- 0:00So this time up on the ranch Radio podcast, we're going to
- 0:02delve into prayer and what it does to improve the quality of
- 0:09mind and how prayer could solve a lot of our Earthly problems
- 0:14right now. And I think that's an important
- 0:16topic. So let's discuss it on the ranch
- 0:18radio inside the Revelation podcast.
- 0:47Welcome to the Rancher Radio podcast and inside the
- 0:50Revelation. My name is Jim Watkins.
- 0:51It's a pleasure to be here. I appreciate you so much.
- 0:54The web. Cite your answer, radio dotnet
- 0:57continues to grow and the listenership to these podcasts
- 1:02continues to grow. I get wonderful emails from
- 1:04people all over the country about things that we talk about
- 1:09here on the Rancher Radio podcast and one caught my eye
- 1:15that I want to share a little bit of it with you.
- 1:17You know, we do spend a little bit of time talking about the
- 1:21state of the world, right? And is Yeah, a lot of people are
- 1:26nervous. There's no question.
- 1:30That things are not normal but you know, we are an experimental
- 1:34planet and while it is, you know, we're talking about the
- 1:39end of the world. And I brought up the story of
- 1:43the Three monks. The first monk said that when
- 1:46Jesus comes, I want him to see me praying the other monk said,
- 1:50you know, when Jesus shows up, I want him to see me worshipping
- 1:53and then the third monk said, when Jesus shows up, I'm going
- 1:56to do what I was put here to do which is to clean the latrine.
- 2:02And the other two monks were, are you crazy?
- 2:05And he said, look, you know, whether he comes here or we go
- 2:08there, we have a job to do. And our lives are a testament to
- 2:12that job. And if we do our daily Duty,
- 2:15what is the quote? The ACT is ours.
- 2:17The consequences God. And I thought it was a very good
- 2:25perspective that sometimes we can get caught up in this whole
- 2:28end times thing. But I got a great letter from
- 2:33someone that I'll share this with you.
- 2:36It says, the topic of end times prophecy is a broad one.
- 2:39That seems to be prevalent with modern Christians everywhere.
- 2:43You look, there are so-called end times prophecies that
- 2:47although differing widely in detail tend to have the same.
- 2:51Deleterious effects on the unfortunate folks who get caught
- 2:54up in them. Many seem to live in fear of the
- 2:57Apocalypse, apocalyptic scenarios and divine
- 3:00chastisements. And by the way, I raised my
- 3:03hand, I'm guilty of that. And she writes and consequently
- 3:08focus on doing whatever they can to save themselves from looming.
- 3:11Doom for a lot of people, it can quickly turn into an obsession
- 3:16that Hamptons and even halt spiritual growth.
- 3:20At least that's what's what happened to me some years ago
- 3:23when I became steeped in it and eventually realized what a
- 3:26negative impact it was having on my life.
- 3:30In X Obsession can result in a kind of victim mentality, in
- 3:34which people give up, trying to improve the world around them.
- 3:37And instead, focus on only the chaos happening in the world
- 3:41guilty while in patiently, praying for Jesus to return and
- 3:46instantly transforming everything as true Faith Sons
- 3:49and Daughters. We are anything, but powerless
- 3:51victims. We all have full access to Jesus
- 3:55Spirit of Truth, to teach and guide us.
- 3:57And how to positively, Form ourselves and our world one day
- 4:02at a time, and in the unique way that God has in mind, for each
- 4:07of us. If we abrogate, our
- 4:10responsibility to cooperate with the Holy Spirit toward our own
- 4:14spiritual growth in favor of submissively, waiting for God's
- 4:18judgement to come crashing down on those we may judge as evil
- 4:22and or likewise focus. Our lives solely on waiting for
- 4:26Jesus to return and in one instant change the World and
- 4:30heaven. We only contribute to the total
- 4:33load of the world's spiritual darkness and unwittingly work
- 4:39against God's plan for healing our world.
