Transcript
- 0:00SPEAKER_00: Why is Jesus calling women to the mic?
- 0:03SPEAKER_00: That's the question.
- 0:05SPEAKER_00: Hey, I'm Teresa Croft with this Tech No More Voices podcast.
- 0:08SPEAKER_00: I help Christian business women stop overthinking and finally launching their podcast from the overflow of their relationship with God alongside two more AI tools.
- 0:19SPEAKER_00: Now, so I'm in a series, and I really believe this is for you.
- 0:24SPEAKER_00: Why is Jesus calling women to the mic?
- 0:28SPEAKER_00: So today kicks off a three-part series, Why Jesus is calling women to the mic, that I believe is going to shift something in your spirit.
- 0:36SPEAKER_00: I pray so.
- 0:38SPEAKER_00: In part one, we're going to look at this the prophetic call to speak, why now matters.
- 0:44SPEAKER_00: So if you've been feeling the tug, you know, that voice saying, you really need to do a podcast.
- 0:50SPEAKER_00: The holy nudge, open your mouth, share your story, start that podcast, but maybe tech overwhelm, or what do I say, is stopping you.
- 1:00SPEAKER_00: Well, let's look at that.
- 1:01SPEAKER_00: I believe today has a prophetic moment to it.
- 1:06SPEAKER_00: We are living in a divine window of time.
- 1:09SPEAKER_00: People are stopped watching the news on TV and they're starting to listen to podcasts.
- 1:15SPEAKER_00: Podcasting is growing.
- 1:17SPEAKER_00: Christian podcast is growing by 40%, they say, right now.
- 1:21SPEAKER_00: But anyway, you can feel it in the culture, in the church, even.
- 1:26SPEAKER_00: The conversations that are playing out.
- 1:29SPEAKER_00: And some of them are really rough.
- 1:32SPEAKER_00: Someone needs hope in the midst, maybe, of a story about a prophet or evangelist.
- 1:38SPEAKER_00: They need a story in the midst of the news, in the midst of the after effects of cacophony with the Charlie Kirk murder.
- 1:46SPEAKER_00: God is raising up daughters, though, with a fire in their bones and truth on their tongues.
- 1:53SPEAKER_00: That's the important piece part.
- 1:55SPEAKER_00: And podcasting, it's just not a marketing strategy.
- 1:58SPEAKER_00: It's a good marketing strategy, but it's not just meant for marketing.
- 2:02SPEAKER_00: It's a prophetic tool.
- 2:04SPEAKER_00: This microphone is your prophetic tool, or whatever microphone you want to use.
- 2:09SPEAKER_00: But listen, when Jesus hands you the mic, it's not about ego.
- 2:15SPEAKER_00: It's about obedience.
- 2:16SPEAKER_00: It's not about, oh, do I have the right tools or what am I going to say?
- 2:20SPEAKER_00: Jesus is handing you the mic.
- 2:22SPEAKER_00: I believe right now.
- 2:23SPEAKER_00: Maybe you have a podcast, but you've been quiet.
- 2:26SPEAKER_00: Or maybe you've been longing to start, and then there's the mic with Jesus' smile behind it.
- 2:32SPEAKER_00: We're here not to make noise.
- 2:35SPEAKER_00: You want to make impact.
- 2:36SPEAKER_00: I get that.
- 2:37SPEAKER_00: But he's calling you to speak now, not when it's convenient, not when it's perfect.
- 2:43SPEAKER_00: You'll never find the perfect timing.
- 2:45SPEAKER_00: Because when he gives the mic, it means he's ready to move.
- 2:48SPEAKER_00: He's ready to back you.
- 2:49SPEAKER_00: He's ready to help you.
- 2:51SPEAKER_00: And he brings along friends that'll help you.
- 2:54SPEAKER_00: I know this about the timing and that he's that he's ready to move.
- 2:59SPEAKER_00: But I also know that you can get stuck in trauma, stuck in what's going on around you.
