- 0:24really interesting discussion lined up.
- 0:26Is it true that the shares love or hate the companions of the
- 0:30Sallallahu Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihi.
- 0:32How does the last Pantala talk about the companions on the
- 0:34whole of Quran? How do we hear about them in the
- 0:36hadith? This is a really important
- 0:38discussion to talk about brother sisters, so we'll see where it
- 0:41takes us. I can't do it alone.
- 0:44As always, have my trusted Co host and my companion in
- 0:47conversation saying I. Love how you doing?
- 1:01I'm better now. Known that I'm your companion.
- 1:04What sort of companion are you? I'm joking, I'm.
- 1:07Joking sha Allah won that we go agenda together.
- 1:09And sha Allah, how's how's things?
- 1:11How's your week? Hamdallah has is, is.
- 1:13It's been good #1 because it's been holidays, holiday season,
- 1:16so, you know, spending more time with the family.
- 1:18Yeah, yeah, Being able to sit back a little, but still working
- 1:21here and there. Yeah, yeah.
- 1:22But how? How was your break?
- 1:24Yeah, it's good Hamdallah. We had Majalis of last few days
- 1:27for the Waffart of Melbourne and yeah it was amazing.
- 1:34Well, Daniel Buchbara Sheikh Hussam Altar, who is a friend of
- 1:40the podcast, he sends his alarm as well.
- 1:43Right. He's a big friend.
- 1:44Yeah, he's a big friend. Most about you.
- 1:46You spoke to him, right? Yeah, he was interested in
- 1:50coming. His schedule was packed out.
- 1:52So he said next time in Charlotte, well, sad, sadly.
- 1:55We would have loved to have him on.
- 1:56Yeah, yeah, yeah, I I know he's also been recommended.
- 1:59You know, sometimes we release a question.
- 2:01Who would you like to see on the podcast?
- 2:03His his name, Marshall has popped up a number of times.
- 2:06And in Charlotte he did say he did promise us that whenever
- 2:09he's in town next time in Charlotte, he'll make time for.
- 2:11US, Charlotte and Charlotte and Charlotte.
- 2:13New Year's coming up. It is, it is.
- 2:16I'm not sure if we should be looking forward to the New Year.
- 2:18Why? Huh.
- 2:19Why? I don't know.
- 2:21Maybe next year we die. Allahu Alam.
- 2:22Allahu Alam. Are we ready to die?
- 2:24You know, there's so much questions we need to ask.
- 2:25We've asked the right questions. You're right.
- 2:27Yeah. But I have AI have a serious
- 2:29question here as well. And I've seen not one, not two,
- 2:31but three Dulfa cars on you today.
- 2:38What's your favorite moments of the year?
- 2:39My two favorite moments of the year.
- 2:44It's a bit scary. Yeah.
- 2:48My two favorite moments is, well, one of my favorite moments
- 2:52is when I come here on the podcast, if I'm honest, because
- 2:55there's because there's so much to learn and whatnot.
- 2:57We've been blessed with so much amazing guests that I can go
- 3:00home and be happy and satisfied. I learn something new because
- 3:03it's very rare that you spend your day-to-day life without
- 3:07learning something new. It's always, you know, recycled
- 3:08conversations. While Hamdullah has been very
- 3:10beneficial, the second one, I'll leave it to myself.
- 3:13That's fine. Yeah.
- 3:15I'm not going to mention it. Yeah.
- 3:16OK, All right. Because I'm scared if I say the
- 3:20wrong thing, someone might get upset.
- 3:23So I hope you don't meet me. Yeah, that's good, man.
- 3:26It's been a busier. It's been a good year.
- 3:28We've grown now Hamdal, we're at 5000 subscribers on YouTube.
- 3:32So thank you everyone. I think we're on a couple
- 3:34thousand on Spotify, which is cool.
- 3:37Yeah, we're growing much. All our communities growing next
- 3:39year, our target by the end of next year.
- 3:41I told I know. I told you and you said whoa and
- 3:43most balls like it should be more.
- 3:45I think it's a big target, but you know they're going to make
- 3:49it happen in Charlotte. Do you remember what we said?
- 3:5120K or. 20,000 subscribers 20,000 Charlotte subscribers in
- 3:55Charlotte by this time next year.
- 3:57Let's make it happen. Nothing's impossible.
- 3:58Share with your friends and family.
- 4:00And if you haven't subscribed by now, just hit that subscribe
- 4:02button and help us reach that target in Charlotte.
- 4:04I'm going to go back to my question.
- 4:05Yeah, go on. I don't see one, not two, but
- 4:08three though, four cars on you. What is happening?
- 4:112/3 What's going on? This is a hoodie, of course,
- 4:19that was gifted to us by farkala.co.uk, who of course are
- 4:23friends of the podcast and who worked with us before.
- 4:27And yeah, I got this Dufaqara a few days ago, which we're
- 4:30talking about. Where's yours usually wet one?
- 4:33I usually wear one at my teenage years.
- 4:35I I haven't rocked one if I can say for many, many years.
- 4:39I just feel I don't. I'm not going to say it's not my
- 4:41fashion or something. Who wouldn't want to rock the
- 4:43Fakar on the neck, you know? But I think my one is engraved
- 4:46in the heart. I don't need to show it.
- 4:50It's there and he knows it and I love it.
- 4:57Now. Leave it out.
- 5:00Leave it out. It makes Noor.
- 5:02On top of Noor. Turn off the lights.
- 5:06You know, this is the thing. Yeah.
- 5:07When we talk about the car, yeah, you know people like you
- 5:10don't say that Ali Abdir Balib, Ali Salaam is the companion of
- 5:15Assault Allah. It kind of like makes me feel a
- 5:19bit uneasy, edgy in my heart. Because, you know, he's more
- 5:22than just a companion. He's not a companion.
- 5:23That's the thing. He's not calling him a companion
- 5:26is like and it's being a companion.
- 5:29A true companion is a respect, high level states.
- 5:33But calling Ali Ali Salaam just a companion is disrespectful to
- 5:36him. His status, his stature, the
- 5:39what he did in the past and what he continues to do today is
- 5:42disrespectful. And we're talking about in, in
- 5:44my opinion, the well, not just in my opinion, this is the
- 5:46opinion of of of of Allah, Alamar, all the Ahmed basically
- 5:51Hussam and of of Salah Muhammad Sallahu Alaihi Ali is #2.
- 5:56He's the second most knowledgeable human being that
- 5:59alas, Manthalah created. You know, so it's something we
- 6:04say a lot. When you say #2, my heart
- 6:05dropped you. Know.
- 6:07Because we're used to hearing he's number.
- 6:08One he's number one and he'll always be one.
- 6:10Well solallah is the most knowledgeable the most Habib
- 6:13Allah you know I mean minin is is of course willi Allah like
- 6:17you know this we have Habib Allah and then you have
- 6:21Williallah Assadallah yadullah ainallah nor Allah like.
- 6:26If you go on. People say he's just a
- 6:33companion. He's not just a companion.
- 6:34He's more, he's more and I and I and I.
- 6:36And I think the question we should ask today is, you know,
- 6:39here you are speaking about Imam Ali Ali Salaam saying he's more
- 6:43than just a companion. And I echo everything that
- 6:45you've said here, but does that mean we disrespect other
- 6:49companions? Because I think, I think the
- 6:51real question should be here is do Shia love or hate the
- 6:54companions of Rasul Allah, Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihi
- 6:58Wasalam. Let's start there.
- 7:00You start. No, you start.
- 7:01You go. You go.
- 7:02You go. The people who say, let me get
- 7:06this straight, OK, the people who say that Shia disrespect the
- 7:10companions, yes, people actually say Shia disrespect the
- 7:13companions. They do.
- 7:14I hear it all the time. Where are you getting this
- 7:17information? But let's let's take it, OK,
- 7:18let's, let's, let's come from, let's roll with it for a minute,
- 7:21OK? The Shia treat the companions of
- 7:24Osullah Muhammad Sallahu Alaih in the same way you treat any
- 7:28group of people, right? So if, for example, you were to
- 7:31talk about any demographic, any population, you were to say all
- 7:34people who earn below a certain wage or all people who are over
- 7:39a certain age, for example, are good people or they are blessed
- 7:43people or they are bad people, that that doesn't make sense,
- 7:46right? Because you're grouping hundreds
- 7:49of thousands, especially when it comes to companions.
- 7:52Yeah, into one opinion, one narrative that does not work
- 7:56logically speaking for the Shia or for that the Sunnah.
- 7:59Right. So the Shia, we view the
- 8:00companions in three categories and these are categories defined
- 8:04by Las Pantal and we can go into them inshallah later.
- 8:07The first category are those of which who gave their all for the
- 8:10sake of Islam. They believed in La Ilaha Al
- 8:14Allah, not just believed in it, they enabled that belief into
- 8:18their day-to-day life. So those their, their, their
- 8:20belief translated into action. You know the second group of
- 8:23those are those who were Muslim but maybe in times lacks
- 8:27sincerity or maybe for example had questionable actions they
- 8:30may have done something which was disproved of by the Holy
- 8:33Prophet Muhammad, Sallallahu Ali, Ali.
