- 0:12Speaker 1: listening to give them Laala with Randal.
- 0:16Speaker 2: Yes, that was special intro.
- 0:19Speaker 1: Well, I did it like that because we have a
- 0:22Speaker 1: really amazing guest today who you know how you say
- 0:25Speaker 1: that you're you have like a radio voice, like you
- 0:29Speaker 1: have a face for radio.
- 0:30Speaker 2: I say that our guest when you say it's insulting.
- 0:34Speaker 1: Our guest has a face for television and a voice
- 0:38Speaker 1: for radio.
- 0:39Speaker 2: No, that's a win.
- 0:40Speaker 1: That's a win, double wham.
- 0:42Speaker 2: Yeah. And by the way, I agree with you because
- 0:44Speaker 2: I've heard her podcast and she crushes and she's got
- 0:47Speaker 2: that voice that if I didn't know her, I think
- 0:49Speaker 2: she's got a face for radio. But she's got the
- 0:51Speaker 2: face am the voice. So you're right.
- 0:53Speaker 1: And the last time I did her podcast, I felt
- 0:55Speaker 1: like I was being interviewed by Oprah.
- 0:58Speaker 3: Wow, I really did. And I told her that I
- 1:01Speaker 3: was like, why am I sweating? And I feel like
- 1:04Speaker 3: you just are like.
- 1:05Speaker 1: The end all be all of every interview ever.
- 1:09Speaker 2: I think that's very impressive that you give her that credibility.
- 1:12Speaker 2: I got to say that I heard her podcast and
- 1:14Speaker 2: I was I didn't know what to expect going in,
- 1:17Speaker 2: and she crushes it. She really is prepared. She has
- 1:20Speaker 2: really interesting guests that like have a lot to say,
- 1:23Speaker 2: like you know, on different platforms, not just like entertainment
- 1:26Speaker 2: and reality, she intes. She invites really like a relevant,
- 1:30Speaker 2: you know, guests that we're.
- 1:32Speaker 1: And it's like it's fun guests who also are very
- 1:37Speaker 1: much like they They have strong opinions, they have beautiful minds,
- 1:43Speaker 1: and it's like there, it's interesting to listen to. So
- 1:46Speaker 1: we're talking about my bff, motherfucking Katie Maloney.
- 1:52Speaker 3: Yes, so we're gonna.
- 1:56Speaker 2: So we're gonna have her on right after the break. Yes,
- 1:58Speaker 2: And want I want to tell you something, So you
- 2:00Speaker 2: know that my favorite game on the podcast has become trivia.
- 2:03Speaker 2: I have prepared one of the greatest vander Pump trivia
- 2:08Speaker 2: games this episode. Really, yeah, because it's you against Katie.
- 2:12Speaker 2: I mean, Katie's been on the show longer than.
- 2:15Speaker 3: You, right, but you both nine years.
- 2:17Speaker 2: Right, and you've been on the show that you are six
- 2:19Speaker 2: years Ye, so you're only a few years shy. But
- 2:22Speaker 2: I still expect you to know everything. Oh god, yeah,
- 2:24Speaker 2: I expect you to win. So yeah, if you lose,
- 2:27Speaker 2: I'm going to be really disappointed. Okay, but I have
- 2:29Speaker 2: a feeling Katie's going to come in strong in this game,
- 2:32Speaker 2: so we'll see what happens. But that's the game today.
- 2:35Speaker 2: It's know your vander Pump.
- 2:38Speaker 1: Wow, No, you're vander Pump.
- 2:39Speaker 3: I dig it.
- 2:40Speaker 1: So before we have her on, I just want to
- 2:42Speaker 1: say I woke up this morning feeling like P Diddy
- 2:47Speaker 1: and how does p Diddy? Was ready to hit the
- 2:50Speaker 1: city anyway, that's a Kesha song. But I woke up
- 2:53Speaker 1: and I was like, today, I'm going to start my
- 2:55Speaker 1: day off with a Heineken zero So wow, Yeah, that's
- 2:59Speaker 1: how great I felt. It was like I woke up
- 3:02Speaker 1: birds chirping, started my day with my baby on the boob,
- 3:06Speaker 1: and a little bit of Real Housewives of New York,
- 3:09Speaker 1: because what is the day without Real Housewives of New York?
- 3:14Speaker 2: Randall, I'm working on my quiz. I was just leaving
- 3:16Speaker 2: my quiz.
- 3:17Speaker 3: Can you work on your quiz after?
- 3:19Speaker 2: Yes?
- 3:20Speaker 1: Okay, so we're coming off of Memorial Day. Yes, I
- 3:25Speaker 1: had the best day.
- 3:27Speaker 2: Ever, so did I. First of all, I want to
- 3:29Speaker 2: say about Mortal Day, I want to just give thanks
- 3:31Speaker 2: to the troops that serve our country and that have
- 3:34Speaker 2: given their life for our country. I want to thank
- 3:37Speaker 2: the men and women that serve in our armed forces.
- 3:40Speaker 1: I do want to say that you took the words
- 3:42Speaker 1: right out of my mouth. One hundred percent agree you.
- 3:47Speaker 1: Your father was in the military, Yes, both of my grandparents.
- 3:51Speaker 3: Yep, so amen to what you just said.
- 3:55Speaker 1: I hope everybody also had a great Memorial Day and
- 3:58Speaker 1: came together and had a great time celebrated but was
- 4:02Speaker 1: also safe. So we had Jackson, Britt Bowen stas Katie
- 4:07Speaker 1: and Schwartzy.
- 4:09Speaker 3: It was the best day ever.
- 4:10Speaker 1: And you know, even though vander Pump Rules is very
- 4:13Speaker 1: much real life, right, it was so amazing to have
- 4:19Speaker 1: like just our group back together because even though yes
- 4:25Speaker 1: we are a family, anybody that's in the vander Pump
- 4:27Speaker 1: universe on the show.
- 4:30Speaker 3: There's not like.
- 4:32Speaker 1: We had the core group back in action, and it
- 4:35Speaker 1: was amazing and there was like no vander talk, which
- 4:39Speaker 1: you know, when you're filming a show, you can sometimes
- 4:42Speaker 1: be heavy on the vander talk. And it's like for
- 4:44Speaker 1: me to maintain sanity, and I think for a lot
- 4:46Speaker 1: of people that film reality TV, you have to be
- 4:49Speaker 1: able to separate the two or else you're gonna go insane.
- 4:54Speaker 2: Meaning when you're done filming your day and going through
- 4:57Speaker 2: all the drama that you guys go through, sometimes it's
- 5:00Speaker 2: nice to just come home and talk about.
- 5:01Speaker 1: Nothing because let's just say, like, all of these things
- 5:06Speaker 1: happen in real life and you're arguing, but then you
- 5:08Speaker 1: make up.
- 5:09Speaker 3: Well, guess what.
- 5:10Speaker 1: When there's cameras around, it's like you're opening yourself up
- 5:13Speaker 1: to have to relive it, and you're also opening yourself
- 5:17Speaker 1: up to other people weighing in on how you reacted. Right,
- 5:22Speaker 1: that's a lot of stress and pressure. Correct, So I
- 5:24Speaker 1: have to be able to say, Okay, you freaked out tonight.
- 5:27Speaker 1: If cameras weren't around, it would be no big deal.
- 5:30Speaker 1: But cameras were around, so you.
- 5:32Speaker 2: Find I mean, like if you had a fight and
- 5:34Speaker 2: there's no cameras, just one person saw it, you have
- 5:37Speaker 2: to fight tonight. Now the whole world season.
- 5:38Speaker 3: The whole world sees it.
- 5:40Speaker 1: You. You have other people weighing in on like you're
- 5:43Speaker 1: a bitch whatever, and you're like, ah, shit, Like it's a.
- 5:46Speaker 3: Lot of pressure.
- 5:47Speaker 2: It's a lot of pressure, and it also probably makes
- 5:49Speaker 2: you I mean, I don't know because I don't I
- 5:51Speaker 2: don't do what you do, but I know that it
- 5:53Speaker 2: probably affects you on a law I mean, I know
- 5:56Speaker 2: because I see you at home. It definitely affects your
- 5:58Speaker 2: long term. You know, you think about things more, you
- 6:01Speaker 2: obsess over things more, and sometidys you regret things even
- 6:04Speaker 2: more that you've said.
- 6:05Speaker 1: So of course, yeah, so the silver lining for me
- 6:08Speaker 1: always has to be La.
