- 0:02Speaker 1: Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, at your favorite time
- 0:05Speaker 1: of week when you get to download the crazy shit.
- 0:07Speaker 1: Get you something cold to drink. Maybe you're on your
- 0:09Speaker 1: way to work, maybe you're going to walk, maybe you're
- 0:11Speaker 1: for a runner at the gym. We don't care. We're
- 0:13Speaker 1: just happy to have you. I'm marking. I'm here in
- 0:15Speaker 1: the college football podcasting studio. My man Scotti's at home, brother,
- 0:18Speaker 1: and today we are going to put on the belt,
- 0:21Speaker 1: buckle it up tight and talk a little Sun Belt football.
- 0:24Speaker 1: Are you ready for that?
- 0:25Speaker 2: Man? I feel like I'm in a time war. We're
- 0:27Speaker 2: gonna be talking about visions.
- 0:29Speaker 1: Only team left, only conference left that has divisions is
- 0:35Speaker 1: the Sun Belt. I love the Sun Belt, man. I
- 0:37Speaker 1: think these guys have done a phenomenal job of figuring
- 0:41Speaker 1: out who they are as a conference, as a brand.
- 0:44Speaker 1: I love bringing in James Madison to the fold here.
- 0:47Speaker 1: They had a postal a few years ago. The sun
- 0:49Speaker 1: Belt to me is kind of like where the Mac
- 0:51Speaker 1: was ten years ago.
- 0:53Speaker 2: No doubt about it. They crushed CUSA. I mean just
- 0:57Speaker 2: just crushed them. And when you look originally at Conference USA,
- 1:02Speaker 2: I think people always thought of it. It's just a
- 1:04Speaker 2: tier above the sun Belt traditionally, and the sun Belt
- 1:08Speaker 2: has made some tremendous moves. I think bringing in teams.
- 1:12Speaker 2: I think if Liberty had it to do all over again,
- 1:15Speaker 2: they are begging to get in the Sun Belt. So
- 1:18Speaker 2: I do I like this league. I think it's fun.
- 1:21Speaker 2: They get a lot of talent from look, they're playing
- 1:24Speaker 2: in the Southeastern Conference states. I mean, that's the deal.
- 1:26Speaker 2: And there's a lot of talent down here. There's a
- 1:29Speaker 2: lot of talent that the big schools miss. There's guys
- 1:32Speaker 2: that are five foot ten that are electric with a
- 1:35Speaker 2: football or five foot nine that are electric with the football,
- 1:38Speaker 2: and that those guys end up in the Sunbelt. And
- 1:41Speaker 2: it is a fun league to watch. It is some
- 1:46Speaker 2: places where coaches cut their teeth right now. I think GJ.
- 1:51Speaker 2: Kenny is the next big guy coming out of this league.
- 1:54Speaker 2: But I mean you look at schools that have put
- 1:56Speaker 2: big coaches in out at the state Mars. I mean,
- 2:00Speaker 2: Georgia Southern's got the x USC coach in Clay Hilton.
- 2:04Speaker 2: James Madison just put a Power five coach out. Uh.
- 2:07Speaker 2: Just some some some some schools that coaches really kind
- 2:11Speaker 2: of bump up. Also interesting, Major Applewhite our head coach
- 2:17Speaker 2: in the sun Belt. I am fascinated to see how
- 2:21Speaker 2: this goes. So anyway, we'll we'll we'll dive into that
- 2:24Speaker 2: as we dive into all these teams. But I think
- 2:26Speaker 2: some Belt is gonna be a fun league. I think
- 2:28Speaker 2: Texas State's gonna be a good football team. So I'm
- 2:30Speaker 2: excited to talk about those guys. I think they're gonna
- 2:33Speaker 2: be extremely good on offense, exciting to watch. They're gonna
- 2:38Speaker 2: be in some shootouts. They were in a bunch of
- 2:41Speaker 2: shootouts last year, So I mean, I think they're a
- 2:43Speaker 2: team that you're gonna be able to get some value.
- 2:45Speaker 2: They've got a couple of big games, and if I'm
- 2:48Speaker 2: right about this team, we may be able to win some
- 2:50Speaker 2: money in September.
- 2:52Speaker 1: I like who you're here. I can't figure that if
- 2:54Speaker 1: I'm a major Apple white guy, I was an Apple
- 2:57Speaker 1: white guy back in the day.
- 2:58Speaker 2: I'm not.
- 3:00Speaker 1: I don't think he has some weird like hookup with
- 3:03Speaker 1: student issues that come out. And then remember when he
- 3:06Speaker 1: was at You of Age, they thought that he was
- 3:08Speaker 1: like the guy that was going to take him there. Uh,
- 3:11Speaker 1: and then he got into the argument with the Ed
- 3:14Speaker 1: Oliver on the sidelines at one of the games on
- 3:16Speaker 1: TV on like a Thursday night. Yeah, so that kind
- 3:19Speaker 1: of cost him his job.
- 3:22Speaker 2: Basically got fired at Alabama saving didn't think he worked
- 3:25Speaker 2: hard enough. I mean that is that that's un good.
- 3:28Speaker 2: You get that job, you want to you want to
- 3:30Speaker 2: be able to stay on staff. But uh, he it
- 3:33Speaker 2: did not work out. So interesting just I shouldn't say
- 3:37Speaker 2: that that that he wasn't because he didn't work hard enough.
- 3:40Speaker 2: I think the official word is that's conjecture on my part,
- 3:43Speaker 2: but the official word is that they decided to go
- 3:47Speaker 2: different directions I think would be the way. But I
- 3:50Speaker 2: think we can all read the tea leaves there.
- 3:53Speaker 1: I like this, use the word conjecture. That's a fancy
- 3:56Speaker 1: word for our podcast.
- 3:57Speaker 2: You like that, don't you have Lauris out and thought
- 4:00Speaker 2: I may start trying to mix the Sarrow's word in
- 4:03Speaker 2: every down now and then just to make every right
- 4:04Speaker 2: think I'm no longer from Mississippi.
- 4:08Speaker 1: I mean, I'm usually trying not to curse and I
- 4:10Speaker 1: can't stop myself, and then making up words like un
- 4:13Speaker 1: good and strate jury and things like that. So anyway,
- 4:17Speaker 1: Sun Belt Conference, a couple of things we'll do. Group
- 4:20Speaker 1: of five all the way up until we get to
- 4:22Speaker 1: week zero. Put some plays out there. If you're betting
- 4:25Speaker 1: on Group of five teams, I highly recommend you kind
- 4:29Speaker 1: of wait to pull the trigger until you get closer
- 4:32Speaker 1: to the actual conference starting, if you're betting conference totals,
- 4:35Speaker 1: if you're betting win totals, if you're betting season on bets.
- 4:38Speaker 1: Only reason is these teams just don't have a lot
- 4:41Speaker 1: of depth. And if you start getting some injury clusters
- 4:43Speaker 1: in camp, that could really turn things around, and you
- 4:46Speaker 1: may not get that news until right before the season starts.
- 4:49Speaker 1: So that's just my warning to you on these these schools.
- 4:53Speaker 1: Obviously there's gonna be a lot of roster churn on
- 4:56Speaker 1: these schools. You've got guys that are coming down from
- 4:59Speaker 1: Power five, you got guys that are coming from juco fcs.
- 5:03Speaker 1: Everybody in the Group of five I think is trying
- 5:05Speaker 1: to figure out the formula to help them build a
- 5:08Speaker 1: roster because it's difficult, man. And like you look at
- 5:12Speaker 1: you look at some of these rosters from last year
- 5:14Speaker 1: this year Texas State, it's a great example. I mean
- 5:16Speaker 1: they I think this team's gonna be really good. I
- 5:19Speaker 1: think they've got some great pieces back but there's a
- 5:21Speaker 1: lot of churn on that roster, and you know, and
- 5:23Speaker 1: then you you skip down to a Georgia State John Elliott,
- 5:28Speaker 1: you know, three days in the spring camp. Besides, he's
- 5:31Speaker 1: gonna step down to spend time with his family. I
- 5:34Speaker 1: don't know what's going on there. That's kind of shitty
- 5:36Speaker 1: in my you know, in my mind, it's like leaving
- 5:38Speaker 1: those guys like that because now you've got them committed
- 5:41Speaker 1: to your team, they're locked in at least till the
- 5:43Speaker 1: end of the semester, and then you're gonna bail in
- 5:45Speaker 1: spring camp. So there's a lot of churn on these rosters.
- 5:48Speaker 1: So you really, I suggest waiting up until you get like, hey,
- 5:52Speaker 1: week one, we got a roster, it's set. You got
- 5:55Speaker 1: the beat writers that are all in there. Everybody knows
- 5:57Speaker 1: what's going on. What are your thoughts on that.
- 6:00Speaker 2: I'm fascinated. Couldn't agree more on the roster churn. They
- 6:03Speaker 2: get tons of guys coming in from small schools. I mean, look,
- 6:06Speaker 2: let's let's face it. You get guys bouncing down from
- 6:09Speaker 2: the big schools. I mean, I mean, it doesn't take
- 6:12Speaker 2: I'm staring at some info on Texas State right now
- 6:15Speaker 2: and you start looking at transfers in James Madison, Houston, Florida, Houston,
- 6:20Speaker 2: I mean those are those are what you're get in Cincinnati,
- 6:23Speaker 2: U c F Houston, Illinois, Colorado. I mean it's that's
- 6:27Speaker 2: that's what you're getting. Tons of guys bumping down, and
- 6:30Speaker 2: then you get the guys who have a great year
- 6:33Speaker 2: and if they've got any size or any marketable skills,
- 6:37Speaker 2: had a Power four or really a power to program boom,
- 6:41Speaker 2: they're gone. I mean, if there's a Texas or a
- 6:44Speaker 2: Texas Tech or anybody who thinks they can use a
- 6:46Speaker 2: guy from Texas State, he's gone because they simply can't
- 6:49Speaker 2: match the money. I mean, that is the that's the difference.
- 6:52Speaker 2: So yep, but that's to me, a lot of that
- 6:55Speaker 2: churn is what makes this league exciting. It's a lot
- 6:58Speaker 2: of new faces. There's explosive guys. Make no mistake, mid
- 7:03Speaker 2: level guy not seeing a lot of snaps at a
- 7:06Speaker 2: mid level Southeastern Conference school, pops down to pops down
- 7:10Speaker 2: to the Sun Belt man, he may be all conference
- 7:13Speaker 2: because there's a reason that guy was a power five
- 7:16Speaker 2: guy or power four guy coming out of high school
- 7:19Speaker 2: to begin with. So it's it's interesting to watch how
- 7:22Speaker 2: all this works. I think Jordan McLeod transferring in from
- 7:25Speaker 2: James Madison to me is the most interesting move in
- 7:31Speaker 2: the sun Belt. I mean, that is the I was
- 7:34Speaker 2: actually very surprised he did not get a get a
- 7:37Speaker 2: shot you know somewhere, you know, somewhere else he was.
- 7:40Speaker 2: He was the best quarterback in this league last year.
- 7:43Speaker 2: Now he goes to what I think is probably the
- 7:45Speaker 2: best offensive mind in this league. And boy, it's gonna
- 7:49Speaker 2: be an exciting look at this at this team. I
- 7:52Speaker 2: think Texas State, like I said, it's got a chance
- 7:55Speaker 2: to be a really really good football team. And if
- 7:57Speaker 2: they meet or exceed that win total that they had
- 8:01Speaker 2: last year, I think J. G. Kenny is finding himself
- 8:04Speaker 2: at a bigger school because he was already getting some
- 8:07Speaker 2: run for some of the jobs last year, and I
- 8:09Speaker 2: think he absolutely gets that shot this year.
- 8:14Speaker 1: All right, brother, you ready to do this?
- 8:16Speaker 2: Jump in, ready to do it.
- 8:17Speaker 1: You're here. Let's do conference. Let's do We've done athletical
- 8:20Speaker 1: order in every other conference. Let's do Eastern West here
- 8:23Speaker 1: since it's the only one that still has the size
- 8:25Speaker 1: that we've got. Let's jump out East first. Rolling in here,
- 8:28Speaker 1: Appy State, I swear to God, I think we're the
- 8:31Speaker 1: people that coined the name on that. When I saw
- 8:32Speaker 1: it last year on Twitter, I got so excited Appy
- 8:35Speaker 1: State rolling in here. This has easily been one of
- 8:38Speaker 1: the best group of five programs minus Poise State, I
- 8:40Speaker 1: would say over the last ten years. If you're old
- 8:43Speaker 1: enough to remember where this team came onto the national
- 8:45Speaker 1: spotlight a long long time ago, it was the Blackfield
- 8:48Speaker 1: goal to beat Michigan at the Big House that put
- 8:50Speaker 1: Appalachian State completely on the map. They've churned through some
- 8:54Speaker 1: great coaches with this in his program, and really this
- 8:57Speaker 1: has just been the sign of consistency. They There's very
- 9:00Speaker 1: few home field advantages in the Sun Belt my personal opinion,
- 9:04Speaker 1: but I think going to Boon is one. You're back there,
- 9:07Speaker 1: tucked away and they you know, the mountains in North
- 9:09Speaker 1: Carolina got a little bit of elevation. They roll out. Man.
