- 2:48Speaker 1: wing Gate is one of the tech guys. He works remote.
- 2:51Speaker 1: He's in San Diego and he's got a few technical
- 2:54Speaker 1: problems in the rollout of the new radio Archives show.
- 2:57Speaker 2: I wanted to talk to you about it, Biff win Gate.
- 3:00Speaker 2: I don't know who this is.
- 3:01Speaker 3: What do you have to know? I mean, the guy
- 3:02Speaker 3: works for you.
- 3:04Speaker 1: I know that, man, I know the cat works for me.
- 3:05Speaker 1: I just I why is it that Biff is.
- 3:08Speaker 4: Well, apparently you owe him a favor, that's what That's
- 3:11Speaker 4: what David will be on he'll tell you.
- 3:13Speaker 1: But I owe Biff wing Gate a favor. Yes, yeah,
- 3:18Speaker 1: well that I can't wait to hear about. Now I
- 3:21Speaker 1: can't think about you.
- 3:22Speaker 3: Want to get David on the phone.
- 3:24Speaker 1: Get David on the phone, Get him on the phone. Yes,
- 3:29Speaker 1: when somebody says to you, do you old guy favor?
- 3:31Speaker 1: And now that's on my mind?
- 3:33Speaker 2: David, Hey, David, it's Phil.
- 3:35Speaker 3: Yeah. Phil. I didn't mean interrupted program or anything. But
- 3:39Speaker 3: Biff wind Gate is at the the studios in San
- 3:42Speaker 3: Diego and he was getting the uploads to put on
- 3:46Speaker 3: the website because he's working with Pete okay, and he
- 3:49Speaker 3: said the coding was run or was wrong or something
- 3:52Speaker 3: like that. But he wanted to talk you. You want
- 3:54Speaker 3: to talk to you and Pete and with Shane to
- 3:56Speaker 3: make sure the coding was right.
- 3:58Speaker 2: Okay.
- 3:58Speaker 3: Isn't that something he can get with Shane and Pete on.
- 4:00Speaker 3: He didn't have to talk to me. Well, he felt
- 4:02Speaker 3: like he like, maybe you owed him one. He's he's
- 4:05Speaker 3: brand new with the company and he wants to make
- 4:06Speaker 3: sure he gets everything right.
- 4:08Speaker 2: I owe him one.
- 4:09Speaker 3: How you heard what they said? Apparently you owe him
- 4:12Speaker 3: your life.
- 4:14Speaker 2: I owe Biff Wingate my life.
- 4:16Speaker 3: That's right, Phil? Yeah, well how do you know that?
- 4:19Speaker 3: Because that's what he said. He said to me, basically,
- 4:22Speaker 3: Henry owes me his life. So could you get him
- 4:24Speaker 3: to call me? Okay before too much time goes He
- 4:27Speaker 3: had something to do. He's going up to some dance
- 4:30Speaker 3: with his girlfriend.
- 4:30Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 4:32Speaker 1: He's got something to do, so all right, I mean,
- 4:34Speaker 1: but don't we have anybody else?
- 4:37Speaker 3: He wants to talk to you, Phil, He wants to
- 4:39Speaker 3: talk to the man because you know better than anybody
- 4:41Speaker 3: else how you want these hours to roll out? Okay,
- 4:44Speaker 3: I understand.
- 4:45Speaker 1: This is what we should do, is you should have
- 4:46Speaker 1: like a call like either a zoom call or just
- 4:48Speaker 1: a conference call with everybody and we'll talk about the
- 4:51Speaker 1: coding on the on the files and everything like that.
- 4:53Speaker 1: Is that that's not good enough for him?
- 4:55Speaker 3: Huh No, Because he said that you you owe him
- 4:59Speaker 3: one given the fact that he saved your life one time.
- 5:02Speaker 3: I never heard of this guy. How did he save
- 5:03Speaker 3: my life? I don't know. He said that, You know,
- 5:07Speaker 3: Henry owes me his life. So what you have him?
- 5:09Speaker 3: Call me? Because I got you know, you know, I'm
- 5:12Speaker 3: burning daylight here. I got a dance to go to.
- 5:14Speaker 2: What kind of a dance?
- 5:15Speaker 3: Yeah, he's got. It's just a dance like where people
- 5:17Speaker 3: get together and dance, you know, like a dance, like
- 5:20Speaker 3: a high school dance. Well, it's not that. What is
- 5:23Speaker 3: it general, it's they get they're having a dance.
- 5:27Speaker 2: Yeah, come on down to the dance.
- 5:28Speaker 3: I don't know are these people he's saying, come on
- 5:31Speaker 3: down to the dance?
- 5:32Speaker 2: Is it a nightclub?
- 5:34Speaker 4: No?
- 5:34Speaker 3: I think what do they do? But you have to
- 5:35Speaker 3: know they rent it out like an Elks lodge. Well
- 5:38Speaker 3: it must be some kind of a party then or something, right,
- 5:40Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 5:41Speaker 2: It's a david Are you there? Yeah?
- 5:44Speaker 3: Right here?
- 5:45Speaker 2: So what's this dance he's got to get to?
- 5:47Speaker 3: He says, he's got to go to a dance. He's
- 5:49Speaker 3: taking his girlfriend to a dance. So he'd like you
- 5:51Speaker 3: if you wouldn't mind just step it up a little
- 5:54Speaker 3: bit and give him a call so he can figure
- 5:56Speaker 3: out this coding. And I gotta give I gotta call
- 5:59Speaker 3: this guy because I.
- 5:59Speaker 2: Owe him my life.
- 6:01Speaker 3: Well, listen to you who laugh?
- 6:02Speaker 2: Oh my god, Hill, it's not necessary.
- 6:05Speaker 1: Well, come on, you guys, I don't know anything. And
- 6:07Speaker 1: come on, I know I did, Phil. Do you you
- 6:10Speaker 1: don't remember owing this guy your life?
- 6:12Speaker 2: No? I don't remember owing this guy my life.
