  [upbeat music] Hey, everybody.
• 0:20
Holy- I kinda got, I kinda-... shit, we're back. I kinda got, I got caught doing something else, so you got a little extra intro music there. Trying to figure out my... What's going on here? What's happening?
• 0:30
Hey, we haven't done this for a while. So, uh, there we go. Hey, we're back. Hey, everybody. It's, uh, Full Spectrum Cycling. This is show number 215. Whoa. The last show we did, show 214,
• 0:46
was May, I think we recorded it, but I think we posted it May 26th. It was a bit ago. So it's been a little while. And I don't even... I think we talked in the last show that we had gotten broken into at the shop.
• 1:00
Did we talk about that? Mm, I think we may have, but let's refresh the listeners.
• 1:04
I don't remember, but one of the reasons why we've had a hiatus here for a couple of months, as it turns out, is that the old location got burglarized three times in a week, and, uh, the owners of the building were very non-responsive and didn't wanna do anything to
• 1:22
make the, uh, security better. No, they didn't wanna do anything, basically, just collect rent and let people break into the joint. So on, uh, June 1st, we moved across the driveway again, and, uh,
• 1:39
yeah, three moves in, in less than two years is, is a lot, and, uh, I honestly don't know what's gonna happen. The, the place we moved into, while it's a, a friend's building, is not ideal, unfortunately. So likely,
• 1:55
the shop will be taking a hiatus from the retail game, uh, at least in a retail shop location at the end of September. Uh, we'll still be around. We still have the old nut factory, which is awesome. And, uh,
• 2:10
you know, it's, it's the home away from home, so we're gonna kind of regroup and see what happens. So let us know. There's, there's stuff for sale here, folks.
• 2:19
I got a lot of junk's gotta go, otherwise I have to store it, so, and some good bikes too, so. You know, check it out, everydaycycles.com.
• 2:27
Uh, there's also usually in the show notes for this thing a link to our eBay store, where we're gonna be whoring some stuff out. So it's a little update on w- what we've been doing.
• 2:37
We got kind of a new, a new podcast home here in the nut factory. It's, uh, it's... There's a lot of junk in here, isn't there, Tony?
• 2:45
There's a bit of junk in here, but- By the way, by the way, Tony Berger's right over there... yeah. Hey, I'm here. Um- I think we found those headsets that make noise again for some reason. Yeah, mine's creaky.
• 2:52
Yeah, what's up with that? It's freaking me out. I- I'm, I'm not digging it. So tell you what, dim- throw me down. Yeah. We're gonna do something new. Something new. Hey, everybody.
• 3:02
We, uh, I don't know what happened to JK, so, uh, no JK today apparently, but, uh, now Tony's over by JK. And these headset, these headphones are much more comfortable. They're just... Yeah, there's...
• 3:14
'Cause there's nothing in there except for- My ear... air. [laughs] But yes, I think the spa- I think the space looks great. Um, just- It's-... got a little more build-out to do, and- Yeah, it's coming along.
• 3:26
Yeah, it's nice and big. You, you were... You said why, what do you have to frame out the brick wall for? It's not really framing. It's more trim.
• 3:31
Yeah, and now I realize, 'cause I thought you were in, like, a little room. Like, one of the little, the old little podcast room. Oh, right, right, right. So that's why I was like- Yeah... "Why are you doing this?"
• 3:39
Now that I see where we are, it certainly, I think, is beneficial for sound deadening at the acoustic level. Well, my...
• 3:46
So my, my plan with this is, if you look behind you, that's one of our, you know, big eight-foot-tall bakery racks that, with the, with the black curtain on it.
• 3:55
So several of them are gonna move over to this area, so I can totally block the room off, but what I like about the setup now is that the front can be open, and if we're doing video, then it's, it's a perfect, you know, backdrop to do video junk.
• 4:09
We- Plus, you can't rule out that we could look at both of the hairdryers. Right. Yep, that's gonna be s- That, so that's coming too. I've got another box of carpet tiles. Gonna make that a little bigger.
• 4:21
We have a big event coming up here at the old nut factory, uh, sometime in September. It's- Is it mid-September? I don't know the date. Yeah.
