- 0:07Hello and welcome to Brothers Graphers episode 14 as we take a
- 0:15look back at last weekend in Liverpool at the Fusion
- 0:20Nightclub for TNT Extreme Wrestling where we had TNT
- 0:28Ignition No Limits 2025 followed with the not so friendly show of
- 0:38TNT Cold Day in Hell but I am not going to be hosting this
- 0:45alone. We have back on the show Miles
- 0:49Smith who almost seems to be my regular Co host at this point.
- 0:56Most of the time, yeah. We'll, we'll say most of the
- 0:58time, yeah. It's all almost my kind of
- 1:04husband or wife on this show, depending how how you want to
- 1:09play it. How are you anyhow?
- 1:14I'm not too bad. It's.
- 1:16Always good to hear. Unsurprisingly, I am tired,
- 1:21which will not surprise people, and I have a burnt tongue from
- 1:28woofing down food, so this could be fun.
- 1:33That all said, let's get into what happened last weekend.
- 1:40As I said, we had a double bill of action coming from TNT.
- 1:48Match number one on the No Limit card was Tommy Tanner Aye Aye
- 1:56taking on Nay J. The boy.
- 2:03I'm going to come back to Nay Jane in a wee little bit, but
- 2:09what was your take on this opening match?
- 2:12I really enjoyed this. This was the first time I've got
- 2:16an eye on Tommy Tanner. I enjoyed this guy.
- 2:20Very, very athletic. I will say he's got one of the
- 2:24nicest drop kicks I've ever seen.
- 2:27Yes, I I will agree with that. The only thing I was a bit let
- 2:35down on with Tommy this time he didn't have his fat willies surf
- 2:41shack gear with him. It was close.
- 2:45He did have his neon gear with him, but he he didn't have the
- 2:52the gear he had last time, which I quite liked.
- 2:55I've. Not seen what he had.
- 2:58Oh, I'll. I'll try and get a photo and
- 3:01I'll send it you. It wasn't too dissimilar from
- 3:03what he had on, but there was more kind of neon always I've
- 3:11got for an opening match. This was a really fun opener
- 3:18like you've just said 2 two young stars, both kind of
- 3:24showing what they can do both getting some decent offence in I
- 3:34I was joking with the group chat wrestling friends that I've got
- 3:40that every time you ever hear Aye Aye coming from Tommy
- 3:44Tanner, take a drink and you will be on your back inside 2
- 3:51minutes because he does like to say that quite a lot.
- 3:59But this as I say, fun little opening match went 9 minutes and
- 4:0555 did not really seem to go as I say 10 minutes.
- 4:14It felt it felt a lot shorter than 10 minutes, but for what
- 4:20they did a lot went into it and it was a really good match.
- 4:26I won't give out of fives as after I did last week so I'll
- 4:32I'll leave that there. But Tommy Tanner wins with a
- 4:37Swanton on Naji off the top rope to I think that makes him two
- 4:45wins in a row now at TNT so he is on a roll.
- 4:54This could be an interesting one.
- 4:58Match #2 saw Bullet taking on Liam McCarthy.
- 5:06What? What was your view of this one?
- 5:10First time seeing McCarthy but I don't know, he did not have a
- 5:16good debut. No bullet carried this match.
- 5:21I think anyone, well, we kind of mentioned it a fair few times of
- 5:30McAfee kind of looked gassed after about two minutes of this
- 5:34match. Bullet was doing a lot of the
- 5:38heavy the heavy work in this contest.
- 5:46We'll, we'll put it down to a bad day in the office, but he,
- 5:52McAfee didn't particularly come to play or have his A game with
- 5:57him. It was a very, very sloppy
- 6:02match. A lot of moves that should have
- 6:07hit did not get hit cleanly. Some offence that bullet was
- 6:15hitting on McAfee did not seem to particularly be sold.
- 6:20Well, I know he's supposed to be the monster McCarthy and bullets
- 6:28an equally big guy himself. But yeah, this this is 1 you
- 6:35kind of chop down to experience and you and you move on.
- 6:42It's our bullet winning in 7 minutes and 47 to to be as nice
- 6:51as we can with this. It was a variation of a pop up
- 6:55powerbomb. Yeah, McAfee looked like he
- 6:59struggled to get up high enough. It, it wasn't, it wasn't a good
- 7:07match, but Bullock's face looking in the looking into kind
- 7:14of what the, the glass on the stage side.
- 7:19I, I think if you're able to see his face, you it told its own
- 7:26story. He was not a happy man.
- 7:29And I get the feeling that could have been words because it, it
- 7:37was a, it was probably what you call a shitter.
- 7:43But again we we will say it was an off day match #3 saw Lally
- 7:52that being Holly Barlow and Lana Austin they took on Sky Moff
- 7:59which was the combination of Lucy, Sky and Session Moff
- 8:04Martina. This was pretty much
- 8:09consequences of the last show in September when it saw Lana
- 8:16Austin defeating Session Moff Martina with the help of Lana's
- 8:26bestest friend in the whole wide world.
- 8:30Our Holly likes to think that way at least and ended up with
- 8:35Lucy Skye trying to make the save by Martina.
- 8:39And of course we ended up with this tag team match.
- 8:46What was What was your take on this one?
- 8:50Fun tag team match. It was nice seeing Lucy and
- 8:53Session Moth tag together considering they faced each of
- 8:56us so many times. It gave off Sky and Martine are
- 9:03at the beginning very much rock and mankind kind of rock and
- 9:08sock early days vibes to me. Sky, who just had a look of what
- 9:16am I doing teaming with you just seemingly not wanting to.
- 9:22Martina just being kind of fun loving as she is.
- 9:28But I'll say they did work well together when they when they had
- 9:32to. This felt kind of more of a
- 9:38always half. It was half a serious match,
- 9:42half a comedic match, I felt, yeah.
- 9:45It was half and half. Yeah, we've with Polly
- 9:49effectively just having a go at the crowd and just she is what I
- 9:55described on Saturday, the Scrappy Doo of British
- 10:00wrestling, because she doesn't know how small she is, but she
- 10:09she's prepared to fight whoever. And Lana just kind of feels like
- 10:17she's trying to control Hollin calm down half the time because
- 10:22we all know Barlow is a little live wire.