- 3:06SPEAKER_00: You know, I had to find my voice in the midst of trauma.
- 3:10SPEAKER_00: I had to step out of the closet because I was hiding.
- 3:13SPEAKER_00: Couldn't do acoustics there, but I had to face it.
- 3:16SPEAKER_00: This is my calling.
- 3:17SPEAKER_00: No matter what I'm being criticized, I'm going to keep speaking.
- 3:21SPEAKER_00: I was in a 26 marriage where my words were either silence or sometimes they're filtered through fear.
- 3:28SPEAKER_00: Oftentimes I was put on mute.
- 3:30SPEAKER_00: In fact, he put up a picture, and everyone thought it was funny.
- 3:34SPEAKER_00: There was a picture of all these wires and these buttons, and he said, I'm just trying to find the mute button.
- 3:40SPEAKER_00: They laughed.
- 3:41SPEAKER_00: I cried.
- 3:42SPEAKER_00: Because the reality of that was so real.
- 3:45SPEAKER_00: Oftentimes, you know, there were programs that I wanted to sign up for on speaking.
- 3:50SPEAKER_00: I did a lot in deceit, and then God said, You could what's done in deceit is not gonna not gonna succeed.
- 3:57SPEAKER_00: So you need to come out of the open and tell them and be honest.
- 4:00SPEAKER_00: So I started doing that.
- 4:02SPEAKER_00: I remember I worked on like a I had a notebook full of why I should join this speaking group.
- 4:08SPEAKER_00: He didn't even look at it, threw it to the side, and oh, they're just trying to get your money.
- 4:13SPEAKER_00: You know, that I would see, this is interesting how it affected me physically.
- 4:18SPEAKER_00: I would see women doing what I wanted to do.
- 4:20SPEAKER_00: And I would get, I'd have a problem in my body.
- 4:24SPEAKER_00: After so many visits to the doctor, he said, you know, I don't think this is a UTI.
- 4:30SPEAKER_00: I looked at all your tests, there's no bacteria.
- 4:32SPEAKER_00: This is interstitial sciatis, painful bladder syndrome.
- 4:37SPEAKER_00: And it was being triggered by my anxiety to this day.
- 4:41SPEAKER_00: I have had very few of those.
- 4:43SPEAKER_00: But see how it was even affecting my body?
- 4:45SPEAKER_00: I so wanted to do it.
- 4:47SPEAKER_00: So what did I leave in?
- 4:48SPEAKER_00: I left myself in a dust, looking at people doing what I wanted to do.
- 4:52SPEAKER_00: And I'd be really excited and I would support him, but I'd be like, that hurts.
- 4:56SPEAKER_00: I remember one time I was in the garage helping him turn the garage into a bedroom, into an apartment.
- 5:02SPEAKER_00: And I remember hearing this speaker guy, this guy saying, speakers, stages are looking for women who have faith and who have a story.
- 5:12SPEAKER_00: And I knew I couldn't do that because I'd immediately be shut down.
- 5:17SPEAKER_00: I was shut down financially, so even if I wanted to do it, I couldn't do it.
- 5:22SPEAKER_00: But I did learn how to survive.
- 5:24SPEAKER_00: I learned how to speak.
- 5:26SPEAKER_00: I used that thing called Facebook Live when it was popular, and I'd position my camera, put it in a folder, and I'd hitch it on top of my laptop, and I would go Facebook Live.
- 5:37SPEAKER_00: Now I want to note here I went from the overflow.
- 5:41SPEAKER_00: God was teaching me something, I went to the camera and spoke it.
- 5:44SPEAKER_00: I did not talk about the drama, the trauma.
- 5:48SPEAKER_00: I was in it, but I didn't talk about it.
- 5:50SPEAKER_00: I said, God, well, how can you help me get it out of this?
- 5:52SPEAKER_00: And then I would look into the camera and I would speak.