• 4:28
But the idea is to get this place a little bit whipped into shape for that open house. And, uh, a lot of artists- M-... in this building, a lot of fun, and it's always, uh- Yeah... those events are always great times.
• 4:38
So we're... I've got, I've got these two humongous enlargers. Someday I'll take a picture of those things. I'm trying to find some funding for a project with those, and a couple other things.
• 4:47
And, uh- If you're in the-... the open house is a- Yeah, it, it-... is a perfect way to w- show that to a bunch of people who are into art and whatnot. If you are in the area, that is a must-go-to. It is fantastic. Dude.
• 5:01
I don't know. JK just texted. I don't know what that means. Okay. I'm not sure what dude means. He must have forgotten. Yeah, whatever. [laughs] I, I don't know what that means. He's texting weird stuff. Okay.
• 5:13
Hey, JK, uh- We'll finish this without you. I don't know. Yeah. Maybe, or he'll show up. I'm not sure. Let me see if I can figure out the hell's going on here with that guy. That, with, with that guy. Let's see here.
• 5:26
Dun, dun, dun. Doing some things. I-N-T-V-E-F-R-A-Y. What? Don't, don't know what that means. Yeah. So, um, anyway, uh, like, there's a lot been going on in the couple months since we've been here.
• 5:40
Uh, if you wanna work backwards from this past weekend and [laughs] kinda- [laughs]... go into the distant past or- This, this past weekend was the weekend, the people's holiday. River West 24, folks. Yep.
• 5:52
Absolutely fantastic. Team Captain, uh, Tony over there.
• 5:56
I, I have so many stories, but there's one in particular I would really like to share, and that is that I had house guests that I had never met who parked a camper in my side yard
• 6:09
And they had just finished the first four days of RAGBRA. Oh, they did the first f- Yeah... okay. That's, that's been a, a good idea to go get- Yeah... some legs under you before you come up here.
• 6:19
And then they set up the, the RV, the camper, which was just prior to my son coming home from school, and he frankly lost shit when he saw this. That's a cool thing. He gave me the old, "What that?"
• 6:34
And then he went running for it. That's a cool thing. It's a- Uh, the, the individuals riding were kinda, as I was walking them over to registration, we're kinda strategizing, like, "Should we try to win?
• 6:46
Should we try to..." [laughs] And I was like, "You should probably just try to have fun." Just try to not- Um- Yeah... y- you know. So, they- It's an effort to win, not just- Right... in the last. It's not worth it. No.
• 6:56
Under- They got registered. Two of them signed up for the tattoo. Well, that, well- Um, and- You keep talking... two of them signed up for the tattoo, and they ended up
• 7:06
s- doing the start and finish, after, I might add, stopping at Damian's for a Cuban for all four of them. They each got one. Um, that's Scardino's on Locust.
• 7:14
Uh, and then they started the race with everyone, and throughout the course they caught up to me and they said, "Hey, fuck RAGBRA. Can we stay at your place next year?" That was absolutely fantastic.
• 7:32
They had so much fun that the next day, while we were hanging out with Sam before his surgery, rest and, you know, glad everything worked out okay there, Sam. Uh, they
• 7:43
actually came out, and we're getting ready to do a lap, and I'm like, "So how many laps have you done?" And they said, "Six."
• 7:49
You can reference when you- So they obviously had a good time and were not in it to win it if they were 20 hours into it and did six laps. So when are you- It does seem as though Mike is here now.
• 8:01
So Mike's gonna have to put on the clickety headset today. Yeah, it's all Mike. It appears as Sven is setting up additional items. Strap in. We got a lot to talk about. Oh, boy. Oh, yeah. JK's getting ready.
• 8:16
I think we're gonna have a, at least a slight discussion on Paul Reubens, one of the saddest things I coulda got on Monday. Literally, I mean, how... So sad. 70 years. Way, way, way too young.
• 8:34
[laughs] I missed it. And we're playing musical chairs. Which- JK, go to your microphone. Go to your microphone. Go over by your microphone. Put, put your heads... There ya go. Tony had on the, uh- Oh, the s-...
• 8:48
the su- the super crinkly for some reason, so, uh, we just see if we can- The mickety mickety mickety Mack. Mack. Is that, is that better? Mack, Mack. All right, everybody, JK's here now. Everything's all right.
