Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: Hello everybody, and welcome to another episode of the Ruffling
- 0:05Speaker 1: the Feathers podcast. In today's episode, we have pre season
- 0:09Speaker 1: football being played across the league. All thirty two teams
- 0:12Speaker 1: have played at least one game, and is it too
- 0:16Speaker 1: early to hit that panic button for the Atlanta Falcons
- 0:19Speaker 1: and the Cleveland Browns? And joining me are my two
- 0:23Speaker 1: co hosts In Brandon and super Nova. Gentleman, what is
- 0:27Speaker 1: going on today?
- 0:29Speaker 2: I don't think it's too early to hit the panic
- 0:30Speaker 2: button for the Falcons, but I know it's lid. I
- 0:33Speaker 2: don't think it's too early hit the panic button for
- 0:34Speaker 2: the Niners either, honestly.
- 0:37Speaker 1: Well, well, in all fantasy, we hit that panic button
- 0:39Speaker 1: for the Niners, we're gonna be uh subject to electrocution
- 0:42Speaker 1: from the substation.
- 0:44Speaker 2: Hey man, all I'm saying is the substation still taking
- 0:47Speaker 2: the sacrifices because McCaffrey still has not practiced.
- 0:50Speaker 1: And Mike Evans hasn't practiced. And I think they lost
- 0:53Speaker 1: somebody else, didn't.
- 0:53Speaker 2: They Yes to probably about nine other people, but yeah, no,
- 0:58Speaker 2: it's it's it's a lot.
- 1:02Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, I don't know, Nova, what do you say?
- 1:04Speaker 1: I mean, you're out there in California so I mean,
- 1:07Speaker 1: do you get a little bit of residual electricity where
- 1:10Speaker 1: you are?
- 1:11Speaker 3: No, because San Francisco goes up north and I'm in
- 1:13Speaker 3: the South area where all the Rams fans apparently hate
- 1:15Speaker 3: the forty nine ers with every passion they got, especially
- 1:19Speaker 3: during that Super Bowl fifty sixth run where the Niners
- 1:22Speaker 3: really invaded Sofi Stadium in an NFC championship game. But
- 1:25Speaker 3: like other than that, Boston Breeze and football obviously, like
- 1:29Speaker 3: co y'all said, and I want to make one special
- 1:31Speaker 3: shout out before you start the episode. High school football
- 1:34Speaker 3: officially starts next week, but shout out to my local
- 1:38Speaker 3: high school, Boma High School, to Cougars. They played the
- 1:40Speaker 3: game this week actually on Friday at Hilo, and they
- 1:45Speaker 3: defeated the Helo Vikings forty nine to six to kick
- 1:47Speaker 3: off the high school football season. So congratulations to Boma
- 1:50Speaker 3: High School.
- 1:51Speaker 1: WHOA, that's fun. That's a fun per Right now, now,
- 1:55Speaker 1: I'm curious for California Nova and Brandon, you can also
- 1:58Speaker 1: answer this if you know anything about North Carolina High School.
- 2:01Speaker 1: I'm in the Florida area and our seasons actually began
- 2:04Speaker 1: next Friday as well. We just had preseason games on
- 2:08Speaker 1: Thursday and Friday Night Nova do they have the thirty
- 2:11Speaker 1: five point rule where if you're off by thirty five
- 2:13Speaker 1: and a half, it's a running clock for the second half.
- 2:16Speaker 3: I don't really recall that one where it's like I
- 2:20Speaker 3: don't really notice the running clock. As most nikings I
- 2:22Speaker 3: covered personally for the Alin Sports Show and for Riverside
- 2:26Speaker 3: TV have never been on a running clock. For the
- 2:29Speaker 3: most part, I've had like I actually had a double
- 2:31Speaker 3: overtime day last last year. That's a funny story.
- 2:34Speaker 1: Oh man, the double Well, why don't you tell us
- 2:36Speaker 1: about it?
- 2:38Speaker 3: Uh So it was a week before. It was before
- 2:41Speaker 3: one of my ocal teams, Spy Week. And you want
- 2:44Speaker 3: to guess how the game.
- 2:45Speaker 1: Ended, Brandon, you go first?
- 2:50Speaker 2: Was it a tie?
- 2:52Speaker 3: I obviously went to overtime, But I'm gonna tell you
- 2:55Speaker 3: right now that double overtime ended because the road team
- 2:59Speaker 3: missed the PA and the home team Patriot. They got
- 3:03Speaker 3: the pat good after day sort a touchdown. They won
- 3:06Speaker 3: fifty to fifty one because the missed pat.
- 3:10Speaker 2: Game. Like, that's crazy.
- 3:12Speaker 1: That just reminds me of the Rams Chiefs games from
- 3:15Speaker 1: what was it twenty twenty.
- 3:16Speaker 3: One, twenty eighteen before covid ah, some of them what
- 3:24Speaker 3: it was in my local network because I even know
- 3:25Speaker 3: it was an ESPN. My local network, APC seven actually
- 3:28Speaker 3: luckily broadcasted this one because you know I'm local to
- 3:31Speaker 3: the Rams.
- 3:33Speaker 1: Well, I mean, that's always a fun thing. And again,
- 3:35Speaker 1: shout outs to all the high school teams that are
- 3:38Speaker 1: starting up their seasons this year. Now I know the
- 3:41Speaker 1: high school that I'm gonna be doing PA announcement for.
- 3:44Speaker 1: They start their season on Friday. They're coming off of
- 3:47Speaker 1: twenty one seven victory and their preseason game, so I
- 3:50Speaker 1: look forward to seeing how they perform in person. I
- 3:53Speaker 1: got a little bit of their early notification. But outside
- 4:01Speaker 1: of that, I mean we I mean, I think it
- 4:04Speaker 1: should be a good, a good season right now. But
- 4:07Speaker 1: again that's high school. Those kids potentially are gonna be
- 4:10Speaker 1: having good seasons this year.
- 4:13Speaker 3: But now we got, as I say, before we go off,
- 4:16Speaker 3: because like especially because they are looking for big salary ships,
- 4:19Speaker 3: you know, trying to get that Division one opportunity.
- 4:22Speaker 1: Yes, and also Nova, I gotta point this out here
- 4:25Speaker 1: because we are going to talk about preseason. I think
- 4:27Speaker 1: we have Brandon. I think we have to get Nova
- 4:30Speaker 1: a number four jersey out of respect for Jade and Daniels.
- 4:34Speaker 3: I was gonna say, I hoping we would have avoided
- 4:37Speaker 3: it for as long as because I was praising Jayan
- 4:38Speaker 3: Daniels for as long as we have for the podcast duration.
- 4:41Speaker 3: But after the news that broke out, it's definitely the
- 4:46Speaker 3: state as reputation. But I don't know what more to say.
- 4:49Speaker 1: But the thing is like, isn't it isn't it more
- 4:51Speaker 1: his team than it is him personally that was making
- 4:55Speaker 1: the scene.
- 4:57Speaker 3: I mean, I feel like Jayden wasn't one that started
- 4:59Speaker 3: it because he filed report to Louisiana State University and
- 5:03Speaker 3: I you know, it didn't work, thought about it, and
- 5:05Speaker 3: it's like, not us feel silly?
- 5:09Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, Brandon, you're the college expert of the
- 5:13Speaker 1: three of us. I mean you would probably know, especially
- 5:15Speaker 1: with the fact that you're Alabama territory. You got the SEC.
- 5:19Speaker 1: I mean, what does a what does Alabama think about
- 5:22Speaker 1: what LSU is doing?
- 5:24Speaker 3: Right now?
- 5:24Speaker 2: Alabama doesn't give us damn about LSU. Let's be so
- 5:27Speaker 2: for real right now, I don't I.
- 5:33Speaker 1: Mean that's fair. I mean if it's not if it's
- 5:36Speaker 1: not Alabama, they don't care. And if it's Auburn well,
- 5:39Speaker 1: they care about them even less.
- 5:42Speaker 2: What makes it funnier is the fact that we go
- 5:44Speaker 2: to LSU on November seventh, but at the same time,
- 5:47Speaker 2: the Iron Bowl is going to be at Alabama, so
- 5:52Speaker 2: we'll be seeing Alburn and the Iron Bowl November twenty eighth.
- 5:56Speaker 1: Ooh, that should be a good a good matchup right there.
- 5:59Speaker 1: I mean whole fully all Burn us to get a
- 6:01Speaker 1: walk off kickoff return touchdown. Again, that's what we'll talk
- 6:05Speaker 1: about that.
- 6:06Speaker 2: Hey hey, hey, hey, yeah Loblow Loblo.
- 6:12Speaker 1: No, but I'm ruffling his feathers already and we're blyens
- 6:15Speaker 1: of the episode.
- 6:16Speaker 2: Hey blows, speaking of Loblo. Sorry, speaking of Loblows, let's
- 6:21Speaker 2: talk about the hit that Jamal Adams had on on
- 6:26Speaker 2: Jackson Dart. Oh. Yes, let's go to kick that one off.
- 6:31Speaker 3: All right. So we're starting a preseason section. So we're
- 6:33Speaker 3: we starting our preseason recap with the Vikings and Giants.
- 6:37Speaker 1: It looks like, yeah, the Vikings won that game thirteen
- 6:41Speaker 1: to ten over the Giants. Uh, Jameis Winston the best
- 6:45Speaker 1: quarterback eight of nine for eighty nine yards. Again, it's preseason,
- 6:50Speaker 1: but I mean, when you have Brandon Allen as your
- 6:53Speaker 1: other quarterback. You kind of have to be better than
- 6:55Speaker 1: Brandon Allen. I would think Jackson Dart, I've all that sack,
- 7:00Speaker 1: and I thought he was dead when he was just
- 7:04Speaker 1: laid right.
- 7:04Speaker 2: There for first twenty seconds and seconds and then protocol too.
- 7:11Speaker 1: And then he goes and says, I think in a
- 7:13Speaker 1: post game press conference or like afterwards, he was like,
- 7:17Speaker 1: it feels like every time that I'm hit, I'm going
- 7:19Speaker 1: into the medical tent. Yeah, because you're getting hit.
- 7:23Speaker 2: Because he's getting run over by a semi truck every
- 7:26Speaker 2: time he gets sacked. Crap.
- 7:29Speaker 3: Maybe we did upgrade Jackson Darts healbots at the ones
- 7:31Speaker 3: that some of the players are using, like the more
- 7:33Speaker 3: patted ones.
- 7:34Speaker 1: Oh you mean the Guardian caps.
- 7:35Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, uses.
- 7:40Speaker 1: Oh my god, blow run, Oh my goodness, hold on,
- 7:48Speaker 1: hold on a second. I think that's gonna work. Here
- 7:53Speaker 1: we go. He punched, he punched. He hit me with
- 7:55Speaker 1: the right, He hit me with the right.
- 7:56Speaker 3: There, I'll talk another giants note here. I mean, this
- 8:00Speaker 3: isn't gonna do much more like favoring for me. But
- 8:03Speaker 3: do you too remember about uh infamous ravens old lignement
- 8:07Speaker 3: Daniel Folele.
- 8:10Speaker 1: I remember hearing about that name before.
- 8:13Speaker 3: He was arguably one of the worst lignements last year
- 8:16Speaker 3: for the Ravens. He or he so he this everly
- 8:19Speaker 3: got cut. He then follows John Harbaugh to the Giants
- 8:24Speaker 3: and there are clips of him just doing basically nothing
- 8:27Speaker 3: at his guard position. He's like hashtags sorry not sorry,
- 8:31Speaker 3: Giants fans.
- 8:32Speaker 1: Almost sounds like he's Elijah Wilkinson from Atlanta last year.
- 8:37Speaker 3: Pretty much.
- 8:38Speaker 1: Yeah, now that that's not good. But uh, I do
- 8:41Speaker 1: remember seeing this, oh circuling on social media nov about
- 8:45Speaker 1: this game. Uh, did you see the JJ McCarthy had
- 8:47Speaker 1: a sixty yard touchdown to Justin Jefferson.
- 8:50Speaker 3: Oh, I saw that clip and it was like, oh,
- 8:52Speaker 3: he dismissed.
- 8:53Speaker 1: Yeah, Brandon, I think you saw that one too, right,
- 8:56Speaker 1: I did?
- 8:57Speaker 2: I did?
- 8:57Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 8:57Speaker 2: Thanks?
- 8:58Speaker 1: Yeah. JJ McCarthy is a bombe.
- 9:02Speaker 2: I think that's putting it politely.
- 9:04Speaker 1: He had a wedding record, for God's sake, and the
- 9:07Speaker 1: preseason didn't he go six and four and it starts.
- 9:14Speaker 1: I'm well, uh I.
- 9:19Speaker 2: Maybe, well that's the stutter.
- 9:22Speaker 3: Maybe you think me for that one.
- 9:26Speaker 2: So his career NFL starts, he posted a six and
- 9:29Speaker 2: four record for one hundred and forty completions. For two
- 9:31Speaker 2: hundred and forty three yards one than six hundred and
- 9:34Speaker 2: thirty two yards, eleven touchdowns and twelve interceptions, eighty one
- 9:40Speaker 2: rushing yards and four rushing tds.
- 9:44Speaker 1: Hashtag bomb. How does he have a wedding record then
- 9:47Speaker 1: with those stats, well, because one of them was one
- 9:51Speaker 1: of those that crazy comeback against Chicago, that one I
- 9:53Speaker 1: remember that was Monday Night football.
- 9:56Speaker 3: And now so possibly when he when he got the
- 9:58Speaker 3: wheels going, but u something happened.
- 10:01Speaker 1: Yeah, Atlanta, because that was week I think it was
- 10:06Speaker 1: week one last year for the Chicago Minnesota on Monday
- 10:10Speaker 1: Night because Minnesota came back. Then it was Minnesota versus
- 10:13Speaker 1: Atlanta on Sunday Night football when Atlanta's defense basically makee. J. J.
- 10:19Speaker 1: McCarthy look like a complete and total bum that he
- 10:21Speaker 1: already was. And I'm not even an Ohio State fan.
- 10:26Speaker 1: So this is not me knarking on the University of Michigan.
- 10:29Speaker 1: This is me watching JJ McCarthy. He is not good.
- 10:35Speaker 2: He's not good at all.
- 10:38Speaker 1: I mean, it says something, and when it says on them.
- 10:41Speaker 1: When Kyler Murray comes in from the Cardinals, the Cardinals
- 10:45Speaker 1: literally told a player who is virtually the shortest player
- 10:50Speaker 1: on the team in Arizona. Go away, we don't want you.
- 10:54Speaker 1: He signs a vet minimum with the Minnesota Vikings, and
- 10:59Speaker 1: he is already named the starter over your first round
- 11:03Speaker 1: pick from two years ago. Right, two years.
- 11:08Speaker 3: I guess, yeah, But it also says another team because
- 11:14Speaker 3: it was a different regime at the time. You know,
- 11:15Speaker 3: the old GM who got fired over this year, who
- 11:19Speaker 3: basically gambled on McCarty. He's not there anymore. So it
- 11:22Speaker 3: was like, for surely he's like gonna have a whole
- 11:25Speaker 3: discussion as well, where it's like, is it the player
- 11:28Speaker 3: that failed the process or was it the team that
- 11:30Speaker 3: failed the process? It could be a mix up both,
- 11:31Speaker 3: But like, I don't know what to make it. McCarty situation,
- 11:34Speaker 3: it's definitely a coach failure as well.
- 11:38Speaker 1: It's definitely a coach failure. But at the same time,
- 11:41Speaker 1: Kevin O'Connell is a really good head coach for Minnesota,
- 11:45Speaker 1: So I don't know if it's so much him so
- 11:47Speaker 1: much that's debatable.
- 11:50Speaker 2: That's debatable.
- 11:53Speaker 1: I mean, I'm willing to give the benefit of the
- 11:55Speaker 1: doubt on on Kevin O'Connell, but I'm not so sure
- 11:58Speaker 1: if it's him more so than is like the quarterback coach,
- 12:02Speaker 1: what is the cour what is going on in the
- 12:03Speaker 1: quarterback room that a player like JJ McCarthy just cannot
- 12:08Speaker 1: get any sort of like understanding of the offensive scheme Because, yes,
- 12:12Speaker 1: Kevin O'Connell has a lot of unique plays in his
- 12:16Speaker 1: playbook and JJ McCarthy can run any of them, and
- 12:20Speaker 1: you have Justin Jefferson on your team.
- 12:25Speaker 2: Well, I know that a lot of a lot of
- 12:27Speaker 2: the issues they have is JJ McCarthy has a really
- 12:30Speaker 2: big had from his time at in Michigan, and I
- 12:33Speaker 2: know he's been known to clash with O'Connell over game
- 12:36Speaker 2: planning and stuff like that. So either Kevin McConnell has
- 12:40Speaker 2: a really good game plan to where he think it's
- 12:41Speaker 2: gonna fit JJ McCarthy's strengths, or JJ McCarthy just doesn't
- 12:46Speaker 2: give a damn because he wants to do whatever he
- 12:48Speaker 2: wants to do and it just doesn't work out because
- 12:50Speaker 2: it goes against the offensive scheme of things.
- 12:54Speaker 3: Jeffie also translates to the whole he was dracked in
- 12:56Speaker 3: a different regime because I remember the GMS, there's new
- 12:59Speaker 3: GM a Minnesota and well that Saint GM. They got
- 13:03Speaker 3: fired believed McCarthy and the new GM might have a
- 13:06Speaker 3: different story.
