- 30:45of Wrigley's Spearmint Chewing Gum again bring you the lineup. Hey, I have
- 30:52your attention. Please you people out there on the other side of the wire
- 30:55in the audience room, man have your attention. Please Thank you Van Is
- 31:00Corger Sergeant Pete Coger. I'll explain the lineup to you. Each of the
- 31:03suspects you will see will be numbered all off and number their name and chart.
- 31:07You have any questions or identifications, please remember the number of signed to
- 31:11the prisoners. I call his name the end of each line. When I
- 31:14ask for questions or identifications, call out the number if you're sure, I'm
- 31:18sure. The lineup, starring Bill Johnstone as Lieutenant Ben Guthrie with Jack Moyles
- 31:33the Sergeant Pete Carger, was written by E Jack Newman with music by Eddie
- 31:37Dunsteader. Featured in the night's cast were High Averbach, Peter Leeds, John
- 31:41McIntyre, Howard mcneer, Herb Butterfield, Joe Devall and Benny Rubin. The
- 31:47lineup was transcribed in Hollywood by Hi Made d'vaier, uncoverly speaking, this is
- 32:00the CBS Radio Network, welcome back. Well. I thought that closing line
- 32:08where the criminal was asking let me see my car, and of course there
- 32:14was some irony here in that. Well, this wasn't actually his car was
- 32:17never going to be and it does show kind of the folly of the greed
- 32:23of the criminal who actually made to obtain material things which while in the end
- 32:31he may very well end up not getting to enjoy. Well. This definitely
- 32:37does include our conclude our look at the lineup for now. As with the
- 32:43Lineup and all other series where there are missing episodes, we're always on the
- 32:46lookout for more. That's why next week we will actually bring you the two
- 32:53episodes of Police Headquarters that we were not available when we our first run through
- 33:00the series about a year or so ago. So be sure and listen next
- 33:06Tuesday for Police Headquarters. Well, now we turn to some listener comments and
- 33:12feedback, and this comes from Clay, who writes one, after hearing the
- 33:22Brown Mysteries on your show, I came across some novels in an antique store.
- 33:27They had suitably risque covers and read like the pleasant pulp fiction novels I
- 33:31expected. I then gave them to my father in law, along with a
- 33:36flash straw full of old Carter Brown programs. He's also a fan of old
- 33:40time radio, though I've yet to get him hooked on your program, and
- 33:45he says two and I know this is also reaching back a bit. I
- 33:49love the series that was about various scams. I love mysteries, but the
- 33:52whole murder of the Weak trope is extremely well worn. Whenever there's a show
- 33:59about a mission and it's not about murder, it's refreshingly different. This leads
- 34:04me to three, which is that I was excited to hear that more episodes
- 34:08of a series had been discovered, but was sad when I found out it
- 34:13was the line up. I'll still listen, but the repetitive dialogue comblined with
- 34:16the weekly browbeating scene where they never express any doubt that they're abusing the correct
- 34:23suspect, well, it can make me yearn for the unpredictability of Pat Novak
- 34:28for hire. Regardless, keep up the work, good work. I've been
- 34:31listening for a couple of years now and the podcast is almost always my first
- 34:37choice when going for a walk, doing dishes, or any other activity where
- 34:40my mind is free but my body is not. Clay Well, thanks so
- 34:45much, cloud F and l A to appreciate your comments, and I'm sorry
- 34:49that you did like the first dispatch of lost episodes, but we definitely are
- 34:59on the lookout for us others, including for Easy Money. We love that
- 35:02series. I think that with Murder it's it's been one of those things.
- 35:10Uh. The author of the file Advance Mysteries, he was of the opinion
- 35:20that any stake less than murder, you know, wasn't going to be interesting.
- 35:23But I've certainly heard, read, and seeing, you know, quite
- 35:28a few tales where murder wasn't involved, but it was still in a very
- 35:32interesting mystery. Uh. So we keep our lookout for all kinds, but
- 35:38murder definitely does tend to dominate the genre. Uh. Finally, we have
- 35:45a comment for from Joel, who says, I'm happy that you are playing
- 35:50another round of this wonderful program. Regarding the lineup, I enjoyed the matter
- 35:55of fact procedural combined with drama and human interest. The shows are well written,
- 36:01acted in stage your podcast to become a daily steeple of my bedtime.
- 36:07I also really enjoy your commentaries. Thank you so much for a great source
- 36:10of entertainment. Well, thanks so much, Joel, And that will conclude
- 36:15this week's episode and our run through the lineup. We're, as I said,
- 36:22we're always on the lookout for more, and the lineup is one of
- 36:24those series which is always taking shape, so I'm hopeful that we'll have an
- 36:31opportunity to revisit this series sometime in the future. All right, well,
- 36:37if you do have a comment, send it to me Box thirteen at Great
