- 5:12Speaker 1: Uh, you only have any Has anyone told you that
- 5:17Speaker 1: you Rex, you almost look like big Ed Collins. Has
- 5:23Speaker 1: anyone ever.
- 5:24Speaker 2: Said that to you? I think he would take that
- 5:26Speaker 2: as a compliment.
- 5:27Speaker 1: I think, so you have. I want to say, Ed
- 5:32Speaker 1: you have. You know what you have that Rex doesn't have.
- 5:35Speaker 1: You have a nice head of hair.
- 5:39Speaker 2: We were just talking about my hair last night.
- 5:41Speaker 1: Who you and Rex?
- 5:42Speaker 2: Me and Gilbert?
- 5:43Speaker 1: All right, what was said about your hair.
- 5:45Speaker 2: Last so Gilbert? Gilbert's my girlfriend so fucking packing up ladies?
- 5:52Speaker 1: So god.
- 5:54Speaker 2: Gilbert was saying how she didn't know if she could
- 6:00Speaker 2: be with me if I was balding. Yeah, then my
- 6:02Speaker 2: dad has a good head of hair, So I am
- 6:05Speaker 2: confident that I will keep my lushes left.
- 6:07Speaker 1: That's that's really really, it's really good. Can you imagine?
- 6:11Speaker 1: And Rex, It's like when when he starts growing it
- 6:15Speaker 1: back and there's a little bit of stubble up.
- 6:16Speaker 2: There, rexwood hair would look weird to me.
- 6:20Speaker 1: Yeah, Rex, Yes.
- 6:21Speaker 2: He is a bald head. This is his look.
- 6:24Speaker 1: He should have been. He should have stayed bald after
- 6:26Speaker 1: he was born. Are there any pictures of him with hair?
- 6:30Speaker 1: Do you know rhetor.
- 6:32Speaker 2: He looks like a very vibrant Hunter, Like, yeah, he
- 6:36Speaker 2: was a little bigger than Hunter, but it's it's so small.
- 6:40Speaker 1: Hunter's got a head of hair on him.
- 6:41Speaker 2: Hunter's a good looking kid.
- 6:42Speaker 1: Yeah, yes, unlike his his dad. Today is the the
- 6:48Speaker 1: end of Volunteer Appreciation Week and our presenting sponsor, Central
- 6:55Speaker 1: from Home Health and Hospice posted how much they love
- 6:59Speaker 1: and appreciate theirvolunteers sixty one to be exact, who volunteer
- 7:03Speaker 1: their time and give companionship and company to area seniors
- 7:09Speaker 1: who are lonely. They provide respite for family members. They're
- 7:14Speaker 1: always there with an extra set of hands to help
- 7:16Speaker 1: out with events, to make sure they run smoothly, or
- 7:19Speaker 1: whatever they are doing. At Central Vermunt Home Health and
- 7:23Speaker 1: Hospice even provide clerical support to the staff. So big
- 7:28Speaker 1: kudos to all of the volunteers that help out Central
- 7:31Speaker 1: Vermont Home Health and Hospice and volunteers everywhere, anywhere, no
- 7:35Speaker 1: matter where you are. April is National Distracted Driving Awareness Month.
- 7:42Speaker 1: At new report, eighty six percent of drivers admit to
- 7:48Speaker 1: being distracted by technology, usually their phones. I saw a
- 7:53Speaker 1: guy driving down the road one day who was eating
- 7:58Speaker 1: a bowl of soup. Uh on the interstate going eighty.
- 8:02Speaker 2: My favorites to the people on motorcycles texting.
- 8:05Speaker 1: I've never I've never seen that. Holy fuck you you've
- 8:10Speaker 1: seen that? Really do to the nuts?
- 8:13Speaker 2: That takes Wow, I'm a fucking idiot, sot like any
- 8:20Speaker 2: multitasking to my brain is too much. Yeah, a one task, type.
- 8:25Speaker 1: Of one at a time. I understand, I understand.
- 8:28Speaker 2: Motorcycle Driving a motorcycle is one of those tasks that
- 8:31Speaker 2: takes all of it.
- 8:33Speaker 1: I can't believe it. And listen, if you see someone
- 8:37Speaker 1: on a uh on a motorcycle, that's that's picking away
- 8:40Speaker 1: at a full charcuter repard. Uh. Let me know about that.
- 8:44Speaker 1: I have you ever see you? Yeah? Damn my god.
- 8:48Speaker 2: Pay back to volunteers, please, the most selfless thing you
- 8:51Speaker 2: could do as a human. The only currency that you
- 8:54Speaker 2: possess is your time and what you choose to put
- 8:57Speaker 2: towards it. Great so so the fact that anyone's willing
- 9:01Speaker 2: to do anything for anyone else should be recognized. I'm promoted.
- 9:08Speaker 2: We it has to be greater than the me, or
- 9:11Speaker 2: your life will suck continuously.
- 9:14Speaker 1: How old are you I am?
- 9:15Speaker 2: I just turned thirty three. On four twenty.
- 9:19Speaker 1: Is your birthday for twenty.
- 9:22Speaker 2: I was born for this life.
- 9:23Speaker 1: Man, Lord help us all please.
- 9:27Speaker 2: And we found out your mushrooms and we had fun
- 9:32Speaker 2: some mushrooms in Disney Plus, change your life. Talk about
- 9:35Speaker 2: your feelings with your loved one.
- 9:36Speaker 1: Come on, come on right? And when you were a
- 9:41Speaker 1: little kid, did you fall and hit your head?
- 9:45Speaker 2: So I'm the youngest of six. We had fifty two
- 9:50Speaker 2: foster kids by the time I was eight. I was
- 9:52Speaker 2: always the youngest. So any plot that was schemed, I
- 9:59Speaker 2: was the in the dryer. Hey, we're gonna make apple
- 10:04Speaker 2: flingers out of apple branches and we're gonna throw apples
- 10:07Speaker 2: at you at mock one while you're riding your bike.
- 10:09Speaker 1: That was you were the victim. Yes, okay, what was
- 10:13Speaker 1: I gonna do?
- 10:13Speaker 2: Say no?
- 10:14Speaker 1: So you've taken a couple of hits.
- 10:16Speaker 2: My life has been one big hit. Can I can?
- 10:18Speaker 1: I can I tell you something. I'm gonna. I'm gonna,
- 10:21Speaker 1: We're gonna, We're gonna, as I said, this morning, We're
- 10:25Speaker 1: gonna drive down the road this morning an hour blindfolded.
- 10:28Speaker 1: I'm gonna tell you things that you don't know about me.
- 10:30Speaker 1: You're gonna perfect you're gonna tell us. I was you're
- 10:33Speaker 1: gonna tell you're.
- 10:34Speaker 2: Gonna I was just talking about how I the only
- 10:38Speaker 2: thing I want to talk about with people is the
- 10:41Speaker 2: trauma they've endured and how it's changed their reactions, all right,
- 10:45Speaker 2: and no one wants to talk about the ship that
- 10:48Speaker 2: really hurt them.
- 10:49Speaker 1: Yes, listen, I'm gonna say this right now. First of all,
- 10:54Speaker 1: Number one, your batshit crazy. I know. Number two, I'd
- 10:59Speaker 1: love to have you back on the podcast. Number three,
- 11:03Speaker 1: I would love to have an I'd love to have
- 11:06Speaker 1: you here with Rex too. We have a lot to
- 11:08Speaker 1: talk about with with regard to Rex. But here's here,
- 11:11Speaker 1: here's part of the reason why I think you're respectfully
- 11:16Speaker 1: batshit crazy. I've I have never hit anyone. I've never
- 11:20Speaker 1: punched anyone, and I've told you so many times I'm
- 11:23Speaker 1: a lover, not a fighter. You I showed up at
- 11:26Speaker 1: a job site that you were there one time with
- 11:28Speaker 1: Barslow construction, and you were becking me, begging, pleading with
- 11:33Speaker 1: me to hit you, to punch you in the face.
- 11:37Speaker 1: And I was like, I like you, why would I
- 11:42Speaker 1: want to hit you? And You're like, you've never punched anyone.
- 11:44Speaker 3: JD.
- 11:45Speaker 1: You need to feel what it's like. I said I'm
- 11:48Speaker 1: gonna hurt you, and you said you're not. You're not,
- 11:54Speaker 1: And I'm like, how is that not going to hurt?
- 11:57Speaker 2: So boys need to rough out the problem with a
- 12:01Speaker 2: lot of society right now is men don't want a
- 12:05Speaker 2: rough house. We are supposed to be fucking physical creatures,
- 12:09Speaker 2: and when you're not, I think deep down in your
- 12:11Speaker 2: DNA that drives you nuts.
- 12:14Speaker 1: But I would have to be pissed at you to
- 12:18Speaker 1: punch you.
- 12:18Speaker 2: No way I would.
- 12:20Speaker 1: No, I can't punch someone.
- 12:23Speaker 2: I've punched seventy percent of the people I've loved in
- 12:29Speaker 2: this world. I hope you don't ever have all the
- 12:32Speaker 2: friends that I've made in my you there's punched on mom.
- 12:39Speaker 1: I'm not going to get up. I'll be down, I'll
- 12:43Speaker 1: have worm scrum.
- 12:46Speaker 2: It would just be play it.
- 12:49Speaker 1: It's not. I'm good. I'm on. I Am not going
- 12:52Speaker 1: to play and punch you. I think I'm gonna have
- 12:55Speaker 1: to be upset.
- 12:55Speaker 2: I think violence is a skill, and as a human
- 12:59Speaker 2: you should have the knowledge to be violent if need be.
- 13:03Speaker 2: All right.
- 13:04Speaker 1: This is Ed Collins, who is my guest, good close
- 13:10Speaker 1: friend with Rex. We have talked shit about you on
- 13:13Speaker 1: the air countless times about you. You've never you've never
- 13:19Speaker 1: been on the air before. Here you are sitting in
- 13:22Speaker 1: front of me. Rex is not with us today. Rex
- 13:25Speaker 1: is going to be back with us next Friday, and
- 13:27Speaker 1: hopefully you'll be with us too. But you have trained
- 13:31Speaker 1: under Rex. You've been friends with Rex.
- 13:33Speaker 2: Yeah, not under with Rex. Was in the trenches with me.
- 13:36Speaker 2: I met Rex with when he walked into a through
- 13:40Speaker 2: the doors. I was like, okay, who is this guy?
- 13:42Speaker 1: Yeah? So where were you born and raised? So right here?
- 13:48Speaker 2: Now? I am originally from Sheffield, I was, Yeah, I
- 13:53Speaker 2: grew up in Sheffield Heights, Okay, which is a nowhere land,
- 13:58Speaker 2: the youngest of six.
- 13:59Speaker 1: But you've been in where'd you go to high school?
