- 0:00Speaker 1: Tampa Bay's best music is magazine. Oh it's Scotty and
- 0:05Speaker 1: Abby Unfiltered. It's so nice to be back. It's been
- 0:08Speaker 1: a lot of life that has happened since the last episode.
- 0:11Speaker 1: But before we dive into this one, I do want
- 0:12Speaker 1: to say thank you because I saw a lot of
- 0:14Speaker 1: people responding to your question online Abby about what they
- 0:17Speaker 1: enjoyed most about this podcast, and it just ranged from
- 0:21Speaker 1: the fight that we've had with other stations, to the
- 0:24Speaker 1: stories that you've been able to bring about, trips that
- 0:27Speaker 1: you've had with your friends, the bar nights that we've experienced.
- 0:31Speaker 1: There's been a lot, and so thank you one for
- 0:33Speaker 1: all the reviews. And as we drive into this one,
- 0:36Speaker 1: if you want to put a review in I don't know.
- 0:38Speaker 1: Spotify Apple Podcast much appreciated because our goal is to
- 0:43Speaker 1: always get it better for you. And over this past
- 0:46Speaker 1: week I was away on a trip. Abby, You went
- 0:49Speaker 1: on a trip.
- 0:49Speaker 2: Hmm.
- 0:50Speaker 1: There's a lot to uncover, but I do want to
- 0:53Speaker 1: hear more about this bachelorette trip that you went on
- 0:56Speaker 1: because your Instagram. I gotta give you credit where credit
- 0:59Speaker 1: is due. You know how to take a photo, Brol Like,
- 1:02Speaker 1: good Lord, I look at my Instagram versus yours, and
- 1:05Speaker 1: I'm like, what is it? I don't know how you
- 1:08Speaker 1: get it to look so like crisp lighting, elegant. Mine's
- 1:12Speaker 1: like a video of me like bumbling around on kudos
- 1:15Speaker 1: to you.
- 1:15Speaker 2: Well, I got a brand new camera and if you're
- 1:18Speaker 2: at all in like the Instagram world, it's the G
- 1:20Speaker 2: seven X. Everybody's obsessed with this camera and it's because
- 1:23Speaker 2: it takes really really good photos. And me and my
- 1:26Speaker 2: cousin Ali both have one, and so we were like
- 1:28Speaker 2: the trip photographers on the Bachelorette, not getting paid. Yeah, no,
- 1:31Speaker 2: literally not getting paid any bit of work. But we
- 1:33Speaker 2: we spent like hours trying to figure out the settings,
- 1:36Speaker 2: and finally my cousin Ali's so good at this, she
- 1:38Speaker 2: figured out the exact settings to be able to make
- 1:41Speaker 2: it look good and outdoor lighting, so we were set
- 1:43Speaker 2: for the rest of the weekend.
- 1:44Speaker 1: I'm very curious on how many photos do you think
- 1:46Speaker 1: you all took total?
- 1:47Speaker 2: Because oh, let me pull it up because I can.
- 1:49Speaker 1: I have the shared album. Oh Lord, have mercy, because
- 1:52Speaker 1: I'm sure for every one photo that we saw on
- 1:55Speaker 1: your Instagram, is there probably twenty that are taken extra?
- 1:58Speaker 2: Yeah, the identical foot photos, but like your head is
- 2:01Speaker 2: at like a smaller tilt and you have to decide
- 2:03Speaker 2: which one you think looks more. N the art of
- 2:06Speaker 2: taking a photo, it is a numbers game, it really is.
- 2:09Speaker 1: But I will say it's impressive. Because I saw those photos,
- 2:12Speaker 1: I was like, damn, like I wanted to be on
- 2:14Speaker 1: the trip because I felt like, y'all, you did it up,
- 2:17Speaker 1: you did it very fancy.
- 2:18Speaker 2: Okay, do you want to guess how many photos are
- 2:19Speaker 2: in this shared album total? Yeah? Oh god, we got
- 2:24Speaker 2: there Thursday, we left yesterday Sunday.
- 2:26Speaker 1: Gosh, I'm going to say one hundred and seventy. I'm
- 2:31Speaker 1: way off, and I.
- 2:31Speaker 2: You're so off, it's not even funny. Oh you got
- 2:34Speaker 2: to go way up?
- 2:34Speaker 1: Is it more than three hundred? It's what the hell?
- 2:38Speaker 1: What is all this?
- 2:38Speaker 2: That's really funny?
- 2:41Speaker 1: Double that?
- 2:42Speaker 2: Sure? Why not give me another guest?
- 2:44Speaker 1: Six hundred?
- 2:46Speaker 2: You're wrong more?
- 2:48Speaker 1: Yeah, that's insane.
- 2:49Speaker 2: How many one thousand, nine hundred and fifty nine.
- 2:54Speaker 1: Nearly two thousand photos in this period of three days?
- 2:59Speaker 2: Yeah? I mean, because it's because it's all the girls
- 3:01Speaker 2: on the trip, and we have photos of the pasta
- 3:04Speaker 2: we ate, we had photos of the tattoos in my
- 3:05Speaker 2: brother's face, which you know was jarring to see the
- 3:09Speaker 2: photos of the group. We have solo photos, we have
- 3:12Speaker 2: duo photos, we have trio photos. We have to get
- 3:15Speaker 2: the outfit from the back, from the side, from the
- 3:17Speaker 2: front of course. Like and so when you see the
- 3:21Speaker 2: photos that we post, like when we finally post, like
- 3:24Speaker 2: the photo dump from the weekend, by all means no, no,
- 3:27Speaker 2: this going into it. No, no, the work that was
- 3:30Speaker 2: put into those photo dumps.
- 3:31Speaker 1: I mean it looks so good. Like I'm so jealous
- 3:34Speaker 1: of this trip because guys, bachelor parties. I went on
- 3:37Speaker 1: one in January and it was literally we went to
- 3:39Speaker 1: the mountains, we got a cabin and a majority of
- 3:41Speaker 1: the times we sat in the hot tub, had a
- 3:43Speaker 1: glass of whiskey and smoke the cigar.
- 3:45Speaker 2: That sounds so nice, though, it was so nice. That's
- 3:47Speaker 2: where parties are like cheer camp.
- 3:49Speaker 1: It seems like it. It seems like the schedule is overwhelming.
- 3:53Speaker 2: It's a lot of group photos, it's a lot of
- 3:55Speaker 2: matching outfits. And you do it because I'm a big
- 3:59Speaker 2: believer that this is the one time your bride, your
- 4:03Speaker 2: bride gets to do the bride thing. So you got
- 4:06Speaker 2: to like just show up and do the bride thing
- 4:07Speaker 2: or the bridesmaids thing.
- 4:08Speaker 1: For her, and you can't get this opportunity all the time,
- 4:11Speaker 1: Like eventually this chapter stops, Like eventually you won't be
- 4:14Speaker 1: going out as a bachelor group and you won't be
- 4:16Speaker 1: able to be in the bridal party because then you'll
- 4:19Speaker 1: be onto the next chapter. And so I get it's
- 4:20Speaker 1: like a lot at the time, but it's like, let's
- 4:23Speaker 1: just get it all in right now, because then everyone's
- 4:25Speaker 1: gonna be spread out all over the country and then
- 4:27Speaker 1: you just won't be in the wedding chapter anymore, I know.
- 4:29Speaker 2: So I'm glad that chapter's almost overfed because it's a
- 4:33Speaker 2: lot of fun and it's beautiful and I'm so glad
- 4:35Speaker 2: to like be a part of it all. But I'm
- 4:37Speaker 2: ready for it to be over.
- 4:38Speaker 1: I think it's so like understandable for people to say that, though,
- 4:41Speaker 1: because every person I've ever talked to in a bridal
- 4:44Speaker 1: party is like, I love it. I love her so much,
- 4:46Speaker 1: I love the friend group. We had such great bonds.
- 4:48Speaker 1: But it's exhausting.
- 4:50Speaker 2: Yeah, it's a lot, And so you know, I used
- 4:52Speaker 2: to see these videos of women in their thirties who
- 4:55Speaker 2: would say, Oh, I'm having an anti bachelorette batslorette or
- 4:58Speaker 2: we're just doing this, And I remember, like, that's so lame,
- 5:01Speaker 2: Like you only get one opportunity to have a bachelorette party,
- 5:03Speaker 2: like living up, especially after having to be in so
- 5:06Speaker 2: many bachelorette parties, like and you have to do the
- 5:08Speaker 2: thing where you know you're you're doing yoga at nine am,
- 5:11Speaker 2: but then you've got to like take shots at nine pm,
- 5:14Speaker 2: like take that time to do to do that, like
- 5:16Speaker 2: soak it all in and then literally I remember leaving
- 5:18Speaker 2: and going, you know what, I'm really glad I'm entering
- 5:20Speaker 2: my thirties soon. Because I texted my best friend Virginia,
- 5:24Speaker 2: who I know is getting engaged, so and I said, so,
- 5:26Speaker 2: what's like, just like you really like what's up then?
- 5:29Speaker 2: And she said, Oh, we're gonna take the PJ in
- 5:31Speaker 2: to Nappa And I was like, oh thank god.
- 5:33Speaker 1: Oh my gosh, that sounds nice, a nice day over
- 5:35Speaker 1: on the fields having wine.
- 5:37Speaker 2: I was like, that's the bachelorette. I want to be
- 5:38Speaker 2: a part of how.
- 5:39Speaker 1: We have brother real. So what was this one like?
- 5:42Speaker 1: Because it looked elegant, so you all went to Palm Beach.
- 5:44Speaker 2: Yeah, it was very much your classic bachelorette like that,
- 5:46Speaker 2: we show up, we all have matching pajamas on. We
- 5:48Speaker 2: did some really fun games. The the maid of Bonder
- 5:51Speaker 2: did a really great job doing a couple of power
- 5:55Speaker 2: points where she had like questions and answers that my
- 5:59Speaker 2: brother and his fiance had to answer. So he had
- 6:01Speaker 2: like recorded answers. I learned way more about my brother
- 6:04Speaker 2: that I didn't need to know, so like questions about
- 6:07Speaker 2: like the first time they said I love you and
- 6:09Speaker 2: things like that, and so they had to see if
- 6:11Speaker 2: they still remembered things the same way, which they did,
- 6:15Speaker 2: but my brother had to change a couple of answers
- 6:18Speaker 2: well that his fiance was a little bit more honest about.
- 6:22Speaker 2: And she had this really fun game where she turned
- 6:24Speaker 2: all of the bridesmaids into guys and you know, gave
- 6:28Speaker 2: us fun little dating profiles. It was good. She did
- 6:30Speaker 2: a really great job organizing that. And then the next
- 6:32Speaker 2: day we did a boat day, went to dinner. The
- 6:36Speaker 2: following day was pilates, and then like shopping around Worth Avenue.
- 6:40Speaker 2: You know, it's Worth Avenue, so I wasn't really buying anything.
- 6:42Speaker 2: I was sitting in the boyfriend chair. I was in
- 6:45Speaker 2: boyfriend chair duty. And then what was so crazy was
- 6:47Speaker 2: we my brother really loves this bar at the Breaker's Hotel.
