- 0:00Speaker 1: Come come, uh huh, I sure will. Good morning everybody,
- 0:10Speaker 1: you all listening to the voice, Come on dig me now,
- 0:13Speaker 1: one and only Steve Harvey got a radio show. I
- 0:16Speaker 1: thank God for it every day. I try to remember
- 0:19Speaker 1: that too, you know. I try to remember to be grateful.
- 0:23Speaker 1: I think gratitude is one of the things that helps
- 0:27Speaker 1: keep me grounded. You can go as far as you
- 0:29Speaker 1: want in life. If you don't mind who gets the credit. Well,
- 0:32Speaker 1: that applies to God too, don't it. I mean, you know, really,
- 0:36Speaker 1: if you don't mind who gets the credit. I'm surrounded
- 0:40Speaker 1: by very competent people. I'm surrounded by a lot of
- 0:44Speaker 1: people who work hard on their jobs, on their career,
- 0:49Speaker 1: who are dedicated employees and also just dedicated to their
- 0:55Speaker 1: families and you know, dedicated to their own set of aspirations.
- 0:59Speaker 1: I don't expect anybody to work for me forever. I
- 1:03Speaker 1: always look at my job opportunities as stepping stones because
- 1:08Speaker 1: I want everyone around me really to aspire to be more.
- 1:12Speaker 1: I mean, that's really the way I am. I'm not
- 1:14Speaker 1: any other way. I'm not trying to hold you to
- 1:17Speaker 1: this position, you know, tell you there's no room for
- 1:20Speaker 1: growth any of that. But even though I'm surrounded by
- 1:25Speaker 1: these people, I'm grateful that God placed them in my path,
- 1:33Speaker 1: in my life, But in my mind, in my spirit,
- 1:40Speaker 1: in everything in me, the credit still belongs to God.
- 1:44Speaker 1: I'm sorry, the credit still belongs to God. See if
- 1:51Speaker 1: you would, just for a moment, stop thinking about yourself,
- 1:57Speaker 1: just for a moment. I know that's hard, but just
- 1:59Speaker 1: for a moment, stop thinking about yourself and realize that
- 2:04Speaker 1: maybe you are who you are because.
- 2:06Speaker 2: God is who he is. Maybe that's the case.
- 2:10Speaker 1: Have you ever considered that that's the strongest possibility I
- 2:14Speaker 1: can give to you? You know, how do you think
- 2:19Speaker 1: you the one that made it through? How you think
- 2:22Speaker 1: you the one after all of the ignorant decisions we
- 2:26Speaker 1: have made? And oh my goodness, let's all be honest.
- 2:30Speaker 1: Ain't we made some crazy decisions I'm talking about man,
- 2:34Speaker 1: I have made decisions so adverse to my destiny and career,
- 2:39Speaker 1: my promises. I've made some decisions man, knowingly you hear me,
- 2:45Speaker 1: knowingly do something wrong, And in spite of all that,
- 2:49Speaker 1: I'm still here standing. Okay, come on now, really, really,
- 2:55Speaker 1: all the dirt you'd bene done, everybody done dirt, all
- 3:00Speaker 1: the mistakes you've made you in the position you in
- 3:03Speaker 1: today because of what? Because you all that? Because you
- 3:08Speaker 1: work harder than anybody else. Look, I work hard, I'll
- 3:13Speaker 1: be I'll tell you in a minute.
- 3:14Speaker 2: I work hard.
- 3:15Speaker 1: But I don't think I'm the hardest working person out there.
- 3:18Speaker 1: I'm pretty sure somebody done work way harder than I have.
- 3:22Speaker 1: So okay, so you work hard? Okay, cool? I got
- 3:25Speaker 1: all that. But man, what about his grace and his mercy?
- 3:32Speaker 1: What about his favor? How many times man you done
- 3:37Speaker 1: relied on that even when you ain't know you was
- 3:39Speaker 1: relying on it? How many times man God done shown
- 3:43Speaker 1: you mercy? You ain't even deserve it? Do you know
- 3:46Speaker 1: how many things I've done wrong? I just ain't get
- 3:48Speaker 1: caught at it?
- 3:51Speaker 2: You know. Let me see how simple I can be.
- 3:54Speaker 2: You speed, you Jaywall.
- 3:58Speaker 1: You lie to police at least when you get pulled
- 4:01Speaker 1: over that you wasn't speeding. You go to court and
- 4:04Speaker 1: argue you wasn't speeding when you was. You make U turns.
- 4:09Speaker 1: I'm just doing traffic violations. Now, let's get off traffic
- 4:14Speaker 1: for a second. Let's get on human violations. You talk
- 4:18Speaker 1: about people when you're not supposed to. You indulge yourself
- 4:24Speaker 1: in gossip, even when you don't really have all the facts.