- 8:35And the third group of those who are so-called Companions are
- 8:39those who joined Islam either for personal or political
- 8:42reasons, to infiltrate their religion for their own gain or
- 8:45those who are prostated after Holy Prophet passed away.
- 8:47OK, so those who joined Islam and the Left after the Prophet
- 8:50died, or those who joined Islam but never actually joined, we
- 8:52see the likes of Yazidim, Maharia, Maharia, Ibn Ibn ABI
- 8:56Sufian. These are classic examples of
- 8:58those. And there's hadith.
- 8:59You know, in the books of our brothers, we can go into them
- 9:03are those who joined religion and the left, or joined religion
- 9:06by by tongue lip service but never actually believed it in
- 9:09their hearts. So do the Shias hate the
- 9:11Companions? No.
- 9:13Come on I challenge anyone tell me who loves the the companions
- 9:18to the to the degree where the true shell of companions you
- 9:22know Abu Dhabi, Kafari Solimano Mohammadi, Bilal Nokdad.
- 9:25Amar Hajar Salman. You know there's this list goes
- 9:28on on and on and on we can go for days talking about these
- 9:32companions. So no, I I find that
- 9:34disingenuous as a statement for. This.
- 9:37I love that clarification. It's amazing and it's one that
- 9:40resonates not just with me but with every lover of Imam.
- 9:45Because well before I even get into the conversation, let me
- 9:48just say someone might be listening what as a companion.
- 9:52You know they can get confused. What's an imam?
- 9:54What's a companion? Sometimes they even get confused
- 9:56between the Imam and the Imam of a Masjid for example.
- 9:58But a companion is someone who is close to Rasul, Allah,
- 10:01Muhammad, Sallallahu Aliwali, Salem in the context of this
- 10:04conversation. But in general, a companion is
- 10:06always considered either a friend or let's say, a disciple
- 10:10or a comrade of one of Allah's messengers.
- 10:13So we had, for example, Aisa Ali Salaam, He had disciples, Musa
- 10:18Ali Salaam, He had companions. That's all.
- 10:19Allah Muhammad has the best of companions.
- 10:21Allahu Ali Ali Wasalam. So I think the conversation here
- 10:24today is, do we do we respect them?
- 10:25Do we not respect them? We're going to find out and
- 10:27we're going to start it this way.
- 10:29Yeah, let's take it on both. So how?
- 10:30How do other? So, for example, you said the
- 10:34opinion of how we define companions.
- 10:37What is the general consensus? OK, sure Fiani from From what I
- 10:41understand and I can be corrected.
- 10:44Let me know in the comments. The way we see companionship
- 10:47from the school of the Ethel based Ani Matala Salati of
- 10:50Salaam. As you mentioned there were
- 10:51three categories, one of them being is that they believe in
- 10:53Allah. Subhanahu Wataila and his
- 10:55oneness full toe hate. There's no shirk involved
- 10:58whatsoever, #2 They believe in Muhammad, Rasulullah Sallallahu
- 11:02aliwali, Salem as the final messenger and he comes with the
- 11:04message of Allah. But the number 3 is what makes
- 11:07us different. This is where the difference
- 11:09come is that did they spend their lives for the sake of
- 11:13Allah, rasulallah and Islam until the very final moments or
- 11:17did their hearts waver? Did they change later on or did
- 11:20they become a companion starting as a monarch from day one just
- 11:23as tongue as you mentioned and not truly in the heart.
- 11:25The belief wasn't there. See, this is where we differ
- 11:28with our brothers. And then listen to know what you
- 11:30want in the Sunni school of thought.
- 11:33And I think in all the schools of thought when it comes to like
- 11:35Shafi, humbly Maliki, all these people, they believe anyone that
- 11:41SAT, walked, talked, ate with the prophet is considered a
- 11:47companion. It's considered righteous, it's
- 11:50considered, you know, it's a no go zone.
- 11:52You cannot dissect them. You cannot read into them.
- 11:57You cannot question them. You cannot say, for example, was
- 11:59this wrong, was this right? Whatever they said, it's like
- 12:02Hodja, do you understand? So there's like they call it, I
- 12:05think Adalat of Sahaba. That's the right terminology
- 12:09where they are just in every sense.
- 12:11You can't question them. We say no because some of them,
- 12:15they can deviate from the path. That's.
- 12:16Very true. Some of them can later on become
- 12:18hypocrites. Some of them later on can change
- 12:21the son of Muhammad Sallallallahu alayhi alayhi
- 12:23wasallam. So there is a clear difference
- 12:25between how we see sahaba and how they see sahaba.
- 12:29Generically. It can be the same.
- 12:31I don't speak on their behalf, but the way they do it, I don't
- 12:35think it's the right way because you can use.
- 12:37If we use that in a different scenario, that means everything
- 12:40is right and there's nothing wrong I understand.
- 12:43So there's like some differences here and there.
- 12:45Yeah, I mean, like, I I wouldn't be surprised.
- 12:47I kind of get it. If you're to say anyone that
- 12:49interact with the Holy Prophet Muhammad is blessed, Of course,
- 12:52bro. You're blessed to be amongst
- 12:53those who interact with the Prophet, AIDS spokes at walk,
- 12:56talked with the prophet, fought alongside him, you know, these
- 12:59are you. It's not difficult to believe
- 13:02that people would say anyone who falls within that category
- 13:06should be considered a companion.
- 13:07I get it. But yeah, at the same time,
- 13:11these are fallible human beings and they're not pro.
- 13:14They are prone to error like all other human beings, those who
- 13:17are not the hodja of Allah's Montallah on earth.
- 13:20And even in the Holy Quran Allah's montallahs swirl to al
- 13:23fat. Verse #29.
- 13:26It's a long verse, but I'll just read the beginning.
- 13:28Bismillah Rahmah Rahim Muhammad is the messenger of Allah and
- 13:31those who are with him are strong against the unbelievers,
- 13:34but they are compassionate amongst each other.
- 13:36You will see them and how they prostate themselves within
- 13:39prayer, grace from Allah and His good pleasure.
- 13:41On their faces are their marks being the traces of their
- 13:45prostration, their sujood. This is their similitude in the
- 13:48Torah. And then it goes on to talk
- 13:50about the Injeel and so on and so forth.
- 13:52Towards the end of the verse Allah says Allah has promised
- 13:56those amongst them who believe and do righteous deeds.
- 13:58Forgiveness and a great reward question here.
- 14:01So Allah is pointing out that the companions have a lofty
- 14:04status. They're saying that in the face
- 14:06of the the disbelievers they have strength.
- 14:09They're strong against the disbelievers but amongst
- 14:11themselves they're soft hearted, they're compassionate.
- 14:13But at the end of the Ayah Allah spandah, Allah talks about how
- 14:16Allah has promised those amongst them who believe and who do
- 14:20righteous deeds forgiveness and a great reward.
- 14:23Why did Allah spandah Allah not just say Allah promises those
- 14:28companions forgiveness and a great award?
- 14:31Why did he say those who believe righteous and do righteous deeds
- 14:36forgiveness and a great award? It's because Allah is singling
- 14:39out those who do believe and do righteous deeds and those who
- 14:41don't. Because there's a clear
- 14:42distinction here to be made that not all of the companions
- 14:46logically speaking, could have never made us in.
- 14:48If we're talking about the event of Ghadira, which we talk about
- 14:51all the time, some narration say between 100 to 120,000 people
- 14:55gathered after the last Hajj of Rasulullah and was present at
- 15:00the event of Ghadirahim. Now, you know, how can we say
- 15:04that 120,000 people are are infallible or you know, not
- 15:08prone to error. So yeah, it it just makes sense.
- 15:12I just with your permission say I just want to talk about the
- 15:14the other two groups of the companions as well for just a
- 15:17couple of minutes. We talked about the first group
- 15:20earlier, which are those and you mentioned as well those who
- 15:22believe in Allah, Allah, Allah, Muhammad, Al, Allah.
- 15:25The second group are those who are Muslim but not entirely
- 15:27sincere. OK, so there's a couple of eyes
- 15:29in the Holy Quran, for example Suratul Muhammad verse #38.
- 15:33If you turn your back from the path, Allah will substitute you
- 15:38in place for another group of people and they won't be like
- 15:41you. They won't make the same
- 15:42mistakes you did. Another example, Holy Quran
- 15:45verse #4, chapter 49, verse number 20.
- 15:47You who believe, do not raise your voices above the voice of
- 15:51the Holy Prophet, lest your deeds become null when you do
- 15:53not perceive there were so many incidents where the companions
- 15:57would go against the will of the solar.
- 15:59Calamity of Thursday. Calamity of Thursday.
- 16:02At the time of Battle of Butter there was the issue of Fidia, of
- 16:05the ransom money of the captives the Holy Prophet said to to free
- 16:08them in in, in and reciprocation of the Fidia and they said no.