- 14:01Speaker 2: Lake Region? So we moved to the Newport. It's just
- 14:04Speaker 2: south of Newport, all right, but you've Newport region. You've
- 14:08Speaker 2: been here in uh in Barry Form almost a decade,
- 14:12Speaker 2: almost a decade. So everyone knows you, ed you're you're
- 14:20Speaker 2: a well known, interesting guy, well known guy. I didn't
- 14:23Speaker 2: say everyone likes you, I said everyone knows you. So
- 14:27Speaker 2: I don't live I could care less. Who knows me,
- 14:31Speaker 2: what they know about me, what they say about me.
- 14:34Speaker 2: The only thing I'm striving for right now in my
- 14:37Speaker 2: life is how I the work I need to do
- 14:40Speaker 2: to get over my bullshit to be a better person. Yeah,
- 14:43Speaker 2: that is my mission in life right now, because I've
- 14:45Speaker 2: spent a lot of time angry at the world.
- 14:47Speaker 1: Do we all have bullshit?
- 14:48Speaker 2: Everyone has bullshit? And whether you're honest enough with yourself
- 14:51Speaker 2: to talk about it and have that honest conversation with
- 14:54Speaker 2: you that that will be the single greatest thing that
- 14:57Speaker 2: holds you back in your life if you're not able
- 14:59Speaker 2: to have the conversation with yourself about the ship that
- 15:02Speaker 2: you do to everyone around you, because we all do it,
- 15:06Speaker 2: whether we know it or not. We are all putting
- 15:09Speaker 2: something out there, and you need to be conscious of
- 15:11Speaker 2: what you're putting out there. And for a long time
- 15:13Speaker 2: I was not sure, and I'm still ignorant to a
- 15:16Speaker 2: lot of my stuff. But I want to say that
- 15:18Speaker 2: I am working on it.
- 15:20Speaker 1: Rex has fair to say. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
- 15:25Speaker 1: He has been a mentor for me in many ways.
- 15:28Speaker 1: Has he been a mentor to you?
- 15:30Speaker 2: Rex met me when I was at my angriest, Like,
- 15:34Speaker 2: if I didn't find that dude, I would be imploded.
- 15:38Speaker 1: Would you be in jail. I absolutely jail or prison.
- 15:44Speaker 2: It would have been an outburst, and I don't think
- 15:49Speaker 2: a court system would take kindly to one of my outbursts.
- 15:52Speaker 1: You've had you've had a rough life.
- 15:54Speaker 2: I wouldn't call it rough. I've had a fun life.
- 15:56Speaker 1: You've had a fun life, Okay, a big family, You've
- 16:00Speaker 1: You've had things that have have have happened to you
- 16:04Speaker 1: and for you, for.
- 16:06Speaker 2: You, nothing happens to you. It's for your benefit.
- 16:10Speaker 1: My god, if I learned that in the last year.
- 16:12Speaker 2: It is all for you.
- 16:15Speaker 1: But but without this outlet of mixed martial arts and
- 16:22Speaker 1: being connected with people that are like minded.
- 16:27Speaker 2: You have to find your tribe. Yeah, that is square one.
- 16:31Speaker 2: You have to be honest with yourself because if you're
- 16:34Speaker 2: not honest with yourself and you lie about who you are,
- 16:37Speaker 2: you're going to surround yourself with people who lie about themselves,
- 16:40Speaker 2: lie about who they are, and you're not going to
- 16:43Speaker 2: get anywhere with those people. You have to have an
- 16:45Speaker 2: honest conversation about who you are and what you want
- 16:48Speaker 2: out of your life, and you need to surround yourself
- 16:51Speaker 2: with people who want that to Yes.
- 16:54Speaker 1: Ed Collins is my guest. This morning, who is very
- 16:58Speaker 1: close with Rex. Rex is not able to be here
- 17:01Speaker 1: this morning. He's at the pediatrist getting his toenails.
- 17:07Speaker 2: Clipto. This is what we built a house for Hunters
- 17:14Speaker 2: Investment Proper company. We from start to finish. Someone poured
- 17:21Speaker 2: the concrete and from then on out Chris Pearlton, I
- 17:25Speaker 2: framed it, put a roof on it, sided it all
- 17:31Speaker 2: for Barslow. This is Rex's Rex and Hunter's brainchild. Sure,
- 17:37Speaker 2: I am just the legs of the operation, and I
- 17:39Speaker 2: have to be because I am too dumb to plan
- 17:42Speaker 2: a project of that size. Sure, but I am a
- 17:45Speaker 2: great I'm great at finishing stuff.
- 17:48Speaker 1: Of course.
- 17:48Speaker 2: I love. I love going to work and creating something
- 17:53Speaker 2: and turning around being like, man, doesn't that look beautiful? Yeah? Right,
- 17:56Speaker 2: that's very satisfactory to my brain. If I have to
- 18:00Speaker 2: show up to an office every day and fake it,
- 18:02Speaker 2: that's when I would implode.
- 18:04Speaker 1: So so what does this have to do with Rex
- 18:08Speaker 1: at the PTIT trust to this.
- 18:10Speaker 2: So he and Hunter closed on this house. Yes, they
- 18:19Speaker 2: have finally sold it. So today is the day if
- 18:23Speaker 2: they go sign paperwork and finally sell this house. Yeah,
- 18:26Speaker 2: this morning, start to finish right now, created this house
- 18:33Speaker 2: and sold it is. It's amazing, dude, what a courageous act.
- 18:38Speaker 1: I can't imagine a world where.
- 18:39Speaker 2: Everyone just wants to give up after like one bad thing.
- 18:43Speaker 2: Hey man, we're going to build a house and we're
- 18:45Speaker 2: going to deal with all the bullshit that comes with it,
- 18:47Speaker 2: and we're going.
- 18:48Speaker 1: To do this, and sometimes two or three bad things
- 18:50Speaker 1: we do.
- 18:51Speaker 2: Sometimes it's a couple of weeks worth of bad thing. Sure,
- 18:55Speaker 2: Sometimes it's good for a month and then two days
- 18:57Speaker 2: worth of ship sets you back that entire month. Yes,
- 19:00Speaker 2: sometimes that happens. And you can't just throw your hands
- 19:03Speaker 2: up in the air.
- 19:03Speaker 1: And go, oh man, yeah right, well now what can
- 19:06Speaker 1: I Well, we have you on camera here. Can I
- 19:09Speaker 1: just see a quick bicep shot? Just jesus lord, I
- 19:15Speaker 1: wor greens.
- 19:15Speaker 2: I'm trying to fucking I'm trying to look like the whole.
- 19:17Speaker 1: Can we see your shirt?
- 19:18Speaker 2: Please? My shirt?
- 19:20Speaker 1: Yep, the whole.
- 19:21Speaker 2: I'm a nervous source. Rex. Toy Story one is my
- 19:26Speaker 2: favorite Pixar movie.
- 19:27Speaker 1: You like Toy, You like some of the kids.
- 19:31Speaker 2: We've conquered Disney Plus?
- 19:34Speaker 1: Have you been to Disney?
- 19:36Speaker 2: Now?
- 19:37Speaker 1: Will? No?
- 19:38Speaker 2: I don't want to be around those people. I just
- 19:39Speaker 2: want to enjoy the movie. Those people, Dude, Disney adults,
- 19:43Speaker 2: are you kidding me? No? Thank you, no, thank you.
- 19:47Speaker 2: If you have made Disney your identity into your thirties,
- 19:51Speaker 2: then we are different people and I do not want
- 19:53Speaker 2: to be around you.
- 19:54Speaker 1: I went to Disney once. True story, standing there night time,
- 20:00Speaker 1: fireworks are getting ready to go off, fireworks standing there
- 20:04Speaker 1: with Lily and Cherylyn. This was years ago.
- 20:06Speaker 2: I get if you have kids, don't misinterpret that. If
- 20:09Speaker 2: you're bringing your kids to a magical place by all
- 20:11Speaker 2: means happening.
- 20:12Speaker 1: Please. I'm just surprised with you, with all the mushroom consumption,
- 20:17Speaker 1: that you haven't been to the magical place. That's all.
- 20:19Speaker 2: I've been to the magical place, jad, I've been to
- 20:23Speaker 2: the magical Kingdom over and over again.
- 20:25Speaker 1: You have just not the one in Orleans.
- 20:28Speaker 2: It's my bedroom, Christmas lights all around it.
- 20:30Speaker 1: So we're standing there and we're getting ready for the
- 20:33Speaker 1: fireworks to go off, and I look at it. There's
- 20:37Speaker 1: this young woman who's you's got to be in her twenties,
- 20:40Speaker 1: who's right next to us. And we're there for quite
- 20:42Speaker 1: a while, and you know, Chriylyn and I were both
- 20:47Speaker 1: noticing she's you know, she's not with with a man,
- 20:50Speaker 1: she's not with a partner. You know, she's alone. And
- 20:52Speaker 1: you know, an hour goes by or so and we
- 20:55Speaker 1: start talking and I'm like, so, who are you here with?
- 20:58Speaker 1: And she says, I'm just here with myself. And I said,
- 21:01Speaker 1: where are you from? And she says, I'm from California.
- 21:05Speaker 1: And she said, I love Disney so much. I fly
- 21:08Speaker 1: here once a year to Orlando by myself for a
- 21:12Speaker 1: week and I just all by myself. I just go
- 21:16Speaker 1: around to the Magic Kingdom.
- 21:18Speaker 2: I need that much money to have that much fun
- 21:20Speaker 2: by myself. Life's taking it to me. So if I
- 21:23Speaker 2: could afford across the country plane ticket to go somewhere
- 21:28Speaker 2: for a week, that'd be awesome. Yeah, I would love that.
- 21:30Speaker 1: I'd love to go to the Magic Kingdom with you
- 21:32Speaker 1: life and stream it.
- 21:33Speaker 2: Live. Life has been kicking me in the nuts for
- 21:35Speaker 2: the last four or five months.
- 21:37Speaker 1: Yeah, So, okay, what what has you've had quite the
- 21:44Speaker 1: mixed martial arts journey? Journey that's a perfect word. Yes,
- 21:49Speaker 1: you've had You've been matched up with some huge fights,
- 21:56Speaker 1: You've had some health issues, you've had some accidents. At
- 21:59Speaker 1: the at the last last minute and have been been
- 22:02Speaker 1: able to fight what was one of the recent ones
- 22:06Speaker 1: that really bummed you out? Like it bummed you because
- 22:11Speaker 1: you were you went through you were going through fight camp,
- 22:13Speaker 1: you were ready mentally, physically, and all of a sudden.
- 22:18Speaker 2: That's happened a bunch of times. So here's a little
- 22:22Speaker 2: Chris lesson for you, is that I've working with that
- 22:27Speaker 2: dude helped me understand how I need to not overreact.
- 22:33Speaker 2: And I have spent a lot of my time freaking
- 22:36Speaker 2: out over the weather, over injuries, over all of the
- 22:41Speaker 2: uncontrollable ship that just happens in life. Politics. So I
- 22:45Speaker 2: don't do politics other things than just the weather. Dude,
- 22:51Speaker 2: My family, my siblings, life, life comes at you.