- 10:27Yeah, this this was a really fun contest, Lally defeating Sky
- 10:34Moff in a time of 9 minutes and 10 seconds with a Barlow
- 10:41Stunner, which did not get all of it, did Holly?
- 10:47But she got enough to get the 123.
- 10:57It was. I'd say it was arguably one of
- 11:00the the better matches on the card.
- 11:04Yeah, it kind of did. It did its job.
- 11:09And if you kind of look back at it now, having Lana and Lucy
- 11:16fighting on the outside in the lead up to this, it did feel
- 11:21like they were building a bit towards Lana and Lucy for a
- 11:26future title match, which could still happen down the road, but
- 11:34that we may have hit a roadblock on that particular thing.
- 11:41You'll know why later. Match number 4 was a four way
- 11:49match with Liam Carr, Denzel Mack, Ian Skinner and Mickey
- 11:57Barnes. What was your take away from
- 12:00this? I love this match.
- 12:03This match. This was fun.
- 12:05This was a lot, a lot of fun. Like this opening bit of the
- 12:09match where Ian Skinner's trying to like, get Mickey Barnes, like
- 12:14Denzel Mack to team up against, like Liam Carr, and they all
- 12:18just turn on him. Brilliant.
- 12:20Like the picture I got where Ian's just in the middle of
- 12:24like, Liam Carr and Mickey Barnes.
- 12:27He's just like sat on the floor and he's just in like an
- 12:30absolute bad spot and it's just brilliant.
- 12:37It's it was a thing of we, we saw Denzel Mack making his debut
- 12:43back in September against Tommy Tanner in what was a decent
- 12:49contest. So it was interesting to see
- 12:53what Mack could do. Liam Carr has become this kind
- 13:00of more vicious side that he's developed in recent months,
- 13:07especially his win over Lewis Johnson last time out.
- 13:13Mickey Barnes is kind of just Mickey Barnes really.
- 13:17You know what you're going to get Just a powerhouse, but has
- 13:28comedy value, but not particularly trying to be funny.
- 13:34He's just got this horror about him and of course you've got Ian
- 13:40Skinner, who if you know Ian is, you just don't trust Ian, I
- 13:48think it's fair to say because you know you're going to get bit
- 13:55eventually by him. But this match went 9 minutes
- 14:02and 31 did not feel like it was 9 minutes and 31.
- 14:11There was a lot that actually happened in this to be fair.
- 14:16Skinner trying everything to get everyone to do his dirty work
- 14:21for him and then when he tried to capitalise he couldn't.
- 14:28And we had a nice spot where Skinner had Mac and Liam Carr in
- 14:36two separate submission holds but however found himself
- 14:43trapped because he had car in AI think it was a leg lock.
- 14:49Had Mac in a submit. I think it was like a neck hold
- 14:56and Barnes just kind of like rotted round.
- 15:01Just looked at Ian, just thought what are you doing?
- 15:05And Skinner's eyes almost popped out of his head.
- 15:12Ended up with Barnes giving I'm traffic.
- 15:14Did he chop Skinner? He just punched him in the
- 15:18cheek, yeah. Stiffed him so he hit him, which
- 15:22ended up with Mac taking a like a spinning net breaker and car
- 15:30just getting more pain and in getting more pain.
- 15:37It was a great spot. To be fair.
- 15:38I've I haven't done that justice, but it was a great
- 15:42spot. But yeah, 9 minutes and 31.
- 15:48What was? What was your view of things?
- 15:54I've had a lot of fun watching this match.
- 15:57The spot where Mickey Barnes gets trapped in the rope and
- 15:59they're all doing the Super kicks on him, that was loads of
- 16:03fun. Just Mickey Barnes, he just has
- 16:07something about him. A lot of people have been saying
- 16:10it for a while now. He's very underrated and it's
- 16:13about time that he's getting booked on more shows.
- 16:16Considering he's been wrestling for such a long time, I'm
- 16:20shocked that he's not getting booked in many places like this
- 16:24guy is. He is money.
- 16:28I don't know why many places aren't bucking him.
- 16:31He buck him on a show he can get good heat.
- 16:35He's a good character, like what's not to love?
- 16:41It was a thing of I'd heard his name mentioned often on the
- 16:46Dammit Vacant podcast when he they travel to like OPW and I've
- 16:53always heard kind of like good things about him.
- 16:57It wasn't until the last TNT show when he took on it was
- 17:03bullet, wasn't it? It took on bullet and from that
- 17:07point on I've seen him at a couple of shows.
- 17:10GPW is another and I've come away from every show that he's
- 17:16been on having his match being either my favourite one of the
- 17:24show or the second best match on the show.
- 17:29It it just shows how much kind of like he's, he's an I think
- 17:35he's an asset to any show that he appears on.
- 17:40He might not do a whole lot, but the phrase less is more with
- 17:45Barnes is definitely a good selling point from him because
- 17:51he doesn't have to do a whole lot.
- 17:53He can taunt the crowd. He can basically just get
- 17:57chicken fried rice shouted at him.
- 18:02He's he's like an old, a really old school villain, which you
- 18:09don't get these days on British shows.
- 18:14Because I think more heels tend tend to want to be kind of like
- 18:18the either the the cool heel or they want to be kind of like
- 18:24the, the likeable heel. Whereas Barnes just no, he comes
- 18:31out, he gets the crowd to Boo him.
- 18:35He feeds off it and that's it. It's it's what you want.
- 18:40So it's like you say, book Mickey Barnes on more shows,
- 18:45please, because he's great. The match itself saw Liam Carr
- 18:54hitting the Scouse lariat on Ian Skinner to pick up the victory.
- 19:01So and a time of 9 minutes and 31.
- 19:05As I have already said, yeah, this, I would probably say this
- 19:12was much of the show out of yeah, anything we saw on the in
- 19:19the afternoon, that was by far much of the match of the show.
- 19:24Brilliant match. The penultimate match of the
- 19:29first show, I saw Lewis Johnson going up against the Turkish
- 19:35wolf Sona Derson. I didn't see a whole lot of
- 19:40this, if I'm being honest, because I was helping out with a
- 19:46couple, with a couple of friends because we we had mobile phone
- 19:51problems. So I didn't see a whole lot of
- 19:55this. So I will be.
