Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: Graduated from high school in nineteen ninety three. I don't
- 0:02Speaker 1: remember that song being a standout in my senior year.
- 0:06Speaker 1: What I do remember is Hoop There it Is and
- 0:09Speaker 1: Knocking Boots and those hits.
- 0:12Speaker 2: Knock and Boots is a nineteen ninety one class. I
- 0:14Speaker 2: didn't let me tell you're having that right wow, because
- 0:17Speaker 2: I was in sixth grade and I had the Knock
- 0:19Speaker 2: and Boots cassette single. Hey everybody, welcome to Girls Gone Hallmark,

- 1:08Speaker 2: to have you over there. Good news about The Way
- 1:10Speaker 2: Home tell me it has been officially renewed for a
- 1:13Speaker 2: season two officially officially officially via Hallmark. I will wonder
- 1:17Speaker 2: when they're going to start production on that hopefully soon'd
- 1:20Speaker 2: be great if we could get a season two in
- 1:22Speaker 2: twenty twenty three.
- 1:23Speaker 1: I doubt it. I highly doubt it. Don't you think so?
- 1:26Speaker 1: I do?
- 1:27Speaker 2: I do? I do?
- 1:29Speaker 1: You know?
- 1:29Speaker 2: We all know Hallmark can do a tight turnaround.
- 1:32Speaker 1: Yeah, but.
- 1:35Speaker 2: I think this series was really thoughtfully planned, and I
- 1:40Speaker 2: think that takes a little bit of time to do.
- 1:42Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:43Speaker 1: I wonder if a script has been written or outlined,
- 1:46Speaker 1: like what are they going to do? And it scares
- 1:48Speaker 1: me because, like I always feel like the sophomore year
- 1:50Speaker 1: of a show can sometimes not be great.
- 1:53Speaker 2: That is definitely a possibility. Let me ask Friday Night Lights.
- 1:58Speaker 1: Friday Night Lights season two was not great. I don't
- 2:00Speaker 1: remember it so long ago now.
- 2:01Speaker 2: No, and I believe it was like during the writer's
- 2:03Speaker 2: strike as well.
- 2:04Speaker 1: Abbot Elementary has that for season two.
- 2:06Speaker 2: Oh it's great, that's actually great.
- 2:08Speaker 1: Season two of ted Lasso not great. Had some highlights,
- 2:12Speaker 1: but overall not great.
- 2:13Speaker 2: Yeah, it was a little darker, yes, Season two of
- 2:16Speaker 2: the West Wing great.
- 2:17Speaker 1: Okay, Well it's a fifty to fifty shot here.
- 2:21Speaker 2: We'll be here to see, yes, how it goes. You
- 2:24Speaker 2: need a synopsis, actually, can I do something first, Yeah,
- 2:27Speaker 2: while I pull up a synopsis. Yeah. So we have
- 2:31Speaker 2: made a point of pointing out the release states of
- 2:34Speaker 2: the song titles of the show. The End of the
- 2:37Speaker 2: World as We Know It is a nineteen eighty seven song.
- 2:40Speaker 1: Oh is it?
- 2:41Speaker 2: No? The writers of this show had no obligation to
- 2:46Speaker 2: use song titles from the nineties. Sure, I think the
- 2:49Speaker 2: End of the World as We Know It is a
- 2:51Speaker 2: great title for this episode. But in my mind, this
- 2:54Speaker 2: is a show about the nineties and about present day,
- 2:57Speaker 2: and so I get really hung.
- 2:59Speaker 3: Up on that.
- 2:59Speaker 2: So I have a couple nineties suggestions that could work
- 3:05Speaker 2: for this episode, let me hear it. None of them
- 3:06Speaker 2: are as good as the Arim classic. But it's all
- 3:09Speaker 2: coming back to me now. By Celine Dion. Okay, it's
- 3:17Speaker 2: nice to be with you, mister big. Oh God, I
- 3:20Speaker 2: love that song, as did I A little double meaning
- 3:24Speaker 2: like Cat really wants to she wants Jacob in the present.
- 3:27Speaker 2: She really was dreaming of getting him back in her life.
- 3:30Speaker 2: But then we have a Kat Elliot storyline, We've got
- 3:32Speaker 2: an Alice Spencer storyline. We have all been missing you.
- 3:36Speaker 2: By Puff Daddy and Faith Evans nineteen ninety oh oh.
- 3:39Speaker 1: Yeah, good another good one and.
- 3:41Speaker 2: A little Lighthearted can help. Falling in Love by ub
- 3:44Speaker 2: forty from nineteen ninety three.
- 3:46Speaker 1: That was in nineteen ninety three. I graduated from high
- 3:50Speaker 1: school in nineteen ninety three. I don't remember that song
- 3:53Speaker 1: being a standout in my senior year. What I do
- 3:56Speaker 1: remember is Hooop, there it is and Knocking Boots. Those hits.
- 4:01Speaker 2: Knock and Boots is a nineteen ninety one class. If
- 4:03Speaker 2: you're going to tell, you're having right wow. Because I
- 4:07Speaker 2: was in sixth grade and I had the Knock and
- 4:09Speaker 2: Boots cassette single. And let me tell you, when my
- 4:12Speaker 2: mother discovered that I owned that single, it was how
- 4:16Speaker 2: did I even come to possess that?
- 4:20Speaker 1: He went down to the Talent Record and bought a
- 4:23Speaker 1: single cassette the warehouse.
- 4:26Speaker 2: But that was the hit of my sixth grade year.
- 4:30Speaker 1: Yeah, you're right. It was my sophomore year that that
- 4:32Speaker 1: was the jam.
- 4:34Speaker 2: All right, let's hear a synopsis.
- 4:35Speaker 1: All right. Alice goes to a New Year's eve y
- 4:38Speaker 1: two K party to support her friend. Kat finds a
- 4:41Speaker 1: new mystery about her father, while Dell reveals an old
- 4:45Speaker 1: secret about him that's troubled her stay tuned to the
- 4:49Speaker 1: end of this episode for her prediction from Wendy. Yeah,
- 4:52Speaker 1: I bet I'm not the only one.
- 4:54Speaker 2: This episode opens right where last week's episode left off.
- 4:57Speaker 2: We have Cat chasing a sobbing Alice through the woods.
- 5:00Speaker 2: She really wants to talk, but Alice is upset. She says,
- 5:03Speaker 2: now you want to talk, and she jumps right back
- 5:06Speaker 2: into the pond.
- 5:07Speaker 1: Which is so funny. I thought, I was like, what
- 5:10Speaker 1: a teenage move.
- 5:12Speaker 2: Bye, I'm only hating I'm jumping into the plash like
- 5:16Speaker 2: we could never get away from our parents at fifteen.
