- 0:49Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So welcome back and welcome.
- 0:53Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Today we're gonna talk a little bit about meaning.
- 0:57Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: What's the meaning?
- 0:59Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: A lot of us look for the meaning of life, the meaning of what what activities, what things that we we do, and how how they're gonna affect others, the world, the human, human race, uh everybody.
- 1:22Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And it's been brought to kind of my my attention that you know we look for meaning, you know, here voices for voices, me as a as a leader, and I really don't think think of myself as a leader.
- 1:42Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Um I'm just a human being that wants to help other human beings is is really what it comes down to.
- 1:50Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Um so when there's you know the days of down where you know we we sit and our mind kind of ruminates and kind of goes down rabbit holes and doesn't all that we kind of think about what's what's this life for?
- 2:16Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: What are we here for?
- 2:18Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Why am I still alive, and why aren't other people still alive?
- 2:23Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Um and realizing that my time may be up today, maybe up in a second, a minute, an hour.
- 2:33Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Uh we would just we just don't know.
- 2:36Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And so that got me thinking of what we're doing at Voices for Voices, what we're doing with the show, what we're doing with publishing, uh among um some other areas.
- 2:53Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And something came to mind uh was actually stated by somebody that isn't myself, so it's not me self-glamorizing, but uh I thought it was interesting to hear, and as I did some research, there's a lot of similarities of what I'll be getting into and discussing, and what myself and the Voices for Voices organization, mythical creatures around the world, uh what we're doing with the work that we're doing, and why does it matter?
- 3:44Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Who cares?
- 3:45Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: You know, we we've had people call say, oh, this is a stupid podcast, stupid videos, and it gets me gets me sad and it gets me wondering, like what are what are we doing here?
- 4:07Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Are we doing are we are we making a positive difference?
- 4:12Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And when this particular person uh shared with with me what they thought with our our organization and then us as individuals and us as wanting to make the world a better place.
- 4:38Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And so, first, as you may know, we are we are talking about some pretty hard, pretty tough, pretty uh difficult, you name it, topics, and it ruffles feathers, people get upset, people been doing things for quite a while, possibly, and here we come along, and we are because we feel, and not just what we feel like, but what the laws actually say that we are a and I don't say this lightly at all, uh we are modern day Martin Luther King and when I first heard that I I was I was just thinking like no we're not we're I that I I don't think so.
- 6:03Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I d I don't know because I hadn't thought about like that.
- 6:07Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I I and everybody with voices for voices uh in any capacity hadn't really thought about like that because it's a little bit of judging and and then a little bit of like really is is that really the case?
- 6:34Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And so what I started to do was just a little bit of research on some of the some of the quotes that have carried Martin Luther King and his legacy.
- 6:50Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Now, I I I do want to say this.
- 6:56Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Everybody has skeletons in a closet.
- 6:59Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I don't care who you are, where you're from, we all have skeletons.
- 7:02Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So I know Martin Luther King Jr.
- 7:06Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: has been brought into the spotlight at times about certain things he may or may not have taken part of.
- 7:17Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And that's not the part that I'm talking about.
- 7:20Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So I'm not some I'm talking about the part where he is standing up, not sitting down.
- 7:32Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: He's talking as well as listening, and I started looking at a few of these quotes of his and then to see like this voices for voices, anything like this, and and so for uh you know, before we we we start looking through these, uh I just want to share, I was I was very I was very surprised.
- 8:08Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Um, you know, I've took history and things and over the years at school.
- 8:16Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And so I'm just gonna read off a few of Martin Luther King Jr.
- 8:24Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: his his quotes, and then we're gonna talk about them.
- 8:30Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So this first quote is quote, our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter, end quote.
- 8:41Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And I started to think about wait a minute.
- 8:48Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: If we remain silent, our lives begin to end, and I'm not taking these as gospel, I'm not at all.
- 8:59Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: It's just another human being at another point in time, and these were some of the quotes he he had uh spoken.
- 9:12Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And I look at so again, this is this is a full quote our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter.
- 9:23Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So if we see that the state of Ohio is the seventh highest state in human trafficking, and we talked to individuals who have been trafficked, we talked to people who have then had addictions, gone through trauma so much.