- 5:56SPEAKER_00: But that chapter was a tough chapter.
- 6:00SPEAKER_00: And when it ended, he passed away.
- 6:04SPEAKER_00: I didn't just walk out of a relationship.
- 6:06SPEAKER_00: I had to walk into the mentally healing process where Jesus had to reteach me how to use my voice again.
- 6:14SPEAKER_00: There were days I just didn't think I had anything worth saying.
- 6:18SPEAKER_00: There were days where the feelings from the past, I'm just not good enough, would sneak up and tackle me.
- 6:26SPEAKER_00: But I went through the process.
- 6:28SPEAKER_00: I did the work mentally, had an amazing teacher, coach, and eventually dear friend walk me through it.
- 6:38SPEAKER_00: Well, let me talk.
- 6:40SPEAKER_00: Like I remember I had one session where I was just talking, talking.
- 6:45SPEAKER_00: Actually, I had for the first year, I think I did that.
- 6:47SPEAKER_00: And I finally asked her, I said, you know, it says you only need, you're only gonna give us about an hour, but you gave me two years.
- 6:54SPEAKER_00: And she said, Oh, gee, you needed to talk.
- 6:56SPEAKER_00: So you need to find that process.
- 6:58SPEAKER_00: So when you do get released to speak, you speak from the scars, not the wounds.
- 7:04SPEAKER_00: Now I'm not saying you have to have three years of counseling because I went on in the midst of the cacophony, but I found that place from the overflow.
- 7:14SPEAKER_00: So I think God's saying this to you.
- 7:17SPEAKER_00: He said it to me, daughter, there's oil on your voice.
- 7:23SPEAKER_00: Real oil of the Holy Spirit, not Crisco or virgin oil.
- 7:27SPEAKER_00: I thought that one was shown.
- 7:28SPEAKER_00: No, there's oil on your voice.
- 7:30SPEAKER_00: There's an anointing that only you can carry when you speak and look into the camera authentically.
- 7:37SPEAKER_00: Is he saying that to you?
- 7:39SPEAKER_00: There's oil on your voice.
- 7:42SPEAKER_00: So let's start with two of five powerful reasons why Jesus is calling you to speak, especially now.
- 7:48SPEAKER_00: Number one, your voice is a weapon.
- 7:51SPEAKER_00: Isaiah 61 says, We are anointed to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives.
- 7:58SPEAKER_00: Your story, your scars, they carry healing oil.
- 8:02SPEAKER_00: When you open your mouth in testimony and in truth from your scars, chains don't just break, they shatter.
- 8:11SPEAKER_00: And it doesn't have to be a dramatic, it doesn't have to be loud.
- 8:15SPEAKER_00: It doesn't have to have a dramatic testimony.
- 8:18SPEAKER_00: Your voice in obedience is spiritual warfare.
- 8:21SPEAKER_00: I remember a friend of mine was going to a speaking academy with me, and she goes, See, I don't think I have much to say.
- 8:26SPEAKER_00: I mean, I don't really have a gory story.
- 8:29SPEAKER_00: But then she read that verse in Revelation.
- 8:32SPEAKER_00: The verse, they overcome him by the blood of the Lamb and the word of their testimony.
- 8:39SPEAKER_00: She realized, like I hope you realize, there is power in your voice.
- 8:44SPEAKER_00: There's a yes in your voice that can change everything.
- 8:47SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I said yes.
- 8:49SPEAKER_00: One yes.
- 8:50SPEAKER_00: You don't need a platform, you just need a yes in the beginning.
- 8:54SPEAKER_00: When it comes to the power of yes, for example, I'll give you another example.
- 8:58SPEAKER_00: Just last year, I had a cancer scare.
- 9:01SPEAKER_00: And I'll never forget it.
- 9:03SPEAKER_00: I really believe the yes helped me through the biopsies, the MRIs, and two cancer surgeries.
- 9:09SPEAKER_00: But I remember where that yes started.