- 13:08Speaker 2: Well. At the same time, you also have to think
- 13:09Speaker 2: about who the qbs were that were drafted with him
- 13:11Speaker 2: as well. Obviously Cayleb Williams, Jade and Daniels, Drake May,
- 13:15Speaker 2: Penix and Bonix. And even though Boenix was picked after McCarthy,
- 13:20Speaker 2: I still think he's better than McCarthy. It was better
- 13:24Speaker 2: than McCarthy for God's sakes.
- 13:27Speaker 1: I mean, I would agree with that. And that has
- 13:29Speaker 1: nothing to do with that has nothing to do with
- 13:31Speaker 1: me being an Atlanta fan. That has to do with
- 13:34Speaker 1: I've seen more from Pennix than I have from JJ McCarthy,
- 13:37Speaker 1: like Penix has actually gotten some frozen ropes with his passes. McCarthy,
- 13:44Speaker 1: I really haven't seen a frozen rope yet. I've seen ropes,
- 13:47Speaker 1: but they ain't frozen.
- 13:50Speaker 2: Speaking of speaking of very limp noodle ropes, let's talk
- 13:55Speaker 2: about how Cooper Rush performed against the Denver Broncos Ahroncos Falcons.
- 14:03Speaker 1: We're going straight there, Brandon, Well, we're.
- 14:05Speaker 2: Talking about bad QB performances. We might as well just
- 14:08Speaker 2: go ahead and keep the trend going. I know we
- 14:10Speaker 2: really wanted to save the need to save our three
- 14:13Speaker 2: particular teams for the end of you know, the discussions.
- 14:16Speaker 2: But it was kind of a nice segue into this.
- 14:18Speaker 2: At the same time, it was a good shot to
- 14:20Speaker 2: take too.
- 14:21Speaker 1: Sure again that that's a good one. Now, in all fairness,
- 14:28Speaker 1: this game was on ESPN Unlimited, So if you didn't
- 14:31Speaker 1: have it in your local market, which was the Greater
- 14:34Speaker 1: Atlanta area or the greater Denver area, you would have
- 14:37Speaker 1: to have ESPN Unlimited and you could watch this game.
- 14:40Speaker 1: So guess what I did on Friday night, gentlemen, cried.
- 14:45Speaker 3: I watched this game, as as any true fans should.
- 14:50Speaker 1: I watched this game, and my initial reaction to that
- 14:56Speaker 1: game was not great, Bob right, But then I also
- 15:02Speaker 1: remembered it's preseason. You can't overreact to the preseason. But
- 15:08Speaker 1: I did take a page and a half of notes.
- 15:10Speaker 1: I've never done that on a game before. I have
- 15:14Speaker 1: notes about this game. Do you want to hear the notes?
- 15:18Speaker 2: Last? Hear the notes?
- 15:20Speaker 1: All right, here's the notes. Uniforms for Atlanta, because the
- 15:24Speaker 1: brand new uniforms. You got to see those debut. They
- 15:28Speaker 1: are clean on the broadcast. That red actually looks good.
- 15:33Speaker 1: I don't I haven't seen the white yet because they
- 15:35Speaker 1: haven't been on the road. I believe they're gonna be
- 15:36Speaker 1: on the road next week playing the Indianapolis Colts. So
- 15:40Speaker 1: can see the white ones, but the red and the
- 15:42Speaker 1: white pants.
- 15:44Speaker 3: It pops.
- 15:44Speaker 1: It looked really clean on the broadcast now. And I
- 15:49Speaker 1: also got to point out preseason broadcasts. As much as
- 15:52Speaker 1: I like listening to broadcast scenes and nova, you can
- 15:56Speaker 1: attest to this because you are in the broadcasting field
- 15:59Speaker 1: as well. I don't know how I feel, gentlemen, about
- 16:06Speaker 1: the local media being the broadcast team for a preseason game,
- 16:12Speaker 1: you know what I mean?
- 16:14Speaker 3: Yeah, I can definitely see where you're coming from, because,
- 16:16Speaker 3: like you see, these type of people are using like
- 16:19Speaker 3: they're usually the radio people. It's like people that you
- 16:21Speaker 3: tune into when you're listening to the radio and am
- 16:23Speaker 3: able to like watch it on the television screen. It's
- 16:25Speaker 3: pretty much they're tying to, you know, present themselves to
- 16:29Speaker 3: the local media because well, most preseason games, unless nationally
- 16:32Speaker 3: broadcasted by NBC, for example on the Hall of Fame game,
- 16:35Speaker 3: will just be locally. Uh why am I forget any
- 16:40Speaker 3: words right now? What can we televise there? You go
- 16:42Speaker 3: locally televised and it is like the opportunity to show
- 16:46Speaker 3: off like the local reporters and people. So it's like
- 16:48Speaker 3: you have any interviews of like with the starters and
- 16:50Speaker 3: with the coaches as well. Because I had that with
- 16:51Speaker 3: the Rams game, I've we're going to be talking about
- 16:53Speaker 3: it a bit. But yeah, I see where you're coming from.
- 16:57Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm just like hesitant on those kind of broadcasts
- 17:01Speaker 1: because it's like when you have a television broadcasting. Again,
- 17:04Speaker 1: I get it, it's preseason, you're getting out to the media.
- 17:06Speaker 1: I respect these guys and what they're doing. It's just
- 17:11Speaker 1: part of me feels like, when I'm watching this broadcast,
- 17:14Speaker 1: I want you guys to be as unbiased as possible,
- 17:18Speaker 1: and I just don't feel that way when I'm listening
- 17:21Speaker 1: to people that I know our home team base. Like
- 17:24Speaker 1: the Atlanta game had DJ Shockley on the call, and
- 17:28Speaker 1: DJ Shockley is a really good broadcaster, and what he
- 17:32Speaker 1: does with Dave Archer and DJ Rackley for the Falconsultible
- 17:36Speaker 1: podcast great podcast, absolutely incredible. I just don't see him
- 17:42Speaker 1: as a television broadcaster, I really don't. I think he's
- 17:45Speaker 1: got a voice for radio more so than he has
- 17:48Speaker 1: for television.
- 17:49Speaker 2: See.
- 17:49Speaker 3: And that's where I come from, because it's like it's
- 17:52Speaker 3: it's like they comparison. It's just the preseason. It's just
- 17:56Speaker 3: the opportunity for the radio guys like get yuselfs a
- 17:59Speaker 3: wet more known within the community as well as you know,
- 18:02Speaker 3: making their television you know strides. I sometimes as the
- 18:05Speaker 3: local networks will have you know, national uh broadcaster. It's like,
- 18:10Speaker 3: for example, the Chargers game had no illegal as the
- 18:13Speaker 3: Chargers are presented along. It's like hollowing here at Dan Fouts.
- 18:15Speaker 3: And you know, not every broadcast will have national broadcasters.
- 18:19Speaker 3: You know, I am Eagle was also at the Jets
- 18:22Speaker 3: game because you know he's taking a fifiliation with New
- 18:24Speaker 3: York and all such. But I definitely see where you're
- 18:27Speaker 3: coming in with the local broadcast day. I personally don't
- 18:29Speaker 3: mind it, but I could see where you like, I
- 18:30Speaker 3: don't want the radio guys to be on television.
- 18:33Speaker 1: I mean it's not even so much I don't want
- 18:35Speaker 1: them on television, it's just that sometimes it feels like
- 18:38Speaker 1: there their voice doesn't resonate. And again the bias, like
- 18:43Speaker 1: if you're gonna be a television broadcaster, I feel like
- 18:46Speaker 1: you need to call it as even down the line
- 18:49Speaker 1: as you can, and sometimes it just feels like if
- 18:52Speaker 1: you're calling it to one side and it can kind
- 18:55Speaker 1: of muddy the waters. But that was but that was
- 18:57Speaker 1: just a couple of miscellaneous for the Falcons bronxx game.
- 19:02Speaker 1: Here's the real fun notes and I'm shaking. I'm shaking
- 19:05Speaker 1: my paper next to the to the mic.
- 19:07Speaker 3: If I'm shaking the paper, and gentlemen, there's the ASMR.
- 19:12Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm shaking the paperwork here because here's the notes
- 19:16Speaker 1: that I have on this game. Kendall Daniels, number fifty
- 19:21Speaker 1: three for and I think it was fifty three right,
- 19:25Speaker 1: hold on, I've got it right here, Yes, number fifty three,
- 19:27Speaker 1: Kevin Daal Daniels. He was the mic. He was the
- 19:30Speaker 1: green dot because Divine Diablo was not out there, and
- 19:33Speaker 1: it looks like Divine Diablo most likely will be the
- 19:35Speaker 1: green dot this year for Jeff Obrick and the Falcons
- 19:38Speaker 1: would locate in Ellis now that he is back in
- 19:41Speaker 1: New Orleans. So seeing Kendall Daniels on the mic, that
- 19:44Speaker 1: was nice given a rookie such a responsibility early and
- 19:48Speaker 1: it seemed like he was doing a good job. He
- 19:49Speaker 1: had a really good uh crashing on the ball carriers,
- 19:53Speaker 1: especially in the run defense. Run defense wasn't all that
- 19:56Speaker 1: bad outside of a couple of you know, chunk plays.
- 20:01Speaker 1: There was a twenty eight yard Jets sweep where James
- 20:05Speaker 1: Pierce Junior barely missed Cameron Ross number eighty seven, and
- 20:11Speaker 1: he gets right around the right side edge jet sweep.
- 20:14Speaker 1: Set's always like that. If the edge crasher cannot stop
- 20:19Speaker 1: the jet sweep, then the jet sweep is able to
- 20:22Speaker 1: turn that corner and they can get up field in
- 20:25Speaker 1: a hurry because they're already in full speed. So that
- 20:28Speaker 1: was something that was unfortunate. A couple of inside runs.
- 20:31Speaker 1: Not terrible the past defense for Atlanta. Yeah, how do
- 20:39Speaker 1: I say sloppy in more ways than one, because because
- 20:45Speaker 1: it was, it was absolutely acidine from some of these cornerbacks,
- 20:51Speaker 1: Like I have seen better cheese in Green Bay and
- 20:56Speaker 1: I haven't even been to Wisconsin. There were literally twenty
- 21:03Speaker 1: yard catches. Twenty yard catch There was a second and
- 21:06Speaker 1: I think sixteen for Denver from the six yard line
- 21:11Speaker 1: and Jared Stidham stands in the pocket clean as day
- 21:15Speaker 1: and hits the soft spot in a cover two zone
- 21:19Speaker 1: to get twenty yards and a first down. I'm like,
- 21:21Speaker 1: what the hell am I like? Are we back in
- 21:25Speaker 1: regular season form for Atlanta's offense? Off so so or defense?
- 21:32Speaker 3: Sorry? Bad so?
- 21:35Speaker 2: First of all, I thought it was too early to
- 21:37Speaker 2: hit the panic button nearing preseason. This man's over here
- 21:40Speaker 2: at the page at half a note like fuck this player.
- 21:44Speaker 2: Second of all, to be fair, you know, Kendl Daniels
- 21:47Speaker 2: was definitely a bright spot for you, especially alongside of
- 21:50Speaker 2: as Ojalai. That was pretty much he always spotted the
- 21:54Speaker 2: only shinings of your defense.
- 21:56Speaker 1: To be fair, yeah it was. It wasn't all that.
- 21:59Speaker 1: It isn't all that great from from the defense and
- 22:02Speaker 1: Mike Hughes being on a deep one v one against
- 22:04Speaker 1: Courtland Sutton. Then Courtland Sutton has a crazy one handed
- 22:08Speaker 1: back shoulder catch on the left sideline which was insane. Uh,
- 22:13Speaker 1: basically just sloppy slopy slop be slop be sloppy from
- 22:18Speaker 1: the defense and the offense not much better. If that's
- 22:23Speaker 1: the starting offense, well, uh, you might want to stick
- 22:28Speaker 1: a fork in me. Uh. I mean, like, it was
- 22:32Speaker 1: just it was just ridiculous. The second snap of the game,
- 22:35Speaker 1: you have a fumble by Tua because he doesn't look
- 22:39Speaker 1: at the ball like I get that the guy has
- 22:42Speaker 1: a couple of concussion issues, but at the same time,
- 22:45Speaker 1: look at the ball.
- 22:48Speaker 3: I aren't all quarterbacks like tempo to not look at
- 22:50Speaker 3: the ball, because I get it to be like routine.
- 22:53Speaker 2: Well, to be fair, you also have to realize they're
- 22:54Speaker 2: coming from a college aspect, wherever they're used to actually
- 22:57Speaker 2: clapping for their cadence under center as well, so and
- 23:01Speaker 2: they're they're over here trying to get pump fake with
- 23:03Speaker 2: the ball, trying to lead them with their eyes, so
- 23:05Speaker 2: they don't have that NFL vision just shet outside of
- 23:09Speaker 2: a few other slight qbs to where you know they're
- 23:13Speaker 2: they're trying to break these bad habits to make that
- 23:15Speaker 2: fifty three man roster. So it's it's it's straight from
- 23:19Speaker 2: college into an NFL, especially without playing those for those
- 23:23Speaker 2: full four years. It's probably a little bit more of
- 23:26Speaker 2: a transition that I think people give it credit for.
- 23:29Speaker 1: I mean, I'll give you that, and what I'll also say, now,
- 23:31Speaker 1: this was a positive that I did take from the offense,
- 23:35Speaker 1: and again not a whole lot from the starting offense,
- 23:38Speaker 1: but there was one play where was a play action
- 23:41Speaker 1: pass for two would talk about Loa and Brian Robinson Junior.
- 23:45Speaker 1: That was great pass protection from a running back. I
- 23:48Speaker 1: very much liked seeing that from him. I believe that's
- 23:51Speaker 1: set up a quick h swing pass to Kyle Pitts
- 23:54Speaker 1: on the left side. Uh, there was a screen pass
- 23:57Speaker 1: that Denver's defense. They ran the blitz they recognize to
- 24:00Speaker 1: play perfectly to I had to dirted. Starting offense absolutely sloppy,
- 24:06Speaker 1: and Brandon, you brought it up. We got to talk
- 24:09Speaker 1: about Cooper rush, like what the hell was that? Like,
- 24:14Speaker 1: look his second pass interception, but it was tipped at
- 24:18Speaker 1: the line of scrimmage.
- 24:19Speaker 2: So well, that doesn't really I don't think that should
- 24:22Speaker 2: really counts. I don't think that one should ever count
- 24:24Speaker 2: on a QB personally, I understand that that's not how
- 24:26Speaker 2: it works. But at the same time, for the records thoughts,
- 24:31Speaker 2: that's not Cooper's fault.
- 24:33Speaker 1: Honestly, Brandon, I agree with that. I've always said that
- 24:36Speaker 1: for me, the interceptions that I really don't count on
- 24:39Speaker 1: a quarterback is if it hits the receiver in their hands.
- 24:43Speaker 1: If the receiver can put hands on the ball and
- 24:46Speaker 1: the defender gets the interception, that should not be on
- 24:49Speaker 1: the quarterback.
- 24:50Speaker 3: I'm looking at you, Buffalo.
- 24:53Speaker 2: Wow, are we looking at them in the present day,
- 24:56Speaker 2: or we look at them the four failed Super Bowl runs? No?
- 24:59Speaker 1: Yeah, the they got.
- 25:00Speaker 3: Ref balled in the Devery Rugge's divisional game because of that.
- 25:04Speaker 2: Look, I'm also just saying Cooper Rush and Jack Strand
- 25:08Speaker 2: had a better performance than to Ataki Alua do I'm not.
- 25:12Speaker 1: I'm not even giving Cooper Rush a better performance than too.
- 25:15Speaker 1: I'm just giving it straight to Jack Strand, the undrafted
- 25:18Speaker 1: free agent. He was impressive with the way that he
- 25:22Speaker 1: was playing in that game against Denver. And I mean, yes,
- 25:26Speaker 1: it's again it's preseason, can't really take much from it,
- 25:30Speaker 1: but I mean the one drive that Atlanta had really
- 25:33Speaker 1: had all gain in the first half with Cooper Rush
- 25:37Speaker 1: at quarterback, you have a pick six for Jedi Baron
- 25:40Speaker 1: where he literally you watch the play and he throws
- 25:44Speaker 1: it too far inside to where Chris Blair cannot make
- 25:48Speaker 1: a play on the ball. But the defender cant and
- 25:50Speaker 1: the defender tempts is a Jedi Baron and that's a
- 25:52Speaker 1: ninety seven yard pick six. And then you have Jack
- 25:56Speaker 1: Strand come in run the offense really good, very crisp,
- 26:01Speaker 1: very clean, a lot of nice touch passes and then
- 26:05Speaker 1: he got a rushing touch on a quarterback sneak, which
- 26:09Speaker 1: was very nice, so Atlanta didn't gets shut out. But
- 26:12Speaker 1: I think the most shocking thing of all gentlemen in
- 26:16Speaker 1: this game. I have talked long and hard about my
- 26:21Speaker 1: disdain for this player on Atlanta's team, number forty four.
- 26:27Speaker 1: Stuff fumble and who is that the idiot from Notre
- 26:33Speaker 1: Dame called JD. Bertrand.
- 26:39Speaker 3: I need some context for this one. He sucks.
- 26:43Speaker 1: He is the biggest liability on defense I've ever seen
- 26:46Speaker 1: for a linebacker. Every time he is out there on
- 26:50Speaker 1: the field, he is a legitimate liability. He is slow
- 26:53Speaker 1: to recognize, he is slow to attack, he is slow
- 26:56Speaker 1: in coverage. People don't realize this that and JD. Bertrand
- 27:01Speaker 1: Number I'm gonna give him his name one time, and
- 27:04Speaker 1: now I'm gonna call him number forty by his real name.