- 6:50Speaker 2: And if you don't know what the Breakers is, it's
- 6:52Speaker 2: it's this historic resort. It's kind of a family resort,
- 6:55Speaker 2: but it's very expensive. We stayed there once during the
- 6:58Speaker 2: off season, and the off season is probably like half
- 7:01Speaker 2: the price of normal season. So I mean, these the
- 7:05Speaker 2: hotel rooms are running, you know, thousands of dollars, but
- 7:08Speaker 2: if you go in like July, which is when we went,
- 7:10Speaker 2: you can get it for like a like a decent price.
- 7:13Speaker 2: And there's this bar there. I don't know what the
- 7:16Speaker 2: bar is called, but there's there's a fish tank for
- 7:19Speaker 2: the bar, Like you sit at the bar and the
- 7:20Speaker 2: bar is a fish tank, so you're like, cool, Yeah,
- 7:22Speaker 2: so he loves this bar. So Kylie was like, let's
- 7:24Speaker 2: go there and have a beb and so we roll
- 7:27Speaker 2: up to the Breakers and there's this huge line to
- 7:30Speaker 2: get to the front and they're not letting anybody in
- 7:34Speaker 2: and we're so confused. We're like, what's going It's a Saturday,
- 7:37Speaker 2: it's a beautiful day, Like we want to go to
- 7:38Speaker 2: the Breakers. Kylie finally gets to the front, and I
- 7:41Speaker 2: guess it had been shut down for a wedding. Like
- 7:43Speaker 2: unless you were a guest there, you weren't allowed to
- 7:46Speaker 2: go to the Breakers. And so we're like, who's getting
- 7:49Speaker 2: who's important enough to get married to where they can
- 7:52Speaker 2: shut down this entire resort at the I mean this
- 7:56Speaker 2: is a huge hotel, Like like, girl, like let us
- 8:00Speaker 2: let us then, like we'll us go to the bar
- 8:01Speaker 2: and like we won't talk to you, like we swear.
- 8:03Speaker 2: So finally, I guess they found out who got married,
- 8:05Speaker 2: because there's already a Vogue article about it.
- 8:07Speaker 1: Really, Oh so it's somebody famous famous.
- 8:09Speaker 2: Well that's what we thought. So I don't know who
- 8:12Speaker 2: this girl is, but either she or her fiance must
- 8:15Speaker 2: have crazy money. I'll tell you who it is. It's
- 8:19Speaker 2: so Here's what Vogue said. When considering florals for her
- 8:23Speaker 2: Palm Beach wedding ceremony at the Breakers. Anna Kay Thomas
- 8:27Speaker 2: quickly decided that she would be be the flower, selecting
- 8:31Speaker 2: a Monique Lulier gown adorned with red rose applicuets. She says,
- 8:36Speaker 2: I'm a contrarian aquarium. I just wanted something bridal that
- 8:40Speaker 2: didn't scream Bridle, so I clicked on her. It looks
- 8:43Speaker 2: like she is a TV producer for some shows, Like
- 8:48Speaker 2: she's a photo here with Steve Harvey. Damn, she has
- 8:51Speaker 2: the Great American Baking Show in her bio and she's
- 8:55Speaker 2: Anna Kay Thomas all together in one like no spaces,
- 9:01Speaker 2: no hyphens for Instagram. I mean she's this beautiful yellow
- 9:05Speaker 2: canary diamond, which I mean those are extremely expensive, so
- 9:09Speaker 2: like there's hell of money. Here's what I'm trying to say.
- 9:12Speaker 1: Oh yeah, well I was looking at the rates for
- 9:14Speaker 1: this hotel. It's it's like a thousand dollars a night.
- 9:16Speaker 1: Good for them, I know. Is there a place like that? Again?
- 9:20Speaker 1: I had Who knows when a marriage is down the line.
- 9:23Speaker 1: I don't know, but like, is there a place in
- 9:24Speaker 1: your mind that you think, man, I would really like
- 9:27Speaker 1: they just dreamland.
- 9:28Speaker 2: Oh I know where I'm getting married?
- 9:29Speaker 1: Oh you do?
- 9:30Speaker 2: Yeah? Yeah, I know where I'm getting married.
- 9:31Speaker 1: Do you want to say, because I don't care, I'm
- 9:33Speaker 1: not telling anybody, is it gonna be taken? If that's
- 9:34Speaker 1: why I used to say it.
- 9:35Speaker 2: Well, it's a very popular wedding venue. Well I have
- 9:38Speaker 2: two in mind. I have one that I think would
- 9:40Speaker 2: be really great. But you also like don't really know
- 9:41Speaker 2: what you're getting into, like family wise with the other dude,
- 9:44Speaker 2: so he is if he has a massive family. I
- 9:47Speaker 2: don't know that this specific venue would work out. But
- 9:49Speaker 2: I know where I'm getting married.
- 9:51Speaker 1: Where is it located, what state? I'll tell you off air,
- 9:54Speaker 1: because these are things like I don't even think of.
- 9:56Speaker 1: Like I think for me, what I would want is
- 9:58Speaker 1: I want a destination wedding. Yeah, I to the grips
- 10:01Speaker 1: of it, like to have a smaller party. You know, well,
- 10:04Speaker 1: my family's small, so maybe that's selfish, but depends on
- 10:06Speaker 1: the bride and their family.
- 10:08Speaker 2: But when you say destination wedding, do you mean like
- 10:10Speaker 2: just somewhere else in Florida? Are you going to Italy?
- 10:12Speaker 1: I want to go to Italy. Oh that's sick as hell. Yeah,
- 10:14Speaker 1: give me like a castle because we had friends that
- 10:16Speaker 1: did that in Spain and it was like the greatest
- 10:18Speaker 1: experience O ker the same price, if not cheaper, We
- 10:22Speaker 1: were able to be at a castle in Spain. The
- 10:24Speaker 1: whole thing was ours. It was a gorgeous trip. And
- 10:28Speaker 1: the people that are there are people that truly know you. Yes,
- 10:32Speaker 1: you know it's not an eighth cousin who you haven't
- 10:34Speaker 1: seen ever, but now they're eating your o d'erbs and
- 10:37Speaker 1: you've paid for a plate of their food.
- 10:39Speaker 2: The only thing that's tough about that is there's still
- 10:41Speaker 2: some people who would love to be there, but can
- 10:43Speaker 2: they afford to be there?
- 10:44Speaker 1: And that's the biggest thing there might be like I
- 10:47Speaker 1: say all this now that watch this. This is gonna
- 10:48Speaker 1: be a bite in the ass in like three four
- 10:50Speaker 1: years whenever this time actually happens. But it's like, I
- 10:54Speaker 1: think it would be nice to have a party here
- 10:56Speaker 1: for the people that can't make it, and have like
- 10:58Speaker 1: a nice dinner somewhere, go out, but then actually do
- 11:01Speaker 1: the wedding and like make it a full experience. Go
- 11:03Speaker 1: to another country, travel around for a week or two,
- 11:06Speaker 1: and the people that could make it, you make it.
- 11:08Speaker 1: If you can't, I'm sorry.
- 11:09Speaker 2: What if you eloped in Europe? Like what if you
- 11:11Speaker 2: did an elopement and it's just you and your lady
- 11:14Speaker 2: and then you come back and have a reception here.
- 11:16Speaker 1: I think it would be fun. But it was so
- 11:17Speaker 1: fun having the whole group there. Yeah, Like that was
- 11:19Speaker 1: an experience because we went there and it's like the
- 11:21Speaker 1: whole group traveled Spain together, and then after the wedding,
- 11:24Speaker 1: then everyone traveled Italy together, and then traveled France. And
- 11:28Speaker 1: it was the whole thing that once you're over there,
- 11:30Speaker 1: you might as well get the most experienced. Yeah, and
- 11:32Speaker 1: why not do it with people that you truly love.
- 11:35Speaker 1: Maybe there's some time that you, like, you know, take
- 11:36Speaker 1: a little time away you and the you and the boo. Yeah,
- 11:39Speaker 1: I wouldn't mind having maybe going to Patty we we
- 11:43Speaker 1: Oi Oi. But like that's my dream, Like I don't
- 11:45Speaker 1: think there's any place again, I'm gonna bite my ass
- 11:48Speaker 1: in three years that in Florida.
- 11:50Speaker 2: You know.
- 11:50Speaker 1: If I'm gonna spend that money, let me do it
- 11:52Speaker 1: in a really cool location.
- 11:54Speaker 2: It is really expensive to get married, like I remember,
- 11:56Speaker 2: so my cousin had a really big wedding, huge wedding,
- 11:58Speaker 2: three hundred people at the Ritz in Sarasota. So, I mean,
- 12:01Speaker 2: already a very nice wedding. But they looked into the
- 12:03Speaker 2: breakers and I can't remember what the exact and the breakers,
- 12:06Speaker 2: by the way, is the resort I was just talking about.
- 12:08Speaker 2: There's like a minimum, like you have to spend at
- 12:10Speaker 2: least five hundred thousand or something insane. I know, I know,
- 12:14Speaker 2: so I'm so picture that, like already, just to get
- 12:17Speaker 2: married there is five hundred thousand dollars. Imagine what it's
- 12:19Speaker 2: like to completely shut down the entire hotel.
- 12:22Speaker 1: I can't even imagine. But if you have the money
- 12:25Speaker 1: and that is your dream, that's your dream, I guess,
- 12:27Speaker 1: then go ahead and make it happen.
- 12:29Speaker 2: I know, I just I know, wedding cultures out of control.
- 12:32Speaker 2: But I do love to look at the photos. Like
- 12:34Speaker 2: I was looking at this girl's Vogue article. I'm like,
- 12:35Speaker 2: oh my god, our dress was so beautiful, and her
- 12:39Speaker 2: reception dress was beautiful, and the cake was insane, and
- 12:42Speaker 2: the grounds are goous. Like I know, it is a
- 12:44Speaker 2: lot of money, but I do enjoy consuming the content.
- 12:47Speaker 1: What do you think for you when that time happens? Like,
- 12:49Speaker 1: will be the thing that you're like, I'm gonna splurge
- 12:51Speaker 1: on this, Like, let's say.
- 12:53Speaker 2: Everything, literally everything, but like, what's something everything? I was
- 12:57Speaker 2: texting my mom over the bachslorette and me and Ali,
- 13:00Speaker 2: my cousin, were joking because we'll be you know, when
- 13:04Speaker 2: I get married, I will be in my thirties, and
- 13:06Speaker 2: I was like, what should we do? She's like we
- 13:08Speaker 2: should go, we should go to France. I was like,
- 13:11Speaker 2: just let's just just me and you, Like, let's just
- 13:13Speaker 2: go sit our asses on a beach in France and
- 13:15Speaker 2: I'll wear a white sash and I'm on the bride.
- 13:17Speaker 1: That sounds amazing. I did something so actually, since this
- 13:20Speaker 1: kind of falls in line when I've heard that time
- 13:22Speaker 1: comes like and we we get engaged, I want to
- 13:26Speaker 1: use that for literally everything, like all engagement act like
- 13:31Speaker 1: it's the first time. Like I want to be the
- 13:32Speaker 1: couple that's doing like fake proposals in like the middle
- 13:35Speaker 1: of the engagement at a dinner to see if we
- 13:37Speaker 1: can get like a free bottle of champagne. Over the
- 13:41Speaker 1: past week, I did something super corny. And before I
- 13:45Speaker 1: went on this trip, I had a beautiful date weekend.
- 13:48Speaker 2: Oh I forgot about this.
- 13:49Speaker 1: Yes, and one of the corny things I did. And
- 13:52Speaker 1: I have no shame because now I can talk about
- 13:54Speaker 1: it because it's not gonna they can't get mad at me.