- 9:11SPEAKER_00: They had seen something on my mammogram, which my husband never let me get a mammogram.
- 9:17SPEAKER_00: They saw something and they were concerned.
- 9:19SPEAKER_00: So they wheeled me into a biopsy room, a table, and I remember sitting there waiting for the doctor, and it was cold.
- 9:26SPEAKER_00: I'm always cold.
- 9:27SPEAKER_00: And I heard the Holy Spirit say, T, are you gonna make this another story for my glory?
- 9:35SPEAKER_00: First I thought, mmm, I have so many stories, but then immediately I said, Yes.
- 9:42SPEAKER_00: I believe that yes carried me through every step, every appointment, every waiting room, every incision.
- 9:49SPEAKER_00: And the yes carried me through post problems where I had to go back within a month for another surgery.
- 9:58SPEAKER_00: But the yes was loud, it was in my ears.
- 10:02SPEAKER_00: That the yes said, You said yes to God, let it open the doors for healing.
- 10:08SPEAKER_00: Though I can tell you that I am now cancer free.
- 10:12SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I heard that.
- 10:14SPEAKER_00: The voice of I had to hear it from his voice.
- 10:16SPEAKER_00: He emailed it to me, and when I came for my appointment, I said, I need to hear it.
- 10:19SPEAKER_00: And your voice, he said, There's no cancer.
- 10:22SPEAKER_00: We got it all.
- 10:23SPEAKER_00: If you're waiting on the other side of obedience, maybe it's just a simple yes.
- 10:29SPEAKER_00: You don't need perfection, just permission.
- 10:33SPEAKER_00: And Jesus already gave it.
- 10:35SPEAKER_00: There is a generation waiting to be freed by the sound of your testimony.
- 10:41SPEAKER_00: And as you heal and speak from your scars and not your wounds, you're speaking to the person you once were.
- 10:48SPEAKER_00: Point number two here is women reveal the heart of God.
- 10:53SPEAKER_00: You carry part of his image, the nurturing, discernment, even the fire.
- 10:59SPEAKER_00: Think about the woman at the well in John 4, the first evangelist in Samaria, the woman at the well.
- 11:06SPEAKER_00: She didn't go to seminary, she didn't wait till she got it all together.
- 11:11SPEAKER_00: She had an encounter with Jesus, and something happened after that encounter.
- 11:16SPEAKER_00: She was messed up.
- 11:18SPEAKER_00: She had four past husbands, and the man she was sleeping wasn't her husband.
- 11:23SPEAKER_00: So Jesus called out the mess, but he called it out with love in this encounter.
- 11:29SPEAKER_00: And then after she had that encounter and the love was given, and she ran to her area and said, I have met the Messiah.
- 11:38SPEAKER_00: She became an evangelist, an apostle.
- 11:41SPEAKER_00: In fact, her name was Potini, P-H-O-T-I-N-I.
- 11:46SPEAKER_00: Now, if you Google that name, which will take a little trial because I kept Potinius, I kept getting that, but finally, I want to read about Potini.
- 11:56SPEAKER_00: The church fathers, religion, covered it.
- 12:00SPEAKER_00: She went on to be considered one of the greatest apostles, the woman at the well, saved, forgiven, and given a voice.
- 12:08SPEAKER_00: So the church didn't want, it covered up her name, but she went on to serve in the court of a major leader who later burned her, who later killed her.
- 12:19SPEAKER_00: But she was a voice of impact in the culture.
- 12:25SPEAKER_00: Maybe you think I can't speak because I'm really going through it.
- 12:29SPEAKER_00: One encounter with Jesus.
- 12:32SPEAKER_00: And if you've walked if we're through anything like I walked through, or some others have walked through, then I promise you, you've got something to say.
- 12:41SPEAKER_00: It is a testimony.
- 12:44SPEAKER_00: Now, just a quick look at that word testimony in Hebrew.