- 19:58So I don't know if you, I take it you some, well you would have
- 20:01saw more of this than that. You caught the full match.
- 20:05But from what I saw at least it looked a hard hitting contest.
- 20:11Yeah, this was a good, great match.
- 20:16And see Derson I haven't saw too much of, but whenever I have I
- 20:23have been impressed with him. Johnson has grown on me from the
- 20:29first couple of shows I saw when he was on like Atomic or they
- 20:36might have been off the page. But all the time I've kind of
- 20:44I've warmed to Johnson and I actually enjoy watching like
- 20:48when I see him more now because I don't think he was doing a
- 20:52whole lot on the first couple of times I saw him.
- 20:58So I'm beginning to see more of what Johnson's about.
- 21:05But as I mean having seen him last time out against Lewis,
- 21:11Lewis, Carr, Liam Carr, that two out of three falls match was
- 21:17brutal in the best sense possible back in September and
- 21:25whenever I was watching this match it just seemed to be in
- 21:29the same vein of him just dishing out Painted Derson
- 21:35Derson fighting back. But unfortunately for him, he
- 21:41came up against a cross face from Johnson and saw him
- 21:46chalking up the win at 11:37. So wasn't that a bad contest
- 21:58from what I saw? I enjoyed it.
- 22:02So it was a great technical match.
- 22:05Yeah, I've heard. A couple people since and say it
- 22:08was a It was a fun little technical encounter but seeing
- 22:13it is 1137 don't really know how you can call that little because
- 22:18it was the longest match on the card.
- 22:23Which brings us to the main event of No Limit.
- 22:29And so, a freeway battle for the TNT Ignition title, with Rampage
- 22:38Brown taking on the former holder in MVK and the current
- 22:46champion in Kritchie. I'll let you have first go on
- 22:53this. So Kritchie starts off the
- 22:58match. He tried, I think he tried to
- 23:00get was it a cheap shot on MVKI? Can't remember how the match
- 23:05started but I think Kritchie was like bold so that he had the
- 23:09title. So it started off with MVK and
- 23:15Rampage Brown still kind of not finished from their last battle
- 23:22in September. They had like a little stare
- 23:23down, didn't they? So they had a stare down.
- 23:27So they just kind of trash talked.
- 23:31Richie did not like this, obviously got in between the two
- 23:35when in truth it probably would have been best not to get
- 23:39involved, but then called them both out for disrespecting the
- 23:44the new champion and I think it ended up with him either being
- 23:51chopped by both or something. Something occurred and it we got
- 23:56another stare down between MVK and Rampage.
- 24:01Critchie for the first portion of the match seemed to just be
- 24:06on the outside because it seemed like they just.
- 24:11It almost came across as they didn't want Critchie involved in
- 24:15the decision. They wanted to continue to fight
- 24:19out and slug it out like they did last time because the last
- 24:25time it saw Rampage Brown after losing to MVK giving.
- 24:32I think it was about two or three pile drivers which led to
- 24:38Kritsche being opportunistic, a word I could not say last week
- 24:43on the Barbed Wire podcast that I helped out with.
- 24:48Kritsche came in, cashed in his briefcase, ended up winning the
- 24:54ignition title, and so set up this freeway battle.
- 25:03I will say this though, Kritsche gave a really good account of
- 25:07himself even though he's champion against the likes of
- 25:13MVK and Rampage Brown who outweigh him by a fair few
- 25:22couple 100 he it's the first time I've actually it's it is
- 25:31weird for me. I will say this, seeing Critchie
- 25:35being a a good guy on shows, because every other show I see
- 25:43him on, he's always kind of like the heel.
- 25:47So it's really weird to see Critchie being cheered by a
- 25:51crowd. But we had we had Tom McCall
- 25:57that was down at ringside. We kind of thought was he going
- 26:01to get involved in the contest? Well, he didn't inject him in
- 26:07himself in the match. He was dragged into it because
- 26:11we had MVK beating up Tom, showing him a seat on the front
- 26:17row, then saw him being thrown into the ring by MVK and
- 26:23hitting. I wanted to say it was like a
- 26:25Death Valley driver or. Yeah, it was like a Death Valley
- 26:28driver, and then Tom's just literally out for the rest of
- 26:31the match. Yeah, Tom got took away in the
- 26:34back. Critchie saw what had happened,
- 26:38tried to take up the baton for FTM.
- 26:45They saw Critchie kind of really being fired up on in this.
- 26:51Look like this is kind of where you felt, right?
- 26:54This is where things are going to change during the contest.
- 26:58I will say this though, during the match where we had MVK and
- 27:05Rampage chopping people or chopping each other on the
- 27:09outside. In the front row I got a good
- 27:12angle. That was brutal.
- 27:17To Rampage I think told a couple of them just to hold him and
- 27:23dished out a couple of brutal chops to MVK and the look of the
- 27:30person that was trying to hold him was an absolute picture.
- 27:37It was a bloke that had decided to put baubles in his beard and
- 27:42it was a nice bushy beard as well if I may say so.
- 27:48So after Rampage kind of dishes out his chops, MVK then returns
- 27:54the favour and does the same. And the look of fear on the
- 27:58front row was an absolute sight. The ending of this match was to
- 28:09me a bit confusing but I'll I'll get your opinion on it in a wee
- 28:14second. So Critchie was layout in the
- 28:21ring and we went to Rampage Brown and MVK kind of having
- 28:27their back and forth. MVK looked like he was on his
- 28:33way to regaining the title. However, we then had the
- 28:41appearance of 1 Mr Mickey Barnes.
- 28:46He got in the ring, took out both of Richie's opponents,
- 28:53grabbed hold of Critchie's arm, pulled it over Rampage Brown to
- 28:58retain the Ignition title, and now looks like we have a an
- 29:09understanding, I suppose is one way to put it, between Cricci
- 29:14and Mickey Barnes. I enjoyed Mickey, what Mickey
- 29:24did it, so it's made him now a face because we was unsure like
- 29:31for the past couple of matches if, where, what direction we
- 29:35were going to go with him. So it looks like he is a face
- 29:39with Critchie now and he I don't know if he is a honourary member
- 29:43of FTM or is he just taking a paycheck off Critchie or what we
- 29:49what we do in here? Is he Critchie's bodyguard?