- 6:15Speaker 3: This guy you remember when you said when you were
- 6:17Speaker 3: a little kid and you dove into a lake Arrowhead
- 6:20Speaker 3: and you begin to sink, and a guy swam up
- 6:23Speaker 3: underneath you and swam in to the shore. Don't tell
- 6:26Speaker 3: me that was Biff Wingate, you know, a little bit older,
- 6:28Speaker 3: as an older kid, that he swam under you and
- 6:31Speaker 3: saved you. How does he know he was the guy
- 6:32Speaker 3: that saved me? Because he said he swam under a
- 6:35Speaker 3: kid way back when at lake Arrowhead and lifted this
- 6:38Speaker 3: kid up to the surface, dropped the kid off, and
- 6:40Speaker 3: then went away.
- 6:43Speaker 1: You know what, I bet you he heard me tell
- 6:44Speaker 1: that story, Phil, Come on, have some respects.
- 6:46Speaker 2: Wait a minute, I bet you he heard me tell
- 6:48Speaker 2: that story.
- 6:50Speaker 1: And and and then he decided, I think I'll be
- 6:53Speaker 1: the I'll be the guy that saved that Phil.
- 6:55Speaker 2: Henry when he was a kid.
- 6:56Speaker 3: I don't know the guy is, you know, as a
- 6:58Speaker 3: longtime engineer. He's doing us a favor working down in
- 7:01Speaker 3: San Diego, down at the studio down there to get
- 7:03Speaker 3: the uploads ready, and I figured, you know, get O
- 7:07Speaker 3: a phone call or at least we could get this meeting together.
- 7:09Speaker 2: What does he want?
- 7:10Speaker 3: He wants to meet with you and Pete and Shane
- 7:13Speaker 3: before this dance starts.
- 7:15Speaker 2: And he's got a dance to go to tonight.
- 7:16Speaker 3: Yeah, it starts about it's late. It's a dance, late
- 7:20Speaker 3: late dance. I don't get it.
- 7:21Speaker 2: Either, Phil.
- 7:21Speaker 1: I mean, usually dances are for high school kids, right,
- 7:24Speaker 1: never heard about such a.
- 7:25Speaker 2: Thing, Phil, I don't. But you went real high.
- 7:28Speaker 3: I know I did, all right, Phil.
- 7:30Speaker 4: You're the one that's always pointing out how we need
- 7:32Speaker 4: to clean it up around here.
- 7:35Speaker 2: Well, I don't know what that's got to do with
- 7:36Speaker 2: cleaning it up.
- 7:36Speaker 3: Because you've got to have some articulation.
- 7:38Speaker 4: You need to have the dulcet tones, and then we
- 7:40Speaker 4: can get into discussing the things that we need to discuss.
- 7:43Speaker 4: Now this man I don't want to talk about in general,
- 7:45Speaker 4: I don't want to talk about this tonight.
- 7:46Speaker 3: Well I'm sorry, Margaret, but you're running the show. Margaret,
- 7:49Speaker 3: you don't run the show. Yes, you're very valuable, but
- 7:51Speaker 3: we got to get to this. Well you know what,
- 7:52Speaker 3: then I'll get up and leave, Margaret, don't lea hold it.
- 7:55Speaker 2: Sit down. Okay, So what's the upshot here?
- 7:58Speaker 3: If win Gate wants you to get to get the
- 8:00Speaker 3: conference call going when you're done with Shane, Pete, you
- 8:03Speaker 3: and me and possibly at least one or two people
- 8:07Speaker 3: from my heart, so he's not going.
- 8:09Speaker 2: To get anybody from iHeart at ten o'clock at night.
- 8:12Speaker 3: You owe the man your life, Phil, Excuse me, I'm
- 8:15Speaker 3: getting emotional about it.
- 8:16Speaker 2: You know.
- 8:17Speaker 1: I owe him my life because he claims to be
- 8:19Speaker 1: the kid that swam underneath me when I was like
- 8:21Speaker 1: seven or eight at Lake Arrowhead and deposited me on
- 8:24Speaker 1: the shore line so he wouldn't drown.
- 8:25Speaker 3: And he was the kid. That's what he says.
- 8:28Speaker 2: Do you believe him?
- 8:29Speaker 3: Yes? I do. It's possible, Phil, Yes, it's also possible.
- 8:32Speaker 2: The guy heard me telling that story.
- 8:34Speaker 3: Well you told the stories just made me like one time,
- 8:36Speaker 3: mis sir Henry. See, that's just it. Philip, it's not
- 8:38Speaker 3: a story that you told a lot.
- 8:40Speaker 2: I don't know, man, I ain't buying this.
- 8:42Speaker 3: Okay, that's fine, Philip, Man, that saved your life. Okay,
- 8:45Speaker 3: that pulled you out.
- 8:45Speaker 2: Of the tune.
- 8:47Speaker 3: Why do you believe it because it sounds? Why do
- 8:50Speaker 3: I believe it? Why wouldn't I believe it? Why wouldn't
- 8:51Speaker 3: I believe a man who said you know nothing? He's
- 8:54Speaker 3: in to me, mister Hall. I don't want to cause
- 8:55Speaker 3: a problem, but I need to talk to Phil and
- 8:56Speaker 3: to beat the guys. And you know, i'd figure mister
- 8:58Speaker 3: Henry Osman when I said, why he owes me his life?
- 9:01Speaker 3: I said, okay, you got it? So oh that's all
- 9:03Speaker 3: it took. Okay, you got it? Yeah, I mean I
- 9:06Speaker 3: heard the man said to me, Phil Henry owes me
- 9:08Speaker 3: his life. Okay, he said it just like that. Get
- 9:12Speaker 3: this guy on the phone. He's busy.
- 9:15Speaker 2: Oh is he busy?
- 9:16Speaker 3: Now? Yes, he's waiting to go to the dance. He's
- 9:17Speaker 3: getting ready.