- 22:57Speaker 1: Would you say that every single one of us is
- 23:01Speaker 1: is fucked up, but just on different levels for different
- 23:03Speaker 1: reasons to we're all traumatized, different stories.
- 23:06Speaker 2: This is what I'm learning as a human. Yeah, we
- 23:09Speaker 2: are all traumatized. Like yeah, it's way not to be
- 23:16Speaker 2: with a with a.
- 23:18Speaker 1: Stupid metaphor here, But I think of a snowflake and
- 23:22Speaker 1: how every single snowflake is unique, is different. Every single
- 23:26Speaker 1: one of us has our own trauma cock too. Trauma
- 23:31Speaker 1: what trauma, cock to trauma. Well, but there's good things
- 23:35Speaker 1: and bad things that have happened in our lives. We've
- 23:37Speaker 1: all been on our own roller coaster.
- 23:39Speaker 2: But uh, like survival mechanism, you have to focus on
- 23:43Speaker 2: the bad because that's the stuff that really hurts you. Sure,
- 23:45Speaker 2: so when you get hurt as a person, that's what
- 23:48Speaker 2: that's your natural reaction.
- 23:49Speaker 1: You've been on a roller coaster in life, and fair
- 23:53Speaker 1: to say, at least I say, it seems like for
- 23:57Speaker 1: much of that ride that you've been unbuckled.
- 24:04Speaker 2: So here's what mushrooms have done for me in my life.
- 24:09Speaker 2: I spend a lot of my time with my fingers out.
- 24:14Speaker 2: It's their fault. It was this, it was that person.
- 24:19Speaker 2: It was because I didn't get that. It was always
- 24:22Speaker 2: something else. And when I ate mushrooms. Yeah, the only
- 24:26Speaker 2: problem I could see in my life was the choices
- 24:28Speaker 2: that I was making and how I was sabotaging myself
- 24:32Speaker 2: every step of the way, with how I treat people,
- 24:34Speaker 2: with how I.
- 24:37Speaker 1: Well, a lot of us love self sabotage.
- 24:40Speaker 2: No, everyone loves themselves too much. Everyone. A lot of
- 24:45Speaker 2: people make a lot of their life about only them.
- 24:49Speaker 2: And I've felt the worst I have felt is when
- 24:53Speaker 2: I've tried to make my life about me. When you fistfight,
- 24:57Speaker 2: you have to spend all of your time training. Then
- 25:01Speaker 2: you have to go home and worry about food. You
- 25:03Speaker 2: have to go home and worry about recovery. It is
- 25:06Speaker 2: never ending. It is never ending. When I went home
- 25:11Speaker 2: and decided that, hey, I love my girlfriend, I'm going
- 25:14Speaker 2: to choose her. I want I want to see what
- 25:17Speaker 2: she feels about her life. I want to figure out
- 25:20Speaker 2: the stuff that bothers her. Yeah, And then I made
- 25:23Speaker 2: it the WI and the we feels so much better
- 25:26Speaker 2: than the me. The me is so lonely. You do
- 25:29Speaker 2: not want to put yourself on an island. Isolation is
- 25:33Speaker 2: not the answer.
- 25:34Speaker 1: You've been there, You've been on this island.
- 25:37Speaker 2: Ask Benny Bird how meat I can be as a human?
- 25:42Speaker 3: Wow?
- 25:43Speaker 2: Who's Benny Benny's Rex's laborer. Yeah, Benny got stuck with
- 25:49Speaker 2: me when I had no idea how to communicate any
- 25:52Speaker 2: type of emotion. So it all came out very harsh
- 25:55Speaker 2: on him, on him, so yeah, to eat all of it.
- 25:59Speaker 1: Wow, so wow.
- 26:02Speaker 2: So when I go through all of this and at
- 26:04Speaker 2: the end of the tunnel, I have Benny Bird, of
- 26:06Speaker 2: all people, being like, hey man, yeah, something's different. I
- 26:10Speaker 2: like this guy.
- 26:11Speaker 1: Oh shit?
- 26:12Speaker 2: Can I say that I'm doing the wrong thing if
- 26:15Speaker 2: the people around me are like, who the fuck's this? Yeah? Damn?
- 26:21Speaker 1: How has how has Rex changed your life? What do
- 26:27Speaker 1: you say to that old fat fella? Yeah?
- 26:33Speaker 3: All right, so Rex has.
- 26:38Speaker 2: Rex was one of the only people I've met who
- 26:41Speaker 2: has not been afraid of me to where when I
- 26:45Speaker 2: blow up, it's not oh shit, I don't want to
- 26:47Speaker 2: be around that guy. Rex has been one of the
- 26:49Speaker 2: only people I've ever met that has wanted to dive
- 26:51Speaker 2: into whatever that was. And without it, God forbid, I
- 26:57Speaker 2: would not be in this place. And like with the
- 27:00Speaker 2: people that I have around me, with the relationships I have,
- 27:03Speaker 2: I would have sabotaged all of it. I would have
- 27:06Speaker 2: pushed people away. I would have lashed out in countless ways,
- 27:11Speaker 2: in countless ways.
- 27:14Speaker 1: Rex his as you're quite familiar with and many are
- 27:20Speaker 1: and in summer, has taken some fire lately by a
- 27:26Speaker 1: troublemaker who.
- 27:28Speaker 2: People want attention a heart for anyway.
- 27:30Speaker 1: He's out of heart for Connecticut. He's got a girlfriend
- 27:33Speaker 1: up here at Highgate. John Anderson, do you know what
- 27:37Speaker 1: I've learned about people? Hate always comes from below you.
- 27:42Speaker 1: The people who are doing well will never point down
- 27:46Speaker 1: and pick at you. Yeah, you always punch up because
- 27:50Speaker 1: you're envious of what that person is doing with your life. Sure,
- 27:53Speaker 1: life takes consistency and a lot of hard work, and
- 27:57Speaker 1: if you're not willing to commit that, then your life's
- 27:59Speaker 1: probably gonna suck. So when people see someone actually making
- 28:03Speaker 1: the effort, it's easy to try to poke a hole
- 28:07Speaker 1: in that because there's no chance in your life that
- 28:10Speaker 1: you could make that effort or that consistency or admit
- 28:13Speaker 1: that you fucked up and that you have.
- 28:15Speaker 2: To do better, because that's what it takes a lot
- 28:17Speaker 2: of the time. No, no, all of the time. Yeah,
- 28:20Speaker 2: all of the time. That is what it takes. You know.
- 28:24Speaker 1: Here here we are here, we are National Autism Awareness Month,
- 28:37Speaker 1: the month of April. The irony here of of what
- 28:43Speaker 1: Rex has had to endure from this freaking So.
- 28:49Speaker 2: The only currency you have in your life is your time.
- 28:53Speaker 2: And Rex has taken time out of his like he's
- 28:56Speaker 2: not busy enough running a business. And Donnie Brook.
- 28:59Speaker 1: Tell me about Saturday mornings at so Rex wakes up
- 29:03Speaker 1: Granite City, Mma wakes up Dante please.
- 29:07Speaker 2: And he so Dante is an autistic child that got
- 29:11Speaker 2: bullied on the bus. The bus driver had no idea
- 29:14Speaker 2: how to handle him and had a physical altercation with
- 29:20Speaker 2: a thirteen year old autistic boy.
- 29:23Speaker 1: Dante's mom is tuned in right now.
- 29:25Speaker 2: Okay, hello. So Rex took it upon himself to donate
- 29:35Speaker 2: his time on Saturday mornings to go try to teach
- 29:40Speaker 2: Dante how to defend himself as something like that were
- 29:43Speaker 2: to happen again. What an asshole? Yeah, are you kidding me?
- 29:52Speaker 2: Come on, we can't even have good intentions and do
- 29:57Speaker 2: things for people without having someone like that being like, na,
- 30:00Speaker 2: he's a fucking pedofoil. He's touching that kid. Fuck you?
- 30:05Speaker 2: Fuck you?
- 30:06Speaker 1: Yeah that that that got a lot of people riled
- 30:12Speaker 1: up in our community when this when John Anderson started to.
- 30:17Speaker 2: Because someone who cares about his community is trying to
- 30:20Speaker 2: do good in it. Yeah, yeah, tell me what John
- 30:24Speaker 2: Anderson has done for our community exactly, sell drugs, heroin.
- 30:30Speaker 2: Come the fuck on? Yeah, I know. And we can't
- 30:35Speaker 2: get mad at these people. Oh yeah, we can't do
- 30:39Speaker 2: anything to these people and they can hide behind the
- 30:43Speaker 2: anonymity of a fucking keyboard and say whatever they want.
- 30:47Speaker 2: Fuck you. Yeah, man, fuck you.
- 30:51Speaker 1: Amen. Amen, and hopefully, uh, you know, I I say
- 30:59Speaker 1: to Rack, you know, hopefully you'll have it. You'll have
- 31:01Speaker 1: a chance to to be face to face with.
- 31:05Speaker 2: I don't want Rex to get in trouble and dude. Yeah,
- 31:11Speaker 2: if Rex really tried to hurt that fella, like no
- 31:14Speaker 2: court system would be like well, yeah.
- 31:17Speaker 1: Rex says, a uh, He's got a relationship with Dante
- 31:21Speaker 1: that is very unique and.
- 31:24Speaker 2: He's a very genuine human.
- 31:26Speaker 1: He is right hard to come across through the bone.
- 31:30Speaker 1: And Rex in any of his father obviously when when
- 31:33Speaker 1: they're together, not care.
- 31:34Speaker 2: Because he is a genuine human.
- 31:36Speaker 1: Yeah, I know. But a lot of what they what
- 31:42Speaker 1: they're doing together is you know, it's like you said, roughhousing,
- 31:46Speaker 1: you know, and it's just it's physical and and quite honestly,
- 31:51Speaker 1: you know, and Rex has said.
- 31:52Speaker 2: It's not to mention that his father is the one
- 31:54Speaker 2: holding the camera.
- 31:55Speaker 1: Hello, my god, I know you think.
- 31:59Speaker 2: That his that is sitting there taping that letting something
- 32:02Speaker 2: like that happen. You know.
- 32:04Speaker 1: He used the masoning Rex bananas in a banana. Rex
- 32:10Speaker 1: is explained to me that what what Dante needs is
- 32:14Speaker 1: to be a little comfortable with some dude some physical
- 32:20Speaker 1: physical Everyone needs to.
- 32:21Speaker 2: Be comfortable with a little bit of violence. It's not
- 32:25Speaker 2: you are always a.
- 32:26Speaker 1: But it's not violence though, I mean now not with Dante.
- 32:29Speaker 1: It is just with Dante, just just pushing around.
- 32:32Speaker 2: Training is supposed to be playing. That's the sport itself
- 32:37Speaker 2: is brutal. So if you are trying to train for
- 32:40Speaker 2: the like an actual competition, it is brutal. But if
- 32:44Speaker 2: you are trying to have any longevity in that, it
- 32:47Speaker 2: is play.
- 32:49Speaker 1: What is admirable for me and I'm sure you is
- 32:54Speaker 1: to you know, I see Rex respond and reaction from
- 33:01Speaker 1: from an emotional standpoint because he was hurt by this.