- 6:10Speaker 3: La, you made great to eat tonight.
- 6:13Speaker 1: Otherwise you'll drive yourself insane beating yourself up over every
- 6:17Speaker 1: single thing that you've done. Anyway, going back full circle
- 6:21Speaker 1: to why I started this conversation was there was little
- 6:23Speaker 1: vander talk because our best friends are you know, no
- 6:27Speaker 1: longer on the show.
- 6:28Speaker 3: But it was like a baby fest. It was so cute.
- 6:32Speaker 1: Hartford looked like she wanted to eat Ocean like they
- 6:36Speaker 1: bonded yesterday. It was the most adorable thing. You know,
- 6:39Speaker 1: Ocean's eyes are still adjusting to like, ooh the world,
- 6:42Speaker 1: like where am I? Whereas Hartford, you know, she's going
- 6:45Speaker 1: to be five months, so she's like.
- 6:47Speaker 2: She's already seeing most everything.
- 6:49Speaker 1: Oh No. She looked at Ocean and was like, you're
- 6:51Speaker 1: a baby. I'm a baby. Let's do the damn thing.
- 6:54Speaker 1: You're my best friend.
- 6:55Speaker 2: Wow.
- 6:56Speaker 4: That happened yesterday, Yeah I did.
- 6:58Speaker 1: Where was I pick You were pickleball in your ass off?
- 7:02Speaker 2: Yeah I was. But that's amazing that that happened. And
- 7:04Speaker 2: then you didn't even tell me that till right now.
- 7:06Speaker 1: Well you were hard to like when you are in
- 7:09Speaker 1: your poker zone. Pickleball, And now what is that thing
- 7:13Speaker 1: called ping pong?
- 7:14Speaker 2: Okay, pig pong?
- 7:15Speaker 1: The piece you love A good key I only like.
- 7:20Speaker 2: But the ping pong's in the office, so it's like
- 7:22Speaker 2: it's an extension of pickleball. But I only do that
- 7:25Speaker 2: when I'm in the office when I need like a
- 7:27Speaker 2: stress break.
- 7:27Speaker 1: Well, now that my office is in your office and
- 7:30Speaker 1: I try to get your attention and you're like, I
- 7:32Speaker 1: need support right now, it's like very frustrating, but it's okay.
- 7:36Speaker 1: I work it out. I work it out emotionally, I'm good.
- 7:38Speaker 1: I'm like, he just needs to like get hit.
- 7:42Speaker 2: Yeah, you a ball.
- 7:43Speaker 3: Poker and ping pong are your passions.
- 7:48Speaker 2: But I want to tell you something You've got to remember.
- 7:50Speaker 2: Though you scrolled in the office today at twelve thirty.
- 7:54Speaker 2: I scrolled in the office at eight thirty, so I've
- 7:56Speaker 2: already had three four hours of intense conversation, negotiations.
- 8:01Speaker 1: So just I had an intense day at all, like
- 8:03Speaker 1: I don't have a new baby. On the boo at
- 8:06Speaker 1: way two hours, I don't have a baby, say the
- 8:10Speaker 1: first from call it, I did it?
- 8:11Speaker 2: Wait we have a baby? That stuff was like not you,
- 8:14Speaker 2: we but I want to say baby.
- 8:15Speaker 1: Hold up, hold up? Can we just talk about yesterday
- 8:18Speaker 1: real quick? Because Randal sees ocean, I finally get her
- 8:21Speaker 1: calm down. She's in her little bouncer. She's listening to
- 8:24Speaker 1: a whole lot of money by Bia. She's fucking kicking
- 8:26Speaker 1: it and vibing, and randall decize it, that's the perfect
- 8:31Speaker 1: time to go and pick her up.
- 8:33Speaker 2: Well, hold on, stop, you're not telling the whole story version.
- 8:36Speaker 1: There's no other version if you.
- 8:39Speaker 2: Let me talk, all right. I walked over. Everybody was
- 8:43Speaker 2: grooving at the to the party. They were in their zone,
- 8:45Speaker 2: and my little baby was there and I'd come off
- 8:47Speaker 2: the pick a ball court and I saw my child
- 8:49Speaker 2: and she just looked at me with her eyes that
- 8:51Speaker 2: I melt into and I was like, I need to
- 8:53Speaker 2: hold my baby. And she was basically trying to tell me,
- 8:55Speaker 2: please pick me up, pick me up. So I picked
- 8:58Speaker 2: her up. We went out by the pool, we laid down.
- 9:00Speaker 2: Everything was great. It lasted about two and a half
- 9:03Speaker 2: to three minutes, and then.
- 9:06Speaker 1: Dress work SVA diva baby stepped in and what does
- 9:09Speaker 1: Randall do? Comes over to me and hands her back
- 9:12Speaker 1: and says, here you go, babe.
- 9:13Speaker 2: That's all what I said. Second, you're so good.
- 9:18Speaker 1: I think those words entered your mind but never came
- 9:21Speaker 1: out of your mouth.
- 9:22Speaker 2: You know. I want to just say something. Everybody has
- 9:24Speaker 2: their strengths and weeks. It's okay. I take good baths
- 9:27Speaker 2: with her, I could swim with her. I cuddle her
- 9:29Speaker 2: when she's not screaming. And I just want to tell
- 9:31Speaker 2: you something. I did get her to calm down twice
- 9:33Speaker 2: the other day. I remember you were impressed.
- 9:35Speaker 1: Yes, I was very impressed.
- 9:36Speaker 2: But I want you to remember something. As our daughter
- 9:40Speaker 2: grows and wants to go on fourteen thousand rides in
- 9:44Speaker 2: ninety three degree heat at Disneyland Disney World, I Captain
- 9:48Speaker 2: Disney will be there. And when you say, babe, I
- 9:52Speaker 2: need a break, I need to sit in here conditionally relax.
- 9:55Speaker 2: I just want you to know that I will always
- 9:56Speaker 2: have your back, so just remember I might not be
- 9:59Speaker 2: the best at calming arcolicy, beautiful child down who.
- 10:03Speaker 1: By the way, is only just shy of three months.
- 10:06Speaker 1: You don't have to sell me rand.
- 10:07Speaker 2: Because you tell me I'm awesome.
- 10:10Speaker 1: You okay, So you don't have to tell me that,
- 10:13Speaker 1: because can I tell you something And I have said
- 10:17Speaker 1: this to many people. You you really hooked me. You
- 10:22Speaker 1: hooked me quick when we first met. But you really
- 10:24Speaker 1: hooked me when I saw you the first night that
- 10:28Speaker 1: we spent together and I was in bed still it
- 10:31Speaker 1: was morning time. You stepped into the other room to
- 10:33Speaker 1: talk to your daughter, London, who was six at the time,
- 10:37Speaker 1: and you were on the phone with her, and she
- 10:39Speaker 1: must have been talking about a kid who was bullying
- 10:41Speaker 1: her at school, and you said, and I could hear
- 10:45Speaker 1: you better tell that kid to be nice to you,
- 10:47Speaker 1: or your dad's gonna come and squash him like a bug.
- 10:50Speaker 3: So you don't have to sell me on the fact.
- 10:52Speaker 1: That you are a great father, because I know that's
- 10:54Speaker 1: why I used to the real hook No, and that
- 10:57Speaker 1: means I'm just teasing you.
- 10:59Speaker 2: Listen. What I'm saying is I just want to say this.
- 11:02Speaker 2: You are an amazing mother. I'm very lucky to have you.
- 11:05Speaker 2: You crush it daily, hourly and when I say I
- 11:08Speaker 2: have to come to work at a thirty and grind,
- 11:10Speaker 2: all I'm saying is sometimes by noon, Not that you
- 11:13Speaker 2: haven't done your job. By the way, you were up
- 11:15Speaker 2: at six am with Ocean feeding, bathing her, feeding her,
- 11:20Speaker 2: changing her divers so not taking away that is a
- 11:22Speaker 2: full time job. What I'm saying is by noon. I
- 11:26Speaker 2: was just trying to express that sometimes by noon the
- 11:29Speaker 2: stress that I have in the office, the ping pong
- 11:32Speaker 2: is a release.
- 11:33Speaker 3: I totally that's all.
- 11:35Speaker 1: I will always bust your balls, It'll never stop. But
- 11:39Speaker 1: you know that I am beyond grateful for the life
- 11:42Speaker 1: that you've provided.