- 9:18Speaker 2: He's going to a dance. It's not a high school dance.
- 9:21Speaker 3: Gott Phil, He's going to a dance. That's right.
- 9:23Speaker 1: It's not a high school dance. It's not a college dance.
- 9:27Speaker 1: It's not it's the did you say the Elks Lodge.
- 9:29Speaker 3: I think they rented it out. Yeah.
- 9:32Speaker 2: Is he a member of the Elks Lodge.
- 9:33Speaker 3: No, he's not. Even he's not a member of the
- 9:35Speaker 3: Elks Lodge. And he's not a member of the Elks Lodge.
- 9:37Speaker 3: You know, all right, David, I get it. Okay, I'm
- 9:39Speaker 3: trying to figure out who this guy is. Phil What
- 9:41Speaker 3: do you need to know? What do you need to know?
- 9:43Speaker 3: The guys down working very hard for us in San
- 9:45Speaker 3: Diego at the studio, at the auxiliary studio down there
- 9:48Speaker 3: getting these uploads. He wants to make sure the coding
- 9:50Speaker 3: is right, because you were angry about it last week.
- 9:53Speaker 3: So he said, get Henry, get to the guy.
- 9:55Speaker 2: Get Henry.
- 9:56Speaker 3: Huh that is your name, right?
- 9:57Speaker 2: Is your name is Dudry?
- 9:59Speaker 3: Yeah, it is my name. Only people that call me
- 10:01Speaker 3: Henri are generally guys that I've known for.
- 10:02Speaker 2: A long time.
- 10:03Speaker 3: Okay, all right, well, sorry, he said, Get Henry, Get Shane,
- 10:08Speaker 3: get Pete, he said, and see if you can't rouse
- 10:11Speaker 3: somebody from my heart, at least one or two of
- 10:12Speaker 3: those people, and let's get this show on the road,
- 10:15Speaker 3: because I got a dance to go. To look at
- 10:19Speaker 3: him laughing. What is so funny?
- 10:20Speaker 2: Phil?
- 10:21Speaker 3: I got a dance to I'm telling you, oh man,
- 10:27Speaker 3: all right, and we can't get him on the phone.
- 10:29Speaker 3: But can you give it a try? Yeah, you can
- 10:31Speaker 3: give it a try.
- 10:31Speaker 1: Yeah, give it a try. Let's see if we can't
- 10:33Speaker 1: get Biff wing Gate on the phone.
- 10:35Speaker 3: Look at Phil, you can laugh, you know. Can you
- 10:37Speaker 3: imagine if I saved your life or if you saved
- 10:40Speaker 3: my life? And I said, okay, let's get Henry on
- 10:42Speaker 3: the phone and listen to his claim about saving my life?
- 10:45Speaker 3: How do you think you'd feel angry? Of course? How
- 10:47Speaker 3: do you think Biff wing Gate's feeling right now?
- 10:49Speaker 2: Is he listening?
- 10:50Speaker 3: Has He said he'd be listening as he's putting, as
- 10:52Speaker 3: he's putting on the cologne, and after he.
- 10:54Speaker 2: Showered, he said he's listening.
- 10:57Speaker 3: After he went he's getting ready for the dance, after
- 10:59Speaker 3: he shower and was putting on colony, Say you be listening,
- 11:05Speaker 3: oh man? Okay, get Biff Wingate in the line. Biff
- 11:09Speaker 3: Wingates joining us now from San Diego.
- 11:11Speaker 2: Biff, how are you hi?
- 11:14Speaker 3: I guess I didn't expect i'd get you on the phone,
- 11:17Speaker 3: mister Henry, But boy, it's sure is a great honor.
- 11:19Speaker 2: To speak to you, mister Wingate.
- 11:21Speaker 3: I'm told that you saved my life back when.
- 11:23Speaker 2: I was a kid.
- 11:23Speaker 3: It was Lake Arrowhead. It was in the late nineteen fifties.
- 11:26Speaker 3: You were there with your mother and father. I was
- 11:28Speaker 3: there with my aunt and uncle because my mom and
- 11:30Speaker 3: dad had died in an automobile action the year before,
- 11:33Speaker 3: and everyone was trying the very best they could to
- 11:36Speaker 3: raise the wing Gate kids. And we had our aunt
- 11:38Speaker 3: and uncle there and our grandparents who are running a
- 11:40Speaker 3: frame cabin.
- 11:41Speaker 2: At Lake Arrowhead.
- 11:43Speaker 3: No, at Big Bear, Yes, at Lake you know.
- 11:46Speaker 1: Hey, hey, Biff, you know, I'm just trying to get
- 11:48Speaker 1: you information here, all right.
- 11:49Speaker 3: I mean, but the people told me that, you know
- 11:51Speaker 3: that you would be interested in at least least hearing
- 11:53Speaker 3: the story.
- 11:54Speaker 2: Yeah. So it was Lake Arrowhead.
- 11:56Speaker 3: Yes, it was the same link that you guys are at.
- 11:57Speaker 2: Okay, So I was swimming.
- 12:00Speaker 3: You went in swimming. You couldn't have been more than
- 12:02Speaker 3: six seven years old, and I was a little bit older.
- 12:05Speaker 3: I was like ten eleven. And I saw you jump
- 12:08Speaker 3: in and you didn't flash, you didn't slap the waves
- 12:11Speaker 3: or splash your hands or anything like that. You sunk.
- 12:14Speaker 3: Your head disappeared beneath the lake waters. And I don't know.
- 12:19Speaker 3: This was an instinct I had. I just dove in. Now,
- 12:22Speaker 3: where were you in proximity to me? Well, so, in
- 12:25Speaker 3: other words, which you're you're trying to determine whether I'm
- 12:27Speaker 3: lying or not?
- 12:27Speaker 1: No, no, sir, I'm not necessarily I want to know
- 12:29Speaker 1: the specifics of this rescue.
- 12:31Speaker 2: Though. Where were you when you saw me?