- 10:09Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And if we don't talk about it, we're doing in the public, we as an organization we're doing a disservice, so we're we're not standing up, we're just sitting down and letting things pass right by.
- 10:30Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So that quote right there.
- 10:37Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I can't stay silent about topics like these.
- 10:44Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I don't know who could.
- 10:49Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I I guess that's one of the reasons people continue to download and view and repost, reshare, and share with their contacts and they do all the things because they they see that they see that we're not silent.
- 11:17Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: They see that we have a platform and a teeny tiny megaphone.
- 11:30Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And so that that was the first quote from Martin Luther King Jr.
- 11:34Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And so I started thinking, as I just laid out.
- 11:42Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Second one, quote, use me, God, show me how to take who I am, who I want to be, and what I can do, and use it for a purpose greater than myself.
- 11:56Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: End quote.
- 11:59Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: You know, we've talked about this at length.
- 12:02Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: There's higher power, I feel.
- 12:04Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: For me, it's God.
- 12:05Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I don't it could be some something something else for you.
- 12:10Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Uh and and and so the reason why I'm here can't be because of things that I've done, because I'm not perfect, none of us humans, none of us are perfect.
- 12:27Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So it can't be because it can't be because of me, myself, and I has to be by a high power in this quote about God saying, show me how to take who I am, who I want to be, and what I can do, and use it for a purpose greater than myself.
- 12:58Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And I look at voices for voices.
- 13:02Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I as I just mentioned, I'm not here because of me.
- 13:07Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I'm not.
- 13:09Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: There's a reason why I'm I'm here and others aren't.
- 13:18Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: There's darn good people that have gone before us.
- 13:22Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Let me say that.
- 13:26Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Darn good people.
- 13:32Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And so for a purpose bigger than ourselves.
- 13:37Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Hmm.
- 13:38Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Where have we heard something like that before?
- 13:42Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Oh, when I share and say that we want to reach and help at least three billion people over the course of my lifetime and beyond, I'd say that's pretty big.
- 13:57Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I say that's bigger than me.
- 14:00Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I am one teeny teeny teeny out of three billion.
- 14:11Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And so I began to think, okay.
- 14:17Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So Martin Luther King is talking about a lot of things.
- 14:24Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: You know, segregation and um the other quote of the you know look at us by the content of our character, not the color of our skin.
- 14:42Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: That's another quote of Martin Luther King.
- 14:50Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So back to this quote.
- 14:53Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I'm not here because of man, I'm I'm here because of God.
- 15:00Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: You're here because of your higher power.
- 15:08Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And we're meant to do things that are big to help people.
- 15:13Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And so I started to think, well, yeah, as I just mentioned, we want to reach and help at least three billion with a B.
- 15:22Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Billion, not million, billion.
- 15:26Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: There's eight eight billion people in the world right now, thereabouts.
- 15:33Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I say we want to reach and help at least three billion people over the course of my lifetime and beyond.
- 15:40Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So that quote, you know, we can put a little check mark next to that.
- 15:51Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Another quote from Martin Luther King Jr.
- 15:54Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Quote, you don't have to see the whole staircase, just take the first step.
- 16:00Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: This is so true for voices for voices.
- 16:07Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: We started a show without a following, with nobody knowing us, kind of going out on a limb.
- 16:17Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Oh, this is a hobby, whatever you may call.
- 16:25Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: But is it really just a hobby?
- 16:32Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So we took our first step.
- 16:34Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: We had our first event, a brand new day, while COVID was going on.
- 16:41Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: We had speakers from Ohio in person all the way to New South Wales, Australia for that event.
- 16:56Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: We haven't had one in a couple years.
- 16:59Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Uh other areas are are taken off, and we will get back to having that that event.
- 17:11Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: But that was bigger than me.
- 17:13Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I think we had, like I said, twelve ten or twelve around there speakers.
- 17:20Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: We had sign language interpretators, we have special needs orchestra, we had professional musicians from the local orchestra, and I did it all by myself.
- 17:41Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: There's others that that helped with pieces and parts, but as far as getting things set up, the location, the speakers, making sure that you know the time change of here on the east coast versus Australia and and others in between.
- 18:02Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And so I could have not done that, but I did it.
- 18:19Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: No one knew anything about voices for voices, and there's a lot of people probably still that don't know a whole whole lot about us or even of us.