- 4:43It's truly that only God God's Grace has the power to transform
- 4:47hearts and thus transformed the world, but he is Patiently
- 4:51Waiting For Humanity's consent to this transformation.
- 4:57Starting with each one of us who actively chooses his love and
- 5:02then spreads it to others. Now, they go on and it's such a,
- 5:05I'm going to post this on your answer, radio dotnet.
- 5:08So you can read the full article.
- 5:10It's just a wonderful essay. and I'll tell you, it changed my
- 5:14mind about a lot of perspectives because, you know, how can you
- 5:17not How could you not be bothered by the tension of
- 5:26everyday life? We see it all around us, you
- 5:29know, we see the war in Ukraine, we see more old immorality
- 5:34emerging and I won't even go into some of the things that I
- 5:39read about, but it's just, it's, again, you can get drawn into
- 5:44the darkness and that's what I think ends up happening.
- 5:48When you start taking in too much of what's happening.
- 5:51Because thank, you know, because of Ecology we all see more than
- 5:57we ever saw before and many of these things may have been
- 6:00happening, but we just didn't see it.
- 6:02We didn't know about it back before telephones and TV and
- 6:07video and YouTube, you know, we didn't we didn't see somebody
- 6:12get pushed in front of a bus. We didn't see a high school
- 6:16student, physically assault a teacher, we didn't see those
- 6:21things so they didn't bother us. But now, when we Those things we
- 6:24think, oh my God, this is going on everywhere, but that's not
- 6:27what's going on everywhere. What's going on everywhere
- 6:31mostly is that people are trying to live their lives.
- 6:34With the hand that they are dealt people who live in Africa
- 6:40that are discovering the ranch a book are just the same as the
- 6:44people in America, discovering the are Rancho book, they're
- 6:47looking for meaning in their life and they'll take whatever
- 6:50God will give them. And that's what's going on
- 6:54mostly is that people want to have a good life and to this end
- 6:58I've said and I've written articles about it about the
- 7:01quality of thinking. The next stage in human
- 7:04existence has to be focused and emphasized on the quality of
- 7:08thinking. And the Rancho book has brought
- 7:10me to the following concept that quality of thinking is best
- 7:14attained through prayer, and meditation and worship.
- 7:19Quality of thinking needs to be improved if our world is to
- 7:23withstand the current Schism that results in the ideological
- 7:28struggle between that which is divine and that which is wholly,
- 7:31human and debased. and it is not until our quality of thinking
- 7:37improves that life can improve in more than just superficial
- 7:41ways of loving From paper 5 Section 3 worship is for its own
- 7:47sake, prayer and bodies a cell for creature interest element.
- 7:52That is the great difference between worship and prayer.
- 7:55From paper 5, also from paragraph, 4 section or
- 7:59paragraph 5 section. For these different concepts of
- 8:03the purpose of religion, determine the individuals,
- 8:05attitude in various life situations, and foreshadows the
- 8:09depth of worship, and the nature of his personal habits of
- 8:12prayer. So, There it says, prayer is
- 8:14directly linked to our quality of life.
- 8:18From paper 89, we learned that early prayer was hardly worship.
- 8:21It was really just bargaining with God, for health, wealth,
- 8:26and life. We would pray for good things to
- 8:27happen to us. From paper. 89 it also tells us
- 8:31primitive forms of prayer were nothing more.
- 8:33Nor less than bargaining with the spirits and argument with
- 8:36the gods. The prayer of of a just man was
- 8:40actually held in high esteem. The driving power of even the
- 8:44most material aspects of a cultural civilization is
- 8:48resident in the least material of society's achievements and
- 8:52intelligence May control the mechanism of civilization wisdom
- 8:57May directed. But spiritual idealism, is the
- 9:01energy, which really uplifts and advances human culture from one
- 9:06level of attainment to another spiritual idealism.
- 9:11For paper. 81 at first life was a struggle for existence.