- 9:13Speaker 1: They get great fan bases to show up for these teams.
- 9:16Speaker 1: Last year, this team was ninety five six and two
- 9:19Speaker 1: in the Sun Belt. They returned Sean Clark their head coach.
- 9:22Speaker 1: They returned quite a bit of production on this squad.
- 9:24Speaker 1: When you're looking at this team, the over under win
- 9:26Speaker 1: total on this one. I think it's six and a half.
- 9:28Speaker 1: It's eight and a half. I'll confirm that as you
- 9:30Speaker 1: get rolling here, But their odds to win the conference
- 9:33Speaker 1: are two seventy five. Where I like this team. I
- 9:36Speaker 1: think this team's gonna probably I think that the class
- 9:39Speaker 1: of this of the East is going to be Appy
- 9:42Speaker 1: State and James Madison in my personal opinion, And I
- 9:45Speaker 1: love their schedule. They open up with Etsu which should
- 9:47Speaker 1: be a blowout, and then the second game they've got
- 9:50Speaker 1: us at Clemson. Now, the reason I bring this up
- 9:53Speaker 1: is Clemson's going to be coming off with that Georgia
- 9:55Speaker 1: game week one, so this is a great spot for
- 9:58Speaker 1: a look ahead that you could catch an Happy State
- 10:01Speaker 1: team here that's gonna be licking their chops and ready
- 10:03Speaker 1: to roll. And so do the rest of their schedule
- 10:06Speaker 1: at East Carolina and South Alabama. Then they match up
- 10:08Speaker 1: against Liberty, which I thought was interesting. I think they
- 10:11Speaker 1: could wood shed Liberty, but I think that's gonna be
- 10:13Speaker 1: a great game that probably gets overlooked by a lot
- 10:16Speaker 1: of folks at Marshall ul all the way through. I
- 10:19Speaker 1: like Happy State a lot here. I've got this team
- 10:21Speaker 1: coming in second in the East, and I think they're
- 10:25Speaker 1: over under win total. I think this team probably wins
- 10:27Speaker 1: nine games to win this season. What's your thoughts, bro,
- 10:29Speaker 1: So you like them? You like them over the eight
- 10:32Speaker 1: and a half, I don't disagree. I think this is
- 10:35Speaker 1: probably the best team in this league. They return what
- 10:37Speaker 1: is the second best? Gagoalar was a good player for
- 10:39Speaker 1: him last year as well. He was second team All
- 10:41Speaker 1: Sun Belt. So interested to see what this team does.
- 10:44Speaker 2: Sean Clark's out outperformed what I initially thought he would
- 10:47Speaker 2: do as a as a higher He's done a really,
- 10:50Speaker 2: really good job for these guys.
- 10:52Speaker 1: I thought they'd step back when they lost Drinklewitz, but
- 10:55Speaker 1: I think he's done a great job.
- 10:56Speaker 2: Yeah, he's done a tremendous job. You bring up the
- 10:58Speaker 2: Clemson in the East care line of games, I'm gonna
- 11:01Speaker 2: tell you two things. To go a little deeper in
- 11:04Speaker 2: that schedule they play at Clemson. Couldn't agree more. That
- 11:06Speaker 2: has got, that's got these guys have shown repeatedly. I
- 11:11Speaker 2: don't know how many times they got to do it,
- 11:12Speaker 2: whether it's North Carolina last year in double overtime, you know,
- 11:17Speaker 2: beating East Carolina, beating East Carolina. However you want to
- 11:20Speaker 2: do it beaten Texas A and m a couple of
- 11:23Speaker 2: years ago on the road, given Miami all they wanted
- 11:26Speaker 2: on the road a couple of years ago. Week two.
- 11:29Speaker 2: I mean, you look at what this team's done against
- 11:31Speaker 2: some of the big schools. They beat North Carolina in
- 11:33Speaker 2: twenty nineteen on the road. These guys have shown they're
- 11:36Speaker 2: not scared early in the season to go take it on.
- 11:39Speaker 2: With a returning quarterback, he's not gonna be intimidated. Been
- 11:43Speaker 2: in these ball games. I think you're one hundred percent
- 11:46Speaker 2: right that has got a shot to be upset city,
- 11:50Speaker 2: but certainly closer than probably the experts will think. And
- 11:54Speaker 2: then the flip side's probably true. Going back on the
- 11:56Speaker 2: road again at East Carolina, a team they beatlast year,
- 12:00Speaker 2: going I think I think they're the better football team,
- 12:04Speaker 2: but you let them go win at Clemson, and Buddy,
- 12:07Speaker 2: you talked about flat, they may be flat as a
- 12:10Speaker 2: pancake rolling up to East Carolina and Greenville. So we'll see.
- 12:14Speaker 2: That's again just things in the early season. To take
- 12:17Speaker 2: a look at the rest of the schedule. Pretty manageable. Uh,
- 12:20Speaker 2: they do play some of the better teams in the
- 12:23Speaker 2: league on the road. They're at Marshall at Louisiana at
- 12:26Speaker 2: Georgia Southern. That's three of the best, probably five or
- 12:29Speaker 2: six teams in this league. So some of the better teams.
- 12:32Speaker 2: They also get liberty at home, so in the in
- 12:36Speaker 2: non con So when you when you look at you
- 12:40Speaker 2: look at this schedule, there's some games they can lose
- 12:44Speaker 2: for just where they fall and things like that. So
- 12:47Speaker 2: I'll be interested to see. There's six road games, and
- 12:49Speaker 2: I would say all six of them are pretty tough games,
- 12:52Speaker 2: Coastal Carolina being the easiest. So really five that I
- 12:55Speaker 2: think are are pretty tough games. So it's gonna be
- 12:57Speaker 2: an interesting team to watch. But from a roster standpoint,
- 13:01Speaker 2: I think this is probably the most talented team in
- 13:03Speaker 2: this division, and I think they end up winning this side.
- 13:09Speaker 1: Ooh, we'll see, brother, if I got my play, I'm
- 13:11Speaker 1: going a way a little front down the Lanks to
- 13:13Speaker 1: get there. Let's go the next one, brother, Coastal Carolina,
- 13:16Speaker 1: the boys on the teal turf from the dirty myrtle.
- 13:19Speaker 1: This team has just come on the scene so much
- 13:21Speaker 1: in the last five to six years, and I hold
- 13:23Speaker 1: a lot of that to the quarterback. It's not there anymore.
- 13:25Speaker 1: Grayson M. Call. He's transferred out from this program. This
- 13:28Speaker 1: program brings in the new coach in Tim Beck. They
- 13:31Speaker 1: finished eight and five last season. They're five and three
- 13:33Speaker 1: in the Sun Belt. I am selling this team hard
- 13:38Speaker 1: this year. I've got little faith that they're going to
- 13:40Speaker 1: hit their over under win total. It's at six and
- 13:43Speaker 1: a half. They open up at Jacksonville State, which that
- 13:45Speaker 1: game is going to be harder than people think. I'd
- 13:47Speaker 1: love me some Rich Rod. I thought he did a
- 13:49Speaker 1: good job with the ass kick and chickens last year.
- 13:52Speaker 1: Then you got Bill and Mary at Temple. They're going
- 13:54Speaker 1: to be awful. You've a I've got nothing Old Domino,
- 13:57Speaker 1: James Madison. You can roll through the schedule in detail
- 14:00Speaker 1: where I think this team's last year, this team was
- 14:01Speaker 1: really streaky. They went on a run where they won
- 14:04Speaker 1: five six games in a row, and then they would
- 14:06Speaker 1: dump to and so there was just a level of
- 14:08Speaker 1: consistency they couldn't get there. Grayson McColl was hurt for
- 14:11Speaker 1: Big Chucks in the season last year, and I think
- 14:13Speaker 1: that really he was just the field general that kept
- 14:16Speaker 1: that thing rolling in Beck's first year as they transitioned
- 14:19Speaker 1: out of it, I think this team takes a step back.
- 14:21Speaker 1: I've already bet this team at under six and a
- 14:24Speaker 1: half wins at plus juice. That's one of my big
- 14:27Speaker 1: plays for the sun Beck Conference. What do you think
- 14:29Speaker 1: about the dirty Birds, the shout the clears.
- 14:31Speaker 2: You know what. I think they're middle of the pack.
- 14:34Speaker 2: And what is an a you know what's an average league.
- 14:37Speaker 2: I think that's probably right where. I think the over
- 14:40Speaker 2: under win total is probably right where they need to be. Look,
- 14:42Speaker 2: they're at James Madison, They're at Troy, at Marshall, and
- 14:46Speaker 2: at Georgia State. They're probably going to lose all four
- 14:48Speaker 2: of those games on the Roadie, So I mean that
- 14:51Speaker 2: doesn't give you, that doesn't give you much room. They
- 14:54Speaker 2: get Appleach and stayed at home, and then they get
- 14:56Speaker 2: Georgia Southern at home. At Georgia State, they'll probably be
- 15:00Speaker 2: because I do think Georgia State's probably the worst team
- 15:02Speaker 2: in the league. But they got Georgia Southern the week
- 15:05Speaker 2: before that. I think this team's going to be reeling
- 15:08Speaker 2: at the end of the year. They got Louisiana at home,
- 15:10Speaker 2: they played Virginia at home. You know so well, I
- 15:14Speaker 2: don't think Virginia is any good either. They're certainly a
- 15:17Speaker 2: better roster than this so and then they're at Jacksonville
- 15:20Speaker 2: State as well, so be interesting to see how this
- 15:23Speaker 2: team shakes out. I agree with you, I do not.
- 15:26Speaker 2: I do not think this team is going to certainly
- 15:30Speaker 2: be what people have been expecting from Coastal Carolina, and
- 15:34Speaker 2: I think the books are probably going to try to
- 15:36Speaker 2: take advantage, especially these first four or five weeks of
- 15:40Speaker 2: everyone thinking Coastal is better than they are and it
- 15:44Speaker 2: being the Coastal of past and I think that's gonna
- 15:47Speaker 2: be kind of baked into some numbers knowing that this
- 15:51Speaker 2: team's not gonna be as good. So I'll be interest.
- 15:53Speaker 2: This is a team I'm fascinated to watch. I just
- 15:56Speaker 2: think they're mad. I think there's a lot I think
- 15:57Speaker 2: there's teams a better upside. I'm not a huge fan
- 16:00Speaker 2: of Noah Kim that's the quarterback they're bringing over from
- 16:02Speaker 2: Michigan State. I mean, look, they were abysmal at nine touchdowns,
- 16:07Speaker 2: six interceptions. That ain't that. Ain't that don't get it done.
- 16:10Speaker 2: It don't matter what league you're in. I understand Michigan
- 16:13Speaker 2: State was a bad football team last year and had
- 16:15Speaker 2: all kinds of issues, but at the end of the day.
- 16:18Speaker 2: That's just that's not good quarterback play. This team's losing
- 16:22Speaker 2: a really, really good quarterback and they are going to
- 16:27Speaker 2: step back.
- 16:27Speaker 3: Accordingly Georgia Southern States for Luke Bryan's Alva moder In
- 16:33Speaker 3: case you're wondering, this team was six and seven last year,
- 16:36Speaker 3: three and five in the belt year three of Clay Hilton.
- 16:40Speaker 1: I have been completely interested in this team. Helton did
- 16:45Speaker 1: a great job transitioning in his first year. I thought
- 16:49Speaker 1: way above what I was expectations were. Last year. They
- 16:52Speaker 1: slid back a little bit, and a lot of that
- 16:54Speaker 1: was due to turnovers. They had thirty one turnovers last year,
- 16:57Speaker 1: which I think is right up there with like Nebraska
- 16:59Speaker 1: or some of the is a team that struggled to
- 17:01Speaker 1: hang on to the rock, but they turn out a bit.
- 17:04Speaker 1: Most of this defense comes back up a type defense
- 17:07Speaker 1: that they've got from last year. Over under win total
- 17:10Speaker 1: for this team comes in at six and a half.