- 13:57Speaker 1: I lied to the hotel, I lied to the restaurant.
- 14:00Speaker 1: I told him it was our anniversary to get in.
- 14:03Speaker 2: I mean, technically anything can be an anniversary.
- 14:05Speaker 1: That's what I said.
- 14:06Speaker 2: What are they going to do card you for it.
- 14:08Speaker 1: Well, here when I was calling up around because I
- 14:10Speaker 1: wanted to have a nice dinner and I was looking
- 14:13Speaker 1: online and like every reservation was taken. But I really
- 14:17Speaker 1: wanted to go to this restaurant because it was over
- 14:18Speaker 1: in Dunedin and it had this beautiful view of the
- 14:21Speaker 1: Oh shit, it was gorgeous. And so I called him
- 14:24Speaker 1: up and I was like, hey, you know, I'm looking
- 14:26Speaker 1: to get a reservation. Like oh, I'm so sorry, Like
- 14:29Speaker 1: there's there's no chance. I was like, dang, you know,
- 14:33Speaker 1: celebrate an anniversary and I wanted to do something special.
- 14:35Speaker 1: They're like, oh, well give us one second. They get
- 14:38Speaker 1: like the manager involved, and they find us at the
- 14:41Speaker 1: table by the massive window looking out over the water.
- 14:45Speaker 1: And I didn't tell my person this until we got there.
- 14:48Speaker 1: I was like, hey, by the way, just giving you
- 14:51Speaker 1: a heads up. You know, even though we've been kind
- 14:54Speaker 1: of we've been dating for two months, they're going to
- 14:56Speaker 1: come up and say happy anniversary.
- 14:57Speaker 2: Well it was your two month anniversary.
- 14:59Speaker 1: That's kind of how I leaned into it too. It
- 15:00Speaker 1: doesn't matter how long. It's kind of it was like celebrating,
- 15:04Speaker 1: you know, two months of dating. But they come over.
- 15:06Speaker 1: They're like, here's some free glasses champagne, here's an entire card,
- 15:11Speaker 1: here's gift cards to the restaurant, and here's a free dessert.
- 15:14Speaker 1: They did the works, and it was so worth every
- 15:19Speaker 1: bit of that lie. Wow, extended truth.
- 15:21Speaker 2: Well, somebody's got to sit by the window, why not, y'all?
- 15:23Speaker 1: And that's what I said. But I also did the
- 15:24Speaker 1: same thing for the hotel because I wanted to stay
- 15:26Speaker 1: over at the Fenway.
- 15:27Speaker 2: Yeah, and gay, they don't don't drop the hotel name,
- 15:31Speaker 2: because now they're gonna be like, well, now he's gonna
- 15:32Speaker 2: lie every time he goes on. No.
- 15:34Speaker 1: Well, well, here's the thing. Here's the thing. I had
- 15:36Speaker 1: a I did this auction like a year ago, or
- 15:39Speaker 1: I bid for a stay at the Fenway. Now I'm
- 15:43Speaker 1: an idiot, and I didn't use that you know, certificate
- 15:46Speaker 1: to have a stay. It expired and I didn't realize
- 15:50Speaker 1: that until I was finally ready to like set this
- 15:52Speaker 1: weekend up and I called him and that was my
- 15:55Speaker 1: way of getting back. I was like, is there any
- 15:57Speaker 1: way to extend this because it's our anniversary? Oh my god.
- 16:04Speaker 1: And when we got there, it was the same thing.
- 16:05Speaker 1: They're like, here's complimentary champagne, have an amazing anniversary. So
- 16:11Speaker 1: it became this whole saga, but it was so funny
- 16:14Speaker 1: for everybody that came up and said thank you, like
- 16:16Speaker 1: her and I just started laughing. And it was this
- 16:19Speaker 1: whole thing where we had the waiter signing the card
- 16:21Speaker 1: and signing the bag of food. It was so fun
- 16:24Speaker 1: And now it makes me think, when my ass gets engaged,
- 16:27Speaker 1: I'm doing that everywhere.
- 16:29Speaker 2: But do it celebrated. It's a big deal. And what
- 16:31Speaker 2: I'm saying, I love to tie Taylor Swift and everything
- 16:34Speaker 2: because I'm mentally ill. But I remember I saw an
- 16:37Speaker 2: interview rite after she got engaged with Jimmy Fallon, and
- 16:39Speaker 2: it's been living to my head rent free because I
- 16:42Speaker 2: think when you grow up in a really safe suburban environment,
- 16:45Speaker 2: you see couples together and you see families together, you
- 16:48Speaker 2: kind of just assume, like at twenty six or twenty seven,
- 16:51Speaker 2: you get like your government issue husband or something like
- 16:53Speaker 2: you meet in a bar and the Government's like, here's
- 16:55Speaker 2: here's jim and you realize that that doesn't just happen.
- 16:59Speaker 2: Like finding someone to spend the rest of your life
- 17:01Speaker 2: with is such a lightning in a bottle moment. And
- 17:03Speaker 2: I remember she was talking about how meeting meeting draculate,
- 17:07Speaker 2: talking about taylor'shof it. She said, meeting Travis, She's like,
- 17:10Speaker 2: that's just something that could have just like never happened,
- 17:12Speaker 2: but it did, and how cool was that? Like it
- 17:15Speaker 2: meeting the love of your life is something that could
- 17:17Speaker 2: have just never happened. And I think finding somebody that special,
- 17:22Speaker 2: somebody that you care about enough to literally forsake everybody
- 17:25Speaker 2: else to say I want to spend every single day
- 17:28Speaker 2: with you, I want to do everything with you, is
- 17:30Speaker 2: the most beautiful and special thing ever and it literally
- 17:33Speaker 2: could never happen. So when it does, take every moment
- 17:36Speaker 2: for what it is and make it as special as
- 17:38Speaker 2: how how big of a deal it is.
- 17:40Speaker 1: See, I love that because I do like when my
- 17:43Speaker 1: whole thought process is like not taking life too seriously,
- 17:46Speaker 1: like letting those silly moments happen, be goofy with it,
- 17:49Speaker 1: be corny with it be. And again I wasn't like
- 17:51Speaker 1: taking advantage of things. I was just trying to leverage
- 17:53Speaker 1: things in a funny way that doesn't hurt anybody.
- 17:57Speaker 2: Exactly, because I mean, they budget for that kind of stuff,
- 18:00Speaker 2: like when a resort charges you a fifty dollars resort fee.
- 18:03Speaker 2: That's got to go to something, so take advantage of it.
- 18:06Speaker 2: They're doing just fine. They're not gonna go broke because
- 18:08Speaker 2: they gave you a bottle of Cormell.
- 18:10Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't know, They're fine. Yeah, it was brunt,
- 18:13Speaker 1: so like, oh my god, we heard your anniversary. They
- 18:17Speaker 1: bring over glasses of champagne. I'm like, this is the
- 18:19Speaker 1: greatest thing ever. I want to use it, you know,
- 18:21Speaker 1: going forward. But it was so funny because it was
- 18:24Speaker 1: one of our Like, you know, it's all these moments
- 18:26Speaker 1: right now are like first things for us, which is
- 18:29Speaker 1: super cool. So it's like I get to sparkle in
- 18:31Speaker 1: little kind of moments that just build the experience even better.
- 18:35Speaker 2: You're making Disney magic.
- 18:36Speaker 1: Exactly and possibly a little what would my grandmother used
- 18:40Speaker 1: to call it a white lie? Did you ever do that?
- 18:42Speaker 2: It's because you're white, you're lying.
- 18:43Speaker 1: Yeah. My grandma always used to say, if it doesn't
- 18:46Speaker 1: hurt anybody, it's a little white lie.
- 18:47Speaker 2: It doesn't hurt anybody. And you it made your experience
- 18:50Speaker 2: at the hotel great, and you guys might return back
- 18:53Speaker 2: over and over and over again. They're just securing their.
- 18:55Speaker 1: Business absolutely, and that stay was awesome. But that's why
- 19:00Speaker 1: it's kind of fun because with that trip, it's fun
- 19:03Speaker 1: exploring new pockets of this area and like giving yourself
- 19:06Speaker 1: time to be in that area. Like we were in
- 19:09Speaker 1: Dunedin and so we went out and had dinner and
- 19:12Speaker 1: then we walked the street to go hit their local bars,
- 19:15Speaker 1: which are so much more different than the bars in
- 19:17Speaker 1: Saint Pete, which we loved. It was like more adults,
- 19:21Speaker 1: more casual, fancier drinks. Got this drink with a little
- 19:25Speaker 1: dinosaur on top. That dinosaur has become this whole thing
- 19:28Speaker 1: saga in our relationship little dino, and it became so
- 19:32Speaker 1: fun because we got to explore outside of our typical
- 19:35Speaker 1: region of where we hang out versus like Tampa Saint
- 19:38Speaker 1: Pete area exactly, get to go bop around. Maybe next
- 19:41Speaker 1: it's down in Sarasota and they have their whole loose
- 19:44Speaker 1: section of bars that I'm not even used to. And
- 19:46Speaker 1: then eventually I want to go do some like you know,
- 19:48Speaker 1: some country stuff in like the middle of Florida and
- 19:50Speaker 1: really expand out there.
- 19:52Speaker 2: Get out there.
- 19:53Speaker 1: But then went on the saga after that trip to
- 19:56Speaker 1: El Salvador and this I was joking on the air
- 19:58Speaker 1: of the day because I go on the trip and
- 20:01Speaker 1: this is a wellness retreat. This is simply I have
- 20:05Speaker 1: friends that are putting on this retreat for yoga and
- 20:08Speaker 1: breath work, and you're exploring a new country that I've
- 20:11Speaker 1: never seen in my life. It's an Elle Salvador. And
- 20:14Speaker 1: I go on Instagram as I'm getting on the flight,
- 20:18Speaker 1: He's like, yeah, I don't know Wherecott is. I think
- 20:19Speaker 1: he's over on a Nyahuascar retreat.
- 20:21Speaker 2: I was like, good lord, I'm like really harping on
- 20:23Speaker 2: the fact that I called it. I like satirically called
- 20:25Speaker 2: it a Nyahuascar.
- 20:26Speaker 1: It was so funny though, because I was dying of
- 20:28Speaker 1: laughter because it sounds if you hear me say, I'm
- 20:31Speaker 1: just going to El Salvador, it's on a retreat, it
- 20:34Speaker 1: sounds exactly like that.
- 20:35Speaker 2: You're telling me. There was no you were in El
- 20:37Speaker 2: Salvador for five days, there was no ayahuasca.
- 20:39Speaker 1: I can't reveal what was out on that trip fully,
- 20:41Speaker 1: Oh my god, I'm just joking.
- 20:43Speaker 2: It's like fight club, yeah about it.