- 9:14Now for a standard of living next, it will be for the quality
- 9:18of thinking the coming Earthly goal of human existence.
- 9:23And that's why I assert we have to improve our quality of
- 9:26thinking now a lot of this can come through education, proper
- 9:30education, properly taught education, not the education
- 9:33that we see this occurring in our higher and secondary levels
- 9:37of Education, where we're being taught to I believe in certain
- 9:42things that may or not be necessarily be true, but they
- 9:45have everything to do with the Earth and nothing to do with the
- 9:48spiritual ideals spiritual idealism.
- 9:50In fact, spiritual idea. It idealism is dead in our
- 9:54teaching institutions. And as simple as it sounds, if
- 9:59we pray all of us living does improve because thinking
- 10:03decision-making improves. It moves us Inward and upward.
- 10:09Sadly, I am willing to wager. Most people do not know how to
- 10:12pray. They feel uncomfortable, praying
- 10:16other or they pray a certain way.
- 10:17A formal address may be taught to us.
- 10:20A lot of us just recite the Lord's Prayer.
- 10:24Which is a look. It's a humble beginning.
- 10:27Even Jesus, when he was hard pressed, formulated a prayer
- 10:30which Millions recite every night when they go to bed.
- 10:33But the master also told us that prayer is communion with God.
- 10:37It is the only method whereby we have access to Divinity, through
- 10:41the act of prayer, the willful act of prayer which I believe
- 10:46achieves, partial contact with the actual Living spirit that
- 10:50could possibly reside in a very small pineal. and inside of our
- 10:54brain, mass Or with the Rancho book refers to as the Citadel of
- 10:59the Mind. Think about it.
- 11:01It's like a Bluth to chip hardwired into us by our maker,
- 11:06but built-in baked in in the original design.
- 11:09Isn't that something special? And we also recall that it was
- 11:12the act of prayer that elevated andon and fonta to human status
- 11:18Freewill status. In fact, the act of prayer, the
- 11:21first prayer was a woman Fanta. She prayed And then, and on
- 11:27prayed, it was heralded by the most highs with such great
- 11:31regard and importance. They sent a message.
- 11:35And let me read a little bit about that message from the
- 11:38ranch of book from paper 62. This is from the life carrier,
- 11:41who was there that day, when the message came from the most highs
- 11:45heralding and celebrating, the fact that the first two true
- 11:49Advanced humans Had been born through the act of prayer.
- 11:55Imagine our joy one day. When the Twins were about 10
- 11:58years old when the spirit of worship made its first contact
- 12:02with the mind of the female twin and shortly thereafter with the
- 12:06mail. We knew that something closely
- 12:09akin to human mind was approaching culmination.
- 12:13And when about a year later, they finally resolved, as a
- 12:16result of meditative thought and purposeful decision to flee from
- 12:21home and journey North, then did the spirit of wisdom, begin to
- 12:25function on our world. And in these two now, recognized
- 12:30human Minds, it was an eventful day on your Rancho when our
- 12:34small group gathered about the planetary Pole, A space
- 12:38communication and receive the first message from salvington.
- 12:43That's the home Sphere for Michael Christ.
- 12:46Michael. Jesus salvington.
- 12:49And the message came papers 62 to the life carriers on Urantia.
- 12:54Greetings, we transmit Assurance of great pleasure on salvington
- 12:58edentia and Jerusalem in honor of the registration of the
- 13:03headquarters of nebadon with these existence of Urantia of
- 13:07Mind of will dignity. So for the first time, the life
- 13:10carriers are getting the message because of andon and fonta
- 13:14because of worship because of prayer, meditative thought and
- 13:18action. We Registered as a planet of
- 13:21will dignity. That's pretty significant it.
