- 0:03Speaker 1: This is a podcast called twenty five whist I was
- 0:07Speaker 1: talking basketball and they don't wearing the whist So yes,
- 0:10Speaker 1: do bad. But what did you expect. It's a podcast
- 0:14Speaker 1: called twenty five Whistles. Brought to you by Draft Kings
- 0:21Speaker 1: Sports Book. Download the Draft Kings app and use the
- 0:24Speaker 1: code Bobby Sports to get on the action. You may
- 0:26Speaker 1: bring the whistle. Oh no, no, the show doesn't count
- 0:30Speaker 1: if we don't whistle. Amateur hour. Okay, Mike has one.
- 0:34Speaker 1: Oh my gosh, I'd had to do it that often
- 0:37Speaker 1: say okay, uh, okay, welcome. We thrown my microphone up
- 0:42Speaker 1: just a little bit. I think that might have blown
- 0:44Speaker 1: my ears and I can't hear me at all, or
- 0:45Speaker 1: I just need a little more mic volume. But welcome again.
- 0:48Speaker 1: Brought to you by Draft King Sports Book. Download the
- 0:50Speaker 1: Draft Kings app and use the code Bobby Sports to
- 0:52Speaker 1: get in on the action. I you know, I forgot
- 0:56Speaker 1: I was wearing this on my head. I can't look.
- 0:58Speaker 1: I need to address if you're watching in right now.
- 1:01Speaker 1: So I have longer hair, very curly hair now and
- 1:04Speaker 1: we're leaving to go to the game a little bit.
- 1:06Speaker 1: So we're gonna fly to Las Vegas. I had to
- 1:07Speaker 1: wash my hair. And wash my hair is a process
- 1:10Speaker 1: and no offense to YouTube. Fine, gentlemen, you don't produce ready.
- 1:14Speaker 1: You don't have long curly hair. As my point, no,
- 1:16Speaker 1: we don't have any hair. I didn't say that, but
- 1:17Speaker 1: you don't have long curly hair, and so to get
- 1:20Speaker 1: it to dry quick, I had I wear my wife's Dude,
- 1:26Speaker 1: I've never how long have I known you? I've known
- 1:29Speaker 1: you for a very long long time. I've never seen
- 1:31Speaker 1: you dry your hair like this. Well, I only have
- 1:34Speaker 1: to when it's long and curly and I'm in a hurry.
- 1:36Speaker 1: I can't use a towel when you had your little
- 1:38Speaker 1: curly How many times did you watch me dry my hair? None? Right,
- 1:40Speaker 1: I can't use a towel because it frizzes up the
- 1:42Speaker 1: hair loses the curl. This is ridiculous. So I have
- 1:46Speaker 1: on what it looks like when the old lady puts
- 1:48Speaker 1: a towel and wraps on her head. It's a very
- 1:50Speaker 1: small one, but the cloth is made of something that
- 1:52Speaker 1: doesn't frizze out your hair. And what's with the purple
- 1:55Speaker 1: suede things, my purple sweatshirt. It was a whole thing. No,
- 1:59Speaker 1: I just in this shirt before a couple of times. Okay,
- 2:01Speaker 1: it's loose too, So I'm gonna go fly, Do you
- 2:04Speaker 1: look like a fortune teller? I shall, I shall crystal
- 2:10Speaker 1: ball the NCB turnment. I really thought that was gonna
- 2:14Speaker 1: be a bit. I'm like Chigan States, you shall beat
- 2:18Speaker 1: Kansas States, Laibama. The little jewel sparkles in the front. Halle,
- 2:26Speaker 1: I shall, but money line for you. So I will
- 2:30Speaker 1: be pulling it off the next few minutes. Okay, And
- 2:32Speaker 1: so that's it. That's what it is. I forgot it
- 2:35Speaker 1: was on and everybody keeps coming to going what's on
- 2:36Speaker 1: your head? But that's what's up. So we are here,
- 2:41Speaker 1: We're gonna do the tittle tattle and then I'm pulling
- 2:43Speaker 1: this off my head. Aaron Torrez coming up a little
- 2:45Speaker 1: bit too. We'll talk college basketball with him. We'll get
- 2:48Speaker 1: into I mean a lot of even OBJ stuff where
- 2:51Speaker 1: now he's you know, reverse course and twenty dollars don't
- 2:54Speaker 1: even want that we aren't talking about I don't know,
- 2:56Speaker 1: don't know. So we have a lot to talk about today.
- 2:58Speaker 1: But let's go over to the tittle tattle time. Hello Kevin,
- 3:08Speaker 1: Hello there, what do you got? Do you think the
- 3:10Speaker 1: hiring of Rick Patino will get Saint John's back to
- 3:13Speaker 1: the promised Land like they once were. It's weird. I
- 3:15Speaker 1: don't remember Saint John's being great. It has to when
- 3:19Speaker 1: was Saint John's good, No, I should say when watch
- 3:22Speaker 1: Saint John's really good. Obviously, it's a basketball school. I
- 3:26Speaker 1: think the eighties they were big, probably early nineties, and
- 3:30Speaker 1: so there's a fan base that's older that still remembers
- 3:34Speaker 1: the good old days. Obviously, but it's gonna be hard
- 3:37Speaker 1: to launch anything that was really good in the eighties
- 3:39Speaker 1: and nineties back to prominence with a single coaching hire. Also,
- 3:42Speaker 1: in the eighties and nineties, you can cheat, and not
- 3:45Speaker 1: everybody cheated. Everybody cheats now it's called niel. It's not
- 3:49Speaker 1: even cheating, but you can cheat at actually what's allowed
- 3:51Speaker 1: as well, meaning you can follow the rules and you
- 3:53Speaker 1: can do in nils and you can also slide in
- 3:55Speaker 1: some extras as well. Um, when you look at Saint
- 3:59Speaker 1: John's and if you might holding it up for me,
- 4:00Speaker 1: Mike in a few minutes, I think, right, Beatino's seventy
- 4:02Speaker 1: years old. He could die any minute. He won't, Yeah,
- 4:08Speaker 1: but he's old. Yeah, he's not thirty five. Years old.
- 4:11Speaker 1: He's not Tobin at fan right, and we'll get to
- 4:15Speaker 1: him later, but you know he's seventeen. He signed a
- 4:19Speaker 1: six year deal. I think the bed is does he
- 4:22Speaker 1: fulfill the six year deal? Not performance related? That's my
- 4:27Speaker 1: biggest question, right, So I like to hire. I think
- 4:30Speaker 1: it's a splash in a college basketball It's about a splash.
- 4:33Speaker 1: It's about getting recruits to even give you the time
- 4:35Speaker 1: of day, and then getting recruits to go, Okay, we've
- 4:38Speaker 1: given you the time of day, what can you do.
- 4:40Speaker 1: Betino's gonna find a way to make sure that these
- 4:42Speaker 1: kids get what they need as far as like Moneys,
- 4:45Speaker 1: kids won't be paid now it's and I all end.
- 4:47Speaker 1: So I do think he will help them in that
- 4:50Speaker 1: TV will cover them a little more. There'll be more
- 4:52Speaker 1: eyeballs on him. He's obviously a good coach. He turned
- 4:55Speaker 1: to Iona into a respectable program, So yes, it'll be good.
- 4:59Speaker 1: But I don't know about minenes from back the day.
- 5:00Speaker 1: I don't even know how prominent they were because before
- 5:02Speaker 1: my day and I'm not even like young anymore. Do
- 5:04Speaker 1: you have the dates on there? Well? I have that.
- 5:07Speaker 1: Saint John's has only made the tournament three times, in
- 5:09Speaker 1: the last twenty years. So there's no prominence there. If
- 5:11Speaker 1: they've only made it three times in the last twenty years,
- 5:13Speaker 1: when were they great again? It looks like they were.
- 5:15Speaker 1: The last they were in the championship in nineteen fifty two.
- 5:19Speaker 1: They were the last time they're in the final four
- 5:22Speaker 1: was nineteen eighty five. Okay, so Bonanza was big, gun
- 5:26Speaker 1: Smoke was just ending. Wow. So I don't know this
- 5:31Speaker 1: team as being a great team. They've always been a
- 5:34Speaker 1: team that used to be great, but I don't remember
- 5:35Speaker 1: them being great. So no, he's going to launch them
- 5:38Speaker 1: back to prominence. But he will make them at least
- 5:41Speaker 1: a team that gets a shot to be good because
- 5:44Speaker 1: people will care. He will get on TV, he will
- 5:47Speaker 1: say fun stuff. He doesn't like seventy to me, but
- 5:50Speaker 1: he is seventeen. He signed a six year deal. My
- 5:52Speaker 1: bed is he is able to fulfill like three years
- 5:54Speaker 1: of that. But Rick Pettino, good for him. He's made
- 5:58Speaker 1: it all the way back around, which is freaking cool.
- 6:01Speaker 1: All right, Next question, which five seat is more likely
- 6:03Speaker 1: to take down Number one this Friday? Miami versus Houston
- 6:06Speaker 1: or San Diego State versus Alabama. I have not been
- 6:08Speaker 1: a buyer in Miami, ever, and I have been wrong
- 6:12Speaker 1: because here they are on the Sweet sixteen. I think
- 6:14Speaker 1: they have a better shot at beating Houston than San
- 6:17Speaker 1: Diego does Alabama. But I don't really give them much
- 6:20Speaker 1: of a shot. But I haven't give them a shot
- 6:21Speaker 1: all year. Miami has only lost three times this year
- 6:24Speaker 1: when scoring more than seventy four points. It's kind of
- 6:26Speaker 1: the spot they need to get to Houston, they don't win.
- 6:32Speaker 1: I guess they're five hundred whenever they allow that many points.
- 6:34Speaker 1: So if they can just get to that number, they
- 6:38Speaker 1: got a pretty good shot because Houston not great when
- 6:41Speaker 1: they allow that many points. In Miami wins a bunch
- 6:44Speaker 1: of games when they can get to that many points.
- 6:45Speaker 1: So that's kind of the number. If they can get
- 6:46Speaker 1: to seventy five, I think they got a pretty good
- 6:49Speaker 1: shot to make it interesting at the end. But I
- 6:51Speaker 1: would say Miami over Houston more than San Diego State
- 6:54Speaker 1: over Alabama. The think about San Diego State though they
- 6:56Speaker 1: have seven seniors and tournament time that does matter. I mean,
- 7:00Speaker 1: I speak from a team that has three five star
- 7:05Speaker 1: freshmen that are prominent playing at Arkansas. How many seniors
- 7:08Speaker 1: in that team is Divo a senior. No, he's not,
- 7:11Speaker 1: and then it's also weird leader, right, yeah, and it's
- 7:13Speaker 1: also weird COVID years now, right, you have seniors, but
- 7:15Speaker 1: then you have senior seniors twenty five. So excuse me,
- 7:19Speaker 1: I said they're like twenty five because yeah, actually exactly, yes,
- 7:22Speaker 1: So Divo is actually a junior and could play two
- 7:24Speaker 1: more years if he wanted to at Arkansas. But the
- 7:28Speaker 1: Mitchell Twins, but again, they could play another year. But
- 7:32Speaker 1: we're not a senior laden team. And sometimes that you
- 7:34Speaker 1: can see that we make bonehead decisions, which it should
- 7:37Speaker 1: say young decisions. I think it's bonehead if you make
- 7:39Speaker 1: it when you're older, it's a young decision. It's a
- 7:42Speaker 1: freshman decision if you make it when you're young. San
- 7:44Speaker 1: Dieo State has seven seniors and two juniors, and Alabama
- 7:48Speaker 1: is very young. Alabama is so talented, though, so I
- 7:54Speaker 1: think Miami has a better shot to beat Houston San
- 7:57Speaker 1: Diego State. They're an older team that will be if anything,
- 8:00Speaker 1: what keeps them close as they if they'd fall quickly
- 8:04Speaker 1: far behind, like Candlebox says, you left me far behind me,
- 8:12Speaker 1: that maybe they can get back in the game. But
- 8:14Speaker 1: it's Miami over Houston. But it's a tough it's it's
- 8:17Speaker 1: a tough deal for both of those schools. All right. Next,
- 8:19Speaker 1: are you more confident in the advantage your razorbacks have
- 8:22Speaker 1: in the back court or nervous about the disadvantage they
- 8:24Speaker 1: may have in the front court versus yukon the Snowgo
- 8:27Speaker 1: guy we were talking about before the show. He's like
- 8:29Speaker 1: six nine, but I thought he was like two fifty
- 8:32Speaker 1: because he's huge, like wide, like if you can't get
- 8:35Speaker 1: around him. But you said he was two seventy. I
- 8:38Speaker 1: believe I read he was two seven. I listen, I
- 8:40Speaker 1: would believe it. I think it just hurt he was
- 8:41Speaker 1: two fifty. He's a monster at six nine, So how
- 8:45Speaker 1: do you move with that way? Dude? They also have
- 8:47Speaker 1: that seven two kid, yeah, who who was a freshman,
- 8:51Speaker 1: and so they basically have two centers. What do you say?
- 8:55Speaker 1: I don't believe it, though, right, I mean they it's
- 8:58Speaker 1: like Bryce being six foot one that he's to playing
- 9:03Speaker 1: quarterback at album. We see now he's like five ten,
- 9:05Speaker 1: five eleven. So I'm not that nervous on the interior
- 9:11Speaker 1: because we've we'll play dirty, we play tough and strong,
- 9:15Speaker 1: and the Mitchell twents or six ten and six nine.
- 9:19Speaker 1: We got another guy who we'll just elbow you and fight. Yeah,
- 9:23Speaker 1: so you know, we'll play strong. Our guards, though, are
- 9:27Speaker 1: very except for deep, but they're very young. Anthony Black
- 9:30Speaker 1: Nick Smith, who has been hurt for most of the year,
- 9:32Speaker 1: hasn't really reached the potential that I think he wants
- 9:35Speaker 1: or expects of himself. And we're tall and we're long.
- 9:42Speaker 1: They can shoot, yeah, you know, they really can't shoot,
- 9:45Speaker 1: you know, So I don't know that I'm nervous about
- 9:47Speaker 1: either one of those situations. I'm more nervous about they're
- 9:51Speaker 1: shooters and if we can't because they also are really
- 9:55Speaker 1: good at moving when they don't have the ball and
- 9:57Speaker 1: getting way open a lot to cut lots of backdoor stuff.
- 10:03Speaker 1: And so that to me is what makes me the
- 10:06Speaker 1: most nervous, is can we guard the shooters that they have? See,
- 10:10Speaker 1: I think your defense is so good, We're so good
- 10:12Speaker 1: we are They're gonna have to just get lucky with
- 10:14Speaker 1: those shots. I think that. I mean, when you talk
- 10:16Speaker 1: about like the interior, like I feel like you depend
- 10:19Speaker 1: so much on referees when you're when you're like a
- 10:23Speaker 1: you're scoring is all going to be inside the paint.