- 29:53Well, the the thing with that, when he came out and attacked
- 29:58the other two, it's not exactly the most good guy thing to do.
- 30:08So after the after Cricci wins with we were all saying, oh,
- 30:14Barnes must be a good guy, but then he started to shove the ref
- 30:19a bit and we're thinking, OK, what is, is he?
- 30:24What is he Then? Is he an, an inbetweener?
- 30:26What, what's what's going? I think that's what's confused a
- 30:30few people. So is Mickey a good or a bad
- 30:36guy? Is creature good or a bad guy?
- 30:42Is I, I don't know if what they were trying to do has worked
- 30:51because there seems to be a mixed kind of response that I've
- 30:58spoke to on like what's going on.
- 31:01But I, I suppose within the next couple of shows it will be a lot
- 31:09kind of clearer on what's going on.
- 31:13But it did feel like they were trying to have MVK as the as a
- 31:17baby face. But if that's what they were
- 31:22planning it didn't work with with the entire crowd chanting.
- 31:27Where's your title gone? Yeah, I, I see the direction
- 31:31they're going with with Mickey Barnes.
- 31:33I think he's going to be like the guy it helped Critchie just
- 31:37keep on winning. He's just going to be there
- 31:40supporting Critchie. But if Liam or Tom's not there,
- 31:44I think Mickey's just going to be that guy.
- 31:47It's like the support for Kirchi.
- 31:52So I think I'm going to go off crowd reaction.
- 31:55I think we're going with a face Mickey bounce here, so I'm
- 31:59looking forward to that. I've never seen him face.
- 32:03No, so we we we'll see in the the next few months, but this
- 32:11this was one of the shortest matches on the show, clocking 8
- 32:16minutes and 42 seconds. We then will move now to the
- 32:27evening show which was told day in hell.
- 32:33If you were AVIP, you got an extra bonus match and saw Ty
- 32:41Archer taking on Alan Crowe first.
- 32:47I think this was Crow's debut. A lot of fact to say.
- 32:52I think. I know it was his debut.
- 32:57I did enjoy. I have mentioned this elsewhere
- 33:02on the table that we had upstairs in the balcony.
- 33:05I think some of the letters that he threw out when he came out,
- 33:11he'd wrote kind of a bit of a background all what his
- 33:19character is trying to go for to it is very much kind of like the
- 33:26Crow vibes his end. I did love his entrance though.
- 33:34I will say that I think me adding black and like a noir
- 33:41shot to it on the the video I think makes it very much even
- 33:46more crow like no time put down for this, but it was a fun
- 33:57little bonus match. We got Ty Archer, we think,
- 34:02because we're not fully sure. One with a low blow on Callum
- 34:11Crow did hit arguably one of the nicest cutters I've seen for
- 34:16some time with a springboard cutter, but Ty Archer wins.
- 34:26And then we moved into the main card, which saw as your opening
- 34:33contest a TNT Tag Team title match with Act 2.
- 34:40That's Benjamin Harland and Jack Knudson trying to defend their
- 34:45titles against Lycos Gym and former TNT Tag Team champions
- 34:52against Lycos Gym in Kid Lycos and Kid Lycos, too.
- 35:02What's your views on this one? This was a very hot match for an
- 35:07opener. The crowd were into this
- 35:09straight off the bat. A lot of like it started off
- 35:14very slow with like the top rope like manoeuvres, like they kept
- 35:21repeating that move over and over again.
- 35:23Yeah, started off very, very slow.
- 35:26Like basic tag team moves, in out, in out, copy each other, do
- 35:32some simple tag moves and then the pace just went from one to
- 35:37100 very quick. Yeah, the the whole kind of like
- 35:44twisting the arm and having the tag partner jump off the top
- 35:48rope onto the arm. It was, it was almost like
- 35:53tennis because Act 2 would do it a couple of times.
- 35:57And then Lycos Jim had, I think it was Harland isolated and then
- 36:06beat to him. But then once this match really
- 36:10got going, it didn't fully split the crowd, but there was a
- 36:17healthy contingent of Lycos Gym fans in the crowd.
- 36:22I'm trying to see what notes I have.
- 36:29It was as you say, it started off slow and the pace quickened
- 36:37because it wasn't the longest match on the card.
- 36:40But I think they were very much building up to this towards the
- 36:46back end of things as we saw Act 2 finally hitting the day
- 36:54tripper on Kid Lycos to retain the tag team titles.
- 37:00Yeah, like you said, this was a this was a good match to watch.
- 37:07I'd say 2 of the established teams on the the UK circuit
- 37:14because he seems to be all over the place, especially Lycos Gym
- 37:20much much to my friend Mr Mr Ogden's dismay because he seems
- 37:29to think they get booked far too much too often.
- 37:35But I will say this for Lycos Gym, I have found myself in
- 37:38recent months kind of not being as drawn to him as I I have done
- 37:45in the past. But the the whole attitude
- 37:49change with kid Lycos and it's mostly a progress thing.
- 37:57That's really, we've kind kid Lycos becoming a heel and kid
- 38:02Lycos to still being a babyface to a degree.
- 38:08So you've kind of got that dynamic and I think that's now
- 38:11starting to seep into other promotions.
- 38:18But yeah, this was a really, this was a really fun opening
- 38:21match. Got the the crowd, as you say,
- 38:25hot, 14 minutes and 5 seconds did the job, got the crowd going
- 38:35and that's that's really all you want from an opening match match
- 38:39#2 on this effective tie. Clash of champions, if you want
- 38:47to call it that. Unofficially, we went for the
- 38:51Ultra X title with Shay Monet defending against Scotty Rourke.
- 39:01I thought this was a really good contest.
- 39:05Both giving as good as the other got.
- 39:10Always great to see Scotty Rock no matter where it is.
- 39:16I think he's almost had a renaissance in in recent months.
- 39:23I think the the Big Gay Brunch has really kind of been where
- 39:30his careers got a bit of a springboard because he's kind of
- 39:37wrestled at North and won the ultraviolent.