- 11:42Speaker 2: And I want to say when I know you are,
- 11:44Speaker 2: and I want to say one last thing that's important.
- 11:45Speaker 2: I was by no means because you know how I
- 11:47Speaker 2: feel and how appreciative I am of you as a
- 11:49Speaker 2: mother in the work that you do, because you work
- 11:52Speaker 2: full time and you're a mother full time and it's amazing.
- 11:55Speaker 2: What I want to say is, I'm very proud that
- 11:56Speaker 2: you wake up every morning and just are in it
- 12:00Speaker 2: to win it with Ocean, and I give you a
- 12:03Speaker 2: lot of prots because you the patience that you have.
- 12:07Speaker 1: That I've gained because of it because I didn't have
- 12:09Speaker 1: patience before.
- 12:10Speaker 2: That's true, you had no patience, but no and the
- 12:12Speaker 2: love that you give her every hour, every minute. And
- 12:15Speaker 2: by the way, a lot of mothers would say, oh,
- 12:16Speaker 2: you know, that's just part of being a parent. But
- 12:18Speaker 2: you know, when you sit there and you watch your
- 12:20Speaker 2: partner who's on calls and doing interviews and selling, you know, makeup,
- 12:24Speaker 2: and in between breastfeeding and then you know, babing her baby,
- 12:28Speaker 2: it's it's just it's it's very It makes you very
- 12:30Speaker 2: proud to be your partner.
- 12:31Speaker 1: Thank you, my love. Now that this has turned into
- 12:34Speaker 1: we're going to toot each other's horns with Laala and Randall,
- 12:38Speaker 1: that's the new podcast name.
- 12:40Speaker 2: All right, I think we got to go to a
- 12:41Speaker 2: break so we can come back and we have a
- 12:43Speaker 2: lot of time with Katie because she's so fun and
- 12:45Speaker 2: your best friend.
- 12:46Speaker 1: I know, I can't wait. So when we come back,
- 12:48Speaker 1: we got Katie Maloney. We are back. In case you
- 12:55Speaker 1: missed it and you've been living under a rock. This
- 12:57Speaker 1: is the Give Them La La with Randall a pod
- 13:00Speaker 1: and our guest today is Katie Maloney. What's up, Bestie?
- 13:05Speaker 3: Hey, I'm so excited to have you.
- 13:08Speaker 1: I'm happy to be here.
- 13:09Speaker 4: I'm back, come back back, You're back.
- 13:12Speaker 1: How you feeling I'm feeling good.
- 13:14Speaker 4: I wish I could say I'm rested, but I'm not.
- 13:16Speaker 3: You're not.
- 13:17Speaker 4: No, No, Why I have this thing where I like
- 13:20Speaker 4: to wake up at four o'clock in the morning.
- 13:21Speaker 3: You should have a baby. That would be like the
- 13:23Speaker 3: perfect time. Good watch.
- 13:26Speaker 1: Once you do have a baby, you're gonna be like,
- 13:27Speaker 1: why am I sleeping like a baby? And I can
- 13:29Speaker 1: sleep until noon, but I have to be up now.
- 13:32Speaker 2: You know what. Sometimes I wake up like this morning,
- 13:33Speaker 2: I did wake up at four thirty, and I was
- 13:35Speaker 2: mad it was four thirty because when the light's not up,
- 13:37Speaker 2: then I'm just pissed, right, So then I was like
- 13:39Speaker 2: I have to mentally get myself back to sleep, which
- 13:42Speaker 2: I did, but it's not easy.
- 13:43Speaker 1: Wait, is Schwartzy's still waking up at four as well?
- 13:45Speaker 1: Like are you guys still in that powtern?
- 13:46Speaker 2: No?
- 13:47Speaker 1: He was just like, sound asleep, sound asleep.
- 13:51Speaker 4: I was so upset.
- 13:51Speaker 1: I tried.
- 13:52Speaker 4: I laid there, I did like the whole like what
- 13:55Speaker 4: do they call it? Block breathing? I try to go
- 13:57Speaker 4: back to sleep, but nope, I was like, to.
- 14:00Speaker 2: Take anything before you go to bed.
- 14:02Speaker 4: Sometimes I will, but then sometimes I don't want to
- 14:05Speaker 4: because I'll wake up with like a like a hang
- 14:07Speaker 4: over from it, and I'm really really groggy, and the
- 14:10Speaker 4: whole day I'm just like on like a slug totally.
- 14:13Speaker 3: I get that same way.
- 14:15Speaker 4: Yeah, So I didn't want to, but I probably should
- 14:17Speaker 4: have because I was really just wiped out, because like
- 14:19Speaker 4: this past week felt like such a marathon. My body
- 14:23Speaker 4: just like really really went through it.
- 14:24Speaker 1: I felt like, well, I mean, we're back filming, and
- 14:26Speaker 1: that's emotionally taxing on your soul.
- 14:29Speaker 2: Now, by the way, you guys are filming again. I
- 14:32Speaker 2: don't know if everybody knows that, but you are. How
- 14:35Speaker 2: is it from a year in pandemic to full time cameras,
- 14:40Speaker 2: a NonStop you know action. Is it more exhausting? Is
- 14:44Speaker 2: it more exhausting this season only because you've been on
- 14:49Speaker 2: the sideline for a year, or is it the same
- 14:51Speaker 2: and you're right back at it? Like, how does it feel?
- 14:53Speaker 4: It's definitely more exhausting, like being just kind of low
- 14:56Speaker 4: key going to bed at like nine, chilling out. My
- 15:00Speaker 4: stamina is gone, right, I feel like I'm trying I'm
- 15:03Speaker 4: trying to like slowly work it up and you know, yeah,
- 15:06Speaker 4: at least staying up late and doing something every day.
- 15:11Speaker 4: It's been that's been the hardest for I don't know,
- 15:14Speaker 4: I feel like just kind of staying just being busy.
- 15:17Speaker 2: Yeah, because you guys speak as lot, you guys. I mean,
- 15:19Speaker 2: you guys have had a year where you didn't discuss
- 15:22Speaker 2: the show, you didn't do I mean, everybody were all
- 15:24Speaker 2: in lockdown. All of our lives were thrown upside down,
- 15:27Speaker 2: and now boom, camera's back on and you're right back
- 15:29Speaker 2: where you left off. It's got to be it's got
- 15:32Speaker 2: to be exhausting.
- 15:33Speaker 1: Yeah, how do you How do you feel did the
- 15:35Speaker 1: Because I know the pandemic affected everybody differently, someone like me.
- 15:40Speaker 1: I really loved being in lockdown because it was the
- 15:44Speaker 1: first time ever that my mind was calm, you know,
- 15:47Speaker 1: because it's like you could say no because everyone was
- 15:50Speaker 1: saying no. It's like we literally can't go anywhere or
- 15:53Speaker 1: do anything, especially the first little bit when it was
- 15:55Speaker 1: like people were trying to figure out before the Zoom
- 15:57Speaker 1: thing became a really big like well that's how we'll
- 16:00Speaker 1: just live life is through Zoom. So the first little bit.
- 16:03Speaker 1: I was like, this is awesome. I'm finally calm and
- 16:05Speaker 1: I can just stay home and not feel guilty.
- 16:07Speaker 3: Like, how did it affect you?
- 16:09Speaker 4: Loved it? I'm such a homebody. I love love being
- 16:13Speaker 4: at home. So I feel like I was thriving. I
- 16:16Speaker 4: was like I was built for this. I was built
- 16:19Speaker 4: for this. Stay at home all the time, don't have
- 16:22Speaker 4: to go anywhere. Yeah, Like I was always trying to
- 16:25Speaker 4: find ways to say no to things, and I didn't
- 16:27Speaker 4: have to worry about that.
- 16:28Speaker 2: And how did I do it?
- 16:30Speaker 3: Randall wanted to claw his eyes out.
- 16:33Speaker 4: I feel like y'all were y'all were gone usually most
- 16:36Speaker 4: of the time. You know, you were you were here,
- 16:38Speaker 4: but you were gone, you know, in Miami or.
- 16:40Speaker 2: Here you did you know, we did travel a lot
- 16:44Speaker 2: because I'm I was working on the movies, and we
- 16:46Speaker 2: did End of Puerto Rico for a month in Miami
- 16:48Speaker 2: and Palm Springs and different places.