- 10:25Speaker 1: You draw those fouls, you can you hit free throws
- 10:27Speaker 1: that kind of thing. We can't shoot free throws. That's
- 10:29Speaker 1: another That's what I'm saying, Like, I think it's a
- 10:31Speaker 1: little worrisome. The magic number four arkansaw seventy. Where we
- 10:33Speaker 1: talked about points earlier, it's seventy percent free throws. If
- 10:36Speaker 1: we can shoot over seventy percent, it's not even It's
- 10:39Speaker 1: the worst free throw shooting team I've ever seen. I
- 10:41Speaker 1: think my whole life, Arkansas usually really good at free
- 10:44Speaker 1: throw shooting. We've never been bad. It's just a crop
- 10:46Speaker 1: of guys that don't shoot well to free throw line.
- 10:49Speaker 1: It's weird. So if we can hit seventy, we're in
- 10:52Speaker 1: the game. That's why I be Kansas. Yeah we went
- 10:54Speaker 1: ten of eleven with the rookie counsel. Yeah, that's what
- 10:57Speaker 1: it was. So I say we a lot. I do
- 11:00Speaker 1: play for the team. I just want you guys to know, Yeah,
- 11:01Speaker 1: I can tell yeah, yeah, you what everys why we watch? Yes,
- 11:04Speaker 1: thank you very much. So I think, to me, the
- 11:06Speaker 1: matchup is can we stop their shooters? And if we can,
- 11:10Speaker 1: I think we can hold a little bit. They're we're
- 11:13Speaker 1: they're gonna get us down low a little bit, and
- 11:14Speaker 1: we're gonna get them in the backcourt a little bit.
- 11:16Speaker 1: But we're gonna drive. It's gonna be We're gonna collect
- 11:18Speaker 1: lots of fouls. They're gonna they're gonna beat us up
- 11:20Speaker 1: when we drive. That's what we can do. Yeah, but
- 11:22Speaker 1: they got big boys for a reason, and so do we,
- 11:24Speaker 1: and they're gonna use it. So I'm excited. I was
- 11:27Speaker 1: talking to one of my buddies today's do you want
- 11:29Speaker 1: to go to John Mayer in Nashville on Friday night?
- 11:31Speaker 1: Because John Mayor is doing an acoustic tour And I
- 11:33Speaker 1: was like, man, there's like a I said fifty percent
- 11:36Speaker 1: chance that I won't be back, And then I thought
- 11:39Speaker 1: to myself, do I think it's fifty fifty that will
- 11:41Speaker 1: win the game? Vegas doesn't feeling pretty good? Yeah, that's
- 11:47Speaker 1: crazy because you love John. I know. I love John
- 11:50Speaker 1: may You love John I know. But if I come back,
- 11:53Speaker 1: I'll be a John Mayr. But I don't want to
- 11:55Speaker 1: come back. I don't want to come back for John
- 11:56Speaker 1: Mayer right here, right now, No, John Mayer, you love
- 11:59Speaker 1: the Elite eight more. I want to stay in Vegas.
- 12:01Speaker 1: You could just get trashed and okay and wow, okay,
- 12:07Speaker 1: all right, I don't even know for everybody watching, that's
- 12:10Speaker 1: a joke. I don't get trashed or brothel. I don't
- 12:13Speaker 1: even know where a brothel is. I know. All I
- 12:15Speaker 1: know is the places that, oh this used to be
- 12:17Speaker 1: a brothel, like eighty years ago. All I know it's
- 12:19Speaker 1: when people walk you walk by, and they got the
- 12:20Speaker 1: cards escort escort and then uh, I say no, one
- 12:25Speaker 1: of our friends got one the one time. I don't know,
- 12:28Speaker 1: and we were all like, what's happening? Why is he
- 12:30Speaker 1: doing this? Robbed huh No, No, he wouldn't pair. He
- 12:36Speaker 1: thought that it was a good thing for her. Have
- 12:40Speaker 1: I ever said no, no, no, okay, talked about this.
- 12:42Speaker 1: Are you sure? I don't think so? Have we not
- 12:44Speaker 1: not anything recorded? Okay? Then I'll what We'll end this
- 12:49Speaker 1: then and say that he told her you're lucky to
- 12:53Speaker 1: be with a guy like no, and guess what that
- 12:56Speaker 1: didn't really work? Yeah, so she left. I can see that. Yeah,
- 13:00Speaker 1: she left? All right? Next up, Okay, outside of Arkansas,
- 13:02Speaker 1: which game you're looking forward to the most? On Thursday?
- 13:05Speaker 1: Low Key Gonzaga U CLA. What's cool about Gonzaga is
- 13:10Speaker 1: nobody cares they're They're a three seed, right. Gonzaga is
- 13:13Speaker 1: usually a one, maybe a two, always the favorite. They
- 13:18Speaker 1: didn't march into this tournament the favorite. As a matter
- 13:20Speaker 1: of fact, they marched in kind of underwhelming because they
- 13:23Speaker 1: lost a home game, which they hadn't done since Saint
- 13:27Speaker 1: John's was good night. Yes, so that game, to me
- 13:32Speaker 1: is pretty cool. I think though, if I had to
- 13:34Speaker 1: pick a game on Thursday, that I think would be
- 13:36Speaker 1: the best to watch that Michigan State Kansas State game.
- 13:39Speaker 1: It's two scrappy teams like Kansas State. Although I believe
- 13:42Speaker 1: they're a three seed. I don't have a seed sheet
- 13:44Speaker 1: in front of me. Kansas State is a three seed,
- 13:47Speaker 1: you know there are three, which means they're one of
- 13:49Speaker 1: the top twelve teams in the country. But they're they
- 13:51Speaker 1: play so scrappy and they're Kansas State that you just
- 13:53Speaker 1: don't expect to have a good basketball team, and so
- 13:57Speaker 1: you just leave them. Those guys fight because Kansas State's
- 14:00Speaker 1: not known as a great basketball program, so you just
- 14:03Speaker 1: assume there are a bunch of scrappers. Michigan State same thing.
- 14:07Speaker 1: Seven seed going from memory. Yeah, January February same they
- 14:12Speaker 1: fight January February. I mean there's something too that like that.
- 14:15Speaker 1: I'm telling you I would hate that though, because that
- 14:17Speaker 1: means no April for his though well, no, I get it. Yeah,
- 14:20Speaker 1: but watching them all season, like I could not ever
- 14:23Speaker 1: place a bet on Michigan, I'm like, I don't believe
- 14:25Speaker 1: in this team, Michigan State. I'm sorry, I don't believe
- 14:28Speaker 1: in this team. And then all of a sudden, dude,
- 14:29Speaker 1: I mean they play good. They're they're playing good in
- 14:32Speaker 1: this tournament. You know, even back to Arkansas for a second,
- 14:35Speaker 1: we didn't have a great season twenty games to the
- 14:39Speaker 1: SEC tournament, but Must is good and tournament play Must
- 14:43Speaker 1: I mean he's taken us to two straight elite eights.
- 14:45Speaker 1: That would be a tough sled this year for sure.
- 14:50Speaker 1: But I mean there are certain coaches that definitely have
- 14:53Speaker 1: a knack for getting that team ready and also in
- 14:56Speaker 1: game coaching, which is vital tournament time, in game coaching,
- 15:01Speaker 1: end game changes and not always just at halftime, like
- 15:06Speaker 1: you got to make those moves. The fact that some
- 15:09Speaker 1: of these coaches will pull their star players and go like,
- 15:11Speaker 1: you know what, you're not You're not in it this game.
- 15:13Speaker 1: We gotta go to somebody else in the tournament. That's
- 15:14Speaker 1: a big deal, big deal that they can't really do
- 15:16Speaker 1: in the middle of the season because they want to
- 15:17Speaker 1: risk the person being but hurt all year, or for
- 15:20Speaker 1: mini games, which now they're like dort I, so they
- 15:22Speaker 1: have to. So it's fun to see the coaches that
- 15:25Speaker 1: are real in game winners without knowing the result of
- 15:29Speaker 1: last of the last game. Like who would you have
- 15:31Speaker 1: thought would be a bigger challenge for Arkansas, Kansas or Yukon. Well,
- 15:35Speaker 1: Kansas just because they won the national championship last year.
- 15:38Speaker 1: They have probably a top three overall player in Jalen
- 15:42Speaker 1: you know a period in all of college basketball. Dick
- 15:46Speaker 1: is awesome freshman. Yeah, Grady Dick. Kansas, for sure. They're
- 15:50Speaker 1: also a one seed. But Yukon just didn't play well
- 15:53Speaker 1: in the middle of the season, Like they came out hot,
- 15:55Speaker 1: they had a loll But they're really freaking good. Yeah,
- 15:58Speaker 1: they've gotten a lot better than feeling freaking good. Yeah,
- 16:02Speaker 1: but I would have said all on this one. I'm
- 16:03Speaker 1: a pessimist, That's what I'm saying. Dude, Like you we
- 16:06Speaker 1: we beat Kansas, Like right, I knows Kansas, Right, this
- 16:11Speaker 1: is the difference good. The difference though, is that Kansas
- 16:16Speaker 1: had a day to get ready for Arkansas. Because you're
- 16:19Speaker 1: talking about eight and nine, a pretty evenly matched Arkansas
- 16:22Speaker 1: versus Illinois team, both extremely athletic teams not really known
- 16:26Speaker 1: for their shooting. It was like playing a bad version
- 16:29Speaker 1: of ourself. We didn't get the good version of Illinois
- 16:31Speaker 1: that night. Maybe we stopped the good version from coming out.
- 16:34Speaker 1: But Kansas had a day to kind of get ready
- 16:37Speaker 1: for US. And I'm sure they had some assistance doing
- 16:40Speaker 1: a little bit of research ahead of time to give
- 16:42Speaker 1: to the coach, But they had a day. Yeah, they
- 16:43Speaker 1: had a day to talk to the team about it,
- 16:44Speaker 1: for the team to know who the players were. Because
- 16:46Speaker 1: the team they're not, they're not the team focusing on
- 16:47Speaker 1: Arkansas or Illinois. They gotta go out and win their
- 16:49Speaker 1: first game against the sixteen seed. Yeah. The difference is
- 16:52Speaker 1: Yukon has had all week, four days. Man, So I
- 16:56Speaker 1: like that Yukon had to fly farther. Maybe they're a
- 16:58Speaker 1: little more jet like edge. I'm like longer flight, they're
- 17:04Speaker 1: probably thirty two minutes tires for sure, But I do
- 17:06Speaker 1: think it's different now US beating Kansas than I think
- 17:09Speaker 1: it'll be a bigger hill to climb to beat Yukon
- 17:11Speaker 1: after they've had a week to get ready. All right,
- 17:13Speaker 1: Kevin going to the NBA. The Bucks, Celtics, and Sixers
- 17:16Speaker 1: all are all within three games of first place in
- 17:19Speaker 1: home court. Which team do you think needs it the most?
- 17:24Speaker 1: I mean the Bucks at home are unstoppable where I
- 17:27Speaker 1: think they're almost thirty and seven, twenty nine and seven
- 17:32Speaker 1: something like that when I was looking at it. Um,
- 17:35Speaker 1: they're all pretty good road teams. The Celtics not quite
- 17:38Speaker 1: as good on the road. But if I think somebody
- 17:41Speaker 1: that needs it the most, probably the seventy six Ers,
- 17:43Speaker 1: just because the Celtics are kind of bred to win now.
- 17:46Speaker 1: They had a really good posts to run leave. Did
- 17:48Speaker 1: you get the finals? Oh? They're always in it. And
- 17:50Speaker 1: Tatum is a top five player now, and I think
- 17:54Speaker 1: I feel that way after watching him last postseason. I
- 17:57Speaker 1: don't think I would have even with NBA Sunday ticket,
- 18:00Speaker 1: which is not what it's called, but it's what I
- 18:00Speaker 1: feel about it. Yeah, I call NBA Sunday tickets. Tatum
- 18:05Speaker 1: is the top five player. Joe El Embiid is a
- 18:09Speaker 1: top two or three player. Harden dribbles a lot, that's all.
- 18:15Speaker 1: He's dribbles alike, Yannis, I'm gonna just go to seventy
- 18:20Speaker 1: sixers because the Bucks have won that. The Celtics, the
- 18:22Speaker 1: sevent Sixers haven't gotten there, and if they flame out,
- 18:24Speaker 1: one of those teams can't get to the Eastern Conference finals,
- 18:27Speaker 1: much less the championship. And I think the seventy six
- 18:31Speaker 1: six or will be flame out, and I think then
- 18:34Speaker 1: all crap starts to break loose. I think Hardon goes
- 18:37Speaker 1: to Houston. I think Doc Rivers reevaluates. Do you watch
- 18:41Speaker 1: the doc Rivers on Netflix? It's I think it's a
- 18:44Speaker 1: bunch of coaches a bat to watch Dalton turned. I'm
- 18:46Speaker 1: still gonna do full swing first and even finish that.
- 18:49Speaker 1: Who do you think, Kevin, I'm gonna go to the Sixers.
- 18:52Speaker 1: I think they need it more. Yeah, I agree, just
- 18:54Speaker 1: because like you said, the Bucks have been there, done that.
- 18:56Speaker 1: Celtics did it last year. I think they can go
- 18:58Speaker 1: on the road, but the Sixers have They've been so
- 19:00Speaker 1: good for five years now with them beat and multitude
- 19:02Speaker 1: of teams, whether it's Hardened and teams before or Simmons
- 19:05Speaker 1: when he was there at Simmon before he sucked real bad,
- 19:07Speaker 1: just like kind of bad. Yeah, exactly. So I think
- 19:09Speaker 1: they needed the most to get that crowd on their
- 19:11Speaker 1: back more than any other team. I think they feel
- 19:15Speaker 1: the most pressure too. Yeah that too, because again, if
- 19:18Speaker 1: they don't win, why aren't you winning? You have everything,
- 19:21Speaker 1: We've given you everything, and you're still not winning. So
- 19:24Speaker 1: I think they feel the most pressure. I think they
- 19:25Speaker 1: need it the most. All right, Well more NFL. Here
- 19:27Speaker 1: do you think the Ravens and Lamar Jackson's relationship is unreparable? Now?
- 19:31Speaker 1: It seems like they don't like each other right now.
- 19:34Speaker 1: Lamar Jackson apparently he's reaching out to other He's just going, hey,
- 19:36Speaker 1: let me talk to other teams. Other teams can't talk
- 19:38Speaker 1: to him. He is restricted non exclusive, non exclusive franchise tag,
- 19:43Speaker 1: which means other teams can say, hey, we'll give you
- 19:45Speaker 1: this much money, and if the Ravens don't match, they
- 19:47Speaker 1: can pay him that much money with else they have
- 19:48Speaker 1: to give two first round picks to the Ravens. So
- 19:50Speaker 1: he has the ability to talk to other teams, and
- 19:54Speaker 1: he's going, he'd like to talk to other teams. Now
- 19:55Speaker 1: that just came out, yep. But it's a contract negotiate.