- 12:33Speaker 3: I was standing on the shore. I was talking to
- 12:35Speaker 3: my aunt and she'd given me something, some on a
- 12:37Speaker 3: cracker to eat, and I was I was talking to
- 12:40Speaker 3: my hand. She gave me some on a cracker.
- 12:42Speaker 1: So you're eating something on a cracker. You saw me
- 12:44Speaker 1: jump in, I saw you jump in.
- 12:46Speaker 3: I saw you sink below the waves. When he waves
- 12:48Speaker 3: it was Lake Arrowhead was a calm wave camp, calm lake.
- 12:51Speaker 3: I should say that day I said something told me
- 12:54Speaker 3: when Gate, it's now or never, And I dove in
- 12:56Speaker 3: holding the cracker, just to tell you, just to show
- 13:00Speaker 3: you how, you know, I was kind of.
- 13:01Speaker 2: Automatic you How old were you at the time.
- 13:04Speaker 3: I was about ten or eleven.
- 13:05Speaker 2: Wind Gate. If you don't do it now, it's never.
- 13:07Speaker 3: No. When I said to myself when I dove in.
- 13:09Speaker 3: When I saw you jump in, I said wind Gate,
- 13:11Speaker 3: it's now or never and that. But that was that
- 13:14Speaker 3: Italian song It's sometime, and that was going through my head.
- 13:17Speaker 1: It's ten years old, and you're thinking of the song
- 13:19Speaker 1: It's Now or Never, which Elvis made popular a few
- 13:21Speaker 1: years later, right, And you dove in and then what?
- 13:25Speaker 3: And then I saw you. Literally I saw your boy
- 13:28Speaker 3: because I opened my eyes. The water was very green,
- 13:30Speaker 3: it's lake water. I saw the bubbles, and you were
- 13:32Speaker 3: just sinking and you had your arms above your head.
- 13:35Speaker 3: You didn't look like you were paddling your feet or anything,
- 13:37Speaker 3: but didn't look like you were going to do anything
- 13:39Speaker 3: much then just keep sinking. So I just swam underneath
- 13:42Speaker 3: you so that you just kind of came to rest
- 13:45Speaker 3: on my neck and my back and so as I
- 13:47Speaker 3: remember the experience, yeah, I was like riding a pony
- 13:51Speaker 3: or something. Yeah, you're riding a horse. And I just
- 13:53Speaker 3: swam you up to the surface and I swam over
- 13:56Speaker 3: to the shoreline and you got off and you started
- 13:58Speaker 3: walking away, and I just dove back in and I
- 14:01Speaker 3: went over.
- 14:02Speaker 1: And told my mother that this kid saved me. This kid,
- 14:06Speaker 1: and none of the adults could care less.
- 14:08Speaker 3: I've heard you tell the story. Yeah, you said your parents.
- 14:11Speaker 2: Didn't believe here, I don't know that my parents believe
- 14:13Speaker 2: me or not.
- 14:13Speaker 1: Yeah, because I said I jumped into the water and
- 14:15Speaker 1: I was sinking and this kid swam underneath me and
- 14:18Speaker 1: saved me.
- 14:19Speaker 3: That was may Phil Gate. And I'm okay, look at
- 14:25Speaker 3: why why would I doubt it? There you go right there,
- 14:27Speaker 3: Biff this general sean.
- 14:28Speaker 2: Yes, sir, that's what I've been trying to tell Phil.
- 14:30Speaker 2: Why doubt it?
- 14:31Speaker 3: I mean, who You're gonna wait for the real guy
- 14:33Speaker 3: to come forward? That's it exactly, Yes me, Biff wing Gate,
- 14:38Speaker 3: Oh my god, Biff wing Gate. That's the name that
- 14:40Speaker 3: should echoed through time. That's what you know. I'm a
- 14:44Speaker 3: very humble guy, mister Henry. But when he says my
- 14:46Speaker 3: name should echo down through the halls of time, obviously
- 14:50Speaker 3: that's not true. But at least in your life, okay.
- 14:52Speaker 1: I mean, yes, I will give you all due respect, sir,
- 14:55Speaker 1: and I won't sit here and say you can't be
- 14:58Speaker 1: the guy because who is the guy?
- 14:59Speaker 3: Yeah? I said who is the guy?
- 15:01Speaker 1: Then again, you could be just some opportunists to heard
- 15:03Speaker 1: the story.
- 15:04Speaker 3: Oh man, here we go. Oh, Phil, why don't you
- 15:09Speaker 3: believe the guy? Oh Phil, the man saves your life?
- 15:13Speaker 3: Why can't you accept that? Oh? Would you shut up?
- 15:17Speaker 2: Please?
- 15:18Speaker 3: I'm sorry, mister Randy, but it hurts when I hear
- 15:20Speaker 3: something like that. If a man says I was the
- 15:23Speaker 3: guy that saved you that day, and there's no other
- 15:25Speaker 3: man to come forward, well the.
- 15:26Speaker 2: Guy could be dead for him by now. You know
- 15:29Speaker 2: that was many, many years ago. The guy could have
- 15:32Speaker 2: passed on. Whoever it was that saved me. And you're
- 15:34Speaker 2: sure someone saved you, well.
- 15:36Speaker 3: Yes, I was the one. You don't have to worry
- 15:38Speaker 3: about that general. I was the one that swam underneath
- 15:40Speaker 3: that kid and saved him.
- 15:43Speaker 2: You know, here's the thing, Oh man, here we go again.
- 15:46Speaker 3: I knew this.
- 15:47Speaker 2: No hold on for a minute, Biff, who was gonna.
- 15:52Speaker 3: Be hold on?
- 15:54Speaker 2: Put him on hold?
- 15:55Speaker 3: I'm sorry.
- 15:57Speaker 2: Here's the thing I'm willing to say.