- 16:50Speaker 4: But but I mean, you guys were here. But I
- 16:52Speaker 4: mean like, typically outside of the pandemic, you guys had
- 16:55Speaker 4: a very go, go go life. So I feel like
- 16:57Speaker 4: it was a harder adjustment for you all than anyone else.
- 17:00Speaker 4: It was you had you had to write days.
- 17:07Speaker 2: Lalla loves to be at home.
- 17:08Speaker 1: For me, I was like, we can't go anywhere, Randall,
- 17:11Speaker 1: We're in a pandemic.
- 17:13Speaker 2: Once I got the movie back up and they were
- 17:16Speaker 2: letting us go film under very strict protocols, I was,
- 17:19Speaker 2: I was okay, it was a different world, and it
- 17:21Speaker 2: was and it was still pandemic. But but the first
- 17:24Speaker 2: four months, you know, for me, it wasn't even being
- 17:26Speaker 2: at home that was so shocking and rattling. It was
- 17:30Speaker 2: the first four months of like how am I going
- 17:32Speaker 2: to make a living? And when is it going to end?
- 17:36Speaker 4: It was the unknown. It was a little hard.
- 17:38Speaker 2: It was hard.
- 17:39Speaker 4: I think that was hard for everyone because you know,
- 17:41Speaker 4: I was fine with it all, but it was kind
- 17:43Speaker 4: of like, can we just know how long this is
- 17:45Speaker 4: going to be? Is it going to be six months? Fine?
- 17:48Speaker 4: Is it going to be a year?
- 17:49Speaker 1: Fine?
- 17:49Speaker 4: Like just like knowing or not knowing was a little
- 17:53Speaker 4: bit of a I'm kind of a control freak just
- 17:56Speaker 4: when I should be wrong like that. I just want
- 17:58Speaker 4: to know when I need to be ready.
- 17:59Speaker 2: And I'm by the way, get Pedicrey for I'm being serious.
- 18:05Speaker 2: I think you hit it on the head. I think
- 18:06Speaker 2: for me, it was those four months or five months,
- 18:08Speaker 2: And yes, it was a very hard year financially for
- 18:11Speaker 2: us and for everybody around the world. It was hard.
- 18:14Speaker 2: It was hard for for all of us. I think
- 18:16Speaker 2: the hardest part for me mentally get the financial you know,
- 18:20Speaker 2: toughness that it presented from my company and for all
- 18:23Speaker 2: of us, was that first four months. I just never
- 18:27Speaker 2: none of us had ever been you can't. I couldn't
- 18:29Speaker 2: call my parents and say, remember in nineteen fifty two,
- 18:32Speaker 2: what was this? Like, nobody had an answer. Now they
- 18:35Speaker 2: were When I talked to my mom and dad, they
- 18:37Speaker 2: were scared, like my friends were scared. Like everybody played
- 18:40Speaker 2: like it We're going to get through it, but everybody
- 18:42Speaker 2: was petrified and not knowing there was an end, not
- 18:45Speaker 2: knowing there would ever be a vaccine, not knowing there
- 18:47Speaker 2: was a whole world gonna you know, you know, collapse
- 18:50Speaker 2: even farther, and I just was so I think mentally worried,
- 18:55Speaker 2: and it was traumatic. I think for all of us.
- 18:57Speaker 4: In fact, that it was global too. It's not like
- 18:59Speaker 4: we could just correct correct piece out to like another
- 19:02Speaker 4: country like it was global. I mean, it was like
- 19:05Speaker 4: and it was. It was a global freak out.
- 19:07Speaker 2: And then the images on TV of seeing like in
- 19:09Speaker 2: Italy where they're locked in their homes and and and
- 19:12Speaker 2: tens of thousands.
- 19:13Speaker 3: It just gave me chills.
- 19:14Speaker 4: You saying that, you know, home everywhere just.
- 19:17Speaker 2: And there was nothing positive and there was no hope
- 19:21Speaker 2: in sight those first four to five months. And then
- 19:23Speaker 2: after five months, you know, certain numbers in certain places
- 19:26Speaker 2: started to look optimistic and you'd go, oh, okay, that country
- 19:29Speaker 2: is doing better, and that means we're going to start
- 19:31Speaker 2: doing better. And it was just like you would you
- 19:33Speaker 2: would hold on to this little hope in different places,
- 19:36Speaker 2: and then of course it would go right back to
- 19:37Speaker 2: ship and you'd be like, you know, so it was
- 19:41Speaker 2: just this for me. You know, yes I'm a go
- 19:43Speaker 2: go go, but I also can you know, be home
- 19:47Speaker 2: with family and really thrive in that. I just didn't
- 19:50Speaker 2: like not knowing am I gonna be able to ever
- 19:51Speaker 2: work again or make money again? Because that was scary.
- 19:55Speaker 1: That's the other part, because I don't want to come
- 19:56Speaker 1: across as insensitive because there were people that people.
- 20:00Speaker 4: Lost their livelihoods, they lost their their businesses, right, they
- 20:03Speaker 4: lost everything. So I don't want to negate that there
- 20:06Speaker 4: was people lost more and them you know, and I
- 20:08Speaker 4: can only speak of my own experience, right obviously.
- 20:11Speaker 3: You know, we went into lockdown.
- 20:13Speaker 1: Remember we were about to head out to Mexico for
- 20:16Speaker 1: my bachelorette party. So I had my closest friends fly
- 20:19Speaker 1: in and they were at my house. My mom was
- 20:21Speaker 1: at my house. You know, there were people that in
- 20:23Speaker 1: let's just say strictly lock down, that they couldn't see
- 20:27Speaker 1: their families that were in other places for a year.
- 20:30Speaker 2: I have friends that didn't see their parents for a
- 20:32Speaker 2: year and a half.
- 20:33Speaker 1: Right, So I definitely don't want to say, like, I
- 20:35Speaker 1: don't know why Eddie Wood didn't thrive. I'm just saying,
- 20:37Speaker 1: like you in our own you know, state that in
- 20:41Speaker 1: our bubble that I also enjoyed it.
- 20:44Speaker 4: But I mean, I just I didn't mind not being
- 20:46Speaker 4: able to leave my house. But I mean, I'm not
- 20:48Speaker 4: saying that it wasn't like a horrific GIF.
- 20:50Speaker 2: No, it was, by the way. By the way, now
- 20:52Speaker 2: that I go out and I see a lot of
- 20:54Speaker 2: the world thriving and the numbers down and the vaccine
- 20:57Speaker 2: really making its way through, I will say that I
- 21:00Speaker 2: have such comfort and relief to see people living again.
- 21:05Speaker 2: And you know, when I go to Miami and I
- 21:06Speaker 2: take my parents to dinner. It's like before they wouldn't
- 21:09Speaker 2: leave the house. I mean I literally would get I would,
- 21:10Speaker 2: I would go, you know, I would sit you know,
- 21:13Speaker 2: outside fifteen feet away from them. You know, we'd have
- 21:16Speaker 2: like a dinner. And I was lucky that I was
- 21:18Speaker 2: able to go see them because a lot of people couldn't.
- 21:20Speaker 2: But you know, I think that this pandemic taught at
- 21:24Speaker 2: least taught me a lot about appreciation. Like I said
- 21:27Speaker 2: to me, Yeah, I said to myself when it first
- 21:30Speaker 2: hit and we were driving on the freeway and there
- 21:32Speaker 2: was not a single car, like two cars, and I
- 21:34Speaker 2: said to law, I was like, I will never complaining
- 21:37Speaker 2: of the traffic again, never never. You'll never hear I
- 21:40Speaker 2: don't care yet sucks, but I will rather see four
- 21:43Speaker 2: thousand bumper to bumper than not see people.
- 21:46Speaker 4: And you know, yeah, I think a lot of people,
- 21:47Speaker 4: you know, because there was so much loss happening, lives
- 21:50Speaker 4: and just livelihood that I think everyone is that definitely
- 21:56Speaker 4: appreciates what we have, everything, everything, their health, mm hmmm, anything.
- 22:01Speaker 2: I think he so much more grateful for. And I
- 22:03Speaker 2: think I leave it at this. I think health for
- 22:05Speaker 2: me that I made it through that my family made
- 22:09Speaker 2: it through, but I had a lot of friends that
- 22:11Speaker 2: didn't make it through. I have a lot of friends
- 22:12Speaker 2: that have a lot of effects from COVID and friends
- 22:14Speaker 2: that lost their lives. I think now appreciation goes in
- 22:19Speaker 2: health to the highest level for me one hundred and
- 22:22Speaker 2: then and then and then businesses. Watching people that had
- 22:26Speaker 2: little businesses for twenty years gone in months, you know,
- 22:31Speaker 2: and that's that was heartbreaking, the sea.