- 33:06Speaker 2: We're emotional creatures.
- 33:07Speaker 1: We're emotional creatures. But to also see him try to
- 33:11Speaker 1: take the high road and be uh resilient, that's called growth.
- 33:16Speaker 2: Yeah, man, we have to grow as people. We can't
- 33:19Speaker 2: just laugh.
- 33:19Speaker 1: But it's so tough when you if you do something,
- 33:22Speaker 1: eating is.
- 33:23Speaker 2: The hardest part eating a shit sandwich, knowing that you need,
- 33:27Speaker 2: knowing the gratification of holding someone accountable for their shitty behavior.
- 33:32Speaker 1: Yeah right. If you do something bad and you are
- 33:37Speaker 1: you're getting you're taking fire, that's one thing. But if
- 33:40Speaker 1: you do something good, and you take fire.
- 33:45Speaker 2: That makes it hard to put the effort in.
- 33:47Speaker 1: Huh, yes it does.
- 33:49Speaker 2: That's where it says more about him still putting the
- 33:51Speaker 2: effort in this slander my name. I will still wake
- 33:55Speaker 2: up tomorrow, I will still put in the effort. I
- 33:57Speaker 2: will still go try to be a decent human because yeah, whatever,
- 34:01Speaker 2: am I really going to let that dude's opinions slow
- 34:04Speaker 2: me from doing anything in my day?
- 34:05Speaker 1: There's a lesson to be learned here, and it's it's
- 34:08Speaker 1: a tough lesson for so many of us to learn.
- 34:12Speaker 1: I struggle with it at times too, But Rex has
- 34:15Speaker 1: set a great example of how to be stronger and better.
- 34:20Speaker 1: I would say better, but god man, it's like, what
- 34:25Speaker 1: a shit show? Least difficult that was? I mean Easter
- 34:30Speaker 1: Easter Sunday with Easter Sunday was was a was a
- 34:34Speaker 1: shit show for for that. I mean, you know, I
- 34:38Speaker 1: don't know.
- 34:39Speaker 2: That was my birthday?
- 34:40Speaker 1: Happy birth How weld? You just turned thirty three? Thirty three? Damn?
- 34:46Speaker 1: Today is today? Is National Telephone Day? Today? Interesting? We
- 34:55Speaker 1: were talking about distracted driving and stuff. I want to
- 34:57Speaker 1: ask you and it maybe make the the Facebook question
- 35:01Speaker 1: of the day. What's the most embarrassing telephone call that
- 35:07Speaker 1: you've you think you've ever had.
- 35:11Speaker 2: So I grew up in the time. Look at this.
- 35:13Speaker 1: You don't even need to think about it.
- 35:15Speaker 2: When telemarketers used to call your house relentlessly, Yes, a
- 35:20Speaker 2: lot of kids, a lot of kids. Our parents did
- 35:23Speaker 2: not give a fuck. My mom is a saint because
- 35:26Speaker 2: if she tried to wrangle us in, she would have
- 35:29Speaker 2: pulled her fucking hair out. So when telemarketers call, we
- 35:32Speaker 2: were like, sweet entertainment, let's fuck with these people. Yes,
- 35:35Speaker 2: our parents have died. We've been home alone for a month.
- 35:39Speaker 2: Can you send food and water?
- 35:40Speaker 3: Please?
- 35:41Speaker 1: Beautiful love that a lot of good times, you had
- 35:45Speaker 1: some good times. As for me, I called and I'll
- 35:52Speaker 1: remember this like it was yesterday. Called my assistant principal
- 35:57Speaker 1: at high school, and this was I don't want to
- 35:59Speaker 1: date my self here, but this was right around the
- 36:01Speaker 1: time when like caller ID was was starting to be
- 36:06Speaker 1: well pagers, yes, fuck off. It's it's like caller ID
- 36:13Speaker 1: was just starting to come out.
- 36:14Speaker 2: Now, okay, wild where we're at.
- 36:16Speaker 1: But I didn't know that as a fifteen year old asshole.
- 36:22Speaker 2: You're like, wat be fucking funny.
- 36:24Speaker 1: I I was with a couple of couple of friends,
- 36:28Speaker 1: and we called the high school. We got the assistant
- 36:32Speaker 1: principal on the line, and he I was. I'm on
- 36:36Speaker 1: the phone with him, and my buddies are listening, and
- 36:38Speaker 1: I'm like, do you do you realize how tight your
- 36:43Speaker 1: pants are? Do you realize that your pants are so
- 36:47Speaker 1: tight it doesn't look like you're wearing underwear? Do you
- 36:51Speaker 1: even realize that you're walking around with high waters on?
- 36:54Speaker 1: You look like you look? I just I just this
- 36:57Speaker 1: was a long time ago. I just unleashed on this guy.
- 37:02Speaker 1: And then of course I hung up. Well, we're all
- 37:08Speaker 1: sitting there laughing. Five minutes later, the phone rings. My
- 37:13Speaker 1: mom comes in from outside. She can't I'm not thinking
- 37:16Speaker 1: anything of it, So what the phone's ringing? My mommy
- 37:20Speaker 1: answers the phone, I'm not thinking about anything, and I
- 37:23Speaker 1: hear her like mm hmm oh oh okay, oh gosh,
- 37:30Speaker 1: okay mm hmm okay. I am so sorry. I am
- 37:36Speaker 1: so sorry. I am so sorry. Nope, Nope, I won't no,
- 37:40Speaker 1: I won't. No. She hangs up, comes in and says
- 37:46Speaker 1: to my friends very calmly, all right, guys, listen, I
- 37:50Speaker 1: need you all to head home.
- 37:52Speaker 2: I need to have some.
- 37:55Speaker 1: No, I just I need some alone time. And my
- 37:58Speaker 1: buddies are like, how's going on here? So they leave
- 38:01Speaker 1: and Mom sits me down and she's like, uh, I
- 38:06Speaker 1: just got a phone call from the assistant principle.
- 38:10Speaker 2: And I was like, when you're blood around the cold, how.
- 38:16Speaker 1: Did that happen? And oh my what? She's like, Yes,
- 38:21Speaker 1: we have something called caller ID now and I'm like,
- 38:25Speaker 1: what's that. She's like, well, if they know what phone
- 38:30Speaker 1: number called them and I'm like.
- 38:33Speaker 2: Oh my god. And I would have got away with
- 38:36Speaker 2: it too, if it weren't for those best.
- 38:39Speaker 1: And she's like, you told him that he was wearing
- 38:43Speaker 1: high waters and that his ass looked good in his
- 38:47Speaker 1: tight pants.
- 38:48Speaker 2: And Gilbert tells me that a lot.
- 38:51Speaker 1: Gilbert's told me that a few times too.
- 38:53Speaker 2: I'm just saying, you're that Gilbert.
- 38:58Speaker 3: You hear that?
- 38:59Speaker 1: So so I'm like, oh my god. And she's like,
- 39:04Speaker 1: but I want you to know something. He asked me
- 39:08Speaker 1: who it was that he was speaking with, and he
- 39:11Speaker 1: asked me where the phone call came.
- 39:14Speaker 3: To get you a date?
- 39:16Speaker 2: My my mom, did you have a girly voice? And played?
- 39:24Speaker 2: She would not tell him who I was, all right,
- 39:29Speaker 2: your mom's a good one. My mom would have added
- 39:31Speaker 2: me out. My mom is all for you have to
- 39:35Speaker 2: respect a person in charge. And my mom would have been, yeah,
- 39:38Speaker 2: that was my shitty, my shitty youngest child. He's right here.
- 39:43Speaker 2: Hold on.
- 39:43Speaker 1: My mom had she covered my ass and she sat
- 39:49Speaker 1: me down and she's like, look, he wanted to know
- 39:52Speaker 1: your name. And I said, I will tell you that
- 39:55Speaker 1: it's my son. Yes, but I'm not going to tell
- 39:57Speaker 1: you my name or my son's name. But she said,
- 40:02Speaker 1: I will deal with it. I will take care of
- 40:05Speaker 1: it and it will never happen again. Hell yeah, And
- 40:08Speaker 1: she's like, I got your ass. I'm covering you, but
- 40:11Speaker 1: don't don't do that again. You got them. But just
- 40:16Speaker 1: know there is something called caller ID. So that's my
- 40:19Speaker 1: tribute to mom this morning, on this National Telephone Day.
- 40:25Speaker 2: Man, moms are awesome.
- 40:26Speaker 1: Oh my god, speaking of moms, Uh listen, I want
- 40:30Speaker 1: to have a speaking of moms. I want to have
- 40:33Speaker 1: a little bit of an uncomfortable, uncomfortable conversation with you.
- 40:37Speaker 2: I hear it.
- 40:38Speaker 1: I know you love one, this one you're not going
- 40:42Speaker 1: to see coming. I have been told and I've never
- 40:45Speaker 1: met your mom, but I have been told by several
- 40:48Speaker 1: people that your mom ed Collins is not just hot,
- 40:54Speaker 1: but smoking ass hot. What's going on her?
- 41:00Speaker 2: So my mom has a boyfriend right now and he
- 41:04Speaker 2: adores her. So to watch him seek affection from my
- 41:10Speaker 2: mother and to watch her be appreciated like that, it's
- 41:13Speaker 2: like watching kids. They are fucking children, yes, and I
- 41:18Speaker 2: want to be I am picked out. Stop fucking talking
- 41:20Speaker 2: about it next to me, Ellen, I don't want to
- 41:23Speaker 2: hear it. But the fact that they're giddy like that.
- 41:29Speaker 2: I'm not gonna call my mom ugly because I had
- 41:32Speaker 2: to get my devilish good looks from someone and it
- 41:35Speaker 2: wasn't my dad. It wasn't. But who said my mom
- 41:40Speaker 2: was hot? I mean, I mean, my mom is awesome.
- 41:48Speaker 2: My mom is like the mom you dream about. She
- 41:52Speaker 2: is the most selfless person I've ever met. It would
- 42:00Speaker 2: have been Rex probably, I know. The first time he
- 42:04Speaker 2: saw her, he was absolutely shocked. He was like, I
- 42:07Speaker 2: don't know what I expected, but it wasn't that. And
- 42:11Speaker 2: then he just sort of looked at me like, you know,
- 42:14Speaker 2: do you own a mirror? Have you seen you? It's
- 42:17Speaker 2: not all that. I can't believe I woke up to
- 42:22Speaker 2: talk about my mom's fucking hotness.
- 42:24Speaker 1: With you alive. Well, I mean, it's one thing if
- 42:30Speaker 1: if we're waking up, if we're waking up and talking
- 42:32Speaker 1: about how hot your mom is, that's one thing. But
- 42:34Speaker 1: if we're talking about how hot your mom is live
- 42:37Speaker 1: on camera in front of all these people, that's a
- 42:39Speaker 1: whole nother thing.
- 42:40Speaker 2: Buddy, is what it is.
