  Speaker 1: the production's been steady and you're starting to get to

  Speaker 1: a spot here post Memorial Day where things are getting

  Speaker 1: pretty sticky. So those stats I think have showed what

  Speaker 1: we've got in some players of like reaching new plateaus,

  Speaker 1: putting up new levels. So wanted to get through some bats,

  Speaker 1: especially with our top one hunter guy here, Jeremy Brewer.

  Speaker 1: So let's get into that baseball news and notes that

  Speaker 1: I was talking about right off the bat. I just

  Speaker 1: want to get your thoughts on seeing Ronald Lukunya come back.

  Speaker 1: So he returned to the diamond and smashed the first
• 3:21
  Speaker 1: pitch that he saw out of the park four hundred
• 3:24
  Speaker 1: and sixty seven feet, an absolute tater. He's really injected
• 3:29
  Speaker 1: some more life into that Atlanta Braves offense. So what
• 3:34
  Speaker 1: do you think, Caun you can do now? For the
• 3:36
  Speaker 1: rest of the season now that he is back. For
• 3:38
  Speaker 1: those of us who have waited upon him on our teams.

  Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean he's gonna have a big impact, There's
• 3:43
  Speaker 2: no question about it. I think the biggest question I
• 3:46
  Speaker 2: have at this point is not the power. It's not
• 3:48
  Speaker 2: you know, the eye, and I really think that you know,
• 3:51
  Speaker 2: he's gonna be fine from that perspective. It's really the running.

  Speaker 2: That's really what I'm curious about is how much running
• 3:57
  Speaker 2: he's gonna do now that he's back. You know, you've
• 4:00
  Speaker 2: got multiple serious knee injuries, and doesn't take a genius
• 4:05
  Speaker 2: to figure out that that's gonna potentially slow you down
• 4:09
  Speaker 2: over time. So I'm really interested to see how well
• 4:12
  Speaker 2: rounded the game is or is he going to move
• 4:15
  Speaker 2: more that kind of mic trout path where the speed
• 4:17
  Speaker 2: starts to disappear because you're worried about keeping them healthy

  Speaker 2: and because of that, you're not gonna let the guy
• 4:25
  Speaker 2: run even if he wants to. Even last year, just
• 4:28
  Speaker 2: you know, forty nine games, he stole sixteen bases, and

  Speaker 2: clearly everybody remembers twenty twenty three where he stole seventy plus.

  Speaker 2: So that's the big question for me. Otherwise, I'm not

  Speaker 2: too too concerned. I think you can chock him up
• 4:39
  Speaker 2: for kind of a two sixty average going forward. You know,
• 4:43
  Speaker 2: let's let's call it fifteen to twenty homers. I think
• 4:46
  Speaker 2: the steals is where I could be between ten and thirty.

  Speaker 2: I just don't know how well Atlanta's going to let
• 4:52
  Speaker 2: him run.

  Speaker 1: The rest of the season, yeah, or how much he
• 4:55
  Speaker 1: wants to run that, Like, all the projections are. This