- 27:07Speaker 1: Every time number forty was out on the field, offensive
- 27:10Speaker 1: coordinator salibated because they knew they had a mismatch. Every
- 27:15Speaker 1: single time he was out there, he sucked. If he
- 27:19Speaker 1: was not on that field in the Patriots game, Atlanta
- 27:22Speaker 1: has a chance to steal that after John Parker Rolla
- 27:25Speaker 1: missed the pat.
- 27:30Speaker 2: Man's got a lot of pens up aggression every these
- 27:32Speaker 2: last few years, just.
- 27:34Speaker 1: At number forty. I have not hated a person on
- 27:37Speaker 1: Atlanta's roster in the last couple of years like I
- 27:40Speaker 1: have this guy since Jalen Mayfield was our left guard.
- 27:46Speaker 1: Remember he came out of that draft. We picked him
- 27:49Speaker 1: in the third round of that draft out of Michigan,
- 27:52Speaker 1: and he said on Twitter, if you don't want your
- 27:54Speaker 1: quarterback to get sacked, picked me. And then Matt Ryan
- 27:58Speaker 1: immediately gets sacked four times because this guy couldn't block
- 28:01Speaker 1: a bright side of a barn against Yes it was
- 28:03Speaker 1: the Eagles offense defensive front, but.
- 28:05Speaker 3: Still that to literally be with Daniel Polly last year.
- 28:12Speaker 1: Yeah, no, he he is absolutely horrible.
- 28:14Speaker 3: He is a bum.
- 28:16Speaker 1: I can under I understand now why we picked uh,
- 28:19Speaker 1: Harold Perkins and Kendall Daniels a lot more in the
- 28:23Speaker 1: draft because they recognize that, oh ship, this guy sucks.
- 28:28Speaker 1: We have to get some depth linebacker because if he
- 28:32Speaker 1: is out there, God help us.
- 28:37Speaker 2: Speaking of speaking of begging God for help, I think
- 28:42Speaker 2: this is a good transition moment to talk about what
- 28:46Speaker 2: the Pittsburgh Steelers did to the Green Bay package.
- 28:49Speaker 3: Let's talk about that. We we can't.
- 28:52Speaker 1: I'm just gonna. I'm just gonna. I'm just gonna. I
- 28:55Speaker 1: want to add on one note, Brandon, because I actually
- 28:57Speaker 1: pulled this stat up about about J. D. Birch and
- 29:00Speaker 1: then we move on.
- 29:02Speaker 2: I gotta give his blood pressure a break.
- 29:05Speaker 1: That is that, that is true. I will call him
- 29:07Speaker 1: down after this. But here's the stat for you guys. JD.
- 29:11Speaker 1: Bertrand allowed the same number of first downs in coverage
- 29:14Speaker 1: in one hundred and seventy eight snaps as Divine Diablo
- 29:18Speaker 1: did in seven hundred and two.
- 29:26Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah, it's not great.
- 29:30Speaker 1: Not great, Bob, not great. Okay, now that my blood
- 29:36Speaker 1: pressure is thoroughly risen, and now we can lower, let's
- 29:41Speaker 1: lower it with a different game, a better game, please.
- 29:44Speaker 3: I mean, Brandon Ibria Packer Steelers. And I gotta say
- 29:48Speaker 3: the one thing I did not because I am unfortunately
- 29:50Speaker 3: friends with a Steelers pant. But we're all good in
- 29:52Speaker 3: that regard. But Drew Hollur, rookie from Penn State, he
- 29:55Speaker 3: looked really good.
- 29:57Speaker 1: Oh, he looked great.
- 30:02Speaker 3: And we got.
- 30:04Speaker 1: I know, we're always there because we're all just like thinking,
- 30:07Speaker 1: let's but no, Drew Allen looked great. Ten to thirteen,
- 30:09Speaker 1: one hundred and fifty three yards a one fifty four
- 30:12Speaker 1: point passering. But he was throwing darts all across the field.
- 30:17Speaker 1: He was incredible.
- 30:19Speaker 3: I really do think that this keeps up well. He
- 30:21Speaker 3: should be keep two over Mason Rudolph.
- 30:25Speaker 2: I think anybody it's a better KEP two than Mason
- 30:27Speaker 2: Rudolf to be so for.
- 30:28Speaker 3: Real, Butty, though, you know you're stingy.
- 30:32Speaker 2: Of course they're stingy. They have Aaron Rodgerson quarterback.
- 30:35Speaker 1: At least for one more year because Aaron Rodgers has
- 30:38Speaker 1: said that he will be retiring after this year.
- 30:41Speaker 2: So did Lebron James. But here we are.
- 30:44Speaker 1: Yeah a sixer now, yeah that yeah, that that That
- 30:49Speaker 1: one's very very interesting. But no, I mean, Drew Allen
- 30:53Speaker 1: was really good for the Pittsburgh Steelers. But I was
- 30:58Speaker 1: really impressed with how Robert Tunyan played for Pittsburgh. Four
- 31:05Speaker 1: catches for sixty one yards. He was getting open and
- 31:08Speaker 1: making some good catches for Pittsburgh. Showcases that he is
- 31:12Speaker 1: one of their better targets for Aaron Rodgers, and if
- 31:16Speaker 1: he gets injured, Drew out.
- 31:20Speaker 2: Well. Also, you have to realize that Robert Tanian already
- 31:23Speaker 2: has chemistry with Aaron Rodgers from their time in Green
- 31:25Speaker 2: Bay as well. So I think he's just going to
- 31:27Speaker 2: be a natural fit for Aaron Rodgers, especially as a
- 31:29Speaker 2: security blanket on those short down situations.
- 31:34Speaker 1: I wouldn't agree more more to say, well, I think
- 31:39Speaker 1: we can also agree with love Spring's ankle. So loves
- 31:45Speaker 1: Sprain's ankle in game. Oh wait, I'm sorry, it's supposed
- 31:48Speaker 1: to be Jordan Love Sprain's ankle. Yeah, who am I
- 31:53Speaker 1: referring to, Brandon? I'm just saying love Sprain's ankle. Who
- 31:56Speaker 1: am I referring to?
- 31:58Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 31:58Speaker 3: Great questions.
- 32:00Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 32:00Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 32:01Speaker 1: I'd have to think better at this, but evidently Jordan
- 32:05Speaker 1: Love sprained his ankle accorna Matt Lafleur. So another injury
- 32:10Speaker 1: in the NFL.
- 32:12Speaker 3: I mean, at best, it's only scilizes for the rest
- 32:14Speaker 3: of the preseason, which I think should be doing in
- 32:16Speaker 3: the first place. He's like, you don't want your starters
- 32:18Speaker 3: and like get to like conditioned.
- 32:23Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean it'll be we are gonna be hearing
- 32:30Speaker 1: about this substation all year long. Nova.
- 32:34Speaker 3: Yeah, even if we're non Niner segments.
- 32:37Speaker 2: Come on, Brandon, give another sacrifice to the substation. It's okay,
- 32:42Speaker 2: who's next, brock pretty Oh, don't do that. Actually, I
- 32:46Speaker 2: can a sop spot for brock Pertty, don't do that
- 32:48Speaker 2: to the man. Yeah, mister irrelevant, I got a sound
- 32:52Speaker 2: spot for him.
- 32:52Speaker 3: He's good. What's the next game, ladies, gentlemen.
- 32:57Speaker 1: Let's move. Let's stay in the division of the Packers
- 33:02Speaker 1: and ironically the division of the Steelers. Let's go with
- 33:05Speaker 1: Lions and Bengals. How's about that one sixteen to fourteen
- 33:09Speaker 1: for the Bengals defeating the Lions. With Josh Johnson being
- 33:14Speaker 1: Cincinnati's lead passer. He's still He's still playing.
- 33:23Speaker 2: I could say the same thing about Joe flat though
- 33:25Speaker 2: also at the same time, Luke Oldmyer like trash.
- 33:30Speaker 3: Yeah oh wait, okay, yeah no.
- 33:34Speaker 1: Luke Almeyer looked absolutely horrible. You know, it's bad when
- 33:38Speaker 1: Joshua Dobbs is a better quarterback than you. You know,
- 33:41Speaker 1: it's also bad when Teddy Bridgewater sees the other quarterbacks
- 33:45Speaker 1: and it's like, you know, Detroit, thank you, I'm gonna
- 33:48Speaker 1: go to the I'm gonna go to the old folks home.
- 33:54Speaker 3: I will say I think I did see a couple
- 33:55Speaker 3: highlights of Joe. Roy'll still getting exact with the new
- 33:58Speaker 3: old line, and like, goodness thing, first.
- 34:00Speaker 1: Play of the game, Nova he gets sacked.
- 34:04Speaker 3: That's beautiful from my ic C because Bengos is still
- 34:07Speaker 3: delusional thinking the offensive fix. Hello, have you ever seen
- 34:11Speaker 3: your coach? Just Staphanell?
- 34:14Speaker 1: I mean, I am just trying to figure out, like, uh,
- 34:18Speaker 1: one of my friends. He actually just picked up Joe
- 34:20Speaker 1: Flacco late in his fantasy football draft, and I'm happy
- 34:25Speaker 1: for him because he got Joe Joe Burrow because you
- 34:27Speaker 1: know that's a good I mean, you got Joe. I
- 34:30Speaker 1: think he got like I think it was a seventh
- 34:32Speaker 1: or eighth round. Like you're getting Joe Burrow in the
- 34:34Speaker 1: seventh or eighth round of a fantasy football drafts.
- 34:38Speaker 2: Sorry, hold on, did you say he got Burrow in
- 34:40Speaker 2: the seventh or eighth Yeah, he's gonna get hurt. We're
- 34:44Speaker 2: talking about Burrow, not Flacco, right, We're talking about the
- 34:48Speaker 2: primary Joe. Yeah.
- 34:50Speaker 3: The Vegals have two Joe. It's a quarterback.
- 34:52Speaker 1: Okay.
- 34:52Speaker 2: So whatever whatever fantasy league that you're in, I want
- 34:56Speaker 2: in that because there's some decision making that happened throughout
- 35:02Speaker 2: the first six rounds of that draft.
- 35:05Speaker 1: Hold on, I can actually I can actually shout out
- 35:07Speaker 1: his his team real quick, because I do have here.
- 35:10Speaker 1: He's got Jaysn Drake London, Chase Brown, Jalen Waddle, Kyron Williams,
- 35:17Speaker 1: DJ Moore, Michael Pittman, Junior, Tony Pollard, he got Joe Burrow.
- 35:23Speaker 3: In the four.
- 35:26Speaker 1: Ninth round, Joe Burrow in the ninth round, then he
- 35:30Speaker 1: got then he finishes with Wan Dale, Robinson, Hunter, Henry,
- 35:33Speaker 1: Blake Korum, Seattle's defense, Jake Bates, Stefan Diggs and one
- 35:40Speaker 1: and on what.
- 35:42Speaker 2: What sort of crack cocaine sort of fantasy leaguer were
- 35:47Speaker 2: playing in to where we take one of the best
- 35:50Speaker 2: red zone target tight ends in the league.
- 35:53Speaker 3: And what the tenth round was it?
- 35:56Speaker 1: Eleven?
- 35:57Speaker 2: I think eleven?
- 35:58Speaker 3: What?
- 35:59Speaker 2: What the actual hell is happening here? That's the type
- 36:04Speaker 2: of that's the type of lead that I'll game plan
- 36:07Speaker 2: for and then pivot because I don't know what the
- 36:08Speaker 2: hell to do anymore.
- 36:11Speaker 3: No thing can see in my camera, but I'm leading
- 36:13Speaker 3: down what.
- 36:17Speaker 2: Sure late game late game defenses, late game ti Joe
- 36:21Speaker 2: Burrow in the eighth or ninth and Hunter, Henry and
- 36:24Speaker 2: the tenth What what is happening here. I don't understand,
- 36:27Speaker 2: And how do you get Stefan Diggs that late? I
- 36:30Speaker 2: understand that the man's no better than a WR two
- 36:32Speaker 2: in Washington, But come on, that man still that man
- 36:37Speaker 2: is still a mouthfeet are they playing half PPR? I'm
- 36:39Speaker 2: trying to figure. I'm trying to understand the logic here.
- 36:41Speaker 1: So that part, that part I don't know about. I
- 36:43Speaker 1: just had the image of his team, but uh, you
- 36:47Speaker 1: want to guess what his team name is?
- 36:49Speaker 2: Oh god, I don't know what.
- 36:54Speaker 1: It takes two of us.
- 36:57Speaker 2: Oh good, Okay, so he's coming up last place in
- 37:00Speaker 2: his and his got it?
- 37:06Speaker 1: Oh many?
- 37:08Speaker 3: We have another an FC nor norph game to talk about.
- 37:11Speaker 3: We got Brown's Bears and a lot of words for
- 37:15Speaker 3: this one.
- 37:16Speaker 1: Oh god, oh man, hold on? Do we do we
- 37:21Speaker 1: have the sound? Do we? Okay? I think this one
- 37:26Speaker 1: is a good sound for that one.
- 37:33Speaker 2: Pretty much all th QB's are absolute dog shit.
- 37:38Speaker 1: That was just abysmal for the Browns and the Bears.
- 37:44Speaker 2: My god, it's really bad when Dashaun Watson posts your
- 37:48Speaker 2: best QB rating and much less to post HARDI added
- 37:51Speaker 2: the three of those that man shouldn't even be in
- 37:54Speaker 2: the NFL.
- 37:56Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 37:57Speaker 1: I mean, look, I say my piece on Deshaun Watson,
- 38:02Speaker 1: like off the field, he's an absolute asshole. What whatever
- 38:06Speaker 1: he did, absolutely and again I do believe he did it,
- 38:09Speaker 1: absolute asshole. I mean, I mean i'mpressed terribly. He definitely
- 38:17Speaker 1: has regrets. But when he was in Houston, he really
- 38:19Speaker 1: was a good quarterback.
- 38:21Speaker 2: Absolutely.
- 38:22Speaker 3: Yeah, that's like what happened to him while he was
- 38:23Speaker 3: out in Cleveland. What happened?
- 38:28Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean Cleveland is basically it's like the Jets,
- 38:31Speaker 1: they're just gonna jet. I mean that they made the
- 38:34Speaker 1: playoffs twice, but that was with Baker Mayfield.
- 38:38Speaker 3: Yeah, one of Baker ed one was apparently with Joe Flacco.
- 38:43Speaker 2: Yeah that's fine. There's still better QB than the three
- 38:46Speaker 2: of them.
- 38:47Speaker 1: Yeah, But the only the only thing that got me
- 38:49Speaker 1: with with Deshaun Watson. And I've said this before, like, look,
- 38:53Speaker 1: if you're a bad person, I you know, naturally I'm
- 38:56Speaker 1: gonna think a little less of you. But when you
- 39:00Speaker 1: have a really bad injury like de Shaun did, where
- 39:03Speaker 1: your achilles tendon is ruptured and then during rehab you
- 39:09Speaker 1: rerupture the same surgically repaired tendon, I offer a little
- 39:14Speaker 1: bit of sympathy for the human body. I don't offer
- 39:17Speaker 1: sympathy for the human being, but the human body. I
- 39:21Speaker 1: don't want to hear about a back to back rupture
- 39:24Speaker 1: on any person. I don't care who you.
- 39:26Speaker 2: Are, see. I just think that has a lot to
- 39:29Speaker 2: do with the fact that he probably just wasn't doing
- 39:33Speaker 2: what he was told or trying to do too much
- 39:37Speaker 2: on something that he was told to not do. You
- 39:39Speaker 2: know what I'm saying, I think it's it's it's the
- 39:42Speaker 2: most It's pretty much how anybody's body operates after, you know,
- 39:45Speaker 2: a major surgery like that. If you're trying to do
- 39:47Speaker 2: too much and you're not following directions, you're gonna risk
- 39:51Speaker 2: reinjury or reaggravation of the same injury.
- 39:54Speaker 3: I will say there's another thing I wanted to point
- 39:56Speaker 3: out about that brownsbarrasy. I don't know if I like
- 39:59Speaker 3: Tyson base It's like I know Hiley Love is not
- 40:01Speaker 3: playing because he's DV why, But like Tyson invasion is
- 40:04Speaker 3: a QB. I don't think he put that good against
- 40:06Speaker 3: that Browns defense.
- 40:07Speaker 2: I mean, thirteen for twenty two, one's sixty nine a
- 40:10Speaker 2: TD in an interception. It's not the best, but at
- 40:13Speaker 2: the same time, he did put up a really good
- 40:15Speaker 2: performance him in Case Keenum. Both Case Keenum kind of
- 40:21Speaker 2: embarrassed him exactly.
- 40:24Speaker 1: Yeah, Case Keenum did. And the other thing that I'm
- 40:27Speaker 1: gonna say about this is we have to talk about
- 40:31Speaker 1: those god awful interceptions that were thrown by Shador Sanders
- 40:37Speaker 1: and Dylan Gabriel, like what we were looking at. We've
- 40:41Speaker 1: seen overthrow interceptions before, but those were just oh my god.
- 40:47Speaker 1: And I saw Chase Daniel try to defend Shador Sanders
- 40:52Speaker 1: one and again credit to him on that one. I mean,
- 40:56Speaker 1: you're trying to find some good in Shador Sanders, who
- 40:59Speaker 1: I think might have a future in the NFL despite
- 41:03Speaker 1: being a fifth round pick. I think he does have
- 41:07Speaker 1: the mental fortitude to be around in the NFL. And
- 41:14Speaker 1: I don't know how Chase Daniel picked up on that
- 41:16Speaker 1: that he spun the ball and apparently he and this
- 41:21Speaker 1: is from Chase Daniel exact words interception by swamp Ass.
