- 0:23chickens. Hey everybody.
- 0:28Good morning from the chicken coop.
- 0:30Ooh, so today, I want to talk to you about the energy that you
- 0:34bring two children. And, you know, all these baby
- 0:38chicks. I have out here right now.
- 0:40I really got me thinking about things and especially little
- 0:43little little things, like kids, because I'm watching this movie,
- 0:47group of little chicks that we have, and they are by far.
- 0:49Some of the most confident, chicks we have ever had, and I'm
- 0:53looking at them. And I'm saying, why is that the
- 0:55case, you know, what is so different about this group of
- 0:58little chicks as opposed to the other groups of Checks and it
- 1:01got me thinking about, you know, how we do with our children.
- 1:05And, you know, even in my own situation, I was raised by
- 1:08someone who had one parent that was extremely confident and
- 1:13always like on par and then I had another parent, my, you
- 1:17know, who was much more nervous as I talk to you guys before
- 1:20about it. My mother was very much an
- 1:21anxious nervous person. My father was much more
- 1:24confident. So I was blessed with having
- 1:26both of these traits built into me and I look at now, this is
- 1:30the Second season that this mom has raised eggs and she's so
- 1:34much more confident. And the chicks are so much more
- 1:36confident and what she's bringing to them, and how she's
- 1:39teaching them, and how she's so much more skilled and how these
- 1:42babies are just so much better. So, it's got me thinking about,
- 1:47you know, what energy are you bringing to your children?
- 1:50It doesn't matter their age. They could be too, or they could
- 1:53be 22. It's 42.
- 1:56It doesn't really make much of a difference.
- 1:58But what energy are you bringing to them?
- 2:00Are Bringing and instilling confidence in them or you
- 2:03instilling doubt in there. And oftentimes the questions
- 2:07that we ask are what really pushes it.
- 2:10So my mother was great at asking questions that made me it
- 2:13absolutely instantaneously go down and out.
- 2:16Vortex always scared the crap out of me and made me
- 2:20uncomfortable but that's what went on in her head.
- 2:23My daughter has a very different experience because I
- 2:26purposefully thought I was never going to live that way.
- 2:29Now I wasn't going to put it Out in the world.
- 2:31But I was going to be very conscientious of what went on in
- 2:33my own head, to try to get rid of it didn't mean I didn't have
- 2:35to deal with it but I wasn't going to pass it on my son is
- 2:38even more different because he has a father.
- 2:42My husband is very, very good with my son about being on point
- 2:46in his masculine energy. Teaching my son to be very
- 2:49confident as a young man which is fantastic and I love that.
- 2:53It's my job. Also to instill a little bit
- 2:56more of that. Like, you know, okay, you know,
- 2:59be conscientious be a One more careful obviously just as a mom
- 3:04would do with a male, but at the same time, I don't like to
- 3:07induce doubt. I want him to be confident but I
- 3:09want him to be conscientious and there is a difference.
- 3:13So when you start thinking about the energy that you show up with
- 3:17and you're sharing with your children, I think it's an
- 3:20incredibly fascinating study to think about, well, how am I
- 3:25answering these questions? Am I asking them in ways, that
- 3:28show them that I trust them. A thinking or am I asking them
- 3:32questions in ways that make them doubt they're thinking, am I
- 3:35asking probing questions or am I asking leading questions?
- 3:39Am I giving them good information?
- 3:41Or am I giving them information that's going to make them feel
- 3:44uncomfortable about their choices and their and whatnot.
- 3:47So I'm bringing this to your attention because it's only
- 3:51going to help you be a better person but it's also going to
- 3:53help them in the process. And so many times we think we're
- 3:58doing the right thing by pushing them in.
- 4:00Direction that we would take but their life is their life and all
- 4:04we can do is say well these are the things that I would
- 4:07consider. So one of the things that I've
- 4:09really developed with my daughter is just pointing out
- 4:13and do this with my son to, but he, with my daughter,
- 4:16specifically, I will give her information and I say, well, if
- 4:21I were in your shoes and I knew exactly what you knew, I would
- 4:24consider ABC and then I let her know.
- 4:27But I and then she would say well, which one would you take?
- 4:30And I'd say, well, I'd probably take this one.
- 4:32And for this reason, however, I'm not you, and you have to
- 4:36make the choice based on what your facts are.
- 4:39Not my facts. And I can tell you, I know, for
- 4:44100% certainty that she always says, well that's really
- 4:48helpful. Thank you, because she knows
- 4:50that it's coming from a place of distinctions that are based on
- 4:55her and my experience melded together and that she can look
- 4:59at it and not just think I'm trying to Shove her to a way
- 5:02that I want her to go because sometimes I say I would not do
- 5:05it, but I think you should do it based on, I'm being very honest
- 5:09about it. So, take this all into
- 5:11consideration. Think about what you're bringing
- 5:13to the table. Put yourself into a better
- 5:15headspace before you have conversations with them.
- 5:19Get yourself into that, place of being a thoughtful guider, as
- 5:24opposed to just someone who's living through the habit of
- 5:26where they were. I hope you guys have a very
- 5:29blessed day and I We'll see you all tomorrow morning.
- 5:32Bye. We'll see you all tomorrow
- 5:31morning. Bye.