- 39:41Like, yeah, he has won it. He I was going to say he had won
- 39:45it, but he didn't. He stole the title, but I think
- 39:48he did actually win it. I could be proved wrong on that,
- 39:53but his career just seems to be improving and seems to be
- 39:58getting booked more at a few more places which is a bonus as
- 40:04well. Shane Monet showing how
- 40:09dangerous they are. This was this was a really good
- 40:15match. I thought, I don't know what you
- 40:17thought. I enjoyed it.
- 40:20Shane was just showing how cocky and arrogant he was in this
- 40:24match. He was taking Scotty Rockers
- 40:27like some rookie wrestler, like totally disrespecting Scotty and
- 40:33just basically treating Scotty like he's just like this average
- 40:38wrestler, which he is not. He is like one of the best high
- 40:44Flyers in the UK. Both these two matched
- 40:49perfectly. Shame on A getting some big heat
- 40:56in this match. Yeah, Scott will say.
- 41:01That is, I think Scotty should have won that match.
- 41:09I can see why, but if if they're going to run it back again, I
- 41:14would not be disappointed. I would love to see I would love
- 41:18to see him have a second go because this is one of my
- 41:22favourite matches on on of the night.
- 41:27Looking back at the what we had, it's our shame.
- 41:32Manet pinning Scotty Rock having spat at Rock in the face hitting
- 41:39a kind of Michinoki driver. Although it seemed to land have
- 41:44Scotty land more on his shoulder than than anything.
- 41:49So that was in a time of 15 minutes and 45.
- 41:57I will. The back end that I have missed
- 41:59out as well was how Shane Monet used like the title belt, tried
- 42:06to cheat the way to victory but then tried to get the belt clock
- 42:13Scotty and the referee grabbed it off him.
- 42:16Scotty then went to do the same and was in the end.
- 42:21It's turned out to be his Achilles heel in this pardon
- 42:30because as soon as the referee took the belt off him, he got
- 42:33spat at, then ended up being hit with that Michinoki driver and
- 42:39was on the back of a defeat. We then came to the TNT Extreme
- 42:48Division Title Deathmatch, which featured Emerson Jane defending
- 42:55against Lucy. Deathmatch.
- 43:01I thought, I thought this one began quite slowly.
- 43:08It was a very slow build I thought, because I think they
- 43:14knew what they wanted to do and I think they were just trying to
- 43:17get the the crowd more engaged. Because from where I was it, I
- 43:25thought it took a it took a while for him to get the crowd
- 43:29fully going for this contest. I don't know if it trans.
- 43:34I don't know if you thought that translated the same.
- 43:37I forgot them eventually, but it took a while I thought.
- 43:40Round level I think from floor level it looked like a lot
- 43:45better from watching it on the floor.
- 43:47I think thing with balcony view on confusion watching death
- 43:51matches because I've watched a few death matches up there.
- 43:54The vibe is so much better on the floor for watching death
- 43:57matches. If you go into TNT you know
- 44:00they're not doing fusion next year because they're at the
- 44:02hangar. But always watch death matches
- 44:06on floor level. Not watching my balcony because
- 44:10it doesn't transcend as well. To be fair, when when I saw
- 44:16Frill kill, all of them seem to kind of generate a buzz, but it
- 44:21just felt like the the first kind of 5 minutes of this
- 44:25contest or maybe first 8 minutes, it just I think people
- 44:32were kind of waiting for something to happen.
- 44:36That's that said, this was not a bad match by any stretch of the
- 44:41imagination. This was a really good match,
- 44:44but it was just kind of like the the the start was a bit slow,
- 44:48but once we got into the match, it really did kind of like pick
- 44:52up there was, I'm trying to think of spots we had in this,
- 45:00obviously the miles. They did the big start, the big
- 45:06opening bit at the start where Lucy got Irish whipped into the
- 45:10glass in the corner to the that was the opening bit because it
- 45:16was a reversal into the corner. Yeah, into the the light tubes.
- 45:22Yeah, the light right up in the far corner.
- 45:27And then, I don't know, it just felt like either something they
- 45:32were going to use wasn't there and they just.
- 45:37Looked like they left my trade but the trade didn't really
- 45:41work. The trade was like.
- 45:44Yeah, there was. There was a couple of things
- 45:46early on where they tried things and it Eva didn't work as they
- 45:53wanted to because I think they had the board that had I think
- 45:57this was later on they had a fair few light tubes connected
- 46:01to the like a bit of ward. Oh yeah.
- 46:04Lucy got thrown into it and I think we were all expecting it
- 46:08to explode and. Yeah.
- 46:10Nothing happened. None of the tubes smashed, and
- 46:13then when the tube trade troop ball come off the ring, none of
- 46:17them were broken. Yeah.
- 46:20It's it was almost like the the props didn't want to play ball
- 46:26in this, but there we we had that we had him fight on the the
- 46:32ring apron and I'm trying to think who hit the was it Jane
- 46:37picked up Skyne, put him through?
- 46:41Was it a table he went through? Yeah, it was a table on 2
- 46:44chairs. Well the table didn't even break
- 46:47it like slipped off the chairs. It still looked brutal, but like
- 46:51the table slipped off. I'll, I'll say this for that
- 46:54spot, despite the fact it didn't break the, the look of the two
- 47:00chairs pinging either side made it look, I'd say it actually
- 47:06made it look more brutal. And then kind of like once we,
- 47:13we got a bit more into it, we, we had Emerson Jane using a
- 47:16dart, which I think again, if anyone ever pulls out a certain
- 47:22weapon, you know who's going to get it used on him.
- 47:27Jane has a dart put through her cheek.
- 47:31We then have, what else did we have?
- 47:38Can you remember anything else? We have the big Mitch and
- 47:42Oakwood driver off the middle rope and Lucy Anderson.
- 47:49I'm trying to thinking on it. So we had Sky hitting a
- 47:52Michinoki driver from the middle top rope.
- 47:58Emerson Jane did a moonsault which I think missed.
- 48:04Then Sky hit a lovely frog splash which got a two.
- 48:13We then had Lucy disappearing and bringing out a sheet of
- 48:19glass. We were trying to think what she
- 48:24was going to get, came out with this sheet of glass and ended up
- 48:32towards the back end with Emerson Jane power bombing Lucy.