- 41:29Speaker 3: I was like, there's also a social media plus I
- 41:30Speaker 3: saw from Kurt Benkert on Twitter saying that apparently Shador
- 41:34Speaker 3: is not holding a ball the way everyone else is.
- 41:37Speaker 2: Yeah, it doesn't surprise me. I think Schandor Sanders is
- 41:39Speaker 2: actually a terrible QB and the only reason he's in
- 41:41Speaker 2: there is because the influence of his daddy. So let's
- 41:44Speaker 2: say that's my take on it.
- 41:47Speaker 1: I mean that's definitely fair. I mean, I definitely think
- 41:53Speaker 1: that he has a bit of a bright spot in
- 41:55Speaker 1: the NFL. I don't know if it's in Cleveland. I
- 41:58Speaker 1: don't know if he's gonna be a j even quarterback
- 42:00Speaker 1: that pulls like a Sam Donald or a Baker Mayfield,
- 42:03Speaker 1: where it's just you go from the team to team
- 42:05Speaker 1: and you finally get one that sticks. But I like
- 42:09Speaker 1: how he throws the ball. It looks like he does
- 42:12Speaker 1: have a poise in the pocket. He doesn't really get
- 42:16Speaker 1: all that razzled, especially coming from Colorado and being drafted
- 42:21Speaker 1: into the NFL. I actually like what I've seen from
- 42:25Speaker 1: Sudor Sanders, But that interception was just ridiculous. And then
- 42:29Speaker 1: Dylan Gabriel, I mean, you're doing a disservice to left
- 42:32Speaker 1: handed quarterbacks, man, And there's only two others really, and
- 42:36Speaker 1: they're in Atlanta.
- 42:38Speaker 2: And they're both hurt, and they're both hurt. Look, I'm sorry,
- 42:43Speaker 2: there's just too there's just too many opportunities to take
- 42:46Speaker 2: to take Atlanta, Chaps.
- 42:47Speaker 1: I'm sorry, it's fun. It's fine. At this point, I'm
- 42:52Speaker 1: used to it. At this point, I'm used to it.
- 42:55Speaker 3: That's kidding, guys.
- 42:57Speaker 1: Ah boy, what game should we? Let's spend the real
- 43:01Speaker 1: We're gonna land.
- 43:02Speaker 2: I gotta, I gotta good one for you.
- 43:04Speaker 1: I got a good one for you.
- 43:08Speaker 2: You ready for this one?
- 43:09Speaker 1: Yeah, we're talking.
- 43:10Speaker 2: About good, We're talking about good rookie QB performances. So
- 43:14Speaker 2: I think that's a good transition into talking about Ty
- 43:16Speaker 2: Simpson of the l A rams Oh yeah, I.
- 43:18Speaker 3: Watched that game.
- 43:20Speaker 1: Oh yeah, everybody was. Everybody was talking about that. I
- 43:24Speaker 1: remember some people were saying that, what Wow.
- 43:26Speaker 2: It was fantastic.
- 43:28Speaker 1: Yes, it was.
- 43:29Speaker 3: Ty Simpson was amazing. That comner a lot of bail incompletions.
- 43:33Speaker 3: And uh, I actually do have another shout out to
- 43:35Speaker 3: make during that Ramskin because this actually makes me feel old.
- 43:38Speaker 3: And I told a couple of my staff members back
- 43:40Speaker 3: to Riverside TV, and it was sportshow about this undrafted
- 43:44Speaker 3: running back, Dean Connors. He was actually attending my community
- 43:48Speaker 3: college when I first started my journalism career over in
- 43:51Speaker 3: the Junior College league, and he caught both touchdowns from
- 43:54Speaker 3: ty Simpson.
- 43:56Speaker 1: Okay yo, that's kind of sick.
- 44:00Speaker 2: Cool. But I'm looking I'm over here looking at because
- 44:02Speaker 2: I did. I did catch a decent amount of that game,
- 44:04Speaker 2: you know, just based on like you know, random highlights
- 44:07Speaker 2: and the random streams and stuff like that. But I'm
- 44:09Speaker 2: over here looking at it. And despite the fact that
- 44:12Speaker 2: Tysonson only had four incompletions to his name, it says
- 44:17Speaker 2: a lot that three of those incompletions were to the
- 44:20Speaker 2: same player. And looking back on those particular highlights, CJ.
- 44:25Speaker 2: Daniels just had a hard time catching the ball. So
- 44:27Speaker 2: you know, if he throws to any other receiver that
- 44:29Speaker 2: he might have had opened in there, it's very well
- 44:31Speaker 2: possible ty Simson could have only had like a one
- 44:33Speaker 2: incompletion preseason game.
- 44:35Speaker 3: Yeah, and based on that perform but see, very well
- 44:37Speaker 3: could be out classing Stetson Bennett, who's been like the
- 44:40Speaker 3: backup quarterback for a good while Ford Rams. And now
- 44:44Speaker 3: we see why Rams took him with that first with
- 44:46Speaker 3: that thirteenth front pick from Atlanta.
- 44:49Speaker 1: Yes, and and some people are and some people are
- 44:52Speaker 1: going out there and being like, hey, Atlanta, look at
- 44:54Speaker 1: what you could have had a quarterback. But but in
- 44:58Speaker 1: all fairness, I'm still in in favor that that trade
- 45:04Speaker 1: was worthwhile. And truthfully, guys, we didn't even talk about that,
- 45:08Speaker 1: but I believe we will talk about that when we
- 45:12Speaker 1: get to our quick contract and update news about everything
- 45:16Speaker 1: that came down with Atlanta in that sort of instance
- 45:20Speaker 1: later in the program.
- 45:22Speaker 3: Do you only think I'm gonna say it to close
- 45:23Speaker 3: out the RAMS segment as the local product, I really
- 45:26Speaker 3: hope Dean Connors makes the fifty three men roster. It
- 45:29Speaker 3: would mean so much for not only myself and my
- 45:31Speaker 3: journalist career, but so much to my local community.
- 45:37Speaker 1: I mean, that would definitely be awesome, and I'm I'm
- 45:39Speaker 1: pulling for Dean Connors. And I'm also just now looking
- 45:43Speaker 1: at the box score real quick, guys, you yeah, I
- 45:48Speaker 1: mean you said you watched this game. Admittedly I did
- 45:50Speaker 1: not see this game. Was Garrett Nussmeier really wearing number
- 45:53Speaker 1: one hundred and forty? No? Was Chris Oladoku wearing number
- 45:58Speaker 1: one hundred and ninety.
- 46:00Speaker 2: No, I'll wear any triple digits.
- 46:04Speaker 1: Yeah, So then ESPN you need to edit your box
- 46:07Speaker 1: score because you've got Chris Oladokun wearing one to ninety
- 46:10Speaker 1: Garrett Nessmayer wearing one fort for Shard Smith wearing two
- 46:14Speaker 1: forty and Amari de Mercado wearing two fifty.
- 46:19Speaker 3: Oh hey, I have this the cardinal season.
- 46:23Speaker 1: Oh, then even and then even better. I'm looking in
- 46:26Speaker 1: the defensive area. Christian Fulton was wearing number eight D.
- 46:33Speaker 1: Wearing number eight D and then a low high. Gilman
- 46:37Speaker 1: is wearing seventeen D. Deshaun Singleton twenty five D, Kiir
- 46:44Speaker 1: Elmb twenty four D, Kevin Knowles thirty five D. Matt
- 46:50Speaker 1: Reis the fourteen s.
- 46:56Speaker 3: What that's crazy?
- 47:01Speaker 1: Oh wait unless, oh wait, no, I think I might
- 47:04Speaker 1: be stupid here, guys, I think that's twenty four oh
- 47:09Speaker 1: or yeah, because he esus so the so they're literally
- 47:13Speaker 1: putting the letter on some of these players.
- 47:18Speaker 3: What are we doing, man.
- 47:22Speaker 1: Less? Uh? Making me go crazy? And I guess. So
- 47:31Speaker 1: let's move on to let's go to the Chargers. Let's
- 47:36Speaker 1: go with the Charges and the Texans twenty seven to
- 47:40Speaker 1: twenty seven to seven for the Chargers defeating the Texans.
- 47:44Speaker 1: And wait a second, la, wait a second, Trey Lance
- 47:48Speaker 1: actually looked good.
- 47:50Speaker 3: Yeah, he's sent back a quarterback for John Jim Harbaugh
- 47:54Speaker 3: and the Charges syst first quicing time, he actually looked
- 47:56Speaker 3: really efficient and he really wasn't any bats possible charged
- 48:00Speaker 3: or except maybe Cameron Dicker who did missing a pat
- 48:04Speaker 3: but like that's the only thing I could really see. However,
- 48:06Speaker 3: there was an injury report and I actually saw his
- 48:09Speaker 3: injury live and God that for the dumb move by
- 48:13Speaker 3: the quarterback personally speaking, because he was that injury exacintitively avoidable.
- 48:17Speaker 3: But I just feel bad.
- 48:19Speaker 1: Yeah, you're talking about Davis Mills, right, no er or
- 48:24Speaker 1: is that Graham Mertz?
- 48:26Speaker 3: Mertz? Yeah, it's grand Burd's like it was before halftime,
- 48:29Speaker 3: and clocks through running instead of going out of bounds.
- 48:32Speaker 3: He's tried to extend to play and then he tears
- 48:34Speaker 3: his ACL apparently, so he.
- 48:37Speaker 1: Did the Patrick Mahomes special.
- 48:43Speaker 2: Yeah, no, Yeah, there's some Kansas City fans just writhing
- 48:46Speaker 2: at that statement right now.
- 48:49Speaker 1: Well, I mean, I mean it was the Patrick Mahomes special.
- 48:51Speaker 1: I mean, Patrick Mahomes doesn't know when to run out
- 48:55Speaker 1: of bounds and he gets al Yeah.
- 48:59Speaker 2: I got a statement on that later.
- 49:02Speaker 3: Oh boy, there wasn't really anything bad for the Chargers,
- 49:06Speaker 3: and I thought, you want to think of the Texans.
- 49:08Speaker 3: It's like, I know it's mostly backups, but it was like, dude,
- 49:11Speaker 3: if you're gonna have backup arguing with the best defense
- 49:13Speaker 3: in the league, you gotta do better than that.
- 49:16Speaker 1: Yeah, and honestly, I'm looking at the box score here, Uh,
- 49:21Speaker 1: tell me about this player Nova KeAndre Lambert Smith four
- 49:27Speaker 1: catches fifty eight yards.
- 49:31Speaker 3: That's just stolid production all around. I mean it was
- 49:34Speaker 3: also like there's also like another think a side note,
- 49:36Speaker 3: I'm not really talking about Smith, but it's like this
- 49:39Speaker 3: whole backup quarterback battle between Trey Lance and oh my god,
- 49:43Speaker 3: I'm not good Nave like DJ, the quarterback that pushed
- 49:47Speaker 3: out of the Clemson system.
- 49:48Speaker 1: It's like, yeah, you you you you waga you waga
- 49:52Speaker 1: la what Brandon? I think I'm just as bad as Nova.
- 49:59Speaker 2: H police hold, I am actually googling this translation because
- 50:04Speaker 2: I don't have a fucking clue.
- 50:08Speaker 3: But yeah, let's like train Lance is winning back back
- 50:10Speaker 3: up a quarterback matter for.
- 50:11Speaker 2: Now, looks like it's oui unga Leiley.
- 50:16Speaker 1: Okay, Okay, let's go with that.
- 50:18Speaker 2: Man. That's just what Google told me, So I'm just
- 50:19Speaker 2: gonna go with that.
- 50:20Speaker 3: And sorry, guys, we're trying to got best out here and.
- 50:24Speaker 1: And and and for that pronunciation you get.
- 50:31Speaker 2: With the assistance of Google.
- 50:34Speaker 3: All right, what's next.
- 50:36Speaker 1: Let's go to the desert, Let's go to the Cardinals
- 50:42Speaker 1: and the Raiders.
- 50:44Speaker 2: Mendoza looked really, really, really good.
- 50:50Speaker 1: Admittedly I gotta agree. I mean, he was so good
- 50:53Speaker 1: he faked out the cameraman on a handof oh.
- 50:57Speaker 3: Wow, yeah he I've seen that before or thankfully as
- 51:01Speaker 3: a videographer myself, I haven't faked out yet, but I
- 51:03Speaker 3: think there's eventually going to go mobile where I get
- 51:05Speaker 3: picked out. But if you're not good, do we not?
- 51:09Speaker 3: That's more since where Clint koopiac to have been dozs
- 51:12Speaker 3: the backup or two Kirk Cousins, like I know Kirk
- 51:14Speaker 3: Cousins had that one give that did well. It was
- 51:16Speaker 3: just like, if you're see Mendoza did this all, he
- 51:18Speaker 3: might actually get to the starting quarterback job a lot
- 51:20Speaker 3: sooner than the Raider system would have liked.
- 51:23Speaker 2: I think. I think if they're smart about it and
- 51:25Speaker 2: they want to actually transition Mendoza into the NFL, they
- 51:29Speaker 2: should take their out at any any team should take
- 51:33Speaker 2: and that's letting their backup get that, you know, making
- 51:36Speaker 2: Mendoza the backup letting their you know, star draft pick,
- 51:40Speaker 2: you know, adapt his way into the NFL, watch the games,
- 51:43Speaker 2: get experienced that way, and then if he wants up
- 51:45Speaker 2: winning out the QB one battle, then he wins out
- 51:47Speaker 2: the QB one battle, you know, and don't we don't
- 51:50Speaker 2: need to have a situation where it goes to you know,
- 51:53Speaker 2: you know, Drew Bledsoe and Tom Brady. You know, Bledsoe
- 51:56Speaker 2: gets hurt, you know, and then Tom Brady takes over.
- 51:59Speaker 2: It thankfully worked out for us. We all know how
- 52:01Speaker 2: that went twenty five years later. But but no, Mendoza.
- 52:08Speaker 2: Mendoza did look very good, you know, I mean, he
- 52:11Speaker 2: had a really there was one particular play he had
- 52:13Speaker 2: a really good laser in the triple coverage and just
- 52:17Speaker 2: hit the receiver dead in his hands. And I was like,
- 52:19Speaker 2: you you really can't get better than that, honestly.
- 52:22Speaker 3: Intelligence right there. You don't teach that. Yeah, And I
- 52:25Speaker 3: think I.
- 52:25Speaker 1: Think I know the player talking about it, because the
- 52:27Speaker 1: linebacker looked like he was in a good like if
- 52:31Speaker 1: that linebacker was a split second earlier, it looked like
- 52:35Speaker 1: it was going to be a pick. But because he
- 52:37Speaker 1: didn't turn his hips around fast enough, that was just
- 52:40Speaker 1: a dime right in there for the reception of the
- 52:43Speaker 1: first down.
- 52:47Speaker 2: Yeah, Mendoza's got a lot of lot of good football,
- 52:50Speaker 2: like you. And if he's he's just gonna trend upwards
- 52:52Speaker 2: for sure. I know I said this. I think in
- 52:56Speaker 2: week two, you know, I totally you know, we were
- 52:58Speaker 2: talking about players I keep our eyes on there in
- 53:00Speaker 2: training camp. Mendos has definitely been mine and he's he
- 53:05Speaker 2: looked every bit as a part of the QB one
- 53:07Speaker 2: that people are expecting him to be.
- 53:09Speaker 1: Well, that's definitely a positive. But I want to talk
- 53:12Speaker 1: about on the Arizona side because I was really impressed
- 53:17Speaker 1: to how Jeremiah Love looked.
- 53:19Speaker 3: He looked.
- 53:21Speaker 1: I thought we were gonna go.
- 53:22Speaker 2: I thought we're gonna go with Florida.
- 53:24Speaker 3: Man.
- 53:29Speaker 1: Nah we we. I don't care about no Gardner Ben's shoe, man,
- 53:33Speaker 1: but I was really impressed to how Jeremiah Loved looked.
- 53:38Speaker 1: He was incredible.
- 53:42Speaker 3: Because, uh, there's some more news with Jeremiah Love is
- 53:44Speaker 3: that he might be out with the preseason with it
- 53:46Speaker 3: looks like if you corrected, if I'm wrong, mcl.
- 53:49Speaker 1: Sprain, hi ankle, think you're right.
- 53:51Speaker 2: Okay, my ankle better than an mcl sprain, but not
- 53:54Speaker 2: near at the same time, at the same same level.
- 53:57Speaker 1: Yeah, no, there was. There was a m clsin for
- 54:01Speaker 1: somebody else.
- 54:03Speaker 3: Okay, I just mis remembering Sefton.
- 54:05Speaker 1: Yeah, but in all fairness, that was the one that
- 54:08Speaker 1: I was definitely looking forward to seeing. I was like,
- 54:10Speaker 1: I was looking forward to seeing Jeremiah Love. He looks
- 54:13Speaker 1: really good. It still kind of pains me to Nazee
- 54:16Speaker 1: Tyler al jeear in a Falcons jersey, But the brother
- 54:21Speaker 1: was trying to get a starting role in the NFL.
- 54:25Speaker 1: He's got it right now in Arizona, and I cannot
- 54:29Speaker 1: wait to see how he performs for them. Still still
- 54:32Speaker 1: has not had a fumble yet in his NFL career,
- 54:34Speaker 1: and I hope that streak continues.
- 54:37Speaker 2: By the way, the other mcl sprain you're thinking of
- 54:39Speaker 2: is Marcus Mariota.
