- 0:39Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Uh it's an exciting time uh with voices.
- 0:43Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: It is uh yeah, it it's it's fun.
- 0:49Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: It's uh it's getting to be um it's getting to be in the ballpark of probably about a year and a half, two years ago.
- 1:06Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Uh some of the thoughts, some of the ideas, some of the goals uh are slowly working their way through the system.
- 1:21Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And it's uh it's gonna be fun.
- 1:26Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: It's gonna be fun to share it with you.
- 1:28Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Um so watch, listen, take a look at our vast catalog of episodes.
- 1:36Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Uh, we have over 575 episodes.
- 1:41Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Uh welcome if this is your first episode, and welcome back if you've been with us before.
- 1:47Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Welcome to the Voices for Voices family.
- 1:51Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Everybody is uh welcome here, regardless of political beliefs, anything.
- 2:03Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Uh, we're just here as human beings and we talk about a lot of a lot of interesting topics.
- 2:10Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Some are easy, easier than others, meaning that they're not very controversial and some that are.
- 2:22Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Uh, but we think that by mirroring what is going on in the world is one of the best ways to uh utilize our time with our show and our podcast because then it represents because it represents a lot of a lot of people all across the world.
- 2:54Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: We have uh grown exponentially year over year, new countries, new territories, new provinces, new cities, new everything.
- 3:08Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: All four corners of the world we're reaching, and it's exciting, and I share this information a lot of times at the beginning of the shows because I want people to know that we've worked darn hard to be where we're at, and there's so much so much more work to be done, but we've worked so hard to just get to where we're at, to be alive today, and and I think sometimes we do take that for granted.
- 3:55Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Speaking for myself, I do.
- 4:00Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I think, oh, what are we gonna do tomorrow?
- 4:03Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: What are we gonna do next week?
- 4:05Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And you know, we we we do make plans, some are further ahead, and some are a little bit shorter.
- 4:16Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Um, we have planned what we're looking at trying to do, but if we're not alive, then we're not gonna be able to do any of those.
- 4:26Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: But ultimately, for us, it's up to God what he wants us to do.
- 4:33Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: You don't have to be a believer.
- 4:36Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I'm just sharing where I come from.
- 4:41Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So maybe it'll make a little more sense as uh you check out our past episodes, and as you subscribe and join us for all future episodes.
- 4:57Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: We're not we're not done at 575.
- 5:00Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: We're uh well, we're actually past that now by an episode or two.
- 5:06Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: But yeah, we're not we're not stopping.
- 5:09Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: If anything, we're continuing to to speed up, finding new ways to reach uh communities, individuals that we weren't reaching before.
- 5:27Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And and so that by itself just takes takes a little bit of time uh to find how to integrate that into a process.
- 5:39Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And so, right, we have things that we've done before, right?
- 5:45Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: We have maybe a morning routine and an evening routine, and then sometimes a curveball gets thrown in.
- 5:58Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Like for me, braces.
- 6:00Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So I have my morning routine, and then having braces at three different times in my life, that changes a little bit of that morning routine.
- 6:18Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And since it takes a little bit of time for braces just to do their thing, it's not like uh, oh well, I'm just I won't do that today because it'll be done tomorrow.
- 6:38Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: No, I mean a couple years, a year.
- 6:44Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Uh I've I've been through the I've been through the ringer.
- 6:51Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And so other things in life, right?
- 6:55Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: We certain ways that we that we work, things that we do first.
- 7:04Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Like, do we grab our phone and take a look and go and and always go to the mail or yeah, the email?
- 7:18Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Is that like the first thing that like we go to like every day?
- 7:23Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: We go to text messages, do we probably have some kind of uh some kind of pattern uh that we do.
- 7:39Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And then when we when something new comes along, we have to find a way to integrate that to make it work with how our our day and days in the future, how we integrate all those together, because now we have to do an extra thing, and so it can be easy, sometimes it can be hard, uh, but that's the key, is human beings.
- 8:20Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I don't know about animals, but I'm human beings are we're I said we're creatures of habit.
- 8:32Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And while we may see that, sometimes we don't.
- 8:40Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: It takes somebody outside of us to say I knew you would do that, or you're predictable, you know, things like that, and it's okay.
- 8:57Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Uh and then when we get something new put in there, then we gotta figure out how that works, and so pulling it back here with the voices for voices, with our uh kind of our our show drops launch process.
- 9:19Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: There's been different again to reach different people in different areas of the world or that utilize technology in maybe a little bit of a different way, different platform, we have to try, and then we have to find a way to incorporate that or those extra steps into an already kind of fluid process, and so the last oh wow, yeah, Thursday.