- 20:44Speaker 1: You gotta go on the retreat to find out what
- 20:46Speaker 1: was on the retreat. But it was the first time
- 20:47Speaker 1: I've ever done something like this, And I went solo,
- 20:49Speaker 1: and I just had to go and meet a whole
- 20:51Speaker 1: new group of people. And it was incredible because what
- 20:54Speaker 1: was funny is I guess I forgot to tell people
- 20:57Speaker 1: I was leaving that are in my life. And so
- 21:00Speaker 1: I go to this new country, you know, Salvador, and
- 21:03Speaker 1: once you get there, I mean, nobody's able to contact you. No,
- 21:08Speaker 1: but apparently everybody in my family was. And so I
- 21:11Speaker 1: was just talking to my brother yesterday. He's like, dude,
- 21:13Speaker 1: I thought you died. He's like, I called you every
- 21:16Speaker 1: single day and it would go straight to voicemail. I
- 21:19Speaker 1: called you so many times, in fact, that I started
- 21:20Speaker 1: to worry and I had to actually contact Dad to
- 21:22Speaker 1: be like, have you heard from Scott? Like I think
- 21:26Speaker 1: something might have happened. Luckily I texted my dad before
- 21:28Speaker 1: I left. I was like, oh, by the way, you
- 21:29Speaker 1: know going El Salvador, Well.
- 21:31Speaker 2: That's horrifying. What if something happened. You have no way
- 21:32Speaker 2: of contacting anybody.
- 21:34Speaker 1: I think I would I would have been fine. You know,
- 21:36Speaker 1: we were with the trip with the whole group of people.
- 21:39Speaker 2: You don't know, like you're an El Salvador, You're not
- 21:41Speaker 2: in Dunedin.
- 21:42Speaker 1: No, but I didn't. I should have probably told the
- 21:45Speaker 1: people that I think would have contacted me that I
- 21:47Speaker 1: was going to another country. I didn't realize calls couldn't
- 21:50Speaker 1: get through though. So while my brother's panicking, I'm over
- 21:52Speaker 1: there doing yoga, I'm hitting a downward dog, I'm playing
- 21:55Speaker 1: with the local beach dogs. And it was such an
- 21:57Speaker 1: incredible trip, but there are so many little moments like
- 22:01Speaker 1: that were I mean, you're right, I could have died,
- 22:03Speaker 1: not because of like anything happening in the country. It
- 22:06Speaker 1: was just more so the landscape because some of the
- 22:08Speaker 1: things that we did were we went and the first
- 22:11Speaker 1: day we went hiked down to a waterfall. And it's
- 22:13Speaker 1: not like one of these little American hikes where it's like, oh,
- 22:16Speaker 1: you got guard rails, and it's like maybe you're a
- 22:19Speaker 1: safety feature, maybe you wear a life vest when you
- 22:21Speaker 1: go on a Hell no, you are scaling down the
- 22:24Speaker 1: side of a mountain like so much. In fact, like
- 22:26Speaker 1: you literally slided like whush in different sections, sliding down
- 22:30Speaker 1: a mountain to get down to this waterfall. It's like
- 22:33Speaker 1: two miles down at any given point could have tripped,
- 22:37Speaker 1: stumbled down, broke my neck and died. Oh my god,
- 22:41Speaker 1: nobody would have known. But it was freaking awesome.
- 22:44Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 22:44Speaker 1: You get down there and it's just massive waterfall. The
- 22:47Speaker 1: water is so crystal clear and beautiful. They got these
- 22:50Speaker 1: little fish in there that you're stepping with. Incredible. And
- 22:53Speaker 1: then the next day we hike up to a volcano
- 22:55Speaker 1: and it's the same kind of deal. You're like stepping
- 22:57Speaker 1: and balancing on rocks on the side of a out
- 23:01Speaker 1: no guardrail, no zip line, nothing to help you if
- 23:03Speaker 1: you fall. But then the view when you get up there,
- 23:06Speaker 1: you're literally looking into a volcano.
- 23:09Speaker 2: Wow.
- 23:09Speaker 1: So plenty of moments could have died, plenty of moments.
- 23:12Speaker 1: My brother could have been absolutely right on this trip,
- 23:13Speaker 1: oh for sure, but so worth it. No ayahuasca ingested. Okay,
- 23:18Speaker 1: everything natural and infused and enjoyed, but so weed. Uh,
- 23:23Speaker 1: you know, maybe it's just some surveys us. I got
- 23:25Speaker 1: to practice my Spanish a Tony and I got to
- 23:27Speaker 1: do that with the locals, had the local food and
- 23:29Speaker 1: the local drinks, and had a great time doing it all.
- 23:32Speaker 1: No ayahuasca, yoga and breathwork.
- 23:35Speaker 2: And that's why you were out last week. I was
- 23:37Speaker 2: a lot of people were upset that we only had
- 23:38Speaker 2: one episode last week.
- 23:39Speaker 1: I'm sorry. Yeah, I don't know how to get a
- 23:41Speaker 1: you know, a head on podcast if I'm going to
- 23:44Speaker 1: be leaving, but I will say my whole thing was
- 23:47Speaker 1: to get a recharge, to come back refreshed and re energized.
- 23:52Speaker 1: And most vacations you ever find that where you come
- 23:55Speaker 1: back and you're like more exhausted.
- 23:56Speaker 2: Oh yeah, yeah, I mean exhibit.
- 24:00Speaker 1: This is like the first time ever I've actually come
- 24:02Speaker 1: back where I'm like, oh my god, I feel rested
- 24:06Speaker 1: and excited. Yeah, which is very different because usually it's
- 24:10Speaker 1: like you go on vacation and I don't know why
- 24:12Speaker 1: we always do this, but we try to squeeze everything
- 24:14Speaker 1: into one little thing. Yeah, so you're like from sunrise
- 24:17Speaker 1: to sundown, you're just go, go, go going, and you
- 24:19Speaker 1: come back exhausted.
- 24:20Speaker 2: Well, the whole point of this trip was to relax, literally,
- 24:22Speaker 2: and so when you actually get to do that, then
- 24:24Speaker 2: you don't feel like you need a vacation. From the vacation.
- 24:26Speaker 1: It was incredible, and I came back and I had
- 24:29Speaker 1: some other drama once I got back, which that sucked
- 24:31Speaker 1: because that kind of took me out of my zeno.
- 24:33Speaker 1: When happened ah, just like, yeah, stuff I got to
- 24:37Speaker 1: figure out, but.
- 24:38Speaker 2: We have to get you out of that house.
- 24:40Speaker 1: Well, we're figuring it out. We're figuring it out. Okay,
- 24:43Speaker 1: I know, I know, I've got some things in the
- 24:44Speaker 1: works right now that we'll have to discuss in another setting.
- 24:48Speaker 1: But luckily, because of that trip, I was able to
- 24:52Speaker 1: handle real life dramas a whole lot better.
- 24:55Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 24:56Speaker 1: Yeah, A lot of breath work and a lot of
- 24:57Speaker 1: time in my meditation state gave me the mindset to
- 25:01Speaker 1: come back and take on some dragons because a boy
- 25:04Speaker 1: needed to I get that. So that's where I was
- 25:07Speaker 1: last week. I was an El Salvador no ayahuasca, ingested
- 25:11Speaker 1: all yoga, all breath work, and puppies, puppy yoga as.
- 25:13Speaker 2: It was another little puppy moment.
- 25:15Speaker 1: Absolutely needed it, absolutely and I think before we actually
- 25:19Speaker 1: got to leave on this trip, we didn't even get
- 25:22Speaker 1: to talk about like our adventures throughout Tampa Bay and
- 25:26Speaker 1: the derby. Oh yes, and the game.
- 25:29Speaker 2: I have a story about that, the dirty well the
- 25:31Speaker 2: day the day after the derby.
- 25:33Speaker 1: Let's dive into that, because before I go on this
- 25:36Speaker 1: like excursion, I mean, it's one of the most adventurous
- 25:40Speaker 1: weekends I have had in a long time, one that
- 25:42Speaker 1: I'm truly grateful for that will hold a memory forever.
- 25:45Speaker 1: Like I told you, we went out and had this
- 25:47Speaker 1: beautiful stay at a hotel over in Dunedin, go out
- 25:50Speaker 1: on the town and come back. And the next day
- 25:52Speaker 1: is supposed to be Derby Day and Tampa Bay, which
- 25:55Speaker 1: is was supposed to be a massive event for the
- 25:58Speaker 1: Kentucky Derby. Everyone gets all rest up at the pier,
- 26:01Speaker 1: so we got our outfits on, Abby, You're gonna meet
- 26:04Speaker 1: us out there, and right before we freaking leave, it
- 26:09Speaker 1: torrential downpour.
- 26:10Speaker 2: It was probably the most intense thunderstorm I've seen since
- 26:14Speaker 2: I've moved to Tampa.
- 26:15Speaker 1: It was horrible.
- 26:16Speaker 2: It's Florida, so like I'm used as a Floridy and
- 26:18Speaker 2: I'm used to these kinds of storms, but I haven't
- 26:19Speaker 2: seen one since I've moved here. Like it's been a
- 26:21Speaker 2: little rainy here and there, but it downpoured. I mean
- 26:25Speaker 2: the kind where you can't leave whatever facility you're at.
- 26:28Speaker 1: Yeah, and we were like about to walk out, and
- 26:30Speaker 1: I'm like, the Uber's canceling. I'm like, why is the
- 26:32Speaker 1: uber canceling? It's because the streets were literally flooded.
- 26:34Speaker 2: Yeah, the ring was that bad. So I was at brunch.
- 26:36Speaker 2: I was in downtown Saint Pete at a restaurant called
- 26:38Speaker 2: Bella brava great place. Downtown Saint Pete's great, and then
- 26:42Speaker 2: we went to the Vanoi to have one more bed
- 26:44Speaker 2: and we're thinking we're gonna trot over from the Nooi,
- 26:47Speaker 2: which is a really fancy hotel in downtown Saint Pete,
- 26:49Speaker 2: to the Derby, and all of a sudden, it's like
- 26:51Speaker 2: disgusting now, like absolutely, like there's nothing we can do.
- 26:54Speaker 2: So we're just sitting there drinking. I'm like, Scott, we're
- 26:56Speaker 2: at Thevanoi. If you want to come hang out at
- 26:57Speaker 2: the Panoy.
- 26:58Speaker 1: I'm getting uber.
- 26:59Speaker 2: You showed up with your lady, and then that's where
- 27:01Speaker 2: we dropped over to Mandarin Hide, which is a cocktail
- 27:03Speaker 2: bar in downtown Saint Pete. Because in typical Florida fashion,
- 27:06Speaker 2: it was disgusting for an hour and then it was fine.
- 27:08Speaker 1: Yeah, which sucks because as we're about to leave, I'm like,
- 27:10Speaker 1: I wonder if they're gonna be able to do this event,
- 27:12Speaker 1: and immediately they're like the event's canceled, which that sucks
- 27:16Speaker 1: because it's like all year, that's your one event. You're
- 27:19Speaker 1: bringing in thousands of dollars and it all actually goes
- 27:21Speaker 1: to charity, which is cool. I don't know what charity
- 27:23Speaker 1: or what it helps, but to have to cancel it
- 27:26Speaker 1: in the very beginning, and then Florida does what Florida does,
- 27:28Speaker 1: and it's like all clear. Like if you would have
- 27:31Speaker 1: just you, as in they would have any idea, but
- 27:34Speaker 1: just an hour later they would have been fine. That sucks,
- 27:37Speaker 1: you know, so I feel very bad for them. But
- 27:38Speaker 1: then we got to go to Mandarin Hide, and honestly,
- 27:41Speaker 1: it almost seemed like the day went even better.
- 27:44Speaker 2: Yeah, it worked out then it should have because we
- 27:47Speaker 2: all got to hang out, we get to meet got
- 27:48Speaker 2: to meet mingle and I feel like you guys had
- 27:51Speaker 2: friends there, or.