- 17:12Speaker 1: I know five and a half. Now five and a
- 17:14Speaker 1: half is the over underwin total. You can go over
- 17:16Speaker 1: five and a half and even money. Their odds to
- 17:18Speaker 1: win the conference are twenty two to one. I wouldn't
- 17:23Speaker 1: bet either one of those. I think that six wins
- 17:26Speaker 1: is about where they're going to be, but I think
- 17:28Speaker 1: I kind of have to expect more to Clay Helton
- 17:30Speaker 1: than year three. What are your thoughts on Georgia Southern.
- 17:33Speaker 2: I like Georgia Southern. I think they definitely go over
- 17:36Speaker 2: five and a half. They play, they play a tough schedule.
- 17:40Speaker 2: I mean, look, they got Boise at home to start,
- 17:42Speaker 2: and I think Boys is one of the best. I
- 17:44Speaker 2: think they're a legitimate playoff team with a guaranteed bid
- 17:47Speaker 2: from somebody from a group, So I think they're a
- 17:50Speaker 2: legitimate playoff contender. Not saying they're one of the twelve
- 17:55Speaker 2: best teams in the country, but they're definitely one of
- 17:57Speaker 2: the best group of five school So that's gonna be
- 18:01Speaker 2: a tough game. Then they're at Nevada, Now they should
- 18:03Speaker 2: win that ball game South Carolina State, they should. Then
- 18:06Speaker 2: they go to Old Miss, gonna get crushed over there
- 18:09Speaker 2: and then there, and then they're at Georgia State, which
- 18:12Speaker 2: should be a win, and then they settle into the
- 18:14Speaker 2: meat of their schedule. The bottom line is most of
- 18:18Speaker 2: their conference road games at Georgia State, at Old Dominion,
- 18:21Speaker 2: at South Alabama, and at Coastal Carolina one surprised me
- 18:24Speaker 2: if they want all four of those. So that's the
- 18:27Speaker 2: reason I think this team's gonna bounce ahead. They do
- 18:30Speaker 2: play Marshall James Madison, Troy and APT State at home,
- 18:33Speaker 2: but I think this is a team that punches forward.
- 18:35Speaker 2: I like Jalen Like. I'm gonna tell you what I
- 18:37Speaker 2: what I like about this kid. I think he's an
- 18:40Speaker 2: explosive player. I think he's a good back. He was
- 18:43Speaker 2: I think second or third team Sun Belt last year.
- 18:45Speaker 2: But that kid's a good player. Liked the football in
- 18:48Speaker 2: his hands. Obviously, they've gone to more of a throwing offense.
- 18:51Speaker 2: It'll be interesting to see what, you know, what what
- 18:55Speaker 2: French can do, because I think he's gonna end up
- 18:56Speaker 2: being the starter in this offense.
- 18:58Speaker 1: They got.
- 18:59Speaker 2: They got a lot of people back on defense, and
- 19:01Speaker 2: I think this is going to be a better team
- 19:04Speaker 2: defensively than it was last year. And here's the deal.
- 19:07Speaker 2: The turnover bug rarely bites two years in a row,
- 19:12Speaker 2: and I think they cut some of those out and
- 19:15Speaker 2: as a result, I think it's a better football I
- 19:18Speaker 2: think this is a better football team because this team
- 19:21Speaker 2: played some close games down the stretch, A couple of
- 19:25Speaker 2: ball games I mean they're thirty eight, thirty three and
- 19:28Speaker 2: a loss to Marshall twenty to seventeen at Old Dominion.
- 19:32Speaker 2: A lot of those were kind of turnover type deals.
- 19:35Speaker 2: I think this team does take a step forward. I
- 19:37Speaker 2: think they get the six wins at least. I think
- 19:41Speaker 2: they got a chance to get to seven. I like
- 19:43Speaker 2: Georgia Southern more than I think a lot of people
- 19:45Speaker 2: do in this league. But I think it's going to
- 19:47Speaker 2: be a pretty good team. And I think Elton's doing
- 19:50Speaker 2: a pretty good job down there taking over what was
- 19:52Speaker 2: kind of a mess when he took over. I mean
- 19:55Speaker 2: they won three games before he arrived and were a
- 19:57Speaker 2: running offense.
- 20:00Speaker 1: Yeah, I uh will see. I'm a wait to see there,
- 20:02Speaker 1: But I like to play Georgia Southern over five and
- 20:05Speaker 1: a half. My book's got done at even money, so
- 20:09Speaker 1: I just put a little check mark in there. Do
- 20:11Speaker 1: me a little digging I might get down here. I
- 20:13Speaker 1: mean there's nothing I'd love to have more than an
- 20:15Speaker 1: extra unit in my pocket when Georgia Southern makes it
- 20:17Speaker 1: to a bowl game. I mean, I put a smile
- 20:20Speaker 1: on your face right there, Broly, Georgia State. Interesting squad.
- 20:24Speaker 1: This probably to me is going to be the worst
- 20:26Speaker 1: team in the pack. I'm going under on this team.
- 20:29Speaker 1: It's shaded to minus one eighty if you want to
- 20:31Speaker 1: go under four and a half wins with Georgia State.
- 20:34Speaker 1: The chances of them, they're fifty to one to win
- 20:37Speaker 1: the conference in the Sunbelt. I don't think they've got
- 20:39Speaker 1: a shot here. Sean Lewis, this this was a fun
- 20:42Speaker 1: team to watch the last couple of years. A lot
- 20:44Speaker 1: of feast, you're famine. They would push the ball downfield,
- 20:47Speaker 1: kind of on the spread air rate effect that you've got.
- 20:49Speaker 1: Sehn Lewis, like we talked about a Sean elanxcuse me
- 20:52Speaker 1: decides to bail on this team in the spring, and
- 20:56Speaker 1: they lose a lot of players to the portal, and
- 20:58Speaker 1: not only that, it was a lot of production of
- 21:00Speaker 1: the portal. Peters is gone and so a lot of
- 21:03Speaker 1: the belcows of this offense are out. I mean they're
- 21:05Speaker 1: only returning three starters on offense, and when I look
- 21:08Speaker 1: at the squad, their schedule does not set up very well.
- 21:11Speaker 1: I mean they open at Georgia Tech, which I think
- 21:14Speaker 1: Georgia Tech is going to be improved, but I think
- 21:16Speaker 1: they're going to crush them they'll be that. Both these
- 21:17Speaker 1: teams are in Atlanta. It's to a big deal. Then
- 21:19Speaker 1: they play UT Chattanooga. I've got ut chat Nougat that's
- 21:23Speaker 1: an FCS playoff team and so that's not a capewalk
- 21:26Speaker 1: types team there. And then you get Vaney. Well, you
- 21:29Speaker 1: don't think much about Vandy, but when you're Vandy and
- 21:31Speaker 1: you've got Georgia State, you know you have to win
- 21:34Speaker 1: that game. And so this is gonna be rough sledding.
- 21:38Speaker 1: To me, Old Domino is a game they might could win.
- 21:41Speaker 1: I don't have a lot of faith in there. They
- 21:43Speaker 1: go to Yukon. I don't like that spot either, because
- 21:46Speaker 1: I think you contactually an improved team. So this Georgia
- 21:50Speaker 1: State team I might look at for an alternate win
- 21:52Speaker 1: total of two and a half because I'm not sure
- 21:55Speaker 1: they're gonna get there. I think this is gonna be
- 21:56Speaker 1: one of the worst teams in the country this season.
- 22:00Speaker 2: Well I couldn't agree more. Look, they start October twelfth,
- 22:04Speaker 2: begainst an eight game stretch to end the season. I'm
- 22:08Speaker 2: gonna tell you, I think starting they better beat Old
- 22:10Speaker 2: Domino at home, because if they don't, they're fixed to
- 22:14Speaker 2: get run and get run a lot. They're at Marshall,
- 22:18Speaker 2: at Appalachian State, at Connecticut, and at James Madison home
- 22:22Speaker 2: to Arkansas State, and at Texas Tech. That's five out
- 22:25Speaker 2: of six weeks they're on the road. They're going to
- 22:27Speaker 2: zer to five those ball games. They're gonna lose, probably
- 22:31Speaker 2: lose to Arkansas State because we'll get to them shortly.
- 22:33Speaker 2: But I think they're gonna be a better football team.
- 22:35Speaker 2: And then because it's at the end of the eight
- 22:37Speaker 2: game stretch, I think they're gonna lose Coast Carolina at home. Ank.
- 22:40Speaker 2: This team is not gonna be a good football team.
- 22:42Speaker 2: I agree with you. This is setting up for a
- 22:45Speaker 2: three and nine, two and ten, maybe one in eleven
- 22:48Speaker 2: kind of season. Holygus football team is going to be
- 22:50Speaker 2: any good. Think del McGee has walked into a complete disaster.
- 22:55Speaker 2: Never been a head coach before, having to take over
- 22:57Speaker 2: during the spring after a long term coach Bales to
- 23:01Speaker 2: go be an assistant at South Carolina. I feel bad
- 23:05Speaker 2: for the guy, and I hope I'm wrong, because you
- 23:07Speaker 2: don't ever want to see a first year coach walk
- 23:09Speaker 2: in and fail. You know, del McGee was a pretty
- 23:12Speaker 2: good player at Auburn. You know, was in school when
- 23:15Speaker 2: I was there, he was a pretty good football player,
- 23:18Speaker 2: and I just think I think he's walking into a tough,
- 23:22Speaker 2: tough deal.
- 23:24Speaker 1: James Madison. Excuse me, the Dukes got some dying here.
- 23:28Speaker 1: James Madison, the Dukes. This is my pick to win
- 23:30Speaker 1: the SEC East. They're plus seven to fifty to win
- 23:33Speaker 1: the league. I like where they're sitting here. Kirk Signetti
- 23:35Speaker 1: leaves a lot of roster turnover. Quarterback leaves. He's at
- 23:38Speaker 1: Texas State. Now we'll get to that on the other side.
- 23:40Speaker 1: But I like what they did. Their portal moves were
- 23:43Speaker 1: pretty solid, and I also think their schedule is very manageable.
- 23:47Speaker 1: Charlotte Gardner Webb at North Carolina. I think that should
- 23:50Speaker 1: be a pretty good game. They catch ball State Testicle
- 23:52Speaker 1: Tech's not going to be good. Ulah Monroe Coastal Georgia
- 23:55Speaker 1: Southern sent me their schedule is extremely manageable. It comes
- 23:59Speaker 1: down to November twenty third at Appy State to see
- 24:03Speaker 1: who's going to represent the East, and then this one.
- 24:07Speaker 1: I'm with James Madison. That's my play here. Over under
- 24:10Speaker 1: win total of James Madison is eight and a half.
- 24:13Speaker 1: It's kind of shaded if you want to take the over.
- 24:14Speaker 1: It's at plus thirty one thirty five money. I'm all
- 24:17Speaker 1: in j and I've got JMU over eight and a half.
- 24:20Speaker 1: I've got a JMU plus seven fifty to win the conference.
- 24:24Speaker 1: I like this roster. I like the culture that they've
- 24:26Speaker 1: built around it. I like the new higher that they
- 24:28Speaker 1: brought in the coach. I like Deevin Morris, the quarterback
- 24:31Speaker 1: that's in the spot. I've all then raked the Dukes. Baby,
- 24:34Speaker 1: let's go.
- 24:35Speaker 2: Look, I'm gonna tell you something, Bob Jesney, is you're following.
- 24:40Speaker 2: They're following an interesting playbook and going and making this higher.
- 24:43Speaker 2: I mean, this is a guy who's coached Division two
- 24:46Speaker 2: and Division three and been really successful, just coming off
- 24:49Speaker 2: forty four and twenty one at holy Cross, forty four
- 24:52Speaker 2: and sixteen at Assumption in Division three was twenty three
- 24:55Speaker 2: and nine. And does that Does that remind you of anybody?
- 24:59Speaker 1: Now?
- 24:59Speaker 2: I understand he had won national championships at Wisconsin Whitewater,
- 25:03Speaker 2: but sure, sure sounds like the process of hiring a
- 25:09Speaker 2: guy who's been successful at lower levels like Leopold. So
- 25:12Speaker 2: I'm interested to see how this hire works out, because
- 25:15Speaker 2: this program is in pretty good shape. Obviously, we talked
- 25:18Speaker 2: about their quarterback leaving, but they bring in a guy
- 25:20Speaker 2: who's been at the Power five. Hasn't been playing that
- 25:23Speaker 2: much at Washington, but Morris is obviously a talented enough
- 25:27Speaker 2: player to come have some success in this league. This
- 25:29Speaker 2: is a team that has won a bunch of football
- 25:32Speaker 2: games the last few years. This team was fourteen and
- 25:36Speaker 2: two while playing for the championship in nineteen and went
- 25:39Speaker 2: seven and one in twenty one, twelve and two in
- 25:43Speaker 2: twenty one. Because remember this team played in the spring
- 25:46Speaker 2: of twenty one, then turned around and played in the
- 25:48Speaker 2: fall again in twenty one because they were still Division
- 25:53Speaker 2: I guess Bowl Championship subdivision? What the hell we're gonna
- 25:56Speaker 2: call them now? By the way, since the first have
- 26:00Speaker 2: got are now a championship subdivision? What what are we
- 26:04Speaker 2: gonna call? We going back to one? Double A?