- 54:41Speaker 3: Oh oh yeah, we can transition to Dolphins Commanders now
- 54:44Speaker 3: with that, yes we can.
- 54:46Speaker 1: Let's transition to the Dolphins and the Commanders. With the
- 54:50Speaker 1: Commanders winning twenty to seven over the Dolphins, and uh yeah.
- 54:56Speaker 1: There was another stupid interception in this game, which one
- 55:01Speaker 1: there was four of them, if I remember, I think
- 55:03Speaker 1: it was was a Cam Miller who like overshot his
- 55:08Speaker 1: uh receive or wasn't on the commander side. I know
- 55:10Speaker 1: there was one who was like the it was like
- 55:12Speaker 1: fifteen yards over the receiver's head and the defender picked
- 55:17Speaker 1: off and think it was like inside the five.
- 55:19Speaker 2: Yeah, I think that was Kim Miller's theory that that
- 55:21Speaker 2: kid looked like JJ McCarthy.
- 55:26Speaker 1: Don't want to you do not want to look like
- 55:30Speaker 1: a JJ McCarthy.
- 55:32Speaker 2: Three for eleven, thirty nine yards and two interceptions.
- 55:36Speaker 3: Hey, at the very least, but weak Willis thought to
- 55:37Speaker 3: it was pretty good in his one drive.
- 55:41Speaker 1: Yeah, that ys, Yeah, that that'll agree with. I mean, look,
- 55:46Speaker 1: in all fairness, I actually did like Malik Willis in
- 55:51Speaker 1: UH Tennessee, and I did like him a little bit
- 55:53Speaker 1: in Green Bay as like a backup or a bridge
- 55:57Speaker 1: quarterback because he's got a cannon for a right arm,
- 56:01Speaker 1: and that's something you don't usually see in a right
- 56:03Speaker 1: handed quarterback is a cannon, and he's got one. But admittedly, yeah,
- 56:12Speaker 1: he looked good for Miami in that game. I mean,
- 56:15Speaker 1: Davon h Shan did pretty good. Seven carries for thirty
- 56:19Speaker 1: nine yards, nothing too big to write home about.
- 56:24Speaker 3: Spectacular catch in that game too, I'm blinking who made
- 56:29Speaker 3: that catch?
- 56:31Speaker 1: I know what you're talking about. I just I can't
- 56:35Speaker 1: think of him myself. I Caleb Douglas.
- 56:42Speaker 3: Yeah, Caleb Douglas. He had the spectacular catch.
- 56:45Speaker 1: Yeah, one hand, one hand in one handed juggling catch
- 56:51Speaker 1: with number thirty four. That was who is number thirty
- 56:58Speaker 1: four on Washington's deep Uh, Antonio Hamilton's senior in coverage
- 57:06Speaker 1: makes a crazy one handed catch. Like, if you're making
- 57:11Speaker 1: catch like that, that will definitely help you out and
- 57:15Speaker 1: making like a depth spot on a wide receiver because
- 57:19Speaker 1: let's I mean, most wide receivers rooms are gonna have
- 57:22Speaker 1: like four or five players in that room. So that's
- 57:26Speaker 1: actually a really good catch and a good uh name
- 57:30Speaker 1: for your making a good name for yourself there.
- 57:32Speaker 3: Yeah, I agree, absolutely, all right, next, I think you
- 57:38Speaker 3: could breathe through bucks jets right, Like, there's not much
- 57:41Speaker 3: to say about that one.
- 57:42Speaker 1: All just that people were talking about this Jalen Daniels
- 57:47Speaker 1: kid saying that he is the net like he is
- 57:51Speaker 1: the future in Tampa Bay, Like Tampa fans were actually
- 57:54Speaker 1: like talking this kid up like he is going to
- 57:57Speaker 1: be the next big thing after Baker Mayfield leaves.
- 58:03Speaker 3: Which might be sooner and later. You know, the disrespecting
- 58:06Speaker 3: is true for Baker Mayfield.
- 58:10Speaker 2: They played against the Jetsy thing. It's like, I mean, why,
- 58:15Speaker 2: it's not really something that you could hold a candlestick to,
- 58:19Speaker 2: you know, Like I'm like, I promise you, like the
- 58:22Speaker 2: three high schools in Mike County could probably play against
- 58:24Speaker 2: the Jets defense and probably put up a couple of
- 58:27Speaker 2: ten's in the first quarter. Like it's fine.
- 58:37Speaker 1: I mean, again, he's not wrong, though, but there's a
- 58:39Speaker 1: reason why the Jets acronym is just and the season.
- 58:43Speaker 3: Which is now just at the preseason.
- 58:47Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, I mean that that one works. On that one.
- 58:52Speaker 1: But I mean, if there's at least one bright spot
- 58:56Speaker 1: for the Jets is an absolute incredible receiver has a
- 59:02Speaker 1: crazy one handed behind the back catch in warm ups
- 59:07Speaker 1: and then he basically goes up and over on a
- 59:11Speaker 1: third down in the game against Tampa Bay, which it
- 59:16Speaker 1: was just incredible.
- 59:19Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 59:20Speaker 2: Okay, Now, Gary Wilson's really the only sorry, yeah, Gary
- 59:25Speaker 2: Wilson's really the only only aspect of the Jets that
- 59:30Speaker 2: I'm ever concerned about. Really, I'm not concerned about Bristol
- 59:36Speaker 2: Brasil is a great running back. I'm just not concerned
- 59:38Speaker 2: about him.
- 59:39Speaker 3: Okay, so we got like maybe like one we're going
- 59:41Speaker 3: before we go for our games, which is I think
- 59:43Speaker 3: Panther's bills first game ever at new Heimark Stadium.
- 59:48Speaker 2: Oh you need the Mark Stadium.
- 59:50Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, you mean you mean the really good stadium,
- 59:53Speaker 1: right right, Nova, Like.
- 59:55Speaker 3: I think that's the last thing we gotta go for
- 59:56Speaker 3: before we get to our games. No, no, we got
- 1:00:01Speaker 3: we got to oh yeah, oh yeah, apparently everyone's in
- 1:00:06Speaker 3: the mills again.
- 1:00:09Speaker 1: Well, I mean yes, so.
- 1:00:12Speaker 2: Yeah, no, so so of course Josh Allen was like,
- 1:00:14Speaker 2: Josh Allen, Katie Picket looked very good for Carolina. Sixteen
- 1:00:18Speaker 2: for nineteen ninety two yards and a TV cool deal.
- 1:00:22Speaker 2: It's it's at the end of the day. As a
- 1:00:25Speaker 2: Carolina native, it's Carolina. At the end of the day,
- 1:00:28Speaker 2: it's just Carolina.
- 1:00:30Speaker 1: They made the yeah, with an eight and nine record,
- 1:00:35Speaker 1: to the point where Steve Smith says they're going to
- 1:00:37Speaker 1: finish eight and nine this year while sweeping Atlanta.
- 1:00:42Speaker 2: Exactly, Like winning your division at eight and nine is
- 1:00:45Speaker 2: not exactly the best thing in the world.
- 1:00:48Speaker 3: So you know, it's basically rams at least.
- 1:00:54Speaker 2: Yeah, sure, but yeah, it's still Carolina. I'd be embarrassed
- 1:00:58Speaker 2: if I'm the Rams.
- 1:01:01Speaker 1: It's still Carolina.
- 1:01:03Speaker 3: So but apparently it was the injury to DJ Boord
- 1:01:05Speaker 3: in the game too.
- 1:01:07Speaker 1: Yeah, it was. There was some something that happened to
- 1:01:11Speaker 1: I think it was like a leggings or if I'm
- 1:01:13Speaker 1: not mistaken.
- 1:01:14Speaker 3: Right, Yeah, studio we have have it somewhere.
- 1:01:18Speaker 1: Uh, probably probably somewhere, but no, I mean I.
- 1:01:22Speaker 3: Can search it. We could search it in the day
- 1:01:24Speaker 3: because it seems good.
- 1:01:25Speaker 2: It says it was a Buffalo's water receiver DJ Marris
- 1:01:28Speaker 2: quote unquote good to go after suffering.
- 1:01:30Speaker 3: Oh yeah, concern it says right here. Actually, Brandon was
- 1:01:34Speaker 3: the one that posted this one Jeff Mueller from Twitter
- 1:01:36Speaker 3: concern for a right high close brain as a defender
- 1:01:39Speaker 3: rolled over this planet foot into dor suflection the version.
- 1:01:43Speaker 3: Things you hate to see in preseason.
- 1:01:46Speaker 1: I mean, not wrong, there things you hate to see
- 1:01:48Speaker 1: in the preseason. But also, I mean, I know Brandon
- 1:01:52Speaker 1: just brought up with Kenny Pickett looking good. Is it
- 1:01:54Speaker 1: too soon a panic on Bryce Young?
- 1:01:56Speaker 2: No, No, it's no.
- 1:01:58Speaker 1: It might be for Hayes King though, yeah, Haynes King
- 1:02:07Speaker 1: might be count as days might might be. Uh, but uh,
- 1:02:14Speaker 1: Bill's Queens six and a third to Carolina King to checkmate.
- 1:02:22Speaker 3: Okay, yah, something like that.
- 1:02:26Speaker 1: Uh, we got a couple more games left, guys, so
- 1:02:29Speaker 1: let's speed run through these. I think it cans get
- 1:02:31Speaker 1: the Jaguars and the Saints because nobody cares about that game.
- 1:02:35Speaker 3: Did what's happen for the for the starters at prospects?
- 1:02:38Speaker 3: Did much happen?
- 1:02:40Speaker 1: Apparently that Wilson like Wilson with and again that that
- 1:02:47Speaker 1: could either be good or that can be bad.
- 1:02:50Speaker 2: Was he like, well, eleven for sixteen, Oh not bad?
- 1:02:57Speaker 3: I can get at the backup spot.
- 1:02:59Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, I mean again, I don't really know
- 1:03:03Speaker 1: much about this game. I mean Carter Bradley ten of
- 1:03:07Speaker 1: seventeen one oh five. Uh, Joey Aguilar, was there a
- 1:03:13Speaker 1: fake punt in this game or something? Because it shows
- 1:03:18Speaker 1: here that Joey Aguilar had one pass and it was
- 1:03:23Speaker 1: for forty three, y'alls.
- 1:03:28Speaker 3: He got to tell us that some of some of
- 1:03:30Speaker 3: our research slipped through.
- 1:03:31Speaker 2: Fortunately, let's let's take a look. I'm doing it right now.
- 1:03:35Speaker 2: It says that Joey Agalar is AQB. But let's see
- 1:03:40Speaker 2: said one completion. Yeah, it might have been.
- 1:03:46Speaker 1: All right?
- 1:03:47Speaker 3: All right?
- 1:03:48Speaker 1: Well, again preseason. Who cares because it's New Orleans. We
- 1:03:52Speaker 1: don't care about that.
- 1:03:53Speaker 3: What do you make their favorite to win the division?
- 1:03:56Speaker 1: Is that even worthwhile?
- 1:03:59Speaker 2: Something worthwhile flight the past four or five years?
- 1:04:03Speaker 1: Yeah? Not now now, if you'll excuse me, uh Nova,
- 1:04:06Speaker 1: I'm going to twist this uh thing that's on my
- 1:04:10Speaker 1: desk right now out damn it. I got shocked. Oh well,
- 1:04:15Speaker 1: I better go on the Niners injury report.
- 1:04:18Speaker 3: Yeah. The last day we got it before we get
- 1:04:20Speaker 3: to ours is a Titans forty nine ers and the
- 1:04:22Speaker 3: return of Robert Sala to the head coaching position. Yeah.
- 1:04:28Speaker 1: And in all fairness, is it also too soon to
- 1:04:33Speaker 1: talk about a regression for cam Ward?
- 1:04:35Speaker 3: Oh yeah, I've been hearing about that one. I know.
- 1:04:37Speaker 3: I'm like, God, I don't think there's much of it there.
- 1:04:39Speaker 2: There's only so far that you can regress from the
- 1:04:41Speaker 2: bottom of the ladder already.
- 1:04:46Speaker 3: I mean, I've been hearing some stuff from the Titans
- 1:04:48Speaker 3: that like Sola's coaching has been like good, but I
- 1:04:51Speaker 3: also heard that they've been bad. But also I have here,
- 1:04:55Speaker 3: if I could scroll down quick enough, something happened to
- 1:04:58Speaker 3: the Titans side a couple of injuries sea than anyone
- 1:05:03Speaker 3: that that one if I could go, yeah, go on,
- 1:05:07Speaker 3: I'm gonna I'm getting into things right now. Where are
- 1:05:09Speaker 3: you for sure you liked it on Twitter?
- 1:05:12Speaker 2: Hold on just one second, hold that thought just a second. Yeah,
- 1:05:17Speaker 2: so why so while you do that, just the fun
- 1:05:19Speaker 2: little breaking news tidbit that just happened about a half
- 1:05:21Speaker 2: hour ago.
- 1:05:23Speaker 1: Hold hold on, hold on, let's get.
- 1:05:26Speaker 2: The phenomenal, says von Miller. Just signed a one year
- 1:05:37Speaker 2: deal with the Dallas Calgary Cowboys.
- 1:05:42Speaker 3: Why is he still here?
- 1:05:44Speaker 2: I thought he was so much retired.
- 1:05:47Speaker 1: Why the cow Girls like you could have come to Atlanta.
- 1:05:54Speaker 2: We have the waing, We don't have much of anything.
- 1:05:59Speaker 3: Apparently it's because the Texas A and denb re union.
- 1:06:01Speaker 3: He doesn't returned to the state.
- 1:06:03Speaker 2: Well, he's that's his home. Texas is his home. I
- 1:06:07Speaker 2: think he's probably on his way on his way to retirement.
- 1:06:10Speaker 2: But he's not going to help that Dallas cow Girls defense.
- 1:06:13Speaker 1: I mean, yeah, he he, he probably isn't. But I
- 1:06:21Speaker 1: have the post right here from a Disease Sports Nashville,
- 1:06:25Speaker 1: Robert Salad says Jaron Connac and Jalen Harrold are both
- 1:06:30Speaker 1: out for the season. Yeah, Carol, tour his acl Kannack
- 1:06:35Speaker 1: with a pack.
- 1:06:36Speaker 3: Geez, I know we were double with injuries.
- 1:06:44Speaker 1: Nump injuries. Just keep bond coming and keep.
- 1:06:47Speaker 3: Bond at the very least association didn't Clay forty nine
- 1:06:50Speaker 3: ers this time.
- 1:06:53Speaker 1: I mean, he's got us there, Brandon, he's got you there.
- 1:06:56Speaker 2: Yeah it's valid.
- 1:06:58Speaker 1: Uh but you know, but you know what else is
- 1:07:01Speaker 1: apparently Baltimore is the better bird in the middle northeastern
- 1:07:08Speaker 1: area of the country.
- 1:07:10Speaker 3: I really want to talk about this. He's so bad.
- 1:07:12Speaker 3: This was I could do not almost perfection, Like we
- 1:07:16Speaker 3: all will shut out the Eagles, like that area end
- 1:07:19Speaker 3: of the fourth quarter where the Eagles got that back
- 1:07:21Speaker 3: corn ends on touchdown. First impressions offense in jesse Minter fantastic.
- 1:07:27Speaker 3: I mean, obviously no Omar Jackson tailand Huntley looked pretty okay.
- 1:07:31Speaker 3: Jacoby Lane, Holy what a great pick receiver usc he
- 1:07:36Speaker 3: had a touchdown. But also Mac dy Oh get the
- 1:07:41Speaker 3: names real quick. There's some stats swell from jesse Minter's time.
- 1:07:44Speaker 3: So so here's just a stat from the flock rundown
- 1:07:48Speaker 3: on Twitter. Really impressed the coachy. Save you for jesse
- 1:07:51Speaker 3: Minster and his staff. Time for possession for the Ravens
- 1:07:54Speaker 3: forty one minutes, seventeen seconds to the Eagles eighteen forty three.
- 1:07:59Speaker 3: Keep it going total yards four forty to one fifty
- 1:08:03Speaker 3: nine Eagles on third down zero for nine first downs,
- 1:08:09Speaker 3: thirty one for the Ravens six forty Eagles. This is like,
- 1:08:17Speaker 3: this is what we want to see out of the
- 1:08:18Speaker 3: Ravens as well. He's just like, this is a defense
- 1:08:21Speaker 3: that looks to be like really good once we get
- 1:08:23Speaker 3: the starters, say like Mat Ubique and Trey hendrickson the stock.
- 1:08:27Speaker 3: I mean there's also dis from Cordell Woodland as well
- 1:08:29Speaker 3: on Twitter Ravens stock phone tonight. I mean, Vega Iolane
- 1:08:36Speaker 3: already a massive upgrade over Daniel Pololele. He actually can block. However,
- 1:08:44Speaker 3: this was almost perfection because uh, Tyler Luke promissed a
- 1:08:47Speaker 3: forty nine yard field goal, so one for two on
- 1:08:49Speaker 3: field goals, he made all those extra points. I'm still worried,
- 1:08:53Speaker 3: but other than that, it was near perfection for Baltimore.
- 1:08:59Speaker 2: I'm just glad that Baltimore if finally grew a setup
- 1:09:02Speaker 2: balls and moved on from Harball. They've been needing to
- 1:09:06Speaker 2: do that for so long.
- 1:09:09Speaker 3: That's what happens with Mark Jackson states, your job.
- 1:09:14Speaker 2: God them money.
- 1:09:16Speaker 3: Yeah, but as I said Jesse Binzer, this is definitely
- 1:09:18Speaker 3: an overreaction for me. But like, if this is the
- 1:09:20Speaker 3: defense we're getting, good luck to anyone facing the Ravens.