- 48:36Sky threw that sheet of glass before hitting the Minge driver
- 48:42to retain her Extreme Division title in a time of 21 minutes
- 48:50and three seconds. I enjoyed this.
- 48:56He despite the the props not particularly playing ball in the
- 49:00contest. I thought it was.
- 49:04I thought it was a really good match for what it was.
- 49:07Yeah. And that wasn't all.
- 49:13We then had Emison Jane asking for the microphone cuts a promo
- 49:21and speaks how when she wanted to do kind of like death match
- 49:26wrestling, none of the the boys, as she said, kind of like wanted
- 49:34her to to be doing it because kind of boy thought he was lazy.
- 49:41But she said over the the last couple of years, more women are
- 49:44doing death match wrestling, notably singling Lucy sky out if
- 49:51she just had that match with. And then came the announcement
- 49:55that on the 27th of September next year, when it's the big
- 50:02double header weekend, the Sunday, we'll see the first ever
- 50:08Women's Deathmatch tournament in the UK as Sirens Fury has total
- 50:17carnage at the Hangar, which is going to be an interesting one
- 50:25from now till then of who is going to be part of this Women's
- 50:29Deathmatch. There's been a few names banded
- 50:34about that I've seen. I've got a few names in my head.
- 50:39So we we will wait and see on that particular junction.
- 50:49Also as a result of this match, unfortunately Lucy Skye posted
- 50:56last night that she sustained an injury from this contest and has
- 51:05been ruled out now for the rest of 2025 S speedy recovery to you
- 51:14Lucy, hopefully we we see you in the ring.
- 51:18Ascending with Lucy, yeah. Hopefully we see you back in the
- 51:24ring sooner than later. But when it comes to health,
- 51:30that always comes first over entertainment.
- 51:36Moving back to the show and match #4 saw the experience in
- 51:44LA, Taylor and sexy Sky Smithson taking on kind of, I'll be
- 51:51honest, my team in hyperactive, that being Anita Von and
- 51:57Sapphire Reed. It was an interesting contest.
- 52:05I thought the crowd seemed to be quite split as well.
- 52:12I fought for this. There was a lot.
- 52:15There was a lot of the experience.
- 52:19Yeah. What?
- 52:20What would you say on this one? So this was the first time I've
- 52:24seen hyperactive tag. I've only seen Sapphire read
- 52:28once when she faced Lana Austin Atomic last year, so it's the
- 52:35first time I've got to see Anita Vaughan and Sapphire.
- 52:38Second time I've seen her so I've not.
- 52:42I didn't really know too much about Hyperactive.
- 52:44I've not watched any of their matches so it was like it was
- 52:48different to me watching A tag team like them too.
- 52:53They are a very different tag team from what you used to
- 52:59seeing in women's tag, quite a unique style.
- 53:06I think hyperactive kind of is very much them.
- 53:10They are very hyperactive in the ring, especially when they're A
- 53:14tag team. It's like 2.
- 53:20I was going to say Imps, but that's probably not the right
- 53:23term. Gremlins.
- 53:27Let's go for gremlins. They're literally just two
- 53:32demons Who it's weird when you see him in singles action
- 53:39because Anita Vaughan, when you see him in singles is very much
- 53:44more a methodical kind of silent killer and a wrestler.
- 53:55And Sapphire Reed is almost equally the same.
- 53:58They're both kind of very focused when singles, but put
- 54:03them together and they're just, they just create havoc.
- 54:10But as I said, I am a fan of both of them.
- 54:15So no surprise who I was cheering for here and who was
- 54:19devastated afterwards. But this I will say this for I
- 54:26have seen this match prior back in August I think it was, so
- 54:33that match was different to this one.
- 54:36If anything this match I feel was better because I can't
- 54:41remember a whole lot about the previous encounter, but this one
- 54:49seemed to be very much like 1 Upsman ship between the two
- 54:55because it'd be hyperactive Hood, isolate Sky Smitson and
- 55:00then the the experience to try and isolate Sapphire Read and it
- 55:10was a very back and forth contest I thought very
- 55:14enjoyable. Unfortunately, I say on my part,
- 55:20the experience, one with a double team to win in 13 minutes
- 55:27and 28 to retain the women's tag team titles.
- 55:36I've seen two different style matches now with the experience
- 55:42because we saw the experience against the She Wolves last
- 55:45time, which was mostly just power based and they seemed more
- 55:51speed. So what it does show is they can
- 55:56wrestle to any style the experience.
- 56:00So we'll I suppose we'll see who they face next, but I'm just
- 56:07wondering who they may. We then come to the penultimate
- 56:15match of the night and they saw Conor Mills taking on Leonardo
- 56:21Darwin with One thing you will get with Darwin is comedy, but
- 56:32with a lot of seriousness. But Darwin coming out with a
- 56:37massive gold chain and mimicking Conor Mills was an absolute joy
- 56:46to watch. I mean his entrance, I could
- 56:54watch his entrances all day long to be fair, because you never
- 56:59know what you're going to get with him.
- 57:03But then when Connor Mills came out, I actually thought it was a
- 57:08grand old car at one point with what he was wearing.
- 57:13But when Mills is in the ring and Darwin's on the outside,
- 57:17Darwin is literally just mimicking the the movements of
- 57:22Connor Mills, but throwing in a bit of John Cena as well to the
- 57:27to the wrap, which I kind of got a kick out of in fairness.
- 57:35What? What did you how did you feel
- 57:38about this one? I enjoyed this.
- 57:43I've been wanting to see Darwin for ages.
- 57:45He's been one of my guys I've been wanting to watch.
- 57:49I've never seen him before. This was the first time I've
- 57:52actually got to see one of his matches.
- 57:54I've seen a fair bit of Mills. I really, really, really like
- 57:57Mills. This guy is one of the fastest
- 58:00rising talents. His move set is unbelievable.
- 58:06His strikes, his technical ability, he's got the speed.
- 58:12He is literally like a create a wrestler on WWE.
- 58:15He's like maxed out in every start.
- 58:17This guy is like a superstar. I love that they went for the
- 58:22strong style and then Darwin was taking the piss out of it when
- 58:26he did the thrust and that that just summed this match up.