• 9:01
Everything must be better. We were just discussing the old River West 24 event this past weekend. Did team, did team M- Michael make a, a, how many laps did you make? Two. Tattoo? Uh, no. Okay. No tattoo? No tattoo.
• 9:16
No tattoo. So- No tattoo because, I don't know, 60 bucks is a... And my first one was last year, so. It was at my house. I thought that- Yeah, exactly.
• 9:27
I mean, like, the, the- I thought that that, this year's tattoo, uh, honestly would be one of my favorites of the bunch. I loved it. It's a nice, it's nice looking. I loved it. Last year's is a good one. It is.
• 9:36
Last year. It is. Yeah. This year's was much larger. For, for... Well. For the same price, see? Huh, no. Value for your ink. No. It was 60 bucks last year, too? Yeah. I don't know. I thought it was 50 last year.
• 9:46
It was 60. Whatever. Maybe I was high. Eh. Maybe. Maybe I'm high. So two laps. So JK has a, a, a hoof. A hoof? Uh, the Achilles. Yeah, this is what- Ooh, he's got a brace on. Oh, yes.
• 10:00
This is what, uh, listening to and dealing with classical civilization will do to you. [laughs] It's like, yes, you get the Achilles heel. So do we- And it does... do we know how it got injured? No. It just happens.
• 10:15
It's a tendonitis of the Achilles tendon, and that's what you get. Ah, so you saw a doc? No. Oh, I just saw myself. I'm internally... Yeah.
• 10:28
Oh, the guys that just sit there and go like, "Hey, man, I think I- Well, I thought I saw fucking Tony... hey, man, I think I totally know that." Yeah. Yeah. It's like, oh, what? What are you talking about?
• 10:40
The guys that I play Dungeon and Dag- Dragons with? Dungeons and Dragon Hearts. Yeah. Yeah, Gary, Gary Gygax's birthday was just recently, and the funny part was
• 10:53
there was a connection in the Arabic department that, it's like, "Oh yeah, my father-in-law is Gary Gygax." And I'm like, "Fuck, yes. Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes." She's like, "Okay, this is my last, uh, semester here."
• 11:10
Mr. Ham, leave us. [laughs] I'm just like, "But I love the fact that you said that." [laughs] Right on. Did you do any bonus checkpoints? One. Did anyone- Two laps... dancing? Two la- [laughs] no, I'm kidding.
• 11:25
Oh, God, that one was horrible. [laughs] No, I, uh, the, um- There was a lot of dancing ones, actually. Not the ones I did. [laughs] No, the, uh, one on Keefe, the, uh- At-... paint, paint a thing.
• 11:39
It was like, paint a thing. I'm like, "Yes, I can do a, a thing." On Keefe or on Fret- on Townsend? Keefe. Whatever. I didn't know there was anything painted on Keefe. Okay. Is that one of the checkpoints you missed?
• 11:49
Probably. I wanna te- so I wanna tell folks about this, uh, River West 24 and how trying to win it is kind of a fool- Oh, welcome back, everybody... a fool's errand. How has it been? You're late.
• 12:00
[laughs] So trying to win the event is, is, in the old days, it was a lot about doing laps- Like being in a race... and getting a few checkpoints. And now our team Did 21 laps, which is not bad 24.
• 12:14
24 laps of actual riding around the course, and we did a not great job on checkpoints. Ended up with, I think, 61 laps. Something like that. Yep, yep, yep. Brenda, one young lady, well, on a bike by herself,
• 12:30
did seven laps of actual riding, but did a lot of checkpoints and beat us by 15 laps. Yeah. Did 52. Yeah, she came in ninth. Yeah, ninth in, in women's team- [laughs]... solo, team solo, Han Solo, solo team solo.
• 12:44
So it's not really about riding the laps as much as it used to be. It's much more about having fun- Being clever Having fun and, and-... part of the community and- It's about being clever again, David...
• 12:53
and I have to start thinking about that harder throughout this next- Well, here's something for, uh, some of the people at this table, but not all I, I just wanna not be injured next year. Maybe you should see a doctor.