- 22:33Speaker 4: Soul sad driving around and just seeing just for lease
- 22:35Speaker 4: signs on all these businesses, you know, that just gone.
- 22:39Speaker 1: I think Lisa was saying that there were over like
- 22:41Speaker 1: one hundred thousand restaurants that just like did not make
- 22:45Speaker 1: it through, and how grateful she was that, you know,
- 22:48Speaker 1: she still has pump Tom. Tom made it through, Sir
- 22:51Speaker 1: made it through, which is you know, a huge, a
- 22:55Speaker 1: huge deal because I know that for a while she
- 22:57Speaker 1: was like, what are we going to do that?
- 23:00Speaker 3: Tom's worried.
- 23:02Speaker 4: I think everyone was worried. Yeah, no one knew because
- 23:06Speaker 4: we did not know when it was going to be opened,
- 23:08Speaker 4: So there was a big if on everything.
- 23:10Speaker 2: Right. Yeah, I want to say one thing, the food,
- 23:13Speaker 2: the restaurant industry, the hospitality business, because they have a
- 23:16Speaker 2: lot of friends in that in Florida and New York
- 23:18Speaker 2: and here they they are the most devastated. I mean
- 23:22Speaker 2: a lot of business we're devastated. But they say that
- 23:24Speaker 2: that's one of the ones that will take the longest
- 23:26Speaker 2: to recover. Like a lot of like hotel and airline
- 23:29Speaker 2: is coming back very quickly at big numbers. But they
- 23:33Speaker 2: the hospitality business, they say, well, will come back, but
- 23:35Speaker 2: they say, we'll take years. And some of the businesses,
- 23:37Speaker 2: the smaller ones, will never come back. And I think
- 23:40Speaker 2: that's the heartbreaking part of what happened during this pandemic,
- 23:43Speaker 2: that a lot of businesses will never you know, will
- 23:45Speaker 2: never see them again.
- 23:46Speaker 1: Right. So, now that we're back, Katie, and you said
- 23:49Speaker 1: your stamina is definitely lowed, it's yeah.
- 23:54Speaker 3: And I know how the drill goes.
- 23:56Speaker 1: How we don't spill too much tea, but like, do
- 23:59Speaker 1: how do you feel emotionally without giving away storylines, how
- 24:02Speaker 1: do you feel vander Pump Season nine is going.
- 24:07Speaker 4: Oh, I mean without giving anything.
- 24:13Speaker 1: From a viewer, first, I think perspective. If I was
- 24:15Speaker 1: a viewer and I said, like, how you know, I.
- 24:17Speaker 4: Think it's the same as every year I always going in,
- 24:20Speaker 4: always going in being like, you know, how are we
- 24:23Speaker 4: going to make it better than the year before? Like
- 24:25Speaker 4: what are we going to do? You know, we're always
- 24:27Speaker 4: we always want to go in and make it the
- 24:29Speaker 4: best season possible, and we're always like, how are we
- 24:31Speaker 4: going to make it, you know, better than the year before?
- 24:34Speaker 4: And I feel like we always bring it, you know,
- 24:37Speaker 4: we always manage. You know, it always just happens. It
- 24:39Speaker 4: always just happens because we all really care, you know,
- 24:43Speaker 4: we all have just led out for this show. So
- 24:46Speaker 4: I don't know, I feel really good about it. I mean,
- 24:48Speaker 4: obviously it's going to be different or you know, missing
- 24:52Speaker 4: people that have been on from the beginning, so it's
- 24:54Speaker 4: not only can they can't not to be different and
- 24:57Speaker 4: look different and feel different. But you know, I'm feeling
- 25:00Speaker 4: pretty good about it. I'm feeling life. Yeah, I'm feeling
- 25:03Speaker 4: pretty good too.
- 25:03Speaker 1: And like in when we would do interviews and things
- 25:07Speaker 1: like that, I'm sure you get asked the same question
- 25:09Speaker 1: like what can we expect from this season?
- 25:11Speaker 3: And this was the first year that I was like,
- 25:13Speaker 3: I have no idea.
- 25:15Speaker 1: But then we going, you know, first week, and I
- 25:19Speaker 1: feel like I got hit by a bus because I
- 25:21Speaker 1: was like, holy shit, we like are we're maybe we're back?
- 25:27Speaker 3: Like this is crazy.
- 25:29Speaker 1: Not only do we not have core people not returning,
- 25:33Speaker 1: but they were like really fucking heavy hitters. They knew
- 25:36Speaker 1: how to feel and express, which is what reality television
- 25:40Speaker 1: is all about.
- 25:41Speaker 2: Yeah, but let me say this. The one thing I
- 25:43Speaker 2: was never worried. And I told you this the whole time.
- 25:46Speaker 2: Your show is you know, just it's iconic, it's classic.
- 25:52Speaker 2: It's got all the drama and then some. And for
- 25:55Speaker 2: you guys to even have any worry, I think when
- 25:58Speaker 2: you put your group together for some reason, it's like
- 26:01Speaker 2: lightning in a bottle, and you guys just you know,
- 26:04Speaker 2: you know each other for a long time. And I
- 26:06Speaker 2: think that from an outsider, you know, somebody who looks
- 26:09Speaker 2: in and sees the whole thing and watches and I
- 26:12Speaker 2: think that is just one of those things nine years
- 26:14Speaker 2: that that's not that's not a mistake, Like that is
- 26:18Speaker 2: magic in a bottle, lightning a bottle, whatever you call it.
- 26:20Speaker 2: And I think that you guys, when you jump back
- 26:23Speaker 2: in and you all had your anxiety, that that's under
- 26:25Speaker 2: that's normal. But for an audience, I think we all
- 26:28Speaker 2: show up because it's you, guys, and you do it,
- 26:31Speaker 2: and you do it the way you do it, and
- 26:32Speaker 2: whatever happens each season, you've you've entertained us for for
- 26:37Speaker 2: nine years or eight years, and this year and nine.
- 26:39Speaker 2: So I don't think. I don't think you guys are
- 26:41Speaker 2: going anywhere. I think we're all here to watch.
- 26:44Speaker 1: Okay, well before we or break, before we cut to
- 26:47Speaker 1: a break and talk about all things.
- 26:49Speaker 3: Katie Maloney, I want.
- 26:52Speaker 1: To know because you know, we you know, we're girls,
- 26:55Speaker 1: and before we have to go film. You know, Katie
- 26:58Speaker 1: and I always text each other like what are you
- 26:59Speaker 1: gonna way tonight? Katie's response is always the same, and
- 27:03Speaker 1: then you know, she says, I don't know what I
- 27:06Speaker 1: want to wear. I don't feel cute in anything, which
- 27:08Speaker 1: you know. Then she shows up looking chic as fuck.
- 27:12Speaker 1: You look so chic this season. Things, the hair, the
- 27:16Speaker 1: look like. I don't understand this. It needs to be
- 27:19Speaker 1: a regular thing for you. You always look cool, though you
- 27:21Speaker 1: always look cool, But for someone being like I have
- 27:23Speaker 1: nothing to wear and then you show up looking bomb,
- 27:26Speaker 1: I'm like, what the fuck?
- 27:27Speaker 4: Doesn't everyone say that though I have nothing to wear,
- 27:29Speaker 4: that's just but that's how I feel I think part
- 27:31Speaker 4: of it's also like because I have literally worn the
- 27:33Speaker 4: same uniform of like stretchy, soft clothes for the past year,
- 27:37Speaker 4: so it's like, you know, I feel like I'm not
- 27:39Speaker 4: burnt out on everything. I'm not tired of anything. I
- 27:41Speaker 4: haven't worn anything, So I'm looking at my closet with
- 27:44Speaker 4: fresh eyes, you know. So maybe maybe that's part of it.
- 27:47Speaker 3: I don't, Okay, that could be.
- 27:48Speaker 4: I'm feeling a little more inspired and a little more
- 27:51Speaker 4: adventurous with my clothing.
- 27:53Speaker 1: It's so good, especially with the haircut.
- 27:57Speaker 3: Did you remember how to put makeup on?