- 1:09:24Speaker 1: Would you put it on on par with a two
- 1:09:27Speaker 1: thousand Ravens that probably?
- 1:09:29Speaker 2: No, absolutely not no.
- 1:09:31Speaker 1: I think that's no, no, no, no, okay, at least
- 1:09:35Speaker 1: Nova ain't smoking a really strong brand of hope.
- 1:09:40Speaker 3: Oh, like every procos Man has.
- 1:09:43Speaker 2: That's gonna take.
- 1:09:45Speaker 1: Well, we'll see though in Denver, though it's legal, this
- 1:09:49Speaker 1: is violent.
- 1:09:50Speaker 2: That's why there's also an increase of Papa John's there.
- 1:09:52Speaker 2: But I digress.
- 1:09:53Speaker 3: Yeah, basically a lot of Eagles fans weren't happy about
- 1:09:56Speaker 3: the performance. You know, obviously the Ravens played fantastic. Pretty
- 1:10:00Speaker 3: much everything went their way and that's pretty much why
- 1:10:04Speaker 3: he got like breaking down for the Ravens that you know,
- 1:10:06Speaker 3: everretty good. The only negative really was tire loop. But
- 1:10:10Speaker 3: we have what were we gonna go for? And Brandon congratulations,
- 1:10:13Speaker 3: we have a tie oh boy on tie.
- 1:10:18Speaker 2: Oh boy, tie and the preseason to Anthony Richardson and
- 1:10:23Speaker 2: the Colts. So, first of all, how the hell do
- 1:10:26Speaker 2: you get out dueled by fucking Tommy DeVito, Like.
- 1:10:33Speaker 1: Gentlemen before before Brandon goes off, I'm just gonna give
- 1:10:36Speaker 1: you a fair warning, Nova, this is gonna be our
- 1:10:38Speaker 1: comedy for tonight.
- 1:10:40Speaker 2: It's great again.
- 1:10:41Speaker 3: It's all because there's no overtimes in pre seasons, which
- 1:10:43Speaker 3: makes sense.
- 1:10:44Speaker 2: Yeah, no over times with pre season Like overall, the
- 1:10:48Speaker 2: Pat's defense looked fairly okay up until you know, the
- 1:10:54Speaker 2: end of the fourth quarter. Uh, until we decided to
- 1:10:57Speaker 2: save the game by punching out a ball and in
- 1:10:59Speaker 2: the goal line and just recovering it and saying in
- 1:11:01Speaker 2: like aha, a tie, but getting out dueled by Tommy DeVito,
- 1:11:06Speaker 2: who spent a very large amount of time on the
- 1:11:10Speaker 2: roster with the New York Giants as a legend, by
- 1:11:13Speaker 2: the way, as a legend, by the way, I will
- 1:11:15Speaker 2: give him. I will get that one props all day long. Uh,
- 1:11:18Speaker 2: Tommy to do to actually look pretty okay. So I'm
- 1:11:20Speaker 2: pretty sure he's I'm pretty sure if he keeps us
- 1:11:22Speaker 2: up all preseason, he'll he'll at least be a steady
- 1:11:24Speaker 2: QB two for us, even though I think there's so
- 1:11:27Speaker 2: many better options out there. There's so many better options
- 1:11:30Speaker 2: out there, Jim Miller, like Jim Miller, Jamichael Hasty little
- 1:11:34Speaker 2: like Jim Michael Hasty, Jamichael Hasey, in my opinion, is
- 1:11:37Speaker 2: kind of mid. But it's really not much to say,
- 1:11:43Speaker 2: a little white, typical New England football, you know, spreading
- 1:11:45Speaker 2: the ball around. You know, there were there were not
- 1:11:48Speaker 2: a lot of you know, consistent incompletions between players. There
- 1:11:51Speaker 2: was only you know, Divida went thirteen for twenty two,
- 1:11:54Speaker 2: Baron Morton went seven for thirteen. Mike obviously not the greatest,
- 1:11:58Speaker 2: but again, preseason football, it's it just looked like typical
- 1:12:04Speaker 2: Patriots football. We had a lot of good We had
- 1:12:07Speaker 2: a lot of good defenses try to or a lot
- 1:12:09Speaker 2: of good defensive players make their way to the QB.
- 1:12:12Speaker 2: So that was kind of a bright shining spot. If
- 1:12:14Speaker 2: only they would just kind of quit choking in the
- 1:12:17Speaker 2: moments that matters and set the edge better, I think
- 1:12:19Speaker 2: will be okay, uh.
- 1:12:23Speaker 1: No, you take you take after that, because that was
- 1:12:26Speaker 1: some good talk from Brandon.
- 1:12:29Speaker 3: Yeah, it really is a much more to say positively
- 1:12:31Speaker 3: about either team. Although I really got to hop off
- 1:12:34Speaker 3: the Anthony richis centering that what happened, like I've been
- 1:12:36Speaker 3: hearing he's been missing targets, he had white open froze.
- 1:12:38Speaker 3: He's been pretty bad into decision making, and uh, I
- 1:12:41Speaker 3: think he looks checked out in Indianapolis.
- 1:12:44Speaker 2: Speaking of being checked out, our kicker is also going
- 1:12:47Speaker 2: to be the one that's checking out too, if he
- 1:12:48Speaker 2: hasn't been. I'm surprised he has not been already, because
- 1:12:51Speaker 2: I understand this is preseason football and we're trying our
- 1:12:55Speaker 2: best to solidify or roster, and we think that we
- 1:12:57Speaker 2: have a really good kicker. Well, whenever you make your
- 1:13:00Speaker 2: only XP attempt and then you miss three fucking field goals,
- 1:13:05Speaker 2: I've got a little bit of a problem with you.
- 1:13:07Speaker 3: Oh so it's not just Tyler.
- 1:13:10Speaker 2: Now, I was like, just Tyler, No, So it's it's
- 1:13:12Speaker 2: just Andy. Andy wanted me too, like.
- 1:13:16Speaker 1: And I remember, I remember Patriot fans were all hype
- 1:13:19Speaker 1: about him last year. Remember that Nova. They were like,
- 1:13:22Speaker 1: oh my god, we've got the kicker.
- 1:13:24Speaker 2: Yea.
- 1:13:24Speaker 3: I was not about the game in Denver.
- 1:13:28Speaker 2: I was not hype about this kid at all, like,
- 1:13:31Speaker 2: and this just kind of helped proves it. I mean,
- 1:13:34Speaker 2: we missed, you know, I mean, granted to be fair,
- 1:13:38Speaker 2: we missed. One of the field goals was from forty
- 1:13:40Speaker 2: to forty nine nine times out of ten. That should
- 1:13:42Speaker 2: be a no brainer for most NFL kickers. And then
- 1:13:45Speaker 2: we went one for three from fifty plus fifty plus. Eh,
- 1:13:51Speaker 2: we're not quite justin Tucker's status because despite everything, man,
- 1:13:56Speaker 2: it's probably like I drafted that man in every fantasy
- 1:13:58Speaker 2: league that I could that I could draft him in
- 1:14:00Speaker 2: because that man put me up points like crazy, but
- 1:14:04Speaker 2: still missing three field goals is just kind of unacceptable.
- 1:14:09Speaker 2: We even need to find a backup kicker to kind
- 1:14:11Speaker 2: of help him out and battle for the position, or
- 1:14:13Speaker 2: just find someone else entirely.
- 1:14:15Speaker 3: See, I can say, says higher loop right now, I
- 1:14:17Speaker 3: literally just say the same thing.
- 1:14:20Speaker 1: And now you guys know what Atlanta was going through
- 1:14:22Speaker 1: last year when we had young Way and that we
- 1:14:25Speaker 1: had John Parker Romo and then we had.
- 1:14:30Speaker 3: Uh I neither remind you all that Daniel Carlson is
- 1:14:34Speaker 3: still a free agent.
- 1:14:41Speaker 1: Well, I mean Atlanta's got.
- 1:14:42Speaker 3: Nick Folk now, So dude, I remember when Carlson that's
- 1:14:46Speaker 3: still not with the Raiders, and uh he is, so
- 1:14:50Speaker 3: I remember he was so good for as long as
- 1:14:51Speaker 3: he was with the Raiders.
- 1:14:54Speaker 2: Nick Nick Folk is not the flex you think he was.
- 1:14:57Speaker 2: My guy, that's not the fuck you think he is.
- 1:15:00Speaker 1: Oh no, I'm I'm not taking it as a flex
- 1:15:04Speaker 1: by by any stretch of the imagination. But given the
- 1:15:09Speaker 1: crux of kickers right now, because you really don't know
- 1:15:14Speaker 1: if you're going to have a good one or not,
- 1:15:17Speaker 1: I mean.
- 1:15:18Speaker 2: You're better off signing Brandon, Brandon mcmanuster, Graham Gano at this.
- 1:15:22Speaker 3: Point, or Matt Prater he's still a free agent.
- 1:15:26Speaker 2: Look, Matt Prater is ancient. I stand by what I said.
- 1:15:32Speaker 1: I mean, in all fantas nova. You can make the
- 1:15:36Speaker 1: same argument about Nick Folk that he is a relic
- 1:15:40Speaker 1: right now in terms of I.
- 1:15:41Speaker 3: Didn't say that, Brandon said that. Oh yeah, I said that.
- 1:15:46Speaker 1: Yeah, no, no, Brandon said that. But like in the
- 1:15:48Speaker 1: in the context of everything.
- 1:15:51Speaker 3: But I think if there's any a kicker that needs
- 1:15:53Speaker 3: to be like checked out for like these practice classes,
- 1:15:56Speaker 3: I think I think it's Daniel Carlson.
- 1:15:59Speaker 2: He's the youngest kicker left that's a free agent.
- 1:16:03Speaker 3: Yeah, I could.
- 1:16:04Speaker 1: I could definitely see a team taking a flyer on Carlson,
- 1:16:10Speaker 1: maybe in the middle.
- 1:16:11Speaker 2: Years of experience. But at the same time, he did
- 1:16:13Speaker 2: spend the last season with the Raiders, so he didn't
- 1:16:16Speaker 2: really have a lot of success because didn't really give
- 1:16:18Speaker 2: him a lot of opportunity.
- 1:16:20Speaker 3: But whenever he has that opportunities, he's struck gold every time.
- 1:16:24Speaker 1: Yeah, I agree, Yeah, that that is true. And before
- 1:16:29Speaker 1: we get into some miscellaneous notes, before we get into
- 1:16:36Speaker 1: our big final segment where we ruffle the feathers of
- 1:16:40Speaker 1: every fan base out there in the NFL, I just
- 1:16:44Speaker 1: want to throw out that I'm looking at Week two's matchups,
- 1:16:50Speaker 1: and gentlemen, I want you to give me a range
- 1:16:55Speaker 1: for all sixteen games. Give me a range. What is
- 1:16:59Speaker 1: the lowest available ticket price and what is the most
- 1:17:05Speaker 1: expensive lowest available ticket price?
- 1:17:09Speaker 2: Are we talking about for preseason and regular season?
- 1:17:11Speaker 1: For preseason? So for for this upcoming week of preseason games,
- 1:17:16Speaker 1: which game has the lowest get in price and which
- 1:17:21Speaker 1: one has the highest get in price?
- 1:17:25Speaker 2: Let's see go go Google search.
- 1:17:30Speaker 3: I think the lowest might be the Browns.
- 1:17:34Speaker 1: Okay, so Nova locks in the Browns and Bills for
- 1:17:42Speaker 1: the lowest for the lowest.
- 1:17:45Speaker 2: For the lowest, I'm going with Chargers, Texans.
- 1:17:49Speaker 4: You really hate no wait huh, Chargers wait in the
- 1:17:57Speaker 4: hold on the Chargers this week?
- 1:18:00Speaker 1: No, that al happened the forty forty nine ers played
- 1:18:04Speaker 1: the Charges this week.
- 1:18:05Speaker 3: I was gonna say, you really need to hate DOLFI
- 1:18:07Speaker 3: does pretty high in prices, and times.
- 1:18:10Speaker 2: I thought about it.
- 1:18:12Speaker 3: Maybe I'm just a Niners hater. I mean, I don't know,
- 1:18:14Speaker 3: you really have station. Maybe we should edule electrocuted.
- 1:18:19Speaker 2: Already?
- 1:18:22Speaker 1: Should I lock you in for the Niners? Then charges Niners?
- 1:18:28Speaker 2: Brandon, hold on, let me take another lot. Let me
- 1:18:31Speaker 2: take another lot the way you want my high?
- 1:18:34Speaker 3: If you want my high, I think it's gonna be
- 1:18:37Speaker 3: Saints Rams.
- 1:18:39Speaker 1: Nova goes Saints Rams as the highest get in price.
- 1:18:45Speaker 2: So I think, looking at everything here, I would have
- 1:18:49Speaker 2: to say I think a very low low get in
- 1:18:53Speaker 2: price looking at the week two matchups would actually be
- 1:18:57Speaker 2: New York at Miami.
- 1:19:00Speaker 3: Oh y, that's up there too.
- 1:19:01Speaker 1: Yeah, Okay, I think a.
- 1:19:04Speaker 2: High get in price could possibly possibly be something along
- 1:19:11Speaker 2: the lines of Baltimore, Minnesota or Kansas City Tampa Bay.
- 1:19:16Speaker 3: Okay, but which one are you're picking?
- 1:19:18Speaker 2: Most two?
- 1:19:18Speaker 1: Kansas City, Tampa Bay CAC and Tampa Bay is for
- 1:19:24Speaker 1: the highest for Brandon. Okay. So the lowest get in
- 1:19:32Speaker 1: price for Week two of the NFL preseason is seven
- 1:19:38Speaker 1: dollars for the get in price seven dollars.
- 1:19:43Speaker 2: Falcons, Please, it's the Falcons.
- 1:19:46Speaker 1: If only you would have picked them, you would have
- 1:19:48Speaker 1: been right. Oh my phenomenal against the Indianapolis Colts. Tickets
- 1:19:55Speaker 1: as low as seven dollars for Lucas Oil Stadium. Saturday
- 1:19:59Speaker 1: August twenty secon Can at one o'clock. Wow, the most
- 1:20:03Speaker 1: expensive get and actually right right ahead of them in
- 1:20:09Speaker 1: terms of get in price being cheap. Sunday, August twenty third,
- 1:20:13Speaker 1: eight o'clock Seahawks at Titans nine dollars is get in?
- 1:20:18Speaker 3: I guess I hope it look some dings H.
- 1:20:20Speaker 2: Nashville's not too far the druf H. It is for me?
- 1:20:25Speaker 1: I mean it kind of is for me. I mean
- 1:20:27Speaker 1: I've already driven six hours to Atlanta, nine hours to
- 1:20:29Speaker 1: New Orleans, and nine hours to Charlotte. What's I don't know,
- 1:20:32Speaker 1: eleven to Nashville, something like that. But the most expensive
- 1:20:37Speaker 1: get in price for Week two of the NFL preseason
- 1:20:41Speaker 1: Nova picks Saints and Rams, Brandon picks Casey and Tampa
- 1:20:45Speaker 1: and gentlemen, the answer is Grabay Packers at Detroit at
- 1:20:51Speaker 1: Denver Broncos Tickets as low as fifty one dollars.
- 1:20:56Speaker 3: The whole PM is real.
- 1:21:00Speaker 1: They had the hopeium is real and this that'll be
- 1:21:04Speaker 1: a fun segment. I can't wait to do it next
- 1:21:06Speaker 1: week too, because oh that one's gonna be even more
- 1:21:09Speaker 1: fun with the last preseason game.
- 1:21:13Speaker 3: Oh, which is what.
- 1:21:16Speaker 1: Well, I mean, we'll cross that bridge on the time
- 1:21:18Speaker 1: for the week two podcasts, which will come out next
- 1:21:21Speaker 1: week where you guys can actually get our podcast on
- 1:21:25Speaker 1: every single platform. You guys can hear it on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Amazon,
- 1:21:30Speaker 1: wherever you get your podcast from. The Roughling the Feathers
- 1:21:33Speaker 1: podcast is here to give you, guys the real, best
- 1:21:38Speaker 1: and honest audio for your NFL podcast consumption. And we
- 1:21:44Speaker 1: may piss you off while we're at it, but do
- 1:21:45Speaker 1: we care.
- 1:21:46Speaker 2: No, no one, damn it. Now.
- 1:21:51Speaker 1: If we did, we would we would actually be welcome
- 1:21:55Speaker 1: in the city of Philadelphia.
- 1:21:57Speaker 3: Who therey hating because Baltimore is rote them.
- 1:22:02Speaker 1: Yeah alright, So this will be a quick rundown because
- 1:22:08Speaker 1: there really hasn't been a lot of contract information coming out, guys.
- 1:22:12Speaker 1: I mean, we have all Keanu Benton, defensive tackle from
- 1:22:16Speaker 1: the Steelers four years, seventy two million dollar contract extension
- 1:22:20Speaker 1: will make Bend the highest paid defensive lineman in Steelers history,
- 1:22:25Speaker 1: which is honestly pretty good, pretty deserved for him.
- 1:22:29Speaker 3: Yeah, I agree, And this also says off if it
- 1:22:32Speaker 3: means it's one of the highest defensive tackle contracts and
- 1:22:34Speaker 3: Steelers history, because you know how the Steelers run things,
- 1:22:38Speaker 3: you know, they don't really overpay players, and TJ. Watt
- 1:22:41Speaker 3: was the first person to break that curse, and then
- 1:22:42Speaker 3: they paid DK Metcalf and a I gotta say about
- 1:22:46Speaker 3: that contracts. First of all, it is deserve and second
- 1:22:48Speaker 3: of all, is this finally meaning that the Steelers are
- 1:22:51Speaker 3: finally going to embrace the new era and finally leaf
- 1:22:54Speaker 3: the old habits behind.