- 20:00Speaker 1: That's the only I don't think it is unreparable. It's
- 20:04Speaker 1: a contract negotiation. Do you many times I've been in
- 20:05Speaker 1: a contrat negotiation right a lot and been like I'm
- 20:08Speaker 1: done with this place. But really I'm like, I'm done
- 20:10Speaker 1: with this place. Prences, No, I'm not. Ope, I scare you.
- 20:13Speaker 1: But there's just tactics constantly in negotiations, and so I mean,
- 20:17Speaker 1: I'm in a contract negotiation now, but I mean it
- 20:19Speaker 1: this time for real serious. This time, I'm serious. Other
- 20:22Speaker 1: times I just kind of dicking around. This time, I'm serious.
- 20:25Speaker 1: But the only thing that keeps me from going, well,
- 20:28Speaker 1: he's not going to be a Raven is the fact
- 20:30Speaker 1: that it is. It's a negotiation, and anything can be
- 20:32Speaker 1: said in negotiation to make anybody feel a certain way.
- 20:35Speaker 1: So do I think he'll be a raven? Yeah, not
- 20:38Speaker 1: as much as I used to. I used to go
- 20:39Speaker 1: ninety percent. I'd think if I had to put a
- 20:41Speaker 1: percentage on it, sixty five percent, he'll be a raven.
- 20:44Speaker 1: What would you put it on? I was just about
- 20:45Speaker 1: to say sixty five. I still think he'll be a raven.
- 20:48Speaker 1: You can't lose a franchise quarterback. They're so hard to
- 20:50Speaker 1: get and find and keep that, and he's one of
- 20:55Speaker 1: the best if he's not hurt. And I don't even
- 20:58Speaker 1: know he was hurt last year. I don't know that
- 21:00Speaker 1: he was or wasn't. But it's like, if I'm in
- 21:02Speaker 1: the middle of some crap and I'm half hurt, and
- 21:05Speaker 1: now my contracts coming up, I gotta make a business decision.
- 21:07Speaker 1: Scottie pipper Man, Scotty pipp that's tough. Pippo got so underpaid.
- 21:12Speaker 1: It makes me feel sad for him. I know, I
- 21:13Speaker 1: know it did. But but he did the same thing.
- 21:15Speaker 1: You know. He was like, I'm injured. Are you really injured? Yes,
- 21:19Speaker 1: I can't even play. I'm not gonna play the rest
- 21:21Speaker 1: of the season until we fix this. But he wasn't
- 21:22Speaker 1: the face of the franchise in Jordan. He was to say,
- 21:24Speaker 1: he was the second face. Yeah. I think he'll end
- 21:28Speaker 1: up with the Ravens. I think it's reparable, but for
- 21:32Speaker 1: the first time, I'm not for sure that he's gonna
- 21:34Speaker 1: be a raven. It's fun, isn't it. I love it.
- 21:36Speaker 1: I love drama. If it ain't me, I love it.

- 22:50Speaker 1: do you know it's ready? Can you tell it's ready?
- 22:52Speaker 1: It's still a little damp, little damp, but it ain't.
- 22:55Speaker 1: It ain't screaming wet. You know. Hey, I got a
- 22:58Speaker 1: question for you. I'm ready. We were talking about the
- 23:00Speaker 1: college eligibility earlier. I was thinking, so, like, if I
- 23:04Speaker 1: didn't play, if I didn't go to college, and I'm
- 23:06Speaker 1: forty four years old, can I like go to college
- 23:09Speaker 1: and play? Yes? Today, as long as you haven't taken
- 23:12Speaker 1: money for the sport. No, I'm good. An Arkansas, we
- 23:14Speaker 1: had a gay him, Alex dill Or, twenty seven years old,
- 23:15Speaker 1: shot threes out the gym. Wow, why are there not
- 23:19Speaker 1: more like because year olds? Because when you're old, why
- 23:22Speaker 1: do you think? Let me ask you the question thing.
- 23:23Speaker 1: Why aren't there more thirty five year olds playing college basketball?
- 23:26Speaker 1: Thirty two year olds and all that. You know. Sometimes
- 23:28Speaker 1: in football you'll see like a forty one year old
- 23:30Speaker 1: guys made the team on a D three and it's
- 23:31Speaker 1: a huge news story. You can go try out. I
- 23:36Speaker 1: mean NBA players, they're twenty eight, twenty nine, you know. Like,
- 23:39Speaker 1: but say some guy like got his girl pregnant and
- 23:42Speaker 1: he had to work and he never went to college,
- 23:44Speaker 1: but he's so good he's been staying ready. Yeah, and
- 23:47Speaker 1: then he can go play too. But but in basketball
- 23:49Speaker 1: you don't see that because there aren't people that have
- 23:53Speaker 1: the athletic ability or can maintain that athletic ability at
- 23:58Speaker 1: that level for that long when you get older, especially
- 24:00Speaker 1: if you're not sharpening it all the time. Yeah all
- 24:01Speaker 1: the time. Yeah, sharpened that freaking knife on the blade
- 24:04Speaker 1: and then wet the blade. Didn't wet the sharpener. We
- 24:06Speaker 1: didn't make a TV show about where we find this
- 24:08Speaker 1: dude redemption or he's at the he's at the auto shot, Like, like, man,
- 24:13Speaker 1: I've been balling every day? Do I go to why
- 24:14Speaker 1: I go to the Why I dominate? I work out
- 24:16Speaker 1: every day and everything. How old are you, dude? Twenty nine?
- 24:18Speaker 1: All right, let's go. We're we're getting you to Michigan
- 24:20Speaker 1: State and the thing is, if he hasn't run as
- 24:23Speaker 1: college eligibility, he could do that amazing. But it just
- 24:26Speaker 1: tells It just shows you how many times that doesn't happen,
- 24:29Speaker 1: because I think that would happen all the time if
- 24:31Speaker 1: people were like, oh, signs up, I'm forty seven, feeling
- 24:35Speaker 1: pretty good today, was just waking up. You could go
- 24:37Speaker 1: try out for the Michigan State Yeah, no, that's not
- 24:40Speaker 1: the deal, but that is a good question. Yes, thank
- 24:42Speaker 1: you. You You can play. If you haven't accepted money as
- 24:44Speaker 1: a pro for what you're doing, you haven't used up
- 24:47Speaker 1: your college eligibility, you can go and play the sport. Guys,
- 24:49Speaker 1: we're talking about that sort of thinking. It'd be amazing.
- 24:51Speaker 1: Why don't you give a shot? No, I already went
- 24:53Speaker 1: to college. If you had to one collegiate sport and
- 24:57Speaker 1: we made you go try out for one, and you
- 25:00Speaker 1: had to try out, seriously, any collegiate sport golf, Okay,
- 25:06Speaker 1: that's a cop out. I wouldn't make it. That is
- 25:08Speaker 1: a cop out. You gave me one collegian I'm gonna
- 25:11Speaker 1: I'm gonna say one that's not golf. It's mostly one
- 25:15Speaker 1: that you don't play all the time. Yeah, so yeah,
- 25:18Speaker 1: I mean, let's go. I mean, I'll go football. Let's
- 25:20Speaker 1: just try. Okay, you're gonna try football. You're gonna walk
- 25:24Speaker 1: up and be like, I like to next get out
- 25:27Speaker 1: of here. You don't even get to finish what you're
- 25:29Speaker 1: saying to the person to the desk. I'd like to
- 25:30Speaker 1: try out for the next Thank you, sir. I mean
- 25:34Speaker 1: you've been training tennis. Hey, no, terrible, I'd be terrible.
- 25:43Speaker 1: Wouldn't be football. I die baseball maybe, I mean that's
- 25:49Speaker 1: probably the best. I don't want to go, uncle Rico,
- 25:52Speaker 1: but you're about I don't if you don't mind. My
- 25:58Speaker 1: senior year, All conference, all region didn't matter, I would
- 26:03Speaker 1: n Saint John's just won the national championship. I was
- 26:08Speaker 1: All Conference Defensive player of the year, like the one.
- 26:13Speaker 1: So probably baseball. I'll still be terrible, but probably baseball.
- 26:15Speaker 1: Have you thrown a baseball recently? Yeah? Yeah, But I'm
- 26:18Speaker 1: not gonna go try out, so all I needs it
- 26:21Speaker 1: bout a week and then I'll be head up. Put
- 26:24Speaker 1: lug nuts on. I don't even put ug nuts on anything,
- 26:26Speaker 1: but I I would. When I made the decision, I
- 26:28Speaker 1: gotta make them. It's like Aaron Rodgers goes into the
- 26:30Speaker 1: dark hole. I'm gonna put some lug nuts on and
- 26:32Speaker 1: make up my mind here if I'm gonna go to
- 26:34Speaker 1: college to play baseball? All right? Aaron Torres coming up
- 26:38Speaker 1: in a second from Fox Sports in the Aaron Torres Podcast,
- 26:40Speaker 1: and we'll talk to him. Um, Kevin Kluge is here,
- 26:43Speaker 1: by the way. Who is He's Eddie and ice trainer
- 26:46Speaker 1: and he's also a former college football player. Kevin, Why
- 26:50Speaker 1: don't thirty year thirty five year olds go play college football?
- 26:52Speaker 1: Right now? It is funny when you guys were talking
- 26:54Speaker 1: about that. I played college football myself at Minnesota State.
- 26:57Speaker 1: We had a probably a forty year old guy. I
- 27:00Speaker 1: try to walk on and uh, you could tell he
- 27:02Speaker 1: was drinking beer, probably weakly. He comes in with a
- 27:05Speaker 1: beer belly thinking he can play, rolling up, scratching his belly.
- 27:09Speaker 1: I mean, the dude does a ten yard sprint. He's,
- 27:11Speaker 1: you know, hands on the knees, about to bombit. But
- 27:14Speaker 1: I mean, yeah, I mean, Bobby hit on it. When
- 27:16Speaker 1: you don't train fast twitch muscles, you lose them immediately.
- 27:19Speaker 1: So if you're not sharpen than that knife, forget it.
- 27:22Speaker 1: Like you're you're done. Like these we could we call
- 27:24Speaker 1: it young blood. Like these young guys who can recover
- 27:27Speaker 1: quick and you know, they got the fast switch muscles.
- 27:29Speaker 1: They live breeding like, you know, they train it every day.
- 27:31Speaker 1: So it's easy for those young guys to show that
- 27:35Speaker 1: old guy who drinks beer, what's up? Can you imagine?
- 27:37Speaker 1: I got running one sprint? This is a bet? Why
- 27:41Speaker 1: did you do this? I mean this beer guy was
- 27:43Speaker 1: probably a bet. I don't know he was. He was
- 27:46Speaker 1: dead serious about it, but I'm like, man like, he
- 27:48Speaker 1: wasn't even close, Like it was kind of embarrassing to
- 27:51Speaker 1: be at the university to be truthful. You know, probably
- 27:53Speaker 1: was awesome back in the day, or thought he was
- 27:55Speaker 1: like had a brief brief awesomeness. It's something, and it's
- 27:59Speaker 1: hard the whole time. I can't wait to try out.
- 28:00Speaker 1: I'm gonna get back out there. And he kept putting
- 28:03Speaker 1: it off, and then his wife's like, go try out,
- 28:05Speaker 1: stop talking about it. Go will, Okay, you will, And
- 28:08Speaker 1: they're like, God damgn it, now I gotta go try out.
- 28:11Speaker 1: It's one of those fights you get into where you
- 28:12Speaker 1: say something you don't really mean it, and then you
- 28:13Speaker 1: gotta go do it. Kevin also went to the Arkantas
- 28:16Speaker 1: game with us when we won the whole thing. Well
- 28:19Speaker 1: that that round, Yeah, and Iowa, it's pretty cool. Huh.
- 28:23Speaker 1: I'll say this, I'm a football guy at heart, and uh,
- 28:26Speaker 1: I don't watch many in game basketball events. That was
- 28:29Speaker 1: probably the best in game experience I've witnessed him a
- 28:32Speaker 1: long time. It was it was fun. I'd like to
- 28:35Speaker 1: see the college basketball playing defense versus the NBA. I think,
- 28:39Speaker 1: I don't know what your guys opinion on NBA defense,
- 28:41Speaker 1: but a lot of isolation, Yeah, a lot of a
- 28:44Speaker 1: lot of one on one, a lot of isolation, a
- 28:46Speaker 1: lot of like that, ain't even ain't even trying. Like
- 28:48Speaker 1: there're certain guys they don't even try, and they're known
- 28:50Speaker 1: as guys who don't even try. Does he play defense? No?
- 28:52Speaker 1: Can you shoot? Yeah? How good? Well? Real good? Okay,
- 28:55Speaker 1: well he's good. We'll take hey win. Kansas shot that long,
- 28:58Speaker 1: like three point It was stupid, stupid thing I've ever
- 29:00Speaker 1: seen him. The last one second left the shot clock
- 29:02Speaker 1: from the logo big McDonald's archer. Yeah, dude, that was crazy.
- 29:06Speaker 1: I was like, we just shut him down a big
- 29:07Speaker 1: possession bad boom, Oh my god, I didn't even hit
- 29:10Speaker 1: the rim. It was so stupid, and it's it's not
- 29:12Speaker 1: like you know the half court shots where you like
- 29:14Speaker 1: put everything into it. It was a straight up, great form,
- 29:17Speaker 1: perfect shot. Yeah, it was stupid. I hated it at
- 29:19Speaker 1: that moment. I thought Kansas was gonna win. When that happened,
- 29:22Speaker 1: I'm like, the balls going their way, they're gonna win. Wow. Hey,
- 29:25Speaker 1: how do you feel about Eddie getting on the workout
- 29:26Speaker 1: train last month and a half or so? I love it. Uh,
- 29:30Speaker 1: some people would call Eddie virgin clay when you step in,
- 29:33Speaker 1: just because you know what I mean, virgin virgin clay Man. Well,
- 29:38Speaker 1: my point is you're pretty green coming in. I appreciate
- 29:41Speaker 1: your enthusiasm of wanting to learn, and uh, the gym
- 29:44Speaker 1: can be intimidating. I thought you came in with both feet,
- 29:47Speaker 1: not tiptoeing, and you wanted to learn. And you know,
- 29:51Speaker 1: the first day you died, but you came back the
- 29:52Speaker 1: second day and just kept building. You guys coming back
- 29:56Speaker 1: the second day. I told Bobby that, I said, I
- 29:58Speaker 1: can't believe Eddie's been staking, not the way he has,
- 30:00Speaker 1: but he comes with a smile on his face. And
- 30:02Speaker 1: that's the only thing you need, is that attitude. And
- 30:05Speaker 1: knocking him dead every quick though, does that smile go away, like, dude,
- 30:09Speaker 1: let we get angry at him. Yeah, for sure, because
- 30:12Speaker 1: he's like a friend. But then when it starts, you're like, hey,
- 30:14Speaker 1: you're our friend. Why are you being mean? You're being
- 30:17Speaker 1: mean to me? Yes, it hurts, it sucks, and we
- 30:20Speaker 1: tried a little tactics to stall and that doesn't happen.
