- 0:00Speaker 1: You're listening to Hawk Talk with former Seahawks wide receiver
- 0:04Speaker 1: Michael Bumpus, powered by Seahawks dot Com. Now here's your host,
- 0:09Speaker 1: NASA Choby. Welcome to another edition of Hawk Talk the
- 0:13Speaker 1: Sea Hoss getting ready to take on the Atlanta Falcons
- 0:17Speaker 1: from Atlanta this weekend. He's Michael Bumpings some NASA Choby
- 0:20Speaker 1: ready to get you ready for Thursday night, atl shouty.
- 0:24Speaker 1: I'm gonna get it jumped off right away because we've
- 0:25Speaker 1: got some good news. Bump Yeah, some good news, a
- 0:28Speaker 1: little injury update. We've got people returning to practice. Julian Love,
- 0:31Speaker 1: Jared Reed, Driek, we Young have all been designated for
- 0:34Speaker 1: a return to practice, which is great news. That doesn't
- 0:36Speaker 1: necessarily mean they're gonna play this weekend, but we're getting
- 0:38Speaker 1: a lot closer. Those are three guys that are mainstays
- 0:40Speaker 1: on this football team, bump. But I'm excited for what
- 0:42Speaker 1: Jay Love can bring when he's ready to go.
- 0:44Speaker 2: Man, Jay Love, We've when we started the season, the
- 0:48Speaker 2: dB room was thick, it was deep, and then slowly
- 0:51Speaker 2: guys started to drop. Man, it started it felt like
- 0:53Speaker 2: it started with Jay Love. So to have him back
- 0:55Speaker 2: and congratulating him being nominated for the Walter Payton Award.
- 0:58Speaker 1: I saw that video. That was cool. So not only
- 1:00Speaker 1: are you getting a ball or back, of getting a
- 1:02Speaker 1: good person back too. Julian loves the stand up dude.
- 1:04Speaker 1: He's the type of guy. I mean, he's a great father,
- 1:06Speaker 1: great person in his locker room, so all deserved. Hopefully
- 1:09Speaker 1: he can win the whole thing. But now him on
- 1:10Speaker 1: the football field, it's crazy. He's missed nine games, Bump, Yes,
- 1:13Speaker 1: that's insane. I mean, now you add him back to
- 1:16Speaker 1: this dB room, things you get dangerous. So definitely excited
- 1:19Speaker 1: about that. We'll watch the Status of the Week goes
- 1:21Speaker 1: on to see if we'll make it back this week
- 1:22Speaker 1: or we'll be the weeks to come. But it's good
- 1:24Speaker 1: to know that his return is on the horizon. Let's
- 1:27Speaker 1: jump right into one talking about those Atlanta Falcons. What's
- 1:29Speaker 1: on tap? What's on tap? Atlanta Falcons Bump four and eight,
- 1:37Speaker 1: third place in the NFC South, only behind the Saints.
- 1:39Speaker 1: I was gonna say last, but I forgot about them Saints.
- 1:41Speaker 1: Say them Aints when you look at this right team, Bump.
- 1:44Speaker 1: You got lost to the Buccaneers, lost to the Panthers,
- 1:47Speaker 1: lost to the forty nine Ers, Dolphins, Patriots, Colts, Panthers,
- 1:51Speaker 1: and Jets. After starting three and two, the Falcons have
- 1:53Speaker 1: lost six of their last seven games. You only win
- 1:56Speaker 1: coming in that stretch was against the two and ten
- 1:58Speaker 1: Saints two weeks ago. The Falcons quarterback Michael Pennix. Obviously
- 2:02Speaker 1: everyone out here knows former UW Husky you stand out
- 2:05Speaker 1: knee injury cost him the season. Kirk Cousins got his
- 2:07Speaker 1: job back and he's been okay, one to one record
- 2:10Speaker 1: since Penix has been hurt bump. But this past weekend
- 2:13Speaker 1: they lost a heartbreaker to the Jets.
- 2:15Speaker 2: Yeah, man, that's a Whenever you lose to the Jets,
- 2:17Speaker 2: that's always a tough one. Let's just get to the
- 2:20Speaker 2: fourth quarter with this one. The Falcons took a twenty
- 2:22Speaker 2: four to seventeen lead after an a play seventy four
- 2:24Speaker 2: yard drive ending with a nine yard touchdown reception by
- 2:28Speaker 2: David Seals. The Jets bounced back with the fifteen play
- 2:32Speaker 2: sixty five yard drive with a ten yard touchdown run
- 2:34Speaker 2: from Tyrod Taylor, who's still hanging around his league. Good
- 2:37Speaker 2: for you, man, that tied it up at twenty four.
- 2:40Speaker 1: Yeah, and oh man, this is one of the Falcons
- 2:43Speaker 1: probably thought they have both teams. They would trade three
- 2:46Speaker 1: straight punts. On the final drive, the Jets take advantage
- 2:48Speaker 1: a good field position. Then on they had to go
- 2:49Speaker 1: nineteen yards kick the game winning field goal for Nick Folk,
- 2:52Speaker 1: a fifty six yard game winner. Crazy thing about this
- 2:55Speaker 1: he was teammates with coach Glenn Yeah, that's how long
- 2:58Speaker 1: this man has been in the league.
- 2:59Speaker 2: Nick Folk played soccer against each other growing up in California.
- 3:03Speaker 1: Nuts man. Can't believe he's still playing doing his thing. Man.
- 3:05Speaker 1: But in that game, obviously the Falcon's going to lose
- 3:09Speaker 1: this game. But Kirk Cousins, he was twenty one to
- 3:11Speaker 1: thirty three, two hundred and thirty four yards, one touchdown,
- 3:13Speaker 1: zero interceptions. Cousins did set a couple records though. He
- 3:17Speaker 1: has now two hundred ninety one career touchdown passes, passing
- 3:20Speaker 1: Hall of Famer Johnny Unitis for seventeenth all time. Also
- 3:23Speaker 1: in that game, Bejon Robinson. He's bond dude. We're talking
- 3:26Speaker 1: a lot about him. Twenty three carries, one hundred and
- 3:28Speaker 1: forty two yards one touchdown, also had fifty one yards
- 3:31Speaker 1: on five receptions. He's an absolute dual threat. I kill
- 3:33Speaker 1: you there Kyle Pitt seven receptions eighty two yards and
- 3:36Speaker 1: for the Jets, Tyro Taylor ten of thirty three yikes
- 3:39Speaker 1: one hundred and seventy two yards, one touchdown. Prestall did
- 3:43Speaker 1: his thing. Jets find a way to win. But the
- 3:46Speaker 1: Falcons bump. We were going to talk a lot about this.