- 10:07Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Uh yeah, the last three days I've been working on that, and I gotta find what works, right?
- 10:20Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So we can think and go, oh, well, we want to do this all the way.
- 10:31Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Meaning, okay, if we can if we have forty-five opportunities to reach people in a different uh a different area, a different platform, uh, and then each of those forty-five, there might take two to four minutes, maybe.
- 11:00Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So let's just say there's two.
- 11:07Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: In addition to our process, a regular process, and then there's forty-five bits and pieces that we want to share.
- 11:22Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Well, two times forty-five is ninety.
- 11:26Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So that's an extra hour and a half added to a process.
- 11:35Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And so we just think about that and go.
- 11:40Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Does it make sense to do all forty-five?
- 11:46Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And if so, okay.
- 11:50Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: We just have to be have to be okay with the nated at least hour and a half every episode.
- 12:04Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Or do we say, oh, instead of 45, let's do 25.
- 12:13Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And we cut that down to 50 minutes extra.
- 12:19Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And so these are the thoughts and the processes that are going through my mind and our team's mind when we are doing any process, but especially when we're looking at new additions like what I'm talking about.
- 12:43Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Like, does it make sense to spend an extra hour and a half or 90 minutes?
- 12:54Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Because then we run into things where there may be limits.
- 13:00Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Well, you can only do a certain task so many times before you have to wait a period of time.
- 13:15Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And so we're talking about the nuts and the bolts, the mechanics.
- 13:19Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: This isn't an exactly super entertaining episode, but the thing is, the episodes don't come out without these processes, without these steps being completed.
- 13:42Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So that's the deal.
- 13:46Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: You see me, you listen to me.
- 13:49Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: You see our guests, you listen to our guests.
- 13:54Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: But there's a lot of steps that go in between filming, and even before the filming, lining and booking guests, time zones, making sure that okay, is this guest in my time zone?
- 14:19Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: If so, okay.
- 14:21Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So when we talk about time, like okay, we'll we'll film at noon on a particular day, and it'll be noon for both of us.
- 14:34Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: If it's a different time zone, then we have to take that into account.
- 14:41Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And those back and forth emails or DMs, some of them can come quick and some of them can take quite a while.
- 14:51Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And so we may go, oh, what that's not a big deal.
- 14:57Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: No, it's not a big deal.
- 14:59Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I mean, if we want to guess, yeah, it is a big deal, but we can't force people to respond in a certain amount of time.
- 15:10Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I'm as impatient as it comes.
- 15:16Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: However, there's nothing I can do.
- 15:23Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I have to wait for that reply or those replies.
- 15:29Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And it's not until those replies that things start to get closer to be in motion.
- 15:39Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Like, okay, we have our date, we have our time, we have our topics, and then it's just the time between now and then when the date and time of the filming is scheduled for us to film that particular episode.
- 16:10Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And so watching and listening skips a lot of steps to get to the point where you're you're watching and listening to us.
- 16:25Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And I know you probably don't care.
- 16:27Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Like, why is he talking about this?
- 16:28Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: It makes no difference.
- 16:30Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Well, it it might to some people, there might be a person that's like, I want to start a podcast, I want to start a show.
- 16:40Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Looks pretty easy, and some may have more knowledge coming in than I did getting started, right?
- 16:53Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: We all come in at different levels, different levels of experience, different ages, different uh all those.
- 17:03Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And so if you have more experience, let's say you had a project in school, and and so the the names of you know the audio video programs, you know, and so you can go, okay.
- 17:28Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I know there's three, and so I'm gonna look at their website, see which one uh which one I want to use, and then you gotta sign up, and you know, you do all like and that part's not fun, but it has to be done because if you're gonna have a guest on the show, you have to have a and and they're not gonna be with you if they're a thousand miles away, unless you're planning to travel there, which you may, maybe you are, or maybe the guest is traveling to you, and then we do an in-person show, and so we can just film that with the camera, either on our phone or iPads, netbooks, what whatever that may be.
- 18:34Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: GoPro, I mean, there's so many, so many options out there, and you just have to find out what works for you, and and so as I mentioned earlier, once you get started, there are gonna be things you're gonna learn, there's gonna be things that you already know, and there's gonna be things that you're gonna think, okay, on the next episode that I do, I want to try something different.
- 19:07Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I want to try this feature, I want to try that feature, and those are the new things that I'm talking about.