- 30:22Speaker 1: And they can see it all at this point right
- 30:24Speaker 1: country club over. Yes, it's like, ah, you went to
- 30:29Speaker 1: Arkansas with me? Why are you being so meaning? Yeah,
- 30:32Speaker 1: it isn't killing. It shows that even asking me sometimes
- 30:34Speaker 1: like hey, we're working out today, and I'm like, okay,
- 30:36Speaker 1: let's go. So now I even go, hey, we're working
- 30:37Speaker 1: out this time. Most most times, except for game one
- 30:41Speaker 1: of the NCAA tournament, we were getting work out in.
- 30:43Speaker 1: I was like that you should come work out, and
- 30:45Speaker 1: he goes, I've had two beers. Yeah, I was already
- 30:47Speaker 1: two beers in. I left the bar. At that point,
- 30:49Speaker 1: I risk throwing it all up. You know, we don't
- 30:52Speaker 1: want that. We don't want that. We don't want that. Okay,
- 30:55Speaker 1: let's get to some stories here. First of all, Tony Mitchell,
- 30:58Speaker 1: if it's back at Alabama was a spend? Did he
- 31:01Speaker 1: drove a one hundred and forty one miles an hour?
- 31:02Speaker 1: They got him? That's real fast. I have no interest
- 31:04Speaker 1: aside from him playing at Alabama, I have no interest
- 31:07Speaker 1: in going that fast. I don't even want to go.
- 31:08Speaker 1: Have you ever gone that fast and an airplane? And
- 31:10Speaker 1: even then I'm like slow down and like takeoff? Yes?
- 31:13Speaker 1: Like it. That's too fast, that's too fast. Suspend. An
- 31:17Speaker 1: Alabama defensive back Tony Mitchell was driving one hundred and
- 31:19Speaker 1: forty one miles per hour as he attempted to flee
- 31:21Speaker 1: police in Florida last week before being arrested. That's somebody
- 31:24Speaker 1: who doesn't make great decisions, though, too Like, aside from
- 31:27Speaker 1: the bad decision of going that fast, it's the worst
- 31:31Speaker 1: decision of I'm gonna try to get away from the cops.
- 31:33Speaker 1: And maybe you got that fast well running from the cops,
- 31:35Speaker 1: but the cops weren't going after him because he's doing
- 31:37Speaker 1: sixty five. And you've said before that if you had
- 31:41Speaker 1: to get away, you could probably outsmart the cops. I
- 31:44Speaker 1: don't know what scenario you were talking about, but you
- 31:46Speaker 1: said that, Yeah, you were smart enough to outsmart the cops.
- 31:49Speaker 1: If you were put in that situation. This is what
- 31:51Speaker 1: I said. I'm pretty sure that's how I'm gonna tell
- 31:53Speaker 1: you what I said. I said, if you gave me
- 31:57Speaker 1: a ten minute head start, nobody would catch me. Listen
- 32:00Speaker 1: to that, Kevin, I'll be out of there tomorrow, Wednesday,
- 32:05Speaker 1: next week, next week. We gotta do it. But you
- 32:08Speaker 1: give me a ten minute ahead start, you will never
- 32:09Speaker 1: find me again. That's not true, especially during a like
- 32:13Speaker 1: for a law enforcement like wholesom telling you you give
- 32:17Speaker 1: me ten minutes, I'm gone, you will not find me. Helicopters.
- 32:20Speaker 1: I'm not saying that I'm running. I'm not just driving away.
- 32:24Speaker 1: You don't for sure you're gonna be the guy on
- 32:25Speaker 1: cops who like just goes in a garbage can, like
- 32:28Speaker 1: they're gonna find you. You know that TikTok's down, They're
- 32:32Speaker 1: gonna know. They're not gonna they're gonna know it's me
- 32:35Speaker 1: walking down the glasses in a mustache. How's anyone's in
- 32:38Speaker 1: bob bit bones, They're gonna know. I do think if
- 32:41Speaker 1: you give me ten minutes, I could get away and
- 32:43Speaker 1: you don't find me, okay, And if I got and
- 32:45Speaker 1: if I was able to stay hidden, for what five
- 32:48Speaker 1: days or like missing, Yeah, you have to have a
- 32:50Speaker 1: limb Yeah yeah, youah, five days. I think if it's
- 32:52Speaker 1: the prize, I think I would win the prize. I
- 32:53Speaker 1: bet whatever. It's amazing. But I didn't just say what
- 32:56Speaker 1: you said. You know, you said I could just get
- 32:58Speaker 1: in a car and the cops behind me and get away.
- 33:00Speaker 1: That's way different minutes. I'm just saying, ever had an advantage,
- 33:03Speaker 1: like somebody on the run. I think I also have
- 33:05Speaker 1: the skills to be in the woods for a day.
- 33:08Speaker 1: People that escape prison for weeks they're idiots. They have
- 33:11Speaker 1: a week two week heads start and they get caught,
- 33:13Speaker 1: but they're idiots. I just need five days for the
- 33:15Speaker 1: prize money. Okay, my money's on Bobby. Yeah, I think
- 33:17Speaker 1: I could do it. What are you talking about? Ten minutes?
- 33:21Speaker 1: So that's funny. The reason this really became a story
- 33:25Speaker 1: is Nick Saban at the at the podium and he
- 33:28Speaker 1: goes up and he's talking and he's like, Hey, there's
- 33:32Speaker 1: no such thing as wrong place at the wrong time, Okay,
- 33:34Speaker 1: and I agree, And he said this because Nate Oats said,
- 33:38Speaker 1: oh oh man, yeah, wrong place at the wrong time.
- 33:41Speaker 1: Brandon Miller, Yeah, so if you don't think Saban was
- 33:45Speaker 1: saying that on purpose, because Saban does everything for a reason.
- 33:50Speaker 1: You rarely catch Saban saying anything. He really goes back
- 33:53Speaker 1: and goes out. I don't mean to say it like that.
- 33:54Speaker 1: He doesn't. You know, it's not really a style. So
- 33:56Speaker 1: two things we learned. One, no need to drive one
- 33:58Speaker 1: hundred forty one miles an hour. Sure, even if you're
- 34:00Speaker 1: evading police too. I could evade the crap out of
- 34:03Speaker 1: some police for five days with a ten minutes to start.
- 34:05Speaker 1: Tell ten minutes, it's all you need. Give me ten minutes.
- 34:08Speaker 1: I'm out the door. Lamar Jackson we talked abut him
- 34:10Speaker 1: a little bit ago, but his representative. But by the way,
- 34:12Speaker 1: it's not his agent, because he's his own agent. But
- 34:14Speaker 1: I told you guys, I think too much has been
- 34:16Speaker 1: made about him being his own agent. I thought his
- 34:18Speaker 1: mom was his agent. Okay, okay, even then, I'm telling
- 34:23Speaker 1: you he has to have lawyers to read contracts. Even
- 34:26Speaker 1: though he doesn't have a quote unquote agent at CIA
- 34:29Speaker 1: at insert massive agency here, he still he still has
- 34:33Speaker 1: people that are working for him to make sure he
- 34:36Speaker 1: gets the best deal. Yeah, he's not just out there
- 34:38Speaker 1: freeballing it going, hey, come on up, I've bid dairy
- 34:43Speaker 1: Coyne today from noon to one, give me your Yeah,
- 34:47Speaker 1: that's just not the deal. I think that's how it's
- 34:50Speaker 1: presented because it's uh, it's a glossier story. It's fine.
- 34:53Speaker 1: I look at this guy represent himself rooting for him.
- 34:55Speaker 1: But Jackson the Ravens basically a stalemate representative for the
- 34:59Speaker 1: former league V I don't know if it's his mom
- 35:01Speaker 1: or not. They just a representative has been contacting teams
- 35:04Speaker 1: going hey, let's do this. Come on, you guys have
- 35:06Speaker 1: had the opportunity to make an offer. We want to
- 35:10Speaker 1: come there. And now he's saying that he doesn't have
- 35:14Speaker 1: to have a fully guaranteed contract. It's different than what
- 35:18Speaker 1: we've heard because we've heard he wanted a fully guaranteed
- 35:20Speaker 1: contract because Deshaun Watson got one, which really set a
- 35:23Speaker 1: bad president for everybody. Those Browns owners are just idiots.
- 35:27Speaker 1: I get it. They wanted to land their quarterback, but
- 35:29Speaker 1: they that's gonna go down some one of the dumbest
- 35:32Speaker 1: moves ever. So Lamar Jackson looking at some stats here,
- 35:37Speaker 1: twenty twenty two, twelve games, seventeen touchdowns, seven interceptions, and
- 35:42Speaker 1: remember for a while early in the season he was
- 35:44Speaker 1: like MVP like he was playing really well. I remember
- 35:47Speaker 1: talking about it here. He's just killing it. So he
- 35:49Speaker 1: only played twelve games twenty twenty one. Twelve games again,
- 35:54Speaker 1: that's it. So you're looking at seventeen games, missing five,
- 36:00Speaker 1: playing twelve, basically sixty eight seventy percent of the games.
- 36:04Speaker 1: The last two years, his MVP season he played fifteen games,
- 36:08Speaker 1: thirty six touchdown, six interceptions. So he's not ever playing
- 36:11Speaker 1: a full season without getting hurt. And I think that's
- 36:14Speaker 1: what everybody wonders about him. Is he gonna be able
- 36:15Speaker 1: to stay healthy? And until this year, I would say
- 36:19Speaker 1: he stayed generally pretty healthy. But two years in a
- 36:22Speaker 1: row of missing five games, that's not someone I can
- 36:26Speaker 1: just go, yeah, he's actually pretty healthy. After the second
- 36:29Speaker 1: year of that, you kind of have to drop the
- 36:31Speaker 1: oh no, you kind of wrong about that. He's pretty healthy.
- 36:34Speaker 1: That's ten games in two years, so one more season
- 36:37Speaker 1: that he's missed a whole season. Yeah, yeah, So it's
- 36:40Speaker 1: gonna be tough, but it is so hard to get
- 36:41Speaker 1: a franchise quarterback. Is Huntley still the back up there? Yeah?
- 36:46Speaker 1: I think so. I think he'll going the season as
- 36:47Speaker 1: the starter. If they don't have Lamar, and he played
- 36:49Speaker 1: pretty well, he'd probably be the guy that I don't
- 36:53Speaker 1: know what they would do if Lamar left. I'm sure
- 36:57Speaker 1: they'd have a great number one this year, or they'd
- 36:59Speaker 1: be able to use whatever number one plus something else
- 37:01Speaker 1: and move up grab one of those guys if they can.
- 37:03Speaker 1: But you're looking at let's just go from the top.
- 37:05Speaker 1: Carolina probably gonna get c J. Strout if you look
- 37:08Speaker 1: at the Vegas odds, and I usually do for stuff
- 37:11Speaker 1: like that. Texans probably gonna get Bryce Young. The Colts
- 37:19Speaker 1: probably be gonna get Anthony richarond or Levis. I don't
- 37:24Speaker 1: know who this Anthony Richards something is like crazy to me.
- 37:28Speaker 1: And they get and they watch a lot more tape,
- 37:30Speaker 1: they interview him. I watched them play like five games,
- 37:32Speaker 1: and I watched them game one and two. It's like, hi,
- 37:34Speaker 1: areas heisman heisman and then just suck yea. But he
- 37:37Speaker 1: does have all the tools. He's a he's a linebacker
- 37:41Speaker 1: looking dude with he just doesn't have experience, which could
- 37:45Speaker 1: be a good thing and a bad thing. You can go, well,
- 37:48Speaker 1: he's not good because he hasn't had that many snaps.
- 37:49Speaker 1: But look how great he can be or you can go.
- 37:51Speaker 1: He had some snaps and nose snaps sucked. But I
- 37:54Speaker 1: do kind of trust the teams who are looking at
- 37:58Speaker 1: all this, and sometimes you have to take a fly
- 38:00Speaker 1: on a player because quarterbacks are so hard to get.
- 38:02Speaker 1: It's so hard to get a franchise quarterback, and it's
- 38:05Speaker 1: so hard to get a franchise quarterback if you play
- 38:07Speaker 1: them early for them to actually have moderate success. It's
- 38:10Speaker 1: gonna be hard to come in as a rookie and
- 38:11Speaker 1: be really good, to have moderate success and be able
- 38:14Speaker 1: to roll that over. Sometimes they get scarred, they get
- 38:16Speaker 1: so beat up their first year, or they're in just
- 38:18Speaker 1: a bad franchise that they're always going to be bad,
- 38:22Speaker 1: even though if they'd been with a better team, better organization,
- 38:24Speaker 1: they may have been a lot better quarterback. So if
- 38:29Speaker 1: I'm the Ravens, I figure out the deal and try
- 38:31Speaker 1: to make it work. He doesn't want guarantee money. Apparently
- 38:35Speaker 1: I think he did. I think now he's having to
- 38:37Speaker 1: walk back a little bit. Obj is doing the same thing.
- 38:40Speaker 1: Iona reaches a five year deal we talked about and
- 38:44Speaker 1: we talked about this on the show earlier this week,
- 38:47Speaker 1: where Tobin Anderson is going on, over going on, over
- 38:51Speaker 1: going over coach Tobin Anderson's coming in. Honestly thought Perdue
- 38:56Speaker 1: would fire their coach and hire Toby. Yeah, I don't
- 38:59Speaker 1: think so. That would have been won. It would have
- 39:02Speaker 1: been the movie he won the coaching joby one game,
- 39:05Speaker 1: all right, we're coaching to the death. Whoever wins gets
- 39:07Speaker 1: the job at um. Yeah, so Fairly Dickinson, which I'm
- 39:11Speaker 1: gonna tell you what. I've never said that team's name
- 39:13Speaker 1: in my life till this year. It sounds like a
- 39:16Speaker 1: character in huck Finn Fairly Fairly Dickinson. It's fairly Inhutcaracter.
- 39:23Speaker 1: So I don't think about Fairly Dickinson. But he is
- 39:25Speaker 1: now the coach at Iona. And I said I did
- 39:28Speaker 1: not think he'd get a big Power six job, but
- 39:30Speaker 1: he'd probably move up. And I think that counts right.