- 5:19Speaker 2: I know you I'm running away, But Alice is like
- 5:22Speaker 2: going back in time.
- 5:23Speaker 1: Yeah, it's just the equivalent to like running up to
- 5:25Speaker 1: your room and slamming the door, like she jumps into
- 5:27Speaker 1: the pond.
- 5:28Speaker 2: It was so funny because Kat was so distraught in
- 5:30Speaker 2: that moment. I thought, well, we could follow her.
- 5:32Speaker 1: She could have Yeah, exactly. Next thing, we're in nineteen
- 5:36Speaker 1: ninety nine and the search team is looking for Jacob.
- 5:38Speaker 1: Upon Alice's arrival, Alice talks to Elliott and Nick and
- 5:43Speaker 1: they're out, you know, searching for Jacob, and they're like, oh,
- 5:46Speaker 1: your way is She says she was searching for Jacob.
- 5:49Speaker 1: Alice starts off to the house, but Elliott tells her
- 5:52Speaker 1: it's just family, and she storms away. She goes, I
- 5:55Speaker 1: am family. He's very inksty teenager. Here she gets to
- 6:00Speaker 1: the house in Dell and Colton are selecting a photo
- 6:03Speaker 1: to give to the police, and Colton Issuer's cat that
- 6:06Speaker 1: they will find Jacob, and once Alice gets the cat,
- 6:10Speaker 1: she tells Kat like, I'm so sorry. I did everything
- 6:13Speaker 1: I could, and Kat really just dismisses her in this moment.
- 6:16Speaker 1: She says, it's not about you, and like, I hear
- 6:19Speaker 1: we're having like a miscommunication obviously because Cat's like, I
- 6:23Speaker 1: mean sorry, Alice is talking about a bigger picture here, right,
- 6:27Speaker 1: that Cat is unaware of.
- 6:30Speaker 2: Yeah. I just find Kat's anger with Alice to be odd.
- 6:34Speaker 2: It's clearly misplaced. Cat's frustrating with herself. She's upset about
- 6:38Speaker 2: the situation and she needs somewhere to put that, but
- 6:42Speaker 2: it's not pointed in the right direction, right. Brady tells
- 6:45Speaker 2: Alice to Lee, Yes, Anna, So Brady consoles Cat and
- 6:50Speaker 2: Alice watches from.
- 6:51Speaker 1: The window, and I was like, do we have trauma
- 6:53Speaker 1: bonding here? Like? Is this the first? Like Brady and
- 6:56Speaker 1: Cat like, is this why they stay together for so
- 6:59Speaker 1: long because they had this like shared traumatic experience. But
- 7:05Speaker 1: what does Brady get to stay and Alice doesn't?
- 7:09Speaker 2: I wrote, but why does Brady get to stay? Yeah,
- 7:12Speaker 2: that's a great question because your fifteen year old self,
- 7:15Speaker 2: you probably are going to want the support of your
- 7:17Speaker 2: boyfriend over your best friend. But I thought Kat was
- 7:21Speaker 2: a little unfair in that scene.
- 7:22Speaker 1: I think so too, She's not nice.
- 7:25Speaker 2: Back in present day, Alice is in bed and Kat
- 7:28Speaker 2: brings her food, and Alice is clearly devastated. She feels
- 7:32Speaker 2: like she's lost her best friend, she wasn't able to
- 7:34Speaker 2: save Jacob. She's upset with her mom. Kat wants to
- 7:38Speaker 2: talk to her and Alice is still not interested. But
- 7:41Speaker 2: Kat says, look, we've both been keeping things from each
- 7:43Speaker 2: other and there is no resolution. So we go downstairs
- 7:47Speaker 2: and Dell is asking about Alice. Delle doesn't have the
- 7:49Speaker 2: bigger picture here. Dell just knows like Alice is in
- 7:51Speaker 2: her room and bothered by something, but she wants to
- 7:55Speaker 2: know what happened, and Kat says, oh, she's just having
- 7:57Speaker 2: a mental health day. And I wrote this of what
- 8:00Speaker 2: Dell doesn't know is wild right now, the conversation changes. Course,
- 8:04Speaker 2: Kat is asking Dell about an exhibition, and the information
- 8:08Speaker 2: about this exhibition is kind of doled out slowly because
- 8:13Speaker 2: it's not quite clear immediately what they're talking about exactly.
- 8:16Speaker 3: To me.
- 8:17Speaker 2: Del says she thinks Monica felt badly for blaming her
- 8:21Speaker 2: for tearing down the posters, so she's given Dell this
- 8:23Speaker 2: gift of an exhibition. And in last week's episode, we
- 8:27Speaker 2: saw Dell making pottery. We'll see a lot more about
- 8:30Speaker 2: this this episode, but we went five episodes where I
- 8:33Speaker 2: had no information about Dell being a potter.
- 8:36Speaker 1: Yeah, I thought she did, like honey, I thought she
- 8:39Speaker 1: ran the farm, right, Yeah, the pottery came out of nowhere.
- 8:43Speaker 2: Yes, right, agree. Kat says, you know it's an honor,
- 8:46Speaker 2: look at it for what it is.
- 8:49Speaker 1: Yeah, and Dell feels nervous about it. Elliott brings tea
- 8:52Speaker 1: to Kat outside. I think they're at the Landry house here.
- 8:56Speaker 1: They talk about, you know, giving Alice some space and
- 8:59Speaker 1: cat strug bit because after seeing Jacob like she is upset,
- 9:05Speaker 1: and Elliott comforts her by telling her that she got
- 9:09Speaker 1: a gift of having one more moment with Jacob, and
- 9:12Speaker 1: she tells him like she's just done with the past.
- 9:15Speaker 2: I'm going to leave the past in the past. For
- 9:18Speaker 2: all of one scene, we see Delle entering Alice's room
- 9:22Speaker 2: to check on her, and Dell has one of those
- 9:24Speaker 2: moments where she's able to be kind of the warm, lighthearted,
- 9:27Speaker 2: grandmotherly figure and she coaxes Alice out of her bed
- 9:31Speaker 2: to help her in the studio. She thinks maybe having
- 9:34Speaker 2: something to do with her hands might help distract her
- 9:36Speaker 2: she's going on.
- 9:37Speaker 1: She tells her she's like, life is messy and she
- 9:39Speaker 1: needs to get on with it. And I was like,
- 9:41Speaker 1: that's good advice. Yeah, wallow too long, like whatever she
- 9:45Speaker 1: you know, because obviously Dell does not know what Alice
- 9:47Speaker 1: is upset about. And like, in the nicest way, Delle
- 9:51Speaker 1: was like, come on, you gotta get on with your life.