- 27:52Speaker 1: Yeah, I was meeting my lady's friends. Like this is
- 27:55Speaker 1: I'm at that point in this relationship where like we're
- 27:58Speaker 1: intertangling our friend groups. Yes, which is one super exciting
- 28:05Speaker 1: but also kind of nerve wracking.
- 28:07Speaker 2: Really were you nervous to meet her friends? Absolutely, this
- 28:10Speaker 2: was the first time you were meeting her friends.
- 28:11Speaker 1: Some of them so like a good section of them. Like,
- 28:13Speaker 1: so she's telling me about them on the car ride
- 28:15Speaker 1: and we're talking about all right, here's this person's Instagram,
- 28:18Speaker 1: here's kind of what they're like and stuff, and I'm
- 28:20Speaker 1: I'm of course excited, because I want to be able
- 28:23Speaker 1: to see her circles. Yeah, the people that she surrounds
- 28:26Speaker 1: herself with, the people that when she tells me stories
- 28:28Speaker 1: I can now connect to. Yes, But I mean I
- 28:30Speaker 1: could be honest, like there's a side of me that's like,
- 28:32Speaker 1: I really hope they like me because I really like her,
- 28:36Speaker 1: and I want to make sure that when I'm not
- 28:38Speaker 1: in those rooms, the words that are exchanged and shared
- 28:41Speaker 1: her positive, all supportive, of course. And as soon as
- 28:45Speaker 1: we get there, it was so cool. I started meeting
- 28:48Speaker 1: some of her friends and it's like, you know those
- 28:50Speaker 1: moments where it just kind of clicks. You're like, oh,
- 28:52Speaker 1: this person and I are going to be friends. Yeah. Yeah,
- 28:54Speaker 1: and it's so easy.
- 28:55Speaker 2: Who was the first person you felt like that with.
- 28:57Speaker 1: There's this dude, Jay Janette, And as soon as I
- 29:00Speaker 1: got talking to him, it was like, oh my god,
- 29:01Speaker 1: we're just browing out. Immediately, I was like, oh, this
- 29:04Speaker 1: is so easy. He was let's see, he was white, Okay,
- 29:12Speaker 1: let's see kind of like my height. Okay, I'm trying
- 29:16Speaker 1: to think there's only like a couple.
- 29:17Speaker 2: Of dudes, because I mean, I met I was hanging
- 29:19Speaker 2: out with her friends too for most of the night,
- 29:21Speaker 2: but I don't remember Jay.
- 29:22Speaker 1: I'm trying to remember making now, I'm not making up Jay.
- 29:25Speaker 1: He had like a I think he had like a
- 29:26Speaker 1: button down shirt. Maybe it was maybe, it doesn't matter. Yeah,
- 29:30Speaker 1: But immediately as soon as him and I started talking,
- 29:32Speaker 1: I was like, oh, this is such a good sign.
- 29:35Speaker 1: I started talking to him, so it's like him and
- 29:37Speaker 1: I are growing out so much. In fact that when
- 29:39Speaker 1: people were walking up to like introduce themselves to me,
- 29:42Speaker 1: I'm like, I'm so intertwined in this relationship. It's so good,
- 29:45Speaker 1: and I have to like force stop it to go
- 29:47Speaker 1: and talk to everybody else in the group. And it
- 29:49Speaker 1: was like one after the other of every person that
- 29:52Speaker 1: I met. I was like, oh my god, this is
- 29:54Speaker 1: so great, so easy. And then I start talking to
- 29:56Speaker 1: her girlfriends and one takes me aside and they're like,
- 30:00Speaker 1: you're gonna make this official.
- 30:01Speaker 2: Oh it's so funny because wait is it? Because she listens?
- 30:05Speaker 1: No, Because of when we walked in the bar, what
- 30:10Speaker 1: you said, Abby, you actually started this conversation. You're like, oh,
- 30:14Speaker 1: look it's whatever their boyfriend girlfriend or something like that.
- 30:19Speaker 2: Wait what did I I don't remember what you said.
- 30:21Speaker 2: I come in and go, oh, this is Scott's girlfriend,
- 30:23Speaker 2: or because I've just call her your girlfriend at this point.
- 30:25Speaker 1: Yeah, well it was something in that vein. And then
- 30:28Speaker 1: one of her friends was like, oh, she took me aside.
- 30:30Speaker 1: She's like, did you did you actually make it official?
- 30:33Speaker 1: And I was like, oh my god, Abby, you stirred
- 30:36Speaker 1: the pot in a great way, in a great way.
- 30:38Speaker 1: I always find it very funny because something that about Abby,
- 30:42Speaker 1: you just go for things. Yeah, you go for things
- 30:44Speaker 1: in an awesome way that I truly enjoy it, Like
- 30:46Speaker 1: you can push me to the edge, like it's awesome.
- 30:48Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 30:48Speaker 1: But she takes me aside and she's like, did you
- 30:50Speaker 1: make it official?
- 30:50Speaker 2: We said that to you?
- 30:51Speaker 1: One of her friends Yeah, yeah, yeah, And I was like,
- 30:55Speaker 1: oh my god, that was my co host story in
- 30:57Speaker 1: the pot. That was her, And she's like, well when
- 30:59Speaker 1: are I was like, just guys, give me a second.
- 31:02Speaker 2: A second. I guess I think feel like it's just
- 31:04Speaker 2: going so well that it feels weird to not call
- 31:07Speaker 2: her your girlfriend. Does that make sense.
- 31:08Speaker 1: Yeah, that makes sense.
- 31:10Speaker 2: Of course I was being a little tongue in cheek,
- 31:11Speaker 2: but I was also kind of like, this is girl,
- 31:13Speaker 2: this is girlfriend.
- 31:14Speaker 1: Well that's what. And I got to explain her. I
- 31:16Speaker 1: was like, trust me, as soon as somebody thinks like
- 31:19Speaker 1: I'm I'm always thinking. I've never been more strategic and
- 31:22Speaker 1: thoughtful in my life. Yeah, and so yeah, I got
- 31:25Speaker 1: to cover everybody just calmed down.
- 31:27Speaker 2: So you haven't asked her officially.
- 31:29Speaker 1: I have not asked her officially yet.
- 31:30Speaker 2: I thought you were going to ask her at the
- 31:31Speaker 2: Fenway for sure.
- 31:33Speaker 1: No, I have better ideas in my mind.
- 31:35Speaker 2: I love that for her, Thank you.
- 31:37Speaker 1: So I wanted to make sure that of course, like
- 31:39Speaker 1: everything's just going out of pace, and I never wanted
- 31:41Speaker 1: anything to feel like rushed or pressured. And since we
- 31:45Speaker 1: already knew that's like we're each other's person, I'm like, okay,
- 31:48Speaker 1: I got it. Yeah, And so, as I said to
- 31:51Speaker 1: her yesterday, stay tuned, big things.
- 31:54Speaker 2: Coming, Okay, big radio tease.
- 31:56Speaker 1: I'll say what you know what and sooner rather than later,
- 31:59Speaker 1: not you.
- 31:59Speaker 2: Tease your girlfriend like literally like a and coming up
- 32:03Speaker 2: in the nine am ol eight eleven this morning, I'm
- 32:05Speaker 2: gonna be asking you to be my girlfriend.
- 32:07Speaker 1: It was just kind of funny because once all the
- 32:09Speaker 1: friend group got together, it was so easy, like all
- 32:11Speaker 1: the nerves completely left. I felt like it was nice
- 32:15Speaker 1: being able to everyone get along. Because you got along
- 32:19Speaker 1: with everyone, it felt like incredibly Yeah.
- 32:21Speaker 2: I mean, it was a fun group and I was
- 32:22Speaker 2: hanging out with and I'm kind of sick, so I'm
- 32:25Speaker 2: literally names are escaping me. I can barely remember my
- 32:27Speaker 2: own name right now. But like, the girls were so great.
- 32:30Speaker 2: I took one of them back to let my brother's
- 32:31Speaker 2: dogs out because she lost her phone or something or
- 32:34Speaker 2: her phone got cracked. And so I hung out with
- 32:36Speaker 2: that crew. Literally even after you left. We were just
- 32:39Speaker 2: bopping around from bar to bar.
- 32:40Speaker 1: That's cool because that's like a Tampa crew too, so
- 32:42Speaker 1: we're like, it was.
- 32:43Speaker 2: A Tampa crew. I was recruiting in for Beason Bay Shore.
- 32:46Speaker 2: They've ghosted me since then.
- 32:47Speaker 1: Since then.
- 32:48Speaker 2: Yeah, But what's funny is when we were at Mandarin Hide,
- 32:50Speaker 2: so Scott's with his lady and the whole group of friends,
- 32:53Speaker 2: and I'm sitting there enjoying a nice glass of prosecco
- 32:58Speaker 2: on those lines, and I see this man as the
- 33:00Speaker 2: bar and I go, that's a hot man. I want
- 33:03Speaker 2: to get him on beas on Bayshore And I literally
- 33:06Speaker 2: trotted my ass. I left the friend group across the
- 33:08Speaker 2: bar and I's just like, are you single?
- 33:11Speaker 1: This is the most genius thing you've ever said? And
- 33:13Speaker 1: I literally said this at the bar. I was like,
- 33:15Speaker 1: what a way to just talk to men? Yeah, you
- 33:18Speaker 1: set up a page where you're in is hey if
- 33:20Speaker 1: you want to interview. She's like, all right, I'm gonna
- 33:22Speaker 1: go talk to this hot man.
- 33:23Speaker 2: Well a, it has been really good for my brand
- 33:25Speaker 2: Tampa wise, like associating me with Bayshore and Tampa and
- 33:30Speaker 2: the twenty five to thirty five crowd, like genuinely based
- 33:33Speaker 2: on bashore is a strategic career move. But also I'm like,
- 33:36Speaker 2: you know, side note, if I meet someone cute or
- 33:38Speaker 2: if he if he has a cute friend, like if
- 33:40Speaker 2: it's if it's not him, it might be a friend
- 33:42Speaker 2: of his. And it works out for me because I
- 33:45Speaker 2: went up to him. I was like, you're interactive. Do
- 33:47Speaker 2: you want to come on base on bashorre And he
- 33:49Speaker 2: was so cool about it. He immediately said, yes, we
- 33:50Speaker 2: set up a time.
- 33:51Speaker 1: Did you get interview?
- 33:52Speaker 2: Him yet I did it. Yeah, I posted him last week.
- 33:54Speaker 2: It's doing really well. The girls are eating him up.
- 33:56Speaker 1: Let me see this.
- 33:57Speaker 2: But I have a story about interviewing him. If we
- 34:00Speaker 2: can do a side note, quick take a note. So
- 34:03Speaker 2: I saw this guy across the bar. I was like,
- 34:04Speaker 2: I need to interview you. So I meet him out
- 34:06Speaker 2: on bash War last week and I had just bought
- 34:09Speaker 2: in like a new self tanning moves because I had
- 34:13Speaker 2: The Bachelor the Bachelorette this weekend, and so of course,
- 34:16Speaker 2: like I knew I needed to not be pale. And
- 34:19Speaker 2: I'm interviewing this guy. And the conversation was tough, and
- 34:24Speaker 2: I can talk to a brick wall, so like I'm fine,
- 34:26Speaker 2: but like it wasn't going super well before we started
- 34:29Speaker 2: the interview, and one of our mutual friends who will
- 34:33Speaker 2: tell you who this is afterwards, actually ran up and
- 34:35Speaker 2: said hi to him. And literally the second or mutual
- 34:38Speaker 2: friend ran up to the guy that I'm interviewing. I
- 34:41Speaker 2: literally go, we'll call him Jack. I go Jack, and
- 34:45Speaker 2: just for got meeting Jack. Are not friends like that?