- 19:16Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Does it take extra time?
- 19:18Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Is it automatically programmed into the software you're using?
- 19:29Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Like the hardest part is getting set up.
- 19:36Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: That way when you know curveballs come, it's like, okay.
- 19:43Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: We have two or three different options for putting this episode together.
- 19:50Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And after we've do the episode, after we film it, then comes a lot of administrative work.
- 20:00Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: A lot of copying and pasting, a lot of uploading, a lot of converting, a lot of thinking of names and descriptions and hashtags and all those things take time.
- 20:25Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Some might take less time, some may take more time.
- 20:33Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: But it takes time.
- 20:37Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Maybe it takes twenty minutes, maybe it takes two minutes per episode.
- 20:46Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So those two minutes just goes into the process.
- 20:56Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I don't necessarily have like a I have everything that I need readily available, so when I'm finished filming, I can get started.
- 21:17Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Sometimes we don't.
- 21:19Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Like if we're traveling and we're doing like an on-location episode, it's a it's a lot different.
- 21:28Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: In some ways it's easier, some ways it adds a little bit of work, a little bit of extra work to taking what is being filmed and has been completed film and turning that into what you see and what you hear on whatever platform you listen and view the voices for voices.
- 22:00Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Podcast TV show, so I think it's just a good refresher that we're talking through these things because I've been watching watching shows, and they're talking about different processes of like the music industry of record labels and artists and how artists get discovered, and they sign a deal with the record label, and how the money gets split up from touring, from uh digital downloads, from merchandise, all those things.
- 23:04Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And so I started to think I think it'd be a good good time to do a an episode on just some of some of the work that goes into putting a podcast and a TV show together.
- 23:24Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: You may already be you may already be doing that.
- 23:27Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: You may already have it.
- 23:29Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: You may already have over 575 episodes.
- 23:34Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Every episode we like to think we're getting a little bit better.
- 23:40Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Sometimes we get comments and people are not very kind.
- 23:48Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Uh we're all human, we all make mistakes, we all.
- 24:08Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: That'd be fine with me.
- 24:13Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Because me and the guests on our show are representing people all across the world.
- 24:31Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And we know nobody's perfect.
- 24:35Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Even the person leaving the comment isn't perfect.
- 24:39Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Which I find that to be very interesting.
- 24:48Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: We could use a little more kindness in the world, I think.
- 24:57Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: But if you have a show, keep going.
- 25:02Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Keep that tenacity, keep that work ethic, keep modifying, making it a little bit more efficient.
- 25:23Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Or just go at your own speed.
- 25:26Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Don't worry about how efficient it is.
- 25:29Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: For me, there's probably probably some algorithm, some math that I could do that could put every every aspect, all the different steps of what has to be done from before even booking a guest, or if I'm gonna do a solo show to the filming.
- 26:03Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Are you gonna have a logo shirt on or not?
- 26:09Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I have a logo shirt on, but the logo is below, can't be seen.
- 26:16Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: But we have over my shoulder, you have our logo, and so even something like that.
- 26:30Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Are their clothes washed?
- 26:32Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Are they ready to wear?
- 26:33Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: You know what I mean?
- 26:34Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Like silly things like that that we would go, whoa, that's an easy yeah, it is.
- 26:42Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Is it hard?
- 26:43Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: No, not usually, it can be, not usually, it just depends.
- 26:53Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Some people they're they can't do that on their own.
- 26:59Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So they may need some help.
- 27:04Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So they have to see if they're gonna wear a logo shirt or a hat or a beanie in the winter time.
- 27:24Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: All these things go into it, come a little bit, they become a little bit easier over time.
- 27:33Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: We still gotta do them.
- 27:37Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: If you want to wear a logo shirt, you don't have any logo shirts available, and you're have an episode that you're starting in 10 minutes, you're not gonna be able to wear a logo shirt.
- 27:48Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Or you may find out, like what I'm finding out, that the logo on this shirt is below the camera.
- 27:58Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So when I design new shirts, I have to move the logo up.
- 28:06Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Thanks for joining us.
- 28:08Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Give us a thumbs up, like, follow, subscribe, share, reshare, repost, word, word of mouth, reach out to 25 connections in your phone, share the voices for voices, podcasts, and TV show with them.
- 28:21Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: We greatly appreciate that.
- 28:23Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Until next time, let's celebrate all the voices in the world, and let's also be a voice for not only ourselves, but somebody in need.
- 28:33Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Thank you so much for sending our love and support your way, and we'll see you on the next episode.
- 28:40Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Bye bye for now.