- 9:54Speaker 1: But she I thought, like, this is one of the nicest,
- 9:57Speaker 1: sweetest scenes between Alice and Dell. Dell is a nice woman.
- 10:03Speaker 2: Yeah, she's a better grandmother than she is a mother.
- 10:05Speaker 1: I agree.
- 10:06Speaker 2: A Kat goes to the Herald and she walks in
- 10:08Speaker 2: and asking Byron for work, and the tone here is
- 10:11Speaker 2: so obvious the second she walks in. But when she's like,
- 10:14Speaker 2: what do you have for me, I'm like, Cat, where
- 10:16Speaker 2: have you been totally? You're like, oh, now I'm done
- 10:18Speaker 2: with my side project. I'm willing to do the job
- 10:20Speaker 2: you hired me for. And I'm typing as I'm watching,
- 10:23Speaker 2: it feels like she's about to get fired, and she does,
- 10:27Speaker 2: which is unsurprising. Byron tells her, you spent too much
- 10:30Speaker 2: time on your own research and basically, you're writing kind
- 10:33Speaker 2: of sucks lately. You were not putting your heart into
- 10:36Speaker 2: the writing. Was already a stretch to bring you on,
- 10:38Speaker 2: and you're not proving to be worth the sacrifice. Out
- 10:42Speaker 2: Kat appears pissed. She's taking it personally, not really rightfully.
- 10:47Speaker 2: So she was very justifiably fired, in my opinion. And
- 10:50Speaker 2: then she's walking out the door. Byron goes, wait, and
- 10:53Speaker 2: I get this glimmer that Kat thinks he's about to
- 10:55Speaker 2: change his mind, and he goes, I need everything you
- 10:59Speaker 2: took from the arcs.
- 11:00Speaker 1: Back from your murder board out. The next thing, we
- 11:04Speaker 1: have Dell and she's you know, making pottery or she's
- 11:07Speaker 1: in her pottery studio and Alice is looking at what
- 11:10Speaker 1: she's made and they're talking about that kind of stuff,
- 11:13Speaker 1: and they talk about why Delle took up pottery in
- 11:16Speaker 1: the first place, and she tells Alice like it helps
- 11:19Speaker 1: her get out of her head, and she explains that
- 11:23Speaker 1: she wants to teach Alice like how to do it.
- 11:25Speaker 1: So it's a very like sweet moment, and they're like
- 11:28Speaker 1: getting ready to like, I don't know, they're doing whatever
- 11:31Speaker 1: on the wheel and walks cat. She doesn't say anything.
- 11:33Speaker 1: She just storms right past them and goes down to
- 11:35Speaker 1: their basement and gets all her articles, pulls her articles
- 11:39Speaker 1: off the board, and she's reminiscing about being on the
- 11:41Speaker 1: porch with Colton crying. I think it's that same scene
- 11:44Speaker 1: where he's like Landry never gives up, right. She pulls
- 11:47Speaker 1: out one of Colton's old shirts from I don't know,
- 11:50Speaker 1: we're just laying there in the basement.
- 11:52Speaker 2: Like at the top of a box.
- 11:53Speaker 1: Yeah, it was super random, and she like takes a
- 11:55Speaker 1: big whiff out of it. And then she finds this
- 11:57Speaker 1: note in the pocket and the note said has the
- 12:00Speaker 1: initials MS in an address and a phone number.
- 12:03Speaker 2: And the note is in shockingly good condition for having
- 12:06Speaker 2: been in a pocket for the last night.
- 12:07Speaker 1: Dunt, dun, dun, what's that note mean?
- 12:09Speaker 2: So we cut to the next morning, and Cat and
- 12:11Speaker 2: Dell are in the kitchen and Kat asks her point
- 12:13Speaker 2: blank about the note, which I appreciate they just get
- 12:15Speaker 2: right to it. Delle claims not to recognize the note
- 12:18Speaker 2: or the number without actually even looking at it, but
- 12:21Speaker 2: she's clearly super weird about it and blows Cat off
- 12:25Speaker 2: and leaves to take breakfast to Alice. We cut to
- 12:27Speaker 2: Kat talking to Elliott and she's sure Della is hiding something.
- 12:31Speaker 2: Kat has mapped the address and there's nothing there, and
- 12:35Speaker 2: Elliott suggests that maybe you're just at loose ends here
- 12:38Speaker 2: with everything going on, maybe we need to pull back.
- 12:41Speaker 2: But Kat is no longer leaving the past in the past,
- 12:43Speaker 2: she's a journalist chasing a story, and she tells Elliott
- 12:46Speaker 2: calling us up and chase this twenty year old note
- 12:49Speaker 2: with her, and how early are these people getting up
- 12:51Speaker 2: that they're able to have these meetings before he needs
- 12:53Speaker 2: to be at school at seven something in the Yeah.
- 12:55Speaker 1: I don't know, like life on the farm must start
- 12:58Speaker 1: really early. So she did convince him, and by doing so,
- 13:02Speaker 1: she says, we can listen to the CDs, the mix
- 13:04Speaker 1: CDs you used to burn. And I had to laugh
- 13:07Speaker 1: here as we watched this because If you don't listen
- 13:09Speaker 1: to our regular podcast on Thursdays, I highly suggest you
- 13:14Speaker 1: do because Meg and I just talked about this same topic,
- 13:18Speaker 1: burn and Seed burning CDs. It's a funny listen. I think.
- 13:23Speaker 1: I think you guys will enjoy. It's on Thursday's Long
- 13:25Speaker 1: Story Short with Megan now Wendy.
- 13:27Speaker 2: Yeah. So we cut to Cat and Elliott. They're on
- 13:29Speaker 2: their little mini road trip singing along to Sister Hazel's
- 13:32Speaker 2: All for You, which is a great song.
- 13:34Speaker 1: I had to look it up. I remember the song.
- 13:36Speaker 1: I didn't know who sang it, and I was like,
- 13:38Speaker 1: is this a one hit? Wonder? Like, I don't remember
- 13:40Speaker 1: anything else by this again?
- 13:41Speaker 2: I think so from nineteen ninety four, let me just
- 13:45Speaker 2: say about this scene as a person who is taking
- 13:49Speaker 2: notes on the show, this show is fast and furious.
- 13:53Speaker 2: There's constantly something happening, there's constant dialogue. The scenes are
- 13:59Speaker 2: very short and they jump. This scene here was a
- 14:03Speaker 2: real outlier to me because it's like sixty to ninety
- 14:07Speaker 2: seconds of them just singing and being yeah, and it
- 14:12Speaker 2: was really fun to watch.
- 14:14Speaker 1: Did you notice the horrible green screen?