• 13:05
With something. Start rehabbing. Fuck off. Start rehabbing now. [laughs] So there's a, I didn't know this- We all suck... this last year, but there's a team called Elder- I know... where everybody has to be 55 or over.
• 13:16
Oh, is that all it is? Yeah. Shit, we should have done it. Oh, yeah. The five Fs. I know. Well, Damien's not 55, is he? No, no. Damien or Anthony, but I mean- Yeah... it's solo. Right...
• 13:25
it's Elder Solo, so why the- Well, it's als- I thought it was Elder Team. Elder Solo- Everybody on the team-... Elder Solo Con... needs to be 55 or older... Holy Man. So we get Chewy, we get Luns, you, me.
• 13:36
We're podium, baby. Old man Rivers. We're podium, baby. Speaking of, uh- That's a hard sell for Damien, though. He'd probably get really mad at me... let me push a button because it's time. Oh, God, no. Not him.
• 13:48
Oh, I pushed the button, but I don't know what I'm doing. Oh, w- this, we're getting back into the swing of this here. Uh, there he is. Hey, welcome to the program caller. Who do we have on the line? It's Chewy.
• 13:57
What are you guys saying about me? Just that, uh, so there's a new team for River West 24 that is called Elder. Elder. And all the team members- 55 plus... have to be 55 plus.
• 14:09
So I'm thinking, yeah, we got some guys that are pretty old and w- So, okay, so the winning team- I'm pretty old... did 151 laps with bonuses, and the, they rode 50 actual laps. So 101 bonus points, 50 actual laps.
• 14:22
Uh, the winning- Wow. The winning Elder team- We did more than that, didn't we? Yeah. Yeah, we did. But there's a lot more checkpoints now. It's not winning. It's not about winning. Oh, okay.
• 14:30
So, so, but here's the thing. [laughs] The Elder team, I don't know if they missed some checkpoints or how many laps they did, but the winning team there only did 101 points.
• 14:40
So I think we could probably take the old Elder- Elder class. Yeah... take the old Elder class out, you know, then we could be multiple- I don't- You can come next year, Chewy. You're allowed. Um, yeah.
• 14:51
Can, can we talk- Yeah, I don't see why not... but, but Chewy, can we talk about that stolen bike you purchased for $200? [laughs] I've... So the new deal is, um, I've got video I have to send you.
• 15:03
I just, I've, I've been doing hot laps up and down Washington Street on it. [laughs] 'Cause it's freaking gorgeous. It looks like it's geared fairly high. It is. It's way higher than it can.
• 15:15
But, like, everything else is pretty much stock on it. Like, I mean, it's been rode hard and put away wet. And y- and I agree. I do think it was stolen.
• 15:24
Um, I, Spinner is actually the one that found it online, and he sent it to me this morning, and I called the guy up right away or text the guy through Facebook messaging, and I said, "Um, do you still have it, and what size is it?"
• 15:37
And it doesn't matter. I'll take it. For 200 bucks, I was taking it. And alls I kept thinking was is, where did this guy steal this from? And then when I talked to the guy, at first it, I'm like- [laughs]...
• 15:48
he has no fucking clue what he has whatsoever. He has no idea what it is. And we started talking. Well, he had bought it from a guy he worked with and was riding it to work.
• 15:56
So his back w- he had a problem with his back, so he put the aero bars on it to ride it with his, with- [laughs]... so his back wouldn't hurt. We'd, well, Chewy sent pictures- No, no...
• 16:05
so we're definitely gonna have those on the site. [laughs] He's selling weed. Here's the best. He goes, "Here's the s- here's the selling point on this bike. Here's the selling point on this bike."
• 16:13
He goes, "It's awesome. You can pedal three strokes, and it just coasts forever." [laughs] Oh. [laughs] Yeah. It's, I think it sounds like something Tony would ride. It's Dan Mere an e-bike. [laughs] Oh. Ooh. Yeah.
• 16:28
I, I, I loved my rat rod. I'll, I'll give you 250 for it. My rat rod. Yeah. [laughs] It's a big frame, and you'd never fit on it. Well- Oh, yeah. True that... this b- it's, it i- it is.
• 16:38
It's a 19 inch, so I'm assuming that's the larger frame. It's, it's, it's an, it's an inch taller than my frame, I think. The best part is right now Spinner and I are in negotiations. Um, he's gonna give me $100 for it.