- 1:22:56Speaker 2: Absolutely not it's the Steelers.
- 1:22:57Speaker 1: Probably probably not. I mean, the Steelers in the Bengals
- 1:23:00Speaker 1: are the two stingiest teams in the NFL. I just
- 1:23:03Speaker 1: don't know which one is stingy or them or my brother.
- 1:23:09Speaker 3: Man.
- 1:23:10Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean that.
- 1:23:13Speaker 3: I just haven't nothing to report. As well. Aaron Donald
- 1:23:16Speaker 3: had another work out with the Rams.
- 1:23:18Speaker 1: Oh my god, can we just end the experiment already?
- 1:23:23Speaker 1: Just give him the damn contract.
- 1:23:27Speaker 3: He's trying to see he can still perform with this level,
- 1:23:29Speaker 3: you know, if he can perform at his level. You know,
- 1:23:32Speaker 3: during that Sep. Fifty six run with Miles Garrett. That's
- 1:23:35Speaker 3: how I think he'll co commit.
- 1:23:39Speaker 1: Well, I mean again, just end this experiment, give him
- 1:23:43Speaker 1: the one year contract. He'll play a couple of games.
- 1:23:47Speaker 1: He'll still be an animal defense. Our offensive so will
- 1:23:51Speaker 1: be scrambling to protect against him. That will allow Miles
- 1:23:55Speaker 1: Garrett some opportunities and other players on the RAM and
- 1:24:00Speaker 1: all this food blah. All I'm missing now is a
- 1:24:05Speaker 1: brick being thrown on my head because I just said
- 1:24:07Speaker 1: who blah.
- 1:24:08Speaker 3: Yeah, that's my news. That's my news for report from
- 1:24:10Speaker 3: the Rams. Uh.
- 1:24:14Speaker 1: Outside of that, when it comes to UH deals, I mean,
- 1:24:17Speaker 1: Zadarius Smith signed by the Browns. That's actually a really
- 1:24:21Speaker 1: underrated signing. I like that for Cleveland's defense because Zadarius
- 1:24:25Speaker 1: Smith is a really good DM.
- 1:24:29Speaker 3: Yeah, I agree, all he's terrorizing. And I still remember
- 1:24:32Speaker 3: at the moment he was rubened to be with the
- 1:24:33Speaker 3: Ravens that he ended up going to the Packers. I
- 1:24:35Speaker 3: think I decided added a Browns for first bround signing.
- 1:24:38Speaker 3: I don't remember which. I was not happy when I
- 1:24:40Speaker 3: heard that the Zidarius smifting.
- 1:24:46Speaker 2: Yeah he went. He wound up going to Green Bay
- 1:24:48Speaker 2: for three years, and then he went to Minnesota, so
- 1:24:50Speaker 2: he kind of he kind of bounced around the NFC
- 1:24:52Speaker 2: North there for a little bit.
- 1:24:54Speaker 1: And then he played for the Eagles for five games
- 1:24:56Speaker 1: and then he retired, and that he's back and now
- 1:25:00Speaker 1: was bey uh?
- 1:25:02Speaker 2: He played He played for Cleveland in Detroit before he
- 1:25:05Speaker 2: went to Philadelphia. Let's be let's be fair.
- 1:25:09Speaker 1: Okay, so a reunion of sorts in Cleveland?
- 1:25:12Speaker 2: Oh yeah, yeah, this is definitely a reunion.
- 1:25:15Speaker 1: Well isn't that? Isn't that sweet for Cleveland.
- 1:25:19Speaker 2: In fifteen season?
- 1:25:20Speaker 1: It's fine, you're gonna give him two and fifteen.
- 1:25:25Speaker 2: I figure i'd be generous. It's fine.
- 1:25:27Speaker 3: That's the person that says gonna go in seventeen.
- 1:25:29Speaker 2: I still think they're gonna go in seventeen. I didn't
- 1:25:33Speaker 2: say it would be like one score games, but they
- 1:25:34Speaker 2: might go in seventeen.
- 1:25:36Speaker 3: I mean, if I lay this that, yeah.
- 1:25:39Speaker 1: Uh, and then this is our last good contract that
- 1:25:44Speaker 1: got extended, then we're gonna get into a quick, little
- 1:25:47Speaker 1: serious topic and then I think we'll ruffle the feathers
- 1:25:50Speaker 1: and get out of here for today. And that is
- 1:25:53Speaker 1: Devin Witherspoon signing a four year, one hundred and thirty
- 1:25:58Speaker 1: two million dollar extension one hundred and one million guaranteed
- 1:26:03Speaker 1: average value of thirty three million per year. I think
- 1:26:07Speaker 1: I speak for the three of us when I say
- 1:26:10Speaker 1: Devin Witherspoon is more than deserving of thirty three million
- 1:26:15Speaker 1: a year because he is a really freaking good quarterback,
- 1:26:18Speaker 1: our cornerback.
- 1:26:21Speaker 3: I mean, one of your best comparisons sports to like
- 1:26:23Speaker 3: the Richard Sherman era. There you go, Devin Winterspoon definitely
- 1:26:27Speaker 3: one hundred percent deserving contract. And another reason why that
- 1:26:30Speaker 3: dark side defense for the Seahawks and for coach Mike
- 1:26:32Speaker 3: McDonald wand him that Super Bowl.
- 1:26:35Speaker 1: And uh, I'm gonna rufle some feathers right now real quick, noble,
- 1:26:38Speaker 1: before we get into that segment, I say.
- 1:26:40Speaker 2: Think about even I don't even don't even need sentence,
- 1:26:47Speaker 2: finish that sentence, because he is not better than Christian Gonzales.
- 1:26:53Speaker 2: Don't even.
- 1:26:59Speaker 1: Well, well, at least you knew where I was going
- 1:27:01Speaker 1: with that. Doesn't even know about.
- 1:27:04Speaker 3: I was gonna ask for contexts. I guess I guess
- 1:27:06Speaker 3: I might as well ask this question to Brandon. At
- 1:27:08Speaker 3: this point, It's like, why do you think Christian Gonzales
- 1:27:10Speaker 3: is better than Devin Winterspoon.
- 1:27:13Speaker 2: Let's see, he I just now, honestly, I just think
- 1:27:21Speaker 2: Christian Gonzalez is a better lockdown cornerback in general, whereas
- 1:27:25Speaker 2: Devon Witherspoon tends to be higher graded on the run
- 1:27:29Speaker 2: past rush place. Christian Gonzalez has a lot of individual
- 1:27:33Speaker 2: IQs for like solo tackles and outside heavy cornerback snaps.
- 1:27:38Speaker 2: He's He's just a better Swiss Army knife in terms of,
- 1:27:42Speaker 2: you know, just all around coverage. I think biasedly better
- 1:27:45Speaker 2: than Witherspoon is.
- 1:27:52Speaker 1: I mean, I look, I'll admit that I like what
- 1:27:55Speaker 1: Christian Zalez has brought to the table for the New
- 1:27:58Speaker 1: England Patriots. I also like the Drake London made him
- 1:28:00Speaker 1: as bitch last year.
- 1:28:03Speaker 2: Well, we can debate that one until to a brick
- 1:28:06Speaker 2: wall if you want to.
- 1:28:08Speaker 1: I mean, I think Drake London made him as bitch
- 1:28:12Speaker 1: that game with that nice double move where Christian Gonzalez
- 1:28:15Speaker 1: had to get a legal contact and then got head
- 1:28:17Speaker 1: trauma from Drake London because of that. So I definitely
- 1:28:23Speaker 1: have some some thoughts on on that. But at the
- 1:28:26Speaker 1: same time, Brandon, if I remember correctly, you said it
- 1:28:29Speaker 1: about Christian Zales and Devin Witherspoon. What do they have
- 1:28:32Speaker 1: in common with each other?
- 1:28:34Speaker 2: They were both drafted in a twenty twenty three first.
- 1:28:36Speaker 1: Round class, and there's something else with them INFI America.
- 1:28:40Speaker 1: I think it's who their agent is, right.
- 1:28:44Speaker 2: Yep, they both have the exact same agent negotiating their contracts.
- 1:28:48Speaker 1: I would not be surprised NOVA if I see within
- 1:28:51Speaker 1: the next couple of weeks Christian Zales thirty four million
- 1:28:55Speaker 1: dollars a year as the highest paid cornerback, because cornerbacks,
- 1:29:00Speaker 1: like receivers, are divas and they want to break the bank.
- 1:29:05Speaker 3: I'm actually surprised we didn't get that news today at
- 1:29:08Speaker 3: the same recording because we day. But I guess not.
- 1:29:12Speaker 2: No, Gonzales wants his contract to be meaningful, not in
- 1:29:17Speaker 2: terms of money, but he wants to make He wants
- 1:29:19Speaker 2: his contract to feel like that he has some value
- 1:29:23Speaker 2: to the New England franchise, like in terms of like
- 1:29:26Speaker 2: longevity and you know, his position and what he brings
- 1:29:29Speaker 2: to the team, as well as you know, being paid
- 1:29:32Speaker 2: what he believes he's worth, just whatever that may entail
- 1:29:37Speaker 2: for him. You know, on a personal level, he just
- 1:29:39Speaker 2: wants he wants his contract to mean something to New England.
- 1:29:45Speaker 1: Honestly, I I respect that, and again all I can
- 1:29:51Speaker 1: say is I mean, once we get that news, I mean, yes,
- 1:29:56Speaker 1: it'll be well deserved for Christian Gonzales. But for right
- 1:29:59Speaker 1: now can actualations to Devin Witherspoon. But now we had
- 1:30:03Speaker 1: to get a little bit serious on this one, guys,
- 1:30:06Speaker 1: because we knew this was in the pipeline for months now,
- 1:30:12Speaker 1: as most of us remember, and if you haven't remembered this,
- 1:30:18Speaker 1: I will enlighten you. Back in February, Atlanta Falcons defensive
- 1:30:23Speaker 1: end James Pierce Junior was arrested for alleged domestic battery
- 1:30:31Speaker 1: and fleeing, eluding, and resisting the Doyle County Police officers
- 1:30:35Speaker 1: to the point where it took half a dozen of
- 1:30:39Speaker 1: them to stop one man. And they now in that
- 1:30:46Speaker 1: they also claimed that James Pierce Junior tried to hit
- 1:30:50Speaker 1: a cop with his car, and in the discovery phase
- 1:30:56Speaker 1: it was actually determined that the cop was lying because
- 1:31:00Speaker 1: he did not make any contact with James Pierce's Junior's
- 1:31:04Speaker 1: car at all. So they were trying to get a
- 1:31:09Speaker 1: player put in jail for a minimum of five years
- 1:31:12Speaker 1: per Florida state statues that if you assault a police officer.
- 1:31:17Speaker 1: It is minimum five years in state prison. So there
- 1:31:23Speaker 1: was that, and based on everything that happened, he is
- 1:31:27Speaker 1: any pre trial intervention program, which I know some people
- 1:31:31Speaker 1: like to talk about where oh, it's a big name player,
- 1:31:35Speaker 1: it's a big athlete. Why is he skirting the system?
- 1:31:39Speaker 1: If this was any other random Joe Schmoe on the street,
- 1:31:43Speaker 1: fullest extent of the law, fifteen years in prison, all
- 1:31:46Speaker 1: this stuff, YadA, YadA. But at the same time, not
- 1:31:51Speaker 1: only is he in this pre trial intervention program, he's
- 1:31:53Speaker 1: subject to random drug tests, He's subject to random anything
- 1:31:59Speaker 1: for a year, and he cannot be within any contact
- 1:32:04Speaker 1: of his now ex girlfriend in Rakia Jackson. By all
- 1:32:09Speaker 1: virtue of that. There were a lot of people that
- 1:32:12Speaker 1: were saying that James Piers Junior should never be allowed
- 1:32:15Speaker 1: in the NFL. Again, I did not sign up for that,
- 1:32:19Speaker 1: but I would be damned if you found a Falcons
- 1:32:23Speaker 1: fan out there that did not agree he was going
- 1:32:27Speaker 1: to be suspended. We all were thinking six games was
- 1:32:31Speaker 1: probably gonna be the minimum because of the Personal Conduct
- 1:32:35Speaker 1: policy for the NFL setting a precedent minimum six games.
- 1:32:40Speaker 1: But in that description it actually says they can increase
- 1:32:45Speaker 1: games if you have aggravating circumstances. And it was revealed
- 1:32:51Speaker 1: on Friday that effective August thirtieth, James Pierce Junior will
- 1:32:56Speaker 1: be suspended from the Atlanta Falcons for eight game games.
- 1:33:00Speaker 1: He will be missing the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Carolina Panthers,
- 1:33:04Speaker 1: the Green Bay Packers, the New Orleans Saints, the Baltimore Ravens,
- 1:33:08Speaker 1: the Chicago Bears, the Electric Substation, and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
- 1:33:15Speaker 3: That's brutal.
- 1:33:18Speaker 2: Stretch to this.
- 1:33:19Speaker 1: He will be eligible to return when the Falcons traveled
- 1:33:23Speaker 1: to Madrid to play the Cincinnati Bengals in the International
- 1:33:30Speaker 1: Series over there. And again, I don't know your guys'
- 1:33:35Speaker 1: thoughts on them. I will get your guys' takes on
- 1:33:37Speaker 1: this whole situation. But eight games, I'm okay with it.
- 1:33:44Speaker 1: And the fact that Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk
- 1:33:47Speaker 1: reported that he's not appealing this decision. He is actually
- 1:33:52Speaker 1: taking the eight games. There's not going to be an appeal.
- 1:33:55Speaker 1: It's not going to be lower to six games, might
- 1:33:57Speaker 1: not be, lower to four games, might not be. This
- 1:34:00Speaker 1: might not skirt away, but the fact that he is
- 1:34:04Speaker 1: taking the eight game suspension on the chin, I am
- 1:34:09Speaker 1: one to believe that he is seeing the light through
- 1:34:14Speaker 1: the trees and the forest and he realizes, oh shit,
- 1:34:19Speaker 1: I really fucked up. And the best way to really
- 1:34:23Speaker 1: start showing that I accept responsibility for my actions is
- 1:34:29Speaker 1: taking the full brunt of the suspension. What do you
- 1:34:32Speaker 1: guys say about that?
- 1:34:33Speaker 3: I actually agree with that, because if you don't have
- 1:34:37Speaker 3: like a reason to appeal, like trying to get back
- 1:34:40Speaker 3: to the field as soon as possible, then yeah, you
- 1:34:42Speaker 3: probably need to like go for your actions. But I guess,
- 1:34:45Speaker 3: like throughout the entire offseason for James Pearce, I think
- 1:34:48Speaker 3: if I had something to do with the potential rehab
- 1:34:50Speaker 3: that he might have gotten proved from the arrest to now,
- 1:34:53Speaker 3: it's just like something it was a change in him.
- 1:34:55Speaker 3: He's like, Oh, it's like I said, like he's he
- 1:34:58Speaker 3: messed up and now he's take the consequences. Yeah, it's
- 1:35:00Speaker 3: gonna suck, but at least he's wary.
- 1:35:05Speaker 1: And Brandon, what do you what's your take on it?
- 1:35:08Speaker 2: I agree with that. At the same time, there's also
- 1:35:12Speaker 2: already there's also all this evidence that's already public, it's
- 1:35:16Speaker 2: already in the courts. Everyone's already seen what they've seen.
- 1:35:20Speaker 2: I mean, if you're going to appeal, you're basically just
- 1:35:22Speaker 2: been like, I don't deserve this punishment for the evidence
- 1:35:25Speaker 2: that everybody knows already exists. So I think that has
- 1:35:29Speaker 2: a lot to do with it too.
- 1:35:31Speaker 1: Yeah, and I know that some people were trying to say, oh,
- 1:35:34Speaker 1: Rashi Rice got six games for reckless driving. I mean, okay,
- 1:35:41Speaker 1: look it's reckless driving, which again is really stupid, but
- 1:35:47Speaker 1: I mean reckless driving is reckless driving. James Pierce Junior
- 1:35:52Speaker 1: rammed a car deliberately with the intent to prevent his
- 1:35:58Speaker 1: ex girlfriend from going to the police. So again there
- 1:36:02Speaker 1: were a lot of aggravating circumstances. Also an aggravating circumstance
- 1:36:08Speaker 1: four days before the arrest actually happened, he was at
- 1:36:12Speaker 1: the NFL Honors being one of the finalists for Defensive
- 1:36:17Speaker 1: Rookie of the Year. So like that that's where that's
- 1:36:24Speaker 1: where it really got out there. But at least, again
- 1:36:30Speaker 1: from my vantage point, I appreciate what he is doing
- 1:36:36Speaker 1: for accepting the punishment and taking it. Yes, not having
- 1:36:40Speaker 1: him on top of not having Jalen Walker, so you're
- 1:36:42Speaker 1: not getting your two first round picks from last year
- 1:36:46Speaker 1: on the field this year, at least half of them
- 1:36:49Speaker 1: for the first half of the season, the other half
- 1:36:51Speaker 1: until next season. But at the same time, when James
- 1:36:56Speaker 1: Pierce Junior returns to Atlanta's defense, I mean, yes, he
- 1:37:01Speaker 1: will have to earn his way back and earn the
- 1:37:05Speaker 1: respect of his teammates. But I do think he is
- 1:37:07Speaker 1: taking a step in the right direction. Yeah, And with
- 1:37:14Speaker 1: that out of the way, let's go to the fun part.