- 14:16Speaker 2: I honestly wasn't paying attention because I was watching their faces,
- 14:21Speaker 2: and then there's like a moment towards the end where
- 14:22Speaker 2: they kind of steal.
- 14:23Speaker 1: Glanceshe it gave me long for singing in my car
- 14:27Speaker 1: because my fifteen year old doesn't allow it.
- 14:31Speaker 2: I have had both of my children say, and I said,
- 14:35Speaker 2: excuse me, would you like to get where you are going?
- 14:38Speaker 2: That is the cost I mean of the ride.
- 14:41Speaker 1: I really want somebody in my passenger seat to sing
- 14:45Speaker 1: a duet with me. I think that's what's fun about
- 14:48Speaker 1: being in the car.
- 14:50Speaker 2: My goodness.
- 14:51Speaker 1: After they were finished singing, they pull up to a
- 14:57Speaker 1: like old motel. Hmmm, it's real baits Motelli. Yeah, it
- 15:03Speaker 1: looks like it's abandoned. There's just like stuff everywhere, and
- 15:06Speaker 1: Kat looks disappointed. And I didn't understand the disappointment on
- 15:09Speaker 1: Kat's face in the moment. I thought, oh, she was
- 15:11Speaker 1: disappointed that that's where the address led them to. Until
- 15:17Speaker 1: we come back from commercial and Elliott tells Kat not
- 15:19Speaker 1: to read into what the motel might mean. And then
- 15:22Speaker 1: I was like, oh, it was.
- 15:23Speaker 2: Colton having an affair. Yeah, he says he was a
- 15:27Speaker 2: good man. And then we even see the hourly rates sign.
- 15:31Speaker 2: Hey a motel.
- 15:33Speaker 1: Yeah, she wants to press on and like, look for
- 15:36Speaker 1: a clue to the note, but Elliet is like, there's
- 15:40Speaker 1: nothing to find here.
- 15:41Speaker 2: Its abandoned, and we cut to Byron and Dell packing
- 15:44Speaker 2: up Dell's pottery for her exhibition, and Byron is telling
- 15:50Speaker 2: her that he's stressed about a Harold deadline and he
- 15:53Speaker 2: therefore can't help her set up for the exhibit, and
- 15:55Speaker 2: Delle reminds him that she's a strong, independent woman and
- 15:58Speaker 2: she can do it on her own. But Byron's fishing here.
- 16:02Speaker 2: He wants to know if she's talked to Cat. He
- 16:04Speaker 2: wants to know how much she knows. It's clear here
- 16:07Speaker 2: that Delle does not yet know that Kat has been fired.
- 16:10Speaker 2: Spencer arrives asked to go see Alice, and Delle sends
- 16:13Speaker 2: him upstairs.
- 16:15Speaker 1: Yeah he comes. He knocks on Alice's door, and she's
- 16:19Speaker 1: quite mortified that Spencer is now standing at her bedroom
- 16:23Speaker 1: door and she's in bed, in her pajamas, not put
- 16:27Speaker 1: together to see a boy of her own age. And
- 16:30Speaker 1: he's like, oh, you know, Delle said it was cool.
- 16:33Speaker 1: Now can I just say something here in this moment?
- 16:37Speaker 1: I know we don't do a digit see that with
- 16:41Speaker 1: these episodes, but I had a clear digit see that
- 16:44Speaker 1: in this moment. One scene, Spencer comes in, she's in bed,
- 16:48Speaker 1: the bed sheets are like pulled back. The next scene,
- 16:51Speaker 1: the bed is made and she's sitting on it, but
- 16:53Speaker 1: she's still in pajamas. It's just one of those continuity things. Yeah,
- 16:58Speaker 1: caught my eye. Anyway, I I believe Spencer's over there
- 17:01Speaker 1: because he's like dropping off homework.
- 17:03Speaker 2: For her, the biggest stock of notes I've ever seen.
- 17:05Speaker 1: Yeah, nice guy. He sits on his bed and he
- 17:07Speaker 1: tells her like he's clad. She's feeling better, and Alice
- 17:10Speaker 1: confesses to Spencer that she's been having some hard days
- 17:12Speaker 1: and he wants to take her to dinner, and she
- 17:16Speaker 1: says yes.
- 17:17Speaker 2: So in my notes, I wrote, is this the behavior
- 17:19Speaker 2: of friends? Or was Wendy Wright that Alice has lied
- 17:23Speaker 2: to her mother about Spencer having a girlfriend.
- 17:26Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't know. It's still very unclear because later
- 17:29Speaker 1: spoiler alert, when they're at dinner, she says, where's Zoe?
- 17:33Speaker 2: Yeah, so this feels very date like to me. I
- 17:36Speaker 2: think her to dinner, I agree to. Kat approaches Dell
- 17:39Speaker 2: in her studio. Delle's just making small talk. How was
- 17:43Speaker 2: your day? I gather you're buried in Harold deadlines and
- 17:45Speaker 2: Cat's like, nah, I got the week off works light
- 17:47Speaker 2: over there, And so now we have a contradiction between
- 17:50Speaker 2: what Kat is saying and what Byron is saying. Kat
- 17:54Speaker 2: really wants Delle to talk about this note and insists
- 17:57Speaker 2: that Dell is shutting her out, just like Dell and
- 17:59Speaker 2: Colelton did when Jacob went missing. Dell plays dumb here,
- 18:04Speaker 2: and Kat says their life changed, as did her relationship
- 18:07Speaker 2: with Dell after Jacob went missing. Dell is blaming Kat.
- 18:11Speaker 2: She's like, you ran off, you left with Brady, but
- 18:13Speaker 2: Kat says, I left with Brady because of the change,
- 18:16Speaker 2: like our family changed and you I nothing was ever
- 18:20Speaker 2: the same.
- 18:21Speaker 1: Yeah, it's kind of weird how they went to like
- 18:24Speaker 1: zero to one hundred in this scene, because I feel
- 18:28Speaker 1: like these are things that have not been talked about
- 18:30Speaker 1: for the last six episodes, right, So now it's like
- 18:34Speaker 1: this weird one off conversation. Katz obviously wants to know
- 18:38Speaker 1: more information about the note and is pressing Dell for
- 18:42Speaker 1: more information, and now she just goes in on her
- 18:45Speaker 1: says like, you're shutting me out like you did when
- 18:48Speaker 1: I was a teenager.
- 18:50Speaker 2: Yeah, this seems to be the heart of the breakdown
- 18:54Speaker 2: between Cat and Dell that we're finally getting to, and
- 18:58Speaker 2: to me, it seems like Hat not only lost her
- 19:01Speaker 2: brother but lost her parents right in that moment.