- 3:48Speaker 1: I look at this team. I even look at the numbers.
- 3:51Speaker 1: Some of these numbers are bad. They should not be
- 3:53Speaker 1: four and eight. They shouldn't.
- 3:54Speaker 2: There's a lot of talent over there, man, a lot
- 3:56Speaker 2: of talent, but you gotta put it all together. You
- 3:58Speaker 2: can have all the talent in the world, but you
- 4:00Speaker 2: gotta be consistent. Let's look at these guys. When it
- 4:02Speaker 2: comes to head to head matchup. By the numbers, the
- 4:04Speaker 2: Hawks the ninth rank offense, eighteens running the rock, ninth
- 4:08Speaker 2: passing it, and third when it comes to scoring average
- 4:10Speaker 2: in twenty nine point two. The Falcons seventeenth overall offense,
- 4:14Speaker 2: ninth running the football, eighteenth throwing that thing, and twenty six.
- 4:17Speaker 2: When it comes to points per game, they are scoring
- 4:19Speaker 2: twenty point three.
- 4:21Speaker 1: Yeah, they have a tough time getting the end zone.
- 4:23Speaker 1: That's their huge thing. I mean, they're obviously they're doing okay.
- 4:25Speaker 1: They're middle of the pack other stats twenty six, though
- 4:27Speaker 1: in points not good. Who got. In defensive numbers, the
- 4:29Speaker 1: Seahawks are up to six in the NFL and yards
- 4:32Speaker 1: per game two hundred and eighty nine, second best rush
- 4:34Speaker 1: defense in the NFL, only allowing eighty eight yards per game,
- 4:37Speaker 1: eleventh allowing two hundred passing yards, and third in points
- 4:40Speaker 1: allowed per game at just eighteen. The Falcons their fifteenth
- 4:43Speaker 1: overall total defense, twenty fifth when it comes to stop
- 4:46Speaker 1: in the run, eighth when it comes to stop in
- 4:48Speaker 1: the pass, in seventeenth. In points per game interception, Seahawks
- 4:52Speaker 1: have thirteen, the Falcons have nine. And again they they
- 4:55Speaker 1: bring pressure again that they're you just look at them
- 4:58Speaker 1: and you go, man four and eight. Still can't get
- 5:00Speaker 1: off that. But it is what it is, National Football League.
- 5:02Speaker 1: Who's just starting quarterback, you still got to produce.
- 5:05Speaker 2: Yeah, it's about holdstoking to a boil today. And I'm like,
- 5:08Speaker 2: it's just about connecting the dots. That you can connect
- 5:11Speaker 2: three dots and skip the fourth one. Now you're starting
- 5:13Speaker 2: all over again. That's what I see when I feel
- 5:15Speaker 2: when I watched this team play, is that they just
- 5:17Speaker 2: can't put enough drives together in defensive stops together.
- 5:21Speaker 1: Team can't get right. Is that where saying get right
- 5:23Speaker 1: with talent? Lots of talent. Man, We'll see if Rahee
- 5:27Speaker 1: Morrison get things going over there. But let's take a
- 5:29Speaker 1: look at these two teams. Know the history, no your history.
- 5:34Speaker 1: Seahawks lea the all time series thirteen to nine, thirteen
- 5:37Speaker 1: and seven in the regular season, oh and two in
- 5:38Speaker 1: the postseason. Most recently, these teams played last year in October.
- 5:42Speaker 1: Seahawks snapped the three game losing streak at the time,
- 5:44Speaker 1: beat the Falcons thirty four to fourteen. Hawks jumped out
- 5:46Speaker 1: to a ten point lead. Ken Walker had a big touchdown.
- 5:49Speaker 1: Dk Metcalf had a big touchdown before the half. You
- 5:51Speaker 1: have seventeen to seven. Drake London had a pretty good
- 5:54Speaker 1: game against Seahawks. He made a three point game, then
- 5:56Speaker 1: ken Walker in the second half he had a seventeen
- 5:58Speaker 1: yard touchdown, and then boy Mafe had a strip sack.
- 6:01Speaker 1: Derek All picks up, runs it back for touchdown. Seahawks
- 6:04Speaker 1: get the job done. And cool thing about that game
- 6:06Speaker 1: is al was Kobe Bryant's first real start at safety.
- 6:08Speaker 1: Remember Shawn Jenkins was the start to begin the season,
- 6:11Speaker 1: he took over Josh job so I got some play
- 6:13Speaker 1: time in that game as well, which is pretty cool.
- 6:16Speaker 1: Jason also had a thirty five yard past the DK
- 6:18Speaker 1: metcalfe and if you remember that, I do. We're decad
- 6:21Speaker 1: to go up and get it at the end of that.
- 6:23Speaker 1: But uh yeah, interesting game there and when you look
- 6:26Speaker 1: back at it. Kirk Cousins for the Falcons twenty four
- 6:28Speaker 1: to two thirty two, one touchdown, two interceptions, b Jean
- 6:32Speaker 1: Robinson one hundred three yards and twenty one carries. He
- 6:35Speaker 1: rushed for one hundred yards. The Seahawks gave up one
- 6:37Speaker 1: hundred yards the following week last year against Buffalo, and
- 6:39Speaker 1: then since then they have not allowed a one hundred yard
- 6:41Speaker 1: rush that one, So hoping the Seahawks have a similar
- 6:44Speaker 1: experience down in Atlanta again taking over Mercedes Benz Stadium. Bump.
- 6:48Speaker 1: But let's flip it back to what's going on in
- 6:50Speaker 1: the division. What's the word the Seahawks or the NFC
- 6:57Speaker 1: West Champs again, what's the word in the west On
- 7:02Speaker 1: Hawk talk? All Right, it's all tied up at the top.