- 16:15The Battle of Taboog. When the Prophet told them to
- 16:18slaughter the camels to save lives, the same people went
- 16:21against it. The Treaty of Hudaibiya, when
- 16:23the Holy Prophet said we want to make peace with the people of
- 16:25Makkah and the same companions went against it.
- 16:27They even cast doubt on the prophethood of the Holy Prophet.
- 16:30And then of course the calamity of the Thursday when who is it?
- 16:34Osama bin Zayed, the 18 year old.
- 16:35Of course we know who's told by the Sullah to lead the army in
- 16:39his last. I think, if I'm not mistaken, in
- 16:41the last chapter or the last year of the 100 Prophet's life,
- 16:44he nominated an 18 year old Osama bin Zaid to lead the army.
- 16:47They still went against it and this.
- 16:49There seems to be a commonality here between the second group of
- 16:52people this. Is where he ordered all of them
- 16:53to join the army of Osama, right?
- 16:55Yeah, Amira Mamanian stayed behind, if I'm not mistaken.
- 16:59And then of course you've got the third group of people this,
- 17:01this group of people are in the pits of hell.
- 17:03The pits of hell, you know they are the lowest of the lowest of
- 17:06the low. Those who call who.
- 17:08There are people in the world, unfortunately, who are named
- 17:10Maria. You know, one of my favorite
- 17:12footballers, Zinedine Zidan. Have you heard of him?
- 17:15I have the French football. You know his middle name is
- 17:18Yazid no Zinedine Yazid. Zidan A.
- 17:21Lot of excellent. You know, like I'm thinking,
- 17:23bro, that's just put like a a blemish on him.
- 17:26They censored the middle name. Yes, censored the middle name.
- 17:29But for example, if you talk about Yazid, he was a cat when
- 17:31he was Khalifa, he said. Banu Hashim played with the
- 17:34throne. But no revelation was revealed.
- 17:37There was no true message. This is in Thabani.
- 17:40This is in Tatkirata and Hawas. These are all major books, Abu
- 17:44Sufyan said Yabani Omaya. Now that this kingdom's come to
- 17:47you, play with it as if you're a child playing with a football.
- 17:50Pass it from one to another between your clan.
- 17:52We're not even sure whether there is a paradise or hell.
- 17:54But what we do know is this Kingdom is reality.
- 17:57Al ist al Isti AB by Ibn Abdul Bar.
- 18:01These are all like, you know, major works of of Ala Sunna.
- 18:06But it's important to realize that there's no, there's no
- 18:09unique homogeneous approach to companions for the Sony or for
- 18:13the Shah. So those who say that Shah hate
- 18:15the companions or the Sony love all the companions.
- 18:17It's not the case because there are many brothers and sisters
- 18:20Ala Sunna which don't Revere such personalities like these.
- 18:24So we've got to be honest and fair with that.
- 18:26No, you're right, You're right. And I think it's also, again,
- 18:28let's reiterate that the Shias hold the Companions in the
- 18:31highest regards. You know, those righteous ones,
- 18:33the ones we always hear about, read about, learn from and wish
- 18:37to be like them. The way they were with Rasul
- 18:39Allah, the way they were with Emir al Munin and all the other
- 18:43imams of the elevate animal of the salaji was Salaam.
- 18:45So you can, you can't come and say we don't respect them, we
- 18:48don't Revere them. Look, let's be real.
- 18:50We can't, we can't consider every Tom, Dick and Harry as a
- 18:53true companion of Rasulullah Muhammad Sallallahu Ali Waisan
- 18:56Bro. Because some of these companions
- 18:58from the outside, Masha Allah, from the inside are the Allah
- 19:05they understand. So you really don't know there's
- 19:06true hypocrisy. And you mentioned some verses
- 19:08from the Quran. Bro, there's an entire chapter.
- 19:10There's even, there's even the verses in the Quran where Allah,
- 19:15he warns Rasul Allah of the hypocrisy that surrounds him.
- 19:20What's that saying? You tell him that Allah doesn't
- 19:22know this hypocrites around him. No, Allah wants us to know that
- 19:26there's like some barometer between what's hot and what's
- 19:28battled, what's true and what's false.
- 19:30What's you know? What's someone righteous?
- 19:32And what's someone who's a monastic?
- 19:34It doesn't make sense if you believe that the Prophets
- 19:36closest companions or the righteous, you know the
- 19:38companions generally around the Prophet war free from error.
- 19:40Explain the civil wars to me. Explain Stefan.
- 19:43Explain Jamal. These the Jamal is the worst it
- 19:46doesn't make. Sense you know why Jamal is the
- 19:47worst? Because you have Imam Ali on one
- 19:51side. Yeah you have the wife of the
- 19:53Prophet Arch on the other. What was aware and by the way
- 19:56bro, they were fighting for Islam from the very.
- 20:00Very beginning. It's one of the closest
- 20:02companions. So it shows you that you know,
- 20:03companions sometimes can deviate from the path, can go towards,
- 20:07you know, the the the side of Shaitaan and leave the Imam
- 20:09completely And there's you know, I'm gonna get to Amar of Niyasr
- 20:13a bit later on but Rasul Allah Salallahu Ali, Hawaii, Salem, he
- 20:17once told Amar of Niyasr. If you ever find the people
- 20:22going towards one path, the entire nation going towards one
- 20:26path, and you see Imam Ali, Emir and Maminian going towards
- 20:29another path and he's alone, you take that path and that's what
- 20:33he remembered that German. So I don't know the exact
- 20:35context of of the narration of this, but it just reminded me of
- 20:39you. Saying Muhammad Ibn ABI Baker,
- 20:41yes, with Emir and Mahmanin fighting against his sister
- 20:44Ayesha, even ABI Baker, Abid ABI Baker fighting against each
- 20:48other. You had then, you know, families
- 20:52within families, siblings fighting one another on opposing
- 20:54sides. You're telling me that within
- 20:56the Ummah at Lodge, we're talking about the most powerful
- 20:58religion, the most fast growing religion at the time.
- 21:01We're talking about the religion of the last pound to Allah.
- 21:03That there's no, no, no hint of personal ambition there, of
- 21:09yearning for glory, of hunger and greed for power.
- 21:13Like these are things of course. Will exist, will have existed
- 21:16then. Will have exist, will still
- 21:17exist. Till today, you know, of course
- 21:19you're right completely. There's no way that all the
- 21:22companions can be unanimously on on one opinion and one approach
- 21:26and and it'd be correct because that if that was the case, there
- 21:29would have been no conflict, no aggression after the death of
- 21:33Harry. Prophet and you know the battle
- 21:34of Jamil, since we're talking about it, I think it's one where
- 21:38you truly see Haq for what is and battle for what it truly is.
- 21:43Because if these are ones who spent time with Russell Allah
- 21:46and Imam Ali, ones who were married with Russell Allah
- 21:49Allah, Ali, Hawaii or Salem can take different paths towards the
- 21:53Imam of their time, which is Emir al Umunin and the Caliph of
- 21:56their time. That raises so much questions.
- 21:59And the problem we have with, I wouldn't say I have a problem
- 22:02with the Sunni world. But the problem we have with the
- 22:04Sunni world when it comes to how we Revere companions is this
- 22:12whole thing where you can brush them all together as being
- 22:14righteous. You understand this is where it
- 22:17gets dangerous because then you can no longer question and I
- 22:19this is my opinion here now Yeah, the reason why they have
- 22:22this. We're going to say it.
- 22:27Yeah, I'll say it. The reason I think the reason
- 22:29why they have this is that the moment you you can start to
- 22:31question them or look into them and see anything about them,
- 22:35whether it be a good or bad, everything goes down the drain.
- 22:39All the hard work of sakrifa just goes to waste.
- 22:42So there's there's a huge build up between Sakrifa to Jamel and
- 22:45to where we see Islam today. There's a you know, one point I
- 22:49want to mention as well which is very clear as well.
- 22:51When Omar Abdul Khattab became Caliph, what happened to the
- 22:57hadith and the sayings and the narrations of Rasul Allah,
- 22:59Muhammad, Sallallahu, Ali, Ali, What happened to them?
- 23:01Do you know? No, he ordered them to be burnt.
- 23:04He told all the people to bring any narration you have saying
- 23:08from Rasul Allah bring it. And he burned all the all the
- 23:10sayings of Rasulallah. Why?
- 23:11Because he said the Quran's enough for us.
- 23:15I know, he said. The Quran's enough for us, yeah.
- 23:17And yeah, you know, you can have a case.
- 23:19For example, you mentioned Sakifa.
- 23:21For us this is a big disrespect. You are burning the words of
- 23:24Rasul Alam Mohammed, the one when he utters something is
- 23:27coming revelation directly from last para Matala.
- 23:29How can we reverse such an individual?
- 23:31Anyhow, back to the. You meant you mentioned Sakifa.
- 23:34Sakifa is an interesting one. You have Josema bin Thabit, you
- 23:38know, Khozema, one of his, one of the most underappreciated
- 23:43undervalued companions of Salaam Mohammed.