- 42:42Speaker 1: I hope to have.
- 42:44Speaker 2: You can't fuck baby slit.
- 42:46Speaker 1: I'm trying to make you talk about it. Listen, I
- 42:50Speaker 1: want to ask you, do you know about this? Apparently
- 42:55Speaker 1: we had a shooting last night here in Perry, right
- 42:57Speaker 1: here on North Main Street.
- 43:01Speaker 2: So here's how I feel about the trouble in Barry.
- 43:04Speaker 2: I've been here, like I said, a long time. I
- 43:09Speaker 2: have not found the trouble that happens in Barry that
- 43:14Speaker 2: is consistently reported. If you're getting in trouble like that,
- 43:17Speaker 2: it's because you're going out and you're making dumb decisions.
- 43:20Speaker 2: Because yes, life is all about choices, and you are
- 43:23Speaker 2: making a choice to go do some dumb shit that
- 43:26Speaker 2: could potentially get you around someone who has a gun
- 43:29Speaker 2: who may want to shoot you, and then in fact
- 43:32Speaker 2: does so at some point. I think ten decisions before
- 43:37Speaker 2: the one that got him shot. He could have made
- 43:39Speaker 2: a change nine decisions before the one that got him
- 43:41Speaker 2: shot could have made a change. See where I'm going
- 43:44Speaker 2: with this. I do people make a lot of choices
- 43:46Speaker 2: and then fucking sit there and cry wolf when something
- 43:49Speaker 2: bad happens to him. Yeah, no shit, yeah no shit.
- 43:54Speaker 1: It's too bad.
- 43:55Speaker 2: Though, it is too bad. I'm not saying that someone
- 43:57Speaker 2: getting shot is an awesome thing. I don't know circumstances
- 44:00Speaker 2: behind it, but if it's in this town, I'm assuming
- 44:03Speaker 2: it's drug related.
- 44:06Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 44:07Speaker 2: I think many of us Sorry for making assumptions. I'm
- 44:11Speaker 2: sorry if you're an innocent bystander in this. I'm not
- 44:13Speaker 2: trying to fucking poke fun at your bullet hole.
- 44:20Speaker 1: There's some heavy stuff going on in the news, man.
- 44:23Speaker 1: I don't watch the news at all at all. Here's aha.
- 44:29Speaker 2: I'm happy you bring this up because I think a
- 44:32Speaker 2: lot of people that we live around get so fucking
- 44:36Speaker 2: worked up about what the fuck is put on their
- 44:39Speaker 2: TV screen and called news. Are you kidding me? Here's
- 44:44Speaker 2: something to think about. If your house is on fucking
- 44:46Speaker 2: fire and you called the federal government, do you think
- 44:52Speaker 2: the federal government is coming to help you put your
- 44:54Speaker 2: house out. Now the neighbor that you're arguing with over nothing,
- 45:02Speaker 2: turns out it's not a lot of difference. It's just
- 45:06Speaker 2: because you sort of want to feel right. So now
- 45:09Speaker 2: that you've argued with your neighbor and your house is
- 45:12Speaker 2: on fire and you go out and ask for help
- 45:14Speaker 2: and he goes, huh, sorry about your house being on fire.
- 45:18Speaker 2: That sucks? Or should we be worried about building our
- 45:21Speaker 2: community up? Hey, how's your family, how's your life going?
- 45:25Speaker 2: How are you doing? When was the last time you
- 45:28Speaker 2: walked outside and said, hey, how are you to anyone?
- 45:32Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 45:33Speaker 2: Or did you walk outside and went, huh, I wonder
- 45:35Speaker 2: what I need to do to get through this day? Sure,
- 45:38Speaker 2: but again that goes back to that lonely me thought, Yeah,
- 45:43Speaker 2: instead of worrying about the Wii, people have lost the
- 45:46Speaker 2: Wii in their lives. We are.
- 45:50Speaker 1: Concerned about tariffs and how they are going to affect
- 45:54Speaker 1: our lives. We're concerned about a lot of superficial stuff
- 46:01Speaker 1: that is, at the end of the day, it may
- 46:04Speaker 1: affect us in somewhere enough affect us, but we have
- 46:08Speaker 1: to stay grounded to what's most important.
- 46:13Speaker 2: We can't let anything external change how we as people function.
- 46:20Speaker 2: You're letting whatever that thing is then take control over
- 46:23Speaker 2: you and control all of your thoughts for that day.
- 46:27Speaker 2: You can't sit there and worry about the thing that
- 46:30Speaker 2: could potentially happen. You have to go out and deal
- 46:33Speaker 2: with what's being thrown at you. Any energy that you
- 46:36Speaker 2: put towards anything else is a waste of energy. Worry
- 46:40Speaker 2: about the shit that's going on right in front of you.
- 46:42Speaker 2: That's a lot. If you worry about your own life,
- 46:45Speaker 2: it's a fucking lot. Why would you want to go
- 46:47Speaker 2: out of your way to find more stuff to care about? Sure?
- 46:52Speaker 1: Sure, all you have to do is power up your
- 46:55Speaker 1: phone in the morning and just have a glance at it,
- 46:58Speaker 1: and you'll see stuff is trying to get your attention
- 47:03Speaker 1: and to focus your mind on on that. But we
- 47:07Speaker 1: lose sight of what's in front of us.
- 47:09Speaker 3: Man.
- 47:09Speaker 1: And it's like the Internet is you know, I get
- 47:12Speaker 1: I get people, Jesus jad. I've been trying to reach
- 47:15Speaker 1: it for the last four or five hours, and I'm like, dude,
- 47:19Speaker 1: I'm come see me. I'm on plugged, I'm on I'm
- 47:23Speaker 1: on my dirt bike with Lily. I'm not playing with Lily.
- 47:26Speaker 1: I don't give a ship what's going on? Yeah, but
- 47:28Speaker 1: didn't you hear about the But I could give a
- 47:30Speaker 1: ship man.
- 47:31Speaker 2: Favorite is that if I ever needed him, I don't
- 47:35Speaker 2: have to call I just to show up. I have
- 47:37Speaker 2: to show up at his house. Yeah, two in the
- 47:39Speaker 2: morning anytime.
- 47:42Speaker 3: Hmm.
- 47:42Speaker 2: That's the type of friend that I am. A very
- 47:45Speaker 2: gracious person with my time and my resources. Right, if
- 47:51Speaker 2: you are not willing to meet me on that level,
- 47:53Speaker 2: then I have nothing for you.
- 47:55Speaker 1: Sure.
- 47:55Speaker 2: Rex is one of the few people I've met in
- 47:57Speaker 2: my life that is willing to meet me on the
- 47:59Speaker 2: level of the human that I'm willing to meet him at.
- 48:02Speaker 1: Sure, and that's important. Rex is the kind of guy.
- 48:05Speaker 1: And this has happened to me. I've shown up at
- 48:07Speaker 1: the house unannounced and he's been will.
- 48:10Speaker 2: Drop everything, what is your problem?
- 48:12Speaker 1: What do you need?
- 48:12Speaker 2: Right?
- 48:13Speaker 1: But one time I showed up and he was, you know,
- 48:16Speaker 1: with Brenda and for Randy. H he just stopped.
- 48:23Speaker 2: And that doesn't sound like Rex. I bet Rex would
- 48:27Speaker 2: have told you to fucking wait a minute.
- 48:30Speaker 1: A minute, That's that's about it. Yeah, I would be
- 48:34Speaker 1: a minute, But you know, he's a ship Gilbert came
- 48:38Speaker 1: came to me and was like, what's going on and
- 48:41Speaker 1: are you doing all right? What's going on here? I
- 48:43Speaker 1: was like, yeah, it was just coming by his side,
- 48:45Speaker 1: all right, Okay, remember yeah, you can't.
- 48:49Speaker 2: Make people care about you know. When you find someone
- 48:52Speaker 2: that cares about you, care back, Yes, care back. I agree,
- 48:57Speaker 2: Create the wei, create the wi.
- 49:00Speaker 1: I love that. That's a that's a that's a takeaway
- 49:03Speaker 1: for me this morning.
- 49:05Speaker 2: Good.
- 49:05Speaker 3: What what do you? What are you?
- 49:09Speaker 1: What are you doing now with your life? What what's happening?
- 49:13Speaker 1: You're You're in construction.
- 49:15Speaker 2: I am trying to learn as many trades as I
- 49:20Speaker 2: potentially can. Okay, I can frame the house, I can
- 49:25Speaker 2: side a house.
- 49:25Speaker 1: Plumbing no fuck, no, heating now, electrical now okay. So
- 49:31Speaker 1: so construction.
- 49:32Speaker 2: Construction, if you can build it, I want to be
- 49:37Speaker 2: able to build it, all right. If you hand me something,
- 49:39Speaker 2: I want to be like, all right.
- 49:40Speaker 1: Who's carrying the heavyweight though, Benny, Because based on the
- 49:43Speaker 1: size of your arms, I'm guessing that you're like, guys,
- 49:46Speaker 1: can you bring those little nails over for just a second?
- 49:49Speaker 1: So can you can you carry those concrete?
- 49:52Speaker 2: I understand shingles am a fucking gorilla, yes, So I
- 50:01Speaker 2: try to take the workload off people around me. Because
- 50:08Speaker 2: it is easier for me and it's not a lot
- 50:10Speaker 2: of effort. It doesn't mean that people around me aren't trying.
- 50:15Speaker 2: It just means that I want to do a little
- 50:18Speaker 2: more so they don't have to interesting and I'm getting
- 50:25Speaker 2: fucking jacked in the process. Who cares? And at some
- 50:29Speaker 2: point someone needs to do it anyway, So if they
- 50:32Speaker 2: weren't there, I would be stuck doing all of it.
- 50:35Speaker 2: So why don't you appreciate the fact that they're taking anything?
- 50:38Speaker 4: Yeah, well said, it's a fucking tornado between these ears,
- 50:51Speaker 4: but sometimes some shit sticks.
- 50:54Speaker 1: I'm just seeing now that we have I saw this
- 50:59Speaker 1: last night that we've ided the Milton police officer that
- 51:03Speaker 1: was shot responding to the house fire search into Paul Locke.
- 51:10Speaker 1: Can you imagine being a police officer and showing up
- 51:13Speaker 1: at a fire, You're trying to help someone and you're
- 51:16Speaker 1: getting ambushed with bullets? The fuck.
- 51:22Speaker 2: Because a lot of a lot of my life decisions
- 51:27Speaker 2: have been about my moral compass, and a lot of
- 51:31Speaker 2: the laws don't necessarily reflect my moral compass, And to
- 51:38Speaker 2: try to put yourself out there to be better for
- 51:41Speaker 2: your community is a tough ass. And to ask them
- 51:47Speaker 2: to do it with little training, with little backing, with
- 51:53Speaker 2: a bunch of bullshit. Now not saying that they are
- 51:58Speaker 2: all angels, right, it is a I Am not going
- 52:02Speaker 2: to sit here and worship every fucking step they take.