- 7:04Speaker 2: You get the Rams at ninety three, the Hawks at
- 7:06Speaker 2: nine and three, nine ers nine and four won't go
- 7:08Speaker 2: away and the Cardinals three n nine. The Rams in
- 7:11Speaker 2: the Seahawks are tied at nine and three at the
- 7:13Speaker 2: top of the NBC West for the best record in
- 7:15Speaker 2: the NFC. The Chicago Bears had the number one seed
- 7:18Speaker 2: at the moment because of their conference record.
- 7:20Speaker 1: The Rams at the tie breaker over the Seattle Seahalfs
- 7:22Speaker 1: because of that head to head win. But we all
- 7:24Speaker 1: know that rematch is coming up Thursday night.
- 7:26Speaker 2: Take care of this swim, but Thursday Night football on
- 7:29Speaker 2: the sixteenth, that's see me week sixteen. It's coming up.
- 7:31Speaker 2: But now the Hawks control their own destiny. All they
- 7:34Speaker 2: gotta do is win. Thanks to the Panthers last week
- 7:36Speaker 2: beating the Rams, all the Hawks have to do is win.
- 7:38Speaker 1: No, you love it. That's probably gonna be one of
- 7:40Speaker 1: the biggest games of the season, assuming the Seahawks continue
- 7:42Speaker 1: to take care of business Man and the Panthers. It's
- 7:44Speaker 1: hard to get a read on these this team, man,
- 7:46Speaker 1: they are They've canals over there, a lot of former
- 7:48Speaker 1: Seahawks employees down there and there, and they're figuring it out.
- 7:51Speaker 1: They're kind of up and down. They're kind of a
- 7:52Speaker 1: roller coaster season. The Rams six game win streak throw
- 7:55Speaker 1: was snapped on the road against Carolina. Bryce Young, though
- 7:58Speaker 1: love like Bryce Young as a human being. I see him
- 8:01Speaker 1: have success, especially after all the struggles he had early
- 8:04Speaker 1: in his career. Fifteen to twenty two hunder six yards,
- 8:06Speaker 1: three touchdowns, two of those were on fourth downs, and
- 8:09Speaker 1: Bryce Young became the youngest player in NFL history. He
- 8:12Speaker 1: now has eleven game winning drives in the fourth quarter overtime.
- 8:14Speaker 1: That's wow, sneaky eleven passing Josh Allen. In that game,
- 8:18Speaker 1: trailing twenty eight twenty four, Young led the Panthers on
- 8:21Speaker 1: a six place sixty five yard drive, ending with a
- 8:23Speaker 1: forty three yard touchdown to McMillan on a fourth and two.
- 8:26Speaker 1: Take a thirty one to twenty four lead Panthers defense,
- 8:28Speaker 1: they would seal the deal sack fumble on Matthew Stafford.
- 8:31Speaker 1: They would get into a fourth down conversion or third
- 8:34Speaker 1: down conversion and win the game thirty one twenty four.
- 8:37Speaker 1: Panthers the intercepted Stafford twice, which has been incredibly hard
- 8:40Speaker 1: to do. This year, the thirty seven year old had
- 8:43Speaker 1: an NFL record twenty eight straight touchdown passed without interception,
- 8:46Speaker 1: and former seak Mike Jack. Shout out Mike Jack return
- 8:50Speaker 1: one of those for a touchdown Stafford. He finished the
- 8:53Speaker 1: day eighteen of twenty eight two forty three, two touchdowns,
- 8:56Speaker 1: two interceptions Blake Koram and Kyron Williams. They combined one
- 8:59Speaker 1: hundred fifty three yar and two touchdowns. Hooka had an
- 9:02Speaker 1: insane catch. Yeah did. He did only finish the day
- 9:05Speaker 1: with seventy two yard six reception. That catch was nuts.
- 9:07Speaker 1: Huge loss for the Rams. Again, I'm hoping it's going
- 9:09Speaker 1: to be a game changer for the Seahawks moving forward.
- 9:11Speaker 1: The Rams will play the Cardinals on Sunday.
- 9:14Speaker 2: Yeah, biggest Panthers, appreciate you in your service to the
- 9:16Speaker 2: NFC West. Let's talk about the forty nine Ers and
- 9:19Speaker 2: the Browns. The forty nine Ers, like I said, aren't
- 9:21Speaker 2: going away. They just win. They won three out of
- 9:24Speaker 2: four of their last games, including the twenty eight It
- 9:26Speaker 2: was twenty six to eight win over the Cleveland Browns.
- 9:29Speaker 2: The Browns did lead, it was eight to seven, but
- 9:32Speaker 2: San Francisco scored the next nineteen points, coasting to a victory.
- 9:37Speaker 2: The biggest highlight of this game was rock Perty's two
- 9:40Speaker 2: yard touchdown where he hit the Dougie. I didn't think
- 9:42Speaker 2: he had that in him. Oh man, I don't think
- 9:44Speaker 2: he had that in him. Rock Perdy, I judged you.
- 9:47Speaker 2: I judge the book by his cover. I apologize. Apparently
- 9:50Speaker 2: he promised his teammates he would have more fun and
- 9:52Speaker 2: celebrated if he scored. He saw Kittle's reaction, he couldn't
- 9:55Speaker 2: believe it, and he made good on that promise.
- 9:57Speaker 1: Yeah. Man, he was like, he was surprised to say
- 9:59Speaker 1: he was really good. Prize that guy is the white
- 10:00Speaker 1: guy with a little motion. He said, I texted my
- 10:03Speaker 1: buddy's ACTE's worse for the forty nine ers, and I
- 10:05Speaker 1: was like, Bro, that surprised me because it was clean.
- 10:08Speaker 1: It was clean. I was in college of twenty ten. Yes,
- 10:11Speaker 1: now it was clean.
- 10:13Speaker 2: Party was sixteen and twenty nine, one seventy eighty one touchdown.