  Speaker 1: is why it's confounding. All the projections are between like

  Speaker 1: twenty five to thirty two steals rest of the season,

  Speaker 1: which is just seems outlandish considering the double ACL surgery

  Speaker 1: and the thing that I also find surprising. They all
• 5:15
  Speaker 1: have him slated for like a three hundred batting average
• 5:18
  Speaker 1: right in that range. So do you think that is
• 5:21
  Speaker 1: too too high?
• 5:22
  Speaker 2: I think that's that's too high, I really do. I
• 5:25
  Speaker 2: know he's he's pulled it off before. But you know,
• 5:28
  Speaker 2: in his career, he's only batted at above two ninety
• 5:32
  Speaker 2: three once and it was three thirty seven, and that,
• 5:37
  Speaker 2: you know, ridiculous twenty twenty three MVP season. Yet every
• 5:43
  Speaker 2: projection for the most part, has in batting upper two
• 5:48
  Speaker 2: nineties or even three hundred. It just it just doesn't
• 5:51
  Speaker 2: right ring true to me. And he's gonna have a
• 5:54
  Speaker 2: rust element. He's gonna be trying to figure things out.
• 5:58
  Speaker 2: And again he's gonna probably lose some hits to the
• 6:01
  Speaker 2: speed because I again I don't know how quickly he's
• 6:05
  Speaker 2: gonna be fully back and running or how aggressive he's
• 6:08
  Speaker 2: gonna be running because he has to stay healthy. Now
• 6:11
  Speaker 2: that's what they what they need from him. So yeah,
• 6:14
  Speaker 2: to me, that's a little generous. Like I said, I'm
• 6:17
  Speaker 2: in the two sixty, maybe you can push me into
• 6:18
  Speaker 2: a two seventy range for Acunya, And if he runs,
• 6:23
  Speaker 2: I'm thrilled. If he's not, I've kind of got it.

  Speaker 2: I can't remember exactly where I have my rankings. He's
• 6:27
  Speaker 2: probably in the top thirty ish right now, thirty to
• 6:31
  Speaker 2: forty somewhere in there. Just kind of waiting to see

  Speaker 2: what he's eventually gonna do from that speed perspective. But yeah,

  Speaker 2: I'm not mining a too ninety to three hundred average,

  Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean I think I can maybe get behind

  Speaker 1: like two eighty ish or so, like the power will

  Speaker 1: be there for Acunya that like you know that he's

  Speaker 1: gonna hit, just because I think along with it is

  Speaker 1: you know, he's been rare and ready to go. It

  Speaker 2: He looked like a saw. Yeah, he definitely was ready.

  Speaker 1: Yeah, And so I mean I think we're actually I

  Speaker 1: view him a little bit as like a kateel Marte,

  Speaker 1: where Like, if you look at what katel Marte has
• 7:12
  Speaker 1: done the last couple of years of like a two

  Speaker 1: to eighty five ish batting average with like mid thirties

  Speaker 1: homers and six st eight steals per a season, I

  Speaker 1: think that's what you can probably pace Acunya for. So

  Speaker 1: I would say just be cautious of that. As you know,
• 7:27
  Speaker 1: if we did put out the new Rest of the
• 7:29
  Speaker 1: Season player Raider this past week, which has the updated projections,
• 7:33
  Speaker 1: and Acunya clocks in right at the top of that
• 7:37
  Speaker 1: thing at number five, because it is picking up that
• 7:40
  Speaker 1: large stolen based projection from Steamer. And so just be
• 7:45
  Speaker 1: careful while you're kind of using the values that are
• 7:48
  Speaker 1: out there, because I don't think that the projections have
• 7:50
  Speaker 1: caught up to where Acunya's knee injury is, and they're
• 7:54
  Speaker 1: all just kind of saying we're just going to average
• 7:57
  Speaker 1: the past three seasons they're kind of marselling it.

  Speaker 2: Yeah, exactly. So excited to see him though. I think
• 8:02
  Speaker 2: he should be a jolt for that team. I think
• 8:04
  Speaker 2: the Braves absolutely need it. Having him and Strider back
• 8:07
  Speaker 2: is just absolutely what the doctor ordered there in Atlanta.