- 4:27Speaker 1: You pass judgment, You lust for people that don't belong
- 4:33Speaker 1: to you. You say things to people that you're not
- 4:38Speaker 1: supposed to say. So look, all of us, we all
- 4:45Speaker 1: were all guilty. Now see, I'm not saying you do
- 4:48Speaker 1: all of that, but I'm saying I'm pretty sure I
- 4:51Speaker 1: hit you somewhere in there, just somewhere in there. You
- 4:54Speaker 1: donet lied before you know you lied recently. I mean,
- 4:58Speaker 1: come on, And I'm just saying so with all that
- 5:01Speaker 1: in mind. See, I'm just looking at the little things
- 5:03Speaker 1: that we do that we don't get busted for. Not
- 5:05Speaker 1: to mention the chips you stole when you was a
- 5:07Speaker 1: kid and nobody caught you. Well, that elevated, didn't it.
- 5:11Speaker 1: And some of y'all just didn't stop stealing, And next
- 5:14Speaker 1: thing you know, you was in a car. Now you're
- 5:15Speaker 1: sitting somewhere you don't want to be sitting because of
- 5:18Speaker 1: a decision you made.
- 5:20Speaker 2: But through his grace and mercy, couldn't it have been worse? Though?
- 5:23Speaker 1: Without his grace and mercy, could not it have been worse?
- 5:27Speaker 1: I know two dudes that got caught in the garage
- 5:29Speaker 1: one time trying to break in somebody's house, and the
- 5:32Speaker 1: person in the house they broke into just happened to
- 5:34Speaker 1: have a gun and held them in the garage, caught
- 5:38Speaker 1: them and held them to the garage to the police car.
- 5:41Speaker 1: That's Grace and Mercy right there, because they had all
- 5:44Speaker 1: full right to shoot these two people, but they didn't.
- 5:48Speaker 1: They're Grace and Mercy. See, all of us have benefited
- 5:51Speaker 1: from his grace and mercy. All of us have done
- 5:54Speaker 1: a wrong, committed a sin, broken the law, and somehow,
- 5:57Speaker 1: through his grace and mercy, got by, doing drugs, buying drugs,
- 6:02Speaker 1: slanging drugs, doing something, got by, jumped on somebody for
- 6:05Speaker 1: no reason, got by, you know. So see how you
- 6:11Speaker 1: figure with all that that can go on in your life.
- 6:14Speaker 1: And then hold on, let me throw a couple more
- 6:16Speaker 1: at you. You can't wake yourself up in the morning,
- 6:19Speaker 1: mister big shot. You don't have the ability to control
- 6:25Speaker 1: the breaths that you take. Really, mister big shot, really,
- 6:30Speaker 1: let's get real basic.
- 6:31Speaker 2: With it now. You can't wake yourself up in the morning.
- 6:35Speaker 1: That's favor, that's Grace, that's Mercy, that's him allowing you
- 6:43Speaker 1: to wake up just hoping we get it right. You know,
- 6:48Speaker 1: God spared me through all the dirt I was doing,
- 6:51Speaker 1: just hoping one day, Man, can you just straighten up
- 6:53Speaker 1: a little bit? When I finally straightened up, and I'm
- 6:57Speaker 1: gonna just say it straightened up a little bit. See,
- 6:59Speaker 1: I ain't up all the way. Say I ain't gonna
- 7:02Speaker 1: sit here and tell you that I just straightened up
- 7:04Speaker 1: a little bit. He started blessing me. So the more
- 7:07Speaker 1: blessings I got start going, Man, maybe I'll try straighten
- 7:09Speaker 1: up a little bit more. So I straightened up a
- 7:10Speaker 1: little bit more. I still got a long way to go,
- 7:13Speaker 1: but I'm straighter than I was now. When people judging
- 7:16Speaker 1: me and as they will, and they do because that
- 7:18Speaker 1: ain't right, but they do, and I ain't walking just
- 7:21Speaker 1: the way they walk.
- 7:22Speaker 2: Then here come to criticism. I get it all the time.
- 7:25Speaker 1: Stop wanting credit all the time, and give out some
- 7:28Speaker 1: credit where credit is due instead of having somebody patting.
- 7:32Speaker 2: You on your back all the time.
- 7:33Speaker 1: Why don't you tell God, tell people it was really
- 7:35Speaker 1: was God, man, that you don't really know how you
- 7:38Speaker 1: made it? That really man, you have no explanation for
- 7:41Speaker 1: your success, or you have no explanation why you still
- 7:43Speaker 1: exist in today. Why don't you tell somebody it was
- 7:46Speaker 1: God today. Don't be ashamed. It's the truth, ain't it.
- 7:50Speaker 1: I mean, really, man, let's give God some credit here.
- 7:53Speaker 1: Give God the credit and the glory and the honor.
- 7:56Speaker 1: And like that plaque said, you can go as far
- 7:58Speaker 1: as you want in life if you don't.
- 8:00Speaker 2: Mind who gives the credit. All right, you're listening to
- 8:03Speaker 2: the Steve Harvey Morning Show