• 16:48
We're gonna share it. We're gonna negotiate again who gets it for what days and what weekends. [laughs] Well, you're there a lot more often than he is these days in Decorah, aren't you? Well, no.
• 16:59
He, he doesn't, he works permanently from here now with the new company he's with. So he doesn't go anywhere at all except for he's, like, uh, at a fire call every other afternoon it seems like, so.
• 17:10
Uh- But yeah, no, he's in town permanently. He doesn't live, he doesn't work in Madison anymore. Aha, okay. Did y'all, uh, run into- So, yeah... uh, John McGivern doing his, uh, thing there?
• 17:22
Where was John McGivern doing a thing? In Decorah. In Decorah. I d- In Decorah. Was he- Oh... was he by the Eagles or doing fishing or what? Yeah. "Hello, I'm John McGivern." "Hello." And he, yeah.
• 17:37
Either you saw him or you didn't. He's a TV, he's a TV personality. [laughs] He's not a radio personality like us. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Either you saw him or you didn't. [laughs] Yeah. So- Apparently no.
• 17:50
[laughs] That, uh, that, so it's a rat, rat ride or what they call a rat ride, right? It's, it's a rat ride. So- Yeah... I gotta make sure I got this story straight.
• 17:58
So this is, so in Surly fashion, they didn't do a 10 a- 10th anniversary. They did it on the 11th. So if you, if you, the stickers were one times one equals 11. Got it. That was, that's how they started that.
• 18:11
And if I, and if I, if I got the story r- straight from Andy, Andy Carson, who was one of the original guys, um, the company was gonna be called One by One. And the One by One was gonna be called The Rat Ride. Hmm.
• 18:24
When, when Hurrell and Gina and all those guys helped Quality get started on, on the Surly Bikes company.
• 18:29
So the origi- so if I remember right, One by One was gonna be the name of the company, and Rat Ride was gonna be the name of this bike. And bec- and, and, and actually I- There's so little foresight... yeah.
• 18:40
So A- and actually, Andy gave me a set of stickers from before they, before they even made that, he already, he had the stickers already made up for it, 'cause that was kinda the other gig that Andy Carson did.
• 18:50
He did any of the cool-looking, um, stickers you used to see from Surly were all done by Andy Carson, so. I can't hear you through the duct tape over your mouth or whatever. [laughs] That type of thing? [laughs] Yeah.
• 19:04
Well- That, that one. Yeah. It was that one. Um, I think he also was involved in naming their first bicycle rack the Nice Rack. Oh, nice. He got in trouble for that one. Yeah, he got in trouble for that one eventually.
• 19:17
Um, he may have, he may have...
• 19:20
Do you remember when they first came out with the Big Fa- the Big, the Big Dummy, and they had the T-shirt with the finger pointing down saying, "I'm with, I'm with dummy," or whatever it was?
• 19:28
He got in trouble for that one, too. 'Cause "I'm with stupid" wasn't good enough for people?
• 19:33
[laughs] Yeah, no, I was go- it was point- he said it was pointing at the bike, and they assumed that it was pointing at something else. It was like- So... oh, right on. Gotcha. I feel ya.
• 19:44
So no, I actually have two of these, 'cause I have another one of these. Two of these? And you've seen it. It's the bike I use to pull the trailer on Sand Rampage. Oh, okay. Does it- Ah...
• 19:52
that one have 24-inch wheels on it, too? Yes. Huh. Yes. I never should have sold mine. Um- I feel bad about that. Oh, I made a noise. I think I've actually got- Top of the hill...
• 20:01
I think I actually- Chewy time of, top of the hill... yeah. Oh. Time of the hill. I'm doing, I am doing a, um, a New Glarus. Oh, he's off. Oh, yeah. He's off and running. [bell ringing] He's off and running.
• 20:12
[laughs] There we go. Okay, I'll try it. He's off and running. Dude, what? What are you s- what are you sucking down over there? Yeah, he was going. I've got [laughs]... What are you guys drinking?