- 34:47Speaker 2: And he just looks at me. He's like what I
- 34:49Speaker 2: was just like, it's something to you because I'm trying
- 34:51Speaker 2: to like show that I have social capital. I'm like, look,
- 34:54Speaker 2: guy that i'm interviewing men know me as well.
- 34:57Speaker 1: I'm a safe woman to talk to.
- 34:59Speaker 2: Safe woman to talk to you. And our mutual friend
- 35:01Speaker 2: is looking at me like I have foreheads and I'm like,
- 35:03Speaker 2: I'm kinda back up now. I'm like gonna ask me
- 35:05Speaker 2: and Jack are not as good of friends as I
- 35:07Speaker 2: thought we were. And so this whole interview, I'm like
- 35:10Speaker 2: just a little bit on edge, a little bit nervous
- 35:12Speaker 2: because I'm like, I've had a lot of gay guys
- 35:14Speaker 2: on I'm like, this is gonna be huge for the
- 35:15Speaker 2: straight girls. Like I know, this is gonna catch a
- 35:18Speaker 2: lot of a lot of honeys. And so I'm really
- 35:21Speaker 2: nervous during this interview. And at the very end he
- 35:25Speaker 2: got kind of adamant that he wanted to talk about X.
- 35:28Speaker 2: I'm like, I think I already asked you about X.
- 35:30Speaker 2: Like I asked him. I was like, what are your
- 35:31Speaker 2: X for Tampa women? And he as we get to
- 35:34Speaker 2: the interview, I'm like, Okay, have one more question. What
- 35:35Speaker 2: should it be? And he goes, oh, ask me about
- 35:37Speaker 2: X and he goes, yeah, my biggest X. And I
- 35:41Speaker 2: think I cut the first part out. He said like, oh,
- 35:42Speaker 2: I don't like to win girl jewels, and then he goes, yeah,
- 35:45Speaker 2: for me, if a girl doesn't have a good manicure,
- 35:48Speaker 2: that's a big ick for me. And you can see
- 35:50Speaker 2: in the the video. I immediately looked down in my
- 35:54Speaker 2: hands and for me like, manicures are just not the
- 35:56Speaker 2: thing that I'm spending money on because they're expensive and time,
- 36:00Speaker 2: you mean, and my nails chip constantly.
- 36:01Speaker 1: They know, yeah, they don't last, like you get it,
- 36:03Speaker 1: they don't last three days later you're like, I need
- 36:05Speaker 1: another one.
- 36:06Speaker 2: And so I looked down and I'm like, oh god,
- 36:07Speaker 2: there's free tannel over my hands and I'm sitting there.
- 36:11Speaker 2: It's like it's literally like he looked me in the
- 36:13Speaker 2: eyes and said, I think you're disgusting. Like that's that's
- 36:15Speaker 2: how it felt. And I don't know if you know this,
- 36:17Speaker 2: but I end every base on Bay Shore interviewed the
- 36:20Speaker 2: same way where I give him a high five, and
- 36:22Speaker 2: I was like, I don't want to touch this guy
- 36:24Speaker 2: with my hands. Now he's gonna think my hands are
- 36:26Speaker 2: so gross. He thinks my hands are so gros something.
- 36:28Speaker 2: So you just see me close the interview I'm like, hey,
- 36:33Speaker 2: but he was really nice. He sent me a couple
- 36:34Speaker 2: other guys who aren't coming on, but we referred to
- 36:37Speaker 2: a couple of people. But the girls are eating them up.
- 36:39Speaker 1: That's I mean, I think I might have found the guy.
- 36:41Speaker 1: Is it the really tall guy?
- 36:42Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 36:42Speaker 1: Yeah, that guy. He's getting a lot of attention.
- 36:44Speaker 2: Yeah. I knew when I saw in the bar. And
- 36:46Speaker 2: it's so funny. I feel like I'm fishing on Bay
- 36:48Speaker 2: Shore and I'm just walking out and being like, look, girls,
- 36:51Speaker 2: look what I caught.
- 36:52Speaker 1: You're holding up your prize.
- 36:54Speaker 2: I'm holding and like I was posting my my fish picture.
- 36:57Speaker 1: What were the other icks that he said? If he
- 36:59Speaker 1: said that one do you red?
- 37:00Speaker 2: Or the other one? Well, the first one he the first, well,
- 37:01Speaker 2: the when he was adamant about wanting to talk about it,
- 37:04Speaker 2: he said, when girls jewel, But the one that I
- 37:06Speaker 2: had asked him, I said, when it comes to Tampa girls,
- 37:08Speaker 2: like what's your biggest dick? If he could have said anything,
- 37:10Speaker 2: and he actually had a really great response, and I'm like, wow,
- 37:13Speaker 2: that actually really hits home with me. He said, a
- 37:16Speaker 2: lot of people in Tampa don't know what they're ready for.
- 37:21Speaker 2: He said, some people don't know if they want to
- 37:24Speaker 2: make it and then find somebody or if they want
- 37:26Speaker 2: to build a life with somebody.
- 37:29Speaker 1: This is fascinating because I feel like there's my first
- 37:32Speaker 1: initial reaction is that's so much pressure to this, Like,
- 37:35Speaker 1: at least what I think is allow life to just
- 37:38Speaker 1: do what life is like. If you find some pert
- 37:40Speaker 1: like the right person will make it with you. Yes,
- 37:42Speaker 1: that's kind of how I envisioned it. I'm like, I
- 37:44Speaker 1: haven't if I waited until I quote unquote made it. Yeah,
- 37:47Speaker 1: you know, I had people recommending that I wait till
- 37:49Speaker 1: like I'm forty before I'm like, all right, let me
- 37:52Speaker 1: definitely dive into this relationship. I don't know if that's
- 37:55Speaker 1: necessarily right for me, because I want somebody that's able
- 37:58Speaker 1: to see me now and then see me then and
- 38:00Speaker 1: be along the journey with me, and not someone that's
- 38:02Speaker 1: just jumping in with me for what I have done,
- 38:05Speaker 1: Oh for sure. And I think that's where sometimes I
- 38:07Speaker 1: think we get entangled. As long as you should be
- 38:10Speaker 1: able to balance Cohen so both, I would think.
- 38:14Speaker 2: That's what you would hope. So, but I mean it
- 38:16Speaker 2: struck a chord with me because I think a lot
- 38:18Speaker 2: a lot of times with women, sometimes your success can
- 38:21Speaker 2: peak if you get into a relationship at the wrong time,
- 38:24Speaker 2: just because it's a good point, and naturally you get
- 38:26Speaker 2: very excited about this person. You start doing like the
- 38:28Speaker 2: marriage and kids thing. And I do wonder like if
- 38:31Speaker 2: meeting the right person will curb any ambition I have.
- 38:35Speaker 2: And I have felt that way where I'm like, oh,
- 38:38Speaker 2: maybe I'm not supposed to meet somebody because I'm just
- 38:40Speaker 2: gonna get super super like complacent with life. If I
- 38:43Speaker 2: just like find someone.
- 38:44Speaker 1: You might I will. I think it's a lot of
- 38:45Speaker 1: people I've seen is like, once you have let's just say,
- 38:48Speaker 1: you dive in and you have all these aspirations and
- 38:51Speaker 1: these big dreams, and you get into the relationship and
- 38:53Speaker 1: you start the family and stuff, and it's that just
- 38:55Speaker 1: becomes another dream that becomes the new dream that you had,
- 38:58Speaker 1: and maybe everything else gets pushed aside.
- 39:00Speaker 2: Yeah, but then you also have to think about the
- 39:01Speaker 2: other person's dreams, Like whose dreams then become more important?
- 39:05Speaker 2: You know what I mean? Is there space for both
- 39:06Speaker 2: of you to have ambitions? Only one of us can
- 39:08Speaker 2: be a dreamer?
- 39:09Speaker 1: Damn, I guess I think that's where it's tough. That's
- 39:12Speaker 1: where it's like you got to talk to your partner
- 39:14Speaker 1: big time and make sure that they still feel seen,
- 39:15Speaker 1: because I definitely know some friends or some situations where
- 39:19Speaker 1: they stayed quiet and let the other person shine, and
- 39:23Speaker 1: in the back of their head they're like, I had
- 39:25Speaker 1: so much to give and maybe quote unquote, I don't
- 39:28Speaker 1: feel like I have enough time to be able to
- 39:30Speaker 1: truly shine like I would have if I would have
- 39:32Speaker 1: just waited.
- 39:33Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 39:33Speaker 1: But then it's like we said at the beginning, would
- 39:35Speaker 1: you have missed your person? Would the timeline have matched up?
- 39:38Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 39:39Speaker 1: All questions for the universe.
- 39:41Speaker 2: So big, philosophical, philosophical. I don't know how to say
- 39:44Speaker 2: this word on this podcast. Philosophical stuff there it is philosophical.
- 39:47Speaker 2: But yeah, it was a fun interview.
- 39:49Speaker 1: Tell us what happened after that day of the derby though,
- 39:51Speaker 1: because we went off and we went to the Rais game.
- 39:54Speaker 1: Incredible god on the Jumbo tron immediately, very exciting. We
- 39:58Speaker 1: were the most famous people in that Dan trop and
- 40:01Speaker 1: it was because of our outfits, like Milady and I
- 40:03Speaker 1: we had our nice outfits on from the derby, and
- 40:05Speaker 1: people I swear thought we were like some executives for
- 40:08Speaker 1: the Rais. I was getting photos taken with me. Oh no, Literally,
- 40:12Speaker 1: people would walk by the like I need to get
- 40:14Speaker 1: a photo with you. Professional photographers for the Rays. Wow,
- 40:18Speaker 1: We're like, oh my god, Candid.
- 40:20Speaker 2: Well that they knew you were Scotty from the radio.
- 40:23Speaker 1: Definitely not okay, I don't think so. They just thought
- 40:26Speaker 1: I was some dude in a blue suit. And I
- 40:27Speaker 1: was like, you know what, if there was ever a
- 40:29Speaker 1: day I might do that again. It's kind of like
- 40:30Speaker 1: I said, where I act like it's my anniversary at restaurants.
- 40:33Speaker 1: I might just wear suits to sporting events because that
- 40:35Speaker 1: made me feel very rich and very important.
- 40:37Speaker 2: Yeah, you also had like a light blue suit on,
- 40:39Speaker 2: so I feel like it went with the Rais vibe.
- 40:41Speaker 1: It was perfect. Yeah, but effect though, And so we
- 40:44Speaker 1: went off and did all that, and then we went
- 40:45Speaker 1: out to good Night John Boy, which is.
- 40:48Speaker 2: Well only because I was rage texting me.
- 40:50Speaker 1: You you were we were gonna meet up with Abby
- 40:52Speaker 1: and the rest of the crew afterwards were at the game,
- 40:56Speaker 1: and Abby's like, good night John Boy.