- 16:01Speaker 1: For instance, yes, thank you very very much, and interview
- 16:04Speaker 1: you and we can stay in touch. Maybe have you
- 16:06Speaker 1: on the show, tell the story. But are you looking
- 16:10Speaker 1: for money? I didn't mention that, but I said to
- 16:15Speaker 1: mister Dickman, I said, if he brings if you bring
- 16:17Speaker 1: up money, then of course I would say, are you
- 16:20Speaker 1: bringing money up? I'm asking you, are you looking for money?
- 16:23Speaker 3: See, in my opinion, you just brought up the subject
- 16:25Speaker 3: of money, so I would save Okay, okay, what well,
- 16:29Speaker 3: I if someone saves your life, don't you think probably
- 16:34Speaker 3: a monthly stipend or something a general Well that's what
- 16:38Speaker 3: I was gonna say, some kind of a monthly stipeend.
- 16:42Speaker 2: Well you know it now. I don't believe you.
- 16:44Speaker 3: Oh Phil, oh godamn, I shut up, Wingate. Sorry, a
- 16:51Speaker 3: guy telling me that he saved my life.
- 16:53Speaker 1: Hey, mister Henry, I'm the guy that saved your life
- 16:55Speaker 1: way back when you were a little child. And oh,
- 16:57Speaker 1: by the way, you know, as long as we're on
- 16:58Speaker 1: the subject, have you got any that sounds like such
- 17:01Speaker 1: a setup, that sounds like such a con that sounds
- 17:03Speaker 1: like the average freaking you know con that people pull
- 17:06Speaker 1: all the time. So I would you know when you
- 17:08Speaker 1: bring up money automatically, I don't believe you.
- 17:10Speaker 3: Well, all right, okay, if you don't want to believe me,
- 17:12Speaker 3: don't believe me. Okay, but you remember this until the
- 17:14Speaker 3: day you die. Mister Henry, you owe your life to Wingate.
- 17:20Speaker 2: What are you guys looking at I don't know.
- 17:22Speaker 4: It might be worth it, It might be worth How
- 17:24Speaker 4: much are you looking for, mister wind Gate?
- 17:26Speaker 2: Oh come on, will you I have nothing?
- 17:28Speaker 3: I'm not I don't want anything. I don't want any
- 17:29Speaker 3: I don't want this guy's money. Forget it.
- 17:32Speaker 2: Are you looking what?
- 17:32Speaker 3: Four figures?
- 17:33Speaker 2: Five figures a month?
- 17:35Speaker 3: If?
- 17:36Speaker 1: I mean Margaret is not negotiating for me, mister Wingate,
- 17:38Speaker 1: just know that whatever you guys settle on, it's not
- 17:40Speaker 1: what I'm going to agree to.
- 17:41Speaker 3: Okay, Well there you go, Well just relapse.
- 17:44Speaker 2: What would you I would say.
- 17:45Speaker 3: Four figures a month a high four figures? Yeah, we
- 17:48Speaker 3: would have about an eight nine thousand month. That would
- 17:50Speaker 3: that would ease, That would ease, that would have a
- 17:54Speaker 3: you know, that would help me out a lot.
- 17:55Speaker 1: You know, you're going to a dance tonight, right? Yes,
- 17:59Speaker 1: nine thousand bucks would have you at and you're going
- 18:00Speaker 1: to a dance?
- 18:01Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 18:02Speaker 2: What kind of a dance?
- 18:04Speaker 3: Oh boy? Will you get a load of this guy?
- 18:06Speaker 3: What do you think I'm a homosexual or something? No,
- 18:07Speaker 3: I don't.
- 18:08Speaker 2: I'm just wondering.
- 18:08Speaker 3: I've heard of people going to night clubs to dance.
- 18:10Speaker 3: You going to night club? No? And it's not a
- 18:13Speaker 3: dance at a high school or a college. No, No,
- 18:15Speaker 3: I'm much too old for that. Are you going to
- 18:17Speaker 3: a dance at a lodge? Well, they were rented out
- 18:20Speaker 3: the Elks Lodge. But that's where we're just getting to it.
- 18:22Speaker 2: It's a big dance sponsored by who.
- 18:25Speaker 3: You know, you're asking an awful lot of questions. I'm going
- 18:27Speaker 3: to a dance, mister Henry. And I thought that I would,
- 18:30Speaker 3: you know, hopefully I would be able to hear you
- 18:32Speaker 3: talk about this on there. So I was just got
- 18:33Speaker 3: out of the shower. I was putting on Colone and
- 18:36Speaker 3: I was wiping up a little bit. You know, I
- 18:37Speaker 3: get I don't know about you, but I get a
- 18:39Speaker 3: little sweaty, and I put on some dastex. So I
- 18:41Speaker 3: was putting on DESTINEX, put on some jock itch and
- 18:44Speaker 3: I was putting on a jockstrip.
- 18:45Speaker 2: I can't.
- 18:45Speaker 3: I don't give a shit what you were doing. Okay,
- 18:47Speaker 3: you were listening to the show. Yes, okay, so you're
- 18:50Speaker 3: listening to the show and I heard you, and I said, well,
- 18:52Speaker 3: this is a guy, you know, missus Phil Henry. I've
- 18:54Speaker 3: been telling everybody for years that I saved your life.
- 18:57Speaker 2: Yeah, that's the first time I've ever heard your name,
- 18:58Speaker 2: mister Wingate.
- 18:59Speaker 3: Well that's sad. That is just sad. Yeah, mister wi
- 19:03Speaker 3: we'd say on behalf of the people work for mister Henry.
- 19:05Speaker 3: We're glad that he saved him. Thank you very much, sir.
- 19:07Speaker 3: That's the first time anyone has said I'm glad you
- 19:10Speaker 3: did thank you. You're kidding. No, no one has ever
- 19:12Speaker 3: said to me, thank you for saving Phil Henry's life.
- 19:15Speaker 2: Not even Phil.
- 19:16Speaker 3: Well, we just met tonight. I just met the guy tonight. Well, well,
- 19:20Speaker 3: what do you think, Phil?