- 10:16Speaker 2: Christian McCaffey has seventy four total yards on twenty four
- 10:18Speaker 2: touches in a touchdown. Kittle let all receivers with sixty
- 10:21Speaker 2: seven yards and four receptions. On the other side, Shoulder Sanders,
- 10:24Speaker 2: he was all right. Sixteen and twenty five, one forty
- 10:26Speaker 2: nine one touchdown. The Browns had two crucial mistakes on
- 10:29Speaker 2: special teams that gave him a long pump return and
- 10:31Speaker 2: they muffed the plump. On the bright side, for the Browns,
- 10:33Speaker 2: Miles Garrett still balling nineteen sacks of the season. He
- 10:37Speaker 2: needs four more to pass Michael strahanm with twenty two
- 10:39Speaker 2: and a half and tj for the all time single
- 10:42Speaker 2: season record.
- 10:43Speaker 1: That's going to happen. Yeah, I mean, he said, I
- 10:45Speaker 1: think three games this year, at least three or four.
- 10:47Speaker 1: We had three sacks in that game. Yeah, mm hmm.
- 10:50Speaker 1: I mean, hey, if your Miles Garrett, just get yours, man,
- 10:52Speaker 1: get yours. It's all you can do. Yeah, that's a
- 10:56Speaker 1: tough situation down there. But the Niners again, they're right there.
- 10:58Speaker 1: They're one, they're only trailing, and the Seahawks one loss
- 11:01Speaker 1: and lost column. So we'll see what happens. They're not
- 11:03Speaker 1: going away, and I'll spare you the details of the
- 11:06Speaker 1: Cardinals of bucks Man. Cardinals are competitive. They lost twenty
- 11:08Speaker 1: seventeen and they're now three to nine on the season,
- 11:11Speaker 1: officially eliminated from playoff contention. But Cardinals, if you're listening,
- 11:16Speaker 1: your job is not done. You play the Rams twice, okay, contribute,
- 11:20Speaker 1: y'all can't go anywhere, so help us out contribute. That's
- 11:23Speaker 1: what I'm saying. Pull your part. Let's flip things back
- 11:26Speaker 1: to these Atlanta Falcons who were playing on Sunday. Time
- 11:28Speaker 1: to man up. Hey, who you got, who you got?
- 11:31Speaker 1: You know what time it is? Man up? Man up, brother,
- 11:33Speaker 1: Man up, man up. On Hawk Talk, we always start
- 11:37Speaker 1: with the quarterbacks, and that's gonna be no different this week.
- 11:39Speaker 1: Looking at Kirk Cousins taking on this Seahawks defense, and
- 11:42Speaker 1: Kirk Cousins man, he's been on a hell of a journey. Yeah,
- 11:45Speaker 1: he's an interesting one too because he's had some really
- 11:48Speaker 1: good moments in this league. Obviously, he's thrown for over
- 11:50Speaker 1: forty thousand yards in this league, two hundred ninety one touchdowns,
- 11:53Speaker 1: four Pro Bowl selections. He started as RG three's backup
- 11:56Speaker 1: in Washington, worked his way up, did really well in Washington.
- 11:59Speaker 1: People for get that he was one of the first
- 12:01Speaker 1: people have a fully guaranteed contract when he signed with Minnesota,
- 12:04Speaker 1: which was earth shattering. It's happening a lot more now,
- 12:06Speaker 1: but at the time, huge deal in Minnesota. Six strong seasons,
- 12:09Speaker 1: three Pro Bowls, a couple of Playoff appearances, and you know,
- 12:13Speaker 1: he did his thing. He gets hurt. They make a decision.
- 12:15Speaker 1: They go with JJ McCarthy. He signs a huge deal
- 12:18Speaker 1: with the Falcons. He's probably sitting pretty a movie. Good,
- 12:20Speaker 1: everything's good, more guaranteed money. Then they draft Michael Penix. Like, okay,
- 12:24Speaker 1: that feels kind of weird, and he just didn't play
- 12:26Speaker 1: great last year. He started the season cool. Yeah, the
- 12:28Speaker 1: first five games he was swags surfing. Everything was good
- 12:31Speaker 1: down in Atlanta. But then you know, fourteen games he got benched.
- 12:35Speaker 1: Through the year, he was three zero three for four
- 12:36Speaker 1: to fifty three three and eight yards, eighteen touchdowns. But
- 12:39Speaker 1: what got him was taking care of the rock sixteen interceptions.
- 12:42Speaker 1: Was led the National Football League. He was matched for
- 12:45Speaker 1: Michael Penix. Penis finished the season insert this year, Penicks
- 12:49Speaker 1: gets hurt. Now Cousins has a chance to get his
- 12:51Speaker 1: job back and really just to show the I think
- 12:53Speaker 1: the rest of the league that he can still play
- 12:55Speaker 1: if he can catch on for another job. So far
- 12:57Speaker 1: this year, sixty nine to one away, sixty three completion
- 13:00Speaker 1: per six and eighty three yards, three touchdowns, one interception,
- 13:04Speaker 1: and he channel the Kirk Cousins of old. That's one
- 13:06Speaker 1: thing that we're gonna look at here. Regardless, bump, He's
- 13:09Speaker 1: not gonna look like Mac Brostner. Nah, he's not. We're
- 13:12Speaker 1: gonna play a legitimate quarterback yet this weekend, Kirk. When
- 13:15Speaker 1: he when he's on point, take care of the football,
- 13:17Speaker 1: he can still play. So it'll be interesting see how
- 13:19Speaker 1: the Seahoff defense matches up.
- 13:20Speaker 2: He's a streaky player, man, he's and that's all they
- 13:23Speaker 2: need right now, just for him to go on a
- 13:24Speaker 2: little run.
- 13:24Speaker 1: So let's stop that.
- 13:25Speaker 2: I was talking about our quarterback, Sam Donald in the
- 13:28Speaker 2: offense didn't have their best day, but they did enough, right,
- 13:31Speaker 2: did enough to get that deb Donald was sixteen. E's
- 13:33Speaker 2: give me four to twenty six one twenty eight, zero touchdowns,
- 13:36Speaker 2: zero interceptions.
- 13:37Speaker 1: I like that one, and the Vikers will blitz it
- 13:40Speaker 1: man blitzing.
- 13:41Speaker 2: According to the next next Gen Stats, Donald was blitzed
- 13:44Speaker 2: on a career high sixty three percent of his dropbacks.
- 13:46Speaker 2: He also faced quick pressure on twenty three percent of
- 13:49Speaker 2: his drawbacks. We knew this was going down, We knew
- 13:52Speaker 2: this was going to happen. But you got a nice
- 13:54Speaker 2: little stat for us up there too.