- 23:45A top G, Yeah. I don't know if we want to call
- 23:48him that today. Now we'll call him that.
- 23:50He was. He was.
- 23:51He was a real 100% josema was. Many of us know he was called
- 23:58Dulshaha detain his title. The Holy Prophet called him that
- 24:02because he said you're worth Josema's worth.
- 24:05He's worth not just two ordinary people, two pious people.
- 24:09Joseima's witness is that worth of a witness of two ordinary
- 24:13pious people. Amazing.
- 24:15That if Joseima testifies to something.
- 24:19That means the word is gospel. What does that say about the way
- 24:21the Holy Prophet saw Joseima's integrity, his honesty and his
- 24:25piety for him to say that at the time of Sakifa, when Joseima
- 24:29approached Abu Baker, Joseima said Yabi Baka, do you not
- 24:33remember when Rasulallah called me Dulshahad attain?
- 24:36He said yes, I remember he said. Then listen to me when I
- 24:39testified that Ali is the true Caliph and not you when he was
- 24:43elected. This is a very important thing
- 24:45to remember because you've got two companions of rasulallah,
- 24:49two people who spent years beside Rasulallah, one who
- 24:53claimed Khalafa and one who said I'm not claiming Khalafa.
- 24:56I'm telling you who this is deserving of Khalafa and Imamah
- 24:59more broadly, and they have a different opinion, but they're
- 25:02in the same place at the same time.
- 25:04They would have fought 5 by side, by side.
- 25:05They would have been beside each other in the courtrooms, They
- 25:08would have negotiated with the enemies of Islam beside each
- 25:11other. And then at the death of the
- 25:12Holy Prophet Muhammad, they have a disagreement on this.
- 25:15So it's important. Khozema is a is a great example
- 25:19of a companion that generally we don't talk about enough.
- 25:23You know what? There's I saw a wicked hadith
- 25:25earlier today. If you don't mind, I'll just
- 25:26pull it back. I'll pull it out about Khozema.
- 25:29You know there's a hadith of Miramat Minin.
- 25:31We read it in Natur Balaga, where he says where are my
- 25:37brethren who took the right path and trod rightness, Whereas
- 25:40Ahmad was Imnathahihan, and whereas the UL Shahad detain?
- 25:45And where are those amongst them?
- 25:47From among their comrades who had pledged themselves
- 25:49themselves to death and who'd severed heads were taken to the
- 25:52wicked enemy. Miramat Mining talks about three
- 25:54people here, three people. Amara bin Yasir, but I know we
- 25:57can talk about a bit more Ibn Tihan and Don Shahad detain
- 26:01meaning Hosseima bin Tabit. So you know the companions
- 26:04generally we we have a responsibility on us and we want
- 26:07to be companions of Imam Ali Mehti Ajalah to there's an
- 26:14obligation on us to not just learn about them, not just
- 26:18emulate them, but to be comparable to them to our Imam.
- 26:22For the Imam to say you are equivalent to me as Hosseima
- 26:24Westras Olava for example. Inshallah, that's our goal down
- 26:27here. Inshallah inshallah.
- 26:29And I also want to mention Bilal khabashi.
- 26:31You know the very famous wedding that people only use when it
- 26:36comes to African converts. Sadly there isn't much that they
- 26:40know about his life but leading up towards the end of the life
- 26:43of Rasulallah Muhammad Sallallahu alayh alayh Salem
- 26:46After after Rasulallah left this vault he gave up to the Adam.
- 26:50He was no longer the mohaddan for Muslims.
- 26:52Why? Because of his willaya.
- 26:56Because of his his willaya to Imam Ali because he heard what
- 27:01Rasul Allah said that radio he knew how Rasul Allah treated Ali
- 27:05of Nabi Talib. How he appointed him as his
- 27:07wazir as his emir and all of these things.
- 27:10Zion the fact the Khalafa, the genuine Khalafa didn't go to the
- 27:15one appointed by Allah that really hurt and upset Khomein
- 27:20upset Bilan For someone Bilal on that level to like give up on
- 27:24society and see the Muslims in the way they they were at that
- 27:28time after the death of Rasul Allah, someone on his level, a
- 27:31companion of Rasul Allah, Muhammad sallallahu alayhi
- 27:34wasallam to give up on the Muslims.
- 27:36That says a lot of things. So I think I think to make it
- 27:39simple and clear, if you're going to ask us do we reveal the
- 27:44companions? I think we need to make it
- 27:45simple our barometer as if you have love for Imam Ali Ali
- 27:50Hassalam. Those are the best of
- 27:51companions. They're the best of companions.
- 27:53Because when Rasul Allah tells you for example, you know Ali is
- 27:58with the truth and the truth is with Ali.
- 28:01Love for Ali is a sign of Iman belief.
- 28:05Hate for Ali is a sign of hypocrisy.
- 28:09Anna Medina, Tella and well I Leon Baba, I am the Rasul Allah
- 28:13saying this, not me, not Ahmed, not you Rasul Allah.
- 28:16He's saying I am the city of knowledge.
- 28:18And Ali, Isidor, how do you enter a city through his gates,
- 28:22right? But then he didn't go on to say,
- 28:24for example, you know Tom is the window and I don't know Harry is
- 28:27the padlock to the key of the gate.
- 28:28But he made it clear is is B and it's Ali.
- 28:31You stick with Ali and what did he say?
- 28:36He made dua Sallallahu made a beautiful prayer for every lover
- 28:41of Imam Aliyab Nabiatallah. He said Allahu mawali manwala
- 28:45wadim and ada one surman Nasara. You know Allah, you know God be
- 28:52close Wally. You know be like a companion to
- 28:55the one who takes Aliyab. Nabiatallah as a friend, as a
- 28:57welly as a companion, right? Wadim and Adi B aid, protect and
- 29:06stand by those who aid and protect and stand with Ali of
- 29:08Ali. Why would we choose a different
- 29:11barometer? For Rasolallah tells us this is
- 29:13the criteria. I'm not going anywhere else.
- 29:15I'm happy with what Rasolallah says.
- 29:17What's on Dick Canary? I said, I said, I said is
- 29:21everything. Everything the world imagine
- 29:24being a companion of him. And there's many of these
- 29:27companions who were who crossed over in the life of Amira, Mat
- 29:33Minin and of Rasulullah. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 29:35Yeah. We talk about, for example,
- 29:37Jabir, you know Jabir bin Abdullah from the time of
- 29:41Rasulallah to our fifth holy Imam, Imam Muhammad al Baqarah
- 29:45Ali Salaam. He met him.
- 29:47We know of course the hadith where he was approaching.
- 29:50He was a blind man at that time and he was approaching and he
- 29:57met Imam al Bakar al Islam. He didn't know who Imam al Bakar
- 30:00was and Imam Al Bakar was speaking to him al Salaam and he
- 30:05asked him a couple of questions and he suddenly started crying
- 30:09and kissing his hand. He said your grandfather
- 30:12Salallah told me about your existence.
- 30:14I will meet you Subhan Allah. So he saw Salaam Ahmed.
- 30:19So Imam Ali, Imam Hassen, Imam Hussain, Imam Sajad and Imam al
- 30:22Bakar 6 chosen Hajja of Alas Matala on the earth in one
- 30:27lifetime. And there's even those
- 30:28companions who never met the Prophet on their visit to the
- 30:31Prophet Owais al Karuni. Great example, Al Yamani, he
- 30:35came from Yemen, you know, we know the story of Owais.
- 30:39He he was told by his, if I'm not mistaken, his mother or his
- 30:42grandmother to stay for a day and then to return he went.
- 30:45He couldn't find the Holy Prophet.
- 30:47His heart was broken. He would write letters to the
- 30:50prophet. He was yearning to meet the
- 30:52prophet. The prophet was awaiting him as
- 30:54well. They never met face to face on
- 30:56his return Prophet said, I smell a a hush but you say in Urdu
- 30:59like a beautiful fragrance and that is the fragrance of a waste
- 31:02of colony. Like this is an example of a
- 31:04companion who never interacted. When he met went to meet the
- 31:08Holy Prophet he never met him. And we can say that, you know,
- 31:11there's ways to be those who give companionship to the Aimmar
- 31:15Ali Musalaam today, for example, to Imam Mehdi without having to
- 31:19meet him face to face or without having to sit with him, with
- 31:22him, talk with him, with all the criteria we've ever mentioned.
- 31:25You can have a connection, yeah, yeah, you.
- 31:26Have a connection to the point where the Imam recognizes you
- 31:29and he considers you one of the companions.
- 31:31So yeah, we talked about Ahmar earlier.
- 31:34Ahmar. Ahmar is.
- 31:36I know he's one of one of your favorite companions.