- 19:22Speaker 1: I can't say thank you to a guy that I
- 19:25Speaker 1: just called, okay, thank you?
- 19:27Speaker 3: Well, see that's not heartfelt. So fuck it.
- 19:30Speaker 1: Hey, look at pal. Watch the language and what's your
- 19:32Speaker 1: attitude on my show?
- 19:34Speaker 3: All right?
- 19:37Speaker 2: Nine grand a month?
- 19:38Speaker 4: Huh?
- 19:39Speaker 3: I think. No, you don't have to pay me anything.
- 19:41Speaker 3: But if somebody say, what are you worth? I'd say
- 19:43Speaker 3: that's a been oft. You know you owe me your life.
- 19:45Speaker 3: But that's okay.
- 19:47Speaker 1: I don't know that I owe you my life. Someone's
- 19:49Speaker 1: going to have to somehow come with more proof than that.
- 19:53Speaker 3: What if I kill myself? What if I die tonight
- 19:55Speaker 3: in an automobile accident, I'm on my way to a
- 19:57Speaker 3: dance with my girlfriend the first time. I'm going to
- 20:00Speaker 3: have some fun for the first time. And I don't
- 20:02Speaker 3: know how long.
- 20:02Speaker 2: And when did you come to work for me?
- 20:04Speaker 3: Well, I started working for Sampur In Corporated last month.
- 20:07Speaker 2: And you've been an engineer.
- 20:08Speaker 3: Yeah, I've been our broadcast engineer, radio engineer, session engineer
- 20:11Speaker 3: all my life. Well, I'm not agreeing to painion nine
- 20:16Speaker 3: thousand a month.
- 20:17Speaker 2: Okay, fuck this? Well, and you don't want money.
- 20:22Speaker 1: You just wanted to say, Hey man, I just want
- 20:24Speaker 1: you to acknowledge that I saved your life.
- 20:26Speaker 3: No, I'm not saying anything, but as long as you
- 20:28Speaker 3: brought up money. Now you're saying no, he's now. I
- 20:30Speaker 3: think Phil's saying no, I've been fuck it, you know.
- 20:33Speaker 2: Okay, goodbye? Hey, wait a minute, looking at me for?

- 21:40Speaker 3: the place. Yeah, he had the time and place. But
- 21:42Speaker 3: it's a story that I've told on the air. Yeah,
- 21:44Speaker 3: but you you told the story in the air. The
- 21:46Speaker 3: little loose ends on it. Here's a guy that comes
- 21:47Speaker 3: forward and says, no, I remember the day I was there,
- 21:50Speaker 3: and he just happens to work for me, works for
- 21:52Speaker 3: the company, Yeah.
- 21:55Speaker 2: Gate, and he wants nine grand a month.
- 21:57Speaker 4: He didn't say that, Phil, He said, what are you
- 22:00Speaker 4: guys offering? No, But at the end of it he goes.
- 22:01Speaker 3: F it, Yeah he did. He went, you know, well,
- 22:03Speaker 3: are you gonna pay me? No? Well, f this and
- 22:05Speaker 3: the horse that it rode in on.
- 22:09Speaker 2: So anyway, thank you for joining the show today.
- 22:11Speaker 3: Folks. That was kind of a sidetrack, but bizarre.
- 22:14Speaker 1: That's that's my life of the last I would say,
- 22:16Speaker 1: over the last oh god month.
- 22:19Speaker 2: But let's focus it down.
- 22:21Speaker 3: Well, you were going to tell this story, but Phil
- 22:23Speaker 3: lost his phone in Florida.
- 22:24Speaker 2: I lost my phone in Florida.
- 22:25Speaker 1: I went back to Florida on Saturday morning to close
- 22:28Speaker 1: up the townhouse that we've been renting, and my landlord,
- 22:32Speaker 1: Gary was there is a great guy. He's coming And
- 22:34Speaker 1: he wasn't there. He was coming the next day, but
- 22:36Speaker 1: I was wanted to make sure everything was closed up
- 22:38Speaker 1: and good and a lock box left the key for
- 22:40Speaker 1: him and all this stuff. And he had you know,
- 22:43Speaker 1: if he if I'd wanted to extend the rent, well
- 22:45Speaker 1: he offered you a month to month, didn't he He
- 22:47Speaker 1: did if I wanted to stay. But life has steered
- 22:50Speaker 1: me in a different direction. So back to California, we come.
- 22:52Speaker 1: But you know, I flew out there on Saturday. And
- 22:55Speaker 1: then let's see what happened on Saturday night. I went
- 22:59Speaker 1: to dinner, but picking up all kinds of stuff, collecting
- 23:02Speaker 1: I don't know, crap.
- 23:03Speaker 3: Well, you had that, those newspapers.
- 23:05Speaker 2: There was some.
- 23:06Speaker 1: Yeah, there was carel a beat, a radio station they
- 23:09Speaker 1: used to listen to as a kid, and they had
- 23:10Speaker 1: a newspaper. There's an early Mad magazine. Stuff that I collect.
- 23:16Speaker 1: Oh God, and you went, what happened to you? I
- 23:19Speaker 1: don't know, something in my throat. Sure it was your throat. Yeah,
- 23:22Speaker 1: it was my throat. So all of that's going down,
- 23:26Speaker 1: And then had dinner. Then the next morning, we're waiting
- 23:29Speaker 1: to get.
- 23:29Speaker 3: The car to the airport.
- 23:34Speaker 2: That's going to take us back to California.
- 23:36Speaker 3: All right, And when I say, I'm talking about Thunder,
- 23:38Speaker 3: my cat, because that's what I was back there primarily
- 23:40Speaker 3: getting Thunder was back there being being cat sat and
- 23:44Speaker 3: I put Thunder in a little cat carrier and took
- 23:47Speaker 3: her back to LA But before that, you know, I
- 23:49Speaker 3: had to get a rental car back to Enterprise. And
- 23:52Speaker 3: now I get an uber back to the townhouse where
- 23:55Speaker 3: all of my luggage is and we're getting ready to leave,
- 23:59Speaker 3: and I tipped this cat because he you know, I
- 24:02Speaker 3: always hit.