- 39:32Speaker 1: That's a big step. Yeah, that's a it's a step still, big,
- 39:36Speaker 1: Iona guy, either to be honest with step in the
- 39:38Speaker 1: right direction. After just one year, You've never said Fairly
- 39:41Speaker 1: Dickson ever, But you Dickinson. Oh, I don't know. Okay,
- 39:44Speaker 1: I thought it was wrong. You still don't even I
- 39:45Speaker 1: literally thought I was wrong the first time yeah. Yeah.
- 39:48Speaker 1: So when that's how much I've not said it, I
- 39:50Speaker 1: was like, oh, I've been saying it wrong the whole Dickinson.
- 39:52Speaker 1: So you've said Iona, you know Iona only only because
- 39:56Speaker 1: Patino went there really not before? Really, I mean, I'm
- 39:59Speaker 1: sure I've said it, But why I care about? I
- 40:00Speaker 1: want to remember I own him? Well, you know how
- 40:02Speaker 1: I know them through like early those tournaments that they have,
- 40:04Speaker 1: the Maui Invitationals, and that's where I know him from.
- 40:07Speaker 1: So he was hired after you last May one year
- 40:10Speaker 1: there he went two hundred and nine and sixty two
- 40:14Speaker 1: in nine seasons at a Division two school. He took
- 40:18Speaker 1: FTERU from four and twenty two to a twenty one
- 40:21Speaker 1: win team this last season. Now, I would want to
- 40:24Speaker 1: know more, and I'm sure they did more research the
- 40:26Speaker 1: players that he has. Was he did he go get them?
- 40:29Speaker 1: Did he pull them all than himself? Did he have
- 40:32Speaker 1: a whole new system? Was he using the coach before?
- 40:35Speaker 1: It's gonna be hard. Press made me believe that the
- 40:38Speaker 1: coach he went four and twenty two had a bunch
- 40:40Speaker 1: of good players waiting though they just decided to roll
- 40:43Speaker 1: over with a new coach. So I'm gonna give him
- 40:44Speaker 1: the benefit of the doubt and go that's awesome. And
- 40:47Speaker 1: he has two nine and sixty two, has a winning record,
- 40:49Speaker 1: a substantial winning record at Division two. I'm rooting for
- 40:52Speaker 1: him me too, I'm rooting. I wish he'd have been
- 40:55Speaker 1: like a pe coach before that, though, so we could
- 40:57Speaker 1: really make the Disney movie happen. Yeah, well it's I was.
- 41:00Speaker 1: I was doing a little deep dive on him and
- 41:02Speaker 1: said that in college he played for Westland University. I
- 41:06Speaker 1: don't know where that is. People that went there. Why
- 41:08Speaker 1: do I know that school too? Where is this one
- 41:10Speaker 1: in Connecticut? Right? I don't know. I have no idea.
- 41:13Speaker 1: You know where Wesleyan is? Clue? No, I don't need that.
- 41:16Speaker 1: But he still ranks there as the eleventh all time
- 41:19Speaker 1: in career score scoring as a player. Did they only
- 41:21Speaker 1: have eleven players? So Tobin was a baller. Good for
- 41:26Speaker 1: him Connecticut. I mean he was famous because well, they won.
- 41:30Speaker 1: But when they won their conference tournament, in the locker
- 41:32Speaker 1: room going we basically we won't Purdue. That was it.
- 41:35Speaker 1: We can beat Purdue. That was on camera, but the
- 41:37Speaker 1: camera right there by him, he wasn't saying it into
- 41:39Speaker 1: the camera. It was like the office where he looks
- 41:40Speaker 1: at it goes, yeah, we won't Purdue. He's not Dwight
- 41:43Speaker 1: Shrewd doing the documentary, but he did say it and loud,
- 41:47Speaker 1: and then they freaking beat Purdue amazing, which cost me
- 41:49Speaker 1: two hundred fifty six dollars. Yeah. Yeah. How much did
- 41:52Speaker 1: you lose last year, Kevin, when you bought Purdue in
- 41:53Speaker 1: our little league? I think it was I probably put
- 41:56Speaker 1: three hundred totals. I think I think one eighty. Did
- 42:01Speaker 1: you make any money last year? Like sixty bucks? So?
- 42:04Speaker 1: But did you make money? So you lost two forty?
- 42:06Speaker 1: I think I lost two forty. I didn't do well
- 42:08Speaker 1: either because Kentucky got beat early and I spent a
- 42:10Speaker 1: bunch of money on them. This year, I have Arkansas left,
- 42:14Speaker 1: I have Texas, which I'm counting on, and then I
- 42:17Speaker 1: have Michigan State, which I think they they're not favorite,
- 42:21Speaker 1: but I think they can beat Kansas State. Yeah. So,
- 42:24Speaker 1: Odell Beckham says we mentioned this earlier. Odell Beckham says
- 42:27Speaker 1: he is not seeking twenty million dollars annually. I think
- 42:31Speaker 1: he was. He sure was. I think he was so
- 42:34Speaker 1: just looking back twenty nineteen seventy four catches for a
- 42:37Speaker 1: thousand yards four touchdowns twenty twenty with the Browns only
- 42:41Speaker 1: played seven games, and was that to hear him and
- 42:46Speaker 1: Baker got into it, and he put up the video
- 42:49Speaker 1: of Baker like not throwing him the ball. Then he
- 42:53Speaker 1: ended up going over to the Rams. I was I
- 42:55Speaker 1: think it was twenty one? Was that twenty one? Yeah? Okay,
- 42:58Speaker 1: so twenty one year he put up a video Baker
- 43:00Speaker 1: like missing him wide open because twenty twenty, Uh was
- 43:04Speaker 1: he hurt? Okay? Because he had to it A CL injuries. Yeah,
- 43:09Speaker 1: and so yeah, you can't give something with two A
- 43:11Speaker 1: cl injuries. Let's go to our guy here, Kevin, And
- 43:12Speaker 1: it was more about this tha, Come on, Kevin, Kevin,
- 43:14Speaker 1: anybody that's had two A CL injuries in three years
- 43:17Speaker 1: if they want, I don't know, five hundred dollars. What
- 43:22Speaker 1: is Odell thirty years old? Yeah? Yeah, he's probably thirsty
- 43:26Speaker 1: and thirty. We've seen with history you can recover from
- 43:29Speaker 1: one a CL but when you started getting on the
- 43:31Speaker 1: same Is it the same knee with Odell? That? I
- 43:34Speaker 1: don't know, but I feel like if it's not, though,
- 43:36Speaker 1: he just weaky ac yelly. Yeah you know that from
- 43:38Speaker 1: your dog. Yeah, he got tar one Tarren both. Yeah,
- 43:41Speaker 1: I was trying to think about a fair uh number
- 43:43Speaker 1: I would give Odell. I'd probably give him at his age,
- 43:46Speaker 1: like four million. Well, why he's not playing for you?
- 43:49Speaker 1: Is it better? Is it better if you rip both
- 43:51Speaker 1: of them? Or? Good questions? I mean good question because
- 43:55Speaker 1: I mean really I think, Uh, I don't know the
- 43:58Speaker 1: answer to that. As it the only dog dur in
- 44:00Speaker 1: the room, I'll say, no, it's not. Yeah, it's just
- 44:02Speaker 1: not good rip anything. You're a doctor of letters, Yeah,
- 44:04Speaker 1: but one of the ACL or three letters. Yes, so
- 44:08Speaker 1: I am a doctor of letters ACNL, and so I'm
- 44:11Speaker 1: gonna say it ain't good to rip it. So what
- 44:13Speaker 1: you got there? It looks like you towards the same one.
- 44:16Speaker 1: What does that say to you. I wouldn't touch him.
- 44:18Speaker 1: I just wouldn't, like you know, and a lot of
- 44:19Speaker 1: teams aren't. But he wants twenty million and he's wanted
- 44:22Speaker 1: it all guaranteed. Well, that didn't work. Remember he's trying
- 44:24Speaker 1: to latch onto a team for the playoffs. Last year,
- 44:26Speaker 1: the Cowboys a big role. Yeah, I know you worked
- 44:28Speaker 1: out with him, I think, but here's the thing, like, yeah,
- 44:30Speaker 1: you don't touch him, but what are you worried about
- 44:33Speaker 1: he's gonna get hurt again or he's not gonna be
- 44:34Speaker 1: as fast both. So just kind of like, that's why
- 44:38Speaker 1: I wouldn't guarantee the money. If let's say he wants
- 44:40Speaker 1: twenty million, Okay, we're gonna make you feel good. We're
- 44:43Speaker 1: gonna do a Daniel Jones type deal. We're gonna give
- 44:45Speaker 1: you a two year deal, and we're gonna guarantee you
- 44:49Speaker 1: in this two years fourteen million dollars. But if you
- 44:53Speaker 1: are able to play sixteen games or you're able to
- 44:57Speaker 1: get sixty five receptions, we're gonna incentivize that you can
- 45:01Speaker 1: actually make twenty million dollars each year. So your agent
- 45:04Speaker 1: can go out and go, hey, he got twenty million
- 45:06Speaker 1: bucks a year, like Daniel Jones agent forty million bucks
- 45:08Speaker 1: a year. That ain't really what happened. So that's the deal.
- 45:13Speaker 1: I'd probably give him twelve I'll not give him a crap.
- 45:19Speaker 1: This is what you would give him twelve years. I'd
- 45:21Speaker 1: probably give him twelve guaranteed. About I give him twenty
- 45:24Speaker 1: million guaranteed over two years, and so with that you
- 45:29Speaker 1: can even cut him the second year if you're like, well,
- 45:31Speaker 1: this isn't good. I don't think he's gonna really do
- 45:34Speaker 1: a one year deal. He could if they offer him
- 45:36Speaker 1: a bunch of if it's a bunch of guaranteed for
- 45:38Speaker 1: that one year deal, but I would just incentivize the
- 45:41Speaker 1: crap out of it and make it if. Or you
- 45:43Speaker 1: could do a second year where it's a one year
- 45:47Speaker 1: team option deal for a year two and if he
- 45:49Speaker 1: makes it all, if he's plays fifteen sixteen games, you
- 45:52Speaker 1: pick up the option and he gets all that twenty
- 45:54Speaker 1: million year two. But year one is twelve million with
- 45:57Speaker 1: eight million incentives, and if you can hit all those
- 46:00Speaker 1: endives or hit most of them games played receptions, it
- 46:02Speaker 1: rolls over to your two and you get your twenty million.
- 46:05Speaker 1: That's I would probably do something like that. I feel
- 46:07Speaker 1: like I want to make a bet with Bobby. I
- 46:08Speaker 1: don't want make a bet about O b J or
- 46:11Speaker 1: acl even though I'm a doctor of led tours. Over
- 46:14Speaker 1: under twelve million, what does he get guaranteed? I'm gonna
- 46:17Speaker 1: go under. For sure, I'm gonna go over just because
- 46:21Speaker 1: I'll be contrarian here to you. But I think it's
- 46:23Speaker 1: about that. I probably wouldn't bet in real life, but
- 46:25Speaker 1: I'm gonna go over I'm gonna go Yeah, I'm gonna
- 46:28Speaker 1: go over, just because I don't think he goes back.
- 46:31Speaker 1: I think it'll be embarrassing for him if he doesn't
- 46:33Speaker 1: need the money to go back and take nine million.
- 46:36Speaker 1: Oh yeah, that would be embarrassing because I don't see
- 46:38Speaker 1: him as guy's just dying to get back on the field,
- 46:40Speaker 1: and it's take geting back on the field. But I
- 46:41Speaker 1: don't know, I don't know. I'll hung out with him never,
- 46:43Speaker 1: you know. All right, Just to reminder, twenty five whistles

- 47:50Speaker 1: San Diego State. I think I was gonna just push
- 47:53Speaker 1: that and go Alabama minus seven, but I got four
- 47:56Speaker 1: money lines here. I didn't want to break it up.
- 47:57Speaker 1: I'm OCD about things looking the same. I need them
- 48:00Speaker 1: to be it like, it looks like a structure when
- 48:01Speaker 1: I look list them all. Here, Alabama money line, Tennessee
- 48:05Speaker 1: money line over FAU. Love that game. I love the
- 48:09Speaker 1: minus five point five. Maybe I bet that to the side,
- 48:12Speaker 1: but I'm putting that money line in the old pocket,
- 48:14Speaker 1: and I'm taking that pocket to smile bank. And finally,
- 48:18Speaker 1: and this is the one, this is the one I
- 48:22Speaker 1: really had to focus on. We head in to Vegas
- 48:24Speaker 1: for this one. I'm going to Vegas. Not maybe not
- 48:26Speaker 1: for this one. I'm going to Vegas. I'm betting it.
- 48:29Speaker 1: I'm bet on drift kings right now. Michigan State money line.
- 48:32Speaker 1: Oh there are a seven seed. That's right, Michigan State
- 48:35Speaker 1: money line versus Kansas State eight to the izo s
- 48:41Speaker 1: to the mezzo smiles, four of them. If you bet
- 48:46Speaker 1: all four money lines, which that's plus three three fifty
- 48:51Speaker 1: six for me, type in twenty just twenty dollars, we'll
- 48:55Speaker 1: give you ninety one thirty five smiles. Yeah. You can't
- 49:00Speaker 1: convert dollars with smiles. So you know, just just however
- 49:02Speaker 1: you want to interpret. What if you do one hundred Oh,
- 49:05Speaker 1: hold on a second, one hundred smile. Let me do
- 49:07Speaker 1: one hundred smiles. Oh, if you get one hundred smiles,
- 49:10Speaker 1: you will get four hundred and fifty six point seventy
- 49:12Speaker 1: five smiles. That's why I did. I like the point
- 49:14Speaker 1: seven five. It's like a crooked smile. That one hundreds
- 49:17Speaker 1: a big smile. Yeah, I get that book, get one hundred. Hey, Mike,
- 49:20Speaker 1: have we broken any rules yet? Good? So far? Good
- 49:23Speaker 1: smile bank even where the points not break the monitoring

- 49:44Speaker 1: to tails. Okay, quickly before we get to Aaron Torrez,
- 49:48Speaker 1: just say it, Just say it, Okay, Michigan State minus
- 49:50Speaker 1: two versus Kansas State. I got Michigan State minus two,
- 49:54Speaker 1: Eddie Kansas State, Kansas State. Oh a, you're taking the points.
- 49:59Speaker 1: He little boobis ne ancient points. I've never I have
- 50:02Speaker 1: not believed in Michigan State. They just proved me wrong.
- 50:04Speaker 1: He's ever. Let's put Kevin on a spot here too.
- 50:05Speaker 1: Kevin Michigan State minus two or Kansas State plus two
- 50:08Speaker 1: Kansas State oh man, I'm in the minority, and I'm
- 50:11Speaker 1: a big ten guy. I'm in the minority. Arkansas plus
- 50:16Speaker 1: three and a half or Yukon minus three and a half,
- 50:19Speaker 1: you're faking it because you need You kind of went
- 50:21Speaker 1: for bracket faking it. That doesn't mean I can't Arkansas
- 50:23Speaker 1: three and a half. You should hear what he's saying
- 50:25Speaker 1: when you're not around what I'm doing this podcast. Tell
- 50:28Speaker 1: me what season the hallways and Eddie's like, no, I
- 50:31Speaker 1: gotta fake it here, like, let's go Huskies. I heard him.