- 31:39He is, he truly is. And he he, he is someone that I
- 31:43really love. And that's because you know, he
- 31:48spent his early years with Russell, Allah, Muhammad
- 31:50Sallallahu, Ali Ali Salem and he ended it with the Imam Ali Ali
- 31:54Salam. And he had the best of both
- 31:56worlds, Subhan Allah. And he's very lucky in that
- 31:58sense. But I I think let's let's talk
- 32:01about about his life a little. You know, Ahmadab, Nayasir, I
- 32:05think. Before I get into him, I have to
- 32:06speak about his parents first, I think.
- 32:08Yes, of course. So his father, Amar's father's
- 32:12called Yasser, can understand by the name here.
- 32:16They used to be in Yemen, and they used to travel city, city,
- 32:21country to country, looking for work, employment, trading,
- 32:24merging, all these things. And then one day they were three
- 32:27brothers. So Yasser had three brothers.
- 32:32One of the brothers decided to go to Mecca.
- 32:34We go to Mecca to find work. I sense, yeah.
- 32:38So time went past, You know, now is a big time gone through.
- 32:44His brother's not back. Now all the brothers are
- 32:46wondering where is he? Has he died?
- 32:49Has he lost his ways back to Yemen?
- 32:52And what's going on? So they decide, you know what,
- 32:54let's go to Mecca, look for him. He's probably still there.
- 32:58He's found work. Maybe we can join employment
- 33:00with him. So he also decides which is the
- 33:04father of Amar to go to Mecca and he does.
- 33:07He goes there. He doesn't find his brother.
- 33:09He decides to stay in Mecca. He sees an opportunity where he
- 33:13can work, make some money, build a family and so he does.
- 33:18So he works for a tribe called Benimazum and a a few years
- 33:25later he gets with a servant that also worked at the tribe of
- 33:32Benny Mazoom by the name of Somaya Somaya.
- 33:35They get married time goes past. They have a child.
- 33:39They have a son. They name him Amar and hence the
- 33:41name Amar of Nayasar. Now I want you to imagine the
- 33:45entire family you work for the stripe.
- 33:47Benny Mazoom. Benny Mazoom bro.
- 33:48They hate Quraysh. They hate Benny Hashim sorry.
- 33:51And they they want to do any. They want you to stay far away
- 33:55from Muhammad Rasul Allah and anything got to do with his
- 33:58message or his magic as as they used to call it.
- 34:01So from the very early ages of Ahmad of Niyasr, as he, as he
- 34:04was growing up working for Benny Mazoom, seeing you know, all
- 34:08like the Pagan rituals that's happening all around him, he's
- 34:11used to always question, can we really worship idols as our
- 34:14Lord? Are they truly God?
- 34:18You know, So already his mind was like opening and thinking
- 34:22something is not right, something's not right.
- 34:24He has gone past. He realizes that there's a man
- 34:28by the name of Muhammad, and he sees that this Muhammad is very
- 34:35different. And he's from the tribe of Beni
- 34:39Hashim Zion. He sees that Muhammad Sallallahu
- 34:42alayhi wasallam before even announcing his prophethood.
- 34:45He used to fight for people's justices.
- 34:49He used to fight for the rights of women.
- 34:51He used to even, you know, fight for something that has nothing
- 34:56to do with Islam. You know, there's a dispute
- 34:58between this merchant, There's a dispute between this seller and
- 35:01this buyer. He would go and resolve the
- 35:02problem. So Amaravani Asla was very
- 35:05interested into knowing who this Muhammad is.
- 35:08Zion he has got past one day Amar of Niyazar he'd find
- 35:17himself leaning towards Asol Allah Muhammad sallallahu Ali
- 35:20Wali sanam. They become great friends.
- 35:23They become we can say this is where the companionship started
- 35:27and where it stands from. And he would always listen to
- 35:30Muhammad and what rasolallah used to warn him not to, you
- 35:33know, relay what he's had from the gatherings he's in.
- 35:37So Ahmadab Nayasr would go home and like have conversation with
- 35:41his parents, but not tell them about Rasul Allah and not tell
- 35:45them about the message of Allah. Subhanahu Watala.
- 35:47At this point, we need to assume that Ahmad has accepted Islam
- 35:51and Allah as his Lord. And you know, now at this point,
- 35:55Ahmadab Nayasr is now going regularly to the House of Al
- 35:58Arkham where there's a gathering with Rasulallah, Muhammad
- 36:00Sallallahu and those who believed in Islam.
- 36:03Very early on before Rasulallah made Islam public to to the to
- 36:07the people. On that day, Amar Banyasa
- 36:11decides to go back home. He goes back to his parents.
- 36:15As he walks into the house, he sort of brushes or barges into
- 36:19one of the idols that his family had in the house and it falls
- 36:23down and it cracks, His father tells him, Amar, what have you
- 36:27done? You have killed our Lord.
- 36:32So now Amar for the first time tells him, my Lord is not your
- 36:35idol. My Lord is Allah Subhanahu
- 36:37Ta'ala. He tells him, you know son what
- 36:39are you talking about? He tells him, I've been going
- 36:42to, you know, sitting in the gathering of someone by the name
- 36:45of Muhammad and he claims to be the messenger of Allah Subhanahu
- 36:48Ta'ala. And his dad doesn't tell me
- 36:51more. And then he goes on to say today
- 36:54there was a there was a revelation that came down and I
- 36:57in the Quran where Allah Subhanahu Ta'ala speaks about
- 37:03the infant girl that when she gets buried alive she says, for
- 37:07what reason was I killed? He sees his mother Somaya start
- 37:11crying. He tells, you know, he tells his
- 37:14mom, Somaya, why are you crying? What's going on?
- 37:17She goes to him. There was a there was a point in
- 37:19my early life when I found out why I'm alive and it comes to
- 37:23this, to this Ayah. She goes to him.
- 37:26Your grandfather, Somaya's father, here when he had his
- 37:30first daughter, he buried her alive.
- 37:34He then went on to have a second daughter.
- 37:37He also went to bury her alive. But as he was burying her, the
- 37:42arm, the hands, she was grabbing onto the the beards of your
- 37:47grandfather. And this really hurt him and
- 37:49upset him. And he promised himself if he
- 37:52were to have a third child and if it were to be a girl, he
- 37:57would ensure she remains alive. And that's the reason I am your
- 38:00mother here today. So this really connected with
- 38:04her. She saw, you know, Rasul, Allah
- 38:06has, you know, rights for females.
- 38:08You know Allah Subhanahu Watala, you know is on the side of the
- 38:12innocent baby girl being buried alive.
- 38:14So already now the hearts you know went towards the message of
- 38:18Allah. Subhanahu watala.
- 38:21So I'm going to cut a few years here now because the story about
- 38:26Marvin they asked that is really, really, really huge.
- 38:29And later on there was, you know, I was Sofyan and Abu Lahab
- 38:41and all these people, they really hated Rasul Allah and the
- 38:44message he was bringing to Mecca.
- 38:47So they told everyone to every single tribe including the tribe
- 38:50of Benimazum that if you have anyone who believes in Muhammad
- 38:55or anyone who takes Allah as their Lord, you either have to
- 38:58execute them or torture them until they believe in our idols.
- 39:05So one day someone came to Abu Lahab and he was like, you know,
- 39:10in your tribe there is Somoya, in your tribe there is Yasir.
- 39:17And in your tribe also their son Ammar believes in Muhammad
- 39:21Rasul, Allah. They believe in Allah as their
- 39:23Lord. He got so angry, so furious he
- 39:28went, he grabbed them and bring them to the centre of Mecca and
- 39:31he tied them in ropes and he was like, is it true what you say?
- 39:36Who's your Lord Sumaya will say Allah Subhanawatar.
- 39:41He will ask Yasir who's your Lord who say you know Allahu
- 39:46aahat there's only one got. He will ask who he will ask the
- 39:50son as well. Amar who's your Lord?
- 39:52He will say Allah Subhanahu Ta'ala.
- 39:54He goes back and forth, back and forth, back and forth and so
- 39:56Allah will pass by. He will, He will, He will say to
- 39:58the family of Amar. Abhinaya Sir, be patient for
- 40:01your rewards agenda. Again they ask Sumaya who's your
- 40:06Lord? She says Allah Subhanahu Ta'ala
- 40:09the execute her. So how they execute her is very
- 40:12brutal. When they cut out of the
- 40:13stomach, they tie her to horses and they.
- 40:17Separate her body from one side to the other.
- 40:20Next they go to his father to Yasser.
- 40:21Now Yasser says the sin Allah is my Lord.
- 40:25They kill him as well. Now they come to Amar.
- 40:29Amar, here. Now you know, I've seen my mom
- 40:32die. I've seen my father die.
- 40:35And now you're asking me who's my Lord?
- 40:37My Lord is your idols, Amar of Nyasser says, says Now my Lord
- 40:42is your idols. They untie him and they let him
- 40:46go. What happens to him now?
- 40:51He goes to Rasool Allah. Muhammad sallallahu alaihi was
- 40:53selling, you know, Rasool Allah I saw before my own eyes my
- 40:58mother got killed, my father got killed.