- 19:04Speaker 1: Right the next scene, we are at the point in
- 19:07Speaker 1: Spencer and Alice are having dinner and appears Spencer's made
- 19:11Speaker 1: dinner for her, and Alice asks here where Zoe is?
- 19:15Speaker 1: And Alice and Spencer have like a nice talk about
- 19:19Speaker 1: the future. It's a real nice like, oh, here here, Alice,
- 19:23Speaker 1: here's some friends in present day for you, you know
- 19:26Speaker 1: she needs like, yeah, she needs somebody in present day.
- 19:30Speaker 2: Yeah. And he's kind of fishing for information like do
- 19:33Speaker 2: you see your future in poor day?
- 19:35Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 19:35Speaker 2: And I got to tell you, this feels like a
- 19:36Speaker 2: date to me. They're alone in a dark restaurant.
- 19:40Speaker 1: Yeah, it's funny, like we never knew Spencer like had
- 19:42Speaker 1: aspirations to be a.
- 19:44Speaker 2: Chef, shotting things about many of our characters. Yes, back home,
- 19:48Speaker 2: Cats in the kitchen waiting up for Alice, and Alice
- 19:51Speaker 2: returns home and she appears to have softened a little bit.
- 19:54Speaker 2: She talks about her dinner with Spencer and apologizes for
- 19:58Speaker 2: not being able to save Jake, and that's a heavyweight
- 20:01Speaker 2: for this fifteen year old, this second fifteen year old
- 20:03Speaker 2: to have to carry around. And Kat is lovely and
- 20:08Speaker 2: tells her, of course, it's not her fault, and they
- 20:10Speaker 2: talk through Kat's experience in the past. Alice is glad
- 20:14Speaker 2: she got the chance to get to know Jacob. Kat
- 20:17Speaker 2: is telling Alice here they're having a real like less
- 20:20Speaker 2: mother daughter and more friend to friend conversation. You know,
- 20:23Speaker 2: Kat's telling Alice how much she needed from her parents,
- 20:25Speaker 2: how hard it was on her losing him, and how
- 20:29Speaker 2: she felt that they blamed her. And this is when
- 20:31Speaker 2: Alice realizes that she needs to go back, she needs
- 20:34Speaker 2: to be there for her friend, for her mom. And
- 20:39Speaker 2: I believe this is the moment where she says, Mom,
- 20:41Speaker 2: we were best friends.
- 20:42Speaker 1: Yeah, that was good. That's great. It was really good.
- 20:45Speaker 1: So it's so kind of it's one of those scenes
- 20:48Speaker 1: again where I'm like, I having my having a hard
- 20:51Speaker 1: time like understanding, but like Alice wants to go back
- 20:53Speaker 1: to console her mom as a teenager because her mom
- 20:57Speaker 1: had no one as a teenager.
- 20:59Speaker 2: You know, Kat has talked about this before, about how
- 21:01Speaker 2: her memories of Alice are kind of hazy, like she
- 21:05Speaker 2: just remembers her as a presence unless the specifics right.
- 21:10Speaker 2: But it's interesting to me that Kat doesn't appear to
- 21:13Speaker 2: have any memory of Alice's role in this time.
- 21:16Speaker 1: After Jacob was gone, snow has covered the ground and
- 21:21Speaker 1: Alice realizes she's it's been a while since she's been
- 21:24Speaker 1: last back in nineteen ninety nine. She finds the backpack
- 21:29Speaker 1: that Elliott leaves for her, and there's a note that
- 21:31Speaker 1: says where are you and it's signed from Elliott. Alice
- 21:34Speaker 1: shows up at Cat's house and Delan Colton are arguing
- 21:39Speaker 1: it's New Year's Eve and Delle's begging Colton like not
- 21:44Speaker 1: to go somewhere. Alice knocks on the door into Cat's
- 21:47Speaker 1: room and Cat's really happy to see her. And here
- 21:51Speaker 1: we learned Cat is getting ready to go out to celebrate.
- 21:54Speaker 1: Why to Kay?
- 21:56Speaker 2: Why do Ky?
- 21:57Speaker 1: Why to Kay? The craziness that was Y two K?
- 22:03Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm glad we got a Y two K New
- 22:05Speaker 2: Year's episode in this nineteen ninety nine setting.
- 22:08Speaker 1: Here's where I get worried at. Now though, are we
- 22:11Speaker 1: going to be popping into the year two thousand? Now?
- 22:14Speaker 1: Are they going to be diving back into the pond?
- 22:17Speaker 1: And going to not ninety nine anymore. I don't know,
- 22:21Speaker 1: And that's just going to really throw off our notice
- 22:23Speaker 1: in the nineties, isn't it.
- 22:24Speaker 2: This is true observed in the US. So we cut
- 22:29Speaker 2: to Monica's party and Body Rock by Moby, which was
- 22:32Speaker 2: released in nineteen ninety nine is playing. There's lots of
- 22:35Speaker 2: bucket hats, the fashion is real bad. There are lots
- 22:41Speaker 2: of two thousand glasses, and we've got a countdown to
- 22:45Speaker 2: the millennium clock going, And for a brief moment, Monica
- 22:50Speaker 2: and Kat appear to actually be friends. We hadn't seen
- 22:52Speaker 2: much of them being kind to each other in the past.
- 22:56Speaker 2: They were kind of frenemies, it seemed like. But Monica's
- 22:59Speaker 2: really giving me a dion from clueless vibe or in
- 23:02Speaker 2: this moment, and they've got things like there's a guessing
- 23:06Speaker 2: board for what's actually going to happen on midnight. And
- 23:09Speaker 2: what's funny is Monica's shouts Spillsky watched the carpet, and
- 23:12Speaker 2: we know that that will ultimately be her fie.
- 23:14Speaker 1: I totally missed it. Oh that's funny, But did they
- 23:18Speaker 1: show who he was at all?
- 23:20Speaker 2: Off to the side, we don't get a close up him.
- 23:22Speaker 1: Oh, too funny. I completely missed that. That's really funny.
- 23:27Speaker 2: So Alice, she sees Elliott at the party, which makes
- 23:29Speaker 2: me wonder would Elliott actually be at this party? And
- 23:34Speaker 2: as a lot of people there's a lot of people there,
- 23:36Speaker 2: and Elliott tells Alice that the cops had called off
- 23:41Speaker 2: this search for Jacob the day before. Yeah, what's funny
- 23:44Speaker 2: to me here is Alice is like I lost two
- 23:46Speaker 2: months and like he knows he's been here.
- 23:49Speaker 1: Yeah, right, but.
- 23:51Speaker 2: He also feels like he has lost Cat. He says,
- 23:54Speaker 2: she's either talking to Brady or she's with Brady. She's
- 23:58Speaker 2: pulled away and she's leaned in to where she's getting
- 24:01Speaker 2: the support she feels like she needs.