- 28:01Speaker 4: Yeah? I think that's that's just something in me.
- 28:04Speaker 3: Okay, I feel sad.
- 28:07Speaker 1: I forgot For a sec I was like, what do
- 28:09Speaker 1: I do with these lashes? Like how do I even
- 28:11Speaker 1: put them on my eyeball?
- 28:12Speaker 4: But oh okay, I would even post and give them
- 28:15Speaker 4: la la all lockdown long?
- 28:18Speaker 1: Can I tell you give them laala? Beauty thrived in
- 28:21Speaker 1: the lockdown? Like when Randall was worried about his business,
- 28:25Speaker 1: I was like, we got this, babe.
- 28:27Speaker 2: That is true. She was. She was on fire, and
- 28:30Speaker 2: I was sitting on the sidelines figuring out how to
- 28:32Speaker 2: get our movie industry back to work. But you're right.
- 28:35Speaker 2: You were. You were in there selling and crushing. I
- 28:38Speaker 2: was really proud of you.
- 28:39Speaker 3: Well, thank you.
- 28:40Speaker 1: We're going to cut to the brake and then we
- 28:42Speaker 1: are back with Katie Maloney and I can't wait to
- 28:44Speaker 1: talk about what you got going on.
- 28:46Speaker 3: Girl. All right, we're back. We're with Katie Maloney.
- 28:52Speaker 1: What's up?
- 28:55Speaker 3: She's like my VFF.
- 28:56Speaker 1: So I just feel like we're like talking and then
- 28:58Speaker 1: I look and I'm like, what does this microphone do?
- 29:00Speaker 2: Let me let me talk from an interviewer point of
- 29:02Speaker 2: view over here. Okay, I mean it's it's like two
- 29:04Speaker 2: girls at lunch, all right, because all of us want
- 29:06Speaker 2: to hear some shit. So, Katie, so I know you
- 29:09Speaker 2: have a new podcast. What episode are you on? And
- 29:11Speaker 2: also what drove you to start one before?
- 29:14Speaker 3: No?
- 29:15Speaker 1: I we also before the podcast, you just celebrated.
- 29:19Speaker 4: A million a million downloads.
- 29:22Speaker 2: Congratulations.
- 29:24Speaker 1: I did not mean to cut you off, but I
- 29:26Speaker 1: just wanted to celebrate.
- 29:27Speaker 2: Say, that is a huge accomplishment, and so I am
- 29:30Speaker 2: that deserves a beat. Actually, let's take a moment for
- 29:33Speaker 2: a million downloads. Now, that's huge, Katie. So how many
- 29:39Speaker 2: episodes in? And also what I what excites me to
- 29:41Speaker 2: hear like the story is like, what you woke up
- 29:44Speaker 2: one day and why a podcast? Because you obviously have
- 29:47Speaker 2: other things going on, a lot of business. No, just
- 29:50Speaker 2: but but why, but why did you wake up and
- 29:52Speaker 2: say I want to start a podcast?
- 29:54Speaker 4: It is It's something I've been thinking about for a
- 29:56Speaker 4: long time. But you know, I'm one of those people
- 29:58Speaker 4: that will I'm very risk adverse. I'm scared of doing things.
- 30:03Speaker 4: I'm scared of failing at things. So yeah, so I've
- 30:06Speaker 4: been thinking about it for a long time and wanted to,
- 30:10Speaker 4: you know, really kind of flush out what it was
- 30:12Speaker 4: going to be. I wanted to come up with something,
- 30:14Speaker 4: you know, like I didn't want to just get on
- 30:16Speaker 4: a microphone and bullshit and just like, yeah, so.
- 30:20Speaker 2: How did you come up with your concept of kind
- 30:23Speaker 2: of where you wanted the show to feel or what
- 30:25Speaker 2: about or you know, did you just approssive elimination or
- 30:28Speaker 2: you had something specific? How did you get there?
- 30:30Speaker 4: I'm kind of there was a friend of mine name Jessica,
- 30:34Speaker 4: and I was going to do a podcast with her,
- 30:36Speaker 4: and she had this great idea and so it didn't
- 30:38Speaker 4: work out, but it kind of like sort of like
- 30:41Speaker 4: took a little bit of that idea and sort of
- 30:43Speaker 4: like changed.
- 30:44Speaker 3: It up a little.
- 30:44Speaker 4: It was going to be something totally different, but it
- 30:46Speaker 4: kind of like took a little bit of that and
- 30:48Speaker 4: just sort of like, well.
- 30:50Speaker 1: You took the Katie piece of it and took it
- 30:52Speaker 1: as your own. Yeah, Katie, but so you morphed it
- 30:56Speaker 1: into that and then.
- 30:57Speaker 4: Put put put more of me into it.
- 31:00Speaker 2: And do you and do you like? I mean, when
- 31:01Speaker 2: you do it, do you love it now?
- 31:03Speaker 4: I mean I love it. I was so scared of
- 31:06Speaker 4: it at first, and I so I I did a
- 31:10Speaker 4: bunch of I recorded a bunch of episodes before I
- 31:14Speaker 4: launched it, so I had a bunch of, you know,
- 31:17Speaker 4: time to think about whether or not people were going
- 31:19Speaker 4: to like it or hate it, so that you know,
- 31:21Speaker 4: people love it, you know, you know what that was
- 31:24Speaker 4: going to do in my mind. But yeah, I wanted
- 31:26Speaker 4: to I wanted to talk to not just other people
- 31:29Speaker 4: in reality TV, but you know, my idea for every
- 31:33Speaker 4: episode was to make people, you know, really fall in
- 31:35Speaker 4: love with people, whether they knew them, whether they hated them,
- 31:38Speaker 4: whether they had any kind of idea of who they were,
- 31:40Speaker 4: just to have a conversation that was not like a
- 31:42Speaker 4: conversation that you were expecting to have or you know,
- 31:46Speaker 4: any would have a preconceived notion or a notion or idea,
- 31:50Speaker 4: but just you know, I'm always curious about who people
- 31:52Speaker 4: were when they were younger, in high school. I think
- 31:54Speaker 4: that's always like an interesting place to start from because
- 31:57Speaker 4: I don't know, it's really like how they happen in years,
- 32:00Speaker 4: you know, and.
- 32:01Speaker 2: How they became who they are today shapes us.
- 32:05Speaker 4: Yeah, what people are scared of, you know, what people
- 32:08Speaker 4: you know, what their fears are, what they regret, you know,
- 32:13Speaker 4: those things are always really interesting. Those things are what
- 32:15Speaker 4: makes someone human, and those are things that we can
- 32:18Speaker 4: relate to on that kind of human level. I like
- 32:20Speaker 4: to like humanize people, you know, in my eyes and
- 32:23Speaker 4: everyone else's eyes, because I think sometimes it is it
- 32:26Speaker 4: is very primitive of us to judge people. It's kind
- 32:30Speaker 4: of like what we do to protect ourselves as a
- 32:33Speaker 4: safety measure.
- 32:33Speaker 2: You know.
- 32:34Speaker 4: So when you can humanize someone, you can you know,
- 32:37Speaker 4: understand them on another deeper level, right, and it's like,
- 32:41Speaker 4: you know, if you love them or if you like
- 32:43Speaker 4: them so right.
- 32:44Speaker 1: Is that kind of where the name came from because
- 32:47Speaker 1: the podcast is You're Gonna Love Me with Katie maloney.
- 32:50Speaker 4: That's exactly where you.
- 32:51Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean you, because we've spoken and you've always said,
- 32:55Speaker 1: like the show is really the only thing that people
- 32:58Speaker 1: have to say, Oh yeah, I know quote unquote Katie
- 33:01Speaker 1: or I know La La, I know Stacy. So this
- 33:04Speaker 1: was like really your way of showing who you are
- 33:08Speaker 1: when cameras are turned off on the show.