- 41:01And here I am standing with you today because the reason they
- 41:05died is because they believed in your message and your Lord.
- 41:10The reason why I'm still alive, it's because I denounce Allah.
- 41:14Subhanawat Allah and I said the idols are my Lord.
- 41:20And he told them, Ammar, where is your heart?
- 41:25Ammar replied. Then you know he told him, my
- 41:28heart, Rasul, Allah is with you. My heart is with Allah.
- 41:31Soprano Matala. And then he consults him and he
- 41:35tells him, you know Ammar. And he asked her, Don't worry,
- 41:40Allah. Soprano Matala has a reveal of a
- 41:42verse in your favor where now we can go into the I can say if we
- 41:48get into the conversation when it comes to Takaya for example
- 41:51where he says for example you know those who believe in Islam
- 41:55and leave Islam that's one group.
- 41:57Then do you have another Group One who who who who denounced
- 42:03Allah subhanahu atallah and Islam because they are compelled
- 42:09resulting into them concealing their true intentions which is
- 42:13believing in the La La la Muhammad rasul Allah.
- 42:14So it's awesome don't you worry. So now hey Ammar you know sort
- 42:19of he he he feels like he's back on track.
- 42:22A loss of panel. Tarala will forgive.
- 42:24And we understood. And I and I think this is where
- 42:25we learn Tariya from because some sometimes people say you
- 42:28know you shi'adu Tariya. No the biggest companion of
- 42:33rasul Allah. Muhammad sallallahu waldy by the
- 42:37eye and the revelation from the Quran.
- 42:39And just to make it clear Tahrir is only in circumstances when
- 42:42it's life or death and you've got a gun to your head.
- 42:45You've got a sore to your neck. No.
- 42:46You just come out whenever you feel like it.
- 42:48Yeah. One day I believe in God.
- 42:49One day I don't believe in God. No.
- 42:51Allah is not a game. Only when your life is in
- 42:53danger, only then can you conceal what you truly believe
- 42:56in. Absent, absent.
- 42:58And Ahmad, of course, is towards the end of his life.
- 43:01He was told by us all alive. And Sahi Bukhari, we read that
- 43:06you will be killed by the aggressors, infidels, the
- 43:09infidels. Yes.
- 43:10You know? And how did he die?
- 43:14Well, you know, he was lucky enough to join Rasul Allah in
- 43:17the Battle of Bedor. He was also lucky enough to
- 43:19build a mosque with Rasul Allah Muhammad Sallallahu Ali who Ali
- 43:22Wasalam. So years before, you know, he
- 43:24met his, he met his martyrdom. Let me come to this point, since
- 43:29I was speaking about companions. He was building a mosque
- 43:33alongside Rasolallah, Muhammad, Sallallahu, Ali, Ali.
- 43:34And we had all other companions there alongside them.
- 43:37You know, everyone's lifting up bricks, putting the bricks
- 43:40together. Amara Miyazar was known as the
- 43:41only one who picked up two with one hand, right.
- 43:44So everyone's picking one struggling versus Amar, my
- 43:46friend, he had two bricks and one goal.
- 43:48One of the companions didn't really like this, you know,
- 43:51Rasolallah saying look at him, Mashallah, you know, praising
- 43:54him. This companion is called afma
- 43:57manafan. So now there was a dispute.
- 44:00I'm better than you know, you're better than me.
- 44:03Imagine in front of Rasulullah Muhammad sallallahu alayhi.
- 44:05Now rasulallah has to come and squash the beef between them.
- 44:09And he says, he says to the companions all of them and they
- 44:11all witnessed this. He said Amar of Nayasar is the
- 44:16one that takes you towards the path of Allah, subhan Allah.
- 44:18And here you are trying to take speaking to the person he's
- 44:22having beef with. Here you are trying to take him
- 44:24towards the pits of Hellfire. Ahmad of Nayasr is close and
- 44:28dear to me. He is closer to me than the
- 44:30flesh between my nose and my eye.
- 44:32Look how close it is Ahmad of this is coming from Rasul Allah,
- 44:36Muhammad Salallahu. And then he tells all the people
- 44:39no that those who kill Ahmad of Nayasir are from the party of
- 44:45infidels. And you know, Subhanallah, many
- 44:47years down the line you see what happens to Ahmad Niyas he.
- 44:50Killed a Safin. He comes to the battle of Safin
- 44:52alongside Emir Al Romanin Ali Abdul Salati with Salaam where
- 44:57eventually, sadly during the battle by the way he thought he
- 45:00fought courageously, bravely and you know he made Rasul Allah
- 45:04proud. He made Imam Ali Ali Salaam
- 45:07proud. I told his very final moments
- 45:10that when he died, when he was killed, they had to stop the
- 45:13battle. Muslims came out and they were
- 45:16like, you know what we just remembered?
- 45:18Rasulullah Muhammad sallallahu alayhi wasalam, he said.
- 45:21Those that will kill Amar Abnayasir are infidels.
- 45:25We have killed Amar. Does that make us infidels?
- 45:30Can you see the confusion? When we here we are talking
- 45:32about companionship? You know who's right?
- 45:34He is and who's not. We know.
- 45:35Imagine being on the stage, yeah, yeah, They blamed Imam
- 45:38Ali. They said Imam.
- 45:39Ali took took Amar with him. Therefore he in essence killed
- 45:43him. Yeah, so it's like, so Allah
- 45:44taking Hamza to the battle. Yes, counter logical doesn't
- 45:49make. Sense there's so much lesson.
- 45:51This was like just a brief biography I think was fair.
- 45:53That I share. A few moments it you did an
- 45:57incredible service and justice to him but there's like you know
- 46:00the amount of of of lessons to learn just in his life, in his
- 46:04earlier life, earlier days of his life, the courage, the
- 46:08willpower he's he he the critical thinking he had.
- 46:12To Allah, He gave a lifetime lifetime of striving towards the
- 46:17last because he died at the age of 93.
- 46:20And he was, you know, he was in Safine.
- 46:22I think he was given his hustle uh when he died by Joseima who
- 46:26mentioned earlier, Joseima came, he did his Russell and then he
- 46:29went out and he was martyred as well.
- 46:31So Subhanallah we see the brotherhood between the
- 46:34companions was strong. Well he was so close with Rasul
- 46:37Allah and he was so close to the Imam Ali.
- 46:39Even Mahawya said that when Amaravani Asar died, he was like
- 46:42now we cut off the wing of Ali of.
- 46:44That's true. Yeah, it would be like.
- 46:46Says a lot, says a lot. Charlotte.
- 46:48We follow in his footsteps. I mean.
- 46:50I, I, I, I, I'm reminded of of one of our favorite companions
- 46:56Mithama Tamar Allah. What do you know about Mithama
- 46:58Tamar? What do you say about Mithama
- 47:00Tamar, the one who lived and died on the love of Rasoolallah
- 47:05Muhammad and of Amirabad Benin And not only he lived and died
- 47:10loving them, he was loved by them.
- 47:13You know Om Salima wife Holy Prophet narrates on so many
- 47:17occasions that the Holy Prophet would praise Mithama Tamar
- 47:21before his his interaction with a Miramotte mini cake.
- 47:24We know the story of Mithon. We always relate his love to a
- 47:26Miramotte mini. Mithon was loved by the Prophet
- 47:29but he was born the daughter of a slave of Bunny Assad and he
- 47:34was considered a non Arab because of this.
- 47:36OK, but he was born with the name Salim and Miramotte Mini
- 47:42later in his life. I know where you're going.
- 47:45Yeah, he said. Where did you.
- 47:47Well, what? What is your name?
- 47:48He said Salim. He said no, no, I want to call
- 47:50you the name The Prophet called you Allah.
- 47:51He said. I want to.
- 47:52He said Mitham. OK, so he he took the name
- 47:55Mitham. You call him at Tamar because he
- 47:57was known to sell dates in the bazaar of Kufa.
- 48:03There's a lot to talk about with Mitham, but I'll summarise to
- 48:05keep it short. A couple of things that we learn
- 48:07about Mitham and Tamar. The first thing is his knowledge
- 48:11was incomparable. He was one of the shorter Hamis,
- 48:15the trusted loyalists, the the gods of Amir MOT Minin.
- 48:20He was known as a God. He was loved by the Holy Prophet
- 48:23and then Amir MOT Minin had the same love for him.
- 48:26When he was a bit older he became closer to Amir MOT Minin.
- 48:29When he was very young he was with the Holy Prophet and
- 48:32Sallallahu alaihi and Amir E Mat, the Tata wheel of the Holy
- 48:40Qalan. The hidden meanings of the Holy
- 48:42Qalan Ibn Abbas, who we know. Of course not cousin the Holy
- 48:45Prophet narrates so many hadith for the Sunni.
- 48:47And this year of course at times he shows his love for the island
- 48:51Bethlehem of Salaam and at times he maybe has questionable
- 48:55approaches towards it. So you know, he's a very neutral
- 48:58character in that sense. Ibn Abbas approached Mitham and
- 49:02he said tell me about the Tata wheel that you learnt from Ali
- 49:05and he would share with him some of these.