- 18:31Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So we just need to take that first step.
- 18:36Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: We don't have to see what is planned into the future.
- 18:43Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Like, what does God have for me in my future?
- 18:53Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: If anything, I I don't know.
- 18:57Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I I I have no idea.
- 19:04Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: It just incredible.
- 19:09Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Just take the first step.
- 19:12Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Just do it.
- 19:14Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Just take the first step.
- 19:16Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: What's the worst thing that happens?
- 19:18Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: You stop.
- 19:22Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: There's been things where I've taken a first step and they've turned out horribly.
- 19:37Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And then there's been things such as the Voices for Voices podcasts and TV show.
- 19:45Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Now's now has over five hundred and sixty episodes.
- 19:51Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: You can watch and listen.
- 19:53Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: We're in over 120 countries, I think.
- 19:59Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: A couple thousand cities.
- 20:02Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I can't do this by myself.
- 20:05Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: But I took the first step.
- 20:09Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: As things started to line up with the show and the filming, I started to learn.
- 20:21Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I started to learn.
- 20:24Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: What do I say?
- 20:27Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I keep saying I chose to learn.
- 20:32Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Because Mahatma Gandhi has a quote that says, quote, live as if you were to die tomorrow.
- 20:40Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Learn as if you were to live forever.
- 20:48Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So that's why I tried my darndest when we get our shows finished to get them edited and get them out.
- 20:58Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Because I don't know if today's my last day.
- 21:02Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: None of us know.
- 21:05Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And so that's from Mahatma Gandhi.
- 21:09Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And so learn as if we're gonna live together live forever.
- 21:16Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: That starts to make some sense.
- 21:21Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Because I constantly learn from others.
- 21:30Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And some of them I'm like, oh, oh, I can do that.
- 21:35Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Oh, that's a different way of working out, you know, your legs or whatever body part you're you're working out at the gym.
- 21:47Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And so I'm continuously learning, as Mahatma Gandhi says, as if I were to live forever, which I'm not, nobody is.
- 22:07Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So I digress.
- 22:09Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Back to back to Martin Luther King.
- 22:20Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy.
- 22:31Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: End quote.
- 22:37Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: It's so it's night and day when we talk about times of convenience, things that are easy versus things that aren't.
- 22:53Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So when I say that voices for voices are show, do we talk about easy topics and hard topics?
- 23:01Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: The easy topics would be topics of convenience.
- 23:04Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: The hard topics would be topics that are challenging to talk about, can be controversial, controversial.
- 23:20Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Apologize on how I say that.
- 23:30Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And so there's two ways to look at that.
- 23:38Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Again, this isn't I'm not getting I'm not getting any style points for for talking about these and having this.
- 23:50Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Not gaining hundreds of sponsors.
- 24:03Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So I'm not doing this.
- 24:06Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: What can be considered for fame?
- 24:13Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Because if I was, I probably would have stopped a heck of a lot farther back in our episode catalog of over 560.
- 24:25Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: If I was doing for fame, I probably would have done maybe 10 or 20 or 30 episodes and then been like, alright, that's not working, so I'm just we're just gonna put the the end to it and not do it anymore.
- 24:39Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: We could have done that.
- 24:41Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: We can talk about comfort topics, and we do.
- 24:47Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: We also talk about controversial and challenging topics.
- 25:09Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: From all over the world content, media.
- 25:19Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: We're giving them alternatives.
- 25:26Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Never had alternatives before.
- 25:28Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: It was one way or the highway.
- 25:32Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Want a book on a certain topic, you got to go to a certain area, a certain author, join us join certain groups.
- 25:48Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Now people are starting to see that well, there might be an alternative to that.
- 25:58Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And competition is good, otherwise it's a monopoly, not like the board game, which that's one of my favorite games ever, to play the game of monopoly.
- 26:13Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: But if one group, one individual, one owner, whatever you want to call it, has control of so many aspects of a certain thing, people start to lose faith, lose hope, and go, well, this is I I gotta do this because this is all all that's there.
- 26:49Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And voices for voices is now given a voice to those that never had a voice before.
- 26:59Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: They've had a voice, they don't they've just never been able to use it and utilize it in a much healthier way.
- 27:18Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So, yes, we do we do talk about controversial and challenging topics.
- 27:23Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: We always and we always not always we also talk about the easy and the comfort topics.