- 26:05Speaker 1: Can we go back to because I swear to guy,
- 26:08Speaker 1: that's the only thing I ever called it.
- 26:09Speaker 2: I don't yeah, me too. And then twenty two this
- 26:13Speaker 2: team was eight and three and then eleven and two.
- 26:16Speaker 4: Uh.
- 26:16Speaker 2: Boy, don't have many teams that jump up and win
- 26:18Speaker 2: nineteen games their first two years playing Division one football.
- 26:21Speaker 2: It's a program that has shown it was built to compete.
- 26:24Speaker 2: They did lose their head coach. They bring in a
- 26:26Speaker 2: guy who has done a really good job at lower levels.
- 26:28Speaker 2: I agree with you. I think they're still gonna be
- 26:30Speaker 2: one of, if not the best team in this league.
- 26:34Speaker 2: I expect James Madison to be good, not eleven and
- 26:36Speaker 2: two good U like they were last year, because let's
- 26:39Speaker 2: face it, this football team would have been in the
- 26:43Speaker 2: playoff if it's last year, if we have a twelve
- 26:46Speaker 2: team playoff last year, let's take out that bowl loss.
- 26:49Speaker 2: Coaches had left all of that. This was a good
- 26:51Speaker 2: football team last year. They played great defense. That's gonna
- 26:55Speaker 2: be the real question mark for me. They lost so
- 26:57Speaker 2: much on defense, and that defense so good. What are
- 27:01Speaker 2: they able to do on the defensive side of the
- 27:04Speaker 2: football because it won them a lot of games. That's
- 27:06Speaker 2: what I'm gonna be interested to see about this team.
- 27:10Speaker 1: Marshall Thundering Herd Charles Huff year three team went six
- 27:15Speaker 1: and seven last year, made it to a bowl game.
- 27:17Speaker 1: They're three and five coming into this season. I'm selling
- 27:22Speaker 1: the Herd bro over underwin totals at five and a
- 27:25Speaker 1: half this season. Their odds to win the conference are
- 27:28Speaker 1: sixteen to one. They've got no shot if you want
- 27:32Speaker 1: to put a if you want to put some pizza
- 27:34Speaker 1: money on a team that's got going to go with
- 27:36Speaker 1: Arkansas State on the other side, I think they I
- 27:39Speaker 1: think even after three bowls, three bowl seasons, I think
- 27:45Speaker 1: this is the last year for Charles up from the Herd.
- 27:46Speaker 1: I really think this team falls off this season and
- 27:49Speaker 1: then they're a proud, you know, proud program. Uh And
- 27:53Speaker 1: they've really struggled since Doc Holliday has been going, in
- 27:56Speaker 1: my opinion, to kind of find an identity here. I
- 28:00Speaker 1: Stony Brook. We I mean, their schedule is rough too,
- 28:04Speaker 1: at Botech, at Ohio State, then they bring in Western
- 28:08Speaker 1: missh who I think is gonna be one of the
- 28:09Speaker 1: better teams in the mat at State. Then you kind
- 28:13Speaker 1: of roll through the rest of it here. But I mean,
- 28:14Speaker 1: they could easily get to October twelfth and be like
- 28:19Speaker 1: one and four. I think Marshall's really going to struggle.
- 28:23Speaker 1: I am selling them over a win totals at five
- 28:26Speaker 1: and a half, which I don't think there's much value
- 28:28Speaker 1: in that. But if you want to go under five
- 28:30Speaker 1: and a half, you can get that at even money,
- 28:31Speaker 1: and that's probably how we played if I was gonna
- 28:34Speaker 1: play it. This is.
- 28:38Speaker 2: An interesting team to me because they've got ape Man.
- 28:41Speaker 2: You talked by guys that have brought in people from
- 28:43Speaker 2: all over Man this I mean everywhere. I mean Griffith
- 28:47Speaker 2: comes over from Wake Forest, where I think he started
- 28:50Speaker 2: nine games last year. This but he's a fifth year quarterback.
- 28:54Speaker 2: Jordans Houston's as old as I am. This is his
- 28:57Speaker 2: sixth year. I mean he's been five years at NCD,
- 29:00Speaker 2: ran thirteen hundred yards in his career. But I mean
- 29:03Speaker 2: he comes over. I mean, they got guys from North Carolina.
- 29:06Speaker 2: They got guys from Old Miss. I mean they got
- 29:09Speaker 2: guys from They got multiple guys from Old Miss, which
- 29:12Speaker 2: is which is really interesting to me. And I know
- 29:16Speaker 2: Huff spent some time in Mississippi and Atsissippi State, so
- 29:19Speaker 2: I know he knows a lot of these guys. But
- 29:22Speaker 2: it's gonna be interesting. They got transferred from Miami, Colorado, Virginia.
- 29:26Speaker 2: Lots of new faces. I like Cuff and Huff's known
- 29:30Speaker 2: was always known as a recruiter at Penn State, Missisippi State,
- 29:33Speaker 2: and Alabama. He's a running backs coach. He was known
- 29:36Speaker 2: as a recruiter and that seems like what's on. I
- 29:39Speaker 2: will be honest, the schedules so tough early. I agree
- 29:41Speaker 2: with you. They got to come out of that stretch.
- 29:44Speaker 2: They got to come out of that starting stretch at
- 29:46Speaker 2: least two and two when they go to go to
- 29:49Speaker 2: Appy State. They can't lose to Western Michigan. I certainly
- 29:53Speaker 2: can't lose to Stonybrook. They got to come out too
- 29:55Speaker 2: and too because I don't think they have any chance
- 29:56Speaker 2: to beat by Tech or Ohiowa State. They're gonna get
- 29:58Speaker 2: crushed in those games. So then you've got Appy State.
- 30:01Speaker 2: They've got to be five hundred getting there where I
- 30:03Speaker 2: agree with you, things could slide off the rails a
- 30:06Speaker 2: little bit. They lose to them, then lose that Georgia State,
- 30:08Speaker 2: then things get a little walky. I just think they
- 30:11Speaker 2: got fortunate and that they play some of the worst
- 30:13Speaker 2: teams in the league. They start too and two. You know,
- 30:16Speaker 2: Georgia State's bad, Ulm is bad, Southern miss is bad.
- 30:20Speaker 2: I don't think Coastal Carolina is gonna have been as
- 30:23Speaker 2: good as they are. And then they got Old Dominion
- 30:24Speaker 2: on the road. There's enough to squeak together another six
- 30:28Speaker 2: win team out of this bath based on that schedule.
- 30:33Speaker 2: Otherwise I agree with you, I'd be I'd be selling
- 30:36Speaker 2: on this team as well. But they got so many
- 30:37Speaker 2: new guys. This team could be really good too. I
- 30:41Speaker 2: mean it really could be. So it's gonna be fascinating
- 30:44Speaker 2: to get get a look at this team, but you're
- 30:46Speaker 2: not really gonna know until September twenty eighth. That's what
- 30:49Speaker 2: I think. That first game is gonna really when you're
- 30:52Speaker 2: gonna find out, Hey, what's Marshall got?
- 30:55Speaker 1: Oh Man?
- 30:57Speaker 4: So moving on, bro, last team we've got in the East,
- 31:00Speaker 4: Old Domino Ricky Ronnie holds a sweet spot in my
- 31:04Speaker 4: heart because the first ever money line parlay underdog parlay
- 31:10Speaker 4: that we put on the podcast was Ricky.
- 31:12Speaker 1: Ronnie and the Old Domino Monarchs to beat a really
- 31:17Speaker 1: roughed up Virginia Tech team, and that was the ugliest win.
- 31:21Speaker 1: They ended up hitting that parlay it cash like a
- 31:23Speaker 1: twelve to one ticket on Friday night to kick off
- 31:26Speaker 1: Week one of college football season. It was so awesome.
- 31:29Speaker 2: That's why it's always gonna be known as Ricky rain
- 31:32Speaker 2: to me, make it rain Baby.
- 31:35Speaker 1: I'm just telling you this team has fallen way off.
- 31:39Speaker 1: He's not been able to kind of duplicate the recruiting
- 31:42Speaker 1: that I think they hoped he would when he came
- 31:44Speaker 1: down from Penn State. A lot of turnover in this roster,
- 31:47Speaker 1: which is pretty normal from that standpoint. I think Old
- 31:50Speaker 1: Domino is going to be rough this season. Their odds
- 31:54Speaker 1: to win the conference thirty to one. Old Domino on
- 31:58Speaker 1: the over under win total from this squad. Let me
- 32:00Speaker 1: pull it up quick, Old Dominion. Yeah, four and a
- 32:04Speaker 1: half wins shaded to the under minus one fifty five
- 32:08Speaker 1: is what you got there. Schedule doesn't do him any
- 32:10Speaker 1: favors at South Carolina, which I think South Carolina's gonna
- 32:13Speaker 1: be much improved East Carolina, and then they play Virginia Tech.
- 32:18Speaker 1: And you can't tell me Virginia Tech is going to
- 32:20Speaker 1: be asleep at the wheel when they play Old Domino
- 32:23Speaker 1: again this year. Like I will probably come down with
- 32:26Speaker 1: a max bet on Virginia Tech that game because they're
- 32:28Speaker 1: gonna remember losing that game a couple of years ago
- 32:31Speaker 1: at Bowling Green, the toss up at Georgia Coastal and
- 32:35Speaker 1: at Georgia State. They've got a three game stretch in
- 32:38Speaker 1: there where they might actually be able to do something,
- 32:40Speaker 1: but after that they're back into. Their schedule's brutal, and
- 32:43Speaker 1: so I'm selling everything about old Domino. I think this
- 32:47Speaker 1: is the last chance when he run has got but
- 32:49Speaker 1: I think it's over at this point.
- 32:51Speaker 2: Yeah. Look, if you look at the odd years of him,
- 32:55Speaker 2: the most wins he's put up are three wins and
- 32:58Speaker 2: it's been a year five. That doesn't set up good.
- 33:01Speaker 2: They were one and eleven and nineteen, six and seven
- 33:03Speaker 2: and twenty one, three and nine and twenty two and
- 33:06Speaker 2: then six and seven last year. So I agree with you.
- 33:10Speaker 2: I don't think this team is going to be very
- 33:12Speaker 2: good again. Lots of guys coming in. I mean you look,
- 33:16Speaker 2: I mean you look, and it's from It's guys from
- 33:17Speaker 2: all over. And bring in a quarterback from Fordham you
- 33:21Speaker 2: know who I guess was there the last two years.
- 33:25Speaker 2: So it's gonna be interesting to see what they do.
- 33:27Speaker 2: They got guys from Rutgers, Missouri, Iowa, Illinois. I mean,
- 33:31Speaker 2: they're coming in from all over for this team too.
- 33:33Speaker 2: But I agree with you. I'm selling on this football team,
- 33:35Speaker 2: not not big on a little Domino. Things. Schedule sets
- 33:38Speaker 2: up bad. You talked about the back end at Texas
- 33:41Speaker 2: State at home, Georgia Southern at home at Appy Off
- 33:45Speaker 2: James Madison Marshall at home at Arkansas State one hundred percent.
- 33:49Speaker 2: Could they lose six in a row in the year,
- 33:51Speaker 2: You bet, and that's that's not good. I think best
- 33:55Speaker 2: case scenario out of that they are able to go
- 33:58Speaker 2: two and four in that stretch.
- 34:02Speaker 1: Ooh, Scotty slipping over to So you're saying in the East,
- 34:05Speaker 1: your play is Appy State to win the East.
- 34:07Speaker 2: I think Appy State, and I'm gonna tell you, I
- 34:11Speaker 2: think I think Georgia Southern has got a chance to
- 34:15Speaker 2: slide up there. But I agree with you. Hard to discount,
- 34:20Speaker 2: hard to discount that Jamison.
- 34:22Speaker 1: Program November twenty eighth, Baby, that's what's going to decide
- 34:26Speaker 1: the Easter the twenty eighth or twenty third, second last
- 34:29Speaker 1: week the season. I who ever wins that game, I
- 34:30Speaker 1: think will represent the East in the Sundeld Championship. Moving
- 34:34Speaker 1: on to the West, let's go alphabetically because you know what,
- 34:37Speaker 1: I get to say. One of my things favorite things
- 34:39Speaker 1: the Arkansas State Red Wolves, and my chance for them
- 34:45Speaker 1: this year is going to be buch better half my money.