- 52:05Speaker 2: They are also human, and because you've signed up to
- 52:09Speaker 2: be a cop, you are now held at a higher standard.
- 52:12Speaker 2: You should want to be held at a higher standard.
- 52:15Speaker 2: But you can't let the fact that your power in
- 52:19Speaker 2: your community could somehow fuck with your decision making. And
- 52:24Speaker 2: I think a lot of cops sometimes make the decision
- 52:27Speaker 2: because just because they can, not necessarily because.
- 52:31Speaker 1: It's what do you think about the whole Brandon Carbo
- 52:36Speaker 1: story and Officer McGowan, what's your take?
- 52:39Speaker 2: So here's my issue.
- 52:44Speaker 1: Can I put a disclaimer on the front of this?
- 52:46Speaker 1: My issue is opinions of Ed Collins are not necessarily.
- 52:51Speaker 2: Problem with anything I've said. Do not take it out
- 52:53Speaker 2: on JD. Find my face and try to take it
- 52:55Speaker 2: out on me. I'll defend everything I've said today. So
- 53:00Speaker 2: I thought is that I have been training martial arts
- 53:05Speaker 2: for almost a decade. I have been in countless live situations,
- 53:12Speaker 2: and any time I have thrown a punch at someone,
- 53:16Speaker 2: it is because my ego said punch that motherfucker in
- 53:20Speaker 2: the face. I'm sorry your ego got you in trouble.
- 53:25Speaker 2: I am My ego's got me in trouble countless times
- 53:28Speaker 2: in my life. And again it makes me want to
- 53:31Speaker 2: point the finger out and say, well, it was this,
- 53:34Speaker 2: it was that. But at the end of the day,
- 53:38Speaker 2: I need to honestly ask whose decision was it mine.
- 53:43Speaker 2: I made that decision and then I followed through on it,
- 53:47Speaker 2: and now I have to reap the consequences of my decision,
- 53:51Speaker 2: good or bad. Yep, you cannot complain about the bed
- 53:56Speaker 2: that you were lying in after making it.
- 54:02Speaker 1: Yeah, there's a There is so much that could be
- 54:09Speaker 1: said about this, and I think at.
- 54:11Speaker 2: Both sides of it. I understand wanting to fucking stand
- 54:15Speaker 2: up for yourself and absolutely put a whoop whooping on
- 54:20Speaker 2: someone who terrorized your community. Trust me, I fucking think
- 54:23Speaker 2: about it all of the time. That does not mean
- 54:26Speaker 2: that I get to go walk around my community and
- 54:29Speaker 2: put whoopings on all the people I deemed it.
- 54:35Speaker 1: But we also we also I think anyway, and I've
- 54:41Speaker 1: seen a lot of this on on social media, that
- 54:44Speaker 1: Officer McCowan is a human being and he absolutely there
- 54:50Speaker 1: are certain certain people like I like you. You just
- 54:53Speaker 1: alluded to that, certain people that certain officers have just
- 54:58Speaker 1: about had enough of dealing with.
- 55:02Speaker 2: And if I dealt with that dude for more than
- 55:04Speaker 2: two I've ran into him once. Yeah, and I was
- 55:07Speaker 2: walking with an earbud in with anybody, no fuck face,
- 55:11Speaker 2: I don't. Yeah, if I had to deal with that
- 55:14Speaker 2: guy over and over again, Yeah, I'm out making the
- 55:17Speaker 2: effort to take care of my family and community while
- 55:20Speaker 2: I watch someone not make the effort. That's what drives
- 55:25Speaker 2: me the most nuts is that every day every human
- 55:28Speaker 2: has the opportunity to be part of a community. You
- 55:31Speaker 2: have to wake up, be honest to the people around
- 55:33Speaker 2: you and go put the effort in and show everyone
- 55:35Speaker 2: that you are trying to do the right thing and
- 55:37Speaker 2: you are not trying to fuck them over.
- 55:39Speaker 1: Well said. I just met up with Brandon Carbo a
- 55:44Speaker 1: few days ago.
- 55:45Speaker 2: How was that?
- 55:46Speaker 1: And I had a conversation with him. I basically invited
- 55:54Speaker 1: him to come on the air here and to address
- 56:00Speaker 1: his community.
- 56:03Speaker 2: I'd be cool that if he did it. Honestly, if
- 56:06Speaker 2: he try to use your platform to manipulate you and
- 56:10Speaker 2: how you feel.
- 56:10Speaker 1: Yeah, but I would have a problem. I would make
- 56:13Speaker 1: sure that he wasn't taking advantage of the platform. But
- 56:17Speaker 1: I invited him to come in here and basically tell
- 56:20Speaker 1: his story. Yeah, you know, and he told me that
- 56:26Speaker 1: he would. He told me that he would be here Monday.
- 56:28Speaker 1: Today's Friday. He's been a no show.
- 56:31Speaker 2: And then you wonder why he's at where he's at
- 56:33Speaker 2: right exactly.
- 56:34Speaker 1: This is an opportunity for you to kind of come clean, uh,
- 56:38Speaker 1: you know, and he didn't take it. Go figure, So
- 56:44Speaker 1: you know, I'm not going to ask him twice if
- 56:47Speaker 1: he wants to come on the air. He knows where
- 56:48Speaker 1: the studio is. I invited him, and if he wants
- 56:51Speaker 1: to be on the air, he'll come on the air.
- 56:53Speaker 1: And if he wants to be here continue to be
- 56:55Speaker 1: a scumbag and you know, can continue to harass and
- 57:00Speaker 1: harm his community, then he will.
- 57:04Speaker 2: So here's what I've learned. Rex just hired a kid
- 57:06Speaker 2: named Maverick. Maverick's had trouble with drugs. He has kids,
- 57:12Speaker 2: and he is honestly put the effort in to get
- 57:16Speaker 2: away from drugs and to be there for his kids
- 57:20Speaker 2: and turn his life around. I do not mind helping
- 57:24Speaker 2: people who have made bad decisions. I only want to
- 57:28Speaker 2: help people who are making the effort to do the
- 57:32Speaker 2: right thing. And Brandon Carbo walking these streets asking people
- 57:37Speaker 2: for money is not putting the effort in. So why
- 57:40Speaker 2: the fuck should I take my effort and my money
- 57:43Speaker 2: and go help him? Why you have to put the
- 57:49Speaker 2: effort forward, and not a lot of people are willing to.
- 57:54Speaker 2: And if you're out fucking begging, you're obviously not out
- 57:58Speaker 2: putting the effort in.
- 58:00Speaker 1: Yesterday, reach in his pocket, pull out a pack of cigarettes.
- 58:04Speaker 2: Right, what are your priorities?
- 58:06Speaker 1: Thirteen bucks a pack?
- 58:08Speaker 2: What are your priorities? Because if it was doing good,
- 58:14Speaker 2: you wouldn't be wasting a fucking twenty dollars bill on
- 58:16Speaker 2: a pack of smokes. You can go. You're worried about
- 58:20Speaker 2: getting through the next day. It's a lot to untangle
- 58:26Speaker 2: your bullshit. I understand the fucking web it weaves, and
- 58:30Speaker 2: how easy it is to get caught in that web.
- 58:32Speaker 2: Oh yeah, if I didn't have Gilbert in my life
- 58:36Speaker 2: to call me on a lot of my shit, I
- 58:39Speaker 2: would still be walking around in ignorance. I'm the fucking man,
- 58:43Speaker 2: look at me. Yeah.
- 58:47Speaker 1: You know what's what's amazing is I've actually taken some
- 58:51Speaker 1: fire here in the past by saying on the air, look,
- 58:58Speaker 1: do something, it's your life. Be productive. A lot of
- 59:02Speaker 1: people and if ever see fire for JD. Not everybody
- 59:08Speaker 1: can do that. There's I'm like, dude, there's so many
- 59:11Speaker 1: fucking resources that are available to you to become a
- 59:15Speaker 1: better person or at least get started on that journey.
- 59:19Speaker 2: It is the easiest it has ever been to be successful.
- 59:23Speaker 2: Everyone is connected.
- 59:24Speaker 1: That's a quote.
- 59:25Speaker 2: Everyone is connected. You have the resources.
- 59:29Speaker 1: I'm writing that down. Say it again. It's the easiest, it's.
- 59:33Speaker 2: Ever the easiest. Sorry, it is the easiest it has
- 59:37Speaker 2: ever been, right now, to be successful. The problem with
- 59:41Speaker 2: that is it is the most easy. It is the
- 59:45Speaker 2: easiest time to be distracted. Yeah, right, So you need
- 59:50Speaker 2: to make the choice. Am I going to go out
- 59:52Speaker 2: and do the thing that I need to do because
- 59:54Speaker 2: I know I need to do it? Or am I
- 59:56Speaker 2: going to pull my phone out and am I going
- 59:57Speaker 2: to scroll through TikTok for four hours? There it is,
- 1:00:01Speaker 2: you have to want it. And yeah, that looks like
- 1:00:05Speaker 2: work a lot of days, And yeah, work isn't a
- 1:00:07Speaker 2: lot of fun a lot of days. But guess what,
- 1:00:10Speaker 2: that's the choice. Yeah, that is the choice.
- 1:00:17Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, and this is just not just Brandon Carbo,
- 1:00:23Speaker 1: this is every one of them.
- 1:00:24Speaker 2: This is there with a fucking sign fuck you times currency, right, Yeah,
- 1:00:34Speaker 2: why am I giving you my time for no effort?
- 1:00:39Speaker 2: No thank you. I'm putting in maximal effort. I'm trying
- 1:00:42Speaker 2: to be a max effort human and every aspect I'm
- 1:00:46Speaker 2: trying to love the max amount. I'm trying to build
- 1:00:49Speaker 2: the maxi amount. I am trying to get the most
- 1:00:52Speaker 2: I can out of this fucking life. So if you're
- 1:00:54Speaker 2: sitting there not doing the same, I have absolutely nothing
- 1:00:57Speaker 2: for you. Nothing.
- 1:01:05Speaker 1: We see it every day. We see it everywhere. We
- 1:01:08Speaker 1: see it at Price Chopper, we see it at the
- 1:01:11Speaker 1: junction by the hospital. We see it at the junction
- 1:01:14Speaker 1: up by Applebee's, we see it right here in Barry.
- 1:01:18Speaker 1: We see it everywhere.
- 1:01:19Speaker 2: But again, I don't feel bad because I understand the
- 1:01:21Speaker 2: effort it takes, and I understand the effort that I
- 1:01:24Speaker 2: am making every day, So I can't feel bad for you.
- 1:01:26Speaker 2: I understand it's hard. Ask me how I know I'm
- 1:01:29Speaker 2: out there fucking doing it.
- 1:01:34Speaker 1: And I've seen you, you know, and I've said to Rex,
- 1:01:37Speaker 1: I'm like Rex, my god, come on, buddy, these guys
- 1:01:40Speaker 1: are framing stuff outside. It's snowing out.
- 1:01:42Speaker 2: Dude, I used to climb pouring rain when it's freezing cold.