- 33:11Speaker 4: I have been someone who's been a mean girl or
- 33:16Speaker 4: a bully or a bitch or you know, I've I've
- 33:18Speaker 4: I've been very kind of put in a box. And
- 33:21Speaker 4: so yeah, to have something outside the show where people
- 33:25Speaker 4: can get to know me, you can hear me, have
- 33:27Speaker 4: you know, conversations with other people and get to understand,
- 33:29Speaker 4: you know, get to do all the sides of me, right,
- 33:32Speaker 4: you know, I'm we we we're more than one. We're
- 33:34Speaker 4: not one dimensional that we kind of can come across
- 33:37Speaker 4: on the show. And that's that's fine. It's fun, it's entertaining,
- 33:40Speaker 4: of course, you know, it's whatever. But yeah, so it's
- 33:43Speaker 4: also like you're gonna love me, so yeah, but to
- 33:49Speaker 4: also talk to like all kinds of people, you know,
- 33:51Speaker 4: I like to have conversations with people who challenge, to
- 33:56Speaker 4: challenge my opinions on things, who have me as a person,
- 33:59Speaker 4: So you know, being able to have those kinds of
- 34:01Speaker 4: conversations will definitely allow people to get to know like
- 34:05Speaker 4: who I am beyond just talking to Lala or stas
- 34:10Speaker 4: here fighting with Tom on the show, and that's what
- 34:12Speaker 4: I really wanted.
- 34:13Speaker 2: To showcase on my pocket.
- 34:16Speaker 1: Yes, I think you do a great job, because I
- 34:18Speaker 1: was telling Randall that I felt like I was being
- 34:21Speaker 1: interviewed by.
- 34:22Speaker 4: Oprah because it's such a compliment.
- 34:24Speaker 1: I mean, I mean it.
- 34:26Speaker 4: I mean I do take like that sort of like
- 34:29Speaker 4: journalistic interview approach to it.
- 34:32Speaker 3: You kill it.
- 34:32Speaker 4: I like to spend a lot of time prepping I've read.
- 34:36Speaker 4: If someone's got a book, I'll read it if you know.
- 34:39Speaker 1: You really put in the work, which is amazing and
- 34:42Speaker 1: you should be very proud, which I know you are.
- 34:44Speaker 1: When I did your podcast, I like started sweating because
- 34:49Speaker 1: I was like, oh, oh, we're going there, like we're
- 34:51Speaker 1: going that. I mean, we spoke about when I was
- 34:55Speaker 1: bullied as a child, and this was like pre give
- 34:57Speaker 1: them Lala the book, and I really never opened up
- 35:01Speaker 1: about things like that, and you took me there, which
- 35:05Speaker 1: I enjoy and I like hearing how people started because
- 35:08Speaker 1: like you said, it's the formative years they get to
- 35:11Speaker 1: people to where they are today. I think you do
- 35:13Speaker 1: an impeccable job. So you hitting a million downloads. I
- 35:17Speaker 1: was like, even though it's huge, I was not shocked
- 35:20Speaker 1: by it.
- 35:21Speaker 4: Oh, thank you, I know that's I was. I was
- 35:23Speaker 4: shocked by it because it's it started last August, so
- 35:27Speaker 4: oh wow, closing in on a year. But you know
- 35:30Speaker 4: that how many how.
- 35:31Speaker 2: Many episodes in the year? You did fifty like every week,
- 35:34Speaker 2: every week, two weeks. So what I'm fifty two episodes?
- 35:37Speaker 4: Basically, well, it's not until August.
- 35:39Speaker 2: Oh, so you're only your nine months I spend on you.
- 35:46Speaker 2: You're just ten months in. Yes, that's great, that's huge.
- 35:50Speaker 1: And she also has her merch, which by the way,
- 35:53Speaker 1: makes a heavy appearance on Banner Pump. It was the
- 35:55Speaker 1: craziest thing. I got my merch and then like Sheena
- 35:58Speaker 1: showed up in it. The next stay, Tom Sandoval was
- 36:01Speaker 1: in it. Then I heard Ariano was in it. Just
- 36:04Speaker 1: so I'm looking at this sweat and I'm like, I
- 36:06Speaker 1: can't wear it right now. Everyone's warned it, like should
- 36:08Speaker 1: we give it a break? Maybe for a second.
- 36:11Speaker 4: I feel like I joke that I'm like the you
- 36:13Speaker 4: know how like in NASCAR, they like all like everyone's
- 36:16Speaker 4: wearing like their you know sponsors. I'm like the Wonderbread. Yeah,
- 36:21Speaker 4: they're like my like Little F one formula or racers.
- 36:23Speaker 2: That's amazing.
- 36:24Speaker 1: Yeah. No, your merch is the Wonderbread of vander Pump.
- 36:28Speaker 4: Yeah yeah yeah. I think some people don't understand that
- 36:32Speaker 4: it's merched for my podcast, and they think I just
- 36:34Speaker 4: came out with the clothing line.
- 36:35Speaker 1: Notes it's for my podcast.
- 36:36Speaker 4: Yeah, that's why I says you're gonna love me on it.
- 36:38Speaker 1: But I think that's what I love about it is
- 36:40Speaker 1: that even people that don't, if they just like come
- 36:42Speaker 1: across your page and they're like, oh that's what suits dope,
- 36:45Speaker 1: you like, I would still buy that because I'm that
- 36:48Speaker 1: egotistical where I'm like, you will love me if you
- 36:52Speaker 1: don't already, or you're just put your face on it
- 36:54Speaker 1: or I just smack my face on it.
- 36:56Speaker 3: Exactly what are you like?
- 36:58Speaker 2: You know?
- 36:58Speaker 4: I real?
- 37:00Speaker 3: Although, where can they get your merch?
- 37:02Speaker 4: So you can go to the Dear Media website in.
- 37:04Speaker 1: The shop Okay, Dear Media web you'll see it there.
- 37:06Speaker 4: But the sweatshirt's almost so doubt there's only a size
- 37:09Speaker 4: small left. Oh damn, but the sweatpants are available, and
- 37:13Speaker 4: there's hats still, so.
- 37:15Speaker 3: The cutest dad hat ever.
- 37:17Speaker 2: Really.
- 37:17Speaker 1: Yeah, the merch is awesome. I was super impressed by
- 37:20Speaker 1: a cute color, the perfect shade of lavender.
- 37:23Speaker 3: Would you call that a lavender?
- 37:24Speaker 1: It's a light shade of purple?
- 37:26Speaker 4: Yeah, really light, almost grayish purple. Yes, it's so good
- 37:30Speaker 4: summer color.
- 37:31Speaker 3: Amazing.
- 37:32Speaker 2: Well, guys, I have really enjoyed this thus far, and
- 37:35Speaker 2: it is time for vander Pump Trivia. I know that
- 37:39Speaker 2: you two have a lot to say. We could go
- 37:40Speaker 2: on for three episodes and I love it, but it
- 37:43Speaker 2: is time for trivia, the highlight of my day. Okay,
- 37:46Speaker 2: all right, the first question.
- 37:49Speaker 1: You.
- 37:49Speaker 2: The way we're going to do this is you'll just
- 37:53Speaker 2: get the table and then you'll be.
- 37:56Speaker 4: Okay, should we just raise our hands?
- 37:57Speaker 2: Okay, raise your hand. Whoever's hand goes up first, get
- 37:59Speaker 2: SAMs of the question. If you're wrong, you will pass
- 38:02Speaker 2: to your competitor. Okay, Okay, here we go. The final
- 38:06Speaker 2: episode of each of the first three seasons of vander
- 38:09Speaker 2: Pump Rules showed the surf staff participating in what.
- 38:12Speaker 1: Activity photo shoot?
- 38:15Speaker 2: Yes, calendar photo shoot.
- 38:17Speaker 3: Damn well, yes, that's what I said.
- 38:19Speaker 1: Photo.
- 38:20Speaker 2: Wow, And I need to give you the options we
- 38:21Speaker 2: have a I can give you choices. You nailed it
- 38:24Speaker 2: without fast. I actually like it this way because since
- 38:30Speaker 2: your cast members on the show, you shouldn't even get options.
- 38:32Speaker 2: You shouldn't have know what not.
- 38:33Speaker 4: So we know what we could do it.
- 38:35Speaker 1: But if okay, okay, okay, So one zero, Okay, this.
- 38:38Speaker 2: Is going to be a question to you because it's
- 38:40Speaker 2: about Katie.
- 38:41Speaker 3: Okay.
- 38:42Speaker 2: Tom Schwartz and Katie often use what pet name when
- 38:45Speaker 2: referring to one another.
- 38:47Speaker 1: Okay, that was easy, I call them.
- 38:51Speaker 2: Okay, well that's too easy.
- 38:53Speaker 3: Can I still get a point though.
- 38:54Speaker 2: Yeah, you get a point. She's going to get a
- 38:56Speaker 2: question about you. So who has been seen wearing a
- 39:01Speaker 2: Mumo dress around the house several times? Yes?