- 13:56Speaker 1: Yeah No, And the thing about the thing about uh
- 13:59Speaker 1: about darn is what he's able to do and how
- 14:01Speaker 1: he's able to figure things out. What I love is
- 14:03Speaker 1: that he's still one of the best in the National
- 14:04Speaker 1: Football League, which is crazy because he look at him,
- 14:07Speaker 1: seventh in passing yards, still number one in yards per
- 14:10Speaker 1: past to ten, number one in yards per completion, seventh
- 14:13Speaker 1: and pass the rating ninth in QBR sixty completion percentage.
- 14:15Speaker 1: And this is even after the game that he had
- 14:19Speaker 1: against the Vikings, which wasn't up to his standard in
- 14:22Speaker 1: terms of throwing the rock and all that thing. So
- 14:24Speaker 1: he's still doing his thing, which I love to see.
- 14:26Speaker 1: But he the other thing too. Got a shout though.
- 14:29Speaker 1: Line Yep, even though they're giving up four sacks, there
- 14:32Speaker 1: are still number two in the NFL, only giving up
- 14:34Speaker 1: fifteen sacks this entire season.
- 14:36Speaker 2: Okay, let's call big the bigs out there. I see you,
- 14:39Speaker 2: I see you. All right, let's go to Beijon Robinson.
- 14:43Speaker 2: He's the best running back in the game to me. Now,
- 14:46Speaker 2: the yards might not be there stick out over nine
- 14:48Speaker 2: hundred and five hundred receive him, but the way he
- 14:50Speaker 2: moves is crazy. This guy is a baller, so pay
- 14:54Speaker 2: attention to him. He was the first round pick eighth
- 14:56Speaker 2: overall out of Texas in twenty twenty three. He was
- 14:59Speaker 2: All American over there. Since entering the NFL, he's shown
- 15:02Speaker 2: that he belongs man. As a rookie, he rush for
- 15:05Speaker 2: nine seventy six four touchdowns, also had for eighty seven
- 15:08Speaker 2: receiving on fifty eight receptions and four four touchdowns. Twenty
- 15:12Speaker 2: twenty four was a real breakout man. He this season
- 15:15Speaker 2: he landed his first Pro Bowl. He finished the season
- 15:18Speaker 2: with fourteen hundred and fifty six yards on three h
- 15:20Speaker 2: four carres. He also had four hundred and thirty one
- 15:22Speaker 2: receiving yards on sixty one receptions in one touchdown. This season,
- 15:27Speaker 2: he picked up right where he left off. He does
- 15:30Speaker 2: it all so far this year. Nine ninety five on
- 15:32Speaker 2: the ground, fifty four receptions for five to ninety four
- 15:35Speaker 2: and two touchdowns.
- 15:36Speaker 1: He's he's a special one. Yeah, you mentioned it. I
- 15:39Speaker 1: think really we've we've this is probably the third time
- 15:42Speaker 1: actually we've talked about this. Obviously Alvin and with the Saints,
- 15:45Speaker 1: McCaffrey are going to see again and now him talking
- 15:47Speaker 1: about duel threat that can really hurt you with both
- 15:50Speaker 1: team leading rusher, second leading receiver on the team. His
- 15:52Speaker 1: nine hundred ninety five rushing yards rank fifth in the NFL.
- 15:55Speaker 1: His five hundred and ninety four receiving yards ranked second
- 15:58Speaker 1: in the league among running backs only Taryon Christian McCaffrey,
- 16:01Speaker 1: who's doing other crazy Worldleague things. He has a much
- 16:04Speaker 1: better roster and in Week thirteen he became just a
- 16:06Speaker 1: second player in NFL history at least fifty five receptions,
- 16:09Speaker 1: one four hundred and fifty scrimming yards in each of
- 16:12Speaker 1: his first three seasons, joining la Danian Tomplinson. He leads
- 16:15Speaker 1: the NFL in scrimming yards per game at one thirty
- 16:17Speaker 1: two point four. This is the key to the game
- 16:20Speaker 1: for me, But yep, stopping him because he can hurt
- 16:23Speaker 1: you and I think he can really kill you in
- 16:25Speaker 1: the past game. So it'll be interesting how the second
- 16:27Speaker 1: level of those linebackers, how they shift and pick him up.
- 16:29Speaker 1: But if there's one thing that's really shaking right now
- 16:31Speaker 1: with the Falcons, it's be John Robinson for sure. Bijon
- 16:34Speaker 1: is their guy.
- 16:35Speaker 2: They're gonna try to give him twenty five thirty touches.
- 16:38Speaker 1: As they shift to be irresponsible, not to be responsible.
- 16:41Speaker 2: Ill to talk about albur running backs and got Ken
- 16:43Speaker 2: Walker and Zach Starviney the duo K nine and Zach
- 16:45Speaker 2: Stravinae comebined for over one hundred and eight yards on
- 16:48Speaker 2: twenty seven carries in one touchdown last week against the Vikings.
- 16:51Speaker 2: Kim Walker had a run of at least ten yards
- 16:54Speaker 2: in eleven of the past twelve games this season. He
- 16:57Speaker 2: also has seven games where he's run for at least
- 17:00Speaker 2: ninety year. Has a run for these nineteen yards, He's
- 17:03Speaker 2: gonna quietly go for a thousand yards.
- 17:05Speaker 1: Yeah, quietly go for a thousand yards.
- 17:06Speaker 2: So far, he's that seven hundred and thirty three, four
- 17:08Speaker 2: touchdowns and twenty receptions for one seventy five. It's it's
- 17:13Speaker 2: impressive what he's doing because he's doing it quietly, and
- 17:16Speaker 2: I don't think he's really getting the respect that he
- 17:18Speaker 2: probably deserves.
- 17:20Speaker 1: No. I think everyone looks at it and they see
- 17:22Speaker 1: some of the numbers in the narrative kind of like
- 17:24Speaker 1: the Seahawks are running the ball, but they're struggling a
- 17:26Speaker 1: thousand yards. Yes, they're seventeen games in the season now,
- 17:29Speaker 1: but it's still he's only done it one other time. Yeah,
- 17:32Speaker 1: So it's not something to scoff at, you know, And
- 17:34Speaker 1: that's it's cool to see that he's on pace for that.