- 24:02Speaker 2: I always give these guys good tips because that's just
- 24:04Speaker 2: kind of.
- 24:05Speaker 3: Yeah, you're always mister money bags.
- 24:07Speaker 2: No, that's not it. I just think that people that
- 24:09Speaker 2: work for a living deserve it.
- 24:10Speaker 1: So I gave the guy tip, and then I got
- 24:14Speaker 1: out of the car, and I remember looking at the
- 24:17Speaker 1: phone as I was getting out of the car and thinking,
- 24:19Speaker 1: I'll give this guy a good rating too, and then.
- 24:20Speaker 2: I lost track of that.
- 24:21Speaker 1: That's when I just sort of put the phone down
- 24:24Speaker 1: in my pocket or someone lost track of it and
- 24:25Speaker 1: went into the house and kept on doing what I
- 24:28Speaker 1: was doing until I don't know, maybe a half hour later.
- 24:31Speaker 2: I where's my phone?
- 24:33Speaker 3: Where is my phone?
- 24:36Speaker 1: How many of you guys have had that one too
- 24:38Speaker 1: many times for me? Yeah, I mean that's a bad
- 24:41Speaker 1: feeling the phone. There's only I mean, that's worse than
- 24:44Speaker 1: losing your wallet, in my opinion, I don't know where
- 24:46Speaker 1: my damn phone is. I looked all through this damn place,
- 24:51Speaker 1: and I even looked at the garbage that I was
- 24:53Speaker 1: collecting and putting into bags. I looked at the bags
- 24:55Speaker 1: to see if I went through that garbage. Then I
- 24:57Speaker 1: went out to the dumpster of the garbage gets dumped,
- 24:59Speaker 1: and I looked through that. I must have looked like
- 25:01Speaker 1: to the neighbors, like, what is this is this guy
- 25:02Speaker 1: from California? Look at he's going through the He's going
- 25:04Speaker 1: through the dumpster bill And so I left the dumpster,
- 25:09Speaker 1: went back to the townhouse, looking around, and now I'm
- 25:12Speaker 1: getting depressed. Where the hell are you telling me I
- 25:14Speaker 1: lost my phone? You gotta be kidding me. But that
- 25:18Speaker 1: was the case.
- 25:19Speaker 3: I don't know what happened to it. I couldn't believe
- 25:23Speaker 3: that somehow.
- 25:25Speaker 1: I just I thought maybe I dropped it on the asphalt,
- 25:27Speaker 1: didn't see it going into my back pocket, kicked it.
- 25:29Speaker 1: I don't know what happened to it. But got in
- 25:31Speaker 1: the damn car, got back to the airport, I got
- 25:34Speaker 1: thunder the cat. I got eighty five pieces of luggage.
- 25:37Speaker 1: And I want to just want to thank that guy
- 25:39Speaker 1: William at Orlando International Airport. He works for Delta Airlines.
- 25:44Speaker 1: Who you have to listen to your show? He heard
- 25:47Speaker 1: my show in Orlando.
- 25:48Speaker 3: Yeah, see you're getting He's given you a good he's
- 25:51Speaker 3: given you good service on account he listened to your show.
- 25:54Speaker 2: What am I not supposed to thank the guy?
- 25:55Speaker 4: Well, it's kind of you, you know, using your so
- 25:58Speaker 4: called celebrity.
- 25:59Speaker 3: I didn't do any He's just said to me, himister
- 26:01Speaker 3: and hitter, like you like your show. Well yeah, but.
- 26:04Speaker 2: You know, no, I don't know.
- 26:06Speaker 3: You said there was a big long line of people
- 26:07Speaker 3: waiting while you were standing there gabbing with this guy.
- 26:09Speaker 3: Well yeah, anyway, thank you William for helping me out
- 26:13Speaker 3: than he did. And he gave thunders little carrier a tag.
- 26:18Speaker 3: Now you could take her on the plane with you.
- 26:19Speaker 2: Yeah, I could.
- 26:20Speaker 1: They let me take her on the plane. You got
- 26:22Speaker 1: to put her in under the seat in front of
- 26:24Speaker 1: it on takeoff and landing.
- 26:25Speaker 3: But then they can sit in your lap. And on
- 26:27Speaker 3: my way through Tsa.
- 26:28Speaker 1: Like a dumb ass, I dropped her carrier kind of
- 26:31Speaker 1: rolled off my shoulder.
- 26:33Speaker 3: Oh my god, there you kiddy.
- 26:35Speaker 2: She was fine.
- 26:35Speaker 3: She was fine.
- 26:36Speaker 2: It was just wasn't that much of a thing.
- 26:39Speaker 1: And then you got to carry the cat or I
- 26:41Speaker 1: guess you talk too. You got to carry him through
- 26:43Speaker 1: Tsa right through this little scanner, got her back in
- 26:47Speaker 1: the carrier, got on the damn plane and flew back
- 26:49Speaker 1: to California. And so what happened was I was in
- 26:54Speaker 1: constant contact with my uh you know landlord.
- 26:57Speaker 3: He did he call you or did he text you?
- 27:00Speaker 1: He texted me and that was this morning. And he said,
- 27:04Speaker 1: by the way, Phil, I found your phone. And I'm thinking,
- 27:07Speaker 1: you gotta be kidding me. Where did you find it?
- 27:10Speaker 2: He found it in the townhouse.
- 27:13Speaker 3: I said, where was it?
- 27:14Speaker 1: He said, it was sitting on a windowsill in the
- 27:16Speaker 1: small bedroom, one of the bedrooms.
- 27:18Speaker 2: What an idiot? Me, Yes, of course, you you're kidding me.
- 27:23Speaker 3: Phil. You're getting yourself at big tangle. You're walking all
- 27:26Speaker 3: through the place, going through the garbage. Mister Enery, you
- 27:29Speaker 3: crawled through garbage try to find a phone. It was
- 27:31Speaker 3: on a window sill. God, damn, I gotta agree with them.