- 24:03Speaker 1: And then Nick shows up.
- 24:04Speaker 2: Yeah, Nick shows up. He's got his two thousand glasses on,
- 24:09Speaker 2: and we cut back to present day. We've got soft
- 24:14Speaker 2: piano music playing at the pottery exhibition, Monica's messing with
- 24:19Speaker 2: Spencer's food, all the Port Haven adults are there. Kat
- 24:22Speaker 2: and Elliot's there, Rita's there, and Elliott asks if there's
- 24:28Speaker 2: been any progress with Dout and Kat and the answer
- 24:32Speaker 2: is still know. We get a little bit of a
- 24:34Speaker 2: speech letting us know what the heck is happening this
- 24:36Speaker 2: exhibition that we've been planning this entire time. Monica is
- 24:39Speaker 2: now going to be highlighting local artisans and Dell is
- 24:41Speaker 2: the kickoffs, which is good because I'm not super excited
- 24:45Speaker 2: about it. Exhibit with Rita's like this way to the
- 24:47Speaker 2: beach wooden sign.
- 24:48Speaker 1: Oh you're not, I'm sure we won't see that.
- 24:53Speaker 2: Dell graciously thanks Monica. Yeah, we're gonna be one and
- 24:55Speaker 2: done on the local artisans are Yeah. Dell graciously things
- 25:00Speaker 2: Monica and everyone for attending, And she makes some light
- 25:03Speaker 2: jokes about the solitary nature of pottery, but she's seeing
- 25:06Speaker 2: the need for company and collaboration.
- 25:09Speaker 1: Well, this is so funny, because are we to believe
- 25:14Speaker 1: that Dell was not an active member of the community
- 25:18Speaker 1: in the years since losing Jacob. It does not read
- 25:22Speaker 1: that way to me. But her speech about needing company
- 25:27Speaker 1: and collaboration or valuing that now is weird. It's not
- 25:35Speaker 1: like she's like some hermit that's been living out at
- 25:37Speaker 1: the landry farm for the last twenty years, thirty years.
- 25:41Speaker 2: Yeah, that's a good question. How involved?
- 25:43Speaker 1: How she meant?
- 25:44Speaker 2: You know, this is kind of like there was no
- 25:46Speaker 2: carnival for thirty years.
- 25:47Speaker 1: Yeah, exactly.
- 25:48Speaker 2: Situation like time kind of stood still, and may I ask,
- 25:52Speaker 2: is Monica the only person trying to save this town?
- 25:54Speaker 3: Seriously?
- 25:55Speaker 1: She she runs the lobs, surface the carnival. She's now
- 26:00Speaker 1: she's doing local artists.
- 26:02Speaker 2: Is Monica the mayor?
- 26:05Speaker 1: So we cut back to nineteen ninety nine at the
- 26:07Speaker 1: New Year's Eve party and Kat and Elliott are dancing
- 26:10Speaker 1: awkwardly and singing to their sister Hazel song that they
- 26:13Speaker 1: were singing to earlier. She's dancing, he watches it's almost midnight.
- 26:18Speaker 1: Nick pulls Alice into the garage to talk and I
- 26:21Speaker 1: was like, whoa, whoa, where's this going. Yeah, he says
- 26:24Speaker 1: he's mister. She's kind of surprised that he's mister, and
- 26:29Speaker 1: he wants to make it official, like a boyfriend girlfriend thing,
- 26:32Speaker 1: and in hopes that she will come to Port Haven
- 26:37Speaker 1: more and visit. Like if it's official, she will go
- 26:42Speaker 1: missing for two months at a time, like you know,
- 26:44Speaker 1: because they're not allowed to date. He gives her a
- 26:47Speaker 1: fish hook because she has hooked him, and I was like,
- 26:51Speaker 1: it'llly fifteen, And he also asks for help with something
- 26:55Speaker 1: some hyjiinks.
- 26:57Speaker 2: Yeah, we cut back to Kat continuing to dance. Elliott
- 27:00Speaker 2: watching Cat is a little bit manic.
- 27:02Speaker 1: At this point, I wrote Cat getting turned because I
- 27:05Speaker 1: thought she was drinking.
- 27:06Speaker 2: But then I realized, like, we're gearing up.
- 27:09Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah.
- 27:10Speaker 2: Elliott starts to look for Alice because he's clearly worried
- 27:13Speaker 2: about Kat. In this moment. This is no longer they're cute,
- 27:15Speaker 2: white hearted dancing together, and we cut back to Nick,
- 27:19Speaker 2: who's plotting a prank for midnight. We cut back to
- 27:23Speaker 2: the countdown where we see the beginnings of a panic attack.
- 27:26Speaker 2: Back to the garage, Nick cuts the lights, and the
- 27:29Speaker 2: juxtaposition of these two scenes where Nick and Alice are
- 27:32Speaker 2: just kind of having some lighthearted no big deal y
- 27:34Speaker 2: two K fun and Cat breaking down is real interesting editing. Here,
- 27:41Speaker 2: he and Alice have a light moment, they kiss, then
- 27:43Speaker 2: they're screaming from the party and not in a fun way,
- 27:46Speaker 2: and Elliott is calling for Alice.
- 27:48Speaker 1: Right breaks to a commercial. We come back. Kat is
- 27:51Speaker 1: on the floor. She is clearly having a panic attack.
- 27:55Speaker 1: Elliott is trying to help her, and Monica says off
- 27:58Speaker 1: to the side, she just wants attention. Alice helps Kat
- 28:03Speaker 1: through the panic attack, attack, helps her breathe. It through.
- 28:06Speaker 1: I think she even says something like my mom has these.
- 28:09Speaker 2: Yeah. What I thought was interesting is she goes she's
- 28:12Speaker 2: having a panic attack, and Elliott goes, oh what, because
- 28:15Speaker 2: in the nineteen ninety nine vernacular, I don't think anxiety
- 28:18Speaker 2: and panic attack was something that we were talking. Yeah,
- 28:21Speaker 2: probably not now to me, it was very obvious what
- 28:25Speaker 2: was happening. Yeah, it's great. Yeah, well sort of.
- 28:27Speaker 1: I mean I thought she was getting drunk earlier, but
- 28:29Speaker 1: yeah she was.
- 28:30Speaker 2: But at this point it's pretty clear.
- 28:33Speaker 1: Yes, exactly. We hear Kat saying the search is over.
