 2: is one of my favorites at the moment because she
- 31:38Speaker 2: really doesn't hold back.
- 31:39Speaker 1: I love how she had to preface in the comment
- 31:41Speaker 1: section that we were being supportive of Brit. Like our
- 31:43Speaker 1: topic wasn't slamming her for the event. Cause when I
- 31:46Speaker 1: first listened to it, I was like, holy fuck. I
- 31:48Speaker 1: hope no one thinks that we were the dickheads who
- 31:49Speaker 1: were like, she's not doing enough.
- 31:51Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 31:51Speaker 2: That worried me as well.
- 31:52Speaker 1: But yes, thank you Lucy for having our back in
- 31:54Speaker 1: the comment section because We all know what TikTok's like.
- 31:57Speaker 2: Someone gets the wrong end of the stick and then
- 31:59Speaker 2: runs with it.
- 31:59Speaker 1: I mean, I think the reason that this struck such
- 32:01Speaker 1: a chord with Lucy is because she also runs a
- 32:04Speaker 1: clothing brand.
- 32:05Speaker 3: She and Nikki have Jagger and Stone.
- 32:07Speaker 1: Now, Lucy finished the video pretty iconically saying this.
- 32:11Speaker 5: Also, the people in the comment section having a whinge
- 32:14Speaker 5: about not getting invited. It's, you're the last person I'd
- 32:18Speaker 5: want to invite to my birthday party. Like someone that like,
- 32:21Speaker 5: you know, has a whinge about that kind of a thing.
- 32:23Speaker 1: Like, darling. You're a loser, honestly. This is the type
- 32:30Speaker 1: of energy I like in 2026 because I think there
- 32:34Speaker 1: was a period of time where influencers were too scared
- 32:36Speaker 1: to say what they really think. And this is a
- 32:39Speaker 1: case of someone who's right, who's completely 100% correct. Like
- 32:43Speaker 1: you wouldn't want these people at your birthday party and
- 32:45Speaker 1: they are losers. And I'm glad we're in a safe
- 32:48Speaker 1: space now where we can actually say it.
- 32:51Speaker 2: And pat her on the back about it.
- 32:52Speaker 1: Why does this remind me of a comment that you
- 32:54Speaker 1: would say, Kate, if you were allowed to be unfiltered,
- 32:57Speaker 1: like calling these people losers? Maybe Lucy Jackson is the
- 33:02Speaker 1: unfiltered version of you or the extroverted version of you
- 33:06Speaker 1: that you wish you could be.
- 33:07Speaker 3: Again, with the kicked in the dick comment.
- 33:09Speaker 1: Like, you know what I mean?
- 33:10Speaker 2: Just the cooler version of me.
- 33:11Speaker 1: The cooler version, who you aspire to be. On that note,
- 33:16Speaker 1: I think that is all we have time for today.
- 33:18Speaker 1: Thank you so much for joining us for this episode.
- 33:20Speaker 1: If you have enjoyed it, could you please make sure
- 33:23Speaker 1: you are subscribed on Apple Podcasts and also Spotify.
- 33:27Speaker 2: And if you want to hear more from us, we
- 33:28Speaker 2: drop a bonus episode of Outspoken every Thursday. And this
- 33:32Speaker 2: one's quite juicy, Sophie, because, I mean, I've been told
- 33:35Speaker 2: I'm not allowed to mention it on the main show,
- 33:37Speaker 2: but you mention your connection to the 60 Minutes journalist
- 33:41Speaker 2: who's gone viral recently.
- 33:44Speaker 1: Yes.
- 33:47Speaker 3: Oh, I do.
- 33:48Speaker 2: You're selling me up the garden path here. I mean,
- 33:50Speaker 2: he's making headlines. People are saying he's quite hot.
- 33:53Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 33:54Speaker 3: Well, he's a lovely guy.
- 33:55Speaker 1: We used to work together in Adelaide and Maybe my
- 33:58Speaker 1: story is status-mogging a little bit there.
- 34:01Speaker 3: That's all I'll say.
- 34:02Speaker 2: Yes, we are status-mogging off Adam Hegarty at this point.
- 34:05Speaker 2: But anyway, if you want to know what we're actually
- 34:08Speaker 2: talking about, you will need to listen to that episode
- 34:10Speaker 2: of Outspoken Plus. All the details to subscribe are in
- 34:13Speaker 2: the show notes.
- 34:15Speaker 3: As long as the Daily Mail doesn't go and run
- 34:17Speaker 3: me something from that.
- 34:19Speaker 2: Why not?
- 34:19Speaker 1: I'd be happy to get some free publicity for the
- 34:21Speaker 1: podcast off the back of that. Now for our listeners
- 34:24Speaker 1: who are mums, we also have a second podcast called
- 34:27Speaker 1: The Mums Group. It has been running for a couple
- 34:30Speaker 1: of months now and we have been very kind and
- 34:32Speaker 1: been doing feed drops in Outspoken's feed.
- 34:34Speaker 2: But please help us out. Go follow The Mums Group
- 34:38Speaker 2: on Spotify or Apple Podcasts or wherever you get your
- 34:40Speaker 2: podcasts so we can stop doing those feed drops because
- 34:43Speaker 2: we know you're listening to it. We just need you
- 34:45Speaker 2: to go across to that main feed. It's just a
- 34:47Speaker 2: couple of clicks.
- 34:48Speaker 3: It's not difficult. Even I can do it.
- 34:49Speaker 1: Now, this episode was recorded on the traditional land of
- 34:52Speaker 1: the Kaurna people of the Adelaide Plains.
- 34:54Speaker 3: We pay respect to elders past and present.