- 50:33Speaker 1: That's why wear yeah Arkansas, Eddie, go yeah, Arkansas three
- 50:38Speaker 1: and a half. With three and a half, I'd like
- 50:40Speaker 1: to hit it right there in that middle. Well, why
- 50:43Speaker 1: is that? You know, just Arkansas plus three and a half?
- 50:44Speaker 1: You want to hit it arks I'll lose by one
- 50:45Speaker 1: or two. Well, I'm saying that's a douche thing to do.
- 50:50Speaker 1: I'm just you won't even win your bracket for sure.
- 50:52Speaker 1: If you can wins the game, I'll get really close.
- 50:54Speaker 1: Still doesn't matter. You won't win win for sure, and
- 50:55Speaker 1: you're still and we know routing makes a difference. After that,
- 50:58Speaker 1: Alabama will be the only team I need to win it. All, okay,
- 51:01Speaker 1: that's it. You're and then we're smiling all the way
- 51:03Speaker 1: to the bank. You're a jerk, Kevin. I'm all about
- 51:05Speaker 1: aboard the must bus, Arkansas. You're taking a point of
- 51:09Speaker 1: money line. Wanted to win? Yeah, money line. I want
- 51:12Speaker 1: you to go to all the games, enjoy it going.
- 51:14Speaker 1: I want to hear the stories. You don't have a bracket,
- 51:17Speaker 1: Yeah I do, but it's I want him to thank you.
- 51:21Speaker 1: He cares about me more than thank you, Kevin. Arkansas
- 51:25Speaker 1: plus three and a half are Ukon minus three and
- 51:26Speaker 1: a half. I'm the black Chief. I'm gonna actually go Yukon. Okay,
- 51:29Speaker 1: get out of here. I read John had to get
- 51:31Speaker 1: out of wo wow. Uh. He goes to an Arkansas game,
- 51:33Speaker 1: He's talking that greatest in game experience ever. The spread
- 51:36Speaker 1: was even bigger. And then all of a sudden, Can
- 51:38Speaker 1: I give you a quick tidbit why I think Arkansas's
- 51:41Speaker 1: youth is gonna catch up? I could be a little
- 51:43Speaker 1: wrong on that. I think decision making and uh, I
- 51:47Speaker 1: felt like they got a little sloppy. They get still
- 51:49Speaker 1: got the w but we'll see. That's one thing he's
- 51:52Speaker 1: right about. We will see Florida Atlantic versus Tennessee Tennessee
- 51:58Speaker 1: minus five and a half. I'm rolled an old rock
- 52:02Speaker 1: get tarn five and a half? Yeah, yeah, I do too, Yeah, Kevin, Yeah, Kevin,
- 52:08Speaker 1: Bama's in the game. No Florida, Florida Tennessee and see
- 52:13Speaker 1: Oh got it? Sorry? Ut are your headphones tucked up? Yeah?
- 52:16Speaker 1: That's what you get. We send him a different feed
- 52:17Speaker 1: because he didn't pick our He was rude about it,
- 52:19Speaker 1: so we sent him a different show. He's listening to that.
- 52:21Speaker 1: You got Tennessee monus five. Yeah, I'll take Gonzaga versus
- 52:25Speaker 1: UCLA Ucla minus two one. I'm gonna go Gonzaga with
- 52:30Speaker 1: two points. I do, I'm gonna, I am. I'm gonna Gonzaga.
- 52:33Speaker 1: I just think they're just a sleeping, sleeping little giant,
- 52:36Speaker 1: always given any sort of look at they're good. Timmy.
- 52:39Speaker 1: You talk about somebody with experience. Fifty year old Timmy
- 52:42Speaker 1: retires like not just from basketball. He gets to retire
- 52:44Speaker 1: with pension as soon as his senior years over him. Yeah, Kevin,
- 52:48Speaker 1: I have UCLA winning, but Gonzaga covering. I just need
- 52:51Speaker 1: to know who you're betting. So Gonzaga plus two got it?
- 52:55Speaker 1: So you have Usaly winning by one. Yeah, the road
- 52:59Speaker 1: ends here for Zagat. I got UCLA minus two. Kevin
- 53:02Speaker 1: Zag's okay Friday quickly San Diego State versus Alabama, Alabama
- 53:07Speaker 1: seven point favorite. You either get seven or give the seven.
- 53:10Speaker 1: Kevin kick off Kevin Sandigo State to cover. They're gonna lose,
- 53:15Speaker 1: but they're clever, Eddie. We're all tied. Bama by like
- 53:17Speaker 1: probably eleven or twelve. Kevin clue Bama. Yeah, Bama by
- 53:21Speaker 1: seven two. I'd probably even flirt that line up to
- 53:24Speaker 1: like I would eight or nine totally because I'm feeling cocky. Yeah,
- 53:28Speaker 1: Miami and Houston Houston minus seven or Miami plus seven.
- 53:32Speaker 1: This is a tough one for me. Of them all,
- 53:33Speaker 1: I un listen. I'll probably miss a bunch of them,
- 53:35Speaker 1: but this one to me feels the weirdest to just
- 53:37Speaker 1: pick one. Going Kevin, Miami plus seven, Eddie, Yeah, I
- 53:40Speaker 1: think Houston wins, but I'm gonna go Miami plus. I'm
- 53:42Speaker 1: gonna go Minam plus seven two. Yeah, Kevin, I have
- 53:44Speaker 1: all my smiles on Houston, so I'm gonna go Houston.
- 53:47Speaker 1: They gotta win by eight. He bought them. I have
- 53:49Speaker 1: all my smiles on Houston. You're going Houston minu seven. Okay,
- 53:53Speaker 1: Princeton versus Creton. Crateton's a ten point favorite. Yeah, that's
- 53:58Speaker 1: a lot. I'm Creton. The road ends here for Princeton. Yeah,
- 54:01Speaker 1: they're gonna get beaton. Yeah, Crateon minus ten. I think
- 54:04Speaker 1: it's gonna be pretty ugly. Yeah, yeah, although Princeton has
- 54:06Speaker 1: looked real good. And my buddy that goes to Princeton
- 54:08Speaker 1: sent me a video of him shooting in a gym
- 54:11Speaker 1: going listen the twenty five whistles here, you guys, Hey, no, Prinston, Oh,
- 54:14Speaker 1: I was the one. You guys mostly me. He was
- 54:17Speaker 1: like Prinsident's buddy's awesome. And he goes and he was
- 54:20Speaker 1: a really good basketball player in high school and he
- 54:25Speaker 1: goes to the Duke He wanted the Duke camp where
- 54:27Speaker 1: you go and you play. Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, you
- 54:29Speaker 1: talked about that. He goes and shoots like hundreds of
- 54:31Speaker 1: balls every day now, just to get ready for it.
- 54:33Speaker 1: You can do that. I'm not gonna do it because
- 54:34Speaker 1: I don't think I can do it. Okay, I would
- 54:36Speaker 1: get there and embarrass myself and everybody else. No, you
- 54:38Speaker 1: don't know that I do. I played enough basketball to know.
- 54:43Speaker 1: I can be competitive, and I can be the fourth guy,
- 54:45Speaker 1: and I can play good defense. I can hustle. That's
- 54:47Speaker 1: all you're gonna get from me at this point. Otherwise
- 54:49Speaker 1: I'd be like, oh, yeah, you know, I go try
- 54:53Speaker 1: out finally Xavier in Texas Texas minus four Eddie, I'm
- 54:58Speaker 1: gonna go Xavier plus four. Eddie told us not to
- 55:02Speaker 1: bet Xavier on our suicide league. Oh by we get
- 55:03Speaker 1: he set that today. We're all together. Yes, we do
- 55:06Speaker 1: that at the end. I think we already didn't we
- 55:08Speaker 1: we did. We did for Thursday. We need Friday. Let's
- 55:10Speaker 1: check it. Okay, go ahead, Okay, Xavier, no tet Xavier
- 55:14Speaker 1: Pushvin Texas, Yeah, Texas minds for all. Right, there you go.
- 55:21Speaker 1: We're gonna go to Aaron Torres do too too, too, too,
- 55:23Speaker 1: too too. Aaron Torres works Fox Sports Radio. Aerontres Aaron
- 55:26Speaker 1: Torres Podcast. We talk about it. He really breaks it
- 55:29Speaker 1: down for us here. He is Aaron Torres. Aaron, what's up, buddy, Bobby,
- 55:32Speaker 1: what's going on? Man? How are you doing? Hey? Doing
- 55:34Speaker 1: pretty good? Before we get started here, you guys can
- 55:36Speaker 1: follow Aaron on Instagram at Aaron Torres Pod from Fox
- 55:40Speaker 1: Sports Radio the Aaron Torres podcast Riding for the Atlantic,
- 55:43Speaker 1: Aaron's on with us. First question, Aaron is Yukon how
- 55:46Speaker 1: much of a beast are they and how badly will
- 55:48Speaker 1: they just destroy Arkansas? I mean, Lucien, I wouldn't say that.
- 55:53Speaker 1: I wouldn't say that. You know, first of all, nobody
- 55:56Speaker 1: destroys coach must in the tournament. He's unbelievable. Um, And
- 56:00Speaker 1: I know how you know how much you love Arkansas. No, no, no, no, listen, listen.
- 56:06Speaker 1: This is a really good Yukon team. What I would
- 56:09Speaker 1: say is, you know, this is like, look, this is
- 56:11Speaker 1: a really good Ukon team. You know, I am a
- 56:14Speaker 1: Yukono lum. But in the preseason, you know, not preseason,
- 56:18Speaker 1: but the early out of conference portion of play, they
- 56:21Speaker 1: just destroyed everybody. I mean, they took care of business.
- 56:23Speaker 1: They beat Alabama buy double digits, they beat Iowa State,
- 56:25Speaker 1: they beat Michigan stage who's obviously the Sweet sixteen. And
- 56:28Speaker 1: then they hit, you know, a little bit of a
- 56:30Speaker 1: tough patch when league play starts, and I think sometimes
- 56:33Speaker 1: you know, league play people know you. You know, they
- 56:36Speaker 1: had a tough early start to the schedule. They had
- 56:38Speaker 1: to play at Davier right away, David's obviously this sweet
- 56:41Speaker 1: sixteen team market, et cetera. But they've played really well
- 56:45Speaker 1: probably the last five or six weeks, and so I
- 56:47Speaker 1: think this is a matchup between two elite coaches. There's
- 56:50Speaker 1: a leak talent on both sides of the floor. I'bnos
- 56:53Speaker 1: tell you straight up, I actually think this might be.
- 56:55Speaker 1: I actually think that the two games in the West
- 56:57Speaker 1: might be the two best games that we have all weekends.
- 57:00Speaker 1: So referring to UCLA Gonzaga, yeah, yeah, have Ucla that
- 57:03Speaker 1: you know, weeks ago, you know, arguably their best player
- 57:06Speaker 1: and not offensively been defensively, he was a beast. He's
- 57:10Speaker 1: injured out for the season, but it looks like they
- 57:11Speaker 1: really haven't missed a beat. How you feeling about this matchup?
- 57:15Speaker 1: I don't think it's really fascinating, you know what I
- 57:17Speaker 1: mean obviously somebody who loves this sport. You know, sometimes
- 57:20Speaker 1: I'm man enough to admit when I have no idea
- 57:24Speaker 1: how a game is going to go, you know. I
- 57:25Speaker 1: mean what's interesting about UCLA is you just said, Bobby,
- 57:28Speaker 1: you know, a really key player to what they do
- 57:31Speaker 1: and what put them in position to have a two
- 57:33Speaker 1: seat to begin with, is out for the year and
- 57:36Speaker 1: has been out since the Packwall tournament. Well, I go
- 57:39Speaker 1: to the packtwelve tournament. They probably should have beaten Arizona
- 57:42Speaker 1: to win the Pack Fwaelve tournament. And then really, I
- 57:44Speaker 1: don't want to say they cruised into this week sixteen
- 57:46Speaker 1: because they did struggle with Northwestern a little bit on Saturday.
- 57:49Speaker 1: That's a really good team. But at the same time,
- 57:52Speaker 1: you know this this Gonzaga team, you know it's it's Gonzaga.
- 57:56Speaker 1: So fascinating because it's one of those deals where it's like,
- 58:01Speaker 1: you know, they don't really have any pressure on them
- 58:03Speaker 1: for the first time in forever, and nobody expects them
- 58:05Speaker 1: to do much damage in this tournament. So that's one
- 58:08Speaker 1: where I'll be honest, you actually thought, like the Arkansas
- 58:10Speaker 1: you kind of game too, like I have no great
- 58:12Speaker 1: feel for how these games are going to go down.
- 58:14Speaker 1: I'm just excited to consume. I'm excited to watch it.
- 58:17Speaker 1: You know what I'm curious about because I know you
- 58:18Speaker 1: wrote the one and done, which was to look at
- 58:21Speaker 1: John Calipari in the twenty ten Kentucky Wildcat team. Just
- 58:24Speaker 1: knowing Calipari at least about what he does and how
- 58:27Speaker 1: he does it, probably a little more than I do,
- 58:29Speaker 1: even though you know, I'm a massive college basketball fan
- 58:32Speaker 1: and have you know, UK friends and fans in my life.
- 58:36Speaker 1: John Calipari, Kentucky is out running its course at this point.
- 58:39Speaker 1: It's such a great you know, it's the question everybody
- 58:41Speaker 1: in college basketball is asking. And you know, I think
- 58:44Speaker 1: there's a few things is well, And first of all,
- 58:47Speaker 1: it's a tournament based sport, right and so you know,
- 58:51Speaker 1: I'm somebody personally that's been critical of a Matt Painter
- 58:53Speaker 1: at Purdue. I've been critical of a Rick Barnes at Tennessee.
- 58:56Speaker 1: So I have to be critical of John Caliparia is
- 58:58Speaker 1: the highest staid coach in college fastball. It's now since
- 59:01Speaker 1: twenty nineteen that he has not made the second weekend,
- 59:05Speaker 1: and obviously twenty fifteen now, so that's eight full years
- 59:08Speaker 1: since he'd made a Final four as the highest faid
- 59:10Speaker 1: coach in the sport. You know. At the same time,
- 59:12Speaker 1: I do think that narrative is probably a little bit
- 59:16Speaker 1: unspair because in twenty twenty he had a team good
- 59:19Speaker 1: enough to win the national championship. Obviously there's no tournament.