- 27:35Speaker 2: See.
- 27:35Speaker 3: I like how you guys take everything, you turn it
- 27:37Speaker 3: into a moral failing on my part, some kind of
- 27:39Speaker 3: a character failing because I was crawling through garbage looking
- 27:41Speaker 3: for a phone. You got you gott understand, mister Henery.
- 27:44Speaker 3: You're looking for your cell phone. And I was on
- 27:46Speaker 3: a windowsill, on a windowsill where birds are chirping and
- 27:50Speaker 3: maybe a little mice are running and dancing about. And
- 27:52Speaker 3: what did you do. You went out and you decided
- 27:53Speaker 3: you wanted to dive into the garbage.
- 27:54Speaker 2: And go lee. I didn't do that.
- 27:57Speaker 3: And you know that, bud Well, I was making.
- 27:59Speaker 2: A point though.
- 27:59Speaker 3: Yeah, had you looked a little harder, you wouldn't have
- 28:02Speaker 3: been swimming in garbage coffee grounds. Oh God, God knows
- 28:06Speaker 3: what you are in field?
- 28:08Speaker 2: Well, I you know, so you got a new phone. Yes,
- 28:12Speaker 2: I got a new phone. And I want to thank
- 28:13Speaker 2: the people at Apple.
- 28:14Speaker 1: And I really want to thank everybody at AT and T
- 28:16Speaker 1: Wireless there in Colorado Boulevard in Pasadena, because what happened
- 28:19Speaker 1: was I bought the phone at Apple. I decided I
- 28:21Speaker 1: got up early Saturday morning and I went right over there.
- 28:24Speaker 2: Was it Saturday or Sunday? I forget when it was.
- 28:26Speaker 2: I forget when I went.
- 28:27Speaker 1: But I went right over to Apple there and they
- 28:30Speaker 1: showed me the phones, and I bought them.
- 28:31Speaker 3: Do you know the big one? Right?
- 28:33Speaker 2: I got the seventeen. I spent the money. I don't know.
- 28:35Speaker 2: Maybe I was shout I'm glad that I lost the
- 28:37Speaker 2: phone because they got a really good phone. But anyway, they.
- 28:41Speaker 1: Said to me, okay, what's your AT and T pen
- 28:43Speaker 1: I don't know, does anybody you do you know yours?
- 28:45Speaker 3: I don't think I have AT and T.
- 28:46Speaker 2: I don't know. I got it written down. Well, I
- 28:49Speaker 2: didn't know.
- 28:49Speaker 3: And so they couldn't hook the phone up to my
- 28:51Speaker 3: phone number. Nice, go here way to do it? Well
- 28:55Speaker 3: what she said, go down to the AT and T store.
- 28:59Speaker 3: They'll do it for you. I did.
- 29:01Speaker 1: I drove down there and they were able to hook
- 29:02Speaker 1: the phone up, and I said to the AT and
- 29:05Speaker 1: T people, you know what you need? You need an
- 29:07Speaker 1: office at Apple. And they said no, thank you, No, no, no, no, no.
- 29:11Speaker 2: No, you're kidding.
- 29:12Speaker 3: No. They said they didn't want to have anything to
- 29:14Speaker 3: do with those people down there. Oh you're lying. You
- 29:16Speaker 3: know what you're trying to do. You're trying to get
- 29:18Speaker 3: some static going between Apple and AT and T. Maybe,
- 29:21Speaker 3: but anyway, it was she sort of did.
- 29:24Speaker 1: She said, yeah, you know what, mister Andy, that that
- 29:25Speaker 1: would be nice, but no, I don't want to go
- 29:27Speaker 1: near those people. Okay, that's just that's like no, cand
- 29:30Speaker 1: she did the whole sign of the cross like it's
- 29:32Speaker 1: a vampire and no she didn't nod. I'm just kidding,
- 29:35Speaker 1: but said they didn't want to have anything to do
- 29:37Speaker 1: with that she said, they're always sending people here and
- 29:41Speaker 1: we're always having to fix their problems.
- 29:44Speaker 3: So she really said that, No, she didn't see what
- 29:46Speaker 3: you're doing there.
- 29:47Speaker 4: Feel is you're trying to cause a problem between AT
- 29:49Speaker 4: and T and Apple get people fired.
- 29:52Speaker 2: No I'm not.
- 29:53Speaker 3: Yes you are. You're trying to create a big country Toms.
- 29:56Speaker 3: So what did they really say that?
- 29:58Speaker 2: Yes she did, Yeah she did.
- 30:03Speaker 1: She said they're always sending people down here because they
- 30:05Speaker 1: can't fix it themselves up there.
- 30:07Speaker 2: But I understand it because.
- 30:08Speaker 3: It's an AT and T problem, not an Apple problem.
- 30:11Speaker 1: Anyway, I was very grateful to get the new phone.
- 30:13Speaker 1: I'm thank you thanking my landlord there Gary. Thanks for
- 30:16Speaker 1: finding the phone, I said, I you know I had
- 30:17Speaker 1: it wiped it.
- 30:18Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm gonna ask you did you wipe it? Now?
- 30:20Speaker 2: What's wiping it?
- 30:20Speaker 3: You take all the information out? Yeah?
- 30:22Speaker 1: You can just have everything cleaned off the phone, man,
- 30:25Speaker 1: all your everything that's on the phone is gone. And
- 30:29Speaker 1: so it's basically just a hunk of metal. And I
- 30:31Speaker 1: told him it's probably a good doorstop or something, but
- 30:34Speaker 1: it ain't no good anymore. So it came back to
- 30:37Speaker 1: California and landed and thunder has been hiding under a
- 30:41Speaker 1: leather chair ever since.
- 30:43Speaker 3: She's okay, Yeah, she's fine.
- 30:45Speaker 2: I'm not.