• 20:22
We're dr- we're drinking War Pigs Foggy Geezer. Oh, okay. Which is awesome. I have a, I have a New Glarus, um, strawberry something or other. Oh, is that Goza? Like strawberry root beer. What did you do?
• 20:34
And you're giving me shit for driving an ele- Did you buy, did you, did you buy an e-bike or something-... for riding an electric bike... to drink that strawberry Goza? Man, strawberry Goza- Ah... in your tank. Fuck.
• 20:43
Damn, Chewy. No, it- You're an enigma... it's actually rather refreshing. I kinda like it. Uh, [laughs] this is funny. So bite me if you don't like it. [laughs] I'll bite you if I like it or not like it.
• 20:53
All right, here's something to think about for your- So- Can you get 24-inch tires with, with some sort of tread, not just the slick like those- Yes... HoDags? Right, because that's what I have on mine.
• 21:05
I'm, on my, my other one has those on it. You know where he should take that bike then? Um. The, the Fatoberfest- Is that... at Osage on October 7th. That's right. Oh, that's a brilliant idea. Oh, yeah. I should do that.
• 21:17
Yes. Well, we're gonna come by- I will do that... and visit your house again before we... I, I definitely wanna go there, and this time camp instead of stay in the hotel, 'cause, you know, five bucks- Okay...
• 21:25
for camping, right? Okay. October 7th is- Yeah, yeah... a Saturday in, in, in October [laughs] over there in Osage, Iowa, where the, what do they call the, the group over there?
• 21:36
The Mountain Goat something something something? Uh, yeah, Mountain Goats. Yeah. Mitchell, Mitchell County? Is it Mitchell County? Mitchell Co- yeah, Mitchell County Mountain Goats. Yeah. There you go.
• 21:44
So and, and they've, those trails were so fun because, you know, you don't have to be a superhuman like when you ride in Decorah to, you know- Decorah?... do all the hills there. Decorah...
• 21:54
you just, it's, it's a very pleasant ride, and it's fun. It is. And, and- It's a lot of fun. And- And I was gonna say, and it's not easy. It's, it's got some technical parts to it. Just keep your head- This is true...
• 22:05
just keep your head above yourself. Yeah, I think that's, it's on- Just keep your head above yourself... it's definitely on my, my schedule- Just act like a normal guy... and as long as things go- Yeah...
• 22:13
according to plan, we should be there. I, I, I've, I've somewhat registered. I put it on the calendar. I do have one small conflict that I think I can get out of, so, um- Dude...
• 22:22
what do we do, like, do like a Friday on over, come to the house on Thursday night or something? Yeah, I don't, it's, uh, you still camp on Friday night over there maybe? I don't know.
• 22:31
We'll, we'll have to work it out, 'cause- Yeah, do Friday, Saturday... purchase tickets on Saturday night I think there's two salon chairs I see. Oh, yeah, the salon- Are we-... the salon chairs are in...
• 22:39
how many salon chairs- I have a Netflix... are in the room that you're sitting in? 'Cause I can only ask the questions via the thing.
• 22:47
So how many- Well, and I like how you guys stole my table idea, because I have a table similar to your broadcasting table now also. Oh. Mine has about 12 seats.
• 22:55
How many, how many, um- With, with the, uh, blue iron legs and- With the font... I, I really don't have hair. I just have wispy hair that will just be, like, sucked in- It gets sucked right in there...
• 23:06
sucked in there and- There you go. Yeah. I, I do e- I have a Netflix movie... enjoy the experience. Yeah. But yes.
• 23:11
What, is, what's going on, like, the last week, last weekend or the last two weekends in August over there? Uh. Anything, anything worth coming over for? I don't, uh, I don't know. Um.
• 23:22
Yeah, it's always worth coming over here for something. Yeah, there's always gonna be something, but, uh- Okay. Hmm. Nothing- Yeah, well- Nothing on the ready... I think it's working better because
• 23:32
I, I don't think I'm gonna go to Colorado now, so I would gladly come over and deliver a, a- Yeah, we're-... table for some days... relaxing groovy at least. Pick up some popcorn and- Yeah, yeah, pickle popcorn. Dude.
• 23:43
You need- Yeah... pickle popcorn. You said that last fucking time. So you, uh, you're gonna do a show soon too- [laughs]... I understand. Is that, is that right? Yep.