- 1:37:18Speaker 1: We've gotten through the serious, we've gotten through the recaps,
- 1:37:22Speaker 1: we've gotten through the contracts. I think it's time to
- 1:37:27Speaker 1: ruffle some feathers. Gentlemen. Oh boy, the evil laugh nova.
- 1:37:36Speaker 3: What are you talking about. I don't hear one.
- 1:37:41Speaker 1: You don't hear that. To go first, let's go as.
- 1:37:47Speaker 3: Long as he's waiting for a siren the whole time.
- 1:37:50Speaker 1: Oh okay, oh you want all you want a siren.
- 1:37:55Speaker 3: Because like this when we were waiting for your entire time.
- 1:37:59Speaker 1: I don't know, but I'll give the siren for that one.
- 1:38:03Speaker 1: I'll give the siren.
- 1:38:05Speaker 3: Yeah, I'll start this on. I'm not starting to like
- 1:38:08Speaker 3: look at back at some of these divisions. There's actually
- 1:38:11Speaker 3: a real good chance that the Packers and up at
- 1:38:13Speaker 3: last place at the NFC North had like they have
- 1:38:17Speaker 3: a record if it eight nine or worse.
- 1:38:23Speaker 1: Wow, honestly, okay, can you give can you give a
- 1:38:29Speaker 1: little more context outside of because again you're saying the
- 1:38:33Speaker 1: Packers are gonna finish last place. When one of the
- 1:38:36Speaker 1: team says J J. McCarthy on their quarterback roster, if
- 1:38:39Speaker 1: Kyler Murray goes down, what's gonna happen to Minnesota.
- 1:38:44Speaker 3: Then they're gonna be the one the last place because
- 1:38:45Speaker 3: I anticipate the Lions will bounce back Aunt in tons
- 1:38:48Speaker 3: of injuries and hopefully the Terry and Arnold thing is
- 1:38:52Speaker 3: finally behind him and Jared Goff gets back to for him.
- 1:38:54Speaker 3: I mean, yeah, losing Ja David Montgomery is gonna suck,
- 1:38:57Speaker 3: but I do accept the Lions will win at least
- 1:38:59Speaker 3: ten games or at least contend to win the division.
- 1:39:02Speaker 3: I expect the Bears to be in a level as well. Okay,
- 1:39:04Speaker 3: Williams reporting leaf in training cast has improved accuracy, and
- 1:39:08Speaker 3: you know, if better poise the Vikings. I think with
- 1:39:11Speaker 3: Kyler Murray, as you guys said, he will be good
- 1:39:14Speaker 3: as long as he doesn't get injured. That Vikings was
- 1:39:16Speaker 3: very pretty strong, which then leaves the outliers the Packers
- 1:39:19Speaker 3: you know that whole NSC NORF is really good. But like,
- 1:39:22Speaker 3: if Minnesota, Chicago, and Detroit all are in the top tier,
- 1:39:26Speaker 3: what's there to say the Packers don't finish last place.
- 1:39:32Speaker 1: I mean, that's definitely that's definitely better than I would
- 1:39:36Speaker 1: have actually expected.
- 1:39:37Speaker 2: Brandon, Oh, yeah, fair enough, but it's still I don't know.
- 1:39:44Speaker 2: I don't know. I don't think the Packers finished last
- 1:39:46Speaker 2: So I think that's I think that's a pretty hot
- 1:39:48Speaker 2: take there.
- 1:39:50Speaker 3: How do you guys not see it? Like the whole
- 1:39:53Speaker 3: nor is like talented. It's like, I don't know what
- 1:39:55Speaker 3: I see out of the Packers like they had They're
- 1:39:57Speaker 3: gonna miss like a Parsons for a good bart season,
- 1:39:59Speaker 3: like the same thing like the with like the James
- 1:40:00Speaker 3: Piercings like half the season, They're not gonna have Michael Parsons.
- 1:40:03Speaker 3: So I do think the defense is gonna be really
- 1:40:05Speaker 3: exposing to it. Do you think the defense is the
- 1:40:07Speaker 3: weakest of the division.
- 1:40:08Speaker 2: I think Michael Parsons is mid That's not my hot tag,
- 1:40:18Speaker 2: by the.
- 1:40:19Speaker 3: Way, I was gonna say that's okay, But like, if
- 1:40:26Speaker 3: you think about it, Micah Parsons really was masking a
- 1:40:29Speaker 3: lot of the issues of defense, and I think without
- 1:40:30Speaker 3: him for a good chunk of the season, I actually
- 1:40:32Speaker 3: could see the Packers in panic mode early in the season,
- 1:40:35Speaker 3: and I don't think it'll workover from it.
- 1:40:40Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't know how I'm gonna come back from
- 1:40:44Speaker 1: that one with my hot take to ruffle some feathers,
- 1:40:48Speaker 1: but I think I'm gonna go with probably this one,
- 1:40:53Speaker 1: and that's that. I actually think that the Giants will
- 1:41:02Speaker 1: be the number one draft pick next year. I am not,
- 1:41:10Speaker 1: but let's see. Let's see. I'm not going the oh
- 1:41:13Speaker 1: to seventeen route. I'm going with the I don't trust
- 1:41:17Speaker 1: Scataboo right now. I'm not trusting him as a running back.
- 1:41:21Speaker 1: And as long as Malik Neighbors is playing on MetLife
- 1:41:26Speaker 1: stadiums basically cement astro turf or whatever the fuck you
- 1:41:33Speaker 1: want to call it, because it just cost Jamal Adams
- 1:41:36Speaker 1: his season, right, admittedly, I say, as long as Malik
- 1:41:43Speaker 1: Neighbors is in New York, he needs to find a
- 1:41:46Speaker 1: way to get out of New Jersey.
- 1:41:50Speaker 3: Look, the only pert thing you should be trusting for
- 1:41:52Speaker 3: that Giant squad is John Harbaugh. Let's be honest.
- 1:41:55Speaker 1: I'm not even sure I want to trust him exactly.
- 1:41:59Speaker 3: You never try John Harbaugh.
- 1:42:01Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, I mean, the the only other thing
- 1:42:04Speaker 1: I could think of that could ruffle some feathers right
- 1:42:06Speaker 1: now is the fact that, uh, maybe, just maybe, I
- 1:42:15Speaker 1: don't know if I can go. I don't know if
- 1:42:16Speaker 1: I can go this rap.
- 1:42:17Speaker 3: But what's stop you?
- 1:42:22Speaker 1: Yeah, what's stopping me? I'm gonna say that, Uh, the
- 1:42:26Speaker 1: forty nine Ers injury bug is not gonna be a problem,
- 1:42:31Speaker 1: and they're gonna be the best team in the NFC
- 1:42:33Speaker 1: West by a wide margin.
- 1:42:36Speaker 3: I had the talent on that one, Like, really, you're
- 1:42:38Speaker 3: gonna discredit the Rams and the Seahawks, who are arguing
- 1:42:40Speaker 3: with the two best teams in the league.
- 1:42:43Speaker 1: I just won a Super Bowl asking for a friend,
- 1:42:46Speaker 1: I mean, I mean, the Seahawks did win the Super
- 1:42:48Speaker 1: Bowl last year, but they lost the MVP. That they
- 1:42:51Speaker 1: lost the best player on the best team, right.
- 1:42:54Speaker 3: He didn't. They have Sam Darnold still, He's still performing.
- 1:42:57Speaker 2: That's a fucking ever in my wife, Did I ever
- 1:43:02Speaker 2: think I would hear Sam Darnold's best player in the
- 1:43:04Speaker 2: same sentence? I mean him, Yes, I saw him on
- 1:43:10Speaker 2: the Jets where we picked him up like five times
- 1:43:12Speaker 2: in one game.
- 1:43:13Speaker 3: That's not why the Seahawks.
- 1:43:18Speaker 1: Yeah, I think that's why I'm not gonna just hop
- 1:43:22Speaker 1: on the Seahawks for this time. I'm actually gonna say
- 1:43:24Speaker 1: the forty nine Ers are the best team in the
- 1:43:26Speaker 1: NFC West Ride.
- 1:43:27Speaker 3: Now that's something I do not agree with one hundred percent.
- 1:43:33Speaker 2: I mean, time will tell on that one, time will tell.
- 1:43:36Speaker 1: I mean, do you hearing your defense?
- 1:43:38Speaker 3: And Dyers did make the plass the mountain of injuries,
- 1:43:39Speaker 3: they did, but like we all knew they were gonna
- 1:43:42Speaker 3: beat the Eagles.
- 1:43:45Speaker 1: Yeah, that that is true. But I mean, honestly, Nova,
- 1:43:51Speaker 1: I think our segment are like are rough on the feathers.
- 1:43:54Speaker 1: They might have been a little mundane because we were
- 1:43:58Speaker 1: talking about it, but apparently Brandon has ones that are
- 1:44:01Speaker 1: going to challenge the very validity of our sanity.
- 1:44:07Speaker 3: And actually, so I actually have to one of them.
- 1:44:10Speaker 2: We've kind of already briefly discussed like between you know,
- 1:44:13Speaker 2: our our personal you know, messaging chat. So this one's
- 1:44:18Speaker 2: definitely going to be my personal hot take. And that
- 1:44:22Speaker 2: is I fully firmly believe, and I will die on
- 1:44:28Speaker 2: this hill for the rest of my life that Patrick
- 1:44:32Speaker 2: Mahomes three injury and even after his injury. Is an
- 1:44:39Speaker 2: incredibly mid quarterback. I do not think that he will
- 1:44:47Speaker 2: have anywhere near the success that he has had with
- 1:44:51Speaker 2: Kansas City for the rest of his career. And that
- 1:44:54Speaker 2: contract is going to look like a joke.
- 1:45:00Speaker 1: Wow, honestly Nova.
- 1:45:07Speaker 3: Wow.
- 1:45:08Speaker 1: Going after Patrick Mahols and calling him MIDI where was
- 1:45:13Speaker 1: that take?
- 1:45:13Speaker 3: Years ago?
- 1:45:14Speaker 1: A three time Super Bowl champion and being called mid?
- 1:45:19Speaker 3: Mid?
- 1:45:19Speaker 2: Absolutely?
- 1:45:21Speaker 3: And where from.
- 1:45:24Speaker 2: Popularity?
- 1:45:25Speaker 3: I need to find this out as well. He's the
- 1:45:27Speaker 3: first quarterback since Kurt Warner to win the m v
- 1:45:30Speaker 3: P and the Super Bowl MVP in the same season,
- 1:45:33Speaker 3: because normally that was a curse to that until Patrick, who.
- 1:45:36Speaker 2: Was broke it.
- 1:45:38Speaker 1: I had that.
- 1:45:39Speaker 2: That is a Giants soundboard sound that just screams mid
- 1:45:46Speaker 2: while while I'm on while I'm on the topic of
- 1:45:48Speaker 2: really of hot takes and pistons and people off. So
- 1:45:52Speaker 2: this is a hot take that I was asked to
- 1:45:55Speaker 2: put onto the podcast by a friend of mine who
- 1:45:59Speaker 2: is Avonlea, a Carolina Panthers fan. Throw throw that out there.
- 1:46:07Speaker 2: This man is a Panthers fan, so we can engage
- 1:46:09Speaker 2: the sanity of this take for what it's forth, just
- 1:46:11Speaker 2: based on that this man asked me to put that.
- 1:46:16Speaker 2: His take is that the NFC South Okay is going
- 1:46:24Speaker 2: to have a better all around season than the entirety
- 1:46:31Speaker 2: of the NFC East.
- 1:46:33Speaker 3: Oh, I could see that, honestly.
- 1:46:40Speaker 2: I mean, even even with all of the season ending
- 1:46:45Speaker 2: injuries that have happened in the NFC South, they don't
- 1:46:49Speaker 2: have a better season than the NFC East in its entirety,
- 1:46:52Speaker 2: and that is including anything that Philadelphia can make them
- 1:46:56Speaker 2: look good with.
- 1:46:57Speaker 3: Hey, look, that's how a more believable take, because as
- 1:47:00Speaker 3: you know, the Giants don't look good. You actually hot
- 1:47:02Speaker 3: take them gonna go in seventeen and then the Commanders
- 1:47:05Speaker 3: are if he I mean, sure Philadelphia and Dallas are
- 1:47:08Speaker 3: gonna have good years. But like, that's actually not the
- 1:47:10Speaker 3: worst hot take I've heard because like, yeah, sounds terrible,
- 1:47:14Speaker 3: but if you're if you're combining every team's win with
- 1:47:17Speaker 3: every division, yeah, that actually is a believable take. If
- 1:47:21Speaker 3: the NFC South is, you know, still as competitive as
- 1:47:23Speaker 3: it ever is, hobably more wins.
- 1:47:25Speaker 2: But I didn't say anything about the about wins. He
- 1:47:28Speaker 2: just said fit he just had an all around better performance. Oh,
- 1:47:35Speaker 2: on all sides, I.
- 1:47:37Speaker 1: Mean, I mean tennally that can go from anywhere from
- 1:47:41Speaker 1: better overall record to furthest run in the playoffs, so.
- 1:47:48Speaker 3: Which is, by the way, tied because no NFC East,
- 1:47:51Speaker 3: no NFC Houth team made it past the wildcard round.
- 1:47:55Speaker 1: That is true last year, but when you count the
- 1:47:59Speaker 1: fact that Carolina was eight and nine and needed Atlanta
- 1:48:03Speaker 1: to beat New Orleans because they just couldn't beat Tampa
- 1:48:06Speaker 1: Bay and win it at nine and eight, h Honestly,
- 1:48:13Speaker 1: I mean, Brandon, I will say this, your friend. I
- 1:48:15Speaker 1: mean that it's a hot take. But again, when you
- 1:48:20Speaker 1: have three shitty teams in one division and the Eagles,
- 1:48:27Speaker 1: I mean, is it is it really that much of
- 1:48:31Speaker 1: a hot take to say the NFC South is better,
- 1:48:33Speaker 1: even though the NFC South is all pile up, as
- 1:48:37Speaker 1: my dad calls Duncan Donuts Coffee pyackwater.
- 1:48:41Speaker 2: Of first all, that's an endsult because I quite enjoyed that.
- 1:48:45Speaker 1: Hey look, hey, look, Duncan, if you want to sponsor
- 1:48:48Speaker 1: the podcast, go right ahead, give us a sponsor.
- 1:48:51Speaker 2: So we've got we've got the Giants finishing oh and seventeen.
- 1:48:55Speaker 2: We've got the Dallas Cowgirls finishing somewhere under five hundred.
- 1:49:00Speaker 2: We've got the Eagles pretty much being the only good
- 1:49:02Speaker 2: thing out of the NFC East, And we've got the
- 1:49:04Speaker 2: Washington Commanders winning four of their games because they're too
- 1:49:07Speaker 2: offenditive daily, they're too afraid to offend.
- 1:49:14Speaker 1: Really, it's just really gonna be an actual bit ev evidently.
- 1:49:19Speaker 1: I mean, it's working in the n and the NLB,
- 1:49:22Speaker 1: all these teams are going and actually.
- 1:49:27Speaker 2: World over.
- 1:49:29Speaker 1: I mean not not to get political or anything that,
- 1:49:31Speaker 1: but I know, but somebody actually posted I saw it
- 1:49:33Speaker 1: on Twitter. They were like, ah, that remember the Renee
- 1:49:37Speaker 1: Good thing back in most January I think or something
- 1:49:40Speaker 1: like that. They said that she was shot four times
- 1:49:43Speaker 1: because the Ice agents didn't want to shoot her five
- 1:49:45Speaker 1: and order and on our Jada Daniels I was like,
- 1:49:48Speaker 1: what the fuck man?
- 1:49:51Speaker 2: Yeah, that's like that's excessive.
- 1:49:55Speaker 1: That is just going way too fucking far in ways
- 1:50:00Speaker 1: that I don't even support. Like it's one thing if
- 1:50:02Speaker 1: you're a sports team and or a sports fan, like
- 1:50:06Speaker 1: I know the Durham Bulls, mask I said he is
- 1:50:09Speaker 1: now given high fours instead of high five. So you know,
- 1:50:13Speaker 1: when it's fun little things like that, or baseball teams
- 1:50:16Speaker 1: winning four to one because they don't want to score
- 1:50:18Speaker 1: five runs, like okay, fun little tidbits and again, we
- 1:50:24Speaker 1: gotta get Nova a number four jersey. We gotta get
- 1:50:26Speaker 1: him a Stewpuntley jersey.
- 1:50:30Speaker 3: I mean he is he is Chyle Hendley is wearing
- 1:50:32Speaker 3: number five to your defense. Yeah, we got what.
- 1:50:35Speaker 1: We gotta get you a number four.
- 1:50:37Speaker 3: Oh so you want to gonna say Flowers Jersey.
- 1:50:39Speaker 1: Yes, Daniels, just just justin honor Jayden Daniels. Guys. Uh,
- 1:50:49Speaker 1: but but no, I mean it's a fun thing. It'll
- 1:50:52Speaker 1: probably end itself. Uh, I don't know, probably mid season
- 1:50:57Speaker 1: or something like that, unless he throws four interception a.
- 1:51:00Speaker 3: Game or the commander who's ended up winning more than
- 1:51:03Speaker 3: five games or that too. Think they will.
- 1:51:09Speaker 1: I think it's I think it's possible. But we will
- 1:51:12Speaker 1: get into that next week. Ladies and gentlemen, Thank you