- 49:07Tell him make notes. What I'm telling you he'd make
- 49:09those notes and then Nathan would say.
- 49:11My master Ali also told me. He told me about my death.
- 49:14Let me tell you about these prophecies.
- 49:16Even Abbas Sidiah told me. He told him this is how
- 49:18Mammilian said I would die. Abbas think in disguise.
- 49:23I don't know. I don't know if I can believe
- 49:24him or not because he's telling me how.
- 49:26Who's going to know how they're going to die?
- 49:28So he said I'm going to destroy all the works that you've told
- 49:30me about the time wheel of the Quran.
- 49:31Maybe he said don't do it. Wait till I die.
- 49:34If my prophecy is fulfilled to keep the works, if I die in a
- 49:36different way, you can throw it away.
- 49:38So he was known to be someone who had that that knowledge.
- 49:41You know that that true love of religion love of and more than
- 49:46just lip service. A lot of the time in our
- 49:48communities we have proper like veniety vibes, you know, lots of
- 49:56naras and not lots of moulded and clapping and all of that
- 50:00stuff. But there's no point doing that
- 50:02without knowledge or understanding of religion.
- 50:04And Maitama Tamad is the classic example of that.
- 50:07Just skip further. A few years he went to Makkah,
- 50:11you know the time just before Maitama Tamad died only a couple
- 50:14of weeks prior to Karbala battle of Karbala 61AH or 60AH at the
- 50:17time. And in the Hajj he went to meet
- 50:21Imam Hussain Ali Salaam. He was a companion, of course
- 50:24from the holy person Muhammad to Imam Hassan to Imam Hussein. 4
- 50:30of the At the time of Imam Hussein, he went to Mecca and he
- 50:35was met by UM Salima. As we mentioned earlier, she had
- 50:39a strong, a strong understanding of knowledge of Metham's
- 50:42position and she she told him Mam Hussein's not here.
- 50:48She's conveyed my Salaam to him, my love for him.
- 50:51Tell him I will meet him in the in the hereafter in Akhara
- 50:54because he knew what was to come for the Imam and for himself.
- 50:57How do you know? Miramat Mini told him about
- 50:59three or four separate occasions.
- 51:01One about his own death, one about Imam Hussein's death, one
- 51:05about Muqtada Takafi. What's going to happen?
- 51:08Also the death of Maharia. These are four things that
- 51:10Miramat Mini foretold. Meet him.
- 51:12For those who know, of course he came back to Kufa prior to
- 51:15Karbala. He was hated by Yazid.
- 51:18Yazid hated ammah aliyah. Both of them hated Methimah
- 51:22Tamar. They would cuss him out like
- 51:25they would do. However they could do any
- 51:27occasion they'd have, They would any opportunity they'd have.
- 51:29They would, they would, they would slander him because he was
- 51:32a loyalist, I mean. So he was ordered by Yazid to
- 51:37Ibn Ziyad to imprison Methimah Tamar.
- 51:40Methim was imprisoned by Bin Ziyad or even Bajanah as we call
- 51:43him. And when he was imprisoned, he
- 51:46said he was smiling, Iman said. Why are you smiling?
- 51:50He said. My master Ali told me how you're
- 51:52going to kill me. He said, what did he tell you?
- 51:54He said you are going to imprison me, then you are going
- 51:57to hang me for three days, going to cut my arm and my leg.
- 52:01On the third day you will cut my tongue and I will die as the sun
- 52:04is setting. Ibn Marjana, Antola Ali said.
- 52:09You know what just to prove you wrong?
- 52:12That your master, Ali, is a liar.
- 52:13I'm going to do everything you said but the last detail.
- 52:17I'm purposely not going to do it.
- 52:18I'm going to. I'm going to hang you for three
- 52:20days. I'm going to cut your arm, cut
- 52:22your leg, but I'm not going to cut your.
- 52:24Tongue. And we'll see what happens,
- 52:27Mathem said. OK, I trust my master, because
- 52:29my master told me that I will die here by the state of by the
- 52:33place of this tree, this palm tree.
- 52:36Mathem had a close relationship with this palm tree.
- 52:38And Mama Ali told him, he said this is where you will die.
- 52:41Mathem would go there every day. He'd water the palm tree.
- 52:45He would say you were made for me and I was made for you.
- 52:48He would pray by that palm tree because he knew this is where
- 52:51his fate would be determined. He was then hung by that palm
- 52:54tree by Ibn Ziyad on the third day.
- 52:57On the day one, day two and three, he was reciting the
- 53:00thicker of Ali Abnibiat Ali. He was praising the Islam
- 53:02Muhammad and he was cursing by the Omaya.
- 53:05He was calling people towards the Ali Bait Ali Muslim, calling
- 53:09them away, telling them to leave the Bani Omaya Ibn Ziad was
- 53:12infuriated. What did he do?
- 53:15He said cut his tongue off. Just summarize and it's the
- 53:19variations. Say that he died with his with
- 53:22his tongue being cut while he's reciting the thicket of Aliyeb
- 53:25Nabiat Thalim and the last words he said as the spear was
- 53:30thrusted into his chest, shouted Allahu Akbar and he left this
- 53:33world to join his master. These are just examples of
- 53:36Companions and Mathem's story. I just have to say it doesn't
- 53:39end there. Mathem's story continues for
- 53:41generations. Mathem's sons, his grandsons and
- 53:45his great grandsons were all companions if I'm not mistaken,
- 53:48up until the time of Imam with Kavan Salaam.
- 53:51So he was critical in the foundations of early Islamic
- 53:56history and of the foundations of Toshayo.
- 53:59We're talking about the Companions and the son of
- 54:00Companions who remained Companions.
- 54:02You know these are these are are royal families.
- 54:05If we can say that are are are true she heritage.
- 54:11We talk about Metham, Tamar, Ahmad, Al bin Yasir, many of the
- 54:14other Companions. We pray each other way along
- 54:17among amongst them and alongside them Inshallah and the and the
- 54:19Hereafter, and that we can be as they are to their Imams for the
- 54:23same with our Imam Inshallah. I mean, I mean, you know, people
- 54:27like Metham and Tamar, yeah, they're mesmerizing.
- 54:30Yeah, man, honestly. And the way they lived,
- 54:33breathed. Spend their time, you know, with
- 54:37Russell Allah and the Ellen Bates and you know it's just
- 54:40like truly, you are lucky to be in that stage.
- 54:43But it took a lot of hard work for them to reach that status.
- 54:47Yeah, it wasn't like they woke up one day and here I am.
- 54:51No, definitely not. I'm the campaigning of Russell
- 54:53Allah. I'm the.
- 54:54Friends. I sat with him.
- 54:55I ate with him of. Muhammad's Mollah and all these
- 54:58things they understand like bro. They strived truly in the way of
- 55:01a lot. There was a lot who there was a
- 55:03lot who were on the path and they flopped it.
- 55:07For example, Zabel Zabel was one of the seven who shaved their
- 55:10heads when Ali said come tomorrow morning shaving ready
- 55:13for he was there. Yeah.
- 55:14Zabel was one of the shorter Hamis I mentioned the loyal
- 55:17companions of Miramonin. He was there.
- 55:19What happened? He turned his back.
- 55:21You know, these are people who are are related to the I'm my
- 55:25level Salaam related to the Holy Prophet at times, you know, or
- 55:29if they're not, then they've grown up with Ali.
- 55:31They've played Zubair, played football and not literally
- 55:33played football, played games with their mum Ali from young,
- 55:36you know, they grew up side by side.
- 55:38They fought in wars together, they fought in battles and then
- 55:41at the last moment you turn away and what is this, you know?
- 55:44So there's there's double standards when it comes to the
- 55:46companions. You can't say all of them are
- 55:48revered or none of them are revered, she I do not say that
- 55:51all companions are bad and Sunnis can't say we love all
- 55:54companions. It just doesn't make sense.
- 55:55Well, this, this Dunya's you know can deceive you.
- 55:58Imagine your last final moment. You just stray away from the
- 56:02puff. Yeah.
- 56:03Well, well, it's not worth it. Yeah.
- 56:06Yeah, well, what's the whole point, you know?
- 56:07I mean, why even reach that level?
- 56:09I know. I just want to come back to
- 56:10Nathan with Tamar. We, Allah be pleased with
- 56:12pleased with him. You know, someone may say, you
- 56:15know how does he know about his death.
- 56:17Yeah. You know someone generally may
- 56:21ask maybe someone who's not Shia doesn't believe in this.
- 56:23And listen like how can Mitham and Samar know about when he
- 56:26will die, how he will die All of these things here the way I
- 56:29remember it. Correct me if I'm wrong here
- 56:31Ahmed, is that you know as you mentioned earlier on when Imam
- 56:36Ali came to you know take Mitham under his wing, he had a
- 56:39different name when he told him your name is Mitham and I call
- 56:45you by the name Rasul. Allah calls you He was already
- 56:48like in disbelief like no one, not anyone knows my name except
- 56:54for my mother I. Said Yeah.