- 1:01:48Speaker 2: When you're in working for a company and you're just
- 1:01:50Speaker 2: a number, and guess what quota has to be met,
- 1:01:53Speaker 2: get the fuck out of the truck rock, Rex, at
- 1:01:55Speaker 2: least allow you to make the choice. Do you want
- 1:01:59Speaker 2: to go to work today? It is fucking miserable out.
- 1:02:01Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:02:01Speaker 2: And what I've learned about me is that if you
- 1:02:03Speaker 2: make it my choice, I will suffer immensely for you.
- 1:02:07Speaker 2: If you tell me I have to do anything, yeah,
- 1:02:10Speaker 2: O fuck yourself.
- 1:02:11Speaker 1: Oh interesting.
- 1:02:14Speaker 2: The only the reason why I really like get working
- 1:02:18Speaker 2: for Rex is that he allows that dynamic to happen.
- 1:02:21Speaker 2: At any point. If I am done with my day,
- 1:02:24Speaker 2: I can fucking how long?
- 1:02:26Speaker 1: How long do you think you would be able to
- 1:02:28Speaker 1: work with me on a construction site?
- 1:02:32Speaker 2: Again? How much effort are you willing to put in? Again?
- 1:02:35Speaker 2: I'm an effort dude. I don't care what your knowledge
- 1:02:37Speaker 2: level is, as long as you are spending your effort
- 1:02:40Speaker 2: trying to help me complete the task. I don't give
- 1:02:42Speaker 2: a fuck if you mess up a bunch of times.
- 1:02:45Speaker 2: That's humor. That's the shit that gets us through the day.
- 1:02:49Speaker 2: Thanks for doing that. That was kind of dumb. Yeah,
- 1:02:52Speaker 2: thanks for the laugh. Let's move on.
- 1:02:54Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:02:56Speaker 2: Wow, there's plenty of those people out there, but you
- 1:03:01Speaker 2: have to make an effort. That is the bottom line.
- 1:03:05Speaker 1: I want to ask you a question. And and Rex
- 1:03:08Speaker 1: is in here, so he has no way of defending himself.
- 1:03:11Speaker 2: I'll defend him.
- 1:03:14Speaker 3: Will you.
- 1:03:16Speaker 1: Come back and finish citing my house this summer?
- 1:03:20Speaker 2: Maybe? Maybe? Dude, I'm a busy guy. However, word, I.
- 1:03:30Speaker 1: Know you too, not to do my own h but
- 1:03:35Speaker 1: and like, can I say something else? I think it
- 1:03:39Speaker 1: was Benny that was over the house and Maverick, those
- 1:03:42Speaker 1: fucking guys. What they've done in my house, what they've done,
- 1:03:46Speaker 1: and it was a few other guys too, what they've
- 1:03:48Speaker 1: done to my bathroom, what they've done to my living room.
- 1:03:51Speaker 1: I have a new living room ceiling. I mean I
- 1:03:56Speaker 1: had a popcorn ceiling. Ed, who's got a popcorn seat?
- 1:04:00Speaker 3: Now?
- 1:04:00Speaker 1: I had to have that shit taken down.
- 1:04:02Speaker 2: Maverick's skill set is so much different than mine, and
- 1:04:07Speaker 2: he's respectful about it, so he is not the type
- 1:04:10Speaker 2: of kid to be like I know more than you.
- 1:04:11Speaker 2: We're doing it this way because I fucking said so,
- 1:04:14Speaker 2: oh yeah, he is very much. I like working with
- 1:04:18Speaker 2: people who make it a discussion. I at least want
- 1:04:20Speaker 2: to feel like I have had a choice in what
- 1:04:23Speaker 2: I'm doing today. I don't care if it was your
- 1:04:25Speaker 2: idea and I'm just like, yeah, that's a fucking great idea.
- 1:04:28Speaker 2: At least present it to the rest of us. Maverick
- 1:04:32Speaker 2: skill set and the way he brings and the way
- 1:04:35Speaker 2: he can communicate with another human has helped me professionally
- 1:04:39Speaker 2: a lot. He's got at carpet, he's good at finish. Yeah,
- 1:04:45Speaker 2: there's a there's a patience that's required. Kidder can't fake
- 1:04:49Speaker 2: that part.
- 1:04:50Speaker 1: Kidder is saying he's seen you on chop sites and
- 1:04:53Speaker 1: that you're a bull hell of a worker.
- 1:04:55Speaker 2: Fuck yeah, thank you. I try to be and I
- 1:04:58Speaker 2: want people to get their money's worth. When people see
- 1:05:00Speaker 2: me anywhere, I don't want them to.
- 1:05:02Speaker 1: Be like, oh, fuck that guy. It wants them to
- 1:05:04Speaker 1: be like that guy. Fuck yeah, you know you and
- 1:05:08Speaker 1: Chris Pearl, my god, you guys couldn't be any different.
- 1:05:12Speaker 1: He's he's so, he's quiet, he's kind of at a
- 1:05:15Speaker 1: little shy, but he's a good human he's a good human.
- 1:05:19Speaker 1: You guys work together all day, you're out freezing your
- 1:05:22Speaker 1: ass off you.
- 1:05:23Speaker 2: And then go to gym brother. Now his brother is
- 1:05:25Speaker 2: an incredible carpenter, and then incredible carpenter.
- 1:05:29Speaker 1: Then you guys go to the gym and beat the
- 1:05:31Speaker 1: ship out of each other after working with each other
- 1:05:33Speaker 1: all day.
- 1:05:34Speaker 2: But he's wrestled his entire life.
- 1:05:37Speaker 1: Can you wrestle him?
- 1:05:38Speaker 2: Fuck no, not a chance. But he's like his brother wrestled,
- 1:05:43Speaker 2: so he's used to like the grind with a loved
- 1:05:47Speaker 2: one and not taking that personally or taking it home
- 1:05:51Speaker 2: or bring it to the next spot.
- 1:05:53Speaker 1: Right.
- 1:05:54Speaker 2: I've never had an issue with that. I've spent a
- 1:05:56Speaker 2: lot of time around him.
- 1:05:57Speaker 1: Let me ask you, Chris Parolet versus Ed Collins bucks
- 1:06:03Speaker 1: me up ten times championship championship out of tight championship
- 1:06:10Speaker 1: belts on the line.
- 1:06:11Speaker 2: Who's gonna win ten out of ten times? Chris is
- 1:06:13Speaker 2: fucking me up? What? He's really good? Really good?
- 1:06:20Speaker 1: You wouldn't get in the catch with him for a belt?
- 1:06:22Speaker 2: I would. I love this fighting with Chris. It is
- 1:06:24Speaker 2: the most fun I've had inside of a gym is
- 1:06:27Speaker 2: fighting with that dude.
- 1:06:29Speaker 1: It is wildly entertaining, but you would do it for
- 1:06:31Speaker 1: the entertainment factor and not to win the belt. You
- 1:06:33Speaker 1: wouldn't win belt.
- 1:06:35Speaker 2: I want to do it because he's a great partner.
- 1:06:38Speaker 2: He is awesome at it. Yeah, and anything we're doing
- 1:06:42Speaker 2: is gonna help with my growth. Yeah, but do not
- 1:06:48Speaker 2: mistake when that if that dude wanted to walk into
- 1:06:51Speaker 2: a room and be like, I'm fucking sick of your ship.
- 1:06:54Speaker 1: What's your what's your your your weight and your height?
- 1:06:57Speaker 2: I amably six three and I am probably two forty
- 1:07:04Speaker 2: right now.
- 1:07:05Speaker 1: Okay, yeah, and I love it.
- 1:07:09Speaker 2: I had been eating non stop and when I look
- 1:07:12Speaker 2: at myself, fuck, yeah.
- 1:07:16Speaker 1: You you know that you would have a little bit
- 1:07:19Speaker 1: of a challenge if I came up behind you and
- 1:07:24Speaker 1: got you around the ankles, sure, because I would hold on.
- 1:07:28Speaker 1: I would hold on to your life. But I would
- 1:07:32Speaker 1: hold on, and I think at some point it would
- 1:07:35Speaker 1: probably throw off your balance and drop you like a
- 1:07:38Speaker 1: fucking tree. No, I think if I could, if I
- 1:07:42Speaker 1: could get.
- 1:07:42Speaker 2: Dude, if you grab my ankles, I would fall over, laughing,
- 1:07:45Speaker 2: what the fuck are you doing down there?
- 1:07:47Speaker 1: Because i'd I would throw your your your equilibrium off,
- 1:07:51Speaker 1: you'd go down. But I'm just telling it's gonna happen
- 1:07:55Speaker 1: one of these days. Watch your back.
- 1:07:57Speaker 2: If you tabletopped me, if you have andy push me
- 1:08:01Speaker 2: while tabletopping me. That's a core moment, man, I'll fucking
- 1:08:11Speaker 2: hold on of that forever. You gotta do it now,
- 1:08:16Speaker 2: you gotta do it.
- 1:08:17Speaker 1: I just if I can catch you off guard, that's
- 1:08:20Speaker 1: my thing. I got to come in one hundred miles
- 1:08:22Speaker 1: an hour, bang right around the back of the knee
- 1:08:25Speaker 1: on the ankle.
- 1:08:26Speaker 2: Pretty easy to catch off guard.
- 1:08:29Speaker 1: Are you going to be in back in the Are
- 1:08:31Speaker 1: you going to be up at a battle in barry?
- 1:08:32Speaker 1: Are you going to be in the cage?
- 1:08:34Speaker 2: Not anytime soon. I have chose my home, okay, And
- 1:08:39Speaker 2: it is the most happy I've been with my life
- 1:08:42Speaker 2: right now because I put Gilbert first. And it's a
- 1:08:51Speaker 2: lot of fun when a human feels comfortable enough with
- 1:08:54Speaker 2: you to talk about the ship that fucked them up
- 1:08:56Speaker 2: as a human. Yeah, and how they're still holding on
- 1:08:59Speaker 2: to it in the relationships that they have with people,
- 1:09:02Speaker 2: and how it still affects them. That's what it's about.
- 1:09:05Speaker 2: We're just trying to help each other get through our
- 1:09:07Speaker 2: own bullshit. So when you lie about it and you're
- 1:09:10Speaker 2: not honest and you don't want to talk about it,
- 1:09:13Speaker 2: how can we help you as people? I understand that
- 1:09:19Speaker 2: it's shitty work and it hurts a lot, and you're
- 1:09:21Speaker 2: probably gonna cry a lot. I fucking get it, But
- 1:09:26Speaker 2: ask me how I know by sitting there, being honest
- 1:09:29Speaker 2: with myself and fucking crying a lot about it, you've
- 1:09:32Speaker 2: been a terrible human.
- 1:09:34Speaker 1: We need to fix that is So, what is something
- 1:09:37Speaker 1: that before I ask you this question? What do you
- 1:09:44Speaker 1: think of the people that say, if I could go
- 1:09:49Speaker 1: back and live my life all over again, I wouldn't
- 1:09:52Speaker 1: change a thing. I regret nothing. Do you feel that way?