- 34:48Speaker 1: I did not like this hire one bit when they
- 34:51Speaker 1: brought in Butcher Jones and letting that be known that
- 34:53Speaker 1: I was a Blake Anderson fan. That guy has burned
- 34:56Speaker 1: it down to the ground since he's left Arkansas State
- 35:00Speaker 1: and moved on to Utah State. I don't even think
- 35:02Speaker 1: he's coaching anymore.
- 35:04Speaker 2: You know how some people just lose their mind men
- 35:06Speaker 2: and women, when their spouse dies or they go through
- 35:08Speaker 2: a divorce or whatever. He clearly lost his mind. Man,
- 35:12Speaker 2: That's that's what I.
- 35:14Speaker 1: Loved that guy at Arkansas State. I mean you did too.
- 35:17Speaker 1: I mean we were yeah, big Blake. I remember, like
- 35:20Speaker 1: when all the players wore the pink for his wife.
- 35:22Speaker 1: I was all on board with that anyway. Butch Jones
- 35:27Speaker 1: comes in after stumbling around through Tennessee always looking like
- 35:31Speaker 1: his head's gonna explode. If you're really a college football junkie,
- 35:35Speaker 1: you remember him crying on the sideline at Arkansas State.
- 35:38Speaker 1: You're like, what the fuck is going on? Anyway, He's
- 35:41Speaker 1: done a hell of a job, I think for what
- 35:43Speaker 1: are your turk over here? He went six and seven
- 35:45Speaker 1: last year, losing their bowl game to Northern Illinois. They
- 35:49Speaker 1: returned quite a bit of talent on the offensive side,
- 35:51Speaker 1: and they were pretty electric last season. I mean they
- 35:53Speaker 1: had games where they put up fifty two forty four,
- 35:56Speaker 1: thirty four to thirty seven. And let's not overlook that
- 35:59Speaker 1: Texas State squeaker where they won seventy seven to thirty one.
- 36:05Speaker 1: So I like what Butch's done here. If you're going
- 36:07Speaker 1: to take a flyer to win the conference, I think
- 36:10Speaker 1: Arkansas State at sixteen to one it's not a bad bet.
- 36:14Speaker 1: I think their schedules manageable. They got Central Arkansas the Bears,
- 36:17Speaker 1: they should beat them. I think they'll be tulsive. Then
- 36:19Speaker 1: they got to go up to Michigan and Iowa State
- 36:21Speaker 1: back to back weeks. You might catch an Iowa State
- 36:24Speaker 1: team sleeping, but I'm not sure. And then when they
- 36:26Speaker 1: get into conference, I think it's manageable through there. So
- 36:29Speaker 1: I like Arkansas State. If I were going to take
- 36:31Speaker 1: a take it out of your couch pizza bet, I
- 36:34Speaker 1: would take Arkansas State at sixteen to one, over under
- 36:37Speaker 1: win total for this team of six and a half
- 36:39Speaker 1: plus one fifty. I would say, do your research. If
- 36:43Speaker 1: you're gonna bet it, I would either lay off of
- 36:46Speaker 1: that or try to find that seventh win, because you
- 36:48Speaker 1: can easily take Arkansas State at over over six and
- 36:51Speaker 1: a half at plus one fifty and I think there's
- 36:54Speaker 1: a good spot that you could hedge out there at
- 36:56Speaker 1: the end because they finish off the season at Georgia State,
- 36:58Speaker 1: who's going to be terrible at Ula, is gonna be
- 37:01Speaker 1: terrible at Old Dominant. So they've got three wins I
- 37:04Speaker 1: think in the can at the back end of that schedule.
- 37:06Speaker 1: I like Arkansas State over their total in this spot.
- 37:09Speaker 1: What are your thoughts here?
- 37:10Speaker 2: My first thought is Arkansas State is always going to
- 37:12Speaker 2: be the Indians to me, Uh, they're not the red Wolves,
- 37:16Speaker 2: but once again felt they fell victim to the uh,
- 37:21Speaker 2: to the to the woke group. But Jalen Rainer really
- 37:25Speaker 2: really exciting freshman last year, he was a Sunbelt Freshman
- 37:29Speaker 2: of the Year. Uh. Excited to see what he can do.
- 37:32Speaker 4: Uh.
- 37:32Speaker 2: That kid made some nice plays. Uh, gonna be interested
- 37:36Speaker 2: to see, you know how he comes across UH this year.
- 37:39Speaker 2: I think this team has a ton back as you
- 37:42Speaker 2: mentioned on offense, tons of players back there. So brought
- 37:45Speaker 2: in some guys from a depth standpoint that'll that'll that'll
- 37:48Speaker 2: transfer in. So I think that is a I think
- 37:53Speaker 2: this is this is Jones's year. I mean, obviously this
- 37:57Speaker 2: is a guy who made it all the way up
- 37:59Speaker 2: to the Tennessee head coach and if and if we're
- 38:02Speaker 2: gonna if we're gonna find it, if the guy's ever
- 38:05Speaker 2: gonna find his way back, he's got to figure out
- 38:08Speaker 2: how to win the Sunbelt. And I think this this
- 38:11Speaker 2: is the type of year because of Rainer is as
- 38:13Speaker 2: explosive and as exciting as he was last year. Probably
- 38:17Speaker 2: zero Chancey's back at Arkansas State next year, although there
- 38:20Speaker 2: are a couple of boosters that are actually pretty big,
- 38:24Speaker 2: pretty big donors to that program, So somebody might be
- 38:26Speaker 2: willing to pay, you know, some pretty big money to stay.
- 38:29Speaker 2: But exciting quarterbacks make big money. Uh, And so I
- 38:32Speaker 2: find it really hard to believe that kid finishes his
- 38:35Speaker 2: career at Arkansas State if he continues to progress. So
- 38:38Speaker 2: Jones needs to make it happen, and make it happen fast.
- 38:41Speaker 2: The non conference means nothing really in these leagues. I
- 38:45Speaker 2: mean that to fund their program. Coults is a game
- 38:48Speaker 2: that's interesting to me, though you get Central Arkansas and Tulsa, Arkansas.
- 38:53Speaker 2: Arkansas State actually trails Central Arkansas all time in their
- 38:57Speaker 2: series against against them, But I don't think they have
- 39:01Speaker 2: any problem putting those guys away. Central Arkansas has not
- 39:04Speaker 2: been quite as good, right. I don't think they've made
- 39:07Speaker 2: the playoffs in several years. I mean, going back probably
- 39:11Speaker 2: eighteen nineteen somewhere in there. Tulsa is a game that
- 39:15Speaker 2: could they figure out how to win that ball game?
- 39:17Speaker 2: And boy, that's when you start having a good season.
- 39:19Speaker 2: Michigan Iowa State on the road probably just get crushed
- 39:23Speaker 2: both those games, but then you get into the conference
- 39:26Speaker 2: and really get a chance to get rolling. They only
- 39:30Speaker 2: play Texas State and Louisiana is what I think are
- 39:34Speaker 2: the best programs in this league. So I agree with
- 39:36Speaker 2: you Mark this. A team's got a chance to hang
- 39:38Speaker 2: up some wins, could they Let's even say they go
- 39:41Speaker 2: one in three, you're still talking seven and five, and
- 39:45Speaker 2: that's losing at Texas State and losing at Louisiana. If
- 39:48Speaker 2: they figure out how to win at Southern Miss at
- 39:50Speaker 2: Georgia State, can this team win seven eight ball games? YEP,
- 39:53Speaker 2: I think they can, and that'll put them right there
- 39:56Speaker 2: at the top of the Sunbelt. So that is not
- 39:59Speaker 2: a bad call at all. I just think Texas State's
- 40:02Speaker 2: I think Texas State is going to have a little
- 40:04Speaker 2: too much firepower form, but we'll get into that this
- 40:07Speaker 2: is not a bad call at sixteen to one.
- 40:09Speaker 1: Sixteen to one, baby, give me fifty bucks down. Let's
- 40:11Speaker 1: talk about a team used to be a wagon for
- 40:13Speaker 1: his Thunbelt Billy Louisiana Ragan Cajuns. This team, you know
- 40:18Speaker 1: when after sun Belt left head over to Florida, they
- 40:21Speaker 1: promoted from within and I found out I had been
- 40:24Speaker 1: screwing up this gas's pronouncement. Michael Desmo, I think that's correct.
- 40:29Speaker 1: Is how you pronounce his name. He's definitely from the
- 40:31Speaker 1: Bay You Ragel Cagen team kind of went through a
- 40:34Speaker 1: different identity crisis after he took over. This was always
- 40:36Speaker 1: a team offensively that was unique in the way that
- 40:40Speaker 1: they were to take care of the advantage of their talent.
- 40:43Speaker 1: But Desma took over, he was a defensive coordinator, definite
- 40:46Speaker 1: shift over to the defensive side of the ball. In
- 40:48Speaker 1: year one. Didn't perform quite as well last year, kind
- 40:52Speaker 1: of middling team. Team finished six and seven with a
- 40:56Speaker 1: Bowl loss to Jacksonville State, which I thought was kind
- 40:59Speaker 1: of interesting, thirty one to thirty four shootout in that one.
- 41:02Speaker 1: I look at this team as they've got a shot
- 41:04Speaker 1: to me to win the West. They've got a ton
- 41:05Speaker 1: of talent returning on the defensive side of the ball,
- 41:08Speaker 1: including Casey O Sigh. If you remember, his older brother
- 41:10Speaker 1: played at the University of Texas Joseph. I think he's
- 41:13Speaker 1: in the league now as a defensive endor tackle. But
- 41:15Speaker 1: so I like their roster, I honestly do. The team
- 41:19Speaker 1: is six. You get him at six to one to
- 41:21Speaker 1: win the West. They're over under a win total. Is
- 41:23Speaker 1: it seven and a half? Juice to the over A
- 41:25Speaker 1: little bit in there scheduled to me is manageable. They've
- 41:28Speaker 1: got Grambling which is gonna be awful, Kennesas State, which
- 41:32Speaker 1: is probably gonna be the worst team in D one
- 41:34Speaker 1: two lane, at Wake, at Southern Miss And here's the
- 41:38Speaker 1: reason I say this. I think they'll be five and
- 41:40Speaker 1: zero when they come rolling in to play app State
- 41:43Speaker 1: Coastal Texas State. So I definitely think this team. And
- 41:46Speaker 1: they finished with Troy and too ul Monroe in South Alabama,
- 41:50Speaker 1: which are three teams I've gotten graded way down. I
- 41:53Speaker 1: like the over at Ulili. You just got to pay
- 41:55Speaker 1: the juice at seven and a half. And I don't
- 41:57Speaker 1: think their schedule is too bad. If you want to
- 41:59Speaker 1: again take a shot out of them to win it
- 42:00Speaker 1: at sixty one. I like the over seven half wins
- 42:03Speaker 1: more than I like them to win the continence.
- 42:05Speaker 2: I will tell you this. I wow, I'm not gonna
- 42:09Speaker 2: say at a win at Wake, but I certainly think
- 42:12Speaker 2: that is a potential cover game for us. But you're
- 42:16Speaker 2: you're you were, I like it. You are fired up
- 42:18Speaker 2: on them going going over to Winston Salem. Baby, I
- 42:23Speaker 2: got schu. Yeah, yeah, I know, I know you got
- 42:27Speaker 2: no love for for Wake. I still think it's a
- 42:30Speaker 2: very very good coaching staff, but a lot of changes
- 42:32Speaker 2: going on over there. I agree with you on this.
- 42:34Speaker 2: On this Cajun squad, I think they are one of
- 42:36Speaker 2: the best teams in the Sun Belt. Uh Again, I
- 42:40Speaker 2: feel both of these conferences are very very top This
- 42:43Speaker 2: conference is very top heavy. I say both the conferences,
- 42:45Speaker 2: both divisions are very very top heavy. Top three teams
- 42:49Speaker 2: are really I think, significantly better than everybody else. I
- 42:52Speaker 2: think Raging Cajuns fall into that. Uh So I'm with you.