- 40:58Speaker 2: Now now, so I'll back up a little bit. I'll
- 41:03Speaker 2: tell you where I was at. So, after Scott and
- 41:04Speaker 2: I parted ways, I was with one of his lady
- 41:08Speaker 2: one of her lady friends. One of your lady's friends
- 41:12Speaker 2: had a broken phone, and so she like needed someone
- 41:14Speaker 2: to like trot around with her. So I was like, Okay,
- 41:15Speaker 2: well you can come back with me to Dampa because
- 41:17Speaker 2: I have to let my brother's dogs out. I completely
- 41:20Speaker 2: forgot I was dog sitting for my brother this weekend.
- 41:22Speaker 2: I was like, I've got uber bag. So we uber
- 41:24Speaker 2: there and then we go get chicken tenders and then
- 41:26Speaker 2: we go to good Night john Boy. Good Night john
- 41:28Speaker 2: Boy is my favorite bar in downtown Saint Pete. It
- 41:30Speaker 2: is so fun. I love to dance. I love a
- 41:32Speaker 2: vibe where I can just let loose and listen to
- 41:35Speaker 2: dance music. And so a thing about me is if
- 41:38Speaker 2: I'm dancing, I need other people to dance like because
- 41:40Speaker 2: in otherwise I feel weird.
- 41:41Speaker 1: Yeah, you're like, wait, solo on the dance floor.
- 41:43Speaker 2: Solo on the dance floor. So we show up. But
- 41:45Speaker 2: I guess their friends had a table at good Night
- 41:47Speaker 2: john Boy. Didn't realize that was a thing, And so
- 41:50Speaker 2: we get into like this secluded section of.
- 41:54Speaker 1: Good Night john Boy, like a private couch.
- 41:56Speaker 2: Yeah, like a private couch essentially, and I'm like, I'm
- 41:59Speaker 2: the only one dancing, and I'm just looking around. I'm like,
- 42:02Speaker 2: all these buffoons are just sitting here like just you know,
- 42:05Speaker 2: staring at me. I'm like, what is going on here?
- 42:07Speaker 2: So I just start rage texting Scott and his lady
- 42:10Speaker 2: and I go, you guys need to get here immediately.
- 42:12Speaker 2: This is an emergency. Nobody is dancing.
- 42:15Speaker 1: How was nobody dance?
- 42:16Speaker 2: How was nobody dancing on a Saturday night? You guys?
- 42:19Speaker 2: And so finally y'all showed up and I got to
- 42:21Speaker 2: dance for like twenty minutes, but I was mad. I
- 42:23Speaker 2: was like, what are you was doing? Dance?
- 42:25Speaker 1: Did you grab anybody's hand and bring them out the yes?
- 42:28Speaker 2: I mean I tried. I mean with all the girls.
- 42:29Speaker 2: I was like, girl, you know, because you don't necessarily
- 42:32Speaker 2: grab someone, but you're like maybe get in their face
- 42:34Speaker 2: and kind of like dance a little bit. And I'm
- 42:36Speaker 2: not going to force a good time on you. So
- 42:38Speaker 2: if you're not gonna dance, I'm not going to force
- 42:39Speaker 2: you to dance with me. So that was a little bummed.
- 42:42Speaker 1: Yeah, that one. You gotta go out like a dancing crew.
- 42:44Speaker 1: And I know my lady like she was down to dance.
- 42:47Speaker 2: She was that's why I texted you, guys.
- 42:49Speaker 1: She went on, and I heard, y'all. We got in
- 42:51Speaker 1: the boogie, but whenever it's because we walked in and
- 42:53Speaker 1: it was passed.
- 42:54Speaker 2: It was bumping.
- 42:55Speaker 1: I was like, you that is where I slowed down
- 42:58Speaker 1: because I'm like, if it's too I don't know. I
- 43:00Speaker 1: guess people talk about being overstimulated. I was over stimulated.
- 43:02Speaker 1: Or I was like, damn, it's packed, it's hot, it's loud,
- 43:07Speaker 1: all right, I'm all stand here and just bop. I'm
- 43:09Speaker 1: either going to commit to yelling at someone and talking
- 43:11Speaker 1: to them. By yelling, I mean talking because I can't hear,
- 43:13Speaker 1: or I'm gonna just get my ass sweaty as hell
- 43:15Speaker 1: and I'm going to hit the dance floor and just
- 43:17Speaker 1: go as hard as possible. And I chose in that moment.
- 43:19Speaker 1: I was like, I'm going to sit here and talk
- 43:21Speaker 1: or just be quiet and just watch, which was enjoyable. Yeah,
- 43:24Speaker 1: but I definitely got overstimulated quick because I was like,
- 43:26Speaker 1: I don't know what to do.
- 43:27Speaker 2: If you don't like the music, then it's not I
- 43:29Speaker 2: like the music.
- 43:30Speaker 1: It was just like if there was like half as
- 43:32Speaker 1: many people tear it up all day long, get me
- 43:35Speaker 1: on a table let, me sling drinks around.
- 43:37Speaker 2: Yeah. But that was the great part of the section
- 43:39Speaker 2: is we were kind of secluded from the rest of
- 43:40Speaker 2: the club.
- 43:41Speaker 1: Yeah, No, I mean we I mean I loved it.
- 43:43Speaker 1: For the time that we were there. I was like, oh,
- 43:45Speaker 1: this is great. Yeah, and then I like to get out.
- 43:47Speaker 2: But I did notice you guys came in. She danced
- 43:49Speaker 2: with me for like five minutes, and then you'll left.
- 43:51Speaker 1: Hell yeah, because I was like, we both were like,
- 43:53Speaker 1: we're tired, it over stimulated, it's a lot. So we
- 43:55Speaker 1: went to an entirely different section of downtown Saint Pete.
- 43:58Speaker 1: We went to Tampa Bay Drink, which is so far
- 44:03Speaker 1: opposite from what we were just doing. So it's more
- 44:05Speaker 1: of like a cocktail lounge where they have a piano
- 44:08Speaker 1: player and like a drummer and so they're just doing
- 44:11Speaker 1: these old classic songs where we're sipping on like a
- 44:13Speaker 1: French seventy five, and it was so nice and elegant
- 44:16Speaker 1: and quiet and you're able to talk. But we sat
- 44:19Speaker 1: there for hours, literally to the point where like her
- 44:21Speaker 1: and I were both like kind of falling asleep, like
- 44:22Speaker 1: we gotta go, We gotta get out of here. It's
- 44:24Speaker 1: been a long ass day and a long ass weekend
- 44:27Speaker 1: because we went out the night before, we were at
- 44:29Speaker 1: the hotel, we were at dinners, and after that night
- 44:32Speaker 1: it's like ah. But luckily it was like the first
- 44:34Speaker 1: weekend in a long time that it was not working.
- 44:37Speaker 1: We're supposed to do a pool party that got canceled,
- 44:39Speaker 1: so all Sunday it was just an easy Sunday and
- 44:42Speaker 1: we ended up going to this place. I don't know
- 44:45Speaker 1: what your day looked like after that, Well I'll tell you, well,
- 44:47Speaker 1: mine was a lot different mine. We went to this
- 44:49Speaker 1: place called like a Nata Farms. I surprised my lady
- 44:53Speaker 1: would like go in flower picking, and it was truly
- 44:57Speaker 1: splendid picking these big ass sunflowers, getting all these wild flowers,
- 45:01Speaker 1: making your own bouquet, having a glass of savvy b
- 45:03Speaker 1: on this beautiful like upstairs like porch area overlooking these
- 45:08Speaker 1: fields of flowers. Incredible, making dinner at home. A Sunday
- 45:13Speaker 1: that I have craved for a long time. No, how
- 45:15Speaker 1: did your look?
- 45:16Speaker 2: Yeah? Not that. Like if you could, if you could
- 45:20Speaker 2: literally pick up and pick an opposite day, that's how
- 45:24Speaker 2: mine went. Mine was actually the Sunday from hell. It
- 45:27Speaker 2: was kind of all my worst fears put into one. So,
- 45:31Speaker 2: as I mentioned, I was watched dogs sitting for my
- 45:33Speaker 2: brother so, which basically just meant I had to feed them,
- 45:37Speaker 2: take them out, do all the things. And so I
- 45:40Speaker 2: had already taken them out and fed them and taken
- 45:42Speaker 2: you know, played with them for a little bit, and
- 45:44Speaker 2: then I went back out to downtown Saint Pete. So
- 45:46Speaker 2: we went to good Night John Boy, and then afterwards
- 45:48Speaker 2: we went to walk them to the farm, which was
- 45:49Speaker 2: a really good time actually, And then I look at
- 45:51Speaker 2: my phone. I go, oh, it's having four percent left,
- 45:53Speaker 2: Like I need to go home. Was it was around
- 45:55Speaker 2: like eleven eleven thirty, and I was like, you know what,
- 45:57Speaker 2: I've been out all day four percent. I need to Uber.
- 46:00Speaker 2: So I get in my Uber and somewhere along the line,
- 46:03Speaker 2: I get very sick, and I guess the Uber driver,
- 46:07Speaker 2: who in hindsight was very nice, like think thinking back
- 46:09Speaker 2: to the memory, I was like, oh my god, he
- 46:10Speaker 2: was like so courteous. He just like pulled over and
- 46:11Speaker 2: let me throw up. After I throw up, I start
- 46:14Speaker 2: getting like shooting pains in my stomach and I immediately go, mmm,
- 46:18Speaker 2: something's not right. So I get back to my brother's house,
- 46:22Speaker 2: I let the dogs out, give them water, all the things,
- 46:25Speaker 2: and immediately just get in the shower, throw up, get
- 46:29Speaker 2: in bed, pass out, wake up at like seven am.
- 46:32Speaker 2: And I realized not to be TMI, but this is
- 46:35Speaker 2: a key part of the story is I started my
- 46:38Speaker 2: period and so I wake up. And for context, why
- 46:42Speaker 2: that's important is I have like debilitating periods that if
- 46:46Speaker 2: I don't get ibuprofen and immediately like I'm out for
- 46:49Speaker 2: the rest of the day. And so I'm like texting
- 46:52Speaker 2: my brother, I'm like, where's the ibuprofen, where's the ad
- 46:54Speaker 2: bl blah blah blah. I can't find it. So it
- 46:56Speaker 2: takes me like an hour to find it. After I
- 46:57Speaker 2: like text him and finally get some in, takes a
- 47:00Speaker 2: couple hours to like settle in, and I noticed one
- 47:03Speaker 2: of the dogs is thrown up. The living room is
- 47:07Speaker 2: just kind of disheveled and a mess. There's dishes in
- 47:09Speaker 2: the sink, or there's like two dishes in the sink,
- 47:11Speaker 2: but like it's just kind of not like not the
- 47:13Speaker 2: state you want your brother to walk in on. After
- 47:16Speaker 2: dog sitting and also after doing a good job dog
- 47:19Speaker 2: sitting for.
- 47:19Speaker 1: The whole like this is what's gonna be the reflection
- 47:21Speaker 1: of what I've done.
- 47:22Speaker 2: So anyway, I'm thinking I have until like one pm
- 47:25Speaker 2: until my brother gets back home. And I finally get
- 47:30Speaker 2: some movement in my legs and I go, okay, I
- 47:32Speaker 2: think I can like clean up a little bit. So
- 47:34Speaker 2: I start throwing things in the laundry bin and I
- 47:36Speaker 2: look outside. By the way, i'm naked, I look out.
- 47:40Speaker 2: I look outside and again like mess. Car under my eyes,
- 47:44Speaker 2: hair is a mess. I see my brother's fiance's car
- 47:47Speaker 2: in the road, and I immediately just go like, fuck,
- 47:50Speaker 2: this is the worst case scenario. So I throw on
- 47:53Speaker 2: a shirt from throw on a shirt and I peek
- 47:56Speaker 2: outside and I tell them I'm like I need two seconds.