- 1:09:59Speaker 2: You? I feel like I am very guided and life's
- 1:10:04Speaker 2: supposed to happen to us. We're supposed to be going
- 1:10:06Speaker 2: through this shit. We're supposed to feel it all.
- 1:10:09Speaker 1: That's deep, man, you know, and I've I've heard many
- 1:10:12Speaker 1: people say that. But I have to be honest with you.
- 1:10:15Speaker 1: If I'll just be, I'll be honest with everyone. If
- 1:10:19Speaker 1: if I could go live my life over again, there's
- 1:10:22Speaker 1: a few changes that I would have made. Yes, there
- 1:10:25Speaker 1: are within even within the last couple of years, that
- 1:10:31Speaker 1: you get that.
- 1:10:33Speaker 2: I've fucked up a lot.
- 1:10:35Speaker 1: Knowing now what I know. Yeah, but you don't.
- 1:10:41Speaker 2: Do you get that? Do you get to go back
- 1:10:42Speaker 2: with your knowledge? Now?
- 1:10:44Speaker 1: I don't.
- 1:10:45Speaker 2: Then how do you know you're going to make any
- 1:10:47Speaker 2: choice different?
- 1:10:48Speaker 1: True? Good point? Good point.
- 1:10:51Speaker 2: Your choices have made you. Whether you can like your
- 1:10:54Speaker 2: choices or not, they have made you, and you have
- 1:10:57Speaker 2: to accept that. You have to accept the bad in
- 1:10:59Speaker 2: you to give any of the good credit. You have
- 1:11:03Speaker 2: to accept your own shitty behavior.
- 1:11:05Speaker 1: Right or just bad choices that you pay too. Yeah?
- 1:11:09Speaker 2: Again? Accountability? Yeah, do you have any fucking shred of
- 1:11:13Speaker 2: accountability inside of you? Can you have that hard conversation
- 1:11:16Speaker 2: with yourself? Not a lot of people can?
- 1:11:19Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 1:11:19Speaker 2: Let alone talk about it with anyone else? Yeah? Right?
- 1:11:24Speaker 1: Nothing that you would do differently though, if you could
- 1:11:28Speaker 1: go through your life again.
- 1:11:32Speaker 3: Again.
- 1:11:33Speaker 2: I feel like I am a sum of the experience
- 1:11:37Speaker 2: and choices that I have been through, and right now
- 1:11:40Speaker 2: in my life I like me the most. Wow, And
- 1:11:44Speaker 2: I don't want to change that. I've done a lot
- 1:11:48Speaker 2: of terrible things, but I've also had to give myself
- 1:11:52Speaker 2: the space and attempt to forgive myself and turn the
- 1:11:57Speaker 2: conversation between my ears into something positive instead of running
- 1:12:02Speaker 2: myself into the ground. Over and over. Bro.
- 1:12:07Speaker 1: If you checked out with us later today and that
- 1:12:09Speaker 1: was the last thing that you said, it wouldn't get
- 1:12:16Speaker 1: any better. I mean, that's uh, that's that's it right there.
- 1:12:20Speaker 1: Damn good for you for saying that. For you, you know,
- 1:12:27Speaker 1: Rex was like a big Ed's coming on with you tomorrow. Man,
- 1:12:30Speaker 1: buckle up, bro. You you are such a and I
- 1:12:35Speaker 1: know you as the fighter, and I know your big
- 1:12:37Speaker 1: Ed Collins and the zip zipity do dot a, but
- 1:12:40Speaker 1: you're you really are such an insightful motherfucker.
- 1:12:44Speaker 2: You.
- 1:12:45Speaker 1: You you bring a an awareness and understanding to a
- 1:12:51Speaker 1: lot of stuff that I frankly I wish we were
- 1:12:53Speaker 1: pushing more on this podcast.
- 1:12:55Speaker 2: I want to succeed in life, and I know the
- 1:12:58Speaker 2: way that I do that is through what m Yeah.
- 1:13:05Speaker 1: Wow. And meanwhile, you know we got fucking Rodney No
- 1:13:11Speaker 1: Acts saying that you would kill me while I'm sleeping.
- 1:13:14Speaker 2: No way, I'm in my peace and love stage. It's
- 1:13:22Speaker 2: been weird, but it's been fun. Yeah. When you're when
- 1:13:26Speaker 2: you trained to fist fight, you have to be in
- 1:13:29Speaker 2: a mindset of I'm going to fight every day. Yeah,
- 1:13:33Speaker 2: And even if you are not fighting every day, you
- 1:13:37Speaker 2: will find shit to fight about Yeah, whether you know
- 1:13:41Speaker 2: it or not.
- 1:13:42Speaker 1: More of us, uh need to.
- 1:13:47Speaker 2: Not be.
- 1:13:48Speaker 1: Ah hm quietly fighting.
- 1:13:53Speaker 2: We need to half of the community.
- 1:13:56Speaker 1: Yeah, half a voice.
- 1:13:57Speaker 2: Life's hard.
- 1:13:58Speaker 1: You need people around, don't just you know, so many
- 1:14:02Speaker 1: of us sit home and just fester. We just sit
- 1:14:06Speaker 1: there and we got spin spinding, spinning.
- 1:14:09Speaker 2: The problem is that what happens when you go to
- 1:14:12Speaker 2: therapy twice a week, Well, you purge. Fore you spend
- 1:14:19Speaker 2: two days of your week bringing up all of the
- 1:14:22Speaker 2: bad in your life and you're talking about it. You're
- 1:14:24Speaker 2: not necessarily resolving things, so all you're doing is revolving
- 1:14:29Speaker 2: on the negative ship that has happened to you. You
- 1:14:31Speaker 2: need to change the way you think. Wow, Gratitude is
- 1:14:35Speaker 2: the attitude. You need to figure out the ship that
- 1:14:38Speaker 2: you were grateful, grateful for in this life, damn fella.
- 1:14:41Speaker 2: And you need to like hold on to that, the
- 1:14:45Speaker 2: ship you appreciate. That's how you get through it. If
- 1:14:49Speaker 2: there's a lot of bad to look for, Yeah, why
- 1:14:54Speaker 2: would you want to spend all of your time looking
- 1:14:56Speaker 2: for the bad? Oh and here's another bad thing?
- 1:14:59Speaker 1: Fuck that? Yeah, yeah, I believe me. You know I've
- 1:15:06Speaker 1: done it too. I think many of us have, but
- 1:15:11Speaker 1: we need to just take a take a step back,
- 1:15:16Speaker 1: take a deep breath. So and rewatch this podcast.
- 1:15:20Speaker 2: Within the last year, this this has been my biggest
- 1:15:25Speaker 2: thing in the last year, is that if anything bad
- 1:15:28Speaker 2: would happen to me, I would spiral. I would spiral
- 1:15:32Speaker 2: on the event. I would replay it. I would replay
- 1:15:35Speaker 2: what I said. I would replay what they said.
- 1:15:37Speaker 1: A little closer to Mike so we can hear you.
- 1:15:38Speaker 2: I would bring all of I would run through that
- 1:15:42Speaker 2: scenario ninety times.
- 1:15:44Speaker 3: I would be.
- 1:15:46Speaker 2: So far away from the room that I'm in, delving
- 1:15:49Speaker 2: into the scenarios that I'm making up in my mind.
- 1:15:52Speaker 2: There would be no chance you can have a conversation
- 1:15:54Speaker 2: with me. There would be no chance you could like
- 1:15:56Speaker 2: get me to do anything. I was not present. The
- 1:16:00Speaker 2: thing that has helped me a lot is being grateful
- 1:16:03Speaker 2: for the people in my life and that maybe not
- 1:16:08Speaker 2: everything bad happen happening to me is bad. So maybe
- 1:16:14Speaker 2: I should stop treating everything is the worst thing that's happened.
- 1:16:18Speaker 2: Maybe I should stop worrying about the shit that's happening.
- 1:16:22Speaker 2: Maybe I need to worry about how I am interacting
- 1:16:25Speaker 2: with the shit that is happening. To me, at some point,
- 1:16:29Speaker 2: I need to control my attitude. I need to control
- 1:16:32Speaker 2: my demeanor. I need to control how I interact with
- 1:16:34Speaker 2: this shit so I have a positive experience. Not that
- 1:16:37Speaker 2: necessarily all of it's gonna be positive. This is not
- 1:16:42Speaker 2: a fairy tale. One of the time, it is not
- 1:16:45Speaker 2: gonna be going well.
- 1:16:51Speaker 1: Spot on, brother, Damn, You're gonna come back in here
- 1:16:58Speaker 1: with sure with Rex one of these days, for sure. Okay, jeez, dude,
- 1:17:06Speaker 1: I love having you on.
- 1:17:07Speaker 2: Man. So my only problem with talking with Rex like
- 1:17:10Speaker 2: this is that Rex loves talking about politics.
- 1:17:13Speaker 1: Yeah, he does.
- 1:17:14Speaker 2: He loves it. I understand his fear and what he
- 1:17:18Speaker 2: is trying to accomplish by saying something, But goddamn, dude,
- 1:17:23Speaker 2: I do not want to talk about policies.
- 1:17:24Speaker 1: Well then we won't. Does Rex like your Does he
- 1:17:27Speaker 1: like your tattoos on your legs?
- 1:17:29Speaker 3: Maybe?
- 1:17:30Speaker 1: I hope Rex likes Have you ever seen my legs?
- 1:17:33Speaker 1: Have you ever seen me in shorts? I'm not wearing
- 1:17:36Speaker 1: shorts right now, man, That's not just my underwear. But
- 1:17:40Speaker 1: have you have you ever seen me? You've ever seen
- 1:17:43Speaker 1: my legs?
- 1:17:44Speaker 2: We should do that so you got a good set
- 1:17:46Speaker 2: of legs.
- 1:17:46Speaker 1: Do you want to.
- 1:17:48Speaker 2: Leg.
- 1:17:49Speaker 1: I'm just saying, at some point you should have a
- 1:17:53Speaker 1: look at them. That's all I'm saying.
- 1:17:55Speaker 2: Are they ugly?
- 1:17:56Speaker 1: You might very much like them. Okay, I'm just saying.
- 1:18:02Speaker 1: I'm just being honest with you. Dude. Love having you
- 1:18:06Speaker 1: in here. Show everyone your beautiful feet. Please show the camera.
- 1:18:10Speaker 2: Hold on, hold on, you guys gotta see this.
- 1:18:13Speaker 1: This is fun right there.
- 1:18:14Speaker 2: So when I was thirteen, I kicked a chair when
- 1:18:17Speaker 2: I was walking upstairs. So look at that pekky looks
- 1:18:20Speaker 2: pretty straight, right, You see how twisted that thing is.
- 1:18:31Speaker 3: Those are my piggiestattattatt.
- 1:20:00Speaker 2: To the stattatt.
- 1:20:17Speaker 3: The state, to Stetts, the.
- 1:20:31Speaker 1: Stato, the
- 1:20:38Speaker 2: Statto