• 23:52
Tomorrow night we're gonna try to do, yeah, so, um, what would that be? Saturday night? [laughs] So when this comes out. One, two, nine, seven, eight. We're gonna try to do a show. Uh, Kayla's, Kayla's back from RAGBRAI.
• 24:02
She says it was the best RAGBRAI she's ever been on. So, um, I was- Even though it was 1 million degrees? Yep. It was- Yeah, and there was 2 billion people it looked like. But yeah.
• 24:13
So, um, although she's been somewhat off the radar since she's got back.
• 24:16
I texted her about 15 times, and I finally got a response out of her, so I'm not sure if that means her heat stroke is over with or she's sobered up- She's [laughs]... or what part of it's happened. I'm not sure.
• 24:26
Well, sounds like she's alive, though. That's a good thing. Hmm. We're gonna do ours the day after yours, so, uh, we'll get some pictures and some stuff. She'll have, she'll have lots to say.
• 24:35
I'm sure she's, she's quite... She was actually riding with two different teams while she was there. There's two teams out of Rochester, and she was bebopping back and forth with them.
• 24:42
Be bop, or not- And they've gotten to the point where they're- Boop, de lee bop... they've got pe- people coming from other states that ride with them now. So they're, both those two clubs have gotten really big.
• 24:51
Awesome. So- Yeah, and so the, uh- All right, I'm, uh- So Tony, just real quick. I'll- Tony's, uh, his house guests did the first four days of RAGBRAI, then came up here and did the 24, so that was pretty cool.
• 25:03
That's really cool. Yeah. [laughs] They also- That's really great to hear. Chewy, Chewy, they also did one lap, found me on the course, and said, "Fuck RAGBRAI. Can we do this next year?"
• 25:13
[laughs] That is- Did they really? Yeah, they really did, dude. I, I- They had the most fun I had ever seen anyone for a virgin trip have fun. They were all wearing kilts. I- That's right, they were all rocking kilts...
• 25:24
I, I, I was- And by the way, Chewy- I w-... I know you're just, like, yelling at me in the magical sense. [laughs] But no, now you have somebody else to talk to. Never. No. Never. No, no, no. All right.
• 25:37
I have to run here, guys. No, you have to run. All right. I'm at Paul- See ya, Chewy... next show. Why do you gotta- Well, thanks for calling, man. All right, see you guys. All right. Bye. Bye. [laughs] Bye.
• 25:44
Good run, runs- All right. Chewy, everybody. From the, from Decorah currently. From Decorah, Iowa. Decorah. Decorah has the- What? What are you doing? Now, put, take the hands off the microphone.
• 25:55
I'm just used to doing it that way. [snores] Hey, dude, dude. I, this entire day, it's a full moon. Oh. It's a full moon, and I'm, like, really tr- Is that your excuse? Yeah.
• 26:11
[laughs] I shit you not. No, no, no. It's a f- it's a full, it's a full glass. It's a full moon. [sighs] What? You should see a doctor. Have that foot checked, please. It's not fun.
• 26:24
Ask Strongman Sam with five screws put in on Monday. Oh, yes, okay. But, yes, okay, ultrasound. [rolls lips] Whoa, it's great. No. Here's one more thing to mention. I know this is on JK's calendar. Mm. September 3rd,
• 26:39
the day before Labor Day, is, say it with me, Tour de Toner. Mm. Oh, is it? Well, it would be normally. Yeah. So I'm putting it on the calendar already. Mine's oil.
• 26:49
That would be September 3rd, the Sunday before Labor Day. Yeah. Yeah. Thirsty Fox apparently is open on Sundays now again, so. Wait, why, why do you have a Coors Light bottle opener?
• 26:59
Just in case we needed to open some bottles. Yeah. Oh, hey, I got you guys some gifts. Nice. I was, I was cleaning up the shop, and these are Surly playing cards.
• 27:09
Do you know we, Molly, Cleon, and I have been playing cards, like, every night? Playing Surly playing cards. Thank you. This is awesome. I'm pretty sure all those cards are there, but, you know, you gotta- I'll count...
• 27:17
you gotta check 'em. It's good. You check 'em. I got like three more decks somehow. I will assume, I will assume the best.