- 27:38Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: But I think it's very telling when Martin Luther King Jr.
- 27:44Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: says, quote, the ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he starts and where he stands at times of challenge and controversy.
- 28:00Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So first and foremost, is we stand, we don't just sit.
- 28:05Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I do a lot of sitting throughout the day, but what this is referring to is we can sit and let those controversial and challenging topics go by, or we cannot, and we we choose not to just watch those go by.
- 28:38Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Another quote Darkness cannot drive out darkness, only light can do that.
- 28:50Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Hate cannot drive out hate, only love can do that.
- 28:56Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Hear me say at the end of our shows, a lot of them, because it's unscripted, sometimes I I don't end up saying it, but I feel it and I mean it in the most sincere way that wherever you're at in life, we're sending our love and support.
- 29:22Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I don't know what all we can do to help you in your life.
- 29:27Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Our goal is obviously, as I said, to reach and help three billion people.
- 29:34Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So that's that's the big overarching goal.
- 29:39Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And so that's our goal of what we would like to do, what we're going to do.
- 29:49Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: But we're not gonna do it from a standpoint of darkness.
- 29:57Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: We're gonna do it from a position of love and support.
- 30:03Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: We're not gonna be hiding in the shadows.
- 30:11Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: We're gonna send love and support.
- 30:13Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I may not have met you, but we're still sending our love and support to you.
- 30:28Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So no matter where you're at in life, just know that voices for voices is sending love and support to you to do what you love to do, what you're meant to do.
- 30:49Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And we can only do that.
- 30:53Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Can only do that with light and with love.
- 31:00Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And so we let the challenging and controversial topics walk by, then we're letting the darkness take over.
- 31:14Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: If we're at the crosswalk saying, hold up, we have a public service announcement, public service statement, public safety statement, however you want to think of it, and then we talk about it.
- 31:40Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: We're not always gonna agree because we're humans, we're unique.
- 31:48Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So it's not a big deal.
- 31:52Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I just want you to know that you're always welcome here, you're always welcome to tune in, whether to watch, listen, no matter where you're at, no matter where you're at in life.
- 32:04Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: If you don't, that's fantastic.
- 32:08Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: If you're not, we still love you.
- 32:12Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: We still are sending our support, and there's a prayer that I pray for not only myself, but I pray for the whole world.
- 32:26Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: That's one of the prayers I pray at the end of the of every day, and that includes our enemies because we're all human at the end of the day.
- 32:41Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: That doesn't mean that people organizations shouldn't be held accountable.
- 32:50Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: That's not a freebie or like monopoly to get a hell of jail free card or spa.
- 33:02Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So we're bringing light to darkness we're bringing it through challenging times, controversial times.
- 33:28Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So that takes us to where the comment about voices for voices being a modern day Martin Luther King Jr.
- 33:55Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I just went through like five quotes.
- 34:04Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And again, at the outset, I did say I'm not looking past some of the things that are have been said in a negative light.
- 34:20Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Now, whether those are true or not, I don't know.
- 34:23Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: But what I just talked about were areas that we agree, and I didn't even think of I didn't even think of these quotes through the years the voices for voices has been around.
- 34:45Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: But when it was brought to my attention, that we're we're modern day Martin Luther King Jr.
- 34:59Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And we don't have to have again, we don't have to have billions or millions of followers or anything.
- 35:07Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: We're talking on our little our teeny tiny megaphone with the hopes that more people will come into the light with us that will step out of darkness, that will expose darkness.
- 35:36Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: We can love a person, but we don't have to love an act.
- 35:45Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So we do not wish harm on anybody.
- 35:58Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Look for justice for individuals who have a side of themselves that doesn't really match up with laws and regulations and being a neighbor.
- 36:28Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Not a neighbor that steals their TV, but a neighbor that is there to watch over while they may be on vacation and see any unusual activity and report it.
- 36:49Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And then we'll finish up with a couple more quotes uh with uh Mahatma Gandhi.
- 37:01Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: It's so this is from Mahatma Gandhi, a quote.
- 37:06Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Quote, it's easy to stand in the crowd, but it takes courage to stand alone, end quote.
- 37:16Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So true.
- 37:22Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: The quote of Martin Luther King Jr.
- 37:28Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: where he's talking about we gotta bring love, we gotta bring light to where there's darkness.