- 42:56Speaker 2: I'm interested to see what they do. Got a lot
- 42:57Speaker 2: of people back on offense and defense from the t
- 43:00Speaker 2: that got Bowl eligible last year. So very easy to
- 43:02Speaker 2: see those guys clipping together another win or two and
- 43:05Speaker 2: getting getting to eight wins. I mean, you've got to remember,
- 43:09Speaker 2: this team's won ten games a lot, yeah, in the
- 43:13Speaker 2: last in the last decade, and and and and that's
- 43:17Speaker 2: going back to Hutchebitt when he was there. Napier obviously
- 43:19Speaker 2: did a good job. So I think I think that
- 43:23Speaker 2: when hutchbot because I think he won ten games three
- 43:25Speaker 2: years in a row. I think it's the first time
- 43:26Speaker 2: it had ever happened. And then he took a little
- 43:29Speaker 2: step back. Then Napier takes over in Boom. He does
- 43:32Speaker 2: it three years in a row, rolling right into the
- 43:35Speaker 2: Florida job. So this is a job that you can
- 43:38Speaker 2: definitely get it done. Uh, and this is the type
- 43:42Speaker 2: of roster where you do it. Only lost seventeen guys
- 43:45Speaker 2: from last year, that's that's that's pretty impressive from a
- 43:48Speaker 2: team that's going to a bowl game, got a lot
- 43:50Speaker 2: of people back, brought in some guys as well. I
- 43:53Speaker 2: think it's got a chance to be a really good
- 43:54Speaker 2: football team. And I agree with you. The nine conference
- 43:58Speaker 2: makes them, gives them an opportunity to to really hit
- 44:03Speaker 2: that next level from a wins standpoint.
- 44:07Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, even if they lose it, wake, I
- 44:09Speaker 1: gotta think they're four and one before they play Appy State,
- 44:12Speaker 1: and that game's at home. And I know I said
- 44:15Speaker 1: there's not much of a home field advantage that you get,
- 44:19Speaker 1: but UL still rolls out a pretty good fan base
- 44:22Speaker 1: down there. And so the other thing, I need to
- 44:24Speaker 1: start looking at a short week schedules, but I haven't
- 44:26Speaker 1: done too much of that. But yeah, I like this team.
- 44:29Speaker 1: Next one, South Alabama, Yaku Wires. I'm selling bro over
- 44:34Speaker 1: underwent total for this team. Let's see. Hey, I say
- 44:39Speaker 1: I was on the wrong screen. Yeah, over under win
- 44:42Speaker 1: total here is six and a half. This team went
- 44:45Speaker 1: seven and six last year, but this is a big
- 44:48Speaker 1: step back and coaching. They bring in major apple White.
- 44:51Speaker 1: There's a hard reboot on this roster. I kind of
- 44:54Speaker 1: like Geo Lopez, the freshman quarterback, if he's actually going
- 44:57Speaker 1: to get some blame time in here. But I'm selling
- 44:59Speaker 1: on the Apple White trade. I don't have a ton
- 45:01Speaker 1: on in South Alabama. I'll throw this one out to you.
- 45:04Speaker 1: A lot of people like him. They're eight and a
- 45:06Speaker 1: half to one to win the conference. I'm just not
- 45:08Speaker 1: seen it. And so maybe clue me in on how
- 45:11Speaker 1: this team can get somewhere.
- 45:13Speaker 2: Man, I don't see it either. Last year, I thought
- 45:16Speaker 2: this football team was Look, I think there's a reason
- 45:20Speaker 2: came wo mag left and it ain't just to go
- 45:22Speaker 2: be the defensive coordinator at Alabama. I mean, that is
- 45:27Speaker 2: the bottom line. This team won, went to a bowl
- 45:31Speaker 2: game last year, they got a win. People forget they
- 45:36Speaker 2: went to Oklahoma State and drubbed Oklahoma State, I mean drubbed.
- 45:43Speaker 2: And that game is so overlooked and it made Gundy
- 45:47Speaker 2: totally reboot the playbook. What are we doing wrong? Just
- 45:50Speaker 2: I mean he went back from scratch and they turned
- 45:53Speaker 2: their season around and and we all thought, oh, holy smokes,
- 45:59Speaker 2: South Alabama because I liked him going into the season,
- 46:02Speaker 2: thought they had a chance to win this league. And
- 46:03Speaker 2: then boom, they went to a stretch where they kind
- 46:06Speaker 2: of really struggled. Every time they played good football teams.
- 46:09Speaker 2: They lost last year. Uh, the only one that I
- 46:11Speaker 2: would say that was the opposite was was that Oklahoma
- 46:15Speaker 2: State game and then an Arkansas State team that they
- 46:18Speaker 2: that they beat at home. The rest of the time
- 46:20Speaker 2: they got beat when they played somebody, and they lost
- 46:23Speaker 2: some some closed games. But man, they oh buddy, they lost.
- 46:28Speaker 2: I mean they lost to everybody that was any good
- 46:31Speaker 2: for the most part after after that Oklahoma State game.
- 46:34Speaker 2: So I am selling on this. I just did. Man,
- 46:37Speaker 2: I'm kind of like you said earlier, kind of out
- 46:39Speaker 2: on major Apple White. I just have questions about him.
- 46:42Speaker 2: They've got go Lopez, who's likely going to be their quarterback.
- 46:47Speaker 2: Played a little bit last year. I think he played
- 46:51Speaker 2: in five games, but somehow or another, they're saying he's
- 46:55Speaker 2: going to be able to red shirt and it's still
- 46:57Speaker 2: classified as a freshman. Don't really understand that, but hey,
- 47:01Speaker 2: whatever works. But I just don't think this team is
- 47:06Speaker 2: gonna be any good. Uh. They brought in some guys,
- 47:09Speaker 2: but candidly, they ain't bring any guys who can play.
- 47:11Speaker 2: I mean, Read Buys is an offensive lineman they brought
- 47:14Speaker 2: in from State. He's not any good. I mean, if
- 47:16Speaker 2: you think State was letting linemen go that were any good,
- 47:20Speaker 2: you're nuts. I mean that that that's a place where
- 47:23Speaker 2: you don't do it. I was telling somebody probably the uh,
- 47:27Speaker 2: my favorite thing about this team is one of the
- 47:29Speaker 2: potential All Named Team guys is is their nose tackle
- 47:33Speaker 2: Waikivius Thomas. I mean, you got like anybody named Waikiva's,
- 47:36Speaker 2: don't you? But uh, this is not I think this
- 47:41Speaker 2: team is gonna get I think I think they're gonna struggle.
- 47:46Speaker 2: That Ohio game on the road is a gigantic game
- 47:50Speaker 2: for this team if they're gonna get Bowl eligible, because
- 47:53Speaker 2: that's a rebuild and we'll get into the mic. But Ohio,
- 47:56Speaker 2: they got to figure out how to win. I don't
- 47:58Speaker 2: think they're gonna beat nor Texas US at home candidly,
- 48:02Speaker 2: but those are two good they got to start too.
- 48:04Speaker 2: And oh and then because after that at Appy, at LSU,
- 48:08Speaker 2: at Arkansas State, likely going to lose all three of those,
- 48:11Speaker 2: and then you got at Louisiana and Texas State two
- 48:15Speaker 2: of the last three games. They should beat Southern miss UH.
- 48:18Speaker 2: And one thing about that Southern miss Uh South Alabama game, Man,
- 48:22Speaker 2: those schools are right on top of each other. That's
- 48:26Speaker 2: actually that's exactly right as a natural kind of rivalry game.
- 48:31Speaker 2: Those kids are going to have been playing against each
- 48:33Speaker 2: other their whole careers. A little more to that game,
- 48:35Speaker 2: even though I don't think Southern which we'll get to,
- 48:37Speaker 2: is gonna be very good. But there's a little bit
- 48:40Speaker 2: to that ball game and sandwich between Louisiana and Texas
- 48:43Speaker 2: State on the road that could be harder for South
- 48:46Speaker 2: Alabama than I think people think. So I'm like you,
- 48:49Speaker 2: kind of settling on this team. I think they got
- 48:50Speaker 2: a shot to get ball eligible. Uh, but I think
- 48:53Speaker 2: the I think to the middle of the pack. I
- 48:55Speaker 2: don't think they are close to that next run of
- 48:58Speaker 2: teams in this league.
- 49:00Speaker 1: Southern Miss Will Hall three and nine last year, two
- 49:04Speaker 1: and six in the Belt. I remember when they hired
- 49:07Speaker 1: Will Hall. You and I were kind of excited about.
- 49:09Speaker 1: This team has not performed well. They lose their all everything.
- 49:14Speaker 1: Frank Gore finally has done with eligibility. What a career
- 49:19Speaker 1: that guy had at Southern Miss, and the fact that
- 49:21Speaker 1: he stayed there is even more impressive to me. The
- 49:25Speaker 1: whole season to me for Southern Miss provides around one
- 49:28Speaker 1: thing is if Tate Rodemaker can get it done at quarterback,
- 49:32Speaker 1: kid transferred in this last year. I think he's got
- 49:35Speaker 1: the juice over under wind toll on Southern Miss comes
- 49:39Speaker 1: in at four and a half. If you want to
- 49:42Speaker 1: put four and a half to the over, you're getting
- 49:44Speaker 1: it at plus one fifty to plus one seventeen to
- 49:46Speaker 1: a lot of places. This team's got a flyer to
- 49:49Speaker 1: get there. I think this is will Hall's last season.
- 49:52Speaker 1: I don't think their schedule is very good for what
- 49:54Speaker 1: they want to do. I mean, other than Southeastern Louisiana
- 49:59Speaker 1: at ul in may In, maybe the South Alabama Troy game.
- 50:05Speaker 1: I don't see anywhere this team is favored. I would
- 50:08Speaker 1: fade Southern mess. I would go under four and a
- 50:10Speaker 1: half wins. But you're gonna have to leave massive juice
- 50:12Speaker 1: to get there. What are your thoughts?
- 50:14Speaker 2: I couldn't agree more. I think Look, I think this
- 50:16Speaker 2: team's reeling a little bit too. MJ. Daniels probably the
- 50:18Speaker 2: best football player on the team. Their their free safety
- 50:22Speaker 2: was a transfer in from Old Miss, and candidly when
- 50:25Speaker 2: he left Old Miss would have ended up a Mississippi
- 50:27Speaker 2: State had it had Mike Leech not still been the
- 50:30Speaker 2: head coach. MJ. Daniels was a pretty talented player. Was
- 50:35Speaker 2: killed in a shooting, yeah, just off campus this summer.
- 50:38Speaker 2: So that team's kind of reeling a little bit, and
- 50:41Speaker 2: you know, can that right Sometimes that can rally a team.
- 50:45Speaker 2: But Daniels was a good player, made some good plays
- 50:48Speaker 2: for him. I'm like, you kind of selling on this
- 50:50Speaker 2: football team. Don't don't expect a whole lot out of them.
- 50:54Speaker 2: Hope I'm wrong. Like I said, I did like Will
- 50:57Speaker 2: Hall when he took the job. He came over as
- 50:59Speaker 2: offense coordinator from Tulane. His father was a long term,
- 51:04Speaker 2: I mean really long term Mississippi high school head coach.
- 51:08Speaker 2: I think if he's not the winnings, he's one of
- 51:11Speaker 2: the winning as coaches all time in the state of Mississippi,
- 51:14Speaker 2: really successful guy. Will was a good high school football
- 51:18Speaker 2: player there as well. So I'm just surprised this has
- 51:22Speaker 2: not gone better. I think it really is a testament
- 51:24Speaker 2: to how difficult this job is, and the Southern Miss
- 51:28Speaker 2: job is getting more difficult every day. They went through
- 51:31Speaker 2: a stretch where I think they played had winning records
- 51:34Speaker 2: twenty some odd years with Jeff Bauer and Curly Hallman
- 51:37Speaker 2: and all those guys. This is not that same program.
- 51:41Speaker 2: Mississippi State and Old Miss, with the change in the
- 51:44Speaker 2: Southeastern Conference and money and how much money is available,
- 51:47Speaker 2: have really left this program behind and it is not
- 51:51Speaker 2: the program that it was in the eighties and nineties.
- 51:55Speaker 2: And this is a really, really difficult job. And I
- 51:57Speaker 2: think that's exactly what Will Hal's running too.
- 52:01Speaker 1: Yeah, be rough Texas State. Interesting squad here, man, This
- 52:05Speaker 1: team is gonna be high flying. GJ. Kenny, I think
- 52:08Speaker 1: is probably gonna be on the radar to a lot
- 52:09Speaker 1: of programs that are gonna be looking for a new
- 52:11Speaker 1: coach next year. Pay attention to Waco Baylor. You know
- 52:15Speaker 1: he actually JJ Kenny was on the Baylor roster for
- 52:18Speaker 1: a year when he was a student. Played quarterback for US.
- 52:21Speaker 1: Never played much on the field anyway. This team comes in.