• 27:22
I was just going through some stuff, and I'm like, "That's where all those packs of Surly playing cards went." [laughs] So I decided to bequeath- Yeah... a, a upon you a pack or two. Thank you, Gregory. Well, hey, yeah.
• 27:33
Or thank you, Sven. Thank you. Are you, are you signed up for the, uh, next Thursday go to Grohmann Tower- He's not a Guitar Smasher... thing? Oh, he's not a Guitar Smasher, yet. Yet. Ah, okay.
• 27:46
So it's only for Guitar Smashers. I'm sorry. Oh, oh. What are you doing? I got, I al- and by the way, I already have my s- I don't care who.
• 27:53
You don't have to be all this- I already have my silver marker for the Bob Mould show, so I can get my tires autographed. His tires signed? I'm so hoping he'll do that. Oh, you know what?
• 28:01
You gotta h- like, sign my taint. Sign my tires. Well, that, I mean, it's a good idea. Sign my tires. It's a good idea. I'm sorry. It's free Lakefront beer. It's Corazon food. Can't beat Corazon food. I mean, come on.
• 28:15
Come on. Why wouldn't you wanna go and hang out in the VIP area? When you spend your- I'm taking my, I'm taking my nephew. So to be a g- It's gonna be so sweet... Guitar Smasher is- 40 bucks a month...

• 28:41
That's what they get for their 40 bucks a month that I'm spending on- We- Wait a minute. We should have, uh, one of the guys on the show besides Billy. Uh, well- We have... we have. We have. We can.
• 28:50
We have, and have, and have, and have. Who else have we had? Wait. Well, we, we'll get people. Uh, next week on the show- [laughs]... maybe Corey Baumann from the River West 24 is gonna give us a- That was fun...
• 29:00
give us a rundown on, on just how much effort it takes to actually [laughs] do that freaking event. It's bitching. I mean, you got a lot of work to do.
• 29:07
Well, it's, it was hard enough being on a team again, because normally- Right?... I take a lot of photos. I took photos at the start. I didn't take any more pictures. Yeah. Oh, my God. I didn't, either.
• 29:15
Yeah, I, I was standing next to him, and he's like, "I don't..." And I'm just like, "Oh, I, hey, I'm not even part of team and whatever." It was awesome. Yeah, it's weird. Yeah. I'm, I'm thinking- You, you're all gone.
• 29:28
You gotta- If I'm gonna be on a team, I was thinking of going solo and just doing the camera thing- That's where-... at all of the bonus checkpoints and- Old people, though, sounds fun. It does sound...
• 29:38
We'll have to look into that. Old people, old people travel. Especially if we old people it and then kill it. So you, you, me, Lunz, and Chewy so far- Yeah... for sure are in the over 55 age brackets.
• 29:47
Why don't we get a old geezer, too? Oh, oh, elder. Elder. Yes. What old geezer? Uh, Old Fart. Which old fart? What's his name? The guy that does it. Bob? Uh- You know who he is. Bob from Bay View.

• 30:17
now that we have a place to do this again, I'm guessing we'll do it again next week. Yeah. So thank you very much for putting up with us while we weren't here. Uh- Thank you.
• 30:25
Thanks to Chewy for stepping up and doing a couple of shows, even though one of them was totally all hockey. It was still an interesting show.
• 30:32
I, I have to, his- I- He had a good comment about the bike cruising a lot and making fun of me. I, I, I call him out for that. It was pretty good.
• 30:38
Well, I do like listening to his hockey shows, because I w- learn more about hockey from them than I do from watching hockey on the telly. You actually watch hockey? On the telly. Sure, hockey's awesome.
• 30:48
Uh, and also thanks to that Sven guy- Watch hockey... for doing a couple of Sven on the Roads, and, uh- Yeah. Thanks, Sven... yeah, we'll, we'll probably do some more of those, um- Right, right...
• 30:56
hopefully, especially once we shut the retail shop down, I'll have all sorts of time to goof off and not do anything serious. Good job.
• 31:03
All right, everybody, thank you very much for listening to the show, and, uh, come- Awah... come back next week, and we'll likely be here again with show number 216. Thank you. Bye. Bye.