- 39:04Speaker 3: Her, the other Tom Schwartz.
- 39:06Speaker 2: That is correct. That is correct.
- 39:08Speaker 4: I could have answered that.
- 39:10Speaker 1: That's okay, okay, okay, I'm still taking the point.
- 39:14Speaker 4: I'm a winner two to one.
- 39:17Speaker 2: Okay. What is Stossey's favorite food on the menuet? Sir?
- 39:22Speaker 2: Go ahead? That is correct. We have a tie right now.
- 39:25Speaker 2: I need hand. This is a good one. I have
- 39:31Speaker 2: no clue NASCAR driver Austin Dillon signed what item for
- 39:37Speaker 2: Tom sand of All before race.
- 39:39Speaker 4: His flat iron.
- 39:44Speaker 2: You're like, you're like a superstar.
- 39:47Speaker 1: Wait, well, did they show that on the show or
- 39:49Speaker 1: do you just know that he.
- 39:52Speaker 4: Definitely talked about it. I don't know if they showed
- 39:53Speaker 4: it like happening, but he's definitely talked about Okay, three
- 39:57Speaker 4: to two.
- 39:58Speaker 2: Katie, Okay, I'm not even letting you guys.
- 40:02Speaker 4: If you went you would have known what.
- 40:05Speaker 2: Okay, here's that time who released a music single called
- 40:10Speaker 2: good as Gold? Both of you can tie out. Okay,
- 40:15Speaker 2: you guys, that's a tie. That's a tie. That's how
- 40:16Speaker 2: you both went up the same time.
- 40:17Speaker 1: So right?
- 40:19Speaker 2: Yes?
- 40:20Speaker 3: Four three four.
- 40:21Speaker 2: Four three, which Bravo TV show launched by having the
- 40:27Speaker 2: vander Pump cast visit in the episode Yes.
- 40:29Speaker 1: Wait, what was it again with Beverly Hills Housewives No
- 40:34Speaker 1: Summer House.
- 40:34Speaker 2: Yes, which Bravo TV show launched the inaugural uh an
- 40:40Speaker 2: inaugural episode with the van.
- 40:43Speaker 3: I was can I tell you what I was thinking?
- 40:45Speaker 1: I thought, what how did they launch vander Pump Rules
- 40:48Speaker 1: which was Beverly Hill whatever?
- 40:50Speaker 3: Okay, can you get it?
- 40:52Speaker 2: I'm gonna I'm gonna I'm gonna give you four dogs names.
- 40:56Speaker 2: Which one of these? After you hear all four, you
- 41:00Speaker 2: can raise your hand whippers first? Is not one of
- 41:02Speaker 2: Lisa's dogs? Giggy Jiggy, Jiggy, sorry, Gigi, rest in peace?
- 41:10Speaker 2: Daddy O Kimba.
- 41:12Speaker 4: Pikachu Kimbo Kimbo.
- 41:15Speaker 2: What you're correct? Wow?
- 41:16Speaker 1: I was going to say the one before that was
- 41:18Speaker 1: Daddy O. Daddy was Jiggy's dead?
- 41:20Speaker 2: Wow? You are like, I mean you what is the score?
- 41:25Speaker 1: I think it's like six? Yeah?
- 41:27Speaker 3: Six four?
- 41:28Speaker 2: Okay. Shina has a forearm tattoo that says what I know.
- 41:33Speaker 3: She gave it to me. Haters, you can handle, I
- 41:35Speaker 3: was it's all happening.
- 41:38Speaker 2: Wow, Okay, here we go. Which of these people is
- 41:43Speaker 2: Lisa vander Pump's biological style? Pandora shut her hand up.
- 41:48Speaker 3: Well we have to put all the way up.
- 41:51Speaker 2: Yeah, you're right. What's the score. What's the score?
- 41:53Speaker 3: Well now it's six six? Yeah?
- 41:56Speaker 2: Okay. Who did Lisa fire from Surfer Disrespect Management?
- 42:01Speaker 3: Chris Kristen Dodi.
- 42:04Speaker 1: I gave it tie.
- 42:05Speaker 3: It's a tiebreaker. It's a tie breaker.
- 42:10Speaker 2: The cast once had a comedy roast for which actor
- 42:13Speaker 2: on the show. Well, Jax, Yes, that's it, that's it.
- 42:18Speaker 2: We have the Queen via Katie Maloney.
- 42:26Speaker 4: By the way, Lala.
- 42:27Speaker 2: Air and by the way, it was a fair fight.
- 42:29Speaker 2: And the fact that you were on the show three
- 42:31Speaker 2: years less still were neck and neck. This was an
- 42:34Speaker 2: amazing trivia.
- 42:35Speaker 1: Because that's what I did in the Pandemic when we
- 42:37Speaker 1: were in lockdown is I started vander Pump Rules from
- 42:40Speaker 1: season one because I had never seen it, and when
- 42:42Speaker 1: I watched, I was like, holy shit, these people are
- 42:45Speaker 1: fucking crazy and I'm a part.
- 42:47Speaker 3: Of it now this season two, man, Lala amazing.
- 42:52Speaker 2: Let me tell you one thing. What you fit right in?
- 42:56Speaker 3: I know I do. That was amazing. Way, baby, Hey,
- 43:01Speaker 3: I wear that with pride.
- 43:03Speaker 2: Well, listen, i gotta tell you something I am not.
- 43:06Speaker 2: I'm not a cast member, but I will tell you this.
- 43:08Speaker 2: I've been around and you know, a few times to film,
- 43:11Speaker 2: to watch you guys, and I will tell you what's
- 43:12Speaker 2: what's amazing from somebody who's not really in it. I
- 43:16Speaker 2: sit there sometimes and watch you guys in the brief
- 43:19Speaker 2: moments I've been around, and you start doing your thing,
- 43:22Speaker 2: and I'm like, I feel like I'm at home in
- 43:24Speaker 2: the living room watching you guys, and I have to
- 43:27Speaker 2: be like, oh shit, I have to I have to
- 43:29Speaker 2: like pretend I don't even know what's going on, so
- 43:31Speaker 2: I get it's like amazing to watch you guys.
- 43:33Speaker 1: You guys really a huge compliment because you you know,
- 43:36Speaker 1: sometimes there are people out there that are like, oh,
- 43:39Speaker 1: I feel like it's forced, or it's oh.
- 43:40Speaker 2: No, no, no, no, no, no no.
- 43:43Speaker 1: You have like a live viewing because you're watching and
- 43:46Speaker 1: you're like, this is like really happening. You know, you've
- 43:49Speaker 1: been there for a lot of the moments this season
- 43:52Speaker 1: and last.
- 43:53Speaker 2: Well, the thing is like the few times I've been
- 43:55Speaker 2: around watching you guys, it's just amazing. I mean, you
- 43:59Speaker 2: guys just are in it and it's no holding back,
- 44:02Speaker 2: and you guys just kind of like I'm sitting there
- 44:04Speaker 2: having a piece of steak, thinking that we're at dinner
- 44:08Speaker 2: and this is like a very nice, quiet dinner, and
- 44:09Speaker 2: then all of a sudden, people are standing up and
- 44:11Speaker 2: shit's hitting the fan, and I'm like, oh shit, crawl
- 44:15Speaker 2: in a hole. Also, anyway, you guys are It's amazing
- 44:18Speaker 2: what you guys do. I could never do what you do.
- 44:22Speaker 2: I'm proud of both of you. You guys are amazing,
- 44:25Speaker 2: and I'm really proud to say that you guys are
- 44:28Speaker 2: on the show because it is. It is an amazing show,
- 44:30Speaker 2: and you guys are very lucky to be, you know,
- 44:32Speaker 2: part of something that's been around for so long. Nine
- 44:34Speaker 2: years is unreal. Nine years of any television show is unreal.
- 44:38Speaker 2: It is so congratulations, Thank you, thank you.
- 44:41Speaker 1: I actively think Katie and like the Ogs because you know,
- 44:45Speaker 1: they really did lay down a phenomenal what would you
- 44:49Speaker 1: call it, flooding foundation for you know, me To be
- 44:54Speaker 1: able to come in and be a part of something
- 44:56Speaker 1: amazing that you guys started, it really is amazing. So
- 44:59Speaker 1: thank you Katie Maloney. Thank you for being a guest
- 45:01Speaker 1: on the fucking podcast.