- 52:24Speaker 1: This team was eight and five last year, four and
- 52:26Speaker 1: four straight in the Sunbelt. Very explosive offense, high flying,
- 52:30Speaker 1: putting points up. They had TJ. Finley playing quarterback for
- 52:33Speaker 1: him last year and they could let it roll. Defensively,
- 52:36Speaker 1: this team is an abject disaster. They gave up points
- 52:40Speaker 1: in buckets. But if you go back and look at
- 52:42Speaker 1: their points, it's like seventy seven against Jackson State, thirty five,
- 52:46Speaker 1: fifty thirty. I mean, there's forty five. I mean, but
- 52:49Speaker 1: then you know they're giving up forty five. So if
- 52:51Speaker 1: you're looking for this team weekend week out Texas State,
- 52:54Speaker 1: I would tell you I'd lean the over. GJ. Kenny's
- 52:57Speaker 1: calling his own offense. He's got a transferred quarterback, Geordie McLeod.
- 53:00Speaker 1: Come in. It's Sun Belt Player of the Year. That
- 53:04Speaker 1: was a quarterback last year at JMU. I was really
- 53:07Speaker 1: surprised he didn't go to Indiana when Signetti got the
- 53:10Speaker 1: job and moved over there. But he comes down here.
- 53:13Speaker 1: A lot of a lot of the players they lost
- 53:15Speaker 1: on offense, they swap out for transfers that come in.
- 53:18Speaker 1: Same thing on the defensive side. But I don't have
- 53:21Speaker 1: a lot of faith in the defense. I like Texas
- 53:23Speaker 1: State at plus four hundred some places you can give
- 53:26Speaker 1: a plus six to win the conference. I like them there.
- 53:28Speaker 1: They're over under win totals eight and a half and
- 53:31Speaker 1: gets shaded to the under eight and three. But you lamar,
- 53:35Speaker 1: then they've got UTSA. Those two programs can't be but
- 53:38Speaker 1: maybe thirty miles apart. And I think UTSA will take
- 53:41Speaker 1: a step back this year. Frank White Brownley graduating. And
- 53:44Speaker 1: then here's the game that's so interesting to me. Nat
- 53:47Speaker 1: On the State comes to San Marcus to play. I
- 53:51Speaker 1: don't think State's going to be the Yeah, short weeks too.
- 53:55Speaker 2: On Thursday night, short week after playing Mississippi State at
- 53:58Speaker 2: a late home game on Saturday night, you durned right
- 54:02Speaker 2: circle this on your calendars.
- 54:04Speaker 1: I'm laughing at you. And I have not spoken one
- 54:06Speaker 1: ounce about it, and that was the game that jumped
- 54:08Speaker 1: out on the schedule for both of us. I like
- 54:12Speaker 1: this team here, I like their over I like their
- 54:14Speaker 1: shot to win it. I think you know, if you
- 54:16Speaker 1: told me, hey, I got Texas State four to one,
- 54:19Speaker 1: five to one to win the Sun Belt, I'm not
- 54:21Speaker 1: against it. I think this team's gonna be electric. I'm
- 54:23Speaker 1: gonna be looking to play totals on this team week
- 54:25Speaker 1: in and week out, and you bet your ass, I'm
- 54:27Speaker 1: gonna be betting. I'm hoping we're gonna get a plus
- 54:30Speaker 1: ten when they play Arizona State, but I don't think
- 54:32Speaker 1: we will. I'll be surprised if we can't even get
- 54:34Speaker 1: a touchdown in that game. But I like Texas State
- 54:36Speaker 1: a lot. I think this is g J. Kenning probably
- 54:37Speaker 1: last year because you're at Texas State, and I think
- 54:40Speaker 1: he gets an opportunity in a bigger program next year.
- 54:43Speaker 2: Mark, we got plus twenty seven at Baylor last year
- 54:45Speaker 2: with these guys and they won, and they won straight up. Yeah,
- 54:50Speaker 2: we're gonna get probably double digits. You let you let
- 54:53Speaker 2: Arizona State beat Mississippi State, and we're gonna get double digits.
- 54:57Speaker 2: In this game, we'll get double digits, and I'll take
- 55:01Speaker 2: it all day long.
- 55:02Speaker 1: Hell, I'm probably when the line hits Monday, I'll be.
- 55:09Speaker 2: Because I think this team's good. I think this team
- 55:11Speaker 2: is gonna be too explosive for a team, even though
- 55:13Speaker 2: this is a bad defense. Although I think they will
- 55:16Speaker 2: be a little better uh this year. I think some
- 55:18Speaker 2: of the guys they've brought in I think are significant
- 55:22Speaker 2: upgrades over what they had. I think they'll be better,
- 55:24Speaker 2: but there's let's face it, there's still not gonna be
- 55:26Speaker 2: a defense. In candidly, I don't think any cares. I
- 55:28Speaker 2: think it's a little bit of Mike leechish. Let's just
- 55:31Speaker 2: go score fifty and if we win fifty forty eight,
- 55:34Speaker 2: so be it. You know, let's just get the I
- 55:36Speaker 2: just need an extra possession or two, give me a turnover,
- 55:39Speaker 2: give me something that'll that that'll be the difference in
- 55:44Speaker 2: in this team. I like Texas State a lot. I
- 55:46Speaker 2: think that's gonna be good. What I really like is GJ. Kenny.
- 55:49Speaker 2: I was one of about five people in America that
- 55:52Speaker 2: thought he was a needed to be a legitimate candidate
- 55:55Speaker 2: for the Mississippi State job. I'll stand by that like
- 55:58Speaker 2: who stayed hired. Think he's a great higher certainly, don't
- 56:01Speaker 2: have a problem with it, not second guessing that higher
- 56:03Speaker 2: at all, but just saying JG. Kenny GJ. Kenny is
- 56:08Speaker 2: an up and coming guy and he's gonna get a
- 56:10Speaker 2: shot at a big school, and I think his brand
- 56:13Speaker 2: of offense will translate in the power to really well.
- 56:17Speaker 2: He'll sign all kinds of players. And let's not forget
- 56:21Speaker 2: this guy had a lot of incarnate word success. I
- 56:24Speaker 2: mean twelve and two over there, and everybody forgets that
- 56:28Speaker 2: he really is the brains behind the success over there.
- 56:32Speaker 2: And I like Kenny. I think he's a good football coach.
- 56:37Speaker 2: Like what he's got going at UTSA game, this team
- 56:41Speaker 2: could start three and oh hey they got a shot
- 56:44Speaker 2: to start three and oh at Utsa game was a
- 56:46Speaker 2: great game last year. Think it's gonna be a great
- 56:48Speaker 2: game again. And to do I think they've got a
- 56:50Speaker 2: chance to be There's on state absolutely for everything we've
- 56:53Speaker 2: already talked about, and then you roll right into the
- 56:56Speaker 2: rest of the schedule. So we talk about it that
- 56:59Speaker 2: is this is this is going to be a fun
- 57:03Speaker 2: team to watch, and I think a fun team to
- 57:06Speaker 2: gamble on all year. I mean, I'm excited to watch
- 57:10Speaker 2: this team and watch what they do. What is going
- 57:14Speaker 2: to be interesting is how do they perform against really
- 57:18Speaker 2: good defensive football teams. Because I will tell you I
- 57:22Speaker 2: think McLeod is such an upgrade over where they were
- 57:24Speaker 2: last year at quarterback that I think this offense either
- 57:29Speaker 2: and so I and so I think he was extremely limited.
- 57:33Speaker 2: I mean, look that Louisiana game. He was atrocious. There's
- 57:36Speaker 2: no reason for him to lose that football game. Didn't
- 57:38Speaker 2: play well, should have won that game, should have won
- 57:40Speaker 2: that game on the road, and and and didn't. And
- 57:44Speaker 2: that's mainly because the turnovers he had late turnovers, just
- 57:46Speaker 2: an awful turnover. But anyway, the I think this is
- 57:51Speaker 2: gonna be an exciting team to watch. Can't wait to
- 57:54Speaker 2: watch what McLeod does in this offense. So this is
- 57:57Speaker 2: gonna be I think, a really really fun year. This
- 58:01Speaker 2: is a guy that completed sixty eight percent of his
- 58:03Speaker 2: passes last year, thirty five touchdowns and ten interceptions. What's
- 58:10Speaker 2: he gonna do in this offense?
- 58:12Speaker 1: Dude, I mean he's flying.
- 58:14Speaker 2: I'm telling you it is gonna be fun to watch.
- 58:17Speaker 2: Really excited about this team. Think they're going to be
- 58:20Speaker 2: fun to watch and look, people don't realize how big
- 58:23Speaker 2: of a school when you're outside the state of Texas.
- 58:25Speaker 2: Texas State is. I mean the enrollment here, it's a
- 58:29Speaker 2: thirty five thousand. There's thirty five thousand people on that
- 58:32Speaker 2: campus in San Marcos, one top ten party schools in
- 58:35Speaker 2: the country. They are craving an experience like I think
- 58:39Speaker 2: they're gonna get this year. So I think it's gonna
- 58:41Speaker 2: be a lot of this. I think there's a lot
- 58:43Speaker 2: of things to get excited about. This football team.
- 58:46Speaker 1: Couldn't agree more. I'm laughing. We haven't spoken one word
- 58:48Speaker 1: about this before we did the rundown, and that you
- 58:50Speaker 1: and I both kind of popped at the same time.
- 58:53Speaker 1: Oh excited about this, man. I mean nothing better than
- 58:56Speaker 1: when you've got a bunch of people coming over your
- 58:58Speaker 1: house to dial up a game and you're gonna throw
- 59:00Speaker 1: on it's a little Texas State, Arkansas State for a
- 59:04Speaker 1: Thursday night burner, Arizona State for a burner. I'm excited.
- 59:08Speaker 1: Next team, we got Troy Trojans eleven and three, seven
- 59:11Speaker 1: and one of the belt. This team, to me, I've
- 59:14Speaker 1: got a ton of question marks about this team has
- 59:17Speaker 1: rested on its defense for years. It's been a model
- 59:20Speaker 1: of consistency through here. You've had some great coaches that
- 59:23Speaker 1: have been through this program. In my personal opinion, they
- 59:26Speaker 1: had a you know, little slip up a couple of
- 59:29Speaker 1: years ago, but all in this Troy has done a
- 59:31Speaker 1: tremendous job when you think about where they're in the
- 59:33Speaker 1: state of Alabama. But this team this season, I have
- 59:37Speaker 1: nothing but question marks. I have no play here on
- 59:39Speaker 1: this team. Over underwent totals at six and a half
- 59:41Speaker 1: shaded to the under. Their odds to win the conference
- 59:45Speaker 1: in this one are fifteen to one. I wouldn't put
- 59:47Speaker 1: any stock in this one. What are your thoughts on
- 59:50Speaker 1: the Trojans Man, I think this team takes a massive
- 59:52Speaker 1: step back.
- 59:53Speaker 2: I think they have to take a massive step back,
- 59:55Speaker 2: you know, just because so many new guys coming in,
- 59:58Speaker 2: some guys left, you know. I mean, look, man, this
- 1:00:02Speaker 2: team lost more Letterman than they have returning first year
- 1:00:06Speaker 2: head coach uh coming over from I guess he's actually
- 1:00:10Speaker 2: coming from what Notre Dame. But Parker was was the
- 1:00:13Speaker 2: offense coordinator at West Virginia, which is interesting because obviously,
- 1:00:19Speaker 2: you know the West Virginia head coach former Troy head coach.
- 1:00:21Speaker 2: What kind of contacts was that.
- 1:00:24Speaker 1: I think I thought he got fired at West Notre
- 1:00:26Speaker 1: Dame because he and I and book couldn't get along.
- 1:00:28Speaker 1: And I kind of read the tea leads on that's
- 1:00:30Speaker 1: what got him run off of that program.
- 1:00:32Speaker 2: And that may be and that may be the case.
- 1:00:35Speaker 2: The So it's interesting to see to see where, you know,
- 1:00:39Speaker 2: where he's gonna go, you know where where this team's
- 1:00:42Speaker 2: gonna go. He brings in Goose Crowder, who he coached
- 1:00:45Speaker 2: at West Virginia, so did to see what this team's like.
- 1:00:49Speaker 2: But I cannot imagine that this team doesn't go way back.
- 1:00:53Speaker 2: I mean that way back. Probably the best player they
- 1:00:56Speaker 2: got coming back is Damian Taylor, who wasn't remotely their
- 1:01:00Speaker 2: best running back. Means only run for three hundred and
- 1:01:03Speaker 2: forty six yards last year, but he did average five
- 1:01:05Speaker 2: yards carry. That was a really good football team. I
- 1:01:07Speaker 2: think this team takes a huge step back. I really don't.
- 1:01:12Speaker 2: But they were. But they were also one of the
- 1:01:14Speaker 2: most talented teams in the league. So where do they fall?