- 37:40Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: We gotta talk about challenging, controversial topics, and then the easy topics are those topics that we would just stand in the crowd.
- 38:01Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So there are a hundred people, ninety-nine would be in the crowd on one side, and then there'd be a one person on the other, and it takes courage to be that one person instead of that one of those ninety-nine, and I feel that a lot of being alone on most days because every day is not gonna be some incredible, awesome, whatever terms we want to use.
- 38:52Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Every day's not gonna be like that.
- 38:54Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: We want it to, it's just not, it's just not so it takes courage, and again, I'm not beating my own drum, I'm just saying it takes courage to do what we're doing, takes courage for me to decide to do these things, knowing that a lot of people are gonna get upset, but I want to help so many people that if I don't talk about topics and talk about areas of controversy and challenging, how can I turn my back on those people?
- 39:41Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I can't.
- 39:46Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I can't turn my back on those people.
- 39:49Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Absolutely not.
- 39:54Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So I guess I'm courageous.
- 39:56Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Again, I'm not getting bonus points, I'm not getting stickers, I'm not getting my I'm not getting that for saying these things.
- 40:07Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I'm giving factual quotes and applying it to voices for voices.
- 40:20Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So this show's gonna be like all the others.
- 40:22Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: It's gonna be it's gonna have a number to it, it's gonna have a title, description, all those things.
- 40:30Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And then we move on.
- 40:36Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: But we are, believe it or not, a modern day Martin Luther King Jr.
- 40:48Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: We are a modern day Martin Luther King Jr.
- 40:52Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: For what we have exposed to the world, courageous because we're given opportunities and healthy environments.
- 41:13Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: We want people to be safe.
- 41:16Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: We don't want that here in Ohio and all across the United States.
- 41:22Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: We don't want a single person to be trafficked.
- 41:28Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And here in Ohio, we're number seven.
- 41:32Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And this is engulfed, so we're not looking for the lowest score.
- 41:37Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: It means the seventh worst state for human trafficking.
- 41:45Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Let that sink in, Ohioans.
- 42:00Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Quote, you never know where your actions will lead to, but if you don't do anything, they will lead you nowhere, end quote.
- 42:09Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Kind of like take that first step.
- 42:12Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: You don't know what you don't see the whole staircase, like Martin Luther King Jr.'s quote.
- 42:20Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: If you take that first step, then you're probably gonna see the second step.
- 42:28Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: But you're not gonna see the second step without the first step.
- 42:36Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So we don't know how and uh how the our actions are going to impact the world, the human race.
- 42:49Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: We don't know.
- 42:53Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: But if we don't do anything, like Muhammad Gandhi's saying said, it's gonna leave us nowhere.
- 43:06Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Our actions will lead us nowhere if we don't do something, if we don't get started.
- 43:18Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So whatever it may be that you've been putting off for what I don't know, for whatever reason, do it, get started.
- 43:34Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: You never know, I never know, I don't know, I still don't know with voices for voices, but my actions of continuing to put content out at the very least is helping.
- 44:09Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: You know who is helping for sure?
- 44:11Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Right here.
- 44:13Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: It's helping me, and this isn't me pounding on my chest, going, look at me, look at me, look at me.
- 44:22Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Again, I'm not getting any bonus extra anything for talking about this.
- 44:30Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: But you you will have seen and heard me talk about quotes from Martin Luther King Jr.
- 44:38Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: and Mahatma Gandhi and how they relate to voices for voices.
- 44:46Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And you have a real hard time saying that's not the case.
- 44:57Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Real hard time.
- 44:59Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: That's why I didn't believe it at first.
- 45:04Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I was just like, no, yeah, in my mind, but then I started doing a little bit of research.
- 45:16Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I acted.
- 45:19Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I went to that first step, and then I saw that second step, and those were the quotes, and then we have the show, so then that was the third step, and you see how things progress from there.
- 45:39Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So like it, don't like it, hate it, whatever.
- 45:46Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Whatever you like, we don't control anybody.
- 45:52Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: We give ideas, we give thoughts, we give stories, we give experiences, events, talk about challenging, controversial topics, as well as easy and comfort and standing in the crowd topics, as well as the courageous topics because we are standing, and we are courageous, and we are voices for voices.