- 17:37Speaker 1: His teammate along with him, Zach Sharbonney. He's been getting
- 17:40Speaker 1: done in the red zone. He's got eight rushing touchdowns
- 17:42Speaker 1: at six in the NFL, four hundred and thirty seven yards,
- 17:44Speaker 1: one hundred and twenty five carries Sehkster eighteenth in the NFL,
- 17:47Speaker 1: and rushing averaging one sixteen Falcons defensive bump. They're struggling
- 17:51Speaker 1: little bit. They're twenty fifth line one hundred and thirty
- 17:53Speaker 1: one yards per game. So it'll be interesting to see
- 17:55Speaker 1: if the Seahawks can can get this part of the
- 17:57Speaker 1: game going. And it's more about for me, can they
- 18:00Speaker 1: have the really big explosive the forty yard running the
- 18:03Speaker 1: fifty yard. We've seen a couple where Ken is like
- 18:05Speaker 1: a shoe string away from making a really breaking one out,
- 18:08Speaker 1: So hoping he can get one of those this week
- 18:10Speaker 1: to kind of up those rushing numbers.
- 18:12Speaker 2: Then all right, now they got a couple guys over there,
- 18:14Speaker 2: Drake London, were still trying to hear if he's going
- 18:16Speaker 2: to play or not. It feels and looks doubtful for
- 18:20Speaker 2: the Atlanta Falcons, and you also have him and Kyle Pitt,
- 18:22Speaker 2: So Drake London. I actually I called one of his
- 18:26Speaker 2: games when he was in college against see against Colorado,
- 18:30Speaker 2: I believe, and he just he went nuts.
- 18:32Speaker 1: Man.
- 18:33Speaker 2: He's in his fourth season and he just gets better
- 18:35Speaker 2: and better every single year. He had eight hundred and
- 18:38Speaker 2: sixty six yards receiving in twenty twenty two, nine to
- 18:41Speaker 2: five and twenty three, and had a career year in
- 18:43Speaker 2: twenty twenty four. Last year he had one hundred receptions
- 18:45Speaker 2: for twelve hundred yards nine touchdowns.
- 18:47Speaker 1: All of those were career highs.
- 18:49Speaker 2: This season, London still having a great years on pace
- 18:51Speaker 2: have another one thousand yard season despite missing the past
- 18:53Speaker 2: two games. So far this year, sixty catches, eight ten
- 18:57Speaker 2: and six touchdowns.
- 18:58Speaker 1: It's eight ten, ranks ninth in the NFL. Yeah, he's
- 19:01Speaker 1: top ten player. He'd be higher on the list he
- 19:02Speaker 1: had missed those two games. Ye, Rahie Morris, you mentioned
- 19:05Speaker 1: it kind of day to day. I think he's it's
- 19:07Speaker 1: hard to speculate. We'll see if he's out there. If
- 19:09Speaker 1: he's out there, he's definitely enemy number one in terms
- 19:11Speaker 1: of the receiving corps. And then another guy, I want
- 19:13Speaker 1: to look at Bump talking about pass catchers, he's his
- 19:16Speaker 1: tight end Kyle Pitts number eight for the Falcons, first
- 19:18Speaker 1: round pick, fourth overall twenty twenty one draft as rookie,
- 19:22Speaker 1: sixty eight receptions over one thousand yards, one touchdown, goes
- 19:25Speaker 1: to the Pro Bowl. Since then, the numbers haven't been
- 19:29Speaker 1: I wouldn't even say I haven't been great. The numbers
- 19:32Speaker 1: have not been to where people's expectations are. Because if
- 19:35Speaker 1: you have a season with six hundred plus receiving yards
- 19:37Speaker 1: as a tight end in National Football League, that's good.
- 19:40Speaker 1: But when you're drafted fourth overall and they saw what
- 19:42Speaker 1: he did at Florida, I don't. I feel like he's
- 19:43Speaker 1: never hit expectations. Every time you listen to people from Atlanta,
- 19:47Speaker 1: whoever it is, they're not really sure what to make
- 19:49Speaker 1: of him. Are they gonna what are they gonna do
- 19:52Speaker 1: with him moving forward? What is this future with the team.
- 19:54Speaker 1: We'll see about that. With London out, though he kind
- 19:56Speaker 1: of pick up the slack a little bit against the Falcons.
- 19:59Speaker 1: He had a two receiving yards on seven receptions. I
- 20:02Speaker 1: was a high for this season. So it'll be interesting
- 20:04Speaker 1: to see him went back. Try to watch as much
- 20:06Speaker 1: film because you look at him, it almost feels I'm
- 20:09Speaker 1: not going to call him Jimmy Grahant, but more of
- 20:10Speaker 1: a tight end that's a receiver. Yet he still puts
- 20:13Speaker 1: his hand in the ground. He's still mixing it up there.
- 20:14Speaker 1: But he's definitely a playmaker. He can't hurt you if
- 20:17Speaker 1: you allow him to. We just haven't seen that. But again,
- 20:20Speaker 1: tight ends, I feel like if there has been a
- 20:22Speaker 1: weakness in the Seahawks defense, tight ends have been able
- 20:24Speaker 1: to leak out get some leaky yards. So Kyle Pitts
- 20:27Speaker 1: has definitely wanted to be watching out for. Put your
- 20:29Speaker 1: hands on him. Put your hands on them.
- 20:31Speaker 2: All right, Let's talk about our receivers, Jayson, Cooper, Cup
- 20:34Speaker 2: and Rashid Shaheed. Jason continues to be the best any game.
- 20:37Speaker 2: But you know, he had his first game where he
- 20:40Speaker 2: didn't have at least seventy nine yards, So you can
- 20:42Speaker 2: look at that and make what you want is.
- 20:45Speaker 1: He's still the guy. He can still be a never
- 20:46Speaker 1: one receiver in this league. But I'm still the guy. Okay.
- 20:50Speaker 2: When I watched the game, it wasn't like they were
- 20:53Speaker 2: double teaming jaysn safety was over. He's getting a bit
- 20:57Speaker 2: more attention as he should. It was more about the
- 21:01Speaker 2: pressure they were bringing it and that allowed Jason or
- 21:04Speaker 2: didn't allow his routes to develop. So that's that's what
- 21:06Speaker 2: I saw, So I wonder if we'll see some of that.