- 59:22Speaker 1: Last year he has Kentucky is a two seed so
- 59:25Speaker 1: it's not as though they were a colossal failure, but
- 59:27Speaker 1: they had a colossal letdown in the NCAA tournament, and
- 59:30Speaker 1: then this year. You know, listen, we can pick apart
- 59:33Speaker 1: what happened on Sunday against Kansas State. They had the
- 59:36Speaker 1: lead with under four minutes to go and couldn't hold on.
- 59:39Speaker 1: And so you know, this is what makes the tournament great.
- 59:42Speaker 1: It's one and done, you go home. And I don't
- 59:44Speaker 1: think you can deny that the results are not what
- 59:48Speaker 1: they are expected to be, not just because it's Kentucky,
- 59:51Speaker 1: but because it's Kentucky with a prominent coach who has
- 59:53Speaker 1: proven the ability to do this before. But then on
- 59:56Speaker 1: the flip side again, you're paid eight million dollars. This
- 59:59Speaker 1: is a results in business. You know, if you want
- 1:00:01Speaker 1: to coach for free in hand out orange slices at halftime,
- 1:00:03Speaker 1: you could go do that and get a lot less
- 1:00:05Speaker 1: money and the results will matter as much. So it's
- 1:00:07Speaker 1: one of those I actually understand both sides of the
- 1:00:11Speaker 1: Kentucky fan base. Those who have said it has definitively
- 1:00:13Speaker 1: run its course, it's time to start over, and those
- 1:00:16Speaker 1: that have said those that remember, by the way, Bobby
- 1:00:18Speaker 1: and I know you remember as well, what was it
- 1:00:20Speaker 1: like before Calipari missing the NCAA tournament, Ni's early exit.
- 1:00:25Speaker 1: It can be worse, but I also understand those that
- 1:00:28Speaker 1: expect it to be better, if that makes sense. I
- 1:00:30Speaker 1: was watching Califari do a press conference. He's talking about
- 1:00:32Speaker 1: the recruiting class coming in, which is amazing. Probably number
- 1:00:34Speaker 1: one two seven footers could start next year. But it
- 1:00:37Speaker 1: feels like this is what has said every single year,
- 1:00:41Speaker 1: where they cantinue to a top two, top number one
- 1:00:45Speaker 1: class and they're like, yeah, it didn't work out this year,
- 1:00:48Speaker 1: but boyd, we got it loaded up for next year.
- 1:00:50Speaker 1: Doesn't it feel like it's the same thing every single year?
- 1:00:54Speaker 1: You know, I have a buddy in sports media, and
- 1:00:56Speaker 1: I hope he's not a competitor of yours because I'm
- 1:00:57Speaker 1: going to drop his name, and I hope does it
- 1:00:59Speaker 1: can roughly one feathers, But Colin Cowherd's a friend of
- 1:01:02Speaker 1: mine and four years he has called John Calipari John Caliponsi,
- 1:01:06Speaker 1: And basically the argument is it's this Ponzi scheme of
- 1:01:10Speaker 1: you know, the fans get mad, but then you sell him.
- 1:01:13Speaker 1: Wait till next year when we get this recruiting class
- 1:01:15Speaker 1: in wait till next year, and it's just this never
- 1:01:17Speaker 1: ending cycle. And I think what Calipari has proven is
- 1:01:20Speaker 1: as long as he is there, he's going to have
- 1:01:23Speaker 1: a team that's good enough to win it. And so again,
- 1:01:26Speaker 1: you know, you go back to, you know, like like,
- 1:01:29Speaker 1: let's just say, hypothetically, there was a way for Kentucky
- 1:01:31Speaker 1: to force him out, and there is it right now
- 1:01:33Speaker 1: with this contract. Somebody would hire him and he would
- 1:01:36Speaker 1: go there, and next year they would have a team
- 1:01:38Speaker 1: that's good enough to win the national championship. And so
- 1:01:41Speaker 1: it's just this incredible kind of push pull of you know,
- 1:01:44Speaker 1: if you're Kentucky, like I think, in the perfect world, Kentucky,
- 1:01:47Speaker 1: in the next two or three years, they go on
- 1:01:49Speaker 1: one more great run, maybe with that recruiting class that
- 1:01:51Speaker 1: you just referenced Bobby, and Caliperry realizes at the end
- 1:01:56Speaker 1: and he retires. Now, I think Caliperry's too stubborn to
- 1:01:59Speaker 1: do that, to be perfectly honest, But you know, that's
- 1:02:02Speaker 1: what you would hope happen if you're a Kentucky fan.
- 1:02:05Speaker 1: But I don't see it happening. And so again, whether
- 1:02:08Speaker 1: it's you force him out, whether it's the under It's
- 1:02:10Speaker 1: just it's a very complicated like. I guess the best
- 1:02:13Speaker 1: way I could put it, Bobby is it's a very complicated,
- 1:02:18Speaker 1: very complicated situation. And there's no like I think in
- 1:02:21Speaker 1: society now we want a black white Yes, no, this
- 1:02:24Speaker 1: is this, this is that, And it's kind of a
- 1:02:27Speaker 1: fluid thing. Right. There's no definitive he's definitively fastest, prim
- 1:02:30Speaker 1: he's got to go. It's no definitively he's at the
- 1:02:33Speaker 1: top of his game. It's somewhere in that gray area,
- 1:02:36Speaker 1: which makes it fascinating. But yes, to your point, Bobby,
- 1:02:39Speaker 1: and I think it's a great one. Is the idea
- 1:02:42Speaker 1: that I do think it has come to a point
- 1:02:44Speaker 1: where Kentucky fans are tired of hearing about how great
- 1:02:46Speaker 1: the recruiting class is. They want to see the actual
- 1:02:49Speaker 1: results deep into March on the actual basketball court. I
- 1:02:53Speaker 1: was watching a Nick Saban press conference yesterday, and you know,
- 1:02:55Speaker 1: they a player they're gonna booted off the team for
- 1:02:57Speaker 1: a little babies go on like one hundred and fifty
- 1:02:59Speaker 1: miles an hour or whatever. Nick Saban said on from
- 1:03:01Speaker 1: the podium. There's no such thing as wrong, wrong place,
- 1:03:04Speaker 1: wrong time, you know, referring to Brandon Miller, who plays
- 1:03:08Speaker 1: for the Alabama basketball team, And that's what Nadots said
- 1:03:10Speaker 1: about Brandon Miller. Hi has the wrong place at the
- 1:03:12Speaker 1: wrong time. I mean, Saban right down the hall, guy
- 1:03:14Speaker 1: working over there. It's like, there's no such thing as
- 1:03:16Speaker 1: wrong place as the wrong time. Like we actually, you know,
- 1:03:19Speaker 1: our guys they have potential, they have to live up too,
- 1:03:23Speaker 1: and if they don't. So when he says that, I mean,
- 1:03:26Speaker 1: do you think that Nadots in this program are feeling
- 1:03:28Speaker 1: any more pressure right now, this deep in the tournament
- 1:03:31Speaker 1: or are they just doing their thing and they'll deal
- 1:03:32Speaker 1: with it when it's over. You know, first off, if
- 1:03:35Speaker 1: you believe the Alabama spin, it was a total coincidence
- 1:03:39Speaker 1: that Nick Saban in a pre prepared statement. I think
- 1:03:42Speaker 1: it's the part that you know nobody's talking about, is
- 1:03:44Speaker 1: this wasn't He was asked about the situation at a
- 1:03:47Speaker 1: press conference that he comic off top of the head,
- 1:03:49Speaker 1: he had a pre prepared statement to lead the press conference.
- 1:03:52Speaker 1: And then oh, by the way, Nick Saban is one
- 1:03:55Speaker 1: of the great coaches I've ever seen at using the
- 1:03:58Speaker 1: media to deliver a message. So I am with you
- 1:04:01Speaker 1: Alabama could tell us whatever they want. I do not
- 1:04:03Speaker 1: believe in any way, shape or form that it was
- 1:04:05Speaker 1: coincidental that he used that exact term. But I bring
- 1:04:09Speaker 1: it up to say, you know, on the court, Bobby,
- 1:04:11Speaker 1: I gotta be honest. I thought it would impact them
- 1:04:14Speaker 1: by now, but it hasn't seemed to impact them all
- 1:04:17Speaker 1: the off the court distractions, I will say, you know
- 1:04:20Speaker 1: they're going to have. Although the region by numbers and
- 1:04:24Speaker 1: by seating doesn't look great on paper, that San Diego
- 1:04:27Speaker 1: State team they are going to play is a real
- 1:04:29Speaker 1: team that Tomorrow night or Friday night, excuse me. They're
- 1:04:32Speaker 1: great defensively, and I think that's going to be one
- 1:04:34Speaker 1: of the tougher matchups that Alabama has. And then even
- 1:04:37Speaker 1: if they survived that, I do think Creighton, which was
- 1:04:39Speaker 1: a preseason top ten team, could give them fifth as well.
- 1:04:42Speaker 1: So you know, I think again, it's kind of a
- 1:04:44Speaker 1: fluid situation where putting aside what clearly happened in that
- 1:04:48Speaker 1: tuscaloosive community and putting aside the conversation of whether this
- 1:04:51Speaker 1: kid should be playing at all, Alabama has decided they
- 1:04:54Speaker 1: are playing him. I think they've actually done a pretty
- 1:04:57Speaker 1: good job on the court of blocking out the noise.
- 1:05:00Speaker 1: You wonder if the stage gets bigger as more media
- 1:05:02Speaker 1: shows up all of those things, you do wonder if
- 1:05:05Speaker 1: at some point is to start to affect him on
- 1:05:07Speaker 1: the court. I got two final things to ask you here.
- 1:05:09Speaker 1: I want to talk about Tennessee for a second. I've
- 1:05:12Speaker 1: for years talked about Rick Barnes when he was a
- 1:05:14Speaker 1: Texas and then at Tennessee He's gonna let you down
- 1:05:17Speaker 1: at some point. That has just kind of been his
- 1:05:19Speaker 1: calling card. I think he's a great coach. I think
- 1:05:21Speaker 1: it's a really good dude, but known for choking. And
- 1:05:26Speaker 1: so here they are sweet sixteen playing a team they
- 1:05:28Speaker 1: should be Florida Atlantic or if you listen to this afterward,
- 1:05:30Speaker 1: if they win, you know they'll be playing the winner
- 1:05:32Speaker 1: of the U Kansas State Michigan State game. But Rick
- 1:05:35Speaker 1: Barnes this season has that looked a bit different than
- 1:05:38Speaker 1: Rick Barnes an the other season? And are you expecting
- 1:05:40Speaker 1: one of these Barnes collapses. It's really funny, you know,
- 1:05:43Speaker 1: in all of my coverage of all of this, I
- 1:05:47Speaker 1: have not once said talked about, you know, an advantageous
- 1:05:51Speaker 1: path for Tennessee or anything like that, because I'm enough
- 1:05:54Speaker 1: of But his story is to know that, you know,
- 1:05:56Speaker 1: Tennessee basketball is probably going to let you down at
- 1:05:59Speaker 1: some point. And so I bring all this up to
- 1:06:02Speaker 1: just say, you know, when I look at the situation
- 1:06:04Speaker 1: with Tennessee, I'll say this, And I've been pretty consistent
- 1:06:07Speaker 1: with this even before this run. I think there have
- 1:06:09Speaker 1: been plenty of years where the criticism of Rick Barnes
- 1:06:13Speaker 1: is justified. This year, they have dealt with a ton
- 1:06:16Speaker 1: of injuries. Their best players have been in and out
- 1:06:18Speaker 1: of the lineup all year. And I don't want to
- 1:06:21Speaker 1: say it's been like an elite coaching job that we're
- 1:06:23Speaker 1: gonna be talking about fifty years from now, we're gonna
- 1:06:25Speaker 1: be telling our great kids about or anything. But like
- 1:06:27Speaker 1: I do think there is something to the fact that
- 1:06:31Speaker 1: I think he's done a good job in this particular
- 1:06:34Speaker 1: season given the obstacles that they've had to overcome. Now,
- 1:06:38Speaker 1: with that said, you lose to Florida Atlantic on you
- 1:06:41Speaker 1: know tomorrow night, none of it will matter. None of
- 1:06:44Speaker 1: it will matter, and none of it will be remembered
- 1:06:45Speaker 1: and nobody will care about injuries. It's Florida Atlantic. You're Tennessee,
- 1:06:48Speaker 1: You're from the SEC they're from Conference USA, this is
- 1:06:51Speaker 1: a game they're supposed to win. So again, Bobby, I'll
- 1:06:55Speaker 1: be honest, I feel like I'm just giving you, you know,
- 1:06:57Speaker 1: two sided answers. Nothing is a definitive yes or no.
- 1:07:00Speaker 1: Hot take, Like I think he's done a good job.
- 1:07:03Speaker 1: I don't think I think he's done a good job
- 1:07:05Speaker 1: this year. All things considered, I don't think any of
- 1:07:07Speaker 1: it will matter or any of it will be remembered
- 1:07:09Speaker 1: if you lose a Sweet sixteen game the floor at
- 1:07:11Speaker 1: Lanta tomorrow night. I agree with that final. As Princeton
- 1:07:14Speaker 1: in a fifteen seed, it's in Creton's tough. I think
- 1:07:17Speaker 1: Creton's probably a little underseated with how good they have been,
- 1:07:21Speaker 1: especially in the tournament. They've looked good. They're a ten
- 1:07:22Speaker 1: point favorite of a Princeton. Anyway, Princeton pulls this out. Yeah,
- 1:07:25Speaker 1: I mean, listen, I think there's definitely a way, um
- 1:07:29Speaker 1: because they'd being two good teams to get here. And
- 1:07:31Speaker 1: I think the Missouri game, to me was even more
- 1:07:33Speaker 1: telling because Arizona had been kind of up and down
- 1:07:36Speaker 1: all year. They played, you know, they played up to
- 1:07:38Speaker 1: their competition against the league teams, down to the competition
- 1:07:41Speaker 1: when they were playing teams that they thought were inferior.
- 1:07:44Speaker 1: But the Missouri game, Missouri was you know, you're an
- 1:07:47Speaker 1: SEC guy was pretty consistent all year long, and so
- 1:07:51Speaker 1: I just bring it up because I thought that that
- 1:07:53Speaker 1: performance was actually maybe a little bit more impressive than
- 1:07:56Speaker 1: you know that, than the other one. But I I
- 1:07:59Speaker 1: also do there is something to the adage that in general,
- 1:08:03Speaker 1: you know, when a team has four or five days
- 1:08:05Speaker 1: to prepare for you, you know you're not going to
- 1:08:07Speaker 1: sneak up on them like in the first round. You
- 1:08:09Speaker 1: don't have a short turnaround like in the second round
- 1:08:11Speaker 1: when you have those four or five days where the
- 1:08:13Speaker 1: coach to say, hey, you just saw what they did
- 1:08:15Speaker 1: to Arizona, you saw what they did in Missouri. Don't
- 1:08:17Speaker 1: do it to you if you're not ready. I tend
- 1:08:19Speaker 1: to think Craigan will come out and take care of
- 1:08:21Speaker 1: business tomorrow. But then again, he used it the analogy
- 1:08:24Speaker 1: from last year with Saint Peter's You know, Perdu had
- 1:08:26Speaker 1: a week to prepare for him, and Saint Peter still
- 1:08:28Speaker 1: beat him to go to win a lead eight. So
- 1:08:30Speaker 1: I'm fascinated. This is another one that I'm super intrigued by.