- 28:37Speaker 1: He's gone. He's just gone, and tells Alice that she
- 28:40Speaker 1: had wished she had been there, and she also goes
- 28:44Speaker 1: on to say that her parents don't talk to her
- 28:46Speaker 1: and that they hate her and they blame her for
- 28:48Speaker 1: Jacob being gone, and Alice consoles her. And this is
- 28:54Speaker 1: a really sad moment to me because Kat says that
- 28:56Speaker 1: she wishes the world was actually ending and keep hurting
- 29:00Speaker 1: like that. Yeah, she was hurting so much. I was
- 29:03Speaker 1: so sad. Those are interesting feelings for a teenager to navigate.
- 29:11Speaker 2: Well, Dylan Colton are really failing her, because yes, their
- 29:16Speaker 2: child is missing, but they are now ruining the life
- 29:20Speaker 2: of their other child right by not showing up for her, right.
- 29:24Speaker 1: I mean that's hard, Like, I don't. I haven't ever
- 29:27Speaker 1: had to deal with grief at that kind of level,
- 29:30Speaker 1: so I don't. I probably there's probably no handbook on
- 29:35Speaker 1: how to.
- 29:36Speaker 2: No, I mean, this is the case. This family needed therapy. Yeah,
- 29:39Speaker 2: but I also feel like at some point the adults
- 29:42Speaker 2: need to step up and be adults, Like you have
- 29:44Speaker 2: another child and you are failing her at this moment.
- 29:48Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 29:48Speaker 2: We cut back to present day. Elliot and Kat are
- 29:50Speaker 2: walking on the water and making it it's a beautiful
- 29:52Speaker 2: night for pottery, silly jokes, and Kat saying she doesn't
- 29:56Speaker 2: remember the last time she saw her mom so happy,
- 30:00Speaker 2: And then we just caught right to it. Cat stops
- 30:02Speaker 2: Elliott and there's something in this scene that I almost
- 30:05Speaker 2: feel like it's like a dream.
- 30:09Speaker 1: She says, there's.
- 30:10Speaker 2: Something happening here, isn't there? And Elliott takes off his
- 30:13Speaker 2: glasses and says, I've been waiting a long time to
- 30:16Speaker 2: kiss you. And then he says, and when I do,
- 30:18Speaker 2: it's gonna be perfect, and off he walks. And in
- 30:21Speaker 2: this moment, I love Elliott so much because Kat hath
- 30:25Speaker 2: made him wait so long that not giving her what
- 30:28Speaker 2: she yeah, and the very moment she decides she wants
- 30:31Speaker 2: it is such a great move.
- 30:35Speaker 1: Yeah, I agree, but I'm like, hello, Kat, Yes, something's
- 30:39Speaker 1: happening here, Like it didn't. What about at the school
- 30:42Speaker 1: dance two weeks ago, there was something happening there and
- 30:45Speaker 1: then he had to ruin it with Brady again. Yeah,
- 30:48Speaker 1: so yeah, I was glad that Elliott like held her
- 30:53Speaker 1: off a little bit. Back to nineteen ninety nine, Cat
- 30:56Speaker 1: and Around Alice arrived home from the party. Colton tells
- 30:59Speaker 1: Cat go upstairs. Quietly. He asked Alice why she's not
- 31:02Speaker 1: spending the night. They have some small talk and he
- 31:05Speaker 1: asks about her playing the guitar and her mom and I,
- 31:11Speaker 1: you know, when you just about get ready to cry,
- 31:13Speaker 1: your nose gets all tingly. I had this moment while
- 31:16Speaker 1: watching this scene because he thanks Alice for being there
- 31:21Speaker 1: for Kat. He says something like, thanks for being there
- 31:24Speaker 1: for our.
- 31:25Speaker 3: Girl, and I just was like, I was so sweet,
- 31:29Speaker 3: I had actual tears and did you Oh yeah, yeah,
- 31:34Speaker 3: that was a real moment.
- 31:36Speaker 2: He knows, he knows he's always been the softer one
- 31:41Speaker 2: of the two parents. And I think he knows that
- 31:44Speaker 2: they don't have it to be there for her.
- 31:47Speaker 1: Here's a question, why didn't Alice just stay that night
- 31:51Speaker 1: because Kat knows where she's at. With the exception of
- 31:55Speaker 1: Dell would be like, oh, Alice doesn't come home, but
- 31:57Speaker 1: then like Kat could cover for her. I don't know,
- 32:00Speaker 1: Like why can't there's no urgency now to like get
- 32:03Speaker 1: back to present day.
- 32:05Speaker 2: No, with the exception of they needed a reason for
- 32:06Speaker 2: her to have this conversation with Culton agree. Back at
- 32:10Speaker 2: the pottery exhibition, Dell is finally coming to the realization
- 32:16Speaker 2: that something's up and she can't figure out why Byron's
- 32:18Speaker 2: busy if Kat isn't working, And Cat comes clean and
- 32:22Speaker 2: takes responsibility, and she says she does what landry women do.
- 32:26Speaker 2: They throw themselves into a project. And Delle says, no, no,
- 32:30Speaker 2: that's not what I was doing. I was making ends meet.
- 32:33Speaker 2: There was no money left after your father died, so
- 32:36Speaker 2: I wasn't getting into honey to keep my hands busy.
- 32:40Speaker 2: I was getting into honey to pay the bills. Cat
- 32:44Speaker 2: asks what he spent their money on, and Delle says,
- 32:46Speaker 2: on what men spend money on and don't tell their wives.
- 32:49Speaker 1: Yaike sies, I have a theory about that. We'll talk
- 32:53Speaker 1: about it later. We have a flashback where Dell finds
- 32:56Speaker 1: Cole on the phone with someone and she confronts him
- 32:59Speaker 1: and tells him she's missing him, and Colton is upset
- 33:03Speaker 1: and tells her that he feels like he's the only
- 33:05Speaker 1: one who's forgotten Jacob. They exchange words, and it's New
- 33:09Speaker 1: Year's Eve and Dell wants Colton to go somewhere with her,
- 33:11Speaker 1: but he refuses, and then what Then they're back at
- 33:14Speaker 1: the exhibition, and then there's another flashback.
- 33:18Speaker 2: Yes, Delle's putting on her coat and when she steps outside,
- 33:22Speaker 2: she has this flashback of the two of them sitting
- 33:25Speaker 2: in their living room. The ball is dropping, They're not
- 33:28Speaker 2: speaking to each other. Colton's drinking a beer, Dell's watching Colton.
- 33:31Speaker 2: It's this very uncomfortable.
- 33:33Speaker 1: Cold, awful right moment and such a difference from like
- 33:39Speaker 1: how they were yeah, prior to Jacob's disappearance.
- 33:44Speaker 2: And back in present day, Dell seems to have a
- 33:45Speaker 2: bit of an epiphany.