- 21:10Speaker 2: So but despite the choir before and Jameson, he still
- 21:13Speaker 2: passed Corn Robinson for tenth placed on the saoffs all
- 21:15Speaker 2: time receptions list with two forty five. He also passed
- 21:18Speaker 2: Joy Galloway for second place for most received yards in
- 21:20Speaker 2: the players first three seasons with three thousand and ninety four.
- 21:25Speaker 2: Jaysim he was already said single season receiving yards record
- 21:28Speaker 2: with thirteen hundred and thirty six, he'd beat DK Metcalf.
- 21:31Speaker 2: He said the career high with seven receiving touchdowns, and
- 21:35Speaker 2: he also has eight one hundred yard games this season.
- 21:38Speaker 2: He leads the NFL, and yards he leads the NFL.
- 21:40Speaker 2: Yards per game he leads the NFL, and fifteen yards
- 21:44Speaker 2: per touch He's tied for fourth when it comes to
- 21:47Speaker 2: yards per reception.
- 21:48Speaker 1: He's just doing his thing. And here's a cool other
- 21:51Speaker 1: thing I saw from next Gen stats. Despite not catching
- 21:53Speaker 1: a single downfield pass last week, Jayson's nine hundred and
- 21:56Speaker 1: sixty one yards on such throws this season are still
- 21:59Speaker 1: three hun and twenty four yards more than the next
- 22:02Speaker 1: closest player I'm on now, So he is still obviously
- 22:05Speaker 1: that guy, and I'm interested. I'm I'm expecting calling it
- 22:09Speaker 1: out right now. He's going for one hundred and fifty
- 22:11Speaker 1: this week. He gonna have another huge game. I'm telling
- 22:13Speaker 1: you that right now. They got some good corners over there,
- 22:15Speaker 1: but they are not seeing a guy of Jason's caliber.
- 22:17Speaker 1: So we'll see there. Cooper Cup a great interview he
- 22:20Speaker 1: was on with the huddle with you guys are today.
- 22:22Speaker 1: I love Cooper, love what he brings to this team
- 22:24Speaker 1: as a leader in the locker room and on the field.
- 22:26Speaker 1: He can still play. He's got thirty four receptions, four
- 22:28Speaker 1: hundred and thirty eight yards, one touchdown. He's quietly doing
- 22:31Speaker 1: like you said, what you thought he was gonna do.
- 22:33Speaker 1: H have fifty to sixty receptions over seven hundred yards.
- 22:36Speaker 1: A couple more touchdowns I think are on the way.
- 22:37Speaker 1: So love to see that. And Rashid Shaheed slowly they're
- 22:41Speaker 1: trying to get him acerry here or reception there. We
- 22:43Speaker 1: haven't broken it yet. I'm excited to see it. We're
- 22:45Speaker 1: seeing the explosiveness from Shiheed on punt returns, bump but
- 22:49Speaker 1: I'm just waiting to see that gotcha moment where he
- 22:51Speaker 1: goes fifty yards of the house because it's in his game.
- 22:53Speaker 1: I'm hoping we get to see it very soon. You
- 22:55Speaker 1: can see he's close.
- 22:57Speaker 2: He's one block away, you know, one fall step away
- 22:59Speaker 2: from making that happen. So, yeah, we got you. You
- 23:02Speaker 2: are a right baby. Be patient, all right, Last one out.
- 23:05Speaker 2: We got the Falcons front seven versus everybody. This is
- 23:07Speaker 2: a good front seven. You know, one thing struggling. One
- 23:11Speaker 2: thing they're not struggling with is getting after the Dan quarterback.
- 23:14Speaker 2: They bliss the second most in the league right now,
- 23:16Speaker 2: behind Minnesota, the third in the league. When it comes
- 23:18Speaker 2: to sacks with forty one, you got one, two, three,
- 23:22Speaker 2: four or five guys with over at least three and
- 23:24Speaker 2: a half sacks. You got two guys with five sacks,
- 23:26Speaker 2: one with six. This defensive line can't get after it.
- 23:30Speaker 1: No question about it. And that's the thing. Damage up front,
- 23:32Speaker 1: they're consistent. They have fifteen players bump or at least
- 23:35Speaker 1: half sack. Only Denver and the Seahawks with seventeen, who
- 23:38Speaker 1: have more. So that just shows you, you know, it's linebackers,
- 23:41Speaker 1: it's corners, it's safeties. The two rookies you mentioned, Walker
- 23:43Speaker 1: and Pierce Junior, who they drafted this year, both have
- 23:46Speaker 1: five sacks. Both have at least four plus TFLs. So
- 23:49Speaker 1: there you look. When you look at the front seven,
- 23:50Speaker 1: they're doing damage. You got. And then Ellis is a
- 23:53Speaker 1: tackle machine eighty two tackles, three and a half sacks,
- 23:55Speaker 1: so it'll be interesting to see. And then but the
- 23:58Speaker 1: Seahawks office line. I brought up detection a little bit earlier.
- 24:01Speaker 1: This is a cool stat about Grey's Abel. Again, next
- 24:03Speaker 1: gen stats coming through with this. Grey's Abel has allowed
- 24:06Speaker 1: the fifth lowest pressure rate at four point seven percent
- 24:08Speaker 1: of any left guard with two hundred plus pass blocks
- 24:11Speaker 1: and is one of just three players to not allow
- 24:15Speaker 1: a sack. Let's go, Let's go.
- 24:18Speaker 2: I mean, I knew who's gonna be good, but I
- 24:20Speaker 2: know it's gonna be that good off top, right off top. No.
- 24:22Speaker 1: I love what we're seeing there, obviously, and last week
- 24:25Speaker 1: wasn't a technique thing. Bump you get attest to that,
- 24:27Speaker 1: the sacks that were giving up, it'll be interest see
- 24:29Speaker 1: how they bounce back. You know, obviously, the Falcons are
- 24:32Speaker 1: not what the Vikings do. Different coordinators or not Flores
- 24:36Speaker 1: approaches the game a different way, but it'll be interesting
- 24:38Speaker 1: to see how the pressure deal dialed up and how
- 24:41Speaker 1: the Seahawks can bat it because it's a copycat league, right.