- 47:59Speaker 1: Give me some time.
- 48:00Speaker 2: So I try to get as much done as possible.
- 48:02Speaker 2: But there's still like dog thrope on the floor all
- 48:04Speaker 2: these things. And finally I'm like, this is their house,
- 48:07Speaker 2: Like this is so embarrassing that they're just like standing outside.
- 48:10Speaker 2: So they come in obviously like they're upset. Naturally, the
- 48:13Speaker 2: house isn't like, oh wreck, but it doesn't look good
- 48:16Speaker 2: and I look like I'm some like alcoholic.
- 48:18Speaker 1: Feet off or like everything fine.
- 48:20Speaker 2: No, like everything's fine, Like that's the way I welcome
- 48:22Speaker 2: to my lair. And it's just truly like a series
- 48:27Speaker 2: of warst case scenarios because like my brother and I
- 48:29Speaker 2: don't really have a great relationship. He's very uptight. And
- 48:31Speaker 2: then of course, like the house is a total mess.
- 48:34Speaker 2: I look like I'm irresponsible, and I'm like no, like
- 48:36Speaker 2: I took such good care of these dogs all week
- 48:38Speaker 2: and long, like I let them out, I fed them,
- 48:41Speaker 2: I gave them water, I did all the freaking things,
- 48:43Speaker 2: and now this is how I'm gonna be remembered, is
- 48:45Speaker 2: like the walk of shame, sister in law. And so
- 48:48Speaker 2: I left, my mom's pissed. Everything about the day is
- 48:52Speaker 2: just like gone to absolute shit. I'm so sick for
- 48:55Speaker 2: the entire day, Like I literally can't move, like from
- 48:58Speaker 2: my lady issues.
- 48:59Speaker 1: Yeah, it's like on top of it, are also going
- 49:00Speaker 1: through Yeah.
- 49:01Speaker 2: I know, I'm like I wish I was, like I don't.
- 49:03Speaker 2: I wish you guys could understand, like I would have
- 49:05Speaker 2: had this cleaned up. But like I feel like I've
- 49:07Speaker 2: been shot.
- 49:07Speaker 1: Yeah, like I'm going through it like I'm.
- 49:09Speaker 2: I'm literally going through it, and like granted, the hungover
- 49:11Speaker 2: part is my fault, but everything else is not.
- 49:14Speaker 1: Yeah, like get a little grace, a little grace.
- 49:17Speaker 2: It was a long way, and so my brother's fiance
- 49:19Speaker 2: was really nice about it, and I'm like really grateful
- 49:21Speaker 2: for that for that, but I was like, oh my god,
- 49:23Speaker 2: like can I have her bouchret next weekend? And like,
- 49:25Speaker 2: I really hope it's just not awkward.
- 49:27Speaker 1: Did you feel like anxiety from that too?
- 49:28Speaker 2: You're like, I'm so much anxiety. It was just like
- 49:30Speaker 2: it was I think the overarching emotion was just shame.
- 49:33Speaker 2: Like I felt like really intense shame and just embarrassment.
- 49:37Speaker 2: Like my brother walked in on me in like a
- 49:38Speaker 2: very vulnerable moment. I'm like, I'm like, oh, the house
- 49:41Speaker 2: is a mess. At your house. I swear the dogs
- 49:43Speaker 2: are fine. I'm like half naked. Like it's just very
- 49:46Speaker 2: it was so awkward.
- 49:47Speaker 1: Gosh, So all day were you just like just rolling
- 49:50Speaker 1: through those thoughts in your head?
- 49:51Speaker 2: Yeah, it was terrible. It was horrible.
- 49:53Speaker 1: That sucks. I'm sorry you're going to do that.
- 49:55Speaker 2: I know that's over and we had a great time
- 49:57Speaker 2: on the bouchorette, so I think all was well, but like, yeah,
- 50:00Speaker 2: it was bad.
- 50:01Speaker 1: Made up for it.
- 50:02Speaker 2: It was a worst case scenario Sunday.
- 50:04Speaker 1: You know, well, I will give you some defense. Did
- 50:06Speaker 1: they pay you to watch the dogs? No?
- 50:08Speaker 2: And they didn't need to.
- 50:09Speaker 1: Well no, I'm not saying they did, but they know
- 50:11Speaker 1: that's what you getta.
- 50:11Speaker 2: So I think we called the dog I think we
- 50:14Speaker 2: called it even because I'm like, you don't need to
- 50:15Speaker 2: pay me. You've got a free dog letter for the weekend.
- 50:17Speaker 2: The dogs love me like kids and animals like they're
- 50:19Speaker 2: obsessed with me. Of course, so I know everybody except
- 50:24Speaker 2: for me loves me and my brother. So yeah, it
- 50:27Speaker 2: ended up being fine. We called it even. I think
- 50:29Speaker 2: we can laugh about it. Maybe, question Mark, we'll.
- 50:32Speaker 1: See yet a month.
- 50:33Speaker 2: Till the wedding, a month and a half, two months.
- 50:36Speaker 1: What'd your brother do for the bachelor party to go
- 50:38Speaker 1: on that?
- 50:38Speaker 2: Yet? They are going in June and they are going
- 50:41Speaker 2: to Pinehurst Golf.
- 50:42Speaker 1: Oh, just like a golf getaway.
- 50:44Speaker 2: Yes, he's a massive bachelor party. It's like seventeen people.
- 50:47Speaker 1: Good lord, I know, good for him.
- 50:50Speaker 2: It's crazy. I'm like, I don't even know seventeen people either.
- 50:52Speaker 1: I'm gonna have like four people on my bachelor party.
- 50:54Speaker 1: That's not even existent, I know, and it's probably gonna
- 50:57Speaker 1: get smaller by the time that time period comes.
- 50:59Speaker 2: That's what I was telling I'm my cousin this week,
- 51:00Speaker 2: and I was like, when I finally do my bouchelor
- 51:02Speaker 2: and I'm like, it's me and you, girl, It's me
- 51:03Speaker 2: and you and you can bring your baby. It's just
- 51:07Speaker 2: gonna be us. Yeah, I know it's on a beach.
- 51:08Speaker 1: Rex.
- 51:09Speaker 2: I'm not like a kid's person. I like, I fucking
- 51:11Speaker 2: lover baby.
- 51:12Speaker 1: There you go.
- 51:13Speaker 2: It's so cute. Granted, I like, I'm like, I have
- 51:16Speaker 2: like a five minute patience to be able to like
- 51:19Speaker 2: handle a baby, holding a baby and stuff. But after that, Mike,
- 51:22Speaker 2: I just love to look at your baby.
- 51:23Speaker 1: There you go.
- 51:23Speaker 2: Maybe so cute.
- 51:24Speaker 1: I decided after this week because we got to meet
- 51:26Speaker 1: a lot of new people on the retreat. I was like,
- 51:28Speaker 1: I am committed. And I say this because I just
- 51:31Speaker 1: said I have four people on a bachelor party. I'm
- 51:33Speaker 1: committed to making new friends. Really decided that because I
- 51:36Speaker 1: met some really cool people on this retreat, like our age.
- 51:39Speaker 2: So are those your new friends? Now?
- 51:40Speaker 1: Yeah? Well I need and I admit this. I am
- 51:43Speaker 1: so bad about being intentional with hangouts. Yeah, like it
- 51:46Speaker 1: is on me, Like I think a lot of them
- 51:47Speaker 1: are going to join on the pool party that we
- 51:49Speaker 1: got to be a Sunday.
- 51:51Speaker 2: That'll be fun.
- 51:51Speaker 1: So it'd be cool to be able to have a
- 51:53Speaker 1: second hangout with them and be intentional about seeing them.
- 51:56Speaker 2: So how did these people find out about the yoga retreat?
- 51:59Speaker 1: So it's our car practic friends. So they're the ones
- 52:01Speaker 1: that put it on together. So they're just great in
- 52:03Speaker 1: the community. They go to all these events and so
- 52:05Speaker 1: they know all these different people. And they also you know,
- 52:08Speaker 1: I've been a client to this chiropractic because they're friends
- 52:10Speaker 1: for years. Yeah, so I've known them, I've worked out
- 52:13Speaker 1: with them, and they brought people in that they've just
- 52:16Speaker 1: known through the past couple of years. Maybe they go
- 52:18Speaker 1: to get you know, go to the same yoga place together. Yeah,
- 52:22Speaker 1: maybe they do run club together, or maybe they're just
- 52:24Speaker 1: clients and there's twenty spots to fill and they were
- 52:26Speaker 1: able to fill it like no tomorrow. Wow. So I
- 52:28Speaker 1: got to meet people that I have never met in
- 52:30Speaker 1: my life and we all just gelled so easily. But
- 52:33Speaker 1: that was one of the biggest things I was like
- 52:35Speaker 1: journaling about is like Scott. You need to be intentional
- 52:37Speaker 1: about friends.
- 52:38Speaker 2: But I mean it is hard. I mean meeting people
- 52:40Speaker 2: is difficult. Yeah.
- 52:41Speaker 1: Well there's a group that I just learned about. It's
- 52:43Speaker 1: called Saint Pete Ballers. Okay, this is a couple that
- 52:46Speaker 1: was on this retreat. They founded this group. It's a
- 52:48Speaker 1: volleyball group. And I was like, you know what, maybe
- 52:50Speaker 1: I should join that. Do I play volleyball? Absolutely not.
- 52:53Speaker 1: I have no idea.
- 52:54Speaker 2: What about joining a club where you do play the sport.
- 52:56Speaker 1: Well, what I thought is interesting is they didn't play
- 52:58Speaker 1: it either. A couple of years ago they started playing.
- 53:00Speaker 1: They loved it so much, in fact, that they founded
- 53:02Speaker 1: this organization which is massive.
- 53:03Speaker 2: Wow.
- 53:04Speaker 1: So I'm like, well, I could maybe do the same thing,
- 53:06Speaker 1: or at least commit to joining something. I need to
- 53:10Speaker 1: put myself around people. Because I was like, damn it,
- 53:13Speaker 1: so many of these people in the group like knew
- 53:14Speaker 1: each other from that either that organization or like other
- 53:17Speaker 1: little clubs that they're part of. I was like, it's time. Yeah,
- 53:20Speaker 1: And I was joking with you, like I think it
- 53:21Speaker 1: was like the last podcast. I was like, got to
- 53:23Speaker 1: join a club?
- 53:24Speaker 2: I know, but I need to join a club of something.
- 53:26Speaker 2: I want to do, Like I don't want to dread
- 53:28Speaker 2: having to go to kickball every week.
- 53:29Speaker 1: Yeah, well then maybe it's not kick I don't know.
- 53:31Speaker 1: You gotta find the thing that you actually like, I know,
- 53:33Speaker 1: And that's why I was like, what do I want
- 53:35Speaker 1: to do? Do I want to play a sport? And
- 53:37Speaker 1: I think my biggest thing is I don't want to
- 53:38Speaker 1: commit to it weekly. But you could skip a couple
- 53:41Speaker 1: of weeks, yeah, or just speak casually about it, you know,
- 53:44Speaker 1: But something that forces you with other people.
- 53:46Speaker 2: Maybe I'll join like a book club. But that's the
- 53:48Speaker 2: other thing. I don't want to be forced to read,