- 58:32Mills just wanted to beat the shit out of Darwin and just
- 58:35Darwin was just sticking around. I did like the the two parts one
- 58:42that you've just mentioned where Mills had basically sat up and
- 58:49Darwin had done a move and says strong style and thrusted his
- 58:54groyne into the back of his head and walked through him.
- 58:58Which left my mate up in the balcony in almost floods of
- 59:02tears and had to lay on the kind of on the seating part because
- 59:10he was laughing so hard over it. And the other one was, I think
- 59:17he has Mills in. It wasn't a tile.
- 59:22I think he had him in like in an arm lock or something.
- 59:26And then said time for sports entertainment and then just gave
- 59:31a kiss to Connor Mills on the cheek and ended up just taking a
- 59:37slap or a slap barrage from the Mills watching.
- 59:47Seeing as I've only been like following British wrestling for
- 59:50a couple of years now, one of the where I saw Mills the first
- 59:56time to where he is now is if I've seen a lot of progression
- 1:00:03with him. Because when I first saw him, he
- 1:00:05kind of just looked like, just like a normal wrestler.
- 1:00:11There was, there was nothing spectacular or anything flashy
- 1:00:15about him. He he might have just had like
- 1:00:19good matches and that was effectively it.
- 1:00:23There wasn't a whole lot to him. Then he's gone down the the True
- 1:00:28Grit route with his kind of like his big fur coats in chain and
- 1:00:33everything. And I think at that point I
- 1:00:37think he had something, but he didn't know where or what to do
- 1:00:42with it. And I think he's kind of kept
- 1:00:47that idea and just thought, right, what works and what
- 1:00:52doesn't work with what I'm doing now.
- 1:00:56And he's kind of shaved off a lot of what he was doing.
- 1:01:02And this is kind of like what we have now, which is working so
- 1:01:07well for him, be it progress, Rev, pro, panel, all the top
- 1:01:14promotions. And I think what we're seeing
- 1:01:17now in Mills is all the potential he's had is now coming
- 1:01:22out and we're seeing a really good version of Connor Mills.
- 1:01:29But going back to the match itself, some of these strikes
- 1:01:37that he was doing to Darwin were absolutely brutal.
- 1:01:44I I would not have wanted to be Darwin at any point in this
- 1:01:47contest would be slaps, kicks, punches.
- 1:01:54The only shock of this entire match was that Mills actually
- 1:01:59ends up with a cut on his head towards the back end of it,
- 1:02:05which I don't know how he sustained that.
- 1:02:09It should have been Darwin's blood in in truth.
- 1:02:14But Mills wins with a tap out victory hitting the ankle lock
- 1:02:23and that would not be the the last time we would see Mr Darwin
- 1:02:28as we head to our main event of the card and so the world title
- 1:02:38With Tate Mayfair's defending against Drew Parker.
- 1:02:47I thought this was a an interesting contest as well.
- 1:02:52Yeah, it wasn't where I thought they were going to go with it,
- 1:02:55but it a lot of it made sense, I felt.
- 1:03:03I'm surprised he didn't do it as a stipulation match to begin
- 1:03:05with. Standard match.
- 1:03:08It was an interesting, interesting match.
- 1:03:13I think a lot of us was thinking that his, Tate said.
- 1:03:17If he wins, he's going to bar like death match wrestling which
- 1:03:24a few of us then thought well is this going to be Parker wins And
- 1:03:28then the only way that Mayfair's can get his title back is Parker
- 1:03:35brings him into his domain of a death match.
- 1:03:40Which made it interesting because you didn't know who was
- 1:03:44going to win. And having that kind of doubt in
- 1:03:51your head is always a good thing in wrestling I feel because you
- 1:03:55don't want to make it too obvious.
- 1:04:00But this was a it was a hard hitting physical, very much
- 1:04:08played up to the bad blood that the 2 have ended up with the
- 1:04:15initial match being thrown out by DQ Drew Parker winning.
- 1:04:23I'm trying to think was it a low?
- 1:04:26Was it a low? Low.
- 1:04:28Yeah. No, sorry, low.
- 1:04:30He pushed, he pushed the he kept pushing the referee.
- 1:04:34And then he low blow drew him from the rest.
- 1:04:37So that led to the referee disqualifying take Mayfair's and
- 1:04:41thought he'd get away with it until we kind of called and
- 1:04:48said, right, we just need Greenwood to come out now and
- 1:04:50get a match restarted. And as soon as we said that, who
- 1:04:54pops out James Greenwood and says no, no take you, you're
- 1:05:00not, you're not winning that way.
- 1:05:03We're going to have a no count out, no disqualification match
- 1:05:07to determine a winner. And having had Leonardo Darwin
- 1:05:14kicked out of the match earlier, Darren then came back.
- 1:05:20This was after Drew Parker had grabbed some light tubes from
- 1:05:27under the ring take Mayfair's had put some brass knuckles on
- 1:05:32his hand. Missed initially.
- 1:05:36Parker knocked. I think he knocked Mayfair's out
- 1:05:39for a brief time. This led to him going to get the
- 1:05:45light tubes. I know he hit the rewind cutter.
- 1:05:51Then he went to get light tubes and as he was getting back into
- 1:05:55the ring, Darwin tried to make the save.
- 1:06:00Ended up taking a light tube to the back, and as soon as Parker
- 1:06:08got in the ring, Mayfair's clocks in with the brass.
- 1:06:11Knox picks up the 123 and retains his TNT World Title as
- 1:06:21he currently has it for a title reign, which stretches now to as
- 1:06:31of the day of recording 808 days as the TNT Champion.
- 1:06:41Yeah, I thought this was a good match for the the show to end on
- 1:06:48and what what we've got, it's at least you're now thinking who is
- 1:06:55going to take the title off Mayfair's?
- 1:06:57Is it going to be Parker or is it going to be someone we
- 1:07:01haven't looked at and. Possibly.
- 1:07:05It's got you thinking. So after the the match it has
- 1:07:13Parker apologising to the crowd and saying that I will get the
- 1:07:17title off him somehow, some way. Then says they have an
- 1:07:25announcement to which everyone was watching the screen.