  Speaker 1: Yes, exactly. Okay, let's move on to some standard kind

  Speaker 1: of news and notes on injuries, call ups, cuts, other
• 8:18
  Speaker 1: sorts of roster moves. We're going to Boston here for
• 8:22
  Speaker 1: the first one. It's a major one. Actually, I saw
• 8:24
  Speaker 1: this one live. I was with our buddy John and
• 8:28
  Speaker 1: watching this game at his house because I'm doing some
• 8:30
  Speaker 1: renovations in my house, so I do like a co
• 8:33
  Speaker 1: working situation with our buddy John once a while. And
• 8:37
  Speaker 1: we were watching this game because this Friday afternoon before
• 8:39
  Speaker 1: the Memorial Day weekend, and Alex Bregman was rounding first
• 8:44
  Speaker 1: base after just lasering a single right off of the Monster,
• 8:48
  Speaker 1: was trying to make that turn to second. You could
• 8:51
  Speaker 1: see immediately that something popped in his left quad and
• 8:55
  Speaker 1: actually so right quad. My bad. I guess my memory
• 8:58
  Speaker 1: wasn't that great about the afternoon, but you could tell
• 9:01
  Speaker 1: it was immediately a quad entry because he just walked
• 9:03
  Speaker 1: right off the field and it didn't look great because
• 9:07
  Speaker 1: usually guys when they like have a cramp or a
• 9:11
  Speaker 1: minor kind of pole, they will try to like muscle
• 9:15
  Speaker 1: their way through it. But the way that Bregman walked
• 9:17
  Speaker 1: off I could tell wasn't great, And so the news
• 9:20
  Speaker 1: has been discouraging. It sounds like he might be out
• 9:23
  Speaker 1: to like July, and Bregman has been an absolute monster
• 9:28
  Speaker 1: this year two ninety nine three eighty five five point
• 9:30
  Speaker 1: fifty three slash line with eleven homers. He put up
• 9:33
  Speaker 1: two and a half war in just fifty one games
• 9:36
  Speaker 1: here with the Red Sox. As he's really playing to
• 9:38
  Speaker 1: opt out of that contract. Things are getting tough in
• 9:42
  Speaker 1: Boston because of the lack of Bregman here. But what
• 9:45
  Speaker 1: are you doing in situations where you had Bregman? Because honestly,
• 9:48
  Speaker 1: if you probably owned him on your team, you were
• 9:52
  Speaker 1: doing really well considering where you drafted him.
• 9:55
  Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean he was playing fantastic. I think he
• 9:58
  Speaker 2: was playing better than people were lies. And he started
• 10:01
  Speaker 2: this end of last season he was doing really well.

  Speaker 2: Like August Onward, I think he hit twelve bombs like
• 10:06
  Speaker 2: he was hitting maybe I think two eighty two ninety
• 10:08
  Speaker 2: in those few months, like he's just been on fire
• 10:11
  Speaker 2: for the last roughly year of games. I didn't do
• 10:15
  Speaker 2: the mask to a full season what it looks like,
• 10:17
  Speaker 2: but I wouldn't be surprised if he's up there probably
• 10:19
  Speaker 2: thirty homers, you know, two ninety average hundred RBIs like
• 10:23
  Speaker 2: he's he's doing exactly what you know Boston paid him for.

  Speaker 2: But yeah, this is this is a tough injury. Luckily,
• 10:30
  Speaker 2: not being a speed guy, I don't think it's something
• 10:33
  Speaker 2: we have to worry about really impacting his production when
• 10:35
  Speaker 2: he gets back and even you know power, I don't
• 10:40
  Speaker 2: think it's gonna be a big issue. I think it's
• 10:41
  Speaker 2: just a rest time, so I'm less concerned about the
• 10:45
  Speaker 2: long term. But I do think it's gonna be a
• 10:47
  Speaker 2: few months like it. I think it's a pretty The
• 10:50
  Speaker 2: news says it's a significant injury, and I think he's
• 10:52
  Speaker 2: gonna be out for some time. So I think, you know,
• 10:56
  Speaker 2: fantasy owners is the it's the you know, put him
• 10:58
  Speaker 2: on the injury list and wait, there's there's not much
• 11:01
  Speaker 2: else you can do. Look for a plug in. Somebody
• 11:04
  Speaker 2: else is gonna be able to, you know, come in
• 11:06
  Speaker 2: and play the position, and you know, maybe pick I
• 11:10
  Speaker 2: don't say when we're our buddies like jig Berger who

  Speaker 2: pick up something like that, who's trying to make a
• 11:15
  Speaker 2: little noise after getting called back up from his little demotion.

  Speaker 2: But you're gonna have to You're gonna have to play

  Speaker 2: the waiver.