- 1:01:17Speaker 2: I think lower half. Too many question marks for me
- 1:01:19Speaker 2: to really get on board with Troy. Uh, you know,
- 1:01:23Speaker 2: there are years that you would love that Iowa Troy
- 1:01:28Speaker 2: game and think, boy, that's going to be a fight
- 1:01:30Speaker 2: in a phone booth. Let's take the under. I bet
- 1:01:34Speaker 2: that that over under in years prior wouldn't have been
- 1:01:38Speaker 2: wouldn't have been thirty five and and and it may
- 1:01:41Speaker 2: very well be this year. That game, that game, yeah,
- 1:01:47Speaker 2: that go out it too. I think that game at
- 1:01:49Speaker 2: Memphis they get pounded. We're talking September seventh, early in
- 1:01:52Speaker 2: the season. Yeah, one of the best. They are the
- 1:01:56Speaker 2: team tech if you take the rank Kings, this was
- 1:02:02Speaker 2: the highest ranked team at the end of the year
- 1:02:06Speaker 2: and would have made it again we're talking coaching changes
- 1:02:09Speaker 2: and all of that when the playoff schedule would have
- 1:02:11Speaker 2: come out. But I think Memphis, who actually would have
- 1:02:14Speaker 2: qualified even over East Carolina. Understand East Carolina was a
- 1:02:18Speaker 2: better team, but at the end of the day, Memphis
- 1:02:21Speaker 2: is going to be a really good team. I think
- 1:02:22Speaker 2: got some betting opportunity for us and going into that
- 1:02:25Speaker 2: ball game.
- 1:02:27Speaker 1: Yeah, look at Detroit team, I take a step back,
- 1:02:29Speaker 1: but I do think there's some spots early in their
- 1:02:30Speaker 1: schedule to kind of get an idea they should be
- 1:02:32Speaker 1: two and two before they play the Warhawks. When they
- 1:02:35Speaker 1: get into conference play there because it'll beat they should be.
- 1:02:37Speaker 1: I think they'll beat Nevada, and I think they'll beat
- 1:02:39Speaker 1: Florida A and M. But I would take those two
- 1:02:41Speaker 1: road games at Memphis and Iowa, and they're two drastically
- 1:02:45Speaker 1: different teams, and so it's going to be interesting, say
- 1:02:47Speaker 1: it goes, but I'll be fading them aboth those spots.
- 1:02:50Speaker 1: Ah the ULM Warhawks, Louisiana Monroe. If you haven't going
- 1:02:55Speaker 1: to look at their new helmet for this season, it's
- 1:02:57Speaker 1: pretty dope. They got some good drip going here. Boalden
- 1:03:01Speaker 1: is ushered out after a two to ten record last
- 1:03:04Speaker 1: year where they went defeated in the Sun Belt Conference,
- 1:03:07Speaker 1: going eighth and eight. They bring in Bryant Vincent and
- 1:03:10Speaker 1: a couple of things. I'm just gonna break this down
- 1:03:12Speaker 1: because we're gonna do a huge deep dive on ULM
- 1:03:14Speaker 1: because they're by far one of the worst programs. That
- 1:03:16Speaker 1: plus their the worst program I think in the conference.
- 1:03:19Speaker 1: You're getting this team at four hundred to one if
- 1:03:22Speaker 1: you want to buy it in the sun Belt. I
- 1:03:24Speaker 1: have no idea what their conference, what it would be
- 1:03:27Speaker 1: to win the national championship, and I'll find their over
- 1:03:30Speaker 1: under win til herey minute. Vincent's interesting to me. I
- 1:03:32Speaker 1: thought this was the guy that would probably get the
- 1:03:35Speaker 1: job to be the head coach at UAB, but they
- 1:03:37Speaker 1: brought in Trent Dildo instead and so and they actually
- 1:03:40Speaker 1: played him this year, so it'll be interesting to see
- 1:03:42Speaker 1: how that goes. But if you look to what he's
- 1:03:45Speaker 1: done offensively at UAB and his other stops, he likes
- 1:03:49Speaker 1: to have a big bell cow back and he wants
- 1:03:52Speaker 1: to take the air out of the ball, very slow
- 1:03:56Speaker 1: running clock, try to protect that defense and his defense.
- 1:04:00Speaker 1: This is where he brings back most of his talent
- 1:04:01Speaker 1: this year. Not a defense that was great, but it
- 1:04:04Speaker 1: was actually better than you might think if you kind
- 1:04:06Speaker 1: of look at some of the metrics that are there.
- 1:04:08Speaker 1: I look to be I'm gonna play dead unders on
- 1:04:11Speaker 1: this team, like I may bet him every single week
- 1:04:13Speaker 1: because I think he's gonna try to slow that thing down,
- 1:04:16Speaker 1: protect the defense, take the air out of the ball,
- 1:04:19Speaker 1: and go from there. So that's my only read I've
- 1:04:21Speaker 1: got just from watching what he's done at UAB and
- 1:04:23Speaker 1: in different places. I look to play a lot of
- 1:04:26Speaker 1: unders on ULM this season.
- 1:04:29Speaker 2: The only thing I can guarantee you about this team
- 1:04:32Speaker 2: is that they are gonna have my all name team
- 1:04:34Speaker 2: quarterback with general Booty. Baby. That's right, baby, general, but
- 1:04:39Speaker 2: General of the Booty. You gotta love it. Man. I'm
- 1:04:42Speaker 2: gonna tell you this, this team, he comes over from Oklahoma.
- 1:04:45Speaker 2: I think this team's gonna struggle. I think this is
- 1:04:48Speaker 2: one of the hardest jobs in Division I football. There's
- 1:04:52Speaker 2: just I mean, Monroe's not a great town. I mean,
- 1:04:56Speaker 2: you look at the difference in this program versus Louisiana,
- 1:04:59Speaker 2: and there's just simp no comparison. I mean, it is
- 1:05:02Speaker 2: so much more of a vibrant town and and and
- 1:05:06Speaker 2: better environment. It's actually a good little town that Louisiana
- 1:05:10Speaker 2: and Monroe is dead. It is just, you know, just
- 1:05:14Speaker 2: a sleepy little town. Not a whole lot going on.
- 1:05:18Speaker 2: And I just am not a fan of this program.
- 1:05:20Speaker 2: Think it's a tough, tough job. And at the end
- 1:05:25Speaker 2: of the day, this the results bear it out. This
- 1:05:28Speaker 2: team has only won six games in four years. Six
- 1:05:35Speaker 2: b that's rough. So this is a tough job. Vincent
- 1:05:40Speaker 2: taking over a brutal gig. But you know, good luck
- 1:05:44Speaker 2: to him. Let's see what see what he does. Uh.
- 1:05:47Speaker 2: Obviously we talked about him being the U A B
- 1:05:49Speaker 2: interim and uh gonna be a tough, tough sled in
- 1:05:53Speaker 2: this league. He has an unfriendly schedule, I would say,
- 1:05:57Speaker 2: especially within the league. Uh, they they wait and give
- 1:06:00Speaker 2: them Auburn and November sixteenth, just just a tough run.
- 1:06:05Speaker 2: I mean, this team finishes at South Alabama, at Marshall,
- 1:06:09Speaker 2: Texas State, at Auburn, at Arkansas State, Louisiana ugly, I
- 1:06:15Speaker 2: mean likely going oh and six through that stretch. They
- 1:06:19Speaker 2: get James Madison at home, They're at Troy at Texas.
- 1:06:23Speaker 2: Rough rough schedule here, this team wins three games. I
- 1:06:25Speaker 2: think he's done a good job. I think that's a
- 1:06:27Speaker 2: oh I get it. I think that really is the truth.
- 1:06:30Speaker 2: So uh he gets to four and he's been a
- 1:06:32Speaker 2: miracle worker. So uh, tough sledding, and I think this
- 1:06:35Speaker 2: is the worst team in this division by a long shot.
- 1:06:38Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm with you on this one. So, like I said,
- 1:06:40Speaker 1: I'll be leaning to a lot of under, especially once
- 1:06:43Speaker 1: we can kind of get some tape on what they're
- 1:06:45Speaker 1: gonna be doing from a game film. I was trying
- 1:06:46Speaker 1: to find it over Okay, the over underwin total on
- 1:06:50Speaker 1: US Louisiana Monroe is two and a half skated to
- 1:06:54Speaker 1: the under at minus one eighty five to minus two hundred.
- 1:06:59Speaker 2: Yeah, and that's where Jackson State on the schedule.
- 1:07:03Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, that's Prime's not there anymore. Just a heads
- 1:07:06Speaker 1: up if you're paying attention. All right, Scottie, what are
- 1:07:09Speaker 1: your picks in the sun Belt to take home the belt? Baby?
- 1:07:13Speaker 1: Who gets the buckle?
- 1:07:14Speaker 2: Texas State, I think they're the best team in this league.
- 1:07:16Speaker 2: I think everybody else is going to be playing catch up.
- 1:07:19Speaker 2: I'm excited about Jordan McLeod. I do think that Appy
- 1:07:24Speaker 2: or East Carolina, uh, it represents the other side, James
- 1:07:31Speaker 2: Madison or sorry, yeah, I was thinking the uh of
- 1:07:36Speaker 2: of of of that side of the school. And I
- 1:07:38Speaker 2: don't know why I went to East Carolina, but James Madison.
- 1:07:41Speaker 2: I do think Georgia Southern has got a chance to surprise.
- 1:07:44Speaker 2: Some people don't think they're good enough to win that side,
- 1:07:47Speaker 2: but I think they got a chance to be pretty good,
- 1:07:49Speaker 2: so I like them. If there's a surprise on the
- 1:07:52Speaker 2: other I think it may be from Louisiana on the
- 1:07:57Speaker 2: on the other side of the schedule. So if it's
- 1:07:59Speaker 2: not Texas, I think it could be Louisiana. But I
- 1:08:02Speaker 2: think Texas State has just got a little too much.
- 1:08:06Speaker 2: Agree with you on Butch Jones. They do have enough back.
- 1:08:10Speaker 2: Just concerned a little bit about Rainer taking that sophomore slump.
- 1:08:13Speaker 2: A lot of quarterbacks sit a little bit of a gauge.
- 1:08:16Speaker 2: But boy, they got a lot of people back, and again,
- 1:08:19Speaker 2: like always under him, bring in a lot of people.
- 1:08:21Speaker 2: But I just like that offense. I think they are
- 1:08:25Speaker 2: a good football team. But miss Arkansas State beat Texas
- 1:08:28Speaker 2: State last year, beat them a home, so this is
- 1:08:32Speaker 2: a good team. And let's not forget this team also
- 1:08:34Speaker 2: beat Louisiana last year. So the two teams I'm telling
- 1:08:37Speaker 2: you I think are better than Arkansas State. They beat
- 1:08:40Speaker 2: them last year and they returned more players than anybody
- 1:08:43Speaker 2: in the league. So it gonna be exciting to watch
- 1:08:46Speaker 2: Arkansas State. I think this West is going to be significant,
- 1:08:49Speaker 2: is going to be exciting again. Think it's type heavy.
- 1:08:52Speaker 2: Think the top three in this league on both sides
- 1:08:55Speaker 2: are good football teams. After that, I think it kind
- 1:08:58Speaker 2: of steps back, a lot of question marks everywhere else.
- 1:09:01Speaker 1: I'm going to Arkansas State. Jam you, baby, Butch better
- 1:09:04Speaker 1: have my money and rank the Dukes I like what
- 1:09:08Speaker 1: you're gonna get from both these programs. You're getting fifteen
- 1:09:10Speaker 1: to one and seven fifty to one or eight to one.
- 1:09:12Speaker 1: I'm actually gonna go look and see if i can't
- 1:09:14Speaker 1: get some of these. If you go look, there's actually
- 1:09:16Speaker 1: some books out there where you can bet conference championship exactas.
- 1:09:20Speaker 1: We'll get you a little horse racing method there. I
- 1:09:23Speaker 1: may take me a little Arkansas Estate James Madison EXACTA,
- 1:09:26Speaker 1: and then back that up with some Happy State, Texas
- 1:09:28Speaker 1: State and little combo in there. I'm excited about the Sunbelt.
- 1:09:31Speaker 1: I really think this is the best conference that's not
- 1:09:34Speaker 1: a G five program. They're obviously settled into a sweet
- 1:09:36Speaker 1: spot when it comes to recruiting talent. I think some
- 1:09:39Speaker 1: of the coaching in this conference is good and we're
- 1:09:41Speaker 1: gonna see these guys moving up to the next level.
- 1:09:43Speaker 1: So Sunbelt Baby, I am ready to get it done. Folks,
- 1:09:47Speaker 1: hit us up on Twitter. He'scott did some one. I'm
- 1:09:50Speaker 1: it at net Mark. You can also hit us up
- 1:09:51Speaker 1: at the Crazy Sheet, give us some reviews. Some like