- 56:57So already there's a connection where sort of Imam Ali tells
- 57:00him, I know the secrets of this world, you understand.
- 57:04And he goes on further and he shares so much secrets with
- 57:07Maitham, Maitham and Tamar. Maitham finds Imam Ali Amirami
- 57:10one day, you know, putting his fists into the sands, into the
- 57:13grounds. And he tells him, you know Mola,
- 57:16what's happening, what's going on?
- 57:17He tells them, bro, you know mathem.
- 57:19I know so much secrets of this wall.
- 57:21The only you knew I will share with you.
- 57:23But I can't. You know the it's really it's
- 57:26really having an effect on me. So I have to dig my fist into
- 57:28the ground so so that I can relax.
- 57:31And mathem tells them tell me, and he shares some secrets with
- 57:34it. They share everything.
- 57:35But one of them was that he allowed him to know when people
- 57:38would die, how they would die. Look, Allah can change any sort.
- 57:45Of we hear in the Quran about the the knowledge of the unseen
- 57:50and this is something that. And the law says I give
- 57:54knowledge to those who I want to.
- 57:56You understand? So you're telling me maitham
- 57:58can't be from Olia Allah. Inshallah we can reach that
- 58:02stage of becoming olia Allah. But the the the fact he knew
- 58:06when he will die and how he will die bro.
- 58:08I wish I knew that because if we did, will become ten times like,
- 58:13right? And I think because he knew that
- 58:15he strived to achieve it. He strived to make that prophecy
- 58:19fulfill, you know, he said to Ibn Abbas, if it doesn't happen,
- 58:21you're welcome to throw my stuff away because he knew that
- 58:24there's a chance it may not happen.
- 58:25You know, it's just mind blowing to think that he he had the
- 58:28knowledge. I mean, I might mean he told him
- 58:29this is what this will happen to you.
- 58:31He still said, what if it doesn't?
- 58:32What if I stray and my free will allows me to to to sway from the
- 58:36from Huck. You know it's it's mind blowing.
- 58:39There's so many hidden stories or very subtle underlying
- 58:43messages of knowledge and truth and guidance that we can learn
- 58:45from the lives of the companions.
- 58:47I just want to mention as well that there are so many
- 58:48companions of the Imam Salaam Salaam who.
- 58:52You know, before you mentioned them?
- 58:53Yeah, it just it just came to my head now.
- 58:55Sorry. I know I'm adding so much.
- 58:56No, no, no. The fact that he's a day Salah
- 59:00and you know, he has love for Imam Ali Salaam, I think it's
- 59:05nice to mention the story. There was a time where, you
- 59:07know, Imam Ali and Nathan Samar were like best friends forever,
- 59:11if we can say in today's language, yeah, they were truly
- 59:16comrades, you know, side by side, ride or die, die together.
- 59:20You know, for us is live like I, die like Jose.
- 59:22But that's the level they were on CN.
- 59:25So your mom and he tells them, you know what you're sending
- 59:27these dates and the heat of the sun.
- 59:29You're tired, you're sweating. Go get some rest.
- 59:32Let me look after your stool. You know, your market stall
- 59:35where you're selling your dates. Let me spend the next few hours,
- 59:38you know, let me deal with the transactions.
- 59:40Here you go. Rest and come back.
- 59:43Nathan goes to rest, he comes back, he sees there's dates
- 59:48missing. So he tells Imam Ali, huh, did
- 59:52you make a sale? Did you make either way excited?
- 59:54By the way, it was only three dates they sold, just so you
- 59:56know, at that time it was big, like one day it's probably like,
- 1:00:00I don't know, £50 note here in the UK.
- 1:00:01I'm not sure. Yeah.
- 1:00:03So he was very happy. Nathan was very, very happy.
- 1:00:06Imam Ali handed him over the money.
- 1:00:07And Nathan goes, you're a mirror.
- 1:00:12You know the unseen. And you know the secrets of the
- 1:00:14world. How can you not know that these
- 1:00:16coins are forged? They're fake, The counterfeit
- 1:00:21mom? Ali tells him.
- 1:00:22Blah. But don't worry, relax, relax,
- 1:00:24don't worry about this, Dunya. Don't worry about it.
- 1:00:27You know, time was passed. The person who bought the dates
- 1:00:30comes back and he goes saying, you know what, I want a refund.
- 1:00:36I want to give you back the dates that I bought from you and
- 1:00:38give me my money back. So Nathan tells him why it
- 1:00:43doesn't. The days you told me, oh bitter.
- 1:00:46The days that you sold me are bitter.
- 1:00:48Gave him the money, put the dates back and they went Imam.
- 1:00:50I told him. See.
- 1:00:51What did I tell you bro? The sweetness of this world,
- 1:00:56this is bitterness in the hereafter.
- 1:00:57They understand. It's like you.
- 1:00:59You can deceive someone. But bro, if Allah wants to make
- 1:01:02what you put inside your body bitter, you're never ever going
- 1:01:05to see the sweetness and the honey of Allah.
- 1:01:06Sapana, West Island. So I think that was a nice story
- 1:01:08to share it. Was very nice.
- 1:01:09It's very. Nice a day, Salah.
- 1:01:11There's a lot, there's a lot to talk about.
- 1:01:12Yeah. Marshall, Allah, Allah, bless
- 1:01:14him. We remember Sharon.
- 1:01:15Maban's coming up. I was lucky, by the way, last
- 1:01:18year to actually visit his. I went with Jaffer.
- 1:01:21It was sorry, two years ago, Arbine, 2 years, two years ago.
- 1:01:24And you know, I I took it all in and we were there with Shahrail
- 1:01:28Rashid, you know, he brang his story to life and we had
- 1:01:31Marshallah Sejal reciting his Munajat when it comes to me.
- 1:01:36And we had an amazing poster by Zane.
- 1:01:38I want Zane. I want.
- 1:01:39Sorry. And one lot of Brang made them
- 1:01:41as if he was there in front of me.
- 1:01:43Yeah, I made them. As someone in Charlotte, we can
- 1:01:45all connect. Charla, there's there's so many
- 1:01:48companions. I was speaking to Muhammad Ali
- 1:01:50to my night shout out my yes, I think we could mention.
- 1:01:55Him my likes. More like Carol.
- 1:01:57And yeah, yeah, we're. Mentioning him more than the
- 1:01:59Amazon Fire Stick. Yeah, yeah, Shout Amazon Fire
- 1:02:01Stick. That son.
- 1:02:05Yeah. No, I was saying to him, I was
- 1:02:07like, why do you think? I think it was him who mentioned
- 1:02:10it to me or was it someone else? I remember it was like, why?
- 1:02:14Why do we know so much about the earlier companions compared to
- 1:02:17the, you know, the the native Imams or the the the companions
- 1:02:21of the Imams after Imam AS Sajad for example, we have genuinely
- 1:02:24less. Of course we have so many.
- 1:02:26And the response that I was given or told, I'm not saying
- 1:02:31this is the response, but it's it's an interesting perspective
- 1:02:34is that these were the companions that helped establish
- 1:02:36the religion, You know, they helped solidify Islam, you know,
- 1:02:40for what it is today and what it became the beautiful a religion
- 1:02:44of a last plan to Allah. So the respect that these
- 1:02:46companions have is a different level.
- 1:02:49You know, of course the jihad of the the later companions is
- 1:02:52incomparable in many cases a very different struggle.
- 1:02:55But the struggle of the earlier companions is a a discussion we
- 1:03:00have to have. I'm just going to name drop a
- 1:03:02few of the companions which I really like in the later Imams
- 1:03:05that we wrap up and show up. So it's habilage mark.
- 1:03:08There's the people of consensus, the later imams.
- 1:03:11There are 18 of them. I'm just going to mention about
- 1:03:133 or 4. From Imam Al Barker to Imam Al
- 1:03:17Salaam, Alaam, Salaam, Zorada. Of course we know Mahmal,
- 1:03:20Barker, Basir. We've talked about him before in
- 1:03:22the podcast. Mohammed bin Muslim, Imam Al
- 1:03:25Barker Companions, Imam Al Sadiq, Jamil bin Duraj.
- 1:03:28We've talked about him before. Aban bin Osman also I think
- 1:03:32Hashim Al Hakam, but he's not on this list.
- 1:03:35Companions of Mumbak, Yunus, Spin, Abdul Rahman.
- 1:03:42These are all some of the major companions of the later Imams,
- 1:03:45which of course deserve the same credit as all the others.
- 1:03:47So inshallah we can learn more about them.
- 1:03:50There's unfortunately not a lot of works in English.
- 1:03:54I know it's building, but islam.org is a great, great,
- 1:03:58great place to. Start.

- 1:04:03These are great sources for us to look into and at least get

- 1:04:10Yeah. Yeah, we do.
- 1:04:12We owe them our thanks. We're the my love and we we have
- 1:04:14to do justice them. We have to learn more.