- 1:07:31And as we said in September, that double header on the 27th
- 1:07:37in the evening while we have the women's deathmatch tournament in
- 1:07:43the afternoon. Later that day we have the
- 1:07:47Tournament of Death UK tournament.
- 1:07:52Oh, sorry, the Tournament of Death UK as TNT is going to be
- 1:07:57joined by CZW Combat Zone Wrestling from the United
- 1:08:04States. And if you don't know CZW, look
- 1:08:12em up because it's one of the most violent promotions you will
- 1:08:20find anywhere, but is also home to some some of the best
- 1:08:28wrestling that are some of the best wrestlers down the years as
- 1:08:31well. And it's very in keeping I feel
- 1:08:36with TNT as well. You've you've got a mixture of
- 1:08:39wrestling and violence. So it it seems a good
- 1:08:47combination, a good fit you could say for these two.
- 1:08:55So with that, their next show is this coming Saturday in Bradford
- 1:09:02for their first ever one there and we have 5 matches announced
- 1:09:09so far as we have Gareth Kelly and Critchie taking on Sam
- 1:09:15Bailey and a mystery opponent MVK will take on Mickey Barnes.
- 1:09:24You could say that's following very closely after what happened
- 1:09:30this past weekend. Sky Smithson takes on Emerson.
- 1:09:35Jane Bullitt faces Sam Gradwell, which will be an absolute
- 1:09:42banger. And for the Progress world title
- 1:09:47man like Derice defends against Tommy Tanner.
- 1:09:56There's more likely to be possibly one or two matches
- 1:10:00still to be announced because we are not at Saturday yet and we
- 1:10:04have a fair few days to play, but that card looks stacked.
- 1:10:10That card is juicy. I'm looking at going that show
- 1:10:14that that ignition card is better than what we have last
- 1:10:19weekend. I'm looking forward to the show
- 1:10:22like I was looking at going it originally.
- 1:10:26I know it's a late it's a it's quite late for an ignition show.
- 1:10:29It starts at six O clock, so it's timing wise depending on
- 1:10:32what time it finishes getting back from Bradford.
- 1:10:35But these five matches that are announced, I'm 90% sure I will
- 1:10:41be attending this one. Only thing a lot of the TNT
- 1:10:45regulars aren't going the show, which is a shame.
- 1:10:48But I've spoken to quite a lot of the regulars and they're
- 1:10:51saying they're not going, which is a shame because this card.
- 1:10:54Looks fantastic. I'm wondering if those views
- 1:10:58will change having seen the card now, or if they if they'll still
- 1:11:04kind of like give it a miss but. If your views have not changed,
- 1:11:08your foolish. I do know one person that's
- 1:11:13going. Louise is going because I've
- 1:11:17already been asked if I was going and I said I wasn't.
- 1:11:24So there's there's going to be 1.
- 1:11:27I can think of another person that will be there as well
- 1:11:30that's very close to Bradford, that being Mr Wrestling Jeebus
- 1:11:38himself. So I would expect him to be
- 1:11:41there, but unless. He knows it, which is a
- 1:11:44surprise. Is he not?
- 1:11:46Bradford. No, Mr Bradford is not at his
- 1:11:48own show. Oh, that's an interesting one.
- 1:11:54I know about it and he's not even there.
- 1:11:57I was like, of course you're out of Bradford when a Bradford show
- 1:12:02is on. That typical?
- 1:12:04Yeah, of of all the shows as well that you'd think would be
- 1:12:09kind of like good for Jeebus, this would be one of them.
- 1:12:16But yeah, that's effectively all we have for this episode.
- 1:12:21In terms of the wrestling action.
- 1:12:24Well, people just randomly start messaging me.
- 1:12:31It's a good indicator to say hurry up.
- 1:12:34But we have a couple of shout outs, one being getting random,
- 1:12:42random text. If I don't know, shove off, we
- 1:12:47have the group wrestling podcast which helped me out, looked
- 1:12:53after me the other day. We also have rambling about
- 1:12:59wrestling, which I was a guest last night on their show, which
- 1:13:06will probably go out tomorrow I think.
- 1:13:10If not, it will be Friday. That is Jack Beno and Samuel
- 1:13:19talking all things Future shock as we prepare for the future
- 1:13:24shock ornament. I can't remember what the actual
- 1:13:29show is. I think future shock of the
- 1:13:31lightning or lightning of the future shock, something like
- 1:13:35that. It's it's an awful name.
- 1:13:37I've said stated this many times, it's an awful name.
- 1:13:42So we kind of chat who's going to win that and do a long review
- 1:13:49and it went on a quite a fair bit.
- 1:13:51So Jack has his work cut out for him in trying to edit that down.
- 1:13:59But before we go, give a quick plug also to the Go Fund Me page
- 1:14:08for Millie McKenzie, who as many know has been a staple of the UK
- 1:14:14scene, is currently having a rough time as she is waiting to
- 1:14:22have a liver transplant which she badly needs.
- 1:14:26So a Go Fund Me page has been set up and at the time of
- 1:14:33recording in hoping to raise 13,000 we stand at the
- 1:14:41incredible 12,230. So hopefully by the time this is
- 1:14:54the microphone squeaks. Hopefully by the time this goes
- 1:14:59out it will have hit that target, if not hope by weekend.
- 1:15:07But that is all your podcast for tonight.
- 1:15:16Have you anything you'd like to blog, Miles?
- 1:15:21No, nothing to plug. So we we have nothing to plug.
- 1:15:28I have done my plugs I'll do it anyway.
- 1:15:32Brad is grappas on Instagram PETA Brad is on Twitter.
- 1:15:43That's that's all I'm going to say for this.
- 1:15:48Thank you for taking the time to listen.
- 1:15:51Hopefully we haven't put you to sleep, but be sure to join us
- 1:15:56next week because it will be a special edition for future Shock
- 1:16:03Wrestling's tournament and so we'll see if we have a new
- 1:16:07champion or not as Big Deck McCarthy faces the current
- 1:16:14champion Joey Hayes. So if a title change happens.
- 1:16:21But for now, it's a goodbye from me.
- 1:16:26And a goodbye from me. He's done it for me.
- 1:16:30Yeah, thank. You for listening and we'll
- 1:16:37catch you later.