- 24:43Speaker 1: I think Mike o'donald talked about that throughout the week.
- 24:45Speaker 1: In a copycat league, bump, if you if something successful
- 24:49Speaker 1: or something's not successful, teams are gonna try that every
- 24:51Speaker 1: wee can see it again and stop it.
- 24:53Speaker 2: Yep, you go see it again, and it's already in
- 24:55Speaker 2: their DNA of blitz a lot anyway, So now they
- 24:57Speaker 2: might mix it up a little bit and take some
- 24:59Speaker 2: pressures from it to Flores over there.
- 25:02Speaker 1: I got fake the sea. You're gonna figure it out,
- 25:03Speaker 1: and we're gonna tell you how they're gonna get that
- 25:04Speaker 1: big job done. In path to victory, after forty five
- 25:09Speaker 1: waits for the staff, Michael Dixon puts it down. That
- 25:12Speaker 1: kick is away, and that kick is gone. Good day
- 25:16Speaker 1: of twin Bit's gun.
- 25:17Speaker 2: It's a path to victory.
- 25:19Speaker 1: On Hawk Talk, coach McDonald said earlier this season, the
- 25:23Speaker 1: players have earned the right to expect to win, bump
- 25:27Speaker 1: all the work they did start in the offseason program
- 25:29Speaker 1: until now I'm gonna adopt that saying a little bit
- 25:32Speaker 1: put my own spin on it. Because of what they've
- 25:34Speaker 1: done and what I've seen from them since OTAs, since
- 25:37Speaker 1: Qui Franklins. Is because my mac has had the job,
- 25:39Speaker 1: they've earned the expectation from guys like me and you
- 25:44Speaker 1: that they're gonna get the job done against a four
- 25:45Speaker 1: and eight team. Yeah, because we can expect that because
- 25:48Speaker 1: of what our eyes have seen and they put in
- 25:50Speaker 1: the work. They're a better football team. And I think
- 25:52Speaker 1: we're gonna see that. And this game is gonna start
- 25:54Speaker 1: up front. Bump Sam Donald, Seahawks offense owner heavy pressure.
- 25:56Speaker 1: We're just talking about that against the Falcons. I expect
- 25:59Speaker 1: more of the same on set. They're gonna keep Darnold
- 26:01Speaker 1: clean and give him time.
- 26:02Speaker 2: In the pocket, and if he gets time, maybe he'll
- 26:05Speaker 2: allow Jayson to keep chasing that record. Calvin Johnson, Man,
- 26:09Speaker 2: he needs a big game to kind of keep on
- 26:10Speaker 2: pace with them. We also need them to keep improving
- 26:13Speaker 2: with this run game of the foul because they're twenty
- 26:14Speaker 2: fifth in the NFL. And rush defense. Let's get ken
- 26:17Speaker 2: Walker going early and offensively. Man Kirk Cousins, this naked
- 26:21Speaker 2: hectic for him. The thing about this defense is you
- 26:23Speaker 2: don't have to bring pressure to get pressure, right. They
- 26:26Speaker 2: do things a bit differently over there, So yeah, you're
- 26:29Speaker 2: not playing that rookie like you were playing last week.
- 26:31Speaker 2: This is a pro so get after him and Kirk Cousins.
- 26:34Speaker 1: Yeah, and he's not He's not someone who's gonna He's
- 26:36Speaker 1: not gonna be a cam Ward in the sense of
- 26:38Speaker 1: getting out of the pocket. Kirk Cousins is not moved
- 26:40Speaker 1: like that, which is a scary thing going against this
- 26:42Speaker 1: defensive front. So we'll see that happens. But you gotta
- 26:44Speaker 1: play well, gotta show up and contain b John Robinson.
- 26:47Speaker 1: We talked about this from the jump. He is the
- 26:49Speaker 1: best player on the field for them. I think without question,
- 26:52Speaker 1: he can hurt you in a lot of different ways.
- 26:53Speaker 1: You gotta be a sure tackler. You gotta break down
- 26:55Speaker 1: eleven hats to the football, which you're seeing a lot
- 26:57Speaker 1: this year. So I'm not as worried there. But he's
- 26:59Speaker 1: the guy that you has to be stopped, sir. Then
- 27:02Speaker 1: what else they got Eliminate Drake Lennon. Who's Drake gonna play?
- 27:04Speaker 1: Drake Drake plays, Eliminate him.
- 27:06Speaker 2: Drake is a tempo type of receiver, he's not Blazer,
- 27:11Speaker 2: he's not gonna beat you with speed, but he is
- 27:13Speaker 2: a route runner. He knows how to move you. And
- 27:15Speaker 2: then Kyle Pitts, he's kind of like that matchup type of.
- 27:17Speaker 1: Guy, right, you know.
- 27:19Speaker 2: But we have the most versatile defensive player I think
- 27:22Speaker 2: in the league right now in Nick Worri.
- 27:25Speaker 1: So hey, win those match ups, man, let's go get it. Yeah,
- 27:28Speaker 1: this is another game again. The Seahawk should take care
- 27:30Speaker 1: of business. They're the favorite because of what they've earned,
- 27:33Speaker 1: and I'm really excited. Obviously we're not me and you
- 27:36Speaker 1: can look past it. This team is not big game
- 27:38Speaker 1: against the Falcons this weekend. You do that, things get
- 27:41Speaker 1: really interesting. Starts to get fun. Old Looming Field got
- 27:44Speaker 1: the rams of Thursday Night Panthers forty nine ers. The
- 27:48Speaker 1: Seahawks team is building some special We're gonna take you
- 27:50Speaker 1: along this entire ride. Hopefully it ends down there in
- 27:53Speaker 1: that place. Yeah, Claire, Santa Claire, we'll see. That's just
- 27:57Speaker 1: me and you booked my hotel? Would be good? Have
- 27:59Speaker 1: you good? Okay? Can I can I room with you?
- 28:02Speaker 1: He's Michael Bumbs, some nast job. We hopefully we're talking
- 28:04Speaker 1: to you guys on Monday about a Sea Hawks victory.
- 28:06Speaker 1: This has been Hawk Talk.
- 28:08Speaker 2: H