  Speaker 1: Wire for sure. Yeah, absolutely. Or Addison Barger if you're
• 11:25
  Speaker 1: in a deeper league, I think is a great choice. Yep. So, uh,

  Speaker 1: there's still a few options for third basement out there.

  Speaker 1: Certainly go find them or maybe pick up the new guy,

  Speaker 1: because in his stead in Boston, Marcella Meyer is the

  Speaker 1: one that has come up and has played third base
• 11:39
  Speaker 1: for the entire time that he's been up. It looks
• 11:42
  Speaker 1: like his job now from now until when Bregman gets back,
• 11:47
  Speaker 1: especially because the defense will play for Mayor. He was,
• 11:51
  Speaker 1: I would say, having a middling season down at Triple
• 11:55
  Speaker 1: A Wooster as a twenty two year old before the
• 11:57
  Speaker 1: call up to seventy one three forty seven seventy one
• 12:00
  Speaker 1: slash nine so only a one fourteen w RC plus.

  Speaker 1: But the strikeout rate had steadied, you know, at nineteen
• 12:08
  Speaker 1: point seven percent, double digit walk rate. Still nine homers
• 12:12
  Speaker 1: in forty three games for Mayor down there, at Triple A.

  Speaker 1: What do you think Mayor can do in the majors
• 12:17
  Speaker 1: with Boston with this chance.

  Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm really torn on this one because I feel
• 12:21
  Speaker 2: like it's a little early for him to be called up.

  Speaker 2: The needs there, that's why. And he's a great defender,
• 12:26
  Speaker 2: I think, and he has a great long term profile,
• 12:29
  Speaker 2: but he was still still kind of trying to figure
• 12:32
  Speaker 2: out the power, I think fully, and I would have
• 12:36
  Speaker 2: liked to see him get a little bit more than
• 12:38
  Speaker 2: you know, the forty three games that he's got at
• 12:40
  Speaker 2: Triple A. But I also look at this with Boston
• 12:44
  Speaker 2: and what we thought was Christian Campbell of like, yeah,
• 12:46
  Speaker 2: he's not ready, and then he's looked pretty pretty ready.

  Speaker 2: I think Meyer does have a similar upside, you know,
• 12:54
  Speaker 2: between him and Roman Anthony and Christian Campbell, like there's
• 12:58
  Speaker 2: a ton of talent. So I'm not betting against him.

  Speaker 2: I'm generally, especially in like twelve teamers fourteen teamers, I'm
• 13:04
  Speaker 2: picking him up. If he's still out there most of
• 13:07
  Speaker 2: the time, he's not just as kind of a dart throw.

  Speaker 2: And because he does have the talent level where he
• 13:14
  Speaker 2: could play up when he gets to the majors, there's
• 13:15
  Speaker 2: certain kind of guys that have really good pedigree. When
• 13:18
  Speaker 2: they gets the majors actually played better because they're no
• 13:20
  Speaker 2: longer tinkering and trying to figure things out. They're out
• 13:24
  Speaker 2: there to play. So I'm interested in a Meyer. I'm
• 13:27
  Speaker 2: not breaking the bank by any means, but I do
• 13:30
  Speaker 2: think he's the kind of guy that could give a
• 13:33
  Speaker 2: little joltsey offense. But I don't see it being you know,
• 13:38
  Speaker 2: gangbusters the rest of this season for him. He doesn't
• 13:40
  Speaker 2: have a ton of speed. He's not going to run
• 13:42
  Speaker 2: a ton. He's run some of them in the miners.
• 13:44
  Speaker 2: But I'm thinking this is a five to ten sealed guy.
• 13:46
  Speaker 2: At max. You're probably looking across a full season twenty
• 13:51
  Speaker 2: homers to seventy average. That's kind of what I look
• 13:55
  Speaker 2: for across the full season. So you know, take that
• 13:59
  Speaker 2: at eighty percent for half a season and that's kind
• 14:01
  Speaker 2: of what you're getting the rest of the way.

  Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, I think that's all fair. I think it's
• 14:04
  Speaker 1: somebody Mayor who I would be a little more interested in,
• 14:08
  Speaker 1: maybe in a couple of years, because that glove will
• 14:11
  Speaker 1: allow him to stick in the majors, and I think
• 14:13
  Speaker 1: he's the type of player where once he gets to
• 14:16
  Speaker 1: being like twenty five, twenty six and has a couple
• 14:18
  Speaker 1: of years a major league experience and seeing the pitching
• 14:22
  Speaker 1: under his belt, he'll turn into a better hitter just
• 14:24
  Speaker 1: because he has the back to ball skills. But the
• 14:28
  Speaker 1: I don't know how the power is going to fully
• 14:30
  Speaker 1: play in the majors. But yeah, I think he's a
• 14:33
  Speaker 1: great ad, maybe especially in deep leagues where you are
• 14:36
  Speaker 1: without Bragmann and you got to pick up somebody Mayor
• 14:39
  Speaker 1: could certainly be much worse. So okay, let's move on

  Speaker 1: to our next injury. We've got Chicago Cubs catcher Miguel Amaya.

  Speaker 1: Strange is oblique out four to six weeks. And this
• 14:52
  Speaker 1: is more significant than it seems, mostly because Maya was
• 14:57
  Speaker 1: slowly starting to carve back his playing time from Carson
• 15:00
  Speaker 1: Kelly because, uh, surprise, surprise, Carson Kelly was starting to
• 15:04
  Speaker 1: fall back to earth over his past fourteen games, hitting
• 15:08
  Speaker 1: just two thirteen with an eighty six WRC plus. It
• 15:11
  Speaker 1: has battled an illness in there. But across that fourteen
• 15:14
  Speaker 1: game stretch, I mean the Cubs have also played the Marlins,
• 15:18
  Speaker 1: the White Sox, the Marlins again, the Reds, and the Rockies,
• 15:23
  Speaker 1: so that shows you how much Carson Kelly has cooled off.

  Speaker 1: So be careful out there if you still have Kelly
• 15:29
  Speaker 1: and you see him, or if you see him sitting
• 15:31
  Speaker 1: on your wire and say, oh man, this guy's hitting
• 15:33
  Speaker 1: two ninety eight with nine homers and that all came

  Speaker 1: in April. Amaya had boosted his line to two eighty

  Speaker 1: three thirteen five h five slash line. That's a one

  Speaker 1: twenty seven WRIC plus. I've always loved the bat for Mgalamayah.

  Speaker 1: The corresponding move here for the Cubs, because Amaya's out

  Speaker 1: four to six weeks, they called up Reyes McGuire from

  Speaker 1: the minor leagues. My question that I was all leading

  Speaker 1: towards here is how a little faith does this give

  Speaker 1: you in Moysis Biasteros now going forward, considering this is

  Speaker 1: exactly the situation where Biasteros should be re entering the

  Speaker 1: picture for the Cubs, this is starting to smell a

  Speaker 1: little bit to me like the Kobe Mao situation in Baltimore,

  Speaker 1: where I think the Cubs know something about Biasteros that

  Speaker 1: we can't quite see or just don't have the faith

  Speaker 1: in him, and so I'm kind of losing faith at
• 16:27

  Speaker 2: Yeah, it makes you question their outlook long term for

  Speaker 2: bia Steros as far as position viability. I think that's

  Speaker 2: that's the big thing here, because you're abolutly right, like

  Speaker 2: they've already called him up once, want to give him
• 16:40
  Speaker 2: that cup of coffee. They were really clear with him.

  Speaker 2: But you know, he's not really that good of a catcher.

  Speaker 2: Let's be let's be honest. He's he's he's made five

  Speaker 2: ers in twenty five games on triple at catcher already.

  Speaker 2: And if you don't know, he's he's allowed a few

  Speaker 2: stolen bases. I'm just gonna let you guess, across twenty

  Speaker 2: five games started, how many stolen bases do you think

  Speaker 1: Okay, I'm just trying to also gage it because I

  Speaker 1: was just looking up shaling Lears has just been about