- 13:25It actually illustrates greatly the significance of man making
- 13:29contact with his spirit and we can do this willfully every
- 13:34single day of Our Lives, we can wake up in the morning and pray
- 13:38we can stop what we're doing in the middle of the afternoon and
- 13:41meditate clear our minds a little bit and then in the
- 13:44evening, enjoy communion and worship.
- 13:47If you did that for a week, what would change in your life?
- 13:52What would change in the world if everyone did that, they
- 13:56weren't told a specific prayer and and I believe there is a
- 14:01have to go digging for it. But there's a statement that
- 14:04says that every human being with a thought adjuster has the
- 14:08innate ability to know how to pray.
- 14:11It doesn't matter, your education level, it doesn't
- 14:13matter. Your economic level, it doesn't
- 14:16matter your race. It doesn't matter your DNA, if
- 14:20you have a thought. Adjuster, if you have this,
- 14:22Spirit in your mind, which we do, which we are bestowed with,
- 14:27then we have the ability to pray.
- 14:30The purposeful decision of the twins to flee, northward and
- 14:33segregate their offspring from the inferior ancestors.
- 14:37Had been noted. This is the first decision of
- 14:40mind. The human type of mind.
- 14:44And that was why they got the message.
- 14:47The decision of andon and fonta to flee from the primates tribes
- 14:50implies. A quality of Mind far above the
- 14:53base her intelligence, which characterized so many of their
- 14:56later descendants who stooped to mate with their retarded cousins
- 15:00of the Simian tribes. But they're vague feeling of
- 15:04being something, more than mere animals, was due to the
- 15:07possession of personality and was augmented by the indwelling
- 15:11presence of God's spirit, what they call the thought.
- 15:14Adjuster, Again, the spirit can be touched through prayer.
- 15:19It is a real thing and such recognition if better understood
- 15:23by people would lead people to heighten quality of thinking and
- 15:27that would result in better decision-making and who knows
- 15:32happier and healthier people. And so I'll close with this.
- 15:36The simple prayer of faith evidence is a mighty evolution
- 15:40in Human Experience. Whereby the ancient
- 15:43conversations with the fictitious symbol.
- 15:46Of the alter ego of primitive Legion primitive religion.
- 15:50Have become exalted to the level of communion with the spirit of
- 15:54the infinite. And to that of a Bonafide
- 15:57consciousness of the reality of the Eternal God and Paradise,
- 16:01father of all, intelligent creation.
- 16:06Prayer ever has been and ever will be a two-fold human
- 16:10experience. A psychological procedure enter
- 16:14associated with a spiritual technique and these two
- 16:18functions of prayer can never be fully separated from paper, 91
- 16:23enlightened prayer must recognize not only an external
- 16:27and personal God but also an internal and impersonal
- 16:31Divinity. The indwelling spirit.
- 16:35It is altogether fitting that man when he prays should strive
- 16:38to grasp, the concept of the universal father on Paradise,
- 16:42but the more effective technique for most practical purposes will
- 16:46be to revert to the concept of a nearby alter-ego just as
- 16:50primitive. Men was want to do and then to
- 16:53recognize that the idea of this Alter Ego has evolved from a
- 16:57mere fiction to the truth of God's indwelling mortal man in
- 17:02the factual presence of the spirit.
- 17:04So that man can talk face-to-face as it were with a
- 17:09real and genuine and divine Alter Ego that indwells him and
- 17:14is the very presence and the essence of the Living.
- 17:18God, the universal father. I felt it important.
- 17:24It had been in my mind, particularly in the last few
- 17:28months, about the importance of prayer today in the world,
- 17:31because it has occurred to me. And I'm sure it's occurred to
- 17:34you that in the in that Arena, it seems that Modern Man
- 17:38experiences quite a deficit of his understanding of prayer.
- 17:42So hopefully if you're a drive-by to this and you're
- 17:46hearing this podcast for the first time, this helps you
- 17:49understand better. Why the Urantia book is such a
- 17:52marvelous Really Revelation until next time.
- 17:55Thanks for stopping by. To everything.