- 33:48Speaker 1: It takes off for the Herald. We come back from
- 33:50Speaker 1: commercial and Dell is at Byron's office and she asks, Hey, like,
- 33:54Speaker 1: why weren't you at the exhibition and she asks about
- 33:58Speaker 1: firing cat Iron had some sort of accident at the paper.
- 34:04Speaker 1: I was like, are they setting this up somehow? Like
- 34:06Speaker 1: did that she'll fall on him? And now they're going
- 34:08Speaker 1: to find some clue behind the show. Like my ears
- 34:12Speaker 1: are perked up for every single little thing now at
- 34:15Speaker 1: this point. But it looks like he was spending his time.
- 34:17Speaker 1: He was working on an article called The Metriarch of
- 34:21Speaker 1: Port Haven and it's a feature article with Dell and
- 34:26Speaker 1: her students on the farm.
- 34:29Speaker 2: Got back to home. Alice is getting ready for bed
- 34:32Speaker 2: and Dell has left her one of her little trinket
- 34:34Speaker 2: bowls on her nightstand and she has a flashback of Colton,
- 34:39Speaker 2: just the line saying, are you still playing guitar? And
- 34:42Speaker 2: I don't really know what's going on.
- 34:43Speaker 1: Here, oh because I think in the trinket bowl it
- 34:46Speaker 1: has the fish and it's the same fish that's.
- 34:48Speaker 2: On the guitar. Oh okay, I.
- 34:52Speaker 1: Don't know what the role Wanz is of Colton with
- 34:54Speaker 1: the voice over asking her if she plays the guitar,
- 34:57Speaker 1: and then other than that's his guitar, but whatever, I
- 34:59Speaker 1: don't know.
- 35:00Speaker 2: Yeah, no, that makes sense.
- 35:01Speaker 1: Kat is looking at the mystery note. She's looking at
- 35:06Speaker 1: at herself in a mirror.
- 35:07Speaker 2: She's like taking off her jewelry. It's kind of mirroring
- 35:11Speaker 2: what's happening with Alice. She looks again at the note
- 35:14Speaker 2: and then off she goes hustling through the woods to the.
- 35:17Speaker 1: Pond, and it's just standing on that rock considering jumping in.
- 35:21Speaker 1: And that's the end of the episode.
- 35:22Speaker 2: So Dell in this episode alludes to there being another woman. Yes,
- 35:27Speaker 2: Wendy has a theory.
- 35:28Speaker 1: I have a theory. I think that Cat is the
- 35:33Speaker 1: other woman. Adult Cat is the other woman. So she
- 35:36Speaker 1: goes back. Maybe she's trying to help Colton somehow, or
- 35:41Speaker 1: find out what Colton's doing, or I don't know, they
- 35:44Speaker 1: befriend each other.
- 35:46Speaker 2: Yeah, she's using the information that she has in some.
- 35:48Speaker 1: Way, either to help find Jacob or I don't know,
- 35:53Speaker 1: but I think that's who Colton is spending his time with.
- 35:56Speaker 2: Yeah, I think that's a great theory. With only three
- 35:59Speaker 2: episodes left, I do have to say I'm very pleased
- 36:01Speaker 2: at the pacing of these episodes. They get through a lot.
- 36:04Speaker 2: Just I'm getting so nervous for what about how much
- 36:08Speaker 2: information we're going to be left wondering about at the
- 36:10Speaker 2: end of the season.
- 36:11Speaker 1: So I think a lot. Actually, it's got to be like,
- 36:13Speaker 1: are they gonna leave us with a cliffhanger?
- 36:15Speaker 2: Well, see that's the question, right Did they write it
- 36:18Speaker 2: so that it's open to a second season but still
- 36:22Speaker 2: wrapped up enough to be satisfactory to the first season?
- 36:25Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't know.
- 36:26Speaker 2: So there's a lot that I'm waiting on.
- 36:29Speaker 1: I want to share a message that we got on
- 36:32Speaker 1: our Instagram. Okay, it is from user shell Art. It says, hello, ladies,
- 36:39Speaker 1: I've been enjoying your podcast on the way home. I
- 36:41Speaker 1: was fourteen in nineteen ninety nine, so this show really
- 36:44Speaker 1: makes me feel old. So I know I am laughing
- 36:47Speaker 1: because I was a lot older than that in nineteen
- 36:49Speaker 1: ninety nine.
- 36:50Speaker 2: With twenty one.
- 36:51Speaker 1: Thing that I think no one picked up on is
- 36:54Speaker 1: the fact that Kyler Lee played Jane in not another
- 36:58Speaker 1: teen movie, the movie that is a parody of She's
- 37:01Speaker 1: All That and she walks down the stairs and instead
- 37:04Speaker 1: falls and the stairs break.
- 37:06Speaker 2: Oh nice, So.
- 37:08Speaker 1: Kyler Lee played that character now twice. Isn't that funny?
- 37:14Speaker 1: I was like, that's amazing. Catch.
- 37:18Speaker 2: We really needed someone who was fourteen and nineteen ninety
- 37:20Speaker 2: nine for that moment.
- 37:21Speaker 1: I mean, I think I saw that movie in the
- 37:22Speaker 1: movie theater, but I don't remember who.
- 37:24Speaker 2: Actually, well, thank you for that.
- 37:26Speaker 1: Yeah, awesome. Right.
- 37:28Speaker 2: Who's our homie of the week.
- 37:31Speaker 1: I think it's an easy choice.
- 37:32Speaker 2: Who is it. It's Elliott for his slick moves.
- 37:37Speaker 1: For that swoony moment down by the water.
- 37:40Speaker 2: Also, I really liked when he's like taking off his
- 37:42Speaker 2: glasses in the car and they're singing Yeah, I like it.
- 37:45Speaker 1: Too, Like he's I know, he's kind of like this,
- 37:48Speaker 1: like stereotypical, Like I was kind of nerdy in high
- 37:51Speaker 1: school and now I'm like a science tutor at school
- 37:54Speaker 1: or whatever. But like I like these like vibes he's
- 38:00Speaker 1: I mean off me too. Yeah, much more than Brady.
- 38:03Speaker 2: Thank you for listening to this recap of The Way Home.
- 38:06Speaker 2: We'll be back next week with episode eight as well.
- 38:10Speaker 2: We are back to our full and regular schedule, so
- 38:13Speaker 2: we are putting out Hallmark movie reviews. Don't miss our
- 38:16Speaker 2: review from yesterday of The Love Club, Nicole's pen Pal,
- 38:20Speaker 2: and look forward to the Game of Love with Kimberly's
- 38:25Speaker 2: Size Dad at Brookstar Now next week. Happy watching, See
- 38:29Speaker 2: you in the Facebook group, bye bye