- 12:46SPEAKER_00: I can like I'm trying to say it in Hebrew.
- 12:49SPEAKER_00: It means do it again with the same power and authority.
- 12:52SPEAKER_00: So every time you share your testimony, a believer can claim the power and ask God to do the same thing in their lives.
- 13:00SPEAKER_00: They are like, Lord, do it again with the same power and authority in my life.
- 13:06SPEAKER_00: Testimony.
- 13:08SPEAKER_00: So this is your Esther hour.
- 13:11SPEAKER_00: Just read the book of Esther.
- 13:12SPEAKER_00: It's just amazing.
- 13:13SPEAKER_00: And Jesus is placing the mic now in your hand and saying, speak, daughter.
- 13:18SPEAKER_00: I'm with you.
- 13:19SPEAKER_00: If this episode stirred something in you, that sense that your voice matters more than you realized.
- 13:27SPEAKER_00: Then I invite you to go deeper with me.
- 13:30SPEAKER_00: First of all, let's just go to a webinar.
- 13:32SPEAKER_00: Go to stucknomorevoices.ai or check the link down below.
- 13:36SPEAKER_00: I prepared this free training to kind of explain to you the Stuck No More Voices Academy, where we teach from the overflow with two AI tools how to launch your podcast.
- 13:46SPEAKER_00: We don't just teach it, we gather you and a group of women, of community support, of hey, I need help with this and learning more about even the two AI tools that maybe some people feel overwhelmed when they realize how easy they are.
- 14:00SPEAKER_00: They're like, why didn't I find this?
- 14:02SPEAKER_00: You know, that's kind of sometimes what I say.
- 14:05SPEAKER_00: But in this webinar, I'm going to show you.
- 14:07SPEAKER_00: I'm going to show you how to launch your podcasts from the overflow, not overwhelm.
- 14:11SPEAKER_00: I'm going to give you some testimonies of some that went through our last academy.
- 14:16SPEAKER_00: And we're going to show you the two game-changing tools.
- 14:20SPEAKER_00: We're going to give you a look at the secret sauce so you can multiply your impact.
- 14:24SPEAKER_00: So you can carry this podcast alongside the other responsibilities you have, whether you're a mom or a business person or marketplace.
- 14:31SPEAKER_00: And then just for saying you want to go to the webinar, I'll give you a bonus video.
- 14:36SPEAKER_00: Three steps to start your podcast.
- 14:38SPEAKER_00: Take a step by step and give you an example.
- 14:41SPEAKER_00: Because this really isn't about tech, it's about transformation, it's about testimony.
- 14:47SPEAKER_00: It's about getting your story out of the note apps for me, out of the Evernote, and onto a podcast.
- 14:55SPEAKER_00: You know?
- 14:56SPEAKER_00: It's about getting those notes into a voice, into a story for someone's ears, so they can know that they have a chance.
- 15:07SPEAKER_00: They have that, hey, that person did it, so I can do it.
- 15:11SPEAKER_00: So you've waited long enough.
- 15:13SPEAKER_00: Yeah?
- 15:14SPEAKER_00: You've stayed silent long enough.
- 15:16SPEAKER_00: You've let tech overwhelm, or what do I have to say overwhelm?
- 15:20SPEAKER_00: Stop you.
- 15:21SPEAKER_00: Check out the webinar so you can see how you can have endless episodes.
- 15:26SPEAKER_00: And just check the link.
- 15:28SPEAKER_00: Maybe we'll go into that webinar and seeing that bonus video is your first step.
- 15:33SPEAKER_00: I'm so glad you joined me for this edition of the Stuck No More Voices podcast.
- 15:38SPEAKER_00: I encourage you, stay bold, stay faithful, and keep using your voice to share your story for his glory.
- 15:47SPEAKER_00: I'll talk to you again in the next edition of the Stuck No More Voices podcast and be looking for part two of the series Why Jesus is calling you to the mic.