- 1:08:33Speaker 1: But I do think the road for Princeton probably ends
- 1:08:35Speaker 1: tomorrow night or front in it. Yeah. Ruable the host
- 1:08:38Speaker 1: of the Aaron Torres podcast, to host on Fox Sports
- 1:08:40Speaker 1: Radio every Saturday night. And last last question, Arkansas, and
- 1:08:46Speaker 1: you come now you con minus three and a half?
- 1:08:48Speaker 1: Go ahead? Who do you got? I'm telling you, I
- 1:08:53Speaker 1: don't know how I feel about this game, because the
- 1:08:55Speaker 1: thing is they played such similar styles. They just they
- 1:08:59Speaker 1: want to bully you. They want to beat you up.
- 1:09:00Speaker 1: They're both super big, super athletic um you know, and
- 1:09:05Speaker 1: they both have real deficiencies too. Ark pinsall as a
- 1:09:07Speaker 1: shoots the ball well. I think Yukon has has good shooting,
- 1:09:11Speaker 1: but sometimes the point guard plays a little bit iffy.
- 1:09:13Speaker 1: And they have this wing named Andre Jackson who's really talented,
- 1:09:16Speaker 1: but he goes through offensive struggles. And so, you know,
- 1:09:21Speaker 1: I don't know what to say. I bet your money.
- 1:09:23Speaker 1: I'm fixing on one hundred dollars. You have a fiction
- 1:09:25Speaker 1: on one hundred dollars. Are you betting it on Yukon
- 1:09:27Speaker 1: minus three and a half or are you taking Arkansas
- 1:09:29Speaker 1: on the points? All right? I mean either way, I'm
- 1:09:30Speaker 1: scrue because you either hate me hates me. So it's
- 1:09:35Speaker 1: like I will say, I've no coach Mustady backs to
- 1:09:37Speaker 1: the Novata days. I think he might be the best
- 1:09:39Speaker 1: tournament coach going. You give him four days to prepare.
- 1:09:42Speaker 1: I'll tell you what I will think Arkansas plus the
- 1:09:44Speaker 1: point and leave it very vague who I'm picking to
- 1:09:47Speaker 1: win this game? How does that soundbout? Don't sound very vague,
- 1:09:49Speaker 1: but I like it all right? There is you guys.
- 1:09:50Speaker 1: Follow him on Instagram at Aaron Torres Pod, the Eron
- 1:09:54Speaker 1: Torres Podcast, and again he's a hosting Fox Sports Radio Aeron.
- 1:09:58Speaker 1: Thank you for your time, buddy, hope you're good, No,
- 1:10:00Speaker 1: thank you. Enjoyed the game in a while. I wish
- 1:10:01Speaker 1: I could be there. I should be, but I can't be, buddy,
- 1:10:04Speaker 1: See you later. Okay, thanks to Aaron. Appreciate that final thoughts.
- 1:10:10Speaker 1: Let's go over to Eddie. Eddie your final thought. The
- 1:10:14Speaker 1: Cowboys picked up Ronald Jones junior, which is like, man,
- 1:10:19Speaker 1: I don't know how to feel about that. I kind
- 1:10:21Speaker 1: of wanted to, you know, a big goal line back,
- 1:10:24Speaker 1: and when I saw it come down, I was just
- 1:10:26Speaker 1: a little like, huh. It's almost like, do you remember
- 1:10:28Speaker 1: that image of when the Giants drafted Daniel Jones and
- 1:10:31Speaker 1: they go to the fans and theyre was like, huh,
- 1:10:33Speaker 1: like what that's how I felt like, not sad or mad,
- 1:10:37Speaker 1: just a little confused. Really, why do you think? Why
- 1:10:41Speaker 1: do you think that signing is weird? I just I
- 1:10:43Speaker 1: wanted someone with a little more problem, someone that's had
- 1:10:46Speaker 1: like a good year in the last couple of years,
- 1:10:47Speaker 1: like Ronald. I don't know what he's been doing. Who
- 1:10:50Speaker 1: is he with? Well, he got released by Tampa last
- 1:10:52Speaker 1: year or traded to the Chiefs. You go to the Chiefs.
- 1:10:54Speaker 1: I didn't see him play at all for the chief
- 1:10:56Speaker 1: But you're right, you didn't see him play at all. Yeah,
- 1:10:58Speaker 1: So I don't know. That's just kind of how I
- 1:11:00Speaker 1: They also could draft bejan right, don't don't forget that
- 1:11:03Speaker 1: that might be their play too, is to That could
- 1:11:05Speaker 1: be cool. So they're just getting him as an insurance policy,
- 1:11:08Speaker 1: so that could be the deal. Just like that. You
- 1:11:10Speaker 1: made me feel better, thank you. But I'm not saying
- 1:11:12Speaker 1: for sure. I'm just saying they could be waiting. But
- 1:11:13Speaker 1: now that I know that that's an option, Okay, you
- 1:11:15Speaker 1: make me feel better. Kickoff, Kevin, go ahead. Mine is
- 1:11:17Speaker 1: going to be the World Baseball Classic. I don't know
- 1:11:19Speaker 1: if you guys watched any of it. I watched a
- 1:11:21Speaker 1: few games. In that final game, I watched the entire thing.
- 1:11:23Speaker 1: Japan US came down to the last at bat Mike
- 1:11:27Speaker 1: t Show. Yeah, it was awesome, and I wasn't even
- 1:11:30Speaker 1: mad that US lost because the game was so great.
- 1:11:32Speaker 1: It wasn't even great. That's a great point the US.
- 1:11:35Speaker 1: I do. I love the US, but I felt like weird.
- 1:11:37Speaker 1: I just that it didn't seem like a real I'm
- 1:11:39Speaker 1: gonna be honest with you, the World Baseball Classic. It's
- 1:11:42Speaker 1: like American legion ball right right. You know, there's no
- 1:11:45Speaker 1: reason for me to get into it. But I did enjoy.
- 1:11:47Speaker 1: But yeah, I was filming the same. I was like,
- 1:11:49Speaker 1: I'm just appreciative of a good game. Yeah, it was cool.
- 1:11:51Speaker 1: They do the clock and all that. No, okay, no no,
- 1:11:54Speaker 1: and they're making other little clock changes now to make
- 1:11:57Speaker 1: sure that they don't take advantage because they need to
- 1:11:59Speaker 1: make a new rule. Body's gonna find ways to cheat
- 1:12:01Speaker 1: the rules. So they just did a memo going, here's
- 1:12:02Speaker 1: some other little changes. Yeah. Um, well, my final thoughts
- 1:12:06Speaker 1: was going to be about US three being on a
- 1:12:07Speaker 1: team in the suicide pool and Eddie every pick that
- 1:12:09Speaker 1: he gives us a drawl. It was twice, it was two.
- 1:12:12Speaker 1: We were picking our teams. We're like, okay, we gotta
- 1:12:14Speaker 1: pick one of the remaining teams left. And so I
- 1:12:17Speaker 1: was like, I like Xavier, and Eddie I just said
- 1:12:18Speaker 1: this last time. Eddie's like, I don't like Xavier, and
- 1:12:20Speaker 1: if we all don't agree, we move on. They're like, okay,
- 1:12:22Speaker 1: well that's my first pick, and Eddie goes I think
- 1:12:24Speaker 1: we should go with Baylor and I'm like, I don't
- 1:12:27Speaker 1: think it's Baylor, and then Baylor loses. So Xavier wins
- 1:12:30Speaker 1: and Baylor loses. I think my other one was Marquette,
- 1:12:32Speaker 1: and that's right, Marquette Yeast did. So here are suicide
- 1:12:37Speaker 1: picks for this week. I think we're all going to
- 1:12:39Speaker 1: agree on this one without even that's trouble though. You
- 1:12:42Speaker 1: think if we all agree immediately, that's like when Vegas
- 1:12:45Speaker 1: goes eighty seven percent, that team always loses. So here's
- 1:12:49Speaker 1: who we have left. Tennessee, Michigan State in UCLA, Kansas State, Arkansas,
- 1:12:55Speaker 1: and Florida Atlantic. And we have to pick one of
- 1:12:57Speaker 1: those teams to win. If they win, we stay alive.
- 1:12:59Speaker 1: We have picked Tennessee and we're feeling still feeling good
- 1:13:03Speaker 1: about that. Yeah, bou, Yeah, I think it's the option
- 1:13:08Speaker 1: of those, And it leaves us with if we win,
- 1:13:12Speaker 1: it leaves us with UCLA, which they're going to play
- 1:13:16Speaker 1: the Yukon and Arkansas winner. Yeah, it leads us with
- 1:13:21Speaker 1: Michigan State or Kansas State, one of them will move
- 1:13:24Speaker 1: through as well. So that leaves us another team that
- 1:13:28Speaker 1: we kind of need Arkansas to win in this. So
- 1:13:31Speaker 1: should we just go hey, let's should we just go
- 1:13:33Speaker 1: for it? No? No, no, no, no, I'm not saying
- 1:13:36Speaker 1: go for it here. I'm saying you are like I'm
- 1:13:37Speaker 1: mister Yukon, but I'm saying we in this. I know
- 1:13:40Speaker 1: you have your bracket, but in this there's like one
- 1:13:41Speaker 1: hundred thousand dollars up here. I know, I get a
- 1:13:44Speaker 1: mini vanage. We kind of need Arkansas to win here
- 1:13:46Speaker 1: because you kind of be eliminated. But if they lose,
- 1:13:50Speaker 1: a lot of these teams are gonna be gone, right
- 1:13:51Speaker 1: like people that are we're playing against. So Eddiet's up
- 1:13:54Speaker 1: to you. Whoever you want to win, who are you
- 1:13:55Speaker 1: root for in your heart? It's gonna be who wins.
- 1:13:57Speaker 1: I mean, I did say last time against Kansas. All like,
- 1:13:59Speaker 1: dupeould we just go Arkansas? And you get like he's drunk. No,
- 1:14:02Speaker 1: I wasn't drink at that point. We didn't need to
- 1:14:03Speaker 1: go Arkansas and you were drunk. No, I wasn't, because
- 1:14:06Speaker 1: immediately if we dropped ten, you'd be texting it. Oh God,
- 1:14:10Speaker 1: So here we go. I'm gonna let's do the next day.
- 1:14:13Speaker 1: I got together and then I will tell you how
- 1:14:15Speaker 1: many people was left. Our options are Creton, Bama, Houston,
- 1:14:22Speaker 1: and Texas, also Xavier, Miami, Florida, and Princeton left. Now
- 1:14:28Speaker 1: we're gonna take Princeton off the table, Miami off the table,
- 1:14:32Speaker 1: Xavier off the table, and with that, we're taking Texas
- 1:14:34Speaker 1: off the table too, because we'll just take the winner
- 1:14:36Speaker 1: of that game in the next week we survive. That
- 1:14:38Speaker 1: leaves Creton. Who's a ten point favorite, right, Bama or Houston?
- 1:14:45Speaker 1: Not Bama not yet? Okay, So we're gonna go Creton,
- 1:14:48Speaker 1: yep so so or Houston. I mean, I feel I
- 1:14:52Speaker 1: feel like, just for conversation, I feel like Houston could
- 1:14:57Speaker 1: be a good pick. I think they're gonna roll over
- 1:15:00Speaker 1: Miami and and then what's their next match, Texas? Yeah? See,
- 1:15:05Speaker 1: I think Texas could beat them. I think Texas will
- 1:15:07Speaker 1: beat them. So this is our only change. If Creton
- 1:15:10Speaker 1: wins this, they play the San Diego State. The same
- 1:15:13Speaker 1: thing was to Creton though, Yeah they're gonna play. I
- 1:15:15Speaker 1: think we go at the game. Yeah, okay, I like it. Yeah,
- 1:15:18Speaker 1: so we'll go Creton. Edie just always wants I do
- 1:15:21Speaker 1: want to talk like a group. You make a dumber No,
- 1:15:24Speaker 1: it's not true. That's not true. And also to like
- 1:15:26Speaker 1: through texts, it sounds like I'm arguing with you guys,
- 1:15:28Speaker 1: where I'm really just like, Hey, what are you guys
- 1:15:30Speaker 1: gonna arguing? You're like, I think we should go with Marquette. No, no, no,
- 1:15:32Speaker 1: that's not I said any sort of miscommunication. You said
- 1:15:36Speaker 1: who are you? Who do you like? And I said
- 1:15:37Speaker 1: I like Marquette And I said I don't in that
- 1:15:40Speaker 1: tone too, like I like Marquette. No, I was not
- 1:15:42Speaker 1: the tone. And then they got a little pissy about us.
- 1:15:45Speaker 1: All right, so we're going to Creton. Let's go. Okay,
- 1:15:47Speaker 1: do we want to know how many people are left
- 1:15:48Speaker 1: in this thing? Yes, dude, this is some big money, Kevin,
- 1:15:52Speaker 1: So here we go. It started off with fifteen hundred
- 1:15:55Speaker 1: people there are one hundred and eighty six left. Oh
- 1:15:58Speaker 1: my goodness. And you don't think this is going to
- 1:16:01Speaker 1: go down to the final four? Well, yeah, probably, yeah,
- 1:16:05Speaker 1: I think it will do. Might go down to the
- 1:16:06Speaker 1: championship possibly, and if you don't have any teams left.
- 1:16:09Speaker 1: But my point is I think if anybody gets to that,
- 1:16:11Speaker 1: they'll they'll go, well, let's just chop it up. Might
- 1:16:14Speaker 1: chop it up. I won't get the minivan. Yeah, well
- 1:16:16Speaker 1: if I can put money down in the minivan. But man,
- 1:16:19Speaker 1: the minivan. We're not holding out for you to get
- 1:16:20Speaker 1: a freaking minivana. How much is a minivan forty grand?
- 1:16:23Speaker 1: So that would mean we need one hundred and twenty
- 1:16:25Speaker 1: grand for us to win for you to get that minivan.
- 1:16:27Speaker 1: That ain't happen it. Yeah. Man, Hey, Kevin, what'd you
- 1:16:34Speaker 1: think about hanging out for the show? I was about
- 1:16:36Speaker 1: to say, I appreciate you having me awesome. I love it,

- 1:16:53Speaker 1: that clueman in the back of the truck. It says, hashtag,

- 1:17:00Speaker 1: you've been clued dirty? Huh, you've been clued. I was
